Jacob was going to be acknowledged for his role in bringing down some of the plasma ring. He didn’t feel worthy of celebrating. Elon and Marcel talked to him about how important his job was and that losing people was part of it. Naomi confided in Dani and told her that she didn’t think she could handle Jacob doing more undercover assignments. She didn’t sign up for it. Naomi wanted a man who had a desk job without the risks. Darlene wanted to throw a party for Jacob. She let Izaiah know that Eva wasn’t welcomed at the party. He said that he wouldn’t be at the party either. Darlene thought Eva wasn’t going to be a permanent fixture in his life. Izaiah warned her that if he had to choose between her and Eva, she would lose. After their conversation, Darlene apologized to Eva for the way she treated her. During the ceremony, Jacob thought about what happened at the warehouse. After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed Darlene’s cake. Leslie arrived. Leslie and Darlene got into an argument. Jacob slipped out of the party and went to Uptown. He ran into Kat. Jacob wondered how many drinks he would need to drown out the sound of the gunshots that killed his best friend.
While Bill and Hayley waited for their table at the club, he tried to give her a loving squeeze. Hayley freaked out by his touch. His hand was near the area she kept the vial. Hayley claimed she didn’t want the staff to see him copping a feel. He felt guilty because of his conversation with Dani. Dani reached out to Bill to find out why he didn’t go to the ceremony to support Naomi and Jacob. Hayley admitted to Bill that she intercepted the message and declined to go on their behalf. Bill wasn’t happy about what she did. He asked her not to do anything like that on his behalf again. Bill walked away from her. While Bill was gone, Hayley slipped more poison in his coffee cup.
