Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

At the Brady Pub, EJ sits with Marlena, commenting that Rachel couldn’t get away from him fast enough. Marlena says he clearly makes her uncomfortable even if she doesn’t know why. EJ asks how long she thinks that will last and if Rachel will ever remember that she shot him. Marlena comments that those memories are buried deep in her subconscious, so it’s impossible to know when or why they would be recovered. Belle enters and calls this an unlikely pair as she asks what they are talking about.

Xander and Sarah walk Victoria in the park. Sarah comments on Xander not being very talkative today. Xander apologizes and says he’s been trying to figure out how to tell her something. Sarah asks if it has to do with the big meeting with Tony. Xander responds that they managed to make an agreement to avoid a lawsuit, but he’s afraid it might not be good for Sarah and Victoria.

Theo walks through the town square when he gets a call from Tony, who says he has excellent news. Tony announces that as of last night, DiMera Enterprises is back in family hands. Theo agrees that it’s good news and congratulates him. Theo guesses Tony’s offer for him to come work for DiMera Enterprises is now official. Tony asks for his decision. Theo agrees to accept his offer, so Tony invites him over to seal the deal and celebrate. Theo says he’ll see him soon and hangs up as Abe approaches, noting that sounded positive. Theo confirms that it was. Theo is glad Abe is there as there’s something he needs to tell him.

Tony has a drink at the DiMera Mansion as Gabi walks in and notes that he’s in a good mood. Tony responds that he’s in a delightful mood. Gabi says she got his text and asks if something happened with the lawsuit. Tony informs her that Maggie and the Kiriakis brothers have agreed to hand over DiMera, but they are going to keep control of Titan. Tony calls it unequivocally a win. Gabi says she told him if he locked Xander and Philip in a corner, they’d play ball. Gabi asks what the next steps are. Tony says it will take awhile for the lawyers to separate the companies and then DiMera will be back where it belongs. Gabi asks when they are going to tell the world that she’s in charge of DiMera Enterprises. Tony asks why he would tell them that when that’s never going to happen.

Belle asks for an answer as EJ says he was just asking Marlena how Rachel was doing. Belle apologizes for being late as she got stuck in a meeting. Marlena says everybody understands how busy a district attorney’s schedule can be. Susan Banks then arrives and greets them. Marlena asks how she is. Susan says she’s good but it’s really nice seeing them. Susan remarks that Marlena looks better than the last time she saw her when she put a good scare on her. Belle questions what she’s talking about. Susan asks if Marlena didn’t mention it and explains that she popped up at Marlena’s on the night of the blackout and Marlena confided in her that she had passed out right before she got there which Belle questions.

Sarah asks how the settlement with Tony would hurt her and Victoria. Xander explains that Tony pointed out Titan will be left in a vulnerable position cash wise and a hurt reputation. Sarah knows Tony accusing them of fraud didn’t help. Xander says they were trying to prove they could thrive as a company, but that raised some serious questions. Sarah believes he can weather the storm since Titan has been through a lot before but come out on the other side. Xander says they hope so but it’s not without sacrifice, revealing that he, Philip, and Maggie agreed to put in their personal assets to save Titan, otherwise they could lose everything.

Gabi argues that she and Tony had an ironclad contract that said when she helped him regain control of DiMera, she would get to be CEO. Tony reminds that her that the contract contained an equally ironclad morals clause. Gabi argues that she didn’t violate any morals clause but Tony says that she did in Johnny’s trial by admitting to coming to the mansion with a gun when EJ was shot. Gabi argues that she didn’t shoot EJ. Tony says that she wanted to and asks if she really thinks she should threaten a member of his family and then still take the reins of the company that bears his family name. Tony declares that actions have consequences.

Theo informs Abe that he just accepted a job in Salem. Abe asks if that means he’s moving back full time. Theo confirms that is the plan. Abe excitedly calls that fantastic news and asks about the job. Theo then reveals he will be working at DiMera Enterprises, which upsets Abe who says he will certainly not be.

Sarah tells Xander that Maggie already told her about the sacrifices they are making to save the company and she’s totally on board which surprises Xander. Sarah says she has complete faith in he and Maggie. Xander adds Philip too. Sarah thinks with all of them working together, they have what it takes to bring Titan back from the brink. Xander tells her how much that means to him and says he should’ve ran it by her first. Sarah says he’s not obligated to run his business decisions by her but Xander says these decisions affect their daughter, not just his future. Sarah assures him that Victoria is going to be fine and doesn’t need to be the heir to some massive fortune as she’s more than capable of providing for her future on a doctor’s salary. Xander says speaking of the future, Titan is not the only thing he’s hoping to bring back from the brink as he’s also willing to sacrifice to save their marriage.

Abe tells Theo that he knows how he feels about this. Theo knows what he’s thinking but argues that it’s not Stefano’s company anymore. Abe argues that Xander and Philip are almost just as bad. Theo reveals that he won’t be working for them as he just spoke to Tony on the phone and he brokered a deal to get the company back in the family. Theo adds that Tony is putting together a team to take things in a new direction as he wants to do good things with DiMera Enterprises. Theo declares that Tony wants him to help lead the way.

Gabi argues that Tony can’t do this to her. Tony responds that it’s already done. Gabi says she helped make this happen, fed him inside info, so he has DiMera back because of her. Tony appreciates her contribution but remarks that she’s not family no matter how many of his brothers she bedded. Gabi decides if he doesn’t want her to run DiMera, she’ll end up with the whole company and sue him in to bankruptcy. Tony laughs at her calling him deceitful. Gabi says they’ll see if he’s laughing when her lawyer exposes him for the snake he is. Tony asks if she plans on doing that by exposing her corporate espionage in court which is a felony. Gabi shouts that she spied on Xander and Philip to help him, calling him a son of a bitch. Gabi complains that she risked everything to get proof of Philip’s fraud. Tony argues that it wasn’t out of generosity as she did it to help herself. Tony tells Gabi that he does appreciate her efforts, so he’s going to offer her a consolation prize.

Belle questions Marlena not telling her that she fainted again. Marlena calls it very brief and says she’s been completely checked out and she’s fine so there’s nothing to worry about. Belle responds that she is worried because this has been going on way too long. Susan suggests having a doctor discover what’s wrong. EJ suggests letting Belle and Marlena discuss things but Marlena argues that there’s nothing to discuss, she’s had every medical session and is fine. Marlena mentions having a private therapy session to get to. Belle thought they were having lunch. Marlena says they will reschedule and she will see her at home soon. Marlena then exits the Pub while Belle calls out that she cannot run away from this.

Sarah tells Xander that there’s nothing she wants more than to rebuild their marriage and she’s so proud of him. Sarah is grateful that he’s willing to take couples therapy with Marlena. Xander says he’s willing to do whatever it takes to put their family back together. Sarah says that’s all she asks. Sarah suggests they get Victoria home and get to Marlena’s, so they leave the park.

Susan apologizes to Belle for telling her about Marlena but Belle is glad she told her. Susan says she’s just as worried about Marlena and doesn’t know what she would do if something happened to her. Belle calls Susan a good friend to Marlena. EJ invites Belle to join he and Susan for lunch but Belle says she’ll pass and exits the Pub while Susan comments on that feeling ice cold.

Gabi tells Tony that she’ll tell him where he can shove his consolation prize. Tony asks her to hear him out and says if she walks away from DiMera gracefully, she can take Gabi Chic with her, free and clear which is what she always wanted, leaving Gabi surprised.

Abe tells Theo that he is the smartest person he knows, but when it comes to his mother’s family, he is quite naive. Theo argues that they are his family too. Theo gets that Stefano did horrible things while EJ and Kristen had their share too but Chad is different and a really good guy while Tony is less dubious than EJ and Kristen. Theo tells Abe that he wants this. Theo declares that he’s no longer the kid who wants to go to the big house to play chess as he’s a grown man who is more than capable of making decisions on where he wants to work. Theo tells Abe that he’s just going to have to accept that and walks off, leaving Abe frustrated.

Susan and EJ have lunch at the Pub. EJ sees that Johnny texted Susan and asks what he had to say. Susan responds that Johnny just wanted to thank her as she promised to pray that Johnny and Chanel would get the mess with the adoption straightened out. EJ questions what kind of mess and what is going on with Johnny. Susan argues that if he wanted EJ to know, he would tell him, himself. EJ says he just wants to help if he can. Susan points out that last time he wanted to help, he blew up his relationship with his son. EJ admits he went a bit too far. Susan acknowledges that it’s not EJ’s fault and he can’t help that he is Stefano’s son, but he’s also her son which means he can learn from his mistakes. EJ responds that he’s truly trying to make things right with Johnny. Susan encourages that he will someday. EJ remarks that patience is not his strong suit.

Belle runs in to Abe in the town square and says she’s glad she ran in to him as she owes him a call about the man he was assigned to tutor in the literacy project. Abe asks if they can talk about it later. Belle asks if something’s wrong. Abe responds that he just had a pretty intense conversation with Theo. Belle asks what it was about. Abe is afraid Theo has made a pact with the devil.

Tony tells Gabi to think about how she could be running her own brand that she created. Gabi calls it a tempting offer while Tony points out the alternative is exposing all of her misdeeds in open court and then she would end up with nothing. Gabi asks if Tony is installing himself then as the new CEO of DiMera. Tony says he actually thought about someone else qualified to lead the company into a new and exciting future. Gabi asks who the hell it is. Theo then arrives and Tony says he’s just in time. Tony tells Gabi to offer her well wishes to the next CEO of DiMera, Theo Carver.

Xander and Sarah go to Marlena’s for couples therapy. Sarah asks how Marlena is feeling. Marlena says she’s fine and adds that she knows about Brady and that Tate is not the father of Sophia’s baby. Marlena calls it hard to believe that Sophia would lie about something so life altering for so long. Xander remarks that it is hard to believe.

Gabi guesses it was Tony’s plan all along to to string her along and get her to help him take down Titan, then toss her aside to install a blood DiMera. Theo asks Tony if that’s true that he offered the position to Gabi first. Tony responds that they did have an agreement. Gabi says they had a contract. Tony remarks that circumstances caused him to reconsider. Gabi argues that he can’t be serious as Theo asks if she was going to say that’s because he’s autistic.

Sarah says she’s been in Sophia’s shoes, pregnant and scared, so when desperate like that, decisions you make aren’t always in the best interests. Sarah adds that Sophia did seem genuinely shocked that Tate wasn’t the father and that she’s in no position to throw stones. Marlena thinks they all understand that when you keep a secret like that, the truth does tend to come out. Sarah agrees as Xander nods along with a look of concern.

Abe tells Belle that he feels like he’s failing Theo. Belle encourages that Abe has done an amazing job with him. Abe feels Theo is too trusting and that’s why he gets taken advantage of. Belle hates how Claire hurt Theo. Abe assures that Belle is not responsible for her daughter’s actions. Belle still feels guilty since they do everything they can do teach and protect their children. Belle knows Abe had misgivings about Claire in the beginning. Abe says he got over that and hoped they would work things out. Abe adds that he and John used to fantasize that they’d officially be able to call themselves family. Belle says she would’ve loved that too. Abe adds that he also wishes Theo wouldn’t have broken up with Claire, so he wouldn’t get mixed up in whatever Tony is plotting.

Gabi tells Theo that she didn’t say that. Theo feels she was thinking that he isn’t qualified to run DiMera because of the way is brain is wired. Theo argues that many CEOs are neurodivergent. Gabi gets that he may be a genius, but points out that he has no experience fronting a multi-national corporation like this. Tony argues that Theo built and ran his own successful company. Gabi calls that hardly the same. Tony remarks that Theo will have one of the best mentors in the world in himself. Tony asks if Gabi wants Gabi Chic back or not because that’s his final offer. Gabi agrees to take it, so Tony says it was wonderful doing business with her. Tony says he will make a call to make the necessary arrangements and steps out of the room.

Marlena begins couples therapy by asking Xander and Sarah to both tell her something they love about their partner. Sarah starts by saying she loves the way Xander loves her. Marlena asks her to elaborate. Sarah says what she means is that she never has to wonder where she stands with Xander as she knows he loves her and not because he tells her but also because he shows her in the way that he fights for them and his efforts to be a good husband and father, even in his mistakes. Xander says he loves the way Sarah manages to love him for who he really is and that her kind of love is terrifying and inspiring and makes him a better man. Xander adds that it makes him feel hopeful and grateful. Marlena calls that really good and asks what each of them think they need to work on to reaffirm their commitment. They both say trust at the same time. Marlena asks what broke that trust. Sarah states that she jumped to conclusions about Xander based on his past history and believed the worst about him. Sarah adds that she also withheld the truth from him. Xander tells Sarah that it’s okay as he told Marlena that she knew the truth about Philip’s forged letter. Marlena asks why Sarah didn’t tell him the truth. Sarah admits she was scared that Xander would react violently. Marlena asks if she had a reason for that thought. Xander responds that she does, but adds that there’s something he has to confess to.

Belle hates to see Abe and Theo at odds, saying she hopes they find a way to figure this out. Abe says there’s nothing to figure out as Theo reminded him that he’s now a grown man, so he doesn’t have a say in the choices he makes. They talk about always worrying about their children even as adults. Belle thinks Theo will do what’s right for himself. Abe hopes Theo uses his head before it’s too late.

EJ goes home to the DiMera Mansion and sees Tony has his bags packed, so he questions if he’s going somewhere. Tony reminds him that he and Anna were going on a cruise. EJ thought he would’ve cancelled that since he regained control of DiMera. Tony says it will be a working trip. EJ asks if he doesn’t need to show his face in the office as the man in the charge. Tony clarifies that he will only be the man behind the man in charge as he’s decided it’s time to hand the reins to the next generation. EJ excitedly asks if he’s going to put Johnny in charge of the company but Tony says with the way Johnny jumps from career to career, he was never in the running, so EJ asks who then. Tony then informs him that Theo just accepted the role moments ago, leaving EJ looking uncertain.

Gabi tells Theo that she didn’t mean he wasn’t the right choice for DiMera because he’s neurodivergent but it’s his lack of experience. Theo suggests that’s a benefit since just about everybody else who had their hand at the job failed at it. Gabi questions if he’s saying she failed. Theo tells her not to be surprised if he surprises her since he’s used to being underestimated. Gabi apologizes for insulting him. Theo responds that he’s used to that too. Theo says he’s sorry about how Tony handled it as he had no idea that Tony offered her the job. Gabi says she thought Tony was the only DiMera with a modicum of integrity but she was wrong. Gabi asks if Theo is sure he can trust Tony. Theo tells her not to worry about him as he can handle himself.

Marlena tells Xander to go on. Xander explains that back when he believed Brady was responsible for Sarah’s accident, he really wanted him to pay so he broke in to their home and went to Brady’s room with the intention of causing him harm. Marlena asks if Sarah was aware of this which she confirms. Marlena asks if Brady knows. Xander says that he does, but he felt he owed Marlena the truth. Xander adds that he understands if she no longer wants to counsel him. Marlena says she’s very glad he didn’t follow through with what he was going to do, but she told him that she wanted to help him and that she wouldn’t give up on him so she won’t as long as he doesn’t give up on himself. Xander insists he’s not giving up on himself or his family. Marlena says their time is up but they did some really good work today. Sarah agrees and thanks her. Xander thanks her as well. Marlena says they can thank her by being more open and honest with each other and themselves. Marlena declares that the truth will set them free.

Update written by Joseph

Marlena finds Rachel at the hospital and asks how her therapy session went. Rachel guesses it went okay and then asks if the doctor ever tells Marlena what she says in the sessions. Marlena assures she would never do that, unless there was some concern about her safety or someone else’s. Rachel asks if that’s the only reason. Marlena thinks back to EJ remembering that Rachel shot him. Marlena then tells Rachel that is the only reason and asks why she would ask that.

EJ sits in his office, finishing firing his electrician over the phone after the blackout. Cat enters and asks if everything is okay. EJ responds that it’s nothing a competent electrician can’t fix and asks her to look into hiring one. EJ comments that it appears he’s not the only one having a bad morning and asks what’s wrong. Cat is sure he will hear it from Chad, but he broke up with her.

Chad enters the living room of the Horton house where he finds Jennifer. Chad thought she and Jack were taking Charlotte to the pumpkin patch. Jennifer says she’s meeting them there but thought they could talk first. Chad assures her that he has told Thomas he won’t be seeing Cat anymore. Jennifer says that’s good but wishes Chad would’ve done that before Thomas found out about it. Chad informs her that Cat was great with the kids and that Thomas actually liked her a lot. Jennifer responds that he doesn’t like her now and that Thomas was so upset about Chad’s involvement with Cat, that he asked to move in with her and Jack.

At the Kiriakis Mansion, Maggie asks Holly if she’s ready to go. Holly gets a call from Tate but ignores it and tells Maggie that she’s ready to go.

Tate tries calling Holly but it goes to voicemail. Tate declares that he’s not letting Holly leave like this and goes to run out of his dorm room right as Brady arrives. Tate tells Brady that he can’t talk right now as he has something important to do while Brady promises that whatever it is, this is more important.

EJ questions Cat saying Chad broke up with her and says he’s so sorry, assuming it was unexpected. Cat says not entirely and explains that she and Chad planned to tell the kids about their relationship but Thomas found out before they had the chance and it did not go well, so Chad decided to end things because his kids come first. EJ calls Chad a good father above all else. Cat agrees and says she’s grateful to be at work as a welcome distraction.

Marlena questions why Rachel asked her if her doctor tells her what they discuss in her sessions. Rachel responds that she said something she shouldn’t have to Thomas and she doesn’t want her to be mad when she finds out. Marlena says she won’t be angry but would want to discuss it. Rachel then reveals that she told Thomas that she saw Chad kissing Cat. Rachel adds that she also told Thomas that when Cat stayed at her house, she was pretending to be Abigail. Marlena questions why she told that to Thomas. Rachel complains that she was mad at Thomas and it just came out, but now she feels bad and she’s really sorry.

Chad questions Jennifer saying that Thomas asked if he could come live with her and Jack. Chad asks if Jennifer planted that idea in his head. Jennifer says not intentionally and explains that she was talking to Julie about Tom and how she didn’t get along with her parents so she wanted to live with her grandparents, which is when Thomas asked to live with her and Jack. Chad asks what she said to him. Jennifer says she didn’t get a chance to respond because Chad walked in with Charlotte and she didn’t want to say anything in front of her. Chad argues that kids say things when they get upset and he didn’t really mean it but Jennifer thinks that he did. Chad argues that Thomas is a child and doesn’t really get a say in the matter. Chad says he’s his father and knows what’s best for him, declaring that Thomas is not going to live with Jennifer and Jack.

Maggie tells Holly that she’s going to miss her so much as it’s been wonderful having her for the past year, but she knows Nicole and Eric will love having her. Maggie admits this is hard as she starts to cry. Maggie wants Holly to remember this is always her home and she’s only a plane ride away. Holly tells Maggie not to worry as she will be much more careful about drinking and remember everything she taught her. Holly says she will try her hardest to make Maggie proud of her. Maggie cries that she’s always so proud of her as they hug. Maggie then says she has to get to the airport as they exit.

Tate tells Brady that he doesn’t understand that this can’t wait while Brady argues that Tate doesn’t understand as he announces that Tate is not the father of Sophia’s baby. Tate questions what he’s talking about and why he would even think that. Brady reveals that he has proof.

EJ tells Cat to take a break and go grab some lunch. Cat informs him that she had lunch yesterday with Gwen, who told her that the clinic is coming along and how Leo had to break her out of the secure room. EJ calls that an unfortunate turn of events, but luckily she made it out. EJ says despite the few minor setbacks, he’s happy with the construction’s progress. Cat says she hopes to take a look at it herself as she knows she’ll be getting phone calls from vendors and press about the upcoming gala, so she wants to know what she’s talking about. EJ responds that he’d be happy to give her the VIP tour.

Chad tells Jennifer that he knows how much Thomas loves her and Jack and that he’s upset with him right now, but he’s not going anywhere. Jennifer remarks that she never said he was and that she knows Abigail would never want her children to be away from their father but also that Abigail would never want Chad to be involved with a woman like Cat Green. Marlena then arrives with Rachel, saying she had no idea that Jennifer was in town and she’s sorry to show up so unexpectedly. Marlena informs Chad that Rachel had something she wanted to say to Chad and Thomas. Chad responds that Thomas is up in his room but he’d be happy to listen. Rachel tells Chad that she knows Thomas didn’t come to school today and she thinks it’s because of what she told him, so she wanted to say she’s sorry. Chad thanks her and accepts her apology.

Tate questions Brady believing that Tesoro was the baby that Sophia gave birth to. Brady explains that Rafe agreed to let he and Steve run a DNA test. Tate questions how he got his DNA since he didn’t agree to anything. Brady admits he got his toothbrush. Tate asks why he didn’t just ask him. Brady clarifies that he didn’t want to get his hopes up in case he was wrong and at first, it looked like he was since the results were negative, so he just assumed that Tesoro was not Sophia’s baby after all but then he realized what if Tesoro was Sophia’s baby but the test was negative because he wasn’t Tate’s. Brady informs Tate that they did a DNA test on Sophia and the baby and it’s a match.

EJ gives Cat a tour of the clinic’s construction. They agree that it’s turning out nicely. EJ says the clinic’s lab will be used for storage and mentions it’s extra security. EJ adds that the hole Leo put in the wall should be patched up by tomorrow. EJ adds that luckily for Gwen, the walls weren’t complete when she got trapped because once it is complete, the lab will be impenetrable.

Chad sends Rachel upstairs to see Thomas, noting that he thinks a visit from her might cheer him up. Jennifer tells Marlena that it’s good to see her and hopes they can get together to catch up which Marlena says she would love. Jennifer then exits to join Jack and Charlotte at the pumpkin patch. Marlena tells Chad that she couldn’t help but notice the tension between he and Jennifer. Chad responds that Jennifer is not happy with him. Marlena assumes that it has something to do with what Rachel said to Thomas. Chad blames himself as he thought he could get the rest of his family to accept his relationship with Cat, but he was wrong.

Thomas sits in his room, playing a video game until Rachel comes in. Rachel apologizes for what she said about Cat and his mom and hopes he’s not mad at her. Thomas responds that he’s not as he’s glad she told him. Thomas informs Rachel that he got so upset that Chad broke up with Cat, which Rachel says is good. Rachel declares that now all he has to do is make sure they stay broken up.

Tate questions Brady telling him that his DNA doesn’t match Sophia’s baby and if he’s absolutely sure. Brady confirms that he’s positive. Tate asks how this could happen and how this could be. Tate says all this time he thought he was a dad and now he doesn’t know what to think or feel. Brady knows it’s a lot and he can’t imagine what he’s taking in now. Tate realizes that he has to go tell Holly now because she’s leaving for Paris now because she thinks that they can’t fix things but now he knows they can so he has to go stop her. Tate tells Brady that he loves him but he has to go as he runs out of his dorm room.

Tate rushes in to the Kiriakis Mansion and tells Maggie that he needs to see Holly and asks if she’s there. Maggie informs him that she just dropped her off at the airport. Tate asks if her plane has left, pleading with her that he needs to know. Maggie responds that she hasn’t left yet, so Tate says there is still time to stop her.

EJ tells Cat that there is not much here but it will soon be a state of the art laboratory. Cat says it sounds like it will be great for the town. Cat knows EJ has more to do and says she can handle the rest on her own but EJ says she’s his right hand, so he wants to make sure that she has everything she needs to do her job effectively. EJ remarks that she has already proven her worth. EJ tells Cat that he’s there for her if she ever needs someone to talk to during this difficult time.

Thomas asks Rachel how to make sure Chad and Cat stay broken up. Rachel responds that it’s easy and she’s done it a bunch of times, starting with Chloe. Thomas asks what she did. Rachel excitedly recalls how she told Brady that she hated Chloe and would never be happy if they were together until Chloe left town. Rachel adds that she also got Ava Vitali to leave town and she went all the way to China which she calls a long story. Rachel tells Thomas that he can never let Chad think he’s okay with him dating Cat because as long as she’s sticking around, he could always go back to her.

Chad tells Marlena that first he was so angry at Cat but then he learned it was Clyde that put her in that situation and that she was just desperate to save her mother, so he eventually knew why she did what she did and he was able to forgive her. Chad says they became friends and he connected with her more than he had with anyone in a really long time. Marlena calls it a complicated situation, pointing out that he didn’t come to his feelings for Cat overnight so he can’t expect his family to get over their feelings overnight. Chad guesses he figured since he got over it, that the rest of his family could too which he calls stupid but Marlena calls hopeful. Chad feels bad that he led Cat on and made her believe they could actually work. Chad knows Marlena has been the only champion Cat has had in Salem and he appreciates it. Rachel returns to the room, so Marlena asks how it went. Rachel responds that she told Thomas that she was sorry and he said it was okay. Marlena decides they should be on their way. Rachel asks for a cookie first so Chad sends her to the kitchen to get one. Marlena wishes she could tell Chad that everything will be alright, but it took awhile for him to change his mind about Cat, so it may take awhile for his family to change their minds as well. Chad agrees to remain hopeful. Rachel comes back with her cookie and tells Chad goodbye. Chad says he’s really glad she stopped by and he’s sure Thomas is too. Rachel calls it her pleasure as she exits with Marlena.

Maggie notes that Holly turned her phone off so Tate says he has to get to the airport. Maggie knows he wants to stop her but her flight leaves in an hour and she was already at the gate. Tate declares he will do what he has to and rushes out.

Brady joins Marlena at the Pub. Marlena tells him that Rachel is in the kitchen with Roman. Marlena thanks Brady for joining them and mentions stopping to see Chad and Thomas. Marlena brings up Belle being meant to join them. Brady guesses it’s traffic and tells Marlena that he’s glad to have a moment alone with her because he has some unbelievable news that he thinks is good but will take a bit to process. Brady reveals to Marlena that it turns out that Tate is not the father of Sophia’s baby and that the fire house baby that Rafe was raising is actually Sophia’s baby. Marlena questions how that’s even possible. Brady says he will explain later as Rachel comes back and hugs him.

Cat and EJ return to his office. Cat thanks EJ for the tour of the clinic. Cat mentions getting back to work and checking his e-mails. EJ says he’s going to step out for lunch and suggests Cat do the same, joking that she doesn’t want to work harder than her boss as he then exits the office. Cat shuts the door behind him and goes to search his desk when she gets a call from Chad. Chad says he just wanted to check in and see if everything is okay. Cat says she’s okay and asks how Thomas is. Chad says he’s still pretty upset. Cat says she’s sorry to hear that. Chad responds that he’s sorry about everything.

Jennifer sits in the town square at the Tom and Alice plaque. Jennifer declares that she’s back home in Salem but she needs her grandparents’ help as she wants to do what’s right for Thomas and Charlotte and their family, but she doesn’t know what that is. She needs Tom and Alice’s help to show her the right path to take.

At the airport, Holly says goodbye to Salem when Tate rushes up to catch her. Holly questions what he’s doing there and how he got past security. Tate reveals that he bought a ticket to make sure he got in to see her. Holly calls this crazy and says he can’t come with her to Paris. Tate responds that he doesn’t want to go with her to Paris, he wants her to stay in Salem. Holly argues that she can’t keep doing this or stay in Salem. Tate stops her and says he knows she thinks that he slept with Sophia, but he did not. Holly brings up that Arianna said she saw Sophia coming out of his room. Tate blames himself for that but says it’s not what she thinks. Tate confirms that he invited Sophia over and he’s not proud of it but he thought if he could get her to think something might happen between them, she would tell him the truth about the baby. Tate admits that they kissed but swears that’s all that happened as he would never do that to her because he loves Holly and only her.

Thomas listens in from the doorway as Chad tells Cat that he’s sorry he hurt her as he really thought they could find a way to make it work. Cat doesn’t want Chad to worry about her and to focus on taking care of himself and his kids as they hang up. Thomas then approaches Chad, who says he talked to Jennifer and she said he wanted to go live with them. Chad says he gets why he felt that way, but now that he called things off with Cat, he asks if he changed his mind and they are good. Thomas says no, declaring that as long as Cat’s in Salem, he won’t be good.

Cat takes her purse and walks out of EJ’s office.

Brady thanks Marlena and says he and Rachel will head home as EJ arrives and greets them. EJ tells Rachel that it’s good to see her again and asks how he is. Rachel responds that she’s okay. EJ asks if she likes living with her dad. Rachel says it’s fine and asks if they can go now, so Brady exits with her. EJ then sits with Marlena, commenting that Rachel couldn’t get away from him fast enough. Marlena says he clearly makes her uncomfortable even if she doesn’t know why. EJ asks how long she thinks that will last and if Rachel will ever remember that she shot him.

Cat returns to the hospital clinic and uses her phone to take pictures of the lab security door and then climbs through the hole in the wall.

Tate asks if Holly believes him. Holly responds that she does but it’s not enough. Holly says she’s sorry but as long as he and Sophia share a child, she’s always going to have a hold on him. Tate says not anymore as he reveals he just found out that the baby is not his. Tate says Brady just told him there was a DNA test and everything. Tate says he has a million questions too but the only thing that matters is there is nothing standing between them. Tate tells Holly that he loves her and wants to be with her. Holly doesn’t know what to say. Tate asks her to just stay in Salem and not get on the plane as they kiss.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Leo and Javi walk through the town square with Tesoro, talking about how they will miss these walks. Johnny and Chanel then come through. Leo and Javi call out to them and ask if they want to say hi to Tesoro. Chanel says she can’t and rushes off while Johnny tells them it’s not a good time.

At the hospital, Sarah asks Kayla if they can talk because she’s facing a moral dilemma and could use her advice.

Tate lays in his dorm room with his headphones on until Aaron comes in and scares him. Tate comments on not being in the mood so Aaron asks what his problem is.

Johnny catches up to Chanel outside of the Pub. Chanel cries that she couldn’t stand to be around Tesoro after everything that has happened. Johnny encourages that they are closer than ever to proving they were set up. Brady comes out from the Pub and asks if they got ahold of Holly. Chanel explains that Holly claimed not to remember taking or sending the photos to Johnny. Johnny thinks she is telling the truth since she was in the hospital. Brady questions who sent the photos if not Holly. Johnny responds that they believe it was Sophia.

Leo and Javi talk about Johnny and Chanel seeming upset. Leo wonders if their home visit with the social worker didn’t go well. Arianna comes by and thanks Javi for helping her with the fire at her dorm room. Javi asks how Holly is. Arianna responds that she’s physically fine but mentally is another story. Leo jokes that he loves a good story. Javi asks Arianna if she and Holly are getting a new dorm room. Arianna responds that she’s going to have to look for a new roommate.

At the Kiriakis Mansion, Holly is on the phone with Nicole, talking about her upcoming flight to Paris. Holly mentions that Maggie is taking her to the airport soon so she’s going to finish packing and hangs up.

Aaron questions Tate’s sad vibe. Tate responds that he and Holly are over for good this time. Aaron argues that he’s said that before and asks if that’s not just the normal ebb and flow of their relationship. Tate declares that he means it this time as he lost her and it’s all his fault. Aaron responds that it’s probably for the best.

Chanel explains to Brady that they think Sophia blames Johnny for backing out of the adoption and that she’s furious with Tate for being in love with Holly. Johnny adds that they think Sophia orchestrated the whole plan to make it look like he was having an affair with Holly. Brady calls that pretty diabolical. Johnny reveals that they were on their way to confront Sophia since Roman said she’s working at the Pub, but Brady informs them that he was just inside and overheard Roman say that Sophia called in sick.

Sarah tells Kayla that she’s been sitting on a secret for months and she figured she would consult with Kayla to unburden herself. Kayla asks what’s going on. Sarah explains that it’s about Sophia as she examined her shortly after giving birth but something about her story isn’t adding up. Sarah informs her that Sophia told Tate that the baby was a girl but the ultrasound showed it was a boy. Kayla reveals she knows about that which surprises Sarah, who asks how she found out. Kayla tells her that Steve said something that made her look in to it. Sarah then tells Kayla that Sophia gave birth earlier than she claimed and that she’s the one who left her baby at the fire house drop off.

Arianna brings Holly the rest of her clothes to the Kiriakis Mansion. Arianna talks about being sad to see Holly leave but says she gets why she feels she has to do this. Holly talks about feeling bad to leave Arianna, but notes that she will send a letter to the disciplinary committee, accepting blame for everything before she leaves. They hug as Arianna says she’s going to miss her and Holly says she doesn’t know how she would’ve gotten through everything without her. Holly reminds Arianna not to say a word to anyone about her leaving, especially Tate until after she leaves. Arianna says it is too bad as she always imagined Holly and Tate were meant to be. Arianna doesn’t blame Holly for giving up on Tate after what he did to her as she deserves so much better. Arianna encourages that Holly will find somebody in Paris, who knows how lucky they are to have her.

Tate questions how Aaron could even say it’s for the best when he’s pouring his heart out over the girl he’s completely in love with. Aaron argues that she’s in to someone else which Tate calls a complete lie and asks how he could even say that. Aaron apologizes and tells him to calm down as he didn’t mean to set him off. Tate apologizes for going off on him when he’s just trying to help. Tate says he’s not thinking right as he misses Holly a lot. Aaron gets that he wants to defend Holly’s honor, but questions where Holly is if the rumors aren’t true. Aaron argues that if Tate lost Holly, he should go find her and make it right. Tate responds that he can’t because he doesn’t deserve her.

Chanel asks Brady if he knows where Sophia lives. Brady says he does but points out that while they have reason to be suspicious, they have zero proof, so if they tip their hand, they may never find the truth. Johnny agrees that they need to be strategic about this. Chanel suggests going to see Holly first and assuring that they believe her. Brady adds that they can ask who would have had access to her phone. Johnny then realizes that if what they suspect is true, then Tesoro would be Brady’s grandson.

Kayla tells Sarah that Brady and Steve had the same thought that Sophia was the mother of the baby dropped off at the firehouse, but they ran a DNA test with Tate and the baby but it was not a match twice. Sarah says she was with Brady when he got the results the second time and it took everything in her not to tell him what she knows. Kayla relates to being in that situation many times. Sarah then tells Kayla that she decided to confront Sophia directly, assuming she lied, so she felt responsible as a doctor and mother to make sure her baby is in good hands. Kayla asks what Sophia said. Sarah says that she was shocked that the DNA didn’t match and swore she was the mother that left her baby in the fire house. Sarah then reveals that Sophia ultimately admitted that Tate must not be the father.

Aaron reminds Tate that he’s his best friend and he’s here for him, so he asks Tate to tell him exactly what happened between he and Holly. Tate tells him that they got in to a huge fight at the bookstore where she told him that Sophia was just using the baby situation to keep him close and then he had the idea to invite Sophia over to their dorm to watch a film, but really to try and get information on the adoptive parents. Aaron asks if it worked. Tate says that Sophia saw right through him and tried to leave so he tried to stop her by kissing her. Tate adds that didn’t work either as Sophia knew what was up, Holly found out and said she never wanted to see him again.

Holly tells Arianna that all her texts and photos are all gone and she still doesn’t know what happened to her old phone. Arianna assumes that the phone fell in to the trash and caught on fire, but she’s still going to ask Sophia if she remembers anything. Holly asks why she would ask Sophia. Arianna reveals that Sophia stayed with them since she had nowhere to go with the curfew in the blackout.

Leo finishes calls at home and tells Javi that his sources have nothing on Johnny and Chanel or any of the other parents in the running to adopt Tesoro. Javi says for what it’s worth, he’s on Johnny and Chanel’s team, pointing out that they would still be able to hang out with Tesoro since they live close by and seem to like them. Leo agrees since if someone else adopts him, they may never see Tesoro again.

Brady reveals to Johnny and Chanel that he had a DNA test run on Tesoro and Tate and it came back negative. Johnny remarks that it rules out Tate as Tesoro’s father while Chanel complains that if Sophia wrote the letter, she was lying just to try and stop them from adopting. Brady responds that could be, unless…

Kayla calls it so bizarre, wondering who the father is if not Tate. Sarah says that Sophia wouldn’t say, but she gave her a DNA sample to prove that she is Tesoro’s mother. Sarah says she dropped the sample off in the lab last night to have it analyzed alongside Tesoro’s so she can be sure that she is telling the truth. Sarah prays that Sophia comes to her senses and tells Tate that he isn’t the father of her baby. Kayla questions why she wouldn’t. Sarah guesses that she’s ashamed that she slept with someone else around the same time and didn’t tell Tate. Sarah says she can’t force Sophia’s hand, but she doesn’t know she can keep it from Brady and Tate. Kayla knows how much they care about Brady and Tate, but says their hands are tied and they’ve already pushed the limits. Sarah knows and calls it all very frustrating. Kayla says at least they know the child is cared for whether it’s Sophia’s or not. Kayla then walks away.

Javi tells Leo that on the bright side, maybe they’ll have more time with Tesoro with the adoption process stalled. Leo admits he hoped they would have him for Halloween and jokes about dressing him up as Elvis. Leo then reveals he got a pirate Halloween costume since Tesoro’s name means treasure. Javi calls that great but reveals he also got him a costume, so he goes to get it.

Brady states that Johnny said the DNA test ruled Tate out as the father, but didn’t rule out Sophia as the mother. Chanel questions if he thinks it’s possible that Tate isn’t the father of Sophia’s baby. Brady says he doesn’t know as Sophia had always been adamant that it could only have been Tate but he didn’t think about it until now that Tate may not be the baby’s father.

Aaron tries to encourage Tate that he didn’t blow it, but Tate says he blew it with Holly and then told Sophia that he’s done trying to dig for more information about the baby and the adoptive parents. Tate says it’s just been a huge emotional drain on him when he’s supposed to be a college kid. Tate decides Sophia is never going to tell him the truth about the baby, so he just can’t keep fighting it. Aaron advises Tate that he has his whole life ahead of him and to just try looking at the future and what can be instead of ruminating on everything that has gone wrong. Aaron suggests he go take a walk in the nature preserve. Aaron thinks Tate should close this chapter of his life and start the next one.

Holly says she’s all packed and is going upstairs to make sure she didn’t forget anything. Arianna repeats that she’s going to miss her so much, but they can still talk on the phone every day and jokes that she can send her pictures of the hot French guys she’ll be dating. Arianna promises to come visit when she gets settled in as they hug. Arianna assures that Holly will crush it there and that Paris will be lucky to have her. Holly responds that Salem is really lucky to have her. Arianna then exits the mansion as Holly sits down, looking uncertain.

Tate remains in his room, looking at photos of he and Holly on his phone until Arianna shows up at his door to return a jacket of his that Holly found after the fire. Arianna remarks that she half-expected to find Sophia in the room with him. Tate responds that there’s nothing going on between he and Sophia. Arianna asks if he’s sure since it looked a certain way when she saw Sophia came out of his room the other night. Tate says that Sophia told him about that and he’s sure she didn’t believe her when she said nothing happened. Tate tells Arianna that he regrets kissing Sophia while Arianna argues that she knows they did a lot more than just kiss. Tate informs her that they actually didn’t.

Johnny and Chanel go to the Kiriakis Mansion to see Holly. Johnny asks if she’s taking a trip somewhere. Holly responds that if they came to give her a hard time, there’s no need, because she’s unenrolling from Salem U and moving to Paris so she won’t be around to give them any more problems. Chanel says they aren’t worried about that. Johnny tells her that they don’t believe she sent those photos as they think she was setup.

Sarah questions if Kayla is saying there’s nothing they can do. Kayla says she’s afraid not. Sarah asks if there’s no workaround, arguing that Tate has rights too as does the real father. Kayla thinks they need to wait for the DNA results to come back and then proceed, while maybe Sophia will have a burst of conscience and tell Tate herself that he’s not the baby’s father. Brady then arrives and greets them.

Javi puts Tesoro in the firefighter costume he got for him and shows Leo. They talk about loving that one and the pirate costume, so they will decide on Halloween. Leo decides to take a selfie with them.

Holly questions Johnny and Chanel thinking she was setup. Johnny explains that they started thinking really hard about what could’ve happened and realized that the photos were sent from Holly’s old phone while she was at the hospital, after she already lost it. Holly questions how that’s possible and where her old phone is. Chanel says that’s what they are trying to figure out and asks if she can think of anyone who could have got a hold of her phone that night. Holly says she was pretty wasted that night so she can’t remember. Johnny urges her to try. Holly recalls talking to Arianna and then remembers that Arianna just told her that Sophia spent the night of the blackout in their room. Chanel confirms that’s exactly what they think.

Arianna questions Tate saying he only kissed Sophia to try and get information out of her, arguing that he literally admitted to cheating on Holly. Tate clarifies that he felt like a lying jerk for even kissing Sophia and that’s what he thought Holly was talking about. Tate swears that is all that happened that night and he did not sleep with Sophia. Tate then questions if she told Holly that he slept with Sophia. Arianna says not exactly but Holly overheard Sophia making it sound like they slept together, so she just confirmed it was probably true because of how Sophia made it seem and gave her the impression that they did something that night with her body language. Tate can’t believe it and says he’s going to clear things up with Holly. Arianna says that’s if there’s even still time which Tate questions. Arianna then reveals to Tate that Holly is dropping out of school and moving to Paris today. Tate asks if she’s joking. Arianna explains that Holly made her promise not to tell him but now he has to go before it’s too late.

Brady tells Sarah and Kayla that he’s sorry to interrupt but it’s important. Brady reveals that he took Sophia’s work apron from the Pub and asks if they can get DNA off of it. Kayla says maybe but asks why. Brady responds that he wants to run another DNA test to match up against the fire house baby as he knows Tate isn’t the father, but he needs to know if Sophia is the mother. Kayla says that won’t be necessary as Sarah reveals they’re already running the test with Sophia’s permission. Brady doesn’t understand why. Sarah then gets the results back. Brady asks what it says. Kayla tells him that Tesoro is not his grandson. Brady responds that he knows that and is asking about Sophia since he thinks she’s been wrong all along and that Tate is not the father. Sarah says all they can tell him is that Tate is not the father. Brady points out that they didn’t say anything about Sophia not being the mother.

Interview with Adam Saunders, Tony Danza, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Kym Whitley, and Rizwan Manji

TV Interview!

Bex Taylor-Klaus, Rizwan Manji, Kym Whitley, Adam Saunders and Tony Danza of the comedy film "Re-Election"

Interview with Adam Saunders, Tony Danza, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Kym Whitley, and Rizwan Manji of the film “Re-Election” by Suzanne 10/6/25

Although I only had a few minutes with them, I enjoyed speaking with these actors. Adam Saunders not only starred in the movie, but he also wrote, produced and directed it. This is a really fun, farcical comedy with a hint of political satire. It’s very entertaining. Saunders does a wonderful job playing the lead character, Jimmy, who tries to better his life by re-creating some of his high school glory as class president.  It’s worth checking out!

First, I spoke with Bex Taylor-Klaus, Rizwan Manji and Kym Whitley. Bex has the largest part of the three, as a trans teen that tries to teach Jimmy how to win.   I’ve seen them in past projects, such as “Arrow,” “The Killing” and many other roles.   Rizwan Manji, who plays the Texas governor (and Jimmy’s rival) has a very familiar comedy face. I think I know him most from the 2019 sitcom “Perfect Harmony.” Kym Whitley has a slightly larger role as the school’s superintendent.  She’s done stand-up and has appeared in many TV shows and movies, including the reason hit film, “Happy Gilmore 2.”  Anyway, we had a fun chat. All three of us were cracking up!

I spoke with Adam and with Tony Danza after that. They had a lot to say. It was an honor to speak with Tony because I’m a fairly big fan of his. I used to watch his two big hit shows, “Taxi” and “Who’s the Boss.” I never missed an episode of either.  He plays Jimmy’s dad in this. Check out his cookbook, “Don’t Fill Up on the Antipasto: Tony Danza’s Father-Son Cookbook.” It looks amazing – and funny, too! Don’t miss this funny, heartwarming and thought-provoking movie, either.

We did have a tiny glitch when the internet interrupted us, but it didn’t last very long.

A wry, warm, and witty coming of (middle) age comedy, RE-ELECTION follows a 40-something underdog who returns to high school to reboot his past and finally win the race for class president.

High school haunts everyone, in one way or another. For Jimmy Bauer (director-writer-producer ADAM SAUNDERS), it was losing the race for class president during his senior year back in 1995, which caused him to drop out. Now a 40-something underdog stuck working in a memorabilia store owned by his dad (TV comedy icon TONY DANZA), Jimmy decides to go back to school for his missing class credits — and win the election he’s sure will make his life right. But after 30 years, things have changed a bit, and with the help of his new Gen-Alpha friend Noa (BEX TAYLOR-KLAUS) and former classmate-turned-girlfriend Ama (NATHALIE KELLEY), Jimmy learns that it’s not how we start a journey that matters — it’s how we finish it.

TV Interview!

Interview with Dani Deetté of “The Runarounds” on Prime Video by Suzanne 10/1/25

I had such a nice chat with Dani, and we bonded talking about TV shows and dogs. I love this show, “The Runarounds,” so much. I hope it gets another season because I’m hooked on it. I loved William Lipton on “General Hospital,” and he’s the star of this show. What makes it really cool is that this was a real-life band before they made the series (which is not based on real life), so all of them are really singing and playing.

Dani has been in many shows and movies, and she also had a whole other career before becoming an actress! She’s pretty amazing. Her dog is adorable, too. Hope you can watch the show and enjoy our video interview.

She is most known for her recurring roles as super soldier Gigi on Marvel’s The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Sheriff Kim Dani Deetté, who plays Wyatt's mom, Wendy, on "The Runarounds" on Prime Video (photo from her PR EPK)Reddick on Netflix’s hit show Ozark, and Rori Barnhill in Season 3 of the USA Network show, The Sinner.
