Everyone arrived for the cotillion. Samantha got nervous because Donnell was late. The host for the event got sick so Chelsea and Kat agreed to take over hosting the event. Samantha was prepared to be her own escort for the cotillion. Francesca stepped on Samantha’s dress when she was about to proceed. Donnell was there to catch Samantha to keep her from falling. The debutantes were presented to everyone and danced. Jessica’s parents were happy about her performance on the dance floor. They thought she was acting like a video vixen. Nathan insulted Samantha, and Tyrell was ready to fight him. Ted told Tyrell to leave the event. June found Nathan drinking from a flask. Jessica told Tyrell that she wanted to finish what they started the other day. The time arrived to announce the Platinum Deb winner. Deanna shocked everyone by arriving for the moment.

Elon and Marcel were outside of the warehouse. Grayson and Jacob were waiting for the meeting. Randy and Derek found their way to the warehouse. The situation became very dangerous. Lia arrived at the warehouse too. She wanted to be part of the meeting. While she was there, she recognized Jacob and tried to strike a deal with him. Things got worse when Ren found out there was a leak. Ren wanted to get rid of Grayson. The police arrived at the warehouse. Derek to stop a bad guy and shots were fired.

When the envelope was opened, Deanna thought it was a mistake. While Anastasia was eavesdropping, she found out Francesca won and let everyone know. Dani was shocked. Anastasia took the sash and put the tiara on Francesca. It was revealed that Nathan switched the cards. Anastasia tried to fight it, but Samantha was the real Platinum Deb. Tyrell and Jessica made love. After they finished, he was worried about what would happen to them if they went to different colleges. Jessica’s parents were upset that Martin didn’t tell them that Jessica and Tyrell were missing. Vanessa was happy that her children were home. Things were okay until Deanna noticed that Joey was wearing Joey’s cuff links. Jacob wasn’t shot. It turned out he passed out from hitting his head. Derek was rushed to the hospital. Lia had chest pains and was taken to the hospital. Elon told Grayson he would find out who leaked what was going on. Naomi reunited with Jacob. Derek told Ashley not to be scared. He was taken to the operating room. Ashley was ready to go after Lia when she said she was grazed by the bullet. Lia went for treatment. Grayson told Ashley what happened. Vanessa went to see Joey to see if he had anything to do with what was going on. Joey told her that things could go wrong with his business. Ashley was shocked when Derek’s doctor talked to Shanice. The doctor said Derek didn’t make it.

Everyone got ready for the cotillion. Ted had a heart-to-heart talk with Vernon. While they were talking, Ted was excited to be part of the festivities. The women went to the Dupree mansion to get ready. Bill thought about past cotillions and realized he never asked Hayley about her past. Hayley tried to change the subject. She put more of the poison in his cocktail. When Bill suggested they go to her hometown so she could visit her family and best friend, Hayley snapped at him. Hayley calmed down, she told him that her family were mostly criminals that she wanted nothing to do with. Ren told Jacob that there was a big meeting with the plasma ring bosses who were thinking of moving their operation out of Garland. Jacob tried to get more information but it didn’t work. Lia called Ren to let him know that Grayson would be bringing the delivery from the clinic. Later on, Lia met with Derek. He didn’t want Grayson to be a part of the clinic. Lia convinced him to let Grayson be a part of it. Grayson gave Ashley a binder of the things she needed to take care of his mother if anything happened to him. Ashley panicked when Grayson made it seem like he wouldn’t survive. Later on, Grayson stole the plasma from the clinic. Derek caught Grayson stealing the plasma. When Derek threatened to call the police, Grayson said they already knew about it. Derek didn’t believe him. Grayson said Ashley’s life would be in danger if things didn’t go as planned.

Jacob and Smitty talked about the plasma ring. While they were talking Ren called Jacob to tell him about being at the warehouse for extra security. Smitty thought the case was starting to unfold. Jacob told him not to show up at the warehouse. He thought it was too risky. After Smitty left, Jacob called Elon to let him know that the Impaler would be at the meeting. They planned a raid at the warehouse. Elon told him that he was proud of him. Lia met with Grayson to talk about moving the product at the clinic. Grayson let her know that Derek only had him doing grunt work. He didn’t think he would get in the lab. Lia demanded that he get creative because it was a matter of life and death. Later Lia went to the police station to talk to Marcel. She became uncomfortable when she found out about the glitches in the hospital footage that Marcel discovered. Lia would look into what happened. After Lia left, Elon discussed the plan to bust the Impaler with Marcel. Marcel knew that Lia was the one who turned off the cameras at the hospital. They wanted to wait for her to slip up.

Grayson searched the clinic. He was almost caught when Eva showed up. Grayson watched Eva as she put the code into the secured cabinet. Jacob called Naomi and promised that the case would be over soon. Ted asked Monica to come to his office so he could get help with Shanice regarding Leslie. Shanice showed up and saw Monica. Monica thought she was pushing Ted away so she won’t get her heart broken again. She gave Shanice advice about relationships. Monica thought she should give Ted another chance. Vanessa talked to Nicole and advised her to make her dreams become a reality. Nicole let her know that sex wasn’t their problem. Their problems started because of the secrets he kept. Later Ted showed up at Nicole’s office, and she remembered the fantasy she had about him.

Nicole tried to calm Samantha’s nerves about the cotillion. While Nicole was talking to her, Francesca and Anastasia arrived at the club. Anastasia approached them, and she was very rude to them. She made comments about Samantha not being a biological Dupree. Anastasia also insulted June by calling her a drug addict. Nicole had enough and told her off. Francesca apologized to Samantha for what her grandmother said about her. She agreed with her grandmother, but she didn’t think she should say things like that out loud. Samantha had enough of them and couldn’t do it anymore. She decided to leave the country club. Anita was nervous to talk to Dr. Bauer about her next steps. They talked about how long it would take Anita’s hair to grow back and whether she should have a lumpectomy or a double mastectomy. Anita decided to get a lumpectomy. Vernon wanted her to focus on the cotillion and Chelsea’s wedding as well as the life they have together. Vanessa thought about Doug while she was talking to Joey about the cotillion. He got angry when he realized that Vanessa was looking for his sister. Joey thought she was trying to fix his life because she felt guilty about her own life. Vanessa got upset and stormed off.

Vanessa went to Uptown to meet with Donnell. They talked about Deanna. Deanna was doing better. Joey interrupted them to offer Donnell cufflinks that his uncle gave him. Donnell didn’t want them. Joey apologized for overstepping. After Joey left, Vanessa wanted the people in her life to co-exist. Later Donnell went to Joey’s office to apologize to him. Joey let him know that he wasn’t trying to replace his father. He wanted to be friends with him. Randy and Mona saw each other at Orphey Gene’s. She agreed to meet him for breakfast, but she pulled the breaks when he started flirting with her. Mona was a woman of substance. She wanted to know about Lynette. He told her that she was gone. Randy wondered why she bothered meeting with him. She wondered the same thing. Mona wanted him to go back to church.

Bill was shocked to find out that the woman suing Madison is being represented by his former employee, Mike. Mike threatened to destroy Madison’s career and reputation. He planned to delay the case until his client received a $40 million settlement. A reporter tried to question Madison and Chelsea. Chelsea got upset and knocked his phone out of his hand. The reporter threatened to sue her. Elon arrived at Orphey Gene’s and convinced the reporter to drop the charges. Later Chelsea and Madison went to Bill’s office. They found out that Mike sent the reporter to question Madison. Randy informed Joey that he knew who Smitty met with earlier. They thought Smitty met with a male prostitute. Later Joey confronted Smitty about it when he saw him. Smitty and Joey got into a heated argument. He called Jacob to tell him about his argument with Joey. Elon arrived at the casino to talk to Joey. While they were talking, Elon revealed too much information to Joey. Joey realized that Smitty and Jacob were investigating the plasma ring.

Naomi and Ashley talked about Lia being involved in the plasma ring, and the danger unfolding at the hospital. Lia heard them talking about Ashley breaking up with Grayson. After talking with Naomi, Ashley tried to get information from Grayson. She realized that Lia was listening to them so they had to play along. Grayson wanted Ashley to slap him, and she did it. Lia got involved and defended Ashley. She sent him to the lab. Smitty arrived at the hospital to get information. Ashley helped him by allowing him to get into Nicole’s office. Smitty and Ashley compared notes about the plasma ring. He told her that Grayson was a good person, but he was in over his head. Lia told Grayson that he was going to volunteer at Leslie’s clinic so he could steal plasma immediately.

Eva, Leslie, Ted, and Izaiah spent time together celebrating Eva’s birthday. Later on, they gave Eva her gifts. Izaiah let Eva know that she wouldn’t spend another birthday alone. While they were talking, he let it slip that he loved her. Eva said she wanted him to say that to her. She told him she loved him too. Nicole told Vanessa that she fantasized about Ted while she was in bed with Carlton. Vanessa asked if it was because it was her and Ted’s anniversary or did she want Ted back. She told Nicole to sleep with Ted so she could get him out of her system. Nicole refused to do it. When Nicole went to the bathroom, Leslie showed up. Leslie told Vanessa that she came from a dinner. Vanessa thought Leslie didn’t care about Marcel. Leslie said she still had feelings for Ted. Nicole ran into Ted and had another fantasy about him.

Hayley was upset that Naomi didn’t want to spend time with her and Bill. He talked them into spending time together. They talked about Mike coming back. Hayley said Mike was the worst thing that happened to the firm. Kat told Chelsea and Dani that a video of Madison and her girlfriend attacking a reporter at Orphey Gene’s went viral. They wanted to figure out a way to fix the situation. Chelsea said she couldn’t make a statement before talking to Naomi and Bill so she wouldn’t ruin Madison’s case. When Chelsea called Bill, he gave her advice on what to say. Smitty met with Tomas to find out about Lynette. Tomas wanted to exchange information. He told Smitty that Lynette accused him of being inappropriate. Tomas thought it might have had something to do with Hayley. He told Smitty that he thought Lynette might have left town. Smitty thought someone might have killed her.

Ted talked to Leslie about the way she treated Shanice. Leslie changed the subject by mentioning taking Eva out for dinner for her birthday. Ted was willing to go because he couldn’t see her on her birthday because of the cotillion. Later on, Leslie met up with Derek to rip into him for not letting Grayson volunteer at the clinic. She told him that his judgment was clouded. Derek said his apprehension wasn’t about Grayson dating Ashley. Leslie told him to get Grayson on board. Later on, Derek went to the hospital and told Ashley he was okay with her being with Grayson. Ashley told him she and Grayson broke up. She said Grayson wasn’t the man she thought he was. Since Ashley still had feelings for Grayson, she didn’t want to talk to him about it. Jacob and Naomi talked about his case. She got him to tell her what was going on. Naomi went to see Ashley and told her that Lia was the one putting her in danger.

Leslie met with Eva at Orphey Gene’s. She let Eva know that she and Ted were celebrating her birthday. Eva told her it wasn’t her birthday. Leslie said she wouldn’t forget her birthday. While they were talking, Eva told her that she was doing Samantha’s hair for the cotillion. Leslie told her that she was choosing the other side over her. She told Eva that she wanted to make up for the time the three of them lost being together. Eva agreed to the birthday dinner. At the hospital, Nicole told Dani that she thought about Ted while she was having sex with Carlton. Dani said it was part of letting go. They went to Anita to celebrate her last round of chemo. At the Duprees home, they celebrated Anita’s last round of chemo. She said she had a few more hurdles to overcome but there was no stopping her.

Nicole was in bed with Carlton and thought about Ted. She pulled away from him until she could clear her head. After Carlton left, she thought about Ted again. Ted wanted to have a romantic dinner with Shanice, but she turned him down. She didn’t like how he defended Leslie to her. Lia approached Ashley and had questions for her about Grayson. Ashley informed her that she broke up with Grayson. Lia seemed pleased about the news. She told someone that Ashley and Grayson broke up. Ted explained to Shanice that he had a living reminder of what he did to destroy his marriage. Shanice reminded him that he slept with Leslie again even though he knew what type of person she was. He blamed his mistake on drinking. Ted insisted that he wasn’t a bad person. Grayson was at the hotel and was freaked out by Smitty’s arrival. Jacob showed up at the hotel too. Grayson said he was done with the mess. Jacob threatened to arrest him. He sent Smitty home so he could be alone with Grayson. Grayson told him that he and Ashley broke up. He agreed to give him the name of his boss, but he wanted immunity. They talked about the deal Grayson wanted. He admitted that his contact was Lia.

Naomi went to see Martin to get information about Jacob and Smitty’s undercover work. She didn’t get the answers she was looking for. Naomi and Martin talked about him running for Senator and the cotillion. Smitty arrived at home. He and Martin agreed to forget about everything and talk about the cotillion. They are about to have a romantic evening when Jacob called Smitty. He told him that Lia was Grayson’s contact at the hospital. Lia was mad when Ren told her that there was an issue with a pickup. She told him that they had bigger fish to fry and looked in Ashely’s direction.
