Since there wasn’t much movement in the storylines this week, we decided to do something different with the opinions article. We hope that you enjoy it. It may happen again if there’s movement in the stories.
Biggest waste of screen time: The Body & Soul storyline We have read different message boards and blogs, so we know we’re not alone with this vote. The Body & Soul episodes are such a waste of airtime. The writers are trying to be tongue-in-cheek with this story, but it doesn’t work that well. We give the actors/actresses an A for their effort, but the story doesn’t work with the show. The writers wasted two episodes on Hattie and Bonnie’s fight behind the scenes. They also wasted time on Johnny and Chanel’s argument over her scenes with Alex. The actors are trying their best to make this a fun story, but it’s just a waste of screen time. Diedre Hall and Judi Evans have been involved in better storylines, so this shouldn’t be the only way they get airtime. Unfortunately, the writers won’t show them much without the soap storyline. Marlena gets airtime in psychiatrist mode, but she can do more than that. Johnny and Chanel’s storyline stalled after the death of their child. Are we supposed to believe this is the best they could do with their characters? If that’s the case, they could have written them off the show and sent them to California the way they were supposed to earlier in the year.
Useless triangle: Tate, Holly and Sophia The writers need fresh stories to tell. They aren’t getting off to a great start with Tate/Holly/Sophia’s storyline. The audience needs new couples to root for, but they didn’t hit the mark with Tate and Holly. Their love story is tainted because she didn’t love him. She was head over heels in love with Johnny and then suddenly fell in love with Tate. They don’t have chemistry since Tate was recast. We couldn’t care less about them being together. For some reason, the writers chose to “spice up” their relationship by including Sophia in their storyline. Tate doesn’t like Sophia, so there’s no story. Characters must be torn to make a storyline work, and Tate doesn’t have feelings for Sophia. The writers are wasting their time with the triangle. Sophia forced a kiss on Tate, but it didn’t matter because he wasn’t interested in her. We shouldn’t have to endure a triangle when there won’t be a payoff. The audience may not care who Tate chooses because the story is boring.
Spoiled Brat: Holly Holly deserves this award because her behavior has been reprehensible. She lied to Tate, so she could investigate his father and expected him to be okay with it. Tate had every right to get upset with Holly for what she did. She got into an argument with Sophia and slapped her. It was okay when Holly said her peace, but Sophia wasn’t allowed to hit her below the belt. Holly was the one who used Sophia when she knew that she liked Tate first. It’s obvious Holly believes every man in Salem should want her, so it was okay that she went after Tate. Now we’re supposed to cheer her on when she slapped Sophia. We were waiting for Sophia to hit her back, but it didn’t happen. Fast forward to the end of the week and Holly was throwing a tantrum because Nicole left her in Salem to follow Eric to Paris. Did Holly forget that she didn’t want to go with Nicole to Paris? She went on and on about Nicole not being there for her when she could be in Paris.
Biggest Wimp (For now): Brady Brady talked with Marlena about Kristen and what she was willing to do to help him get out of prison. He seemed like he was torn when Marlena asked if he had feelings for her. We stared at the TV in complete shock. After everything they have been through, why would he want to consider being with her? He needs to clear his head and move on with his life. Brady knew she destroyed his life and took Rachel from him, but he thought about her having feelings.
Convenient plot point: Rolf’s discovery Rolf conveniently developed something that could help Sarah walk again. Kristen needed to find a way to help Brady by any means necessary, and Rolf suddenly appeared. He came up with something that would make Kristen and the company rich. Kristen asked if it would work for spinal injuries, and he believed it could work for that. The writers had to come up with something to make sure that Sarah could walk again. No one really thought she would remain in a wheelchair. Rolf didn’t try the experiment out yet, so it might not work. Kristen jumped on using it to blackmail Xander into leaving Brady alone. It was very convenient that Rolf was working on something like that because Brady needed a way to get out of what Fiona did to Sarah.

Interview with Arlen Scarpeta of “Found” on NBC by Suzanne 9/10/24
This was such an enjoyable interview with Arlen, who plays Zeke on “Found” and seems like a great guy. If you aren’t that familiar with the show, Zeke is the one that has agoraphobia (is afraid to leave his place). He has some great scenes at the beginning of this season. No spoilers here! Escarpeta is best known for co-starring in the OWN series “David Makes Man,” from executive producers Oprah Winfrey and Michael B. Jordan. Previous TV credits include “Grimm,” “Extant,” “American Dreams,” “Boston Public,” “House,” “Law & Order: SVU” and the Lifetime film “Whitney.”
On the film side, Escarpeta earned critical acclaim for his breakout role in the IFC drama “American Gun,” making its premiere at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival and starring Forest Whitaker, Marcia Gay Harden and Donald Sutherland. Earlier film roles include Carl Franklin’s courtroom thriller “High Crimes,” opposite Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd.

Interview with Bárbara Mori and Fernando Rovzar of “Women in Blue” AKA “Las Azules” on Apple TV+ by Suzanne 9/18/24
This is such a wonderful series, and everyone should watch it. It takes places in 1970, when women were encouraged to join the police department in Mexico City, only to find that they’re being used for political reasons. The women then have to prove themselves in the search for a serial killer targeting young women. María, Valentina, Gabina and Ángeles are the focus of the show as we learn about each of them and how they work together. It’s intriguing both as a look back on how women were treated then, and as a riveting police drama. Mori starts as María, so I was delighted to speak with her and Rovzar. He created and wrote the show, as well as directed some of the episodes. I didn’t know (until María mentioned it in this interview) that the two of them are married. I was fascinated to learn more about the creation and filming of show after watching many of the episodes. I hope you enjoy our interview as well! Tomorrow is the series finale, so don’t miss it! It’s worth binge-watching. If you don’t like to read subtitles, and you don’t know Spanish, you can watch it in English (dubbed). They have all of those options for you on Apple TV+, which is great. Did the writers forget that Eric isn’t technically Tate’s uncle? We know they want us to believe that Eric and Brady are brothers and that’ fine. The problem is that they forget that Tate is related to Eric through Theresa too. He’s also his cousin.
Sarah heard Xander talking from the door but didn’t hear Fiona talking beside her. She also didn’t hear her grab the pillow and put it on her face.
Fiona’s flashback could be heard before it was shown.
Holly cried without any tears.

Jada knocked on the door a few times, but the door suddenly opened on its own.
Connie’s pocketbook looked empty. It was as flat as a palm when she took her knife out of her bag.
Paulina took a long time to get help when Rafe woke up. She also could have pushed his buzzer instead of leaving his room to look for Kayla.
Abby shouldn’t have talked to Stefano’s portrait out loud when she knew she could have been caught.
Thursday
The bruises on Sarah’s face were cleared up.
Brady conveniently didn’t hear Fiona admit that she was the one who hit Sarah. She practically screamed the confession, but he didn’t hear what she said.
Kristen was clearly showing her tablet to the camera because she had it tilted to the side while she read it.
Friday
How come there was no one else in the office at Brady Black? It looked like Brady was the only one who worked there.
Marlena could be heard talking while Fiona was shown.
Brady didn’t want to risk both of Rachel’s parents being in jail, but he was okay with Tate’s parents going to jail.
Holly wasn’t helping Sarah, but she knew she was having trouble getting around in her wheelchair.

We may be in the minority, but we are having trouble believing Holly’s anger about what Eric did to Daniel. For those who are new to the show, Eric was driving drunk and killed Daniel. It’s understandable that Holly would be upset that she was lied to about her father’s death, but we don’t buy it. Her acting isn’t genuine at all. Holly didn’t know Daniel so it’s hard to believe that she cared that much. Before you get shocked by what you read, please continue reading. Holly knew Eric as a father figure and now she’s treating him like dirt. She was raised by her mother her entire life, but she treated her like dirt. Maybe we’re being heartless, but we don’t feel her pain at all. We lost our father (R.I.P Daddy) so we know how that feels, but we were raised by our dad. She never knew Daniel, so her bitterness doesn’t feel genuine. Instead of cheering her on, we were rolling our eyes at her. Holly was right to get upset with Eric for the lie. She didn’t seem torn about her feelings at all. Holly went from zero to sixty with nothing in between. She was willing to hate Eric instantly without saying that she loved him, and he hurt her. We don’t feel sorry for Eric because he’s not a saint, but it’s hard to sympathize with Holly.
Speaking of Holly, she didn’t care about Sarah at all until she found out that Brady was accused of hitting her while he was drinking. She didn’t say two words to Sarah after she helped her recover from her drug overdose, but now we’re supposed to believe that she cares so much about Sarah’s accident. We know that she only cared because she felt guilty for her role in the accident. She also wants to take her anger at Eric out on Brady. When did Holly because the moral police? If she and Tate weren’t sneaking around the accident might have been prevented. Fiona might have hit someone else that night because Sarah wouldn’t have been on the road that night to get the keys for the cabin. She wants to help EJ prosecute Brady for the hit-and-run accident. Holly was willing to forgive EJ for what happened even though he knew what Eric did to Daniel. She should be mad at everyone who kept the truth from her, but she was mad at Eric and Tate. We know the writers must give Holly and Tate something to do now that Theresa and Nicole were written out, but this was ridiculous. Holly targeting Tate’s father won’t help them be a couple.
Speaking of Tate and Holly’s relationship, let’s briefly talk about the slant the writers put on Sophia’s character. For some reason, the writers chose to make her the villain in the story. She was the one who liked Tate first when Holly had feelings for Johnny. For some reason, she looks like a schemer since plotted against Holly and Tate to cause trouble. Holly kept the truth from her that Tate didn’t want her, but she looks like she’s suffering because of her. We want to see what Sophia does to Holly and Tate since they went behind her back and hooked up.
Stefan might be getting his karma for what he did to Chad. He was upset that EJ slept with Gabi. Did he forget that he did the same thing to Chad? Stefan’s actions are supposed to be okay because he didn’t know about Abby’s DID, but he still had an affair with her. Fast forward and he’s upset that Gabi slept with EJ. We think he got what he deserved when EJ did the same thing to him. Gabi didn’t have to jump in bed with his brother, but he knows how that feels. For some reason, Johnny judged EJ for being with Gabi. He understood why Stefan slept together, but he thought it was wrong for him to be with Gabi.
Is anyone else ready to throw something at Brady whenever he’s shown? We know that we are. His family wants to help him, but he insists on being punished. He thinks that getting punished will make up for what he thinks he did to Sarah. Earlier in the week, he wanted Ava to keep the fact that she saw him with Fiona quiet. We don’t understand why he would do that when that would prove he could be innocent. He insisted that she didn’t tell anyone that she saw him with her. It didn’t make any sense because he didn’t remember hitting Sarah and that could explain it. He’s trying so hard to be a martyr in the story. We know that he’s innocent, but he doesn’t know. His family has to beg him not to plead guilty because he would lose his family. He knows he has people who want him around, but he refuses to listen to them.
Fiona should feel bad for what she did to Sarah and Brady. She just made up with Xander, and she’s going to ruin her relationship with him again. Fiona hit Sarah and didn’t say anything about it. She allowed was willing to smother Sarah to keep her from talking about what she did. If she cared about her son, she wouldn’t have tried to kill his wife twice. She also allowed Brady to take the fall for her crime. Fiona told Xander and Sarah not to pursue Brady because it’s not worth it. If you committed the crime, you wouldn’t want them to pursue it either.

I just love chatting with these actors, which I’ve done several times now; it was great to also meet Emily (the creator/writer). They’re all extremely nice and fun. Emily has an amazing enthusiasm that I’ve rarely seen in anyone I’ve talked to, let alone a writer, producer or showrunner. Don’t miss Tim and Mel’s return to this delightful universe that Emily created. I hope this special is very successful, so that they can do another special, movie or TV series. You should be able to enjoy it even if you’ve never seen it before, I’m told. I apologize that the videos are on speaker mode and not gallery like usual… This was some glitch with the PR and not with me! I always prefer gallery mode. Enjoy!

Interview with Lea Thompson, Schuyler Fisk, Genevieve Angelson and Wendie Malick of “The Chicken Sisters” on Hallmark+ by Suzanne 8/19/24
These were two fun interviews! I was so glad to speak to the legendary actresses, Wendie and Lea, whose work I’ve enjoyed so much over the years. The other two young actresses also do a great job in the show. Everyone was very nice. Fun fact: Schuyler Fisk is the daughter of movie star Sissy Spacek! Anyway, the show is not only funny but heart-warming. However, it’s not sappy or saccharine. I enjoyed the episodes I’ve seen so far. Hallmark is starting their first streaming channel, Hallmark+, and this is one of their first original series on it. You can only watch this series on Hallmark+. It begins Tuesday, Sept. 10, and new episodes will premiere every Thursday beginning on September 12. I hope you enjoy the series as much I do! It’s worth adding another streaming service for this. You can always try it with the free trial and see if you like it.

SCHUYLER FISK (Amanda Moore Hillier) – Schuyler Fisk’s long and respected acting career began at the age of 11 years old when she starred in (the now cult-favorite film) The Baby-sitter’s Club. Most recently, Fisk starred in the titular role of Kate in the well-received indie film (and Austin Film Festival audience award winner), Sam & Kate. Deadline film reviewer Pete Hammond said, “Fisk is just terrific here, and like her real-life mom seems incapable of a false note.” Other feature films of note include, include Orange County with Jack Black and Colin Hanks, I’m Reed Fish with Jay Baruchel, Gus Van Sant’s film Restless and The Best of Me.
With her vibrant voice and honest songwriting, Fisk also draws legions of fans to her music, both onstage and online, where she enjoys an active grassroots following as a top indie artist. After a decade of touring, songwriting and collaborating with other artists, she came onto the scene with a bang in 2009, when her first album The Good Stuff debuted on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart and at #1 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Chart. She then went on to release a number of records and singles under her own moniker as well as a few with side-projects, including her duo FM Radio, with whom she performed as a musical guest on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. GENEVIEVE ANGELSON (Mae Moore) – Actress Genevieve Angelson has built a strong reputation for starring in a diverse array of memorable roles across film, television and theater.
Angelson is most-well known for her starring role as Patti Robinson on Amazon’s critically-acclaimed series Good Girls Revolt. The series followed a group of women at a 1960s magazine who pushed back against gender boundaries.
This past year, Angelson has starred in a number of memorable roles, and can currently be seen as Alanis Wheeler on the fifth season of Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale. Additionally, she starred as Indigo on Apple TV+’s The Afterparty with Tiffany Haddish and Ike Barenholtz, as well as Dr. Mia Castries on NBC’s New Amsterdam and Sally on This is Us.

In film, Angelson recently co-starred in the romantic comedy, Which Brings Me to You opposite Lucy Hale and Nat Wolff, for BCDF Pictures.
Angelson originated the role of Nina in the Broadway production of NinaVanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike on Broadway opposite Sigourney Weaver, which won the Tony Award for Best Play. She also starred in the Off-Broadway production of The Cake at the Manhattan Theater Club.

LEA THOMPSON (Nancy Hillier) – Lea Thompson has had a remarkable career as an artist of many colors over the last four decades. She is probably best known for Back to the Future and Switched at Birth, but her career has encompassed acting, directing, singing, dancing in ballet, theatre, films and television.
Thompson started in ballet at the Minnesota Dance Theater and the Pennsylvania Ballet. She moved into acting an has amassed more that 50 feature films to her credit such as Red Dawn, Back to the Future, Some Kind of Wonderful, Howard the Duck, Little Rascals, Dennis the Menace, Beverly Hillbillies, All the Right Moves, J Edgar, Little Women and The Trouble with the Truth. In television series, highlights are starring in Caroline in the City, Jane Doe and Switched at Birth along with many guest star spots in series such as Friends, Tales from the Crypt and Scorpion. Now a veteran director now in television, Thompson has helmed Jane Doe, Switched at Birth, The Goldbergs, Star Girl, Star Trek: Picard, Resident Alien and Will Trent. She made her feature film directorial debut with The Year of Spectacular Men on which she collaborated with her daughters Madelyn and Zoey Deutch. Stage singing and acting credits include I love My Wife and as Sally Bowles in Cabaret on Broadway.
Lea often performs at events for the Alzheimer’s Association, Michael J Fox Foundation and breast cancer charities. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband of 35 years, Howard Deutch, and a menagerie of dogs, fish, horses and chickens.
WENDIE MALICK (Augusta “Gus” Moore) – Wendie Malick has graced screens with an illustrious film and television career for decades. She received four Cable Ace awards for her role in HBO’s groundbreaking comedy, Dream On and garnered a Golden Globe and two Emmy Nominations for her iconic role, Nina Van Horn, in Just Shoot Me! Malick also starred in Hot In Cleveland, for which she and her cast mates earned a People’s Choice Award, and a SAG nomination for Best Ensemble. Other series included Frasier, Big Day, Good Company, and Rush Hour, as well as recurring roles on The Ranch, American Housewife, This Is Us, Pitch, Darrow & Darrow and NYPD Blue.

I’m a lifelong Trekkie, so I’m always happy to speak with anyone from the franchise. I’ve spoken with Doug (who played Saru) before, but he’s just such a nice and fun guy to chat with, that I was happy to speak with him again about the release of the show’s final season, as well as the complete series, on DVD, Blu-Ray™ and Limited Edition Blu-Ray™ Steelbook. Doug Jones

While famous for working under prosthetics in iconic feature film roles, Doug Jones is also a versatile character actor who has performed as himself in guest star roles on shows like “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Teen Wolf,” “Z-Nation,” “The Neighbors,” “Criminal Minds,” “C.S.I.” and NBC’s horror anthology “Fear Itself.” A veteran of over 100 commercials, Doug was Mac Tonight, the moon-headed piano player in the long-running 1990s McDonald’s campaign. He also starred as the lead villain in “Hush,” an Emmy-winning episode of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” long considered a fan favorite. Doug was also a semi-regular guest judge on the hit SyFy Net reality series “Face Off.”
In 2005 he played the title role of Pan (as well as the nightmare character known as The Pale Man) in Guillermo del Toro’s Oscar-winning Spanish language fantasy/horror feature “Pan’s Labyrinth.” But it was his sensitive and elegant performance as Abe Sapien in del Toro’s 2004 box office hit “Hellboy” that brought Doug’s unique work to a wider audience. He went on to voice that same character for the Emmy-nominated Cartoon Network animations “Hellboy: Sword of Storms” and “Hellboy: Blood and Iron.” In 2007 Doug’s title role performance in “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” was hailed by fans and critics alike. 2008 saw Doug reprise his starring role (as well as two other characters) in “Hellboy II: The Golden Army,” once more under the direction of del Toro. He also starred in “Gainsbourg,” a stylized biopic of the famous French poet/singer/composer Serge Gainsbourg, in which he plays Gainsbourg’s dark alter ego. The film has won three Cesar Awards. Doug has also had prominent creature roles in “Crimson Peak,” “The Watch,” “The Bye Bye Man,” “Legion,” “Hocus Pocus” and many others.
Jones was a series regular on three seasons of TNT’s Spielberg-produced sci-fi series “Falling Skies” and recurred on Guillermo del Toro’s FX series “The Strain.” Upcoming, Jones will star opposite Sally Hawkins in del Toro’s “The Shape of Water.”
Elias Toufexis is a Canadian actor. He has played characters on television and in video games, mostly in science fiction and fantasy genres.
He has played dozens of major characters on television in shows like: Star Trek: Discovery, FBI, FBI Most Wanted, Shadowhunters, Criminal Minds, Bitten, Lost Girl, Alphas, Stargate: Atlantis and particularly memorable characters on: Supernatural and The Expanse.
He is one of the busiest Performance Capture actors in the world, with characters in video games, films, and television. Variety has called him “The Canadian Andy Serkis”
In the video-game world, he’s played leading characters in many multi-million dollar projects. The Assassin’s Creed Series, The Deus Ex Series, Gotham Knights, The Call Of Duty Series, The Fortnite Series, The Splinter Cell Series, The Far Cry Series, The Immortals Fenyx Rising series, and dozens more. He has a cult following around the world for his work in Performance Capture and Voice in Videogames.
Forbes Magazine called him a “voice-acting heavyweight”. In Animation, you can hear Elias is multiple animated series and films. Most recently in the Netflix Animated series Blood Of Zeus and in Adult Swim’s Blade Runner Black Lotus. You can also hear him as the voice of Yellow Pages, McDonald’s, Lexus Cars, Taco Bell, and many many more radio and TV voice-over commercials.
Kayla told Steve about Sarah’s condition. We’re pretty sure she wasn’t supposed to do that.
It’s hard to believe that Jack didn’t have time to call Steve to let him know that Jennifer was in town. Why didn’t Steve go with them to meet Abby?
Melinda was stupid to go to Connie’s place by herself when she fired her. She may not know what Connie did, but she should have had someone with her when she went to Connie’s place.
Chad managed not to hear all of Abby’s conversation.
Connie was yelling at the Li stand, but Melinda didn’t hear her talking.
Melinda drank the tea that Connie offered to her. You would think that she wouldn’t have drunk it since she fired Connie.
Tuesday
Johnny was making a movie about Marlena, but he didn’t realize that Hattie wasn’t his grandmother. He should have realized who she was because Hattie doesn’t dress like Marlena.
Chanel suddenly hired people to work at Sweet Bits. The place barely reopened, and she suddenly had the staff that she’s bored.
Kate conveniently knew where to find Leo. She doesn’t visit him, but she was able to find out where he was staying.
Wednesday
Brady had a visual flashback of his conversation with Fiona. They were on the phone, so he shouldn’t have seen her face.
Fiona talked about what she did to Sarah, but Xander managed not to hear it.
Sarah’s bruises looked different. At the start of the episode, she had more bruises, but they were gone later.
Thursday
Who told Doug about Jennifer’s meeting with Abby? Why wouldn’t anyone tell Julie first?
Why would Abby talk to the mystery person in the living room? Anyone could have heard her.
EJ managed not to hear everything that Abby said on the phone.
How much of the drug did Melinda drink when she didn’t die, but Everett passed away from it?
EJ told Abby about Chad’s brothers, but he forgot to include Peter and Benjy. He mentioned Andre and Tony, so he could have mentioned them as well.
Friday
Abby has more clothes than she had when she arrived in Salem.
Fiona’s flashback could be heard before it was shown.
Sarah’s bruises looked like they were almost healed up.
Sarah referred to Tate by his first and last name to Xander as if he didn’t know him. Did she forget they are related?

Gabi confronted Stefan and Ava about their affair. She gave them the rope to hang themselves by giving them a chance to come clean. Stefan chose to deny it until the end. Gabi dropped the bomb on them by saying that Kristen confirmed what she suspected. We aren’t invested in Gabi and Stefan’s story, but we enjoy watching drama unfold. She yelled at them and was ready to fight Ava. We love a good cat fight, so we enjoyed watching Gabi go after Ava. Gabi planned on getting revenge on Stefan and Ava, so we’re ready to watch what she does. Hopefully watching the revenge unfold will hold our interest. The new Gabi knows how to do confrontation scenes. She needs work when it comes to regular dialogue, but she’s pretty good when it concerns making a spectacle of herself.
We find it hard to believe that Melinda is supposed to be a former D.A. She didn’t have to Salem brain. She chose to fire Connie by herself. Most of us know that managers won’t let you go by themselves. They want to intimidate employees by ganging up on them. She chose to go to her place by herself. We don’t have to be psychic to know that Melinda didn’t tell anyone except Ava about being at Connie’s place. She loses more points in the brains department because she drank Connie’s tea. Connie offered her tea after she fired her, and she drank it. Melinda wasn’t smart to do that. Would you drink something after you fired someone? Is it wise to drink tea when the person who offered it to you didn’t drink any of it?
Is anyone else sick and tired of Connie getting away with everything? We know that we are tired of it. She was able to drug Melinda’s tea, and she drank it. Connie also decided to be a talkative killer. She told Melinda everything about how she felt about Gabi and Stefan. Connie conveniently knew that Melinda didn’t tell anyone about being at her place. Melinda made that easy for her by not telling anyone. She was able to keep her captive without anyone knowing what she did. We can’t stress enough that we don’t believe that the actress playing Connie is good enough to keep portraying the character. She may be a fan of the show, but that doesn’t mean that she should have a big role in it. The actress needs more acting lessons if she’s going to pull off a big story like that.
Brady needs to stop drinking so much. He wouldn’t be in the mess that he’s in now if he didn’t drink. Fiona framed him for what happened to Sarah. She hit Sarah and paralyzed her. Fiona put Brady in the driver’s seat because she didn’t want to take the fall for what she did. If he didn’t get drunk, she wouldn’t have been able to set him up for the hit-and-run. Speaking of Fiona, we are getting tired of watching her get away with what she did. She isn’t being subtle with the things she’s done. Fiona speaks loudly, but no one hears anything. Xander will make him pay once he finds out that he was involved in the accident. Someone managed to take Brady’s car from the townhouse, so he would have to deal with someone else knowing what happened. We have a feeling Kristen was the one who moved the car, but we’ll see.
Why are the writers wasting their time with the Body & Soul storyline? The story is a waste and doesn’t need to be added to the show. It’s clearly for comic relief purposes, but it’s a waste of time. Too many cast members are going to be involved in this story, but it doesn’t work. Abe is acting like he’s the only one in charge of the show. Everyone suddenly wants to be an actor or involved in the show in some way. We get that the show feels heavy right now, but they don’t need this story to feature an ensemble. Hopefully the show doesn’t get dominated by this storyline.

Interview with Trent Dawson of “As The World Turns” on CBS by Suzanne 8/5/24
I really enjoyed this interview with Trent. I just loved his character on “As The World Turns,” where he played Henry Coleman. You may have also seen him in “The Marvelous Miss Maisel,” “General Hospital,” or in one of his guest-starring roles. He’s an amazing actor, and now he’s also a producer, director and so much more with his Katonah Classic Stage (NY regional theater). Besides producing two plays a year, his group also puts on a film festival in the summer; this year’s is tomorrow, August 10 in Katonah (in Westchester, near New York). This season’s play, “A Case for the Existence of God” premieres in October.

Tate was upset when he found out about his mother. If he weren’t scheming to be with Holly, he would have known what she did.
How is Holly able to get back and forth to the Horton cabin without anyone knowing that she went.
Why didn’t Roman include Marlena in his plans to throw Eric and Nicole a going away party? She might have wanted to help throw the party too.
Nicole had a pocketbook with her one minute, and it was gone the next.
Tuesday
No one ever sees Connie walking around. She doesn’t attempt to hide, but no one sees anything.
Stephanie thought Leo would keep her secret from getting out. He told her that he needed content for his article so why would he keep her secret quiet?
Bobby threatened Connie. He heard her say that she never gets caught, so why would he threaten her?
Connie knows too much about Bobby’s life considering they didn’t know each other before she approached him about killing Li.
Wednesday
Leo managed not to hear Connie in Bobby’s room. She was talking loud, but he managed not to hear her.
Stephanie didn’t have to refer to Leo by his full name. Jada should know who Leo is, so she didn’t have to call him by his full name.
Jack claimed that Jennifer knew that he and Chad dug up Abby’s body. It’s not likely that she wouldn’t have come back to Salem to help find her.
Jada called Rafe “Detective Hernandez.” He is the commissioner of the police department.
Connie conveniently heard Ava talking about sleeping with Stefan. Ava wasn’t talking loud, but Connie managed to hear her.
Thursday
Jada and Stephanie didn’t call for help right away. They basically just watched Bobby before they tried to get him help.
The pill bottle that was on Bobby’s nightstand was closer to the pillow in Wednesday’s episode, but it was closer to Jada in Thursday’s episode.
Ava didn’t hear Connie talking about her sleeping with Stefan, and she was in the same room with her. Connie conveniently heard Ava talking about her affair, and she wasn’t in the room. Ava wasn’t talking loudly at all when Connie heard her.
It took the paramedics a long time to get to Bobby.
Stephanie cried without any tears.
Friday
Marlena said that they invited Brady to Eric’s going away party, but she wasn’t part of the plan. When did she invite Brady to the party?
Marlena said she didn’t hear from Brady, but he told her that he was at the office. She obviously heard from him after all.
Xander managed not to hear Fiona and Brady talking in her room. Fiona was talking loud when she wanted Brady to sneak out her room.

Nicole and Eric had their going away party this week. We may be alone here, but we aren’t upset that they are leaving. The writers also squandered an opportunity to finish Nicole’s story properly. Arianne Zucker’s departure has been announced for months so they had time to write a proper farewell to a actress who has been with the show for 25 years. With that said, Nicole didn’t find out what Holly did. Holly snuck to the Horton cabin to be with Tate. She’s been spending time with him, and it happened right under Nicole’s nose. Where’s the confrontation and pay off for that? Why did Holly get to decide that she was staying in Salem? Nicole is the parent and she let. 17 year old child tell her that she wasn’t going with her. Is Nicole that much of a wimp? She should have made Holly go with her. Nicole didn’t seem too disappointed by it since she could focus on her life with Eric and Jude. She only cares about her child with Eric. Nicole has the little family she always wanted so she is fine to leave. We know that Arianne Zucker and Greg Vaughn were written out, but the writers could have written a better story than that. It was a slap in the face for someone who spent so many years on the show.
What are the writers thinking with the Body and Soul storyline? They are wasting time having Kate and Abe involved in this soap within a soap storyline. This is not the comic relief we need right now. We know it’s an excuse to give Diedre Hall something else to do. Unfortunately, we don’t need to see Hattie again. She’s not an integral character on the show so we don’t need her back. Diedre Hall probably enjoys playing her to get a break from Marlena, but she’s a waste of a character. We would rather the writers give Abe and Kate better stories than this.
Speaking of a waste of characters, when are the writers getting rid of Connie? She is getting shoved down our throats. Connie killed Li and Bobby. The writers put her in the middle of two stories for no reason. She always hears everything no matter what. Connie has great timing to hear things that other people say no matter how close they are. Other people can’t hear conversations when they are practically in the room with other characters. Now she has killed Bobby. He’s a useless character too. We’re not upset that he’s gone. There was no need to write his character into the show. He was another useless character who provided anything to the show. His character was written out and looked like a killer. Who knows when Connie will get caught for what she did.
Marlena might have to reconsider her career. She didn’t notice that Bobby was pretending to be Everett. Marlena was the one who allowed him to check out because she believed he was Everett. She is supposed to be a great psychiatrist, but she didn’t realize that he was faking. It might be time to do something else with her life if she couldn’t tell he was lying to get out of Bayview.
Why do the writers keep having Brady spiral out of control? How many times do we have to see him fall off the wagon? We know that people get weak, but he always falls off the wagon. It feels like that’s the only story the writers know how to give him. Now he’s hooking up with Fiona. He’s hooking up with Xander’s mother because of Theresa. Brady wasn’t with Theresa, so it didn’t make sense for him to fall off the wagon because of her. We feel like the writers don’t know what to do with Brady anymore.

It was fun to speak to these two actors. You don’t want to miss this epic series, which stars Sir Anthony Hopkins (among many others). It has a huge cast. It’s filmed more like a movie than a TV show. If you loved “Spartacus” or “Gladiator,” you should love this one as well. I love the characters, the politics and the action. It starts 7/18!

Gabriella Pession plays “Antonia”. An American-Italian actress born November 2, 1977 in Florida, she starred in the TV show Crossing Lines 2013 to 2015. It’s always enjoyable to speak with these actors and producers! They’re a good crew, both on- and off-screen. I’m a huge scifi fan, and I like how Devlin’s shows always have a lot of fun and action as well as good characters and drama. Season Two has even more going on than season one. Stacey Read was born and grew up in Zimbabwe, the daughter of a Zimbabwean mother and British father. She first started acting in her Senior School drama club and it was there performing in school plays that she found passion. She soon came to the UK to train at Performance Preparation Academy.
It was obvious that Eric wasn’t talking to Holly on the phone. He didn’t give Holly a chance to respond to some of the things he said before he spoke again.
Gabi was in prison when Sloan switched Nicole’s paternity test so she shouldn’t have known she did it.
Nicole planned to leave the DiMera mansion without taking Holly with her.
Nicole didn’t have Jude’s stroller with her when she left the mansion, but she had it when she went to the airport.

If Gabi was so worried about Arianna, she should move out to wherever Will and Sonny are living with her this week.
Brady referred to Eric as his brother as if Theresa wasn’t related to him.
EJ had the fireplace going in the summertime. Salem may be a fictional town, but it’s still summertime.

Connie conveniently found Bobby’s room at Bayview.
How did Leo know where Marlena lived?
Rafe and Jada were able to find their way to the plot where Abby was buried without anyone taking them there. If anyone has been in a cemetery, you know it’s hard to find plots without any help.
Who was watching Chad’s kids? Doug and Julie were with Kayla, and Chad was with Jack at the cemetery.

If Ava didn’t want Gabi to know that she slept with Stefan, why did she mention it so freely?
Why would Li tell Connie where he lived when they only went out on one date?
Gabi didn’t hear Kristen and Ava talking about Stefan.
Connie didn’t have blood on her dress after she killed Li. When Bobby saw her there was blood on her dress.
Connie knows too much about people in Salem when she never interacts with them. She conveniently knew Gill and that he was Ava’s boss.
Connie was hidden behind a door so she shouldn’t have seen Gill with Li. It should have been an audio flashback and not a visual one.
Marlena needs to lose her license since she couldn’t tell that Bobby was pretending to be Everett.

It was a week of flashbacks. For some reason, the writers drowned the episodes with flashbacks. Most of the week was filled with flashbacks of Connie and Bobby. Connie kept thinking about Li and everything that happened after the murder. Bobby flashed back to seeing Connie after she murdered Li. We know the writers wanted to show the audience what happened when Li was killed, but they didn’t have to go overboard with the flashbacks. There were only two days out of the week that didn’t feature flashbacks which means there were too many shown.
Speaking of Li’s murder, we felt completely ripped off by the outcome. We didn’t really care who killed him in the first place, but the writers made the killer someone who was on for about two episodes. Connie went out with Li one time and suddenly became obsessed with him. The woman who plays Connie won a role on the show and became part of a major story for the week. It was such a waste of time because she’s an insignificant character. Thankfully we didn’t invest much interest in the mystery, but other fans might have liked the story. It’s a letdown for the killer to be a minor character. Bobby’s involvement in the story makes even less sense. Let’s get to that now.
Bobby suddenly had the answer to who really killed Li. He conveniently saw Connie in the park the night she stabbed Li. Connie was stupid enough to admit out loud that she stabbed Li. It’s convenient how he knew to keep that information to himself until he approached Jada with it. There was no need for him to know that information when he wasn’t in town at the time it happened. The writers clearly want to make Bobby’s role bigger by tying him to Li’s murder and to Connie. His role doesn’t need to be any bigger than it is. He and Connie are now in cahoots with each other. Connie suddenly realized that he was Jada’s ex and heard them talking about the investigation. She put two and two together to figure out that he was the one who saw her in the park. Connie suddenly knows everything about everyone in Salem. She told Bobby that Jada went home to Rafe every night. Connie had no way of knowing about Jada and Rafe, but she threw them up in his face like she did. She offered to take care of Rafe if he stopped talking about the murder investigation. Bobby jumped at the opportunity. We’ll get into that in the next section.
As we said, Bobby jumped at the opportunity to take Connie’s deal. He did his part by pretending that he was Everett again to get out of Bayview. As Everett, he wouldn’t have any memories of what Bobby saw in the park. His plan worked, and Marlena made sure he was released. Marlena clearly needs to think about getting out of psychiatry if she couldn’t tell that Bobby was pretending to be Jude. On a side note, she didn’t cure John of the brainwashing that Konstantin did to him. She allowed Bobby to get out of Bayview. Connie had to get rid of Rafe. She is the town stalker, so she found him at the cemetery to stab him. The woman has lost her mind and needs to be stopped before she goes crazy. We’re surprised that she didn’t target Gabi since Li loved her.
Jack was upset about Abby’s body being exhumed. It was strange that he wouldn’t want to know if it was possible that his daughter was alive. For some reason, he had a hard time believing that Abby could be alive. Did he forget that he was presumed dead at one point? His organs were donated, and he came back to life. There are several people in Salem who have come back to life, but he had trouble believing it. Kayla had trouble believing it too. She just came back to life but thought Abby had to be dead. We think that the citizens have taken a selective amnesia pill because they forgot that people come back from the dead on a daily basis in that town.
As Days fans know, the truth about Jude’s paternity has finally been revealed. Gabi announced that Eric was the father of Nicole’s baby at EJ’s press conference. She was supposed to keep quiet about the truth, but she told it anyway. Gabi claimed that she did it because Eric had a right to know the truth. We have a hard time believing that. If that were true, she would have called Eric and told him the truth. She wouldn’t have announced it publicly. Gabi clearly forgot that Stefan asked her not to say anything. She had the gall to be smug about revealing something that would make EJ target them. Stefan showed his anger towards Gabi, and we cheered him on for doing that. Gabi had the nerve to get mad because she thought he was siding with EJ. Stefan had the right to side with EJ because she violated a trust. He shouldn’t have told her the truth in the first place because she didn’t hesitate to open her mouth. We are hoping that EJ goes after Gabi for opening her big mouth. EJ needs to go after her with everything he has left because he has nothing to lose, so he can destroy her without blinking twice.
The confrontation between Nicole and EJ happened this week. Nicole found out the truth (thanks to Gabi), and they had it out at the mansion. EJ tried his best to explain why he did what he did, but she didn’t want to hear what he had to say. She told him that he didn’t get to say that he loved her again. Nicole had a right to be upset, but she always forgets that she has done things too. She forgot that she cheated on him to conceive Jude in the first place. EJ felt like she would run to Eric if she knew the truth, and he was right. We were surprised that Nicole didn’t yell at EJ. She had a subdued performance. We’re not sure what we expected, but we thought it would be bigger than that. Nicole went running to Eric and forgot about Holly. She didn’t tell Holly the truth about Jude. EJ had to tell her the truth. Nicole proved that she was only worried about Jude and didn’t care about Holly at all. She showed up to give him the rings and to get a divorce. It must have been too much to ask that she remember to take her daughter with her.

Nicole didn’t hear Melinda tell EJ that she was going to tell the truth about Jude’s paternity. Melinda wasn’t yelling so she should have heard her talking.

Did we miss something? Will and Sonny went to New Zealand when they left the show, but they are back in Phoenix.
It was convenient that Gabi thought Stefan would be tempted by other women when we know he slept with Ava.

Chanel and Johnny were crying one minute, but their tears dried up the next time they were shown.
What made Kate think she and Abe were qualified to produce a TV show? How big would the show be since they live in Salem?
Wednesday
Julie talked about Clyde as if she knew him. We didn’t realize she knew anything about Clyde.
Stephanie told Paulina that the people of Salem didn’t like her firing a woman of color to rehire a rich, white man. It didn’t make sense for her to tell an African American woman about hiring a woman of color.
Chad wanted to talk about something private with Kayla, but he kept her office door open. Anyone could have heard them talking.
Thursday
Tate balled up the pamphlet for lacrosse camp, but it was straightened out when Theresa looked at it.
The flashback Alex had could be heard before it was shown.
Brady managed not to hear Holly and Rachel talking about her bribing her to keep quiet about Tate.
Aaron could be heard talking while Holly was shown.

What are the odds that Connie would approach Melinda out of the blue.
Why would Melinda want to work for the woman who killed her daughter?

Interview with Demetrius Grosse, Nika King, and Bishop and First Lady Donna Martin of the film “Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot” by Suzanne 6/28/24
This is a very powerful and uplifting story of a couple who changed the lives of many children, as well as the other people in their town. These are religious people, but the film is not too preachy, so if you’re not that into religion, it shouldn’t bother you. Faith is definitely the motivation for these people, in everything they do. Demetrius Grosse and Nika King turn in powerful performances as the real-life people Bishop and First Lady Donna Martin, who lived in a small town in Eastern Texas. After a tragedy in Donna’s life, she decides to adopt children. She and her husband not only adopt many children, but they get all of the people in their parish to do so as well.
It was a really interesting set of interviews. I’ve only interviewed the “real life people” in movies a few times. I was a foster child myself, and my mom was adopted as a baby, so this is an issue that hits home for me. Some scenes in the movie were hard to watch because some of the troubled children reminded me of other foster kids I knew. I told the actors and their counterparts about this, and how much the movie touched me. It was interesting to see how each paired group reacted completely differently! It was very unusual, to say the least. Let’s just say that the two ladies were much more relaxed and fun, and the two men were very serious.
The movie premieres today, July 4th. I hope you can go see it. Maybe it will inspire you to adopt children or foster a child who needs you. The foster care situation was bad 50 years ago when I was a child. It’s much worse today. I know that the Martins and everyone connected with this movie hope that their film gets people thinking about the foster care crisis.
This film is from Angel Studios. They produce the hit TV show “The Chosen” and many good, uplifting movies. They make great films with positive messages and outstanding acting, without being preachy or boring. They tell amazing stories.

King’s talents as a comedian and actor are versatile and dynamic. Demetrius Grosse (Reverend Martin)
Demetrius Grosse is an award-winning actor and producer. After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree from its School of Drama and completed a visiting student program at the Howard University College of Fine Arts in his home city of Washington DC, Grosse took his craft to the international arena, studying and performing both classical and contemporary drama with the British American Drama Academy in Oxford, England. Grosse also performed in Cape Town, South Africa with UCT. At Portland Center Stage in Oregon, Demetrtius starred as Stanley Kowalski in Tennessee William’s American classic, A Streetcar Named Desire, and Off-Broadway, in 2010 performing Black Angels Over Tuskegee.
Grosse has appeared in the HBO series Westworld based on the 1973 film of the same name. He also appeared in Michael Bay’s feature film 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (2016). Grosse is known for taking on many complex characters from various backgrounds and from all different genres. His range is unparalleled. He made his TV acting debut in The Wire (2001), Numbers (2005), and is well known for his film roles in, Saving Mr. Banks (2013), This Is Martin Bonner (2013). His other television credits include AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead, Criminal Minds, ER, NCIS, Bones, Dexter, CSI: Miami, Frontier (Netflix), and Swagger for Apple+. Grosse also made appearances in The Inheritance (2011), and Hollywoo (2011).
Grosse has credits for producing Last Cry for Katrina (2013), Moonshiners, and A Quiet Fire (2009), and most recently, Survival. Demetrius stars as Clark Randall in the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries romantic comedy Spring Breakthrough. The film was produced under Hallmark’s Mahogany banner and had its on-air debut in 2023. Grosse resides in the US with his wife, their children, and a bearded dragon named ‘Shang-Chi.’

Interview with Tahmoh Penikett of “The Killer Inside: The Ruth Finley Story” on Lifetime by Suzanne 6/27/24
It was a lot of fun to speak with Tahmoh! He seems really nice and loves to chat. I’ve admired his work for a long time. He’s been in so many shows I’ve watched, so I’m a big fan. Don’t miss this Lifetime movie tomorrow, Saturday, 6/29! It’s a good story, based on real life events that are pretty shocking.
The Killer Inside: The Ruth Finley Story follows Ruth (Hatcher) and her husband, Ed’s (Tahmoh Penikett), tranquil life in Wichita, Kansas which is suddenly turned upside down when Ed suffers a heart attack. As Ed fights for his life in the hospital, Ruth’s starts to receive mysterious threats, leaving her in a state of panic. With the city held hostage by the terror of the BTK killer, Ruth finds herself enveloped in paranoia, convinced that she will be the next victim, as the menacing phone calls escalate into chilling letters. Amidst the frenzy of the police’s pursuit of BTK, Ruth is abducted, sending shockwaves through the community. Speaking with Hunter was so much fun. It’s probably my favorite interview I’ve ever done because I was really familiar with her and her work on “Young and the Restless.” Seeing her in a different role in this movie was great.
She was so friendly and so much fun to talk to. I could have talked to her for an hour. She loves to read like I do, and so we shared our favorite books. She was so interesting, and I loved hearing about her experiences on this movie and her challenges she faced as well.
The movie airs Saturday, June 22 on Hallmark Channel, or streaming on Peacock.

Hunter King: Thank you so much for having me.
Krista Chain: Okay. My 1st question is, how did you decide to accept the part in 2 scoops of Italy? What was the audition process, or were you approached by someone to to look at the script? How did that all come about?
Hunter King: Hallmark approached me with the script, and immediately I heard Italy, and I was like, I’m in. Count me in but then I obviously went and read the script, and it was just so charming and such a
Hunter King: like such a sweet feel! Good love story! I love a Romcom such a sucker for a Romcom. So anytime I get the opportunity to do a Romcom, I immediately take it.
Hunter King: But I love the story arc. I love the character arc and obviously getting to take place in Italy is not not a bad day.
Krista Chain: That’s right. And so that answered my next question. I know sometimes when they film movies, they don’t actually film where it’s being set. So it was filmed in Italy.
Hunter King: It was filmed in Italy. I don’t know how I got so lucky to get to film a movie that is based in Italy and actually takes place in Italy. But I somehow I don’t know. I I won the lottery with this one. I really did. It was
Hunter King: more magical than you could even imagine. It was just
Hunter King: a dream come true.
Krista Chain: Well, the movie was excellent.
Hunter King: Thank you. Thank you so much. I’m so happy that you liked it. It was so much fun to film. It was really so like just a blast.
Krista Chain: It looks like it would have been a really good time.
Hunter King: Thank you.
Krista Chain: So what was your favorite part of the movie.
Hunter King: Oh, my favorite part of the movie there I mean, there were so many
Hunter King: fun scenes that we film Nicolet, my co-star. He was great. He was very patient with me, teaching me many Italian words in between in between takes. I just would constantly ask him what different things mean, and then somehow would not remember any of it. 20 min later would have to ask him all over again. A great patient teacher and a great Co star. But getting to film just in all these different amazing locations was just
Hunter King: just I don’t even know how to describe it. And some of the things that we did like. Vespa scenes were so fun because we couldn’t really ride the vesque class they needed to like get us
Hunter King: like the certain camera angles, so we’d be up on the back of a truck with the vespas drafted kind of on a trailer behind. It was just so much fun getting to shoot these different things, and there was so many fun experiences like that on this one.
Krista Chain: So you had never worked with your co-star before.
Hunter King: No, no! This was the 1st time.
Krista Chain: Oh, okay, we all had really good chemistry together.
Hunter King: Thank you. Thank you. Yeah, no, he was. He was lovely. He was great. And I give him major props because filming
Hunter King: a movie in your second language. I luckily only had to say a couple of Italian words, and that was difficult for me. So I was like, I don’t know how you’re doing this. That is so hard. And he handled it like such a pro. And just was, Yeah, I was. I was very impressed.
Krista Chain: Okay? And what was your biggest challenge in filming this movie?
Krista Chain: Did you have any obstacles or challenges.
Hunter King: I’m trying to think of my biggest. I mean, honestly, that sounds again, Mika having to film a whole movie in your second language, when I only had to say a couple of words, but I somehow always would botch the words, and the director would tell me, I’m like, Okay, wait, wait. Remind me how to say that like right before we would start filming.
Hunter King: And he’d be like, this is how you say this is how you say it. I’m like, Okay, okay? And then we’d go to film. And I somehow go back to saying it the wrong way. And I would do that so many times. Oh, my God! I felt so bad! And Mika is over here just handling it all like it’s a breeze, and I’m like I can’t even say 2 words in Italian without having to do it 5 different times. So that was probably the most challenging, and the most takes that I had to do was on the Times, that I would have to stay
Hunter King: forwards in Italian, and I would screw it up every time.
Krista Chain: So the biggest challenge was the language. Then.
Hunter King: Yeah, luckily I only had a little bit, but somehow it was still challenging for me. Yeah.
Krista Chain: I can imagine it would have been for me as well.
Hunter King: It was hard it was hard. But I’m I’m determined to get my Italian down, so that the next time I go there I can say more than how to order an espresso at a cafe.
Krista Chain: Is it was that the 1st time you had ever been to Italy.
Hunter King: I’d been to Italy once before, like
Hunter King: 1011 years prior and so now I feel like I appreciated it even more, and getting to be there for work was just
such an incredible opportunity that I will never forget.
Krista Chain: Well, I have also watched you and young and the restless.
Krista Chain: And so I was just wondering what is the differences in filming a movie and filming a TV show.
Hunter King: Well, I’d say the number one difference between the 2 is just the pace
Hunter King: with the young wrestles. We had to
Hunter King: an hour’s worth of a show in one day, and sometimes more, because we would film like a episode and a quarter or something like that every single day. And
Hunter King: the pacing was just so fast, and you had to. Some days. I had, I think, the most dialogue I ever had in one day was like 55 pages for the young, the restless. When you film a movie, you have, like, you know, 4 5 pages of dialogue that day so definitely the pace. And you get a lot more time and a lot more takes when you film a movie which is nice.
Hunter King: and that one, it’s almost like doing a play every single day is you got to know your stuff? You get one, maybe 2 takes, and then you’re moving on.
Krista Chain: Wow!
Hunter King: Yeah.
Krista Chain: That. That’s 1 reason I really wanted to talk with you today, because I have watched you for so long, and the young and the restless and then saw this movie. And so I really wanted to to have a chance to talk with you today.
Hunter King: Oh, I’m so excited that we’re getting to talk. Then I mean, I feel like the soap opera fans. It’s like
Hunter King: the best kind of fans because you guys are dedicated. You’re watching
Hunter King: single day, like you know the story you? I always said that the fans of the show know the show better than I do, cause they’ve watched for years that they’re like. No, this person was with this person, but then they cheated on this person, and now they have a baby with this person I’m like, Oh, my God! I didn’t even know that. So.
Hunter King: Major Boss.
Krista Chain: My grandmother got me into watching the soap operas.
Hunter King: I love that that’s so sweet. I love that.
Krista Chain: Yeah. When I was when I was young I used to stay with her some during the summer and stuff, and when I was sick from school, and she always had to watch Young and the restless.
Hunter King: Love that, and then they then you get hooked. You watch one episode. You’re like, now I need to know what happens, and.
Hunter King: That’s how they do it. Yep.
Krista Chain: That’s right. And so you I noticed in the movie that you were a chef. Do you have
Krista Chain: passion for cooking and baking yourself, or.
Hunter King: I’m learning. I definitely don’t have the same skills as Danielle for sure. Nowhere close. I have many different battle wounds, as I call them from cooking different burn marks or different cuts on my fingers and scars from accidentally cutting myself.
Hunter King: So I’m definitely nowhere near her level. But I do enjoy it, and I’ve started cooking more and more within this last year, and I’m getting better. It’s edible. That’s for sure. It’s edible, questionable. But we’re getting there slowly.
Krista Chain: That’s the main thing.
Hunter King: I just want to be good enough to eat. I don’t need to be Michelin Star just good enough to eat. That’s it.
Krista Chain: And that I have some. I have some burn marks, too, so.
Hunter King: You get it? Yeah, it takes time.
Krista Chain: So what are you? Some of your hobbies that you do in your free time, when you’re not working.
Hunter King: Oh, my gosh! I always feel so boring when people ask me about my hobbies. I’m like, I like my dogs. I love to read. I’m a really big reader. My boyfriend. And I, we love TV and movies. And so we do watch a lot of TV. We have a whole list of different things that we’ve been watching this year. And it’s
Hunter King: it’s a substantial amount. I’m like, okay, we need to slow down on the TV. Cause this is this is getting out of control. But we do love to watch. We have our favorite shows together. But I I’m a big, big reader, and surprise surprise. Most of the books I read are wrong coms, so I just I keep away from them. Hunter King: Oh, I mean, I love Colleen Hoover. Just it starts with us. It ends with us, or it ends with us and starts with us. We’re both so good. Verity was incredible. Have you read any colleen Hoover books.
Krista Chain: I haven’t.
Hunter King: Oh, okay, you’re gonna be.
Hunter King: I’m telling you it’s gonna change your life. You’re gonna thank me. You’re gonna come back and you’d be like you were right. Go and read, it ends with us and then read, it’s it’s weird. It starts with it ends with us. Then it starts with us is the sequel, and then a totally different book. Verity.

Hunter King: oh, another good one but those are really good, so try those. But.
Krista Chain: Okay.

Krista Chain: I I’ve been reading some freedom. Macfadden, have you read her.
Hunter King: No, I haven’t.
Krista Chain: The housemaid and the co-worker, the teacher.
Krista Chain: Those are. Those are the ones. I just finished the coworker, and it was really good. So I’m fixing about to start the teacher.
Hunter King: Ok, all right, I’ll put those on my list. I’ll definitely do that because I’m almost done with my book now, and I need a new one. Check out, Emily Henry, too.
Krista Chain: I’ve seen her, but I’ve never read any of hers either.
Hunter King: If you like. Hallmark, you’d love her books. They’re just so feel good and just make it just feels like you’re reading a warm hug it just they’re just delicious. You gotta read her books.

Krista Chain: And have you ever worked with you said you had never worked with your co-star before.
Hunter King: No, I have not. This was our 1st movie together.
Krista Chain: Oh, wow! Well, who is someone that you would like to work with that? You’ve never worked with.
Hunter King: oh, my gosh! I mean there’s so many different
Hunter King: great people in Hallmark jonathan Bennett would be so fun. I’ve been a fan of his forever.
Hunter King: Tyler, big fan of his, would love to work with him. Well, I’ve said this before, and I’ve been so lucky with all of the people that I’ve worked with both men and women, just like some of the loveliest people. So if I ever got the opportunity to work with any of my co-stars again, and film either a sequel or another thing, I would jump at the opportunity, because I’ve been so fortunate to have made so many amazing friendships with the people that I’ve worked with, and they’re all not just like great actors, but great people as well.
Krista Chain: I I would think that would be one of the most fun parts of doing movies and stuff like that is getting to meet different people, and making friendships with different ones.
Hunter King: Yeah, no, that honestly, that’s probably my favorite part of getting to do movies and just meeting so many different people and people that you would never would have met, or that live in different places that live in Italy. Now.
Krista Chain: Rather.
Hunter King: In Canada. And so it does make you feel more connected to the.
Krista Chain: And go into different places.
Krista Chain: and I think I had one more question. Do you have any projects coming up that you can tell us about?
Hunter King: I have. Well, I don’t think I’m really allowed to say much about it. I haven’t filmed it yet, but I’m going to be filming a very fun homework movie soon that I cannot wait for. It’s like a dream job. I mean, all the ones that I’ve done have been amazing and just so much fun. And this one is gonna be no different. It’s just gonna be.
Hunter King: Oh, I can’t wait. I’m like bursting at the seams waiting to tell people about it, but it’s gonna be a good one, I promise.
Krista Chain: Oh, I can’t wait to see it!

Did he really think he was the only one who would go in there? We understand Stefan had to have a way to blackmail EJ, but that didn’t make sense. EJ wouldn’t have been careless enough to put the results in a place where anyone could find it.
It could be just us, but we are sick of seeing Theresa get away with her scheme. It’s beyond time for her to get exposed for her scheme. We are also sick of Alex walking around like he’s the man because he thinks he’s Victor’s son. He needs to be knocked off his high horse. The writers are taking too long to expose that Xander is Victor’s son. We can’t wait to see the look on Alex’s face when he finds out he isn’t Victor’s son. It will also be great to see Theresa’s face when she’s exposed for her plan.
Thumbs up to the writers for acknowledging Juneteenth. It’s good that they acknowledge the holiday. The other soap operas ignore the holiday, but Days always take the time to acknowledge it. With Abe and Paulina’s anniversary being that day, it’s an extra way for the show to acknowledge the day. The other soaps need to do the same especially since they have African Americans on their shows.
Speaking of Juneteenth, what are the odds that the high school prom would be the same day? Most proms are in May or early June. They aren’t usually near the end of the month especially since kids should be getting out of high school by then. We know the writers think we all want to see the prom, but they should have gotten the time right for it.
We loved hearing Tate rip into Theresa for hurting Brady. She needed to hear about what she did to Brady. Tate had us cheering him on when he told her that she only cares about herself. He was right on the money about that because all she does is think about what she wants. When she tried to use what Konstantin did to her to let her off the hook, Tate didn’t fall for it. He walked away from her.
How did Leo know what happened during Konstantin and Maggie’s wedding when he wasn’t there? When he ran into Theresa, he asked her about Konstantin holding her hostage. Leo also knew Konstantin said there was an enemy in the midst. Since Leo wasn’t at the wedding, he shouldn’t know what was said. It wasn’t likely they had all that information online.
The writers missed the mark when they had Jack in Salem. He went to see Chad and Julie at the Horton house, yet he didn’t take the time to see Steve. You would think Jack would have taken the time to see his brother while he was in Salem. Steve is his family too. We know Jack isn’t staying on the show long, but they could have had him talking to Steve.
Why didn’t Paulina invite Johnny’s family to the going away party? Johnny has family members in town so she could have invited them to the wedding. It’s not like she doesn’t know who his family is so there’s no reason why she didn’t invite them. Johnny shouldn’t have had to invite EJ to the party. Did Paulina think Johnny’s family wouldn’t have come to send him and Chanel off.
