It makes us think that you know that Ava’s case is a lot better than you’d like it to be. You know we’ve got a real legit shot at full custody. Not even close. No, no, we can do much better. Ava, send him packing. Take Sonny to court. You do that… Sonny will walk away with nothing. ♪♪ I think of Sam and your family when I wake up every morning. The fact that I can even do that is because of your sister. And I’ll never be able… I don’t know how you’re all getting through it. I can’t even think about your poor mom. That just — It’s so hard for me to reconcile that. Every day, I’m reminded about how much so many people lost when Sam died. I see it in Scout and Danny and Rocco, and — and I see it in Dante, too. I heard there was an incident at Charlie’s last night between Danny and Cyrus. Yeah, I ended the the conversation, and I got Danny home. Danny confronted Cyrus because he believed Cyrus killed his mother. Do you believe that? I do. And what makes you so sure? Anna. She’s focused on Cyrus, and I trust her instincts. And I never really believed Cyrus’s redemption act. Is Anna close to an arrest? That I don’t know. But I do know that Cyrus wouldn’t think twice about hurting Danny if he knew he could get away with it. So until Anna arrests Cyrus, I needed him to know that I wouldn’t think twice about hurting him. Why would Cyrus want to kill Sam? They barely had any interaction. I don’t know. But it’s like I told Danny. Knowing why doesn’t — It’s not going to bring Sam back. It doesn’t matter. Knowing or not knowing doesn’t really matter, does it? I mean, you want Cyrus dead, right? ♪♪ So do I. Sasha, would you mind staying with with Mavis and keeping her company while I get my prescription? Or, I don’t know, maybe the universe was too busy today and took a pass on this one and there is no message. You know, it’s getting stuck up here was just an accident. But there’s no doubt that you’re being way too hard on yourself. When I wake up in the morning and I remember that my baby is dead, I am filled with so much rage that I feel like I can’t go on. And then finding out that she was murdered in the hospital, it’s just too much. It’s — It’s so wrong, it’s hard to reconcile. I mean, our girl, our beautiful generous girl was murdered after saving someone’s life. I mean, that’s just not fair. It’s not. It’s not fair. So when I lost my law license, I worked like hell to get it back because I love the law. I believe in it, and I believe that the system works. Most of the time. What about the other times? I’m not willing to take the chance that my daughter’s case will be one of those times. So I want him dead. And I want to be the one to kill him. I want my face to be the last face that he sees before he leaves this earth. Alexis. You can’t. You can’t kill Cyrus. It’s not who you are. No. But it’s who you are. I mean, everyone’s really struggling with Sam’s death right now, especially Dante. They — They really loved each other. Honestly, I’m — I’m glad Sam made him happy. That’s all I’ve ever wanted for Dante. And from what I’ve heard, not in these exact words, their love was pretty epic. Ohh. It was. Yeah, it was my favorite love story. And I’m happy to share that with you if — if you’d ever want to hear any of that. But I don’t want to cause unnecessary hurt, so… I appreciate that. But I feel like I can’t honor her properly without knowing how much everyone lost when she died. But the last thing I want to do is impose on Dante, because he can barely even say her name around me. Okay. Um, sure. Yeah. Let’s see. Where to begin. Um… Well, uh, Sam had her kids, and Dante had Rocco, but when they first met, they were essentially alone. And — And they were really hurting, which I think because they knew what the other was going through, it, I don’t know, made it hurt a little less. And they — They spent more time together and they confided in each other and they really built each other up. In the beginning they had this — this sweet, quiet love. And he wants me to have surgery because of the bullet that happened years ago. I told him I’d see him in three months. I mean, this stuff with your heart’s pretty serious. You think it’s a good idea waiting that long? Yeah. He doesn’t want to want to wait, but he says three months is fine. [ Breathes deeply ] I mean, look, Michael’s gonna be recovering. Maybe he’ll come back to his family, and then it gives us time to find out who firebombed my apartment. I mean, three months isn’t a lot of — a lot of time. It’s all I got. Hi. He said to Cyrus, “If you ever come near my son again, I’ll kill you.” And the whole room witnessed it? Yeah. Why would Danny think that Cyrus murdered his mother? I don’t know, but he is convinced. He wasn’t asking Cyrus, “If?” He was asking him, “Why?” Well, then he heard it from someone. Yeah, he heard it from someone who knows that Cyrus is a suspect. Otherwise, he never would have trusted them. Well, we can’t speculate or guess who it was. We need to find out for sure. Look, I know I shouldn’t have told Dante about Cyrus, but he’s not just my partner, okay? He’s my friend. But it’s okay to ignore my orders? Yeah. If anything like this happened to Brook Lynn, I would want to know everything. And I would move heaven and earth to find out. I understand. The police are still investigating. There’s no proof, no motive. Obviously, this theory isn’t out in the open because I haven’t heard about it until now. Well, no. They don’t want anyone to know about it. How did Danny find out? From me. Elaine is one of the best P.I.s in the business. But she is old-school. What does “old-school” mean in the P.I. world? Well, she doesn’t rely on any technology during her investigations. She doesn’t even use her phone. She writes everything down on one of those little reporter’s notebooks. She’s meticulous about it. It’s actually very impressive. And what’s the story with Mavis? I mean, it has to be hard to blend in when you have a dog with you. Well, Mavis is a distraction. Most of the time, Elaine’s targets get so wrapped up playing with Mavis, they don’t realize that Elaine has been questioning them the entire time. They don’t realize they have just spilled their guts to a private investigator. ♪♪ [ Sighs ] Ooh. You rang? Yes, I did. ♪♪ Willow and I are getting ready for a custody fight. Oh, I’m familiar with that concept. And we need to find some dirt on Michael. You know, just in case we need the leverage. I’m familiar with that concept. By telling her that Drew and I were sleeping together when he started pursuing her? That’s the something. I was gonna tell her. I was on the verge of telling her the whole entire ugly truth. But she started to say these amazing things to me, and then Tracy showed up. But the important thing is that Willow said that she needed me more than anyone else in her life. That if it wasn’t for me, she couldn’t get through this whole ordeal. Oh, that must have felt so good. Do you know how long I’ve waited for her to say anything like that to me? Yes, I do. And I’m so glad she finally did. Yeah. And if I was honest with her, and I told her that Drew and I were having sex, our relationship would never recover, and Willow would have felt all alone. There were a lot of people at Charlie’s last night. It was hard to hear anything going on between Jason and Cyrus. All I know is that they had a conversation. That’s interesting ’cause other witnesses confirmed Martin Grey’s account of the incident. So obviously some people heard what they were talking about. Hmm. Well, then I suggest you talk to those other witnesses because I didn’t hear a word Jason said to Cyrus. Jason cannot get involved in this case against Cyrus. That is not gonna end well. Okay, this is on me. I’ll talk to him. No, I’ll do it. I can tell you that this investigation is ongoing, and that there is information that we are not yet ready to release to the public. But I can see that you’ve already made up your mind that Cyrus killed Sam. Okay. Just as I thought. Look, when I’m ready to bring the suspect in, I need the suspect to be alive. And whenever I’m here, I just imagine my dad and Aunt Bobbie sitting around telling stories about Aunt Ruby. Yeah. You know, after everybody goes home and it’s empty in here, I definitely feel closer to my grandma. It would mean the world to her and my dad to see you here. And it makes me wonder. Maybe I should have got a job here instead of at Deception, you know, be a part of the whole family-tradition thing. [ Chuckles ] Part of me always wanted to have that Kelly’s/Bobbie’s experience. How can it be trespassing if this person was let in by the super? Well, it is. It’s — It’s criminal trespassing, to be exact. And fraud. You’re very smart, Josslyn. I didn’t think I would need to have to explain this to you, but apparently I do. This little game that you’re playing is extremely dangerous, and it could cost you your life! Ah, yes. How could I forget? You can’t. Because I won’t ever let you. Because you framed me for drunk driving. [ Chuckles ] Not my finest hour. The only reason you are not in prison is because I chose not to pursue it. So now I need you not to pursue Drew and Willow. Can I just write you a check? No! Okay. I love that my brother is looking out for me. But you don’t have to worry. Jack has been good to me. Carly, it’s one thing for you to get involved with a Mob boss or a hitman or a reformed serial killer — Okay, I don’t really understand how Jack could be a step down from that. Because he will ruin your life. How? By lying. Look at me and Brad. Brad lied to me for years, and it destroyed my family and my relationship. Call me an optimist, but I don’t think Jack is gonna steal someone else’s baby and try and pass it off as our own. But he will lie to you. Constantly. It’s his literal job. Carly, you can’t get into a relationship based on lies. Okay, no one’s talking about a relationship here. We have just been flirting and made out a couple times. You know, it is one thing for you to lie to me, but, Carly, for your own good… don’t lie to yourself. Sam would never want you to feel guilty about experiencing joy. She was a hell-raiser and an adventurer. When she was alive, she lived. Dante, you’ll always miss Sam, and part of you will always grieve her, but she wouldn’t want you to wallow in it forever. ♪♪ How did you end up running such a fine establishment? Well, I — I was actually managing it first. Uh, but then when my daughter died, my dad thought I could use the distraction and, y-you know… have somewhere to find a purpose again. And, uh I gotta say, it really helped. I think it’s great that you and your dad are so close. Yeah, he’s — he’s the best. I don’t know what I would do without him. The way that I see it is that I can’t control what other people do, but I can control how I react. And there was a couple of times in my life that I just carried a lot of fear around, and I would lose sleep worrying about what might happen. And that’s just not who I am anymore. I’m taking back control. Taking back control. Those are good words to live by. Cyrus might leave town before anybody gets a chance to — to bring him down. I mean, it’s the smart thing to do. And if he does that, any chance of getting justice for anybody goes with him. There’s got to be something we can do. I-I say we take whatever evidence we have to Anna, sooner rather than later, before it’s too late. All right. Let’s say that you’re right about Cyrus. I am right about Cyrus. Okay. Then you know how dangerous he is. Not only did you accuse him to his face of murder, but you now conned his super into getting into his apartment. Like I said, that could have been anyone. Okay, between the description that the super has now probably passed on to Cyrus and the story that you told him, you’ve now placed yourself directly in his crosshairs. If Cyrus thinks he’s free and clear, he might not come after you. But if he suspects that we’re closing in on him, then he’s gonna feel cornered, and that is when he is dangerous! Okay. Um, should I go or should I call Diane? Call Diane. I’m arresting you for trespassing. For your own damn good. Commissioner, before you arrest her, can I talk to her? Anna: Yes! Danny, I can tell you anything you want to know, except who the father is. I have to respect his privacy. The less you know, the better. Y-Yeah. I mean, I get it. Yeah. Drew and Willow have alienated practically everybody in town, and you may have gotten me to step back, but you can’t silence everybody. I’ll have to figure out something else. I admire your resolve. And whatever you figure out, it is not gonna bode well for Willow and Drew. ♪♪ I’m not the biggest WSB fan. I mean, my dad chose that life over us, and it cost him his family. Well, I’m sorry you feel — Still talking. Clearly you want this life, though, so if you’re looking to just “have some fun” before you’re inevitably transferred, stay away from Carly. I don’t see how this is any of your concern. Well, it’s not, but I know Carly’s been through a lot lately. I’m aware. Great. Then you’ll take me seriously. Because if there’s one thing you and “Frisco Jones’ daughter” know all too well, it’s that it’s not fair for you to get involved with anyone, especially Carly, when you know your job won’t allow it. My drink’s on his tab. We can’t shut ourselves off because we’ve been hurt. And we can’t let the “what-ifs” scare us into hiding. Because then we miss out on all this amazing life to live. And I’m reminded over and over again that life is short. So what you’re saying is that I shouldn’t worry about my future relationships being as big of a disaster as my marriage to Brad was. Mm-hmm.
