Thomas: Well, you were– you were gone for a while. But I’ll take it as a compliment.

Hope: Yeah, you should. I should, um, I should probably get going.

Finn: You hear that?

Steffy: What?

Finn: It’s the sound of children sleeping.

Steffy: Mm-hmm.

Finn: What should we do with this, uh, rare opportunity.

Steffy: I don’t know. You tell me.

Finn: It’s all about you.

Ridge: Isn’t it funny, carter? Just when you’re ready to pass the torch, you see a little light.

Carter: Through a keyhole. I– your inspiration looks a lot like someone I know, but I– I can’t quite put my finger on it.

Ridge: Hm.

Carter: Uncanny.

Ridge: I don’t know what you mean.

Carter: What I mean is that it looks like your relationship was raised to another level on this trip. Haven’t seen you this happy in a long time.

Ridge: And it’s all because of logan.

Steffy: Babe, you spoil me.

Finn: All right.

Steffy: Yeah, you do.

Finn: Well, the night is young.

Steffy: Yeah. Oh, did you see what kelly drew for me?

Finn: Oh, wow. Huh. Might be time for her own line.

Steffy: Look, I know we’re a little biased, but honestly? I know talent when I see it.

Finn: Right? Like kelly was showing hayes how to hold his marker. It was so cute.

Steffy: Oh, my gosh.

Finn: They didn’t, uh, they didn’t see me spying on them.

[ Steffy laughing ]

Steffy: I just love seeing those two play together.

Finn: Yeah.

Steffy: I just never wanna take any of this for granted. You know, our home, our children, our life.

Finn: Me either.

Brooke: Wow, this is very nice. I might have to model this one myself.

Ridge: Yeah?

Brooke: Mm-hmm.

Carter: You should know that ridge has been in an extremely pleasant mood since his return from rome.

Ridge: You know what? Maybe it was the beautiful city. Maybe it was the beautiful wine you made me drink every morning. And maybe it’s this beautiful creature right here.

Brooke: Mm. It was a very special trip for us. I just wish that everybody felt that way. I wish that things were better for hope and liam.

[ Hope sighing ]

Hope: Can’t we just stay this way forever?

Thomas: Yeah. That sounds nice.

Hope: It’s just, I’ve never felt this way before. It’s– it’s exhilarating. Thomas.

Thomas: Mm-hmm?

Hope: I want you.

Steffy: You know, they say it’s– it’s the small things that turn out to be the really big things in life. And that is so true. I appreciate every single moment we have together.

Finn: So do I.

Steffy: God, to think I almost lost you.

Finn: Hey. But you didn’T.

Steffy: No, but, I would drive myself crazy just thinking about what life would be like without you.

Finn: But you don’t have to think about that anymore, okay? It’s in the past.

Steffy: Yeah, but the thought of raising our kids without you, I mean, it was… it was a lot. Um… god, I used to wake up in a panic. You know, my heart was racing and I remember just reaching out, seeing if you were there.

Finn: Hey, I am not going anywhere.

Steffy: Okay.

Brooke: My daughter has gone a little off course and that’s just not like her.

Ridge: It’s just a little bump, that’s all. I mean, look at us.

Brooke: Let’s not compare hope to our romance and what we’ve been through.

Ridge: I’m not saying that at all. I just– we had our challenges and we’re here, that’s all.

Carter: Yeah, it’s a good thing your amazing, talented friend convinced you to look through the keyhole and see your future.

Ridge: It’s unbelievable. And I will find a way to thank my amazing, talented friend.

Carter: I’m counting on it. Anyway, I have to hop on a conference call with the distributors. You’re welcome.

Ridge: Oh, boy.

[ Brooke laughing ]

Brooke: Well, I am happy that I’m the one that’s responsible for bringing you peace and happiness to your life. But I can’t be the only one.

Ridge: You are.

Brooke: Yeah?

Ridge: Well, you and thomas. I mean, look, as a parent, you just want your kid to be happy, right? And that’s what he is. He’S… he’s a changed man. You believe that, right?

Hope: You know, I never thought I would do something like this. Being with another man when I’m still technically married.

Thomas: Hey, don’t do that to yourself.

Hope: No, no, no. No. It’s okay. I’m not ashamed. I’m not, thomas, really. I do hate what I’m doing to liam and what this is going to do to my family, but at the same time, I just… I’ve wanted you for so long.

Thomas: Hm.

Hope: And uh, yeah, it’s even better than I imagined.

[ Thomas chuckling ]

Thomas: Well, I totally agree with that. I mean, this– this is not something I ever expected, but I’m sure happy it happened.

Hope: Me too. I– I really did try to do the right thing and I fought this really hard, but I just… I couldn’t resist you any longer. “Look at this skin, baby.

Finn: Hey. You all right?

Steffy: Uh, just thinking about that time. It was… the darkest chapter of my life. Thinking that you were gone. Hayes losing his father.

Finn: I wish you never had to go through that.

Steffy: I… it was torture. Oh, it was torture. You know, I was paralyzed. Every minute felt like hours, then a miracle happened.

[ Bell ringing ]

Finn: Steffy!

Steffy!

It’s me! Babe, that’s what you need to focus on, okay? Our incredible reunion. Reliving all that other stuff, it’s just– it’s not gonna help. It’s behind us.

Steffy: Yeah, you’re right. I know. And I do feel better that you said that because I don’t– I don’t ever wanna go through that again.

Finn: You never will.

Brooke: Well, I, um, I still have questions about what happened in rome, but I do know that my daughter initiated the kiss and thomas, he’s been amazing, actually. He’s kept his vow to be very professional with hope, working with her all this time and I appreciate that.

Ridge: He would love to hear you say that.

Brooke: Yeah?

Ridge: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: I’ve been meaning to talk to him about it. I just haven’t found the right time. But, I am driving that way, so maybe I could swing by his place and just have a little chat with him.

Ridge: Really?

Brooke: Yeah.

Ridge: Thank you.

Brooke: Hope’s really gotta fix this. She needs to be with her family and back in the arms of the man she loves.

Ridge: Bye.

Hope: I got so defensive with my mom. I just really let her have it.

Thomas: She’s your mom. I’m sure she’s– she’s already forgiven you.

Hope: I don’t know. I just… I was pretty brutal and she did not deserve it.

Thomas: Yeah, well, I bet she’s already forgotten about it.

Hope: I hope so. I think I pushed back so hard because I was in denial, you know? My feelings for you. I just did not want to admit that she was right.

Thomas: That you fell for the bad boy.

Hope: Former bad boy, sir, all right? Don’t forget that because you are thoughtful and you are kind and…

Thomas: Well, you bring it out of me.

[ Hope chuckling ]

Hope: Ugh, my entire world is falling apart as we speak, and yet, somehow, being here with you, it just… it fades away. I just…

Steffy: Watching everything that’s going on between liam and hope, it really makes me appreciate what we have.

Finn: Honestly, me too.

Steffy: God, it’s such a mess.

Finn: Yeah, it’s a major test to see if their love is as strong as it appears. I mean, look, no marriage is perfect. If they want it to work, they need to put each other first and fight for it.

Steffy: Yeah, but that’s not going to be easy. We all know how liam feels about thomas. I mean, what happened in rome when we confirmed his fears about my brother. Liam’s devastated.

Finn: Okay, well liam needs to get over it and put his family first.

Steffy: I’m just– I’m just still blown away by all of it. Like, how does she give in to her feelings? Like how does she fall for thomas? She insisted that I had nothing to worry about. She said it to my face that she didn’t have feelings for thomas. She really is a logan after all.

Carter: Ridge, thomas really knocked it out of the park with these designs.

Ridge: You always knew he could do it.

Carter: Yeah.

Ridge: He’s his own worst enemy.

Carter: Yeah, he could’ve stayed on that path, but he got it together. It’s not easy.

Ridge: It’s not easy. Especially when it comes to his obsession with hope, but he did it. He moved past it. He changed his life. Even brooke can see that now.

Carter: Quite the turnaround.

Ridge: Yeah, and she’s on her way over there right now to talk to him about it.

Carter: Really?

Ridge: Yeah, [Indistinct] Look. It was a kiss! Brooke has nothing to worry about when it comes to hope and thomas, trust me.

Hope: Don’t stop.

[ Hope panting ]

Brooke: Thomas? The door was open.

Rj: Are you texting hope?

Liam: Uh, no, I’m texting wyatt, he needs notes for a meeting. He’s been– uh, he’s been taking over ever since my dad left town.

Rj: Come on, I mean, I’m sure bill knows that the two of you can handle this right now. He probably wants you focusing on your marriage, right? Instead of crashing at his place?

Liam: Well, rj, there’s a reason I’m crashing at my dad’s place.

Carter: Thomas and hope really nailed the fashion preview. The coverage won’t stop.

Ridge: Everyone is eating up this collection. Here’s your line sheet.

Katie: Thank you very much. I just hope we can keep up with demand, and thomas and hope need to keep a professional boundary. They crossed the line in rome.

Carter: Yeah, let’s hope the public doesn’t get wind of what happened.

Ridge: Agreed. We need to deal with this privately.

Katie: Well, good luck with that. Once a professional relationship becomes personal, it tends to infiltrate a company, becomes scandal for the press. Hope and thomas got caught up in a moment, and now that she’s back, she needs to concentrate on her marriage.

Ridge: Obviously, brooke is concerned about this too.

Katie: Well, yeah. Hope doesn’t normally run around kissing other men. She’s always been so moral. She’s focused on her family, committed to liam.

Carter: It’s hard to believe she’s the one responsible for what happened in rome.

Katie: She and thomas were riding high off of the success of the show. I’m sure she’s come to her senses now.

Ridge: I’m sure that doesn’t help liam. You know how he feels about thomas.

Liam: Hey rj, I know hope is your sister. You love her. You’re looking out for her. I can take time off from here, right? The reason I’m in this office right now is because I want the distraction. If I just focus on work…

Rj: You wanna focus on work instead of letting your marriage fall apart, is that it?

Liam: Yeah.

Rj: Look, maybe tonight, instead of staying at your dad’s place, maybe you should just go, and stay with your wife at home for a little. I don’t know, man. Maybe this isn’t my place. I feel… if anybody understands needing some time away, it’s me. So I get it, all right? I’m not coming after you for that. I’m just saying when you do spend time away over something like this, it builds walls, and I’m just worried that those walls aren’t gonna come down over this. I think you just need to go and just talk to her before it’s too late.

Thomas: Yeah, it feels like we’re made for each other. Do you have any idea how incredible you are? You’re just beautiful inside and out.

Hope: Well, you… you make me feel… alive. And I never want this feeling to end. You bring out something in me that… even I never knew existed. You’ve evolved.

Katie: So, the whole time you were in rome, you didn’t notice anything going on between hope and thomas?

Carter: Seemed all business to me. It was very professional.

Ridge: They were just invested in making this preview a success, that’s all I saw.

Katie: Well, your son doesn’t have the best track record…

Ridge: All right, easy. I know he’s made mistakes in the past, but he’s changed his life around, all right? So, this has nothing to do with thomas backsliding.

Carter: It’s probably the hardest thing for liam to grasp.

Ridge: I’m sure it is, but he can’t blame my son for it. He should talk to hope.

Liam: Which acquisition? No, no, hold firm. They’ll come around. Yeah. Yeah. No, I’m good. Rj’s still here. I know, told him about the chocolate ice cream in the cafeteria. Dude just won’t leave.

[ Liam chuckling ] No, I’m fine. It’s okay. I’m all good. Thanks, bro.

Rj: Well, it sounds like wyatt can handle things. You’re allowed to focus on your personal life every once in a blue moon. Maybe you can come around too. Am I getting through to you at all?

Liam: Anybody ever told you how persistent you are?

Rj: I’ve been described as worse.

Liam: Here’s the thing. I warned hope so many times, right? I mean, I told her that thomas should be no bigger a part of our lives than he absolutely has to be.

Rj: Right. And you’ve been super supportive of co-parenting douglas. I’m not knocking you for that, man.

Liam: That’s not… I draw the line at work, right? I have voiced my concerns over and over again about thomas rejoining hope for the future as the lead designer. And we came to an understanding, or at least, I thought we did. And then all of a sudden, hope changes her mind, and now, I’m going, “oh, great. Okay, here we go again. Thomas never ceases to insert himself into our lives.” And now, guess what. All this time, I thought thomas would be the one who blew up our lives and it was actually hope. It was hope. It was your sister who turned to him.

Hope: I’ve never really known this part of me. And on some level, I guess, it scares me.

Thomas: Being with me?

Hope: No. It’s just what’s going on inside of me. It’s almost like something has been unleashed. But it feels… strong. Powerful.

Thomas: Yeah, strong and powerful sound good.

[ Hope chuckling ]

Hope: Who knows? Maybe, this is what my mom was talking about all those years, you know, following her heart. Maybe, this is what it feels like. I just know that, um… it took a lot to admit that… I’ve been thinking about you in this way for a while now, and I– I knew it was wrong. I know it’S… this is wrong, but I just… I had to give in.

[ Hope chuckling ] What I dreamed of… this is so much better. I’m hearing different ways for me to screen

Carter: Look, I know how proud you are of thomas. We all are. He’s worked really hard to better himself, and he’s really come into his own.

Ridge: Yes, he has. Thank you, carter. He turned his life around. It’s not an easy thing to do. He’s a good father. He’s a good son. He shows up, his work is impeccable. Yes?

Katie: Yeah. He’s a huge component of hope for the future. I mean, none of this would have happened without him. Hope made an impulsive mistake. She got confused, spending so much time with thomas. She promises it’s never gonna happen again. So, now, it’s really up to liam to forgive her and keep their marriage from falling apart.

Rj: I hear you. But are you– are you telling me that you really want a divorce?

Liam: No.

Rj: No?

Liam: No, I don’t want this. I don’t want any of this, rj. You know what I want? You know what I do want?

Rj: What?

Liam: What I do want, I want my life back. That’s what I want. I want the last several months back. Here’s what I really want. I want the hope I knew from before, back. That’s what I want.

Rj: You could get her back. Come on, liam, you have something worth fighting for. Right now, you do. There’s nothing like what the two of you have and you know that.

Liam: You’re a good little brother.

Rj: Oh, don’t– don’t give me that. I’m not in high school anymore.

Liam: I’m not– I’m not condescending to you. That’s not what I’m doing. I’m just saying it’s a little different when it’s your life.

Rj: That is life, liam. You have good, you have bad, you have ups, you have downs. I mean, come on, that’s every single relationship. Am I wrong?

Liam: No.

Rj: Look, you need to focus on the fact that you love hope. And more importantly than that, you also love your family. If you focus on that, you’ll be able to forget about the fact that she did kiss thomas.

[ Liam groaning ] I can guarantee this isn’t gonna happen again.

Thomas: You know, I never could have imagined this. How incredible it would be right here, with you.

[ Both chuckling ]

Hope: Well, lying here in your arms… I have to admit there… is a part of me inside that is just screaming, “what are you doing?” I mean, I don’t know what I’m doing. My husband left me and I understand why. And I hate that I hurt him, but all of this is just happening so quickly. I don’t know. I– I– I do feel like maybe I am losing my mind. Maybe I am crazy because I mean, I– I had it all, right? Had the perfect family and… yet, I just can’t stop… wanting you. Trying to control my asthma felt anything but normal.

Rj: Liam, you can get past all of this. You both have been fighting for your marriage for so long. You’ve got to find it in your heart to just forgive her this once. Okay?

Liam: Rj, do you know how excited I was to surprise hope? To see her face… when I stepped off the plane? And then when I get to the event, I find out that I was too late. Do you know what I did? I just… I just went looking for her. Do you know how insane that is to just start walking around rome in hopes that I might see my wife? But I got this idea in my head that, um, she might be at the colosseum. I don’t know, it just felt cosmic and as I was approaching, I started to, uh, fantasize, you know. Her turning to me… running up to me, embracing me, thanking me for coming halfway across the world to support her. But what I got instead, the surprise… I got instead was her standing there with somebody else. At first, I couldn’t make out who it was, but it was thomas. And the way… she was looking at him… the desire.

[ Liam scoffing ] That smile of hers. A smile I… I thought was only ever meant for me. And then the look on her face changed and then she leaned in and she just… she kissed the one man… that she always knew I hated more than anyone.

Rj: I’m sorry, liam. I think if you really tried and you really focused on what the two of you have together, I think you could just find it in your heart to forgive her for this.

Liam: I would like that very much… but like I said, I’m not gonna get that image out of my head. Rj… forgiveness ain’t in the cards.

Rj: This isn’t you. You are not a quitter! That’s not the guy that I know. And I know that you know in your heart that hope and you are what is right. What you need to do right now is you need to go out that door and you need to fight for your marriage before it completely falls apart and you live with regret for the rest of your life.

Thomas: You know, I– I think I know what’s going on inside that head of yours. You– you did your best. I mean, you– you really tried to save your marriage. You went to liam, you tried to talk it out and he didn’t want to have any of it. In fact, he jumped straight to divorce. I– I don’t understand how a man could do that to you. You’re such an incredible person. You’re so wonderful. You’re always forgiving. I just– I don’t get it. Any man should be grateful to be with you and I know that I am. I– I don’t wanna be a person who ruins your life. I wanna be a person who puts you first. Lets you know that you’re loved and that you’re the only one. Just you and only you.

Hope: You know, I meant what I said. That I’ve never experienced anything like this. This feeling. It’s just… I don’t know, maybe it is because we’re doing something wrong. I mean, I am technically a married woman and yet… I don’t feel ashamed. I mean how could I? What we shared was so… passionate. Was so incredible. But before I– I get myself in any more trouble than I am… I should probably go.

Thomas: Okay. Look, um… before you do though, I… I have a question and I want you to be honest. Is this… you and me, something you can actually handle? Tell me the truth.

[ Hope sighing ]

Hope: Thomas… you’ve unlocked something in me and I have never felt more alive and I want to keep exploring that with you, but I also need to figure out what my next steps are going to be. So, until I get that figured out, can we just… can we keep this between us?

Wyatt: Hope is your wife. She loves you. You have a beautiful daughter together. Just don’t take that for granted.

Liam: I’m not.

Wyatt: Okay. Hope hurt you. All right? But don’t let that cloud what’s really important here. Your family, your life with hope. Like– I– I– I know you still love her.

Liam: Yes, of course I still love her.

Wyatt: So then go to her. Start with, “I love you.” And end with, “I forgive you.” Just trust me, bro. You’re gonna regret it if you don’T.

Sheila: You know, I’m not sure how much time we have here together, but I just– thank you for coming to see me. I mean, really, I– it means so much that you came to visit. I– I– I try to keep my head up around here. But I am lonely. And it’s just nice to know that someone is thinking about me, that I really haven’t been forgotten.

Deacon: Well, like the song goes, honey, “you are unforgettable.”

Sheila: I’m just glad that I’m being remembered for the right reasons. Someone who doesn’t think that I’m hateful. You know, someone that actually has good memories of me. Oh, I miss you. I miss you a lot.

Deacon: So he’s already spilled wine all over his shirt, right? Then goes in for the tiramisu with the fork, almost puts his eye out. Finally, finally, he gets the nerve to propose. You know, he gets down on one knee, completely takes out the table next to him. I’m like, “this poor guy.”

[ Sheila laughing ]

Sheila: We all know that proposals can be dangerous to your health, right? Oh, too soon?

Deacon: Yeah.

Sheila: Just tell me, did she say yes?

Deacon: Yeah. Thank god she did. I mean, I can’t even imagine the carnage had she said no.

Sheila: Then, that proves it. You see, there is definitely somebody out there for everyone.

Deacon: And I think people, sometimes they just get each other. You know, panic induced flaws and all.

Sheila: I am so happy for you. Really. I– I know that I am stuck in this hellhole, but I– I am so happy to see that you’re thriving. I mean, no one deserves to be happy more than you. I just wish I were there to share it with you.

Wyatt: Look, I know this stings, but we’ve all made mistakes. I mean, come on. Hope’s forgiven you for a few over the years.

Liam: Wyatt, this is not like, oops. It’s thomas, okay? It’s thomas. And she let him put his hands all– no, it’s worse than that. She had her hands all over him.

Wyatt: Okay. You know what? Listen to me. Listen to me here, okay?

Liam: I’m listening.

Wyatt: You’ve got to let that go. Hope loves you. And deep down I know– I know you don’t want this to end.

Liam: Rj.

Rj: Hey.

Liam: What are you– how are you here?

Rj: Listen, listen. I just came from talking with hope about the whole situation with thomas and she’s devastated. I know I’m just her younger brother, but hear me out. You gotta take her back.

[ Thomas and hope panting ]

Hope: Um, I have to admit that I have thought about this moment probably more than I should. Yeah.

Thomas: [ Laughing ] Yeah?

Hope: [ Laughing ] Yeah. What it would be like for you to touch me. To hold me. And I have to say, my imagination, um… wasn’t even close to the real thing. Where are you going?

Deacon: I know that you said that this place has taken a toll on you, but I gotta tell you, all things considered, you look pretty damn good. I mean in a, you know, female prison movie kinda way hot.

Sheila: Yeah. You know, they’re gonna come in here any second now and tell us that our time is up. But I really don’t wanna talk about this place, okay? Because it really– it sucks. It really sucks that I’m stuck in here.

Deacon: I’m sorry.

Sheila: Don’t be. You– you have no idea what it means to me that you came to see me here today. Really, that there’s still somebody out there that… that cares about me.

Deacon: I will always care about you. Against all reason and my better judgment.

Sheila: [ Laughing ] Come on. You know, I’m fun to hang around. Never a dull moment.

Deacon: You are a regular carnival ride.

Sheila: Who knows, right? Could have happened if I just hadn’t messed up.

Deacon: Yeah. Yeah, I know.

Rj: Listen, I’m not excusing what hope did, all right? I know the whole history with thomas and everything he’s done to your family. I can’t even imagine the hurt of seeing her kissing thomas in front of the colosseum.

Liam: Yeah, rj, I’m not getting that outta my head anytime soon.

Rj: Look, I know, it’s gonna take time, all right? Hope knows that. But look, she’s willing to do anything to fix this, liam. Come on. You gotta fight for your marriage, all right? I think she deserves a second chance.

Wyatt: He’s right. At least try.

Rj: She loves you. Obviously, she really– she loves you. Just you. And despite all of this, I think that you still love her. I mean, you guys have been through so much worse than this and you got through it. And you got through it because you went through it together.

Wyatt: And you can go through this together too.

Rj: Liam, if you leave her right now, it would destroy her. Don’t walk away over one mistake.

Hope: It was amazing. You are amazing.

[ Hope chuckling ] This is so not like me. Oh, my gosh, thomas. You know, when I first started having feelings for you, it’s just terrified me. And not because of how you’re probably thinking. It’s more because I just didn’t understand it. And so I blamed work, blamed stress, I– I blamed my mom and her history and… her past mistakes and relationships.

Thomas: Do you feel like you’re making a mistake?

Hope: I hate that I hurt liam. And I hate that I hurt my family. I hate that. But how can this be a mistake when what we shared feels so right? I mean, it’s like how when we design and when we create together and you just are able to finish my sentences. It’s like you know what I’m thinking before I even do. You know what I want before I even know that I need it.

Thomas: I just drew thinking about you, your– your boldness, your drama, your sexiness. All of it I just… it was all just you. Every piece.

Hope: Something so beautiful, it just… it can’t be wrong. This has to be right. Febreze!

Deacon: I will always care about you, but–

Sheila: But nobody can know.

Deacon: I– I’m sorry.

Sheila: I’m not. I am not sorry for the time that we shared. I promise you, I would never mess anything up for you. Although, probably never happen being stuck in this hellhole, most likely for the rest of my life. It’s just, I– I can’t help but wonder what might have been… if we’d met earlier, or in another life maybe. I just really wish I could have your arms around me again.

Rj: I get it, all right? I sympathize with you. I understand what the stakes are here.

Liam: Have you ever been betrayed by the one person you’re supposed to be able to trust?

Rj: I don’t– I don’t know. Okay? I’m not telling you how to feel right now. I’m just saying you’re– you’re in a fight, okay? Thomas: Wait.

[ Clears throat ] What about liam?

Hope: He decided to end our marriage. He walked out on me. Liam’s made his choice.

Liam: It’s ironic, isn’t it? All this time I was so worried about thomas and what he would do and how he would hurt hope and our family and– I guess, it never occurred to me that hope would be the one.

Wyatt: I can’t even begin to imagine how tough this is for you. But, like, is there any way that you can just dig deep and find some kind of forgiveness for– for–

Liam: How? How do I do that when hope is the one who betrayed me with thomas. I mean, thomas of all people. This is the one person in the whole world that I just– you know this already. It’s just that, this is not the kind of thing I can just get past. I mean, for me, for me, it’s unforgivable.

[ Electric door buzzes ]

Sheila: Come on, tate, what am I doing here? No one comes to see me anymore. I think I– I think I hold the record.

Guard: Today is your lucky day.

[ Door buzzes ]

Deacon: Thank you.

Wyatt: Like, I know you said you want divorce but– but you were angry, you were pissed off at seeing the whole kiss. But do you want to, like, give up on hope and– and your– your wife and your family?

Liam: Hey. I hear you. I really do. It’s just, this is not the kind of thing I can move on from.

Wyatt: Okay. Well, I think it’s never a good idea to make a dramatic decision when you’re in the heat of the moment. And I think that’s what you’re doing right now. It’s– it is. Okay? I still think there’s time here to move on, to fix this, if you want to. It’s not too late to change your mind.

Hope: I’ll never forget that look in liam’s eyes when he said our marriage was over. That he wanted a divorce. It was… not just pain, it was… disappointment. Disappointment in me.

Thomas: Look, he was– he was probably just in shock.

Hope: No. No, he was… almost calm. Resolved. Like he made up his mind. So now I’m left picking up the pieces, wondering about beth and douglas, and what this is going to mean for them, and I just– I messed it all up.

Sheila: No. I always… I always believed in you. And you have that drive. That’s something that we both share.

Deacon: It wasn’t always like that. I mean, when you came into my life, it definitely was not like that.

Sheila: Come on, you were just a diamond in the rough, right?

Deacon: Hmm.

Sheila: I’ve always believed in you, deacon. I mean, so many people, they just wrote me off but not you.

Deacon: I’m never going to forget that.

Sheila: Yeah. Sometimes I close my eyes and I– I just make believe I am sitting at il giardino sipping on a martini watching you charm your clients.

[ Sheila laughs ]

Sheila: Wow. I really miss that smile. That charm. I… I really miss you.

Wyatt: It was one kiss, man. Come on. It’s just– you’re not going to fight for hope, huh? You’re not going to give her another chance to explain? Like, I think you need to take a step back here and– and look at what you’re giving up. I mean, beth needs both of her parents. Douglas. Not to mention, the bottom line is you can’t deny that you still love hope.

Liam: Yeah, I– yes, I know, wyatt. That is what makes this so painful. Yeah, before thomas started infiltrating our family, hope and I, we had it all. We were building a future together, and I could see– I could see him trying to create separation between us. And I was doing everything I could not to let that happen. What I didn’t count on, what shocked the hell out of me, was that it was hope going after him. It was– it was hope who wanted him.

Thomas: You really think liam could be interested in steffy again?

Hope: He is. I know it. They were practically the last words he said to me before he walked out the door. So, yeah, there’s that. Frankly, I’m just trying to… deal with the fallout of my own actions right now. And I’M…

Thomas: Look, I’m– like I said, I am always going to be here for you. Right?

Thomas: As a friend, as someone you can talk to… someone who would never judge you.

Hope: It means a lot to hear you say that. That you care about me.

Thomas: Always.

Hope: You know, it’s been kind of a remarkable thing watching you turn your life around. I mean, it’s shown me that people actually can change, that it’s not just empty words and platitudes that, um… if you mean it, and if you want it… you can do it. Thomas, you have become… an incredible man.

Thomas: I’m sorry, I–

[ Sighs ] I can’t do this. – You like that bone?

Deacon: Sheila, no matter what’s happened, nobody can take away what you and I shared. And I can honestly say that I have never, ever met anyone like you.

Sheila: Well, that’s nice to know. But tell me, is there, uh… anyone special in your life now?

Deacon: I don’t have time for romance. I live and breath that restaurant. I’m going to make that the hottest place in town.

Sheila: I can’t say I’m disappointed to hear that you– you haven’t found someone special.

Deacon: It’s not so easy to replace the one and only sheila carter.

Sheila: Yeah. Some days I feel like I– I just have no hope. And then I– I think about you. I– I think about… the memories that– that we made together and– and that really helps me get through things here. I’m really thankful that you came, deacon.

Wyatt: Okay. Here’s what I want you to do. All right? Just humor me. Okay? Let’s try and… pretend that the kiss never happened.

Wyatt: Hey. Hi. I heard you were in here. Just didn’t know you were coming back today, considering– so how did it go with hope? That good, huh?

Steffy: I thought I made myself clear back in rome. Look, I– I know you’re going through a lot right now. You’re freaking out about what you saw. Hope and thomas kissing and maybe you think that you made a mistake putting your trust in hope. I don’t know. But I feel bad for you. I really do. But you can’t come here and kiss me. I am a married woman, liam. Happily married. You need to respect that.

[ Sighs ]

[ Door opens ]

Finn: Hey.

Steffy: Hey.

Finn: Tried calling you. You okay? I’m sure thomas freaked when he realized his secret kiss with hope isn’t a secret after all.

Steffy: Thomas was totally blindsided when I told him I knew about the kiss.

Finn: He had no idea that anyone saw him at the colosseum with hope?

Steffy: No.

Finn: Hm.

Steffy: He was pretty upset when I told him. And he was concerned about hope and her marriage and he urged me not to say anything. But he was even more stunned to hear that I heard about the kiss from liam.

Wyatt: So what happened with you and hope?

Liam: I mean, she apologized. She… asked for forgiveness.

Wyatt: I mean, I still can’t believe she’d do something like this. I mean, jeopardize your marriage just to kiss thomas.

Liam: Neither can I.

Wyatt: So? Were you able to do what she asked though? Have you gotten to a place where you can maybe forgive her and save your marriage?

Hope: You know, liam warned me. My mom warned me, but I insisted that everything was fine. You know, you were his biggest fear in our marriage. And what did I do? I– I kissed you. Me. Steffy: Thomas was shocked that liam saw hope kissing him. He didn’t even know liam was in rome. Thomas said that they were just caught up in the moment after the preview. That’s all it was. But honestly, he didn’t really have any excuses. He wasn’t defending himself. He just feels terrible and he doesn’t want hope to end up hurt.

Finn: But hope had no intention of telling her husband?

Steffy: I guess not.

Finn: Hm. Yeah, she put my brother in a terrible position.

Finn: True. But thomas is a grown man. He could have stopped hope from kissing him or, you know, never been alone with her in one of the most romantic cities in the world.

Steffy: Yeah. I don’t– I don’t see this ending well. We know that my brother has made changes in his life, wonderful changes, but… liam doesn’t buy it. He doesn’t trust him and now he doesn’t trust hope. And he’s always been able to blame thomas and he always sees hope as this innocent woman. And now I think he finally realizes that hope’s the issue and I’m sure he can’t get that image of hope and thomas kissing out of his head.

Wyatt: Do you think you could possibly forgive hope?

Liam: I would have to understand what’s going on with her first. Why did she do this?

Wyatt: Yeah, I mean, she knows you’ve had issues with thomas for a while now. Like why would she do the one thing that would ruin your marriage?

Liam: I mean, she, you know, she told me she loves me. She asked for forgiveness, but she can’t explain why– she can’t explain why she did the thing that she wants my forgiveness for. And that scares me. I mean, how foolish do I have to be? Here I was traveling halfway across the world to show her my love and support. And it turns out she’s– she’s moved on, she’s fallen for somebody else in the eternal city, like, you know.

Wyatt: Yeah, if you think about it that way, it’s pretty egregious. But you’ve been in this situation before, liam. You’ve both made mistakes in the past and you’ve both been able to forgive each other for your sake and for the marriage and for the children.

Liam: Yeah. But… what do I do if it’s just a fact that I can’t trust her anymore? Because wyatt, I’m not– I don’t wanna be that guy that doesn’t have confidence in his own marriage. That’s constantly walking around wondering if his wife is cheating on him. That’s not who I want to be and it’s not who I’m willing to become.

Wyatt: Okay. You sound pretty resolved about this. So what– what are you saying exactly?

Liam: I’m saying what I said to her. I– I still want a divorce.

Thomas: Liam will get over this, okay? It was just a kiss.

Hope: You know he will never see this as just a kiss.

[ Sighs ] Man, I– I’m sorry. I just– well, how did hope take it? I mean, I’m sure she doesn’t want that.

Liam: I mean, no, she was– she was fighting for another chance, at least at first.

Wyatt: Okay. But what about you? Like is this– this really it? Like you want a divorce?

Hope: No, thomas, don’t do that. I– I don’t want you feeling guilty. And yes, in the past, you may have struggled with certain things but this, what– what happened between us, that’s on me.

Thomas: No. Look, you were– you were caught up in the city. You were in rome, one of the most beautiful places and– and the success of our line. And I wanted you to bask in the glory of that and I should have just kept my distance.

Hope: Well, the thing is thomas I, um– I wanted to be close to you. I’ve, um, been fighting this for a while now and I’m not proud of it. I um– I don’t even understand it. And yet I still gave in, knowing the risks. I kissed you. And so, yes, maybe– maybe there is something wrong with me.

Thomas: No, no. Hold on. No, no, there’s nothing wrong with you. There’s never been anything wrong with you. You’re one of the most wonderful, loving, committed people…

Steffy: So, wait, you’re okay with everyone painting you as the villain just to protect hope? Well, the thing is, the truth is already out. Liam is the one who told me. Liam saw hope kissing you in front of the colosseum. He knows everything.

Hope: He is douglas’ father.

Liam: You gotta stop saying that ’cause it’s more than that. You have feelings for him. You are attracted to him. You want him. And what’s worse than that is that you’ve spent months accusing me of being jealous, of being controlling, of being unsupportive of your career. You made me feel crazy when you knew all along that what I was seeing was real. That– that, I can’t forgive. Of course, I’ve made mistakes. We’ve both made mistakes, we’ve both forgiven, but you’ve always known, not thomas, never thomas.

[Stomach growling]

R.J.: After what happened in rome, do you think hope’s marriage is gonna be able to survive?

Ridge: R.J.

R.J.: What?

Brooke: I don’t know. Honestly, the more I think about it, the more it just doesn’t make sense. Hope’s always been the good girl, you know, living her life with principles and morals. I never thought that this would happen. I never thought she would risk everything that she believed in just for a moment with thomas.

Thomas: Hold on a second. You– you said that liam saw us? That’s not possible. He wasn’t in rome.

Steffy: Yeah, liam regretted his decision not to be there for hope and her line. So, he surprised her. He flew to rome. He wanted to show how committed he was to their life and their marriage and instead, he saw his wife kissing you. I ran into liam after you and hope kissed and I– I’ve never seen him so heartbroken and disillusioned.

[ Liam sobbing ]

Steffy: Oh, my god, liam. Hey. [ Sighs ]

Thomas: I– I don’t know, I feel like I should talk to him.

Steffy: What? No, no, no, you don’t– you don’t have to do that. Liam saw hope kiss you.

Steffy: He knows that she was the one who initiated it and you already know how liam feels about you. Look, I– I tried to convince him to be able to find some forgiveness. I just, I don’t know if he’ll be able to do that.

Thomas: I have caused hope so much pain in her life and I– I– I don’t want to be responsible for any more of it. I mean, that time in rome, that should have been a highlight for her and her life and her career. But instead it’s, like, gonna be some kind of dark cloud, and it could lead to the end of her marriage.

Hope: We’ve always found our way back to each other. Liam, the life that we have built with each other, with beth, that is worth saving, that is worth fighting for. And I know that I have made mistakes, but like you said, we both have and we have always managed to find forgiveness.

Liam: Like I said, if it had been anyone else, you know, we– we’d have found our way back. We would have. But… with thomas, I can’t, I just… I can’T.

Hope: So, you’re saying there’s no way forward for us? You’re closing that door?

[ Sobbing ] Uh… I, um… I just have to ask. Have you seen steffy since this all happened? You have, haven’t you? Wow.

[ Laughs ] Oh. So, maybe it’s– it’s not just me. That’s the problem here, right? I mean, you… keep mentioning thomas, but steffy has always had a seat at the table in our relationship and our marriage, and you did go see her, didn’t you? Let me guess, you want her back now? Yeah. Liam, that’s pretty predictable.

Liam: Hey, hope. I haven’t had a single thought about steffy. But I’m thinking about her now. You know everything thomas has done. Pain and the suffering that he’s caused us, and there has to be something broken inside of you for you to want him, for you to want that.

Hope: Maybe you’re right.

Liam: Yeah. Goodbye, hope.

Brooke: Hope and I have had some painful conversations. I– I never thought my past would influence her the way it has.

R.J.: No, mom, don’t blame yourself for this. All right? Hope is her own person and she’s gonna fix her relationship with liam in her own way. Okay?

Brooke: Okay. But I’m also concerned about some of the things she said to me. Like she doesn’t want to be anything like me and how she has no desire to live her life like I’ve lived mine.

Ridge: All right, but you gotta understand that she was upset and you know how much she loves you and respects you.

Brooke: I think the reason she was lashing out at me was because she was starting to have feelings stirring inside of her for another man, the wrong man. And it may have cost hope her relationship with liam.

Liam: I have begged you so many times to keep thomas out of your life. And when you don’t, we all pay the price.

Hope: Okay, fine. Fine. Fine, I’ll tell him no. I changed my mind.

Liam: What are you saying?

Hope: I asked thomas to come back to hope for the future. Thomas and I are… going to be working together… again. Liam, I don’t want to hurt you. But thomas is my lead designer. He is my partner and… I can’t imagine being in rome without him.

Liam: Of course, I’ve made mistakes. We’ve both made mistakes. We’ve both forgiven. But you’ve always known, not thomas, never thomas. I want a divorce.

[ Knock on the door ]

Hope: Liam knows. He saw us in italy.

Thomas: I know. Steffy told me. I– I was gonna call but I didn’t know if it’d make the situation worse. Did you talk to liam? What did he say?

Hope: Well, I tried to explain it. I tried to make sense of it. That we weren’T… exactly thinking, but he did not want to hear that. And, um… yeah, after everything we have been through… liam doesn’t see a way forward for us. Liam wants a divorce.

Hope: What?

Liam: I want a divorce.

[ Steffy sighing ]

Liam: I think my marriage is over.

Ridge: I’m sorry I was so late last night.

Brooke: No, it’s okay. I felt you come in. I know you’re there, even in my sleep.

Ridge: Really?

Brooke: Mm-hmm. In my sleep, in my dreams.

[ Brooke chuckling ]

Ridge: I was gonna make up for it this morning when I woke up, no logan.

Brooke: Well, I had to help hope take the kids to camp this morning. But I did kiss you on the cheek when I left.

Ridge: Yeah, that– that was a dream.

Brooke: Oh, you thought that? What about this?

Ridge: Hm. That’s better than a dream. Why did you have to help hope? What– what was it? Where’s liam? What’s going on?

Ridge: What’s going on? Is it the kids? Is there something…

Brooke: Uh, no– no, the kids are fine. It’s hope.

Ridge: It’s hope? She should be at the top of the world right now after what she and thomas pulled off in rome.

Brooke: Yeah. I’m just concerned about my daughter’s marriage with liam.

Ridge: Why?

Steffy: Hey.

Finn: You didn’t even hear me come into the room. What are you thinking about?

Steffy: I was thinking about you. How lucky I am to have you and the kids.

Finn: Hm. Okay. Now, I could buy that, but, uh, I think it’s more likely you were thinking about how hope kissed your brother.

Steffy: How could you do something like that?

[ Knocking on door ]

Rj: Hey.

Hope: Hi.

Rj: Is it okay if I come in? Is it a good time?

Hope: Yeah, of course. Come in. I just, I, um, it’s a bit of a mess. I haven’t really had a lot of time. I mean, I haven’t even unpacked yet, um…

Rj: Can I– can I help you at all?

Hope: No, no, no, no, it’s fine. I– I got it. Um, the kids have been dropped off at camp and uh, I’m gonna work from home today, so…

Rj: Hope, can I– can I help you with all this? Has he texted you or anything?

Hope: Um, no, but I’m– I’m good. I– I’ve got it managed. I’ll be fine.

Rj: You know, it’s okay if you’re not.

Hope: Rj, um… liam’s gone. He’s gone.

Rj: It’s okay. Come here.

Hope: No, it’s my fault.

Wyatt: Hey.

Liam: Hi.

Wyatt: You’re all ready?

Liam: Yeah, well, it doesn’t take long to get ready when it’s just me.

Wyatt: Right. Look, uh, I– I know you’re hurt and spending the night away made sense, but after you’ve had a little time to think it through… are you gonna go home to hope or not? Ffy: No, I think it’s better that thomas ridge: What?

Ridge: Hope and thomas kissing in rome. How does this happen?

Brooke: I don’t know. But she didn’t even know that liam was there until she got home.

Ridge: This whole time, I thought thomas was getting better. He was done with this obsession with hope, but no, he’s running around rome, kissing your daughter.

Brooke: Uh, it wasn’t thomas that kissed hope.

Ridge: What?

Brooke: Hope kissed him.

Finn: You sure you don’t want me to stay? I mean, I could push my rounds an hour.

Steffy: No, I think it’s better that thomas and i have this conversation brother to sister. He needs to know that his secret is no longer a secret anymore.

Finn: Hmph.

Thomas: Steff.

Steffy: Yeah.

Thomas: Hey. Oh, finn, are you on the way to the hospital?

Finn: I am. Congrats on the show, by the way. I heard it was a great success.

Thomas: Best time of my life.

Finn: Okay. Well, I gotta run but, um, hey, just call me if you need me.

Steffy: Yeah. Love you.

Finn: Love you. See ya.

Thomas: See ya. So your– your text seemed important. What’s up?

Steffy: I know what happened between you and hope in rome.

Rj: Hope, here you go.

Hope: Thank you. I mean, you really– you really shouldn’T. I mean, you don’t have to take care of me. And besides, it’s not like I deserve it.

Rj: Hey, look at me. Stop it, all right. Stop beating yourself up.

Hope: I think this might be over and it’s because of something that I did. And how– how could I do that with a man that he hates more than anyone? I mean, I– I kissed thomas.

Rj: Hope, look at me. It’s all gonna be okay.

Wyatt: You know hope loves you, right?

Liam: Do I know that? She didn’t look very in love with me when she was making out with thomas at the colosseum.

Wyatt: Okay. You– you feel betrayed? I– I get that, all right. You– you have every right to feel that way, especially after hope kisses thomas, of all freaking people. The guy who’s been wreaking havoc on your life for years now. It’s unthinkable. But liam, you– you’re married. You have a family, you got a daughter you gotta think about here. Are– are you willing to just throw all that away?

Liam: I’m not the one throwing it away.

Wyatt: I just want to know something. Are you not willing to fight for it? Are you not willing to go to hope and just try– just try to find some kind of forgiveness?

Ridge: So hope started this, not thomas? And liam saw them?

Brooke: Yes, it’s terrible.

Ridge: How does this happen?

Brooke: I don’t know. I guess she got swept up in the moment. You know, that feeling of success and excitement over the preview for hope for the future.

Ridge: I would love to say that this has never happened to anybody else, but it has, to us. We’ve had moments like this–

Brooke: Right. I guess it’s hard for somebody to understand unless they’ve gone through it, you know, feeling that euphoria.

Ridge: But knowing how liam feels about thomas…

Brooke: I’m sure he feels very betrayed. He left. He walked out on hope.

Thomas: Rome was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I mean, the– the preview, the press conference, hope and I rocked it.

Steffy: I– I guess I’m more interested in, you know, what you did after the press conference.

Thomas: I guess all the– the normal stuff. Exploring around, you know, when in rome…

Steffy: Did you swing by the colosseum?

Rj: Hope, liam might have left, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get through this.

Hope: Yeah, but thomas has been the worst for us so many times. I mean, I don’t understand why I did it. I don’t know if it’s because I got caught up in rome and the showing and the celebrating, but it wasn’t real. I mean, that was just A… that’s a fantasy. I– I just, I feel like maybe I have just… trapped myself with all of these expectations and standards and it’s almost like I’ve built this gilded cage for myself of righteousness and control. And sometimes I catch myself wondering what it might feel like to just break free and just stop caring so much about what other people think and how other people feel. And I guess I am just figuring that out right now. And liam is never going to forgive me for this, by the way. He’s not– he’s not because I betrayed him with a man who has done horrible things to our family. I mean, what is wrong with me? How can I fix this?

Rj: You made one mistake. One. That’s it, okay? Once liam realizes that, he’s gonna walk through that door, right? And then it’s gonna be okay.

Wyatt: I’m on your side, you know that, right? Like 100%.

Liam: No, I do. I do know that. Thank you.

Wyatt: Okay. So as someone who loves you and cares about you and looking out for your family… I mean, you know, nothing’s ever going to get solved if you don’t talk about it, right? So go to hope, give her a chance to explain this a little better and– and keep an open mind, you know, just… let her try to fix it.

Brooke: Oh…

Ridge: Hey, hope and liam, they’re gonna find their way back to each other.

Brooke: Yeah, well, it just can’t tear their family apart. Hope really regrets what she’s done. She wishes she could take it all back. She wishes it didn’t happen at all, but it did. She made a mistake. I mean, god knows we’ve made a few.

Ridge: We have. We’ll be here if they need us. Look, the two of them, they love each other. And love, I don’t know, has a way of making people find their way back to each other.

Brooke: Yeah.

Ridge: Yeah.

Brooke: Yeah.

Thomas: Uh, well, no trip to rome would be complete without seeing the colosseum.

Steffy: Mm-hmm. So much history. Tragedy too.

Thomas: Yeah.

Steffy: You know, thomas, when I saw your designs, I was absolutely floored. You did such an amazing job, but it was also a reflection of you.

Thomas: Well, I mean, no, I mean, it was– it was hope’s vision. I just executed it.

Steffy: Yeah, but without you, hope’s vision would be just an idea. Not a reality. She needs you.

Thomas: Okay. Steff, where’s all this coming from?

Steffy: I know what happened, thomas. You worked so hard to do right by her. You have turned your life around and that didn’t matter to hope. No, it didn’T. I know she kissed you.

Hope: I, um, I didn’t know if you would come home. I’ve been texting you and calling you and… well, the kids are already at camp. They missed you this morning. Don’t worry, I covered, I said you had an early morning meeting.

Liam: I– I spent the night at my dad’S.

Hope: Okay. Well… right, well, um, obviously I have had a lot of time to think about everything. About how I could act so recklessly. When I think about it– it’s almost like I don’t even recognize myself. I don’t know who that person is and that’s– that’s not an excuse. I’m not making any excuses. You deserve so much more than that. But… there’s’s a little bit of a problem now because I’m not sure you’re even going to believe anything I say. I just can only hope and pray that you will hear me. Liam, I love you and I love our family and the life that we share together is precious to me and I will do everything I can to try to earn back your trust. I will. I’m just begging for a chance to do that. And I know I hurt you and I’m so sorry and I can see the pain in your eyes. And I hate more than anything that I am the person that put that there. I never, ever wanted you to look at me like that.

Liam: Never thought I could.

Hope: But that can change. Liam, that can change. And I know that because we– we still love each other. I know you love me and I am so sorry that I betrayed you with thomas, of all people. I am just asking you to please allow me a chance to repair the damage that I have done. Our family is worth fighting for. We can get through anything together. And I have to believe that– that a part of you knows that, liam. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be here. Liam, you’re here now. You showed up. That’s what matters. Please, please let me fix this. Please. Can you say that you can forgive me? I love you.

Steffy: You can’t do that. I thought I made myself clear back in rome. Look, I– I know you’re going through a lot right now. You’re freaking out about what you saw, hope and thomas kissing and maybe you think that you made a mistake putting your trust in hope. I– I don’t know, but I feel bad for you. I– I really do. But you can’t come here and kiss me. I am a married woman, liam. Happily married.Ed to respect that.

Rj: You’re serious? He– liam flew all the way to rome and then he came back without saying a word to you? ‘Cause he saw you in the colosseum kissing thomas?

Ridge: Thomas.

Thomas: Hey, dad.

Ridge: You know what these are?

Thomas: I do not.

Ridge: These are the orders from rome. Lots of orders from rome. Your commitment to hope for the future really paid off. Proud of you.

Thomas: Thank you.

Ridge: Hope’s gotta feel pretty good about the choice she made.

Thomas: What do you mean?

Ridge: Asking you to come back to work. It couldn’t have been easy for her knowing how liam feels about you. But I gotta say, even liam’s gotta agree that this was the right thing after everything that happened with you and hope in rome. You’re important to her. Made a big impact in her life.

Hope: I have a feeling liam will leave me because of this.

Rj: No, come on.

Hope: Really? I mean, he has. He’s already– he’s gone and I don’t know if or when he’s ever going to come back, so–

Brooke: Hope, I was wondering– oh!

Rj: Hey.

Brooke: Hi, rj. Everything okay? What’s wrong? What’s going on?

Rj: This has to come from you, not me.

Hope: Um… [ Chuckling ] Okay. I… I think my marriage might be over.

Brooke: What?

Hope: Yeah. Liam walked out.

Brooke: Walked out?

Hope: On me. On our marriage. I think it’s over.

Steffy: Look, when you kissed me before, as– as crazy as that was, I was willing to forgive it, understand it. You were extremely upset. You saw hope and thomas kissing and you reacted impulsively. That I could let go. I could pretend like it never happened. I was hoping that we would never talk about it again, but it looks like we do need to talk about it.

Liam: No, I– I know. I– you’re right. I– I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that. I– I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but it doesn’t solve anything. And you– you’re– you’re happily married like you said. You have a family that you love.

Steffy: Okay. Okay. Whatever this is, you need to snap out of it because this could never, ever happen again. Hey, dad. I got an a on my book report.

Ridge: Could you have imagined that a year ago, a year ago, could you have imagined that a month ago, you and hope would be doing what you did in rome?

Thomas: I used to think about it a lot. What we could achieve. You know, it’s hard to think that it actually happened.

Ridge: But do you know why it happened?

Thomas: My unbelievable talent.

Ridge: No. It’s because you earned her trust and you earned her respect. And not just professionally, but personally. And that showed in your work.

Thomas: It’s good to know that she has faith in me.

Ridge: She’s not the only one. Son, I hate to bring this up, but I am– I’m so glad that you’ve gotten over this obsession with hope. It’s good to see you here. I have my son back. Believe it or not, people really like that guy.

Brooke: Hope, this doesn’t make sense. What reason would liam have to leave you? He adores you and he loves his family very much.

Hope: Oh, I know. I know that, mom. And that’s just making it even harder.

Brooke: Okay. Why don’t you just tell me what happened?

Hope: Rome happened.

Brooke: Rome was a success.

Hope: For the line, yes.

Brooke: But liam should be very proud of you, honey. What happened in rome that would make him wanna walk out on you? I mean, he wasn’t even there.

Hope: He– he was actually.

Brooke: What?

Hope: Yeah, he came and he wanted to surprise me.

Brooke: Oh, I didn’t see him there.

Rj: Just tell her. She’s not gonna judge you.

Brooke: Hope?

Hope: No, I– I never saw liam either, but I guess he– he saw me. With thomas.

Brooke: With thomas? What does he have to do with this? Oh, okay. What did thomas do now?

Steffy: We have both moved on, both remarried. I am in a relationship, one where I feel safe, loved and respected.

Liam: I don’T. I haven’t felt that way in a long time and hope never respected my wishes about her working with a damn maniac no offense.

Steffy: Offense taken. Please do not insult my brother. He has worked really hard on himself.

Liam: Okay. You’re right. I’m sorry. But honestly, how many times has thomas insulted me? How many times has he trashed me? How many times has– how many different ways has he targeted me and my marriage and my family? How much pain and suffering has he caused? How– how could hope stand to be anywhere near that? Let alone wanna– wanna touch him and kiss him. Thomas? Really? Your brother? Really? How– how could she want that? How?

Steffy: I don’t know. I– I really don’t know what to say, what I can do to comfort you, but it’s definitely not with this kiss, that I do know. I understand that you’re hurt and you feel betrayed, but that doesn’t justify turning to me. Look, I– I wanna help you through this and I will help you through this. Liam… look, I believe that you and hope will find your way back to each other. I really do. Or not. Either way, you can’t just come here and kiss me. Look, we’re always gonna be close. We’re kelly’s parents. But that is all.

Liam: Yeah.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

Thomas: Wow. That’s coming together fast.

Ridge: Yeah. Huh? Well, maybe watching brooke, uh, model inspired me again. I don’t know.

Thomas: Oh, that’s a little weird, but keep ’em coming nonetheless.

Ridge: Thomas?

Thomas: Mm-hmm.

Ridge: Thanks again.

Thomas: For what?

Ridge: For understanding. Maybe even in your own way, supporting me and brooke getting back together.

Thomas: Well, if that is not a sign that I have changed, I don’t know what is.

Ridge: I know this isn’t easy for you, not easy for your sister, and I know it’s not easy for your mom, but I’m trying. At least hope is in a good place. It’s a start.

Brooke: Ah! I knew it. I knew thomas would be a problem. I mean, all this talk of bettering himself and working so hard to make himself a better person, going to therapy, that was all a lie. What did he do? What did he do to make liam wanna walk out on you?

Hope: He didn’t do anything, mom. It was me.

Brooke: What could you have done, sweetie?

Hope: Well, uh…

[ Chuckling ] You called it. You know, you saw it coming a million miles away that there’s just something in me, I guess, that makes me want to cross that line and I, um, I kissed the one man that could destroy everything.

[ Brooke sighing ]

Brooke: So, you kissed thomas.

Steffy: Liam, I know you don’t wanna hear this, but you gotta forgive hope. I’m not saying it’s gonna be easy. It isn’T. But you and hope have a beautiful family and you need to think about beth.

Liam: Was hope thinking about beth when she was sticking her tongue down your brother’s throat?

Steffy: Okay. Liam, you gotta figure out a way to get through this pain and forgive her.

Liam: Yeah, but I can’t, so.

Steffy: People make mistakes. We both know that.

Liam: Yeah. No, I know that. I’ve made plenty.

Steffy: Mistakes hope’s forgiven you for.

Liam: Yeah. Well, maybe she’s a better person than I am. I don’t know. But looking forward, how am I supposed to exist with thomas as a constant presence in my life and my marriage after this? And it’s not just co-parenting douglas, it’s working together with hope on the line. It’s–

Steffy: Maybe that changes. Maybe hope leaves forrester creations and thomas takes over and she can focus on your marriage and prove that she’s committed to you.

Liam: Steffy, hope is not gonna do that. And even if she did, I don’t know how it would work. I don’t know how I’d be able to trust. It– it’s just– it’s– it’s too painful given everything that thomas has done. And for her to still want to– uh, I just– I can’T. I’m done. I’m done. But I– but I didn’t mean to upset you and I am really sorry for my behavior. Kayaking is my thing.

Thomas: We are in rome.

Everything is a feast

Hope: Mom, thomas didn’t do anything. It was me. I was the one who kissed someone that I never should have. I was the one who acted irresponsibly, recklessly– [ Chuckling ] Inappropriately. I mean, that’s me, right? That’s who I’ve become now. Turning to a man that I should be disgusted by.

Brooke: Honey, is this what you want? You want a life with thomas?

Hope: No. No. I want– I want my husband. I want our life together. I want– I love him. I love our kids and I don’t know why– why I would risk losing everything. I mean, I am not proud of this, mom. I take full responsibility. This is on me and I am ashamed and I am embarrassed by it.

[ Voice breaking ] And I want more than anything to just save my marriage. I don’t wanna lose it. I don’t want to give up on it. And I don’t wanna give up on liam.

Liam: I really do mean it, steffy. I’m– I’m sorry I did that.

Steffy: I’m glad to hear that because if you think there was ever a chance that I would leave finn and go back to you… I’m married and so are you.

Liam: Not for much longer.

Steffy: Well, I’m– I’m sorry about that. I truly am, but I like my life and my marriage and I’m not changing that for anything. So my advice, go back to hope. She asked for forgiveness, right?

Liam: Yeah, she did.

Steffy: Okay. Well, go back to her. Go back to hope and your family and what happened here today and in rome, we don’t talk about that again, okay? Get outta here. Go back to your wife.

Finn: I’m gonna go, babe. I’m gonna be late.

Steffy: Yeah, I wanted to be wrong. For liam’s sake.

Finn: He flew halfway across the world to find his wife kissing another man.

Steffy: Liam has always said that hope is the most forgiving person he has ever known. So, maybe he can find forgiveness to keep their marriage alive.

Finn: Liam didn’t catch hope just kissing any man.

Steffy: I know. And that’s why I feel bad for thomas in all this.

Finn: Yeah, but knowing everything that your brother has put liam and hope through in the past and how much liam distrusts thomas, I mean, I have a hard time believing that liam is just gonna accept and forgive hope’s feelings for thomas.

Hope: Liam, I know that you are hurt and I know that you are angry.

Liam: I’m hurt and I’m angry because I can’t unsee you kissing thomas. That’s why I’m hurt and angry.

Hope: So then– so then stop thinking about it! Just try to think about the future of our family. About beth, about douglas.

Liam: I am thinking about beth! I am thinking about douglas. I am thinking about how this is going to affect them, only this time, the threat to our happiness is not just thomas, is it? It’s you! It’s you. And you’ve been gaslighting me for months. All this time, I was so worried that something would happen and never thought it was this. I never thought it would be you pursuing him, you kissing him, you falling for him.

Hope: It’s not like that! It wasn’t like that. I know– I know you want some sort of ex– explanation, but I can’t give you one, because there is none, because I don’t even understand it. I didn’t want this. I don’t know why I’m feeling this way. I don’t– I was trying to fight against it, and I just– [ Sobs ] It’s not an excuse. It’s not. It’s not. Liam: I don’t believe you. I wish I could accept your apology, I just– I’m tired. I’m really tired. I– um… I’m gonna come back, I’m gonna get some of my stuff, but, um… I’m gonna leave.

Hope: Liam…

Liam: And, uh… I want a divorce.

Hope: What?

Liam: And we’ll work it out with the kids. I just, uh… I just can’T. I can’t do this anymore. And, um, plus, I don’t– I don’t really know who you are, so… bye, hope.

Finn: Hope and liam are a strong couple, but… this is a big issue.

Steffy: I warned hope to get her feelings under control. And I told liam what was going on because this is exactly what I was afraid of. Think of all the things this could impact. Their relationship, our families, the business. The line!

Finn: Yeah, I know– we don’t know anything yet, right? And a lot can still happen.

Steffy: Yeah, most of it’s bad.

Finn: Okay. I– I– I feel terrible. I gotta go to work.

Steffy: Yeah, I know. I know I made you late enough.

Finn: Look, maybe I am being pessimistic, all right? They do love each other. Maybe that’s strong enough to hold ’em together.

Steffy: You’re just saying that because you don’t want me to worry.

Finn: [ Chuckles ] I’m saying that because I know that that kind of love exists. Whether they have it or not, I don’t know. I know one couple that does. Okay.

[ Knock on door ]

Hope: Liam!

Rj: Hey. What’s up?

Hope: Rj, hi.

Rj: I heard you were home, and I just wanted to stop by and congratulate you on your success. Hey, what’s– what’s going on? What’s wrong?

Wyatt: Hey. Uh, I got your message. Why’d you want to meet here? Is dad back?

Liam: I tried to talk to her. I– I asked her, “how was your trip?” But she didn’t– she just wanted to talk about how– how good it was until she saw my italian luggage tags on my bag. And then she wondered why I would go all the way to rome and not see her.

Wyatt: Only you– you did…

Liam: Yeah, I sure did.

[ Sighs ] Now, I can’t unsee her. The love of my life making out with my worst enemy. And she kissed him, too. My god, she just– she initiated the whole thing. She just went for it.

Wyatt: [ Scoffs ] Oh, okay, fine. You– you saw your wife kissing thomas of all people, and it’s freaking heartbreaking. But liam–

Liam: Hey, I can’T. I’m telling you that I can’t do that anymore. It’s so obvious hope has feelings for thomas, even if she can’t admit it to herself at this point. I mean, after– after everything that he’s done to us and our marriage and our family… it doesn’t matter what angle you look at this from. My feelings are not gonna change.

Wyatt: Okay, but that’s what you’re feeling right now. And you’re in the heat of it right now, right? That– it’s understandable–

Liam: Wyatt. Wyatt.

Wyatt: I’d be pissed off too.

[ Wyatt sighs ]

Rj: You just got back from rome. Your collection was a hit! You did great. I thought– I thought you’d be on top of the world right now.

Hope: [ Laughs ] I was… until I messed it all up.

Rj: Where’s liam? Is liam here?

Hope: No. I was so excited to get home and to see him and the kids and to tell them all about my trip. I mean, I even got them, like, little souvenirs, and… instead I come home and liam’s just sitting there alone.

[ Sobs ]

Rj: What’s going on, hope? Talk to me, all right? Tell me what happened.

Hope: Okay. Um… liam wanted to know everything about the trip, and so I told him about the preview and the press event, and, um, you know, that it was a success. And– and then I saw, right over there, his luggage with a tag from the rome airport.

Rj: He– he ended up going to rome? Oh, that’s great! Well, finn and I were trying to convince him to go to surprise you.

Hope: He missed the entire event and I didn’t even see him.

Rj: He went all the way there and you– you didn’t even see him?

Hope: Oh, no, no. He saw me, um… at the colosseum. I just– I didn’t know.

Rj: So he– he saw you but he didn’t speak a word to you? Hope, that doesn’t make any sense.

Hope: Yeah. Rj, you should know that after the big event, and it was a success, and it was great, and we were all celebrating, I wanted to go sightseeing. And I wasn’t really thinking, and I just, um… got caught up in the moment, and I, um, I– I– I was, um… I was at the colosseum, but I– I wasn’t alone.

Rj: Were you with thomas? I know he doesn’t like seeing the two of you together, but you’re saying that he saw the two of you celebrating together and that pissed him off so much that he flew all the way back to la? Why, hope?

[ Knock on door ]

Steffy: Liam.

Liam: Hi. I didn’t, um, see finn’s car in the driveway.

Steffy: Yeah, he left for the hospital. What’s going on? Why are you here?

[]

Hope: You know, I– I don’t want to lay all my problems on my little brother, so.

Rj: Okay. Well, do you want me to get mom? I can get mom.

Hope: No! No. She’ll learn about it sooner or later. Everyone will.

Rj: Learn what? Is this about liam not staying in rome? ‘Cause I can tell something happened when you got home. I mean, you said he was here and now he’s not. Did you guys just have an argument?

Hope: Yes, and I have never seen him more hurt or disillusioned.

Rj: With you? Why? Hope, you’re an amazing mom and an amazing wife. He’s lucky to have you. All right, this is– this is all some kind of misunderstanding. You know.. [ Laughs ] …What kind of guy flies all the way to rome just to surprise his wife? I think he cares about her a little bit. And yeah, he– he saw you with thomas, and that’s gonna piss him off, and it’s always gonna piss him off, but that doesn’t change the fact that he absolutely loves you.

Hope: Yeah, he did.

Rj: He did? That’s a question now? So you’re saying he saw you and thomas together in rome, and just that freaked him out so much that he went back to la? What did he see, hope?

Hope: Rj, you know how much family means to me, and how much I love liam and our kids, and that is the truth. And even though liam might not believe it right now, it, um… I guess that I don’t really blame him for thinking that after what he saw.

[ Chuckles tearfully ] So, um, yeah. When I– when he saw me at the colosseum, I wasn’t just with thomas. I kissed him.

Steffy: Liam, what’s going on?

Liam: How’s kelly? Is she happy you’re home?

Steffy: Kelly’s fine. It’s not why you’re here, is it? You were waiting for hope to get home. So what– what happened? Did she admit to kissing thomas?

Liam: Ha! No. No, I had to tell her what I saw.

Steffy: So what did– what did she say?

Liam: “I’m sorry. I don’t know what came over me. Please forgive me.”

Steffy: Well, did you? Did you forgive her?

Liam: Well, I left her. So, I’m done with this, steffy. Hope and I are over.

Steffy: No, liam. Liam, you don’t– you don’t mean that.

Liam: I do. Well, I mean it enough to ask for a divorce.

Steffy: A divorce?

Liam: Steffy, I– I can’t even look at her. What am I supposed to do?

Steffy: Oh, my god.

Liam: Hope and me…

[ Scoffs ] …We’re done. Okay? I just– I can’t– I can’t keep doing this over and over again. I just can’T. I gotta… I gotta move on with my life.

Hope: Liam, please, let me explain.

Finn: Liam flies all the way to rome to surprise hope.

Steffy: He went to support her, to be a devoted husband,

Finn: Pulling thomas in for a kiss. That’s rough. I mean, I totally would have freaked out.

Steffy: Yeah, liam is completely devastated. I haven’t seen him this brokenhearted and disillusioned in a long time.

Rj: So I hear congratulations are in order.

Ridge: Why is that? ‘Cause your parents are finally back together?

Rj: [Chuckles] Yeah. I’m very happy for you guys.

Ridge: Well, you know what that means, right? Gonna have to help me get all my stuff out of granddad’s house so I can move in with you and mom.

Ridge: I don’t want to spend another day without you. Will you be… my logan forever?

Brooke: [Laughs] Yes! Oh, my god, yes. Yes, of course.

Taylor: Welcome home.

Brooke: [Chuckles, sighs]

Taylor: So, I heard that rome was… everything you hoped it would be.

Rj: So you’re not gonna, like, make me mow the lawn for my allowance or anything, are you?

Ridge: Big influencer like you, you probably have more money than I do.

Rj: Yeah, not quite.

Thomas: Hey, guys.

Ridge: Hey, son.

Rj: Uh, dad was just, uh… he was filling me in on everything.

Thomas: Yeah. Well, don’t worry, I’m not gonna give you a hard time about going back to brooke. Though I can’t help but feel bad for mom.

Taylor: Well, I talked to ridge earlier. I know that the two of you… are back together now.

Brooke: What do you want me to say? I’m sorry?

Taylor: I know you’re not sorry about the way any of this went down, from undermining thomas and my family, and especially from not being honest with me about what was going down with ridge.

Finn: So you ran into liam again right after he saw hope and thomas together?

Steffy: Yeah, I was out sightseeing and… there he was.

Finn: I can only imagine what liam is feeling. Finding his wife kissing another man.

Liam: Did you forget all the things thomas has done to us?

Hope: No.

Liam: Steffy warned me. She warned me about you, about your feelings for him, and I didn’t believe it. I said, no, nope, nope, nope. No way, there’s no way that hope would betray me, betray our marriage, knowing how I feel, knowing how much it would hurt me. She would never do that. Not hope. That’s exactly what you did. Isn’t it? How? How? Could you do that? People call it the biggest smalltown festival in minnesota.

Ridge: Even though I’m with brooke, I’m never gonna stop caring about taylor.

Thomas: I do have a feeling that there is no love lost between mom and brooke, though.

Ridge: No.

Rj: Unless their friendship can somehow come back from this?

Ridge: Oh, I don’t think so. I think their rivalry is alive and well.

Taylor: I trusted you. I did. I believed that our friendship was real.

Brooke: It was. To me, anyway.

Taylor: How? How could it have been real to you? You continued to use thomas’s past against him.

Brooke: God, what are you talking about? God! I’ve been very supportive of thomas, very forgiving.

Taylor: Okay, maybe for a minute. But as soon as you realized your daughter had feelings for him, you went right back to manipulating.

Brooke: Give me a break, taylor.

Taylor: That’s all this has been for you, brooke. It’s all you do, is manipulate. And this whole time it’s just been about… getting back with ridge.

Brooke: Wow. I could say the same about you.

Taylor: No, you can’t, brooke. You lied to me, over and over. I kept asking you, did anything happen with ridge?

Brooke: Nothing happened with ridge. I didn’t lie to you. This all happened because of something you did, taylor. You broke our pact. And that is the reason we are where we are. You have nobody to blame but yourself.

Steffy: Hope and liam have to work things out. They have to.

Finn: Well, imagine if they don’t, the repercussions.

Steffy: Don’t even go there.

Finn: Well, this has to be the worst-case scenario for liam. I mean, it’s hope and thomas.

Steffy: Yeah, but luckily, nothing else happened. It was just a kiss.

Finn: Which is bad enough.

Steffy: Right. Well, maybe we shouldn’t read too much into it.

Finn: I guess we’re just gonna to have to wait and see how this all plays out.

Steffy: Yeah, I’m just praying that liam realizes this was a fleeting moment and hope just got caught up in the fairy tale.

Finn: Well, let’s hope that their marriage can survive what happened in rome.

Hope: Liam. Please, I…

Liam: Please… please what? You gotta finish the sentence. “Please forgive me”? “Liam, please let me explain”? You haven’t said it. “Liam, please let me explain”? I don’t know how to do that. How do I let you explain this? There’s no explanation for this.

Hope: No, you’re right.

Liam: After everything that he’s done to us, after all the times that he’s targeted you. And I had to watch. I had to watch you kiss him. I had to watch you take his– …you take his face in your hands. I had to watch you lean in. You chose that moment. You made it happen. You initiated, not thomas. You. You wanted it, and I gotta live with it. I don’t get to purge that from my head. I don’t– sorry, I’m feeling a little sick. Just give me a moment. We’ve seen what you would do for a klondike,

Taylor: You’re saying… that I’m to blame?

Brooke: This is your own fault.

Taylor: How?

Brooke: You disregarded our pact. You were working behind the scenes to try to push me me towards hollis or deacon.

Taylor: Oh, my god, would– would you stop? You know that isn’t true. Hollis was just for fun. And deacon–

Brooke: And you went to ridge and you told him not to have anything to do with me. Meanwhile, you were throwing yourself at him.

Taylor: Yes, that was– that was after I started putting all the pieces together, brooke. When I started to realize that you had not been honest or transparent with me about a few things. You continued to lie to me about what was building between you and ridge.

Brooke: Everything that you’re doing and saying right now, this is just a justification for doing what you did– pushing me to these other men, anybody besides ridge.

Taylor: It’s not true. I didn’t have some calculated scheme to just set you up with men.

Brooke: Keep saying that. I don’t believe it.

Taylor: I don’t care what you believe. Because this whole time you’ve just been playing your old dusty destiny card to get exactly what you want, and that’s ridge.

Rj: Thomas, can we talk about how you absolutely crushed it? Dude, hope for the future has been trending all week, and that’s all you and hope, man.

Thomas: I really appreciate that, and I appreciate your support, you posting about the event, that’s awesome.

Rj: No problem, man. Whatever I can do to help.

Ridge: You know, he’s right. Every look was a masterpiece.

Thomas: Yeah, it was pretty awesome, the whole experience.

Ridge: Yeah.

Rj: Well, I’m sure the whole trip to rome is something you’re never gonna forget.

Hope: Liam. I’m sorry. I’m sorry.

Liam: You’re sorry? You have no idea, do you? I was so excited to surprise you, to see you, take you on the stella maris for the weekend.

Hope: We can still do that.

Liam: I don’t think you understand. You knew… how I felt for months. You knew what it meant to me. You knew what it would do to me. You knew how much it would hurt me. And you blew me off and you blew me off and you blew me off over and over and over again. You told me there was nothing to worry about. I don’t know what to do, now that I know I can’t trust you anymore. I don’t know what to say. Everything I knew to be true, everything I believed in, everything I thought you stood for– honesty, integrity, family. I… I don’T… I don’t know… I don’t know who you are. But it’s not that. It’s not that. And we’re done.

Brooke: You are way off base, taylor. You were the one throwing yourself at ridge. And, oh, yeah, you invited yourself to italy when you had no reason to be there.

Taylor: No reason. This was a huge moment for thomas and I wanted to be there for my kids.

Brooke: Okay. What about all those dinners that we shared together? The movie nights, sharing popcorn in our pjs? What about all that, taylor? I mean, I thought that that was real. What happened? It just flipped. Are we now enemies?

Taylor: I don’t want to be enemies with you.

Brooke: I don’t want to be enemies either. But here we are. I guess I was just your bestie, your little bestie that you were so involved in her love life only really to get to ridge.

Taylor: Stop. I’m tired, brooke. I am really tired of this. I am tired of the back and forth for years and years of us fighting over ridge. It’s the same song, 20th verse, and I am done. Aren’t you tired of singing this?

Brooke: God, yes. I don’t want to do this, taylor.

Taylor: Okay. So here we are. You are back with ridge. Just be happy. Because I have… I have a good life. I have a happy life. I have my kids and my grandkids, and I am going… I am just going to continue… to be happy.

Finn: Yeah, um, I’ll be there shortly. Just, um… run another chem lab. I want to see if the patient’s levels have improved. Okay, yeah, we… will probably end up there.

Hope: Please don’t give up on me. Don’t give up on our marriage. It was a kiss. It was one kiss.

Liam: That I know of. And… it was with thomas. How… could that happen?

Hope: [Sobs] I don’t know. I don’t know because I don’t know. I just felt so much pressure, and I got to rome, and I felt like I could finally breathe.

Liam: Or maybe, maybe… maybe steffy’s just been right all along… and you have feelings for her brother.

Hope: [Laughs] You’re right. Thomas and I… that kiss… it’s not logical. It doesn’t make sense. I shouldn’t have feelings for him. I don’t want to have feelings for him. You ask me who I am, and I don’t even know the answer to that, liam, but what I do know is that.. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. It’s always been you. It’s been you. Please look at me.

Liam: How can that be true?

Hope: Because I’m your wife. Standing here in our in our– in our home, surrounded by our children’s toys and our memories and I’m asking you to please don’t lose sight of the big picture, even if I lost sight of it just for a moment because we could still have such a beautiful future together as a family. We could still have so much laughter and love. We don’t need to let one single kiss derail that, liam, please. Please. I know I hurt you. I know. But you have also hurt me. And I’ve forgiven you, and I’ve risen above it, and so all I’m asking is for that same chance to try to hold us together as a family. Please? Please, liam, can you forgive me?

Liam: Yeah. Yeah, I was there.

Finn: Something happened between hope and thomas in rome?

Steffy: Yeah.

Finn: And…and… but liam saw–like… what did he see?

Liam: It was hope. It was hope. She… uh, she kissed him. She… kissed him. The one thing, the– the only thing that could tear my marriage apart was your brother, and she knew that, but she kissed him anyway.

Rj: Mom, do you know how happy I am for you and dad?

Brooke: [Chuckles] Yeah. I know you came back into town not wanting to push us together or getting involved in the family drama.

Rj: That’s true. It’s true. I did say that. But hey, what kid doesn’t want to see his parents together? Especially when he knows the two of them ob y love each other?

Brooke: Sweetheart. So cute.

Rj: Love seeing that smile on you, mom. Especially when it’s because of dad for once.

Brooke: [Laughs]

Taylor: You’re absolutely sure about this? You’re getting back with brooke?

Ridge: It’s already happened.

Taylor: Are you absolutely 1000% sure that this is what you want?

Ridge: What I want is to not hurt you.

Taylor: Well… I mean, a part of me is hurting for myself. But a part of me is hurting for you, too.

Rj: Well, I guess I gotta hand it to the eternal city. It definitely seemed to work its magic on you and dad, that’s for sure.

Brooke: It was truly a remarkable moment.

Rj: Yeah? Larger than life? Kind of like your whole love story has been?

Brooke: [Laughs] Yeah. Finally a happy ending for us after all.

Rj: For you and for dad. Although I’m sure it’s going to be more complicated for dad because of taylor. I mean, I’m sure he doesn’t want to hurt her and he has to, telling her what he’s telling her right now. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m excited for the two of you. It’s a new beginning. It’s awesome. It’s great. But for taylor, it marks the end of any hope she had of getting back together again with dad. Right?

Brooke: Hmm.

Ridge: You know how much I care about you, right? How much I love you and our family and all the memories?

Taylor: We will always want what’s best for each other. I know that. But that is what makes this so hard because… because I know what always happens to you, always. More heartache and disappointment because of brooke.

Hope: So you didn’t want to tell me that you were there until now?

Liam: Yeah, I wanted to surprise you. I was going to try to make it, you know, for the… hope for the future preview just to show you how much I love you and support you. How sorry I was for doubting you. Didn’t make it in time, though. Missed the whole… missed the whole thing, the press conference, whole event, and… I kind of… wonder how differently things would’ve turned out if I had made it.

Hope: I still don’t really understand. Um… you said you were there, but you didn’t want to see me?

Liam: I didn’t say I didn’t see you.

Rj: So… just so I can be clear, that is what got you and dad back together again. Keyhole?

Brooke: Not just any keyhole. The aventino keyhole.

Rj: You’re really just loving telling this story, aren’t you?

Brooke: [Giggles] Your father told me he looked through the keyhole and he saw everything that they told him he would see.

Ridge: It’s unbelievable. Brooke!

Brooke: [Gasps] Ridge.

Ridge: I found you. I don’t want to spend another day without you. My logan.

Ridge: My beautiful, wonderful logan.

Rj: Wow. Kind of sounds like a marriage proposal. I mean, are you guys going to tie the knot sometime soon or am I getting ahead of myself?

Brooke: How would you feel if your father and I did remarry?

Rj: You kidding me? I’d be excited for you! Everyone that thinks you two should be together would be excited for you. But, you know, for… steffy, for thomas, and especially for taylor, it’s going to be a whole different story.

Taylor: I can only speak from what I’ve seen time and time again. You get pulled back into a relationship with brooke and then it’s chaos for you. But–but you know what you’re getting into, ridge. You know the risks.

Ridge: Anything I can say to make this easier? Is there anything I can do?

Taylor: Yes. Be happy. Just be happy and… and keep your eyes open. I told you how I felt before you went to rome. I shared with you all of my concerns about brooke and her manipulations, and I was right. So much for our pact.

Finn: Hope and thomas kissed?

Steffy: Yeah.

Finn: Liam was right all this time. Obviously, thomas’s obsession with hope got the better of…

Steffy: No, no, thomas wasn’t the one who initiated it.

Finn: Are you saying that–

Steffy: It was hope. Hope initiated the kiss. She wanted my brother.

Hope: You saw me? But you said you missed the event.

Liam: Yeah, I did.

Hope: Okay, so, how… when did you…

Liam: It’s funny ’cause I had all these, um… plans, you know. I wanted to– I wanted to maybe take you to the stella maris afterwards, just the two of us.

Hope: I would have loved that. I wish we had gone.

Liam: Do you?

Hope: Of course.

Taylor: Knowing brooke as–as well as I do, and despite our bestie pact, I’m–I’m not surprised that she wasn’t honest with me about what had been building between the two of you. Because, I mean, really, when has brooke ever volunteered honesty?

Ridge: Come on, taylor.

Ridge: I’m not defending anybody! Trying to help you understand.

Taylor: Okay, but it is not your job to help me understand. I understand who she is and how this is going to play out, and it is not my job to help you understand that. Come on, ridge. She has children with your father. She slept with your brother. Okay, I did, too. But what I didn’t do is get pregnant with my daughter’s husband and have a child with him. But you don’t have to worry about that now, because brooke’s older, so that’s not going to happen. But what you should worry about is who she is at her core. And that will never change.

Finn: Hope kissed thomas, not the other way around. You were right about her feelings for your brother.

Steffy: Yeah, of course I was right. I mean, I wanted to be wrong. I never thought… I never thought hope would do something like this.

Finn: It’S…it’S… I mean, it’s so unlike her.

Steffy: I just feel terrible for liam. I mean, his whole life has been turned upside down. I really hope, as hard as it might be, that he’s able to find forgiveness. And I’m really hoping that their marriage is able to survive after what hope did.

Hope: What do you want me to explain?

Liam: Told you, everything. I just… want to hear about your trip. Want to know what you did. What’d you do? What’d you do?

Hope: Okay, well, uh, like–like I said, the preview and the press event were a hit.

Liam: You and thomas were a hit. Okay. Got it.

Hope: Yes, I would say our hard work paid off.

Liam: Clearly. And then what, after?

Hope: After what? After the event, hope. What’d you do? Where’d you go? Did you go back to the hotel?

Hope: No.

Liam: Stick around the piazza? Sign some autographs? Take some pictures with fans? No, I know, you were so busy you never got a chance to go sightseeing. Did you go sightseeing?

Brooke: Taylor made it very clear to ridge just how much she loves him when she broke our pact and was trying to get him back. I don’t think she’ll ever get over your father.

Rj: Mom, if that’s true, then what dad’s telling her right now? I mean, taylor’s a strong person, but she’s going to be heartbroken at the prospect of losing dad forever.

Taylor: Okay. I’m going to say– I’m going to say one more thing, and then I’m not going to bring this up ever again. Brooke is going to betray you. And then she’ll admit it after she gets caught, and then she’ll say she never meant to hurt you, and she’ll somehow make herself the victim, and then you’ll forgive her. Okay, I’m done. Oh, god, rich. I just don’t understand how you can just continue to get yourself in this pain and disappointment over and over again! That is what is so heartbreaking about this. Because I love you. Finn: Also, it’s true– hope has feelings for your brother.

Steffy: She wouldn’t have kissed him that way if she didn’T.

Finn: I guess the question now is, after… everything that’s happened, what’s liam going to do?

Steffy: I am so sorry. You do not deserve this. You do not, okay?

Liam: So… after the press conference, you walked around rome. By yourself?

Hope: No.

Liam: No? So someone was with you?

Hope: Yes.

Liam: Your mom? Was it your mom? Was it–who was it? Was it carter?

Hope: No. Um, I don’T… so you came to rome, and then you turned back around and I just don’t understand.

Liam: Yeah, I don’t– I don’t understand why you’re not just answering my question. After the preview, you did some sightseeing. Who did you do the sightseeing with?

Hope: I don’t want to talk about rome anymore because I’m home now, and this is where my focus is with you and our family.

Liam: Man, you know, I really wish I could focus on this. I really do. But it’s hard when you’re not answering me. After the event, you walked around, you saw some places. There’s so many great places to see, hope. Trevi fountain? Did you go to trevi fountain? How about the pantheon? Did you go–no. I know where you went. I know where you went. Hope: Liam, is… is everything okay? I just… you just seem like, um… is there something wrong?

[ Steffy sighs ]

Eric: The reviews for the preview were fantastic.

Brooke: The whole event was inspired.

Brooke: Wow. Thank you. I mean, it was fun to model again, especially because I was wearing one of my daughter’s designs. That made it even more special.

R.J.: Yeah. Hope and thomas must be stoked.

Eric: I’m sure. It’s really wonderful when all that hard work and dedication pays off.

Brooke: And perseverance and commitment and faith.

Donna: Uh-huh. Why do I get the feeling we’re not talking about hope for the future anymore?

Taylor: Wow. Well– well, this is a– a nice surprise. How was your trip?

Ridge: It was amazing. Not what I expected.

Taylor: Yeah? I– I bet it was hard to pull yourself away.

Ridge: It’s good to be back.

Taylor: I heard our son was a huge hit.

Ridge: Yes, he was. Uh, lots of orders. He was great.

Taylor: Yeah. That’s good stuff. Thomas deserves a win.

Ridge: And he got one.

Ridge: And I cherish our family. Always will. You know that.

Taylor: Yes. What is it, ridge?

Ridge: Something else happened in rome. Something you need to know about.

Eric: I think maybe you’re right, donna. The twinkle in your sister’s eye may be a dead giveaway.

Donna: Yeah. I– I– I think there’s more to this story than you’re telling us.

R.J.: You know, I– I think there’s only one person that can put a smile as big on my mom’s face, and I’m pretty sure it’s my dad.

Eric: So, what about that? Is R.J. Onto something here?

Donna: Rome worked its magic on you and ridge, didn’t it?

[ Brooke giggles ] Did it?

Brooke: Yes!

R.J.: It did?

Brooke: Ridge and i are back together.

R.J.: No way!

Brooke: Yes!

R.J.: What! Hey!

Donna: Oh, my god!

Brooke: My god.

Taylor: So, what are you saying, ridge?

Ridge: I’m saying the hope for the future preview is not the only thing that happened in italy.

Taylor: Right, no, I know– I know what you’re gonna say. You lost your passport. Or you’re back with brooke.

Steffy: It was incredible. We got everything we wanted for hope for the future, but nothing compares to this. Being home with you, wrapped up in your arms.

Finn: Yeah. All I could think about last night was you coming home today.

[ Steffy chuckling ] It made me so happy, I started– started hearing things.

Steffy: What things?

Finn: You don’t– you don’t hear that? Kinda sounds like, um… monaco.

[ Steffy gasps ]

[ Bells ringing ]

[ Both laughing ]

Steffy: You’re the sweetest. I love you so much.

Steffy: Oh, gosh. I don’t think you’re ready for this.

Finn: Something’s– something’s bothering you. What’s– what is it?

Steffy: Uh, yeah. Um… it has to do with hope and liam.

Hope: Is everything okay? You seem… I don’t know. Uh, did something happen when I was away, or– or the kids?

Liam: It’s not the kids. The kids are fine. Nothing out of the ordinary happened here. You’re the one who went on a big adventure. So, I’m just… I’m just saying, tell me about it. That’s all. Tell me everything you did in rome.

Eric: Wow. Talk about a sign. Ridge must have been floored.

Donna: Seriously?

Brooke: Yeah. I– and I had no idea what was going on. I heard him yelling for me, and I turn around and there he is running at me. And he seemed very excited. He– he was just beaming. He had this big goofy smile on his face and– and he told me that he believes again.

Ridge: Will you be…

Brooke: [ Laughs ] Yes.

Oh, my god. Yes!

I’m having a hard time believing that this is really happening, but it is. Ridge and I reunited at last.

[ Laughs ]

Ridge: I– I had no idea we were gonna reconnect. That was… it was all about the preview. But I saw my future in rome.

Taylor: With brooke.

Ridge: I have to give this one more chance. I have to.

Steffy: You know what? Hope and liam can wait. I just wanna be with my sexy husband.

Finn: I’m not gonna fight you on that. Mm, man, I missed you. I’m glad you’re home.

Steffy: Yeah. So, the event went well? There’s no issues? There’s that look again. You mentioned hope and liam. Look, I know liam went to rome.

Steffy: You do?

Finn: Yeah, R.J. And i convinced him. Liam wanted to surprise hope.

Steffy: Yeah, liam’s the one who ended up being surprised.

Liam: I wanna hear about it. I wanna hear about rome. So, tell me. Tell me… everything.

Hope: Okay. Uh, well…

[ Clears throat ] …The, uh, press event and the preview were– were amazing. They– everyone loved, and I mean loved, the designs, so…

Liam: Cool. S– sounds like… thomas came through for you in a big way. You still riding that high? The virus that causes shingles is sleeping…

Donna: I am so happy for you and ridge.

Eric: If two people were ever meant to be together, aside from donna and me, of course–

Donna: Of course.

Eric: — It’s you and ridge.

R.J.: Uh, you know me, I don’t like inserting myself into my parents’ love lives, but I– I am very happy for you, mom.

Brooke: Aw, thanks, honey. Oh.

R.J.: I am, uh–

Brooke: So sweet.

R.J.: I am a little worried about how the news is gonna affect steffy and thomas. I don’t think they’re gonna take it well at all. Kinda leaves their mom on the outside looking in. Right?

Taylor: Okay. So– so, one more last chance with brooke.

Ridge: It– it may seem like we’ve been here before, but this is different.

Taylor: Yeah? Uh… how?

Ridge: I don’t know. I– I’m– I’m older and– and we’re wiser and…

[ Taylor chuckles softly ] Nothing’s ever gonna come between us ever again.

Taylor: Okay. Don’t jinx yourself with “ever again,” because that’s the perfect way to make sure that it happens again. And it’s coming. Getting back with brooke means setting yourself up for more heartache.

Finn: I don’t understand. So, did liam not get to the preview on time?

Steffy: No, he just missed it.

Finn: Oh, that’s a bummer. He must have been disappointed to miss her big moment.

Steffy: Oh, he was more than disappointed. I– I told him that hope went out to go sightseeing after the preview, and he took off. He went towards the colosseum. And, uh–

Finn: Well, that makes sense. I mean, that’s like the number one sight to see when you’re in rome. So, hope must have been blown away when she saw liam.

Steffy: She didn’t see liam.

Finn: How come?

Steffy: He came home. He came back to la.

Finn: Wait, well, th– that doesn’t make any sense. Why would liam do that?

Liam: Well, it sounds like you got… everything you wanted from this trip.

Hope: I know. Hubris. Right?

[ Chuckles ] But, um… it really was a success. I mean, like I said, the press, they were enthusiastic and supportive and they really did welcome us like family. And those dresses, I mean, they were– they were breathtaking and…

Liam: Breathtaking, huh?

Hope: They were. And to be able to wear those with rome as the backdrop, I just… I just wish that you could have been there to see it. Um, the piazza where we held the event–

Liam: Yeah. No. It sounds like a really incredible moment for you and thomas.

Hope: Yeah. It– it was.

Liam: Almost… I don’t know, uh… romantic. For copd, ask your doctor about breztri.

Brooke: Actually, I was pleasantly surprised. Thomas and steffy took the news quite well.

Donna: Really?

Brooke: Mm-hmm. They just want their dad to be happy. And if that’s with me, then they’ll respect it.

R.J.: Well, I mean, that’s a nice thing to say, but they must be disappointed for their mom on some level, right?

Eric: I do have to wonder how taylor’s gonna take this news.

Brooke: Yeah. I wonder, too. Ridge is telling her right now.

Ridge: You have every right to be cynical about brooke. I mean, you– you’ve been on this ride for a very long time.

Taylor: Ah, the old marriage go-round. Yeah. Not the happiest ride. But my happiness isn’t dependent on any man. Not even you, ridge forrester.

Ridge: I know that.

Taylor: I know you know. And I do love you. Always and forever and… and I miss you. But I’ll be okay. You don’t think that you’re setting yourself up to get hurt again?

Ridge: No, I– no. Not this time. I– I saw my future very clearly.

Finn: Okay. Let me get this straight. Liam flew all the way to rome to surprise hope, saw her, didn’t speak to her, but then just turned around and flew home?

Steffy: Yeah.

Finn: And this mood that you’re in, this weight that I’m feeling from you has something to do with liam and hope. And I know lately you have been suspicious of something developing between hope and thomas. Are you telling me that… were you right? Something happened between your brother and liam’s wife over there?

Steffy: Yeah. And liam saw it with his own eyes.

[ Finn sighs ]

Liam: All those long nights… working with thomas… they finally… paid off. And that must feel… really good.

Hope: It does.

Liam: And to have that success play out in rome, it’s– like I said, it’S… romantic.

Hope: Well, it would’ve been romantic if you had been there, but you weren’t–

Liam: Yeah, well, you didn’t invite me until the last minute, which I completely understand, because it was a business trip. Strictly business. Right?

Hope: Yeah, but I’m home now… with you, with the kids, which is where I want to be, my most favorite place in the world. And I– I missed you. I missed all of you.

Liam: You did?

Hope: Of course. Liam, what’s really going on? Because I… is that– is that your luggage?

Wyatt: Okay. But how– how did you know where to go? I mean, rome is such a huge city. Like–

Liam: Believe me, I know. At first, I was just wandering around, but then I remembered, um, the colosseum. She– she had been talking about how much she wanted to see the colosseum and I figured that’s where she would be.

Wyatt: And was she?

Liam: Yeah. She wasn’t alone. I mean, at first, I couldn’t see who it was. Thomas.

Wyatt: Yeah, of course. I mean, he’s been obsessing and wanting your wife for years.

Liam: But I was wrong. I didn’t see it.

Wyatt: What? You didn’t see what?

Liam: Everything. Everything that steffy was telling me, the warnings. She– she was trying to get me to listen and I didn’t wanna hear it. I didn’t wanna believe that it wasn’t– thomas wasn’t the one to worry about. It was– it was hope.

Wyatt: What? No! No. Dude–

Liam: Wyatt, I saw this with my own eyes. Hope grabbed him and she kissed him. And if anything, he was the one taken off guard. But she– she– she initiated it. She kissed him. She kissed him. She wanted him. She chose him.

Hope: Look, steffy, I can understand if maybe you’re a little upset about your dad and my mom getting back together, but, you know, if it’s true love and a real commitment–

Hope: Steffy, this has been a really great trip and I would hate to sour that. I mean, the preview was a success. The press loved the designs. Our parents are happy. I mean, this– this should be a win.

Steffy: Yes. Especially for you and thomas. But you’re right. The preview was a hit. You must feel like you’re on some kind of a high right now. Rome was a magical place. Something you’ll never forget.

Thomas: That’s good. I, um, I know why you’re upset, stef.

Steffy: Do you?

Thomas: Yeah. Dad and brooke being back together. We were there with mom when she told us she wanted a life with dad. She’s gonna be devastated, but it– it’ll be okay. I mean, if dad and brooke wanna be together, so be it. Mom will find her happiness. I know it.

Steffy: I just, uh, I guess I wasn’t prepared for being so surprised in rome. Definitely a kiss of fate.

Carter: Wouldn’t be a forrester event without some drama.

Hope: What are you talking about?

[ Carter chuckling ]

Carter: Ridge and brooke holding up this flight. But it’s all good. And you know what? I am relieved. Everything went great.

Hope: Well, you know, carter, you were a very big part of that success.

Sofia: Thomas, you and hope are an extraordinary team. What’s the key to your success?

Thomas: Well, you said it yourself. Teamwork. We can truly trust and rely on each other.

Hope: And who wouldn’t trust this man’s talent?

[ Crowd laughing, applauding ]

Thomas: Well, a team needs a strong leader. They need a driving force. And I am just grateful that hope shared her vision with me.

[ Crowd applauding ]

Bill: Just spoke to the pilot.

Liam: The– are we– are we landing soon or?

Bill: Won’t long until you can say, “benvenuti a roma.”

Liam: Nice. Okay. So, uh, once I get cell service, I have to call the driver and then–

Bill: No, no, no. The driver will be waiting on the tarmac and will take you straight to piazza navona.

Liam: Right. Yeah.

Bill: If you’re lucky, you’ll be there for the last few designs and to see your wife’s big press conference.

Liam: You know, I can’t thank you enough for this. I mean, I– I never would’ve made it without your help.

Bill: You just make sure that hope knows why you’re there.

Liam: ‘Cause my dad’s the best?

Bill: Yes. More importantly, because you are the best. A wonderfully devoted husband. In fact, the best husband she could ask for.

Liam: Yeah. Well, unfortunately, hope hasn’t seen much of that guy lately. I’ve been so focused on thomas and what he might be up to. I just– I haven’t given hope the credit she deserves.

Bill: Well, you’ll have plenty of time to do that. And don’t waste any of it griping about thomas.

Liam: Right. Yeah, exactly. That’s right. I’m– I’m here to be a supportive husband and to– and, you know, to make up for being a shortsighted fool.

Bill: There is nothing foolish about looking out for your family, liam.

Liam: This is not about thomas, right. This is about hope. This is her moment and I wanna be there to celebrate that. And I have to stop doing things that are gonna push her away.

Bill: Hope knows how much you love her and there’s no questioning her love and her commitment to you.

Reporter 1: And you must be very proud of your daughter.

Brooke: Oh, yes. Very proud. And hope’s whole family is very proud too. They’re at home cheering her on. Liam’s there with their children.

Ridge: Yes. And we’re very impressed with the two of ’em. And what– what they came up with here is amazing and it’s only the tip of the iceberg.

Sofia: Seeing you and brooke together is exciting too. Especially here in rome.

Brooke: Oh.

Ridge: We’re just here supporting our kids and hope for the future.

Reporter 2: You and brooke haven’t reunited, but you’re here, uh, together?

Brooke: There’s nowhere I’d rather be.

Sofia: Is this a hint of things to come?

Reporter 1: What are plans for the future?

Ridge: Uh, our plans for the future to explore this beautiful city. But I gotta say something before any other. These two people right here, my beautiful daughter and my best friend, carter, they– none of this would’ve happened if they weren’t here. So please give them a hand.

[ Crowd applauding ] And as far as the future goes, I may have lost a step, lost some passion and some drive, but, um, the company is in good hands. Not just their hands, but the hands of my very talented son, thomas.

Thomas: I can’t take all the credit. This collection is a collaboration. And I was just inspired by hope and her vision and the, uh, the designs just poured right outta me.

Ridge: Proud of you, son. Nice job.

[ Crowd applauding ]

Hope: Grazie a tutti. Thank you everyone for being here and for showing this collection so much amore and appreciation. So, grazie. Thank you.

[ Indistinct chatter ]

Ridge: Rome loves you.

Brooke: Oh, the feeling is mutual.

Ridge: Maybe, but there’s something about this town makes you even more radiant.

Brooke: Rome makes you very sentimental, but I don’t like hearing that your passion and your drive might be going away.

Ridge: Ah, don’t worry about that. Maybe I’m just tired, you know. Too many marriages and breakups. I don’t know. Here’s what I do know. We gotta stop hurting each other.

Brooke: I agree. But we have to have faith. We can’t let the fire go out. If you’re still having bladder leaks,

Bill: All right. Giuseppe and the car are waiting for you in the tarmac as promised.

[ Phone beeping ]

Liam: Yeah? And I have cell service again. Look at that.

Bill: Don’t you dare call hope and ruin the surprise.

Bill: Congratulate her for me.

Liam: Hey, you know, hope and I didn’t have the best goodbye when she left L.A. It’s been a little rocky, but I think today, this is gonna change all that. When we see each other for the first time, it’s gonna be a moment we never forget.

Bill: Go to your wife.

Liam: I’m going.

Steffy: Hope, you did it!

Hope: Well, we– we did it. We all did it.

Steffy: No, you and thomas, you own the spotlight. And, you know, I’ve been watching.

Hope: Oh, yeah, I know.

Steffy: Okay. I understand that can be frustrating, but as co-ceo, I couldn’t be more proud for what you accomplished. We couldn’t have done this without your talent and your vision.

Hope: Thank you, steffy. That– that actually means a lot. And I– I hate that our mothers aren’t getting along anymore, but I thought we worked together really well today and I don’t know, maybe we could do a better job at being friends.

Steffy: I’d like that. Look, I– I know I’ve been asking you a lot of questions lately. Questions about your feelings and your commitment to liam and I want you to know that I am not gonna do that anymore.

[ Hope chuckling ] You said that you have everything under control and today, you proved it. Oh, pascal. Excuse me.

Hope: Yeah.

Steffy: Hi.

Thomas: Wow. You look how I feel.

Hope: Hm. I– I think this might easily be one of the greatest days of my life.

[ Thomas laughing ]

Thomas: Mine too. What is it?

Hope: Uh, I texted liam earlier before the preview and I still haven’t heard back from him and it’s really unlike him and that’s just the one kind of–

Thomas: Okay. Take your phone, keep it– put away. Right? ‘Cause we’re not gonna worry about that right now. This is one of the lines most major successes and we are going to celebrate it. We are in rome. Everything is a feast for the eyes. What do you wanna do? The sky’s the limit.

Hope: Um… let’s go for a walk. I– I haven’t been here in years and we’ve been working so hard. We’ve been so busy. So, let’s go out and see the city before we have to go back to our normal everyday lives.

Thomas: Okay. Let’s do it. Where?

Hope: Well, you can’t leave rome without seeing the colosseum.

Thomas: You got it. Let’s do it.

Hope: Done.

Hope: Thank you.

Carter: Great day today, huh?

Brooke: Uh, yeah.

Carter: You okay?

Brooke: I’m just worried about ridge. And I know he’s a good friend of yours, so.

Brooke: Yeah. We’re no longer friends.

Liam: Yeah, I know. I just, I– I don’t know. I realized I needed to be here. I– I took the spencer jet. I was gonna surprise hope. But am I– like, am I too late? Is– is the press conference and the– and the photo shoot over?

Steffy: You just missed it.

Liam: Damn it!

Steffy: But it– it was amazing. You would’ve been really proud of hope. Since you’re here, I– actually, I wanna say, um, I’m sorry. I– I– I was wrong. Really wrong to question hope. She loves you and she realizes that you’re an extraordinary man.

Thomas: Well, hope, we made it. The colosseum. You know, gladiators used to fight behind those walls? I mean, it’s been here for a couple thousand years. It’s crazy to think about how long it’s been here.

Hope: And the world changed around it.

Thomas: From chariots to electric cars.

Hope: To planes flying overhead.

Thomas: That’s right. But it’s still standing.

Ridge: Straight to voicemail. I don’t think brooke is coming.

Carter: Of course, she is. Oh, wow. Ridge, this is incredible, man. Take a look.

Ridge: It’s a door with a hole in it. I’m good.

Brooke: Excuse me. Aventino hill. Oh, grazie.

Finn: Thanks again for helping me get the kids out the door this morning. You’re a lifesaver.

Taylor: No, of course, I heard the panic in your voice when you had to get to the hospital. But you know what, kelly is asleep and hayes might still have some syrup all over him.

Finn: Is that what I felt on the floor? Yeah, it’s okay. You– you, I owe you big time. I mean, I’m glad steffy didn’t try video-chatting me during all that. I don’t think I ever would have heard the end of it.

Taylor: Oh, it’s okay. Your secret’s safe with me.

Finn: Um, but I did speak to her earlier and it sounds like the press conference was a hit. The– the photo shoot, the preview, everything exceeded expectations.

Finn: Uh, about brooke and Ridge you mean?

Taylor: Yeah.

Finn: No, we, um, we don’t really talk about her, but have you spoken to Ridge at all since he’s been over there with brooke?

Taylor: You know, I will talk to Ridge about everything when he gets back. I’m– I’m not gonna worry about it right now. Everybody’s so busy over there, you know.

Finn: Yeah, and I– I’m assuming you haven’t spoken to brooke since your relationship took a little bit of a turn?

Taylor: Yeah, a hard left into the abyss. And as usual, she is– she is not being accountable for her part of all of this. She is the victim, that’s her take on it.

Finn: And now she’s in Rome with Ridge and you’re stuck here cleaning up syrup. But, um, seriously, uh, how you doing?

Taylor: Thanks for asking. You know, I’m usually the one that asks people how they’re feeling.

Finn: Okay. Well, I might not have your credentials, but I’ve been told I’m a pretty good listener. So, do you want to take a breath and open up?

Taylor: To be honest, I am, I’m– I’m disappointed in myself and– and in brooke. It– it was nice being friends or so I thought. What was nice about it is– is just having someone that– that really understood what I went through with the back and forth with Ridge. And, and vice versa, you know, but… things change.

Finn: I mean, you can’t love the idea that she’s in Rome with him.

Taylor: No, I really don’T. But, I am doing better than I think I am. I’m not gonna go down that rabbit hole of insecurity. It’s not worth it.

Finn: That’s good. Good for you. Oh, and uh, look at that. That’s our time for this session, so…

Steffy: Carter, hey. I thought you were off sightseeing with my dad.

Carter: Yeah, we just looked through the aventino keyhole.

Steffy: Oh, how fun, I’ve been meaning to do that. How was it?

Carter: Impressive. You know, it’s funny you– you stand in line and you’re thinking, “why am I waiting to look through a keyhole?” And then you do and it’s– it’s wow. I mean, the view.

Steffy: Yeah, life-changing.

Carter: Yeah, especially for your dad. I don’t know, but something has seriously gotten into him. He’s looking through the keyhole and then he just took off running.

Ridge: So this idea of coming to the city, any city, even here, and thinking that we’ll find a love and that– that… we will fall into each other’s arms, I just– I just don’t see it.

Brooke: I want to be able to believe that this could be a new beginning for you and me. This eternal city, it offers eternal love.

Ridge: If we have to try so hard to make something work, maybe it doesn’t exist anymore.

Taylor: Yeah. You know, I’m just, um, I can’t believe that liam didn’t go out there to be with Hope, you know. What?

Steffy: Hope was in thomas’s arms? Are you serious? God, I cannot believe him.

She kissed him. The one thing, the– the only thing that could tear my marriage apart was your brother and she knew that, but she kissed him anyway. And, um… I saw it with my own eyes.

Brooke: I– I’m sorry. I was lost.

Ridge: No, I was lost. But I looked through this keyhole and I saw everything– everything they said. I saw it.

Hope: I know. I’m just so happy that you’re here.

Brooke: This is your moment. You’ve been working so hard on hope for the future. Now, the world’s gonna be able to get a glimpse of your new collection.

Hope: Well, I am just excited to share the stage with you.

Brooke: Oh, gosh I– I almost fell over when ridge suggested I model one of your gowns.

Hope: I think it’s sweet. It’s just another reminder about how much he loves you. Yeah, I don’t know. I think, uh, maybe the romantic magic of rome is working on the two of you.

Brooke: Maybe.

Ridge: So, you’re okay with this?

Thomas: No. Yeah, of course. Including brooke is a great idea.

Ridge: Yes, it is. Two generations of logan women. You want that. And then the press can eat it up.

Thomas: Yes, you’re right. Brooke is a legend and I’m sure hope is gonna enjoy sharing the limelight with her mom.

Ridge: All right. What about you? It’s a big day for you. Nervous?

Steffy: Better not be. You and hope need to kill it today.

Thomas: Mm. You know what? I have all the confidence in the world in the message, in my designs and hope and i both understand how big of a day this is for hope for the future.

Carter: It’s gonna be huge. But I am surprised that liam isn’t here with his wife.

Liam: You know how like, unbelievably generous this is, right? Because every– every commercial flight I looked at was booked. I mean, I never would have made it to the event.

Bill: I told you I was going to europe anyway to do some business on the stella maris. I’ll drop my son in rome. No big deal.

Liam: What would I do without my daddy? Huh?

Liam: I– I totally agree. I think that’s great. In fact, I think hope would love knowing it’s– it’s just the two of us, like a little getaway together.

Paris: Ooh, everything’s running smoothly?

Eric: Yeah, they’re about to start.

Zende: All right, so then they’ll be starting right on time.

Eric: Well, carter runs a tight ship, you know that.

Eric: Che magnifica!

Paris: It is stunning.

Rj: That’s a sick place. I’m not gonna lie. You guys got the hook-up in rome, I see.

Eric: Well, we’ve always had a really good relationship with our italian partners.

Zende: And press is coming from all across the globe to cover this event.

Eric: You and thomas really hit it out of the park.

Zende: Thanks, granddad.

Eric: And paris, thank you. You’ve really elevated the philanthropic division. You’ve really done a great job.

Paris: Thank you, eric. It’s honestly been such a rewarding experience. And I’m just glad I got to help hope with her speech before she left. It’s through her leadership that we can bring about real, positive social change and touch so many lives.

Hope: Thank you. And I still haven’t heard from liam, and that is very unlike him. So, I’m going to try texting one more time, letting him know how much I love and miss him and wish that he was here.

Thomas: Okay, we are almost ready to start. How’s it going?

Hope: It’s good, it’s just you know, nerves and adrenaline flowing.

Thomas: Of course, of course, yeah. It’s exhilarating though, right? I mean, being here at the piazza navona, bringing your new line to life.

Hope: Feels like a dream come true.

Thomas: It should feel like a dream come true. It’s amazing. It’s incredible. And you are going to be sensational. And I got to say, your line is incredible and I am just so proud to be here for you and to be a part of this line, bringing it to life. So just go out there and– and shine. Paris: Ooh, maybe I need to ease up on the coffee a little bit. I’m just really nervous. And I just hope everything goes well in rome.

Eric: I’m sure it will. Come on. Carter’s got an excellent crew going. Everything’s in place.

Zende: Brooke will be joining hope on stage wearing one of the looks.

Paris: Oh, that’s brilliant. The press will totally eat that up. Brooke is a massive celebrity in the fashion world.

Eric: Let me guess, ridge’s idea?

Zende: Yep.

Eric: Of course, I would say that rome is having a big impact on your parents.

Bill: You getting hungry?

Liam: Honestly, I think I’m just too excited to eat.

Bill: Save room for that pasta. Nothing like a true italian meal.

Liam: Yeah, what am I doing? I know there’s no service, I gotta stop.

Bill: Yeah, I know. It’s really inconvenient. The good news is, wyatt can’t text you busting your chops about anything.

Liam: Ooh, that’s– that’s a great point. Honestly, I’m just grateful for the ride. Hopefully I– I make it in time for the photo shoot.

Bill: Well, you’re doing your best to be there, you’re making a tremendous effort. That’s a gift in and of itself.

Bill: We should be landing soon.

Bill: You have, but I can’t hear that too many times. I’m just glad I’m here to help.

Liam: If only if I– if I hadn’t been so foolish, you know, putting hope in between me and thomas. Like why? That’s such a waste. Like I– I believe in my wife. I have faith in her. She’s strong and capable and she can handle herself. She just– what she needs is my support, right? She needs to know that I love her and I’m there for her. And if I– if I could just– if I do that, I really think this could be a new beginning for us.

Carter: Ladies and gentlemen, the heart and soul of hope for the future, miss hope logan.

Hope: Grazie. Grazie. Um, thank you all so much for joining us here today. It is an honor to be here in beautiful roma, the city of eternal love. A city which holds a very special place in my heart. Your country has always welcomed forrester creations as if we were family, and we are very proud of this new collection. As we all know, fashion can be anything, from fun to glamorous to even pushing boundaries once in a while, but… it is a way for us to express ourselves and our identities, and here at hope for the future, we like to think that we stand for something more than just beautiful clothes. For us, it’s about creating fashion with a social conscience because it’s our responsibility to be mindful of what kind of world we want to leave our children and our grandchildren. Because it’s our responsibility to nurture and to protect our world for future generations.

[ Crowd applauding ] Thank you, but I– I couldn’t do any of this alone. I am surrounded by some of the most hardworking, dedicated team. They’ve stuck by my side, but none of which have been more important to our success than our brilliant and talented, lead designer, thomas forrester. Thomas, would you join me, please?

Brooke: The colosseum has withstood the test of time. It has. It’s endured so much, just like you and me. Please tell me you believe in us.

Ridge: I want to.

Liam: Yeah. Okay, so obviously a direct flight is not gonna work. What do you– what do you have in terms of connections? Do you have anything? You do? That– okay, that’s fantastic. So, now what– what time would that put me in rome? No, no, no, no, that’s– that’s way too long. I can’t wait that long. I– I know that you’re trying, I’m not saying you’re not trying. I– I’ll call back. You know that when I text you, you don’t have to drive all the way over here, right?

Bill: You reschedule a meeting, you tell me you’re flying to rome and not to tell anyone. You think I’m not gonna check in on my son? What the hell’s going on?

Liam: I’m– I was trying to fly to italy to be with my wife.

Hope: What do you think?

Thomas: It’s like your fourth or fifth draft, right?

Hope: Yep. I’ve been working on it on and off for a few weeks now.

Thomas: I wouldn’t change a word.

Hope: Really?

Thomas: Yeah. Really. I mean, the way that you talk about your line and what you wanna do, how you wanna help people, you wanna help the environment and young women through fashion. Just the inspiration that it shows and– and that– the spirit that you have that comes through in every single word, it– any person who hears this tomorrow is gonna love you even more than they already do.

Hope: I needed to hear that.

Thomas: They’re gonna love you.

Hope: No, they’re going to love us because this was a team effort and sure, I might have had the vision, but you– you were the one who brought it to life with your creativity and your imagination. I mean, thomas, sometimes I don’t think you even realize how talented you are.

Thomas: Thank you.

Hope: Like I said, I mean, we’re hope for the future now and there can’t be one without the other and I am just so, so grateful to be here in this magical city with you.

Bill: You’re going to see hope?

Liam: That was the plan. Yeah, I mean, I already spoke to eric and donna. They agreed to watch the kids. I– I was trying to make it to– to the press event, but I can’t– I can’t find a flight that gets out of here soon enough.

Bill: I’m confused. Wyatt said you were staying with us.

Liam: No, I said, yeah, he did– I said– I did tell him that, but then I– I changed my mind last minute.

Bill: Why? What happened?

Liam: I just– I just realized I wanted to be over there with my wife. Why? Is that weird?

Bill: Well, no, of course, it’s not weird. I know how proud you are of hope and what a big deal rome is to her and her line.

Liam: Yes, it is. It’s a big, it’s a huge deal and I wanna be there to share that moment with her. I was just– no matter how much I want it to happen, I don’t– I don’t think it’s going to.

Bill: You think you might be forgetting something.

Liam: What?

Bill: My jet.

[ Bill chuckling ]

Hope: What are you doing?

Thomas: You know, there’s nothing like being in rome to make you inspired. You walk down the streets and you get, like, the amazing food, the– the– the awesome people, the architecture, the history, the art, it’s just so much to bring it out of me. What?

Hope: Nothing. I just, I– I like seeing you like this. I mean, you’re never more alive than when you’re sketching. Oh, or when you’re teaching douglas something new.

Thomas: Ah, or him teaching me because we have an incredibly smart kid on our hands.

Hope: Mm, that is very true. Incredibly smart and incredibly kind.

Thomas: Yes. Yes, he is. Um, you know, I– I think– I think I wanna do something special with him. You know, I– I– I– I wanna, like, take him somewhere, just the two of us. Maybe we can go camping or something. Make up for some of the time we’ve lost.

Hope: I know he would love that, but he also understands how important this is for both of us and I don’t think he holds it against us.

Steffy: Who’s holding what against who?

Thomas: We were actually wondering what happened to you two.

Carter: It’s insane. Everyone wants a sneak peek at the collection. Not that we give it to them, but.

Steffy: They wanna see it and they’re willing to do anything for it.

Carter: So you guys ready to check out the location for tomorrow? Make sure it’s everything you have in mind?

Hope: Well, I am sure it’s perfect because how could it not be? We’re here in rome and I can’t imagine a better backdrop for our collection than this.

Brooke: Well, just trust me. Let me lead the way.

Ridge: You’re gonna lead the way?

Brooke: Mm-hmm.

Ridge: You’re gonna get us lost.

Brooke: Well, that’s true, but not when it comes to you and me. Come on, let’s go.

Carter: Okay, so I’ve coordinated with the photographer and the digital team, hair and makeup as well. They’re all set.

Steffy: Carter and I have been schmoozing with the press.

Carter: It’s no secret there’s a crazy buzz about the showcase tomorrow.

Steffy: How’s your speech coming along? Is it wrapped up?

Hope: Uh, mostly.

Steffy: Oh, I thought you would have nailed it by now.

Thomas: Well, you know hope. She, uh, she wants to make sure every word counts. It’s an opportunity to really reach a lot of people and so she’s choosing every word carefully.

Carter: Mm. Sounds like someone’s gotten a sneak peek.

Hope: Well, I wanted thomas’s feedback. You know, if anyone understands hope for the future and in particular, this collection, it– it would be my lead designer.

Thomas: Well, thank you, but I could never put it in the words that you have. You have this eloquence and passion. It’s incredible and everyone’s gonna love it.

Steffy: You two just love singing each other’s praises.

Thomas: Well, we’re a team, right? So we respect each other’s contributions. Do you have a problem with that?

Steffy: No, no, just an observation.

Hope: Well, one thing I do know for certain is that we wouldn’t be here right now if it wasn’t for thomas. I mean, we all know hope for the future was struggling. Steffy was about to pull the plug and–

Steffy: I– I didn’t want to do that, hope.

Hope: Well, I know, obviously. You would have if you wanted to, but you didn’t because you knew that your brother could turn it around. And you were right. I mean, I mean, thomas, you jumped back in and you practically turned things around overnight.

Carter: And here we are. A day away from showcasing some of your most beautiful, elegant designs to the world in the most beautiful, elegant city in the world. Doesn’t get better than that, right?

Thomas: Tomorrow is gonna be amazing, but not just because of my designs. Also because of hope’s speech. It’s gonna be amazing and you’re gonna kill it. I have no doubt.

Liam: Hope and thomas in rome together, it’s just not an imagery that inspires a ton of confidence in me. That’s all. Whatever, it doesn’t– I know I sound paranoid.

Bill: No, son. You are looking out for the woman you love and I would do the exact same thing.

Liam: Yes. Yes. I do love her. I love her so much, which is why it is so frustrating that she lets her guard down when it comes to thomas. And she– you know, she doesn’t see it that way. She– she says that she would be the first one to read the signs if he started to relapse and she would, you know, take the appropriate steps or whatever.

Bill: Right, cut him loose if he crossed any lines.

Liam: Yeah, but, like, that’s not how it works. I mean, they are so entwined at the office, you know? Like, as hope puts it, we are hope for the future, which I’m sure thomas loves hearing. And plus they co-parent douglas, which means–

Bill: They’re connected on many different levels.

Liam: Yes. And it would be so easy for him to misread that. You know, to start reading into things, to– to let his obsession fester again and I just– I– this is why me being in rome with hope, it just, it might be a nice little reminder to thomas, like, don’t– don’t go there.

Bill: Then you should definitely go.

Liam: Yeah, I should, I should definitely go. But, dad, see everything I just said, that’s not even the reason I should go. The real reason I should go is because I just want to be there with my wife. I wanna support hope.

Bill: It’s understandable.

Liam: Also, I think maybe after the event, hope and i could spend some much needed private time together. Connect a little bit, recharge. I think we need that so badly at this point.

Bill: Say no more. It’s done.

Liam: What’s– what’s done?

Bill: I’m headed to europe anyway. Jet’s ready to go. You and I are going to rome.

Brooke: Now, this is statue garibaldine. You like?

Ridge: I like.

Brooke: Okay, what is that twinkle in your eye?

Ridge: I had an idea. I think it’s a really good idea.

Brooke: Uh-oh. I’m afraid to ask.

Ridge: How about this? How about you wear one of hope’s gowns tomorrow at the preview?

Brooke: That is my daughter’s line.

Ridge: I know, but think of this: Mother and daughter are together, the press would eat this up. I mean, look at you. You’re as beautiful as the city. You’ve been the face of forrester for so long. What do you say? I need you. (Man) what if my type 2 diabetes takes over?

Bill: Hey, sarah. Uh, listen, we got a slight, uh, change in the flight plan. Still going to stella maris, but we’re gonna drop my son, liam, off in rome first. Yeah. Okay, thanks. All right, done.

Liam: Father of the year right here. Oh, my god. Oh, my god. Thank you.

Bill: Happy to do it, son. All right, let’s go. Let’s get you to the jet and off to rome to see hope.

Liam: Yeah!

Carter: There it is, where we are holding the preview. Piazza navona, home of the magnificent statue of the four rivers created by gian lorenzo bernini, one of the greatest baroque artists of his time.

Steffy: Wow. I’m impressed.

Carter: So what do you think, hope? Will this work for showcasing your line?

Hope: Yes, I– I do think that this is going to work. Absolutely. I mean, how did– how did you get this to happen?

Thomas: Yeah, and did you just memorize the whole brochure before or what happened there?

Hope: You know, I actually did read that piazza navona was created as a race track by a roman emperor.

Carter: Well, that fits because I’ll be racing around from now until the showing, so that works.

Steffy: Carter, what you pulled off is nothing short of miraculous. Locking this place, the contracts you got signed and notarized. I’m confident tomorrow is going to be a huge success.

Thomas: Yeah, well, how could it not be? With all of us and with hope, front and center.

Ridge: So you’re sure you know where you’re going?

Brooke: Uh, yes. Uh, no. But since I’m a history buff–

Ridge: A history buff? Since when?

Brooke: Since today.

Ridge: Okay.

Brooke: This is…

Ridge: A cannon.

[ Brooke laughing ]

Brooke: It’s more than just a cannon. This is il cannone del giancolo, a very important cannon. It goes up at the same time every single day since 1842, but not during the second world war.

Ridge: No, huh? You are a history buff and a tour guide. This is amazing. What else? What else you got?

Brooke: Okay, you’re making fun of me.

Ridge: Yeah. No. Can’t make fun of somebody like you, who’s gonna be in the preview tomorrow.

Brooke: Since you’re making me do that, I’m gonna make you do something. You’re gonna put on a roman suit of armor and you’re gonna model with me.

Ridge: Yeah, I know.

Brooke: Oh, wait, better yet. You’re gonna wear a roman toga and you’re just gonna totally titillate the ladies.

Ridge: Yeah? No one needs to see that.

Brooke: I wanna see that.

Ridge: Where are we going?

Brooke: Uh, well, I know my nav was saying we’re nearly there.

Ridge: Nearly where?

Brooke: Nearly where I was taking you. Mm-hmm.

Ridge: You’re lost, aren’t you?

Brooke: Maybe. But there is one destination that I’m sure of. It’s you and me and our future together.

Sarah: Filed the new flight plan as you requested. Rome, then onto stella maris.

Bill: Thanks, sarah.

Liam: And like when are we taking off?

Sarah: Just doing final checks and waiting for clearance from atc.

Bill: Perfect. All right, relax, will you? We’re gonna have you there on time.

Liam: You’re a lifesaver. You know that right?

Bill: I need to know that, yes. Just call me dollar cupid. All right? Anything for true love.

Liam: Well, I tell you what, dollar cupid, thanks for working your magic. Hope is gonna be so surprised to see me.

Steffy: Okay, so we’ll have staging over here, easy access for entrances, and did you get the addition for pascal? He’s coming from cellino.

Carter: Yep. I have a contract ready just in case.

Steffy: Great.

Thomas: I am so excited and proud to be a part of this and it’s all because of you, hope.

Hope: I really couldn’t have done it without help, so thank you for being such an amazing partner. You are the gifted man behind my line and behind me.

Ridge: My love for you will never die. It’s not a question.

Brooke: But?

Ridge: But if we have to try so hard to make something work, maybe it doesn’t exist anymore.

Brooke: Ridge…

Ridge: Aren’t you tired of it? The pain and the heartache we keep causing each other over and over again? Trying to find a way to protect you, protect me, protect our kids. You understand that, right?

Brooke: Yeah, I understand.

Ridge: So this idea of coming to the city, any city, even here and thinking that we’ll find a love and that– that we will fall into each other’s arms, I just… I just don’t see it.

Brooke: This eternal city, it offers eternal love. Look, I am here to represent forrester. I’m also here to support my daughter and your son and watch their success, but I’m really here for another reason. Because I want to be able to believe that this could be a new beginning for you and me. I believe that. I want to be your logan again and I just need to get you to believe it, too.
