Brady asked Tate if he talked to Holly, but he said he hadn’t. Tate said he couldn’t tell Holly that Sophia is keeping the baby. He said he was scared of becoming a father. Brady said it wouldn’t be easy, but he had faith in him. He told Tate to let Holly know that he cared about her. Tate said things would have been over with if Sophia’s mother didn’t find out. He blamed Ava for saying something to her. Brady said it wasn’t Ava’s fault. Tate said he didn’t understand how this happened when he and Sophia used protection. Brady said the situation wasn’t easy for him either. When Tate was about to go see Holly, Amy (Sophia’s mother) showed up. Brady said he asked her to come over so they could talk. When Tate wanted to leave, Amy asked him to stay. Brady didn’t know where to begin their talk. Amy said they could start with planning the wedding. Brady was shocked, but Tate said he wasn’t marrying Sophia. Amy said that he and Sophia were minors so what they wanted and what was right were two different things. Brady said marriage was the best solution for them. Amy said abortion wasn’t the best solution either. She said this wasn’t what she wanted for Sophia, but she wasn’t going to forget her beliefs. Brady told her things didn’t have to change. She said she wasn’t changing her mind about her beliefs and was doing what was best for Sophia and the baby. Brady said if Sophia kept the baby, he and Tate would do their best to provide for her. Amy said that was the least they could do before she left. Tate thanked Brady for having his back to which Brady said he always would. He said he had to see Holly. Sophia showed up at the Kiriakis mansion to see Holly. She apologized to Holly and said she never meant for this to happen. Holly appreciated her apology. When she asked Sophia how she was, Sophia said she was sick and gaining weight. Holly realized Sophia was still pregnant. Sophia said she thought Tate told her that her mother stopped them from going to get the abortion. Holly said Tate didn’t tell her. Sophia said her mother was making her and Tate get married.

Ava went to the DiMera mansion to demand a confession from Kristen. Kristen brought up the texts Ava received. Ava told her the texts were traced to the mansion. Rachel was listening to their conversation from the door. Kristen said anyone could have sent the texts. She came up with reasons why Johnny, Chanel, and EJ could have sent the texts. Ava said Kristen was the one who didn’t like her dating Brady. When she ripped into Kristen, Rachel walked in and told her to leave her mother alone. She wanted her to stop bullying her mother and demanded that she leave. Kristen sided with Rachel and ordered Ava out. If Ava kept harassing her, Kristen said she would call the police. When Ava walked out, Kristen asked if Rachel sent the texts. Rachel admitted to sending the texts to help her and Brady get back together. Kristen told Rachel not to send anymore texts and told her not to threaten anyone. Rachel reminded her that she and other people did it. Kristen said the family did it but it wasn’t right. She didn’t want Rachel to make enemies. Rachel was shocked that she had to give Kristen her phone. Kristen said they were changing the WiFi password so she couldn’t use anything else. Ava went to see Brady. They wished each other Happy New Year. He told her about his conversation with Amy. Ava blamed herself for what happened. Brady said it wasn’t her fault. When he suggested they change the subject, she said her conversation wouldn’t be any better. She said she was still getting texts and went to talk to Kristen. Brady said he would take care of it. Tate found Holly at the park. When he was about to apologize, she said she already knew what he was going to say. Holly said she felt like an idiot because he didn’t tell her the truth. Tate said he couldn’t figure out what to say. He said he and Sophia weren’t getting married and said it would be over in nine months. Holly said it was never going to be over. Brady went to see Kristen and warned her to stop sending the texts. He said he would sue her for harassment if she didn’t stop. While Brady was yelling at her, Kristen cut him off to tell him Rachel sent the texts.

Holly found Doug III beat up in the park. He lied to her and told her the men who attacked him tried to mug him. Doug III tried to stop her from calling the police. Holly helped him up and wanted to take to someone who was trustworthy. Stephanie arrived at the Kiriakis mansion with headshots for Bonnie to sign. Sarah let her know that Bonnie wasn’t home. They ended up talking about their men working together. Stephanie hoped the arrangement worked out for Xander and Philip. Sarah realized that Victor’s letter sealed the deal. She thought it was good that they were working together because they could help each other. Holly brought Doug III to the mansion so Sarah could help him. Sarah examined him. Holly lied about them calling the police and that they didn’t go to the hospital because he didn’t have insurance. Sarah wanted to help him, but she didn’t have anesthesia. He didn’t care about that. Xander and Philip got into an argument while they were at Titan. After their argument, Xander told Philip he planned to go after DiMera Enterprises. He wasn’t above bribing their board members. Philip didn’t want to work that way anymore. Xander thought Victor would approve of the plan, but Philip didn’t want to deal with Kristen. Stephanie was almost killed the last time Philip went after the DiMeras. Since Xander needed Philip to agree to it, he shut down the idea.

Brady blamed Kristen for Rachel sending Ava the threatening texts. Kristen thought it was a cry for help. They ended up arguing over Rachel. Brady told her that Rachel was a mess because of both of them. Kristen finally agreed with him. Brady felt like Rachel needed them to get along. He was afraid that Rachel could become a nightmare when she got older. Brady suggested that Rachel get therapy, but Kristen didn’t want that for her. He thought things would get worse for her if they didn’t do something about it now. She finally agreed to let her go to therapy. Tate told Sophia about Holly getting upset about the baby. He also told her that her mother went to his father insisting they get married. Brady and Tate weren’t down for the idea but agreed to take care of Sophia and the baby. Tate wondered if Sophia thought about adoption. Sophia felt like her mother would want to raise the baby herself if she could. Her mother wouldn’t allow her to give the baby to strangers. Sophia understood that her mother didn’t want her to give the baby up for adoption. Tate understood too, but he didn’t think they were ready to be parents. She eventually agreed that adoption might be the best choice. Sophia planned to talk about it with her parents. She asked him to go with her to her doctors’ appointment. Tate agreed to go, but he wished he could do more for her. She was grateful for what he did for her because she couldn’t get through that without him. After Sophia left, Tate called Holly. Holly ignored the call. She asked Doug III why he didn’t call the police about the mugging. Xander arrived at the Kiriakis mansion and told Sarah about what happened with Philip. Philip called Kate and told her about his day with Xander. He assured her that no one would find out that Victor’s letter was a forgery. He didn’t realize that Stephanie was listening at the door. She was shocked by what she heard.

While Rafe was tied up in the wine cellar, his phone rang. It was Jada. Rafe answered the phone with his foot, but had trouble talking because his mouth was gagged. Belle called EJ, but he didn’t want to talk to her since she stole his job. She said she didn’t go after the job. Jada asked her to take it. EJ thought it was Jada and Paulina’s fault that he lost his job. Belle told him to forget about getting revenge and accept what happened to him. He asked Belle what he could do to Jada or Paulina. When EJ went down to the wine cellar, he noticed that Rafe’s phone was on and ended the call. EJ gave Rafe his breakfast and blamed Arnold for why this was happening. He untied the gag around Rafe’s mouth. Rafe yelled out for help. EJ wondered if Rafe was finished and said he didn’t mean for this to happen. He said it was Rafe’s fault for coming back to the mansion after he told him to leave. Rafe asked if he was blaming him. He said Jada was looking for him, but EJ said she wasn’t. Rafe realized Arnold took his place again. EJ told him that Arnold kissed Jada, but he hid Arnold away until he could figure out what to do. Rafe said he didn’t have many options because he couldn’t keep him hidden forever. When EJ didn’t care about what he said, Rafe offered him a deal. They could work together to take Arnold down. Rafe said he wouldn’t turn EJ in or say anything about what he did. EJ thought Arnold would say something and when that happened, Rafe wouldn’t be able to stop Jada from coming after him. EJ said he would fix it himself and denied his offer. He said Rafe had to stay in the cellar. Belle told Marlena that she was the new D.A. Marlena was happy that she would be staying in town. Belle said things were uncomfortable with EJ, but she wouldn’t be seeing him unlike Shawn. She said she was concerned about working with Shawn. Shawn showed up and told her she should look into cases that EJ didn’t want to prosecute. Belle said she would do what it takes to make the charges stick. Shawn said he trusted her before he left.

Marlena told Belle that she was proud of the way she handled things with Shawn. She told Belle that she was going to do a good job as D.A. as long as she stayed away from EJ. They talked about Belle and EJ’s affair. Belle said it wasn’t going to happen again. Chanel saw Joy in the town square and confronted her. She asked how Joy could live with herself. Joy said nothing happened between her and Johnny because he stopped it. She wondered if Chanel could forgive Johnny and said she cared about them. Joy said everything happened because of a misunderstanding. Chanel said Johnny started it by not trusting her (Chanel) and then went to bed with her (Joy). She asked why Joy didn’t say anything in the beginning after everything she did for her. Joy said she didn’t ask her to look out for her. She ended up thanking Chanel for what she did for her. Chanel didn’t care about what Joy had to say because she lied to her to protect her job. Joy said she was wrong and that she didn’t want to make an impression of being a homewrecker. Chanel said she did stupid things but thought Joy was her friend. She said even if Joy didn’t know who she was, she knew Johnny was married and she didn’t care. Joy agreed that Chanel was right and wished she took EJ’s offer to leave town. Chanel was upset and said Joy wasn’t a good person. She told Joy to take the money and pretend it didn’t happen. Chanel walked away from Joy. While Johnny was at the Body and Soul office, Leo showed up telling him that Lady Whistleblower inspired him to write new material that wouldn’t get spoiled. When Leo presented his idea about Regan and Faith, Johnny said they wouldn’t do it because of him. Johnny told Leo what happened. Leo said it wasn’t cheating since he didn’t do anything. Johnny said it didn’t matter since he made the accusation first and then lied to Chanel. Leo said he made an accusation against Javi and Lady Whistleblower. Johnny said he didn’t have faith that things will work out between him and Chanel. Leo said he would keep Chanel and Joy away from each other as much as possible and left the office. Chanel showed up at the office to tell Johnny that she quit. EJ listened to Rafe’s voicemail and sent a text to Jada saying he was busy and would be in touch soon. He thought that text would keep Jada quiet. When Shawn went to the police station, Jada got the text from “Rafe.” She told Shawn she didn’t think the text was from Rafe.

Leo let Joy know about the changes to the script that would keep her away from Chanel. Joy wondered if what happened would end up in Lady Whistleblower’s column. She ran off. He left and ran into Javi. Javi wondered what happened, and Leo told him about Lady Whistleblower’s column about him. She found out about him ruining things with Javi and went after his career. He knew Javi and Hattie didn’t write the column but needed answers. Javi mentioned Rafe tracking down the culprit. Leo apologized to him for what happened. He told him about being hurt in the past, but he should have realized that Javi was different from the other men in his life. Javi didn’t want him to feel bad and advised him to move on the way he did. Leo wanted to be his friend. Javi revealed that he didn’t hate Leo and agreed to be his friend. They shook hands as Kerry approached them. Abe and Stephanie read Lady Whistleblower’s column. She informed the readers about Joy and Alex being together for New Year’s Eve. Lady Whistleblower also talked about the soap opera. She insulted Abe and Kate. Abe wanted Stephanie to get the column shut down. He believed the column would destroy the show. Stephanie assured Abe that she could stop Lady Whistleblower. She left and heard Chanel and Johnny arguing. Stephanie had an idea and went to see Chad. Chad let Stephanie in the door. She demanded that he tell her who Lady Whistleblower was. Chad couldn’t tell her the person’s identity because she’s anonymous. He wants to respect her wishes. She informed him the column could ruin the show. Chad shocked her by siding with the Lady Whistleblower. She wondered why he would hurt his friends that way. It’s not about First Amendment rights. The show was getting destroyed because of the column. She finally convinced him to look into the issue.

Bonnie read Lady Whistleblower bashing her acting skills. She threw her tablet when Hattie appeared. Hattie wished her a Happy New Year. Bonnie demanded to know what she wanted. She revealed that she wanted to apologize to her. Bonnie thought she was admitting to being Lady Whistleblower, but she realized that she couldn’t write that way. Hattie apologized for trying to get her fired. Bonnie hesitated to forgive her apology. Hattie admitted that she learned her lesson and missed her. Bonnie missed her too. The ladies decided to make up. Bonnie wanted to take Hattie to see Leo so he could write her back into the show. The story was written in a way that allowed her to come back. Hattie didn’t realize that and agreed to go with her. Chanel let Johnny know that she was quitting the show. Johnny tried to stop her from leaving. He reminded her that she loved being on the show. She did love it until she found out what he did with Joy. Chanel was done with him and the show. He wanted to know what happened, and she told him about her conversation with Joy. Chanel repeated that she was quitting and going back to her bakery. She insulted him a few times and tried to leave. Johnny stopped her and tried to get her to stay. Abe arrived, and Chanel told him that she was quitting the show. He informed her that she wasn’t leaving because she signed a contract. Chanel didn’t think he would sue his stepdaughter for breach of contract. Abe told her that he wouldn’t sue her, but he wanted her to stay. He reminded her about her importance to the show and that they couldn’t replace her. Johnny offered to quit so she could stay. Joy was reading Lady Whistleblower’s column when Alex showed up. She showed him the phone, and he was happy they were getting talked about. She filled him in about her conversation with Chanel. He felt like things would get better in time. Joy didn’t see Chanel forgiving her and didn’t think they could work together. Johnny’s offer to quit didn’t work with Chanel because she still had to work with Joy. She was done with the show and stormed off. Bonnie and Hattie went to Leo and asked him to write Charlamagne back into the show. Surprisingly, he didn’t give her a hard time about it. He agreed to write her back into the show. Johnny apologized to Abe for the trouble Chanel quitting would cause. Abe hoped Stephanie could stop Lady Whistleblower from ruining the show. Chad told Stephanie they were paying someone with an LLC account from a Rochester, New York account. It’s the only information he had about her. Kerry wanted to know why Javi wanted to be friends with Leo. Javi believed everyone deserved a second chance. He wanted to change the subject. Javi wanted to hear about Kerry’s time in Rochester. After Javi left to take a shower, Kerry pulled out his phone and wrote a story as Lady Whistleblower.

Stephanie woke up after having a steamy dream about Alex to Philip making her breakfast. She was impressed with his cooking skills. They talked about him being back at Titan. He was thankful that she had faith in him. Alex and Joy woke up in bed together. She was glad that he wasn’t married. Joy wondered if she was coming between him and Stephanie. He assured her that nothing was going on between them. Alex informed her that Stephanie was with his cousin. They made love again. Joy read her lines and realized that she was working with Chanel. She wasn’t going to be happy working with her. Alex thought she was in a no-win situation. Johnny arrived at the Body & Soul  set and was shocked to see Abe there. He informed Abe that Chanel was gone. Johnny told him that he cheated with Joy. Abe was upset, but Johnny assured him that it happened before she joined the show. Her being on the show was a coincidence. Johnny thought it was the right thing to admit to everything. He thought everything was over including his marriage. Abe thought there was a chance to save it. Johnny didn’t believe that because he screwed everything up. Abe mentioned that he slept with Joy, but he corrected him. He thought Johnny had the sense not to go through with it. Johnny felt he betrayed Chanel when he walked into Joy’s room. Chanel probably didn’t love him anymore. Abe told him that Chanel needed time to get over everything that happened. He had to work at making things right. Johnny was willing to do whatever he had to do to make things right. He thanked Abe for talking to him. Abe assured him that he didn’t hate him, but Paulina might be harder to win over.

Chanel went to Paulina and told her what happened with Johnny and Joy. Paulina was upset that Johnny was with Joy. Chanel told her that Johnny didn’t have sex with Joy. Paulina wondered why she was upset. Her daughter informed her that Johnny fooled around with another woman. Gabi and JJ woke up in bed together. They agreed that they were happy he spent the night. Gabi and JJ heard a crash and went downstairs. Javi was in the kitchen so Gabi introduced them to each other. Gabi and Javi talked about what they did for New Year’s. Javi said he went out alone. Gabi thought he was thinking about getting back together with Leo. After Javi left, JJ and Gabi flirted with each other. They decided to spend the day together. Philip had to go to the office even though he wanted to spend the day with Stephanie. They kissed each other just as Alex appeared at the doorway. Philip assured Alex that he and Stephanie enjoyed their holiday. Alex and Stephanie wished each other a Happy New Year. Abe wanted to talk to Paulina about what JJ told him. Paulina told him Chanel’s side of the story. She didn’t think Chanel would forgive Johnny any time soon. Johnny sat and looked at his ring. He was about to call Chanel. Chanel was at the town square when her phone rang. She answered the phone and told Johnny that she didn’t want to talk to him. Chanel spotted Joy sitting on a bench. She approached Joy to confront her about what happened with Johnny.

Everyone was gathered at the DiMeras for their New Year’s party. JJ told Gabi that he planned on telling EJ off. He was also glad to celebrate the new year with her. Philip gave Belle a drink and asked how she was doing. It was hard for her to avoid thinking about Shawn. She admitted that she was single for the first time in years. Alex asked Stephanie what happened to her date since it was almost 12. She looked over and saw Philip with Belle. They didn’t know where Joy was either. It was time for the countdown to start. Jada kissed “Rafe,” and EJ got disgusted by what he saw. He walked away and threw back a drink. EJ was upset until Belle came over to him. He offered to kiss her. She was okay with it as long as it was on the cheek. EJ interrupted Jada and Arnold. He wanted Arnold to help with the food leaving Jada confused. Johnny demanded to know why Joy was at the mansion. They started arguing about the stress they were under. If Chanel found out what happened between them, he was shocked when Chanel walked in the room. Chanel demanded to know what he was going to say. Johnny tried to avoid the question, but he saw how angry she looked. Joy made up a story, but Chanel was tired of buying her lies. Johnny asked Joy to leave so they could talk to Chanel alone. He told her that he went to Joy’s room, and they drank. They were half naked and started making out. Johnny assured her that’s all they did. Chanel believed him, but she slapped his face. Even though he didn’t have sex with Joy, he still cheated. He agreed with her but promised that nothing more happened between them. Chanel couldn’t believe she was working with someone he almost slept with. Johnny apologized to her. Chanel put everything together and realized that Alex covered for him and Joy was involved. Johnny explained what happened, and Chanel yelled at him for throwing Alex under the bus and lying for months. He was afraid he would lose her if she knew the truth. Johnny would do anything to make it up to her. He wondered if he could make it up to her. Chanel told him that he couldn’t fix it.

Joy rushed downstairs and grabbed a drink. Alex was shocked to see her drinking so much. Philip asked her about Chloe, and she snapped at him. Alex wanted to know what happened, but she asked him to take her home. JJ and Gabi mingled with Philip. She made a comment about him worming his way back into Titan. JJ suggested they leave. Belle and Jada toasted to her taking over as the new DA. She said that she didn’t get a chance to tell EJ yet. He was going to go ballistic. EJ yelled at Arnold for kissing Jada. Arnold assured him that he wouldn’t go any further than that. He refused to sleep with Jada because he didn’t get consent. Arnold wouldn’t do what he did to Sami again. EJ threatened Arnold just as Gabi and JJ walked by them. Gabi demanded answers and Arnold assured her that everything was okay. Belle and Jada were ready to leave. Jada let “Rafe” know she was ready to go, but EJ said she couldn’t go home with him. She wanted to know why she couldn’t go home with “Rafe.” EJ told her that Rafe got a big case from Black Patch, and he had to leave that night. Arnold played along and said he would be back before the wedding. Jada wanted him to be careful. They were about to kiss when EJ started coughing. Arnold decided to hug her instead. Alex was surprised that Chanel knew the truth. He was happy that everything was out. Alex knew that Chanel would be upset with them for keeping the secret. Joy was upset that it would cost her the friendship she developed with Chanel. She was also afraid that she could lose her job and have to go back to New York. Alex reassured her that she didn’t do anything wrong. He wouldn’t hate her. They started kissing.

While Gabi and JJ were at the town square talking about New Year’s Eve, Johnny came by and invited them to a party he and Chanel were throwing at the DiMera mansion. Gabi said she would think about it. When Johnny left, Gabi told JJ she didn’t feel comfortable at the mansion anymore. While they were talking, Gabi changed her mind about going. She wanted to get rid of the ghosts of her marriage as well as stick it to EJ. Philip was ready to take Stephanie out to eat, but she wanted to go to Johnny and Chanel’s party. She invited him to go to which he hesitated at first because EJ didn’t like him. Stephanie convinced him to go by saying EJ hated everyone. Chanel ran into Alex and Joy and invited them to the party. Joy said she would go only if Alex did. When Chanel left, Joy told Alex that she wanted Chanel to stop inviting them to things. Alex said he wanted Johnny to tell Chanel the truth so Joy wouldn’t have to lie about them hooking up. They talked about how they hated lying but didn’t want to hurt Chanel. “Rafe” met up with Jada at the pub. She told him that EJ was no longer the DA and said it was her idea. When Jada brought up Paulina, “Rafe” didn’t know who she was. Johnny walked in and overheard “Rafe” insulting EJ. He reminded “Rafe” that he and EJ would be working together. Jada was shocked that Rafe would be working with EJ. Johnny invited them to the party. “Rafe” accepted the invitation, but Jada said he didn’t want to go because of what happened with EJ. While they were talking about the party, “Rafe” tried to convince Jada to go.

EJ went back to the mansion and put Rafe in the secret room. When he was finished, Belle was there. Before Belle could tell him that she was the new DA, Chanel showed up and brought up the party. Chanel wanted to get alcohol from the wine cellar, but EJ stopped her. Belle noticed how EJ was acting. EJ said he would take care of it. Chanel invited Belle to the party. When Chanel left, Belle tried to tell EJ about taking his job when he said he wasn’t a fan of her work but he liked her. He asked her to be his date for the party. The guests showed up at the party. EJ warned Arnold to stay away from Jada and leave town right away. Gabi and EJ got into it when she and JJ showed up at the mansion. EJ wondered who invited Gabi to which she said his son did. When EJ noticed JJ, he asked if he was going to hit him again. JJ said he wouldn’t touch him. Chanel and Johnny let Joy and Alex in the mansion. Johnny asked Joy if he could speak to her alone. They went upstairs. Chanel and Alex wondered what was going on with Johnny and Joy. When the ball dropped, “Rafe” kissed Jada. Alex watched Philip kiss Stephanie. Johnny wanted to know why Joy came to the party. They yelled at each other. Chanel showed up while they were arguing.

Jada told Paulina that she wanted Belle to replace EJ as the DA. She told Paulina that Belle won cases against EJ and that she thought he was purposely letting criminals go free. Jada told her about the cases EJ didn’t do because his relatives were involved. Paulina told her that she tried to fire EJ before, but he threatened to have her recalled as mayor. She also said she didn’t want to cause problems between Johnny and Chanel. Jada said she understood, but she needed to keep Salem safe. Paulina agreed that EJ had to go, but she wanted someone in the position who would stay in it. Jada said Belle was ready to take the position. Paulina agreed to Belle taking the job even if EJ went after her again. Belle and Shawn ran into each other. She told him that Jada wanted her to replace EJ as the DA. Belle said she was hesitant until Jada convinced her to do it. Shawn said he was happy for her and agreed not to say anything. When he mentioned her past with EJ, she was upset. Belle said what she did with EJ was a mistake to which Shawn said he was concerned about how EJ would react. She said she didn’t want to make trouble, but she thought about fighting for the other side for a change. Since EJ chooses which people to go after, she wants to do things the right way. She said if she took the position, they would be working together. Shawn was okay with it. EJ tried to talk Arnold into leaving town. While he was talking to Arnold, Rafe showed up at the mansion. Arnold was out of sight, but he was listening to the conversation. EJ tried to get rid of Rafe, but Rafe said he was hired by Ava to find out who was sending her the texts. Rafe said Steve traced the source to the DiMera mansion. He asked EJ where Kristen was because the texts were traced back to her. EJ said she was at the office. Rafe said he was also there to find out who Lady Whistleblower was. He said he wanted to talk to Johnny and Chanel. After EJ said no one was home, Arnold dropped a glass on the floor. Rafe wanted to know what the noise was to which EJ said Harold would get it up. He noticed EJ was acting strange and wanted to know what he was hiding. EJ reminded him that he didn’t have any authority and wasn’t on the force anymore so he had to leave. When Rafe left, EJ yelled at Arnold and told him to leave town.

Paulina called EJ and told him to go to the commissioner’s office. EJ told Arnold to hide in the west wing. He said when he got back, they would talk about sending Arnold to Argentina. When EJ left, Rafe popped up and said he was going to find out what he was up to. Tate and Sophia were about to leave when Holly showed up. Holly wanted to know what was going on. Before Tate could say anything, Sophia and Holly got into an argument. Sophia ended up telling her that she was getting an abortion. Tate asked Sophia if he could talk to Holly in private. Sophia gave them privacy, but told him they were leaving when his conversation was over. Tate apologize to Holly and said he only had sex with Sophia once and used a condom. He said he only knew for a couple of days, but Sophia said it was his baby. Since he didn’t want to hurt her, he felt it wasn’t a good idea to say anything. He said they didn’t want to have the baby, but she couldn’t get an abortion in the state without her parents’ consent so they decided to go out of state. When Tate said it didn’t have to change anything, Holly said she wasn’t sure. He said when Sophia took care of the situation, they could work things out. Tate asked if she was okay with him going out of state with Sophia to which Holly said she had to be. He said it didn’t have to change anything between them. She thought it was the universe saying they shouldn’t be together. They didn’t care about the universe and said they loved each other. He let her know that he would be home soon. At the town square, Ava looked at one of the texts. When someone touched her shoulder, she thought it was Kristen. It turned out to be Sophia’s mother Amy. Amy said she wanted Sophia’s retainer before she clocked out. Ava said Sophia wasn’t working. When Ava realized her mistake, Amy said Sophia told her she was working. Ava said Sophia was a responsible employee. Amy asked if something was going on because Sophia has been moody. Ava said it was probably because of Tate and Holly. Amy said they were a problem in the spring so it didn’t explain why Sophia was acting like that now. Ava said Tate and Holly got back together recently so that might explain Sophia’s attitude. When Amy kept asking her questions, Ava suggested she ask Sophia. Amy said she had a right to know what was going on with her daughter. While they were talking, Sophia showed up. Amy wanted to know if she kissed Tate to which Sophia said she did, but he was back with Holly. Amy didn’t believe her and asked if she was on drugs. Sophia said they did more than just kiss. When Sophia got sick, Amy wanted to take her to the doctor. Sophia threw up in a garbage can and said it was too late for that. She went back to Tate’s apartment and told him they couldn’t go anymore. When Tate wanted to know why, Amy showed up and said it was because of her. EJ went to Jada’s office and asked what Paulina wanted. Paulina said she was replacing him as DA. When Rafe broke into the DiMera living room, he ended up seeing Arnold.

Amy and Sophia arrived at the townhouse to see Tate. He tried to be cordial, but Amy wasn’t interested in being nice. Amy went off because he snuck around with Sophia and got her pregnant. Tate assured her that they were careful, but Amy didn’t believe it. They shouldn’t have had sex when Sophia had plans for a big future. Tate explained to Amy that they wanted to get an abortion, but she wasn’t having it. Sophia didn’t want to talk about it at Tate’s place, but she informs him that she and her religion wouldn’t allow the abortion. Amy told them that she was upset they got pregnant and told them they were raising the baby together. She informed them that her grandchild wouldn’t be born out of wedlock. He informed her that he wasn’t doing that, but she wasn’t interested in hearing that. She said they had a wedding to plan. Amy wasn’t sure how they would explain what happened to Sophia’s father. She dragged her daughter out of the townhouse leaving Tate to wonder how he would tell Holly what happened, Doug III talked about not having enough money to pay his debts when Holly arrived. He hid the cash he had from the necklace. She told him what happened with Tate. Doug III asked her if she thought Tate would ever tell her the truth. She didn’t think he ever would have told her the truth. Holly told him that Tate thought they could put everything behind them, but she didn’t feel the same way anymore. They told each other how they felt and now Sophia’s pregnant. Tate and Sophia would always have that between them. Doug III felt like she had every right to be upset. He suggested they go to the concert so she could take her mind off of things. Holly felt like she would think about Tate the entire time.

EJ couldn’t believe he was getting replaced as DA. It didn’t take long for him to realize that Jada was behind him getting replaced. He demanded answers, but Paulina felt like it didn’t matter because the decision was hers to make. She explained the reasons why she was letting him go. He wanted to know who was replacing him, and she said it would be announced during a press conference EJ reminded her that they were family. Paulina was able to separate personal and professional matters. Before he stormed off, he gave Jada a warning. He let her know that she wasn’t getting away with what she did. Paulina was thankful that mess was done. Jada was aware that EJ threatened her, but Paulina wasn’t concerned about it. Rafe investigated the DiMera mansion when he ran into Arnold. He was horrified by seeing Arnold. Arnold told him that he faked his death with help from EJ and Stefano. He said they sent him to Argentina for years, and he was tired of hiding. Rafe felt like he made a mistake coming back. He took out his gun to call the police, but he was bashed on the head. EJ arrived while Arnold was talking to Rafe. He was shocked by what he saw. EJ checked to see if Rafe was alive and yelled at Arnold. He demanded to know what happened. Arnold told EJ what he told Rafe. Jada called Rafe’s phone, and Arnold answered it. He agreed to meet her at the pub. EJ wanted to know what he was doing. Arnold wanted to see if he could pull it off. EJ wanted to clean up his mess. Ava showed Brady the text message she received. He said that he was with Kristen for a little bit when he saw Rachel. Brady said that Kristen denied sending the messages. It was a simple plan, and Kristen wouldn’t do something so simple. Ava told him that Steve said the texts were coming from the DiMera mansion. She didn’t want to talk about that. Ava wanted to talk about Tate. She dropped the bomb that Sophia and Tate were having a baby. Brady was horrified by the news. He wondered what Sophia was going to do, but Ava wasn’t sure. EJ dragged Rafe’s body to the secret passage. He hoped Arnold didn’t screw things up anymore. Arnold went to the pub to meet with Jada. He wanted to know her news. She noticed that his clothes were different. Arnold smiled at her.
