Paulina begins the wedding ceremony of Jada and “Rafe”. Paulina asks if anyone objects, so Leo stands up and announces he has something to say. Paulina questions what is going on here. Javi asks Leo what the hell he is doing. Leo reminds Javi that he said “Rafe” might shoot the messenger, so he’ll take the hit. Paulina complains about Leo interrupting while Leo insists this is important. Leo says he has something to tell, but Javi says it’s nothing. Leo asks Javi if he’s sure. Javi thanks Leo for trying to protect him but says it’s his secret to tell. Javi then announces that he has something to say.

At the police station, Belle thanks Shawn for he and JJ being able to take the stand in court. Shawn says he was just doing his job. Belle says she appreciates it, especially since it meant he had to miss Rafe and Jada’s wedding. Belle asks if he thinks it’s too late to go. Shawn doesn’t think they’d appreciate him showing up in the middle of the ceremony. Belle points out that at least he got to celebrate at the bachelor party. Shawn mentions that he could’ve done without Chanel throwing herself at him which Belle questions. Shawn explains that he tracked her down at Small Bar and she was desperate for a friendly face. Belle understands she was drunk and upset at Johnny. Shawn assures that he and Chanel did not sleep together, unlike her and EJ.

EJ declares that everything is in place, so the rest is up to Arnold if he doesn’t screw this up.

Arnold tells Javi that whatever wedding surprise he has in store can wait. Arnold then gets a text from EJ. Jada asks “Rafe” if everything is okay. Arnold tells Javi that it’s going to have to wait because he has something to say now. Jada says he’s scaring her and asks what’s going on. “Rafe” responds that he’s sorry but he can’t marry her, leaving Jada and everyone else shocked. Jada pulls “Rafe” aside and asks what he’s talking about. He responds that he can’t marry her because she’s not the woman he thought she was. Paulina questions what this is about. “Rafe” says he’s sorry to interrupt the ceremony and he didn’t want it to be like this. Jada questions what he means. He says he hates to do this right now. Gabi and Javi question what he’s doing. “Rafe” responds that he’s still processing this all himself. Jada questions what is going on and what was in the text he got. “Rafe” brings up EJ hiring him to find Sloan Peterson and reveals he was lying about that.

Belle tells Shawn that what happened with EJ shouldn’t have happened and calls it a mistake. Shawn says they are divorced so how she spends her time and who she spends it with is her business, so he never should’ve brought it up. Belle points out that he did bring it up so it seems like he’s upset about it. Shawn admits he is because he thought she had better taste which Belle questions. Shawn calls EJ scum. Belle asks if they are grading each other’s sexual partners now. Belle insists that she and EJ are not in a relationship and it was a one time thing. Shawn repeats that it’s her business but Belle feels he has more he’d like to say. Shawn says there’s not but Belle tells him to go ahead and say it because there’s no reason to pull any punches. Shawn responds that as someone who’s dealt with addiction, he’s in tune to when someone is lying. Belle questions him thinking that she’s lying to him about EJ. Shawn clarifies that he thinks she’s lying to herself.

EJ waits at home, hoping Arnold doesn’t mess this up and drops the hammer on Jada.

Jada asks “Rafe” what is on his phone. He responds that it’s about the case. He says EJ was his client but the case was not about Sloan Peterson, it was about Jada. She questions why EJ would hire him to investigate her. Gabi argues that Rafe would never go behind Jada’s back. Gabi asks if there’s something Javi and Leo aren’t telling her but Leo says they know nothing about this. “Rafe” explains that EJ came to him to dig up dirt on her because he blamed her for taking his district attorney job and was desperate to prove that she wasn’t as clean as she seems and he wanted anything he could find to leverage in to getting his job back. Jada doesn’t understand why Rafe would want to help EJ.

EJ texts Arnold not to forget to act like it’s killing him since he’s the tormented groom with a broken heart. Belle shows up and tells EJ that she just came from court. EJ guesses she came to gloat. Belle says that Shawn was a witness and she’s just agitated because he gave her an earful about EJ. Belle says it wasn’t supposed to go like this. EJ understands why she felt uncomfortable seeing Shawn. Belle brings up Shawn walking in on EJ trying to sneak out of her mom’s house this morning. EJ asks if Belle came for an apology. Belle says she came to talk about how they are going to handle their relationship going forward.

Shawn sits at his desk and opens a folder, questioning what this is.

Jada questions why “Rafe” would ever agree to dig up dirt on her for EJ of all people. Paulina argues that she deserves an answer. “Rafe” says he figured it would be easy money because EJ was offering a boatload of cash and he was sure there would be nothing, but the problem is that he found something. Stephanie calls that impossible, asking what he could have possibly found on Jada. Paulina argues that Jada has been nothing but an upstanding citizen. “Rafe” says he didn’t want to believe it either but it’s all right here.

EJ asks what Belle means by handle their relationship. Belle says they don’t have a relationship. EJ points out that she used the word. Belle says she didn’t mean it like that and argues that it was never in her plans to have Shawn find out that they spent the night together. EJ argues that Shawn is a grown man and they are divorced, so he’s going to have to deal with her having a life apart from him. Belle says he’s not the only one and brings up Marlena. Belle worries that it’s out there now, so the more likely that Sami will find out and it’s only a matter of time before she comes back to town. EJ says they discussed that worrying about Sami is a total waste of energy. Belle points out that he didn’t think that way last time. EJ insists he’s over that now and is not going to live in fear of her anymore. Belle thinks they should be prepared because you never know what Sami might do. EJ asks if she came all this way to talk strategy about Sami or if there’s something else on her mind.

Jada asks “Rafe” to tell her what he found. He explains that he talked to a detective on the force and had him take a look at her files. “Rafe” reveals that he found some disturbing instances where rules were bent or broken. Jada calls that not possible. Paulina asks what rules they are talking about. Jada promises to not know what he’s talking about. He repeats that it’s all here and calls it a very disturbing trail of lies and corruption.

Belle asks EJ what other reason she would have for coming over. EJ says he doesn’t know. Belle tells him to forget whatever he’s thinking. Belle tells EJ that whatever happened last night is never happening again and calls it a drunken mistake. Belle argues that she’s the district attorney so she has to carry herself a certain way and make good choices, so she’s leaving. EJ tells her to go ahead then, but they end up kissing instead.

“Rafe” says if it were one case, he might be able to write it off as a simple mistake. Jada calls this all one big mistake. “Rafe” says he wishes he was, but the detective compiled every questionable thing Jada has done and all the evidence against her. Jada demands to see it, saying she will respond to every one and asks where it’s at. Shawn then arrives and announces he has it right here. Gabi questions what Shawn is doing there. Shawn says he was in court, then went back to the station and found this on the desk. Paulina questions what it is. “Rafe” guesses the detective must have left it for Shawn. Shawn explains that it’s several case files from when Rafe was in the hospital and Jada was acting commissioner. Paulina asks what it says. Shawn says he didn’t go over all the details but he did notice issues with some certain events and timelines including evidence and warrants. Shawn reveals that the files seem to show that Jada was rogue during all these investigations. Jada argues that she always followed the law. Shawn says these documents show a history of skirting the rules. Jada shouts that she would never do that. “Rafe” points out that she was under a lot of pressure and didn’t know if he was going to live while she had to prove to everyone that she was capable. Jada says she is capable and swears she would never do anything underhanded. “Rafe” says that’s unfortunately not how it looks. Jada asks to see the files but Paulina thinks she should take them.

Belle tells EJ that they shouldn’t be doing this, repeating that it was a mistake and she just got divorced. EJ points out that her being divorced means she’s free to do whatever she wants, but if she truly doesn’t want this, she should leave before it goes any further but if she does, they should take it upstairs. Belle decides they should go upstairs before she changes her mind, so they do.

Jada questions Paulina believing any of this is true. Paulina talks about how much she always respected and believed in Jada. Jada can’t believe “Rafe” is doing this to her. He says he’s sorry and tells her how much it hurts him. Jada questions him doing it. He claims he took the job from EJ while being so sure he wouldn’t find any dirt but the evidence seems pretty clear cut so he thinks it’s best that they don’t get married while she’s under investigation. Paulina hates to say it but believes he is right as she can’t be affiliated with any kind of wrongdoing or perform this ceremony until they get to the bottom of this situation. Jada cries that this is crazy and not true. “Rafe” wishes that were the case and he never found any of this. Paulina tells Jada they can just hope it’s a terrible misunderstanding. Jada calls it a big ugly lie and asks how Shawn can’t see through this, pointing out that he didn’t even see who left it on his desk. Paulina instructs Shawn to take Jada to the police station for questioning. Stephanie asks if this can’t wait since she’s still in her wedding dress. Paulina insists that the sooner they go through the process, the better it will be. Shawn tells Jada that he’s sorry as he then escorts her away.

EJ and Belle go to his bedroom and continue kissing as they begin to undress each other and kiss on to the bed where they have sex again.

Stephanie, Steve, and Kayla go to the Brady Pub. Stephanie can’t believe Rafe, Shawn, and Paulina let that happen. Stephanie wants to go to the police station but Steve says there’s nothing she can do. Kayla trusts Paulina and Shawn. Stephanie complains that Jada did not do what they are saying. Kayla agrees that she can’t imagine Jada breaking the law to prove herself as commissioner. Steve says that’s why they need to strategize to help her, but first they need to know what “Rafe” found and what evidence they have against her. Stephanie says it has to be a misunderstanding as there’s no other way to explain it. Kayla promises to do whatever they can to help Jada. Stephanie says the worst part is that Jada’s fiancée did this to her.

Gabi confronts “Rafe” and asks why he did this. He claims he had no choice but Gabi argues that he did and that he didn’t have to get involved with EJ in the first place. Gabi demands they go home and talk about this right now but “Rafe” says after the day he’s had, he’s not going home to answer a bunch of questions. Gabi questions him not being in the mood. He says he knows it looks like he’s the bad guy but he’s just trying to do the right thing, so he just needs to think. Gabi tells him they will talk about this later and exits. “Rafe” goes over to Javi and Leo and says he can’t believe this happened as his wedding is ruined. Javi asks if he’s okay. He says he’s not as he just found out his bride is completely corrupt and doing all this shady stuff behind his back. Javi argues that he’s in no position to judge, pointing out that he’s made mistakes of his own, bringing up what he did with the stripper.

Shawn and Paulina bring Jada to the police station. Jada calls this insane, arguing that Paulina can’t possibly believe this is true. Paulina responds that she really doesn’t know. Jada argues that she knows her and that she’s not the type of person to play fast and loose with the law to look good as commissioner. Jada adds that Paulina was with her the whole time that Rafe was in a coma. Paulina suggests those struggles could have led her to cut corners but Jada insists that she didn’t and she was determined to carry on Rafe’s legacy while being afraid he wouldn’t wake up. Jada asks how Rafe could dig up dirt on her while telling her he loves her. Shawn points out that he did say he didn’t think he would find anything. Jada continues to question why Rafe would look for dirt on her in the first place.

“Rafe” tells Javi that he almost forgot Javi was about to tell everyone. Leo intervenes and says he stood up first. “Rafe” brings up the guy code and says what happens at the bachelor party, stays at the bachelor party. “Rafe” tells them that his wedding is in shambles after finding out his bride cheated her way in to his job and now he has to go figure out what he’s going to do with the rest of his life as he walks away, leaving Javi and Leo confused. Javi can’t believe that just went down. Leo thought he had a lock on the craziest wedding interruption in town but that blew it out of the water. Javi asks what to do now, if they still tell Jada that “Rafe” cheated on her since they decided it was the right thing to do. Leo points out that Javi wanted her to know the truth before she committed herself to Rafe and now there’s no wedding. Leo adds that since “Rafe” betrayed Jada twice in 24 hours, he thinks she dodged a bullet. Javi agrees that telling Jada now would just be kicking her while she’s down.

Paulina instructs Shawn to take Jada in to the interrogation room where they can go over all of this, piece by piece. Shawn tells Jada that he’s sorry to do this and asks if she wants to wait for her lawyer. Jada says to just get it over with since her fiancee just tore her apart at their wedding, so the day can’t get any worse as they then head to the interrogation room.

Stephanie tells Steve and Kayla that she doesn’t get it as she thought Rafe was a good guy but then he goes after the woman he loves in this way. Steve notes that he’s been making some questionable decisions lately. Kayla talks about it being hard to believe while Stephanie talks about Jada being one of the best people she knows. Steve says to consider the source and says this has EJ’s filthy fingerprints all over it.

After having sex, EJ asks if Belle still thinks this was a mistake. Belle responds that her brain is not really in thinking mode. EJ jokes that thinking is overrated. They go to kiss again but EJ gets a text from Arnold saying it’s done and that they took Jada to the police department which makes EJ smile. Belle asks if it’s good news. EJ says very.

Arnold returns to his hotel room at the Salem Inn and gets a text back from EJ, telling him it’s shaping up to be a great day.

Kayla joins Steve at the church for Jada and Rafe’s wedding. Kayla says she wanted to go to Jada’s bachelorette party but she was stuck at work all night. Steve jokes that she just has to not upstage the bride.

Jada gets a call from “Rafe”. Arnold says he just wanted one last call with his gorgeous fiancée before she becomes his wife.

Javi runs in to Leo in the town square. Leo says he was just telling Marlena how happy they are. Javi says no and that he’s mad at Leo because he ruined Jada and Rafe’s wedding. Leo asks what he’s talking about and asks how he could ruin a wedding that hasn’t even happened yet. Javi reveals it might not ever happen because last night, “Rafe” cheated on Jada.

Jada tells “Rafe” that she’s glad he called because when she didn’t hear from him, she worried about him getting cold feet. He assures that nothing can stop him from making her his bride today.

Rafe knocks out EJ and declares there’s not going to be a wedding as he then escapes the secret room in the underground tunnels.

Kayla asks Steve how the bachelor party was. Steve thinks some of them might need hangover remedies but it wasn’t exactly good as he found out that “Rafe” took a case, working for EJ and didn’t tell him about it. Kayla thought they hated each other. Steve says that didn’t stop “Rafe” from taking the job. Kayla asks about the job. Steve says that “Rafe” claims that EJ hired him to track down Sloan Peterson and a couple weeks ago, “Rafe” told Jada that he sent him out of town on a case which he did not do. Kayla asks what he thinks is going on. Steve says he doesn’t know but didn’t feel last night was the time to get in to it. Steve adds that after the wedding, he and Rafe are going to have a talk about their working relationship.

Leo tells Javi that’s crazy since Rafe is head over heels in love with Jada, so he can’t believe he would cheat on her. Javi reveals that it was with the exotic dancer that Leo hired for the bachelor party. Leo argues that Sally would never do that but Javi says Sally must have called in sick because they sent Savannah which shocks Leo. Javi remarks that this isn’t the Rafe he knows.

Arnold tells Jada that they could do a photobooth setup at the wedding. Jada notes that Javi did pretty much all the planning so she’s beyond grateful to him since work’s been crazy. Jada feels they are in for a few surprises and tells “Rafe” that she has a surprise for him. Jada says she loves him and will see him soon as she hangs up. Jada then tells Stephanie that he sounded upbeat like he can’t wait to marry her. Stephanie says she told her there’s nothing to worry about.

DiMera Enterprise worker Rita Leslie goes to the DiMera Mansion and calls out for anyone but receives no response, complaining about no one being there to greet a guest. She looks at the portrait of Stefano and remarks that this wouldn’t happen when he was around but times have changed. Rafe then emerges from the tunnels, shocking Rita.

Kayla talks about what a great guy Rafe is and insists there must be a logical reason for him to go behind Steve’s back. Steve says he sure hopes so. Steve asks Kayla not to say anything to Jada about this since it’s her day and he wants it to go off without a hitch. Kayla agrees not to say a word. Steve wishes Jada’s father Marcus could be there. Kayla knows Marcus would be grateful that Steve is stepping in to give Jada away. Kayla tells Steve that she loves him and they kiss until Paulina arrives and jokes for them to get a room.

Leo tells Javi that he’s so sorry, asking who would have thought since Rafe is so straight in every sense. Leo asks if Javi could have jumped to the wrong conclusion. Javi assures that he walked in on them in his hotel room and she was wearing a towel, then “Rafe” admitted to sleeping with her and pleaded with him not to tell Jada. Javi questions how to keep this a secret from her.

Jada tearfully talks to her mom on the phone about how she wishes she could have her there, but she will send lots of pictures. Jada tells her to focus on getting better and says she loves her so much as she hangs up. Jada tells Stephanie that she can’t cry anymore. Stephanie asks how her mom is. Jada says she’s okay but has a really bad flu, so she’s glad she didn’t try to fly out even though she wishes she could be there. Jada talks about not getting as emotional at her first wedding.

Rita introduces herself to Rafe. Rafe asks if she has a phone as he needs to call the police. Rita asks why and questions what he was doing coming out of the walls. Rafe explains that EJ was holding him hostage and Arnold has been posing as him. Rafe says Jada is about to get married, so he needs to stop this. Rita looks through her purse for her phone.

Arnold gets dressed in his hotel room and calls EJ.

EJ remains knocked out in the room in the tunnels with his phone ringing nearby.

Arnold leaves EJ a message that he needs to hear from him for his final marching orders and tells him to call him back. Gabi then shows up at his door.

Rafe asks Rita to hurry before he passes out. Rita then pulls out a taser and tases Rafe.

Steve and Kayla greet Paulina, who explains that Abe got stuck at the Body and Soul office since they fell behind after Bonnie’s fall down the elevator shaft. Kayla is glad she didn’t have to tape today. Paulina congratulates Kayla on stepping in for Bonnie. Kayla says Abe is hard to say no to. Steve invites Paulina to sit with them if she’s flying solo tonight. Paulina then reveals that she’s officiating the wedding. Paulina jokes about all the directions she got from Javi as the wedding planner. Paulina declares that Rafe and Jada are going to get hitched without a single hitch.

Leo suggests Javi could never tell Jada, admitting it could cause anxiety and nightmares but it beats having to see the expression on her face. Leo then decides he might not want to live that way and asks if he’s going to tell Jada about what he saw. Javi asks how he can and says that “Rafe” gave him a whole bro code speech and laid a huge guilt trip on him, so he agreed to keep quiet. Javi argues that Jada deserves to know and she’s wearing his mother’s engagement ring. Javi remarks that his mother would be turning over in her grave if she knew what “Rafe” had done, but on the other hand, family was everything to her and Rafe is his flesh and blood. Javi states that he planned the whole wedding and asks how he could now destroy the whole thing.

Jada comes out of her room in her wedding dress. Stephanie tells her that she is stunning and says Rafe won’t know what hit him..

EJ emerges from the tunnels and is shocked to find Rita in the living room with Rafe unconscious on the couch. EJ questions what is going on here. Rita explains that she just came from the police station and brought the information he requested on Jada. EJ says that’s great but asks what the hell happened. Rita explains that she was looking for EJ but Rafe came staggering out of the tunnels, saying that EJ kidnapped him and was holding him hostage, then he asked for her phone to call the police so she tasered him. EJ questions Rita taking it upon herself. Rita says she did out of being loyal to EJ and his family, especially now that he’s no longer in his position to make his charges vanish. EJ thanks Rita and says he’s in her debt. Rita says to secure her silence, she hopes this will be reflected in her yearly bonus. EJ agrees and then Rita asks him to tell her exactly what he’s up to.

Gabi questions “Rafe” as to why he answered the door, expecting EJ. He explains that EJ hired him to do some work for him then he stuck him with the bill, so he thought he was coming. Gabi calls EJ a cheap bastard and says Rafe could’ve just asked her if he needed money while getting involved with EJ is never good. “Rafe” insists that he hates EJ as much as Gabi does. Gabi asks “Rafe” to promise not to let him get dragged down by EJ.

EJ asks Rita for help getting rid of Rafe but Rita says she did the tasering, so EJ does the lifting.

Paulina admits to Kayla and Steve that she’s surprised to be officiating the wedding since she and Rafe haven’t been BFFs since she relieved him of his duties. Kayla suggests maybe he’s trying to mend fences. Paulina comments on it being cold outside. Steve thinks all Jada and Rafe care about is becoming husband and wife by the end of the ceremony.

Jada tells Stephanie if they are ready, they can get going. Stephanie stops to give Jada a gift from her sister Talia, which is the necklace their dad got her when she was little. Jada says Talia never took it off, so she can’t believe she sent it to her. Stephanie puts the necklace on Jada and says she’s just so sorry her family couldn’t be there today. Jada responds that her family is in her heart and she has an adopted family in the Johnsons. Jada adds she’s gaining a whole new family as well. Stephanie presents a sixpence for her shoe for luck, but feels she won’t need luck as she and Rafe are going to live happily ever after.

“Rafe” assures Gabi that he knows how to handle EJ. Gabi says she thought she did too. Gabi presents him a birthday gift sent from Eli and Lani which is a bottle of champagne for his wedding night. Gabi asks if “Rafe” is ready to go and says they can drive together. He questions her not having a hot date. Gabi explain that JJ got called in to a court case. He jokes that maybe Jada will throw her the bouquet. Gabi tells him that she’s so happy he and Jada found each other, saying he deserves all the happiness in the world and she loves him so much as they hug. They then exit together.

Javi asks Leo what he thinks he should do. Leo jokes that people rarely ask for his advice. Leo says before Javi came to Salem, he knew a secret that caused him so much guilt and angst that he would never do it over again. Leo believes Javi should tell Jada, but points out that he doesn’t know what it’s like to come from a loving family. Leo notes that if he did have that, he might feel obligated to the other family member. Leo points out that Javi lives with Rafe. Javi complains that this isn’t helping him at all.

EJ and Rita drag Rafe back down the tunnels to the secret room and tie him back up. EJ says he knew he could count on her. Rita responds that she’s loyal to all DiMeras. Rita notes that it would’ve helped if he told her the entire story from the beginning. EJ says it was on a need to know basis, so he was protecting her. Rita assumes that if Jada is on her way to the altar, that Arnold has something to do with his plan which EJ confirms. EJ explains that Arnold recently resurfaced despite being paid off. Rita recalls the last time Arnold stood in for Rafe, it went south very quickly. EJ assures that he has no intention of that, but Rafe stumbled upon Arnold so he had no choice but to put Rafe on ice for the past few weeks. EJ mentions being ousted from his position by Jada. Rita guesses he’s going to use this information to return the favor.

Javi and Leo arrive at the wedding. Paulina questions who invited Leo. Leo introduces Javi as his boyfriend. Paulina mentions meeting Javi, who says he loves her dress. Steve adds that he met Javi at the bachelor party while Kayla introduces herself. Leo asks if Javi has decided what to do. Javi says he hasn’t yet.

Rita tells EJ it’s a novel way to use this information but it remains to be seen if it will accomplish his goals. EJ says the clock is ticking and he’s already wasted time with this distraction. EJ is sure Rafe will have questions when he wakes up, so he asks Rita to keep an eye on Rafe. Rita says EJ owes her more than one as EJ exits.

Leo warns Javi that his window of opportunity to do something is dwindling. Javi says he just needs more time to think. Gabi comes over and praises Javi’s wedding planning. “Rafe” comes over and tells Javi that this day would not have been possible without him. Stephanie arrives and greets Kayla and Steve. Stephanie tells Steve that it means the world to Jada that he is stepping in for her father and walking her down the aisle. Kayla goes to take her seat while Steve joins Jada. Steve talks with Jada about he and Marcus growing up and how his family was everything Marcus dreamed of, adding that he was so proud of Jada. Steve wishes Jada all the happiness that Marcus had in his marriage and that he has in his. Steve states that when you find the right person and make a family with them, there’s nothing better in the whole world. The music then begins so Steve walks Jada down the aisle to “Rafe” and Paulina. Steve tells “Rafe” to take good care of her as he takes his seat. Paulina then begins the ceremony. Paulina asks if anyone objects, so Leo stands up and announces he has something to say. Paulina questions what is going on here. Javi asks Leo what the hell he is doing. Arnold tells Javi that whatever wedding surprise he has in store can wait. Arnold then gets a text from EJ. Jada asks “Rafe” if everything is okay. Arnold tells Javi that it’s going to have to wait because he has something to say now. Jada says he’s scaring her and asks what’s going on. “Rafe” responds that he’s sorry but he can’t marry her, leaving Jada shocked.

Marlena sits at home until Leo shows up at her door. Leo says he knows he shouldn’t drop by unannounced but he brought scones. Marlena says that’s kind but she’s not really in the mood. Leo walks in anyway and asks what’s wrong. Marlena informs him that she had an argument with her daughter this morning, so Leo asks what it was about. Marlena explains that she went to bring Belle some coffee but she wasn’t alone. Leo tries to guess who she was with until Marlena lets it slip that it was EJ.

EJ brings a tray with a cupcake to Rafe in the secret room of the underground tunnels where Rafe is tied up. EJ sarcastically wishes Rafe a happy birthday and tells him he ha so many reasons to celebrate.

Gabi calls out to Jada that coffee is ready and asks who is ready to get married today. Jada gets up with a hangover and remarks that she feels like there’s no chance this wedding is going to happen.

Arnold is passed out on his bed in his room at the Salem Inn until he’s woken by Javi knocking at the door. Javi comes in wishing him a happy birthday and says he had a feeling “Rafe” would look like hell after how wild last night got. Javi brought him shrimp as his Grandma’s hangover cure. Arnold informs him that he already ordered room service and questions why he’s here so early anyway. Javi reminds him that he’s here to help him get ready for his wedding. Arnold thanks him but says he’s got it covered and suggests he go help Jada get ready because she will need more help. Before he can get Javi out of the room, the stripper from the bachelor party comes out of the bathroom in a towel, asking if breakfast is ready. She then stops and says she didn’t know he had company. Javi says neither did he.

Marlena tells Leo that she can’t believe she blurted it out. Leo assures he won’t repeat a word to anyone and he’s honored that she confided in him. Marlena admits that she doesn’t have anyone to confide in with John gone and she can’t with Belle. Marlena brings up what this will do to Belle and Sami’s relationship as well as Shawn since he showed up while all that was going on and then EJ walked out, making it pretty clear to Shawn that Belle and EJ had spent the night together. Marlena and Leo agree that was awkward. Marlena can’t believe she’s talking about this to a gossip columnist. Leo says he’s a former columnist and all of this has been on Body and Soul. Marlena says this is real life and she can’t believe she’s been so indiscreet as this is the type of thing she’d only tell to a really close and trusted friend. Leo believes Marlena confided in him because she thinks of him as a really close, trusted friend.

EJ puts a little birthday hat on Rafe and says now they are appropriately festive as he lights a candle on his cupcake and tells Rafe to make a wish. Rafe responds that he wishes EJ were dead. EJ says he said it out loud so now it won’t come true. EJ adds that he’s in a good mood so he won’t take that personally. Rafe remarks that knowing EJ, the cupcake is poisoned. EJ says then he wouldn’t be able to see the look on his face when he tells him the good news that today is also Rafe’s wedding day.

Jada complains to Gabi that her head is pounding. Jada worries that she’s supposed to get ready in four hours and she can’t even think straight. Gabi encourages that she just needs caffeine but Jada doesn’t think she has a chance. Gabi assures that she has her back as starting today, they are family. Gabi promises that Jada will walk down the aisle or else Javi would kill her because he’s so invested in planning the wedding. Jada asks where Javi is. Gabi explains that she told him that she and Stephanie had everything under control and that Stephanie will be there soon. Gabi adds that Javi has a much more difficult task ahead of him as he is helping “Rafe” get ready. Gabi remarks that Rafe is the only one who partied harder than Jada did last night.

Arnold tells the stripper that Javi was just leaving. She remembers Javi from the party last night. Javi questions what she is doing in “Rafe’s” room in just a towel. She goes back to the bathroom to get changed. Arnold tells Javi that it’s not what it looks like and that he can explain.

Leo declares he and Marlena to be best friends. Marlena reminds him that he’s still her patient. Leo argues that he hasn’t had a real appointment in ages. Leo tells Marlena that he came here because something wonderful happened and he wanted it to share it with her, so Marlena asks what happened. Leo reveals that he and Javi got back together.

Javi tells “Rafe” that he can’t believe him. Arnold repeats that he can explain, claiming he forgot his scarf at the bachelor party and that Savannah was kind enough to bring it to him and she had been drinking, so he didn’t think she should drive and decided it was best if she spent the night here. Javi questions where exactly she spent the night.

EJ reminds Rafe that he and Jada planned on getting married today. Rafe says that was before he saw EJ with Arnold which EJ calls the beginning of Rafe’s stay here. EJ then reveals to Rafe that Jada went along with their plans, so she is getting married today.

Jada admits to Gabi that she was surprised at how much “Rafe” was enjoying his bachelor party. Gabi guesses everyone gets a little wild the night before their wedding. Stephanie then arrives and says she brought Hollywood level cosmetics from the Body and Soul studio. Jada continues to complain about how she feels. Stephanie says she will take her look to the next level. Gabi says she will see them at the church as she has something to take care of first, but promises that she’ll be back in time to see Jada and “Rafe” get married.

Rafe tells EJ that he’s out of his mind as Jada would be chasing down every lead looking for him. EJ explains that Jada isn’t looking for him because she doesn’t think he’s missing which means she’s had plenty of time to plan her wedding to Arnold.

Arnold tells Javi that Savannah slept in the bed while he slept on the floor. She backs him up and says “Rafe” was a perfect gentleman. Javi doesn’t believe a word and tells them to just admit that they slept together.

Gabi goes to the Horton house where JJ answers the door without a shirt on and asks to what he owes the pleasure. Gabi responds that the pleasure is all hers.

Jada tells Stephanie that she feels a little more human after her third cup of coffee. Stephanie asks if she has any butterflies. Jada insists that she’s not nervous, reminding her that she has done this before which brings up Everett/Bobby. Jada says the silver lining from that is that it brought her and Stephanie closer together. Jada tells Stephanie that having her as her maid of honor feels so right. They say they love each other as they hug.

Rafe calls EJ a sick bastard and vows to make him pay for this. EJ says to blame Jada as this all could have been avoided if she hadn’t conspired with Paulina to have him fired. EJ warns against messing with a DiMera. Rafe questions this being his revenge and asks what he thinks is going to happen on their wedding night. EJ assures him that Arnold is not sleeping with anyone today.

Arnold tells Javi that he and Savannah had sex and questions why he’s making such a big deal out of it. Javi reminds “Rafe” that he’s getting married to Jada in four hours and that he proposed to her with his mother’s ring and now he’s making a mockery of that by sleeping with the stripper. Savannah corrects him that she’s an exotic dancer and points out that she didn’t cheat on anyone. She decides that if there’s no breakfast, she will just leave and spare herself the judgement as she storms out. Javi asks how he could do this to Jada. Arnold tells Javi to get over it because he’s not going to breathe a word of this to anyone.

Leo explains to Marlena how he exposed Kerry as Lady Whistleblower, so Javi threw him out of the house and then he and Javi kissed and it was everything. Leo adds that he spent the night and they had lots of sex. Marlena questions if he’s sure that was a good idea. Leo remarks that sex is always a good idea. Marlena reminds Leo that the last time they behaved so hastily, it ended badly for both of them. Leo says that was because he accused Javi of spying on him. Marlena advises Leo that he can’t go in to a relationship on a faulty foundation. Leo asks if she’s saying his relationship is doomed.

JJ tells Gabi that she looks amazing. Gabi says he does too and thanks him. JJ asks where she is off to. Gabi reminds him that it’s Rafe’s wedding. JJ says he’s happy to see her but asks what she’s doing here since she must be busy. Gabi says she has been helping Jada get ready and putting out fires all morning, so she’s exhausted but there’s one detail she forgot to take care of which she hopes JJ can help her rectify. Gabi then tells JJ that she hoped he would be her plus one to the wedding.

Stephanie asks if Jada is feeling up for this. Jada assures that she’s feeling much better. Stephanie says after everything she and Rafe have been through, she must be so happy to be getting married. Jada calls it amazing but Stephanie asks what’s wrong. Jada claims she’s fine but Stephanie says she can’t fool her and asks her to talk to her. Jada brings up that she hasn’t heard from Rafe and she thought she’d at least get a call from him before they walk down the aisle.

EJ reminds Rafe that he gave his word that Arnold would not lay a hand on Jada. Rafe reminds EJ of what Arnold did to Sami and asks how the hell he could let this happen. EJ assures that would never happen again. Rafe asks if he doesn’t think Jada is going to want to be with her husband on her wedding day. Rafe tells EJ that he needs to stop this. EJ tells him to calm down and that he has it all set up that before Jada and “Rafe” get married, the whole city of Salem will get the shocking news that Jada is a corrupt cop.

Stephanie tells Jada that she thought it was adorable that “Rafe” wanted to spend the night somewhere else. Jada says she did too but thought she would at least get a text goodnight and feels like she’s being ghosted. Stephanie points out that the phone works both ways and she didn’t call him. Stephanie adds that it’s still early and bets Javi is putting him through the wringer. Jada says it’s not just about some silly text or call, but something has been really off about “Rafe” lately.

Javi questions “Rafe” wanting him to keep quiet about the fact that he cheated on Jada. Arnold argues that they aren’t married and it’s not Javi’s secret to tell. Javi asks how he could hurt Jada like that. Arnold says he didn’t hurt her because she doesn’t know about. Arnold asks if Javi is going to tell Jada and ruin their big day. Javi complains that most bachelor parties don’t end up with the groom having sex with the stripper. Arnold argues that Javi said he’d never been to a bachelor party. Arnold says it’s not unusual while Javi says this just doesn’t seem like Rafe. Arnold warns Javi again not to breathe a word about this.

Marlena tells Leo that she never said his relationship was doomed. Leo thought she’d be more encouraging since he and Javi finally put Lady Whistleblower behind them, so it just felt right and asks why they would wait after being apart for so long. Leo thinks Marlena is projecting as she’s thinking about walking in on Belle and EJ while he’s talking about he and Javi. Marlena admits that he’s right as she was concerned that Leo might get hurt and she doesn’t want that to happen because she cares so much about him, just like a best friend as Leo hugs her.

Gabi tells JJ that she was going to ask him earlier but she lost her nerve. Gabi notes they haven’t been seeing each other very long but she knows being her date to a family wedding is a big deal, so she was worried that he might think she was rushing things. JJ admits he was wondering if she was going to ask and what it would mean. Gabi suggests they could disregard any meaning it might have and treat it like just a party. Gabi says maybe it’s just as simple as they like each other, so it would be really fun to go together. Gabi asks if JJ wants to be her date.

Javi tells Arnold that he hates this. Arnold says family looks out for each other. Javi argues that Jada is his family now too and tells Arnold that he can get ready without him. Javi reluctantly agrees not to say anything as he storms out of the room.

Stephanie asks Jada what she means by saying something is off with “Rafe”. Jada says he’s just been different for awhile now and brings up how he was getting handsy with the dancer last night which was so not him. Stephanie admits she didn’t love that either. Jada adds that “Rafe” hired EJ as a client when he hates him like poison, so she questions why he’d work with him. Stephanie encourages the idea of “Rafe” wanting some extra cash for the wedding. Jada argues that Black Patch is not short on funds and he didn’t tell her or Steve. Jada adds that EJ practically lost his job because of her but he’s totally fine with hiring her fiancée. Jada feels something about this doesn’t add up.

EJ explains to Rafe that Jada will lose her job, allowing Paulina to re-appoint “Rafe” and Arnold will then convince Paulina to rehire him. EJ states that “Rafe” and he will have a job while Jada will be the only one out on the street. Rafe says the problem with his plan is that Jada isn’t a dirty cop. EJ points out that Rafe isn’t either but Ava managed to do a number on his reputation. EJ admits he’s not Ava’s biggest fan but calls it a good idea. EJ declares that when all is said and done, Jada will be toxic. Rafe argues that he won’t get away with this. EJ feels he already has. EJ tries to feed Rafe his cupcake but Rafe suddenly breaks free from being tied up and charges EJ.

JJ agrees with Gabi that they haven’t been seeing each other very long and it is kind of a big deal for him to go with her to her brother’s wedding. Gabi starts to give up on it but JJ says he didn’t say no and he likes that it’s kind of a big deal as he wants to go with her. Gabi says she wants him to as well as they kiss until they are interrupted by JJ getting a call from Belle. JJ says he’s off today but says he can be there in an hour. Gabi guesses JJ won’t be her plus one after all. JJ informs her that they are prosecuting a perp that he arrested awhile back and the trial got moved up, so he has to be there as Belle needs he and Shawn to testify. JJ apologizes while Gabi understands that she sprung this on him out of nowhere. JJ says he’d much rather be spending the day with her than doing anything else. Gabi realizes that justice never takes a day off. Gabi says she has to go and that she’ll save him a piece of cake. JJ says even though he can’t go, he knows that even being asked was a big step and he likes that for them. Gabi says she does too as they kiss.

Javi runs in to Leo in the town square. Leo says he was just telling Marlena how happy they are. Javi says no and that he’s mad at Leo because he ruined Jada and Rafe’s wedding.

Stephanie tells Jada that she doesn’t blame her for overthinking things since the last time she was married, she got blindsided by the groom’s personality change so she would be a little sensitive to “Rafe” cutting loose. Jada then gets a call from “Rafe”. Arnold says he just wanted one last call with his gorgeous fiancée before she becomes his wife.

Rafe knocks out EJ and declares there’s not going to be a wedding.

Shawn is at home on the phone with Paulina, assuring her that Chanel is fine. Shawn asks Paulina not to say anything to Johnny because Chanel specifically didn’t want him to know where she spent the night last night, as Chanel then comes out from the bedroom behind Shawn.

Johnny sits in the living room of the DiMera Mansion, texting Chanel that he’s worried about her and to let him know that she’s okay. Kristen comes in and greets him. Johnny says he heard they found Rachel and brought her home which Kristen confirms. Johnny asks where they found her and if she’s okay. Kristen says she’s fine and wishes she was more sorry for what she put them through. Kristen admits she thought she was never going to see Rachel again, so she’s tremendously relieved. Johnny asks again where she ended up finding her. Kristen reveals that Rachel holed herself up in her family’s vacation home.

Rachel calls The Woman in White from her room and says she’s calling to check on Ava. The woman responds that Ava is fine and they are having a lovely breakfast as Ava remains tied up in a chair.

Brady calls Ava, leaving a message that he’s wondering why she’s not calling him back. Brady asks her to call him when she gets this as he’s starting to worry. Marlena comes in and asks if everything is alright. Brady tells Marlena that he’s just trying to get a hold of Ava to let her know the good news about Rachel and hoping she calls him back soon. Marlena mentions making coffee and suspects Belle might need some since she went to Jada’s bachelorette party last night and she’s still in bed, so she guesses she came in pretty late.

Belle wakes up complaining of a headache and then rolls over to see EJ in bed next to her. Belle hits EJ with a pillow to wake him up and questions how this happened. EJ says everything is a bit foggy. EJ remembers one minute they were arguing in the living room and the next minute, they were ripping each others’ clothes off in the bedroom. Belle continues to question how this happened and how she ever slept with him again after she just told a room full of women that he was her biggest regret.

Shawn thanks Paulina for keeping things quiet and says Chanel will appreciate that. Paulina asks to speak with her but Shawn claims she’s still asleep and he can have her call when she wakes up. Chanel thanks Shawn for covering as she’s not in the mood to deal with Paulina. Chanel calls it pretty pathetic as she used to be able to party all night and wake up fine, but now she’s completely destroyed after a couple round of Jell-O shots. Shawn says he heard it was a little more than that and asks what she remembers about last night. Chanel recalls being at the bachelorette party, crashing the bachelor party, fighting with Johnny and then running off to the bar. Chanel says it kind of goes blank after that but she remembers Shawn showing up at some point and that she kissed him. Chanel says it goes blank again after that and she just remembers waking up here in Shawn’s shirt, so she asks Shawn if they had sex last night.

Johnny asks Kristen how Rachel even knew about her family’s vacation home. Kristen explains that Rachel found a scrapbook she had all about her family with the information in there. Johnny recalls Sami mentioning the old Blake house. Kristen mentions it being where Peter married Jennifer back in the 90s and also where Andre set John up for his own murder. Johnny jokes that there was a lot of drama in that house. Kristen says the most dramatic surprise was finding out that her mother didn’t die in the accident when she was little and that she was just roaming around alone in that house.

The Woman in White says that’s enough about Ava and asks Rachel how her plan went and if her parents got back together, but Rachel says not even close. She says she’s sorry to hear that but encourages Rachel to be patient as it’s only a matter of time before they are one big happy family again.

Brady tells Marlena about Rachel running away to Kristen’s family’s home. Marlena asks if she said why she went. Brady says she admitted that she thought it would reunite he and Kristen. Brady thinks this has proved that Rachel needs therapy. Marlena agrees and says she has the number for a wonderful child therapist named Jillian Shaw. Brady says he’ll call on the way to see Rachel, noting that he and Kristen are going to need all the help they can get with Rachel.

Rachel tells the Woman in White to keep an eye on Ava because she’s very sneaky. She assures that she will take care of Ava and tells Rachel to just concentrate on getting her family back together which she agrees to do as they hang up. The Woman in White then tells Ava that she must be hungry and asks if she wants breakfast. Ava nods. She removes the gag from Ava’s mouth and warns her that screaming will do no good because everyone has thought the house has been haunted for years. Ava questions why Rachel was here. She explains that Rachel came for her help as she just wants her parents back together, so she’s keeping Ava from interfering. Ava asks why she cares and who the hell she is.

Johnny comments to Kristen that it must have been a shock to find out her mother was alive. Kristen talks about how everyone thought she was a ghost and they referred to her as the Woman in White. Kristen talks about how she was frightened and confused after the accident, but eventually got her memories back and she was very grateful to have extra time with her even though it was short lived. Johnny asks what happened. Kristen responds that a couple months after finding her, she and Stefano had a confrontation and the tunnels collapsed. Kristen says that Stefano found a way out but her mother did not.

Shawn assures Chanel that they did not sleep together. Chanel is relieved and asks what did happen. Shawn says after she kissed him, he tried to convince her to let him take her home but she refused because she didn’t want a lecture from her mother, so he brought her to his place, gave her water, his t-shirt, and now coffee.

EJ questions Belle telling a room full of women that he was her biggest regret. Belle explains that it was a game at the bachelorette party where everyone had to say a hookup that they regretted. EJ jokes that in her case, it had nothing to do with not enjoying the hookup. Belle says it was wishing it never happened and adds that Gabi also named EJ. EJ remarks that he didn’t hear any complaints from either of them at the time. Belle says they didn’t want to hurt his feelings. EJ asks if he was so regrettable, why she allowed him to take her home last night. Belle says he offered and she needed a ride. EJ argues that any number of people could have given her a ride and she could have got a taxi. Belle says if she was sober, she would have. EJ thinks she wanted him to take her home because she wanted this to happen. Belle asks EJ if he did or didn’t want this to happen. EJ asks why he’d want to sleep with her when she stole his job. Belle accuses him of seducing her out of revenge. EJ says he didn’t have to do much seducing because she kissed him first. Belle argues that he was the one who started taking her clothes off. EJ says he was caught up in the moment. Belle says she was too and then they start kissing again.

The Woman in White tells Ava that she’s just a woman who believes that families shouldn’t be separated. Ava says she has a family too and talks about her son, Tripp. Ava says he was taken from her when she was born and she wouldn’t wish that torture on her worst enemy, but she found him and now they are spending every moment they can making up for lost time. She responds that her children were taken from her too. Ava asks her to let her go, bringing up that Tripp just got engaged on Christmas and they are going to get married in Hong Kong, so she has to be there because she’s missed so many important moments in his life. She tells Ava that she does feel for her but letting her go would only hurt Rachel and she’s already hurt her so much by coming between her parents which she calls selfish of her. Ava argues that she wasn’t selfish and tried to break things off with Brady but he wouldn’t let her. She suggests that maybe she shouldn’t have let Brady get his way and she should’ve just disappeared, like she’s going to now.

Brady goes to the DiMera Mansion where Johnny tells him that he was glad to hear he and Kristen got Rachel home safe. Brady mentions having to take Rachel to her appointment for therapy. Kristen questions when he was going to tell her. Brady says Marlena had a recommendation so he called on the way over and she had a last minute opening. Kristen says she will clear her schedule to be there. Brady says that’s not necessary and that he can take her himself, but Kristen insists that she wants to be there. Kristen declares that afterwards, she and Brady will sit down and figure out what else they can do to protect their daughter, especially now that child protective services have been contacted, unless he has plans with his girlfriend Ava. Johnny questions Brady dating Ava now. Brady confirms that he is, but he doesn’t have plans with her right now. Brady adds that he will though, as soon as he can reach her.

Chanel tells Shawn that she’s so sorry for coming onto him last night. Shawn understands she’s going through a rough time. Chanel says it was inappropriate and adds that even though she’s furious with Johnny, he is still her husband. Chanel remarks that her wedding vows meant something to her even if they didn’t mean anything to Johnny. Shawn knows it’s none of his business but he doesn’t think that last part is true. Shawn acknowledges that Johnny screwed up, but at the bachelor party, he could tell that Johnny deeply regretted what he did and is miserable. Chanel argues that he should’ve thought about that. Shawn points out that he got drunk and made a mistake. Shawn suggests Chanel focus on the good things in their relationship and the good times she and Johnny had together instead of fixating on the one mistake he made, then she might be able to find it in her heart to forgive him.

EJ and Belle finish having sex again, so EJ asks who is to blame for round two. Belle says it’s obviously him and declares they have made a huge mistake. EJ asks how, arguing that they are consenting adults. Belle remembers when Sami found out about them the first time and asks if EJ wants to face her wrath again. EJ recalls them making jokes about Sami finding out about them and her response, so he questions why she’s so serious about it now. Belle says she never joked about Sami finding out about them and that his memory must be false. EJ says if she can’t handle the potential wrath of Sami, they can call the whole thing off. Belle tells EJ to go ahead and leave then. EJ says he has to tend to an urgent matter anyway. EJ then gets out of bed right as Marlena walks in and catches them together. Marlena questions how Belle could do this and says she doesn’t understand. Belle argues that she’s a grown woman and that she could’ve knocked. Marlena thought she was alone while Belle thought she was at the office. Marlena says she’s working from home and she’s sorry for barging in, but she doesn’t know what to call this. Marlena tells Belle that she’s so disappointed in her as she never thought she would get involved with this amoral man again since she knows how he hurts people including her brother. Marlena declares that if Belle is going to keep seeing EJ, they will not do this in her home. Marlena then storms back out.

Chanel tells Shawn that she does appreciate his take and can tell that his heart is in the right place, but it’s not just the fact that Johnny betrayed her but that he lied to her about it for months. Shawn relates since Belle cheated on him more than once but admits he’s been in Johnny’s shoes too. Chanel remembers hearing about he and Talia which Shawn calls a huge mistake as he hated himself for hurting Belle. Shawn can tell Johnny is carrying around the same guilt, so he can’t help but feel for him too. Chanel points out that Belle and Shawn had such a loving relationship and if they couldn’t make it work, what hope does she and Johnny have. Shawn says there were a lot of factors that led to their divorce and if he thought there was any chance, he would’ve kept fighting for their marriage but there was too much damage done that couldn’t be repaired. Chanel tells Shawn that she’s sorry. Shawn asks if she thinks it’s the same case for her and Johnny. Chanel admits she’s not sure. Shawn thinks she should take his advice then because if there’s even the slightest chance they could work their marriage out, they got to fix it before it’s too late.

Kristen questions Brady being unable to reach Ava and asks if she’s ghosting him. Brady tells her to leave it alone. Kristen suggests maybe Ava needs some space or he was being clingy. Johnny asks when he last heard from Ava. Brady says it was a voicemail but he couldn’t hear it because of the bad reception. Johnny suggests Brady play the voicemail so they can try to figure it out, so he does. Johnny says it sounded urgent but he can’t understand it either. Brady says he’s tried calling back and texted multiple times. Brady mentions that he thought about trying to have Steve enhance the audio, but declares that if he doesn’t hear from Ava soon, he’s going to get the cops involved.

Ava tells the Woman in White that she tried to be reasonable but she’s out of patience. Ava warns that she obviously has no idea who she’s messing with. Ava states that she could have her killed with one phone call. She responds that she used to know a man like her who was very powerful and made all kinds of threats. She says for a long time, she would cower in fear but then one day, she finally stood up to him and realized there was nothing to fear so her threats don’t phase her. Ava says that’s fine because Brady will be coming any moment to rescue her because she left him a voicemail, letting him know that she was coming to pick up Rachel, so he will come running when he listens to it. She points out that Brady hasn’t come yet, so maybe he never will.

Kristen tells Brady that she just cleared her schedule, so they are all ready for Rachel’s appointment. Kristen adds that she thinks Brady is being overdramatic about Ava since she’s tough and she’s sure nothing happened to her. Kristen remarks that she wouldn’t care if Ava dropped off the face of the earth, but she knows she has a thing for Brady, so she hopes nothing happened to her and that she gets in touch soon. Brady says she almost sounded sincere. Kristen jokes that she put a lot of effort in to it.

The Woman in White says she knows Ava is upset about Brady not coming to find her but she still has to eat. Ava questions the food not being poisoned and says she’ll take her chances with starving, so she decides to put the gag back on Ava. Rachel then calls back and tells the woman that they have trouble as Ava left a voicemail for Brady. She says she heard that. Rachel calls it a big problem because Brady just played it for Kristen. She tells Rachel that she will put Ava in another room so they can speak freely and when she comes back, Rachel will tell her exactly what was in the message.

Belle tells EJ how awkward and embarrassing that was. EJ says he’s sorry. Belle says he is too but blames herself for not locking the door. EJ says he would say she’ll know better for next time, but there obviously won’t be a next time.

Chanel returns home to Paulina’s where Johnny is waiting. Chanel asks what he’s doing here and how he got in. Johnny tells her that Paulina let him in and he came by because he was worried about her since she was in bad shape last night and wanted to make sure she was okay. Chanel is surprised Paulina didn’t slam the door in his face. Johnny thinks she saw how concerned he was so she took pity on him. Johnny says that Paulina said she was fine, but he needed to see for himself. Chanel confirms that she is fine, so Johnny says he’s glad to hear that. Johnny then asks Chanel where she has been. Chanel then informs him that she spent the night with Shawn Brady.

Shawn goes to see Marlena and says he was in the area so he asks if it’s a bad time. Marlena says she’s just getting some work done. Shawn says he won’t keep her but he came to return the photos of Rachel that he borrowed from Brady since the search is over. Marlena thanks him and says she’ll make sure he gets them. Shawn then looks past her in the open door and sees Belle in her robe with EJ. Belle tries to explain but Shawn says she doesn’t owe him an explanation as her personal life is none of his business. Shawn then quickly walks away. Marlena turns to Belle and says her personal life is none of her business either, but anyone who comes in to her home is her business and EJ is not welcome here. EJ says he understands and exits.

Johnny questions Chanel sleeping with his cousin, Shawn. Chanel clarifies that they didn’t sleep together, but she did kiss him which she calls a drunken mistake and he did not kiss her back, he just took her home to sleep it off. Johnny guesses he should thank Shawn for looking out for her. Chanel responds that he was looking out for him too since he asked her this morning if there was any chance that she could ever forgive him. Chanel admits that Shawn urged her to forgive him and she told him she wasn’t sure she was ready to do that. Johnny says he understands. Chanel adds that Shawn advised that if she thought there was any chance to save their marriage, she should act on it before it’s too late. Chanel thinks that Shawn was right.

Brady hugs Rachel and tells her it’s so good to see her. Rachel asks if he’s not mad at her anymore. Brady says he’s not happy that she ran away and scared him but he’s very happy that she’s okay and he will always love her no matter what. Rachel asks if they can do something fun like go to the zoo. Kristen reminds Rachel that they are going to therapy today. Rachel brings up that Kristen told her that she could tell her therapist how much she hates Ava which Brady questions. Kristen says that’s what Rachel said and she only said that she would be free to talk about her feelings. Rachel calls it the same thing. Kristen sends Rachel to get her coat. Brady questions Kristen, who insists that’s all she said. Brady then gets a text from Ava’s phone.

The Woman in White tells Ava that she solved her little mystery as she knows why Brady hasn’t come looking for her. Ava asks if he didn’t get her message. She informs her that there was apparently bad reception so he didn’t hear her say she was coming to pick up Rachel. Ava argues that Brady will still come looking for her when she doesn’t show up. She informs Ava that thanks to her big mouth, she was able to help Rachel send the perfect response.

Kristen reads the text on Brady’s phone that came from Ava’s phone, claiming that she just landed in Hong Kong. Kristen guesses she went to visit Tripp and suggests that she left so that Rachel would be inspired to come home. Kristen guesses she’ll be back soon but Brady informs Kristen that the rest of the message says Ava is apparently staying in Hong Kong so she doesn’t come between he and his daughter. Brady then states that Ava is breaking up with him. Rachel listens in from outside the door and declares “mission accomplished”.

At the DiMera Mansion, EJ complains to the portrait of Stefano about the hassle of holding someone captive and how taking care of Rafe is becoming a full time job. EJ remarks that he doesn’t have a job thanks to Jada, but declares that woman will rue the day that she crossed a DiMera. Johnny walks in and questions what woman that would be. EJ says he was just complaining to Stefano about Jada going behind his back and getting him fired. Johnny responds that he would put in a good word for him with Paulina, but he’s not exactly high on her list after what he did to Chanel.

Chanel lays on the couch at Paulina’s, eating popcorn. Paulina comes in and tells Chanel that she is going to Jada’s bachelorette party and tells Chanel to get dressed because she’s coming with her.

Gabi and Stephanie decorate Stephanie’s apartment for Jada’s bachelorette party. Gabi brings out jell-o shots for her and Stephanie to have before the party.

At the police station, Shawn informs Jada that he just finished a report on Rachel and apparently child protective services are getting involved. Jada says what happened was unfortunate but was nobody’s fault. Shawn mentions heading to “Rafe’s” bachelor party. Jada jokes for them not to get too wild. Shawn asks how wild it can get when they are talking about Rafe.

Arnold sits at Rafe’s home with his laptop, looking up adult films until Javi comes home and he shuts the laptop so Javi questions him being so jumpy. Arnold says he’s just anxious about getting married tomorrow. Javi tells him to relax and reveals he’s throwing him a bachelor party tonight. Javi wasn’t sure Rafe would be in to but Arnold talks about his excitement for it and says he wants first lap dances. Arnold, not knowing Javi is gay, asks what kind of hot blooded male wouldn’t want a lap dance from a beautiful woman.

Paulina tells Chanel to get a move on and get dressed because they have a party to attend. Paulina says she’s been watching her moping around for days and crying over Johnny, so she knows she’s still hurting but just sitting around isn’t going to change anything. Paulina urges her to get up and get dressed. Paulina declares that she will get Johnny off Chanel’s mind if it’s the last thing she does.

Johnny tells EJ that Chanel wants nothing to do with him. EJ encourages him not to give up hope, bringing up all the times that he and Sami forgave each other. Johnny questions EJ having a tray of food, which he was bringing down to Rafe. EJ claims that he had Harold make him a light dinner to have in his quarters. Johnny questions EJ eating in his room. EJ claims he’s just mixing things up. Johnny decides to get going as Javi is throwing “Rafe” a bachelor party at the Brady Pub. EJ says he didn’t know about this. Johnny asks why he would since he despises Rafe. EJ says he hired Rafe for a job and argues that he should be focused on the task. Johnny says Rafe deserves a day to let loose but notes that Rafe is not known as a party animal. EJ then tells Johnny to have fun as Johnny exits. EJ remarks to himself that the last thing he needs is for Arnold to let loose in front of Rafe’s friends and family because one drunken slip of the tongue could ruin everything.

Javi asks “Rafe” if he forgot he was gay. Arnold says he didn’t and suggests that tonight, he should just go with the flow. Javi remarks that stranger things have happened. Arnold says he’s going to shower and get ready for tonight as he can’t wait for some quality lap time and to get hammered which Javi calls weird.

Jada comments that with Shawn being newly single, she’s sure he’d be up for a wild party. Shawn says it’s Rafe’s big night, so they will go at his speed. Jada calls Rafe the most loving and loyal guy that she could ever want and says how good it feels to know exactly where she stands at all times, especially after some of her past relationships. Belle arrives and greets them. Belle informs Jada that she was sent to escort her to her bachelorette party. Belle sends Jada to her office to change clothes. Shawn tells Belle that she looks great. Belle thanks him and asks what he’s doing tonight. Shawn informs her that he’s about to head to Rafe’s bachelor party and he thinks it should be fun. Belle says she’s really happy for Jada and Rafe. Shawn says he is too and guesses he will see Belle at the wedding tomorrow then. Belle goes to see if Jada needs any help.

Paulina and Chanel arrive for Jada’s bachelorette party. Paulina says Chanel needs some cheering up as she and Johnny are going through a rough patch. Chanel complains about her putting her business out there. Paulina is sure Stephanie and Gabi know what it’s like to be cheated on. Stephanie assures Chanel that they have her back. Chanel thanks them and wishes her husband was as loyal as her friends.

Johnny joins Steve at the Brady Pub for Rafe’s bachelor party and asks where everyone is. Steve says they should be there soon and notes that Javi said “Rafe” was still getting ready. Johnny asks if Roman is in the back but Steve reveals that Roman is in Chicago, visiting Rex, so he left him in charge. Steve asks Johnny what’s going on and if he’s okay. Johnny says he’s fine but was hoping to talk to Roman as he could use some advice. Steve says he’s not his Grandpa, but he is a good listener. Steve adds that he and Kayla had dinner with Abe and Paulina the other night, so they saw Chanel. Johnny guesses he knows how badly he messed up then. Johnny thinks he really blew it and he doesn’t know if Chanel will ever be able to forgive him. Steve says they all make mistakes but a mistake doesn’t have to mean the end of their marriage. Steve tells Johnny that he can ask Kayla about how many times he screwed up. Johnny asks how they came out on the other side. Steve says they trusted in the power of their love, no matter how stupid he was to take it for granted.

Chanel starts drinking at the bachelorette party while Paulina advises her to pace herself. Belle and Jada then arrive. Jada says she’s ready to turn up tonight and takes her first shot.

Shawn goes to the Brady Pub and tells Steve and Johnny that he expected something more rowdy. Steve encourages that they will get there. Arnold and Javi then arrive. Arnold declares it’s a party for him and it’s anything goes. EJ then arrives, surprising them. Johnny reminds EJ that the Pub is closed for Rafe’s bachelor party. EJ asks why he wouldn’t want to raise a toast to Rafe. Steve and Shawn point out that they hate each others’ guts. EJ says he won’t deny they have had their clashes, but they are trying to turn a corner. Shawn calls that hardly a ringing endorsement. EJ then informs Shawn that he’s hired “Rafe” to investigate on his behalf and he’s come for a progress report. Steve questions that being true. Arnold confirms that it’s true and says EJ hired him to track down Sloan. Arnold asks if that’s a problem. Steve argues that he can’t just take on new cases without running it by him first. Arnold doesn’t see what the big deal is. Steve argues that it’s he and John’s name on the door, not Rafe’s, and it’s never a good idea to get involved with the DiMeras. Arnold tells Steve to chill out. Steve asks “Rafe” to tell him he understands or they will have a real problem here.

Chanel gets drunk and starts talking to the inflatable pool float while the girls continue drinking. Stephanie wonders if the guys are having as much fun as they are. Chanel says to hell with all the guys and pops the pool float.

Arnold asks Steve if they have a problem while Javi and Shawn break it up. Javi reminds them that this is supposed to be a party. Shawn takes Steve to go check on the food and suggests Johnny see if EJ has somewhere else to be. Steve complains that EJ is just trying to start trouble and that “Rafe” is playing right in to it. Johnny tells EJ that maybe it would be a good idea if he found somewhere else to go. EJ calls that nonsense and says “Rafe” is fine having him there. Arnold agrees to let EJ stay. Johnny tells “Rafe” that it’s his night and goes to join Shawn and Steve while Javi decides he will go check on the entertainment and exits the Pub. Arnold then tells EJ that he’s ruining his night. EJ reminds Arnold that this party is for Rafe, not him. Arnold argues that he has Rafe’s face. EJ warns him that Steve is a professional sleuth, so if anyone could figure it out, it’s him. Arnold blows it off that Steve didn’t spot anything. Arnold argues that EJ is the one screwing things up as he didn’t have to tell Steve that he’s working for him. EJ explains that he had to have a reason to attend a party for someone he detests. Arnold remarks that he just can’t wait for the strippers. EJ tells Arnold he’s not paying him for that and to focus on his mission, which is to help him get back at Jada.

Chanel tells Paulina that she’s just blowing off some steam while Paulina tries to keep her calm. Stephanie calls for a game where each card has a personal question and you either answer honestly or take a shot. Stephanie goes first and it says name a hookup you regret. Stephanie goes first, naming Jeremy Horton as a world class dirtbag and then decides to take a shot anyway. Stephanie asks the question to Paulina, who says 50 Cent and that they ran in the same circles in Miami. Jada doesn’t think she would regret that because 50 Cent is fine. Paulina clarifies that she doesn’t regret anything as they had a fabulous time, but she just regrets what happened after as he wouldn’t stop blowing up her pager. Paulina jokes that she knows she’s hard to get over. Jada and Gabi praise Paulina for that while Stephanie says they should’ve used that in her campaign. Stephanie then turns to Belle, who says she can’t follow that and takes a shot. Stephanie asks Jada about a hookup she regrets. Jada responds that it was actually her first time in high school and they went to band camp. Jada says it was sweet until the guy went around and told everyone at the camp that they hooked up. Jada tells Gabi that she’s next. Gabi says that’s easy, EJ DiMera. Jada is surprised to learn that Gabi hooked up with EJ. Gabi explains that she was trying to get back at Stefan for sleeping with Ava while she was in prison. Chanel shouts that every DiMera is a cheater. Gabi calls it a huge mistake that completely ruined her marriage. They then toast to saying screw EJ. Stephanie goes back to Belle and insists on her giving an answer. Belle jokes that Gabi stole her thunder as she reveals her most regrettable hookup was also with EJ. Belle explains that it was when she and Shawn were separated and she thought they had something, but her sister Sami showed up, freaked out, and scared EJ away which made him go on about how Belle meant nothing to him. Gabi remarks that EJ has no conscience for going after his ex’s sister. Chanel thanks the rest of the group for not hooking up with her father-in-law. Gabi then tells Chanel it’s her turn, so Chanel says that’s easy, her husband Johnny who she calls every bit as nasty as his father EJ.

EJ asks if Arnold is listening to him. Arnold assures that he knows what to do. EJ warns that he’s starting lose his patience. Steve, Johnny, and Shawn then return from the kitchen with the food. Javi comes back in and says he couldn’t get in touch with the entertainment but suggests they play darts while they wait. A woman dressed as a cop then arrives and declares play time is over for one of them.

Chanel talks about thinking Johnny was the love of her life, but he shattered her heart when he cheated on her with Joy. Chanel says she should’ve known when he got possessed by the Devil, that he was not the one for her. Jada questions what is going on. Stephanie decides the party needs a change of scenery and suggests they hit the road.

Steve, Shawn, and Johnny try to explain the bachelor party to the woman while she says she’s there to arrest “Rafe” for identity theft, worrying EJ and Arnold. She then declares it’s because he’s claiming to be a married man when he’s not for one more night and removes her outfit, revealing to be the stripper that Javi hired. EJ breathes a sigh of relief while Arnold gets excited.

Stephanie calls a car for the girls. Jada asks where they are going. Stephanie says they will see. Paulina tells them to go ahead while she gets Chanel home since she wasn’t up for this. Chanel argues that she doesn’t want to go home and she’s just starting to have fun. Paulina argues that she’s still hurting. Chanel remarks that the night is young and free and so is she, so she asks Stephanie where they are going.

Arnold gets a lap dance from the stripper until the girls arrive at the Pub and interrupt. Arnold tries to explain but Jada tells “Rafe” to calm down as they know what happens at bachelor parties so he can finish his lap dance. Arnold tells Jada that he’d rather have a lap dance from her. Gabi questions what the hell EJ is doing there. EJ says he could ask her the same thing. Gabi warns EJ not to ruin the night for her brother. Gabi then joins Javi at the bar. Shawn asks Belle what happened to the bachelorette party. Belle jokes that someone had to make sure the boys were behaving. Johnny greets Chanel, who tells him that she doesn’t have to tell him her plans anymore. Chanel mocks Johnny’s wedding vows and tells him that he is Joy’s problem now. Chanel then takes Johnny’s beer, drinks it, and smashes the bottle on the floor. Chanel storms out of the Pub. Paulina wants to go after her but Shawn says he will go since he’s the one who is completely sober and he knows about letting anger and alcohol get the better of you. Paulina thanks him as Shawn then goes after Chanel. Jada tells “Rafe” that as much fun as tonight has been, she thinks they should go home so they aren’t hung over for their wedding day tomorrow. Arnold informs her that he already got a room at the Salem Inn since they aren’t supposed to be together before the wedding and says it will make their wedding night all the more special. Jada comments on him being old fashioned and admits she’s not thrilled to spend the night away from each other, but she’ll allow it if it makes tomorrow as special as they want it. Jada hugs Arnold as EJ watches on.

Steve brings Stephanie home and says it looks like the ladies had a good time. Stephanie says she will be paying for it tomorrow. Stephanie worries about cleaning up but Steve says it can wait. Steve sits her down and asks what’s up as he wants to make sure she’s okay after her break up with Philip. Stephanie feels like she’s been defeated. Steve encourages her to not let one bad experience cause her to give up on bad love. Stephanie reminds him that this is her second time with Philip, not to mention Chad, Everett, and all the other failed relationships. Steve tells her to forget about those guys and assures that there is someone out there that is as perfect for her as Kayla is for him. Steve tells Stephanie that one day, she will find him and have her own bachelorette party and he will walk her down the aisle. Stephanie thanks him and says she needed to hear that.

EJ brings Belle home. Belle says he did not need to drive her home or walk her to the door. EJ feels she had a lot to drink. Belle disagrees, says she only had six jell-o shots and that she could have called a rideshare. EJ points out that his driver was already waiting outside the Pub. Belle mocks him and says she doesn’t think he’s a gentleman at all. EJ asks what her problem is with him. EJ says if anyone had a reason to be upset, it’d be him because she stole his job. Belle complains that EJ ghosted her after Sami found out about them. EJ asks if that’s what this is about and if she went after the district attorney position because she hadn’t gotten over him yet. Belle argues that the only person who hasn’t gotten over him is himself. Belle tells EJ to get the hell out of her house. EJ feels he struck a nerve. Belle calls him smug and says she doesn’t know what she ever saw in him but then they start kissing.

Shawn finds Chanel, dancing at the bar. Shawn says he came to get her home safe but Chanel says she doesn’t want to go home, she wants to dance. Chanel dances and tells Shawn that she plans on getting more drunk and who knows where the night will take them. Chanel then grabs Shawn and kisses him.

Javi and Gabi bring Jada home. Jada drunkenly praises them. Javi says he’s just glad she had fun and that she wasn’t too upset walking in on the stripper. Jada jokes that the stripper may have had one dance with “Rafe” but she gets to spend her whole life with him. Jada talks about how lucky she is and says she better get to her room to get some sleep so she can be fresh for her wedding day tomorrow. Jada declares that in a few short hours, she will be Mrs. Rafe Hernandez.

Arnold goes to his room at the Salem Inn and continues drinking until the stripper shows up at his door. Arnold says to get the party started as they start kissing onto the bed.

Leo sits at the bar, working on his scripts for Body and Soul until Javi shows up to join him.

Holly goes to see Doug III at the Horton House. He mentions looking for a job so he can start paying her back and asks if she’s okay. Holly says not really, so Doug III guesses it’s about the girl that Tate got pregnant.

Tate joins Sophia at the Brady Pub as they talk about the search for Rachel. Tate mentions waiting for Brady to call if there’s any news but he hasn’t heard anything.

Brady goes back to his phone and listens to Ava’s voicemail but it was distorted and cuts out. Brady wonders what Ava was trying to tell him.

Ava goes to the house that Rachel gave her the address to and finds Rachel’s stuffed animal snake. The Woman in White helps Rachel knock out Ava from behind and remarks that it was even easier than she thought and that it looks like Ava won’t be coming between Rachel’s parents anymore.

Leo and Javi talk about when they first met at the bar. They recall the drinks they each had and how things got crazy between them for awhile. Javi declares that all that matters is that they found their way back to each other.

Brady tries calling Ava back but she doesn’t answer.

The Woman in White picks up Ava’s phone and tells Rachel that Brady is calling, so Rachel asks what to do. She responds that they just won’t answer it.

Brady leaves a message for Ava, saying there must have been a bad connection because he couldn’t hear the rest and asks if it’s about Rachel.

Holly explains to Doug III that she was with Tate, trying to help find his missing sister who ran away. Doug III says he’s sorry as that’s terrible but he’s surprised she isn’t still with Tate. Holly adds that they were trying to get the word out on social media but then Sophia showed up unannounced and dropped the huge bombshell that her mom won’t let her give the baby up for adoption, so she guesses that means Sophia and Tate have to raise the baby together and that’s why she’s not still with Tate now.

Tate suggests to Sophia that they split up and says he’ll stay at the Pub while she goes home but Sophia thinks they’ll get more done together. Sophia adds that they need to talk about what happened because she’s been thinking about the whole adoption thing. Sophia says her mother will never agree to it, but asks what if they do it anyway.

Leo talks to Javi about writing a wedding scene for Body and Soul while Javi complains that he’s planning an actual wedding since Rafe and Jada are to get married in 16 days. They talk about Rafe not having a best man and realizing that Javi has to plan the bachelor party too. Javi talks about how he’s never been to a bachelor party. Leo suggests reserving the bar or the Brady Pub and says it will just be a bunch of guys sitting around drinking so they won’t care where they are as long as there’s a stripper. Javi questions where to get a stripper. Leo says that’s where he comes in. Leo goes to his phone but sees that Doug III left him a message that he missed. Leo listens to the voicemail from Doug III, saying he paid his debts thanks to a friend’s loan and says he wants to pay back the people of Salem who have been so good to him and asking for Leo’s help again because he wants to get the diamond necklace back to Julie.

Doug III encourages Holly that maybe things aren’t as bad as she thinks and it’s not guaranteed that Sophia and Tate are going to raise the baby together. Holly still feels they will be tied to each other for the next 18 years. Doug III thinks she might be getting ahead of herself. Holly says when she first found out that Sophia was pregnant, she tried to be understanding and hopeful since they didn’t mean for it to happen and were going to get an abortion but when Sophia’s mom found out, now she’s actually having the baby and her mom didn’t approve of adoption either so it’s like it will never be over. Holly worries that next, Tate will tell her he has to marry Sophia after all.

Tate questions Sophia as to how they will give the baby up for adoption without her mother’s approval. Sophia points out that she will be 18 by the time the baby is born, so they could just go make the arrangements without her mother knowing. Tate doesn’t think that’s a good plan. Sophia argues that only they would know about it. Tate points out that her parents will find out, reminding her that her mom freaked out about Sophia going to her doctor’s appointment without her. Tate asks what will happen if she goes to the hospital while 9 months pregnant and doesn’t come home with a baby.

Brady goes to the DiMera Mansion and tells Kristen that JJ told him there’s no news to report on Rachel. Brady asks if she got any rest. Kristen says she’s still too worked up and mentions talking with EJ. Brady asks if she’s a glutton for punishment. Kristen tells him that EJ was actually great and that they have their moments sometimes which surprises Brady. Kristen explains that EJ wanted to let her know that he’s doing everything he can to find Rachel and that they are still family even if not related by blood.

Rachel asks The Woman in White if Ava is dead. She checks her pulse and confirms that Ava is very much alive. She declares that now Ava is out of the way, so there’s nothing to stop Rachel’s parents from getting together again.

Sophia insists to Tate that it could work if they don’t tell her parents about the adoption until after the baby is born and there’s nothing they can do about it but yell, pointing out that they can’t interfere with the adoption since she will be over 18. Tate worries that her parents will be extremely upset and angry. Sophia says she’s used to that. Tate asks what if her parents decide not to pay for her college. Sophia suggests getting a loan or a scholarship. Tate feels it’s a disaster waiting to happen. Sophia insists she can handle it and that her parents can disown her for all she cares. Tate brings up that Sophia said her mom doesn’t want the baby raised by strangers and asks what if they weren’t strangers and they found a perfect couple who wanted to adopt and they got to know them. Tate adds that Sophia’s mom could end up liking and trusting the couple. Sophia can’t imagine her mom liking anyone who isn’t religious, so Tate says they will make sure they are religious. Tate brings up how his uncle Eric used to be a priest so maybe he can put them in touch with some couples, feeling Sophia’s mom could change her mind if she knows the baby will be raised in a good Christian home.

Javi asks Leo what necklace Doug III is talking about. Leo admits he probably shouldn’t have played that message out loud while Javi says it’s too late, so he has to spill. Leo explains that he was doing Doug III a favor, but technically it might have been illegal, so the less he knows the better, especially since he’s planning a wedding for the police commissioner. Javi worries about if he’s going to be visiting him in jail. Leo tells him to just focus on planning an unforgettable bachelor party and says the more alcohol, the better. Javi calls out to Leo not to forget about the stripper as Leo exits the bar.

Holly tells Doug III that she’s sorry for dumping her trauma on him again. He understands she’s dealing with a lot and it’s not fair to her. Doug III encourages her as they get close.

Kristen explains to Brady that she and EJ were talking about her biological family and he was curious about her upbringing. Kristen mentions that she went to show EJ her scrapbook but the book isn’t on the shelf anymore. Kristen says she didn’t do it and Harold didn’t, so she wants to know who took the book off the shelf. Brady suggests it could’ve been Rachel and it could be a clue to where she might be. Kristen agrees that it’s a shot and decide they should go check in her hometown.

Rachel asks The Woman in the White if she thinks her parents will get back together now. She says the path is now cleared. Rachel asks what will happen when Ava wakes up because she doesn’t want things to go back how they were. She tells Rachel that they will have to come up with a plan to make sure Ava doesn’t prevent her from getting her family back together.

Doug III and Holly are interrupted by the doorbell ringing. He goes to answer the door and Leo comes in, saying he just got his message about the necklace. Leo then sees Holly and tries to cover but Doug III says it’s okay as Holly knows everything. Leo questions if anyone else is in on it. Doug III assures that Julie isn’t home. Leo talks about getting the necklace back but insists it will cost even more to get it back. Doug III doesn’t know what he was thinking since he doesn’t have a dime to his name. Leo asks how he did come up with the money. Doug III says it was all thanks to Holly, so he definitely wants to pay her back first but Holly tells him not to worry about that. Doug III insists she will come first when he starts making money, so he needs to find a job. Leo then invites Doug III to come work for him.

Sophia tells Tate that her mother never changes her mind and seems hellbent on keeping the baby in their family. Sophia acknowledges the potential of her mother getting to know the couple. Tate excitedly says this could be the answer for all of them while Sophia could go off to college. Sophia admits that her mom could agree to it, so it might work. She asks how he even came up with this idea and calls it kind of brilliant. Tate says that’s only if it works. Sophia says she’s actually hopeful for the first time since her mother found out about the baby, so now all they have to do is find the perfect couple.

Brady and Kristen go to Kristen’s childhood home, looking for Rachel. Kristen comments that it looks like no one has been there for ages. Brady and Kristen then uncover Rachel under a sheet and rejoice. Rachel asks what they are doing there. They say they were looking for her. Rachel questions them doing it together. Brady and Kristen see that she did take Kristen’s scrapbook. Rachel asks how else she would find the place. Brady and Kristen worry about Rachel being alone and how anything could have happened to her, but Rachel responds that she wasn’t alone, leaving them confused. Ava’s unconscious body is covered under a sheet nearby in the room.

Sophia tells Tate that she should get home but it’s good that they talked. Sophia tells Tate to text her if there’s any news on Rachel which he agrees to do. Tate assures her that everything will be okay and they will figure out whatever they do together. Tate hugs her as Sophia repeats that she couldn’t get through this without him.

Leo tells Doug III that he could use an assistant. Doug III argues that he doesn’t know anything about writing or soap operas. Leo admits it is complicated but all he needs to know is that they tell love stories which Holly claims he does know about. Leo tells Doug III that he could use the help since he’s drowning in scripts. Doug III agrees it sounds amazing and thanks him. He adds that it might take time, but he can finally start paying Holly back. Leo points out how Holly stood up for him and suggests he could give Doug III an advance.

Brady questions Rachel saying she wasn’t alone. Rachel claims she just meant her stuffed animal snake. Kristen tells Rachel that she’s in serious trouble and they will talk about it at home as she orders Rachel to pack. Kristen tells Brady that she can’t believe this as they then take Rachel and exit the house. Rachel then says she forgot something and goes back inside where The Woman in White comes out from hiding. Rachel tells her that her parents found her. She tells Rachel that the plan can still work and gives her Ava’s phone while saying she will take care of Ava.

Leo returns to Javi at the bar and tells him that it’s all arranged with the stripper. Javi asks about his necklace situation. Leo thinks it’s all working out and everything is coming up roses. Javi asks if he was able to help the kid out. Leo says he did what he could. Javi says he’s lucky to have Leo looking out for him. Leo says maybe but feels he’s not Doug III’s only guardian angel…

Holly congratulates Doug III on getting a job and says it was super nice of Leo considering he hardly knows him. Doug III remarks that he’s not the only new person in his life that’s been nice to him. Holly then gets a call from Tate, announcing that Brady just called to tell him that they found Rachel. Holly says that’s amazing. Tate tells Holly that he’s sorry about before and asks if they can talk. Holly says she’s not busy and will be right there as she hangs up.

Brady and Kristen bring Rachel home. Kristen informs Rachel that she will be getting three weeks without cable or wi-fi, but says she will have Cook make her a meal and goes to the kitchen. Rachel invites Brady to stay which he accepts. Brady tells Rachel that her little stunt is not going to put he and Kristen back together. Brady knows she thinks that will happen but she has to understand that Ava is a big part of his life now and there’s nothing she can do to change that…

The Woman in White ties Ava up and pushes her in a chair.

At the Bistro, Brady tells Ava that he tried to put on a brave face for Kristen and assure her that everything will be alright, but admits he’s worried about Rachel being out there, sad, angry, and alone. Brady feels guilty because they drove Rachel to do this and worries that they failed as parents and didn’t love her enough. Brady worries that Rachel felt she had to do this to get their attention. Brady just wants her to come home. Ava hugs him and assures that she will be okay. Brady apologizes for leaning on Ava but Ava says she wants him to as she’s there for him. Brady thanks her but notes that Kristen wouldn’t be very happy that they are together like this. Ava responds that Kristen doesn’t need to know.

Kristen remains in the living room of the DiMera Mansion and looks at a photo of her and Rachel on her phone. Kristen complains that she needs Rachel to come back to her and the police have been predictably useless with no leads on where Rachel could be. Kristen looks to the portrait of Stefano and says he wouldn’t sit around if his family was in danger, so she won’t either. Kristen then heads towards the tunnels but EJ walks in and stops her, questioning what the hell she is doing.

Marlena is in her office finishing a call as Cat arrives. Cat says she’s sorry to bother her but the front desk said she was on break, so she wanted to ask if she talked to Kayla about hiring her as her assistant. Marlena says she hasn’t had time yet. Cat worries that she changed her mind. Marlena assures it’s not that but that there’s a lot going on and they are in a bit of a crisis as her granddaughter has gone missing.

Chad’s at home, making calls about putting Rachel’s picture on the front page and amber alerts sent out. JJ comes in and tells Chad that they had a false alarm about a girl hit by a car but other than that, he’s got nothing as if Rachel disappeared in to thin air…

Rachel arrives in a big room with old furniture covered by sheets and says it’s not how she imagined it. A woman then enters the room and startles Rachel.

JJ tells Chad that they’ve gone over the security footage from the DiMera Mansion and it’s like Rachel went out the front door and there’s been no sign of her since. JJ points out that she couldn’t have gotten far with little money and they are trying to cover every angle, but Jada insisted he come home to take a break and go back out later with fresh eyes. Chad says he’s been using the Spectator to get the word out and feels somebody had to have seen something. JJ says the only tips they have gotten have not led anywhere. Chad says he feels so bad for Kristen because her daughter is her life.

Kristen complains to EJ that her daughter is missing and she’s not going to sit around doing nothing like the police are, so she’s going to start her search in the tunnels. EJ stops her and says there’s no need to look there because the security footage showed Rachel leave through the front door, not the tunnels. EJ says he’s torn apart every inch underground and assures there’s no sign of Rachel down there. Kristen asks where the hell Rachel is then.

Cat tells Marlena that she’s so sorry as she saw the amber alert but had no idea it was her granddaughter. Cat asks if there’s any leads or if they know what happened. Marlena says they think she ran away and the police are out looking everywhere for her, but it’s hard not to worry that she might find some danger all by herself.

Rachel questions who the woman is. She responds that Rachel is the one trespassing so she asks who she is. Rachel introduces herself and reveals that Kristen’s mother used to live here. She questions what Rachel is doing in her house. Rachel says she ran away from home. The woman says her parents must be worried. Rachel says she wants them to be worried which the woman questions. Rachel calls it a long story, so the woman says she has nothing but time.

Chad informs JJ that Cat Green is back in town. JJ thought she was going back to Vancouver to be with her mother. Chad explains that her brother Aaron decided to stay while Cat came back to be with their sister Felicity, so she’s going to be living in Salem. JJ responds that he hopes he never runs in to her. Chad notes that might be tricky because she may have just got a job at the hospital as Marlena’s assistant.

Marlena tells Cat that she’s sorry she hasn’t been able to talk to Kayla about her yet. Cat says she completely understands. Marlena explains that she’s been preoccupied trying to reach her husband as John doesn’t know Rachel is missing yet and she hasn’t been able to tell him that he didn’t hurt Catharina either. Cat guesses John is away on business. Marlena knows if John was there, he’d be able to find Rachel and bring her home safe.

Ava tells Brady that she understands Kristen was concerned about her involvement in this, but she still feels partly responsible for Rachel’s disappearance. Brady tells her not to say that and that even Kristen admitted Ava was not to blame. Brady thinks he and Kristen are both frustrated that they know they are to blame. Brady argues that Rachel should’ve been in therapy a long time ago and that he should’ve been firmer and not letting her get whatever she wants. Ava encourages that he couldn’t have known Rachel would take it this far regardless. Brady feels he should’ve predicted that her reaction to her parents not getting back together would be bad. Brady says when Rachel comes home, she will think everything is going to be fine but he will have to tell her that her parents are never getting back together. Brady states that he just wants her to come home.

EJ tries to calm Kristen down as she cries that she just wants her daughter. Kristen says she feels so powerless in all of this. EJ encourages that DiMeras are never powerless and tells her all that he has doing to help bring Rachel home, including putting out a reward. EJ tells Kristen that she is a DiMera, even if she was born a Blake, as Stefano regarded her and Peter as his children. EJ jokes that Kristen was the one who took after Stefano the most. Kristen says her mother would be so disappointed to hear her say that as she was always trying to appeal to her better angels. Kristen says she just wanted Rachel to grow up more like a Blake and that’s why she named her after her mother.

Rachel tells the woman about Brady and Kristen and Ava. The woman agrees with Rachel that Ava is standing in the way of her parents being together, so Rachel needs to get her out of the picture permanently.

Cat tells Marlena that she knew a little bit about John’s past because of his connection to her mother. Marlena says that John doesn’t like to talk about it and he’s lived many different lives. Marlena recalls first thinking he was her presumed dead husband, Roman Brady. Cat recalls meeting Roman at the Pub. Cat goes over how Roman was Marlena’s husband and John was impersonating him but now John is her husband. Cat says they were obviously innocent victims unlike her situation with Chad. Marlena feels she was a victim of circumstance. Cat feels she broke Chad’s heart in the worst way, so she can’t imagine he could ever get past that.

JJ can’t believe Marlena would give Cat a job after what she did to their family. Chad points out the circumstances while JJ argues that Chad almost died, so he questions how Chad could defend her. Chad points out that Gabi did terrible things to their family but JJ has no problem dating her. JJ calls that completely different. Chad brings up what Gabi did to Julie. JJ questions if Chad’s saying he doesn’t want him to see Gabi. Chad clarifies that he’s not telling JJ who to associate with, so he would expect the same courtesy. Julie comes in to the room, so JJ asks if she knew Cat Green was staying in town and that Chad has no problem with it. Julie declares that nothing matters to her anymore and exits the room, leaving Chad and JJ confused.

Ava brings Brady a dinner plate at the Bistro. Ava recalls running away from home when she was Rachel’s age because her dad used to beat up her mom, so she thought her disappearance would shock some sense back in to him but it just made it worse. Ava talks about trying to get her mom to leave because she knew eventually her father would take it too far with a beating she would not come back from which ended up happening.

EJ tells Kristen that he never knew the reasons behind her naming Rachel after her mother. Kristen feels that she failed in raising Rachel in her mother’s image. EJ says from what he knows, Kristen’s mom was a badass. Kristen says it’s sad that she wasn’t able to be a mother very long and that she hated Stefano for taking her and Peter away. Kristen talks about how her mother tried to kill Stefano, but he survived while her mother was not so lucky.

Rachel tells the woman about how she sent Ava texts to get her to go away but Kristen took her phone and tried putting her in therapy. She tells Rachel that she doesn’t need therapy, she needs to get Ava out of the way and declares they are going to do that together.

JJ asks Chad if they should follow Julie. Chad doesn’t think so but admits he’s worried. Julie comes back with tea and mentions that she’s hardly sleeping at all. Chad asks if she thought about talking to Marlena. Julie responds that she did but it’s not going to bring Doug back. Julie insists that she will eventually be fine so they don’t have to worry about her. Chad says they are worried and asks what the harm is in talking to Marlena, noting that if it doesn’t work, she can just stop going. JJ adds that Doug would want her to feel better. Chad agrees that Doug would want her to be happy and start living her life again which Marlena can help her do. Chad asks Julie to do it for them because they love her and need her to take care of herself. Julie agrees that Doug would say all those things and thanks them. Julie decides maybe she’ll call Marlena tomorrow but Chad suggests she get dressed and he will take her over there now.

Marlena tells Cat that Chad is a very kind and compassionate man. Cat agrees but feels being nice to her is one thing but having feelings for her is an entirely different situation.

Brady tells Ava that he’s really sorry as he had no idea she went through all that. Ava says she meant to encourage him about Rachel coming home and not turn it in to a sob story. Brady thanks her for sharing with him. Ava says Rachel is the issue now and urges Brady to eat and get some sleep. Brady agrees that he should get some rest and thanks Ava for listening.

Kristen tells EJ that Rachel never got to know her family but she told her stories about the town and their summer home there, including the ghosts that she and Peter were sure were in the attic. Kristen tells EJ that she has a scrapbook about the old town and goes to show EJ but finds it is gone.

The woman tells Rachel what they are going to do and instructs Rachel to use the rotary phone to call Ava which she does. Rachel tells Ava that she needs help and she couldn’t reach her parents so she has to come straight away. Ava asks where she is and grabs a pen.

Marlena questions Cat having romantic feelings for Chad. Cat explains that her feelings evolved while she was pretending to Abigail. Cat says she knows nothing could come of it and she’s been trying to avoid Chad and bury her feelings. Chad then arrives with Julie.

The woman tells Rachel that she did a great job and they make an excellent team. She talks about being glad Rachel visited here and asks how she ended up here tonight. Rachel reveals the scrapbook and how she read about Kristen, her brother Peter, and their mother Rachel Blake. Rachel asks what the woman’s name is. She responds that she could just call her The Woman in White.

Kristen is confused by the missing scrapbook and says she just saw it the other day and she would be really heartbroken if she lost it as it’s all she has of her mother.

Ava calls Brady and leaves a message that he needs to call her back immediately as she knows where Rachel is and she’s heading there now.

JJ goes to see Brady and says he couldn’t stop thinking about Rachel so he came to see if he got any news. Brady says he’s been waiting for his phone to ring. His phone lies on the table with a missed call from Ava.

Julie begins therapy with Marlena and explains that she’s not here on her own but she gave up arguing with Chad because he was insistent on her seeing Marlena. Marlena asks if she doesn’t think this will help. Julie admits coming in and seeing Cat was a surprise. Marlena apologizes but Julie understands Marlena is a doctor and committed to helping everybody. Julie calls Marlena her friend and she understands that psychoanalysis works, but argues that she’s not sick, she’s just a widow who lost the love of her life and is terribly sad. Julie thinks that’s just normal. Marlena agrees. Julie says time healing all wounds just won’t work for her because she doesn’t want to stop thinking about Doug. Julie cries about their love and asks who cares if she can’t sleep or move on with her life. Julie declares that all she has left are the memories of Doug and she doesn’t want to lose that. Marlena says she understands. Julie thinks launching in to therapy would be a terrible waste of their time. Marlena assures that Julie could never waste her time. Marlena knows Julie is only there to appease Chad, but thinks they should try a session and if it doesn’t work, they never have to do it again. Julie agrees and asks what harm it can do.

Cat tells Chad that she really didn’t mean to upset Julie. Chad says it’s his fault for not realizing she could’ve started her new job already. Cat explains that Marlena still needs to talk to Kayla about hiring her first. Chad asks what Cat was there for then. Cat says Marlena was just getting her talking about her feelings.

EJ tells Kristen that he hates to leave her at a time like this but he has pressing matters to attend to. Kristen says she’ll be fine. EJ asks where the hell Brady is. Kristen says he said he had to go home to shower but it’s probably a cover up to spend more time with Ava. EJ asks if they are still an item. Kristen mocks them being Salem’s hottest couple and says she detests Ava. Kristen blames Ava for Rachel running away and declares that if Ava wasn’t in the picture, none of this would happening while she and Brady would be together.

Brady thanks JJ for checking in and says he’ll let him know if he hears anything. JJ then exits. Brady goes back to his phone and listens to Ava’s voicemail but it was distorted and cuts out.

Ava goes to the house that Rachel gave her the address to and finds Rachel’s stuffed animal snake. The woman in white helps Rachel knock out Ava from behind and remarks that it was even easier than she thought.
