Ridge: I’m not complaining. I’m good. Giacomo, good to see you again, brother.

Giacomo: It’s been much long time.

Ridge: Yes it has.

Associate: We are excited to preview the new hope for the future collection.

Steffy: Hope and thomas exceeded expectations. We’re all very excited.

Hope: We are so delighted that you all could be here.

Imma: Word is that your design is to divine.

Thomas: Well, I hope you agree.

Imma: Oh, sure.

Carter: Hope and thomas have outdone themselves, if I say so myself.

Ridge: All right, everyone, I would like to thank you for your support over the years, past and present. We’ve got some great memories here and we’re gonna try and make some more. All right. Salute!

Liam: All right, here you go. Safe and sound.

Finn: Perfect. Yeah, kelly loves these. She’s gonna be happy to have them back.

Liam: Yeah. So, yeah. Kids gonna be all right with steffy out of town?

Finn: Well, yeah, I, um, traded a few shifts so I could be home. And my mom and uh, taylor are gonna help out, so I think we’ll be all right.

Liam: Yeah.

Finn: I think, uh, I’m gonna be the one missing my wife the most. That’s not something you’re gonna have to deal with though. Unless you’re having second thoughts about joining hope in rome.

Liam: No, no, not at all, man. You and rj convinced me. I think– I think me joining hope in rome is– is– exactly what I need right now. I mean, she’s been working hard, she’s reviving hope for the future. This is the beginning of that payoff and, you know, I wanna celebrate her, but not through like emojis. You know, I wanna be there, face-to-face, in person. So, yeah. No, I’m– I’m going to rome.

Donna: Hey, guys.

Liam: Hey, guys. How are you?

Eric: Dr. Finn is here.

Liam: He’s here.

Finn: Good to see you.

Eric: Liam, uh, I got– hi. I– I got your message, what is it?

Donna: Yeah, it seemed kind of urgent? Is everything okay?

Liam: Uh, well, it’s gonna be very okay, if you say yes.

Eric: If we say yes to what?

Liam: Um, would you be able to watch the kids for a few days?

Donna: What? Yeah, of course.

Liam: Really?

Donna: Yeah, but what’s going on? What?

Liam: I’m going to surprise, hope. I’m going to rome.

Hope: It’s actually starting to feel real.

Thomas: I know. I– I’m just, I’m so glad we decided to do the event here.

Hope: You know, it feels amazing to be back in italy.

Brooke: I– I– I can really feel it. I see the pieces. Hope for the future is going to be a smashing success.

Hope: Okay, don’t– don’t jinx us.

Thomas: You can’t jinx facts.

Hope: I admire the confidence.

Thomas: I know what we have.

Hope: Well, like ridge was saying earlier, the forrester family has a rich legacy here in italy and your grandfather paved the way, he built upon that and now it’s your turn.

Reporter: There’s a lot of anticipation about the forrester boutique we’re opening here.

Carter: Well, I looked over the legal docs. Everything seems to be in order.

Reporter: Excellent. We’d like to move forward as soon as possible. While the preview is fresh.

Ridge: This is a great opportunity for us.

Steffy: Yes, it is. Everyone. What a great way to honor our partnership between forrester creations, our italian friends and associates by putting on tomorrow’s hope for the future event.

Eric: You know, I have pretty good instincts about these thing and I think that this particular showing is gonna be a sensation for hope and for thomas. Look, I know you’re not particularly happy to have your wife share the glory with my grandson, but he deserves it. So my advice is for you to concentrate on the one person who counts, on your wonderful wife.

Liam: Hey. Yeah. Yeah. Listen, I– I’m going there to support hope. Now, do I happen to wish thomas wasn’t there? Well, that’s an emphatic yes. But am I gonna let him become an issue between me and my wife? Not on your life.

Donna: Yeah, I think it’s gonna mean a lot to her. You just there and supporting her, cheering her on.

Liam: Yeah, but okay. But– but keep in mind, this is– this is a surprise, so don’t tell ridge, don’t tell brooke, right?

Eric: Your secret is safe.

Liam: Okay.

Finn: I’m tempted to hop on the plane with you.

Liam: Bro, pack a bag and meet me at the airport.

Finn: I wish. I have patient commitments and these kids, so I think it’s best I sit this one out.

Eric: Uh, we’re very, very happy to take care of douglas and beth.

Finn: You know what? Kelly and hayes, they love play dates with beth and douglas, so you could always bring them over to the cliff house, overnight even. Okay, I’m not gonna be the only adult in the room. My mom, taylor, there– there’s gonna be plenty of reinforcements.

Donna: That’s good to know. Thank you.

Liam: This is so great. I– I just, I can’t really– I can’t thank you enough. Not just for making it possible, but for making it easy to surprise hope. I really, I just– I can’t wait to see the look on her face.

Ridge: All right. So, all the ups and downs, the twists and turns, we have a new and improved hope for the future, debut tomorrow.

Carter: Rome, no less. Great choice, by the way.

Ridge: It was a great choice. That’s why they keep her around. Anything else I need to know for tomorrow?

Carter: Nope. Everything’s under control.

Steffy: Carter walton, you are one of the most competent people I have ever met.

Carter: It’s a blessing and a curse.

Ridge: But it’s a blessing for us. You’re the best hire we ever had.

Steffy: An attorney, wedding officiant. What would we do without you?

Ridge: We couldn’t do anything without you.

Steffy: That is true.

Ridge: We appreciate you.

Carter: Well, it goes both ways, but please stop with the compliments. My head’s gonna get so big, it won’t fit through the door.

Steffy: You deserve every compliment. Well, I’m gonna go check on that photo shoot by the pool.

Ridge: All right, well good to hear.

Carter: We know where to find you.

Ridge: Hope and thomas, they poured their heart and soul into this. They need a win.

Carter: I’m with you and they’re gonna get it. You need to unwind. How about you get out of here, you see some sights. And– and– and you know what? Why not take brooke with you?

Hope: I can’t believe it. It’s finally here, the day that almost didn’t happen.

Brooke: Oh, well, you’ve been on quite the journey with hope for the future.

Hope: Yeah. Things were pretty bleak not that long ago. I almost lost my line. You know, I really tried not to let you or liam see how terrified I actually was.

[ Brooke scoffing ] But luckily, steffy gave thomas and me another chance at revitalizing the line and now here we are in rome. It’s got our preview tomorrow.

Brooke: I am so happy for you, hope. You worked so hard to revamp hope for the future and it’s really gonna be a success. I hope that you’re ready to be the toast of roma.

Hope: Now, that– that I think I can handle.

Brooke: Yeah. Are you nervous?

Hope: Just the regular preshow jitters, just a little bit. But I actually am feeling really, really confident in the line. I mean, at this point, I almost feel like, bring it on.

Brooke: Yeah.

Hope: So, um, what about you? How are you feeling?

Brooke: Oh, uh, I’m just so happy to be here.

Hope: With ridge? Well, it’s just, you know, I can’t help but notice the two of you are getting a little close and who knows what wonders the city might have in store for the two of you.

[ Brooke chuckling ]

Steffy: Jasmine. Hi, sean. Oh, so good to see you. Beautiful.

Jasmine: Thank you. I’m so happy to be a part of the forrester international.

Steffy: All right, everybody, that is a wrap. Great work, everyone. If you have heart disease and are on a statin, you and brooke long enoughCarter would I do that?

Ridge: What is happening? You need another hat to wear? What are you– you gonna be a matchmaker now?

Carter would I do that? Is that what–

Ridge: You would do that and it’s not necessary?.

Carter: Okay, so I shouldn’t believe what my eyes are seeing then.

Ridge: What do you, what? I don’t know what that means.

Carter: I know you well, my friend and I’ve been around you and brooke long enough to know when the ground is shifting. When you guys are close and distant and close. Okay, stop me if I’m misunderstanding the situation–

Ridge: I’m stopping you because you’re misunderstanding the situation, carter. Maybe this fall out with taylor, maybe– maybe brooke is a little open with me now.

Carter: That’s awesome.

Ridge: You think so?

Carter: Yes. I’m not trying to get in your business.

Ridge: Ah, dude, you’re in my business.

Carter: Yes, that’s exactly what I’m doing because it doesn’t matter if you and brooke are together or apart, your connection never goes away. And that– that means something. Now, all I’m suggesting is that you go out there, you get some fresh air, you combat that jet lag and that grumpiness and do it with the woman you’ve loved for most of your life.

Eric: Liam, you and hope have gotten through so much and you’ve gotten through everything with flying colors, with communication and caring., And most of all, with love. It’s the most important thing any couple can give each other. If two people love each other, there’s nothing they can’t overcome. Donna and I can attest to that.

Donna: We certainly can.

Liam: Well, right now, the only obstacle left between hope and me is, uh, miles. And that’s, uh, that’s pretty easily fixed. So next step, book a flight, baby.

Eric: There you go.

Donna: There you go.

Hope: I know you’ve been keeping an eye on thomas and me, you and steffy. I could feel your eyes in the back of my head. It’s kind of hard not to notice. Uh, but it’s really, it’s really not necessary because all of our focus and attention is on the preview and the press event. But you know, if you really do feel better watching us, um, that makes you feel at peace with yourself, just know I’ve also been keeping an eye on you and ridge.

Brooke: Oh, really? So, what is it you think you see?

Hope: Just what’s been there my entire childhood, my entire life. The two of you still desperately in love after all these years. And now that the, uh, the pact with taylor is null and void.

Brooke: I– I don’t wanna really talk about that right now.

Hope: Yeah. No, you’re right. Sorry, I even brought that up. Why would I do such a silly thing when we’re here? And we should be present in this beautiful city, this enchanted city called rome. With, oh, I don’t know. You just happen to be here with your decades-long love. There’s something in the air, mom, and can you feel it? ‘Cause it kind of feels like destiny.

Brooke: Uh, to be quite honest, I don’t know. Ridge is the other half of this equation and he’s kind of soured on destiny right now. So…

Hope: I don’t know. The man’s been known to change his mind.

Brooke: Okay. What are you doing? Are you trying to push us back together?

Hope: I just want you to be happy, and if that means ridge, then fine.

[ Knock on door ]

Ridge: Hey. Hey.

Brooke and hope: Hi.

Hope: We were just talking about you.

Ridge: Yeah. Good things, I hope.

Brooke: Oh, yeah. Is there anything else, yeah?

Ridge: I didn’t know if you maybe want to walk the city with me?

Brooke: Yeah. Yeah. I’d love to. Any place in particular?

Ridge: Same place I always go when I come to rome.

Uh, my name is liam spencer and I am desperately trying to get a flight to rome to see my wife.

Hope: Hey, thomas.

Thomas: Yeah?

Hope: Uh, tomorrow at the press event, can you promise me something? That you won’t forget that we were partners in this, and that this collection is just as much yours as it is mine because I want you to own that. You know, I want you to feel good about that and not defer to me. I mean, any questions you want to take, feel free to answer.

Thomas: That’s– it’s very generous.

Hope: Well, it’s not just my moment. It’s yours too. We worked on this together.

Thomas: Yeah. Now, what we worked on together is going to unveil itself here in this amazingly beautiful place.

[ Hope chuckling ]

Hope: I mean, if you really think about it, this is surreal. It wasn’t that long ago we almost lost hope for the future.

Thomas: You, okay?

Hope: Yeah. Yeah, I’m just… I appreciate you, thomas. And your talent and the way that you somehow are able to take my vision and elevate it into something that I– I couldn’t even begin to imagine. And somehow, along the way, you managed to make it fun with– with your humor and your positivity and the way that you just… you ground me and focus me and now we are here doing this together and I just… I guess what I’m trying to say is I’m just– I’m really thankful to be here launching the new hope for the future with you in rome.

Ridge: No matter how many times I see it, it still strikes me.

Brooke: It’s always stunning.

Ridge: It’s majestic.

Brooke: It’s hard to imagine it’s been there for thousands of years.

Ridge: Battered and worn, just like me.

Brooke: Ridge, you just get better with every passing year.

Ridge: No, I don’T.

Brooke: Yes, you do.

[ Brooke chuckling ] All right. I’ve got to say this, I’ve been keeping it in too long. I just wanna be your logan again. I mean, look at where we are. Come on, we’re here at the colosseum. It’s truly amazing. It’s weathered so many storms, it’s endured so much, just like us. You know what I need you to do. I need you to open your heart. Take a hold of me and just hold on tight and never let go. You do still believe in us, don’t you? Please tell me you believe?

Rj: Hey, you almost had it. You were that close. I’m not gonna lie.

Dakota: Might try again after I rest a bit.

Rj: Yeah, sure. Just let me know, I’ll be over there.

Dakota: Okay.

Finn: And ten.

Rj: What?

Liam: I think you should have offered her a towel.

Rj: Why? She wasn’t exactly breaking a sweat?

Finn: No. I meant for the drool, man.

Rj: Oh, come on. Very funny. Very, very funny.

Liam: Hey, rj, don’t look now, but I think you have another admirer.

[ Jackhammer pounding ] You’re going to have a monopoly on spotting services, you know that?

Rj: You are making me regret bringing both of you here right now. That’s what you’re doing.

Finn: We’re going to behave, right, liam?

Liam: Speak for yourself. I’m not behaving. By the way, thank you for inviting us. The jackhammer really helps me keep tempo.

Rj: Well, what can I say, you know? I felt bad, you know. You two lonely bachelors abandoned by my sisters in L.A. I just feel terrible.

Liam: Aw.

Finn: My wife on the way to rome, we’re stuck here in L.A.

Liam: Okay, listen, I’m– I am so excited for hope. I’m really proud that she has this opportunity. My only– my only thing is, no offense, I know he’s your brother, but why does thomas have to tag along? Like, I feel like he should be here in L.A., Not in rome with my wife.

Ridge: All right. It shouldn’t be too much longer.

Brooke: Oh, thank god. I can’t wait for italy.

Carter: Yeah, I think we all can’t wait.

Ridge: You know what I do want to do? I wanna go to that gelato place you found last time.

Brooke: Oh, yeah, you read my mind.

Hope: Oh, gosh, yes. Just bring on all the food, every kind of pasta.

Brooke: Oh, there’s my girl.

Steffy: Just make sure you use napkins. Thomas worked his butt off designing those gowns. The last thing I want to see is marinara all over those gowns.

Hope: Okay. Deal. We have an agreement. Anything to make this preview a success.

Thomas: You know, I really am amazed by you, carter. I mean, you getting the permits for this and it’s such an amazing place.

Carter: When hope asked for an iconic backdrop, I thought, “you might as well dream big, right?”

Hope: I’m so excited. I mean, I’m also a little nervous. I mean, I usually have butterflies before a forrester runway but– but this…

Thomas: In a place so historic?

Hope: It’s going to be wild.

Carter: Wildly successful, you mean.

Hope: Well, if it is– no, when it is, it will be in large part thanks to you, carter. I mean, all of your hard work on this line. I– I really don’t think we could have pulled it together without you. And you, my fearless lead designer over there. I mean, I just am in awe of your artistry and your talent and I really don’t think we’d be on a plane heading to rome if it wasn’t for your help. So, I’m very thankful for you and for the beauty of your work.

Rj: I get it, man. I totally understand why you feel guarded around thomas, especially when it comes to hope, you know.

Liam: I mean, yeah. But aren’t you, a little bit? Like hope’s your sister, you can’t be that comfortable with the role that he’s playing in her life, especially given all the crap he’s pulled.

Rj: Yeah. I– I don’t know, man, it’s weird. I’m kind of a brother to both, sort of.

Finn: Well then, to complicate it even more, the consensus seems to be that thomas has really changed this time.

Liam: I know. I wish– trust me. I wish I could buy that. It’s just hard, especially when hope’s well-being is at stake. Hey.

Liam: I mean, it’d be different if I could just believe in thomas, you know. If I could just, like, magically convince myself that he’s changed, but every time I try, I just, I can’t do it. And it doesn’t matter like how good he’s being, it still comes off as like phony to me. Like calculable.

Rj: I– I get it. I mean, there might be a chance that you’re right, but I doubt it. I mean, come on, look at him. He’s got way too much to lose. He’s got his career, his kid. I mean, he’s got every reason to be on his best behavior, right?

Liam: I know. I know, but I’m saying he’s had those reasons in the past and he was still willing to risk his career and his relationship with douglas. So like, what, why– why does everybody think this time it’s gonna be different? Like, help me understand that.

Finn: Look, liam, I don’t think rj and I should necessarily be trying to sway you on this. I mean, this is about your wife, protecting your family. You should trust your instincts on this, especially on this. But I will say, I have seen noticeable changes in thomas’s behavior. It used to be with thomas, you got a sense that he was always holding back, never giving you the full story about anything, which he wasn’T. Super shady dude. The feeling’s gone. ‘Cause when I look him in the eye now, I see clarity. I see a guy who’s figured things out.

Liam: Yeah. Okay. But like– like what if, what he’s figured out is just how to play us all better?

Finn: Well, maybe, but I’m with rj on this. I doubt it. Honestly, you want the best evidence that thomas is on the right path? It’s steffy. You trust her judgment, right?

[ Liam chuckling ]

Liam: Usually, yeah.

Finn: Yeah. Well, steffy believes in thomas. She’s tried to convince you, right?

Liam: Yeah, she has. Multiple times.

Finn: Okay. And, you know, steffy. I mean, there’s no way she would even consider defending thomas if she didn’t truly mean it.

Liam: No.

Rj: No, no one’s more of a straight shooter than steffy, right?

Liam: That’s valid. I mean, yeah, that’s a valid point. And honestly, I’m– I take comfort in the fact that steffy is going to be on this trip. She even told me she would, like, keep an eye on things for me.

Rj: On what? On hope and thomas?

Liam: Yeah, because if there’s anything concerning going on, steffy will see it.

Hope: And… I mean, um…

Thomas: It’s something.

Hope: Oh, this is actual… here we go.

Carter: Your brother and hope, who would’ve thought, right? Everything they’ve been through and you wouldn’t know it looking at how they relate now. The bond they created, the team. It’s so great seeing two people connect the way they do. It’s like they totally get each other.

Steffy: They certainly do.

Thomas: I didn’t know we were able to do that. Let me play around a lot more.

Hope: I know.

Ridge: All right. I talked to the pilot, we’ll be landing soon.

Brooke: Oh, good. I can’t wait to get off this plane.

Ridge: Long flight, I know, but it’s worth it.

Brooke: It is so worth it. There’s no city quite like rome.

Ridge: Something about it being romantic and stuff, right?

Brooke: Yeah. Did I say that?

Ridge: Once or twice, yes.

Brooke: Well, I know you don’t believe in romance and destiny right now, but I’m hoping that rome can help you find that again.

Pilot: Okay, folks. Time to buckle up. We’re starting our descent. Should be on the ground shortly.

Hope: Roma, here we come. I need to dig deep to do this,

Rj: Hey, no way.

Finn: That girl just text you? When– when did she even get your number?

Liam: I think beautiful women just like, know it by osmosis.

Rj: That’s– that’s very funny, but no, they do not. I wish they did. It was actually my mom letting me know that they landed safely.

Liam: Ah, ah, that’s lame, but it makes more sense.

Finn: Yeah, it makes a lot more sense. Why don’t you give her your number, man? She’s clearly into you.

Liam: Yeah.

Rj: I might slip it into the conversation next time she asks me to spot her.

Liam: Atta boy. Did, uh, did– did brooke say anything else?

Rj: No, just that they’re hitting the ground running?

Finn: Oh, man, it’s sinking in now. I’m officially getting jealous.

Rj: You jealous? What? Didn’t steffy invite you on the trip?

Finn: Yeah, I just have too many commitments at the hospital right now. Not to mention the kids. So, yeah, probably smartest I stay back.

Rj: What about you, liam? I mean, it kind of makes sense to me that you go considering how you feel about thomas.

Liam: Yeah. No, I know. Hope suggested it, albeit like super last minute. So logistically, it’S… I don’t know, it’s a work trip. I would rather go at a time when it feels like an actual vacation. And honestly, no matter how suspicious I am of thomas, I really don’t want to be that like, creepy jealous husband who’s just keeping tabs on his wife. That’s a whole…

Finn: You know what you ought to do, man?

Liam: What?

Finn: Surprise hope.

Liam: Surprise her how? Like– like what? Like in italy?

Finn: Yes, italy. And not as a super jealous husband type but as a, uh, romantic one. The kind of husband that wants to be at his wife’s press event, that flies halfway across the world as this epic show of support. I mean, think about the points you’d get. But yeah, I know it’s a work trip and there’s going to be some busy schedules going on, but there’s going to be downtime, man. In italy. In rome. It’s one of the prettiest cities in the world. This is kind of a no-brainer. So why don’t you go and do that? Hop on a plane, surprise your wife.

Thomas: Not too bad.

Hope: Mom, how did you find this villa?

Brooke: I have my secrets.

Steffy: This is so beautiful.

Carter: Wow, this is amazing.

Rj: I mean, I think finn is completely right, dude. It’d be insane if you just showed up and she saw you. I think she’d be ecstatic. I don’t know.

Finn: Yeah, do it, man. Come on, you’re gonna go up there. You’re gonna take the woman that you love into your arms. You’re gonna tell her how important she is to you. You’re gonna tell her exactly how you feel. You need to be there for her, man.

Liam: You know what? You guys are right. You’re absolutely right. Just screw it.

Hope: It’s so beautiful. It’s the perfect setting for a preview.

Thomas: I like this. I– yeah, all of this, but I love seeing you so happy. So excited.

Hope: Oh, yes, I did. Thank you, mom. They look beautiful or should I say, grazie.

[ Brooke chuckling ]

Thomas: It’s all coming together?

Hope: I know. I’m starting to get excited.

Carter: You’re not the only one. Katie forwarded some press about the preview. Check it out, man.

Thomas: Yeah. Huh. “Some of europe’s highest-profile influencers and fashion elite are streaming into rome for the much anticipated hope for the future preview.”

Steffy: No pressure.

Ridge: It should be a shining moment for our dream team.

Waitress: Another bourbon?

Liam: Uh, god, yes. Thank you.

Waitress: Of course.

Deacon: What’s the matter? You don’t– uh, you don’t like it? I told them extra vegan.

Liam: No, I’ve had it before. It’s– it’s really great. I’m just um, not very hungry.

Deacon: You missing hope? Yeah, me too. You know, she’s got a lot going on. She’s got her– her premiere. She’s got the press event.

Liam: Yeah. Well, you know, fingers crossed it’s a huge success.

Deacon: I know you want it to be a success. I do too. I also know that thomas is going on the trip and I can see from the look on your face, you ain’t too happy about that.

Liam: Yeah.

[ Knock on door ]

Rj: Hello. Have a proposition for you.

Eric: What’s that?

Rj: Well, steffy and dad are out of town. So that means that you are commander-in-chief. So, I was wondering if you would like to shake things up a little bit.

Eric: All right, I’m up for that.

Rj: Okay.

Eric: It’s very, uh, energizing for me to be so engaged at this company that I have, uh, built from the floor up. Yeah.

Rj: And it suits you. You look good behind that desk, chief.

Eric: That’s why I bought it. I love this desk. Come on, I’ve had this desk for a long time. Cost me a lot of money back in the day. Believe me. I’ve got a lot of satisfaction behind this desk, but no more satisfaction than I get from the drafting table. Have you– uh, have you reconsidered that? What about you, uh, picking up a pencil and uh, trying your hand at design?

Liam: You are, uh, very perceptive. I do not like the idea of thomas being there with hope, no.

Deacon: It’s a business trip.

Liam: For hope it is, 100%. For thomas, I don’t know what it is. It could be something else.

Deacon: She says he’s changed. She says he isn’t like that anymore.

Liam: Yeah. No, so I hear from literally everyone. It’s just, I don’t buy that and I don’t know if I ever will.

Steffy: Do you ever turn off those creative juices?

Thomas: Oh, is our C.E.O. Complaining?

Steffy: No, not at all. Just don’t spend the entire trip with your nose in a sketch pad. This is an incredible moment for you. I’m really proud of you.

Thomas: Thank you. It’s like the sweetest. I love it, hearing you say that. There was a long time where you weren’T.

Steffy: No. Yeah, well, it’s nice to see that you’re turning your life around.

Carter: Transportation team. They’re ready for us.

Ridge: Oh, you’ve got this all figured out, don’t you?

[ Carter chuckling ]

Carter: This event is very important for hope for the future.

Ridge: Very important. And you know what? I couldn’t have done it without you. When we’re done, I’m gonna take you to my favorite bar in rome to celebrate.

Carter: That sounds nice, but you might have other plans by then.

Ridge: Other plans? I’m gonna go with my best friend, have a beer. What are you talking about?

Carter: Yeah, that sounds good, but, you know, I’m sure you’re happier that brooke came along for the ride. You know what they say, rome is one of the most romantic cities on the planet. Scout is protected by simparica trio,

Rj: I respect so much what you do, granddad. You know that, right?

Eric: I’m not gonna force you, son. Not at all.

Rj: Uh-huh?

Eric: But if you did have an interest in doing this, your father and I would be glad to show you the ropes, you know.

Rj: You’re giving me glad? My dad would be elated.

Eric: He would. He’s proud of you. He sees the talent you have, you know. We’ve both seen your work. It’s terrific and the energy and the creativity you have inside. You’re a forrester, no question about it.

Rj: Thank you. That means a lot coming from you. But you know, I’m working on my own stuff. I’m doing my own thing and enjoying it.

Eric: Your dad was a trailblazer too and he was his own man at your age, you know. He was. You have a lot in common, really. Look, he’s so proud of you and he– he and your mother are both very happy to have you home.

Rj: I’m not gonna lie. I’m really enjoying being back in L.A. I’m not gonna lie.

Eric: Good. You don’t feel left out a little, not going on the trip to rome with everyone else?

Rj: What? Are you kidding me? Listen, we are gonna have so much fun here. They’re gonna wish that they stayed.

Eric: All right.

Rj: Fair?

Eric: I’m with you. I have to wonder though, how this trip to rome is gonna affect your parents.

Liam: You know, I keep reminding myself that every obstacle hope and I have ever faced, we overcame.

Deacon: And you really think that this situation with thomas could be that serious?

Liam: I don’t want it to be, but look at all the stress it’s causing in our marriage. Everything is– is a disagreement now. I mean, I would, you know what? We couldn’t have one– one casual, normal conversation before this trip and that’s on me. It’s because I– I can’t get past it, but every time thomas gets brought up, it ends in an argument, it just does.

Deacon: It’s– it’s got to be frustrating for you and for her.

Liam: Frustrating? That’s diplomatic.

Deacon: Hey, I’m just saying, you see him one way, she sees him another. I don’t know any woman who’s more committed to her husband and family than my daughter.

Liam: You know what hope needs from me? Not just faith. She needs me to have faith in her decision to work with thomas. She needs me to believe, really believe that nothing bad is gonna happen. And my gut says, no.

[ Liam chuckling ] I– I can’t– I can’t do it. I can’t shake this– this ominous feeling about hope and thomas in rome together.

Thomas: Trying to make it more bold as– as it goes down the dress toward the ground. Okay. Yeah. No, I should– I should work more on this, sorry.

Hope: No. No, I’m sorry. Sorry.

Thomas: No. Honestly, it’s okay. It’s okay. You should rest and– and we’ll hit the ground running when we get there, right.

Hope: Yeah. Well, I kind of have this running checklist going through my mind right now, making it a little hard to fully relax, so.

Thomas: I could give you a massage like I did on the way home from san francisco.

Hope: I don’t think my mom or your sister would appreciate that.

Thomas: You are probably right. Though your mom does seem pretty distracted with my dad right now.

Brooke: Our kids really are keeping an eye on us.

Ridge: I know. It’s only gonna get worse when we get to rome.

Brooke: Well, I don’t mind it from the press but, uh, from thomas, after everything he’s put us through.

Steffy: Thomas, have you heard from mom?

Thomas: No. Why have– have you?

Steffy: No, I– I– I texted her after we took off, but I’m thinking she’s feeling a little left behind.

Hope: Well, taylor understands this is a business trip, right? I mean, it’s not like ridge and brooke are on vacation.

Steffy: Yeah, we’re not going to have a minute to relax.

Thomas: Yeah. And we are not gonna try and get our parents back together. That’s not happening again.

Steffy: It’s not happening. We want her father to be happy and that means his choice. Not ours.

Hope: Same goes with my mom.

Steffy: Yeah, you’re absolutely right. I think right now, we just need to focus on work, minimize distractions. That won’t be a problem, will it?

Hope: What is that supposed to mean?

Steffy: I don’t know. You got on the flight a little late. How did it go with liam before you left? Hi, I’m jason and I’ve lost 202 pounds on golo.

Eric: I’ve been a real brooke and ridge fan for a very long time. Don’t sit on the desk.

Rj: Okay. You know what? I– I have been too.

Eric: Yeah. Must have been a big disappointment for you when their– their marriage ended?

Rj: Yeah. Actually, it was shocking that it happened that quickly. But, you know me, my days of matchmaking are over, unlike steffy and thomas, so.

Eric: No, I think maybe they put that behind them too.

Rj: No, I know. I just thought it was smartest to stay away. Avoid getting involved in any drama, you know?

Eric: Not really your thing, right?

Rj: What? The family drama?

Eric: Yeah.

Rj: Oh, yeah. Yeah, I love the family drama. It’s wonderful.

Eric: That’s just a little too much sarcasm.

[ Rj laughing ]

Rj: Honestly, don’t get me wrong, I– I would like to see my parents together again. Honestly, I mean, I think they’re happier that way, but, I don’t know. I guess it’s just– it’s gotta be something that they really want, something that they both really push for.

Eric: Well, between you and me, I think it’s what they both want. I just think the timing hasn’t been right so far. Wait a minute, rome. Rome is a pretty romantic place, you know. We’ll see.

Deacon: Ominous? Don’t you think maybe that just sounds a little dramatic?

Liam: Yeah. Trust me, I– I hope I’m freaking myself out over nothing, but this is not the first time I’ve been around this block with thomas.

Deacon: Have you told hope how you feel about it?

[ Liam laughing ]

Liam: This is all I’ve been saying since he went back to work at forr– no, this is all I’ve been saying since she decided to rehire him on her line.

Deacon: Okay. But she wouldn’t have done that if she had any doubts.

Liam: She did though. We both did. She was just as worried as I was and then hope went and did what hope always does because this is who she is as a person. She gave him another chance and…

Deacon: Okay, I– allow me to play devil’s advocate for just a moment here, all right? So, is it possible that those things, the co-parenting, being the best designer? It makes a pretty good case for giving the guy another shot to see if he’s actually who he says he is.

Liam: Maybe, except something always happens. Hope lets her guard down, doesn’t want to blow him off, and then I’ll give you three guesses who gets hurt? Your daughter.

Brooke: How are you?

Hope: Um, I’m all right.

Brooke: Yeah?

Hope: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: Did you talk to liam?

Hope: Well, I haven’t talked to him since I left L.A., But I will text him when we land.

Brooke: Oh, don’t you think he’d like to hear your voice?

Hope: He’ll hear my voice when I wish the kids goodnight, um, but uh, what about– what about you and ridge? You two seem to be getting pretty cozy.

Brooke: Did you forget your mantra already? This is a business trip.

Hope: Yes. And it will probably be one of the busiest. I mean, thomas and I, we’re going to be swamped. But, uh, you and ridge, I don’t know, you might have some downtime. Could do some press.

Brooke: Oh, yeah, that is so romantic.

Hope: Well, you never know. I mean, you’re in rome, right?

Brooke: Yeah. Yeah. You never know. It’s just, ridge has been acting kind of different, you know? He doesn’t even call me logan. I think he’s just trying to protect me.

Hope: From what?

Brooke: More pain. More heartache.

Ridge: You know why your mom isn’t on the trip, right?

Steffy: I do. You shouldn’t feel guilty about brooke being here. She’s working.

Ridge: Which is what we should be doing.

Steffy: Mm-hmm. Whatever the future holds, brooke or mom, just know that I’m– I’m happy for you.

Ridge: Really?

Hope: Excuse me?

Thomas: Yeah, sure.

Hope: You know, steffy, you don’t have to stare every minute.

Steffy: You never answered my question earlier.

Hope: Yeah, you’re right. I didn’t because my marriage is none of your concern.

Steffy: I’m concerned about this trip. There’s a lot riding on it.

Hope: Oh, believe me, steffy, I know that better than anyone. This showing could make or break my line.

Steffy: Look, I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Thomas has turned his life around. He has made tremendous progress and we’re all proud of him. I won’t let you or anyone destroy all his hard work.

Hope: And I’m going to tell you what I’ve said over and over. What I have told liam, that is that there is nothing to worry about. There’s nothing.

Thomas: Hey, I okayed the schedule with carter. He’s good with it.

Hope: Good. Good.

Thomas: Is everything okay?

Liam: Are you, uh– you all packed?

Hope: Yeah, pretty much. Are the kids ready?

Liam: Yeah. Um, they kindly request a souvenir from rome, each.

Hope: Hmm. I’ll make sure to bring back something really special for them.

Liam: Yeah. We’re gonna miss you.

Hope: I’m gonna miss you too. So, that means you better have your phone on, because I will be calling you constantly.

Liam: I’m excited for you. This– this fashion preview, I think it’s gonna go great. I think– I think the press is gonna love every single dress. I really do.

Hope: Fingers crossed.

Liam: Yeah. I mean, come on, like, there was no question that the business part of it is just gonna– it’s gonna be amazing. It’s– it’s just, you know, that other noise, that’s–

Hope: Liam.

Liam: You know, I don’t– what do you want me to say? That I’m– I’m not still concerned about thomas going to rome with you?

Taylor: No, it still sounds like I swallowed a goose.

Taylor: Okay, do you have your passport?

Ridge: Yeah.

Taylor: Huh?

Ridge: Yeah.

Taylor: Really?

Ridge: Yes. I do.

Taylor: [ Laughing ] Yes. Okay, good. Oh, my gosh, I’m gonna miss you guys so much. Me, of course, I would love to be with you in rome, but I– I get that this is a business trip.

Thomas: Ah, kind of stinks that you’re not going. Um, I’m gonna miss you, and I know you’re gonna be rooting me on.

Taylor: I am.

Thomas: Oh, oh, no. Oh, no.

[ Thomas laughs ]

Taylor: You know who– who isn’t gonna miss me on this trip? Brooke.

Katie: So, you called out taylor for breaking your girl code, and she’s trying to flip it around on you?

Donna: But she– she deliberately tried to set you up with deacon and hollis.

Katie: So that you’d be distracted when she was making moves on a ridge.

Donna: But that– that’s just so messed up.

Brooke: Well, needless to say our pact is broken. But I did get some clarity from it. I realized that deep in my heart, ridge is the love of my life.

Donna: Well, we could have told you that.

Brooke: Yes, yes.

Katie: But if that’s really what you want, then that’s what will happen. You and ridge will be together.

Donna: And maybe, even sooner than you think.

[ Donna laughing ]

Brooke: Oh, okay. [ Laughs ]

Donna: So, where do you and ridge stand as of now?

Brooke: Well, he’s– he’s being cautious. You know, he’s being protective of himself and his heart, since taylor and i did banish him.

Katie: That break had to happen. You had to end that cycle. You, taylor, you, taylor.

Donna: Yeah, it wasn’t healthy or fair to either one of you.

Brooke: I know that, and ridge knows that. He totally understands. It’s just he’s questioning things. I mean, he’s not even calling me his logan. It’s almost like he’s guarding me and him against any future pain or heartache.

Ridge: You know, brooke has been here almost as long as I am.

Taylor: Yes. I know. I know. She’s an important part of forrester creations. Yeah, she deserves to be going. But you know, the– the timing isn’t in my favor, really. But you know, this isn’t about me. This is about you and all the success that you and hope are gonna have in rome.

Thomas: Well, the line’s solid. And hope and i are going to kill it. And I think these new designs are going to surprise everybody.

Hope: Liam, you know, thomas is my lead designer.

Liam: No, I know, but it’s your baby. It’s your name on the billboard. The whole– this whole trip is about you.

Hope: Liam, if– if you’re this concerned, I mean– I don’t know, maybe– maybe, you should just come.

Liam: What?

Hope: Come with us to rome. You know that feeling of having to rewash I’m not buying that.

Donna: You must feel so disappointed.

Brooke: Taylor claimed she meant no harm.

Katie: Oh, please. I’m not buying that. I mean, it’s obvious that she was trying to set you up with somebody other than ridge.

Brooke: Yeah, she set me up all right.

Donna: I’m sorry, brooke. But you know what? At least now you know who taylor really is.

Katie: Yeah, and now, you can be together with ridge. There’s nothing holding you back.

Brooke: Yeah. It’s just, uh– it just feels different. Ridge has put up a wall between us, and uh, he’s deliberately not calling me logan. He says, “brooke.” Says, “hi, brooke.” “How are you, brooke?”

Katie: Oh, my god. Stop that.

Donna: Stop that.

Brooke: Brooke, brooke.

Brooke: I know. It’s weird.

Donna: It sounds so weird coming from ridge.

Brooke: It is, I’ve never heard him say that.

Katie: It sounds like you think he’s given up on love. Is that true?

Brooke: He did say that he has given up on destiny. That he doesn’t believe in that anymore.

Katie: Well, maybe, this trip will change things. Rome is a magical city.

Carter: You’re right about that. But it won’t be magic for me without you by my side.

[ Brooke laughing ] So cute.

Steffy: All right, katie arranged for us to bring some vip swag.

Ridge: Great. I’ll make sure that ends up in the car. I got to pick up my suit from alterations. I’ll be right back.

Taylor: Yes, you do.

Steffy: Hey, mom?

Taylor: Yes.

Steffy: This is it.

Taylor: I know. I know. Oh, my gosh, I love you.

Steffy: I love you. I’ll call you when we land.

Taylor: Yes, please do.

Taylor: I love you too. You’re gonna kill this.

Thomas: I’m getting it done.

Taylor: You are. And– and I think this trip is going to be just the first in– in many successes in your career.

Thomas: This isn’t just about me. You’re a part of this too. I mean, you were woven into every fiber of everything I create.

Taylor: Oh, honey. You know, you are doing so much work. So much hard work and… it’s a lifetime journey to commit to healing the way that you are, but you’re doing it.

Thomas: I know. I am. And I promise that I’m gonna keep working just as hard as I have, right? And um, like this trip, obviously, nothing is gonna happen with hope and me.

Taylor: I am not worried about you, okay? That’s all I’m gonna say.

Thomas: Okay.

Taylor: But I’ll also say that… I am so proud of you. And I’m really looking forward to everything, and all of the good news and all the amazing stuff that you’re gonna tell me.

Thomas: Thanks, mom.

Liam: You want me to come to rome?

Hope: You’re my husband. Is it really that much of a mystery why I would want you there? I mean, do I really need a reason?

Liam: You don’t have to do this. I– I don’t need to– I don’t want to be your chaperone.

Hope: No, that’s not what I meant.

Liam: Hope I– I want you to enjoy yourself over there. I want you to bask in the– in the applause and accolades, and I’m gonna be cheering for you from here in spirit, but you don’t need thomas there and it’s not too late. There are so many ways that you could pull him from this trip.

Carter: I had to get one

Carter: I had to get one last look before I left.

Katie: Are you excited?

Carter: About the trip? Yes. About leaving you? No.

Katie: Well, trust me. If it were up to me, I would take you back to my place and I would lock you in the bedroom and I wouldn’t let you go.

Carter: That is not a terrible idea.

[ Both chuckling ]

Katie: I might get in trouble with some of the higher ups.

Carter: I don’t know. I think I know a guy.

[ Katie chuckling ]

Katie: Seriously. I’m so excited that you’re getting this opportunity, but… I’ll miss you.

Carter: I’m gonna miss you too.

[ Both chuckling ]

Donna: Toss a coin in the trevi fountain from me, okay?

Brooke: Oh, I will. I’ll make an extra wish for you.

Donna: Yeah? And have a fun trip. You know, I have a feeling that rome is gonna change everything for ridge. And his logan.

Brooke: [ Laughing ] Okay.

Donna: You’ll see.

Taylor: Look what he is doing, what he’s done, the changes he’s made.

Ridge: You’re responsible for most of that.

Taylor: I can’t take all the credit, but thank you. Yeah, I don’t– I don’t want you to lose faith in me. And I know it’s tricky right now with all the– the brooke drama.

Ridge: Let’s not get into that again.

Taylor: Okay, first of all, we haven’t gotten into it at all. We haven’t talked about it. But I will say this, I– I pulled a fast one on you the other day and I– I– I wasn’t trying to–

Ridge: I know you weren’T. And look, I’m– brooke will come around, eventually.

Taylor: I don’t think that she will ever own her part of this whole situation. She’s going to continue a smear campaign on me while you’re in italy. I know– I know that. But just remember the source. That’s all I ask.

[ Taylor chuckling ] Because– oh, damn it, I love you. And I will always love you. I mean, if you weren’t so devastatingly handsome–

Ridge: I know, it’s a lot.

Taylor: Incredibly charming. All of this.

Ridge: How does he do it?

Taylor: I don’t know. And it makes you a– a hard man to shake, ridge forrester.

Hope: I can’t force thomas not to go.

Liam: Literally, everyone would understand, given the history.

Hope: Not in the 11th hour now. Not when the– the schedule has been set. The invites have gone out, the press release. I mean, this– it– plans have been solidified.

Liam: It wasn’t the 11th hour the first time I asked, and plans can absolutely change. It’s not the end of the world if thomas doesn’t go. What matters is that all these people are there to see you because it’s your line, right? You’re the face of it. You– you understand that, don’t you?

Hope: I do.

Liam: Okay, so, please, please? Because you’re– you’re all staying together, and I’m telling you, hope, it just… doesn’t feel right.

[ Relaxing music ]

Hope: I– I have to get to the airport. I’m holding people up.

Liam: I know. I know. But please, can we just like, wrap this up before that? Because the jet will wait for you.

Hope: Liam, I know what you’re asking me to do and I’m telling you I can’T. I can’t tell thomas not to come.

Liam: That’s not true. It is not absolutely necessary for thomas to physically be there in person.

Hope: I am already stressed enough as it is.

Hope: Having to leave you, having to leave the kids…

Liam: I know, I know and I’m sorry.

Hope: …Trying to make everybody happy.

Liam: I get it. I’m sorry about that.

Hope: If you don’t want to come, then you’re going to have to find a way to accept the fact that thomas is going to be there. He’s the lead designer of the hope for the future line. That is it. It is just a business trip. Nothing more.

Hope: Okay, um… really didn’t want to leave like this. I love you and um, I do have to get to the airport. So, I’m just gonna go. Um, and yeah, I’ll see you when I get back.

Brooke: Away we go.

Pilot: Welcome aboard.

Ridge: Well, we got half a group anyway, right?

Steffy: We’re just waiting on hope and thomas.

Pilot: Not a problem. Not a problem.

Carter: Thank you.

Brooke: This is exciting, isn’t it?

Carter: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: Tomorrow, we’re gonna wake up in glorious rome.

[ Carter chuckling ]

Carter: We have an amazing local crew in place. You know, the catering, the– the permits, all set, you name it, it’s done.

Ridge: I’m so glad you were born, carter.

Steffy: Most organized man on the planet.

Ridge: Yes, he is. And on time, unlike your brother.

Brooke: I just uh, texted hope and she hasn’t gotten back to me.

Steffy: I wonder where hope and thomas could be.

Liam: Hey! What the hell is going on here?

Steffy: I’m sorry, liam. I don’t want to hurt you, but I think your wife has feelings for thomas.

Hope: Liam, I don’t want to hurt you, but thomas is my lead designer. He is my partner and I can’t imagine being in rome without him.

Ridge: All right, can’t leave without hope, anyway.

Brooke: Well, she’s coming. She texted me a moment ago, said she should be here any minute.

Steffy: Can’t imagine hope’s goodbye to liam was nice and easy.

Carter: Oh, and I have another interview for you with an outlet from milan.

Brooke: Grazie mille.

Carter: Nessun problema.

[ Ridge laughing ]

Ridge: Look at the two of you, ready for italy.

Brooke: Yeah. Well, the question is, is italy ready for us?

Carter: Hmm.

Ridge: We’ll see.

[ All chuckling ]

Thomas: Does anybody want a water?

Ridge: I’ll take one.

Hope: Sorry. Sorry, I’m late, I got held up.

Brooke: Don’t apologize, honey. The important thing is, that you made it here safely.

Pilot: Okay, everyone is here, and accounted for. Everybody, please, buckle up your seat belts, we will be taking off shortly.

Hope: Thank you.

Brooke: Sweetheart, are you okay?

Hope: Yeah, I’m fine.

Brooke: Yeah? I mean, everything’s okay with you and liam?

Hope: Well, everything is under control, okay?

Brooke: Okay.

Hope: It’s all fine. You’ll see. Rome is going to be incredible.

Liam: Man, our daughter never ceases to amaze me.

Steffy: Yeah, I know. Right when I told her mommy was going to italy, she immediately wanted to learn italian.

Liam: I know. Yeah, I gotta say, that app is pretty incredible just because of the way that it, like, with the videos and the games and stuff. It makes it fun. Even I’ve picked up a few phrases, I think.

Steffy: Oh, really?

Liam: Yeah. Uh wait, wait.

[ Speaking italian ]

Steffy: Oh, okay.

Liam: Right? Yeah.

Steffy: Translation please?

Liam: Oh, uh, I love our little girl so much.

Steffy: Aw, [Indistinct].

Liam: Big day tomorrow.

Steffy: Yeah, everyone’s flying off to roma for hope for the future’s big preview and the big press event. You know what that means?

Liam: Yeah. Yeah. Your brother and my wife are gonna be inseparable.

Steffy: How are you doing?

Liam: I’m all right. Wish I could say, carefree, but not so much.

Deacon: Sweetheart, thank you so much for making time to see your old man before you go jetting off. You must be so excited.

Hope: I am. I can’t wait.

Deacon: Yeah.

Hope: We’ve been working so hard on this. Oh, and um, guess who will be joining us now?

Deacon: Oh, your mother?

Hope: How did you know that?

Deacon: What, are you kidding me? You think she wouldn’t be there to support you?

[ Hope chuckling ]

Deacon: So, uh, what about thomas? Is he still going?

Hope: Yes, of course, he is. Dad, he’s the lead designer of hope for the future.

Deacon: I can only imagine how liam feels about that.

Rj: You’re all packed for the big day tomorrow, right?

Ridge: Me? I haven’t even started.

Eric: Yeah, your father always waits ’til the last minute.

Ridge: I like travel light. What can I tell you?

Rj: Hey, you know, I do the same thing. It makes for more of an adventure. But, uh, it’s not saying that this is that by any means, there’s a lot at stake, right?

Ridge: Yeah. But, uh, I think hope and her line are gonna do just great.

Rj: Yeah. You know, mom says the same thing. She really, really is hope’s biggest cheerleader.

Ridge: And she’s gonna be there to see it all.

Rj: Who, mom?

Ridge: Yeah. She– she told you she was coming, right?

Rj: Oh, yeah. She might have mentioned it maybe like two dozen times.

[ Eric laughing ]

Eric: Well, your mother and father together in rome, one of the most romantic cities in the world. Wonder what they’re gonna do with their spare time.

Brooke: Si. Yes, I am so proud of hope. Her line is just, uh, well, you’ll see for yourself. Just prepare to be wowed. Yes. Ridge and I will be in italy together. Uh, gabrielle. I have to go. Somebody just walked in and I have to deal with them. Okay. [ Speaking italian ]

Taylor: You know, I’ve been thinking. And um, I still believe that you are not transparent when it came to ridge, but I reacted poorly. Besides that, I– I really was trying to support you in moving on with your life.

Brooke: So, that you could try to move on with ridge.

Ridge: Do I need to remind you guys that this is a business trip?

Rj: Sure seems like you’re packing in a lot in a really short amount of time.

Eric: And that doesn’t mean that you and brooke can’t enjoy a little time together by yourselves in your spare time.

Ridge: Oh, wow. You are about as subtle as a sledgehammer.

[ Eric laughing ] Don’t get any ideas. You or you.

Rj: Me? What did I say? What did I say?

Ridge: Brooke is going because she is an essential part of this company. Anything else?

Eric: Anything else? Anything more than that would make this trip even more memorable, actually, in more ways than one.

Brooke: Okay. I really don’t have time for this. I’m trying to prepare for my trip tomorrow.

Taylor: Your big trip, your– your trip to rome with ridge.

Steffy: Liam, I understand why you feel that way. And you know, I have my concerns too, but this isn’t like san francisco. Hope and thomas aren’t gonna be alone together.

Liam: True.

Steffy: They’re gonna be crazy busy the whole time. But you’re still worried?

Liam: I mean, not about hope. Like I– I know she loves me.

Steffy: Yeah, so do I. But you know how I feel. I think hope has these confusing feelings towards thomas. Feelings that she hasn’t even acknowledged to herself or to you.

Hope: Don’t worry about me. I can handle liam.

Deacon: Just a little gentle suggestion. Don’t handle him. Listen to him.

Hope: Yeah, except he’s not listening to me. I keep telling him it’s just business. Nothing more.

Deacon: You sure that thomas knows that?

Hope: Thomas isn’t the problem, okay? And besides, I’ve actually, I’ve been thinking about something else lately.

Deacon: What have you been thinking about?

Hope: You know, just you and mom. Your lives, the decisions that you’ve made.

Deacon: Oh, boy.

Hope: Mm-hmm. Obviously, dad, I know that you are a good man, but you know, once upon a time, maybe you didn’t make the best choices and kind of gave into your desires and maybe you were a little impulsive.

Deacon: Well, you know, it is true that I’m not exactly a paragon of restraint but, you know, had I not given in to some of those desires, you, my darling daughter would not be sitting here in front of me. But you’re not like that. You don’t have to worry about it. Everything looks so good.

Ridge: Charlie. Charlie. No, no, no, no. It’s– it’s a simple question. Is my passport in the safe? No. Okay. Thank you.

Eric: Leave charlie alone. You do this every time and–

Ridge: And every time, I find it. It’s okay.

Rj: I’m gonna remind mom about hers tonight. I’m sure that she knows where her passport is.

Ridge: You’re being very helpful. Thank you so much. Ha!

Rj: Hey!

Eric: We’re all so happy. We’re all so relieved. Now, what about taylor?

Ridge: What about her?

Eric: You said that she expressed the desire to maybe come along?

Rj: Whoa, wait a minute. Taylor’s gonna tag along with you to rome?

Ridge: It’s a big moment for her son.

Eric: Yeah. No question about that. But like you said, this is a business trip and I’m not sure that taylor tagging along is a very good idea. Especially with brooke there.

Brooke: Yes, I am going to rome. In addition to the preview and the press event, I will also be meeting with the top suppliers and our very important buyers.

Taylor: I’m just– I’m just glad that you– you get to be there to support your daughter.

Brooke: Yeah, she has a lot riding on this and she’s going to be center stage, so of course, I would be there to support her.

Taylor: You know something? I was thinking about going too.

Brooke: Oh, you’re just gonna tag along?

Taylor: You know, I actually mentioned to ridge that I’d like to be there to support thomas.

Brooke: When did you mention that to ridge? Before or after you told him that I haven’t changed and that I never will? Which is a complete lie, by the way. Oh, and then you told him how much you missed him.

Taylor: Yeah, it was the same conversation that you overheard. I guess you missed that part. Anyway, wouldn’t it be fun if we were on the same flight together?

Brooke: No, that is absolutely ridiculous. This is strictly business. This is forrester creations fashion. You have nothing to do with that, taylor. So, there’s absolutely no reason for you to be there.

Deacon: Sweetheart, look, I’m not putting your mother down. I mean, far from it. And without a question, brooke is one of the most exciting, passionate women on the planet, but she is also impulsive, like me. In the past, that’s gotten us both into hot water. Especially when it comes to affairs of the heart. Somehow, miraculously, we didn’t seem to pass that gene along to you. And you know, you’ve got a set of values that you live by, you know? You don’t let your emotions and your passions run wild. Frankly, I don’t know how you do it. I mean, I think you’re a saint.

[ Hope chuckling ]

Hope: No, dad. I am not a saint.

Steffy: Look, I’m not trying to cause you to question hope or make you paranoid, but my concerns haven’t changed.

Liam: Like, I’ve talked to hope about this and– and she’s assured me so many times there’s just nothing to worry about.

Steffy: Yeah, I– I realize that. But I also think she might be a little confused right now.

Liam: I know where you’re coming from. Like I know your intentions are good. It’s just the more I consider this, the more I gotta think you’re mistaken.

Steffy: I hope so. I– I really hope I’m wrong. But just to be safe, maybe you should come to rome. Welcome to my digestive system.

Rj: Granddad left pretty quickly to go see donna. Do you think everything’s okay?

Ridge: Oh, I– I think everything’s more than okay. This kind of stuff happens quite a bit.

Rj: Oh? Oh.

Ridge: Well, I’m glad we have this time alone together anyway because I wanted to talk to you. This trip that I’m taking with your mom to europe, don’t read too much into it.

Rj: Now, look, you know me, I’m– I’m allergic to the family drama. I hate all this stuff. I don’t want to get involved in any of it. But dad, mom is your destiny and you know it. The world knows it, including rome.

Taylor: Hey, brooke, it’s okay. I just– I just mentioned that I’d– that I’d like to go.

Brooke: Do I really need to say this again? You’re not in fashion, taylor. You’re a psychiatrist, you analyze people’s minds, not what they wear, so there’s really no reason for you to be there.

Taylor: You just don’t want me to go because you wanna jet off to rome just to be with ridge.

Brooke: Need I remind you I’m a very big part of forrester creations? I created the belief formula, the men’s line, taboo, and the very successful brooke’s bedroom line and now hope has her line, hope for the future.

Taylor: And that would have been pulled if it wasn’t for my son. So of course, I’d love to be there to support him.

Brooke: We all know why you want to be there. I can see right through you.

Deacon: It’s great to see you guys again. Thank you. Hey, what’s going on? You seem like you’re kind of down. Was it something I said?

Hope: Oh, no, no, no. No, it’s not– it’s not you. I just, um, have a lot going on in my life right now.

Deacon: You mean like resurrecting your company, an international fashion preview and maintaining your family? A little bit of advice. Honey, sometimes I think you might be a little hard on yourself. I mean, you’ve got all these– these goals and all these expectations and that’s fantastic. It’s important. But don’t forget to be human, all right? You know, let yourself have a little fun. It’s okay to make a couple of mistakes every now and then. You know, follow your passions.

[ Hope chuckling ]

Hope: Thank you. Uh, not exactly the advice that I was looking for, but um, it is appreciated. I need to be getting home to liam and the kids.

Deacon: Come here. Listen, you be careful, all right? But I want you to have a good time. I want you to make some memories. I know you’re gonna crush it in rome.

Hope: Thank you, dad.

Deacon: Okay, go get ’em.

Steffy: It’s totally up to you, but I think it would be wise to come along.

Liam: So funny. Wyatt said the same thing.

Steffy: And?

Liam: And uh, like I told him, I just, I refuse to be that guy that like insecure husband who’s keeping tabs on his wife.

Steffy: You’re not being insecure.

Liam: Yes. My wife works with your brother. I wish she didn’T. There’s nothing I can do about that, but it’s for all the reasons you and I both know. It has nothing to do with like a lack of faith in my wife.

Steffy: I know that. You have faith in hope just like I have faith in thomas. And I get this is hard for you and I’m not trying to add to it. How about I just keep an eye on things in rome? Just in case.

Rj: Look, I know that it– it sounds like I’m trying to push you and mom together, but I’m not, okay? It’s your lives, it’s your futures.

Ridge: But?

Rj: But, we both know if thomas hadn’t have done what he did, you and mom would still be together.

Ridge: Oh, stop it. I’ll always love your mom. Never gonna go away. We’re adults. We’re– we’re trying to break this cycle of pain and disappointment.

Rj: Okay, I get it, but I mean, unless you’re trying to join the clergy–

[ Ridge laughing ] I’m just saying.

Ridge: No, I know you’re just saying and I’m just saying, brooke and I, we don’t want to hurt each other anymore or the people we care about, including you.

Rj: Okay, I hear you. I’m just– I don’t know. Someday. Destiny. Maybe in rome.

Ridge: Yeah. All right.

Taylor: Wait a second. So– so you can see right through me? At least one of us is transparent, huh? All right. I just, I think that there’s– there’s more going on to this than you’re telling me. What is it?

Brooke: Okay. Yeah. There is. Um, I’m just a little bit worried about ridge.

Taylor: Why?

Brooke: I just feel like he’s lost, you know? Like, lost his faith.

Taylor: Lost his faith… in destiny? Oh, my god. That’s what it is. I’ve been right this whole time. Oh, god. So, you and ridge have been growing closer and– and now you’re going to rome to make him believe in love again. Oh, god. That’s what– I’m right. That’s what it is.

Brooke: Ciao, taylor.

Liam: Hey. Um, I just put the kids to bed.

Hope: Hm. Uh, well, I, uh, wasn’t working late with thomas, if that’s what you were wondering. I actually went to see my dad before I leave for this trip tomorrow.

Liam: Are you hungry? I can fix you something.

Hope: No, that’s okay. I’m just– I’m going to say goodnight to beth and douglaS.

Liam: Actually before you– just… because you already brought it up. But one last time, here’s my thing about thomas. It– it– it’s just–

Hope: Liam. Liam. Could we please not do this tonight? I’d really like our last night together to be one that’s peaceful and not talking about any of that. I mean, liam, look at me. I love you. More than anything. You’re the man I want in this life that we’ve built together as a family. I will not let anything jeopardize that. I made my vows to you, to love and to cherish you and nothing’s going to change that in the next few days, okay?

Liam: Yeah. No, I know.

Hope: I love you.

Liam: I know. I know. I know. I love you too.

Hope: Rome– rome’s going to be exciting. I mean, this might be one of hope for the future’s biggest successes and– and then I will be able to come home to you, to our family, to our life.

Steffy: Hope! You didn’t hear me?

Hope: Uh– uh. No– no, I just…

Steffy: Are you all right?

Ridge: Look at you. You seem just as excited about going to rome as we are.

Brooke: Well, of course, this is a pivotal moment in my daughter’s career.

Ridge: And my son’S.

Thomas: I’m glad you wanna come, brooke.

Brooke: Really?

Thomas: No, it’s– it’s awesome because you get to see just how connected and in sync your daughter and I are.

Wyatt: Did you know they were about to file for bankruptcy?

Liam: Uh, no, I hadn’t heard that.

Wyatt: I think we– we should think about an acquisition. You know, they’re– they’re small right now. They have only about five magazines. Price tag won’t be that high and– and– and their sensibility when it comes to their lifestyle coverage completely aligns with ours. I think it would be a seamless takeover. Thoughts?

Liam: Yeah, no, for sure.

Wyatt: Or I mean, we could just be good samaritans and blow the building up, you know. Save on legal fees.

Liam: Yeah, that sounds good.

Wyatt: Liam!

Liam: What?

Wyatt: I just said blow up the building.

Liam: Really?

Wyatt: Where are you right now? I’m trying to get some work done.

Liam: I’m sorry, I’m sorry, you know, I’m just– I’m still thinking about hope and thomas.

Ridge: You know what, brooke? I think you going to rome actually makes a lot of sense. Not just because your daughter’s line is being showcased, but because you’re a big part of this company.

Brooke: Oh. Well, it’s nice to be appreciated.

Ridge: Well…

Carter: And not just in this room. Been speaking to potential buyers and suppliers and they’re all asking for interviews and meetings with you.

Ridge: Really? I guess you’re going.

Brooke: Oh, thank you, carter.

Liam: I’m sorry, I just– I know– I know I’m not the best at focusing now.

Wyatt: No, I– I– I get it. I– I guess I was just hoping to redirect your thoughts, you know, distract you a little bit. I didn’t actually expect it to work.

Liam: I mean, I am doing everything I can to not let my concern about hope, send me into a spiral. I just, what– what am I supposed to do? This trip’s killing me, man.

Wyatt: I don’t– I don’t blame you, okay? You have every reason to worry about hope and thomas going to rome right now.

Steffy: Is everything okay?

Hope: Yeah, I’m fine.

Steffy: Are you sure? You good?

Hope: I appreciate your concern, but everything is under control.

Steffy: That’s a weird thing to say, everything’s under control. Let me guess. Whatever this is, it has something to do with my brother. This vibe I’m sensing, it has something to do with thomas, doesn’t it?

Carter: Okay, so let’s go down this list, right? We have the leaf, the men’s collection and brooke’s bedroom. Come on, it’s no wonder why they’re asking if you’re making the trip to italy.

Ridge: The legendary brooke logan, everybody.

Brooke: Oh.

Thomas: We are lucky to have you.

Brooke: Oh, well, thank you, thomas.

Thomas: You’re welcome.

Carter: So, is it official? Can I go and set up meetings and interviews for you?

Brooke: Okay. But just a few. I want the focus to be on hope.

Carter: Got it.

Ridge: I’m glad you’re coming.

Brooke: Yeah, me too.

Thomas: You know, I– I do wonder… you think mom’s gonna feel weird about you two being in rome together.

Wyatt: Not only is rome one of the most beautiful cities in the world, it’s also one of the most romantic, right? They’re all about amore. The whole country is. I mean, I don’t have to tell you– you– you, you’ve been there, you, you got married to hope in puglia.

Liam: Yeah, I know. But those are not the same thing. One is two people madly in love at a destination wedding and the other is business partners at a press event, for god’s sake.

Wyatt: Right, and one of those business partners has been known to be obsessed with the other one. The other one just so happening to be your wife. And they’re about to be alone in fabulous rome of all places.

Liam: I’m curious to know how you think this is helping.

Wyatt: I’m empathizing with you.

Liam: Stop empathizing.

Wyatt: All right, fine, I’m bad at it. Liam, you cannot be more concerned about this situation. Thomas is a master manipulator. He’s good at it because he’s had a lot of practice doing it, okay? He– he knows how to get hope to feel safe around him. He knows how to get her to let her guard down around him. Hell, even defend him for god knows why. And then he does something awful. You have to do something. You can’t let this trip happen.

Liam: How?

Wyatt: I don’t know.

Liam: Exactly.

Wyatt: But liam, maybe you can find a way to keep thomas from going, right? Then– then rome wouldn’t be a problem anymore. The problem here is– is thomas, right? Not your wife.

Hope: Thomas? And why would you bring him up?

Steffy: You know why. The moments I’ve witnessed between you and thomas, I’ve been very clear about my concerns.

Hope: And I’ve told you that there is no reason to be concerned.

Steffy: Good because thomas is doing a remarkable job turning his life around. He’s re-channeling his negative energy into creativity. I love that he’s working hard on himself. He’s really coming into his own. I love that. I just don’t want to see him backslide.

Hope: Thomas has reinvented himself. I am very proud of him.

Steffy: Yeah, you’ve reaped the benefits of that big change. He’s dedicated to reviving hope for the future.

Hope: And I’m very grateful for that.

Steffy: Good. Now, you and thomas are jetting off to rome together and we all know how liam feels about that. The question is, how do you feel about it? Head & shoulders is launching something huge.

Ridge: Well, this is a business trip and your mother understands that.

Thomas: No, I– I’m, I wasn’t trying to make it a deal. It’s just– just a thought.

Brooke: That’s understandable considering our history.

Thomas: Yeah. And it sounds like some of that history has resurfaced.

Brooke: You heard?

Thomas: About things kind of falling out between you and my mom? Yeah.

Brooke: Yeah. Well, it turns out that we don’t have the same perspective on what a friendship is.

Thomas: Yeah. It’s a– it’s a shame honestly because, uh, you know, your renewed friendship, it kind of brought peace and stability to our families.

Ridge: It did, it was nice.

Thomas: Yeah. I guess that’s, uh, it’s up to hope and me to keep that going.

Brooke: Uh, no, I mean, you don’t have to feel responsible for holding the families together. We’re all adults. We can do it ourselves.

Thomas: Sure. We can always just set an example though, right? Anyway, um, speaking of hope, I do have to speak to her about a few designs. Do you need me for anything?

Ridge: No, you go ahead. So, what was that? What was that look? You don’t think there’s something going on between hope and thomas, do you?

Wyatt: And you– you hit the jackpot when you convinced hope to marry you.

Liam: I know.

Wyatt: And I mean, she’s beautiful inside and out. She’s kind, compassionate, loyal–

Liam: Okay, relax.

Wyatt: I’m just saying that she’s fully committed to you and your family, okay? I mean, it wouldn’t even occur to hope to– to be unfaithful. She’s different than brooke.

Liam: You talking smack about my mother-in-law, dude?

Wyatt: No, I’m not saying anything bad about brooke. I’m just making an observation about her past. Look hope was– was surrounded by all that drama in her life. She probably made a conscious decision to do the complete opposite with hers. I’m just– I’m just saying that you don’t have anything to worry about with hope and thomas. Or hope or any other guy for that matter.

Liam: I know– I know that. I just still hate how much time they’re having to spend together, especially with this trip to italy coming up. Like, I– I– I’m sorry, I’m just, like, not capable of– of pretending thomas hasn’t done all the stuff he’s done in the past.

Wyatt: And you shouldn’T. I wouldn’T. I mean, just because thomas is going around saying, “I’m a changed man,” over and over and over again, doesn’t exactly make it true.

Liam: Yeah. Except everyone believes it, including my wife.

Wyatt: Well, she has to. At least until this new collection is off the ground, right? Who knows, maybe after she– she’ll have a major reassessment in life, right? She’ll– she’ll find a new lead designer after the pressure of survival is off.

Liam: Hm. Yeah. I mean, that would be ideal. I– I– I, you know, I definitely believe that– that thomas is the problem and– and– and he always has been. I just wish I could keep him away from hope.

Hope: How do I feel about thomas coming to the preview? I think he should be there. Absolutely. He’s devoted every minute to hope for the future and he’s a great leader. He’s had a good attitude. He deserves to have this moment. I mean, we deserve to have it. We’re a team.

Steffy: Have you shared that with liam?

Hope: Yes because I’m open and honest with my husband.

Steffy: I can’t imagine liam feels good about you and thomas working together indefinitely.

Hope: Well, does finn tell you how to run forrester?

Steffy: No.

Hope: Liam doesn’t tell me how to run my line. And right now, thomas is the best fit as a designer. So look, it’s all fine, steffy. Liam and I, we talk, we’re in a good place, and like I said, everything’s under control.

Steffy: I hope so.

Thomas: Is everything okay in here?

Hope: Great.

Thomas: Okay, ’cause it kind of feels like I walked in on something.

Steffy: Hope and I were just talking about your trip to rome. How happy she is that you’re gonna be there with her. Hmmm! Twix with cookie and cookie dough?

Brooke: Hm.

Ridge: You wanna try something for me?

Brooke: Hm?

Ridge: Let’s not worry about hope and thomas.

Brooke: Mm-hmm. They’ve changed, they’ve worked through it. Thomas is a different person. I’ve seen it. You’ve seen it and hope, she’s welcomed him back with open arms.

Brooke: I just want things to work out for both their sakes.

Ridge: All right, good. Let’s focus on that. Let’s take this show on the road all the way to rome. What do you say?

[ Brooke chuckling ]

Brooke: You know, I have a good feeling about this trip. It’s gonna be a game changer, for all of us. Just really looking forward to being alone with you.

Wyatt: I feel you, bro. I mean, you are– you are absolutely right not trusting thomas.  I mean, if you let your guard down, even for a second, it’s gonna be a huge mistake.

Liam: [ Scoffing ] Also… also, why does he have to be the only designer in L.A. That– that apparently can interpret hope’s vision?

Wyatt: Like I have no idea. I don’t buy it.

Liam: Yeah. Well, try telling hope that.

Liam: Listen, the– the thought crossed my mind, but I don’t wanna be that guy tagging along on his wife’s business trip. What? Like keeping tabs. Also, I kind of don’t want a front row seat to the hope and thomas show. Singing each other’s praises, clasping hands, taking a bow together like blegh.

Wyatt: That does sound nauseating. Bottom line is you have to trust hope, you have to trust your wife, all right? The last thing you wanna do is– is make her defensive or– or accuse her of something or assume anything. You don’t want to create any kind of issue whatsoever between you and her. Especially when she’s gonna go to rome with thomas.

Thomas: I am so excited about this fashion preview and I want to thank you so much for inviting me.

Hope: Well, you’re the lead designer, of course, you’re a part of it. I mean, you’ve done more work on it than anyone else.

Thomas: Except you.

Hope: Teamwork…

Thomas: Makes the dream work, yeah. Um, honestly, it’s– I think that this– this fashion preview and the press event, it’s gonna reposition hope for the future. You know, not just in a place at the forefront of the fashion industry, which it will be, but also as a way to make positive changes in the world.

Steffy: Both of you have worked very hard on the line for weeks now.

Thomas: More like months.

Steffy: Okay, months. And it needs to pay off and I won’t let anything or anyone get in the way of relaunching the line.

Thomas: Okay. Well, I can hear what you’re oh so nicely not saying. And you don’t have to worry. Hope and I know this is– this trip is just about business. Nothing else, right?

Hope: Right.

Steffy: Great. Well, I’m gonna go and get ready for rome.

Thomas: Okay. Bye. Oh, okay. Hey, um, don’t worry about my sister, right? She’s just being bossy and her being the boss actually makes it that much worse.

Hope: Yeah. Well, I’m used to steffy.

Thomas: Okay. Well, then don’t worry about liam. Look, I know that he is frustrated with us working together, but that’s coming from a place of him wanting you to be successful and loving you, right? And so, it’s okay what– the way we need to be successful is to work together and to go to rome together, right? So, let’s do that because it’s strictly about business and nothing else.

Hope: Yep.

Thomas: All right. Now, my sister, my dad, your mom, who, by the way, is going on the trip, you know that?

Hope: Yes, she told me.

Thomas: Liam, none of them, have anything to worry about. Tell me you believe that.

Hope: Yes, I believe you, thomas. I trust you.

Thomas: Okay. Well, I do have something I wanted to show you that I’ve been brainstorming.

Hope: Oh, okay.

Thomas: Um, it is something that I wanted to bring out the– the romance and the sex appeal of rome, right? It needs to be sort of this ancient idea…

Brooke: You know, I’ve been thinking, and our schedule is already pretty tight, but I’ve been talking to marco from our boutique in rome and he was suggesting that while we’re there, we should make time to see–

Ridge: Wait, I’m sorry, “our schedule and we,” what are you– what are you– what are you saying right now?

Brooke: You know I wanna go.

Ridge: Oh, you wanna tag along? Is that–

Brooke: Ridge, this is an important time for the company and also a very important moment for my daughter. So, yeah, of course I wanna be there.

Ridge: Okay.

Brooke: And tagging along? Give me a break. I am an important part of this company.

Ridge: I never said that you weren’T. You’re very important to the company, to me, and yeah, I’ll– but there’s not just gonna be fun and games, right? This is gonna be strictly business, not just for you and me… for hope and thomas.

Thomas: Okay. Promise to keep an open mind?

Hope: Always. Oh, thomas, you were right. It’S…

Thomas: You love it?

Hope: I do.

Liam: Thomas, thomas, thomas. One thomas, two thomas, red thomas, blue thomas. I am so– honestly, so sick of talking about thomas and thinking about thomas and worrying about thomas. I’m even sick of saying the name… tho– thomas. Thomas.

Wyatt: Oh, boy.

Liam: Thomas.

Wyatt: What’s– uh, what’s going on? Or I even wanna know?

Liam: What is going on? Nah, it’s all good. Everything’s great. So good. It’s, like, so good right now. It’s just, you know, he and my wife are jetting off to rome together. But it’s all good.

Brooke: So, when you say “strictly business” for hope and thomas, what does that mean exactly?

Ridge: You know exactly what it means. Thomas has been struggling for years with his feelings for hope and he’s figured it out now, right? He’s put it behind him. He’s changed his life and I’m very proud of him. And look at this, I mean, it shows in his work. All of this, it’s sophisticated, it’s elegant, it’s amazing, all of it. So, hope’s line is in very good hands. That’s all I’m saying.

Brooke: I certainly would love to believe that.

Wyatt: I’m sorry. They’re going to wha– what? Wha– oh. Wait, they’re– they’re going for the hope for the future press event, right? That they’re showcasing the new line.

Liam: Yeah, I mean, and you know how intense it gets right before a fashion preview, right? Longer nights, longer hours. Just take that intensity, put it in another country, multiply it by 1,000 and this is what you get. I mean, it’s just more time at the office, more time with thomas, and it’s all gonna crescendo with them going to italy together. It’s like, come on.

Wyatt: But, I mean, this can’t be a total surprise for you. Like, thomas is the lead designer and if hope of the future is going to rome, well, then… I mean, you had to have known that hope is gonna want thomas to go, too.

Hope: I say we put a rush on this. I mean, is there any possible way it could be ready for the preview?

Thomas: Oh, you mean, you love it that much?

Hope: I mean, I do. I mean, I think I can hear the actual audible gasps coming from the audience.

Thomas: I mean, yeah, if you’re wearing it, then they’re definitely gonna applaud.

Hope: You’re being kind.

Thomas: No, I’m not. I’m serious. It’s just honesty. I– you could wear a trash bag and they would still love it.

Hope: [ Laughing ] You know, I think you might have stumbled on our next collection.

Thomas: I think you’re right. Garb-aage chic.

Hope: Garbage chic.

Thomas: It’s gotta be garb-aage.

Hope: Garb-aage.

Thomas: Yeah.

Hope: So wrong to admit that I– that I am human?

Brooke: And what does that mean? Hope, come on, you’ve gotta be honest here.

Hope: I– I might have– have felt a little something.

Brooke: For thomas?

Hope: Yeah, yeah. But it’s fine. Mom, it’s fine. I can handle it. I don’t know.

Thomas: All right. Maybe it’s getting weird. Maybe we just stick with regular clothing.

Hope: Wait, no, no. Or we could incorporate it into our messaging and just have it be a sustainable fashion line.

Thomas: Oh, that’s fantastic.

Hope: There we go.

Thomas: Recycled material… febreze!

Wyatt: So, you basically asked hope to exclude thomas from the whole trip, flat out?

Liam: Yeah. And she basically told me to go kick rocks.

Wyatt: Well, yeah, the lead designer does have certain privileges. I’m– I’m not trying to rile you up here. It– it– it– it’s pesky facts. What– when’s the trip? Is it– is it coming up soon or–

Liam: Yeah, it’s soon. It’s, like, really soon. It’s– there’s a lot of momentum, probably too much for me to stop anything at this point.

Wyatt: Right. Well, um… it’ll probably be fine.

Liam: Really?

Wyatt: You know? Just be positive.

Liam: Yeah? You know how traumatized I was by hope and thomas going to san francisco together, and that was in the same state, in the same country, just for the day.

Wyatt: And the day almost turned into overnight.

Liam: Yeah, exactly. And look how stressful that was. Now I gotta picture the two of them in rome, italy together?

Wyatt: Yeah. One of the most romantic cities in the world.   I’m sorry, I’m sorry, that– that came out.

Liam: Wow.

Wyatt: I didn’t mean that to come out.

Liam: That wa– wow. Almost impressive how unhelpful that was.

Wyatt: [ Whispering ] Wow, I’m so– I’m sorry.

Ridge: And she wants that in rome? The one from today?

Thomas: Yes. I– I– I know it’s kind of ambitious, but I think we might be able to get it done. Also, I have another one. It’s– it’s sleeveless and I know I have a lot of sleeveless options, but I honestly think it’s so powerful.

Ridge: Okay, well, maybe the best option right now is to slow down a little bit. This may not be your last fashion show.

Thomas: [ Laughing ] Okay. I’m just– I know, I’m– I’m– I’m feeling really inspired. That’s it.

Ridge: Good. I like to see you like this. Energized. Makes me happy. But it also makes me a little nervous.

Thomas: Me being inspired?

Ridge: And energized. Yes. You know why? ‘Cause the last time I saw you like that… was when you were, um, obsessed with hope.

Thomas: Uh, right.

Ridge: But that’s behind us now, right? It’s– it’s past us. Makes me happy.

Thomas: Thank you. Means a lot. Um, and I understand why you feel how you do and you’re just– might still be concerned after what steffy said to you.

Ridge: We just don’t want you to fall back on the same pattern. If there’s any reason to think that hope has feelings for you–

Thomas: There isn’T. And she doesn’T. Trust me, dad. There’s nothing to worry about with hope and me going to rome together.

Brooke: Thomas didn’t have to leave, honey. Was it something I said?

Hope: No, no, not at all. He just wanted to find ridge ’cause he’s excited about his new design. I mean, it’s so impressive, mom. And thomas has been so motivated. It’s like he can’t shut off the creativity. He just keeps going and going even though he realizes it might not even be ready in time for italy. I mean, it doesn’t even matter at this point. It’s so gorgeous. It could– it can wait ’til next season. I mean, look, see for yourself. It’s beautiful.

Brooke: Yes, indeed. I mean, he does have his father’s talent, that’s for sure. I told ridge that I might wanna be there. You know, to help out and see the preview and watch your success.

Hope: Oh, I mean, that’s great. But you don’t have to if you don’t–

Brooke: Oh, honey, I want to. I am so proud of you. I want to be there for my daughter.

Hope: Aw.

Brooke: Besides, I think it would benefit you if I was there, in more ways than one. Well, I, uh… I could keep an eye on you and thomas. What’s the #1 retinol brand

Liam: I’m very aware of how romantic the city of rome, italy is. I don’t actually need you to remind me of that. So, thank you.

Wyatt: We haven’t even touched on the culinary aspect of it. I mean, who doesn’t fall in love over a nice authentic italian bowl of pasta and a great bottle of wine?

Liam: Bro, are you for real right now?

Wyatt: I’m just saying the city is vast. History is amazing and I just– I loved it there–

Liam: I’m sorry, do you understand the dynamic that, like, when I talk to you, you’re supposed to make me feel better–

Wyatt: I don’t mean to make you more upset. I don’t mean to rile you up more than you already are. Okay? I’m sorry. I am, truly. Look, I– I– I get– I get why you’re worried. Okay? You have every reason to be. I am glad that I am not in your shoes. But… maybe you could just try again? Talking to hope? Just addressing your very legitimate concerns about thomas? I mean, yeah, he’s important to the line. Great. It probably wouldn’t even be there without him. Fantastic. But who cares? Is– is it absolutely necessary for thomas to be there? Oh, I’ve got it. He can attend the event and he doesn’t even have to be there. Video conference him in, put him up on a big screen. He’ll love it. Ego and everything. People are doing it all the time. Embrace the technology.

Liam: That’s actually, like, a really good idea.

Wyatt: Yes.

Liam: And super outside the box.

Wyatt: You’re welcome.

Liam: Hope will never go for it.

Wyatt: What? Really? She’s that dead set on him being there? Are you sure? Are you sure there is nothing else that you can do to convince hope to tell thomas he can’t go?

Ridge: You know what, thomas? The more I think about it, the more I talk to you about it, the less concerned I am about you and hope.

Thomas: Really?

Ridge: Yeah. I don’t know, the idea of hope all of a sudden just falling for you and having feelings, it just seems a little silly. No offense.

Thomas: No, no, no, no, it’s none taken ’cause honestly, it– it sounds silly to me, too. I mean, hope is all about liam.

Ridge: It’s about liam, about her family, kids.

Thomas: Yeah.

Ridge: Not like her mom. Wait.

Thomas: Okay. [ Laughing ] Yeah, you probably maybe changed the phrasing there ’cause it kind of sounds like you’re throwing brooke under the bus.

Ridge: That’s not what I meant at all. It’s just, she’s a different person. Brooke, she follows her heart.

Thomas: Yeah.

Ridge: She also is gonna follow us to rome if that’s– is that okay?

Thomas: Yeah. Actually, that’S… no, that’s– that’s great.

Ridge: You sure?

Thomas: Yeah. No. Honestly, I think it’s– I think it’s awesome because, well, then brooke will be able to see hope and me working together as a team.

Hope: So, you want to come on this trip in order to be my chaperone?

Brooke: That’s not how I would put it.

Hope: Oh, you don’t trust me.

Brooke: No, I do trust you. I just don’t want you to make any mistakes. I mean, I am concerned.

Hope: Don’t be.

Brooke: Honey, am I supposed to just ignore the fact that you admitted to me that you have feelings for thomas?

Hope: Oh, my gosh, can we please not?

Brooke: And then, you backpedaled and you said you want to have nothing to do with him and that he’s manipulative. But then you told him something else.

Hope: Because it was a cruel thing to say. And I felt horrified that he overheard that.

Brooke: You felt horrified because I believe that you’re having growing feelings for him.

Hope: Do you know how hurtful that is? That– that you think I can’t control myself around a man that isn’t my husband?

Brooke: Honey. I just want you to be realistic.

Hope: I am. And staying true to my wedding vows, I don’t think we’re gonna have a problem there.

Brooke: Okay. I’m not judging you.

[ Hope scoffs ]

Brooke:  And I’m not saying there’s going to be a problem. I am just concerned and I know better than anybody what it’s like to get involved with the inappropriate man. And I am telling you, hope. Thomas would be that man for you.

Brooke: I just don’t want you to do something that you’re going to regret.

Hope: Mom, you should trust me.

Brooke: Honey. Do you understand the danger that you’re in?

Hope: Danger? What are you talking about?

Brooke: If there’s any feelings at all between you and thomas, that could be dangerous.

Hope: Wow. Uh, mom, this is a business trip and thomas and I, we’re work partners.

Brooke: Okay. That’s exactly what I’m talking about. You work together closely, you collaborate, you create. Honey, don’t you see? He’s the designer and you’re the muse. His muse. Don’t you see? This goes all the way back to the greek and roman mythology. And now you’re going to rome, the birthplace of all of that.

Hope: Mom, you are– you’re being ridiculous right now.

Brooke: Honey, the draw between an artist and his inspiration is very strong. It’s undeniable. And you both are going to the most romantic city in the world. I don’t know what’s going to happen. I just wish thomas didn’t have to go.

Hope: Thomas is the lead designer.

Brooke: Okay, I– I understand that. And he deserves to be in the spotlight just as much as you do. I just don’t want you to let your guard down. You need to respect your marriage to liam.

Hope: You don’t need to tell me that.

Brooke: I’m speaking from experience.

Hope: Yeah. Well, I’m not you.

Brooke: Oh, okay.

Hope: I’m sorry, mom. It’s just– this is– this is… it’s like no one believes anything that is coming out of my mouth. Everything is fine. Okay? Everything is under control. Liam: Honestly, I don’t know if– if there’s anything I can say at this point to convince hope. But you– but you– you’re right that I should try. I should– I should do everything I can to stop thomas from going to rome. Because if I don’T… I don’t know, man, I think trouble’s right around the corner.

Thomas: Having a lot of fun playing around with the colors.

Ridge: Do we have something like this?

Thomas: I think we do. Oh, yeah. Very, very close. It’s not exactly the same, but it’s, like, sapphire.

Ridge: What about here?

Brooke: Oh, hi, thomas.

Ridge: Hey.

Thomas: Hey.

Brooke: I saw your latest design. It’s very beautiful. I hope it can be ready for the preview.

Thomas: Oh, thank you. I do, toO. A preview for which I hear you might be joining us.

Brooke: Oh, yeah, I would like that very much.

Thomas: I was just telling dad what a great idea that’d be. That way you can see how great hope and i are together.

Thomas: What about the venue?

Carter: We’re working with the officials securing permits, it’s going to be epic.

Thomas: Amazing.

Ridge: Well, that’s good work, carter.

Carter: Pleasure’s all mine. Your designs, thomas, what I’ve seen deserves the biggest spotlight imaginable.

Ridge: Couldn’t agree more. Very proud of you, son.

Taylor: We both are.

Thomas: Aw, thank you so much. Look, honestly, I– confession, I, um– I didn’t know if my designs would be up to par. It’d been a minute since hope and I worked together, and I don’t know, I– I– I didn’t know if it’d be as good as the first time, but honestly, now, it’s like we never fell out of sync.

Carter: Yeah, but you proved yourself. You did the work, and now look at you, jetting off to rome with hope. The forrester dream team, taking the world by storm.

Liam: Maybe we should talk about thomas. I’ve been try– I’ve been trying not to bring it up because I also– I just don’t wanna get into a fight with you about it–

Hope: Look, I– i don’t want that either, liam. I understand why you are concerned about thomas. That makes total sense, but what I think the real issue is– is your trust in me.

Liam: No! No. It’s not– I– I trust you. Like, I– I don’t know how I can make that clear.

Hope: Okay, all right, so then trust my judgment in thomas.

Liam: Okay, there’s a difference between trusting your judgment and trusting your intentions. Where your judgment is concerned, it’s a fact that thomas has successfully manipulated you more than once.

Hope: I just– how many times do we have to go over this?

Liam: I don’t know how many times, un– until you acknowledge what thomas is capable of. Listen, hope, I– I’m– I’m so happy that your line has been saved and it’s thriving, and there is no bigger fan of hope for the future than I am, and I am proud of this opportunity you have in rome, but it’s your line. Thomas: Don’t worry, we’ll be ready.

Carter: Okay.

[ Phone ringing ] International. I should take this. Uh, touch base with you guys later.

Ridge: Uh, thanks for everything, carter.

Carter: Like I said, it’s my pleasure.

Thomas: Yes, sir.

Carter: Hello? That’s good news.

Thomas: Is it just me or is he more on fire than you?

Ridge: He’s always on fire, but no, he’s happy for you, he wants this to work. He knows how far you’ve come.

Taylor: Yes, we– we all do. No, especially– especially your relationship with hope.

Thomas: Well, I– I– I gotta say, I– I– I do understand how grateful I should be for being given another opportunity.

Taylor: Mm.

Thomas: Okay, you two, you have been giving each other looks ever since mom got here, so what’s goin’ on?

Ridge: Look, it’s– it’s a– it’s a big deal, you know? You and– and hope, you’re goin’ to rome. It’s big.

Thomas: I promise you, dad, I’m not gonna do anything to mess this up.

Taylor: No, it’s– it’s not you that we’re worried about, honey. It’s– it’s, um– it’s hope.

Ridge: There’s been a bit– there’s been a buzz goin’ around, you know.

Thomas: Buzz?

Ridge: You know, there’s been some talk. People saying that she might have feelings for you.

Hope: Thomas is my lead designer. He is responsible for so much of the hope for the future collection, and designers are at press events and fashion shows. And liam, you know this.

Liam: However, this is a unique and really weirdly complicated situation.

Hope: It’s a business trip.

Liam: I– I– I understand that you view it that way, and I believe you. But it’s also exactly the kind of opportunity thomas can, and has in the past, used to get close to you and manipulate you.

Hope: I can’t– I can’t do this. Okay, I– I don’t– I don’t wanna keep arguing this with you, liam. I just want you to understand that hope for the future is my life’s work!

Liam: I absolutely understand that, and I support you in that.

Hope: Okay, so then do you understand that I tried to find a designer that would make it work? I mean, eric, one of the most prolific designers to ever pick up a pencil, even he couldn’t interpret my vision as well as thomas could.

Liam: The designs are done, though. The dresses are made. You don’t need thomas for this next part.

Hope: Okay, I– I get that you have issues with thomas.

Liam: Of course I have issues with thomas. How could I possibly trust him after everything he’s done to us?

Hope: Because I do! I– I’m not some child, liam. I– I work with him every day, I’ve seen the changes that he’s implemented into his life, a– and the progress that he’s made, and not only that, he– he brings a certain artistry, a certain creativity to my line.

Liam: Hope, hope. I’m not asking you to get a new designer.

Hope: But you’re telling me not to bring thomas to rome. And I can’t do that.

Liam: You can’t or you won’t?

Hope: Liam, I don’t want to hurt you. But thomas is my lead designer. He is my partner, and… I can’t imagine being in rome without him. “Look at this skin, baby.

Thomas: Okay, what are the two of you asking me?

Ridge: We’re asking you if there’s any truth to hope being interested in you.

Thomas: You can’t be serious.

Taylor: Oh, we’re very serious, thomas. We know that you’ve changed. But if hope has feelings for you, then that–

Thomas: No, no, no, no. That’s– that’s ridiculous, though.

Taylor: Okay, normally, your father and i would agree with you, but–

Thomas: But you’re what? You’re gonna both get involved in office gossip?

Ridge: Well, that’s not office gossip. It came from your sister, it came from steffy.

Taylor: Yeah. Your sister has her suspicions.

Thomas: Suspicions or paranoia? Because lately, she’s been singularly focused on all the things hope does wrong.

Taylor: Okay, because she’s concerned.

Thomas: Okay, look. Steffy may have her own issues with hope, but it has nothing to do with me.

Thomas: Oh, relax. We’re not accusing you of anything. Your mom and I, we’re on your side.

Taylor: No, yes, and I’m sorry if it sounds like it is. I– we love you so much, and– and we know how hard you’ve worked to get to where you are, and we just don’t wanna see anything or anyone jeopardize that.

Thomas: Okay, well, all right, thank you. Um, hope and I have a great working relationship and we’re co-parents to douglas and that is it, okay? But as far steffy is concerned, maybe she’s just mixing up her signals, right? She’s got her care for me, and– and her issues that she’s got with hope.

Taylor: Okay. Okay. Well, that’s good. So there isn’t anything that hope has done to lead you on?

Thomas: Look, I– I know you’re both looking out for me and I appreciate your concern.

Ridge: Simple question, son.

Thomas: Hope and me work together. We’re co-parents together. That’s where it stops. There is no reason that either of you should have any concern about hope and me going to rome together.

Liam: I’m tr– I’m tryin’, hope, I’m really tryin’, but this is just– it’s– it’s eating me up. You were– you were just in san francisco with the guy, and you were this close to spending the night together.

Hope: Because the plane had mechanical issues?

Liam: I know. And now you’re going to rome. Of all places. I mean, it’s– it’s– it’s bad enough that you’ve been working with him every single day, after everything he’s done.

Hope: What he’s done is design a beautiful line for me, liam. That– that is what is happening here. He’s not manipulating me, he’s not sitting there biding his time. He is committed to hope for the future. And this could be one of the biggest showings of my entire career.

Liam: I believe that. I believe it will be. And you absolutely need to be there, but thomas does not. And do I really need to do the thing where I, like, list all the stuff he has done to us in the past?

Hope: No. No.

Liam: Are you sure?

Hope: Yes. I am sure. He didn’t just wish his way into being a better man. He actually put the work in, liam. He went to therapy. He developed tools to help him deal with his challenges. And all the while, he’s been nothing but a consummate professional with me.

Liam: Okay, but that– that’s the game that he always plays, right? He’s new and improved, until he gets you alone with him and then– why am I– why do I have to say this to you?

Hope: You shouldn’t have– I don’t want to go– keep going over this with you. And– and do I need to remind you that this is thomas’s collection, too? I mean, it is a forrester creations entity and the last time I checked, thomas’s last name is forrester. And I am not about to tell ridge that his own son can’t come.

Liam: Given everything we’ve been through, I think you absolutely could say that to ridge.

Hope: I don’t want to. Thomas is going to rome.

Liam: I, um… I– I don’t– I don’t know what to say. I’m– I’m– I’m at a loss here. I love you, I just– I don’t wanna see it happen again. I don’t wanna see you get hurt and betrayed all over again.

Hope: Yeah, you’re being protective of me.

Liam: Of course, I’m being protective of you.

Hope: Okay, I don’t need your protection, liam. All I’ve ever needed is your trust.

Liam: Trouble is brewing, hope. It’s brewing.

Hope: I need to go to the office.

Ridge: Well, here’s a little tea for that sexy voice you have.

Taylor: [ Laughs ] Yes, I’m just– I’m just trying to sound like your sexy voice.

Ridge: Ah, look at us.

Taylor: Hmm.

Ridge: This is not why you came to see me, is it?

Taylor: No. No, it’s not. I,ou I hated the way that we left things. You know, that whole– whole brooke situation, but this… this is not what I want to talk about right now. There’s more pressing issues. Yes, if– if what steffy is saying is– is true, about hope and–

Ridge: Well, let’s, uh– let’s think that maybe she’s overreacting, right?

Taylor: Thomas is strong.

Ridge: I know. I know he is, but if the person he’s interested in is all of a sudden interested in him, then that’s opening the door to somethin’, right?

Taylor: We gotta believe that– that he has this under control, right? He said there’s no reason to worry, so we’re not gonna worry. But we’re gonna keep our eyes open.

Ridge: Okay.

[ Liam sighs ]

[ Liam groans ]

Hope: I asked thomas

to come back

to hope for the future as lead designer.

Stop trying to protect us

from this man

that does not exist anymore.

He has changed,

and either you can accept that,

or just let it go.

If thomas is my lead designer,

he’s my partner,

and I can’t imagine

being in rome without him.

[ Heartbeat pounding ]

Thomas: Hey! What’s up?

Hope: Uh, not much. Just, uh, still trying to get ready for this preview.

Thomas: It’s kind of crazy. I just had a meeting with, uh, carter and my dad, and they’re honestly, it just sounds like that– that carter is just workin’ his butt off right now, and he’s fielding calls left and right from buyers and suppliers. It’s– ooh, it’s gonna be crazy. Hey. What is it? Is somethin’ wrong?

Hope: It’s–

Thomas: Hope, come on. Hey. We’re partners, right? You can talk to me.

Hope: Well, it’s just as predicted. Liam has an issue with us going to rome together.

Thomas: Well, I mean, I’m– I’m sorry to hear that, but can’t say I’m surprised.

Hope: Well, it just feels like nothing I ever say to him matters.

Thomas: That’s cause he doesn’t believe in me and I don’t know if he ever will.

Hope: But I do and that should count for something because I know the man you are better than he does.

Thomas: That means a lot. It really does, ’cause I mean, it’s just– it’s, uh, it’s amazing, having– having this. You know, our friendship and working together.

Hope: Well, we do make a really great team.

Thomas: I think so, too. So, what did you tell liam about the trip?

Hope: I told him that… you’re my lead designer, and it’s your collection, too. Not to mention it is a forrester creations line, and I think that’s your last name, so, yeah, family business, you kinda have to be there.

Thomas: Wow. Uh, that– god, that means so much to me.

[ Hope chuckles ] It really does. I mean, you saying these kind of things, ’cause like, I– obviously, I’ve– I made a lot of mistakes in the past, and for us to get to this place, that’s– that’s it, right? We’re– all that stuff’s in the past, and… we’ll prove that to liam, right? Because we’re gonna do a great job here. This collection, I mean, everyone is saying it’s gonna be hope for the future’s finest collection and I believe that. And this trip, hope, it could, uh, it could change our lives. Anyway, you have a lot of work to do and so do I. I’m gonna finish up this sketch, which by the way, I think you’re gonna love.

Thomas: It could change our lives.

Ridge: I know, carlo. That’s beautiful. It is. E’ perfetto.Ie. All right. Ciao, carlo. Ciao, ciao. Carlo says hello in a special way and I’m very sorry.

Brooke: No, I could listen to you speak italian every single day.

Ridge: And I’m sorry our conversation got interrupted.

Brooke: Oh, don’t worry. You’re doing what you can to make hope’s preview a success and I love you for that. Besides, haven’t we apologized to each other enough? I don’t want to have to say “I’m sorry” to you one more time. And my relationship with taylor may be a bust, but it did teach me to find happiness within myself and I wanna share that happiness with you. We’ve been apart too long, ridge. It is time that I reunite with the love of my life.

[ Taylor sighing ]

Steffy: Can I get you anything? Iced tea?

Taylor: Oh, gosh. Maybe– maybe something with honey. I was screaming so loud, I lost my voice. Are the kids home?

Steffy: Uh, no. Story time at the library and finn is at the hospital, so it’s just us. How you doing?

[ Taylor exhaling ] I know you didn’t really want to get into it at the office, so…

Taylor: I am hurt. I’m– I’m– I… brooke was just accusing me of all kinds of things and… I’m sure she’s still talking to ridge right now.

Steffy: And that worries you because you want to be with him? You want dad back.

Hope: Um, hey. We need to have a talk.

Thomas: Okay, but if this is about our parents.

Hope: Did you know about what your mother did to my mom?

Thomas: Yeah, my mom was here and she was pretty upset. Um, but I don’t wanna get involved in that.

Hope: Okay, well I’m– I’m not trying to come at you at all, I just don’t want all that to affect us.

Thomas: Yeah, right, so let’s just let them work it out.

Hope: But taylor did betray my mom and I can’t just ignore that.

Thomas: Okay, but there’s no reason– there’s no reason to get mixed up in these things.

Hope: Well, unfortunately, I think I already am involved, annoying. Did I ever tell you about my mom agreeing to go on that date with hollis?

Thomas: No. Is that– is that the guy from the restaurant?

Hope: The waiter, yeah.

Thomas: Okay.

Hope: So I thought that taylor was just setting them up out of the goodness of her own heart, being a good friend, but really, she was purposefully trying to do that, and when that didn’t work out, she then started to push my dad my mom’s way.

Thomas: Okay, but you don’t want your parents together?

Hope: Well, no, I just– I don’t want them being manipulated by taylor just so she can make a beeline to your father.

Taylor: My intentions to set brooke up on dates and do all that, that was never nefarious.

Steffy: But mom, I’m not asking that. I’m asking if you want dad back.

Taylor: But see, brooke and I– brooke and I swore off your father, we both did, and then something happened and I started to realize, maybe she’s not keeping her side of the pact, so then, I went to deacon, and yes, I did push him, but that doesn’t mean that I was manipulating her this entire time, but she keeps going on with that.

Steffy: Mom, okay, I– I believe you. I believe you. And brooke is in no position to be pointing fingers, especially with her shady behavior and her shady history. I’m just trying to make sense of this all. It’s a shock. It is a shock. You still want a future with dad.

[ Taylor sighing ]

Ridge: You and taylor told me you wanted nothing to do with me.

Brooke: Well, I just, uh, I needed some time, you know? I needed some space to figure out what it was that I truly wanted. What makes me happy. And yes, every relationship has ups and downs, but you and I, everything that we’ve shared together, that’s forever. Our love is eternal. My a1c was up here; now, it’s down with rybelsus.

Hope: My mom doesn’t need me to defend her and I don’t want you to have to feel like you need to defend your mother either.

Thomas: I’m sorry this is going on. I really am.

Hope: I just– I feel naive. I mean, I actually thought their friendship might last.

Thomas: Yeah, I think we all did, but I’m not ready to give up on it yet. I mean, look, things weren’t exactly great between us recently.

Hope: Hm. But see you earned my trust back, whereas your mom is doing the opposite.

Thomas: Well, we knew everything would get complicated when my dad came back into town. That doesn’t have to interfere with us.

Hope: No, I agree. I don’t want to get in the middle of it.

Thomas: No, that’s really my dad’s place.

[ Both laughing ] Look, I’m not gonna let any of this derail what’s going on with us and the line.

Hope: [ Chuckling ] Well, we can’t let it because we have rome coming up and the showing and I’m already nervous enough as is having to get up on that stage.

Thomas: No reason to be nervous. You’re gonna be terrific. I think we should take our cue from rj. Not get involved in any of the drama because I don’t want any of that to jeopardize our success.

Taylor: Thank you. You know, I never stopped loving your dad.

Steffy: Oh, I know.

Taylor: And you know, that’s not what the pact was about with brooke. It wasn’t about loving your dad. It was about honesty and transparency when it came to him.

Steffy: Yeah, but you weren’t cutting dad out of your life.

Taylor: But I tried to. I was convinced I had. I was moving on. I was done. It’s– it wasn’t just about me, you know, wanting to be with you dad.

Steffy: But you still want to be with him, mom.

Taylor: Do you think that we make each other happy?

Steffy: I think you guys are great together. You have this special connection. But does this mean your friendship with brooke is over?

Taylor: Oh, yeah. I have tried so hard to push down my feelings for your dad, but now I don’t need to anymore. God, even after everything we have been through… I still adore him.

Steffy: Well, he adores you.

Taylor: Yeah, I can only imagine what brooke is saying to him right now because I am– I am certain that– that she wants him back too.

Brooke: Look, taylor and i choose ourselves for a lot of reasons, but we weren’t rejecting you, ridge.

Ridge: Mm, you chose your futures without me.

Brooke: Uh, our futures without the pain and conflict that our tug of war caused.

Ridge: I hurt you both. I know.

Brooke: Yeah, you did. You abandoned our marriage without any explanation whatsoever, and I couldn’t even do anything to fix things. You took off and proposed to taylor.

Ridge: And I hate that I did that.

Brooke: Well, it didn’t end well for her either.

Ridge: It didn’t really work for any of us, did it?

Brooke: Uh, we did get something out of it.

Ridge: You guys did. Yeah, you had a great friendship for a little while. What did I get? Got kicked to the curb and that’s it. It’s just that– that stung a little.

Brooke: Ridge, you have to understand. I mean, we got caught up in the emotion of it, of taking control of our lives. Can you imagine?

Ridge: And I’m not– no, I’m not attacking you. I– I like that you stood up for yourself. It’s– it’s good. I respect it.

Brooke: Okay. I mean, looking back, I– I could have done things differently. Not the part where I chose myself, but the part where I chose taylor as a friend. That was miscalculated. Hm. That’s why… I just wanna focus on us and the possibility of the life that we can share together. – Bedtime!! – Bedtime.

Thomas: If you don’t have any more changes, I wanna get this one over to the patternmaker.

Hope: Thomas, it’s beautiful. I mean, the movement.

Thomas: I knoW. I wanna get it in production for rome.

Hope: This gown with that backdrop. I mean.

Thomas: I know. Did you see the photos that katie sent? It’s breathtaking.

Hope: I know. The entire trip is gonna feel that way. I mean, it’s like, something out of my wildest dreams.

Thomas: Yeah, mine too.

Hope: It’s exciting.

Thomas: Yeah. Well, it’s, uh– it’s the kind of reveal that this collection deserves.

Hope: Well, I’m glad you’re gonna be there.

Thomas: Yeah, me too. Um, I don’t mean to bring things down at all, but…

[ Thomas chuckling ] Is liam okay with us going to italy together?

Taylor: I don’t want to feel insecurity and doubt and–

Steffy: Yeah, that never does any good.

Taylor: No, it doesn’t, and it’s not necessary. You know, even if brooke is spewing her best logan logic to try and make a case for herself with your dad.

Steffy: You don’t think dad will be convinced.

Taylor: I don’t know. I– I am– I am done explaining and defending myself. I… I– I have better things to think about right now. Just you and thomas and my grandkids and how amazing this trip to rome is going to be for thomas.

Steffy: I know. This preview is gonna take thomas to a whole new level.

Taylor: You know what I did? I, um, I mentioned to your dad that maybe I would like to go. That I would like to be there with you and thomas in rome.

Steffy: Me, thomas and… dad.

Brooke: Don’t you see, ridge? There’s no more misunderstandings. No more obstacles between us. It’s almost like a clean slate and rj is back in town with us.

Ridge: Rj’s back. No, it’s great. Things are better. The kids are safe and they’re thriving.

Brooke: Mm-hmm. And we could be too.

Ridge: We’re doing okay.

[ Brooke chuckling ]

Brooke: We’re doing okay, yeah. We’re doing better than okay, I think. We just, um, we just need some time alone.

Ridge: I love that idea, love time alone with you, but let’s try to be realistic for a moment. You told me you didn’t want me in your life anymore. That you want to put yourself first and I don’t want to disrupt that. You just said no more apologies, right? And I’m with you. Let’s not apologize anymore. The best way to do that is to not put ourselves in a situation where we have to apologize. And stop hurting each other and stop doing whatever we did over the years to tear us apart. I love you so much, that’s never gonna change. We gotta be honest with each other. You gotta be honest with you. Do we have enough to make this work? Give this another shot? Or is this just something that we do because it’s easy? Because it’s– it’s a nice, comfortable place to land? Because we’ve called this home for so long.

Hope: Don’t worry about liam.

Thomas: So, liam knows I’m gonna be in rome?

Hope: I told him not to worry about you, and so you don’t worry about him.

Thomas: The trip’s gonna be intense.

Hope: Okay. So then, we should focus on the work and if I have issues at home, then that is where I will handle them.

Thomas: Okay. Rome is a go. Moving on. Um, if we want to speed up production on this, honestly, we could take out some of the detail on the edge.

Hope: No, no, no. But I love that.

Thomas: No, look, promise. If you just take out the external part–

[ Hope’s heart thumping ] We could just make it a much smaller patch here and that’ll be so much faster for them to fix up.

Taylor: You know, thomas is making such a huge impact on the fashion world. I’m just– I’m just so proud of both of you.

Steffy: Yeah, I just wanna make sure hope for the future is a huge success.

Taylor: Yeah, I hope that italy is a huge success for everybody.

Steffy: So, you’re really thinking about coming along?

Taylor: I mean, it would– it would be nice. I would love to be there when your brother’s designs are unveiled.

Steffy: Well, katie is still working on the list and the guests and travel–

Taylor: I can’t– I– I– I haven’t– I haven’t got that far in my head. It’s just a thought right now. Of course, I’d love to be there right now with you and thomas. It would be great to connect with ridge.

Steffy: As a couple.

Taylor: Look, I’m just– I’m just saying that it would be really nice to– to clear the air with him.

Steffy: And you know, I really like that you and dad are still so close and the love is still there, but, um, this time, I’m not gonna push. I’ve learned my lesson. So, know that I support you, but, uh, like you said, who knows?

Ridge: You told me not too long ago that we’re not teenagers anymore. That we can’t just follow our impulses.

Brooke: What? I said that?

Ridge: Oh, you said that. I remember because you were wearing that little blue number and it’s just burned into my brain. I don’t know why.

[ Brooke chuckling ]

Brooke: Yeah, that’s right. I remember. I– I remember that night. That was after dinner.

Ridge: After dinner and things were getting a little interesting and you sent me home. Sent me to dad’s house.

Brooke: What? What was I thinking?

Ridge: You were thinking that we’re grown-ups, and that there are repercussions to the actions that we have and that’s why I want to be a grown-up right now. The last thing I want to do is hurt you. Do I– do I wanna be with you and– and play with you? Yes, absolutely, I wanna do that, but I also know our history and I know the things that have happened and that changes things. I used to have all the answers to everything. Now, I know nothing. I live at my dad’s house. I’m lost.

Brooke: Ridge, you’re not lost. I mean, we all feel that way sometimes.

Ridge: That’s my point. So, maybe this whole thing about destiny, maybe that’s just some word that some writer came up with because he didn’t know what to do with his characters at the end of the book. I don’t know.

Brooke: What?

Ridge: I love the life that we had, the love that we had for each other, for our kids. That’s eternal. That’s never gonna go away.

Brooke: Okay, good. Good. But what about the passion? What about that? Because I know that’s still there. I feel it and I know you feel it too, so I need you, ridge, and you need me. I see that little glint in your eye, that mischievous little smile, so I know you believe it too because it’s the passion and the fire that we have had forever, and that is not going anywhere. That is going to be there no matter what. And I meant it. I really did. I meant it when I said, “I need you.” And you, big guy, you need me. Come here.

Ridge: All right, everyone just take a breath. Why are we fighting here? What’s going on?

Brooke: Taylor has been playing me for months.

Taylor: Stop it, brooke! That is not true!

Brooke: Oh, god!

Taylor: That is not true!

Brooke: It is true. She broke our pact, ridge. She destroyed our friendship. She used me, and the only reason she did that was to get to you.

[ Restaurant chatter ]

Hope: Hey, hello again.

Deacon: Hey.

Hope: Hey, dad.

Deacon: Hi, hope.

Hope: You okay? You seemed a million miles away.

Deacon: Yeah, I wish. Uh, I don’t suppose you have a space shuttle I can borrow?

Hope: [ Laughs ] Uh, no? Why, what’s going on?

Deacon: It’s about your mother.

Thomas: All right. This is the one I was telling you about. What do you think?

Steffy: I think it’s stunning.

Thomas: Well, I’ve kind of changed up everything. The– the color, I revamped the bodice, and it was all last minute, but I just had to go with my gut.

Steffy: Well, it’s paying off. Look at it now.

Savannah: It’s one of my all-time favorites, thomas.

Thomas: Thank you. Yeah, I, um– I kind of decided to do the floral thing.

Thomas: You know, I was gonna go with a solid color, but I feel–

Steffy: No, no, you can’t go wrong with florals. Hope’s gonna love it.

Savannah: Hope loves everything thomas does.

[ Thomas chuckles ]

Savannah: You and hope work great together. So in sync, almost as if you were a couple.

Steffy: Okay, well, thank you, savannah. Uh, thomas and I, we actually have a meeting, so, if you don’t mind, um…

Thomas: Can you let alterations know this is a go?

Savannah: Of course. No problem.

Thomas: Yeah, thank you so much for your help.

[ Steffy sighs ]

[ Door shuts ] Don’t freak out.

Steffy: Don’t freak out?

Thomas: Yeah, savannah was just making a harmless remark.

Steffy: So, she’s not sensing a vibe with you and hope?

Thomas: There’s no vibe to pick up on, okay? What she said was just completely random. There’s nothing to worry about when it comes to hope and me.

Hope: Okay, so, what do you mean by that? Why is there an issue with mom?

Deacon: Well, I guess you’re gonna find out eventually.

Hope: Find out what?

Deacon: I tried to get with your mom. I– you know, I asked her if there was a chance of us having a future together.

Hope: You did?

Deacon: Yeah. And she shut me down very nicely.

Hope: I’m sorry, dad.

[ Deacon scoffs ]

Deacon: I just– it was stupid.

Hope: No, it’s– it’s not– it wasn’t stupid. You two shared a very special bond once upon a time.

Deacon: A long time ago. But you know what? I got the very best gift possible out of it. I got you. I should know by now that your mother doesn’t want anything besides friendship, and I– I never would have even reached out to brooke if I hadn’t listened to…

Hope: Uh, uh, listened to who?

Deacon: Taylor.

Taylor: No, no, no, she is– she is– she’s making– do you– you– you are making…

Brooke: So ridiculous.

Taylor: …Things up, brooke. What you’re saying isn’t even true.

Brooke: No, no, no. You know what? I know exactly who you are. Okay? She was pretending to have a friendship with me when all she really wanted, ridge, was you.

Taylor: Stop it, just stop! None of that is true.

Brooke: Taylor, you are not digging yourself out of this one.

Taylor: Okay.

Brooke: You know what she’s doing, ridge? She is setting me up with other men, so that she could have a clear path to you.

[ Exhales in frustration ] Your hair is damaged,

Steffy: Thomas, I have heard those words before.

Thomas: Okay, nothing is going to happen.

Steffy: I know you believe that.

Thomas: It’s not even a thought in my head.

Steffy: Yeah, maybe not in your head.

Thomas: Okay, look, hope and i are too focused on the line, uh, to care about anything else. We’ve got italy coming up, and– and douglas and anything besides that, not on our minds. But you can be as paranoid as you want.

Steffy: Oh, okay. So, as– as co-ceo of a multibillion-dollar company, I’m just being paranoid? Gotcha.

Thomas: I get it. I get it. You– look, we– we all have a lot going on, and with rome coming up, we’ve got the fashion preview and press events.

Steffy: Yeah, it’s a lot. There’s a lot on the line, thomas. And not just financially. Durability, reputation. Your reputation.

Thomas: I understand what’s at stake as much as anyone, okay? But I’m not gonna do anything to jeopardize hope’s line or her marriage.

Hope: That’s shady. Oh, taylor trying to set up mom with you or hollis so she could go snag ridge. That is…

Deacon: Just ’cause it looks like a duck, and walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck…

Hope: Okay, dad…

Deacon: Smells like a duck…

Hope: I mean, I know a little more about taylor than you do, and I know that playbook, and this is certainly a page straight out of it.

Deacon: I just hate to think the worst of her, I mean, I’m not trying to throw her to the wolves here, okay? But, I mean, taylor definitely broke your mother’s trust.

Hope: No, they had a pact, and– and mom was loyal to that agreement.

Deacon: Oh, I don’t know, I– I don’t think the two of them are gonna be agreeing on much of anything in the near future.

Hope: No kidding. I mean, do you think taylor was ever mom’s friend to begin with or, like, has she been planning this the entire time? I don’T…

Deacon: I– you know, I– who knows? I– I– I don’t think so.

Hope: This is wild. I mean, does mom know? Someone has to tell mom.

Deacon: Oh, don’t you worry your pretty little head. Yep. She knows.

Hope: You told her?

Deacon: No. No, no, no. She figured it out by herself.

Hope: That’s sad. That’s sad. It’s like, one step forward, 10 steps back.

Deacon: I think, probably, right now, as we’re speaking, taylor and brooke are duking it out.

[ Whispers indistinctly ]

Taylor: I don’t wanna fight with you, brooke.

Brooke: Mm-hmm. You should have thought of that before you double-crossed me.

Taylor: Oh. Oh, okay. That is not what I was doing.

Brooke: [ Laughs ] Oh, really? What would you call it then?

Taylor: I would call it “retaliating,” because I knew that you didn’t keep your side of the pact.

Brooke: Will you stop?

Taylor: No.

Brooke: Stop with all your excuses, okay?

Taylor: Oh, my god.

Brooke: You’ve been scheming this for months. All those lunches at il giardino.

Brooke: You were trying to set me up with hollis. And when I told you that that just wasn’t gonna happen, then you went to deacon, and suddenly, deacon is calling me out of the blue trying to make a move on me.

Ridge: Why would deacon think he had a– a shot at you? I don’t understand.

Brooke: Oh, well, because of things that taylor said to him. I mean, she urged him to go after me. She said that, “this is your chance. This is your opportunity to be with brooke since ridge is off limits.”

Taylor: That is true. But that didn’t all happen at once. Brooke, I spent so much time with you and deacon when we would go to the restaurant. That’s how that started, and I actually saw a connection, so don’t start trying to make this into something that it’s not.

Brooke: Just stop already. You set deacon up for heartache, and you sold me down the river, all because you wanted to clear your future with ridge. Clear the path to ridge. That’s what you wanted. Hope: Well, this is a disappointing development.

Deacon: Hmm.

Hope: Mom must be really upset.

Deacon: She’s definitely hurt and she feels betrayed by taylor.

Hope: Well, she should. I mean, a world-renowned psychiatrist. Please. I mean, pushing two people together, knowing that you have a soft spot for mom, and she not only used mom, but she used you.

Deacon: All right, wait, hang on a second, I didn’t get used, I’m a big boy, I knew what I was doing, all right? I figured, “what the hell, why not give it another shot? I got nothing to lose.”

Hope: No, that family is beyond frustrating. I mean, taylor and steffy, they’re hypocrites. They are. They always give me and mom a hard time about being logans when taylor went and betrayed mom. Please, I hope this entire thing blows up in her face.

Taylor: Okay. I– I know that this doesn’t look good for me right now, and I get that. But what I did was not all… manipulative and shady.

Brooke: Yeah. Keep telling yourself that.

Taylor: Yeah, brooke, I will. You know, maybe, with a little bit of time… once you’re not so angry… maybe, you can see this, um, from a different perspective. I– I– I trusted you and our friendship, too. But it’s over now, right?

Brooke: Yeah. Yeah. Pretty much seems that way.

Taylor: It does.

Brooke: I mean, when you had deacon call me to come over to il giardino, you were here talking with ridge and trying to secure your future with him.

Taylor: Uh-huh.

Brooke: Isn’t that right?

Taylor: Well–

Brooke: I mean, I happened to overhear some of your conversation, ridge, to…

[ Chuckles ] So much for vowing to not fight over ridge, right?

Taylor: Well, yeah, you have your part in that, too, but yes, that is– that is true. I hate this.

Brooke: I hate this, too. I mean, we’ve made peace, taylor. We vowed to be friends. I just never expected this from you.

Taylor: Oh, god.

Brooke: My friend, taylor.

Ridge: Can I talk to, uh, brooke in private for a minute?

Taylor: Okay, that’s a good idea, but don’t let all the stuff she’s saying make you think worse of me.

[ Brooke laughs sarcastically ]

Brooke: Yeah.

Taylor: You haven’t heard both sides.

Ridge: We’ll talk later.

Taylor: Okay.

Ridge: I can see how hurt you are.

Brooke: I am hurt. I mean, I… I just feel so gullible, and so blindsided.

[ Brooke scoffs ] I don’t know, I– I don’t want to talk about taylor and how she– how she, uh, broke my trust.

Ridge: Okay.

Brooke: But I would like to talk about… you and me. And what our future looks like from here. When it comes to your hair, ingredients matter.

Thomas: We are heading to italy. So, this should be an exciting time for the family, for the company, and for hope for the future.

Steffy: It is. Rome is a magical place, and I have watched people get swept up in the beauty and romance of it all.

Thomas: Okay, but not hope and me, right? Because we are just colleagues. We– we work together, and that’s it. Strictly professional.

Steffy: Yeah, I know that’s your intention.

Thomas: I promise to you that nothing’s going to happen, and I’ll back it up. If something ever did happen, I’ll buy you a new car.

[ Steffy chuckles ] I’ll buy you a new house. That’s how confident I am nothing’s going to happen. I promise there will be no drama in italy.

Niente.

Steffy: I– I can’t help, but be apprehensive, and I’m not trying to rain on your parade or anything.

Thomas: Okay. Rome is going to be awesome. We are the talk of the town, right? Why can’t you just have some faith, and know that everything’s gonna be okay?

Steffy: Hope you’re right.

[ Door clicks open ]

Thomas: Mom.

Taylor: Hi.

Thomas: Perfect timing, actually. I have some sketches I want to show you.

Taylor: Oh, good. I– I wanna see the sketches.

Steffy: What’s going on with you? You seem upset.

Taylor: No. No, I– I don’t want to… I– I just– I don’t want to–

Thomas: Mom, obviously, something’s going on, what’s up?

Steffy: Tell us.

Taylor: Brooke and i got in a fight.

Steffy: Like, physical?

Taylor: Yeah. Well, kind of. Yeah, um, then, your– your dad walked in on it.

Thomas: Okay, what were you fighting about?

Steffy: Yeah, I thought you two were super close.

Taylor: Me, too. Um, she thinks that I broke the pack, and I think it was the other way around. It’s complicated, uh… but I did end up forcefully suggesting to deacon that he reach out to brooke and, uh, try to make a life with her. Which initially, was– was because they’re– they’re cute together, and I thought it would be a good idea, but anyway, uh, long story short, um… brooke is accusing me of– of scheming.

Steffy: Wait, but hope is trying to… she’s been trying to get her parents back together for years. What’s the difference?

Thomas: Yeah.

Steffy: Timing. And because it’s coming from me. So, brooke found out, and she’s accusing me of trying to get her out of the way, so that… I can be with your dad.

Thomas: Okay, so, um, what does this mean? Does this mean that your pact with brooke is over?

Taylor: Over. It’s– it’s done.

Steffy: And does that mean you now wanna… be with dad again?

Taylor: I have never not wanted your dad.

Brooke: Oh, god! The nerve of her! You have every reason to be upset. But I gotta tell you, I find it really hard to think that taylor is as calculating as you think she is.

Brooke: Yeah, yeah, well…

[ Laughs ] Oh, ridge. There is so much going through my head right now. I– I can’t even begin to tell you. But I– I don’t wanna waste any more time thinking about taylor. I want to focus on you and me and our future together. I never thought that this would be a possibility again. But I want you to know… that I never stopped thinking about you. Never stopped wanting you. Longing for you. Wanting you back home with me. I can’t believe it. I, uh– I chose myself, and I chose a friendship– a friendship with taylor… over the man that… the man, you. Over you, a man that I’ve loved most of my life.

Ridge: Yes, we’ve been through a lot. And we’re here. But honestly, do you… you really still believe in eternal love? Because I don’T.

Brooke: I do believe in eternal love. And I still believe in our destiny.

Taylor: A back-stabbing traitor, me? Listen to me, brooke–

Brooke: You betrayed me. All this time, you pretended you wanted to be friends and bury the past.

Taylor: I did.

Brooke: All this time you were really just manipulating me. You were biding your time, waiting ’til I fully trusted you, just to stab me in the back. How could you? Really, how could you be so deceitful? Setting me up with deacon so that you– you could be with ridge.

Hollis: Alec just called, he’s not gonna be able to make his shift. His wife’s in labor. What do you want to do? Boss?

Deacon: What? What? Huh?

Hollis: I just said we’re down a waiter and you didn’t hear a word I said. What’s going on with you?

Deacon: I think I might have started something.

Ridge: Through all these years, you still haven’t lost your touch. These are amazing.

Eric: Thank you, my boy. I appreciate that. But that’s not the only reason I asked you in here. Like how are things with– with brooke and taylor? How’s that going?

Eric: You know how much I love having you staying at the house with me. You know that. I’m enjoying that.

Ridge: I’m enjoying it also.

Eric: Yeah, but I’m thinking that maybe it’s almost time for you to move on with your life–

Ridge: We had this conversation. It’s not all up to me–

Eric: I know. It’s all about this thing between brooke and taylor. I understand. So, what’s going on with that? Has anything changed?

Taylor: I think about

falling asleep in your arms

and waking up next to you.

I just miss the little things,

the simple things.

I miss you.

Ridge: Actually…

Eric: Act– actually what?

Ridge: One of the ladies came out and told me how she really feels.

Eric: Brooke.

Ridge: So close, taylor.

Hollis: You think you started something?

Deacon: Yeah, brooke was in here before.

Hollis: Yeah, I saw her head out.

Deacon: After I told her how I felt about her, again. I asked her if there was a chance that we could have a life together.

Hollis: Well– well what did she say?

Deacon: Don’t worry. She shot me down, nicely.

Hollis: Join the club.

Deacon: We’re getting t-shirts made.

Hollis: We should.

Deacon: I just don’t know why, I don’t know why I listened to her.

Hollis: To brooke?

Deacon: No, to taylor.

Taylor: There was a build-up of things that happened, brooke. And if you would hear me out, you would understand. Exactly why I—

Brooke: No, no, no no! Stop it! I don’t want to hear your excuse.

Taylor: Of course you don’T.

Brooke: I heard what you said to ridge. Damn it, taylor. God, I thought we were on a new path. I thought we were doing something different. Showing our children that rivalries can be overcome and something beautiful and wonderful and fulfilling can come out of that. Like our friendship. But obviously, I was wrong. You didn’t put any of that past you. All you were doing was biding your time, waiting for a chance to make a move on ridge.

Taylor: Oh, my god. Just admit it already. Admit it that you sent deacon in my direction so that it would clear your path to ridge.

Taylor: Hold on a second. Just– just, ho– [ Grunts ] Because you’ve been so honest and so transparent, right? Okay, I’ll do the same. You know what I simply, uh, pointed out that you and deacon share a history together. Something that maybe the two of you could consider.

Brooke: Oh, god, right. I don’t believe for a second that you were looking out for my best interest. You went to ridge behind my back. You went to him and you poured your heart out to win him back. You set me up with deacon so that it would clear your way to ridge. Hey! It’s your dry skin.

Eric: Taylor came to you. You didn’t encourage her in any way, did you?

Ridge: No, no, no, dad. I didn’t encourage her. They– they… said that their friendship was a priority and i wasn’t gonna interfere with that. Then taylor came to me out of the blue.

Eric: What exactly did she say to you?

Ridge: What didn’t she say? She– she said she misses our family and– and how proud she is of thomas and steffy. And she may have pitched the idea of her going to rome with us.

Eric: So she wants you back?

Hollis: Taylor? What does she have to do with this?

Deacon: Everything. I– look, a little while back, brooke and taylor, they’re in here. So, you know, I go over to the table and I start chit-chatting with them. You know, I’m being my usual devastatingly charming self. And taylor is just like watching me and brooke. You know, the easy way that we relate to each other, bonding over hope, but it wasn’t until brooke left that taylor started talking.

Hollis: About what?

Deacon: Just, you know, the– the bond that brooke and I have, hope, you know, our past love, how it’s always gonna connect us. I didn’t get it at first either. I didn’t get it at first until taylor said that I should go for brooke.

Taylor: Okay. Um, are you just gonna keep talking and talking or are you going to hear me out?

Brooke: Why should I? So you can justify what you’ve done?

Taylor: What I did, I did because… oh my god, I– I was– I was just trying to help.

Brooke: Help? Who, me, you or deacon? Because, you know, I spoke with him.

Taylor: Yes, I know that you spoke with him and… you– you misunderstood what I said to deacon.

Brooke: No, your intentions were crystal clear.

Taylor: I’m telling you, brooke, um, it’s not what you think, okay? Look… I value you.

Brooke: Mm-hmm.

Taylor: And our friendship.

[ Brooke laughs ]

Brooke: That’s funny.

Taylor: Is it– is it funny? I– I– I, I would never do anything to intentionally jeopardize that.

Brooke: Yeah.

Taylor: I felt very hurt and very ruffled, I guess, whenever you– uh, you– you didn’t tell me about your concerns for your daughter. And you were making my son the villain in your story, still.

Brooke: What are you talking about? That had nothing to do with ridge–

Taylor: Oh no, wait for it. Because… see, I– I kept thinking if– if brooke is not being honest and transparent with me about this, what else is she hiding from me? And that has everything to do with ridge?

Brooke: Oh, wow. Okay. Um, this is crazy. I valued our friendship, taylor, but what you did, how you went to hollis to come after me and then you sent deacon in my direction. I mean, how– how? Oh, I don’t know how foolish I was to even listen to you.

Taylor: I was just trying to help. That’s all I was trying to do.

Brooke: You weren’t trying to help.

Taylor: Well–

Brooke: You were actually just trying to help yourself. You see, I let my guard down and I trusted you 100% and you took advantage of that. So, I don’t know why I actually trusted you. I mean, I never thought that my B.F.F. Would do something like this to hurt me and deceive me this way, but that is exactly what you did, taylor.

Taylor: Okay.

Brooke: No and it’s–

Taylor: Okay. All right, you’re– you’re gonna do this. All right. No, it’s– that’s not how it happened.

Brooke: I’ve been hurt by people before in the past. People that I trusted, but nothing felt quite like this. I thought that we were doing something different. I really did. I thought that we had a pact. We chose ourselves and we wanted to do better for our children, for our lives and I never ever imagined for one second that you would take our friendship and just toss it aside like it was garbage! My a1c was up here; now, it’s down with rybelsus.

Hollis: Taylor made her pitch and you– and you ran with it?

Deacon: I mean, you know, not at first. You know, deacon sharpe wasn’t born yesterday. I could see what she was up to.

Hollis: Yeah, but you still went along with it.

Deacon: I– I just, you know, I talked to brooke, I laid it out. Suffice it to say that we won’t be riding off into the sunset anytime soon.

Hollis: Sorry, boss.

Deacon: Thanks. I appreciate that.

Hollis: Me too.

Deacon: You know, but look, we will always be hope’s parents and brooke will always be in my life.

Hollis: Yeah. But you gotta wonder though, what got into taylor? I mean, first, she pushed me off onto brooke and now she’s pushing you onto brooke. But what’s that about?

Deacon: Oh, I’d say that’s easy. She wants ridge all to herself.

Eric: Son, you know how I feel about taylor. She’s given you beautiful children and a family of which you’re both very, very proud. But–

Ridge: Here it comes.

Eric: Taylor is not the love of your life, ridge. The love of your life is brooke logan and she always will be.

Brooke: Oh, god, taylor. Look, just– just be honest with me, okay? Just tell me, you want ridge. Just stop pretending for god’s sakes that you don’t, okay?

Taylor: Okay. Um, yeah, I– I want ridge. I do. You’re right. We deserve each other.

Brooke: And he and I don’t?

Taylor: You know, brooke, I– I– I don’t think you’re right for ridge, you know? I don’t think he’s right for you either. The two of you have caused each other so much pain over the years, you know. I don’t think you’re good for him. And, you know, I don’t think you ever have been.

Brooke: I honestly can’t believe this right now. I– I can’t believe this. I mean, I can’t believe those words are coming out of your mouth. We’re like– we’re right back where we started, taylor.

Taylor: You know what? Things are different now. They really arE. You, um, you have a chance at a life with someone other than ridge, remember?

Brooke: Who? Who? Hollis? The first guy that you tried to set me up with? Obviously, you had ulterior motives then too.

Taylor: Oh, god, hollis was just fun, brooke. You know that. Not to mention young, very attractive, and sexy. Those are your words. Now, when it comes to deacon, you guys, you have a history. You have hope.

Brooke: I don’t need a dating service.

Taylor: Yeah, maybe not. I was just– I was just trying to be a friend.

Brooke: Well, why don’t you just stop trying to sugarcoat things? You broke our pact, you destroyed our friendship… all because you want to be with ridge. (Buzz) are you guys telling secrets?

Ridge: All right. It’s time for me to get going. Got a press event I got put together, a preview. I’m going to rome. I don’t know if I told you–

Eric: Oh, yes. Yeah. Well. Keep me in the loop, will you? I’ve done rome a few times.

Ridge: Oh? I’m gonna stay in here and work. It’s quieter in here. You know, there’s too many people in my office all the time. And you, you and steffy behind my desk are one thing but katie and carter and– and hope and zende. If I ever catch charlie behind my desk, I’m gonna shoot him with his own water pistol. Anyway, I’m gonna be in here, all right? You need any help, here’s where I’ll be.

Ridge: I always need your help. That’s something you gotta remember. You are forrester creations. Everyone loves you, respects you. No one more than me.

Eric: Thanks for that. And thanks for being the son I can always be proud of. I don’t tell you that enough.

Ridge: You do, every day, in 100 different ways.

Eric: Come here.

Ridge: I love you.

Eric: I love you too, buddy. One of the only things I still want in this life is your happiness. And I think the one person who can bring that to you and to really fulfill your life, that’s brooke.

Deacon: I don’t know, hollis. Taylor says she’s acting in good faith. I mean…

Hollis: What? By pushing me and then you to brooke so that taylor could have a clear shot at ridge?

Deacon: I’m not even sure she was looking at it like that. I mean, do you really think taylor’s capable of being that calculating?

Hollis: I don’t know. I don’t know the lady that well.

Deacon: You know, come to think of it, neither do I. I mean, not really. The one thing that’s clear is that she’s hung up on her ex.

Hollis: Just like brooke.

Deacon: Yeah, they’ve got that in common. I mean, they’re more alike than they realize or want to admit. Unfortunately, now that brooke knows what taylor did, their friendship’s about to blow up.

Brooke: You think that I’m all wrong for ridge, but what about you? What about your behavior? What about thomas’s behavior?

Taylor: My behavior. Thomas’s behavioR. You mean when I was in a wedding gown? When ridge and I were almost married?

Brooke: Under false pretences. You could have gone to ridge and told him the truth, but you didn’t because you knew what it would cost you.

Taylor: You know, it was much more complicated than that.

Brooke: It was complicated for you because you knew what you stood to lose.

Taylor: Oh, my god.

Brooke: You said ridge was all yours and only yours. I mean, my god, taylor, how sanctimonious is that? But you know what? That is team taylor, and I know what you think about me. I know what you think about my daughter. We are just the logan girls, just sluts from the valley.

Taylor: Those were stephanie’s words about you.

Brooke: Yeah, well, you feel the same way.

Taylor: You have had chance after chance with ridge over the years and each time you have let him down. He deserves to be with someone who’s not gonna upend his world every chance she gets. I mean, come on, the list of men goes on and on.

Brooke: Enough, taylor.

Taylor: No, only it was never enough, was it? Not for you. Really wasn’T. You know, come to think of it, you– you had a child with deacon while he was married to your daughter. Your daughter, brooke! That’s disgusting. Who– who does that? You don’t have any love inside of you. How could you possibly give it to ridge?

Brooke: We had an agreement. Do you know that?

Taylor: Uh, yeah, I do. Do you?

Brooke: We had a solemn vow.

Taylor: Yes, we did.

Brooke: And I trusted you, taylor, I trusted you and you just stabbed me in the back. You broke our friendship all because you wanted to get to ridge.

Taylor: Oh, my god.

Brooke: How dare you? How dare you? You know what? I am gonna go to ridge and I’m gonna tell him exactly what you’ve done and tell him the kind of person that you really are. Everything about saint taylor.

Taylor: Uh, stop it, grow up, brooke. Grow up, stop it. Stay here and talk to me.

Brooke: Don’t lay your hands on me.

Taylor: Don’t lay your hands on me either.

Ridge: Hey, hey, easy, easy. What’s going on here? All right. All right.

Taylor: She’s being dramatic.

Brooke: She– she stabbed in the back, ridge.

Ridge: What?

Taylor: I did not stab you in the back.

Brooke: Yes, you did. You played me for a fool.

Taylor: Okay.

Brooke: You didn’t want to be friends with me, taylor. Not at all. You just used me. You used me to get to him. That’s what she wanted ridge. So, you know what? Our little pact is over.
