-Thomas called Julie “Aunt Julie.” He needs to look at the family tree. Julie is not his aunt. She is his cousin.
-Did Cat forget about her brother Mark? She talked to Rafe about Aaron and Felicity, but she forgot about Mark.
-Victoria cried like she was a baby and not a toddler.

We don’t understand why Gwen was brought back to the show. The actress has been back for a little while so it’s time to talk about her return. We weren’t fans of her character by any means and that didn’t change. She didn’t need to be back on the show. All she does is brag about being rich. We get it. Dimitri’s inheritance made her rich. We don’t need to keep hearing about it. She also keeps talking about how she was abandoned by her family. Gwen already dealt with that trauma when she was on the show before. It’s time for her to move on from that part of her life because she wasn’t worried about it when she was bragging about the money she inherited from Dimitri. The writers were certain we couldn’t have Bo and Hope back permanently, but they were sure we needed Gwen back on the show. It’s safe to say they got it backwards.
Speaking of useless characters, what was the point of Doug? He was on the show for months, and we don’t know any more about him than we did when he joined the show. The writers didn’t bother to flesh out his character. All he did was steal Julie’s necklace, flirt with Holly and sleep with Arianna. At first, we thought his character would have been enough to finally give Julie a storyline. Unfortunately, that story went nowhere. Julie was upset with him and kicked him out of the Horton house. When that storyline didn’t work the writers tried to have him be the interloper in Tate and Holly’s relationship. The writers tried to make him come off like Mr. Romantic when he was the bad guy in the storyline. It didn’t work because we knew that he was a thief. Holly didn’t return his feelings for her so that was the end of that storyline. The writers tried another story by making him fall for Arianna. That storyline didn’t work either because he was finally written out of the cast. They had to find some way to write him out of the show, so Tate told him to leave town. Doug agreed to leave town, so that’s then end of his character. We can’t say that we will miss him because we won’t. It helped that we never got to know the real version of Doug. In our minds, he was a thief who betrayed a woman who just lost her husband. The writers couldn’t do anything to fix his character at that point. They would have been better off making him a villain instead of trying to convince us that he was a thief with the heart of gold.
There is one more useless character that we must talk about. Cat has been on the show for a while, and she hasn’t done anything worth watching. The writers have tried to do things to make this character more likable and interesting, but the attempts have failed. She is hard to watch because she is very annoying. Cat does nothing but flirt with Chad. We couldn’t care less about seeing them bond after the way she schemed against him. The writers wasted their time expecting everyone to forgive and forget her actions. They tried to give her character more life by tying her to the ISA. Suddenly Cat is some great expert in investigating things. No offense, but she doesn’t seem especially brilliant so it’s hard to believe that she’s such a genius that she could work with the ISA undercover. Is this storyline a way to create needless tension between Chad and Cat? Are they starting a triangle with Rafe? She’s definitely beyond boring with Chad. Hopefully she will have some chemistry with Rafe because she doesn’t with Chad.
Was anyone else ready to hit the fast forward button on Stephanie and Alex? Their scenes could cure insomnia. We know the actors are trying their best to put on good performances, but their scenes were extremely boring. Are the writers struggling for ideas? The best story they could come up with was Stephanie getting her book published. We couldn’t care less about her book or whether it gets published. It’s time for the writers to cut their losses with Stephanie and Alex because they don’t have chemistry. Watching Stephanie go on about whether people would know she wrote her book was like watching paint dry.
It was strange to see Melinda helping Sophia. She’s not exactly a nurturing character, but she showed that side when she was talking to Sophia. It was nice to see her be patient with Sophia even though cried about a decision she chose to make. Melinda reminded the audience about her decision to give up her baby. We applaud the writers for including that beat into the storyline. Sophia didn’t want to have the baby, and Melinda talked to her about what she went through when she gave her baby away. The situations aren’t the same, but she found a way to relate to Sophia. It was nice to see them working together when they didn’t interact with each other before. Sophia needed someone to help her, and Melinda was the person who came through for her.
Johnny’s trial started. It’s been a while since we’ve seen a courtroom case on the show. The writers took the time to show EJ and Belle question people for jury duty. Amy and Leo were summoned for their case. The writers didn’t write jury service the way it’s supposed to be, but it was enjoyable to watch. Anyone who suffered through jury duty knows that you wouldn’t get summoned that fast. You must wait for a month to go and must sit in a jury control room in person on a Zoom call. Leo tried everything he could to get out of the case, but it didn’t work. EJ and Belle wanted to keep him on the case. We hope that we get to see the case unfold onscreen. There have been other times when the cases took place offscreen. It would be nice to see one play out on the show.

I don’t watch too many non-fiction shows, but I enjoy “Shark Week” every year. They do a good job of keeping a balance between entertainment and education. The programs this year are really fun. I interviewed some of the “Shark Week” stars about their programs. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Don’t miss “Shark Week” starting Sunday, 7/20/25.
Summer’s most-anticipated television programming event, Discovery Channel’s “Shark Week,” returns for its historic 37th year on Sunday, July 20 at 8PM ET/PT. The network previously announced the upcoming Shark Week special Dancing with Sharks and today released the first official promo clip for the 2025 celebration.
Kendyl Berna studied Environmental Science with an emphasis in Ecology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. While in college, she took a semester off to work at Discovery Channel and realized that she loved the media side of environmental science and the outreach that it could have. From here, she began her career in documentary filmmaking, particularly specializing in nature, marine, adventure and wildlife and producing shows for networks such as Netflix, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Travel Channel, A&E and others.
While producing a marine-based show for Travel Channel in the British Virgin Islands she met Chris Juredin and his team at Commercial Dive Services. Two years and two Category-5 hurricanes later, they teamed up to create Beyond The Reef. Kendyl handles the creative side while Chris handles the logistics and engineering of actually building and sinking a ship.

It was aggressive, 13-feet long and had very dark skin. Now, a group of experts lure the beast up from the abyss to determine if the creature is a mako, or mutant, or possibly, a mako and great white hybrid.
Paul de Gelder, a former Australian Navy diver, is a shark conservation advocate and motivational speaker recognized for surviving a 2009 bull shark attack in Sydney Harbour, which led to the amputation of his right leg and part of his right arm. He educates the public about sharks and advocates for their conservation, primarily regarding overfishing and shark finning. Since 2013, de Gelder has frequently appeared in Discovery Channel’s “Shark Week” specials , engages in motivational speaking, and authored the book “Shark: Why We Need to Save the World’s Most Misunderstood Predator”. Kinga Philips In 2021 Kinga became the first female host in 33 years of her own show on Discovery’s SHARK WEEK with Tiger Queen. Filmed in Turks and Caicos Kinga investigated a mysterious population of never before studied tiger sharks coming face to face with these magnificent apex predators. In 2022 Kinga created, hosted and executive produced Sharks in Paradise, one of Shark Week’s first shows to ever be filmed in Tahiti. Both shows rated among Shark Weeks top shows. Kinga is currently in production on three upcoming 2025 Shark Week shows.
In her free time, Kinga explores a singular fascination with the ocean, free diving (see below), scuba diving (she is advanced open water, nitrox and dry suit certified), surfing, spearfishing to harvest her own food, exotic travel and sharks (those are her two friends from Guadalupe Island, MX swimming up top)… followed just slightly by a love of solo adventure travel, charity work, exotic foods and action sports.

I was very excited to speak to these actors because I love this show. To be honest, I’ve been a “Star Trek” fan since I was a little girl in the 60’s, and I love the entire franchise, but this is the only current Trek show, as well as arguably the most popular one in a long time. Unfortunately, star Anson Mount (Pike) had a personal emergency, so we didn’t get to speak to him. I think Christina Chong (La’an) was also called away (both were originally listed for the press day). Still, it was great to speak to the wonderful actors on this show who play Number One, Christine Chapel, Scotty, Uhura, Dr. M’Benga, and Erica Ortegas. This was a roundtable, and there were quite a few journalists there. You’ll hear many voices on the interview, asking the stars questions. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Is Produced by CBS Studio
Paramount+ today announced season three of its hit original series STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS will premiere with two episodes on Thursday, July 17, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. The series will also stream on Paramount+ in international markets where the service is available. Following the premiere, new episodes will drop weekly on Thursdays, with the season finale on Thursday, September 11. Melissa NaviaErica Ortegas is a Colombian-American actor and writer. Navia stars in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds as Lt. Erica Ortegas, helmsman of the USS Enterprise. She also plays the banjo and is trained in martial arts and sword fighting.
Martin QuinnScotty (born 1994; age ~31) is a Scottish actor joins the cast of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” as Montgomery Scott (the first Scottish actor to play Scotty). At 18, he won the lead role of Oskar in the National Theatre of Scotland’s production of Let The Right One In, adapted for the stage by Jack Thorne and directed by John Tiffany. The play opened at Dundee Rep in the summer of 2013 before transferring to the Royal Court Theatre in London the following December and then onto the Apollo Theatre in the West End in 2014, with Quinn reprising the lead role on both occasions. He then attended Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Since graduating he has performed in London’s National Theatre and Old Vic as well as various Scottish theaters including a national tour of “Oor Wullie”- The Musical, where he played the titular role.

-Unless we missed something, how did Paulina know that Gabi was the one who heard Johnny threatening EJ? She talked to Belle about it as if she knew for a fact that Gabi was the witness.
-Did Arianna forget about her uncle? She talked about Johnny being a good guy like he wasn’t her uncle. Arianna acted as if he was just a guy she knew and not her uncle.
-Chanel was crying without any tears.
-Paulina didn’t want to look biased in Johnny’s case, but she ordered the arresting officer to let Chanel talk to Johnny before he was taken to his cell.
Tuesday
-Arianna acted as if she didn’t know the menu for the pub. The pub is her family’s place so you would think that she would know the menu.
-Who told Kristen that Johnny was arrested? The only person who would have told her (EJ) was with Johnny at the police station.
-Rachel was having nightmares so why would Brady and Kristen let her watch a horror movie.
Wednesday
-Nicole didn’t stay in Salem very long. She was there for Holly’s graduation, but she didn’t stay in town that long.
-Sophia gave birth to her baby, but she looked like she was ready to go out. Her hair was perfectly styled, and she still had her makeup applied. Most likely women who give birth don’t look like they’re ready to go out.
-It was practically pitch black when Doug was with the henchman, but it was lighter outside when Doug was at the town square.
-Sophia managed to give birth and clean up the mess before her parents got home.
-Sophia took her baby out in a brownish wrap, but Javi found him in a blue blanket.
Thursday
-Javi and Leo were talking about the baby as if he were staying at Rafe’s place for one night.
Friday
-Kristen was talking to Marlena and Brady while Marlena was shown.
-Kristen’s cup was up when she attempted to drink out of it.

As Days fans know, one of the main stories for the week was Johnny’s arrest. Jada had a cop show up at the town square to arrest Johnny. He was arrested in front of Sweet Bits. The idea of getting arrested in public is very embarrassing. Paulina was worried about looking biased in his case so she wanted to make sure everything was done by the book. The story might be what helps us see what the new writers could do after Ron Carlivati was let go from the show. It has the potential of being a great story. We’re trying to be optimistic about it. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a court case on the show. It’s a story that has the potential of being an umbrella storyline. We like that a lot of characters are involved in the storyline. It gives other people a chance to be involved in the story. The storyline involves EJ, Johnny, Belle, Chanel, Jada, Rafe, Gabi, Rachel, Paulina, Marlena, and Roman for now. EJ ripped into Belle because he thought she played a role in Johnny’s arrest. He demanded that she stay on the case. Belle tried to explain what happened, but he didn’t want to hear it. Chanel went off when she found out that Paulina was responsible for Johnny’s arrest. Rafe and Jada had an argument because she betrayed his trust by arresting Johnny. We are always here for drama so we enjoyed watching the arguing that happened after Johnny’s arrest. Marlena and Roman need a storyline again so their involvement was a breath of fresh air. She needed a storyline outside of John’s death and this storyline could be what the doctor ordered. We can’t wait to see what happens during the courtroom scenes. Hopefully something juicy will come out during Johnny’s trial.
Speaking of Johnny’s case, did anyone else think that Gabi was being more self-centered than usual? She didn’t want Johnny to have a trial because she didn’t want to feel EJ’s wrath. What type of woman is she? She should have been concerned with Johnny going to jail because he’s Arianna’s uncle, but she didn’t want to deal with EJ. Gabi always acts like she’s that b*tch so she didn’t have a reason to be afraid of what EJ would do to her if she testified against Johnny. It would be a shock to see her care about someone other than herself.
While we’re on the subject of Johnny’s arrest, he brought it on himself. He wanted anyone with ears to know that he didn’t care what happened to his father. People kept trying to get him to make up with his father, but he didn’t want to hear what they had to say. He had himself to blame for why he was at the police station. Johnny shouldn’t have brought a gun to the DiMera mansion, and he wouldn’t be blamed for shooting EJ. Johnny only had himself to blame for why he was accused of shooting EJ. He decided to act innocent once he was accused of the shooting. Johnny wished EJ would die so why should anyone feel sorry for him now that he’s the prime suspect in the case? We want to see what’s going to happen to him now that he’s in jail. He will wish he had forgiven EJ sooner and didn’t threaten him with the gun.
Why are the writers treating Julie like the villain when Doug was the one who stole from her family? Everyone seems to forget that Doug is a thief who had no problem grinning in Julie’s face after what he did. Steve was the latest one to jump on the “Doug is a saint band wagon.” We watched Steve and Julie’s scenes in disbelief. Julie shouldn’t have had to defend her anger towards Doug. He betrayed her while she was grieving the loss of her Doug. She has every right to be upset with Doug after the stunt he pulled. We really wish the writers would stop trying so hard to make Doug a good guy. He isn’t a good character just because everyone suddenly wants to defend him.
We were appalled when we saw Sophia deliver her own baby. She abandoned her baby because she wanted a life of her own. We understand that it’s her choice what she wants to do with her baby, but she abandoned her child because she needed a life of her own. It’s crazy that she thought that was the right decision to make. The writers wanted Sophia to look like the selfish one which was why Tate was thinking about their child’s future, but she didn’t. She wanted to put herself first. Tate didn’t want to be a father either so why does he get to be the one thinking about the baby. She had to be the one who didn’t want to think about the baby. Right the writers wanted Tate to have his happily ever after with Holly while making Sophia the villain. We do applaud Sophia for leaving her baby at the firehouse instead of in a box. Sophia didn’t score any brownie points when she allowed Melinda to talk her into deceiving everyone by wearing padding to pretend to be pregnant. Did the writers want to write a story that could happen in real life? We read about mothers who abandoned their kids, but we haven’t seen anything like that on daytime. They should get a round of applause for writing a story that’s different from the others. It might hit home for people who dealt with mothers abandoning their children, but it’s different from other stories.

Rachel Israel is a New York based writer and director. Nina Bloomgarden is An American actress, born in New York, USA. She is the granddaughter of theatrical producer Kermit Bloomgarden. She studied acting at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff, Wales. She is known for Body of the Mined (2021) and Jane (2022).
Why didn’t Theresa come back for John’s funeral? Shane and Andrew came back for it so why wouldn’t she come back? John was Tate’s grandfather so she should have been there. She came back for Victor’s funeral, but she didn’t come back for John’s. We know she was scheming to marry Alex, but she still came back for Victor’s funeral. The writers didn’t even come up with a reason for why she wasn’t there. Speaking of missing people, why wasn’t Nicole at the funeral? You would think she would have been there for Eric. Will was also missing from the funeral. He took the time to show up when John was in the hospital, so he should have been at the funeral.
Roman must have a good heart to be willing to mourn John after everything that happened with Marlena. You would think that he would have been bitter towards John after the way he had an affair with Marlena. He also had to listen to his family talk about how great of a person John was when everyone thought John was Roman. John’s family talking about him mad sense, but Roman’s family breaking down should have made him cringe. It’s a testament to how good of a person Roman must be.
John’s funeral broke our hearts. It was so sad watching everyone talking about the kind of man John was. Knowing that Drake Hogestyn passed away in real life made the funeral scenes harder to watch. The actors did a tremendous job with the material. Their speeches made us laugh and cry. We do have some complaints about the funeral. There should have been more flashbacks while everyone was talking at the funeral. It would have really broken our hearts if they showed flashbacks. Also, there were people missing at the funeral who should have been there. The writers should have found a way to have Kimberly, Frankie, Max, Sami, Allie, Claire, Will, Theresa, etc. at the funeral. There’s no reason why they shouldn’t have been at the funeral.
Is there tension between Deidre Hall and Kristian Alfonso? We noticed when Hope hugged Marlena at John’s funeral, Marlena acted as if she didn’t want Hope to touch her. Marlena didn’t do that when Bo hugged her. Is it possible that the actresses don’t get along in real life? We did read rumors that they didn’t get along. After what we saw Marlena do to Hope the rumors might be true.
When did Jack and Jennifer get a tombstone for Abby? Abby’s body was missing which was why Cat was able to pretend to be her. When did they find Abby’s body to put her in the cemetery? Speaking of Abby, why would Marlena have John’s funeral on the anniversary of Abby’s death? You would think Marlena would have picked another day to have John’s service.
We enjoyed John’s repass at the pub. It was nice hearing all the stories about John since we didn’t see them when they first aired. The writers did a great job adding flashbacks for the stories. It was a reminder that they should have shown more flashbacks at the funeral. It also gave Marlena a chance to apologize to Roman about the memories of John making him uncomfortable. She’s grieving her husband, yet she took the time to make sure Roman wasn’t uncomfortable talking about John.

Interview with Laurence Leboeuf of “Transplant” on NBC by Suzanne 6/9/25
It’s so nice to interview Laurence again. I just love this show, and she’s the lead female star. I’ve enjoyed getting to know her a little in these short chats, over the years. Laurence Leboeuf is an award-winning actress from Montreal who stars as Dr. Magalie “Mags” Leblanc in NBC’s “Transplant.”
The bilingual actress (French and English) has been acting professionally since she was 10 and rose to stardom with multiple award nominations and wins. She won the 2024 ACTRA Montreal Award of Excellence and has continuously booked leading roles in both television and film of French-Canadian and English-Canadian productions.
On the film side, Leboeuf recently starred in Chloé Robichaud’s latest feature, “Two Women.” The film premiered at Sundance as part of the festival’s exclusive World Cinema Dramatic Competition and won the Special Jury Award for Writing.
Leboeuf won Best Drama Actress for her work in “Transplant” at the Canadian Screen Awards for 2022. Additional award wins include the Gemeaux Awards (French Canadian Emmys) for Best Actress in the series “Les Lavigueur,” Best Supporting Actress for her role in the series “Musee Eden” and Best Actress for her role in the series “Marche A. It was fun to talk to Aaron about this show. He seems to really enjoy working on it. I’m sure it must be great to be involved with creating something like this and seeing your project come to life. He’s a very down-to-earth guy that grew up watching and reading about fantasy, scifi and horror, so he’s just a geek like me and most of my friends and family (which I hope he doesn’t mind my saying). This series grabs you right away, getting you invested in the characters and their town. You don’t want to miss it if you love horror. I will say that, although it has some gross scenes, it’s not as bad as any of the “Walking Dead” shows.

Aaron B. Koontz is the co-creator, co-showrunner and an executive producer on the new SYFY drama series “Revival.”
An Indie Spirit Award nominee, he’s the CEO and founder of the genre production company Paper Street Pictures.
Koontz has produced more than 20 feature films, including “Blood Relatives,” “Old Man,” “A Creature Was Stirring,” the SXSW-winning “The Artifice Girl” and the upcoming “Shelby Oaks,” which is scheduled for release in 2025.

Alan Tudyk stars in the SYFY drama “Resident Alien” as Harry Vanderspeigle, an alien who crash lands onto Earth and must pass himself off as a small-town human doctor.

Tudyk also voiced Tuk-Tuk in the Oscar-nominated film “Raya and the Last Dragon” as well as Pico the Toucan in Disney’s hit film “Encanto.”
In 2016, Tudyk appeared in Lucasfilm’s “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” as the scene-stealing security droid, ‘K-2SO.’ Directed by Gareth Edwards, the film grossed over $1 billion at the global box office and was the first live action Star Wars spin-off. Tudyk is also the creator, executive producer and star of the Emmy nominated series “Con Man,” which was funded via Indiegogo with a record-breaking $3.2 million donation from over 46,000 fans. “Con Man” debuted at Lionsgate’s Comic Con HQ in 2015 and later aired on SYFY. Loosely based on Tudyk and Nathan Fillion’s experiences starring in “Firefly,” “Con Man” centered on the post-show life of ‘Wray Nerely’ (Tudyk) after “Spectrum,” a sci-fi TV series canceled before its time that later became a cult classic. In 2016, Tudyk, along with Fillion, also launched “Con Man: The Game” based on the series which allowed players to build and host their own comic book conventions.
Tudyk has shown audiences wide versatility in numerous television shows and a plethora of feature films. Recently, he co-starred in the Jay Roach 2015 SAG Award nominated feature “Trumbo,” opposite Bryan Cranston, Diane Lane, Helen Mirren and John Goodman as well as 2014’s “Welcome to Me” with Kristin Wiig. Alice Wetterlund stars in SYFY’s “Resident Alien” as “D’Arcy Bloom,” the charismatic bartender at the local pub who, as a former Olympic snowboarder, is also a part of the avalanche control team.
Wetterlund has performed her non-yelling brand of comedy nationally at colleges, clubs, and festivals such as Just for Laughs, Bridgetown, Moon Tower, Women in Comedy, SF Sketchfest, RIOT LA, Bonnaroo and more.

She plays Kate Hawthorne in the hit series RESIDENT ALIEN on Syfy and Peacock. She is a founding member of SOCIETY Theatre Company in New York City.

Sheriff Mike Thompson, “Resident Alien”
Corey Reynolds stars in the SYFY drama “Resident Alien” as Mike Thompson, the local sheriff who runs the town with a chip on his shoulder, a cowboy hat on his head and an iron fist.
Reynolds is best known for his role on “The Closer,” which he starred on for six seasons. He will next be seen as a guest star in Apple’s “The Afterparty.” He’s recurred on “All American,” “Red Line,” “Criminal Minds,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “Masters of Sex” and “Murder in the First.” He has guest starred on “Seal Team” and “Chicago P.D.”

Elizabeth Bowen plays Deputy Liv Baker on the hit SYFY series “Resident Alien.”
Bowen was raised on Vancouver Island in Nanaimo, British Columbia. She attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts – West before moving back to Canada to work on improv comedy while pursuing film and television roles.
Bowen credits her role in season two of FX’s “Fargo” as a career turning point. Bowen’s other credits include recurring roles on Amazon’s “Upload” and Hulu’s “Woke,” as well as the Freeform holiday movie “Angry Angel.”
It was something that Maggie was willing to stand up to Xander now that the truth about Sarah is out. Maggie never wanted to see the worst in Xander no matter what he did, yet now she wants to make him pay for what he does to Sarah. Guess in Maggie’s eyes, Xander could do anything to other people, but he’s persona non grata if he does anything to her daughter. It was too little too late for her to be done with him now. We couldn’t believe Maggie when she blamed Xander for everything as if Sarah was innocent. Hopefully he will go after Maggie when he gets his revenge on Sarah. We are sick of Maggie’s holier than thou attitude as if she didn’t lie to him.
Marlena’s performance this week broke our hearts. She showed the right emotion when it came to John. Marlena handled it with grace even though she was worried about John. Deidre Hall deserves an Emmy for her amazing performance. She made us want to grab tissue when she wanted John to stay with her and not leave her. Knowing that Drake Hogestyn is no longer here made Marlena asking for John not to leave her even more painful.
We applaud the writers for showing the flashbacks of John. It was nice going down memory lane with some of the flashbacks. The writers did a fabulous job paying tribute to the late actor. If they are doing this for him before the character died, we look forward to what they will do when John dies. The flashbacks will make it more emotional.
While we’re applauding the writers, we want to applaud the other actors in John’s story. They did a great job with the material. It was heartbreaking seeing them break down over what was going on with John. The actors showed real emotion over John which made an impact and made the scenes powerful. We were invested as each of them talked about the kind of man John was.
Thumbs up to the writers for having Abe ask Kate about Philip. It wasn’t that long ago when Abe and Kate worked together on Body & Soul so it was good to see him show concern for Philip. It showed that Abe and Kate still care about each other and haven’t forgotten that they are friends. The writers deserve another thumbs up for bringing Paul, Carrie, Will, and Eric back to see John. It was a reminder of how much he meant to them.

I love this Canadian show, so I’m very glad to see it back on my TV screen! The writing and acting are just so good… The stories grab you and surprise you. The actors are very committed. I’m sad it’s ending, but please do enjoy these videos and the season 4 premiere this Thursday, May 22 on NBC and then on Peacock. There are two new episodes! More Details below. I apologize because when I interviewed Hamza Haq, I didn’t record it (I thought I did), so I used the backup provided by NBC. They only had speaker view for our Zoom call, not gallery view, like I usually use. That was my fault, not theirs.

Bashir “Bash” Hamed, “Transplant”
Hamza Haq stars as Bashir “Bash” Hamed in the NBC drama “Transplant.” On the path to becoming a Canadian citizen, Bash is reckoning with his identity and sense of belonging.
Named one of Canada’s rising stars by the Hollywood Reporter in 2017, Haq has won acclaim for his work in “Transplant,” including Lead Actor in a Drama for 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Prior to “Transplant,” Haq played twins Amal and Gopal, opposite William Shatner and Russell Peters, in the CTV miniseries “Indian Detective.” He was recognized with a Canadian Screen Award nomination for his role of Raza Ali in the CBS series “This Life.” Early in his career, he hosted two seasons of the International Emmy Award-nominated children’s series “Look Kool.”

Raised in Ottawa, Haq is the youngest of four siblings born in Saudi Arabia to Pakistani parents. He has called Canada home since the age of 9. He holds a BA degree in film studies with a minor in law from Carleton University.
It’s something how everyone was acting guilty when EJ got shot, but now that he’s on the mend, everyone is acting innocent. Someone had to shoot EJ, yet everyone keeps denying doing it. Before we know it, EJ will end up being the one who shot himself. We know the writers will end up making the shooter a random person since everyone is suddenly denying shooting him.
We loved how Cat was reminded that she pretended to be Abby. She has been walking around town as if she never pretended to be Abby. The writers must think she’s a changed person just because she is obsessed with Felicity. Cat hasn’t been redeemed just because she is a good sister to Felicity and is in love with Chad. Chad may have gotten over what she did, but it doesn’t change the fact that she hurt people.
Xander, Philip and EJ have become obsessed with the hospital. Titan didn’t have the money to save the hospital when it was first in trouble yet now that the miracle drug is a factor, the company has the money to get the hospital. EJ has obsessed over the hospital as well. We know fighting over the hospital gives them a story, but they have been going overboard mentioning the hospital.
Why was Tate able to help Sophia plan her birthday party, but he wasn’t there for Rachel’s party? We get that Rachel is a little kid, but she’s still his sister. He could have made an appearance at the party. If he’s going to take the time to plan something for Sophia, he could have at least done something for his sister. She doesn’t have any friends so you would think her brother would have showed up at the party. We’re surprised he took the time to get her a gift.
Why does Marlena have a problem with EJ and Belle being together when she was the one who wanted Belle to be honest about her feelings for EJ? If she didn’t want them together, she should have never encouraged Belle to be honest about how she felt about him. Marlena must think she can have it both ways.

Interview with Chris Maher of “Desert Dawn” and other movies by Suzanne 4/23/25
I had a fun chat with Chris, even though we had some technical difficulties. He’s got quite a few films coming out in the next few years and appears in TV series and commercials as well. “Desert Dawn” premieres this week, May 16th, in limited release. Chris has a small role in it. In the Fall, he begins work on “Nova,” which sounds very interesting. It’s a scifi thriller that he stars in, produces, etc. It was a successful short film, but now they’re turning it into a feature film. I can’t wait for that one. I hope you enjoy the interview!

Talking to these two was a lot of fun. Freddy is an amazing young guy directing the film he co-created and co-wrote with his dad. They made a short film first. It’s quite exciting to meet such a young talent who created this fantastic film, and I look forward to what else he’ll bring in the future. Don’t miss this movie, which premieres May 9th in theaters. This week’s Days of Our Lives left us scratching our heads about the characters in Salem. We realized that Maggie is a hypocrite, Sarah is selfish, and Johnny is a monster. In no particular order, we’ll get started with our opinions.
We loved how the writers are opening the door for Bo’s return. Bo is one of our favorite characters, so we are excited to have him back on the show. We applaud the writers for setting up his return and involving other characters in the story. Umbrella stories give the other characters opportunities to be shown so we are curious as to where the writers are headed with this story. Hopefully they won’t drop the ball on the story.
Johnny proved that he is a monster. In fact, he is just as big of a monster as he thinks his father is. Instead of talking to Chanel about not wanting to adopt Sophia and Tate’s baby, he chose to decide for her. He told them they weren’t going through with the adoption. Johnny didn’t care that he broke Chanel’s heart. His only concern was not turning out like EJ. Chanel was willing to be patient with him, but he wasn’t having it. He thought that she was supposed to understand his apprehension because he didn’t want to turn out like his father. In his attempt to not be like his father, he ended up being like him. Johnny could have swallowed his pride and went along with the adoption since it was his idea to adopt a baby. He was the one who talked Chanel into adopting a baby in the first place. If he loved Chanel, he would have been willing to make the sacrifice. His sacrifice would show that he wasn’t like EJ. We felt bad for Chanel when she broke down and cried after he told her he didn’t want to adopt the baby. She had her heart set on adopting the baby only to be told that Johnny wasn’t ready to be a father.
Maggie proved that she is a hypocrite. She ripped into Philip for lying about the inheritance so he could take control over Titan. Ordinarily that wouldn’t be a bad thing except she proved she was a hypocrite. When she talked to Julie, she expected Julie to get past Doug stealing from her because “good people make mistakes.” Maggie thinks Doug is a good person who made a mistake, but she wasn’t willing to give Philip that same kind of leeway. Philip was just wrong for what he did. We guess Maggie forgot Doug stole something from Julie and had no problem staying in her house and taking advantage of her hospitality. Why is Doug and good person and Philip isn’t? They are both wrong for what they did but she’s only willing to see Doug as a good person.
Sarah showed how selfish she is. She made the predictable decision of keeping her secret from Xander. Her reasoning was because no good would come from him finding out the truth. Sarah is the same person who was willing to break up with Xander because he lied to her. Now that she’s on the scheming end, she wants to lie to him. Sarah is no different from her mother when it comes to being a hypocrite. If Xander were the one lying to her about something, she wouldn’t care what his reasoning was for doing it. She would find the first divorce attorney in Salem to get away from him. It will serve her right when he finds out what she did and leaves her.
Speaking of Xander, he is being high and mighty about Philip’s betrayal. Philip was wrong for what he did, but Xander isn’t innocent by a long shot. He has done his fair share of bad things throughout the years so he really shouldn’t judge Philip for what he did. Xander of all people should know what desperate people do when they want something. He doesn’t have to forgive Philip right away, but he shouldn’t be so stubborn when it comes to Philip. It wasn’t that long ago when he wanted forgiveness so he shouldn’t be so hard on Philip.

There was some movement that happened on DOOL this week. Rafe had to deal with the fall out of his night with Sami and Xander got the shock of his life. Let’s get into what happened this week on DOOL.
Rafe and Sami ended up sleeping together. As Rafe and Sami fans, we would have loved to have seen them hook up with each other. Since Sami isn’t staying on the show, there’s no sense getting hopeful about them being together. With that said, Rafe sleeping with Sami came back to haunt him when he found out Jada didn’t sleep with Shawn again. He told Jada the truth, but she didn’t take it well. Rafe did the right thing telling her the truth, but he would have been better off keeping it to himself.
Speaking of Sami, we were surprised that she and Kate got along with each other. Longtime fans know Sami and Kate used to hate each other. It was nice to see them talking to each other civilly. Kate and Sami are cut from the same cloth, so it was good to see them on the same page for once. It’s too bad we won’t get to see them interacting with each other on a friendly basis, so we enjoyed what we got to see.
Vivian felt betrayed by Philip and Kate and ended up telling Xander the truth. We’re surprised Vivian told Xander the truth. We thought she would have dragged it out. The look on Xander’s face was priceless when he found out what Philip did. We thought it was going to take months for the truth to come out, yet it came out so easily. Leave it to Vivian to drop a bombshell on Xander and then leave town. It was a short visit, but Vivian did her thing.
Why was JJ so obsessed with Gabi being EJ’s shooter? You would think he wouldn’t want to accuse his girlfriend of being the shooter. Was he looking for ways to get out of being with Gabi? Accusing her of being the shooter was the great way to torpedo his relationship with her. JJ was already told that he shouldn’t have accused Gabi without proof, yet he did it anyway. It makes sense for him to think it was Gabi, but he should have treaded lightly before he flat out accused her.
Sarah proved that she’s a hypocrite. She opened up to Maggie about her secret. Sarah told Maggie that Philip schemed to get Titan. Predictably, Maggie sided with Sarah. It’s rich of Sarah to keep the secret from Xander. If Xander kept a secret from her, she would have been ready to dump him like a garbage bag. She even went the extra mile by questioning why she was keeping the secret from Xander. Sarah is the pillar of honesty when Xander messes up, but she was willing to keep him in the dark about what Philip did. Maggie isn’t any better. She advised Sarah not to say anything. Sarah and Maggie would have gone ballistic if Xander was the one keeping a secret like this.
Speaking of Sarah, she should be renamed Lucky because Philip chose not to sell her out to Xander. Philip could have told Xander that she knew about his plan to take Titan, but he chose not to say anything. Xander should have noticed how nervous Sarah was, but he didn’t. Sarah had no problem threatening Philip about telling Xander the truth, but when the chips were down, he chose not to say anything about her involvement. Would she have done the same thing if Xander found out about her role first? It’s a safe bet she would have sold him out in a heartbeat.

Interview with Titus Welliver of “Bosch: Legacy” on Prime Video by Suzanne 4/10/25
“Bosch” and “Bosch: Legacy” are wonderful shows that I’ve always loved. I read the books about Harry Bosch (by Michael Connelly) years ago and devoured them. They did an excellent job of transferring the stories from the books to the TV, and they couldn’t have done any better than Titus Welliver for playing Bosch. Everyone who’s connected to the show or watches it regularly is sad that the show is ending. It’s such a shame because there are more Bosch stories to tell.
This is a roundtable interview, which means there are 5 of us on the interview. We each had at least 2 questions for Titus, and he answered them in great detail. I’m very honored to have been included. He’s an amazing actor, and not just because of his work with “Bosch.” The series finale for “Bosch: Legacy” airs today. It’s two episodes that not only finish the series but introduce Maggie Q, who will star as Rene Ballard in the new spinoff series “Ballard.”

Titus Welliver

Titus Welliver is a veteran of film, television, and theater. The son of a famous landscape artist Neil Welliver and fashion illustrator Norma Cripps, Welliver originally pursued painting at art school but eventually fell in love with acting and the theater. Welliver’s theater credits include David Mamet’s production of American Buffalo, as well as performances in Naked at the Coast Theater and Shakespeare’s Henry IV. Welliver has also appeared in Riff Raff, written and directed by Laurence Fishburne, which was performed at Circle in the Square Downtown in New York City.
Welliver has also enjoyed a successful collaboration with legendary television producer David Milch, appearing in several of Milch’s shows, including the critically acclaimed HBO episodic, Deadwood. Some fans will always connect Welliver with his portrayal of The Man in Black in the cult favorite ABC series Lost. Welliver also notably played the part of Glenn Childs, Julianne Marguiles’ foil in The Good Wife, and the very dangerous Jimmy O’Phelan in Sons of Anarchy. Welliver’s other television credits are too numerous to list but include Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Suits, The Last Ship, The Mentalist and Chicago PD.
Welliver may now be most identified by his iconic performance as Harry Bosch, the lead character in the hit Amazon Original series Bosch. The show is based on Michael Connelly’s immensely successful book series, currently numbering 21, soon to be 22 novels, about a relentlessly dogged Los Angeles homicide detective.
In addition to Bosch, Welliver has been in every one of actor/director Ben Affleck’s big-screen, directorial outings, including Gone Baby Gone, The Town, Live By Night and Argo. In addition, he has given extremely memorable performances in Michael Bay’s Transformers 4: Age of Existence and opposite Frances McDormand as her love interest in Gus Van Sant’s Promised Land. Welliver will next be seen in the reboot of the 1970’s action classic, Shaft, opposite Samuel L. Jackson.

Paul de Gelder, a former Australian Navy diver, is a shark conservation advocate and motivational speaker recognized for surviving a 2009 bull shark attack in Sydney Harbour, which led to the amputation of his right leg and part of his right arm. He educates the public about sharks and advocates for their conservation, primarily regarding overfishing and shark finning. Since 2013, de Gelder has frequently appeared in Discovery Channel’s “Shark Week” specials , engages in motivational speaking, and authored the book “Shark: Why We Need to Save the World’s Most Misunderstood Predator”.
