You and I could do a press conference together. I’ll discuss my new pediatric sports initiative, and then you could be right up there beside me representing General Hospital. I just don’t really see how that helps. Well, you being there with me would kind of force Curtis and Aurora to cover the story, which would paint me in a very positive light. Ah. What do you say?

What the hell are you doing here? I was in the process of making a business proposal to your wife. Babe, you want to tell me what’s going on? That article dropped today, and it made you realize that you have thrown your life away. You blew up your entire life and your family over a sleaze, and you can’t admit that you were wrong. I was absolutely wrong to cheat on Michael. [ Scoffs ] I have never said otherwise. Finally. But who are you to judge me? No one knows what led up to that affair besides me, Drew, and Michael. You’re gonna be seeing Lulu in no time. Do you think those men are gonna find Papa? Um, well, Valentin made the right call when he let you come with us. Yeah. You mean when he made me come with you. Well, he just wanted to make sure that you were safe, and he can move a lot faster without you. I’ve never met anyone better at disappearing than your dad. You know, it’s infuriating, really. Those men don’t stand a chance. That’s good to hear. I know it — it doesn’t make it hurt any less. Well, I can tell you this much. When Mr. Sidwell says that he deals in rare earths and minerals, he’s not just speaking of gold and diamonds. Well, what does he mean, then? We’ve come to learn that the minerals he speaks of are strictly regulated vital components for weapons manufacturing. Do you think that’s why he’s in Port Charles, so he can smuggle that stuff through our port? Well, we don’t have evidence to suggest it yet, but it would be in both our best interests to keep an eye on Mr. Sidwell. Agreed. So… what do you want to share with the class? Well, I do have one interesting tidbit. Do tell. Carly Spencer is making a valiant effort to not notice you, but she is failing. Miserably. Carly, what is so fascinating about Jack Brennan’s meeting with the deputy mayor? Nothing. Then why do you keep staring at them? I’m not. I just scan the room, looking at my patrons, making sure they’re happy. It’s the truth. It’s a habit. Why do I care who Jack Brennan spends his time with?

[ Cellphone dings ] Excuse me. My congressional office is spearheading a pediatric sports initiative for kids in treatment. It’s gonna be very therapeutic, very morale boosting and, uh — I’m surprised Trina hasn’t mentioned that to you. Trina? Yeah. Her friend Kai Taylor is generously lending his local celebrity status to get the program off the ground. And you’re in my wife’s office because…? Well, she’s the co-Chief of Staff, and the initiative is gonna be administered by General Hospital. It’s gonna look great for GH to have Portia up there, right next to me during the press conference. In fact, she already agreed to do it, right? Drew, I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t put words in my mouth.

[ Doorbell rings ] You have got to be kidding me. Is this Grand Central Station? Do you want me to get it? No, I’ll get it. Hi. Ric. Hi. Yeah. Uh, is it okay if I come in? Um, actually, it’s not the best time right now. It’s just gonna take a minute. I promise. It’s important. Come in. And here I thought this night couldn’t get any better.

Hope I didn’t interrupt anything. Have you ever said that and meant it? So, what brings you by, Ric? Uh, many things. But, uh, since Lucky is here already, I might as well start by saying thank you. I’d hate to walk away feeling like I left a good deed unrewarded. I found something on the floor and picked it up. I mean, that hardly makes me a hero. Anyone with eyes could see you mooning over Drew. Excuse after excuse, coming up with ways to be with him or just around him. Even Michael noticed. My issues with Michael started way before you moved in. And guess what. We all made mistakes. Me, Drew, and Michael. I think the only mistake Michael made was trusting you to be faithful. Hell, just trusting you, period. When you told him that it was just a harmless crush, that your heart was still with him and the kids, he believed you. And when he found out that you had acted on those feelings, he was devastated. So, yes, I will judge you, and I will not feel bad about it. Remind me of your due date again. You got pregnant, what? Beginning of November-ish. Right around the time Jason was mourning Sam. Are you serious? I’m just doing the math, Sasha. Wow. Oh, my God. Jason and Sam were not even together when Sam died, and they hadn’t been for years. But everyone knows their love story was epic. Sam was an obstacle for anyone who wanted Jason. But with her out of the picture, you saw your opening and you took it. So, why didn’t you want Charlotte to call Lulu? Well, I know I said that I didn’t think the WSB would go after Charlotte… But what? You changed your mind? Those agents in Argentina weren’t sent by Brennan. So that means someone — or multiple someones — at the bureau have a vested interest in shutting Valentin up permanently. They probably figured out by now that he handed Charlotte off to us. I mean, it would be a lot easier to grab Charlotte and use her to lure Valentin out than it would be to find him. They could have tapped Lulu’s phone for all we know, maybe waiting for us to contact her. But Lulu needs to know that her daughter’s coming home. She will. But in order to do that and to get Charlotte home safely, we’re gonna need to contact someone first.

Is Miami home? I live up in Bar Harbor. I was just in the city for a client meeting. What about you? I’m here for a medical symposium. Oh. Are you a doctor? I am. That’s impressive. So, how’s the symposium going? Have you learned a lot? [ Chuckles ] Um… Uh, well, that I’m — I’m destined to make the same mistakes forever, apparently. Uh-oh. I’m — I’m — I’m sorry. I had a few drinks earlier. I am majorly oversharing. I don’t mind. What kind of mistakes are we talking? Well, let me put it this way. My ex is also on this trip, and, um… it didn’t end well. I actually hadn’t given Drew an answer on whether or not I would do the press conference. My bad. I was just wishful thinking. This program — it’s your baby. When it finally gets announced, you should be the one to take all that credit. It’s a partnership with the hospital. With you, Portia. So what happens to one of us is gonna happen to the other. I am a huge proponent of that cause. Right. Just not the man spearheading it. I get it. But the good news is the intention here is obviously just to benefit the kids.

Okay, then. I’ll — I’ll do it. Babe, are you sure about this? On top of being a worthy cause, this could generate a whole ton of positive publicity for General Hospital, which could mean an influx of donors, which helps all the patients here at General Hospital, not just the ones in Pediatrics. And finally, as co-Chief of Staff bringing money in for the hospital? I mean, Portia, you know how quickly things can change at the top. This could help keep you there. And maybe, just maybe it’ll help people forget about “Congressman Cutthroat.” [ Chuckling ] Yeah. I mean, I don’t really care what people call me, but since we’re on the subject of publicity, I would like to offer you, Curtis, and Aurora the opportunity to cover the kickoff exclusively. What do you say?

At least with Drew, I was acting on my sincere feelings. You acted on greed. What? Oh, come on. Jason’s wealthy on his own. Add in that Quartermaine connection? Credit where credit is due, Sasha. This baby might have been the best con you’ve ever pulled. And what do you call telling Michael that you’d love, honor, and cherish him till death do you part? Hmm? Brennan’s gonna meet us on the tarmac. I-I don’t know. Are you sure about bringing Brennan into this? I mean, how do you know the guys weren’t lying when they said they weren’t acting on Brennan’s orders? I can’t be certain of everything. Yeah, exactly. So we could be delivering Charlotte right into the hands of a man who’s gonna use her as a means to eliminate Valentin. Alright, Brennan may well be on the hunt for Valentin, but there is a crucial difference between him and those other agents. Which is? Well, Jack knows that if anything were to happen to Charlotte on his watch, Carly would never forgive him for it. Brennan doesn’t care what Carly thinks. Yes, he does. I mean, initially, I wasn’t sure about this, but it has become increasingly clear that when it comes to Carly, Jack doesn’t seem to have any ulterior motives. I mean, I think he’s just smitten with her. So, that — that’s all it takes to become a good guy? No. I didn’t say that Jack was a good guy. All I’m saying is that, in this instant and for our purposes, Jack wants to see Charlotte reunited with her mother as much as we do. Everything else aside, you nearly died to save Elizabeth. For that, you have my gratitude. What’s this? The real reason that I came here. It’s a hard copy of the Medical Review Board’s final decision — suitable for framing. You are officially exonerated of all responsibility in the deaths of Sylvie Mullen, Dex Heller, and Sam McCall. Didn’t we already know this? It’s still really nice to see it in writing. I was also able to secure back pay for the days of work that you were forced to miss. Oh, my God, thank you, Ric. I really — I really appreciate that. And not just all the hard work you’ve done, but, I mean, for making the effort to come over and drop this off. Well, I’m sure there is a million things that you should be doing. Sasha said things are pretty “tense” over there, and if Drew is going after the Quartermaine crypt, I’m guessing they’re way past “tense.” He’s really coming for the family crypt, and Tracy is freaking out. I don’t blame her. I went through something similar with Virginia’s grave, and it was awful. And that’s just one family member. Right, and, I mean, we’re talking about Lila, Edward, Alan, to name a few. Of course she’s gonna fight tooth and nail for them. Yeah, I mean, I’d say I’m disappointed in Drew, but I never really liked him to begin with, so… Join the club. You will see that our membership is rapidly growing. I’m terribly sorry, but I’m afraid I’m gonna have to cut this meeting short. Oh, I was getting ready to head out anyway. Fund raisers wait for no one. No, they don’t. [ Sighs ] [ Ringing continues ] Deputy Mayor Ashford. I’ll be there as soon as I can. Okay, did Tracy really get arrested? Mm, never underestimate how far people are willing to go for their loved ones. Well, that’s true. Mm. Good evening, ladies. Jack. I’m sorry, Miss Spencer, but you’re gonna have to come with me. And then Brad and I got divorced, and Brad got sentenced to six months in prison. Wow. One more, then I’m just — I’m cutting myself off. Your ex must have really loved you. Why do you say that? Don’t get me wrong. He did a terrible thing. But I do believe it was to spare your pain. Brad risked his freedom. He risked everything, really. You know, you’re the first person to hear that story and have that reaction. Do you disagree? No. But that’s the part that kills me. I know Brad did what he did because he loves me. He always wanted a family of our own. He thought it would break my heart if I couldn’t have a child, so… he gave me one. And then he ended up breaking your heart anyway. Yeah, and he hurt a lot of other people, too. And — And no amount of — of love or good intentions in the world can change that. No. But it can’t erase the time you had with Wiley and Brad, either. That boy — Wiley? He may not be your son, but he’s still a part of you, Lucas. He’s the child of your heart. And he always will be. You’re right. I had a year and a half of being a dad. Those memories are mine forever. No one can take them away. You know, you’re gonna want to put that in your records as soon as possible. Um, as a matter of fact, I would do it now just in case you forget, you know? Yeah, I’ll — I’ll do that right now, and then I’ll be back to walk you out. Word of advice? Send a messenger next time. The initiative that he’s spearheading — it’s not only good for the kids, which is enough right there, but it’s also good for the entire hospital. As a doctor, as a mother, I have to support that, no matter what I think or feel about Drew.

If it was just him asking, there’s no way I’d let Aurora get involved in his press conference. But you’re involved. Tell me — do you want me to cover this? Yeah. Yeah, I do. You know, for the reasons that I just said. And also Trina. Kai’s involved. You know, your support would mean so much to her. There are so many reasons to say yes, but there’s only one reason to say no. It’s a big reason. It absolutely is. But don’t let Drew’s awfulness keep you from contributing to a good cause. We both know it’s worthwhile. Honey, don’t let Drew have that kind of power over you. Well, thank you for getting here so quickly. I’m on my way to a fundraiser, so I don’t have much time. Okay. Well, I’ll make this quick. My office is spearheading a pediatric sports initiative in conjunction with GH, and we’re organizing a press conference to announce it. Sounds like a great cause. It really is. It really is. And Portia Robinson has agreed to participate. I’m hoping Aurora has exclusive coverage of the event. And I would love for you to be there representing the mayor’s office. I’m about to see my daughter. You seem to be doing better these days. Oh, I don’t know if I’d go that far, but I’m not in Boston drowning myself in work anymore, so that’s something. Boston, interesting. Mnh. It wasn’t. That’s my fault. Um, after everything with Wiley and Brad, I went to Boston. I didn’t — I didn’t date, like, at all. I barely kept in contact with my friends and family. What changed? My mom died. I’m very sorry to hear that. Yeah. It was like a real wake-up call, you know? Like, our time here is so limited. We have to do as much with it as we can. We have to love people while they’re still here. So, you went home? Yeah. I still work a lot. And no action on the dating front, but I’m not hiding from life, so… there’s that. That’s a lot. It takes courage to face the things that scare you. So, how is it? Oh, well, being back with my family and friends is great. And shockingly, it hasn’t been so horrible seeing Brad again. Did seeing him stir up some old emotions? Mm, sort of. I — I started to remember why I fell in love with him in the first place and how happy he made me once upon a time. And he helped me through a really terrible time, made me feel less lonely. Someone who can do that will always have a place in your heart. Maybe not the place they used to, but…a place. And then when I found out that he’d be at this symposium… You thought it was a sign. [ Sighs ] He — He was so kind and supportive. It — It was like he was the person I fell for in the beginning and… I don’t know, with the — the beach and the moon and the tropical breeze… I started to feel something that I haven’t felt in a very long time. Possibility. Yeah. And we were just at the brink of putting it back together. But then Brad decides to tell me how he got on this trip, and it turns out he is still the same lying, manipulative person he always was. And, well, per usual, it is driven by his love for yours truly. So… maybe that’s the problem. Love? That can’t be the only answer to loneliness, right? Companionship comes in all shapes and sizes. Well… maybe… it’s as simple as… finding a gorgeous man, telling him he’s gorgeous, and taking it from there.

Drew also said that Aurora might be getting involved. Is there any truth to that? But it was this “aha” moment when I realized that our lives were just incompatible. Uh-huh. Okay. And you said this to him? I did, yeah. How did he take that? Quietly. You know, he just kind of walked away, and I haven’t seen him since. Until right now. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. It sounds like your rejection might have hurt his feelings. Oh, come on. [ Scoffs ] Jack Brennan has a woman in every city. I just happen to be the one in Port Charles. Well, me and Vivian. Who’s Vivian? It doesn’t matter. Look, the point is, I can’t go down this road because even if I wanted to, Jack Brennan will never commit. To what? What do you mean? Well, like, to what? What kind of commitment are you looking for? Woman: [ Gasps ] There’s your baby. Oh, my God. [ Chuckles ] Would you like to know the sex? [ Elevator dings ] Good evening, Congressman. [ Sighs ] What are you looking for, exactly? Like, to settle down? Are we talking marriage? No. I love my life. I mean, I’m happy to never get married again. And then those old headlines will be gone and forgotten in no time. Like a day — maybe two. It’s gonna work out. I promise. When you say it, I believe it.

Either you and Lulu worked everything out, or you’re getting soft because that bag wasn’t doing a lot of moving. That’s rich coming from the guy who’s more likely to knock himself out with his right hook than anyone else. Hilarious. But seriously, though, something’s changed with you and Lulu, hasn’t it? Yeah. You know, we, uh — we talked. And? I can’t tell you how long I have been a fan of your work, Mr. Beckett. I appreciate that, but I’d appreciate it even more if you called me Geoffrey. [ Laughs ] Okay, Geoffrey, when I read your moving piece about trekking through the archipelagos of Tierra del Fuego, it took my breath away. I have never read anything like it. That was in the Explorer’s Journal? It was, it was. And I know nothing about being a wildlife journalist, I’m not exactly a nature girl, but your work makes me wish I were. You were discharged on the condition that you would be watched for 24 more hours. And since Kevin and Laura are working, you’re stuck with me. So buckle up, Miss Daisy. Wow. It’s gonna be like that, huh? Okay, well, on the bright side, my own private nurse, 24-hour care. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, I guess it’s okay. “Okay.” It’s just “okay”? Really? [ Doorbell rings ] Huh. Hi. So, how’s the hero? “Congressman Drew Quartermaine once hailed as a man of the people, is earning a new nickname — Congressman Cutthroat, after waging a ruthless war against his own family, specifically Tracy Quartermaine, beloved socialite and philanthropist. Insiders claim the congressman has used his political influence to force a relocation of the family mausoleum, and the potential exhumation of generations of esteemed members of the Quartermaine family. The drama reached its peak last evening when the congressman had Miss Quartermaine arrested, leaving many to wonder just how far Congressman Cutthroat will go in his quest for revenge.” What the hell was he thinking? And how do we protect Scout from it? I don’t expect my press conference to go more than 30 minutes, but then there’s always a lot of questions afterwards, you know? Well, that’s no problem. Aurora Media will cover every word. Oh, wonderful. It’s nice to have one less thing to worry about. By the way… You were behind this, weren’t you? Yeah. Way to go. I am sorry to just barge in like this, but I wanted to check on you and I wanted to say thank you to both of you, actually. For what? Cyrus. I mean, he tried to kill Michael in the hospital. You know, he did kill Sam and Dex, and you guys figured it out, and you brought him to justice. Well, we had a lot of help. I’m just relieved that everything worked out. And, I mean, there’s more than a couple moments where I thought that he would get away with it. But he didn’t, and that’s all that matters. So. All right. What are you gonna do now that you’re home finally? I… I don’t have any plans except to dig into this beautiful basket that you brought over. Oh, when my agent called and told me about Crimson, I was more than a little surprised. I don’t get too many calls from fashion magazines. Or any, actually. Well, I’m happy to be your first, then. You know, our focus testing has consistently shown that our readers are extremely interested in travel and nature, and so Crimson is branching out to satisfy their interests. That’s why your magazine is the leading and most influential fashion and lifestyle publication in the world. I didn’t just know that, I looked it up on the internet. Well, since we’re being honest, I did a little research on your next trip online, too. You were doing a month hiking on the Lycian Way? Yeah. I am excited to check Turkey off my bucket list. Yeah. I mean, don’t you ever get worried about getting hurt on one of your hikes? You’re out there all alone. Yeah, but before I was a wildlife journalist, I was an ER doc, so I feel like I can handle almost anything. Yeah. Well, how does your wife or partner feel about you being gone for such long periods of time? No wife, no partner. So you’re single? For the moment. Oh! You have someone special waiting in the wings then? No. I have this feeling I’m gonna meet someone special soon. And I’ve learned to trust my feelings. Well, in that case. Of course DeWitt wrote that. That seedy little warm would write anything to get clicks. I remember his work all too well. Remember Blaze, me, and the recordings that he wrote about? I hate to admit it, but The Invader is a better fit for him. I guess Drew does deserve this. I’ll never forgive him for coming between Michael and Willow. Even if Drew does deserve this, Scout doesn’t. You know how kids are. If one of the kids at school finds out and says something to her, she’s gonna be devastated. Yeah, she’s way too young to deal with all this. DeWitt would sooner die than — than take a call from me. So there’s not gonna be a retraction. There’s got to be something else I can do to protect Scout. I couldn’t care less about that article. The Invader is nothing but lies. And that article is no exception. Well, then what is it? It just feels like all eyes are on us right now. So I’m just trying to keep a low profile and focus on work. But it has nothing to do with my feelings for you, I promise. I believe you. I just don’t think we should do anything extra to draw attention to ourselves. Yeah, I probably should have thought this through a little bit more. I mean, my office has been bombarded by calls all morning, so maybe it wasn’t the best day for me to bring you flowers. Do you know who’s behind that article? No, but I have my suspicions. What could be worse than losing my husband and losing my job? If you had just altered test results, odds are you would have just lost your job. But these test results are tied to Heather Weber’s criminal trial. And that means there’d be a very real possibility that you could face jail time. Jail time? Where did jail time come from? Look, look, look. You could be charged with obstruction of justice, tampering with evidence, fraud, criminal negligence. No, Rick, I can’t. This can’t happen. Please. [ Stammers ] Doctor. Doctor. Dr. Robinson, listen to me. If we had not found that outlier exam, Heather Webber would have remained in prison wrongfully. This is a very serious situation. What do I do? [ Sighs ] Keep playing by Drew’s rules. And make sure he never tells anyone what you did. It’s too late for that. Drew is gonna expose me. He’s gonna expose me today. It’s kind of a long story, but Lulu and I both ended up babysitting Bailey Lou together. That’s a lot of babysitting firepower for Bailey Lou. Yeah, it wasn’t planned. It just kind of happened. And I don’t know. I don’t know what it was. Maybe just being back in that house together, we both let our guards down and we had the first talk, real talk we’ve had since she woke up. That’s great. Yeah. Hard to explain, man. But it’s the first time I felt like we’ve been in sync. Just had an honest conversation about Rocco, Charlotte, Brook Lynn. What about Brook Lynn? Well, nothing bad, it’s just I’ve been defending Brook Lynn to Lulu. That makes Lulu feel like I’m picking a side and it’s not hers, and I just got to stop doing that. I guess I could see that. It’s kind of surprising, though. I never thought all the animosity between Brook Lynn and Lu would still be there after Lulu woke up. I know that’s what I’m thinking. Like four years, you think would be enough for them to get past it, but it’s not. And I just got to be okay with that and let Lulu be Lulu. Well, did something happen that made you want to cut Lulu some slack? No. No, I just kind of figured she and Brook Lynn are gonna do what they’re gonna do, and I don’t want to be in the middle of it anymore. I just want to focus on the fact that Lulu is back, and I’m just happy she’s in our lives again. Come in, I didn’t expect to see you here today. Meet Crimson’s new contributor, Geoffrey Beckett. And whenever he’s feeling homesick or, you know, if he just needs, like, an extra boost on the road to recovery, he could watch them. And, you know, he really — he needs all the support he can get right now, so. Well, it sounds like something the kids would love to do. Great. I appreciate you giving me an update on Michael. Everyone else has kept me out of the loop. I just have one condition with the video recordings. When you’re with the kids, please focus on them and Michael. Don’t mention anything negative about Drew. I would never say anything bad in front of the kids. None of this is easy for them. Yeah, it really isn’t. I just wish everyone could be a bit more like you. There was a damaging article in The Invader this morning on Drew, and he’s gonna assume that Curtis was behind it. If I can’t influence Curtis, Drew has no reason to protect my secret. Yeah, if that’s what you expect, I can see why you panicked. But what about what Drew’s doing, right? It’s illegal what he’s doing to me. Yes. But you can’t expose him without the risk of exposing yourself in the process. Then — Then that’s it. Curtis is gonna find out, and then Trina, then the hospital. It’s gonna be impossible for me to hide this. Look, the way I see it, you have two choices here. Either you — You convince Drew that Curtis had nothing to do with the article… Or? Or… you tell Curtis everything now. I mean, you may still lose your job, but at least you have a chance to save your marriage. Or maybe — Maybe I can save both. Maybe we could have a little date later tonight. All I have seen him do is pose for the cameras and then abuse his power. So at this point, anyone who is willing to expose him, I applaud. Drew’s biggest weakness is his need to be seen as a hero. So that’s why I targeted him the way I did. You know, maybe we can use that weakness to get him to actually act like a hero. Sorry to intrude. No. No interruption. Come in. Please. Hey. I have a few minutes. Look, I am really worried about the negative press that Drew is getting and how it’s gonna affect you and my grandchildren. Wiley is old enough to hear about this in school. That doesn’t sound like Rocco. He loves his sister. Yeah, I don’t think so either. But there’s something going on. You know, we’ve gotten pretty tight since he moved into the Quartermaines. You know, at Rocco’s age, usually acting distracted, it means girls. Girls. I was thinking that, too. I walked in the kitchen the other day, and him and Danny are in an argument and it was over a girl. I was asking Rocco about it, but he wouldn’t say much. You know, teenage boys talking about that stuff is highly classified and private. I remember when I was his age, I wouldn’t tell my mother anything. Do you think Olivia would have hated the girls you brought home? No. I think she actually would have liked them. One in particular. Well, I can’t believe I forgot that it was teacher-in-service day and that you’d be home early. If I’d remembered, I would have hidden Carly’s basket so there’d be some left for us. I left some fig things in there. I’m just glad Dad’s home and he’s okay. And he’s staying with us tonight. The doctor wants him to have round the clock supervision. And I figured that even if my relationship with Nikolas didn’t work out, I would have a very generous divorce settlement. Right, which I did until the Cassadine curse kicked in and that family found a way to claw back all the money. Ava, of course I’m going to give you a loan. I’ve been waiting for you to ask me. I mean, seriously. What took you so long? I don’t care what names The Invader calls me. I’m not in the wrong here. Carly. The Quartermaine crypt is on public land. It’s got to be moved. How can you possibly be the same man who held me when they were trying to move Virginia’s grave? That was — That was horrible. And it was the worst kind of wrong, but this — this is wrong too. You saw much that destroyed me, and you’re doing the exact same thing to Lila and Edward. Does family mean nothing to you? I’m doing this to try to keep my place in the family. Tracy is the one that’s trying to strip that away from me. Using your position in Congress is not the way to do it. If you keep justifying things like that, you’re gonna see a recall in your future. How can you be such a hypocrite? I’m the hypocrite? Wh– That’s really special. Coming from Miss Goody Two-Shoes. You turned on me the second you saw me kissing Michael’s uncle on the 4th of July. No, I didn’t. But what you did was way worse. You dated Michael, but here you are, pregnant by his other uncle. I gotta say, Portia, I am really disappointed in you. I thought that you could get Curtis to see some reason and move on from hating me. But instead, I find out that my good friend Curtis is the one behind the scathing article in The Invader. I don’t think that he was. Portia. Come on. Come on. I’m serious. The Quartermaines are a huge family in this town. Almost anybody would be interested in running an article about them. Plus, Curtis has all of Aurora Media at his fingertips. Why would he use a rag tag like The Invader when he has all these reputable sources at his fingertips? That’s a good point. Could be a great point if you can convince Curtis to run a series of articles through Aurora Media pushing back against The Invader. Like articles focusing on me being a family man and a hard-working congressman and an ex-Navy Seal. If I defend you to Curtis any more than I already have, it’s gonna tip him off. That would be unfortunate for you, but I’m willing to take the risk. Are you sure about that? I mean, it’s one thing to go after Curtis directly, but it’s a whole other thing to go after him through his wife. I mean, you know Curtis, if he finds out that you’re blackmailing me, he’s gonna go to a whole other level. Are you sure you’re ready to take that on? Is this still a good time? Missed call from Portia. I’ll call her back. How can I help you? It’s about the article in The Invader. Did you read it? Oh, yeah, I read it. He didn’t look too good, did he? No, he really didn’t. He came across like a villain, and Tracy came across like a hapless innocent, which couldn’t be further from the truth. Which part? I was there when it happened, and Tracy was more than holding her own. Oh, I don’t doubt that. So DeWitt is not gonna retract that article. So I was hoping that you might be able to write an article about Drew that is more balanced, and one that might protect his image. Why would I do that? Because I’m worried about the public turning on him and how my granddaughter will feel about that. And because you have the resources to help. Alexis. I am sympathetic to Scout’s situation, but Drew made himself look bad — not the article. I’m sorry. I value our friendship. I can’t help you this time. I’m sorry too. I tried. Did you ever think by shielding Drew from the consequences of his actions, that you’re not holding him accountable, you are, in fact, enabling him? I’m gonna get going. [ Gasps ] You are so, so wrong. But let’s talk about you landing with your husband’s very wealthy uncle. That was what? Just a coincidence? Just one more thing you couldn’t control. How could you — And speaking of cons and Drew, that’s what’s really bothering you, isn’t it? That article dropped today, and it made you realize that you had thrown your life away. You blew up your life and your family over a sleaze, and you can’t admit that you were wrong. There has to be another way I can help you. That doesn’t involve approaching Curtis about writing some sort of puff piece about you. I got it! You and I could do a press conference together. I’ll discuss my new pediatric sports initiative, and then you could be up there standing right next to me representing General Hospital. I don’t see how that helps. You being up there with me kind of forces Curtis and Aurora to cover the story, which would paint me in a very positive light. What do you say? What the hell are you doing here?

So what do you propose we do? Okay, well, we already agreed that you were gonna stall Willow. So you keep her at your place or set her up in a place of her own. But we have to do whatever it takes to stop her from taking those kids and moving in with Drew. Well, I’m doing the best I can. I’m trying. Okay, well, try harder, because Drew is pushing this, and we just have to believe that somehow Willow knows that this is a bad idea. So the longer we can keep her from moving in with him, the better. And then we can work on exposing Drew. And so how do you suggest we do that? We need to get into his house. We have to get into his house and find something so undeniable that Willow will never look at him the same again. Well, what if we don’t find anything? What if there’s nothing to find? We make sure there is.

But there is one thing that makes your situation different, as far as single mothers go. Your baby’s father. Anna saved your life tonight — and your dad’s. You were there, too. Why give her all of the credit? I mean, I bet you didn’t even need her help. You know, Anna was the first one to warn your dad that he was in trouble. When we were still in Port Charles? Yeah. Actually, I wanted to turn him in. And Anna convinced me to give him a head start. She’s the reason that you guys got a chance to run. And then when your dad got into even more trouble and the WSB was after him, Anna knew that your dad would want to keep you safe, so she tracked you down again. She did that because she felt guilty for shooting me. Yeah, that’s — that’s a part of it. But everybody knows that you’re your dad’s whole world. So Anna is protecting you for him because she cares about both of you, and she’s gonna do everything she can to keep you safe. So you get to feel however you want about her… but at the very least, she deserves a little respect. Those guys really would’ve killed us tonight? Yeah, they really would’ve. Charlotte’s sleeping. Maybe we could just let him save face, afford him a little bit of dignity… he’ll back off. I hear what you’re saying. And you don’t agree? Well, you know, Drew’s reputation is tarnished. It’s not on me to fix that for him. But you don’t need to rub it in his face. If you could just accommodate him a tiny bit, it could work out in your favor. Okay. Look. Here’s the deal. The situation with Drew has gone from bad to worse. He is officially out of control.

You may be in the catbird seat right now, Tracy, but that’s gonna change. I mean, right now, yes, I’m the black sheep, I’m on the outside looking in. But not for long. Because as much as you hate to admit it, I am a Quartermaine and I will get my way. Huh! Is that so? And you know what happens then? You’re on the outs with your nose pressed up against the glass, wondering how you got there. And the answer… is me. I’m how. And I will relish every second. Congressman, the Mayor would like a word.

Mayor Collins. It’s always a pleasure. I’m sorry that Tracy dragged you down here this time of night. Oh — No. That was me. Drew, I am going to urge you to do the right thing here. Which is what, in your opinion, Madam Mayor? Stand down. Drop the charges against Tracy Quartermaine. And why would I do that? May I be blunt? Please. Because if you don’t, it won’t bode well for you, politically or otherwise. Dante: I don’t think Rocco’s like that. I don’t think he’d be jealous of Charlotte. Then what is it? Well, I thought maybe he was picking up on the tension between me and you. But you don’t think so anymore? No, I actually think it’s simpler than that. I think he’s…perceptive. Like you. And he can see how worried you are about Charlotte. And in his own weird, non-subtle way, he’s trying to give you space. I hope you’re right. Oh, well, that’s saying something ’cause you never want me to be right. It’s just — It’s the strangest feeling, Dante. I am Rocco’s mother, I’ve raised him, but then I missed this pivotal stage of his life, and then, whoosh, I’m out of the loop, and I know nothing about parenting a teenage boy. No, no, no. I think you’re doing great. Am I, though? Because it doesn’t feel like it. Yeah, but that’s the thing with teenagers. You never feel like you’re doing anything right. I can’t imagine what it would be like to miss out on years of your kid’s life. And you’ve had to do it twice. Literally both of your children, you’ve had to make up for lost time, and you’re doing it with grace and love and patience. I don’t know about that last one. Well, I do. I miss out on that many treasured moments, I wouldn’t be handling it anywhere close to as well as you are. If you ever got locked up… I’d buy you a cake, then I’d hide a file in it so you could spring yourself and Tracy. Tracy has her own file. It’s called the Quartermaine legal team. [ Chuckles ] You know, I was pretty intimidated by her at first, but I like her. She always gives it to you straight, even if it’s not what you want to hear. Maybe especially then. Maybe. She can take it as good as she gives it. Tracy actually listens to me. Well, then, I think Tracy sounds pretty smart. I really wish I could stay and guard the crypt with you. It’s fine. You got your meeting. Those lab animals aren’t gonna free themselves, you know. Okay. But one of these days, I’m gonna take you on a real camping trip. Ehh. I’m all set. This time’s enough for me. Yeah. I’ll try. I told your mother to consult a lawyer because I wanted to make sure all of you were protected. But it was you and your mother that decided on a closed adoption. For a reason. For many reasons. So my baby could have a happy and stable life. For you, too, so you could have a stable and happy life. We wanted you to have enough time to grow up, to fall in love, and then have a family of your own. Okay, Grandma, but I’m not 16 anymore. A closed adoption made sense then, but it’s starting to make less sense now. Brook Lynn — No, Ma! I need to know who adopted my son! And where is he? Carly, I respect your opinion, and I know you’re close to Jason, but my experience with him has been a little different. Yeah, he’s protective. For sure. And he will definitely speak his mind if he thinks you’re putting yourself at risk. But he will never tell you how to be a mother. I believe that. And if you or the baby ever need anything, he’ll be there in a heartbeat. Jason is the most loyal person I know. Don’t do yourself a disservice and cut him out of your baby’s life. Carly, I know how lucky I am. Not only am I preparing to have a baby who I cannot wait to meet… …but the father respects my wishes and has agreed to support me in any way he can. It’s the second-greatest gift he could give me. And Drew admitted that he was the one who called the county’s surveyor in. Wow. I never thought I’d have sympathy for the Quartermaines. You know, this just sounds like their normal family drama. I say we do what we always do. Stay out of it. With all due respect, I disagree. This isn’t about the Quartermaines and how dysfunctional they are. It’s about how Drew is abusing his power. You endorsed him for Congressman. Which clearly was a mistake. First, he blocks the Esplanade and attempts to move it for his own personal gain, and now he’s focused on settling a score with his family? Drew needs to be doing his job — enacting laws, securing funding for our schools, or fulfilling any of the other campaign promises. The only thing that will check Drew is public outcry. Well, it’s a good thing that I know somebody who is the head of a media company. [ Sighs ] Look, I don’t want to make any promises, but I will see what I can do. Drew: It’s not like I’m making it up. It’s not like I’m attacking the Quartermaines for no reason. They broke the law. The land was public. They took it without thought. I mean, don’t I owe it to my constituents not to turn a blind eye just because Tracy’s family? I understand where you’re coming from. I do. I do. But do you really think that putting Tracy Quartermaine in jail overnight is — is the pathway to justice? Seems like a whole lot more trouble than it’s worth. Fine. Tracy can go home. I will talk to the surveyor and I’ll get him to drop the charges. Thank you, Drew. But I will say this. It’s far from over. Brook Lynn, I can explain. She doesn’t know the details. But you do. You know where my son went. Yes, but I haven’t been in contact since the papers were signed on a closed adoption. Okay, but what if I want to find him? Grandma, you know what Chase and I have been going through trying to start a family. What if I gave away the only child I’ll ever have? You may not have raised that boy, but you are the birth mother, and now you gotta act like it. Let that young man be. [ Gasps ] “Young man.” Brook Lynn, don’t put your pain on your son. You made the right decision years ago. Abide by it. You may be right, but it certainly doesn’t feel that way right now.

Ma, I can’t do this. Lower your voice. Ma, do you see how heartbroken she is? I can’t do this to her. Brook Lynn needs to know that Gio is her son. There’s only one person to blame for Valentin’s situation, and that’s Valentin. I don’t even know how he’s gonna get out of this one. He may not. [ Sighs ] And I don’t think Charlotte’s in a position to accept any of that. Well, she doesn’t want to accept it. Jason, she may be losing her father. If she needs someone to blame, it might as well be me. T-That’s not what Charlotte needs. Charlotte needs an example. She needs to see how somebody makes mistakes and what they do afterward. She sees that you made mistakes and that you’re being accountable and that you’re keeping your word to her father. She doesn’t need you to disappear. I don’t think I can do all that, not — not given the pain that I put her through. I’ve never seen you run before. Don’t start now. You can’t tell Brook Lynn the truth.

No. Ma, we have held so much from her over the years. It’s not fair! Not to Brook Lynn and not to Gio. Honey. Gio knows who he is. He’s Camilla’s son. He worshipped his mother. Carly, I am fully aware that I have it a lot better than most single moms. I wasn’t left high and dry to support a baby on my own. I asked the father to step back, and he didn’t fight me on it. Okay, but you may change your mind once the baby’s born. Life is a big fan of throwing curveballs our way. I promise you. If I need any help from the father, I won’t hesitate to ask for it. Honey, let Drew implode all on his own. Let Tracy and the Quartermaines handle him. This isn’t even about my animosity towards him. I mean, you heard Jordan. I want to do a big Aurora media push on Drew Quartermaine’s abuse of office. Drew, you’re a United States Congressman. I don’t think a man like you needs an enemy like Tracy Quartermaine. To protect Brook Lynn and her child. Exactly. And nothing has changed. They need you to protect them now. Sorry I’m being so cryptic. Well… we are at a crypt. That gives me an advantage that law enforcement doesn’t have. And if I can learn something that could prevent him from hurting anyone else, then I’ve got to try. If he and Charlotte are in there, they’re alone.

Valentin: Charlotte. Get away from the window. Come on. You know better than that. I know, I’m sorry, but something’s up. I don’t like it here. How long do we have to stay? Not long. Thank God. No, no. It’s not. Look, I promise, okay? I saw Martin this morning, and he doesn’t have any clue that Lulu broke into his hotel room. Is it even breaking and entering if she had an actual key? Okay, you know what? I changed my mind. I don’t think I want to know. Cool, cool. This conversation never happened. No, but the problem is, it did happen. And now I know that she’s out of control. Dante’s life will be better once he knows the truth. Wh– When I found out about Charlotte, my whole world changed. That was a completely different situation, Lulu. Charlotte was still a child when you found her. My child… My son is legally an adult by now. He’s lived an entire life without me or Dante. He might not even know he’s adopted. And what if he does? What if he wants to know who his birth parents are and why they gave him up? It would be the happiest day of my life if he showed up on my doorstep and asked why. Maybe he wouldn’t hate me. Maybe he’d want me to be in his life. Then tell Dante and make it happen. No! Because it’s the child’s choice. Not mine, not Dante’s, and certainly not yours. And if I tell Dante, you know he would move Heaven and earth to find his child. Yes he would. Because Dante is a wonderful father. Any boy would be lucky to have Dante in his life. That conservation area is protected, which means the Quartermaines can’t take it just because they want to, so I don’t care who you think you are, you’re not going to get your way this time. Well, now that Gio is living here, the Quartermaines can support him financially. Okay, well, that is up to Gio, and clearly he chose Sonny. Gio: Aunt Lois! Gio, I’m in here. Hey, honey. Ever since Lulu woke up, she’s been… tearing into Brook Lynn like, every chance she gets. Okay, maybe she’s just making up for lost time Okay, but then I have to defend Brook Lynn, and that hurts Lulu. Here’s a wild idea, but have you considered talking to Lulu about this? Actually, yes, I have. And I asked her to maybe have a little patience with Brook Lynn. But that only made Lulu think that I was taking Brook Lynn’s side over hers. You did. You do know that, right? No, I did– Look. Maybe I could understand her more if she would talk to me. But the problem is we can’t talk anymore. [ Sighs ] Because of Sam. Because Sam. I miss her a lot, Maxie. And I’m just trying to keep our family together. That has to be incredibly hard. And something’s going on with Rocco, too. I don’t know, it’s probably because there’s all this tension between me and Lulu, and that’s having an effect on him and that’s not okay. My number one priority is being a dad to my son, and I would do anything for him. Are you saying that you would lie, and say Dante wasn’t the father? I’m saying I would do anything to protect my son’s happiness. Don’t pretend you’re doing this for your son. You’re doing it for you. You don’t want Dante to know because you don’t want him to hate you. You’re right, I don’t. But if I had to choose between Dante’s happiness and my child’s, I would choose my child’s any day. And I know that you would do the same damn thing. You have no idea what I would do. And only someone as arrogant as you would pretend that they do. You have always been so threatened by my relationship with Dante. Even when the two of you were solid. You mean when you couldn’t break us up? Ask yourself one thing — Will exposing me to Dante and telling him the truth be worth hurting him? I’m not hurting him, you are! How? How can Dante miss a son he doesn’t even know he has? How convenient. For you. It’s not! It’s agony! And if you tell Dante that I got pregnant that summer and gave up our child, then you will be subjecting him to the same agony that I have been living with for 21 years. And you know that Dante will turn this world upside down trying to find our son. Just like you are for Charlotte. And where will that leave Rocco? Rocco knows I love him just as much as I love Charlotte. Rocco knows that his dad is there for him. But if he starts searching around for our child, Rocco will have been abandoned by both his parents. After all of the running and hiding we’ve done, you’re just letting mom find us? You deserve a better life than this. No. I deserve to be with you. I need you to trust me. This is for the best. There’s a kill squad right behind us. Take Charlotte and go. Go now! Chase, finally. And yes, my preliminary calculations indicate a significant portion of this building extends beyond the Quartermaine property line. The thought of it is obscene. What difference does it make if one little corner is over the line? Because it’s protected conservancy property, it’s illegal to build on it. And when you went off to Prague, he was afraid and hurt. He finally had his mom back, and the first chance she got, she up and left him again. That’s low. But not wrong. You’re using my kid to justify your lies. Your son is lucky you gave him up. If you can use someone else’s child against them, then it’s a good thing you’re nobody’s mother.

Teenage boys are notoriously moody. Yeah, but I feel like Rocco has just been struggling ever since Lulu woke up. I thought he seemed happier. He is okay for the most part. But then Lulu took off to Prague to find Charlotte and ever since then, this kid is terrified he’s going to lose her again. Yeah, that makes sense. And I’m not blaming Lulu for doing that. If it was my kid, I’d done the same thing. I’d still be looking for her. I know you would. And Rocco wants his sister back. Look, Lulu and I, we both want our son to be happy. But for some reason, we can’t come together to make that happen. It’s like anytime we talk to each other, we can’t do it like normal people would. Well… But I can talk to Brook Lynn. Which hurts Lulu’s feelings. Right, it doesn’t make her any less mad at Brook Lynn. I mean, this thing has been going on for 15 years. I can’t believe it. Oh, it’s not because of that. It’s because Lulu is still in love with you.

All right, you let me handle this, okay? Under no circumstances fire your weapon. I won’t unless they give me reason to. Could you just maybe not look for one? How about that, yeah? This is Anna Devane. Police commissioner of Port Charles, New York. Don’t shoot! Where is Valentin Cassadine? He just left. You missed him. Get down on the ground! Search the house. Wait. And I think Lulu is trying to accept that. Which is why she’s not putting her feelings on you and she pushes you away when you’re trying to help her. Yeah, that is what she does. Yeah, she’s trying really hard not to love you. Classic Lulu. And if memory serves me correct, uh, when she went into a coma, you wanted her too. Well, yeah, I-I did, but, uh, then she was gone for so long, and then I fell in love with Sam. Look, all I know is she’s doing her best not to push her feelings on you. And that she didn’t want you to know this at all. So why did you tell me? Because, Dante, you asked her to be patient with Brook Lynn, but I think you need to be patient with Lulu. Look, you have to be careful with her, okay? She is really doing the best that she can.

I am a mother. I went through 12 hours of labor and then gave my baby to some stranger from an adoption agency. I couldn’t even let myself hold him. I didn’t even know if it was a boy or a girl until you told me.

I’m sorry about that. I assumed you knew. Probably also assumed it was easy for me, but it wasn’t. I loved my baby. With all my heart. And I still do. And I have to believe that giving him away gave him a better life. [ Sobs ] But don’t you want to know for sure? More than anything. But not at the expense of his happiness. Or peace. Even I’m not that selfish. Look. If he wants to find his birth parents, he will. In the meantime, Lulu, please, I am begging you, leave it alone.

No matter what’s going on between the two of you. So what are you gonna do? I don’t agree with any of this. But I don’t want to be the one who blows up Dante’s life… …or your child’s. You should know I never would have found out about any of this if your mother hadn’t talked to my Uncle Martin. So this secret of yours, it’s not the past. That’s now. Believe me, I know.

Drew: Deputy Mayor Ashford, you really didn’t need to concern yourself with this. Actually, Jordan is here as a favor to me. I saw her negotiating skills firsthand when I was mayor, and she was the police commissioner, and I thought that she could just help us keep the peace. Right. Well, I’m sorry that Ned dragged you into this. There’s really nothing to negotiate here. The Quartermaine crypt is partially on a protected conservation area, and the law’s the law. And I’m sure you got better things to do. Mm. Then why was Martin so willing to drop everything if I allowed you to retain the Quartermaine name? What? Busted. I do believe you referred to that meeting earlier. Lois was a witness. Drew, I understand you feel provoked, but if you move forward with this, you will be using public funds to fight a personal battle. And that’s not who you are. What do you think, Tracy? So, is everything okay with Gio? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Sonny very generously set up a educational trust for Gio so that he could go to grad school after PCU. That’s great. What’s the problem? Tracy told Gio not to take my money. Of course she did. Tracy has always been biased against Sonny. Yeah. You don’t have to tell me. Yeah, but she’s barking at the moon on this one because you and I, we’re always going to be family. And the entire Cerullo clan is always going to be grateful for everything you’ve done for Gio. But I’ve been known to work a miracle or two, you know. Oh, really?

You feeling tired? You’ve been up for 48 hours. I’m good. What about martial arts? Got any training? A little kickboxing. Nice. Got good instincts. Not up to agency standards, but decent starting point. [ Grunts ] [ Laughs ] Not bad. You haven’t slept. You’re in the middle of nowhere. Why are you doing this? What? Kicking your ass.

I’m surprised that Lucy didn’t fill you in on the sordid history of this property and its former owners. Well, she gave me some of the history, but clearly she omitted a few of the important details. Apparently. So, to be clear, this dagger was used to murder your mother? Yes. Well, in light of that, the least I can do is offer you a drink. No, thank you. I’m sober. Hold on. You have the power to throw me out? No. But you have the power to walk away. And why would I do that? So, what you just described, that’s idealism. Take it to the Peace Corps. If I hadn’t seen the notes in Martin’s room with my own eyes, I — I might actually be buying your act. It’s not bad. But it’s clear from the notes that you were trying to track down your son. Or at least find out something about him. That’s why you went to Martin. I never went to Martin. I have never talked to a lawyer about my baby. I’ve never talked to anyone. Give it up, Brook Lynn. I saw Martin’s notes. You had a baby when you were a teenager — Dante’s baby. You can at least admit that much. I can show you pictures of that too, if you’d like.

I had a baby. I gave birth in San Francisco. I didn’t even know if I had a girl or a boy. Couldn’t know. I never even h-held him.

I have never looked for him and I have never talked to a lawyer. Well, your mother has because she showed up at Martin’s hotel room. Forget it, Ned. You never liked Sonny. I should have known better than to talk to you about this. Lois, wait. Look, I know you and Sonny go back to the old neighborhood and that the Cerullos and Sonny have a rock-solid relationship that goes back before Columbus. Yeah, and then some. And that is never gonna change. I know. And, honestly, I don’t love it, but it’s not my business. I wish your mother understood that, too. But what I don’t understand — and I’m guessing my mother didn’t either — is why you would encourage Gio to tie himself to a known criminal, especially knowing where his money comes from. Oh, please! This has nothing to do with Sonny’s businesses. Yet. If you let Sonny create a trust in Gio’s name… and Gio, being a good guy, he is going to feel indebted to him, Lois! It’s that simple. And what if Gio decides to, I don’t know, follow in his benefactor’s footsteps or do Sonny a favor and he ends up being in the line of fire? How does your loyalty to Sonny help Gio then? Well, no, I didn’t agree with Tracy. And if you thought I did, well, it’s a good thing I came over. Well, I gotta — I gotta admit that — that — it’s good to hear. Dad, I can count on one hand how many times I’ve agreed with Tracy on anything. But you should know that if you ask Jason or Stone, they’d both tell you the same thing, that they were happy to have you in their lives. As am I. You think your brother would feel the same way? Yeah, Dad. I mean, Michael, he got — he got hurt in the penthouse. But you’re his dad, and he loves you. And this thing you’re doing for Gio, it should be appreciated, okay, not picked apart by Tracy or anyone else. I appreciate the hell out of you, Dad.

When I suggested we spend time together clandestinely, I thought it would be…sexier. Excuse me? I’m bringing the sexy. Oh, yes, you are. But look at me. I’m in sweatpants and pedicure pads. No. No, no. I have seen grown men stop mid-sentence when you enter a room. But I like seeing the you that other people don’t get to see. But if you want me to even the playing field, I could run home, get on the treadmill, run a quick two miles, get super sweaty. You could. But I can think of better ways to get sweaty.

Well, I came here hoping to see you. But then again, I’m always hoping to see you, Carly. Okay. What, uh — What happened? We were heading in such a nice direction. What changed? Come on, Jack. You remember what happened on our date. I explained about Vivian. Yes. You were clear and above board. So what — what’s the problem? This is the problem. Yes, you were up front with me about Vivian and your lifestyle. I just was fooling myself, believing that our lifestyles were compatible. They’re just not. So you’re telling me you don’t care about anything? You’ve got no ideals at all. I’m saying that sometimes you got to do bad things to prevent worse things from happening. [ Scoffs ] That’s cynical. I’m sorry for asking such a difficult question. My curiosity can sometimes come across as a lack of common courtesy. It’s a tragic story with an all-too-common theme. My father was Mikkos Cassadine, who fell in love with my mother, Kristin. She was an opera singer. And also his mistress. And when his wife, Helena, found out about it, she came to our home and she murdered her right in front of me. Ohh. So, yes, I watched it. I am so sorry. It’s a horrible thing for a child to see. You don’t strike me as someone easily shocked. You don’t strike me as someone that shares something like this openly.

And with a stranger, no less.

Yeah, sometimes it’s easier to talk about something with a stranger. Especially when it’s something that’s barbaric. And now this dagger keeps reappearing like it’s haunting me. And I — I know the weight of it. It’s not a replica. I wouldn’t know.

I threw this in the harbor. [ Exhales sharply ] Maybe you misremembered? Trauma can wreak havoc with memories. Maybe. In any event… looking at it, holding it is… horrific.

So, uh, why do you think this Gio thing is bothering you so much? I just think Tracy’s words hit home with Gio. She made him feel like, you know, now he feels obligated to take the trust because of his loyalty to me. I don’t know. Maybe it has nothing to do with that. Maybe he’s got his own reasons. But I don’t want — I don’t want him to feel forced to take my money. Well, then don’t. Tell him. Talk to him. Tell him he can take it or leave it, but either way, it’s not gonna cost him his relationship with you. Forget — Forget the trust right now. Forget the money. Okay. ‘Cause it’s just, you know… Yeah. Dante cares about you… and I believe that you care about him, so how could you give birth to his child and never tell him his son existed?! What would you like me to do with it? It’s yours. You can take it with you. Though, I totally understand why you might not want to. Oh, it came with the house. It’s your property now. I’ll walk you out. I know the way.

So I guess we’re gonna see where this goes? Absolutely. Good. Because we need to be careful. Sidwell can’t know we have a connection. [ Sighs ] Are you really sure you want to cozy up with Sidwell? Is that what this is about? You want me to change my mind? No. No, no, no. I just don’t understand why you have to be the one to expose Sidwell. The WSB and PCPD already have eyes on them. And you’re not in law enforcement anymore. So why be involved in this? Wouldn’t you rather just have a — What, date you than bust Sidwell? No. Not sneak around. Well, that’s the deal, Isaiah. And if you’re uncomfortable with that, then I’ve got a simple solution. Opt out.

So, to be clear, you don’t want to see me anymore because of my lifestyle. Exactly what type of lifestyle do you think I’m leading right now? One where you defuse bombs, spark revolutions, and sleep with women without commitment or consequences. What if I want commitment and consequences? Don’t. Don’t do that. That’s not fair. Because you don’t want that, not really, and I have to be honest with myself about this.

She stepped up? Yeah. You know, Dad, she’s been great. But that hurts Lulu. Lulu doesn’t get it. You and Brook Lynn have known each other your whole lives. There’s a lot of history there, trust. Just like me a-and her mother. There’s a kinship there. You are being unfair, Ned. Not this time. I’m actually confused, Lois, by your whole take on this thing. I mean, you’ve always been loyal to Sonny, but in the past, your loyalty had some guardrails. I mean, you went out of your way to extricate L&B Records from a business relationship with Sonny. [ Sighs ] I mean, you even encouraged Brenda to wear a wire and record the man! But eventually I saw the financials and confirmed that every single penny he put into that was legit, including the money that he put into Deception. But now Gio’s trust is perfectly fine — because Sonny says so. Why? What changed? Where is your due diligence, Lois?! Why is it different with Gio? You call me a hypocrite? You got pregnant in high school, too! Remember? I certainly do! And you made a choice that was right for you. And you had people supporting you, as they should have. Well, Lulu, I… made a different choice. I gave birth to my child, and I gave him up for adoption so he could have a better life. I wasn’t ready to be a mother. And had I told Dante the truth, that choice would have been taken away from me! So you get off your high horse, okay?! We both made choices! Do you regret yours? I made the choice that was right for me at the time. And I am glad that you feel that way. I’m not judging you for your choice, so don’t you dare judge me for mine! I am not judging you for your choice. I am judging you for your lies! Dante has a son out in the world, and because of your lies, he doesn’t know it. No matter what your circumstances were then, he deserves to know now. And if you won’t tell him, I will.
