Mark visits Clyde in prison. Clyde hopes he’s bringing him good news, warning that if his sister doesn’t seal the deal with Chad soon, their mom is a dead woman.

Chad and “Abigail” arrive at their vacation home in Paris, France. Chad talks about how they had a lot of amazing memories here. “Abigail” thinks the place will change everything.

Julie informs Maggie that Chad and “Abigail” went to Paris, hoping that it will help “Abigail” find herself again. Julie invites Maggie to stay for tea as they have some catching up to do.

EJ tells Sarah that he won’t allow her to recant her statement and he has a busy day. Xander argues that Sarah can no longer identify Brady as the driver who hit her. EJ argues that she seemed pretty positive when she told the police and they were finally able to arrest somebody. Sarah declares that she made a mistake, so he needs to release Brady immediately.

Eric sits at a corner table of the bar and watches Fiona. Eric thinks back to seeing Fiona and Sarah talk about keeping a secret in the park. Eric then approaches Fiona and introduces himself, mentioning that he recently learned that she and Brady were romantically involved, so he hopes she doesn’t mind him asking a few questions. Fiona is afraid she doesn’t have much to say as their affair was short and sweet. Fiona says she would look back fondly except for the fact that Brady got drunk and ran over her daughter in law. Eric hoped she could give him more detail on the night of the accident. Fiona questions why she would know anything about that. Eric brings up that she was with Brady that night.

EJ questions what’s going on here as he thought Xander and Sarah wanted Brady to pay for putting Sarah in a wheelchair. Xander insists that they do, so EJ questions why they are suddenly changing their story. Xander thinks back to telling Sarah about Kristen’s ultimatum.

Mark promises Clyde that everything is falling in to place. Clyde argues that Chad has DNA evidence that Mark’s sister is Abigail so he questions what the problem is. Mark explains that it’s not Chad but everyone else in Salem including friends, family, and doctors as his sister has been cross examined for every slip up. Clyde brings up what he will do to their mom. Mark assures that “Abigail” is ready to seal the deal and has come up with the perfect way for Clyde to get what he wants.

Chad talks about “Abigail” being passionate about art and says he’s just happy to be here with her. Chad decides to get some wine for them to celebrate their return to Paris. “Abigail” asks Chad to tell her some stories about their time in Paris. Chad talks about how they would take the kids to a different park every Sunday and how they re-enacted a TLC music video. Chad calls it a wonderful moment with the kids. “Abigail” calls him a really good husband and father. Chad credits having her by his side. She says it seems they were very happy here. Chad admits it wasn’t all sunshine, rainbows, and waterfalls.

Clyde questions Mark about “Abigail” dragging Chad off to Paris. Mark explains that in Salem, she would be forced to include the kids and doesn’t want to traumatize the children. Clyde complains that she seems too in to her character. Mark argues that she’s a good person and wouldn’t be involved in something like this if Clyde wasn’t threatening to kill their mother.

Julie tells Maggie that meeting “Abigail” was unique since she looks nothing like the Abigail they knew, had the eyes of a stranger, and was very cold to her. Maggie suggests she just felt awkward, not remembering anything or anyone. Julie talks about Chad hoping she will remember more in Paris. Julie asks Maggie how Sarah is doing. Maggie says she’s putting on a brave face, but she’s struggling to adapt. Maggie says she’s trying her best to help her. Julie brings up Maggie being on crutches for years and walking again as well as being paralyzed recently but being healed. Maggie says she was lucky to have surgery but she doesn’t think Sarah will get that miracle.

Sarah assures EJ that she absolutely wants Brady to pay for what he did to her, but she can’t lie and say something is true when it’s not. EJ argues that’s exactly what’s happening here as Sarah either lied about seeing Brady behind the wheel or she’s lying now, so he questions which one it is.

Fiona tells Eric that she was there before the accident with Brady and questions if Eric is conducting an investigation. Eric says Brady is in a world of trouble so he’s been clinging to hope that there’s more to the story about what happened that night. Eric says he’s here to find out more information about that night, so he hoped she could fill in the blanks for him. Fiona doesn’t know what she can tell him that he doesn’t already know. Eric suggests starting from the beginning. Fiona says she spent most of the day with Xander and Sarah as they had just gotten married and then she got a text from Brady to meet him at the bar. Fiona claims she planned on ending things with him that night since she was in a better place with Xander and his family. Fiona says she didn’t know who Brady was at first but had found out about his contentious relationship with Xander. Fiona mentions coming to the bar and calming down Brady’s argument with the waiter with a generous tip. Fiona says they talked and then Brady left, got in his car and hit Sarah as she identified him to the police. Eric still has questions since Fiona implied earlier that Brady left alone, but the waiter told him that they left together.

Xander questions EJ accusing Sarah of lying when she’s the most honest person he knows. EJ says except when it comes to the paternity of her children which upsets Xander. Sarah admits she’s been dishonest in the past which is why she can’t let her initial statement about Brady stand as she can’t let Brady go down for something she’s no longer sure he did. EJ says that’s too bad because Sarah already gave a sworn statement, Brady’s been arrested, and a conviction has been guaranteed to the Mayor. EJ declares he will not have egg on his face because Sarah isn’t sure that her very definite memory is a false one. Xander questions EJ gladly convicting an innocent man to protect his fragile ego. EJ argues that they all know Brady is guilty. EJ promises that if Sarah retracts her statement, he will have her arrested for perjury.

Maggie tells Julie that it’s so hard to see Sarah suffer like she did as she can see the pain in her eyes. Maggie hopes that some day, Sarah can see her life can still be as rewarding as before. Maggie talks about Sarah having Victoria and Xander, but admits Xander has been obsessed with revenge on Brady. Maggie thinks Xander has let that go and is focused on Sarah’s recovery, especially now that Brady is facing justice. Julie talks about Sarah suddenly remembering Brady being the driver. Maggie questions if Julie is saying that Sarah lied.

Chad talks with “Abigail” about the problems they had while in Paris including Austin showing up. Chad admits they had rough times and obstacles, but they always got through them together which is why he knows they’ll get through this too. “Abigail” then claims that she’s starting to remember.

Clyde tells Mark that he knows who he gets in bed with and his sister is no saint. Mark argues that she’s never done anything like this before and neither has he. Clyde argues that they’ll do anything for their mother and he will deliver her to them as long as his sister comes through. Mark assures that it won’t be long before she’s Mrs. Chad DiMera. Clyde informs Mark that it doesn’t work for him, as he wants her to be the widow DiMera. Mark questions what Clyde is talking about as he thought he just wanted Chad’s fortune and his sister would just drain his accounts. Clyde decides it’s easier if Chad dies. Mark worries that would just raise questions. Clyde says it can’t be traced back to him and argues that his lawyer should be able to get him out of prison in time to collect his fortune. Mark asks how that’s possible when Clyde’s a convicted murderer. Clyde points out that with “Abigail’s” resurrection, there’s no murder to convict. Mark asks about his drug ring and other charges. Clyde assures it can be thrown out and that he will soon be a free man.

Chad questions if “Abigail” remembers their life together. She says she doesn’t remember specific events and it’s not memories but she remembers feelings of being in Paris before. She declares that she finally feels like Abigail DiMera. Chad excitedly hugs her. She then tells Chad that she remembers how much she loves him and then kisses him.

Julie tells Maggie that if she was hit by a car and paralyzed as the driver drove away, she would be highly motivated to make the driver pay for what he did. Maggie doesn’t think Sarah would be dishonest to get there and points out that Xander wanted her to lie but she refused. Julie is sure that justice will be served but argues that if Brady is addicted to alcohol, it’s just an illness. Maggie knows Brady is a good person that just made a terrible decision and he’s being punished for it. Julie points out that Brady wants to pay the price. Maggie hopes that Sarah and Xander can move forward with their lives and heal.

Xander asks if EJ is insane for wanting to charge Sarah with perjury. EJ points out that Sarah made a sworn statement to the police. Sarah blames the pain medication but EJ argues that she could try to recant her retraction in a week. Sarah insists that she made a mistake and pleads with EJ to release Brady. EJ declares that mistake will cost her ten years behind bars. Xander questions what he’s talking about. EJ explains that there’s a plea deal on the table and Brady has agreed to ten years in prison, so he’s going to make sure that somebody gets that deal and if it’s not Brady, it’s going to be Sarah. Xander argues that he won’t let EJ bully them in to silence. EJ warns that he has Sarah’s original statement and fully intends to use it to put Brady in prison, but if they want to stop him, he’ll just put Sarah in his place. EJ then walks out of the mansion.

Fiona tells Eric that Brady did leave on his own, but she went after him as she was afraid he might be too drunk to drive, so she offered to call him a cab but he insisted he was fine, so she let him go. Fiona says if she knew what was going to happen, she would’ve done everything possible to stop him from driving and she deeply regrets that she didn’t. Eric asks how she got home that night. Fiona claims that she took a cab to her hotel and then Xander called her about Sarah. Fiona says she’d rather not keep reliving this. Eric asks if Fiona was drinking that night. Fiona claims she doesn’t drink ever as she’s a recovering alcoholic. Eric points out that Brady is too. Fiona insists that she hasn’t had a drink in years. Eric questions her not partaking in drinking with Brady. Fiona claims that they talked while he drank. Fiona complains that this is starting to feel like a third degree. Eric says he’s just curious and looking out for his brother. Fiona hopes she’s been of some help to him. Eric says she’s been very helpful and thanks her for her time as he then exits.

Xander calls EJ an arrogant bastard and says he’s going to ruin everything. Sarah tells him to focus as she asks what they are going to do, since Kristen won’t hand over the serum if Brady is still being charged. Xander says they tried and Kristen understands how stubborn EJ is, so maybe she’ll still give them the serum. Xander decides he has to talk to Kristen. Sarah offers to go with him but Xander says he has to handle this and exits the mansion.

Julie tells Maggie that Sarah got her memory back, so hopefully “Abigail” will too, especially now that they are in Paris together. Julie adds that “Abigail” did swear to tell the children their mother is alive when they return. Maggie states that would be an easier conversation if she did have her memory back, so it sounds like there’s a lot riding on this Paris trip.

Chad tells “Abigail” that he’s so happy that she remembers who they are and how much they love eeach other as they continue kissing. She removes his jacket and starts to unbutton his shirt, but stops and says she can’t do this.

Mark doesn’t understand why Clyde would risk his chance at freedom by murdering Chad. Clyde insists it won’t be tracked back to him. Mark asks if he’s going to send a hitman. Clyde then reveals he wants Mark to be that hitman.

Xander goes to the DiMera Mansion in a rush, calling out to Kristen, saying they need to talk.

Eric goes to the Kiriakis Mansion and tells Sarah that he needed to talk to her. Sarah assumes it’s about Brady and says she should’ve come to him after coming forward. Eric wants her to be honest as he asks if Brady is innocent and she’s covering for Fiona.

Fiona hopes Eric bought her story since she doesn’t want to think about if he didn’t, as she has a drink.

Maggie tells Julie that it was good catching up and she should get back to Sarah. They talk about praying for Sarah as well as Chad and “Abigail”. Julie remarks that all the misery in town can be traced back to Clyde Weston. Maggie can’t believe Clyde had “Abigail” all this time while they thought she was dead. Julie declares that Clyde is in super max prison now and can never hurt anyone in their family again…

Mark questions Clyde wanting him to kill Chad. Mark says he won’t and can’t do it. Clyde warns Mark that he has blood on his hands no matter what happens as either Chad dies or his mom does.

“Abigail” tells Chad that she has to be honest with him. Chad asks about what. She thinks back to talking to Mark about lying to Chad and not having a choice. “Abigail” then tells Chad that she doesn’t think it’s a good idea to be intimate just yet. Chad says that’s fine and they can wait as long as she wants. She clarifies that she doesn’t want to wait that long as she thinks there’s something they should do first. “Abigail” then asks Chad what if they got married?

Gabi remains in her hospital bed, reading a magazine. As she comes across wedding photos, she throws the magazine across the room right as Melinda arrives to check on her. Melinda says she was sure Gabi was gone after the bomb but Gabi says she’s doing okay and due to be released later today. Melinda then admits that she’s not just there to check on her as she has a bit of an ulterior motive.

EJ joins Stefan in the living room of the DiMera Mansion and pours a drink as he mocks him. Stefan questions EJ being so jolly. EJ responds that he’s ecstatic that Brady is getting what he deserves.

Eric sits with Brady in the interrogation rom at the police station. Eric tells Brady about Holly going to see Nicole in Paris, hoping it will remind Holly of how close they’ve always been. Eric mentions that EJ has been trying to poison Holly against Nicole. Brady tells him that EJ was just there to talk about the plea he’s entering in tomorrow. Brady tells Eric that he’s guilty of the crime so that is how he’s going to plea.

In the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion, Victoria cries while Sarah struggles in her wheelchair which Fiona looks in to the room and sees.

Xander finishes a call in the Titan office as Kristen walks in and asks when he’s going to get Brady out of jail. Xander says never.

Gabi asks Melinda what her ulterior motive is. Melinda reveals that she has Gabi Chic paper work for her to sign. Melinda adds that Stefan also asked her to drop off her divorce papers. Melinda mentions that she’s loyal to her job at DiMera which Gabi is a big part of, so if she wants her to turn Stefan down, she can just say the word.

Stefan comments that EJ gets jolly off putting people behind bars and sleeping with his brother’s wife. EJ repeats that Gabi came on to him while Stefan complains that he could’ve turned her down. EJ brings up that Gabi and Stefan are well on their way to a divorce, pointing out that Gabi told him when he saw her last night.

Sarah’s phone rings which she struggles to reach in her wheelchair. Fiona comes in and asks if she’s alright. Sarah complains about being unable to reach Victoria’s toy as she’s crying, so Fiona gets it for her.

Brady tells Eric that EJ offered him a deal of a reduced sentence in exchange for a guilty plea. Brady informs Eric that the sentence is for 10 years. Brady thinks John was hoping Justin could pull off a miracle, but he doesn’t want a slap on the wrist, feeling he needs to pay for what he did.

Kristen questions Xander not getting Brady out of jail, reminding him that the only way Sarah will get out of the wheelchair is if he frees Brady as then she will hand over Dr. Rolf’s miracle serum. Xander calls it an intriguing proposal, but questions why he should believe a word she says.

Stefan questions EJ visiting Gabi in her hospital room last night. EJ says he went to inform her that Rafe warned him to stay away from her, given that they have to co-exist in the same happy household until their divorce goes through. Stefan believes that Gabi wants nothing to do with EJ now that she can’t use him anymore for revenge sex, but suggests he heeds Rafe’s advice and stay the hell away from her. EJ brings up that Gabi mentioned it was Stefan who filed for divorce. EJ questions why he has to stay away from Gabi if the marriage is over and why Stefan cares.

Gabi informs Melinda that Stefan told her that he was going to file for divorce and they both agreed the marriage is over, so it’s time to move forward. Gabi tells Melinda that it’s fine with her if she represents Stefan.

Brady tells Eric that he feels so wrong here with Daniel’s heart beating in his chest, pointing out that he wouldn’t be here if Daniel hadn’t died and it’s like he squandered that gift. Eric disagrees and encourages that Brady still has a future and just has to atone for the things he did. Brady doesn’t feel his guilt will go away anytime soon. Eric says not completely, but he will learn how to live with it.

Sarah doesn’t know what she would’ve done if Fiona hadn’t come in since everyone is out and she told Maggie that she’d be fine on her own with Victoria, but she’s clearly not. Fiona encourages her while Sarah cries that she feels like she’s failing. Fiona talks about the ordeal Sarah has gone through and says she’s so sorry. Sarah questions what she is sorry for. Fiona calls it a tragic mistake that she was with Brady. Sarah says she couldn’t have known that would happen and assures that she and Xander are grateful to her for all the help during this difficult time. Sarah thanks her for keeping quiet about her lying to the police. Fiona understands that her lie saved Brady and Xander. Sarah assures that she would’ve never identified Brady to the police if she had any doubt that he was driving that night, but she wishes she could remember seeing him behind the wheel. Fiona says that what happened saddens her terribly. Sarah notes that Victoria has finally fallen back asleep. Sarah thinks she needs some time alone with her daughter to prove she can do this, so Fiona says she will see her later and exits the room.

Xander asks if Kristen is insane, complaining about Sarah being used as Dr. Rolf’s guinea pig. Kristen thinks she shoul make her own decision but Xander doesn’t want to get her hopes up about a mythical potion that they don’t know if it will work or if it even exists. Kristen assures that Dr. Rolf has been working around the clock and it’s almost ready. Xander questions why he should trust her. Kristen talks about Dr. Rolf being a genius, bringing up the miracles he performed on Marlena, Kayla, and Bo, and how he kept Stefan alive for years without a heart. Xander then asks Kristen to take him to Dr. Rolf’s lab to show him the proof. Kristen worries that Xander will try to have his thugs steal the drug without giving her what she deserves so she declines. Kristen offers to show him clinical data so that Sarah can look it over, but says Xander has to make the charges against Brady disappear. Xander asks how to do that. Kristen argues that Brady was free until Sarah’s bogus claims, so she will have to recant or else she’ll never walk again and it will be Xander’s fault.

Stefan tells EJ that he and Gabi might be through, but he still cares about her and he won’t have her yoked to an ass like him. EJ remarks that it’s not his jurisdiction anymore. EJ adds that they all have to live together somehow, until Gabi takes the home from him and some of his other assets which Stefan says won’t happen. EJ points out that divorces can get nasty. Stefan states that he and Gabi talked and they agreed that it’s been enough. Stefan adds that he wouldn’t be surprised if Gabi never shows up in this house again, but is then surprised when Gabi comes home.

Eric sits with Roman at the Brady Pub and tells him about Brady getting 10 years in prison but Eric is convinced there is more to it.

Xander goes home and questions Sarah crying. Sarah explains that Victoria threw her toy and she couldn’t reach it, but thankfully Fiona came in. Xander says he’s so sorry. Sarah cries that she hates it and felt so helpless, like she couldn’t be a mother to her own daughter. Sarah says she shouldn’t have let herself get so upset over a toy, arguing that plenty of parents raise children with disabilities. Sarah calls it a fact of life for her now that she is disabled and there is nothing she can do about it. Xander responds that it’s not necessarily true.

Fiona goes to see Brady in the interrogation room. Brady thought last time he saw her was goodbye so he didn’t expect to see her. Fiona responds that things are different now as last time, she thought he was going to be a free man but it looks like he’s going for a lengthy stay in prison. Brady questions how that changes anything. Fiona declares that she has a confession to make.

EJ laughs at Stefan saying Gabi would never enter the house again and points out that he was once again colossally wrong. Gabi says she was discharged and took a taxi. EJ says she should’ve called and he would’ve picked her up. Gabi knows he has a busy schedule. EJ admits he’s late for a meeting, so he exits the room. Stefan asks Gabi how she is. Gabi says she’s hanging in, but admits she was a little thrown by her last visitor being Melinda, who told her that he hired her. Stefan states that he needed a lawyer. Gabi calls it unusual to hire corporate counsel as a family attorney. Stefan explains that he wanted someone in his corner that he could trust which Gabi questions. Gabi guesses it helps that Melinda had a crush on him, so she’ll make sure that she doesn’t take him for everything he’s worth. Stefan asks if that’s still what she plans on doing.

Sarah questions Xander telling her about a serum from Dr. Rolf. Xander knows it sounds risky but explains that Kristen gave him the data on this drug which Sarah laughs off. Xander insists that it seems like the real deal and she can go over the data herself. Sarah questions why Kristen is willing to help them this way. Xander admits there is one catch as Kristen won’t give them the serum unless she disavows her positive identification of Brady. Xander says he’s sorry as he knows he’s the reason she lied to the police in the first place, but points out that it would be worth it to be able to walk and run again and play with Victoria. Sarah decides she needs to think about it, but Xander points out it’s a limited time offer since Brady’s plea hearing is tomorrow. Xander says he can call EJ over to take her statement if she says the word.

Roman knows Eric wants to believe by some miracle that Brady isn’t responsible for Sarah’s accident. Eric insists that something just isn’t adding up, like Sarah suddenly remembering seeing Brady at the wheel even though hypnosis couldn’t break through her mental block. Eric says that Marlena felt that would be exceedingly rare without a triggering moment. Eric adds that when Jada came to arrest Brady, Xander was there so he must have broken in. Eric states that Brady was adamant that he had not been drinking, so he’s thinking he must have been drugged. Eric insists that the whole story seems off somehow which Roman agree with. Eric then brings up seeing Sarah talking to Fiona in the park and he overheard them talking about a secret. Eric mentions Fiona being in a relationship with Brady which Roman had no idea of. Eric says it was brief and been over for a while now, but wonders if it’s possible that Fiona is somehow connected to the accident. Eric thinks Fiona was with Brady that night and that’s the secret they were keeping. Roman suggests asking Brady but Eric says he doesn’t remember a lot about that night, so he has another idea.

Brady questions Fiona’s confession. Fiona says when she first came to Salem, she told Xander that she was sober as that was the only way he’d accept her back in his life and it’s the only reason that she got to know Victoria and Sarah which brought her so much joy. Fiona adds that watching Sarah suffer has made her realize she can’t keep doing this, but Kristen walks in and questions who the hell she is and what she’s doing here.

Gabi tells Stefan that she’s well within her rights to take as much as the DiMera fortune as she can get, but more than anything she just wants this to be over with as like Stefan said, there’s nothing left to fight for. Stefan asks what Gabi is doing here then. Gabi responds that she didn’t come to see him and if she knew he was there, she would’ve waited. Gabi reveals she came to collect her things. Stefan questions if she’s moving out. Gabi confirms she is for good. Gabi says to give her a few minutes and then she’ll be out of his hair as she then exits the room.

EJ goes to the Kiriakis Mansion and tells Xander that this better be good as he was supposed to be in a meeting ten minutes ago. Xander says it’s important and about Brady’s case. EJ says he wanted to talk to him about that too since he and Brady worked out a plea deal for 10 years. EJ says he knows they wanted more but this at least guarantees Brady will be locked up in prison where he belongs. Xander responds that he wouldn’t be too sure about that.

Brady introduces Kristen to Xander’s mother, Fiona Cook. Kristen recalls seeing Fiona’s picture in the paper and questions what she is doing here. Fiona claims that she was just telling Brady how trying it’s been to watch Sarah suffer because of him and she’s glad he’s going to pay. Fiona says goodbye to Brady and storms out. Kristen questions the nerve of Fiona to come in and say those horrible things to him. Brady tells Kristen that she shouldn’t be here either. Kristen informs Brady that he will be getting out soon.

Eric goes to the bar and shows the waiter a picture of Brady, asking if he remembers him. The waiter admits it’s hard to forget that face since he was getting hammered one night and looking for a fight. He adds that it was the night that Brady went out and ran over that poor doctor. Eric questions why he didn’t stop him from leaving if he was so intoxicated. The waiter reveals that the lady said she had it under control, so Eric questions which lady.

Gabi returns with her things. Stefan argues that it can’t be everything. Gabi says she asked Harold to send the rest. Stefan asks if she’s going to stay with Rafe. Gabi says if his lawyer needs to get in touch, she’ll see her at work. Stefan says that isn’t why he was asking and he was just wondering. Stefan thought they said their last goodbye yesterday. Gabi admits she did too as she holds back tears. Gabi tells Stefan not to worry as this will be the last time as she then exits.

Brady tells Kristen not to do whatever she’s thinking about doing. Brady knows she wants to help but he’s pleading guilty tomorrow and going to prison. Kristen tells him it won’t get that far. Kristen remarks that Sarah will be on her knees thanking her when this is all done. Brady questions why she would do that. Kristen says he’ll see and exits the room.

EJ questions Xander saying Brady might not be going to prison. Xander assures they still want to see him punished for his crimes, but Sarah is no longer confident in the statement she gave to the police. EJ questions Sarah, who confirms that she’s not sure it was Brady driving that night. EJ argues that she seemed pretty sure when she told Jada it was definitely Brady. Sarah says now that she’s had time to think about it, the image isn’t very clear and says maybe she dreamed it because she wanted to believe it. Xander talks about Sarah taking pain medications and muscle relaxers which could affect her thinking. EJ questions what exactly they are both saying. Sarah declares that she would like to recant her statement which EJ refuses.

Eric shows the waiter a picture of Fiona and asks if that’s the woman who was with Brady that night. He confirms that she was and that they left together. Fiona then arrives at the bar.

Leo goes over the Body and Soul script as he walks through the town square and runs in to Hattie, who questions if he’s going somewhere. Leo responds that he’s going to work. Hattie remarks that’s because he has a job, unlike her. Hattie declares that thanks to Leo, she’s out on her ass.

Abe and Kate go to the Body and Soul studio where they find a fruit basket. Bonnie arrives and reveals it’s from her as a thank you for saving her life as she hugs them.

At the hospital, Seth Burns talks to Kayla about having doubts about filming Body and Soul at the hospital but admits it’s been a fun experience so far. Kayla says she thought it would be good for the hospital. Seth reveals that he thinks he’s been bitten by the acting bug.

Johnny has a nightmare about Alex coming to make love to Chanel as he yells at them to stop. Johnny then wakes up in a panic, causing Chanel to ask him what’s wrong.

Stephanie sits at home, on the phone with Jada and says she’s so happy that Rafe is home. Jada asks about her and Alex, but Stephanie says there’s nothing to report as she didn’t even see him on set yesterday. Stephanie repeats that her and Alex are just friends and she’s totally fine with that, as Alex then shows up at her door without a shirt on. Stephanie tells Jada they’ll talk soon as she hangs up. Alex says he’s sorry as he didn’t mean to interrupt but Stephanie says it’s okay and invites him in. She tells him that Jada was just updating her on Rafe being home from the hospital which Alex says is great news. Stephanie asks what brought him by. Alex says he brought her a pumpkin spice latte as he knows how much they both like their morning caffeine. Alex talks about how he hit the gym this morning to work out some of his nerves as he’s shooting the big love scene with Chanel today.

Chanel brings Johnny a glass of water and questions him yelling “stop it” in his sleep, assuming he had a bad dream which he confirms. Chanel asks if he wants to tell her about it. Johnny says not really but Chanel insists, so he admits it was about her and Alex. Chanel tells him she’s so sorry but guesses it makes sense since Johnny is going to be directing their love scene today. Johnny knows she’s been upset with his jealousy issues but he also knows that he can’t let his irrational feelings get in the way of him doing his job. Johnny admits seeing them together like at the photoshoot brings back images of them actually together for real. Chanel asks him to try to believe her as she tells him one last time that she has no feelings for Alex and the time they were together with Allie was in the past and she never thinks about that anymore, insisting they are just co-workers and friends now. Johnny questions them being friends.

Hattie thought she and Leo were friends. Leo argues that they still are and he knows she’s upset. Hattie complains about Leo writing her out of the show that she was starring in, arguing that it was going to get her a daytime Emmy. Leo argues that he didn’t write her out since the producers make those decisions. Leo says he would’ve loved to have seen her character Charlemagne remain on the show. Hattie complains about having no notice at all. Leo insists that it wasn’t his call and he wanted to tell her, so Hattie questions why he didn’t. Leo informs her that Abe and Kate were worried that she would leave without filming her scenes if she knew she was going to get fired and then they’d all be out of work. Hattie responds that she kind of likes the sound of that.

Bonnie praises Abe and Kate for saving her character Cassandra’s life and how she feels like she’s a part of her now. Bonnie asks if all of Charlemagne’s stuff will be up for grabs now like her clothes and her mansion or her grief stricken husband. Bonnie wonders if she should pitch it to Leo. Kate stops her and says none of that will be happening. Kate reminds her that Body and Soul is an ensemble production, so when Hattie didn’t respect that, they had no choice but to send her to soap opera Heaven. Kate remarks that she’s sure Charlemagne would love to have Cassandra join here there. Bonnie gets that Body and Soul isn’t a one star vehicle and apologizes for going overboard. Abe tells her it’s okay and reminds her that Body and Soul has no stars as they all work together in harmony and humility. Bonnie assures she would never want to be like Hattie. Bonnie asks if she could get a raise with Hattie being gone, then quickly says maybe not. Bonnie decides she will leave them to their work and hurries out.

Seth informs Kayla that he was written in to another scene for today as the producers were apparently impressed by his previous performance. Kayla calls him a man of many talents. Seth says he won’t give up his day job yet, but asks Kayla to let the Body and Soul producers know that he wouldn’t be averse to a romantic interest or a love scene.

Stephanie thought Alex was talking to Kate about putting the love scene off. Alex says they did but apparently too many actors asked for script changes that Kate didn’t want Leo for more rewrites, so the scene couldn’t be postponed. Alex says he’s disappointed in it happening too soon and rushing the whole story. Stephanie asks how Alex feels about acting with Chanel since they don’t seem to get along. Alex says it’s not much of an issue anymore as they called a truce and agreed to try to start fresh. Stephanie calls that very mature of them. Alex says now that the huge love scene is happening today, he’s praying they can get through it without any problems. Stephanie is sure it will be fine since Alex and Chanel worked things out, but questions how Johnny feels about it.

Johnny thought Chanel and Alex couldn’t stand each other and questions them suddenly now being friends. Chanel asks what’s so shocking about that since they obviously have to work together, so they decided it would be a little less awkward if they just got along. Johnny agrees that the less backstage drama, the better. Chanel feels there will be enough drama on screen. Johnny decides they should get going so they aren’t late for rehearsals. Chanel mentions her and Alex running the hospital scenes. Johnny didn’t realize Chanel had hospital scenes which she explains. Johnny then mentions needing to get to the set anyways since they are filming Charlemagne’s death scenes which he feels will be a little tricky.

Hattie calls Leo an accomplice after the fact of getting her character killed off. Leo questions how that is. Hattie feels tricked and duped because she thought Bonnie was being killed off. Leo explains that he thought it would be more of a shock to the audience which means bigger ratings. Hattie calls that clever of him but also hurtful, arguing that he killed her off before she even had a week under contract. Hattie thought she would get a daytime Emmy nomination or a fan club started. Hattie starts to cry. Leo tells her that he’s really sorry and he hates that things turned out this way. Leo tries to encourage her but brings up that Roman said it’s show business not friendship, so he really hopes they can still hang out but Hattie says no. Hattie tells Leo that if he sees her coming down the street, she wants him to go the other way or else she will end him. Hattie then storms off.

Alex tells Stephanie that he’s hoping Johnny will be cool with directing his love scene with Chanel. Alex mentions that he suggested getting another director but Johnny wants to prove he’s professional. Stephanie hopes it all works out. Alex says he should go get cleaned up and jokes about not making Chanel work so hard to pretend to be attracted to him. Stephanie offers Alex a ride to the set to thank him for the latte. Alex accepts and says he’ll be back in a bit as he needs to shower. After he leaves, Stephanie remarks to herself that she could use a cold shower.

Leo goes to the studio and tells Kate that he’s feeling like a bad friend and rotten person in general. Kate asks what he’s upset about. Leo informs her that he ran in to Hattie, who blames him for killing her off. Leo says Hattie is holding a grudge and be spiteful and vindictive, mentioning that Hattie warned him to watch out. Kate is sure at some point, she will calm down. Leo says maybe when they are all killed off in real life. Kate encourages that it will be sooner than that. Kate then informs him that they are about to film her death scene and asks if he wants to watch it on the monitor which Leo declines.

Johnny prepares to begin directing at the hospital and sees Abe, noting that he wasn’t expecting to see him on set. Abe explains that he thought it would be good to have one of the producers on set for Hattie’s death scene just in case which Johnny says is a good call. Johnny begins directing Seth and Bonnie, then calls out for Charlemagne but Hattie is not there. Abe wonders where she is.

Chanel sits in the park holding her back in pain. Kayla finds her and asks if she’s alright. Chanel responds that she thinks she threw her back out. Kayla offers to check her out and asks what happened. Chanel explains that she was going to the hospital with Johnny but she had time before rehearsing with Alex, so she went to the Bakery and on her way back through the park, she stopped to tie her shoe and had a nasty pain in her back. Kayla thinks she might have pulled a muscle. Chanel says she has to get to set for her big scene with Alex but Kayla encourages her to rest a little bit as she still has time before the scene.

Stephanie and Alex arrive at the hospital. Alex thanks her for the ride and says he’ll get extra rehearsal time with Chanel. Stephanie says she will go check the shooting but Alex gets a text from Chanel that she’s running late. Alex says he hoped to get in some practice, so he asks Stephanie to run some lines with him which she agrees to do. Seth comes in and asks if they have seen Hattie but they have not.

Abe asks Johnny if Hattie could’ve just left. Bonnie calls it unprofessional. Seth returns and says Hattie is not in her dressing room and no one has seen her. Abe says he was afraid of that and asks how they are going to shoot Hattie’s death without Hattie. Hattie then arrives, complaining that the hospital is like a maze. Johnny then says they will get started. Bonnie tells Hattie to stop looking at her like that as it’s not like she asked them to kill her off, even though Hattie was thrilled when Cassandra was getting killed off. Hattie just wants to get the show going.

Kate tells Leo that the scenes being shot today were really well written. Leo says as bad as Hattie feels about being killed off and as rotten as he feels, she’s going out with a bang. Leo talks about knowing he had to come up with a fitting ending, but they were pressed for time, so he remembered how they killed off a very memorable character on LA Law.

Johnny directs Bonnie and Hattie at the hospital as Cassandra and Charlemagne where they talk about wishing each other dead but wanting to start clean, so they agree to a truce and shake hands. Johnny then directs Hattie to push the button to the elevator.

Leo explains to Kate how Rosalind Shays was killed off on LA Law by falling down an elevator shaft.

Johnny directs Hattie to wave, turn, and step on to the elevator but she hesitates.

Kayla asks Chanel if she’s feeling better. Chanel says not really but she doesn’t want to hold up production so she needs to get to the hospital. Kayla agrees but decides she’s taking her to the emergency room, not the set. Chanel worries about her scenes with Alex but Kayla says that can wait as they walk off together.

Alex rehearses lines with Stephanie where Alex’s character talks about not squandering a second of time when you find the person you love. Alex then kisses Stephanie, who comments that this is going to be some love scene as they kiss onto the hospital bed.

Johnny directs Hattie to get on to the elevator but she says she can’t because there’s no elevator to get on to. Johnny says that’s the point as she’s supposed to fall down the shaft. Hattie argues that it’s easy for him to say since he’s not the one doing it. Abe encourages that it’s only three feet deep and she will fall on an air mattress. Hattie says that’s not it and declares that she doesn’t want to die.

Kate tells Leo that she thought she remembered the elevator shaft. Leo says there was a 90s sitcom that paid homage to that where the actor didn’t want to get on the elevator because he knew he was getting killed off, just like Hattie.

Johnny encourages Hattie that she can do this as she’s a professional actor. Hattie agrees, so Johnny calls to restart the scene. Hattie as Charlemagne tries inviting Bonnie as Cassandra to come with her but she points out that she’s on an IV. Hattie tries telling Seth to get on the elevator but he says he has to monitor Cassandra, so the elevator is just for her. Johnny directs Hattie again to get on the elevator now but Hattie turns to him and refuses to do it. Hattie declares that they can kill off her character if that’s what they want as she can’t stop them, but she will not help them do it. Hattie then walks off set.

Leo runs in to Bonnie in the town square. Leo asks how it went on set. Bonnie informs him that Hattie refused to do the stunt. Leo questions how they ended the scene then. Bonnie says they didn’t and had to end early because Hattie stormed off set.

Abe returns to Kate in the studio and tells her about Hattie storming off set. Kate asks what they are going to do. Hattie arrives and calls them her favorite backstabbers. Kate warns her that she won’t get paid for breaking contract. Hattie tells her to keep the money and calls them traitors, adding that she thinks she’s going to leave town. Hattie declares that they are going to regret the day they crossed her and she’s going to make sure they pay for it. Hattie vows to make sure they are cursed along with everyone involved with the show. Hattie remarks that she’ll make sure Body and Soul’s fictional town of Pineview goes up in flames as she storms out.

Kayla checks Chanel out at the hospital as Chanel says it’s like they’re cursed. Chanel asks Kayla to help her over to the set but Kayla says no one would expect her to do her scenes in this condition, so she will let Abe and Kate know that she’s calling in sick and will be much better tomorrow. Chanel worries about her scene with Alex but Kayla repeats it will have to wait and says she’s sorry but there will be no love scene today.

Johnny goes to the hospital room set but Seth stops him outside and advises him not to go in as he tells him that Faith and Arrow are inside and at first, he thought they were just rehearsing but then he realized they were in a steamy love scene for real. Seth walks away, leaving Johnny in disbelief.

Alex and Stephanie have sex on the hospital bed as Johnny walks in, assuming that it’s Alex and Chanel.

EJ goes to see Paulina and informs her that Stefan is not going to be a problem anymore.

Gabi questions Stefan bringing her flowers but he clarifies that they were at the desk so a nurse asked him to bring them in. Stefan opens the card and sees they are from her assistants at Gabi Chic, wishing her a speedy recovery and mentioning they thought Connie was a psycho. Gabi remarks that everyone could see Connie was insane except her. Gabi then asks Stefan what he’s doing there. Stefan informs her that he just spoke to his lawyer and announces he’s filing for divorce which Gabi questions. Stefan asks why she sounds surprised when she told him that she was going to take him for everything he’s worth and divided the house. Stefan says he’s surprised that she didn’t file first. Gabi calls it ironic since he once said he would fight tooth and nail for their marriage but now he’s eager to end it. Gabi questions his sudden rush to divorce her.

Julie walks Thomas and Charlotte through the town square. Thomas talks about wanting to get home to play an online video game but Julie informs him that he’s going to have to postpone because Chad has a very special surprise for them when they get home.

“Abigail” goes to see Chad, who notes that she got there quick and informs her that Julie took the kids to the bakery. Chad then informs her that he wanted her to come over because when the kids get home, he’s going to tell them the truth that their mother is alive because it’s time. “Abigail” disagrees and says they absolutely cannot do that.

Ava goes to the Brady Pub where Roman says he’s been meaning to talk to her as there are new security cameras and he’s having the locks changed so he will get her new keys. Roman says he feels really bad about what she went through with Connie. Ava assures there’s nothing he could’ve done. Ava adds that she knows she’s still behind on rent and since she walked away from her job at the Pub, she doesn’t know when she will be able to pay him back. Roman brings up her leaving for a better job but Ava tells him that he’s aware of how fast things change in this town.

Stefan tells Gabi that he’s not in a rush to divorce her but he’s just thinking what is the point of dragging it on. Stefan states that they are both miserable so they should just cut their losses and end things. Gabi feels it still feels kind of sudden and asks why today. Stefan responds that he and EJ got into it earlier today and EJ said something that really resonated with him, even though he was obviously trying to goad him. Gabi asks what he said. Stefan informs her that EJ told him he’s never going to be able to erase the image of he and Gabi together and he’s right. Gabi responds that she can relate because ever since she found out about Stefan and Ava, she can’t get the mental images out of her head either, so she understands. Stefan guesses she also understands then that there is no fixing this as she can’t get over he and Ava while he can’t get over her and EJ, so there’s nothing left to fight for.

“Abigail” argues that they discussed this and decided it was too soon for the kids to meet her, so she questions what has changed. Chad argues that it’s too important to keep putting off and the kids need and miss her. Chad talks about the longer it goes, the more likely it is that the kids find out from someone random. Chad says he’s kept it out of the papers but there are a lot of people in and out of the DiMera Mansion. Chad feels they need to control what Thomas and Charlotte hear and how which is why it’s important that they tell them and they don’t find out from someone else.

Thomas asks Julie what the surprise is. Julie says if she told them, it wouldn’t be a surprise anymore. Leo comes by and greets them. Julie tells him that they are in a rush. Leo tells the kids how proud Chad is of them and how he would show him pictures of them when they were at work. Thomas questions Leo saying he doesn’t work for Chad anymore. Leo informs him that he’s now the head writer of Body and Soul, making the big bucks. Julie says they have to get on their way but Thomas has one more question and asks Leo if he’s still the tooth fairy, showing him that he has a loose tooth. Leo responds that he’s not a fairy after all. Leo then calls it a great day and adds that there’s great news about his mom. Thomas remarks that his mom is dead and questions what’s great about that, shocking Leo.

“Abigail” tells Chad that she wants to protect Thomas and Charlotte too but doesn’t see the harm in giving it more time if she’s starting to remember. Chad questions how much more time. Chad complains that every day that goes by is another day for the kids missing their mom. Chad argues that the kids are smart and more capable of understanding than she thinks. Chad asks “Abigail” what she needs or wants and if she isn’t tired of being a virtual prisoner in the DiMera Mansion or if she wants her life back. She says he has no idea how much. Chad says when she remembered her vows, he expected the flood gates to open. She points out that they didn’t and he was terribly disappointed. Chad talks about showing her their wedding album bringing the memory back so maybe seeing the children will bring her memories back. Chad thinks it’s what is best for them and declares it’s time to tell the kids the truth.

Julie questions what Leo is talking about, insisting there is no news about Abigail. Leo claims that she just got her angel wings in Heaven and that he actually is a fairy. Leo gives Thomas and Charlotte some money as the tooth fairy which Julie calls very generous. Leo says would give Julie some too but he ran out of cash. Julie says she’s out of patience so she walks off with the kids. Leo questions how he was supposed to know.

Paulina questions Stefan officially recanting his claim about EJ’s involvement in the baby switching involving Eric, Sloan, and Nicole. EJ confirms that Stefan added he will cease and desist his baseless claim to undermine him which Paulina calls interesting. EJ declares that now, Paulina has no reason to fire him. Paulina argues that EJ gave her plenty of reason but decides that since Melinda likes working for Kristen, she has no one to replace him with yet. EJ responds that he will continue happily working as district attorney and won’t take up more of her time. Paulina stops him and says she has one concern as they both know this claim is a lie, so she questions how exactly he coerced Stefan in to signing it.

Gabi tells Stefan that when the bomb was ticking down, she was sure she was going to die and thought about all the things she wished she had done or said in her life including telling Stefan one more time that she loved him. Gabi brings up Stefan coming to see her that night in the hospital and she thought maybe staring death in the face was exactly what they needed as she wanted to forgive him, but then she found out about how he tried to have sex with Ava again as revenge for her revenge sex with EJ. Stefan points out they didn’t sleep together again. Gabi notes she didn’t sleep with EJ again either but Stefan says she wanted to as EJ told him that he turned her down which Gabi confirms. Gabi admits she was hurt and wanted to hurt Stefan as he did too, so they both wanted to inflict pain on each other. Gabi states that’s just not something you do to someone you love with your whole heart.

EJ tells Paulina that Stefan’s statement was completely truthful. Paulina tells him not to insult her intelligence, questioning Stefan changing his tune for no reason as he was determined to bring EJ down. EJ reveals he threatened to sue for defamation which would’ve brought him down. Paulina questions what they are going to do when they run out of things to blackmail each other over. EJ jokes that will never happen as they have an endless supply. EJ repeats that he won’t take up more of her time and looks forward to working with her again as he exits.

Gabi tells Stefan that when he was taken from her and she thought he died, it felt like her heart had been ripped out and she didn’t think she would ever feel whole again, but then he came back and it was a miracle but when he wanted nothing to do with her, it was like losing him all over again. Stefan says then they were finally together again and so happy. Gabi points out that then she went to prison and the only thing that got her through was knowing that he was waiting for her as she kept telling herself that she had to stay strong for him, but then she found out about he and Ava which Stefan calls the biggest mistake of his life. Gabi admits she obviously couldn’t handle it. Stefan tells her that he’s so sorry and that he would give anything to go back to erase that terrible mistake because when they were good and happy, he never loved anyone more than he loved her as she was everything to him. Stefan recalls the poem he wrote her on their anniversary and calls himself a fool for screwing everything up. Gabi admits she then screwed it up even worse. Stefan calls it such a shame and says he’s so sorry. Gabi responds that she’s sorry too, but brings up the mental images they both see. Gabi declares that the damage is one and there’s nothing left to fight for anymore. Gabi tells Stefan to go ahead and file for divorce as she just wants it over with like he does. Stefan and Gabi say goodbye to one another as Stefan then exits the room. Gabi then breaks down crying.

Ava explains to Roman that when Stefan offered her the job at the Bistro, he insisted his marriage was over and he didn’t care what Gabi thought so she accepted his offer, but then she gave it some thought and realized it might be a little more complicated, so she quit before she started. Ava acknowledges that Stefan came to save her from Connie but they haven’t had a chance to discuss it because Stefan found out Gabi had been hurt so he ran off to help her and for all she knows, they could be back together again. Roman tells Ava that if she wants her job at the Pub back, she can have it but suggests figuring out where things are with Stefan first. Ava jokingly questions taking more time to pay Roman what she owes him. Roman points out that he’s waited this long. Ava calls him the best and thanks him. Ava says she will keep him posted as she exits the Pub. Leo then enters the Pub and asks Roman if he can get a drink as it has been a day and it’s not over yet, so Roman goes to get him a beer. Leo comments that soap opera life is crazy but real life leaves it in the dust. Roman asks what is going on that is so crazy. Leo responds that he just found out the hard way that Chad’s kids still don’t know that “Abigail” is alive.

“Abigail” tells Chad that she doesn’t want to turn the kids lives upside down on the off chance that it might bring her memories back. She says she feels terrible disappointing Chad but would feel worse disappointing them. Chad says he doesn’t want to argue and decides that if she doesn’t want to tell the kids, they won’t. She thanks him for understanding. Chad says he’ll just have to call Julie to tell her not to bring the kids home but he sees a text from Julie that they are on their way home. Julie then returns with the kids and Thomas runs in, asking who the woman with Chad is.

Leo tells Roman about how he had to cover with the kids after he mentioned news about Abigail and ended up going on about fairies. Roman points out that the kids bought it. Leo says they seemed to but he just assumed they would’ve been told by now that their mother is alive and living in Salem. Leo questions how long they can keep a secret like that under wraps.

Thomas questions “Abigail” staring at him and asks why Chad hasn’t answered him. Julie thinks Chad is collecting his thoughts and says to give him a moment. “Abigail” tells Thomas and Charlotte that she’s sorry to stare as she heard so much about them and wasn’t expecting to meet them. She claims to be a friend of Chad’s who works at the Spectator. Chad tells the kids that he wants to hear about their day but he has to finish work, so he asks Julie to take the kids to the kitchen. Thomas brings up that Julie said Chad had a surprise for them. Chad says it will be later as Julie takes the kids to the kitchen. Chad asks “Abigail” if that triggered anything but she says it didn’t. Chad responds that he doesn’t know where they go from here then. “Abigail” says she might have an idea.

Stefan sits at the Bistro, looking at his wedding ring as Ava enters and asks if he’s busy. Stefan responds that dinner service hasn’t started yet. Ava tells Stefan that Roman encouraged her to follow up with him on his job offer. Stefan asks if she came to un-quit. Ava says that depends on whether he and Gabi are back together. Stefan informs her that they are done which surprises Ava as when Stefan ran off after her, she thought maybe. Stefan admits there was a split second that he held out hope they could work things out, but he confirms that he and Gabi do not have a future together.

EJ goes to Gabi’s hospital room as he finishes a call with Johnny. Gabi asks what he’s doing there. EJ says he just thought she should know that he got a call from Rafe, who warned him to stay away from her. EJ says they live in the same house, so he wondered how she wanted to handle the situation. Gabi assures they’ll be fine since it’s a big house and they can respect each others’ boundaries while Rafe was just being protective. EJ assumes the flowers are from Stefan but Gabi says they are not. Gabi then informs EJ that Stefan was just there to tell her that he’s filing for divorce, because of EJ taunting him about the image of them in his head. EJ admits he told Stefan that because he knows he tends to obsess. EJ says he was only stating what he knows to be true. Gabi brings up Johnny once telling EJ about misplaced anger, that EJ took his anger over Nicole and Eric out on Gabi and Stefan to try and ruin their marriage and now he’s succeeded.

Ava questions Stefan and Gabi getting a divorce. Stefan confirms he was his idea and he filed for it. Stefan adds that he and Gabi talked and are on the same page. Ava admits she’s no fan of Gabi, but she cares about Stefan so she hopes he’s not jumping the gun in doing this because his feelings got hurt. Stefan assures that’s not it at all. Stefan acknowledges part of him will always love Gabi, but neither of them can get over what they did. Ava tells him that she’s so sorry. Stefan tells her it’s not her fault as she did not make any promises to Gabi like he did, so he’s the one who is sorry.

“Abigail” asks Chad what he thinks about her solution. Julie comes in and questions what’s going on as she thought this was the day to tell the children the truth about their mother. Chad explains that they were going to but “Abigail” wasn’t ready and he shouldn’t have assumed she would be. Julie decides it’s her chance to meet “Abigail” and introduces herself as her cousin. “Abigail” says it’s nice to meet her and that she’s heard so much about her and Doug. She adds that she’s grateful for all she has done to help them with this situation. Julie says if she remembered her, she’d realize she could be a little blunt. Julie argues that “Abigail” can’t believe she can continue this charade indefinitely. Julie reveals that she just ran in to Leo, who almost blurted out the secret, but he covered well and worries about someone else saying something. Chad assures they both know that and that “Abigail” just told him about an idea to address that. Julie asks what it is. “Abigail” reveals that she wants them to go to Paris.

EJ tells Gabi that he’s sorry if she blames him for the end of her marriage, but when they shared that night of passion, he was under the distinct impression that it was completely over. Gabi admits she knows and she doesn’t mean to blame him as he’s right. Gabi says she only lashed out at him because it was easier than blaming herself, but she knows that she is to blame since she is the one who came onto him in the first place and when she wanted to have sex again, he turned her down. Gabi can’t believe she is saying this, but calls EJ a perfect gentleman. EJ jokes that he has his moments. EJ tells Gabi that he’s never seen her back down from a fight if she doesn’t want her marriage to be over, but Gabi responds that it’s not a fight anymore. Gabi declares that no matter what she feels for Stefan, too much has happened and he agrees that what they had is truly dead for good this time.

Stefan tells Ava that he should’ve known all along that things would end up like this, remarking that nothing that burns so bright can last too long. Ava says that sounds about right. Stefan hopes she will consider coming back to work at the Bistro without any concern over Gabi or his future behavior. Ava assures that she’s not worried and she really needs the job, so she thanks him and says she would gladly trade it for an apron at the Brady Pub if it meant things could be different for he and Gabi. Stefan says that’s nice of her to say.

Leo reads over his script for Body and Soul, telling Roman that he hopes the audience enjoys it. Roman asks how the hospital shoot went. Leo explains that Hattie gave Abe and Kate an ultimatum which they were not having, so he had to write her exit and he’s afraid Hattie is now in the soap opera graveyard. Leo feels terrible because he knew before she did, but he was instructed that he couldn’t say a word until after Hattie filmed her final scene with Bonnie so she wouldn’t storm out. Leo considers Hattie a friend, so he hates that she was blindsided. Roman says that’s why they call it show business and not friendship. Leo feels like such a heel and talks about lying for a good reason but it’s still a lie and doesn’t make you feel any better in the end.

Julie questions “Abigail” and Chad going to Paris. “Abigail” explains that Chad said it’s where they went after their wedding and it was one of the most romantic times of their lives. Chad adds that since the wedding album triggered her memory so being there might trigger something else, while she’s been under so much stress and pressure in Salem. Julie asks if they plan on taking the children with them but “Abigail” says no and suggests leaving them with Jack and Jennifer in Boston so they don’t have to worry about someone saying anything to them. Julie is sure Jack and Jennifer will love that but questions if “Abigail” doesn’t remember anything in Paris. “Abigail” assures that they will then come back and tell the children the truth which Julie calls sensible. “Abigail” asks if Chad is on board with all of this. Chad declares “Paris, here we come.”

Rafe takes a walk in the hospital and calls Jada, asking her to pick him up later as he reveals that Kayla has cleared him to leave the hospital and he’s just waiting on the paper work to officially be a free man. Rafe mentions that he’s on his way to Gabi’s hospital room to give her the good news.

Gabi sleeps in her hospital bed where she dreams of Stefan coming to visit her and asking her to take him back.

Aaron joins his sister Felicity in the town square. Aaron tells her that Mark sent him to pick her up because he said something about having an important meeting.

Mark sits in the park with his sister, “Abigail” and tells her that reciting Abigail’s wedding vows to Chad was a genius move. She talks about going through their box of wedding mementos for something she could use. She assures that no one saw her in the attic where she found Abigail’s vows written. She talks about feeling bad for Chad believing his beloved wife’s memories are starting to come back.

Julie joins Chad in the living room of the Horton house. Julie mentions that she was just up in the attic and tells Chad that they have to talk. She sits Chad down and talks about Charlotte loves to go up in the attic and look through all their old things. Julie explains that Charlotte was up there going through every box, including the one that included Chad’s mementos with Abigail. Chad says he pulled that out the other day, hoping it would help “Abigail” remember and she ended up remembering her wedding vows. Julie says she’s glad she remembered something. Chad asks if there’s a but coming after that. Julie responds that unfortunately, there is.

“Abigail” talks to Mark about the look in Chad’s eyes as she recited the vows and how excited he was remembering the love he and Abigail shared. Mark says he can imagine how hard this is for her. “Abigail” asks who cares how she feels and complains that she hates lying to Chad and how hurt Chad will be when he finds out this is all a lie. Mark argues that she’s upset because she has a good heart and he loves her for that. Mark adds that it hasn’t been easy for him either as Chad obviously went through Hell when his wife was murdered and now making him think she’s back when she never will be. “Abigail” acknowledges that there is no alternative as thanks to Clyde, that’s clearer now more than ever that they don’t have a choice and she has to get Chad to the altar soon for his fourth wedding or else their mother is a dead woman.

Gabi continues dreaming about Stefan asking her to take him back until Rafe arrives and wakes her up. Rafe notes that she was mumbling and asks if she was having a good dream or a bad dream. Gabi calls it just a dream.

Stefan works at the Bistro as EJ arrives and asks if Stefan is still getting the hang of running a legitimate business. Stefan asks what he wants. EJ hands Stefan a folder and announces he’s suing him for defamation. Stefan asks what the hell he’s talking about and when he defamed him. EJ brings up Stefan telling Paulina that he had a hand in stealing Nicole’s baby which would hurt his reputation and career, so he’s going to need to be well compensated. Stefan calls EJ delusional if he thinks he’s going to bankroll his future after EJ admitted to helping Sloan cover up stealing Nicole’s baby. Stefan says he may not be the lawyer, but he’s not an idiot and he knows the truth is the best defense against any claim of defamation. EJ calls that impressive and admits he’s right that the truth is a solid defense against claims of defamation, but the question is who is going to give a damn about the truth when it becomes common knowledge that he slept with Stefan’s wife.

Gabi asks about Rafe being out of his hospital bed. Rafe says he’s been taking walks on the hospital floor and feeling relieved to be healthy and strong. Rafe adds that he had to come give her even more good news. Rafe then announces that he’s being released from the hospital today which Gabi calls amazing. Rafe talks about being sick of lying around and doing nothing, so he can’t wait to get home and back to work. Rafe asks how Gabi is. Gabi responds that she’s not too bad given that she was almost blown up by the psychopath who stabbed him. Gabi feels like such a fool as she can’t believe she hired Connie as her assistant, questioning how she couldn’t see that she was dangerous and totally insane. Rafe assures that she was an accomplished con artist so she couldn’t have seen that, but she’s locked up behind bars and won’t be able to hurt anyone else including Stefan. Gabi questions why Rafe brought up Stefan. Rafe points out that Connie hurt him too. Gabi states that she couldn’t care less about him which Rafe questions.

Aaron talks to Felicity about Mark being a good brother taking care of them and how their parents would be proud of him. Felicity wishes their parents hadn’t died. Aaron talks about it being hard for all of them and says Mark is a great older brother, but assures Felicity that he’s always there for her too.

Mark tells “Abigail” that the hardest part for him is lying to Aaron and Felicity. Mark talks about how they reacted when they were told that both of their parents died and how he still hears Felicity crying sometimes. “Abigail” says this will all soon be over and they will then be able to tell them that their mother is still alive.

Chad asks Julie if Charlotte got upset when she found the box. Julie tells her that Charlotte was delighted to see the old pictures. Chad asks why Julie seems upset then. Julie explains that afterwards, Charlotte wanted to talk about her mother and she said she knows that her mother is in Heaven but then she wanted to call her, so she had to explain that they couldn’t. Julie cries that Charlotte was so disappointed. Julie says it made her angry because Charlotte could talk to her mother since she’s not in Heaven, she’s right across town and she needs her. Julie declares that it’s time for Chad to tell the children that their mother is alive.

Stefan questions EJ planning to make it common knowledge that he slept with his brother’s wife. EJ remarks that Stefan’s wife threw herself at him and virtually begged her to have sex with him when he was just trying to help her right an egregious wrong. Stefan says that’s a great speech. EJ thinks The Intruder would be happy to print an item about his night of passion with Gabi. EJ jokes that it’s a shame Lady Whistleblower is no longer writing as he would’ve been glad to share. Stefan asks if he thinks him sleeping with Gabi being in print will make his involvement in kidnapping Nicole’s baby come off as fake news. EJ reminds Stefan that he has experience with jury selection, so he knows they will see Stefan for a cuckold husband, humiliated and vengeful, trying to desperately prop himself up with baseless accusations. EJ adds that by the time he finishes making his case, Stefan won’t have enough money left to split rent with Ava. EJ says that’s if he files the lawsuit which he won’t if Stefan signs an affidavit, saying that any accusations he made about him were patently false.

Gabi tells Rafe that she didn’t want to overwhelm him about Stefan when he first woke up as it was stuff he didn’t need to know. Rafe says he did need to know since she is his sister and that’s why Jada told him that Stefan cheated on her. Gabi talks about it being with Ava while she was rotting away in prison. Rafe guesses it must have been tough to hear. Gabi calls it brutal but points out that she told Rafe that Ava was trouble back when they got together as she was sure Ava would ruin his life. Rafe points out that their relationship ended because he cheated on Ava. Gabi brings up Ava getting back at him by trying to set him up as a dirty cop and ruin his reputation which she thinks was going overboard. Gabi guesses that since Ava didn’t succeed in ruining Rafe’s life, she decided to ruin her life instead. Rafe feels she didn’t succeed there either and asks if Gabi really thinks Ava ruined her life. Gabi declares that her marriage is over. Rafe feels it doesn’t need to be. Rafe gets that Stefan hurt her, but points out that they were in love and so happy. Rafe asks if Gabi doesn’t think at some point that she can forgive him and that at times Gabi isn’t the most level headed person. Gabi questions Rafe thinking she’s overreacting. Rafe says maybe a little, but he doesn’t want her to make some drastic decision that she can’t take back. Rafe repeats that Stefan and Gabi were so good and happy together and in love. Rafe asks if Gabi really thinks in her heart that her marriage is over.

Chad assures Julie that he wants to tell the kids that their mother is alive but “Abigail” is afraid because of how different she looks and not remembering them, so she thinks it will be too traumatic for them. Julie argues that nobody knows how the children will react but worries about the longer they wait. Chad says that “Abigail” doesn’t want to until she gets her memory back since she doesn’t remember anything about them. Julie questions if she ever gets her memory back while she’s living in Salem, so anyone could tell the children. Julie thinks it would be better for them to hear from their father that their mother is alive.

“Abigail” tells Mark that Aaron and Felicity have been through enough and it’s cruel to lie to them. Mark says he understands, but as long as Clyde is holding their mother hostage, they have to keep them in the dark. Aaron and Felicity then approach them in the park.

Rafe comments on Gabi and Stefan being through so much, reminding her that she thought he was dead for years and when they found each other again, she was so damn happy. Rafe asks if she’s going to let this one mistake ruin everything. Gabi calls it a big mistake. Rafe agrees but asks if she wants to throw it all away over it. Rafe says it might not be his business but feels there could be a way to get past it. Gabi responds that Stefan’s infidelity isn’t the only thing they would need to get past, revealing she may have escalated the situation when she slept with EJ which shocks Rafe. Gabi knows it was really stupid but she was so angry and hurt. Rafe calls that completely insane, arguing that she hates EJ for sending her to prison and questions why she would sleep with him. Gabi then admits it was Connie’s idea which Rafe questions. Gabi clarifies that Connie told her that she should get back at Stefan by cheating on him like he did to her. Rafe can’t believe she listened to her. Gabi argues that she didn’t know Connie was a homicidal maniac, hellbent on ruining her life. Gabi adds that it didn’t seem like bad advice at the time which Rafe questions, reminding her that EJ sent her to prison. Gabi complains that she had to do something because she couldn’t stop thinking about Stefan sleeping with Ava and picturing it as hard as she tried. Rafe wonders if sleeping with EJ made her feel better and if it got rid of the image in her head. Gabi admits that it didn’t as no matter what she does, she doesn’t think she will ever stop picturing Stefan having sex with Ava.

Stefan agrees to sign EJ’s affidavit and hands it back to him. Stefan brings up EJ saying that Gabi threw herself at him and says that may have been true that one time, but she admitted it was the only time it happened and that she was not interested in coming back for more. EJ confirms that is true that it was only the one time, but says it’s not true that Gabi wasn’t interested in coming back for more. EJ informs Stefan that his wife did come to his room, hoping it could happen again since the first time was so satisfying, but he turned her down out of respect for Stefan. EJ doubts that Stefan will ever be able to get the image out of his head as he then exits the Bistro.

Chad agrees with Julie that the longer they wait to tell the kids, the greater the risk is that they find out from someone else which would be very hurtful. Chad decides that he will tell the kids. Julie thanks him and says that’s all she wanted to hear as they hug.

Mark asks Aaron and Felicity what they are doing in the park. Aaron explains that he was taking her to feed the ducks and asks what they are doing since Mark mentioned an important meeting. Mark claims it finished early, so he took a walk and ran in to one of his patients, who he introduces as Abigail Deveraux. She says it’s nice to meet them while Felicity says that she looks familiar.

Gabi asks Rafe about getting released from the hospital. Rafe then gets a text from Jada that she is on her way to pick him up. Gabi tells Rafe that in spite of their discussion, she knows everything he said came from a caring place. Rafe assures that he didn’t mean to be hard on her, he just loves her and wants her to be happy. Gabi responds that she wants the same for him. Gabi says she’s so happy that he’s getting out of the hospital. Rafe tells Gabi that whenever she gets out, she’ll always have a home with him. Rafe tells her not to forget that and that he loves her as he then exits her room.

“Abigail” questions Felicity thinking she looks familiar and assures they haven’t met. Mark guesses she just has one of those faces and says he should get to the hospital, so he’ll see them at home for dinner. Aaron and Felicity then walk away. “Abigail” turns to Mark and says she can’t believe she just saw her little brother and sister for the first time in so long and they didn’t even know it was her because of the plastic surgery. She talks about Felicity sensing something with her. “Abigail” then gets a call from Chad, who tells her that they need to talk and invites her over to the house.

Stefan goes to Gabi’s hospital room with flowers as he did in her dream.

Mark sits in the park, looking at a photo of his mom on his phone. Mark promises he’s going to get her out of this. Aaron and Felicity return to the park, so Aaron questions what Mark is still doing there when he said he had to get to the hospital. Mark claims he just got a call from a patient that he had to take. Felicity mentions having fun feeding the ducks. Aaron asks about his patient “Abigail” and Mark says she had to go, while Felicity notes that she still thinks she looks familiar.

“Abigail” goes to see Chad, who notes that she got there quick and informs her that Julie took the kids to the bakery. Chad then informs her that he wanted her to come over because when the kids get home, he’s going to tell them the truth that their mother is alive.

EJ walks through the town square and gets a call from Rafe. EJ calls it a surprise as he thought Rafe was in a coma. Rafe informs him that he woke up. EJ jokes about hearing rumors of that and asks what he can do for him. Rafe calls him a stupid son of a bitch and says he heard about him getting involved with his sister. Rafe warns EJ to stay the hell away from Gabi and out of her marriage. EJ asks if that’s a threat. Rafe tells him to go to Hell and hangs up. EJ remarks that Rafe must not have gotten the memo that there will soon be no marriage to stay out of because that marriage is doomed.

Gabi questions Stefan bringing her flowers but he clarifies that they were at the desk so a nurse asked him to bring them in. Stefan opens the card and sees they are from her assistants at Gabi Chic, wishing her a speedy recovery and mentioning they thought Connie was a psycho. Gabi remarks that everyone could see Connie was insane except her. Gabi then asks Stefan what he’s doing there. Stefan informs her that he just spoke to his lawyer and announces he’s filing for divorce.

Holly asks Tate if it’s just over between them then. Holly calls Tate a coward and says she’ll save him the trouble. Holly declares that they are over and tells Tate and Sophia to have a happy life together as they totally deserve each other. Holly says goodbye to Tate and storms off.

Xander opens his desk drawer and pulls out his gun, commenting that Eric better hope the justice system works fast or else he’ll have no choice but to take matters into his own hands. Maggie then arrives and asks what he’s doing with that gun.

Marlena goes to see Brady in the interrogation room at the police station. Marlena tells him that she and John are so worried about him. Brady responds that he’s worried about John with all he’s put him through because of his screwing up. Brady adds that what he did was unforgivable. Marlena assures that they love him so much and will be here for him now and always. Marlena questions EJ leaving. Brady responds that EJ just came to gloat and was sure to let him know that he’s going to prison and not even Kristen can save him.

Dr. Rolf emerges from the DiMera Tunnels and questions it looking like a bomb went off down there which Kristen confirms. Kristen warns Rolf that he shouldn’t be here since he’s wanted for crimes if the police catch him. Dr. Rolf acknowledges the risk but says he has important news that he felt must be delivered in person.

Xander tells Maggie that as CEO of Titan, there’s a huge target on his back and claims he keeps the gun for protection. Maggie argues that the building has a ton of security. Xander points out that Maggie was able to gain access without him knowing then asks what brings her by. Maggie says she has something to speak to him about alone. Xander asks if he’s in trouble. Maggie says not yet but perhaps trouble can be avoided if she takes her advice. Maggie brings up Sarah identifying Brady as the drunk driver who hit her, so he will be going to prison for what he did. Maggie then asks Xander to drop his vendetta against Brady.

Marlena tells Brady that it sounds like EJ is pretty upset with Kristen for making Brady’s car disappear so it couldn’t be used as evidence. Brady confirms that he is and says he’s upset with her for doing it too, but she’s determined to get him out of this mess. Brady mentions that Kristen visited earlier and offered to do something pretty extreme to ensure his freedom. Marlena says she’s afraid to ask. Brady thinks back to Kristen offering to make Sarah disappear. Brady decides it’s better that Marlena doesn’t know. Marlena asks if it was something illegal. Brady assures her that he told Kristen to lay off and stand down immediately. Marlena hopes that she listens because whenever Kristen gets involved in somebody’s problems, she can make them a lot worse.

Kristen asks Dr. Rolf what his urgent news is. Dr. Rolf reminds Kristen that she reached out to him after becoming CEO of DiMera Enterprises and asked him to work on scientific innovations for the company. Kristen says she wanted him to work on something that would secure her a win and prove the doubters wrong. Dr. Rolf informs her that it paid off as there’s been a monumental breakthrough that will make her and her board members very rich.

Sophia tells Tate that was intense. Tate can’t believe that he and Holly are over. Sophia says she’s so sorry. Tate questions if she really is. Sophia says she is and asks why he would even ask. Tate points out that they were just at each others’ throats so he thought she would enjoy watching their relationship blow up. Sophia says she has her issues with Holly but she knows how much Tate cared about her and fought to be with her, so she’s not happy for his sake. Tate apologizes for doubting her as he’s just obviously upset. Sophia understands that Holly broke his heart. Sophia says after the way Holly broke his trust and used him to try to get evidence against Brady, she truly thinks he’s better off without her.

Holly breaks down crying outside the Pub. Eric walks by but Holly tells him to leave her alone. Eric knows she’s still mad at him but he wants her to know that he loves her and he’s always there if she needs to talk. Holly then informs him that she and Tate just broke up and says it’s all Eric’s fault. Eric says he’s sorry but questions how it’s his fault. Holly complains that Eric and Brady just get drunk, run people down, and don’t face the consequences but Tate still defends both of them. Eric argues that Tate loves his father and is scared that he’s going to prison which Holly says he deserves. Eric knows this situation hits close to come. Holly stops him and yells at him not to pretend to know what she needs. Holly declares that Eric doesn’t care about her and neither does Nicole.

Tate brings up how Sophia said he and Holly fought so hard to be together including lying to his parents and sneaking around behind their backs while now it’s just over, like it was all for nothing. Sophia says it really sucks and she hopes it’s not his fault since he tried to work things out but she went a little psycho. Sophia says Holly may have a lot going on but she didn’t have to take it out on him. Sophia points out that it isn’t the first time Holly screwed him over, bringing up how she took her time clearing his name when he went to jail and rehab, then apologizes for bringing that up. Sophia asks if there’s anything she can do. Tate thanks her but thinks he should just head home. Sophia suggests they take a walk instead so he’s not alone. Tate asks about her having to work but Sophia says she has time before her shift starts so Tate accepts and they walk off together.

Xander thinks Maggie is exaggerating and says all he wanted was for Brady to be brought to justice for what he did to Sarah. Maggie asks why he wanted to break his legs then, revealing that Fiona told her about him going after Brady with a baseball bat. Xander explains that at the time, he was very frustrated that Brady got away with paralyzing Sarah. Maggie questions him taking it that far and says thank God that Fiona was there to stop him. Xander argues that Fiona sleeping with Brady was another reason that his anger was justified. Maggie points out that Brady didn’t even know that Fiona was Xander’s mother when they slept together. Xander thinks he continued in order to stick it to him. Maggie argues that Xander is obsessed with Brady and suggests he spend more time with his wife than getting back at Brady.

Brady agrees with Marlena that Kristen would just make his situation worse, but admits that he’d much rather her be fighting with him than against him. Marlena understands they’ve been involved in incredible fights over Rachel. Brady says that may finally be coming to an end since Kristen said she’s willing to revisit their custody arrangement. Brady thinks that was just an incentive for him not to give up after the accident. Marlena thinks that Kristen may have had a different motivation which Brady questions. Marlena then reveals that Kristen told her that she still loves him. Brady notes that she told him that too earlier which Marlena calls interesting since Brady didn’t say he never wants to be involved with that psycho again. Brady wishes he did feel that way after all the awful things she’s done to them and the people they care about. Brady feels that Kristen saying she still loves him should mean nothing since he’s never going to return her feelings. Marlena questions if he doesn’t feel that way.

Kristen goes over Dr. Rolf’s papers and questions understanding any of it. Dr. Rolf explains that he has a whole presentation prepared to explain his research to her that will only take an hour or two. Kristen appreciates his hard work and enthusiasm but says she doesn’t have that time since she needs to focus her energy on trying to save Brady. Dr. Rolf argues that this is the scientific discovery of the century that could make DiMera billions. Kristen understands but asks to put it on the backburner until she can get Brady out of trouble. Dr. Rolf can’t believe what he’s hearing. Dr. Rolf argues that this is the future of the world but she’s still wrapped up in her unhealthy obsession with Brady. Kristen warns him to remember who is in charge. Dr. Rolf brings up that Stefano also had his obsession with Marlena, but he always understood when to put his personal matter aside for the good of the company or at least made the effort to multitask. He believes that is what Stefano would want Kristen to do in this situation. Kristen then gives in and tells him to lay it on her.

Eric tells Holly that she has to believe that he and Nicole hate that she’s in so much pain and Nicole really wants to help her. Holly asks where the hell she is then and why she doesn’t just come home if she’s so important to her. Eric insists that Nicole would be there if she could but Jude is sick so she doesn’t want to put him on the plane. Eric suggests maybe Holly could go visit Nicole instead.

In the park, Tate tells Sophia that what really gets him is how Holly is completely in the wrong but blames everyone else including Sophia. Sophia acknowledges that they haven’t been getting along for awhile now so she’s an easy scapegoat. Tate argues that it’s not right when all Sophia did was call Holly out for using him, then for Holly to hit her. Sophia thinks back to provoking Holly over wanting to have sex with Tate. Sophia then admits to Tate that Holly didn’t hit her for calling her out but because she admitted to having feelings for Tate.

Xander assures Maggie that he’s been there for Sarah and has been spending as much time with her as he can. Maggie says she’s not talking about physically, but emotionally. Maggie says that Sarah has been going through so much while Xander has been focusing so much time and energy on how to punish Brady. Xander admits he doesn’t know how to help Sarah when she’s always insisting everything is fine but she’s not. Xander talks about hearing her cry and seeing how sad she looks which makes him feel helpless to watch her suffer. Xander states that he can’t help Sarah regain the use of her legs, but he can help her get justice. Maggie points out that now Brady is facing judgment and Xander will get his justice, so it’s time to let it go for his sake and Sarah’s.

Brady jokes with Marlena about feeling like he’s in therapy with her but he knows she’s just being a concerned parent. Marlena asks him to answer her question. Brady admits to always feeling this pull towards Kristen as even when times are bad, he can’t get her out of his system. Marlena understands since they share a daughter. Brady calls it like an addiction but says because of Rachel, he has to be in contact with Kristen. Marlena asks if Brady is in danger of falling off the wagon when it comes to Kristen. Brady says no and that he’s just still burned from what happened with Theresa. Brady adds that even if he was ready to love again, it’s a moot point because he’s going to prison.

Kristen tells Dr. Rolf to just give her the gist and make it snappy. Dr. Rolf reminds Kristen of the prisms that contained advanced scientific properties. Kristen recalls Dr. Rolf and Megan using one to cure Bo’s brain tumor. Dr. Rolf adds that they also used one to create a fountain of youth serum from the rare jungle orchid. Kristen questions if he perfected that and asks why he didn’t lead with that. Dr. Rolf clarifies that he didn’t perfect a fountain of youth. Dr. Rolf adds that even though the ISA now has the prisms, he was able to work off his notes and come up with a new serum that will revolutionize medicine that has regenerative properties far beyond stem cells. Dr. Rolf says you could regenerate a failed organ, dying tissue, or reverse any damage to the human body. Kristen asks what about a spinal cord injury.

Tate questions Sophia admitting to Holly that she has feelings for him. Sophia confirms that she does and says Tate can’t be that surprised since he knew before when they went to prom. Tate thought she just wanted to be friends and they were past all that. Sophia says she meant it and tried to get past it so she could be supportive of he and Holly, but deep down she still isn’t over him. Tate says he’s sorry as he didn’t realize. Sophia tells him not to be sorry as she doesn’t want it to be weird between them. Sophia says she didn’t realize it either but Holly kept suggesting she was trying to steal him away which led to her admitting she does still like him which is why Holly hit her. Sophia admits to flirting with Tate at the Horton Cabin last summer and suggesting they have sex. Tate admits that was awkward. Sophia says she was obviously out of line but he totally rejected her anyway which was pretty humiliating. Sophia adds that after that, she decided to have self respect and backed off. Sophia apologizes for making this all about her but says after what Holly did to him, she wants everything out in the open between them with no deception.

Holly questions Eric wanting her to fly to Paris in the middle of her senior year. Eric says they could go for a long weekend so she wouldn’t miss much classes, insisting this is important. Holly argues that applying for college is important too and Nicole isn’t here to help her with that. Eric suggests Nicole could help her over video chat but Holly says it’s not the same as in person. Eric reminds her that Nicole asked her to move with them. Holly complains that Nicole could’ve made her a priority and stayed with her but she didn’t and instead did what Eric wanted. Eric argues that Nicole is concerned and wants to see her. Holly calls it pointless since she has nothing to say to her. Eric questions her just shutting Nicole out. Eric states that he’s the one responsible for her father’s death, not Nicole. Holly remarks that Nicole just lied to her about it for her entire life. Eric asks Holly to give Nicole a chance to explain why she came to that decision, feeling she owes her that much.

Marlena tells Brady that going to prison is not a foregone conclusion since Justin is a very good attorney and may be able to pull off a miracle. Brady reiterates that he’s not looking for a miracle. Marlena knows he thinks he deserves to be punished but asks him to let Justin do his job. Brady says he is because of John, otherwise he’d just want this whole thing over with. Brady declares that he’s responsible for Sarah being in a wheelchair and suffering, so he needs to take responsibility for it.

Xander tells Maggie that he hears her and he hasn’t only been sitting around looking to punish Brady as he’s also been looking for a specialist to help Sarah walk again but they all agree with the current doctors that things don’t look promising. Maggie guesses it’s time for them to face the reality that Sarah’s paralysis is most likely permanent.

Dr. Rolf informs Kristen that the serum wasn’t specifically created for spinal cord injuries but supposes it’s not out of the realm of possibility with some engineering and asks why she asks. Kristen explains that Brady is currently facing prison time for a hit and run while Sarah is paralyzed and may never walk again. Dr. Rolf says he’d have to look at her charts to see if the serum is appropriate for her case. Kristen asks if it’s possible that the serum may get Sarah back on her feet again. Dr. Rolf confirms that he believes it’s possible. Kristen tells him to get working on this right away then. Kristen says she will get him a lab to revive the serum and gets excited about Sarah walking again. Dr. Rolf knows she spent a lot of time with Sarah on the island but didn’t realize she cared so much for her. Kristen says she doesn’t, so Dr. Rolf asks about her ulterior motive. Kristen tells him that she has her reasons and if he wants his funding, his lab, and the glory of the scientific breakthrough, then he will leave it at that.

Xander tells Maggie that he’s not ready to give up hope. Maggie says she isn’t either but if it turns out that Sarah’s condition is permanent, they must not forget that she can still have a full and productive life which she will because Xander and Victoria are in her corner. Xander thanks Maggie for helping him get his priorities straight and agrees to focus all of his attention on Sarah and stop obsessing about Brady.

Marlena tells Brady that Eric felt the same way he does after what happened to Daniel and he was tormented by it, but he found there are other ways to atone for mistakes besides going to jail. Brady says he gets that and he’s glad Eric found a way to make peace with the fact that he took a life. Brady guesses he’s lucky in that Sarah is still alive, but he’s not ready to make peace with what he did. Marlena hopes in time that he will and assures she’s always here for him along with his father. Brady repeats that he feels really bad about the pain he’s causing John and thinks he’d be better off accepting his son’s fate. Marlena argues that they can’t do that, pointing out that there was no way Brady couldn’t be there for Tate when he was in trouble last year. Brady points out that Tate was innocent, but admits he would’ve stood by his side either way like Tate is doing for him now which is costing him a lot. Marlena asks how so. Brady explains that Tate and Holly had a big fight because of him. Marlena says she’s sorry to hear that. Brady says he had reservations about Tate and Holly being together, but now that they are, he’d hate to be the reason they break up.

Tate thanks Sophia for being honest with him, acknowledging that it wasn’t easy for her. Sophia comments that it was easier telling him than Holly. Tate is sorry that Holly hit her and calls it totally wrong of her, but notes that at least it didn’t leave a mark. Sophia is glad since her parents would’ve lost it. Tate brings up his mom going to prison and his dad possibly joining her and says it makes him miss his parents being all up in his business. Sophia jokes that her parents will gladly give him the third degree and tell him what to do. Sophia asks if they are still cool after she told him she has feelings for him. Tate assures they are and says he’s glad that she told him because it’s good that it’s out in the open instead of her having to hold anything back with him. Sophia then responds by kissing Tate.

Eric wishes Holly wouldn’t make him speak on Nicole’s behalf but insists that Nicole needs to see Holly and misses her terribly. Holly has a hard time believing that, crying that she could’ve stayed here. Eric argues that Nicole had her reasons and they were big decisions. Eric adds that Holly won’t have to stay very long and offers to buy her plane ticket. Eric says all she has to do is go pack her things. Holly then gives in and agrees to go to Paris, pointing out that nothing is keeping her in Salem anymore.

Tate pulls away from Sophia and thinks she misunderstood as he’s not ready to move on yet. Sophia feels bad for totally misreading the situation. Tate says she’s been understanding and supportive but he’s such a mess right now, so he’s going to head home. Sophia asks if he’s sure she didn’t screw things up. Tate says he’s positive and that he will text her later. Sophia encourages him to go home and take it easy. Tate then exits the park, leaving Sophia with a smile.

Dr. Rolf declares that science is calling him. He looks to the portrait of Stefano and says he appreciated his brilliance while Kristen is a different story. Dr. Rolf wonders what Kristen is up to this time.

Kristen goes to the Titan office to see Xander, who complains about security being a problem and asks what she wants. Kristen suggests he change his tone as she’s here to help him.

Marlena tells Brady to take care and they will talk soon. Brady thanks her for coming. Marlena can’t help but wonder what Kristen has in mind when she talks about helping him. Brady asks her not to worry about it. Marlena points out that when Kristen sets her mind to something, there’s no telling what she might do to follow through.

Xander questions Kristen saying that Dr. Rolf’s new serum can make Sarah walk again. Kristen says Dr. Rolf still needs to fine tune the formula but when it’s all done, it will be all his. Kristen asks Xander for one favor in return, to make sure that Brady goes free.

Xander sits at his desk at the Titan office, reading the Spectator article about Sarah identifying Brady as the drunk driver that hit her. Xander declares that son of a bitch is finally going to pay. Eric then enters and asks if he’s doing a victory dance. Xander complains that Brady put his wife in a wheelchair so he will rejoice in his downfall. Xander questions why Eric is there. Eric sits down and declares he’s not going anywhere until they have a little chat.

Tate visits Brady in the interrogation room at the police station. Tate asks how he’s doing. Brady responds that he’s a lot better than when Tate found him last night. Tate questions him being passed out drunk but Brady insists that he wasn’t drunk.

Kristen goes to the DiMera Mansion and confronts EJ over having Brady arrested again. Kristen calls it harassment, arguing that he has no concrete evidence linking Brady to Sarah’s hit and run but he’s having the police drag him in. EJ guesses she hasn’t heard that an eye witness came forward which Kristen questions. EJ informs her that it was the victim herself, Sarah Kiriakis.

Fiona brings Sarah to the park in her wheelchair. Sarah thanks her for bringing her. Fiona says it gives them time to talk about what Sarah told the police that she remembered seeing. Sarah asks what about it. Fiona then reveals that she knows Sarah was lying.

Brady tells Tate that he knows how it must have looked, but he was not drinking last night. Tate asks how he can even say that when he was slurring his words and he had to carry him to bed. Brady explains that he doesn’t remember everything but he was totally out of it, though he swears that something knocked him out that wasn’t alcohol. Brady declares that after what happened to Sarah, he’s never drinking again and asks Tate to please believe him.

Sophia approaches Holly in the town square. Holly questions what she wants. Sophia says she just wanted to congratulate her on her new job which Holly questions. Sophia asks if Holly didn’t get hired as the district attorney’s new teen detective.

Kristen questions EJ about Sarah being his eye witness. EJ guesses she hasn’t seen the news today. EJ informs Kristen that Sarah came forward last night, saying she remembers seeing Brady in the driver’s seat of the car that hit her, so despite Kristen’s antics, Brady is finally going to pay for his crimes. Kristen questions Sarah suddenly remembering after all this time. EJ thinks it’s not so implausible for memories to come back slowly after trauma. Kristen argues that EJ knows Sarah is lying.

Sarah question why Fiona thinks she’s lying. Fiona responds that she just knows she doesn’t remember seeing Brady behind the wheel that night. Sarah asks how she could know that. Fiona flashes back to the accident. Sarah asks Fiona why she thinks she doesn’t remember seeing Brady driving the car that hit her.

Xander tells Eric that if he came to beg for mercy for Brady, he can save his breath because they now have concrete evidence that he ran down Sarah. Eric says he didn’t come for absolution for his brother, but to ask Xander what he was doing in his parent’s house last night, standing over Brady while he was all but dead to the world.

Brady asks Tate if he believes that he wasn’t drinking last night. Tate confirms that he does and he’s 100% in his corner. Brady says it means a lot to hear him say that as he knows this hasn’t been easy for him. Brady says it’s like the whole town thinks the worst of him and he deserves that but Tate doesn’t. Brady adds that Tate doesn’t deserve to have both of his parents in prison and he’s sorry about that. Tate assures that he’ll be fine. Brady knows his grandparents are behind him. Brady asks about things with Holly. Tate admits they aren’t great and things are going quite badly. Brady asks if something happened. Tate explains that Holly just hasn’t been understanding at all about the accident and Brady not meaning to hurt anyone, complaining that she’s so damn angry and she won’t even try to see his point of view. Tate questions how he could be with someone who doesn’t respect that he loves his father. Brady says she’s just angry about her aunt and encourages giving her time. Tate responds that he was trying to give her time, until he found out what she did. Brady questions what she did. Tate then reveals that Holly snuck in to Brady’s room, looking for dirt on him.

Holly asks Sophia what the hell she’s talking about. Sophia says she heard all about her pathetic little spy games and mocks her. Holly calls her mean, petty, and vindictive, arguing that she has no idea what she’s talking about. Sophia then remarks that she knows what Tate told her because he had to talk to someone. Sophia brings up Holly lying about wanting to get back together just so she could snoop around Brady’s room and says that’s low even for her. Sophia bets EJ put Holly up to it.

EJ asks why Kristen doesn’t believe that Sarah’s memory about that night could’ve returned. Kristen argues that she’s not an idiot, pointing out that even Marlena’s hypnosis couldn’t bring back Sarah’s memories. Kristen questions Sarah suddenly having a miraculous recall after finding out Brady wasn’t going to face charges and calls it a little convenient.

Sarah questions why Fiona thinks she’s lying about seeing Brady. Fiona admits that she overheard her telling Xander that she lied to the police when she was on her way back to the bedroom, but she can’t figure out why. Fiona asks if it’s because she wants to see Brady punished. Sarah says it’s not that, but that she had no choice. Fiona doesn’t understand. Sarah explains that Xander has been so consumed with anger and obsessed with getting revenge against Brady, so he was going to kill Brady and make it look like a suicide, so she had no choice but to lie to the police as it was the only way to save Brady and Xander.

Brady questions Tate catching Holly snooping around in his room. Tate confirms that she already got in to his briefcase when he caught her and she tried to act all innocent but then admitted what she was doing and he was beyond pissed off, so he made her leave the house and can’t stand to look at her. Brady is sorry that his situation caused them to have a fight. Tate tells him there’s more as he thinks EJ and Holly have been teaming up. Brady asks what he means. Tate says he thinks EJ put Holly up to going after him as they have been acting like buddies ever since Holly found out that Eric killed her father. Tate wishes he hadn’t told her that. Brady insists there’s no way that Tate could’ve known that Holly didn’t already know. Brady assures that Tate is not to blame for any of it and that it’s him and Eric that made horrific mistakes. Brady thinks EJ is using Holly’s anger as a weapon against him, so he advises Tate not to be too hard on Holly. Brady knows they are both angry but in the end, he thinks Tate will need Holly as much as she needs him. Brady tells Tate that he loves him and he’s proud of him, thanking him for his compassion and kindness. Tate says he loves him too and decides to get going to catch up on his school work. Tate guesses he will see him soon and tells him to take care as he exits the room. Brady remarks to himself that EJ never lets up.

EJ tells Kristen that she’s got it all wrong since Sarah isn’t like her and wasn’t raised by Stefano or taught to get through life with nefarious plans. EJ admits he’s cut from the same cloth, but Sarah is a Horton and a stand-up citizen. Kristen argues that Sarah lied twice about the paternity of her children. EJ feels Kristen is grasping at straws because she’s still in love with Brady even though he detests her which Kristen disagrees with. Kristen tells EJ that she and Brady are getting closer lately and it would break Rachel’s heart if Brady went to prison but EJ doesn’t give a damn about his niece. Kristen argues that EJ just wants to do this to hurt Eric and says it isn’t Brady’s fault that Nicole left him. EJ responds that it is Brady’s fault that Sarah is crippled so he is going to do everything in his power to make sure Brady pays dearly. Kristen says they’ll see about that as she then storms out of the room.

Eric asks Xander again what the hell he was doing in his parents’ house last night. Xander responds that he went there to warn Brady that he wasn’t going to rest until he was behind bars and that’s it. Eric questions how Brady ended up smashed last night. Xander tells Eric that Brady is a drunk. Eric questions if he was smashed when he got there. Xander says the door was open, Brady was in his sorry state and the next thing he knew, the police barged in. Eric responds that he doesn’t buy a word of his story.

Sarah explains to Fiona that Xander was going to kill Brady and make it look like he took his own life, so she had no choice but to lie to the police. Sarah adds that she was in the park when she saw Xander plotting with some guy. Sarah tells Fiona that she’s sorry as she knows it must be so upsetting. Fiona cries that it’s all her fault as she has hurt Sarah, Xander, and Brady so much. Sarah tells her she’s not to blame for any of this but Fiona says she is to blame for all of it.

Holly asks Sophia how any of this is her business. Sophia responds that Tate made it her business when he confided in her which he’s been doing a lot lately. Sophia argues that she shouldn’t take out what Eric did on Tate. Holly argues that she has no idea what she’s been going through. Holly says she’s angry because Brady ran over Sarah and didn’t even stop to see if she was okay. Sophia questions how any of that is Tate’s fault and says she broke his trust by breaking in to Brady’s room. Holly argues that she didn’t break in as the door was open, so Sophia asks what her explanation is for prying in to his briefcase. Holly says she doesn’t owe her an explanation for anything. Sophia doesn’t see how she could use Tate like that and says no wonder he keeps coming to her for comfort. Holly complains that Sophia has been trying to steal Tate from her for months. Sophia responds that she doesn’t have to steal him because Holly is handing him over by being the same broken hot mess she’s been since they were kids. Sophia remarks that she’s also obviously sexually repressed. Holly tells her to shut the hell up. Sophia states that Holly not putting out works in her favor since Tate is obviously ready to go and she can’t wait to get him in bed. Sophia adds that even if Holly was putting out, she couldn’t satisfy Tate like she can and will. Holly then slaps Sophia right as Tate walks up and asks what the hell she is doing. Tate checks on Sophia and asks if she’s alright. Sophia says she’s fine and just needs some ice. Tate questions what is wrong with Holly. Holly argues that she started it. Tate argues that she didn’t have to hit her. Sophia admits that Holly is telling the truth that she did start it.

Kristen goes to see Brady in the interrogation room and says she’s sorry as she came as soon as she heard. Kristen adds that Rachel doesn’t know and asks how he is. Brady says he’s fine. Kristen complains that he shouldn’t be in here and she could strangle EJ. Brady tells her not to blame EJ as he’s just doing his job as this is where he belongs and what he deserves. Kristen argues that Rachel deserves both of her parents while Brady says they talked about this and that Rachel has Kristen and his parents, so she’ll be fine. Kristen hates that Brady is so passive about this, urging him to fight and she’ll fight with him. Kristen declares that she will not just stand by and watch him go to prison. Brady stops her and says there’s nothing more that can be done. Kristen disagrees and tells him that she has a plan as she could make Sarah disappear.

Sarah questions why Fiona thinks she’s to blame for any of this. Fiona explains that she was with Brady right before the accident and she’s a recovering alcoholic too, so she should’ve seen the signs and taken him to a meeting. Fiona cries that she’s sorry and hopes Sarah can forgive her. Sarah says there’s nothing to forgive as there was no way for her to know that Brady would drive. Sarah hates that she lied to the police, but because she did, Brady will face the consequences of his actions.

Eric tells Xander that he was with Brady at the Pub last night and he wasn’t drinking. Xander argues that he wouldn’t drink right in front of him. Eric mentions that Brady said he didn’t drink after leaving. Xander remarks that Eric would believe him since he’s one of his enablers. Eric brings up Brady telling him about his run in with Brian, who claimed to be from his AA meetings, and how he scratched his hand with his ring when they shook hands, then next thing Brady is blacked out at home. Xander questions what Eric is implying. Eric responds that he’s straight up calling him out and says he knows what Xander did. Eric declares that Xander took a page out of Victor’s playbook and hired a thug to do his dirty work. Xander questions Eric thinking he hired some mystery man to shake Brady’s hand and roofie him with a poisoned ring. Xander asks if Eric is delusional. Eric insists that he knows Xander had something to do with it and he intends to prove it. Xander questions what exactly he thinks they had planned for Brady. Eric suggests maybe Xander planned on killing Brady but Jada showed up in time to stop him from doing it. Xander argues that Sarah remembers Brady hitting her, so whatever he was doing at his house is beside the point. Eric warns Xander that messing with his family is messing with him. Xander asks if he’s threatening him when Brady is the reason that his wife might be stuck in a wheelchair for the rest of her life. Xander yells at Eric to get the hell out so Eric walks out of the office.

Brady questions Kristen’s plan being to make Sarah disappear. Kristen points out that it wouldn’t be the first time and says if Brady says the word, she could have Sarah on the DiMera island by tomorrow or she could take a page from Connie and set off a bomb. Brady tells her no and asks her to stay out of this to let justice take it’s course. Kristen apologizes but says she couldn’t keep that promise. Kristen insists that she and Rachel need him. Kristen declares that she loves Brady and will do whatever it takes to save him. Brady tries to stop her but Kristen leaves the room.

Fiona tells Sarah that she hasn’t heard her say before that she wants Brady to pay for what he did. Sarah admits that she hadn’t wanted to since he didn’t do it intentionally, but the more she thinks about it, she does believe that if someone drives drunk, they should be punished to some extent. Sarah adds that Brady hit her and left her there, not knowing if she was alive or dead. Fiona knows they haven’t known each other very long, but she hopes she knows how much she means to her. Fiona adds that if not for Sarah, she would’ve never come to Salem, reconciled with her son, or met her granddaughter. Fiona tells Sarah that she loves her and she’s like a daughter to her as they hug.

Tate tells Sophia that she doesn’t have to take the blame for what happened as he saw Holly hit her. Holly questions Tate taking her side. Sophia admits that she should’ve stayed out of it but says she just got so mad about what Holly did to Tate and Brady and says she feels so bad for Tate. Holly calls her unbelievable and asks if Tate is buying this crap. Sophia adds that when she called out Holly for what she did, she went off on her and slapped her. Holly yells at her to tell him what she really said but Tate tells her that’s enough and to stop as she’s caused enough damage for one day. Tate brings up that Brady thinks EJ is manipulating Holly but he thinks he’s wrong. Tate declares that he’s done. Holly asks what he means and if he is breaking up with her as Sophia watches on with a smile. Holly asks Tate if it’s just over between them then. Holly calls Tate a coward and says she’ll save him the trouble. Holly declares that they are over and tells Tate and Sophia to have a happy life together as they totally deserve each other. Holly says goodbye to Tate and storms off.

Sarah thanks Fiona for her kind words and says she loves her too. Sarah says what they talked about earlier needs to stay between them as no one can know. Fiona says she understands completely and calls it their little secret. Eric then appears in the bushes and sees them together.

Xander opens his desk drawer and pulls out his gun, commenting that Eric better hope the justice system works fast or else he’ll have no choice but to take matters into his own hands.

EJ enters the interrogation room. Brady questions what he wants and complains that there’s no need to interrogate him anymore, so he tells him to get the hell out. EJ reminds him that he doesn’ tell him what to do. EJ mentions seeing that Kristen was there to see him and hopes she didn’t fill his head with hope. EJ tells Brady that he has him dead to rights as thanks to Sarah’s statement, there isn’t anything Kristen can do to spare him spending the next 20 or more years in prison.

Kristen goes home to the DiMera Mansion and talks to the portrait of Stefano, commenting that she knows John Black was Stefano’s sworn enemy, but John’s son Brady really is a good man and the father of her child. Kristen cries that she loves Brady with all her heart and because Stefano loved her, she knows that if he were here, he would help her save Brady. Kristen adds that now EJ has Sarah’s statement and there is nothing she can do to get Brady out of this without a miracle. Kristen is then shocked when Dr. Rolf emerges from the DiMera tunnels.

The head of the hospital Seth Burns goes to Kayla’s office and questions the proposal to use the hospital as a set for a soap opera and declares his answer is absolutely not.

Johnny joins Alex and Chanel at the studio and asks if they talked to Kate. They confirm they did and said they didn’t want to do the love scene as they believe it’s too soon for their characters, but Chanel reveals that Kate said their arguing just reminded her of how sparks fly when they are together so the love scene is still on. Johnny doesn’t understand. Chanel thought they made a compelling case to Kate. Alex says apparently not because the scenes are still on.

In the town square, Kate asks Abe if he talked to Leo. Abe confirms that he did and he was surprised there was no pushback as Leo is making the changes they requested. Abe adds that Bonnie is getting her rewrites as they speak, so he just hopes there’s no blood shed. Kate jokes that if there is, maybe they can catch it on camera. Kate adds that she’s beginning to understand what people say about how all the drama behind the scenes on a soap opera could be a show on it’s own.

At the Brady Pub, Bonnie questions Leo killing her character off from Body and Soul. Leo tells her it’s nothing personal and praises her while Bonnie questions why she’s being fired. Leo insists it has nothing to do with her and it’s just storyline dictated. Bonnie disagrees and blames Hattie.

Abe tells Kate that he knew it would be crazy but not before they even shoot their first scene. Kate hopes he’s not having second thoughts. Abe assures that he loves what they are doing. They talk about the casting process. Abe states that it’s over now and once Hattie gave that ultimatum, the decision had to be made. Kate hopes it’s the right one.

Kayla argues that last time they spoke, Seth was excited about the prospect. Seth says he was until he read the numbers and points out the expenses of shooting a TV show. Kayla doesn’t think he read the full proposal and points out that the show has their own liability insurance, so the hospital is covered any time they shoot there. Seth adds what a disruption it would be to their operation. Kayla explains that the show will be shot on the fifth floor wing that is completely vacant, so there would be virtually no crossover between fiction and reality and the patients won’t even know what’s going on. Kayla reminds Seth that the city gave them credits, so it would pay for itself and then some. Seth says on paper maybe. Kayla argues that Seth said they needed to come up with innovative budget solutions, so this might be their answer. Kayla declares that Body and Soul might just save them.

Bonnie tells Leo to admit that this is because of Hattie. Leo calls it more complicated than that. Bonnie argues that Hattie already told her about her ultimatum and she can’t believe they gave in to her outrageous demands. Hattie insists that her character Charlemagne is the star of the show and guesses they all agreed it was more important to keep her on the show, but Leo says not exactly. Bonnie complains that Leo got bullied by Hattie and didn’t have the guts to stand up to her. Bonnie declares that Justin is her agent and won’t let them get away with this. Bonnie calls Justin and tells him that she won’t believe what just happened as she storms out of the Pub. Hattie remarks that she doesn’t blame Bonnie for being mad, but she does blame her for being impossible to work with. Hattie declares that she’s so happy because everything is going her way.

Kate tells Abe that on the subject of problematic talent, Alex and Chanel came to her with an ultimatum of their own. Abe asks what now. Kate explains it wasn’t exactly an ultimatum but they were balking at the sex scenes as they feel their characters wouldn’t be doing that this soon. Kate admits there was merit to their argument but she wasn’t about to ask Leo to do more rewrites when they all have enough on their plate. Abe asks about the status of the hospital. Kate informs him that she just got a text from Kayla that she’s following up with Seth Burns as they speak.

Seth tells Kayla that his first thought was how much free publicity they would get for the hospital, but then he watched Body and Soul and it occurred to him that it’s not portrayed in the best light. Kayla argues that the hospital would never be mentioned and there would be no bad publicity at all. Kayla asks what other objections he could have. Seth then agrees to change his mind and allow Body and Soul to shoot at the hospital, on one condition.

Jada works in the interrogation room at the police station as Stephanie arrives. Jada says Rafe will be returning to his office soon, so she figured she would start clearing her stuff out. Jada mentions that she didn’t mind being in charge but she hated the reason for it. Jada asks if everything is okay. Stephanie says she just wanted to come thank her for letting her know the truth about Everett. Stephanie is relieved that he turned out to be innocent, but she feels terrible for ever believing the fake suicide note. Jada feels since she’s a cop, she should’ve figured it out. Stephanie points out that Jada did feel something was off. Jada says it just seemed impossible that someone could forge that but it turns out Connie was some criminal genius. Jada remarks that Connie is in Bayview now where she belongs. Jada apologizes for not coming to tell Stephanie in person so she wouldn’t be alone when she found out. Stephanie then reveals that she wasn’t alone as Alex was there.

Chanel explains that because Leo had to rewrite all the scenes with Bonnie and Hattie, Kate said there is no time for rewrites. Johnny thought they would’ve at least considered a rewrite if all three of them had an issue with it. Alex comments on understanding why Johnny would have a bigger issue with it since he wouldn’t want his hands all over his wife. Johnny argues that he didn’t say that and he only said the sex scene was too soon and not good for the show. Alex thinks it’s a little bit more than that, insisting that it has to be uncomfortable for him. Alex says the last thing he’d want is for the woman he loves to even be faking it with another guy. Johnny decides he’s not talking to him about this. Alex says he’s just trying to help and declares that he thinks he has a solution but asks Johnny not to get upset or take it the wrong way. Alex then suggests maybe they should just get another director for the love scenes.

Jada asks Stephanie about Alex being with her when she called and says she didn’t mention that they were spending time together again. Stephanie says it’s hard not to since they are neighbors, informing Jada that Alex moved back in down the hall. Stephanie adds that she’s doing PR work for Body and Soul and Alex is on the show, so they’ve been running in to each other a lot. Jada asks if that’s weird given their history. Stephanie insists that it isn’t because their relationship is completely behind them and they are just friends now, so that’s how they want to keep it. Jada asks if she’s sure about that.

Alex feels it seems pretty basic to him if Johnny is not comfortable with he and Chanel having a love scene, that they just have someone else direct it, and then Johnny comes back for the rest. Johnny laughs off the idea and says he’s not going to tell Abe and Kate that he’s incapable of directing a love scene with his wife. Chanel knows Johnny is capable, will do it, and everything will be fine. Johnny then gets a call from Abe, who informs him that there’s a schedule change as they are no longer shooting at the Pub this morning, so he needs to get to the hospital ASAP. Abe adds that Leo just did a slew of rewrites so he will see him later on set. Abe hangs up and then runs in to Leo, so he asks about the rewrites and how they received. Leo responds that there were tears, legal threats, and theatrics but blood shed was barely avoided. Abe remarks that unfortunately, one of them had to go, so now they just have to get through the scenes.

Bonnie goes back in to the Pub while on the phone with Justin. Bonnie cries that she’s not upset with him and she knows he would’ve made it happen if he could. Bonnie says she loves him and will see him later as she hangs up in tears. Hattie approaches and says she couldn’t help but overhear there’s no lawsuit. Bonnie says it’s none of her business but confirms that according to her contract, the producers can let her go at any time and just have to pay what’s left of her guarantee. Hattie encourages that she gets paid for 26 weeks without having to go to work. Bonnie remarks that she doesn’t have to go to work with her anymore. Bonnie adds that she was really looking forward to working with her as she thought it’d be a lot of fun and pictured them having a lot of laughs like the old days. Bonnie says they were going to be a team like when they replaced Marlena and Adrienne, except this time no one was going to get hurt but it was exactly the opposite of what she pictured and someone did get hurt real bad. Bonnie then storms out of the Pub in tears.

Kate goes to see Kayla in her office. Kayla says she was just texting her. Kate hopes for good news and asks if they will be able to tape the show at the hospital. Kayla confirms that Seth approved it. Kate thanks her for making that happen. Kayla says she was happy to do it but reveals that Seth did have a condition that she was forced to accept. Seth then enters the office and greets Kate, presuming that Kayla gave her the good news. Kate confirms she did and thanks Seth for green lighting their proposal. Seth then reveals the condition is that he will now be playing a character on the Body and Soul, the Pine View Hospital Chief of Staff, Dr. Blake Lamore. Kayla clarifies it was the only way to get him to agree. Seth admits he doesn’t have much acting experience. Kate reluctantly congratulates him and says she’s now going to find the original actor for the role to inform him that he’s been replaced. Seth remarks that he better go learn all five of his lines as he exits.

Abe gets a call from Justin and says he knows he’s upset, but he has to give him a chance to explain. Justin hangs up on him. Abe sits with Leo and remarks that he’s been made an awful lot of enemies today. Leo mentions getting an e-mail about Marie Fallon being pregnant and production wanting to change the swarm of killer bees to carbon monoxide. Abe says they can handle those problems another day and asks if he’s finished up the new pages for Cassandra. Leo confirms he has, so Abe says they need to get those to the hospital now and he’ll be right behind him. Leo then walks away as Hattie comes through. Hattie tells Abe that she appreciates all of his support but she’s a little bit surprised. Hattie says she always knew she would come out on top, but she didn’t expect Bonnie’s exit to be quite so final. Abe argues that she is the one who said Pine View wasn’t big enough for the two of them, and he and Kate and agreed. Hattie mentions that she just read the new scenes and says what a way to go.

Bonnie is set up in a hospital bed for her scenes as Johnny arrives and questions why she’s made up like that. Bonnie asks if he hasn’t heard what’s happening to Cassandra. Johnny says he hasn’t had a chance to read the new rewrites. Bonnie reveals that she’s being killed off on her first day. Johnny says he’s so sorry. Bonnie cries about how she worked for hours on her lines and was so proud to be a part of Body and Soul. Bonnie questions why they are doing this to her and how this could happen to her. Bonnie breaks down crying as she hugs Johnny.

Alex comments to Chanel about Johnny having a big problem with the sex scenes. Chanel confirms they had a big fight about it last night. Alex says he’s sorry but he’s sure that Chanel can convince him he has nothing to worry about. Alex points out that Chanel is not a big fan of him and can’t stand him. Chanel admits that’s actually not completely true.

Stephanie jokes with Jada about reading her rights as she repeats that she and Alex are just friends, but when she got Everett’s ashes, she was pretty upset and she impulsively kissed Alex but Alex put the brakes on it right away. Jada jokes that it sounds unlike him. Stephanie explains that Alex is still getting over Theresa and she’s still getting over Everett, so he doesn’t want to do anything that could ruin their friendship again. Jada asks how she feels about that. Stephanie doesn’t want to ruin their friendship either, but admits she’s been having some thoughts. Stephanie says it doesn’t matter since Alex is not in the same place, which is for the best. Stephanie feels she needs to take a break from relationships as she told herself that after Chad but then started spending time with Everett. Stephanie worries that she’s going on and keeping Jada from running the police department. Jada assures that she’s on break and there for her any time she needs to talk. Stephanie says she’s there for her too. Jada is sure that she and Alex will figure it out. Stephanie mentions having to get going to the Body and Soul set, so they hug and then Stephanie exits.

Alex asks Chanel if she can stand him. Chanel admits she can because sometimes, he’s not so bad. Alex jokes that he likes her a small percent of the time too. Chanel jokes about them bonding. Alex says they used to be good friends back in the day, so maybe if they could back to that for work, it might be less of a nightmare. Alex admits he’d like to get back to that. Chanel admits she’s been a bit hostile in making him feel bad for what happened to Allie which wasn’t really his fault. Chanel says that she and Allie obviously weren’t meant to be. Chanel adds that she could use one less stresser in her life, so she suggests they try to see the best in each other and get along. Alex assures that he’s all for that, but jokes that hopefully their on-screen chemistry won’t fizzle out because of it. Alex then gets a text from Leo that he’s adding another scene for him, but guesses not for Chanel. Alex decides he will head to the hospital now and see her on set as he then exits.

Kate finds Abe at the hospital and tells him that every time they put out a fire, another one comes up. Kate says it’s nothing major and she handled it, but it’s good to know she has backup. Abe is sure things will get better once they get in to the groove. Kate worries that this whirlwind may never end.

Johnny asks Bonnie if she needs a minute but she says there’s no sense in dragging this out. Johnny then announces they are ready to roll, so everyone exits the room and Johnny begins directing Bonnie as Cassandra in her hospital bed while Seth as Dr. Blake enters to inform her that she has a visitor. Hattie then enters as Charlemagne to ask her what happened. Cassandra explains that she contracted a fatal disease. Charlemagne cries that she’s going to miss her as Johnny then ends the scene.

Stephanie enters the Brady Pub, not knowing about the rewrites, and looks around wondering where everyone is.

Chanel decides to read some of the upcoming script, describing her and Alex’s characters about to make mad, passionate love. Chanel says to wait until Johnny sees this.

Johnny congratulates Bonnie and Hattie on bringing the emotion to their scene. Johnny then gets the last few pages sent in from Leo. Johnny asks if they want to rehearse before going ahead, noting that Leo said Hattie is done with the scene so they only need Seth and Bonnie. Hattie tells Bonnie that she hopes she gets a fabulous sendoff party and she’ll be there. Hattie wishes Bonnie well, even if she does hate her guts at the moment which Bonnie confirms. Hattie then exits as Johnny begins directing the next scene. Seth questions some of the rewrites while Johnny explains that they are due to the budget. Johnny then calls for Alex to enter as Arrow, who informs Cassandra that she is not going to die as they embrace.

Kate returns to Kayla’s office. Kayla asks how it is going on set. Kate says it’s very smoothly and jokes that they could still write Kayla a cameo which Kayla declines. Kate thanks her for changing Seth’s mind. Kayla says that Seth does love being the center of attention and jokes that now she can get rid of him for a few hours a week. Kayla adds that she does feel bad about Bonnie. Kate tells her to stay tuned because not everything is as it appears and there’s always a twist…

Johnny continues directing a scene where Arrow presents Cassandra with a flower that will save her life. Bonnie stops the scene to question if this means she’s not getting killed off after all which excites her.

Leo joins Abe at the hospital. Abe appreciates his speed and thanks him for getting the pages done so quickly. Abe adds that he also appreciates his discretion. Leo understands why he didn’t want anyone to see those pages until after Hattie and Bonnie filmed their final scenes together. Hattie comes by, so Leo asks how the scene went with Bonnie. Hattie says it went okay and then admits she feels kind of sad that Bonnie is getting fired. Abe is glad to hear that as he reveals that Bonnie is not the one being killed off, Hattie is.

Johnny has a nightmare about filming Alex and Chanel’s love scene where they won’t stop kissing after he says to cut, then he wakes up in a panic.

Chanel goes to Paulina’s home to use her shower, telling her that Johnny is crazy jealous of Alex and she’s not going to put up with it.

Alex goes to Stephanie’s apartment, causing Stephanie to remember dreaming about Alex. Stephanie asks if everything is okay. Alex says he just felt bad for keeping her up late, so he brought her coffee. Alex feels like he barely slept as he spent the night stressing about the show, which is why he came back as he needs some advice from a communications pro about how to tell his producers they are making a big mistake.

Abe joins Kate at the Body and Soul studio. They talk about today being the first day of shooting. Kate tells Abe that Roman talked to Kayla about using the hospital as a set and she’s on the case. Abe says he first has some not so good news as one of their lead actors is causing problems, so they need to come up with a solution soon.

Bonnie goes to Leo’s room at the Salem Inn. Leo says he didn’t sleep last night so it’s not a good time. Bonnie demands to know where her rewrites are that she asked for, saying there is no way she’s doing Hattie’s new scenes. Leo informs her that he didn’t rewrite anymore or change any of Hattie’s scenes.

Hattie goes to the Brady Pub which is set up as a shooting location for Body and Soul. Roman greets her as Hattie excitedly talks about doing a real television show in the Pub. Hattie declares they will be putting on a real, live soap opera.

Bonnie questions Leo not making any of the changes she asked for. Leo suggests she be professional, learn the part as written, and think about how lucky she is to be a working actor. Bonnie guesses Hattie got to him to convince him not to make the changes. Leo says that Hattie had nothing to do with it, but Abe told him not to make the changes and he is his boss so he defers to him on all matters related to Body and Soul. Bonnie tells Leo that doesn’t work for her.

Abe informs Kate that Bonnie is not Hattie’s favorite person. Kate says the feeling is apparently mutual and talks about when they both picked the same dress for the photoshoot. Abe tells Kate that Hattie gave him the ultimatum that either Bonnie goes or she goes. Kate admits she was afraid that was going to happen and asks Abe’s thoughts on that. Abe has no doubts that Hattie was serious, so they have no choice but to lose one or the other.

Stephanie asks what Alex needs to talk to Abe and Kate about. Alex explains that last night, he and Chanel got their new pages for the scenes they are filming this week including Faith and Arrow’s first sex scene. Stephanie asks what the problem is. Alex argues that the sex scene on the first week of the show doesn’t make sense since they are supposed to be star-crossed lovers so it is supposed to seem like they hate each other and everything is getting in their way of being together. Alex questions who will want to keep watching if they are already together. Stephanie calls that an excellent point and asks if she talked to Chanel about it. Alex confirms that he has and she actually agreed with him for once.

Chanel tells Paulina about her argument with Johnny about her and Alex and how insulted she felt when Johnny brought up her past with Alex. Chanel feels Johnny doesn’t trust her and that’s hurtful. Paulina responds that she gets why Johnny is jealous and she doesn’t blame him.

Kate asks if Abe really thinks Hattie will quit if they don’t fire Bonnie, wondering if it’s possible that she’s bluffing. Abe asks what Kate thinks. Kate admits she doesn’t think it’s a bluff. Abe states that Hattie is holding all the cards here and they have to face that Charlemagne is the star of the show. Kate questions if she is or if she’s just Abe’s favorite character. Abe brings up the research that audiences love her. Kate argues that Cassandra is popular also. Abe says the fans love it when they are sparring, but Hattie is threatening to quit. Kate guesses it makes more sense to fire Bonnie which Abe agrees with. Kate says to imagine what they could do on the first day of taping after the mess at the photoshoot.

Hattie tells Roman that the Pub looks great. Roman talks about Body and Soul being on a tight budget and offering the Pub as a favor to Kate. Roman understands Kate will use his staff as extras so they won’t miss any days of pay. Hattie calls it a win-win all the way around, adding that she’s getting a pretty big win herself thanks to Abe.

Leo admits to Bonnie that he made some changes for Hattie but that was it for rewrites, arguing that they don’t have time to keep reworking scenes like a movie. Leo says they are under the gun time wise and have to produce an entire show in one day. Bonnie says she knows how everything has to go so fast so Leo says she should understand then. Leo then brings up the problems that Johnny is having, arguing that hot young couples have sex and fall in love on soap operas all the time and that’s what the audience is tuning in for. Leo remarks that Johnny is just going to have to grin and bear it.

Chanel questions Paulina not blaming Johnny for being jealous and asks if she thinks she actually wants to have a sex scene with Alex. Paulina brings up Chanel’s past fling with Alex, so she doesn’t blame Johnny for thinking Chanel could still have an attraction to Alex and seeing this as a hall pass type situation. Chanel argues that Johnny is the one who urged her to take this job and a job is exactly what this is. Paulina thinks Chanel needs to keep telling him that since he obviously needs some reassurance. Johnny then shows up at the door.

Stephanie tells Alex that if he and Chanel both have a problem with the scene, the best way to have it changed would be to work together. Alex agrees and decides to text Chanel to suggest they meet at Kate’s office. Stephanie gets a call from Jada and steps aside to answer it, asking what’s going on. Stephanie says she hasn’t seen the news and asks what she means that they were wrong. Stephanie is shocked and thanks Jada for telling her. Stephanie says they will talk later and hangs up. Alex asks if everything is okay. Stephanie cries that she can’t believe it as she informs Alex that Jada just told her that Everett didn’t kill himself, but he was murdered.

Abe tells Kate that he’s open to all options. Kate says to play devil’s advocate, if they give in to Hattie’s ultimatum and fire Bonnie, she thinks they are setting a dangerous precedent and letting one actor fire another so she worries about how long it could be before Hattie demands creative control. Abe suggests they could make it clear that it’s only one time. Kate asks about when the other actors find out and start making their requests. Abe admits she’s right that they can’t let that happen and they can’t let production be derailed by two angry actresses. Kate agrees that they need to nip it in the bud before it all gets out of control.

Bonnie tells Leo that she feels for Johnny as she has tangled with jealousy as well. Bonnie argues that she wants to protect her character Cassandra, so she will not have her humiliated by Charlemagne. Leo admires and appreciates her dedication to her craft, but says she has to take it up with Abe and Kate. Bonnie decides she will on the set today. Leo says he supports whatever decision they make as he hurries Bonnie out the door.

Stephanie informs Alex that it wasn’t Everett who stabbed Rafe and he didn’t die by suicide as it was Connie who attacked Rafe and poisoned Everett/Bobby, then forged the suicide note. Stephanie can’t believe she invited Connie to Everett’s funeral when she’s the one who killed him. Stephanie cries that every time she thinks she’s starting to heal, it’s like losing him all over again. Alex says he’s so sorry and hugs her as she cries. Alex tells her it’s okay. Stephanie says she’s sorry and that he should go since he needs to talk to Kate. Alex asks if she’s sure she’s okay. Stephanie responds that she’ll be fine and that she should call Jada back. Stephanie wishes him luck with his conversation. Alex thanks her and tells her to call if she needs anything. Stephanie says he’ll be working but Alex says that doesn’t matter as she is more important. Alex tells her that he will see her on set as he then exits.

Chanel asks what Johnny is doing there. Johnny says he got her note and questions her moving out of the house after one fight. Paulina asks if that’s what is happening here. Chanel argues that she just came to take a shower. Johnny thinks it’s about more than that. Chanel explains that she thought they could use space after last night. Johnny tells her that she was right in everything she said, admitting he overreacted. Johnny knows the photoshoot was all just part of the job, but when he saw her with her hands all over Alex, it brought up a lot of stuff that he didn’t know was there and he lost it for a second. Johnny tells Chanel that he’s truly sorry and asks if she can forgive him.

Roman sits with Hattie at the Pub and they go over her lines for Body and Soul. Roman jokes that it’s some pretty steamy stuff. Bonnie then enters, so Hattie questions what she’s doing there. Bonnie responds that she works on this set but Hattie argues that she’s supposed to be fired.

Chanel has Johnny promise not to get freaked out again and that he’s okay with her being an actor with a love interest. Johnny says he just wants her to shine. Chanel guesses she can forgive him. Paulina is relieved as Johnny hugs Chanel. Chanel then informs Johnny that he won’t have to direct her and Alex in a love scene this week as they are going to talk to Kate about it being too soon for Faith and Arrow to have sex. Johnny says if that’s what she wants. Chanel reiterates that he won’t have to worry about directing them in a sex scene any time soon.

Alex goes to the Body and Soul studio and asks Kate if she has a minute. Alex mentions that he wanted to wait for Chanel but she’s not around, so Kate tells him they don’t have time to wait. Alex brings up the love scene but Kate tells him to grow up, arguing that he and Chanel both said they could get past their history. Alex says it’s not that. Kate brings up the heat at the photoshoot and questions what the problem is. Alex explains that Faith and Arrow are supposed to be star-crossed lovers so he questions them already having sex at the beginning of their story. Kate says they wanted to start the show with a bang. Alex thinks they should hold off on that and make the viewers wait. Alex says if it’s okay, he and Chanel would like to not do that scene.

Abe goes to Leo’s room and says he wanted to talk to him about Bonnie and Hattie. Leo mentions that Bonnie was just there again, demanding rewrites, but he told her that Abe instructed him not to do any more changes. Abe worries that Bonnie will now be waiting for him at the set. Leo asks what he’s going to tell her. Abe responds that he and Kate talked it over, so Bonnie is going to get rewrites but not the ones that she thought she was getting.

Bonnie questions Hattie demanding the producers fire her. Hattie complains that she makes her crazy. Hattie tells Bonnie to be a team player and a good sport. Roman calls Kate as Hattie and Bonnie argue. Bonnie calls Hattie a big pain in the behind while Hattie argues that she’s the star of the show. Roman interrupts their fighting, telling them to drop the egos and be professional.

Paulina brings Johnny coffee as they sit together. Johnny apologizes for bringing her in to their mess. Paulina says it’s okay as she’s just glad they worked it out. Johnny admits he’s not proud of how he acted last night. Paulina admits he went too far but she gets it and says if she saw Abe on set in a bed with someone he shared one with before, it would’ve stirred strong feelings within her too. Johnny says it really did take him by surprise since he is the one who encouraged Chanel to audition for the show and he trusts her. Johnny thought he would be cool with it until he wasn’t. Paulina notes that it is a little bit more complicated than usual because of Chanel’s past with Alex. Paulina reminds Johnny that he is the one that Chanel chose and married, so he should be secure in that and proud of her.

Kate questions Alex and Chanel talking about getting rid of the sex scene. Alex confirms they did at the photoshoot last night. Chanel then walks in and questions Alex already being there as she thought he was going to wait for her. Alex tries to explain but Chanel guesses that he decided to handle it on his own and asks what she missed. Kate tells Chanel what Alex told her about them thinking the sex scene was too soon. Chanel agrees and asks if they can postpone it.

Leo tells Abe that he did not see this coming and asks if he’s sure about this. Abe confirms that he and Kate decided it was the best solution so he needs him to get to work on these new rewrites. Leo reminds him that once this is done, there is no going back. Abe declares this is the hand they’ve been dealt, so they will just have to play it.

Bonnie complains that Hattie is the one being unprofessional while Hattie argues that Bonnie has been telling everyone she’s the best actress who ever lived. Roman continues trying to stop them from arguing, telling them they are being foolish. Roman reminds them how lucky they are to be leads on a TV show and how hard Kate and Abe worked to rescue the show. Roman warns that if they keep this up, they will risk derailing the entire project so they both need to stop the ultimatums. Bonnie blames Hattie but Roman doesn’t want to hear it. Roman tells them that whether they like it or not, they are in this together and the show needs them both. Roman instructs them to shake hands and figure out a way to make this work. Bonnie offers her hand but Hattie declares that Pine View isn’t big enough for the both of them.

Stephanie goes to Paulina’s, who says she’s not even her first or second unexpected visitor this morning. Stephanie wanted to drop off the bios of the members in her new housing task force. Paulina points out that she asked for those awhile ago. Stephanie apologizes for not getting it done sooner as it’s been a tough few weeks personally and she’s been busy with Body and Soul. Paulina admits that she would usually chew her out for letting her down, but because it’s Abe’s show, she can give her a pass. Stephanie mentions it being a lot more complicated than she thought and asks how Abe is doing. Paulina says Abe is fine, but this morning she had to referee an argument between Chanel and Johnny about some steamy love scene. Stephanie mentions that she got an earful from Alex about it. Paulina asks what he said about it. Stephanie explains that Alex didn’t want to do it and was going to talk to Kate about it this morning, so hopefully he and Chanel can work something out.

Johnny joins Alex and Chanel at the studio and asks if they talked to Kate. They confirm they did and said they didn’t want to do the love scene as they believe it’s too soon for their characters, but Chanel reveals that Kate said their arguing just reminded her of how sparks fly when they are together so the love scene is still on.

Kate and Abe meet in the town square. Kate tells Abe that she already put out the first fire of the day and now she’s headed to the set. Kate asks Abe if he talked to Leo. Abe confirms that he did and he was surprised there was no pushback as Leo is making the changes they requested. Abe adds that Bonnie is getting her rewrites as they speak.

Roman declares that he tried and tells Bonnie and Hattie not to kill each other in his restaurant as he walks away. Leo arrives, so Bonnie asks if he decided on the rewrites. Leo reveals that it’s not up to him but he met with Abe and he does have new rewrites. Bonnie says she’s glad they came to their senses but Leo is not sure she will feel that way after reading them. Leo asks her not to shoot the messenger. Bonnie asks what he’s going on about. Leo then shows her the new script leading to Bonnie being shocked to learn that they are killing her character off the show.
