Steffy: Don’t listen to her!

Sheila: We are connected forever. I feel it in my heart, in my very soul and I know that you do, too.

Steffy: Finn. Finn, please just–just look at me. She’s manipulating you! All we have to do is just walk out of the room and never see her again.

Sheila: Why don’t you ever let finn make his own decisions? Son, I’m begging you. Please don’t turn your back on me. I love you. Just let me be a part of your life.

Quinn: Mm… mm, mm, mm. Well, you never cease to amaze me. This is such a romantic surprise.

Eric: I think there’s one surprise you could’ve done without, isn’t there?

Quinn: Oh, c’mon. Haven’t you heard? Sex is overrated.

Eric: If only.

Quinn: No, c’mon honey. You’ll see. This too shall pass. And I refuse to believe that this E.D. Is permanent. And who knows, maybe tonight is the night that changes everything.

Eric: I’m counting on that.

Ridge: Oh boy. Once again, I’m overdressed. What’re we doin’?

Carter: I spilled coffee all over myself so I’m changing my clothes.

Ridge: Coffee, huh?

Carter: I reached out to the judge about moving up that hearing date for sheila’s restraining order. Waiting to hear back from her.

Ridge: Well, anything you can do is appreciated. Thank you.

Carter: Yeah, I know you’re worried about steffy. I’ll convey the urgency.

Ridge: I am worried. Got sheila running around with some kind of… biological claim on her family. I’m also a little worried about my dad.

Ridge: I’m trying to get used to the idea that my dad forgave quinn and took her back.

Carter: I was caught off guard, too. But I’m guessing no one’s more surprised than quinn, right?

Ridge: She should be surprised after what she did…

Carter: Look, I genuinely want what’s best for those two. Eric and quinn love each other deeply. They belong together.

Eric: A dance, my love?

Quinn: Ooh.

Eric: Right this way.

[ Romantic music ] Now you spin.

[ Quinn laughing ]

[ Quinn moaning ]

Quinn: Is everything okay?

Eric: What could be wrong? Dancing here with my beautiful wife. And make no mistake, your beauty is incomparable.

[ Quinn scoffing ]

Steffy: I get why this is hard for you! Sheila is your birth mother and you don’t want to shut her out. But you have another family, another family who needs to be protected from her!

Sheila: I am not a threat! Not to steffy! Not to the kids! I just want to know my son and my grandson!

Dr. Griffith: Everything all right in here?

Finn: Uh yeah, it’s under control, dr. Griffith. Do you have the results?

Dr. Griffith: Your tests and blood work came back normal. No dehydration. Good news, ms. Carter. You appear to be fine. I’ll have the nurse get your discharge started.

Sheila: Thank you, doctor.

[ Steffy laughing ]

Steffy: You see? She’s fine! There was nothing wrong with her to begin with! Sheila played you, finn. Oh, she played you. Some people have joint pain,

Carter: So, you don’t buy it? You don’t believe that eric and quinn love each other?

Ridge: After everything that went down, no. I’m not buying any of it.

Carter: But see, that’s it. That’s how the whole thing went down. Look, I was messed up after zoe, quinn was reeling from eric’s rejection, ridge. That’s how this happened. That was the perfect storm.

Ridge: Hey, why don’t we do this. Why don’t we see what happens tonight. Dad has planned something special for her. He’s a master of romance. So, we’ll see. Hey, I learned from him believe it or not.

Carter: Did you learn from him?

Ridge: Yeah.

Carter: Hm.

Ridge: Let’s get on with your night. Keep your shirt on.

Carter: I’ll try.

[ Phone ding ]

Eric: Sorry to leave you even for a moment. Something I had to take care of.

Quinn: No problem.

Eric: You admiring your portrait, are ya?

Well, I can’t help it.

Eric: No reason you should have to. I know how significant it is to you.

Quinn: Every time I look at that portrait, it just– it reminds me of how far I’ve come. I mean, I am married to mr. Eric forrester. I get to call this beautiful mansion my home. My jewelry line is successful beyond my wildest dreams, and… it’s all because of you. ‘Cause you love me. ‘Cause you opened your heart to me. I know you’re going through a really challenging time right now, but you know you’re not alone. I’m your wife. And I will always be right here, by your side.

Eric: My beautiful quinn.

Quinn: I love you… with every ounce of my being. And there is not one challenge out there that we can’t face together.

Eric: When you say it, I believe it.

Quinn: Yeah! You should believe it. You should. Eric, I know I’ve hurt you in the past, I have let you down. That’s never gonna happen again. My commitment to you is 1000%

Eric: I know that now, more than ever.

[ Quinn moaning ]

Sheila: I just, I wish there were something that I could say or do that would put a dent- in this hostility that you’re directing towards me.

Steffy: You can make it go away altogether. Leave and never come back.

Finn: Steffy.

Steffy: She’s a liar. This whole collapse– it was–it was a hoax. You realize that?

Finn: I don’t want to argue about that right now. I’m just glad that sheila’s okay.

Sheila: You know, your concern means a lot to me. It shows me that you do care about what happens to me.

Finn: I realize I owe you both an answer… from earlier. There’s only one thing I can do. Only one decision I can make.

Hey look at this!

Finn: I don’t know if your collapse was real or if you faked it. I mean, I certainly hope you didn’T. I’m glad you’re okay.

Sheila: You’re a compassionate man and I am so proud to call you my son.

Finn: When you told me you were my birth mother, I’d never been more shocked, or unprepared. I’ve wondered about you since dad and li told me I was adopted. What was your name? Did I look like you? Why couldn’t you keep me? I had so many questions that I never thought would be explained to me and then suddenly, there you were. Telling me things that I wanted to know. You gave me up so I would have chances in life that you weren’t equipped to give me. It was overwhelming, to say the least. You’ve had a profound impact on me and I’m glad we met. But my commitment is with steffy and our family. I wish you the best but I can’t have a relationship with you, not with my wife so against it. I’m sorry, but I can’t see you again, sheila. And you can’t be a grandmother to my son.

Sheila: No, you…

[ Voice breaking ] You don’t mean that, please finn. I… don’t shut me out. You and hayes are my family.

Finn: I wish you the best. I mean that.

Sheila: You can change his mind.

Steffy: Yeah, why would I do that?

Sheila: Because I’m his mother. Please, steffy. I didn’t come here to do battle with you. I’m not a bad person. I have goodness and love in my heart if you would just– just meet me in the middle, somewhere. Just give me a chance. Please, I will show you that I mean you no harm. I just want to know my son and my grandson.

Steffy: Goodbye, sheila.

[ Grunting ]

Quinn: Hey. I know it’s difficult but I don’t want you to worry. We’re gonna get through this.

Eric: You so beautifully expressed your devotion to me, but we have to be realistic. You’re a young, vibrant, sexy woman and you have needs that I may no longer be able to fulfill. Things that can only be expressed by making love.

Quinn: I don’t want you to think that way. C’mon, who knows what the future’s gonna hold! And no doctor has said this condition is permanent. Stop putting extra pressure on yourself by worrying about my needs. I’m happy, eric. Just being with you makes me happy.

Eric: Your happiness and your well-being are always gonna be my concern.

[ Door opening ]

Quinn: Carter. What are you doing here?

Carter: I got a text from eric.

Eric: I asked carter to join us. Don’t settle for products that give you a sort of white smile.

Quinn: You asked carter to join us?

Eric: Yes, yes, I did.

Carter: Looks like you were enjoying a lovely evening. I don’t want to intrude.

Eric: No, no intrusion. I know how close the two of you have become.

Carter: I’m sorry… where are we going with this?

Quinn: Nowhere. We’re not going anywhere with this. It stops here. Eric, you and I are back together. Why–why are we bringing up something so painful when we’ve already moved past it?

Eric: I didn’t ask carter here to rehash the past. You’re absolutely right. We’ve moved beyond that. My beautiful wife has moved home and she’s here in this house, with me. But I’m not able to be the husband to quinn that she deserves.

Quinn: Eric.

Eric: Look, this is, um. This is not a comfortable subject for me to talk about. I’ve seen doctors and so far, it’s been unsuccessful and, um–

Carter: You’re sick? I was concerned something was wrong. I asked quinn but she didn’t tell me.

Eric: No, no, no. Of course, she wouldn’T. And I love her for that.

Quinn: Why are you doing this?

Eric: At first, I tried to blame quinn for my shortcomings but I realized what I was really doing was just… covering my shame. I’m not able to satisfy my wife. You see what I mean, don’t you?

Carter: Yes… yes, and wow, um. I don’t know what to say, eric, but I’m sorry.

Eric: I was hoping for a spontaneous breakthrough when quinn moved home but unfortunately that hasn’t happened.

Quinn: Eric, why are you telling carter this?

Eric: Because I’ve come to the conclusion that just because my sex life is over, doesn’t mean yours has to be.

Steffy: Hayes goes down so much easier than kelly did at that age. So nice.

Finn: That age? She still fights it with everything she’s got.

Steffy: Yeah, and then all of a sudden she just passes out.

Finn: Should I open some wine?

Steffy: Oh babe, please. That sounds so great. Oh my goodness.

[ Finn sighing ]

Finn: I need to apologize again to you for sending that emoji to sheila. It was an impulse and I followed it. I mean, I should never have responded at all.

Steffy: I’m glad you realize that now.

Finn: I…I truly believed that she was out of our lives. That’s why I didn’t tell you. I thought it was one and done and I didn’t want to worry needlessly. I know now that was the wrong call.

Steffy: Well, you can’t beat yourself up. You were in a terrible position. And I get it, you wanted to know your mother. You were curious and that’s a completely normal reaction but, sheila is far from normal. I mean, faking a fall like that? That just proves that she hasn’t changed. She’s still this twisted, obsessive woman. But I am glad that you put your foot down, and you told her that she couldn’t be in your life, or hayes’. We still need to be vigilant. We have to keep our guard up. She doesn’t just walk away quietly. But you did the right thing breaking ties with her. And I’m really proud that you put our family first.

Finn: Always.

Sheila: Boy, it would be a mistake to count me out.

[ Grunting ] The forresters! They all write me off. They– they throw me away like I’m trash. But I will be a part of this family. Finn is my son and hayes is my grandson and I will be a part of their lives. And you better not try to stop me, steffy, or you’re gonna pay. You’re gonna pay dearly.

[ Dramatic music ]

Sheila: Can you see it now?

Steffy: It’s not what it looks like.

Sheila: It’s a text from finn on my phone.

Steffy: No. No, he wouldn’T.

Sheila: He did. And you tell me that I’m never going to be a part of finn’s life, but my son loves me, steffy. That text proves it. Finn sent me a heart emoji. I am gonna be a part of my son’s life. And there’s nothing you can do to stop that from happening.

Paris: I know you wanna get back to sheila.

Finn: I should. Paris, thank you for coming. And for being here for me.

Paris: Look, I know emergencies are your job but that’s your birth mother in there. I mean, it must have been really upsetting seeing her collapse.

Finn: I feel terrible. I could see she was getting agitated but I was so focused on getting her out of the house, making her leave, telling her to never see me again. That’s when she passed out.

Eric: Finn is bound to feel guilty about this.

Quinn: That’s the point. Classic sheila move.

Ridge: Well, apparently it worked. She’s at the hospital with my son-in-law by her side.

Eric: Exactly what we were afraid of. She’s using finn to worm her way back into our family.

Ridge: Not gonna let that happen.

Eric: I thought we had a restraining order against her.

Ridge: Well, we don’t have it yet.

Carter: Ridge.

Ridge: He’s the guy you wanna talk to about that.

Carter: Talk to me about what?

Ridge: The restraining order against sheila. You realize that every second we don’t have it, she gets her claws deeper and deeper into this family?

Carter: We have a hearing date for the restraining order but if sheila’s done something else–

Quinn: She’s running a game on finn.

Eric: She pretended to faint while he was trying to kick her out of the house.

Carter: She went there again?

Ridge: Of course she went there again. She’s gonna keep going there because she wants to have a relationship with finn. But more than that, she wants to be by my grandson.

[ Sighing ]

Finn: This is not where I thought I would be today, dealing with this. Steffy and I patched things up.

Paris: Wow, that’s great!

Finn: But then as soon as she left for work, sheila showed up and all I could think was “get her out”.

Paris: You can’t blame yourself for this. You are the reason that sheila’s here and she’s getting the care she needs. Even if steffy doesn’t think she really needs it.

Finn: Steffy has every reason not to want sheila in our lives.

Paris: Yes, they have a very complicated history. But we are talking about the woman who gave birth to you.

Finn: And if she was anyone else, I could have a relationship with her, but I’m not going to do that to my wife, to my family. I promised steffy no contact.

Paris: Well, you aren’t the one that invited her to your house. Your dad told her that she could meet hayes and you didn’t even say anything in the text message that you sent to her was just an emoji. Oh. Steffy still doesn’t know about that.

Finn: No. She’s already stressed out about everything else. I’m not gonna upset her even more.

Steffy: This can’t be real. Obviously you made this up.

Sheila: Check– check the text. It came from finn’s phone. Look at again if you need to, steffy. But I was– I was saying goodbye. I was leaving town and then finn texted me that heart showing me that he wanted me to stay. He doesn’t want me to go. He still doesn’T.

Steffy: Why would I believe you? All you do is lie.

Sheila: You want more proof?

Steffy: That doesn’t prove anything.

Sheila: What about today? The way my son took care of me and came to my aid. That tells me more than any text ever could. Does your vitamin c last twenty-four hours?

Ridge: We have to get control of the situation. ‘Cause right now all we’re doing is reacting to whatever sheila does and that’s gonna stop.

Carter: At least we know where she is.

Ridge: Yeah, we know where she is. You know who else is there? Finn and my daughter.

Eric: How long are they gonna be there in the hospital?

Quinn: As long as she’s getting sympathy from her son, the doctor, she’s gonna stay there as long as she can.

Eric: If sheila starts getting desperate, I agree with you. Steffy’s gonna confront her.

Ridge: I like to think my daughter’s smart enough to not put her children in danger.

Eric: Of course she is. I’m more concerned about their relationship. If she’s determined to drive a wedge between finn and steffy.

Quinn: You know, if sheila provokes her, steffy is never going to hold back.

Finn: I should get back in there.

Paris: You gonna be okay?

Finn: Sheila’s stable. The test results will tell us what happened.

Paris: Well, I know she’s gonna be okay because she has the best doctor in the hospital looking out for her. I’m asking about you though, finn. I know you haven’t known her for a very long time but that is your birth mother in there.

Finn: Seeing her go down like that. It shook me up a little.

Paris: I understand. It’s complicated. Being in the middle of a difficult situation like this. But if you ever need someone to talk to, I’m here.

Sheila: The text is from my son.

Steffy: I told you to stop calling him that! He’s my husband and he doesn’t want any contact with you.

Sheila: That’s what you want. You’re trying to lay down the laws saying that he can’t see me or talk to me. But what did he do, huh steffy? I was in trouble and he rushed me to the hospital. He probably saved my life.

Steffy: He did his job. It doesn’t make you special.

Sheila: I am. I am to him.

Steffy: You’re wrong. You’re wrong. You’re just a complication. He knows that you’re not gonna be in our lives, sheila.

Sheila: You just don’t see how this is truly hurting him.

Steffy: You know nothing about my husband.

Sheila: I gave birth to him. He’s a part of me. I’m a part of him.

Steffy: You want him to believe that. You want him to be vulnerable to you. You just keep manipulating him.

Sheila: You’re the one controlling him, not me.

Steffy: I am protecting my family.

Sheila: He’s not afraid of me. Finn didn’t try to chase me out of the house and he put my grandson in my arms. He loves me. He wants me in his life and the sooner you accept that, the better.

Steffy: Is that a threat?

Sheila: This is hurting finn. You have to be seeing that. He is being…

[ Machine beeping faster ] A wonderful husband right now, bowing down to your every unreasonable whim and– finn and I are always going to share a bond. A biological one, but you and your family will never be able to break.

Steffy: You wanna bet? Try coming near me and my family again and see what happens. This twisted fantasy that you have, being in finn’s and hayes’s life, it is not going to happen. It ends now!

Sheila: You forresters. Always telling everybody what to do. And you’ve gotta listen and you’ve gotta do this and it’s my husband and it’s my son. Like I’m not here, like I don’t even exist but I do. They’re my family too and hayes is my grandson!

Steffy: Don’t you dare say his name! Don’t you dare say his name!

[ Loud beeping ]

Paris: Is that–

Steffy: What did you do?

Finn: Mom!

[ Loud beeping ] Your mission:

Eric: I have to believe that finn will do the right thing.

Ridge: Yeah, I wanna believe that too. He loves steffy. He doesn’t wanna disappoint her again, regardless of what game sheila is playing.

Eric: I have to admit that for finn never to see his birth mother again, might seem to him too much of a sacrifice.

Ridge: That’s what you do for someone you love.

[ Phone alert ]

Eric: There’s our meeting in the cutting room. I can postpone–

Ridge: We’re not postponing anything. This woman has disrupted our lives enough as it is. Let’s go.

Eric: I’ll see you later.

Quinn: Steffy will let ridge know if there’s anything really wrong with sheila.

Carter: How are you doing, quinn? Last time we saw each other, I got the sense that something’s going on. Even though you’re back with eric, you can always open up to me. After everything we’ve been through, I’m always gonna care about you.

Steffy: Dr. Griffith said she’s stable.

Finn: Your vitals are normal. How’s your breathing?

Sheila: It’s better. I was just upset.

Finn: You’re supposed to be resting.

Sheila: I know. I was. I woke up and steffy was here and she started attacking me.

Steffy: I never touched you.

Sheila: She said the most terrible things.

Steffy: You see what she’s doing? It’s another one of her manipulations. She isn’t sick.

Finn: I was there when she collapsed, steffy. I called the ambulance. She just had another episode.

Steffy: She just brought you in here to make me look bad. I am telling you, she’s fine.

Sheila: How can I be fine when you tried to cut me out of finn’s and my grandson’s life?

Steffy: You see? You see what she’s doing?

Sheila: Am I not supposed to be upset about that?

Steffy: Have you forgotten all the crimes you’ve committed against my family?

Sheila: That’s not what this is about. It’s about what you saw. Go on. Tell him. Tell finn what you saw on my phone. I am so sorry, but I had to show her that you really did care about me and that if it weren’t for her, I would be a part of your lives. I had to show her the text that you sent me.

Steffy: I told her it wasn’t true. Is it? You promised there would be no contact between you two. Did you send her a heart emoji? Some people have joint pain,

Quinn: Carter, it’s– it’s very kind of you to be concerned.

Carter: Quinn, I’ll never stop thinking about you or being concerned. You know how I feel. How much I love you. How much I miss you. I think about you all the time. But I realize you’re in a different place and honestly I just want you to be happy. I mean, you’re back with eric, you’re back home. That must feel great. And I know eric can’t get enough of you, right?

Carter: Quinn. Look, if there’s something wrong, you can tell me what’s going on.

Quinn: I can’T. I really– I wish I could, but… I miss you. And everything that we had, but I love eric. He’s my husband and I’m 100% committed to him.

Carter: He’s very lucky to have you.

Quinn: Eric loves me very much. He tells me every single day.

Steffy: Did you send sheila that text? I know she lies but is she lying about this?

Finn: No.

Steffy: You replied to her after I told you to have no contact with sheila. Finn!

Finn: She said she was leaving town. I just wanted her to know that I got the message.

Steffy: By sending her a heart?

Finn: Replying “okay”? That seemed a little– I don’t know. But look, I didn’t say anything. And we didn’t communicate.

Steffy: Maybe you didn’t mean to, but by doing that, you let her back in. This woman is more than dangerous. She is evil and what she’s doing to us is evil. I’m not trying to be cruel or unfair right now. I’m trying to protect you and our children. I know that you’ve been thinking about your birth mother. You wanna know her. You wanna help her but you can’t because she’s a sociopath. So that’s why you have to walk away from this. Walk away from this terrible human being.

Sheila: I’m sorry. I am so sorry, finn, honey. I never meant to cause you more trouble.

Steffy: Oh no, don’t listen to her. Please, do not listen to her.

Sheila: I know that you didn’t want steffy to see that text, but she kept saying that all of this was just in my head and that you didn’t care and I know that you do.

Steffy: Stop it! Leave him alone.

Sheila: Look, she’s the one making demands here. Not me. Yes, I’ve done terrible things, things that I do regret. The forrester family, they were attacking me, always and trying to make it so that people didn’t like me, just like steffy is doing right now.

Steffy: Finn, I want her out of our lives. I’m trying to keep our children safe.

Sheila: Please, finn, don’t let her do this. You are my son. And I want to know you. I hated giving you up. And I thought about you everyday. And wondered what you were doing. If you ever thought about me. And I hoped that there would be a day that I’d be able to speak to you. Is that so wrong? Is that a crime? To care for you? For your mother to love you?

Sheila: Because that’s how I feel. And it’s the truth. I love you. I’ve always loved you and I always will. I want to know you. I want to know you. I want to be a part of your life. I want to–I want to know that little boy that I brought into this world. And I think, deep down, that you want to know me too. Please don’t walk out that door. Don’t do it. Don’t leave your mother.

[Monitor beeping steadily]

Steffy: Finn, look at me. I know that it sounds crazy, but she is faking it. It’s an act. She’s manipulating you.

Finn: She lost consciousness, steffy.

Steffy: You were in the middle of telling her you never wanted to see her again, and then she suddenly collapses at our house?

Finn: They’re running a few more tests. We’re just– we’re waiting on the lab results and we–

Steffy: It’s a waste of time! This isn’t real! It’s not real! Sheila is a pro at this. Come on! We have to just–just walk out of here, okay? Let’s walk out of the hospital room and never see her again.

Ridge: I knew it. I knew sheila wouldn’t leave town.

Brooke: Felt way too easy.

Ridge: [Sighs] Finn was wrong to allow her to see hayes. You know that, right?

Brooke: It’s only made her more obsessive.

Ridge: When is this nightmare gonna be over?

Brooke: I don’t know. She’s been messing with our family for years. Now to find out she’s finn’s biological mother and hayes’ grandmother? Makes me wonder what more she’s capable of.

Ridge: I know.

Brooke: I’m just worried about the strain that she’s putting on steffy and finn’s relationship.

Paris: Finn screwed up.

Zende: You think?

Paris: [Sighs] I mean, but he fully owns his mistake. He knows that sheila shouldn’t be anywhere around steffy or her family. But the fact that he’s pretty much perfect in every other way has got to count for something, right?

Zende: Oh. So he’s perfect now, huh?

Paris: Zende, no one’s perfect, but finn’s very, very close.

Zende: Closer than me?

Paris: You guys may be neck and neck.

Zende: Really?

Paris: You may be winning by just a hair.

Brooke: It’s just really unfortunate that steffy’s caught in the middle. She loves finn so much, but she can’t standthe woman who gave birth to him.

Ridge: No one can stand her. And steffy has every right to feel uneasy about it.

Brooke: Absolutely. Finn needs to show better judgment.

Ridge: Yeah.

Brooke: But she did say that the relationship is back on track.

Ridge: Well, let’s hope this latest stunt doesn’t derail their progress.

Zende: You can admit it. You’re kinda crushing on finn, aren’t you?

Paris: Oh, you mean the same way that model was crushing on you?

Zende: Touché.

Paris: Can’t blame her.

Zende: I mean, I can’t blame her, either.

Paris: Mm-hmm.

Zende: Finn’s a good-looking guy. He’s a doctor, and he surfs. I get it. Seems like everyone’s got a thing for him these days.

Paris: Not everybody.

Zende: Are you saying you don’t?

Finn: I hear you, and I respect your feelings, but we’re–

Steffy: Then let’s go! Sheila’s in good hands. She’s gonna be just fine. We have to think about our family, finn.

Finn: I am thinking about us. You and the kids always come first. But like it or not, steffy, she is my mother.

Steffy: She’s your birth mother.

Finn: And she’s alone and scared in a hospital all by herself. I told her that I would be here. I can’t just abandon her. Some people have joint pain,

[Horn honks]

Ridge: Just texted steffy. Wanna see what’s happening at the hospital.

Zende: Hospital? Somebody get hurt?

Brooke: So she says.

Ridge: Sheila.

Zende: What did she do this time?

Ridge: Went to steffy’s house again.

Paris: Again?

Brooke: She snuck onto the property and then fainted on the floor.

Ridge: At a very opportune moment.

Zende: You’re not buying it.

Brooke: No, unfortunately, finn is vulnerable to his birth mother. In fact, he’s at the hospital with her right now. Steffy just filled us in.

Paris: Well, let me guess. Steffy went over there to confront her.

Ridge: Of course she did. She doesn’t want finn to be manipulated anymore.

Zende: But isn’t there a restraining order in place?

Brooke: Carter’s working on it, but because of the family connection, it’s a little bit complicated.

Paris: Um, you know what? I-I-I actually have a thing I have to do for the foundation.

Zende: Right now?

Paris: Yeah, it’s a video chat thing. I completely forgot about it.

Ridge: Go ahead. Do your thing.

Zende: It’s gotta be tough on both of you.

Ridge: You know what’s tough, zende? Trying to explain to finn how dangerous this woman really is. We’ve tried. We’ve all tried, but he’s not listening, so…almost to the point where I don’t wanna tell him anymore. You know what? I’m not just gonna sit back and let this woman try to weasel her way back into this family. Not gonna let it happen.

Brooke: Steffy’s not gonna let it happen either.

Steffy: I’d rather not have this conversation in here, not when she can hear us.

Finn: She’s asleep, steffy. She’s had a very trying day.

Steffy: No, no, she hasn’T. This is a scam. She’s trying to exploit your feelings. That’s what she does best. Finn, you have to trust me on this. I know you are put in a terrible position right now and part of you does feel bad for her, but… don’t let her suck you in, okay? You need to walk away. The more attention you give this woman, the more you make her feel like she’s your mother, the more she’s gonna be fixated on this. You’re gonna keep feeding the monster, and you can’t do that. You need to stop right now. We need to just go and never see sheila again.

Nurse: Sorry to interrupt. Dr. Finnegan, you wanted an update on the patient in 103. I’d have called, but since you’re here, the results are in.

Finn: Okay. Thank you. I gotta go take care of that. You wanna sit out in the waiting area?

Steffy: No, I’m gonna stay here, wait till sheila wakes up.

Finn: Look, steffy, I know you think she’s pretending, but people don’t just collapse for no reason. She might have something underlying. I’m gonna be right back.

Steffy: Hey. Finn left. It’s just you and me now. You can drop the act. You are so full of it. Obviously, you were listening to everything we were saying. So why don’t you open those eyes and look at me? Because you’re gonna hear exactly what I have to say.

(Motorcycle running)

 

Brooke: Is everything okay with paris, zende?

Zende: Um, I, uh–I think so. Why?

Brooke: I just got the feeling that she might be concerned about steffy and finn’s relationship, what they’re going through.

Zende: It could be part of it. Paris lives at the house, and sheila’s existence is enough to rattle anyone.

Ridge: That’s why finn has to cut all ties with that woman, end this nightmare.

Brooke: For everyone’s safety, especially the sake of their marriage.

Zende: We were just talking about that, how good they are together. Paris is really concerned. She doesn’t want anything or anyone coming between steffy and finn.

[Elevator door dings]

Paris: Finn.

Finn: Paris, hey. What are you doing here?

Paris: I heard about what happened with sheila, and I just wanted to see how you were doing.

Finn: [Sighs] Um, I was just gonna check on her. I had to see another patient.

Paris: Oh, I’m sorry. Don’t let me stop you from doing your job.

Finn: No, no, it’s okay. Sheila’s–she’s resting, and she’s stable, as far as we know.

Paris: Stable is good.

Finn: Yeah.

Paris: It must be a relief for you, knowing that she’s most likely in the clear, out of the woods.

Finn: She’s in good hands. There’s a lot of people watching over her, but…

[Sighs] I admit, it was a little scary watching her go down like that right at the house.

Paris: Oh, my god. I can only imagine. I wish I was there to help out.

Finn: Yeah, I mean, it was the last thing I was expecting. She was standing there, and then… I think she got upset. Anyway, um, it was really nice of you to come by, and it means a lot that you took some time to reach out.

Paris: Well, that’s what I’m here for. I am assuming that steffy isn’t giving you much support.

Sheila: Enough already. You need to leave me alone and get the hell out of here.

Steffy: All right, sheila, you had your fun. It’s time to cut this out. I’m not an idiot. Your sudden collapse as finn was telling you to get out and never come back? Hmm. What a coincidence. And bravo. You were able to lower your blood pressure. I guess your nursing degree really did come in handy. Finn may have fallen for your charade, but I haven’T. Sheila: You are relentless, steffy forrester, worse than your grandmother ever was. Okay, fine. Anything to get you to shut your mouth.

Steffy: [Scoffs]

Sheila: [Exhales]

Steffy: He’s not here.

Steffy: You know who I am. You’ve been listening to us the entire time.

Sheila: Nurse, I was just…

Steffy: It’s steffy.

Sheila: Oh, steffy.

[Groans] Get water. Please, wat–some water.

Steffy: [Sighs]

Steffy: There’s nothing wrong with you. Physically. I mean, this fantasy that you’re clinging to, that you’re gonna be in finn’s and hayes’s life forever, you need to drop it. It’s not gonna happen. All the deception and the lies, it ends here. Now. A lot of people think dealing with copd

Ridge: Uh-oh, steffy texted back. Let’s see.

Brooke: What? What’d she say?

Ridge: She is alone in a room with sheila.

Brooke: Really? Is that a good idea?

Ridge: Apparently she’s still “unconscious.”

Zende: This is seriously insane, to pull something like that?

Ridge: Yeah, she’s putting on a show for everybody.

Zende: I mean, if that’s the case, she’s seriously unhinged. I hope steffy’s being extra careful.

Ridge: You know, I’m not worried about steffy. Worried about your pal finn.

Brooke: She’s playing the victim. She’s trying to get under his skin.

Ridge: Then don’t let her! Come on! Finn needs to get on board. Trust your wife, and stop listening to sheila.

Paris: Steffy does have her own perspective.

Finn: Years of conflict between sheila and her family.

Paris: Yeah, I’m not trying to judge. She has legit reasoning. It makes sense why she thinks it’s a play for sympathy.

Finn: But it’d just be so difficult to pull off.

Paris: Yeah, but you also don’t want to believe that sheila could fake you out like that. Deep down, you’re worried about her health, and her well-being. And that’s okay, it’s normal. You’re her son. And it doesn’t sound like she has anyone else around that cares whether she lives or dies. It’s just you.

Finn: Yeah, who knows?

Paris: The point is, I feel you, finn. And if you need a friend, I’m here.

Finn: I appreciate that. And everything that you said. I just… [Sighs] Can’t stop thinking about sheila and steffy alone together. No matter how this plays out, I don’t see how anybody wins.

Sheila: What-what happened? What are you talking about?

Steffy: Don’t come to my home ever again. You stay away from my husband and my children.

Sheila: Your home.

[Sighs] I wanted to see my son and my grandson.

Steffy: Don’t call them that.

Sheila: But I am.

Steffy: They’re-they’re not yours. They’re not yours to claim. Finn asked you to leave. Repeatedly. But instead of respecting his wishes, you blacked out. You fell on the floor, claiming that it was some kind of emergency. It’s all to worm your way back into my family. I know what this is. It’s over for you. It’s done.

Sheila: God, you have no sympathy. Finn is my boy. Hayes is my grandson and I love them both.

Steffy: You don’t even know what that feels like.

Sheila: Oof. Ooh, ouch. Oh, that hurt, that’s right. Just, you know, kick her while she’s down. Look at me, steffy. I could’ve had a heart attacK.

Steffy: Sadly, I’m betting your cold, empty heart is gonna be just fine. Once finn figures out everything, that this was all a con job, he’s not gonna want anything to do with you ever again.

Steffy: I told him not to respond to you. That he shouldn’t have any communication with you.

Ridge: Hang on a sec. Sheila’s back?

Brooke: At your house?

Ridge: Hey, she wants to spend more time with him. What’s going on, steffy? Where is she now?

Steffy: She’s in the hospital.

Ridge: What?

Steffy: Sheila’s in the hospital. Finn’s with her. Oh my god.

Steffy: I’m terrified knowing what she’s gonna do next. What she’s planning. Like, how is she gonna try to contact you?

Finn: That’s not gonna happen.

Steffy: You swore that she would never come near you or our son. She’s never gonna be satisfied, finn. She’s not. Now that she’s held our son.

Finn: I’m not trying to hurt you, but you need to go. You said that you would leave and never come back.

Sheila: That was my intention. And then steffy burst in and she ruined my moment with my grandson. I would just like to hold him one more time.

Finn: No. No, you need to honor your word and just stay away from us. My son and I will have no part of your life. Not ever.

[ Thud ]

Finn: Whoa, whoa, hey. Sheila. Hey, sheila. Sheila! Hey. Sheila.

Nurse: I’ve been doing this a lot of years.

Finn: Sorry?

Nurse: Monitoring patients. Checking vitals. I’m pretty good at it. You’re pretty good at it too.

Finn: At what?

Nurse: Not looking over nurse’s shoulders. Letting us do our jobs. It’s why we all like working with you.

Finn: I didn’t realize that’s what I was doing, emily. I apologize.

Nurse: No need. I was teasing. Plus I understand.

Finn: You understand?

Nurse: Why you’re keeping a close eye on the patient too. She’s a relative, right?

Finn: How’d you know?

Nurse: Nurses see all, know all. I’m guessing an aunt.

Finn: No. She’s my mother.

Zende: Hmm. I don’t know. Still not sure about the waist. It’s missing something. A belt, maybe? How’s that feel?

Sakoya: I like it.

Zende: I meant the belt.

Sakoya: Maybe you should get a second opinion.

Zende: Paris, hey! How long have you been standing there?

Paris: Long enough to know that you’re in trouble. That belt, you can’t be serious with that.

Sakoya: That’s what I told him.

Paris: Yeah, you did. It’s too much. It takes away from her gorgeous waistline.

Zende: Okay, but like I was saying to sakoya, it still needs something.

Paris: What about a beaded waistline?

Zende: You mean a beaded belt?

Paris: No, beads sewn directly onto the fabric in a fun, geometric pattern? Something that really catches the eye. In a good way.

Zende: Start sewing.

Paris: Excuse me?

Zende: Your suggestion. The beaded waistline. Show me exactly what you had in mind.

Paris: Ha! Right. Yeah, right. No.

Zende: What? With your eye, your fashion sense, I can’t wait to see how it turns out. He’s always like this, isn’t he?

Sakoya: I know you’re keeping it on the dl, but you’re really lucky, having a guy like zende.

[ Laughing ]

Zende: She’s right.

Paris: How lucky I am?

Zende: It goes both ways. For instance, I’m lucky I get to work in the same building as you. Not only do I get to benefit from your amazing suggestions and on-point fashion sense, I get to do a lot of this.

Ridge: Why is sheila at the hospital?

Brooke: What happened?

Steffy: Apparently, she passed out and finn took her to the hospital.

Ridge: Finn took her to the hospital. How is that possible? He was gonna stay away from her.

Steffy: According to finn, she just showed up. She just came to our house.

Ridge: Just came to the house. I knew this was gonna happen. Because this woman– it doesn’t matter who raised finn. She thinks she’s his mother, his only mother.

Finn: I am so sorry about earlier. The things I said. I’m worried that’s what upset you and caused you to collapse. And yes, I need to honor my wife’s wishes. But I just met you. The woman that I’ve been wondering about my entire life. And if I were to lose you now? I can’t lose you.

[ Sighing ]

Sheila: Finn?

Finn: Mom? Hey. Hey.

Sheila: My son.

Finn: Hey. Yes, mom. Mom. Hey, it’s finn, yeah. Hey, I’m right here. I’m right here by your side. Smooth dark chocolate, refreshing peppermint,

Zende: Thanks. I’ll let steffy know when I see her.

Paris: Someone looking for steffy?

Zende: Yeah, but I can handle it if I can do anything to lighten the load at work.

Paris: You’re worried about steffy too.

Zende: Especially after everything you told me earlier. I mean, she and finn are newlyweds. He’s sleeping in the guest house?

Paris: That’s what she wants.

Zende: No, what she wants is sheila completely out of their lives. But she comes home unexpectedly, finds her mother-in-law from hell there holding her baby. Only to find out that finn allowed it?

Paris: He was being pressured by her dad. Sheila was waiting outside.

Zende: I know, I’m not taking sides. And finn is super cool. He’s also the best thing that’s happened to steffy in a long time. They haven’t even filed their marriage certificate yet.

Paris: Well, they were supposed to do that today, but steffy cancelled the appointment until this whole situation with sheila is resolved.

Zende: That’s why you think my cousin’s overreacting.

Paris: Look, I know that you and steffy are family. But yeah, I do think that she’s treating finn unfairly. She has to realize how lucky she is to be married to a guy like that.

Brooke: What else did finn say?

Ridge: More importantly, what did the doctors say?

Steffy: It’s too soon to know anything.

Ridge: It’s too soon to figure out if she maybe faked all this? This is classic sheila carter.

Steffy: I don’t blame him. He did the right thing. He told her to leave.

Ridge: Oh and don’t tell me, that’s when she collapsed, right? That’s convenient, isn’t it?

Brooke: That woman is a master of manipulation. She is so calculated with everything she does. Nobody is immune.

Ridge: Even her own son.

Steffy: Despite everything we told him, he is vulnerable to her. But I’m going to make sure he’s not manipulated by that monster again. I have to go.

[ Sighing ]

Sheila: Finn. My son, my son. Is that you?

Finn: Yeah, mom, it’s me. It’s finn. I’m right here.

Sheila: Where are we?

Finn: In the hospital.

Sheila: The hospital?

Finn: You collapsed at the house. Do you remember?

Sheila: I wanted to see you and hayes. I love you both so much. But I couldn’t see you. You wouldn’t let me because of steffy. Literally felt like my heart was being broken in two. I wouldn’t be able to see you or my beautiful grandson ever again. That’s the last thing I remember before I collapsed. But you didn’t leave me. You’re here with me. You stayed by your mother’s side. Ok everyone, our mission is to provide complete,

Zende: I am sure that steffy realizes how fortunate she is sharing her life with a guy like finn.

Paris: Yeah, I hope so. Because guys like finn are few and far between.

Zende: I am standing right here. You keep talking like this, I’m gonna start thinking that you have a crush on the good doctor.

Paris: Oh please, that is steffy’s husband. I tell you one thing, if that were my husband, I would not be treating him the way steffy’s treating him right now. I mean, I get it. It’s complicated, this whole thing with sheila. But finn can’t help who his birth mother is.

Ridge: Maybe we should have gone with steffy to the hospital.

Brooke: You’re worried what she might do when she sees sheila.

Ridge: No, I know exactly what she’s gonna do when she sees her. I’m worried about what I’m gonna do when I’m in a room with that woman.

Brooke: I think that’s true for all of us.

Ridge: She’s tormented my family for so long. And now she’s going after my daughter. And her marriage. And it’s not working is it? And when things don’t work for her, she gets desperate and when she gets desperate–

Brooke: Honey, honey. I know you’re concerned. I am too. But as clever as sheila is, she is in the hospital. There’s nothing that she can do. They’re gonna do a bunch of tests on her and they’re gonna find out there’s nothing wrong with her. Nothing physically.

Ridge: But she always finds a way. She always finds a way to cause trouble. She wants to hurt my daughter now. Am I asking too much? Really, all I want is for that woman to rot in hell because of everything that she’s done to the people I love. Too much to ask, really?

Finn: I need to get your doctor. Let them know you’re conscious again.

Sheila: I don’t want you to leave me. Please don’t leave me.

Finn: I’m gonna be right back. You need to rest. Save your energy. Just rest. You can trust me. I’ll be right back.

Nurse: I was just coming in. How is she?

Finn: She’s awake. Came to a few moments ago. Where’s dr. Griffith?

Nurse: I’ll go page her.

Finn: Okay.

Steffy: Finn!

Finn: Hey. Honey, you didn’t need to come. I know how you feel about sheila.

Steffy: I had to be here, for your sake.

Finn: Well, you don’t have to worry. She regained consciousness. Hopefully, she’s gonna be okay.

Steffy: What do you mean she’s gonna be okay? There was nothing wrong with her in the first place. Doing it yourself

Brooke: I feel the same way you do. Sheila is depraved and she is vile. And this latest stunt, it just proves the lengths she’ll go to to be in finn’s life.

Ridge: Yes, finn’s life. But not just finn’s life. Hayes’s life. She’s around, she’s gonna influence that little boy. Maybe not now because he’s a baby. But later on, she– we just gotta take care of this. We gotta deal with it.

Brooke: I thought we did deal with it. Last time she turned up in la. And look, she’s back. And in a way none of us ever anticipated, as finn’s birth mother? And steffy’s mother-in-law? I mean, your daughter is more tied to her now than she ever was before.

Ridge: I know all that. This woman, she shows up and she causes trouble, she always causes trouble. And yes, she wants a relationship with finn, and hayes and all of us, the forresters. That’s what she wants. She’s obsessed with this family. I’m not gonna let steffy deal with this on her own. She’s strong and she’s tough, but sheila, she’s whacked. And it’s gonna take all of us to take care of it. We have to deal with this once and for all.

Finn: I can understand why you might jump to that conclusion but she–

Steffy: Oh come on, this is clearly just an act. You’re telling me she just collapsed out of nowhere? Really?

Finn: Steffy, you weren’t there. You didn’t see what I saw.

Steffy: Okay, tell me exactly that you saw. I want to know everything.

Finn: Okay, this is just gonna have to wait. Okay? Sheila, she just regained consciousness, her doctor hasn’t even seen her yet.

Steffy: Okay, well I wanna see her.

Finn: Okay, just– she’s a little out of it. Okay, please don’t do or say anything that might upset her.

Finn: She may have fallen asleep.

Steffy: She can fake that too. Seems fine to me.

Finn: She collapsed. It was sudden.

Steffy: She did that to scare you. To make you worried. It’s just a ploy.

Finn: I’m a doctor, steffy. You may think sheila’s collapse was all for show–

Steffy: But you don’t? Really?

Finn: We need to wait for the test results.

Steffy: Okay, I can’t wait. Because then we’ll all find out it’s just an act, sheila.

Finn: Come on, steffy.

Steffy: You come on! She’s manipulating you. Don’t you see that? My god. I love you. I really do and I know you’re in a really tough position right now. She gave birth to you and you’re still trying to let go of the fact that she brought you into this world, but she’s done all of these terrible, criminal things. She is evil. She lies and manipulates. She does it over and over and she’s doing it right now. You need to just– you need to let go. You need to walk away. It is obvious. Just walk away from this, please. Not just for me and the kids. But you need to do it for yourself. Leave and never come back. It’s that easy.

Sheila: Damn you, steffy. Don’t listen to her, finn. Don’t leave me. Don’t leave your mother.

Finn: Yeah, she’s unconscious, but she’s breathing. Her pulse is normal. Okay, please hurry. Thank you, thank you very much. Okay, I’m gonna unlock the front door. Hang in there, mom, okay? Help is on the way.

Steffy: Sheila’s not gonna be a problem for finn and me.

Ridge: No, she won’T. She won’t be around you, or your kids, or finn, ever again. We’re working on it.

Brooke: Carter filed the restraining order?

Ridge: Yes, it’s with the judge now.

Brooke: And security’s been staffed at your house?

Steffy: Yes.

Ridge: Okay. We can have all the security, all the restraining orders in the world, but we all need to be on the same page, all of us. Do you understand?

Steffy: I understand that, and we are. Finn doesn’t want sheila around. He understands how dangerous she is.

Shauna: It’s very beautiful, the way you are standing by eric.

Quinn: Of course. He’s my husband.

Shauna: But, you need to be honest with yourself. You’ve had a very sexual, passionate relationship with carter, and the way you said he made you feel–

Quinn: Well, eric and i have faced challenges before, and we’ve gotten through them. We’ll get through them again.

Shauna: Oh come on, quinn. This is different. I know you want to be strong, but your husband may never be able to make love to you again. Can you really live without that, and make such a huge sacrifice?

Quinn: Yes. My love and commitment to my husband comes first. If I have to give up that part of myself, I will. I’ll do it for eric.

Quinn: There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for eric. I love him.

Brooke: I still can’t believe that sheila came to your house to see finn. I mean, I can, but… and jack was the one who told her where you lived?

Brooke: And you walked in…

Steffy: I walked in on her holding hayes.

Brooke: Oh my god. Steffy, I am sorry.

Ridge: Yeah, maybe jack thought giving sheila what she wanted would make her go away. It’s foolish.

Brooke: I can’t believe that finn would even go along with this.

Steffy: Finn was wrong, and he knows that. But I am convinced he won’t be seeing sheila ever again.

[ Ambulance siren ]

[ Knocking ]

Finn: Right, this way. Okay, thank god you’re here. I’m dr. Finnegan. Uh, we were just talking, and she collapsed. Just completely unconscious.

[ Radio chatter ] Strong pulse, and no sign of head trauma.

Paramedic: Okay, thank you, doctor. I’ll take it from here. What’s your relationship with the patient?

Finn: She’s my mother. Okay, we gotta hurry. We need to get her to the hospital.

Paramedic: Of course.

Frank is a fan of fast.

He’s a fast talker.

Shauna: I can’t tell you how happy it makes me, to see you both back together again.

Eric: I’m a very happy man.

Shauna: Well, it makes this girl hopeful that real love does exist, and it’s not fragile. Challenges and obstacles may come, real pain may come, but you can push through it and get to the other side. I know you both have had a lot thrown at you, but to find your way back together, it proves that you guys can do anything.

Eric: I truly hope so.

Quinn: There’s nothing we can’t overcome.

Shauna: Well, let me get out of here. Eric, it was so great seeing you.

Eric: My pleasure, as always, shauna. It’s good to see you.

Shauna: Thank you. You too.

Eric: It’s good that she came to see you. She’s a good friend for you.

Quinn: Yeah. Hey. I don’t ever want there to be secrets between us anymore. I, I shared with shauna what’s going on with you. She’s my oldest friend, and I really needed somebody to talk to, and she loves you. I mean, she has been a champion for us, from the very beginning, and just please, don’t be mad at me.

Ridge: I imagine that seeing sheila and hayes together, that that was awful for you, but look at the bright side. Even with all this, you and finn worked it out.

Steffy: Yeah, I’m happy about it. Relieved, actually.

Brooke: You were concerned, for the two of you?

Steffy: Oh, absolutely. But, when I saw sheila, holding my son in that moment, all I cared about was protecting him.

Ridge: Even from finn?

Steffy: Yeah.

Ridge: Well, that makes sense to me. There’s nothing to be ashamed of. You do whatever you can to protect your family, right?

Steffy: Mm-hm.

Brooke: Your father’s right.

Steffy: Yeah.

Ridge: Her father’s always right.

Steffy: Finn knows how dangerous sheila is, and the lengths she’ll go to get what she wants. I just hate that he’s in this position.

Ridge: I hate that too.

Brooke: Yeah.

Steffy: He’s always wondered about his birth mother, and then he finally meets her and sees that she’s a sociopath.

Brooke: I can’t imagine what he’s going through, but the important thing is that he knows he can’t be in her life.

Ridge: ‘Cause he does know that, right? That’s what I was struggling with, a little bit. He had all the information. We told him about sheila, everything, what he did to you, to your mom, to you, and I think he listened. He probably listened, but he didn’t live it. Didn’t live the darkness, he didn’t live that danger. He, uh, just heard about it. So, I gotta think that, even with all that, he’s gonna have a relationship with his mother.

Dr. Griffith: Dr. Finnegan!

Finn: Dr. Griffith.

Dr. Griffith: What happened?

Finn: We were talking, she just collapsed. Pulse is normal.

Paramedic: 90 bpm.

Dr. Griffith: Her heartbeat?

Paramedic: Steady, no obstructions.

Dr. Griffith: Any drugs or alcohol?

Finn: No. Uh, not to my knowledge. It could be neurological or metabolic.

Dr. Griffith: Any signs of head trauma?

Paramedic: No.

Dr. Griffith: Any verbal, tactile, or noxious stimulus?

Finn: There’s been none.

Dr. Griffith: Get her in room two, right away. We’ll take care of her.

Finn: Thank you. Mom, I’m right here, okay? I’m gonna be right by your side.

[ Upbeat music ]

Quinn: Eric. I’m sorry for opening up to shauna, about all of this. She’s my oldest friend.

Eric: You needed someone to talk to, I understand. You told me.

Quinn: I just don’t want you to be mad at me.

Eric: Mad at you?

Quinn: Yeah.

Eric: No. No, how could I be mad at you? If anybody should be apologizing, it’s me.

Quinn: Oh, eric, no–

Eric: No, no, I should have, I should have been truthful to you about all of this months ago.

Quinn: You don’t have anything to apologize for.

Eric: But, I do. I do, I was, I was embarrassed, I was ashamed and I, I, I pushed you away.

Quinn: I’m the one who broke our vows.

Eric: Because I let you believe that I was rejecting you, I let you believe that I was no longer interested in being intimate with you. I’m sorry.

Quinn: Hey, hey, look at me. I love you. We have gotten through every obstacle we’ve faced before. We’re gonna do it again.

Ridge: Steffy, look, I don’t, I don’t wanna upset you. I don’T. I also don’t want you to doubt your husband. I get it, I get it. You don’t want me to be unrealistic.

Ridge: No, I don’t know what I want, no, I, I do know what I want. I want you to be happy, because you have husband who’s great. He’s just got a few things he’s gotta work out. He’s got an amazing family.

Brooke: I think what your father is trying to say is that finn discovering his birth mother, that’s huge. There has to be some kind of emotional connection on some level.

Ridge: Not on some level, on every level. I mean, he, he may not even be aware of all of it, at this point.

Steffy: But dad, finn and I already had that conversation, it’s fine.

Ridge: Yeah. And you had that same conversation before all that. No, I’m sorry, and–

[ Steffy sighing ] You know I love you? And I, I… finn told you, that you and the kids come first, right? You remember that?

Steffy: Mm-hm.

Ridge: Still, that woman showed up at your house. How?

Steffy: Finn was vulnerable to her once. And now, that he’s seen her desperation, the way that she manipulates, finn will not fall for that, ever again.

Finn: This can’t continue, sheila.

Sheila: Please call me “mom”.

Finn: I can’T. I’m not trying to hurt you, but you need to go. You need to honor your word, and you need to stay away from us. My son and i will have no part of your life. Not ever.

Dr. Griffith: Exactly what happened, dr. Finnegan?

Finn: We’re talking, things got pretty heated, and she started to get upset. And she, she collapsed, she passed out. At first, I was worried she was having a heart attack.

Dr. Griffith: Uh-huh. Ekg shows no sign of cardiac arrest.

[ Machine beeping ] How do you know this woman, dr. Finnegan?

Finn: She’s my mother.

Dr. Griffith: Your mother? But, I thought–

Finn: Oh, sorry, she’s, uh, she’s my birth mother. I just met her. It’s, it’s complicated. Really complicated, actually. But, I… I finally found her. And I can’t lose her. Not like this. If you think all pads are exactly the same,…

[ Relaxing acoustic music ]

Eric: Quinn, it’s just I’ve been so unfair to you. I, I should have told you the truth about all of this before asking you to come back, before tearing up the divorce papers.

Quinn: Carter, I love you.

Carter: I love you too.

Quinn: Do you really think my answer would have changed? I’m committed and devoted to you.

Eric: But, what if I can’t? I can’t? I’ve been to doctors and psychiatrists and nothing seems to be working. I was hoping that this opening up to you, would be the breakthrough that I’ve been hoping for, but it’s just not happening. I’M… I’m letting you down.

Quinn: No, you’re not. You’re not letting me down. Come on, it’s exactly what shauna said, this is who we are. We come up against obstacles and we face them. Together.

Eric: But I can’t, I can’T. And how can I ask, how can I ask you to bury that part of you? You’re, you’re a beautiful, vibrant, sensual woman. You’re a passionate woman.

Quinn: I get it, but you have to still believe that you could fulfill me. You’ve done it before, you will do it again.

Steffy: You didn’t upset me. I understand why you’re concerned. I’m concerned too, but not about finn. I’m not gonna let sheila drive a wedge between us.

[ Phone ringing ] Hey, baby.

Finn: Hey, um, uh, I’m at the hospital.

Steffy: Oh, oh did you have to go in? Did donna bring the kids home? Do I have to go home, and relieve amelia? Is everything okay?

Finn: Uh, no, I didn’t get called in.

Steffy: Oh. What’s going on? Is something wrong?

Finn: Uh, something happened. There was an emergency.

Steffy: With one of your patients?

Finn: Um, my mother.

Steffy: Your mother, with li? What happened, what’s wrong?

Finn: Oh no, not her. She’s fine, she’s fine. Um… it’s sheila.

Steffy: Sheila. What happened?

Finn: Uh, we’re not sure. She, uh, we’re monitoring her, but she collapsed and she’s been unconscious ever since.

Steffy: How did you find this out?

Finn: Uh, I was with her when she collapsed.

Steffy: You were with her?

Finn: At the house.

Steffy: Our house?

Finn: Sheila showed up. I, I was surprised, but I told her that she could no longer come there, and I made it very clear that I never wanted to see her again. She got really upset and collapsed. I know how you feel about her, and if I’m being honest, I’m just really worried.

Steffy: Finn.

Finn: I know you don’t want to hear this, but she’s my mother, and I don’t want to lose her.

Sheila: He doesn’t want to lose me. You never will, my baby boy, no one will keep us apart. Not even you, steffy.

Finn: Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you. I let myself in.

Steffy: No, it’S… it’s okay. I was just thinking.

Finn: Yeah, I’ve been thinking a lot too. I want you to know how truly sorry I am. I should never allowed sheila anywhere near our son.

[ Dramatic music ]

[ Tapping of phone ]

Sheila: At least it was until steffy ruined it.

Ridge: I was hoping you’d be here.

Eric: You were? Why? Is this gonna turn into some kind of an intervention? Is that what this is?

Brooke: Eric, we can’t help being concerned.

Eric: Stop. Stop looking out for me. Don’t question my choices. Or my marriage. There’s more to quinn and me than you can see. There’s more going on with us than you can possibly understand.

Quinn: Thanks for meeting me here. I really didn’t want to get into this at the office.

Shauna: I completely understand. This will give us a chance to talk more privately. It’s really true? Eric?

Quinn: Unfortunately.

Shauna: Well, these things happen from time to time. If a man is under a lot of stress, or has performance anxiety. Do you remember that valet guy I was dating?

Quinn: Which one? Look, I wish it were that simple, I really do. I mean, anxiety, I would know how to handle that. But this? What am I supposed to do, shauna? My husband may never be able to make love to me again.

Shauna: It must’ve been quite a shock when eric told you.

Quinn: Yeah. I mean, he’s always been so virile, you know? It explains a lot, though.

Shauna: Explains?

Quinn: Why he was pulling away from me. Why he was being so distant. It wasn’t just because he was disappointed in me. He was covering up for this problem.

Shauna: If he would’ve told you back then…

Quinn: I know, and look, I’m not trying to make excuses, but one of the reasons that I ended up in carter’s arms is because he was being so cold to me.

Shauna: You’re thinking about that, aren’t you?

Quinn: Thinking about what?

Shauna: About what you gave up to be back with eric. Quinn, you confided in me what it was like to be with carter. How unbelievable it all was. And now, finding out that connection with eric may never be possible, I know what I would be thinking if I were you.

Steffy: You don’t have to keep apologizing.

Finn: But I will. Until I get through to you. Until you understand I know what I did was wrong. Not sheila showing up, but that I allowed it.

Steffy: It felt like a huge betrayal, finn.

Finn: Yeah, but I’m not gonna let it change what we have. You hear me, steffy? I’m not gonna let sheila or anyone come between us.

Steffy: You will never be part of my family. Do you hear that? Do you hear that? I never want to see your face again.

Sheila: Steffy’s the problem. She’s the one coming between me and my son. There are times, I wonder…

Eric: I know you mean well, but my marriage is not your business. It’s not open to discussion or critique. I’m gonna go home to my wife.

Shauna: Quinn, be honest. After everything you told me about your time with carter, it was to be crossing your mind.

Quinn: Yes, I am thinking about carter. I mean, honestly, I… I love him too. I do. Everything about him.

Shauna: And if your husband can’t give you what you need?

Quinn: Don’T. Please, shauna. Don’T.

Shauna: You’re completely justified in feeling the way you do. Especially with this new development. It’s okay to admit that you miss that part of your life! And that you miss being with carter.

Steffy: I didn’t want sheila to come between us either. And she wouldn’t be if you kept your promise and you told her to stay away.

Finn: I know, but my dad was convinced that all we needed to do was give her one visit, let her see hayes, hold him, and she’d be gone. Now, look, I’m not blaming my dad, but he was adamant. And he… I’ve always trusted his judgment.

Steffy: You should’ve trusted my judgment. I know what sheila’s capable of. He doesn’T. He has no idea.

Finn: Even though he was trying to help, yeah, he’s obviously made things much worse. No, you’re right. I’ve made things much worse. I’m the one who betrayed your trust. But I want to earn it back.

Steffy: Don’t think I don’t want that too.

[ Sighing ] It’s just difficult.

Finn: And it’s even more difficult when we’re apart. I was miserable last night. And it felt so wrong to sleep alone. I don’t want that to be how we deal with our problems. Look, this is a marriage, and when things get rough, we’ve got to fight even harder to stay united. Look, I cannot be away from you any longer.

Sheila: Grown. Cutie. He’s so beautiful. I’m your grandma, hayes. I have been dying to meet you. I have. It felt so good holding you in my arms. My grandson. A forrester.

[ Giggling ] What do you think of that, stephanie? You looking up from hell right now even more tormented? Knowing that your namesake gave birth to my grandson. My grandson! You tried and you tried to get rid of me. And now, I am a permanent fixture in the forrester family. And you know what? I’m going to embrace that. I’m not going anywhere. Finn is my son. Brooke: I just don’t get it.

Ridge: Oh, I don’t get it either.

Brooke: How many times– how many different ways can quinn show that she can’t be trusted?

Ridge: No matter what, he’s going to keep taking her back.

Brooke: And he’s not even happy about it. He keeps blaming himself for her cheating.

Ridge: It’s ridiculous! Quinn and carter had an affair, nothing to do with my dad.

Quinn: I do miss him.

Shauna: I know.

Quinn: I miss carter a lot.

Shauna: I know you do, I don’t blame you. Especially now that eric can’T…

Quinn: You know, I try to be encouraging, I told him maybe there are specialists he doesn’t know of, or therapies that he’s never even heard of yet.

Shauna: I’m assuming he’s already tried.

Quinn: I just– maybe I have to accept the fact that my husband may never be able to perform again. But shauna, I don’t care, because it’s what I signed up for. We made vows, “for better or for worse,” right? I mean, it– isn’t that what life is all about? Making sacrifices for the ones you love the most?

Shauna: And you’re prepared to give up that part of your life entirely?

Quinn: If that’s what I have to do for eric, I will. I love him that much.

Finn: My love for you is forever, steffy.

Steffy: That’s how I feel, too.

Finn: Good, we can get through this. And we will. Alright? I’m not gonna let my birth mother affect us. We’ve got to move forward. Sheila is gone. But I’m not. I’m here. I’m always gonna be here. For you.

Steffy: I’m here for you, too.

Finn: I just– I can’t believe I let you down.

Steffy: And I’ve let you down too. I said I didn’t want to go to the courthouse. But, I didn’t want you to misunderstand, I just wasn’T… I couldn’t sign the marriage certificate with everything else going on.

Finn: I don’t care about the courthouse. Or the marriage certificate. Or the fact that there’s no ac in the guest house.

Steffy: Oh, is that the real reason you’re coming back here?

Finn: I mean, could we at least put in a window unit?

[ Giggling ] There’s that beautiful smile. The way it lights up your eyes, and those gorgeous lips.

Steffy: Do you really think that sheila’s going to leave us alone?

Finn: I do. And even if she doesn’t, I’m gonna have nothing to do with her. My commitment’s to you. To our family, which doesn’t include sheila. We won’t let her come between us.

Steffy: We won’T.

Finn: Does that mean I can come back from exile?

Steffy: I guess you can come back in the air conditioned house.

[ Giggling ]

Steffy: Well, we’re gonna have to celebrate a little bit later because I have to go into the office right now.

Finn: Oh no.

Shauna: I respect you for dedicating yourself to you marriage and the way you adore eric, I mean, how could you not. He’s the sweetest man, so kind. But you just ended a very sexually charged relationship with carter. So, how do you go from that, to what? Complete celibacy?

Quinn: I have to. I want to be true to eric. And I will. 100% committed. Look. I want to have a strong and healthy marriage. If that means that I have to give up passion, excitement, sensuality, then so be it. I would do anything for eric. Anything.

Ridge: So, um… how is my daughter, really?

Steffy: Honestly? Not great.

Ridge: That’s what I figured. That’s why I keep checking on ya. Donna called. She said she’s picking up the kids for the day. So that’s good, right, helpful. I just can’t believe– I can’t believe that finn would let sheila in this house.

Steffy: Yeah, that makes two of us.

Ridge: Sorry, I keep bringing it up.

Steffy: Honestly, I’m really worried about my relationship with finn.

Paris: I’m so sorry.

Finn: Yeah. Me, too.

Paris: I feel awful that you’re going through such a terrible time.

Finn: Well, I appreciate your support.

Paris: I can’t believe steffy cancelled going to the courthouse. I mean, doesn’t she want to make your marriage official?

Carter: I hope I didn’t make you feel uncomfortable or put you on the spot.

Quinn: By telling me that you miss me? No way.

Carter: Good. When we’re alone, I have a hard time hiding my feelings. You know, the ones I’m not supposed to have.

Quinn: I know those feelings well.

Carter: We were so close to making a life together. And that changed when eric wanted you back. I miss you, quinn. I won’t deny it. But I am happy for you. I can’t imagine what it feels like to be back in your husband’s arms.

Eric: I have… I have erectile dysfunction. I can’t, I can’T… I can’t make love to you.

Carter: Quinn? Is everything okay?

Ridge: You’re worried about your relationship? I mean, it’s more than that. You’re married.

Steffy: Technically, we’re not.

Ridge: What do you mean?

Steffy: We’re not officially married, dad.

Ridge: What, what are you talking about?

Steffy: We were supposed to go to the courthouse to file our marriage certificate, but… I couldn’t do it.

Finn: I–I’m sorry.

Paris: For what?

Finn: Dumping all my problems on you, and doing it here in the guest house, where there’s no air conditioning.

Paris: Okay, first of all, I can handle a little bit of heat. And secondly, you have absolutely nothing to be sorry about. I care about you and steffy. And if there’s anything I can do to help either of you– I’m happy to do anything you need.

Finn: You are a good friend.

Paris: Well, as a friend, could I have an opinion about this?

Finn: Of course. But I think I know what it is. I should never have let sheila in the house, let alone anywhere near hayes.

Paris: No. I think steffy is overreacting.

Carter: Is everything okay?

Quinn: Yeah. Sure.

Carter: Okay, I’m sensing like there’s something off. Is there some kind of trouble between you and eric? An adjustment period, maybe? He’s having a difficult time falling back into old patterns. It’s understandable. You know, given what happened between us. Give it time. He’s kind and forgiving. And he can be a little gruff, but deep down he’s just a, he’s just a big ‘ol teddy bear.

Quinn: Right.

Carter: I get the feeling like I didn’t help you, at all. What’S… what’s going on? Is there something you want to talk about?

[ Knocking on door]

Shauna: Oh. Uh… I was looking for flo. Am I interrupting something?

Quinn: Not at all.

Shauna: Okay. So why are you two behind closed doors? You try to stay ahead of the mess

Steffy: Things were so good between finn and me. Well, until sheila showed up.

Ridge: I’d never seen you that happy.

Steffy: It’s just hard to wrap my head around it. Everything was so wonderful and then my worst nightmare walks into the door.

Ridge: Well eventually, that nightmare’s gonna walk out the door. She’ll go back to her crazy, twisted life without hayes. ‘Cause he’s staying here. He’s gonna be raised by us. He’s going to be just like us and that’s scary enough, I think.

Steffy: I just want my kids to have every chance in life and not worry about sheila.

Ridge: I understand.

Steffy: It’s just wild to me, like how quickly things change. Like, one minute, I’m coming home. I’m excited to see my husband. I’m gonna surprising him and then the next, he’s staying in the guesthouse. Now today, I don’t know if I want to make our marriage official. Not yet. I can’t do it.

Paris: Look, I’m not bashing steffy. I would never do that. But, you’ll be out of here in no time once she starts thinking clearly again.

Finn: Hm, I don’t know about that. She said she couldn’t even look at me.

Paris: In the moment. All right, imagine the shock. She’s walks into her living room seeing sheila holding her baby in her arms.

Finn: You should have seen her face. It was… I mean, first shock and then, just… betrayal.

Paris: You were caught in the middle. Sheila might be the devil to everyone else, but she is your birth mother. You wouldn’t be human if you didn’t feel some kind of conflict.

Finn: Yeah, but there’s no question where my loyalties lie. It’s with my wife. I just… I let my dad… I don’t know, get into my head and I allowed something I never should have. I mean, what if that look of horror is always in steffy’s eyes whenever she looks at me?

Shauna: Did I walk in on a private moment?

Quinn: No.

Shauna: It’s just, it’s really odd after everything that’s happened– what you almost lost– that the two of you would be behind closed doors together, where anyone could easily misinterpret.

Quinn: For crying out loud, shauna. What are you? The door police? Carter and I both work in the same building. I mean, we just ended up in the same office.

Shauna: Okay. Just curious. Because you told me that you and eric were back together.

Quinn: Yes, we are. And I was telling carter how happy I am about that.

Carter: I’m delighted for them. And I mean it. I’m glad that you’re happy, quinn. You deserve no less.

Quinn: Thank you.

Carter: Now, I have some calls to make. Shauna.

Shauna: Carter. Well, that exchange was very weird.

Quinn: That’s just because you’re a naturally suspicious human being.

Shauna: Only with you.

Quinn: Gee. I’m touched.

Shauna: Oh, quinn, come on. I know you. I can tell that something’s weighing so heavily on you. What is going on? Tell me.

I may have moderate to

severe rheumatoid arthritis.

Steffy: I feel terrible about finn staying in the guest house. Maybe it isn’t fair. And I have to think about that as a possibility. I mean, he’s been there for me through some really difficult, challenging situations. And here I am just… doing the opposite, I’m telling him to leave.

Ridge: I think you’re being very fair. You need some room.

[ Sighing ] You’re meant to think. You’re conflicted. I mean, we all know that you love finn.

Steffy: I do.

Ridge: Bottom line is sheila. She– she’s a bad person. She wants to destroy anything to do with forrester. So we got to keep our guard up, especially with the kids.

Steffy: I get that. And finn didn’t ask for this. He wasn’t looking for his birth mother.

Ridge: No. But she found him. We have to be concerned.

Paris: That look in steffy’s eyes wasn’t for you. Come on, finn, you know she loves you. It doesn’t just disappear overnight.

Finn: It’s– it just kills me that I betrayed her trust. I mean, why did I not just kick sheila out immediately?

Paris: Because you’re human. Steffy has to try to understand that. She has to bend a little to try to understand your position. Sheila is your biological mother. And, and someone that you’ve wondered about your whole life and bam, she’s here. So of course, you’re drawn to her. Who wouldn’t be?

Finn: And I’d be fine if anyone was my birth mother but sheila.

Steffy: Yeah, but you don’t get to choose that.

Finn: True.

Paris: Steffy and you met way before my time in L.A., But I’ve heard enough stories to know that you’ve supported her through some really challenging times. Maybe it’s time she does the same for you. You two should be together, working through this. It’s not right of her to punish you. Have you staying here? You don’t deserve that.

Carter: We’re restocking already? Those bracelets are flying off the shelves. Yeah, yeah, yeah, quinn’ll be glad to hear that. Yeah, I’ll have her give you a call. Okay. All right, bye.

Shauna: I seem to remember us promising no more secrets. What is wrong, quinn? What is going on? Is it eric? Aren’t you happy to be back together?

Quinn: Of course I am. All I ever wanted was my husband. That’s how carter and I began. We were commiserating with each other over our broken relationships. I lost faith that eric would ever want me back. That’s, that’s why we had an affair. I hurt eric so much, but he found it in his heart to forgive me. He even ripped up the divorce papers.

[ Sighing ] That just shows you what a remarkable man he is.

Shauna: I totally agree. And I know firsthand how much eric loves you and how devoted he is. He always talked about what you brought to his life that he felt was missing: Excitement and vibrancy. Passion. Okay, I saw that look. Something is wrong. Quinn, I know you guys had your issues in the bedroom at one point. But that doesn’t seem to be the case any longer? Oh, quinn. He still doesn’t want to be with you?

Quinn: No… of course not. Eric wants me. He does but… but he can’T.

Ridge: I like finn. You– you do know that, right?

Steffy: Of course I do.

Ridge: Okay. I think he’s a good life partner for you. He’s good, he’s a good man and he loves you.

Steffy: I know.

Ridge: So I’m not standing here, attacking him… he’s in a tough spot. But so are you and I’m not sure that you’re realizing what this whole sheila thing is actually doing to you.

Steffy: No, I’m really freaked out dad, I am. I adore finn and I love our family. Our little baby boy. I’ve always had this vision for our future and it never included sheila! Like, I don’t– I don’t care if she’s his biological mother, but she’s not welcome here or anywhere near our family. And I don’t want–

Ridge: No, she’s not– shh. She’s not.

[ Sighing ] And finn’s gonna have to realize that. He’s gonna have to respect that. ‘Cause forgiving sheila… we can’t do that, not after everything she’s done to our family. But hey, you and finn, you got to work it out. You got to be stronger than ever.

Steffy: Yeah, I believe that. I do. I’m not gonna let anything come between us.

Ridge: Come here.

Paris: You are in an impossible position. I mean, not only was your bio-mom begging you for a moment, but your dad was pressuring you too.

Finn: Yeah, it was pretty intense. And I caved.

Paris: You thought that that would get sheila out of your lives for good.

Finn: Yeah, I did.

Paris: I mean, even if you did invite her in because you wanted to see your mother for one last time, who can blame you?

Finn: Yeah. Thanks for all the support, paris. I mean, I really appreciate it.

Paris: I’m just really impressed by you. You’re a good person. A healer. A devoted dad, not only to hayes, but to kelly. And you treat steffy like a queen. I find it hard to believe she didn’t race down to the courthouse to make the marriage official. I mean, she has to realize that she’s so lucky to be married to such an incredible guy.

Carter: I had to do that one last time.

Quinn: I’m so glad you did.

I’m not sure I should be talking about this.

Shauna: Your marriage? Your relationship to eric? Quinn, I’m your best friend. Who else are you gonna talk to about it? I can see you’re struggling with something. Is this about carter? I saw the way you two were looking at each other when I walked in and how intense it was. And you’ve confided in me what an incredible lover he is.

Quinn: Please. Don’t, don’t remind me.

Shauna: Honey? Talk to me?

Quinn: If I don’t talk to someone, I’m gonna explode.

Shauna: I’m right here.

Quinn: You know how much it meant to me to be back home with eric. I wanted to make it a romantic evening. You know, to– to show him that I love him. That I never stopped.

Shauna: Go on.

Quinn: I put on some sexy lingerie, and I went downstairs to the living room, but I found eric asleep on the couch. And I was disappointed at first, I was, but then I realized it had been a long day, we’d had a couple of martinis… I didn’t think anything of it and then, and then the next morning, he told me that he just… that he can’t keep this from me any longer.

Shauna: Keep what from you?

Quinn: Eric does want me. He desires me. He wants to be my husband in every way, but he can’t– he isn’t able to–

Shauna: Oh. Oh. Oh, quinn… you don’t mean…?

Quinn: My husband can’t get aroused anymore. Eric has E.D.. he can’t make love to me. He may never be able to make love to me ever again.

Paris: Yeah. You?

Finn: No, um, day off. Which is good.

Paris: Rough night.

Finn: Yeah. The worst. I just… I hate being away from steffy, and it does not help there’s no air conditioning in here.

Paris: I mean, she’s up. You should go see her.

Finn: I’m on my way. She wants to talk before we go the courthouse. We have an appointment to file our marriage certificates. I’m hoping that’ll get us back on track.

Paris: Yeah, me, too.

Finn: Thanks.

Paris: I know you guys are going to work through this. She loves you, how could she not?

Quinn: I’ll miss you, I feel like I’m leaving a part of me behind. Carter, I love you.

Carter: I love you too.

Quinn: Carter.

Carter: Quinn. You’re back at work.

Quinn: Yeah. Don’t let me interrupt yours.

Carter: Wait, wait. Quinn, uh. Don’t go. I was just thinking about you. How was your homecoming with eric? Bet it was quite the celebration.

Carter: Your mom was just telling me about her reunion with eric.

Wyatt: Oh, yeah. Exciting news.

Wyatt: I got your text. I wanted to congratulate you in person, but uh, do I have to remind you not to screw this up?

Zende: This looks much better. What do you think of these changes, charlene, how do they feel?

Charlene: I thought it was perfect before, but you’re the designer.

Paris: Yeah. One of the best in the building.

Zende: Workin’ on it.

Paris: Don’t let me slow you down.

Zende: No, I think we’re done for now. Thank you.

Paris: Wow, very good. You know, I think charlene wanted to spend a little bit more time with you.

Zende: The only woman I want to spend any time with is standing in front of me.

[ Paris sighing ] Everything all right?

Paris: I don’t know… you’re steffy’s cousin, so, it’s not like she’s going to keep this from family.

Zende: Something’s going on with steffy?

Paris: I’m worried about her relationship with finn.

Finn: The kids still asleep?

Steffy: Yeah. There’s coffee.

Finn: Thanks. I, I need it.

Steffy: I didn’t sleep much either. It was weird not having you in bed with me.

Finn: Yeah, it was. It was awful. Look, steffy, I am so sorry that I allowed sheila to hold our son. It was horrible error in judgment. I broke my promise to you. I betrayed your trust. Look, I’m not making excuses. But I swear for one, one stupid moment, I really did think that I was protecting our family. But I was wrong. And I will do anything I can to make it up to you. (Drill sergeant) what a pleasant morning. It’s warm, but not too warm.

Wyatt: So you guys were just talking about eric?

Quinn: Well, I guess our reunion is a pretty big deal around here.

Carter: I was congratulating your mom, wyatt. She and eric are happy again and I am happy for them.

Wyatt: Yeah, me too.

Quinn: You know what would make me happy? A wedding. Yes, I mean, not mine, of course, I’m talking about yours.

Wyatt: No.

Quinn: You and flo have been engaged far too long.

Wyatt: No. No, no, no. Do not start hounding flo about our wedding day.

Quinn: No, see I don’t see it as hounding, I see it more like helping.

Wyatt: You know what? You know where flo is? Because I have to take her for lunch.

Quinn: No, I don’t, but wherever you take her, see if they have a catering menu.

Wyatt: It’s good to see you acting like yourself again, mom.

Quinn: Thank you, honey.

Wyatt: Right, well, congratulations again. I will see you later, all right?

Quinn: Okay.

Wyatt: Carter.

Carter: Wyatt. Well, he seems genuinely pleased for you and eric.

Quinn: Yeah, yeah, he does. But not everybody feels that way. Brooke and ridge for instance, they think that our reconciliation is a terrible mistake. What about you? I heard what you said to wyatt, how do you really feel about me and eric being back together?

Zende: Steffy must have lost her mind when she walked in and saw sheila holding her baby.

Paris: Yeah, finn feels awful about it.

Zende: Did sheila actually leave?

Paris: I don’t know.

Zende: So she’s still here? No wonder you’re worried.

Paris: I’m concerned about that, but also how it’s impacting their marriage, you know? Finn spent the night in the guest house.

Zende: Oh wow.

Paris: I just, I can’t believe steffy threw him out of the house for that, I mean, it seems a little extreme. And how are they going to deal with this if she can’t even look at him?

Steffy: Finn, I love you. But I’m trying to understand how you could put our son into the hands of the monster who shot my mother and terrorized my family after I told you to stay away from her.

Finn: I can’t defend that. I can’t defend it. All I can say is that nothing like that will ever happen again. Look, I love you, steffy. I love our son and kelly and I love our life together. I’m not going to let anyone, or anything ever come between us. Look, I just, I just need you to believe me that I won’t let you down again. We’re supposed to go to the courthouse today and make our marriage official. It’s the perfect reset. Our marriage can begin today. By signing those papers it can be more than just a formality. It can be a renewal of our commitment and our faith in each other. We need this, steffy, we need this for us and our future together. There are times, I wonder…

Carter: I meant what I said to wyatt.

Quinn: So did I.

Carter: Doesn’t mean I don’t miss you. Look, I know how important your marriage is and I’m glad you and eric were able to put it back together.

Quinn: Things aren’t exactly been the same.

Carter: You said you guys were being more honest with each other.

Quinn: You think you know what’s going on with someone, how they are thinking, and they’re feeling, and then you find out that you’ve got it all wrong.

Carter: I’m sure it’s been difficult for eric. Being separated from you. I’m sure he couldn’t wait to get you in his arms, and be close to you. Yeah, it must have been really fulfilling being back home with him.

Zende: Man, you are really invested in this.

Paris: I mean, finn has stood by steffy through so much.

Zende: They probably just need some space, look at us. We decided to take a step back, slow things down a little bit, and I would say, we’re in a better place because of it.

Paris: We are.

Zende: Hey, just the other day you were telling me how much in love they are. I am sure they will patch things up.

Paris: Yeah, and finn is ready to do that, if only steffy will give him a chance. I live with them, zende, I see them, I see how they are as a couple, with the kids. Finn is so good for steffy you know? And, and he’s caring and devoted, and you know he actually cares about her happiness. She has to see that. And she has to forgive him so that they can move on.

Steffy: I never questioned your love for me or mine for you. You changed my life, and I’m so grateful for that. From the moment I met you, I knew I could trust you. I felt safe with you. You never let me down… until now.

Finn: Look, I wasn’t trying to defy you or diminish any of your fears.

Steffy: No, and I want you to know that I do trust you, and I know that you would never lie to me.

Finn: Never.

Steffy: Well, I can’t hide this from you. On our wedding day, when we said our vows, I vowed to be there for you, like you are for me. And when there is a challenge, we don’t avoid it. We step up and we face it.

Finn: We can, we can do that together.

Steffy: Yeah, um. I know we’re supposed to file our marriage certificate today. But finn, I… I can’T. I can’t do it knowing sheila is out there. She was at our house. She held our child. I can’t go to the courthouse with you.

Finn: You don’t want to leave the kids with amelia? You’re scared sheila is gonna show up?

Steffy: I can’t finalize our marriage right now, finn.

Finn: You said you believe me.

Steffy: I’m not trying to punish you. I just can’t get that image out of my mind.

Finn: Sheila, she was just holding him. She wasn’t hurting him. She wasn’t going to run off. I was right there. I wouldn’t have let her do anything to hurt hayes. You know that.

Steffy: Her being here, finn, wasn’t an accident. She knew what she was doing. At the wedding reception, she told me she wanted to see our son. I said that was never going to happen. But she found a way.

Finn: You’re afraid she could do it again, but I’m telling you–

Steffy: You do not know what’s she’s capable of! You don’T. If you did, you wouldn’t have her anywhere near our child! Now she feels as though she made inroads with you–

Finn: She hasn’t!

Steffy: She’s going to keep trying, trust me. I know this. She’s going to keep trying and trying and manipulate her way back into our lives, I can’T. I can’t live with that! I can’t!

Finn: So, what are you saying?

Steffy: I can’t think about anything else, until I can stop thinking about sheila.

Finn: But if we don’t file the papers, we aren’t officially married.

Steffy: It’s not you. It’s her. I can’t do this. I don’t want sheila connected to this. To us. I’m not saying it’s not going to happen. But I can’t finalize our marriage today.

Quinn: I’m still trying to process everything.

Carter: Things are good, though, right? Being back home.

Quinn: Yeah.

Carter: But it’s not the same.

Quinn: No. Well… I think eric and I both changed. We had experiences while we were apart. We, we… we learned things about ourselves and… we’re just trying to be open and honest about all of it.

Carter: All of it? You didn’t tell him about…

[ Pen clattering ]

Quinn: No. I didn’T.

Carter: And there’s no reason to. ‘Cause that’s in the past. And I’m glad that you’re back in the office and home with eric, but… I’ll miss what we had. I miss holding you, I miss lying in bed together. Making love to you. Look, I’m sorry if I’m making you feel uncomfortable. And I promise that I won’t bring it up every time we’re alone. But you asked how I really felt. And you’re committed to eric.

Paris: Hey, hey, checking on you. Can I come in?

Finn: Uh, sure.

Paris: Did you just go for a run?

Finn: Yeah, it’s probably not the best way to cool off.

Paris: Well, I thought I would see steffy after the courthouse. And uh… how’d it, how’d it go? Finn: I don’t know. It didn’T. I can’t believe it.

Paris: Oh. Uh, what happened?

Finn: Steffy canceled the appointment. She can’t finalize our marriage while sheila’s still out there.

Paris: I mean, you’re already married. You just gotta sign a few papers.

Finn: She can’t get past what happened with sheila and hayes.

Paris: Well, steffy can’t blame you.

Finn: I promised to protect her. I gave her my word that I would protect her and our family. From the moment we met, I’ve only had one goal. It’s to make this incredible woman feel safe and secure. And that is not how she is feeling right now. Not about sheila and… not about us.

Steffy: Dad. Thank god.

Ridge: Hi. Was surprised to get your text. Thought you were on your business trip.

Steffy: Uh, yeah, yeah, I cancelled it.

Ridge: Cancelled it, huh? So I guess you already know.

Steffy: Know what?

Ridge: Grandad and quinn are back together.

Steffy: As if this day couldn’t get any worse.

Ridge: So I guess you didn’t know. So what’s going on? Door’s locked for the first time in years and… you seem rattled. Where’s finn?

Steffy: I asked him to leave.

Paris: Finn? I was just coming in and I saw you through the window. What are you doing in the guesthouse? Trying to get away from the heat? Oh, um, is everything okay?

Finn: I’m, uh, I’m giving steffy some space.

Paris: Space? Why? Did you get in a fight?

Quinn: Hey.

Eric: Hey.

Quinn: You know what I was thinking we could do tonight? I was thinking maybe we could watch a movie. Have some popcorn, curl up with each other in the screening room.

Eric: Sure.

Quinn: Yeah? But first, I was thinking maybe what we could do is take a little swim. It’s such a beautiful evening.

Eric: Been a long, hot day hasn’t it?

Quinn: Yeah, it has.

Eric: Sure. I’ll get a swimsuit.

Quinn: Whoa. Who said anything about swimsuits? It’s just the two of us. All we need is each other and maybe a pitcher of martinis, you know? Get us nice and relaxed.

Eric: You think a martini would help our cause?

Quinn: It couldn’t hurt.

Eric: Good idea.

Quinn: I don’t want you to have a care in the world. We’re going to get through this together. Who knows, maybe tonight we’ll even have a breakthrough.

Eric: I appreciate so much you’re trying to help me with this. Coping with it on my own for so long, so many months.

Quinn: I know. I wish you’d confided in me sooner.

Eric: I wasn’t ready, quinn.

Quinn: I understand.

Eric: Yeah.

Quinn: But now that you’ve finally made me aware of what you’re going through, you gotta let me help you through it. I’m your wife, eric.

Eric: I just don’t see a solution on the horizon. I don’T. I’ve done everything. I’ve talked to doctors, psychiatrists and I just– it’s still so hard to talk about.

Quinn: Well, you don’t have to talk about it. All you have to do is let me love you.

Paris: Wow, I can’t believe it. You and steffy never argue.

Finn: No, we didn’T. It wasn’t like that. It was worse. I broke her trust. I gave her my word that I would protect her and I failed.

Paris: Okay, finn, what exactly happened?

Finn: Steffy walked in on my birth mother holding hayes.

Paris: No. Wait, you’re serious? Sheila was here?

Ridge: You asked finn to leave? Why?

Steffy: I just needed some time to think. He’s spending the night in the guesthouse.

Ridge: Oh, well that’s surprising. You guys always seemed to be in sync.

Steffy: Yeah, we are. That’s not the problem.

Ridge: Well, whatever it is, I’m sure you’ll work it out and you’ll be better for it.

Steffy: The sad part is not about finn and me. Our relationship. It’s much worse than that, dad. It’s about sheila.

Quinn: You are a wonderful, loving, sexy man. And you’ve always fulfilled me in the past and I have no doubt that you will again.

Finn: I shouldn’t even have let her into the house, let alone let her hold hayes, our infant son, I mean that’s the most precious thing to steffy.

Paris: So, you didn’t think it through. But you didn’t mean any harm.

Finn: I just– I didn’t consider how dangerous it could be.

Paris: You thought it would be the end of it. The end of sheila in your life.

Finn: I just– I feel awful to have to put steffy through that, I mean after everything sheila has put her family through.

Paris: Yeah, steffy’s got a right to be mad.

Finn: She was just… so disappointed in me.

Paris: Okay, hey. I get it. You know, you made a bad decision and you didn’t think it through but it was a bad decision made by a good guy. A great guy. So, you know, don’t beat yourself up over this.

Finn: I swore up and down that I had everything under control. I mean, we had a whole discussion about it before steffy left on her trip. And what did I do? I went back on my word. And I disregarded her wishes. And I just assured her that everything was gonna be okay.

Paris: Finn, you didn’t ask for this. Alright, you didn’t ask to be sheila’s biological son. She carried you for nine months. And she’s a mystery woman in your life. And you haven’t met her and you meet her for the first time and it’s huge. So I understand why you feel so connected to her. I do.

Ridge: What about sheila?

Steffy: I made it clear to finn how crucial it was that she stayed out of our lives. And I don’t blame him, I mean, I can’t blame him that she’s his biological mom.

Ridge: No you can’T. That’s not his fault.

Steffy: And I don’t want to make him feel guilty that something that’s out of his hands, out of his control. But he promised me– he promised me that she wasn’t gonna be in our lives.

Ridge: What happened?

Steffy: Well, you know how I was supposed to go to san francisco on that business trip?

Ridge: Hope for the future, yeah.

Steffy: I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t–couldn’t go. I didn’t want to go.

Ridge: I get that. You have a new baby. You want to stay home.

Steffy: No. It wasn’t like that mom guilt. No, I had this like… I had this like, panic inside of me. I knew something was wrong, I mean, how could I? It’s like– sheila is out there and she could harm my children. And finn reassured me that nothing was gonna happen, I didn’t have to be afraid.

Ridge: What happened?

Steffy: I was on the plane and before we took off, there was a delay and my motherly intuition, it just kicked in and I knew I had to go, I had to bail. And I didn’t tell finn, I just– I wanted to surprise him but I was the one who got the surprise.

Ridge: Steffy, tell me.

Steffy: Sheila was here, dad. I walked in and sheila was here, in my living room.

Ridge: That monster was here in your house?

Steffy: It was my worst nightmare. Like the biggest thing I’ve ever feared. She was here.

Ridge: No, no, no, no.

Steffy: No, not only was she here, that psychopath was holding my little baby.

Ridge: She was holding hayes?

Steffy: Yes.

Ridge: Where was finn?

Steffy: He was here.

Ridge: He was here the whole time?

Steffy: He was here. He allowed it. He let it happen. -Finally, a make-up made -just for us

Ridge: So you’re telling me that finn allowed sheila to come here to your house, your home, after everything she’s done?

Steffy: He felt pressured.

Ridge: Pressured to do what? Have her hold my grandchild? Really? He knows who she is.

Steffy: I know–

Ridge: She’s caused nothing but havoc for this family.

Steffy: I thought he listened. I thought he understood–

Ridge: He doesn’t listen. Right? After everything we told him, he just ignored it.

Steffy: Finn’s dad was here, too.

Ridge: Jack was here? There’s something off with that guy.

Steffy: Finn said he and sheila were just– I don’t know, they were hounding him.

Ridge: Not an excuse.

Steffy: I know he’s not a bad guy, but maybe he just felt like he was–

Ridge: He was what?

Steffy: He felt like he was in the middle.

Ridge: He has one job. To take care of you, take care of the kids. That’s it. Nothing else.

Finn: I can still see the horror on steffy’s face.

Paris: I’m sorry, finn. This–this whole thing just sucks.

Finn: You know, I trusted my dad. He never steers me wrong.

Paris: I wonder what was going on in his head? Why he was so adamant about you meeting sheila?

Finn: He kept saying that he wasn’t just looking out for steffy and me, but our whole family.

Paris: How so?

Finn: Maybe he feels bad for sheila?

Paris: Because of the adoption?

Finn: Probably painful for her.

[ Sighing ] I know there was only one way to handle today. And I did the complete opposite. I caved. Why did I let myself be manipulated?

Paris: Finn–

Finn: No, paris. This was a colossal screw up. Why didn’t I just say no? Tell her to leave? Now, I’m away from my wife. And steffy’s lost faith in me.

Quinn: We can take this as slowly as you need to.

Eric: Quinn, I’m– I’m sorry. It’s just not gonna work.

Paris: Sheila and your pops put you in an impossible position.

Finn: I admitted to steffy that I wanted to see my birth mother one last time. I can’t help it.

Paris: That makes sense.

Finn: All my life, I… I’ve envisioned her. I have these… bonds, these, these wishes and thinking of what it could be and now it’s just turned into this big, ugly mess.

Paris: Well, I’m no therapist. But having experience in social work, I’ve witnessed a lot of loss. And you, my friend, you’re mourning a loss. The loss of the idea you had of her. The relationship you might have had.

Finn: Yeah. And– I just… I feel for her. You know, she just wanted one good memory with her grandson. But… that doesn’t matter. I owe it to my wife to stay true to her wishes.

Paris: I’m sure steffy kicked you out pretty fast.

Finn: She did, she– I tried apologizing again and again, but she’s heartbroken. And she feels betrayed. She says she couldn’t even look at me. Paris, this is stephanie, my wife. The mother of my child. She couldn’t even look at me. What have I done, paris? What have I done?

Ridge: How does finn do that? Give that woman even an ounce of sympathy?

Steffy: I don’t know what he was thinking. I don’t understand how he allowed himself to be talked into it.

Ridge: He’s a grown man, yes? Where’s his backbone?

Steffy: Dad, I’m as disappointed as you are. But he’s not a malicious guy.

Steffy: [ Sighs ] You knew how I felt about sheila. You knew that I never wanted her near our son. But yet I walk in here and she’s holding hayes.

Finn: I’m sorry. I– I didn’t invite her. My dad was convinced that if–

Steffy: It doesn’t matter, finn. The moment sheila walked in, you should have called the police. This woman is dangerous. She’s unpredictable. She’s– god, she’s a sociopath. She could’ve kidnapped our son, and we wouldn’t have seen him again. Like, how– how could you do that? How could you put him in harm’s way like that, finn? How could you?

Steffy: I’m gonna protect my son from you, sheila. We’re getting a restraining order, and you’re never gonna see finn, hayes, or me never again!

[ Banging ]

Jack: Why are you still here?

Sheila: Excuse me?

Jack: You swore if you saw finn, held your grandson just once, you’d leave. You got what you wanted. Now go.

Paris: I’m distracting you.

Paris: Um, just another day at work? [ Laughs ] I’m just wondering how many women have you kissed here at forrester.

Zende: You’re curious about the women I’ve kissed.

Paris: Do you even remember how many?

Zende: I don’t know. Let’s see. There was, um, debbie jarrett.

Sheila: Yeah, well, I distinctly remember you not getting enough of me. Coming to my place and throwing me up against the wall. You couldn’t get enough.

Jack: That was a lifetime ago.

Sheila: But I vividly remember the night that I told you I was pregnant. Your deepest secret that I have kept all these years: You, finn’s biological father.

Finn: I never would have allowed sheila to take our son.

Steffy: This is our home. This is our safe place, our sanctuary. But it didn’t feel that way anymore because sheila was in here and she was holding our son. That is a huge– a huge violation for me. I asked one thing of you– to care for our son while I was gone. And the one thing I feared the most you allowed to happen. The man I trust. The man who vowed to keep our child safe. The man who said he wasn’t gonna let anyone interfere in our family and our happiness. I mean, those were your words. That’s what you said, finn. You said that.

[ Sighs ] I get that sheila is your biological mother. But I am your wife, and you knew that I would never allow her in here, but you did. Can you please explain that to me?

Sheila: You know what? I–I sacrificed for you. No, you and li couldn’t conceive, so I let you raise my son. Li’s the only mother that finn has ever known until now.

Jack: I was never gonna leave my wife for you. You knew that.

Sheila: And you were never gonna tell li that you fathered your son with another woman. So, you know, don’t stand there acting like I’m the only one that’s ever done anything wrong.

Jack: Are you finished?

Sheila: Oh, I’m sure you’d like it if I were, wouldn’t you? Because you don’t like being reminded of what you& have to lose. Your marriage. Your relationship with finn. But that’s what it comes down to. You stand to lose everything if you’re not very careful.

Steffy: Sheila was standing in our home holding our innocent little boy. That never should’ve happened. You should’ve shut your dad down the minute he told you what she wanted.

Finn: I did. He just–he– he kept pushing, and he insisted that I give her this one chance, and if I did, sheila promised that she’d be out of our lives forever. You know, and I know that what’s you wanted.

Steffy: You’re saying you did this for me?

Finn: I thought it would be worth it if you never had to deal with sheila again.

Steffy: That’s what she was counting on. She used it to get access to our son. She manipulated jack, and she manipulated you.

Finn: I guess I just… was hoping that–

Steffy: Hoping what? That she wasn’t the same person who tried to kill my mom, brooke, andmade my grandmother’s life a living hell? Because people like sheila, they don’t change.

Finn: I understand that. Okay? And if sheila wasn’t my birth mother, but… she is. And despite everything that she’s done… deep down, I guess I just– I wanted to see my birth mother one last time.

Steffy: [ Scoffs ]

Zende: You are, uh, really impressed with finn.

Paris: I mean, he’s an impressive guy. He’s a great dad, a wonderful doctor, a loving and attentive husband. Oh, the way that he treats steffy. I mean, true, he is lucky to have married someone as terrific as her, but she did all right for herself. I mean–I mean, better than all right.

Paris: Finn’s the total package. Not to mention, he’s not a bad-looking package.

Jack: Damn it, sheila! I am tired of this.

Sheila: You wanna know what I’m tired of? I’m tired of everyone attacking me, jack. You giving me ultimatums and steffy hell-bent on keeping me out of finn and hayes’s lives. She even had the audacity to slap me twice. But since when has violence solved anything?

Steffy: I realize you always wondered about your birth mother. Under normal circumstances, I totally support you gettig to know her. But sheila’s anything but normal.

Finn: That still doesn’t change the fact that she gave birth to me. Or the part of me that… wanted to see her again. You shot steffy’s mother, for god sakes. Well, she’s my daughter-in-law now, and finn loves her. I’m not gonna let you put a strain on their marriage, ruin the best thing that’s happened to him in years. So either you keep your promise as you said you’d do, or–

Sheila: Or what, jack? What are you gonna do about it?

Jack: We made a deal. You got to see finn one more time, hold hayes. I came through for you, and guess what. Now you’re gonna come through for me. You will never tell li about our past, and you will never tell anyone how finn was conceived, how he came to be adopted by my wife and me. You will take our little secret to the grave, sheila. You hear me? To the grave.

Steffy: I know you intentionally didn’t go behind my back, inviting sheila over, knowing that I was out of town, but–

Finn: That was my dad. He just–he felt that if she got this one chance– sheila saw me and hayes this one last time– that it would be enough.

Steffy: Nothing is ever enough when it comes to sheila. Telling your father that was just a way for her to get her foot in the door with you and our son, and that’s what really scares me. I’m terrified knowing what she’s gonna do next, what she’s planning, how is she gonna try to contact you.

Finn: That’s not gonna happen.

Steffy: You swore that she would never come near you or our son. She’s never going to be satisfied, finn. She’s not, now that she’s held our son. She’s gonna try to insinuate herself into his life, and I’m not gonna let that happen.

Finn: Neither will I, steffy, ever again.

Steffy: You don’t know all the terrible things this woman has done to me and my family. She deprived me of my mom for years. Like, I think about it often what life would have been like without sheila carter. And to know what my son might go through now that she’s back here, it’s terrifying. Look, I know that she gave birth to you. Well, her blood is in you, and it’s in our innocent little boy. I love you, finn, and I was excited about our future together. But learning that you have this tie to sheila… that she was in our home holding our child… as much it pains me to say this… I can’t even look at you right now. I can’T. Knowing the pain you caused.

Finn: Do you need some time alone?

Steffy: [ Sighs ]

Finn: I’ll just, um– I can go in the guest house, and I can give you the night. But… please believe me when I tell you this, that… I’m truly sorry. And I really love you. And I love our family. And I love our life together.

[Door closes]

Finn: What have I done?

Jack: No, it’s my fault. I’ll take the blame.

Finn: How? I’m the one who broke her trust, not you.

Sheila: I–I’m the one. I shouldn’t have put you in this position. I–I think I can make her understand what’s happening.

Finn: No, please. Okay, I–I just… I think it’s best if you leave.

Sheila: No, but we have something in common. Mother to mother, I think i can–I can make her understand. I really do. At least give me a chance. Please, son, I got you into this mess. Let me try and get you out of it.

[Liam sighs]

Liam: Uh, um…

Hope: Surprise.

Liam: Um…

Hope: [Laughs]

Hope: I got your text. Missing me like crazy. I mean, I can’t have you& going through that.

Liam: How did–

Hope: And here I thought I would be interrupting some kind of crazy party.

Hope: And then the flight was delayed… and then delayed, and then delayed some more. And then steffy bailed and then after sitting on the tarmac for two more hours, I decided it was probably time to reschedule.

Liam: Well…good.

[Both laugh] This is such a great surprise.

Hope: Yeah, well, I’m sure it is for everyone, especially finn. You remember what it was like to be a new father. Having hayes all by himself, I bet he was relieved to see steffy walk through that door.

Jack: I thought steffy was supposed to be leaving town.

Finn: Yeah, she was.

Jack: So what could’ve happened? Why would she come home?

Finn: I have no idea, dad. As far as I know, steffy was supposed to be on a plane.

Steffy: Until I had a bad feeling. A feeling I shouldn’t be on that plane, but it never never occurred to me I’d be walking in on this–sheila holding our son!

Sheila: Don’t get angry with finn. I can explain everything, steffy.

Steffy: No, there’s no explanation for this! None! You had one job! To keep our child safe. You said you understood. You agreed. You agreed not to have sheila in our lives. How could you do this? Steffy: Why would you do that? Why would you do that? You know how dangerous she is. You kept her secret from him because you were trying to protect your son. My son deserves protection too.

Jack: Exactly what finn and i are trying to do. She just wants to hold hayes this one time, then she’ll leave. She’ll be gone from your lives forever. I wanted finn to let her in so that you would never have to deal with her again.

Steffy: You are so naive, both of you are!

Finn: Look, she promised that she would–

Steffy: Promise? Promises don’t mean a damn thing to her! You can’t believe anything she says.

Sheila: No, but I meant it, steffy. I did. Jack came to see me and he demanded that I leave town and I said that I would, that I would leave all of you alone… but I did want something in return. I wanted to meet my grandson.

Steffy: You were just gonna see him and leave? And be gone forever? You weren’t gonna do that. That’s bull. You have some messed up plan to infiltrate our lives.

Sheila: Now, do I want to– do I want to know my son, my grandson? Of course. But there’s no plan. I’m just hoping that maybe one day–

Steffy: Do you see what she’s doing right now? Do you see what she’s doing? She’s lying to you. She’s manipulating you. And you’re blatantly falling for it. You are! You snuck her in here while I was gone.

Finn: It wasn’t like that.

Steffy: Yeah.

Jack: Don’t blame finn. It was all me. He didn’t want to let her in. He respects your wishes, steffy. He knows she’S… some kind of a threat.

Steffy: No, he doesn’T. Otherwise she wouldn’t be here. Wow, the extreme lack of judgment on both of you, it’s just–it’s wild.

Jack: Maybe we were manipulated, I don’t know, but it was worth taking a chance. I want her gone from all of our lives. This seemed like the way to do it. I understand that you’re not happy, and you don’t understand all this, but I was looking out for your family and mine. I want to be rid of her for once and for all.

Sheila: And you’re gonna be. I meant it when I said that. It was just one last time. I wanted to see finn, and I wanted to hold my grandson. And then I’ll be gone. You know, there’s gotta be something in you that understands this, steffy. You’re a mom. I, uh… I wonder if you can even imagine having a child and then walking away from him forever? Giving up my son was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. And yet, here I stand with everyone asking me to do it again. All I wanted to do was to see finn… and to hold his son in my arms. Was there anything really wrong with that? I think you know that there wasn’T. So please, steffy… mother to mother… you have to know how much I needed this. Pool floaties are like whooping cough.

Steffy: No, not a chance. No.

Sheila: Oh, for… for finn? For hayes?

Steffy: No. No, no, no. It would be a great gift for them, steffy.

Steffy: Not for hayes. You are never gonna see hayes again. You’re never gonna hold him. Never. If either one of you think I’m freaking out right now, it’s because this woman shot my grandmother and left her to die.

Sheila: You were too young to even understand.

Steffy: Understand that you kidnapped a child? I could’ve walked in here and both of you could’ve been dead, hayes gone. Like, you don’t even know–

Steffy: …Crazy things she’s done to my family, and I walk in here–I walk in here, and this woman, who’s committed many crimes, is holding our son. That is unforgivable.

Sheila: Look, I don’t want to make you more upset than you already are. Clearly you have such a–a– a narrow perspective of why I did the things that I had to do.

Steffy: [Scoffs]

Sheila: And clearly you worshipped your grandmother. You’re her namesake. But stephanie was not kind to me.

Steffy: Oh, don’t, don’T…

Sheila: No, she wasn’T.

Steffy: Do not do that. Do not try to turn this around. See, this is what she does. She manipulates you. She’s manipulating you right now. Don’t you see it? I see it in your eyes, your face. You’re just evil. And I hope none of that sickness is in my son.

Sheila: Sickness?

Steffy: I’m gonna protect my son from you, sheila.

Sheila: I told you, you don’t need to protect anyone. I’ll stay away.

Steffy: You’d better or I’m calling the police, and you’re going to jail. We’re getting a restraining order, and you’re never gonna see finn, hayes, or me, the entire forrester family. Never again.

Hope: Well, that was all the confirmation I needed.

Liam: [Stammers] What confirmation?

Hope: That I made the right decision getting off that plane.

Liam: Oh. Yes. Well, I’m always very supportive& of any decision you make that leads to… to what just happened here.

[Laughs]

Hope: So you said the kids aren’t going to be dropped off?

Liam: Kids? We have kids?! What? W–

Hope: [Laughs] I mean, don’t get me wrong, I am excited to surprise them, but I also am really enjoying this time alone with my husband in his arms.

Sheila: My motivation was love.

Steffy: Love? If you truly loved him, truly, then you would stay away. If you care about finn, prove it… by never contacting him again.

Sheila: You haven’t been listening, steffy. This is what I’ve been trying to tell you all along.

Steffy: He shouldn’t be subjected to you or your depravity. He is a good, honest man. He has never let me down. Well, until now. This is my home. This is my family. Not yours. You need to leave, now. Hope: Well, it’s not like they can start without us.

Steffy: What kind of weather is holding us up?

Hope: Well, I can check.

Steffy: No, no, you don’t have to do that. It’s not gonna change anything. I just hate being captive.

[Sighs] You seem so zen.

Hope: Well, for once, I’m not worried about what’s going on at home right now, whereas you… you have every right to be.

Steffy: It just makes me feel so nervous that sheila is out there. I don’t know. I’m starting to think that I-I-I should miss the meeting and go home to be with finn and the kids.

Sheila: Finn?

Finn: I can’t believe this. She’s outside our door. This can’t happen.

Jack: Don’t you see it’s the perfect opportunity? Steffy’s on a plane. Kelly’s with a sitter. It’s just you and me here.

Finn: No.

Jack: Sheila will be in and out before you know it. Just let her see you and hayes, and she’ll be gone for good. It’s what’s best, finn, for your family and ours.

Brooke: Eric, have you forgotten what she did?

Eric: No. I’m glad to say that my brain is working just fine.

Ridge: No one is saying anything about your brain. She had an affair with carter under your nose.

Brooke: She turned to another man, and why? No good reason as far as I can see.

Eric: Look, you don’t you don’t know what was going on between us.

Brooke: Oh, so you’re saying that she’s justified in sleeping with carter?

Eric: No, I’m saying that I bear some responsibility for this.

Brooke: Oh, god.

Ridge: How is that? You’re–that’s not true.

Eric: I pushed her right into carter’s arms.

Brooke: Oh, eric, please stop. There’s no good reason for her to betray you like that.

Eric: It’s way more complicated than either one of you realizes. The point is quinn is still my wife.

Quinn: Eric and I have faced challenges before. This time won’t be any different.

Hope: I really thought we’d seen the last of sheila.

Steffy: You know what scares me? There’s a blood tie, and that means she’s never gonna be gone.

Hope: But you told finn to keep her away, right?

Steffy: Yeah, but he can only try so much. It’s sheila we’re talking about. She’s relentless.

Hope: You’re really worried, aren’t you?

Steffy: Yeah, of course I am. You know what she’s capable of. She’s hayes’ biological grandmother. I don’t think she’s gonna disappear.

Hope: Well, maybe she will for finn. I mean, he’s her son after all, and I could understand her wanting to stay on decent terms with him, even if it is for selfish reasons, but I mean, does finn even want to get to know sheila for himself?

Steffy: That can’t happen. He needs to keep her as far away from hayes as possible.

Sheila: How long am i supposed to wait out here?

Jack: 10 minutes. That’s all I’m asking. Go get hayes. I’ll let sheila in. We’ll meet in the middle. Give her her moment. She’ll be history.

Finn: That can’t happen.

Jack: Damn it, it has to.

Sheila: I wanna hold my grandson in my arms just once.

Jack: Just impossible. Finn and steffy would never allow it.

Sheila: Jack, you have to make it happen, then your secret will be safe. Your life will never change.

Jack: Because I want her out of our lives as much as steffy and the forresters do, believe me, and this is how we accomplish that. I know what I’m talking about, finn. I got rid of sheila before. Just give her this one moment, and we’ll never have to deal with her again.

Finn: There’s no way you can be sure of that.

Jack: You think barging in here without being invited is helping your cause?

Finn: You can’t be here. You gotta go.

Sheila: Well, it hurts me to hear you say that, but I understand. I really– I really do.

Sheila: You’ve heard nothing but terrible things about me, finn, but please listen to your father. He’s telling you the truth. I just wanted to see you one more time and hold my grandson. Look, we’re halfway there. I’m standing here. I’m looking at you. All that’s left is for you to put hayes in my arms. Please, finn. Just allow me this one thing. Moment of truth.

Quinn: Look, I know you don’t approve of me or particularly like me. You hate that my portrait is on the wall and that I’m back in this house.

Brooke: Eric never should have married you in the first place.

Quinn: Well, he did, brooke, for better or for worse. And that means sometimes challenges come up, and we face them together, right?

Eric: Absolutely.

Ridge: So just so I understand, so sleeping with another man is just another challenge?

Quinn: Are you gonna say that? I mean, what, your marriage to brooke has been smooth sailing this whole time? Neither of you has ever strayed? Yeah, I don’t think you wanna go there. Look, I appreciate that you always think about eric with concern, but he’s a grown man. And he doesn’t need you to dictate his life to him. Besides, there is a lot more going on here that you don’t know about, so if you really care about your father, you will just let him be.

[Jet roaring]

Steffy: Okay, I think this is the universe telling me something. I can’t go. I can’t do this. I gotta be home with finn and the kids. I’m sorry to bail on you.

Hope: No, it’s okay. Go with your gut. I will handle the meeting.

Hope: Don’t worry about it.

Steffy: Well, maybe I should call finn, tell him I’m on the way.

Hope: Or you could always surprise him.

Finn: I don’t wanna sound harsh, but you can’t be here.

Sheila: I understand. I really do. Steffy and the forresters think I’m evil incarnate. I’m sure steffy laid down the law saying that under no circumstances am I to go anywhere near you or hayes. But I’m here now. Steffy’s not. Jack told me that she’s– she’s out of town. She’s–she’s never gonna know that I saw my grandson.

Finn: I can’t betray steffy’s trust.

Sheila: You’re a good man, finn… an honorable one. I am so proud of you. You know, when I saw you at your wedding, it– it took my breath away. I’ve been waiting decades for that moment, though. Brooke: Eric, don’t you remember how you felt when you found out about quinn and carter? You were hurt, and you were betrayed. She had an affair with a man that you treat like family, that you work with every single day. How can you forgive her for that?

Eric: Okay, listen to me. Listen to me, both of you. A lot goes on in a life of a couple that’s not meant for public consumption, and you know it. Now I appreciate you coming here trying to protect me, but I don’t need that. Quinn is my wife. I love her. She lights up my world. Quinn: I’m sorry, sweetheart, that you had to go through that, just after you finally confessed to me about your E.D.

Eric: Yeah. You know, I meant what I said. I adore you. You’ve brought so much joy and passion into my life. I’m just afraid I’m not gonna be able to return it in kind.

Quinn: And I meant what I said. This is just another challenge, and we know how to work with those, right? Together as husband and wife. We’re gonna get through this.

Sheila: Look at you, how handsome you are, an accomplished doctor. I can’t believe that you actually came from me. I… I was in a troubled place back then, but there’s one thing that I did do that was good, and that was giving you up so that you wouldn’T… be tainted by my instability. You had a great life, I mean, being raised by li and jack, and I’m grateful. I really am grateful. I never could have given you that. I was too confused, too– too self-centered. But I’m not that woman anymore. But I can and I will put your wishes first. I’m not asking for a permanent place in your life, finn. I’m just asking for a moment, just a moment to hold my grandson. Finn: You swear that if i give you this, this moment, that you’ll leave? Steffy and the forresters, they will never have to worry about you again?

Sheila: I’ll leave, and I promise I’ll never come back. Oh. Oh. [Gasps] Oh. Thank you.

Hope: Get stuck in traffic?

Steffy: Uh no, just uh, running late. I apologize.

Hope: Oh steffy, you have a lot going on. I appreciate you even being able to make this meeting.

Steffy: Yeah, I wish I could be more excited about going to san francisco.

Hope: Well, it must be hard to leave finn and the kids right now.

Steffy: You have no idea. I just keep imagining all the terrible things that could go wrong.

Finn: You want me to let sheila come in here to meet my son? You can’t be serious.

Jack: She won’t stay long.

Finn: Stay long? No. Dad. Absolutely not.

Jack: Just hear me out.

Finn: What you’re suggesting is crazy.

Jack: I don’t blame you for feeling that way. But I’m telling you, finn, it has to be done.

Sheila: It’s gonna happen. Today, I finally get to hold my grandson.

Quinn: This is nothing to be ashamed about.

Eric: But I am. I am ashamed. I’m ashamed that I let you believe you were the problem when there was so much else going on.

Quinn: Well, I mean, I thought you didn’t want me anymore, that you didn’t desire me–

Ridge: Excited about what?

Carter: He called off the divorce from quinn.

Eric: I should have told you. I should have told you but I couldn’t talk about it!

Quinn: Oh eric. Come on, your life has been one crisis after another, after another for months. Starting with me and your family, I mean– that can affect anyone’s sex life. But we’re back together now and I’m sure, in time we’ll–

Eric: No, no, it’s not that simple. It’s not that simple!

Quinn: Are you sure?

Eric: Yes, I’m sure! It doesn’t matter how I feel. How much I want you, quinn. This isn’t going to change. You have to know that the man you came home to is not the man you married. I’m sorry!

Hope: You know, you’d think the kids would be the ones with the separation anxiety, but… nope.

[ Chuckling ]

Steffy: So, it’s not just me.

Hope: Absolutely not. I mean, it’s perfectly understandable that you would feel this way. It’s your first trip away from hayes. And you and finn, you’re still newlyweds.

Steffy: Okay when you put it that way I don’t even think I should be going on this trip.

[ Laughs ]

Hope: It will be fine. We’ll be back home tomorrow.

Steffy: I know this is a normal feeling but unfortunately, that’s not the only reason I’m nervous about going away.

Jack: Just give sheila this chance to meet hayes and you won’t have to worry about her anymore.

Finn: Dad, my in-laws are doing everything they can to make sure that will never happen.

Jack: I know– I know it seems like a risk–

Finn: Do you not understand how dangerous sheila is?

Jack: Yeah. I do. And I know I’m putting you in a difficult position but if you want to protect your family and keep sheila out of your lives, this is the way. Maybe the only way. Just give her this and she’ll be gone. Forever. I’ve lost count of how many asthma attacks I’ve had.

Brooke: Ugh, god. It had to be quinn. There’s no other way this could have happened. Eric wanted that divorce.

Ridge: That’s how I remember it. It’s got to be quinn, right?

Carter: I can assure you this is 100% eric’s decision.

Ridge: But how is it his decision? Has he seen quinn? She hasn’t been around the office!

Brooke: Has she been going over to his house? Has she been calling him?

Carter: No, no, I don’t think so. No.

Brooke: You’re his lawyer. Why would he have you draw up the papers if he wasn’t going to sign them?

Carter: He saw the papers and he started thinking about what he was doing and what he wanted.

Ridge: And what he wants now is quinn! Yeah?

Carter: I don’t blame you for being shocked. I was, too. And so was quinn. More than anyone.

Brooke: Oh my god, I don’t believe that for a second!

Carter: I was there when she saw her portrait. Her reaction was genuine. She was deeply moved.

Brooke: Yeah, because she was relieved. Her plan worked.

Carter: I’m telling you; this was eric’s decision. He’s fully committed to quinn, the marriage isn’t over and I hope you both can find a way to be happy for them, because I am.

[ Chuckles ]

Brooke: You are? You’re actually happy for them? You have no reservations about their reunion, whatsoever?

Quinn: This doesn’t change how I feel about you, the kind of man that you are.

Eric: It’s not what you expected.

[ Quinn chuckles ] It’s not what you expected when you decided to come home.

Quinn: I didn’t expect any of this. I thought our story was over. I didn’t even think I’d be welcome back in this house ever, even as a guest. But, you forgave me. That’s the kind of man that you are. Compassionate and understanding. It’s what drew me to you in the first place.

Eric: But we never had trouble in the bedroom.

Quinn: No, we didn’t until I screwed up. I broke promises to you–&

Eric: No, no, no, no. That’s not it. That’s not everything that happened. That’s what I want to tell you. Look, the reason I didn’t tell you how sexy you are and wonderful and how much I want you is because I couldn’t do anything about it–

Steffy: Well, I’ve never been good at avoiding the subject.

Steffy: We’re trying to. But it definitely caught us off guard. We were ready to start our new life together. And now, finn and i have to protect our family from the most dangerous woman I’ve ever met.

[Ominous strings instrumental ]

[ Sheila sighs ]

Sheila: I want to look perfect today when I meet my family. I want little baby hayes to look up at me from my arms and just know that that’s the face of his grandmother.

Jack: Today is perfect. Steffy’s on a plane to san francisco. Kelly’s not here.

Finn: Kelly’s on a playdate. She’s gonna be gone all afternoon…

Jack: So, while you’re alone with hayes, sheila can stop by, hold her grandson and be gone before anyone’s the wiser. And then she’s out of our lives for good.

Finn: The forresters would be furious with us for even discussing this. There is no way I’m allowing sheila to come in here to see hayes. You can’t control what happens when they leave home,

Brooke: Eric ripped up the divorce papers and you’re not handling the case anymore, so you might as well tell us how you really feel.

Ridge: You’re closer to this than any of us.

Carter: Look, your father believes quinn is special. He sees a fascinating, beautiful, ambitious, accomplished woman and she brings excitement to his life. And he gives her a sense of stability and comfort. Look, when they were good together, they were very happy. So, if they get a second chance at that, then I wish them the best.

Brooke: Is that really what you’re hoping for? Because the way you’re talking about her… almost sounded like you were falling for her. Have you?

Eric: Look, I’m– I’m sorry. I didn’t realize how– how much I was pushing you away. And I pushed you away so far, that it drove you into the arms of another man… and I’m–

Quinn: I– I didn’t think you desired me anymore. I mean, every time I would reach out to you, I could feel you recoil.

Eric: You were reaching out for a connection, for– for touch– things that we all need.

Quinn: You know, there is more than one way to experience those things.

Eric: Yes, I know and– and… when I was looking at the divorce papers, I realized, “what am I doing? I love her. I don’t wan to divorce her.” And so I realized, I had to– I had to tell you– I had to tell you the truth.

Quinn: And I am so grateful that you did.

Eric: I’m the one who drove the wedge between us. I am!

Quinn: No, no, no, I don’t want to talk about who’s to blame anymore. You know, when you invited me to come back into this house, you said you wanted to move forward.

Eric: Yes, and I do. Quinn, I don’t want us to have to hide anything from each other. I don’t want us to hide things even if– I don’t want to keep any secrets, even things that we’re ashamed of. I want us to be completely honest and I want you to know I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.

Steffy: The pilot knows I’m on board.

Hope: I don’t know why we haven’t taken off yet but look, steffy, if there is anything I can do to make this trip easier for you, you just say let me know. I know you’re probably processing a lot right now, I mean, who could have imagined that sheila carter would turn out to be your husband’s birth mother?

[ Cellphone dinging ]

Jack: I already texted sheila. Told her to come over.

Finn: Dad, what you’re asking is out of the question.

Jack: No one will know.

Finn: You want me to do this thing and then lie about it? Dad, what has gotten into you? You know I can’t have sheila coming over here to see hayes. I won’t do it.

Jack: You have to.

Finn: Why? What’s going on? Why are you pushing for this?

Jack: Because so much is at stake, finn. More than you know.

Steffy: You did? Oh, kelly would’ve loved that. Amelia took her and hayes to the park.

Finn: Oh, so does that mean I get my beautiful wife all to myself?

Steffy: I know… last night was amazing.

Finn: Mm.

Steffy: We really needed that.

Finn: Well yeah, especially since you’re leaving me for san francisco.

Steffy: I know, but it’s only for a night. I have to go with hope. You know, deal with hope for the future. I hate being away from you and the kids.

Finn: Me too, but I’ll be here holding down the fort.

Steffy: I know you will. It just makes me feel uneasy that sheila’s out there… somewhere.

Sheila: You know, I kept quiet about our affair… and about finn all of finn’s life.

Jack: What do you want, sheila? What do you want?

Sheila: All I want to do is see finn, one more time and to see my grandson and hold him in my arms and then I am out of your life, forever.

Li: What are you gonna do, jack?

Eric: But you were sleeping so… soundly, I didn’t want to disturb.

Li: Jack. It’s okay. You’ve been honest and truthful with me our entire marriage. The only secret you kept was that finn’s birth mother approached you after we adopted finn. Do I wish you had told me back then? Yes, of course, I do. But I can forgive that. I know you were only just trying to protect us. I love you.

[ Knocking ]

Sheila: Hey keith!

Carter: Miss carter.

Finn: We agreed to put sheila out of our minds and focus on the two of us.

Keith: Well, okay. Okay, good for you. Either way, it seems like he means a lot.

Keith: Been a long time since you’ve seen one another?

Jack: I feel terrible about that. But I am convinced that sheila will soon be out of our lives.

Steffy: Hayes has a full belly and he’s already back in dreamland.

Finn: Did you sing him a lullaby to get him down?

Steffy: No, he, uh, he requested a nursery rhyme. What do you think, he’s trying to tell me something?

[ Laughing ] So, handsome, um, would you mind if I head to the office? I want to talk to my father and figure out where things stand with the whole restraining order. I know sheila is your birth mom, but we just have to be careful. I just want to make sure she doesn’t stop by here. We need to think about hayes. Okay, let’s just, let’s just stop talking about sheila altogether. You know what I want to talk about? I want to talk about my sexy, handsome, doctor husband. That’s who I want to focus on.

Carter: Need to get that restraining order against sheila. Ridge made it very clear.

Quinn: Yeah, for good reason. I mean, sheila’s been making the forresters’ lives a living hell for years, even when I was married to eric.

[ Phone dinging ] Oh. My divorce papers have been finalized, but you already knew that, didn’t you?

Carter: Yeah, I, um, I didn’t know how to tell you. Today is the day.

Paris: Are you sure you guys don’t want to take a few days to just be alone? You could drive up the coast and stay in a romantic b&b, or amelia and i could take the kids–

Steffy: That’s, that’s really sweet, and we’d probably take you up on it, but you know, with everything going on…

Paris: Yeah, I, I get it. Now is not the right time, with the shocking appearance from finn’s birth mother, but I am glad to see it didn’t put a damper on your romance. Not that anything could.

Ridge: So, how’s it feel? Free of quinn?

Eric: Ridge, you all warned me about this. You all told me if I married this woman, I’d be sorry. Brooke told, everybody who cared about me–

Ridge: Well, it doesn’t matter now.

Eric: No? There’s not a small part of you that wants to say, “I told you so, dad”?

Ridge: Don’t do that, no, there is not. I know you don’t take divorce lightly.

Eric: No, I don’t, and I never will.

Carter: I was thinking that if your marriage to eric is truly over…

Quinn: It is. I mean, the divorce papers are finalized, as you know.

Carter: Yeah.

Quinn: There’s only one thing left for eric and me to do, and that’s to sign them and then, it’s official.

Carter: That’s how it works. Look, quinn, um, we fought so hard not to give into these, to these feelings. You loved eric, and I was loyal to him and ridge. We tried to stay apart, but there is this, this pull that we ultimately couldn’t deny, and you’re about to sign these divorce papers, and once you do, you’ll be free. But I guess, what I’m trying to say is that I don’t, I don’t want our relationship to be a secret anymore. This is new special k dipped.

Steffy: Amelia’s on her way. She’s gonna take care of hayes, while I’m at work.

Finn: You don’t trust his old man to watch him?

Steffy: No wait, you said you wanted to go surfing. Amelia can pitch in.

Paris: Or I could, I totally don’t mind.

Steffy: No, girl, you said you want to go to the beach, no way.

Finn: Well, I am already missing my beautiful bride.

Steffy: Oh, I feel terrible. You met your birth mom, only to find out who she really is.

Ridge: Despite how things ended, there was a time when you and quinn were happy, when she was a loving and loyal wife.

Eric: She was. Although, I’m surprised to hear you say that, given what she did with you and brooke.

Ridge: This is not about what she did to us, it’s what she did to you with carter.

Eric: No, just, keep it away from carter, alright? Let’s not talk about–

Ridge: I know, I’m just not, not sure she would want to throw away everything you worked for.

Eric: She was unhappy, ridge. She felt rejected because I was unable to give her what she felt she should have from me. I wasn’t able to do that for her. Sometimes, I think that I am the one who shoved her towards carter.

Ridge: Don’t ever say that again. She went to somebody else. It’s on her, and not you. You have to understand something. You’re not alone in this. I know how hard it is for you, but we’re here, we’re all here. Your family is here, you understand, right?

Eric: You need to go to the office, go on.

Quinn: Carter, what are you saying?

Carter: I’m saying that I don’t want us to be a secret anymore. I don’t want us to sneak around. And I know what you’re gonna say, that if we do this, eric will fire me.

Quinn: He will!

Carter: What happens at forresters’ happens.

Quinn: Okay, it’s not vegas. Come on. You’re gonna lose your job, everything you’ve worked so hard for, you’re just gonna sacrifice?

Carter: I don’t know if you know this, but I am a brilliant, successful attorney, quinn. I’ll find a great job somewhere else.

Carter: No, no, no. This is what we need to do. The thought of not being with you, I can’t accept that, and we can’t let other people dictate our lives, who we should be with. I’m tired of hiding. I want the whole world to know what we have together. You’d never want leftover onion residue

Carter: I hate to see you leave, but eric has the divorce papers, and I know it’s not going to be easy saying goodbye to a life, to a man you once cared about, but I promise I’ll have something special for you when you get home.

Steffy: Yeah, I, I still can’t believe what happened at my wedding reception. It was the most beautiful day until that lunatic showed up.

Paris: I cannot get over living in malibu.

Finn: Yeah, it’s pretty amazing. The ocean breeze, the sea air, it really does help clear your head. Well, getting pummeled by the waves has the same effect.

Paris: Stop, you rode those waves like a champ.

Finn: Oh, you should see steffy. According to ridge, she was a real water baby growing up. Alright, I’m gonna check on amelia and the kids.

Paris: Finn, look, I know you went surfing to take your mind off all of this, but with your birth mother showing up, and the fallout– and if I’m overstepping, please tell me– but, how are you doing?

Quinn: Eric. Hi.

Eric: I didn’t hear the doorbell.

Quinn: I was assuming you were expecting me.

Eric: I was.

[ Sighing ]

Quinn: Wow. Well, that gives me a hint as to what’s gonna happen.

Eric: Well, this was at steffy’s request. She wanted her grandmother present at her wedding ceremony. The two of them shared something, very, very special.

Quinn: So did we, when we were married. Look, I meant it when I said I’m done apologizing, but it doesn’t mean I don’t still hate myself for hurting you the way I did. You’re a man like no one I’ve ever known before. You’re kind, compassionate, decent to a fault. Part of me is always gonna, always gonna love and care about you.

Ridge: We’ll have the restraining order by the end of the day, and if sheila gets near to you or hayes, she’ll end up in prison, where she belongs.

Like, how is that possible? How is that possible that she shares the same dna as my son? I’m gonna do everything in my power to make sure that sheila stays away from finn and my children.

Paris: Next time you go out to clear your mind, you should take baby hayes with you. I know steffy thinks he is too young, but I am sure he would love a ride on daddy’s surfboard.

Eric: Your relationship with carter, I’m not certain I’m ever really going to understand it completely.

Quinn: We didn’t set out to deceive anyone. It’s just circumstances drew us together. But, hurting you, being unfaithful to you is… I’m gonna regret that for the rest of my life. And, I know you probably don’t believe me, but it’s true.

Eric: I believe you. I do, I can hear it in your voice, and I, I also believe you when you say that a part of you will always love me.

Quinn: Yeah, you, you gave me the best years of my life. I’m gonna, I’m gonna cherish those memories. And, once we sign those papers, that’s, that’s exactly what our marriage is gonna be, just, just a bunch of memories. You know, I don’t want to make this any more painful for us than it already is, so I’m gonna, I’m just gonna sign this so that you can–

Eric: Quinn, don’t, don’T. I’ve been thinking a lot about us, and about my part, the part I played in, in… pushing you away to carter, and what the two of you did together. How I shut down physically and emotionally and I denied you the affection and the contact that you deserved, that any woman deserves from a husband. I was thinking about this woman who came into my life, and what you brought to me, and how happy we were together, and how we were alone against everybody else in the world. It was a happy time, and it didn’t bother us. Together, we could build a wonderful future, a happy, wonderful future together, no matter what, no matter what.

Ridge: Sheila’s son is married to my daughter. How is that possible?

Steffy: Another cup of coffee, my husband?

Finn: I want something hotter.

Steffy: Oh?

Finn: My wife. I could kiss you forever.

Carter: What happened?

Carter: Restraining order?

Ridge: I want that maniac nowhere near our zip code.

[ Mouthing ]

Ridge: Sheila carter.

Finn: I’d never met my birth mother before. I didn’t know anything about her. The last thing I expected was her showing up on our wedding day.

Steffy: Yeah, under normal circumstances, it would have been another reason to celebrate. Finn, having this connection with his mom, the same day that we were starting our new life together, like it, it almost felt like it could have been kismet.

Paris: Hm, but I’m not getting that vibe.

Steffy: So, I don’t know how much you know about my family, but a lot of bad things have happened, and a lot of it is due to finn’s birth mother. I wish I could be happy for my husband. I want to be happy for you. I wish you could get to know the woman who gave birth to you, that she could have a place here, but I can’T. This woman, your birth mother, has caused so much damage in my life that I, I can’t even fully describe.

Eric: Sheila forrester.

Sheila: Say that again.

Eric: Sheila…forrester.

Sheila: I’m your wife, you know, I can’t get over it.

Ridge: I can’t get into all that right now, just know that finn is adopted, and well, he’s never met his biological parents, so…

Ridge: Sheila claims she is finn’s birth mother.

Carter: That, that can’t be true.

Ridge: We didn’t think so, but it almost seems like now she is telling the truth for the first time in her miserable life.

Eric: Carter, it’s eric. Brooke is here too. Look, we’re concerned about how this is gonna affect, how it’s gonna affect steffy, and hayes.

Carter: Yeah, so am I.

Eric: Carter, she could use this to work her way back into our family.

Ridge: And we have to make that impossible, alright? We gotta protect steffy and hayes.

Eric: You know our family. We’re trusting you to protect it.

Paris: She, she shot your mom?

Steffy: Mm-hm, in cold blood. Sheila is a psychopath.

Paris: Finn, I’m, I’m so sorry, that must have been devastating, to learn about all of this after finally meeting her.

Finn: I’m still trying to wrap my mind around it.

Steffy: But you didn’t know. She was a complete stranger to you.

Finn: I was so excited to introduce her to everyone, I couldn’t figure out why she didn’t want to come back to the reception.

Steffy: I’m just happy we were able to get rid of her.

Paris: Well, I hope it didn’t ruin your day. The ceremony was beautiful, and it was so full of joy.

Finn: We’re great.

Steffy: Yeah, we are, we’re so great. We’re not gonna let her mess with our marriage. And kelly and hayes, they’re happy, and they’re safe, and we’re gonna do whatever we can to shield them, okay? Dad and granddad are taking care of it, so right now, we’ve just gotta focus on this moment and plan our future, and raise our children, and don’t let this outside noise dampen our joy.

Sheila: No, it’s really important that I get in touch with him right now. I’m, I’m so embarrassed. I’m not supposed to have food on my desk, and I was running late for work today. I had to get my daughter to school. I should have left the, the coffee in my car, but I needed to clock in and I set it on the desk, and sure enough, it spilled all over my notes, and that’s why I can’t read the number. I am so angry with myself.

Steffy: This can’t be true.

Sheila: Well, it is. I gave birth to finn. You married my son. We’re family now.

Eric: Finn joined our family today, sheila, not you.

Sheila: But it’s my blood running through his veins, and your son’S.

Brooke: It’s a lie, it’s a convoluted lie.

Sheila: Didn’t he already confirm it?

Ridge: Confirm what? That you approached him when finn was a baby, what does that prove?

Sheila: What do I have to gain by lying here, ridge?

Brooke: Who knows? You’re always involved in some kind of scheme.

Sheila: A scheme? A scheme about a child that was born years ago? A child I had no way of knowing would ever come in contact with you or your family, brooke? You’re delusional. You think this is some sort of a long-term con, is that what you’re thinking? Look, I know that this is a shock, but I am telling the truth. I got to meet my son today. And, I gained a daughter.

Steffy: Which you’re not. You can’t be.

Katie: Oh, my gosh! Where did you get all these photos?

Donna: Pammy gave these to me. I guess she was, you know, cleaning out a closet or something, making more space for crocheted doilies or…

Katie: [Chuckles]

Donna: Or was it baking supplies? You know, honestly, I only listen to half of what she says. But I wanted to do something with these, you know? Make a special surprise for my honey–

You know, fashion shows and vacations and family gatherings, children and grandchildren, yeah, a wife, or two… or three. [Laughs] Am I gonna sprinkle a few extra pictures of my time? You betcha, but… yeah, I don’t want to ignore the other parts of his life that brought him joy. But I will definitely, 100%, ignore the painful ones. I mean, 100% no quinn and no sheila.

Donna: Oh, my god, can you imagine?

Katie: You know, maybe that’s why his martini tradition got started. He was trying to forget all the horrible things that sheila did.

Finn: Okay, I’m–I’m sorry. I’m–I’m very confused here. I have this incredible news. We had an unbelievable conversation. I want them to be happy for me.
