The entire episode takes place in Nice, France.

Damian gets dizzy and doesn’t feel well after drinking the bourbon that Cane gave him. Cane also feels bad and tells Damian that they need to leave and get help since they are both not feeling well. Cane helps Damian get up but Damian falls over and Cane catches him. Someone who is hiding in the garden maze throws a dagger and it hits Damian in the back and he dies instantly. Phyllis walks in and sees Cane standing over Damian’s body. Phyllis wants to do CPR but Cane tells him there is no point because he doesn’t have a doctor on staff and the roads and the railroad tracks are washed out and they couldn’t get him to the doctor in time to save him. Cane goes to find Chance and take him back to where he left Damian’s body.

Cane tells Chance what happened but then Cane notices that the dagger that was in Damian’s back is gone and so is the bottle of bourbon and the glasses that Cane and Damian used to drink the bourbon. Cane tells Chance that this dagger was from his collection of knives that he had displayed in the club car. Cane tells Chance the collection of knives wasn’t locked in a cabinet so anyone could have taken the antique dagger. Cane tells Chance that he was the intended victim not Damian and he tells Chance he will pay him fifty $ 50,000.00 to figure out who killed Damian and is trying to kill him.

Nick is trying to find Sharon, but nobody has seen her.

Cane and Chance tell Lily, Devon, Abby, and Nick that Damian is dead.

In Nice France.

Cane agrees to do the perfume campaign with Audra and Kyle. Cane tells Audra and Kyle that he will delay revealing his identity so they can do the publicity campaign for their perfumes. Kyle and Audra celebrate by having a drink in Audra’s sleeping car.

In Genoa City.

Adam tells Chelsea that Aristotle Dumas is Cane Ashby. Chelsea tells Adam that Cole died. Claire and Victoria are grieving for him. Adam tells Chelsea they need to figure out who Cane has working for him in Genoa City because someone has to help him buy all this real estate in Genoa City. Chelsea tells Adam that she thinks that Holden is secretly working for Cane. Chelsea introduces Adam to Holden. Adam tells Holden that he might have a job for him at Newman Media. Holden tells Claire that he lost his father to cancer, so he knows how she feels right now. Holden tells Claire that he will listen if she ever needs to talk to someone.

In Genoa City.

Danny rents Society out so he and Christine can have a romantic dinner. Danny and Christine remember important moments in their romance while the audience sees flashbacks of the memories. Danny gets down on one knee and proposes to Christine and she says yes to his proposal and they kiss.

Chelsea goes to Victoria’s house to check on her. Victoria tells her Cole died. Chelsea helps Victoria release her feelings of grief and offers to listen whenever she needs to talk. Chelsea tells Victoria that Adam went to Nice to tell Victor, Nick, and Nikki that Dumas has been buying real estate all over town. Chelsea also tells Victoria that she and Adam think that Aristotle Dumas is either Cane or his father Collin. Chelsea also tells Victoria that she saw Cane at Crimson Lights yesterday.

In Nice.

Lily has a dream where she tells Damian that she wants to move on with her life and she gives him a kiss. Lily pulls away from the kiss and sees Cane’s face. Lily goes for a walk and gets lost in the garden maze. Damian finds her and she tells him that she is tired of Cane and his games and she is going to leave as soon as the roads are open. Lily tells Damian she wants to move forward with her life and gives Damian a passionate kiss unaware that Cane is hiding in the maze watching her. Lily and Danian kiss again and Lily invites Damian to come with her to her sleeping car on the train. Cane goes back to his office and is so furious that he cries tears of anger.

The entire episode takes place in Nice, France.

Phyllis tells Cane that the Newmans know he has been leaving France to go to Genoa City and buy up property. Phyllis also tells Cane she knows that he has internet access at the Chateau. Cane denies everything Phyllis told him and asks her to find out how the Newmans found out all this information.

Nick asks Sharon to talk to Phyllis and find out if she is going to side with Cane or side with Newmans. Phyllis tells Sharon she hasn’t decided whose side she is on but she promises Sharon she won’t tell Cane that Adam came to Nice to tell his family what Cane has been doing in Genoa City.

Jack is hurt when Billy tells him that he is going to put Sally in charge of Abbott Communications and team up with Cane to try and take back Chancellor Industries. Jack tells Billy he can’t live his life trying to beat Victor. Jack tells Billy he invested in Abbott Communications so he could have a fresh start, not so he could have Sally run the company. Jack warns Billy to be careful because he could end up without Abbott Communications and Chancellor Industries.

Danny tells Daniel his plans for asking Christine to marry him tonight. Danny tells Daniel that, if Christine says yes, he will be the first person he will call to tell him the news.

Claire and Victoria continue to grieve Cole and pick out an urn for his ashes but decide not to have the memorial service until their family returns from Nice.

Tessa asks Mariah once more to tell her the horrible thing she did on her business trip. Mariah refuses to do it so Tessa thinks it’s time they make their separation permanent. Tessa tells Mariah that she might not be waiting for her after she returns from making the horrible thing right. Mariah remembers the man she met at the hotel bar sleeping on the couch in the hotel room. Mariah takes the pillow from the couch and holds it over the man’s face e. The man screamed twice and then stopped moving.

Adam arrives after bribing several locals who told him about a dirt road which they use to walk up the mountain to the Chateau since the train tracks and the roads are all washed out. Adam rests a while since he walked all the way up the mountain and then he tells Victor, Nikki, and Nick that he found out Cane has been buying commercial property near Jabot, Newman Enterprises, and Chancellor Industries. Adam also tells Victor, Nikki, and Nick that Cane bought the Athletic Club as well as all the divisions of Chancellor that Nikki sold when she became CEO of the company. Adam says that he has never seen anything like it because it seems like Cane put down a deposit on the entire town. Adam also tells the group that Chelsea saw Cane at Crimson Lights yesterday. Nikki wants to leave because she is worried about Cole, Victoria, and Claire. Victor tells Nikki that Cane has been playing his game and now Cane will be playing his (Victor’s) game.

Cane tells Phyllis that he is going after Abbott Communications, Jabot, and Newman Enterprises because he wants to run a big conglomerate. Cane asks Phyllis if she is willing to betray Billy, Jack, and Nick to prove her loyalty to him. Phyllis tells Cane that she is willing to betray all of them to prove her loyalty to him.

Holden tries to talk to Chelsea and find out information for Cane but Chelsea figures out what he is trying to do and tells him that she thinks everything he has told her is a lie because he is trying to get information for Cane.

Claire and Victoria sit at Cole’s bedside at the hospital. Cole tells Claire that he loves her, is proud of her, and cherishes every moment he had with her. Claire leaves the hospital room because she can’t say goodbye to Cole. Victoria gives Cole a last kiss before he dies. Claire and Victoria begin the grieving process as Claire goes to the park and calls Kyle and leaves him a message that Cole has died.

Tessa talks to Daniel and tells him Mariah moved out of the house and she still hasn’t opened up to her about the horrible thing she did on her business trip. Mariah remembers getting drunk and holding a man’s hand at a restaurant. Mariah also remembers being in a room and holding a decorative couch pillow and crying and asking herself what have I done.

In Genoa City, Adam tells Victoria that Aristotle Dumas has been buying up residential and commercial property around Jabot, Newman Enterprises, and Chancellor Industries. Adam also tells Victoria that he just found out that Aristotle Dumas has recently bought the divisions of Chancellor Industries that Nikki sold when she became CEO of the company. Adam also tells Victoria that Dumas has also bought the Athletic Club which wasn’t officially for sale. Victoria thinks all of this is very suspicious and asks him to keep her updated about any new information he finds out about Dumas and any new real estate purchases.

Victoria also thanks Adam for staying behind and running Newman Media and helping her run Newman Enterprises while everyone is in France so she can be with Cole at the hospital. Victoria tells Adam she thinks Victor would be very proud of him for the way he has stepped up when the family needs him. Victoria tells Adam they brought Cole back to the hospital in Genoa City because the doctors in Chicago can’t do anything more for him. Victoria tells Adam that Cole isn’t responding to any of the antibiotics the doctors have given him.

Adam decides to go to Nice and tell Victor what he has found out about Aristotle Dumas. Victoria gets a call from the hospital telling her that she and Claire need to go to the hospital. Cole awakens and tells Victoria and Claire that they made it in time.

In Nice, France, Devon has a talk with Amanda hoping to make her doubt Cane so maybe she will tell him about Cane’s plan. Amanda doesn’t tell him anything about Cane’s plan. Carter later tells Amanda that Cane will be back in Nice soon because he did everything he wanted to do in Genoa City.

In Genoa City, Cane meets with Holden who is secretly working for him again as his eyes and ears in the city. Cane gives Holden a list of people to contact. The list is Adam, Chelsea, Claire, and Sharon. Cane tells Holden to make friends with these people and see what information he can get from them. Cane asks Holden to tell him Damian ‘s relationship to Lily. Holden tells Cane that Damian has fallen hard for Lily.

Chelsea sees Cane after his meeting with Holden and wonders what he is doing back in town.

In Nice, France Billy signs a contract with Sally that states that she will run Abbott Communications if Cane let’s him be the CEO of Chancellor Industries after the takeover of the company.

Nick and Sharon both warn Phyllis not to go into business with Cane. Phyllis tells Sharon that she can handle Cane and outsmart him. Victor thinks Cane is keeping them all there to buy time for his next move.

Cane tells Lily he did all this because he loves her and wants her back in his life. Lily tells Cane that they are never getting back together because she doesn’t love him anymore. Lily kisses Damian in front of Cane partly because she wants Cane to see she doesn’t love him and partly because she has wanted to kiss Damian for a long time. Cane later warns Damian to stay away from Lily but Damian tells Cane that he doesn’t have to answer him anymore.

In Genoa City, Victoria and Claire are at Crimson Lights getting some tea before they go home to get some fresh clothes and return to Chicago to be with Cole.

Victoria tells Esther and Nate that Cole was diagnosed with Legionnaire’s’ disease which is a very serious form of pneumonia, and he isn’t getting better. Nate calms Victoria down and tells her that once the doctors find the right combination of antibiotics Cole should recover because he doesn’t have any underlying conditions.

Claire has a panic attack in the park and Holden finds her after his run and helps her calm down and start to breathe normally again. Clare and Holden go to the Athletic club and have some vespers and Claire feels better.

In Nice, Kyle tells Audra that they should not do the perfume launch with Cane because, now that they know his true identity, the launch won’t be effective.

Billy tells Sally that he wants to stay because he wants to find out Cane’s agenda.

Lily can’t sleep, so she and Damian stay up most of the night playing poker and go fish until Lily finally decides she needs to get some sleep.

Phyllis finally gets a meeting with Cane. Phyllis tells him she has information that will help him take over Chancellor Industries. Phyllis tells Cane that she wants to run the company once he owns it. Cane tells Phyllis that he has a different idea for Chancellor Industries if he does own it someday, but he might find her a job in his organization.

Adam is in Genoa City telling Chelsea that he found out that Aristote Dumas is buying up real estate close to Newman Enterprises, Jabot, and Chancellor Industries. Adam tells Chelsea that he has been trying to call Victor, but he hasn’t answered his phone. Adam and Chelsea try to figure out why Aristotle Dumas would want all that real estate. Adam hopes he can call Victor tomorrow and warn him about what Aristotle Dumas is planning to do.

Michael, Lauren, Chance, and Abby arrive in Nice, France. Jack and Nikki tell the newcomers that Cane Ashby is Aristotle Dumas. Michael and Lauren tell everyone that they decided to come because Aristotle Dumas called them personally to ask them to go to France.

Devon and Damian want to leave and try to persuade Lily to leave but she tells them that she will make a decision and tell them what she wants to do tomorrow.

Cane tells Victor that he will give him all his companies in exchange for Chancellor Industries. Victor tells him that there is no way he will give up Chancellor Industries.

Jack wants to know why Cane invited him there and he says they will have a private talk later. Michael and Lauren also want to know why he wanted them to be there but Cane says he will tell them more tomorrow.

Cane talks to Chance. Chance assumes he is there to represent the Chancellor family. Cane tells Chance he is there because he needs his detective skills, because he thinks before the trip is over, someone will try to murder him.
