EJ warns Gabi that he could have an officer there to arrest her for assaulting Salem’s district attorney. Gabi says she should leave a mark then and tries to slap EJ again but EJ grabs her arm. JJ then appears and demands EJ get his hands off of her now, surprising Gabi.

Jada is at home, finishing a call with her sister Talia and telling her about Rafe’s proposal. Rafe joins Jada in the living room and they talk about her ring being a family heirloom as they kiss. Jada then surprises Rafe with a gift.

Paulina goes to the Brady Pub and tells Roman that Rafe and Jada will be joining her for lunch. Paulina mentions just getting a clean bill of health from her doctor so she is treating herself. Paulina talks about being relieved as it looks like she’ll be sticking around for awhile which Roman says he’s very happy to hear. Stephanie then enters the Pub but Paulina calls her Chanel, leaving Roman confused.

At the hospital, Alex tells Chanel about meeting Joy and she seems pretty cool. Chanel calls Joy nice and says she likes her. Alex tells Chanel about how he freaked Joy out when he said she was going to be a thorn in Chanel’s side, but she acted like he meant it in real life when he meant it in character. Chanel wonders why Joy thought he meant in real life. Alex suggest maybe she thought she would mix up real life like Johnny did as they talk about Joy going after her man on the show.

Joy goes to see Johnny in the hospital room and says she just met Alex. Joy mentions hearing that he filmed the love scene and asks if he’s okay. Johnny says he is okay but Joy notes that he seems upset. Johnny admits that he’s upset about what he and Joy did and declares that he has to tell his wife the truth. Joy argues that he can’t be serious and calls that the dumbest thing he could do. Joy questions what he’s thinking, pointing out that Chanel has forgiven him and is giving him a second chance. Johnny complains that the guilt is eating him up and he has to make things right to clear his conscience. Joy asks if he thought about how she would be affected as it would put a giant target on her back. Joy argues that it would make Chanel hate her too and they don’t know how far she would go to make them both pay.

Alex comments to Chanel that she and Johnny seem to be back on track. Chanel says they are working on it. Alex says he’s sorry if he had anything to do with it but Chanel says it’s all on Johnny as he was being ridiculous for thinking she would cheat on him. Alex is glad Chanel gave Johnny another chance and talks about relating to being overcome with jealousy. Alex explains that his jealousy over Chad is basically what blew up his relationship with Stephanie in the first place.

Roman questions Paulina referring to Stephanie as Chanel, so Paulina explains that she was joking because of Johnny mistaking Stephanie for Chanel and calls Johnny her idiot son in law. Roman reminds her that he is Johnny’s grandfather so she apologizes but Roman says he understands as he heard what happened and admits that accusing Chanel of having an affair was not Johnny’s greatest moment. Paulina remarks that she doesn’t know what got in to Johnny as he was suddenly acting like a fool, like his jackass father.

Gabi questions what JJ is doing in Salem. JJ responds that he’s apparently saving her from this creep and warns EJ to let it go. EJ tells JJ to back off as this is none of his business. JJ states that EJ putting his hands on Gabi made it his business, so he warns him to let her go or he will have to deal with him. EJ then lets go of Gabi. Gabi calls EJ a son of a bitch. JJ guesses EJ hasn’t changed much and calls him the same pompous ass who mistreats women. EJ argues that Abigail was a willing participant in their affair, just like Gabi was. JJ yells at EJ not to talk about his sister at all. EJ apologizes and says that what happened to Abigail was a terrible tragedy and he knows her impostor caused JJ and her loved ones more pain, so he’s sorry for bringing her up. JJ tells Gabi that the main reason he’s back in Salem is to make sure Cat Green pays for denigrating his sister’s memory. EJ is afraid he made the trip for nothing then because the charges against Cat Green have been dropped and she’s a free woman.

Johnny asks Joy why Chanel would blame her when she didn’t even know each other when they met. Joy points out that she pretended not to know Johnny and that Chanel will hate her for lying which sucks because she really likes her. Joy adds that Chanel’s stepfather is the producer of Body and Soul, so she worries if this gets out, she will be off the show. Johnny insists that Chanel won’t get her fired. Joy is not so sure, but says if not, Kate will definitely want her gone since Stephanie was almost fired for sleeping with a co worker and she barely dodged that bullet.

Chanel asks Alex about he and Stephanie having something again recently. Alex says that was until Kate and Abe laid down the law. Chanel notes that he doesn’t sound happy about it. Alex blows it off as being whatever. Chanel remembers the last time they spoke about this, she asked if he wanted to be more than friends with benefits with Stephanie and he said he didn’t know what she wanted. Chanel asks if Alex asked her. Alex responds that he didn’t have to because Stephanie made it very clear that she didn’t want to be more than friends, although she recently admitted that she was jealous when she thought he might be sleeping with a co-worker. Chanel argues that means Stephanie has real feelings for him. Chanel thinks it’s safe to say that Alex feels something for Stephanie too and asks if she’s right.

Stephanie tells Paulina that Johnny’s mistake was partly her fault and Alex’s, since Johnny never would’ve mistaken her for Chanel if she and Alex hadn’t acted inappropriately. Paulina assures that she doesn’t blame her and Alex. Paulina then asks when Stephanie and Alex started shaking the sheets again. Roman goes to get Paulina’s food started. Stephanie then tells Paulina that the incident at the hospital was the start of her and Alex starting things up again, but it ended as quickly as it started. Paulina mentions hearing that Abe and Kate put a stop to work place relationships. Paulina acknowledges that she’d had to lay down that law at times on mayor. Paulina imagines that’s hard on Stephanie but she claims it isn’t because she and Alex are better off as friends.

Jada’s gift to Rafe is returning his commissioner badge. Rafe asks if she’s sure she’s okay with this after getting used to being in charge and he knows she enjoyed it. Jada says she did, but she’s very happy to let Rafe be the boss in the work place again. Jada jokes that at home, he answers to her as they kiss.

Rafe and Jada join Paulina at the Brady Pub. Paulina notices Jada’s ring which excites her as she congratulates them. Roman congratulates Rafe and asks when he popped the question. Rafe says it was yesterday and they’ve been celebrating ever since. Roman says it won’t stop here and tells them that their food is on the house as he takes their order. Paulina tells Jada and Rafe that she’s so happy for them and wants to hear all the details after they finish their duty. Rafe assures that he’s been cleared by the doctors, so as soon as Paulina allows him, he is ready to resume his commissioner duties immediately. Paulina reveals that she’s given that a lot of thought and has decided that’s not a good idea.

Alex tells Chanel that he thinks Stephanie is great, smart, funny, and beautiful and the first woman he ever gave his heart too but that was a long time ago and a lot has happened since then, so he doesn’t want either of them getting hurt again. Alex calls Stephanie amazing and the best person he knows. Chanel jokes that she asked a yes or no question but he gave her an improvised sonnet. Chanel teases Alex that they should call Leo and write that in for his character to say. Stephanie arrives and asks what they are talking about. Chanel claims that Alex was just praising her acting ability. Chanel says she needs to go run lines with her other scene partner, so she’ll see them around as she walks away. Alex asks Stephanie what brings her to set. Stephanie responds that she needs a huge favor from him.

Joy tells Johnny that he doesn’t understand since her mother already thinks she makes a mess out of everything and getting fired from the show before it even airs would only prove her right. Johnny states that he doesn’t want that to happen to her. Joy asks about it going wrong for Johnny too if he tells Chanel about them and then she doesn’t forgive him and ends their marriage over this. Joy tells Johnny that he has to keep his mouth shut for both of their sakes. Chanel then comes in and asks what’s going on in here.

Gabi asks what the hell is wrong with EJ for letting Cat go free. EJ reveals he already let her go. JJ questions how he could let that happen. EJ says it’s none of his business. JJ complains about Cat pretending to be his dead sister and trying to kill Chad for his money, but EJ’s going to just let her walk and says it doesn’t make any sense. EJ tells JJ that if he doesn’t like it, he can file a complaint with city hall. JJ grabs EJ and says he’ll file a complaint right now. EJ warns him to back off but JJ then punches EJ. Gabi gets in between them to separate them. EJ threatens to have JJ arrested for assault. Gabi remarks that he said the same thing to her, but he can’t abuse his power when there’s an eye witness. Gabi threatens to say EJ shoved JJ first and initiated the fight. EJ declares that neither of them are worth the trouble and storms off. JJ tells Gabi that he doesn’t get why he would let Cat go. Gabi remarks that EJ gets a kick out of putting innocent people away. JJ says he’s sorry as he can’t believe she went to prison for a crime she didn’t commit. Gabi blames EJ for it and says if he hadn’t railroaded her, she wouldn’t have lost a year of her life or her marriage.

Joy tells Chanel that she and Johnny were just having a little disagreement about an upcoming scene but she pleaded her case and asks if Johnny came around to her line of thinking. Johnny responds that he sees her point and will defer to her for now. Joy says that’s great and thanks him as she thinks it’s best for her character. Chanel says she came to see if Joy wanted to run lines for their scenes next week since it will be her first time on camera and she wants to make sure she’s comfortable. Joy calls Chanel the best. Chanel tells Johnny that she will see him at home as they hug.

Alex asks Stephanie what the favor is. Stephanie talks about pitching an idea for a photoshoot with a well known magazine and she didn’t know if it would go through but they just called, only it has to be right now because they had a cancellation. Stephanie asks Alex if he’d be willing to come back to the Body and Soul studio with her to take some photos, noting that it could be great publicity for the show and for him. Alex asks if she wants him to get Chanel or Joy, but Stephanie reveals this photoshoot is boys only because it’s for Playgal.

Rafe assures Paulina that any fears she may have about his recovery, he is more than ready to get back to work and all doctors have approved. Jada vouches that Rafe has fully recovered and is perfectly healthy. Paulina says she has no doubts about that, so Rafe doesn’t understand. Paulina calls Rafe an excellent cop and she’s thrilled that he’s ready to rejoin the force, but since the department is short staffed, she needs Rafe back at the station as a detective and she wants Jada to stay on as commissioner. Jada tells Paulina that she agreed to stand in for Rafe during his recovery but she never intended to replace him permanently. Paulina knows it might be awkward for them but she believes it’s the right move. Paulina adds that she strongly appreciates a black woman in charge but this goes beyond that. Paulina notes that since Jada has taken over, she’s been taking names and crime is down while also overseeing many high profile cases including the murder of Li Shin and the recent apprehension of Vivian Alamain which she calls impressive. Jada assures that she’s flattered but she’s going to decline because she can’t take Rafe’s job. Paulina argues that the job doesn’t belong to Rafe, but to whoever she sees fit to give it to and that’s Jada. Paulina tells Rafe that this is not personal as he’s a great cop but things have been running smoothly in his absence, so she sees no reason to upend that and hopes he understands. Paulina then gets a text and says she has to go on a Mayoral emergency. Roman offers to box up her food but Paulina says there’s no time and takes the whole plate as she hurries out. Roman calls Paulina definitely unpredictable which Rafe agrees with.

Chanel asks Joy if she was able to move in at the Pub. Joy confirms that she was and calls it so kind of Chanel to let her and Nancy crash her and Johnny’s dinner. Chanel assures that they enjoyed the company. Chanel adds that she and Johnny promised Nancy that they would look after Joy, so she invites her over for dinner so they can all get to know each other even better.

EJ goes home to the DiMera Mansion and holds an ice pack to his face. Johnny walks in and asks what happened to him. EJ says it’s not worth talking about. EJ mentions hearing about Johnny’s disastrous birthday party and he’s sorry. Johnny says he’s the one who is sorry as he really screwed up. Johnny says he’s not usually so insecure and jealous, so he doesn’t know what came over him. EJ says it happens to the best of them. EJ assures that Johnny and Chanel will get through it as he just jumped to conclusions and said some unkind words. Johnny then reveals there’s more to it, as Chanel doesn’t know it, but he did something egregious and really stupid.

Gabi sits with JJ in the town square and holds ice on his hand. JJ asks Gabi if her fight with EJ was about him sending her to prison when she was innocent. Gabi says she confronted EJ about his role in the end of her marriage which JJ questions. Gabi informs him that her divorce papers are being filed as they speak. JJ says he’s sorry about that. Gabi thanks him and says it was so good of him to stand up for her with EJ. Gabi asks JJ if that means all is forgiven between them. JJ brings up Gabi tampering with Julie’s pacemaker and putting her life in jeopardy. JJ says a lot of time has gone by. Gabi knows it’s not possible to forgive and says she shouldn’t have asked. JJ admits he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t still angry about that because the memory is still painful to him. Gabi tells JJ that she’s still really angry with herself for sinking so low, but insists that’s not who she is anymore. Gabi knows words are cheap but says she really has been working on herself as she’s determined to be a better person which JJ says he’s glad to hear. Gabi asks if that means JJ will give her a chance to prove to him that she’s changed which JJ agrees to do. JJ believes Gabi is sincere in wanting to be a better person. Gabi assures that she is and thanks him again for coming to her rescue. JJ reminds Gabi that she rescued him once before too, so he owed her one. Gabi guesses he’s talking about Christmas Eve years ago. JJ calls that the darkest moment of his life and Gabi was there for him. Gabi says she was just being a friend. JJ calls it more than that as she saved his life, so in spite of it all, he will always be very grateful to her.

Stephanie goes to the Body and Soul studio and makes a call to confirm the model has agreed to the shoot and that they are very excited. Alex comes in and tells her that he doesn’t think he can do this. Stephanie questions what’s wrong. Alex complains that he looks ridiculous, dressed as Robin Hood, since his character’s name is Arrow. Stephanie insists he looks fine. Alex worries about it being too much. Stephanie jokes with him about being self conscious. Alex doesn’t want to look stupid. Stephanie tells him that he looks hot and sexy as hell. Stephanie helps him with his costume and they get close before being interrupted by Stephanie getting a text that the photographer is there so she has to go let him in. Alex guesses there’s no turning back down. Stephanie assures that Alex looks great and thanks him for doing this. Alex says anything for her.

Gabi hopes JJ’s hand doesn’t hurt too much. JJ says he’ll be fine and thanks her. JJ says he better get going as he needs to get to the bottom of this Cat Green fiasco and he’s sure Chad has a lot to say about it. Gabi asks him to keep her posted and says it was really good to see him again. JJ says the same as he walks away.

Jada assures Rafe that this isn’t what she wanted. Rafe says he knows but it’s clearly what Paulina wants and what she says, goes. Rafe guesses he should be lucky that she still wants him as a detective. Jada doesn’t know what to say. Rafe responds by congratulating her and hands back over the commissioner badge, saying it belongs to her now.

Joy tells Chanel that it’s such a kind offer but she’s worried that Johnny might be annoyed by her because of earlier. Chanel insists that he’ll get over it and that Johnny is in the doghouse and wants back in her good graces, so he has to do whatever she wants and she wants Joy to come over for dinner. Chanel says she won’t take no for an answer so Joy accepts the invite.

EJ asks Johnny what he did that was so stupid and egregious. Johnny tells EJ that he cannot say a word to anyone. Johnny then informs EJ that he made a huge mistake, explaining that he thought Chanel was cheating on him, so in return, he cheated on her.

Gabi and Javi have lunch in the town square. Gabi gives him duties as her assistant including picking up her dry cleaning and changing the oil in her car. As they continue to talk, Javi gets a text from Leo. Gabi notes he’s distracted and asks if he’s listening to a word she’s saying.

Leo sits outside the Brady Pub as he waits for Javi’s response while working on typing up scripts. Joy comes out from the Pub, so Leo introduces himself as the head writer of Body and Soul. Joy wonders why she knows his name and then realizes he’s the guy who destroyed her parents marriage.

Johnny sits at the hospital and looks at his wedding ring as he thinks back to when Joy returned it to him. Alex comes in and asks if he’s ready for him to sleep with his wife.

EJ brings Cat to Chad in the interrogation room at the police station. Cat asks what Chad is doing there. Chad responds that he needs to talk to her. Cat repeats that she doesn’t know where Abigail’s body is but Chad says this isn’t about that, so she asks what it’s about. EJ then announces he’s dropping the charges against her.

Julie comes downstairs, calling out to Doug that she will be bringing up more chicken soup and comments that there’s nothing wrong with his appetite. JJ Deveraux then shows up at the door, surprising Julie as they embrace.

Gabi asks Javi who he’s texting with. Javi claims he was just noting what she was saying on his phone. Javi tells Gabi that he’s grateful for the job but didn’t realize he’d just be an errand boy. Gabi insists that he’s more than that and then tells him that she will need him to reorganize the online filing system and purge the office of any traces of Connie by next Wednesday. Meanwhile, Javi sends Leo a text back in Spanish.

Leo asks Joy who her parents are. Joy then reveals that her father is Craig Wesley. Leo says that would explain why her mother was in town and admits he wasn’t paying attention to her name. Joy talks about Nancy being devastated when she found out Craig was cheating on her. Leo assures that he knows that and hopes this doesn’t affect their ability to work together. Leo tells Joy that he’s very sorry for what he’s done and he’s in therapy where he’s learned that he didn’t set out to be a homewrecker. Joy asks who she is to judge, remarking that lately she’s become a bit of a homewrecker herself.

Alex clarifies to Johnny that he meant his character sleeping with Chanel’s character. Johnny argues about how that can be triggering for him after he made a fool of himself at his own birthday party and suggests not talking about this. Alex brings up that he was also stupid with Stephanie, making a mistake that they will never do again. Johnny tells Alex that he and Stephanie are none of his business. Alex says that Johnny and Chanel are his business since they work together, so he hopes there won’t be a war which Johnny promises. Johnny apologizes to Alex if his outburst messed things up for he and Stephanie. Johnny adds that he’s especially sorry for what he did to Chanel, right as Chanel walks in.

Cat questions why EJ is dropping the charges. EJ responds that he will let Chad elaborate, but assures that he is disgusted and appalled by what Cat did to Chad and the rest of Abigail’s family. EJ removes the handcuffs from Cat and tells her to enjoy the freedom that she doesn’t deserve as he exits the room. Cat imagines Chad isn’t just having the charges dropped out of the goodness of his heart. Chad confirms he’d much rather see her rot in prison for the rest of her life, but he can’t. Cat asks why not.

Gabi gives Javi her divorce papers to take to the courthouse. Javi asks if she’s sure she’s ready to do this. Gabi states that she and Stefan both signed them, so it’s over and as soon as they are filed, she will officially be divorced. Javi says he’s sorry as he knows it’s not what she wanted. Gabi tells him to get to it, so Javi exits as EJ approaches and greets Gabi. Gabi asks what the hell he wants.

Leo questions Joy saying she’s a homewrecker too and jokes that maybe she’s just being in character. Joy assures that she’s talking about real life. Leo admits he’s intrigued and asks whose home she wrecked.

Chanel apologizes for being late and tells Alex and Johnny that she’s having a bit of a hard time gearing up for doing a love scene with Alex in front of Johnny, but says she’s a professional so they will power through it. Chanel assures everything will be okay because it’s all just make believe. Alex asks if they can get the show on the road then.

Julie thinks it’s wonderful that JJ was at Chad’s wedding and able to stop the fraud that Cat was pulling on the whole family. JJ only wishes they figured it out before he pronounced them man and wife. Julie assures the marriage isn’t valid, but calls it one more heartache that Chad doesn’t need right now. Julie declares that Cat is now behind bars with Mark and she’s confident that EJ and Chad will make sure she stays there for a very long time.

Cat asks Chad the reason why he can’t just let her rot in jail forever. Chad informs her that Clyde escaped while being transferred to his appeal. Cat questions Chad talking to Clyde. Chad confirms that Clyde called, so he asked where he could find Abigail’s remains, and he told him that he would tell him under the one condition that he hand Cat over to him.

Julie tells JJ that she’s so glad he’s here. JJ says he had to come as he needs to know what happened to his sister’s body and he wanted to see how his family was doing. Julie thanks him for caring. JJ asks about Doug, calling him his favorite person in the world as being around him always lifts his spirits. Julie says she will tell him that to put a smile on his face. JJ asks if Doug is doing okay. Julie admits he’s not too well today as he really believed Abigail was alive and now he has a bad cold. Julie insists that Doug will be up and about in no time. JJ comments on Doug being 98 years old now. Julie believes every day with Doug is a blessing.

Cat questions why Clyde wants her. Chad imagines Clyde is angry because Cat failed to deliver the DiMera fortune. Cat asks if Clyde wants revenge on her aside from what he’s probably already done to her mother. Cat questions Chad having EJ drop the charges against her, just to throw her to the lions and give Clyde what he wants. Chad responds that he needs to know what happened to Abigail and this is the only way. Cat questions this being the only way and if he hates her that much.

Gabi tells EJ that he doesn’t have to say anything and can just be on his way. EJ understands she was upset after finding Stefan’s letter to him and that her feelings were hurt that Stefan wrote a letter to him and not her. Gabi asks if he’s rubbing it in like a child. EJ argues that she acted like a child that day as what she said was irrational when she said she wanted a divorce too. EJ thought he’d give her a chance to apologize for saying the dissolution of her marriage was all his fault. Gabi insists that it was all his fault.

Joy decides she probably shouldn’t even be talking to Leo about this and suggests he forget she even said any thing. Leo says he forgets most things, but not scandalous gossip. Leo talks about being a world renowned gossip columnist but he gave that all up to be a TV writer. Leo suggests that Joy can tell him and then maybe he could incorporate it in to a juicy story for her character. Javi then walks up and greets Leo. They joke about running in to each other. Leo introduces Javi to Joy. Leo tells Javi that he’s sorry for not responding to his text. Javi admits he was worried he was blowing him off. Joy says she has to get to set and says it was so nice meeting them both. Leo tries to remind her that she didn’t tell him what he asked about but Joy hurries off.

Johnny calls for everyone to get in place as he begins directing Alex and Chanel’s scene in the hospital room. As Alex and Chanel kiss in the scene, Johnny thinks back to kissing Joy in her hotel room. They finish the love scene. Johnny tells them it was great and very steamy. Alex leaves to go get changed. Chanel asks Johnny if it wasn’t so bad which he confirms. Chanel admits she was holding her breath waiting for him to call cut, but now that they got through it, it won’t be a problem anymore which Johnny agrees with. Chanel asks if Johnny feels better now. Johnny responds that he actually doesn’t, stating that he’s fine with what they just did but he’s not fine with what he did.

Javi asks Leo about Joy, saying he was getting a vibe. Leo reveals that he slept with Joy’s father and destroyed her parents marriage. Javi jokes that Gabi was right about Leo being a bad boy. Leo feels he’s more of a homewrecker than a bad boy, but then Joy just admitted she’s a homewrecker too. Leo wants to get the low down on whose home she wrecked.

Joy goes to the hospital and meets Alex, who says he heard that she’s going to be a huge thorn in Chanel’s side.

Julie suggests JJ could play his guitar and sing some songs with Doug. JJ remembers when Doug gave him Alice’s wedding ring when he proposed to Lani even though he was jumping in to something he wasn’t ready for and that Doug tried to warn him. JJ asks how Eli and Lani are. Julie says they are great and she keeps hoping they will come visit with the twins. Julie asks JJ if there’s any special person in his life now. JJ says not at the moment. Julie calls him such a handsome and charismatic guy, so she’s sure there will be a lovely lady coming along very soon.

EJ reminds Gabi that she thought her marriage was over when she found out Stefan cheated on her with Ava and that he only slept with Gabi because she seduced him. Gabi argues that he should’ve said no. EJ points out that he did but Gabi complains that he didn’t mean it and was trying to stick it to Stefan. EJ brings up that Gabi was the married one and the one who initiated things with him. EJ adds that Gabi was screaming from the rooftops that she was through with Stefan. Gabi argues that EJ knew she wasn’t in her right mind. EJ asks when she is in her right mind. Gabi calls EJ a son of a bitch and shouts that he should’ve stopped it.

Chad assures Cat that he hates her because at the end of the day, she had the power to stop all of this and she didn’t. Chad understands Clyde was threatening to kill her mother, but that doesn’t mean she couldn’t have maneuvered her way out of it without leading a total stranger to believe his wife was alive. Chad admits part of him wants to let Clyde do his dirty work and that EJ probably would, but he’s not EJ, so he won’t hand Cat over to her death. Cat asks what Chad is going to do.

JJ tells Julie that he has a couple errands to run. Julie points out that he just got here, but noticed he didn’t have a suitcase, so she questions if he’s going to check in to the Salem Inn which he confirms. Julie asks him not to since her, Doug, and the children would love having him around. JJ agrees to stay and decides he will pick up dinner for the night. Julie says it will be wonderful having him and she hopes he stays awhile this time. JJ says they will see. Julie adds that Chad will be happy too and that he’s usually home by now, so she wonders what’s keeping him.

Chad tells Cat that he’s going to use her as bait and he’s going to do his best to protect her, but he can’t guarantee it will work out. Chad admits he doesn’t really know what’s going to happen. Cat agrees to do it, feeling she owes him that much at least. Cat adds that if there’s a chance her mother is still alive, this could lead her to her. Chad asks if Cat wants him to get her brother out of jail after he showed up and tried to shoot him, but says that would be asking too much. Cat points out that if they are going to do this and have any hope of being successful, they are going to have to work together and travel together. Cat asks if he will be able to handle being around her. Chad says these are not normal circumstances and he will do whatever it takes to get his wife back.

Joy asks Alex who said she was going to cause trouble for Chanel. Alex clarifies that she meant her character coming in between them. Joy mentions that Stephanie warned about her getting hate mail for that. Alex calls Stephanie the best and explains that they were sort of seeing each other but they are going to keep their distance so they don’t lose their jobs. Joy realizes that Alex is Bonnie’s stepson and explains that Bonnie is her mom’s best friend, so she heard all about what happened.

Chanel tells Johnny that she knows it’s been hard to move past this since he thought she betrayed him and felt hurt, then she was hurt that he thought she would cheat on him when she would never do that. Chanel says Johnny can’t just sit around wallowing as he has to get past it. Johnny thinks back again to kissing Joy in her hotel room. Johnny then tells Chanel that he wants to be the husband she deserves and promises to make it up to her as they hug.

Leo and Javi continue talking. Javi tells Leo that he’s funny and has a way about him. Javi teaches Leo a pickup line in Spanish. Javi says he’d love to hang out but he has a million errands to run for Gabi, revealing that he is now her personal assistant since she’s giving him a place to stay. Javi brings up Gabi’s divorce and says it’s a bad one as there was cheating on both sides and now the papers are signed. Javi calls Gabi the strongest person he knows but says this broke her.

EJ tells Gabi to blame him if it makes her feel better and says he destroyed her marriage, but points out that she destroyed his marriage by shooting her mouth off at the press conference so they can consider themselves even. Gabi asks if he admits to ruining her marriage then. EJ responds that he will admit part of him relished seeing Stefan anguish over their tryst and he did drive Stefan to demand a divorce when he told him that he would never get over the images of them in bed together out of his head. EJ declares he will take credit for her stupid little divorce, but they both deserve it after the miserable things they’ve done to him. EJ then remarks that he loved doing it, so Gabi then slaps him.

Leo tells Javi that his heart doesn’t bleed for Gabi or Stefan. Javi says he’s allowed to feel how he feels and he hates to go, but he has to run Gabi’s errands. Leo says he should get to work himself but suggests they could get together later. Javi says he’d like that and he will text him as he walks away.

Chanel joins Alex getting coffee at the hospital. Alex comments that Johnny seemed chill about everything and asks if he really was. Chanel thinks he was fine with the love scene, but he’s still feeling guilty about how he acted at his surprise birthday party. Alex mentions meeting Joy and she seems pretty cool. Chanel calls Joy nice and says she likes her. Alex tells Chanel about how he freaked Joy out when he said she was going to be a thorn in Chanel’s side, but she acted like he meant it in real life when he meant it in character.

Joy goes to see Johnny in the hospital room and says she just met Alex. Joy mentions hearing that he filmed the love scene and asks if he’s okay. Johnny says he is okay but Joy notes that he seems upset. Johnny admits that he’s upset about what he and Joy did and declares that he has to tell his wife the truth.

Chad goes home and greets Julie, who says she has good news for a change. Julie announces they have a surprise guest in JJ who will be staying with them for awhile. Chad says that’s great. Julie adds that JJ was concerned about how they were all doing after what Cat did to them. Julie is thankful that she won’t have to set eyes on her again. Cat then walks in to the room, shocking Julie.

EJ warns Gabi that he could have an officer there to arrest her for assaulting Salem’s district attorney. Gabi says she should leave a mark then and tries to slap EJ again but EJ grabs her arm. JJ then appears and demands EJ get his hands off of her now.

Brady goes to the DiMera Mansion where Kristen excitedly asks if Marlena told him that she stopped by. Brady says no and that he just wanted to see her himself as he told Tate what a wonderful and selfless thing she was doing for Sarah, but it’s too bad it was all a lie. Kristen asks what he’s talking about. Brady tells her not to pull the innocent act as Sarah told him everything.

Kate calls Philip and tell him that her gamble paid off as she made a well timed call to 911 and had Vivian arrested. Kate adds that Vivian lunged for Jada’s gun but fell flat on her face and now she’s in jail. Kate states that Vivian hasn’t said a word about the letter so their secret may stay safe and no one will be the wiser.

Steve goes to the Brady Pub and orders a cup of coffee from Roman, joking that he’s celebrating Vivian’s arrest. Roman says it couldn’t have happened to a nicer human being but admits part of him was disappointed as he expected Vivian to try to escape in a blaze of glory, but guesses time has a way of catching up with all of them. Roman asks what’s on Steve’s plate today. Steve responds that he’s going to see Chad in a little while as he’s pretty worried about him. Roman comments on all that Chad has been through and then finding out that Clyde escaped. Steve says the craziest thing is that Clyde called Chad right when he was breaking the news to him. Roman questions what the hell he wanted. Steve calls that a damn good question.

EJ meets Chad in the interrogation room at the police station. Chad reminds EJ that he asked him to drop the charges against Cat Green and asks why he’s still waiting. EJ questions why in the world he would make such an insane request.

Kristen claims not to know what Sarah told Brady and asks if he’s sure it’s the truth. Kristen brings up Sarah lying about her daughter’s paternity and about Brady being behind the wheel of the car that ran her over. Brady states that Sarah is not lying. Kristen asks how he can be so sure. Brady responds that if Sarah was lying, so is Maggie. Brady reveals that Maggie was there and confirmed everything Sarah was saying. Brady tells Kristen to just admit that she wasn’t going to give Sarah the serum out of the goodness of her heart, but use it as leverage to force Xander to give her Titan.

Kate tells Philip that she has to go and hangs up as Xander arrives at the Body and Soul studio. Kate claims that she was talking to Leo about storylines for the show and asks why Xander dropped by. Xander reminds her that he told her to get Philip to back off but he’s still blocking the deal he was making with Kristen. Xander suggests getting Philip on the phone now so Kate can order him to stop, but Kate reveals that’s not going to happen because she supports Philip in everything he does to save his father’s company.

EJ argues that Cat Green has caused Chad nothing but grief and spent months manipulating him by convincing him that she was his dead wife. EJ adds that she lured him to Paris to get married, so she could take his money. Chad says he knows and doesn’t need to be reminded. EJ questions why he wants him to drop the charges against her then. Chad then reveals that Clyde asked him to.

Kristen admits to Brady that she made a deal with Xander for the serum, but claims it’s only because Sarah lied and put Brady behind bars. Brady argues that Kristen told him that she was going to hand the serum over to Xander while wanting nothing in return and questions why she left out the detail of her wanting Titan, pointing out that he would find out eventually. Kristen figured they would cross that bridge when they came to it. Kristen complains that she had no choice because she has to prove herself to the board and she needed something to shore up their faith in her, so she needed Titan. Brady asks if it was all about business this whole time. Kristen calls that preposterous. Brady calls it about greed, power, money and most importantly about herself. Kristen tells Brady that she was doing it for him.

Philip joins Sarah in the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion and asks if Maggie is around. Sarah doesn’t believe she is and asks if there’s something he wanted to talk to her about. Philip brings up Maggie and Victor’s wedding anniversary and says he came by to see how she’s doing. Sarah calls that sweet and says he’s welcome to wait here. Philip asks if she’s sure since he knows he’s not her favorite person right now, since it’s because of him that she doesn’t have the serum. Sarah tells him that she understands and admits she’s not thrilled about Xander handing over Titan for the serum. Sarah adds that as much as she’d like to walk again, Xander is pushing Kristen to get the serum like he’d do anything to get his hands on it. Philip guesses that explains why Xander tried to murder him yesterday.

Xander complains about Kate supporting Philip. Kate argues that Philip faking his own death was the only reason Victor didn’t include him in his will. Xander points out that was because Philip was framing Brady for murder which Kate feels Victor didn’t hold against him, claiming he made that clear in the letter he sent to Philip. Xander asks if Kate has no problem with Sarah not getting the serum that could help her walk again. Kate states that her concern is for her son and he deserves a portion of his father’s legacy. Xander hopes it’s worth squandering her own. Kate asks what that means. Xander warns Kate that it’s time to change her tune or else her soap opera will be DOA before it even airs.

Roman asks Steve if Chad didn’t tell him why Clyde called him. Steve says that Chad said he just called to gloat but the way he was acting gave him the feeling that he was hiding something.

EJ questions Chad speaking to Clyde. Chad confirms that Clyde called him yesterday. Chad wanted him to tell him where Abigail’s remains were and Clyde said he’d tell him on the one condition that he got the charges against Cat Green dropped. EJ asks why Clyde would give a damn about Cat since she failed to get Chad’s millions. Chad clarifies that Clyde doesn’t want to help Cat, but he wants her head.

Roman doesn’t get why Chad would keep anything that Clyde told him a secret. Steve guesses it could be to get information. Steve talks about Chad being unable to find Abigail’s remains, so maybe he’s hoping to get information from Clyde. Roman can’t imagine that Clyde will be that forthcoming. Steve confirms that Chad said Clyde wouldn’t give him anything and asks why he would unless there’s something in it for him. Roman asks if Steve thinks that’s what Chad is hiding and maybe they made some kind of deal where Chad gives Clyde something in return for the information.

Chad confirms to EJ that Clyde said he would tell him where Abigail’s body is in exchange for bringing him Cat Green’s head, but says Clyde is not going to get that. EJ questions if Chad is saying it’s okay with him that the man who brutally murdered his wife keeping her remains and then asks if Chad’s not going to give Cat Green to Clyde, then why is he trying to get her released. EJ questions if Chad doesn’t want Cat to pay for what she’s done.

Sarah questions Philip saying that Xander tried to kill him. Philip explains that he found Xander here by himself, talking to Victor’s portrait and saying the only way to prevent him from blocking his deal is to murder him. Sarah insists that Xander didn’t mean that but Philip brings up Xander’s past and asks if he’s the kind of man to make idle threats. Philip then informs Sarah that Victor kept a gun in the safe and when Xander got a hold of it, he pointed it at him. Sarah assures that Xander would never shoot him. Philip says that’s what he thought, until Xander pulled the trigger. Philip declares that if the gun had been loaded, he’d be a dead man.

Xander threatens to buy whatever streaming service airs Body and Soul. Kate argues that he wouldn’t but Xander says he will, unless she gets Philip to drop the injunction. Xander declares that if Kate doesn’t help him get the serum, Body and Soul will need it even more than Sarah does.

Brady questions Kristen demanding Titan in exchange for the serum and how she was doing it for him. Kristen calls it obvious since once Basic Black is no longer controlled by Titan but by her, he would work for her at DiMera and she would hand over Basic Black to him with free reign. Brady questions her demanding Xander hand over his multi national giant corporation just so he could be in charge of one division of it. Kristen feels it’s not that crazy and calls DiMera a family business while Brady and Rachel are her family. Kristen argues that this is how they create a legacy as a family. Kristen asks if that’s out of the question, pointing out that they have been getting closer the past few months. Kristen adds that Rachel is the number one fan of them being a forever family. Kristen knows it is coming out of the blue and not what he expected. Kristen admits they struggled in the past but says they know what’s good between them, saying it was magical and perfect. Kristen thinks they should try to work on this again, insisting that they can fix it and that she’s willing to put in the work if he is. Brady agrees that family is important but states that Victor is his family and it would be his nightmare to have Titan under DiMera control, so he won’t be part of it. Brady tells Kristen that her fantasy of them being a happy family is not going to happen and definitely not under these circumstances. Kristen asks if there are circumstances where they could be a family again. Kristen asks if he’s saying that if she didn’t demand Titan for the serum, then they could be together?

Sarah tells Philip that sorry is not enough but she doesn’t know what to say. Philip states that Xander is the one who crossed the line while Sarah did nothing wrong. Philip tells Sarah that he really likes her, so no matter how he feels about Xander, he wants her to know that he doesn’t want to make things between them more stressful. Philip wants Sarah to know that she’s not alone in thinking Xander is acting irrational about the serum and that’s why he’s so concerned. Philip argues that he’s just trying to protect his father’s legacy and that Victor wanted him to have a hand in running Titan, so he’s just trying to fulfill his wishes. Philip insists it’s what Victor wanted or he wouldn’t have written that letter. Philip tells Sarah to take care as he then exits.

Kate questions if Xander would actually cancel her show. Xander confirms that he would. Kate asks if he thinks buying a streaming service is that easy. Xander points out he has the capital but Kate says he doesn’t, Titan does, and she’s well aware of the uncertainty that Philip’s letter presents. Kate calls Xander’s bluff and argues that Philip is doing him a favor by relieving him of his duties. Kate tells Xander to just let Philip run Titan and find other things to do to fill his time. Xander warns that this isn’t over. Kate jokes that Body and Soul can hire him as a big dumb hunk. Xander then storms out of the studio.

Chad tells EJ that he wants Cat to pay for what she did as it was cruel and should earn her a special place in Hell, insisting that no one is more angry at her than him. EJ questions why he wants her released then since her only use to him was as a bargaining chip for Abigail’s remains and he said he had no intent of using her in that way. Chad clarifies that he never said that, only that he wouldn’t let Clyde kill her. Chad says he doesn’t feel sympathy for Cat but he doesn’t want her blood on his hands, so he doesn’t want her to die but he’s not above using her to get what he wants. EJ asks what the plan is then. Chad responds that the plan is to make Clyde think he’s willing to make the trade and then when the time comes, he’ll make damn sure that Clyde doesn’t get what he wants.

Steve tells Roman that he heard Chad’s side of the conversation and he didn’t say anything that gave him the impression he was making a deal with Clyde as he just told him to go to Hell and hung up, but now he’s thinking about how Chad was really uneasy with him after the call, so he was definitely hiding something. Steve remembers asking Chad who was calling, so he wonders if Clyde heard him and knew he was there. Steve says he was looking right at Chad when he told Clyde to go to Hell and it was like he was saying it for his benefit. Steve concludes that if Chad had made some kind of deal with Clyde to find out where Abigail’s remains were, that go to Hell could’ve been code to doing whatever Clyde wanted.

EJ goes over Chad preventing Clyde from killing Cat and then questions if he’s just supposed to tell him where Abigail’s body is. Chad explains that he will go through the motions and make Clyde think that he’s going through with the trade in order to get him to tell him where Abigail’s body is. EJ questions if Clyde is just going to let them skip away after that. Chad insists he’s thought this through and knows the risk involved. Chad gets that Clyde is a homicidal maniac but he has his wife’s remains, so he’s willing to do whatever it takes.

Brady tells Kristen that he’s not saying they are going to be a happy family, but if she demands Titan in order to give Sarah the serum, then there’s no chance. Brady calls it a deal breaker if she profits off Sarah walking again. Brady tells her that in that case, she can kiss any chance of them being together again goodbye.

Kate goes to see Philip at the Salem Inn and tells him that they have a problem as Xander came to see her. Kate talks about how Xander was threatening her show but says it isn’t about her and that Xander is going to do everything he can to undermine Philip. Philip says to let him and he’ll do the same thing to Xander.

Xander goes home to the Kiriakis Mansion and greets Sarah in the living room. Sarah informs him that Philip was just there and said that Xander tried to kill him. Xander argues that he’s exaggerating. Sarah asks if he didn’t aim a gun at him. Xander admits he did, but it wasn’t loaded. Sarah asks if he knew it wasn’t loaded when he aimed it and pulled the trigger. Sarah says this is what she was afraid of. Xander argues that she wasn’t there and doesn’t understand as Philip was goading him and asking for it. Sarah tells him that this has to stop as first it was Brady and now Philip. Sarah asks when his insane obsession with vengeance is going to end.

Steve gets a text that EJ dropped all the charges against Cat Green. Roman is shocked and questions why EJ would let her go after everything she did to Chad. Steve says he has no idea but guesses Chad had no objections. Roman talks about putting that together with the way Chad was acting after the call from Clyde. Steve feels it’s all playing out exactly how Clyde wants it to.

EJ tells Chad that for the record, he doesn’t like this and thinks it’s dangerous. Chad says that EJ has been clear where he stands, but he’s going through with it. Chad feels he owes it to Abigail. EJ worries that Paulina will be demanding his head when she hears what he’s done. Chad asks if EJ will let Cat go then. EJ confirms that he dropped the charges and Cat is being released as they speak. EJ advises Chad to be careful as he exits.

Philip tells Kate about Xander trying to kill him, but admits that he took the gun from the safe and may have provoked him in to it. Philip notes that when he told Sarah, he may have forgot to mention that part. Kate says that what’s important is that Xander is a would-be killer and the same amoral bastard he’s always been. Philip says that he and Xander are taking sibling rivalry to a catastrophic level.

Xander tells Sarah that his insane obsession with vengeance won’t end until he makes everyone pay for what they have done to Sarah. Xander complains that it’s killing him to see Sarah hurt in this way and that his own mother caused this and now his own brother won’t let her get the help that she needs. Sarah asks if he’s just going to keep going around causing other people pain and maybe even killing them, arguing that he would end up doing 25 to life in prison. Sarah tells Xander that they can’t live this way as this is not who they are. Sarah argues that her being able to walk again is not worth taking someone’s life or throwing away his own. Brady walks in and says he’s sorry to interrupt but informs them that he went to see Kristen to try to reason with her and get her to drop her demand for Titan.

Kristen looks to the portrait of Stefano and thinks he would’ve been very proud of Brady today as he gave her an ultimatum, forcing her to choose between being noble and being mercenary, between love and money. Kristen really hopes she made the right choice.

Xander thanks Brady for trying but guesses that Kristen turned him down flat and wouldn’t give up her demand for Titan. Brady reveals that she actually didn’t turn him down as he then presents the serum to Sarah.

Marlena finds flowers at home and opens the card, reading it’s from John, saying he can’t wait to celebrate their 7th Anniversary when he gets home.

At the Kiriakis Mansion, Maggie tearfully looks up at the portrait of Victor as Sarah comes in and wishes her a Happy Anniversary, then presents her with a stuffed animal elephant.

Kristen shows up at Marlena’s door and asks if Brady is there. Marlena informs her that Brady and Tate went out for awhile. Kristen decides she’ll just sit there and wait.

Brady and Johnny go to the park. Brady thanks Johnny for setting up a family baseball game which Johnny calls a perfect way to celebrate Marlena and John’s anniversary. Brady brings up knowing it’s a tough time for Johnny and asks how he and Chanel are doing. Johnny admits they are not great but working through it. Johnny says he doesn’t want to talk about him anymore and he’s looking forward to the game. Brady comments that it will be good for the family. Johnny then asks where Tate is. Brady responds that he’s finishing up some community service but should be there soon.

Tate walks through the town square and runs in to Holly.

Maggie questions the stuffed animal that Sarah gave her. Sarah explains the anniversary gift and says she thought it would put a smile on her face. Maggie says it does, but she was just thinking about her 13th anniversary last year when she was feeling very lost but comforted by Konstantin’s presence. Maggie brings up that Konstantin gave her a gift that day too, of the lace table cloth from the bargain bin which he said was an heirloom from Greece. Maggie says that Konstantin thought he could win her over with gifts but she had two wonderful marriages and could never give her heart to anyone else now. Sarah says she has given her heart to her granddaughter, Victoria. Maggie admits she put a spark in her heart when she needed it and now Victoria is the reason she looks forward to every morning. Sarah tells Maggie that the stuffed animal is from Victoria. Maggie talks about how she’ll always remember Victor.

Tate asks Holly how it’s going. Holly says she was just picking up pastries for Maggie’s wedding anniversary. Tate brings up it being Marlena’s too. Tate says he’s on his way to the park to play a family baseball game to celebrate. Holly tells him to have fun and starts to walk away but Tate stops her.

Johnny tells Brady that he can’t believe Tate is already a senior. Brady comments on barely seeing him for the last couple of years. Johnny points out that he’s making up for lost time now. Brady thanks Eric for that since if he didn’t figure out that he wasn’t behind the hit and run, he would’ve lost ten more years with his son. Johnny calls Eric a hero. Brady calls Eric the best brother a guy could have. Brady’s other half brother Paul then arrives and jokingly asks Brady if he’s chopped liver.

Kristen comments on Marlena’s flowers which she notes are for her anniversary. Kristen wishes her a happy one and asks if they are doing anything exciting but Marlena reminds her that John is out of town. Kristen calls it disappointing that John will miss the special day but Marlena informs her that he will be coming home. Kristen mentions wanting to talk to Brady about Rachel. The doorbell rings and Marlena is surprised by her daughter Belle arriving and they embrace.

Sarah tells Maggie that she wants to be present for her anniversary, so she doesn’t want to take her meds that make her groggy and promises she’s fine. Maggie argues that Philip is wrong for blocking Xander’s transfer of Titan to Kristen and she knows that Victor would agree with her. Julie arrives with some of Alice’s donuts and wishes Maggie a happy anniversary as they hug. Julie says Doug sends his regards as he has a winter cold. Julie thinks Doug has been feeling down because of the Abigail situation. Maggie says they all are. Julie comments on Chad being betrayed in the worst way. Maggie asks if they found out who the woman was. Julie reveals that Cat is Konstantin’s granddaughter which shocks Maggie and Sarah. Julie explains that Konstantin’s daughter Catharina somehow survived being shot, so John never killed anyone. Maggie says that John must be so relieved to not have her blood on his hands. Sarah points out that it also means Victor didn’t use The Pawn to kill Catharina, so this exonerates Victor too and Maggie can let go of that guilt. Maggie thanks her as she looks up at the portrait of Victor.

Brady hugs Paul and says he’s so glad he made it as he didn’t think he’d be able to fly in. Paul says he moved his schedule around last minute and greets Johnny. Brady says he didn’t mean to pressure Paul but they couldn’t do it without the baseball star of the family. Johnny jokes about striking out 4 times the last time they played. Brady notes that Paul being there will be a huge surprise for John and Marlena but it’s not the only one.

Tate tells Holly that he feels really terrible about the whole situation. Holly brings up Tate sleeping with Sophia and says there’s nothing left to say except goodbye and walks away.

Marlena tells Belle that John will be thrilled to see her. Belle didn’t know she had company as Kristen calls Belle her future sister in law and asks about her relationship status. Belle doesn’t care to share with Kristen. Marlena talks about Kristen waiting for Brady to come home even though it will be a while. Andrew Donovan then shows up at the door, surprising Marlena.

Maggie talks about knowing what kind of man Victor was when she married him and then Konstantin showed up, making her feel doubts and guilt. Sarah notes that Konstantin was there to play her from day one. Sarah bets Konstantin knew his daughter was alive all along but Maggie doesn’t think so, feeling the pain behind his eyes was real. Maggie adds that finding out Konstantin’s hate was baseless makes Victor’s death even more senseless. Julie apologizes if her news upset her but Maggie says she’s grateful to know that Victor was innocent, especially on their day. Holly then arrives and apologizes for being late as she greets them. Maggie asks if Holly is alright. Holly says she is but then admits she isn’t as she just ran in to Tate on her way home. Maggie asks if they talked. Holly explains that they actually talked yesterday and she told him that she wanted to get back together but he said no because he’s with someone else now, her ex best friend Sophia. Holly guesses that she and Tate are done for good now. Julie says she wouldn’t be sure about that.

Tate joins Brady, Johnny, and Paul in the park. Tate is surprised to see Paul as they hug. Johnny jokes that he wants Paul on his team. Tate and Paul talk about how long it’s been since they’ve seen each other. Paul asks Tate about lacrosse camp which Tate calls a long story. Tate asks if Andrew is with Paul. Paul responds that he’s on an ISA assignment. Brady asks if things are okay with them. Paul says they couldn’t be better and then announces that when they get back home, he plans on proposing to Andrew.

Marlena invites Andrew in and says it’s great to see him. Kristen talks about knowing of Andrew through her nephew Dimitri and says they were so grateful for the help he gave him. Marlena asks if Paul is with him but Andrew says he’s back at home in San Francisco. Marlena asks if he’s going to see Tate. Andrew confirms that he plans to but reveals he actually came to see Marlena because Shane sent him to deliver a message about John. Belle asks if everything is okay. Andrew states that John is fine but he had to go to Washington DC because the ISA needed him to consult on an important case that required his expertise. Kristen calls that awful since it’s his wedding anniversary but Marlena tells her it’s none of her business. Marlena tells Andrew to thank Shane for her. Andrew says he’s sorry for the timing but it was an emergency but John said he hates to miss their special day and sent a gift with him.

Johnny, Brady, Paul, and Tate finish their baseball game. Brady and Johnny ask Paul about proposing to Andrew. Paul says he already bought the ring and he’s waiting for the right moment when they get back home. Paul hopes Andrew says yes which Brady and Tate encourage that he will. Paul recalls the last time he almost married Sonny, only for Ben Weston to walk in and announces that Will was alive. Paul wants to be optimistic that nothing like that will happen again but repeats that it depends on Andrew saying yes which Johnny assures that he will. Brady asks about how long they’ve been together. Paul says it’s been two years and talks about when John came to visit during the gay pride parade and how that was a huge turning point for them. Brady talks about how happy John was to be there for Paul while Paul talks about how proud he was of John. They all agree on John being the best. Tate decides they should head home soon. Brady mentions wanting to stop by to see Maggie since it’s her and Victor’s anniversary too. Brady invites Tate to come but Tate declines. Brady questions Tate not wanting to see Holly. Tate responds that it’s just not a good idea since he’s not getting back with her. Tate appreciates Brady’s advice but explains that he didn’t think it was the right thing to do because of Sophia. Brady understands and promises that things will happen the way they are supposed to.

Holly tells Julie that she doesn’t know the whole story since she broke up with Tate so she can’t exactly ask him to take her back twice. Maggie, Julie, and Sarah talk about living that story at different times. Sarah feels she and Xander wrote the book on breaking up and getting back together. Sarah adds that not that long ago, she wanted to keep Xander as far away from her and their daughter as possible and now she couldn’t imagine her life without him. Julie recalls when she was Sarah’s age, she visited Maggie and there was a fire in the kitchen. Julie says Maggie saved her life but she was burned and disfigured, so she walked out on her husband as she couldn’t imagine how Doug could continue to love her with how she looked then. Julie says it was sad and stupid as she underestimated them. Julie declares that she got plastic surgery, changed her attitude, and got her husband back. Julie mentions her and Doug celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary two months ago. Holly asks if he was her first love. Julie mentions that she fell in love as a teenager too but he ran off with her best friend. Julie assures that she knows what Holly is going through and declares that they’ve all had their hearts broken, but there’s more room in a broken heart as they’ve all lived to tell the tale. Maggie adds that they aren’t discounting the pain Holly feels, but she has no doubt that she’ll have lots of twists and turns ahead for her and Tate. Maggie brings up never thinking she would fall in love again after Mickey died and definitely not with Victor Kiriakis, but she discovered he had a big heart and was very romantic so she was twice blessed. Maggie says she’ll never stop being grateful for the life she had with Victor, who made her very happy. Julie brings up Maggie seeing her and Doug go through plenty. They agree on how lucky they both are. Holly thanks them for giving her hope and lifting her spirits. Julie advises Holly to remember that it can all change just like that and to never say never. After they finish eating donuts together, Julie says she should get going home to Doug. Holly decides she has to go drop something off at a friend’s too and says she’ll be back to clean up afterwards. Holly and Julie then exit together. Maggie tells Sarah that it was a much nicer day than she imagined it would be.

Marlena opens John’s gift which is a charm for her bracelet that reads “All my love, all my life”. Belle calls it perfect. Johnny then arrives and hugs Marlena and wishes her a happy anniversary. Johnny then surprises them all by bringing in Paul. Paul says he took a flight to surprise Marlena and John for their anniversary and asks what Andrew is doing there. Andrew reveals that he came to deliver the news that John wouldn’t make it because he got called by Shane on ISA business. Kristen complains that she’s been ignored while waiting for Brady and asks where the hell he is.

Brady goes to the Kiriakis Mansion to wish Maggie a happy anniversary. Brady gives her a gift and hopes she’s having a good day. Maggie calls it an unexpectedly delightful day and says he just made it so much better. Brady tells Sarah that he talked to Kristen, who said the serum is just about ready. Sarah mentions that Xander has been stopped from handing Titan over to Kristen, so the news about the serum doesn’t mean much to her. Brady questions what she is talking about.

Johnny tells Kristen that Brady made a stop before coming home, so Kristen gets upset and decides to leave. Marlena agrees to tell Brady that she wants to talk to him. Kristen mockingly wishes Marlena a happy anniversary without her husband as she exits. Marlena calls this a great reunion but she’s sorry that John isn’t there to enjoy it. Paul then announces there is something they can celebrate which Belle questions. Paul says he was planning on doing this on Andrew’s next visit but since they are all there, the moment seems right. Paul then proposes to Andrew.

Tate remains in the park as Holly comes around the corner but stops when she sees him and goes back the other way.

Julie goes home and looks at an old photo of her and Doug before heading upstairs.

After Brady exits the Kiriakis Mansion, Sarah swears to Maggie that she thought Brady knew about the serum and what Kristen demanded of Xander but Maggie notes that he obviously didn’t. Sarah decides she will go check on Victoria. Maggie thanks Sarah for a lovely day as she exits the room. Maggie looks up at the portrait of Victor and wishes him a Happy Anniversary.

Andrew accepts Paul’s proposal as Marlena, Belle, and Johnny applaud. Marlena wishes John was there to share the moment with them. Marlena then gets a call from John and excitedly answers, wishing him a Happy Anniversary. Marlena tells him that Andrew delivered his gift and she loves it. Marlena tells John that she has a special surprise for him too and hands the phone to Paul. Paul wishes John a happy anniversary and announces that he has exciting news to share with him.

Brady goes to the DiMera Mansion where Kristen excitedly asks if Marlena told him that she stopped by. Brady says no and that he just wanted to see her himself as he told Tate what a wonderful and selfless thing she was doing for Sarah, but it’s too bad it was all a damn lie.

Belle talks to John on the phone, saying she misses him and they all wish he was there but they know what he’s doing is important. Belle wishes him a happy anniversary and hands the phone back to Marlena. Marlena agrees that they have great kids and grandkids. Marlena declares that they have built a wonderful family as she watches Johnny, Andrew, Paul, and Belle with a smile.

At the hospital, Rafe proposes to Jada. The doctors and nurses nearby watch on as Rafe jokes that he wasn’t expecting an audience but he does need an answer. Jada says yes to Rafe as the staff applauds. Rafe puts the ring on Jada’s finger as they embrace and kiss. Jada declares that she can’t believe she’s getting married.

Gabi goes home to Javi, who asks what happened with Stefan. Gabi responds that she can’t believe it, but they are getting a divorce.

Leo works on ideas for Body and Soul at the bar as Alex arrives and greets him. Leo says he was just coming up with a story for his character Arrow. Leo brings up Alex sleeping with the show’s publicist which he tells him to keep quiet. Leo asks how that’s going. Alex informs him that it’s not as he and Stephanie are over.

Stephanie sits with Joy in the town square, telling her that they are announcing her entry to the cast in a press release as she starts filming next week. Joy comments that her social media is about to explode. Stephanie warns her that she might get some flack for her character being a homewrecker.

At the DiMera Mansion, Johnny praises Chanel for her work on Body and Soul, then asks what he can do for her. Chanel says she needs to head upstairs to take a shower but Johnny stops her and asks if they are okay. Chanel repeats that she really needs the shower. Johnny stops her and says he knows how badly he messed up. Chanel brings up how he accused her of sleeping with Alex. Johnny comments on being disgusted with himself and says he’s so sorry for saying unforgivable things to her, but points out that she did say she would forgive him. Chanel says she does forgive him, but it’s not easy to just move past it. Johnny says he gets that. Chanel repeats that Johnny accused her of destroying their marriage when she was totally innocent and he was the one who almost ruined their marriage.

Stephanie and Joy talk about Joy’s character being an obstacle for the supercouple, Faith and Arrow. Stephanie tells her to let her know if anything gets uncomfortable. Joy thanks her and says she has pretty thick skin. Stephanie encourages her about soap fans being passionate and reminds Joy that none of this is real as it’s not like she’s actually breaking up a relationship..

Leo questions Alex about he and Stephanie being done. Alex explains that Kate threatened to fire them if they continued since it’s not a good look for the show’s publicist to be sleeping with one of the actors. Leo jokes about that going for the writers too and talks about needing to find a man.

Javi asks what happened when Gabi went to see Stefan. Gabi responds that he wasn’t even there. Javi encourages her not to give up and go back then but Gabi reveals that Stefan had packed a bag and left the country with only a goodbye letter for EJ. Javi asks Gabi what now. Gabi informs him that she signed the papers, so as soon as they are filed, her marriage will be over once and for all. Javi hugs Gabi as Rafe and Jada then come home, announcing their engagement. Gabi congratulates them and hugs them, saying she’s so happy for them and jokes with Rafe that it’s about time. Rafe introduces Javi to Jada. Jada tells Javi that she’s sorry about his mother. Javi comments on his mother’s ring which Jada says she’s honored to have. Javi says it looks perfect on her. Javi asks how Rafe proposed. Jada reveals it was actually at the hospital after she arrested someone and knocked them out. Rafe explains how he was on the phone with Jada when he heard the gun go off and the line went dead. Gabi says that must have been awful for him to think she was shot. Rafe points out that Jada was okay, but it made him realize that he’s the luckiest man in the world and he never wants to spend a day without her. Gabi thanks God that Jada is safe and hopes whoever she arrested is going to prison for a long time. Rafe then reveals that it was Vivian Alamain.

Leo talks to Alex about how he thought his luck had changed with Dimitri but he ripped his heart out and stomped all over it. Alex insists that he knows the feeling which Leo questions. Leo argues that Alex could have anyone he wants but Alex says it’s not like that. Leo adds that now that he’s a soap star, women must be throwing themselves at him. Alex says that’s not what he wants anymore after finding something special but then it all gets snatched away when things are starting to feel right. Leo admits he forgot about Alex’s five minute marriage to Theresa and guesses she really messed him up, unless it’s not Theresa they are talking about.

Gabi questions Vivian being in Salem and informs Javi that she is Stefan’s mother. Gabi asks what she was doing in town. Jada says that she didn’t say. Gabi remarks that if she came to see her son, she’s wasting a trip. Rafe asks what that means. Gabi says it doesn’t matter and asks more about the proposal. Rafe admits it wasn’t the most romantic place, but he got caught up in the moment of being relieved that Jada was okay. Jada jokes that they were surrounded by everyone at the hospital, who all broke out in applause after she said yes. Gabi suggests they go celebrate. Javi asks if she’s sure. Gabi insists that it’s a happy occasion. Jada says that sounds fun so she will go shower and change. Javi decides he and Gabi will go get a head start. Rafe asks if Gabi is sure she’s okay. Gabi assures that she wants to go celebrate the start of a marriage. Rafe and Jada go to get ready as Gabi comments on it also being the end of her marriage.

Nancy finds Joy in the town square and says that Bonnie just told her about Joy getting the job on Body and Soul. Nancy hugs her and says she’s so proud of her. Nancy warns Joy that she is going to have to watch herself since Bonnie told her about Alex sleeping with Stephanie on set and how the producers almost fired them both. Joy jokes that she’s not going to sleep with Stephanie. Nancy says she doesn’t want her to blow up this big opportunity so she wants to make sure she doesn’t sleep with anyone on set…

Johnny tells Chanel that he did a stupid thing and he doesn’t know why he even let himself believe that she would cheat on him, but his jealousy got the better of him and he wasn’t thinking straight. Johnny knows it will take work for them to get past this and he promises that no matter how long it takes, he will do whatever he has to do to get past this. Johnny asks if Chanel thinks that day will come where she can trust him again. Chanel admits she’s not ready to throw out their marriage over an awful name that he called her, so Johnny thanks her. Chanel calls it a good thing that it was all just a misunderstanding as it’s not like either of them actually cheated on the other. Johnny then says there’s something he needs to tell her. Chanel asks what’s going on. Johnny flashes back to Joy returning his ring to him. Chanel then asks Johnny what he wanted to tell her.

Joy questions why Nancy would assume that she’s going to be sleeping around on set. Nancy argues that she has a habit of getting herself in the messiest situations, like finding a man’s wedding ring in her room which she still hasn’t told her about. Joy says she doesn’t plan to. Nancy apologizes for prying, but says she got herself on a big TV show that’s an amazing opportunity so she just wants her to succeed. Nancy asks Joy not to get in her own way. Joy reminds Nancy that when she goes back to New York, she’s going to have to trust her. Nancy says she does trust her as she’s capable of taking care of herself. Nancy adds that before she goes back to New York, they need to find Joy lodging. Joy says she has been looking at apartment listings. Nancy says that’s too expensive but feels she has the perfect place.

Stephanie goes to the bar, so Leo calls her over and tells her that they were just talking about her. Alex says to ignore him, so Stephanie asks if they weren’t talking about him. Leo tells Alex that he’s on his own. Alex asks if they can talk in private. Leo jokes that he was hoping to get some inspiration but tells them to go ahead and ditch him. Alex and Stephanie step aside. Stephanie asks what’s going on. Alex says he just wanted to apologize for the whole mess with Kate. Stephanie acknowledges they were both in that hospital bed but she’s glad Kate didn’t fire them and gave them a second chance as long as they keep their distance from each other. Alex remarks that since Stephanie doesn’t want to sleep with him anymore, that shouldn’t be too difficult for her. Stephanie responds that she only said that because she thought he was sleeping with someone else.

Chanel asks Johnny again what he wanted to tell her. Johnny claims he just wanted to promise to never do anything so hurtful again and he only ever wants to make her feel love. Chanel says she will hold him to that. Johnny decides he’s starving and wants to take her out to the Brady Pub which Chanel agrees to.

Jada puts on a dress as Rafe calls her the sexiest off duty cop he’s ever seen and they kiss.

Leo remarks to himself that he’s alone again with his laptop as his only loyal companion. Leo jokes that maybe he should create his own love interest until Javi walks in and takes a seat next to Leo at the bar. Javi asks Leo about his drink which Leo lets him try. Javi asks what Leo is working on. Leo informs him that he’s a writer. Javi comments that he always thought that was a sexy profession with smart and creative guys. Javi introduces himself to Leo. Gabi then comes in and tells Javi to step away from Leo. Stephanie explains to Alex that she thought he was sleeping with Chanel when Leo said he was sleeping with someone on set and she didn’t realize he meant her. Alex asks if Stephanie was jealous. Stephanie admits maybe she was.

Chanel and Johnny go to the Pub for dinner. Johnny brings up never getting a chance to thank her for throwing him a surprise party and calls it really thoughtful of her. Johnny says he’s just sorry that he didn’t get to enjoy it and that he ruined it. Chanel jokes that maybe they’ll stay away from surprises for awhile and suggests skipping a party for her birthday. Nancy and Joy then enter the Pub. Nancy greets them and asks if they have met Joy.

Rafe suggests to Jada that they head to the bedroom. Jada reminds him that Javi and Gabi are waiting for them. Rafe says they can take care of themselves as he and Jada kiss, then head to the bedroom.

Javi questions Gabi pulling him away from the bar and what the problem is. Gabi responds that Leo is the problem. Javi felt Leo is cute but Gabi calls Leo a total creep. Gabi brings up how Leo did everything he could to break up Will and Sonny’s marriage. Gabi says if she told him about some of the things Leo’s done, his eyes would pop out. Javi is sure he’s not that bad. Gabi informs him that Leo seduced Sonny and had sex on his desk so he could use it as blackmail but Javi and Leo continue looking at one another. Alex questions Stephanie about breaking it off because she thought he was sleeping with someone else. Stephanie brings up that there is the job side of it too. Alex thought she just didn’t want to sleep together anymore and mentions Stephanie saying that every time they did was a mistake. Stephanie clarifies that was because she thought he just wanted to be friends with benefits and that felt emotionally unsafe. Alex asks if she’s saying if he wanted more than that, she would too. Stephanie declares it doesn’t matter now since Kate was so adamant, so maybe this is for the best and they can go back to just being great friends. Rafe and Jada arrive at the bar. Gabi questions what took them so long. Rafe says Jada just needed to get changed. Javi decides he will get a bottle of champagne. Gabi says she’ll get it but Javi insists.

Chanel tells Nancy that she’s already met Joy and they are happy to have her on the show, joking that even though her character is to mess up her relationship but says the more drama on the show, the better. Nancy is glad they will all be working together since Joy is so new at this and she’ll be working with friends. Joy says they’ve all been very welcoming. Nancy tells Johnny that since Joy is so new at this and he’s the director, she hoped he would be able to show her a little special attention…

Javi goes to the bar to order a bottle of champagne where he ends up talking to Leo again and apologizes for his cousin Gabi interrupting them. Leo is sure Gabi gave him an earful about him. Javi confirms that she certainly tried to scare him off by telling him about all the nasty things Leo has done, but he doesn’t scare easily and he likes a bad boy. Leo says that’s good because he likes whatever kind of boy he is. Leo then asks Javi for his number.

Johnny tells Nancy that they are a team at Body and Soul, so he’s happy to do whatever he can to help. Chanel jokes that she can wait for their first catfight. Nancy asks if they have seen Roman. Johnny says he hasn’t but he might be in the back. Nancy mentions that she hoped to rent a room for Joy. Joy questions her wanting her to live at the Pub. Nancy explains that Roman rents affordable rooms upstairs and she’d be around a lot of people to meet. Nancy decides she will text Roman and that she and Joy will have their dinner at the bar but Chanel invites them to join her and Johnny. Joy says she’s sure they want to be alone and doesn’t want to crash their date night. Chanel says it’s not really a date night and that they were having breakfast for dinner. Chanel insists on them joining and jokes that she wants to get to know the person coming to steal her man. Nancy thanks Chanel and says it’s very kind of them. Chanel remarks that they are very happy to take Joy under their wing.

Rafe apologizes to Gabi for living it up and celebrating their engagement while Gabi is going through a divorce. Gabi insists that she’s good and is glad to see them happy. Stephanie comes over and spots Jada’s ring which she shows to her. Stephanie excitedly hugs Jada and Rafe as she congratulates them. Stephanie and Jada step aside together while Rafe asks Gabi what happened when she went to see Stefan. Gabi says they don’t have to talk about this tonight but Rafe insists, saying that Gabi said she was going to fight for her marriage but then he saw her ring on the table and she said something about Vivian wasting her time. Gabi explains that she was ready to fight and give it a shot, but when she got to the DiMera Mansion, she found out that Stefan left the country and is never coming back. Rafe says he’s sorry but Gabi says it’s fine and tonight she wants to celebrate he and Jada. Javi returns with glasses of champagne and calls it a celebration. Stephanie and Jada go back to join them while Leo pours himself some champagne at the bar. Javi then texts Leo and they raise a glass to each other. Alex takes another look at Stephanie before he exits the bar.

Johnny and Joy exchange looks as they eat together with Chanel and Nancy at the Pub.

Vivian demands to speak to a lawyer. Jada says she can do at the police station. Jada then gets a call from Rafe, who asks where she is. Jada informs him that she’s bringing in a perp from the Salem Inn. Rafe asks if she wants to grab a bite when she gets back. Jada says she would love to but she has to book Vivian Alamain first. Rafe is surprised to learn the perp is Vivian. Jada states that she walked right back in to Salem, making her job easier.

EJ is at the DiMera Mansion, on the phone with Chad and asks how he’s holding up. Chad responds that he’s alive. EJ asks if there’s anything he or the kids need. Chad says that they are just processing things and he’s just glad he never let the kids think their mother was still alive as it would’ve been devastating for them to lose her again. Chad repeats that he’s thankful he never told them. EJ states that Cat Green had them all fooled. Chad says it’s more than that as he married her and was going to spend the rest of his life with her because he so desperately wanted to believe it, but Cat and Mark just wanted to kill him and take his money. EJ assures that he will do everything he can to throw the book at them.

Cat and Mark remain in their holding cells where Cat tells Mark how Abigail’s remains are missing from her grave and Chad thinks she had something to do with it which is why he came to see her. Cat admits she thought maybe Chad was coming to see how she was doing. Mark guesses she still has feelings for Chad. Cat says Mark warned her not to get too close, but he didn’t deserve what they did as she hurt him so badly. Mark says they both know she didn’t have a choice. Cat remarks that it was to save their mom, for all the good that did. Cat says she’s grateful that Chad is still alive, but Clyde has to be furious that they didn’t get those funds transferred. Cat feels they have to be realistic that there’s no hope their mother is still alive as there’s nothing stopping Clyde from following through on his threat.

Rafe congratulates Jada, noting Vivian as a big fish to reel in, but advises her to be careful and not turn her back on her. Rafe then hears Jada questions what Vivian is doing and a shot is heard in the background causing Rafe to worry.

Mark asks Cat how to tell their brother and sister that they lost their mom not once, but twice. Cat thinks they need to tell them everything, including who she is. Cat admits she’s not ready for that but it killed her to see them in the park and not be able to tell them that she is their sister. Mark hopes they haven’t already found out with them being on the news. Aaron then shows up, surprising Mark. Aaron asks him to please tell him this is some mistake and that he wasn’t in Europe, trying to kill Chad DiMera.

EJ tells Chad that he thinks of how close they came to losing him. Chad says he’s grateful to still be alive even though he lost Abigail all over again. EJ knows it must have felt like a miracle. Chad calls it the answer to all his prayers. Vivian’s servant Ivan sneaks in to the DiMera Mansion and accidentally knocks something over by the door. EJ questions the noise and tells Chad that he has to go as he heard a crash in the foyer. Ivan sneaks upstairs as EJ comes to check and then Gabi arrives at the door, saying she’s there to see her husband.

Ivan sneaks in to Stefan’s bedroom at the DiMera Mansion and declares that he will take care of everything for Vivian.

Rafe goes to the Salem Inn looking for Jada and bursts in to the room with his gun drawn.

Chad sits at home with a framed photo of he and Abigail as he thinks back to confronting Cat in Paris. Steve then arrives and greets Chad, asking how he’s feeling today. Chad admits it changes by the hour from anger to confusion to grief as he doesn’t know how he let it happen and didn’t see or feel it. Steve says his heart was open and she took advantage. Chad says he was so sure it was her. Steve brings up the DNA test proving it. Chad says he just wanted to believe, even after Jennifer had the reaction that it wasn’t her daughter and Steve warned him. Steve wishes he figured out what Mark and Cat were up to sooner, as he feels like he let him down. Chad assures that if Steve didn’t show up in Paris when he did, his kids would’ve lost both of their parents and their inheritance. Chad acknowledges that Steve saved him and his whole family. Steve calls them his family too, noting that he would do anything for Chad, the kids, and Abigail. Chad says he’s grateful to him for that, which is why he hates to ask but he needs another favor. Chad informs Steve that he went to see Cat, feeling that she had to know something about Abigail missing from her grave but she didn’t and she has no reason to lie to him now so he believes her. Chad tells Steve that he needs to get in to see Clyde, but Steve informs him that he’s afraid that’s not possible. Chad says he knows Clyde is in super max but Steve reveals that Clyde is no longer behind bars.

Aaron asks if Mark tried to kill Chad DiMera and demands an answer. Mark says he really shouldn’t be here. Aaron tells him not to talk to him like he’s a stupid kid, arguing that he deserves to know what’s going on and asks how to explain this to their sister Felicity. Mark wishes he knew and tells him he’s sorry. Aaron argues that he should be since he lied to them about going to Europe to help settle their parent’s estate. Mark says he didn’t want them to be involved. Aaron questions what the hell is going on. Mark calls it complicated. Aaron asks what this is and why he would do something insane. Mark responds that he had no choice as if he didn’t do what he wanted, this maniac was threatening to kill their mother. Aaron asks what he’s talking about since their mom is dead. Aaron turns to Cat and questions what’s going on and why Mark is looking at her.

Rafe finds Jada in the room of the Salem Inn with Vivian on the ground as Jada calls for an ambulance. Rafe asks what happened and if Jada is okay. Jada says she’s fine but Rafe was right to warn her not to turn her back on Vivian. Jada explains that while she was on the phone with Rafe, Vivian tried to grab her gun from her holster, they struggled, and then it went off. Jada clarifies that Vivian wasn’t shot as she wrestled the gun away from her, but she fell backwards and hit her head on the desk. Jada says the ambulance is on the way, so hopefully Vivian will be alright. Rafe checks on Vivian and asks if she can hear him.

Ivan begins packing a bag, saying he’s going to make it look like Stefan left town on his own free will because Vivian’s wishes are his command.

EJ tells Gabi that he’ll see to it that Stefan gets the divorce papers but Gabi informs him that she hasn’t signed them yet. EJ questions why not since he thought she was done with Stefan the second he took Ava to bed. Gabi asks why this is any of his business. EJ says one could argue that Gabi put him in the middle of it when she climbed in to his bed. Gabi doesn’t want to talk about that and asks if Stefan is there or not. EJ says he hasn’t seen him all day, adding that he hasn’t seen him in awhile but that’s not unusual. EJ tells Gabi to feel free to go upstairs to see if he’s in his room which Gabi agrees to do.

Vivian is brought in to the hospital and handcuffed to a bed. Rafe is at her side and asks how she’s feeling. Vivian responds that she wants Jada arrested for assaulting her. Rafe informs her that he’s not back on active duty, but Jada is the acting commissioner. Vivian wants to speak to the mayor and says she wants Jada removed from the force. Jada reminds Vivian that she grabbed her gun. Vivian calls this outrageous and says she wants the handcuffs off immediately but Jada says she’s afraid that can’t happen. Vivian demands they let her out. Rafe tells her to save her energy as she was caught fair and square, so as soon as she’s feeling better, she will be transferred to a jail cell and no one’s going to help her.

Ivan declares that Stefan is all packed and he only has one more detail to attend to. Gabi goes to Stefan’s room and stops outside the door, thinking back to getting her divorce papers. Gabi wonders if she’s supposed to knock now. Gabi then decides it used to be her room too, so she just walks in looking for Stefan while Ivan hides. Gabi then finds the fake letter that Ivan planted to be from Stefan.

Aaron recognizes Cat from the park and questions why she’s in jail with Mark. Aaron decides it doesn’t matter as none of this makes sense but questions why Mark is talking about their mother like she’s still alive when their parents died in a car crash. Mark says that’s what they were led to believe but it’s not true. Aaron questions what he is saying. Mark reveals that their mom survived the crash. Aaron argues it’s not possible. Mark says he didn’t believe it at first either but it’s true and Clyde Weston got his hands on her and used her to force him to go after Chad in prison. Aaron questions their mom being out there somewhere. Mark explains that Clyde threatened that she would pay the price if he didn’t kill Chad. Aaron declares that they need to find Clyde and make him pay.

Chad questions Steve saying that Clyde is out of prison. Steve explains that Clyde’s lawyer got him a hearing in Montana and he escaped. Steve says Clyde might be out there now, but they are going to get him and when they do, Abigail will be at peace again. Chad then gets a call from an unknown number and it’s Clyde.

Ivan remains hiding as Gabi questions what Stefan could possibly have to say to EJ. EJ then enters the room and guesses Gabi didn’t find Stefan. EJ asks about the envelope which Gabi informs him is a letter from Stefan, addressed to EJ and asks if he’s going to read it. EJ calls her incredibly pushy but Gabi doesn’t care. EJ then opens the letter and reads that “Stefan” wrote that by the time he reads this, he will be halfway across the Atlantic as he could not get past what happened between he and Gabi and he couldn’t stand the sight of them, so he must be the one to leave Salem. EJ reads that he would never forgive either of them and that they are both dead to him. Gabi runs out of the room in tears, so EJ goes after her. Ivan comes out and declares that with another forgery, Vivian really did outdid herself this time.

Vivian argues that she knows her rights and wants to speak to her lawyer now. Jada says she’ll get her a phone. Rafe notes that they’ll be adding assaulting a police officer to her list of charges, so she’s going away for a long time and won’t be able to hurt anyone he cares about.

Gabi goes back to the living room to her divorce papers. EJ comes over to say he’s so sorry but Gabi tells him not to touch her and accuses him of trying to take advantage like he always does. EJ says he was trying to comfort her but Gabi says nobody asked him to. Gabi complains that all EJ does is make everything worse. Gabi declares her marriage is over and it’s all EJ’s fault. Gabi blames EJ for destroying his brother and her in the process. Gabi says EJ leaves a trail of misery where ever he goes. EJ tells her to be honest about how this all happened as Gabi came to him because Stefan hurt her. Gabi screams at EJ to get out and leave her alone. EJ says it’s his house but agrees to go and exits.

Chad asks what Clyde wants. Steve questions Clyde being on the phone. Chad asks where Clyde is. Clyde responds that he’s at an undisclosed location. Chad guesses Clyde is disappointed that he’s still here. Clyde remarks that you win some and lose some. Chad asks where Abigail’s body is. Clyde says he’d be more than happy to reunite him with what’s left of Abigail, but first, he has to do something for him.

Mark tells Aaron to forget about Clyde as he doesn’t want him involved. Aaron says that when Mark is locked up, he can’t tell him what to do. Aaron complains that he trusted Mark more than anyone in his life, especially after they lost their parents and he doesn’t know what to believe now. Mark warns Aaron that this situation is very dangerous. Aaron feels there’s something he’s still not telling him. Mark swears that everything he’s done has been to protect Aaron and Felicity as that’s why he lied about Paris and couldn’t tell him about their mom. Aaron tells him to stop. Cat tells Aaron to listen to his brother. Aaron yells at her to stay out of it as this is a family matter that doesn’t involve her, but Cat says actually it does which Aaron questions. Cat informs Aaron that she is family and reveals that she is his sister. Aaron argues that she’s not and calls her some lady that he met at the park, who was Mark’s patient. Cat repeats that she is his sister. Mark offers to explain. Aaron questions Cat being involved in this, if she’s working for Clyde and if she’s the reason Mark is in prison. Cat then tells Aaron her name but Aaron argues that his sister Cat was in the accident that killed his parents. Cat confirms that she was. Aaron argues that she suffered extensive injuries and had been in a rehab clinic ever since. Cat states that she barely survived and had plastic surgery so she doesn’t look the same, but she is her. Aaron is shocked that it’s really her. Cat talks about babysitting Aaron growing up. Aaron can’t believe it. Mark calls it a lot to take in. Aaron excitedly talks about Cat being in Salem with them and asks where their mom is as he wants to see her.

Steve asks Chad what Clyde is saying and what he wants from him. Clyde hears and realizes Steve is with Chad. Clyde asks if Chad heard his proposal. Chad confirms he did. Clyde says he’s waiting on an answer. Steve asks Chad what it is. Clyde guesses Chad doesn’t want to tip off Steve and says he gets that because Steve would never be on board with his proposal. Clyde tells Chad that if the answer is yes, tell him to go to Hell. Chad then tells Clyde to go to Hell. Clyde says that’s what he thought he would say and calls that a good answer. Clyde says he’ll be in touch with details as he hangs up. Steve asks Chad what Clyde said. Chad claims that Clyde said nothing and refused to tell him where Abigail’s body was or where he was. Steve questions why he was calling then. Chad says that Clyde just called to gloat. Steve decides he should get busy tracking him down then. Chad thanks him. Steve asks if he’s sure he’s going to be okay. Chad says he will, so Steve then exits.

Ivan goes to Vivian’s room at the Salem Inn but finds it taped off with police caution tape. Ivan then gets a call from Vivian and asks where she is and what happened.

At the hospital, Jada tells Rafe that Vivian is making her phone call and she positioned a guard at her door. Rafe hopes that Vivian’s lawyer tells her to plead guilty and throw herself at the mercy of the court. Jada says she finds that highly unlikely with her. Jada questions why Rafe is looking at her like that. Rafe says he’s just glad she’s okay. Rafe talks about hearing the gunshot and no response. Jada apologizes, knowing he was very scared. Rafe admits he burst in to the room expecting the worst. Jada thanks him for worrying about her. Rafe says it’s only fair since she worried about him all those months that he was in a coma. Rafe tells Jada how much he loves her. Jada says she loves him too as they kiss. Jada says life or death moments like these remind them to not take the people you love for granted. Rafe promises not to take her for granted. Rafe then pulls out his aunt’s ring and gets down on one knee. Jada asks what he’s doing. Rafe says he had this whole romantic thing planned with dinner and dancing, but here they are in the hospital, and like she said, life or death moments make you realize that time stops for no one. Jada calls the ring beautiful as Rafe explains that it’s from his aunt Hilda, who said it broke her heart when she saw his heart break after his relationships fell apart and when she died, she left him the ring with a specific set of instructions to give it to someone that he knows he will love for the rest of his life and that person is Jada. Rafe then proposes to Jada. The doctors and nurses nearby watch on as Rafe jokes that he wasn’t expecting an audience but he does need an answer. Jada says yes to Rafe as the staff applauds. Rafe puts the ring on Jada’s finger as they embrace and kiss.

Ivan goes to Vivian’s hospital room and says he was so relieved to hear from her, complaining about what the police have done to her. Ivan wants to get her safe and free. Vivian tells him not to worry about that and asks what happened at the DiMera Mansion. Ivan confirms he packed Stefan’s suitcase and left the letter that she forged as from Stefan. Ivan says it worked out even better as Gabi found the letter and listened to EJ read it to her, leaving her utterly devastated. Vivian calls that some form of consolation.

Gabi decides that if a divorce is what Stefan really wants then a divorce is what he’s going to get as she signs the papers.

Mark tells Aaron that he would like to take him to their mom, so Aaron asks where she is then. Aaron questions what they aren’t telling him. Cat informs him that they don’t know where their mom is while Mark adds that they don’t know if she’s still alive which Aaron questions. Mark explains that Clyde was holding her hostage and gave them a mission to kill Chad DiMera and take his money, but they failed, so they don’t know if Clyde is following through on his threat to kill their mom. Cat reaches out to Aaron but Aaron says not to say his name like he’s a dumb kid that doesn’t understand. Aaron questions how they let this happen and didn’t go to the police. Mark says that Clyde made it clear they couldn’t, but promises they are doing everything they can to find her. Aaron says that he has to get out of here. Mark tells him not to do anything stupid and asks what he’s going to tell Felicity. Aaron responds that he doesn’t know but he has to get out of here. Cat tries to yell for Aaron to stop but he storms out.

EJ goes to see Chad, who thanks him for coming by and asks how things are at the mansion. EJ says all is well but notes Gabi stopping by and that Stefan apparently left town which Chad says he didn’t see coming. EJ says it seems Gabi and Stefan’s marriage is over, but he didn’t bring him over to talk about that. Chad asks about the Greens. EJ repeats that he will make sure Mark and Cat never see the outside of a prison cell again. Chad tells EJ to throw the book at Mark, but reveals he wants EJ to drop the charges against Cat as he wants her to go free which shocks EJ.

Vivian assures Philip that Kate believes he’s in the dark about her forging Victor’s letter. Philip thanks her. Vivian talks about being her idea to use her talent as a forger whether it’s letters or divorce papers..

Rafe goes home and starts talking to Gabi about his physical therapy but sees that Gabi is reading over her divorce papers which she reveals were delivered last night. Rafe says he’s sorry as he knows she was having doubts about going through with it and thought Stefan might be too. Gabi responds that she was wrong which Stefan’s signature proves.

Vivian insists that she may have forged the letter but it was Victor’s sentiments. Philip asks about Kate’s reaction and worries about it raising suspicions about them being in cahoots. Vivian tells Philip that she stopped Kate from calling the police and assures that she will be no problem.

Kate goes to the Brady Pub and decides against calling Jada as she thinks back to agreeing to Vivian’s deal.

Brady goes home where Tate is pacing in the living room. Brady asks if he’s alright. Tate informs him that Holly was just there as she just got back from Paris and came over to apologize and she wants to get back together. Brady guesses from his demeanor that it’s not a good thing. Tate reveals that something happened that Holly doesn’t know about. Brady asks what Holly doesn’t know. Tate then informs him that while Holly was gone, he slept with another girl.

After Ava leaves the town square, Sophia runs in to Holly and says she didn’t know she was back. Holly informs her that she just got back yesterday. Sophia tells Holly that there’s something she should know. Holly guesses she still hates her with every fiber of her being. Sophia says that’s old news and she’s talking about a more recent development about her and Tate. Sophia thought Holly should know that while she was away, she and Tate were hanging out. Holly tells her that Tate told her. Sophia is surprised as she didn’t know they were on speaking terms. Holly reveals that she reached out to him and just got back from his place. Sophia asks what they talked about. Holly admits that she told Tate that she wants to get back together.

Brady questions when Tate slept with another girl. Tate reveals it was last night as Sophia stayed over. Brady questions that being Holly’s friend. Tate points out that technically they aren’t friends anymore. Tate notes that he and Holly broke up but he still feels really guilty about this. Brady asks if he feels guilty because he wants to be with Sophia or because he wants to get back with Holly.

Philip asks Vivian why Kate would not be a problem when she despises her. Vivian explains that they talked and she put her away her ill will in exchange for money and power. Philip asks if she cut Kate in on the deal. Vivian responds that she had to in order to get her to do the right thing.

Kate goes to the police station and informs Jada that she’s there to report a crime.

Rafe points out that he’s not seeing Gabi’s signature on the divorce papers. Gabi claims that’s only because the pen ran out of ink, so Rafe tests the pen and sees that’s not true. Rafe says Gabi obviously doesn’t want to go through with the divorce, so he questions why she doesn’t just go talk to Stefan. Gabi admits he’s not the first person to tell her that. Rafe questions who else she’s been confiding in. Their cousin Javi then comes dancing out from the bedroom, surprising Rafe. Rafe greets him and they hug. Rafe says he had no idea that Javi was visiting. Javi is surprised that Gabi didn’t tell him and announces that he’s here to stay and moving in, if that’s okay with Rafe. Gabi says she hasn’t had a chance to tell Rafe yet and explains that last night, Javi showed up unexpectedly and her divorce papers arrived right after, so he took her out for drinks to take her mind off Stefan. Gabi adds that she was going to mention it when they got back but Rafe and Jada were already asleep. Rafe assures that he doesn’t mind as Javi is family. Javi adds that he will be able to pay rent since Gabi offered him a job as her assistant. Rafe says that’s great but tells him not to worry about the rent. Rafe tells Javi that he’s sorry about his mom passing as she had a special place in his heart. Rafe mentions the letter and engagement ring that they got in the mail. Rafe asks if Javi has seen the ring since he’s been looking for it. Javi then reveals that he’s wearing it.

Jada asks what kind of crime Kate would like to report. Kate reveals that she has knowledge of the whereabouts of a fugitive at large and one of Salem’s most notorious criminals being right here in town.

Vivian asks Philip how things went with Xander as she’s sure he’s still furious with him. Philip responds that he will handle Xander but he’s worried about Kate throwing a wrench in to things. Vivian assures that Kate still thinks he is Victor’s heir. Philip hopes she’s right. Vivian complains that Kate gave her a headache and asks Philip to get her an aspirin.

Sophia questions if Holly seriously believes that Tate would just take her back after how she treated him, bringing up how Holly went digging for evidence against Brady who turned out to be innocent. Holly acknowledges her mistake and says that she apologized. Sophia calls it more of a betrayal. Sophia can’t imagine some lame ass apology will just make everything okay. Holly argues that Tate actually seemed pretty cool about the whole thing. Sophia questions what that means and if Tate is taking her back.

Tate tells Brady that when he hooked up with Sophia, he really thought things were over with Holly and thought she might stay in Paris with Nicole so he had no idea that she was going to come home and want to work things out. Brady asks what Tate wants. Tate admits he doesn’t know and talks about being so angry at Holly for what she tried to do to Brady, but her apology seemed so sincere. Tate says if only Holly came home a day earlier. Brady asks if that means he regrets sleeping with Sophia. Tate says he doesn’t because he really likes Sophia but Brady asks if he just likes Holly more.

Javi tells Rafe that he tried on his mom’s engagement ring last night and says he didn’t want to take it off, so he decided to keep it. Rafe reminds Javi that his aunt left it for him. Javi argues that Rafe was just her nephew while he was her son, unless he thinks he should have it just because he’s a macho straight guy while Javi is gay. Rafe says that’s not what he meant and then tells Javi that he can keep it but Javi says Rafe can have it and offers it back for him to try it on. Javi jokes that they can play who wore it better and Gabi can be the judge. Rafe says to forget about it, because he actually wasn’t going to wear the ring but give it to someone.

Kate informs Jada that Vivian Alamain is back, explaining that she was with Philip at the Salem Inn and saw Vivian skulking around the corridor and then slip in to a room about an hour ago. Jada thanks Kate for the intel and quickly exits the station. Kate then calls Philip. Philip answers the call as Vivian is sleeping in the room. Philip tells Kate that he heard she came looking for him. Kate responds that she needs to talk to him now and orders him to meet her at the Pub while not mentioning a word of it to Vivian and then hangs up.

Brady tells Tate that he’s hearing he wants to get back together with Holly. Tate says even if that’s true, he just slept with Sophia last night and questions what kind of guy does that and then just dumps the girl the next day. Brady admits it’s bad and could cause a lot of pain and hurt. Tate asks if Brady is saying he should give Sophia a chance. Brady says he can’t tell him what to do, but he’s not doing Sophia any favors by staying with her because he feels obligated. Brady adds that it’s good that he doesn’t want to hurt her but it’s really going to hurt her if he stays with her while Holly has his heart. Tate wonders if he stays with Sophia, then maybe he’ll start to feel for her the same way he feels for Holly. Brady calls it possible but suggests he think about if that could really happen. Brady says that matters of the heart are rarely rational and adds that he does have some inside information for him. Brady tells Tate that Ava told him that Sophia has strong feelings for him. Tate asks how Ava knows. Brady explains that Sophia works for Ava at the Bistro and confided in her, so he’s in a very complicated situation here. Brady thinks it’s commendable that Tate doesn’t want to hurt anyone, but in this situation it might be unavoidable. Brady advises Tate to just be honest with himself about what he wants and then he will have to be honest with Sophia and Holly.

Sophia questions if Tate is taking Holly back. Holly says not exactly. Sophia says she knew Tate was too smart and would see right through her. Holly points out that he didn’t give her an answer. Sophia remarks that Holly gives stalker vibes by liking a picture of Tate from three years ago while Holly calls it creepy that Sophia monitors his social media. Holly argues that she told Tate it’s a lot to process so he should take time to think it over and that’s how they left it, so she’s sure he’ll get back to her when he’s ready. Sophia asks if Tate didn’t say anything else. Holly asks like what. Sophia states that Holly gave Tate a lot to think about, but there is something else she might want to consider as well. Holly says there is nothing else as she knows in her heart that she wants to be with Tate. Sophia asks what about her since she’s been in to Tate for a long time. Sophia adds that they’ve gotten closer while Holly was off in Paris. Holly acknowledges that in the past, she wasn’t considerate of her feelings for Tate and she’s sorry but she’s not going to step aside so she can make her move on Tate. Sophia tells her that she doesn’t understand but Sophia gets a call from her mom that interrupts them. Holly says she has to get home anyway so she’ll see her around and walks off.

Tate tells Brady that if he finds a way to let Sophia down gently and gets back with Holly, he has to be honest about sleeping with Sophia and wonders if that makes Holly hate him suddenly. Brady says that’s a risk he’ll have to take and points out that it would be better than her finding out another way. Brady adds that they were broken up, so it’s not like Tate cheated on Holly. Tate asks why it feels like he did then. Brady guesses that’s because Holly had his heart the entire time which Tate admits. Tate suggests he’s a massive jerk for sleeping with Sophia, asking how he did that when she was Holly’s best friend. Brady encourages that Tate is a good kid with a good heart and they all make mistakes. Brady assures that he’s behind him, believes in him, and loves him as they hug. Brady then warns Tate if he ever invites a girl over without his permission again, he will be grounded.

Philip meets Kate at the Brady Pub. Kate complains about Philip sneaking in to town again without saying a word to her. Philip says he’s sorry as he got busy but promises that she was the next stop on his list. Kate asks about his other stops and hanging out with her sworn enemy. Kate asks about Philip plotting with Vivian. Philip admits they traveled here together but notes that Vivian doesn’t know he came to see her as she was sound asleep. Kate says that’s good because she needs to talk to him privately as there’s something he doesn’t know. Philip then admits that he knew the whole time that Vivian forged the letter. Philip guesses Kate thinks it’s reprehensible but Kate reveals that she doesn’t. Kate admits that Vivian is right that Philip should be running his father’s company, so she’s grateful that Vivian forged the letter which shocks Philip. Kate adds that now that Vivian has fulfilled her purpose, she needs to go. Philip argues that it was all Vivian’s idea, so he can’t just get rid of her now. Kate then informs him that she already took care of it.

Jada breaks in to the Salem Inn room to catch Vivian sleeping. Jada informs Vivian that she is under arrest.

Javi questions Rafe planning to give away his mother’s ring. Rafe explains that he was thinking of using it to propose to his girlfriend which excites Gabi. Javi calls it a relief and admits it’s very romantic. Gabi hugs Rafe and says she’s so happy for him as she had a feeling that’s what Rafe wanted to do with the ring. Rafe admits he’s been thinking of proposing to Jade ever since coming out of his coma. Javi jokes with him. Rafe states that having a near death experience made him realize a lot of thinks like the fact that he wants to spend the rest of his life with Jada. Gabi asks when he will pop the question. Rafe decides there’s no time like the present.

Tate goes to the Kiriakis Mansion to see Holly, who asks what he’s doing there. Tate responds that he’s been thinking a lot about what she said earlier about them getting back together. Tate admits when she first brought it up, he wasn’t really sure how he felt but after talking to Brady, he has a lot more clarity and an answer for her.

Gabi tells Javi that she can’t believe Rafe is proposing and calls it so exciting. Gabi says she really needed some good news. Javi asks if Gabi is going to spill the tea on Jada or not. Gabi calls Jada gorgeous, smart, and fabulous so he will love her. Javi says that’s good and jokes that he doesn’t want a trashy ho wearing his mother’s ring. Gabi states that Rafe and Jada make such a beautiful couple and Rafe deserves some happiness after three failed marriages. Javi says he heard Rafe was unlucky in love but didn’t realize he had been divorced three times. Gabi declares that Rafe is going to have some company now, because she’s about to tie his record.

Rafe goes to the police station but finds Jada isn’t there, so he hopes she didn’t already go to lunch.

Jada handcuffs Vivian and reads her rights. Vivian questions how she even found her. Jada informs her that a concerned citizen spotted her here. Vivian realizes it was Kate.

Kate informs Philip that she called the police so Jada is probably arresting Vivian as they speak. Philip argues that Kate told Vivian she wasn’t going to say anything. Kate admits she lied and pretended to get all the information she could. Philip admits he had a hard time believing that Kate would ever get along with Vivian. Kate admits she considered it, but realized that it would risk her marriage and everything she worked so hard for to get involved with Vivian. Philip questions if this means Kate will rat him out too.

Tate tells Holly that Brady told him that he needed to be honest with himself about what he wants. Holly asks what he wants. Tate responds that it took him a while to realize it, but what he really wants is to get back together with her. Holly asks if that means he forgives her. Tate says of course he does. They hug as Holly says that makes her so happy and relieved. Tate then tells her that there is something else he needs to tell her. Tate says Brady also told him that he needed to be honest with her so Holly asks what it’s about. Tate informs Holly that when he told her that he was with Sophia the other night, they weren’t just hanging out but they hooked up. Holly questions Tate sleeping with Sophia and declares that she thinks she’s going to be sick as she’s shocked. Tate insists that he wants to be with Holly but he can’t just be with her. Holly complains that it makes no sense and asks why not. Tate explains that he feels like he has to give Sophia a chance since she’s been there for him and they’ve gotten close, so he feels like he has to at least see where their relationship could go. Tate tells Holly that he’s sorry and he wishes things could’ve gone differently but she was gone in Paris. Tate adds that he’s more sorry than she will ever know as he then exits the mansion and Holly breaks down crying.

Javi tells Gabi that he’s still rooting for her and Stefan. Javi adds that she clearly is too since she hasn’t signed the divorce papers and is still wearing her ring. Gabi admits she should probably take it off as she’s been living in denial but she has to face sooner than later that her marriage is over. Javi advises Gabi to talk to Stefan in person to see if they can work things out. Gabi says Rafe said the same. Javi says they would not steer her wrong. Gabi brings up Rafe’s three divorces and jokes about Javi being single forever except for a guy he almost married. Javi repeats that Gabi should go talk to Stefan as it’s obviously what her heart wants and as Rafe said, there’s no time like the present. Gabi agrees to do so and exits.

Philip asks Kate if she’s going to tell Xander that the letter is fake. Kate assures that she will not as she said Philip deserves Titan, but he doesn’t need her or Vivian involved. Philip appreciates her keeping quiet but questions why Vivian won’t blow the whole thing up out of spite. Kate says it would add fraud to her long list of charges, so she will be back in prison while Philip will have control of the whole company to himself.

Vivian demands to speak to a lawyer. Jada says she can do at the police station. Jada then gets a call from Rafe, who asks where she is. Jada informs him that she’s bringing in a perp from the Salem Inn. Rafe asks if she wants to grab a bite when she gets back. Jada says she would love to but she has to book Vivian Alamain first. Rafe is surprised to learn the perp is Vivian. Jada states that she walked right back in to Salem, making her job easier. Rafe congratulates her, noting Vivian as a big fish to reel in, but advises her to be careful and not turn her back on her. Rafe then hears Jada questions what Vivian is doing and a shot is heard in the background.

At the DiMera Mansion, Kristen is on the phone with Dr. Rolf, who tells her that the second half of the serum is ready. Kristen tells him to wait until she gives the word because she doesn’t want Xander to get a drop of it until she sees the DiMera name on the Titan stationary. Kristen declares that if Xander does not come through, Sarah will be in a wheelchair for the rest of her life as Brady then arrives.

Holly shows up at Tate’s door, so Tate invites her in. Tate tells her that he’s sorry for not responding to her text as he just saw it this morning. Holly guesses he was busy then. Tate tells Holly that there’s something he needs to tell her, so she asks what it is. Tate then informs her that he was with Sophia last night.

Sophia walks through the town square while on the phone with her mom. Sophia assures that she will do the laundry and take care of her siblings. Sophia mentions not getting a lot of studying done as she thinks back to being in bed with Tate.

Kate goes to the Salem Inn and calls it the second time that Philip has shown up in Salem without informing her, so she will see how he feels about her just showing up unannounced. Kate then enters the room to find Vivian inside. Kate questions what the hell she is doing in her son’s room. Vivian then calls Philip her son.

Xander goes to the Kiriakis Mansion and tells the portrait of Victor that he hopes Kate talked Philip out of blocking his deal because if Kate doesn’t stop him and Kristen won’t, then he may just have to kill the son of a bitch himself. Philip then arrives behind Xander and questions what their father would think of that. Xander remarks that he doesn’t seem to object. Xander questions what the hell Philip is doing. Philip talks about growing up in the Kiriakis Mansion as he opens the safe. Philip remarks that Victor was grooming him to take over Titan and now Xander is worried that he’s going to take it all away from him. Philip states that it’s right where Victor left it as he removes a gun from the safe. Philip then offers the gun to Xander and says if he really wants to kill him, have at it.

Kristen tells Dr. Rolf that she has to go and hangs up as she greets Brady, calling it a surprise. Brady says he brought a belated Halloween gift for Rachel which Kristen says she will love. Brady asks about Kristen being on the phone with Dr. Rolf. Kristen claims that she was just checking on the serum as they are all praying that Sarah will be able to walk again. Brady calls it a wonderful thing that she’s doing for Sarah, especially when she’s not expecting anything in return which is out of character for her. Brady says he doesn’t mean to offend her by that. Kristen starts to explain so Brady questions if there’s going to be a problem handing the serum to Sarah.

Philip tells Xander to go on and take the gun. Xander warns him not to play games. Philip calls Xander all talk, the opposite of Victor, as he runs around threatening people but lacks the follow through. Xander then takes the gun and aims it at Philip, asking how’s this for follow through.

Kate calls Vivian as delusional as ever since she stole her embryo and carried her son. Kate asks where Philip is but Vivian informs her that he’s not there. Kate says she’s going to look for him then and tells Vivian to stay the hell away from him. Vivian responds that she won’t be doing that because she and Philip are a package.

Ava sits in the town square and calls Stefan, asking where he is since it’s almost lunch time and she hasn’t talked to him since yesterday. Ava says she has some questions about payroll and tells him to call her back ASAP. Sophia approaches and greets Ava. Sophia asks Ava about switching shifts but Ava says she has no one to cover and she needs her tonight. Ava asks if she ruined her plans for the evening. Sophia says she was just going to see if Tate wanted to hang out. Ava asks if things are going well then. Sophia says she could say that. Ava comments on her smile and says it seems things are going very well. Sophia admits that they are and then reveals to Ava that she and Tate slept together last night.

Holly questions Tate being with Sophia last night and then says he doesn’t have to explain as she knows what’s going on with her. Holly says she knew Sophia was trying to move in on him before she left for Paris and she was jealous but they are broken up. Holly adds that when she texted Tate last night and he didn’t respond, she thought he hated her and never wanted to talk to her again. Holly admits she screwed up and made a huge, horrible mistake which she knows now. Holly then asks Tate if he would take her back.

Ava sits Sophia down and says she knows she told her to go for it with Tate, but it seems like it’s all moving really fast and happened all of a sudden. Sophia insists that she wanted this for a long time and it actually happened organically as Tate invited her back to his place to watch a movie. Sophia adds that Tate didn’t plan for it to happen but it just kind of did. Sophia says it started out innocent but they didn’t know they would be alone and then moved to his bedroom. Ava asks Sophia if they used protection which she confirms. Ava asks how Sophia feels now and if she has any regrets. Sophia assures she has none. Ava tells Sophia that she’s glad it went well and she doesn’t mean to rain on her parade, but asks what about Holly.

Tate questions Holly wanting to get back together. Holly says she didn’t mean to blurt it out but she had a lot of time to think about the things she said and did before leaving for Paris and she’s been dying to tell him how much she regrets all the stupid things she did. Holly tells Tate that she really cares about him and she’s really sorry.

Kristen and Brady are interrupted by Rachel running in to greet Brady. Brady gives Rachel her Halloween gift, adding that Marlena gave her raisins instead of candy while he hid some more underneath. Rachel mentions making a special lunch for Kristen and invites Brady to join them which he accepts.

Xander questions Philip thinking he’s afraid to pull the trigger and points out that he did it quite recently as he still has the killer instinct when it comes to protecting his own family. Philip argues that Xander just wants Victor’s estate all to himself. Xander argues that Victor left it to him and Philip’s claim came out of nowhere. Xander declares that if Philip prevents his transfer of Titan to Kristen, preventing Sarah from walking again, then he has a death wish.

Kate questions Vivian saying that she and Philip are a package deal and asks what she is up to. Vivian claims she’s being a good mother by helping Philip claim his Kiriakis birth right. Kate guesses she wants a cut of the proceeds but Vivian claims mothers don’t do that. Kate declares that whatever scheme Vivian has pulled Philip in to is over now. Kate then grabs the room phone and says she’s calling the police.

Sophia reminds Ava that Tate and Holly broke up, admitting that she helped that along the way but she didn’t twist Holly’s arm to make her do the stupid things she did. Sophia adds that she believes Holly to still be in Paris and hopes she stays there. Ava asks what if she doesn’t. Sophia asks what’s with all the questions when she thought Ava wanted her to go for it. Ava says that she did and she’s glad things are going well but worries about Sophia jumping in with both feet. Ava advises Sophia to just protect her heart.

Tate appreciates Holly coming and for what she said. Holly says she meant every word. Tate asks how things went in Paris. Holly says it was kind of crazy but she forgave her mom which Tate says is really great and that he’s really happy for her. Holly adds that she came back and forgave Eric as they had a long talk and Eric told her what happened with Brady. Holly assures Tate that she’s really happy that Brady is free. Holly admits she idolized Eric growing up so when she found out that he was the drunk driver who killed her dad, she totally lost it and transferred some of that anger onto Tate and Brady. Holly believes she convinced herself that if Brady was punished for what she thought he did would bring some justice to her dad. Holly acknowledges that using their relationship the way she did was an awful thing to do. Holly says when she came over and said she wanted to work things out, it wasn’t a total lie because deep down she did and she still does if it’s not too late.

Kristen thanks Brady for staying since it means a lot to Rachel. Brady assures that he won’t make a habit out of unannounced visits, but he hoped they could discuss the visitation schedule which Kristen agrees to do. Rachel then comes back in with Halloween sandwiches and cookies for them. Rachel mentions that Kristen showed her a picture of Brady’s new car and asks when they can go for a ride in it. Brady asks where she wants to go. Rachel says she doesn’t care as long as she’s with him. Brady hugs her and thanks her. Rachel adds that where ever they go, maybe Kristen can come with them too.

Vivian stops Kate from using the room phone to call the police, so Kate says she will just use her own phone. Vivian then tells Kate that she will cut her in as she thinks she can come up with a way to make it beneficial for both of them. Kate says she’s listening. Vivian explains that there’s plenty of money around Titan so that could be used to finance Kate’s soap opera. Vivian asks if Kate wants the best for Philip, for her show and audience, as well as her due.

Xander keeps the gun held on Philip as Philip asks Xander about turning over a new leaf for his wife and daughter. Xander argues that all he cares about is being a good husband and father which is why he’s doing all of this. Philip asks how he’s going to do that from prison if he kills him. Xander says it would be worth it to get Sarah cured. Philip argues that Xander doesn’t know that or what Dr. Rolf is selling. Xander points out that he knows Dr. Rolf has worked miracles before. Xander declares that if the choice is Sarah’s future or Philip’s, it’s a no brainer as Sarah deserves better and to be healthy. Philip responds that if it wasn’t for Xander’s mother, Sarah would be healthy. Philip says he feels bad for Sarah but he doesn’t feel bad for Xander. Philip remarks that Sarah deserves better and Xander doesn’t deserve Titan. Philip declares that Xander isn’t a real Kiriakis and he’ll never consider him a real brother. Philip tells Xander that if he wants to go to prison and abandon his wife and daughter, he can go ahead and give him his best shot. Xander then pulls the trigger but the gun is not loaded. Philip talks about Maggie always hating having a loaded gun in the house, so he took the risk and played the odds. Philip says that’s a real Kiriakis who should be running Titan. Xander guesses that Philip hasn’t changed his mind about the lawsuit then. Xander calls Kate his last hope then, warning that if she can’t change his mind then he really is a dead man.

Kate tells Vivian that she won’t let her rope her in to one of her ridiculous schemes again and she won’t let Philip be either. Vivian responds that she’s afraid it’s too late. Kate argues that Philip is Victor’s son and questions what Vivian brings to the table. Vivian informs her that she provided Philip with the ammunition he needed to claim what’s his which Kate questions. Vivian reveals that it was a letter from Victor, revealing his intent to leave his estate to Philip. Kate asks where Vivian would’ve got a letter like that, unless she forged it. Vivian calls Kate so clever.

Brady questions Rachel wanting Kristen to come on their daddy daughter day. Rachel points out that they are all having fun so she questions why not. Brady thought Rachel liked the way things have been where she lives with Kristen and also has fun with him on their days. Rachel asks if she can’t like both. Rachel asks if Brady doesn’t want to be a happy family with them again.

Tate starts to explain to Holly. Holly says it’s okay as she knows Tate and Sophia are friends and that Sophia hates her guts which she doesn’t blame her for. Holly says she’s not asking Tate to ditch Sophia, but she hopes he doesn’t feel the same about hating her. Tate assure that he doesn’t. Holly says he doesn’t have to say anything right now as she just unloaded a bunch on him now, so she thinks he should take time to process it all. Holly asks Tate to think about forgiving her and maybe starting over.

Sophia tells Ava that she had a long talk with Tate and says that he and Holly broke up because she was a total bitch to him when his father was arrested. Sophia acknowledges that now that Brady is innocent, there’s always a chance that Holly could come crawling back to him. Sophia adds that she told Tate that she wasn’t going to be a consolation prize and that if he wasn’t ready to move on from Holly, she wanted nothing to do with it so Tate promised her that he had moved on. Sophia adds that what makes her more confident is that Tate and Holly never slept together, so now she’s close to Tate in a way that Holly never was and never will be.

Tate tells Holly that he’s really glad she was able to fix things with her mom and that she’s home as he really missed her. Tate says he will think about everything she said. Holly thanks him and decides she will go to let him think. Holly says she’ll see him at school and then exits.

Kristen tells Rachel that they talked about this. Rachel knows they love each other and love her. Brady assures that they love her more than anything in the world. Brady states that he and Kristen care about each other but they don’t want to go back to the hard times where they had fights that scared Rachel. Brady says he just wants to have days like this where they have fun. Brady thanks Rachel for the lunch and hugs her. Brady says he will see her soon to take her on a good ride in his fancy new car as they say goodbye. Brady goes back to Kristen about Sarah but Kristen tells him not to worry about it as Sarah’s going to be fine. Brady then exits the DiMera mansion.

Philip asks Xander what he’s talking about as his mother doesn’t even know he’s in town. Xander reveals that she does now as he just had a nice chat with her and caught her up to speed. Xander mentions that he told Kate that Philip is staying at the Salem Inn, so she’s out looking for him now. Philip screams in frustration and warns Xander that this isn’t over as he storms out of the Kiriakis mansion.

Vivian reminds Kate that if she implicates her in a crime, she implicates Philip. Vivian asks if Kate’s going to ruin this for Philip, warning that he’ll never forgive her. Vivian invites Kate to come back to the dark side and offers a handshake which Kate reluctantly accepts.

Xander looks back to the portrait of Victor and guesses he listened to Maggie about removing the bullets from the gun which he’s sure she would be pleased to know. Xander knows Victor doesn’t want him to kill Philip and he hopes he doesn’t have to, so Kate better persuade him to lay off or he will have no choice.

Philip rushes to his room at the Salem Inn and tells Vivian that they need to get out of town as Kate knows he’s here and worries about Kate finding them. Vivian reveals that Kate already found her and that she had to admit that she forged the letter from Victor. Philip begins to panic and hopes Kate thinks he’s just an innocent victim in all of this and that she has no idea that he knew about the forgery from the beginning. Vivian confirms that Kate has no idea.

Kate goes to the Brady Pub, wondering what Philip has gotten himself in to now.

Rachel tells Kristen that she wishes Brady didn’t have to go. Kristen says she wishes that too, so Rachel asks why she let him. Kristen tells her that grown up relationships can be complicated. Rachel asks if Kristen liked it better when she lived with Brady. Kristen confirms that she definitely did and suggests maybe someday they will live together again and be the family that Rachel wants them to be. Rachel asks her to make it happen as they hug.

Brady goes home where Tate is pacing in the living room. Brady asks if he’s alright. Tate informs him that Holly was just there as she just got back from Paris and came over to apologize and she wants to get back together. Brady guesses from his demeanor that it’s not a good thing. Tate reveals that something happened that Holly doesn’t know about.

Sophia thanks Ava for listening and says her mom means well but she can’t talk to her like this. Sophia jokes that her mom would probably kill her if she confided in her about last night. Ava says she never had a daughter and thanks her for trusting her. Ava says she has to get back to work, so Sophia says she will see her later for the dinner shift. After Ava leaves, Sophia runs in to Holly and says she didn’t know she was back. Holly informs her that she just got back yesterday. Sophia tells Holly that there’s something she should know.

Philip lays in bed reading Victor’s letter. Vivian comes in and questions what he’s doing still in bed on this beautiful day. Philip responds that he was up half the night, reading over Victor’s letter. Vivian tells him that Victor’s been gone a long time and declares she won’t let him ruin his day by ruminating over his father because they have more important things to do.

Xander goes to the DiMera Mansion to meet Kristen. Kristen assumes that he and Philip have come to terms on allowing him to trade Titan for the serum. Kristen asks if Xander got his brother to back off so they can make the deal or not. Xander says he’s afraid not, but he has a better way to make that happen.

Holly sits in the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion and checks her phone but sees Tate has not responded to her text. Holly guesses he doesn’t want to talk, then decides it’s early so maybe he’s still in bed.

Tate and Sophia wake up in bed together in Tate’s room. They greet each other and Sophia says that happened as they smile at one another.

At the hospital, Chanel questions Johnny wanting to start over. Kate arrives and introduces Johnny and Chanel to their new cast member, Joy Wesley, who Kate says will be playing the resident bad girl. Johnny flashes back to Joy bringing him his wedding ring back. Joy then informs Kate that they’ve actually already met. Johnny questions if they have but Joy claims she meant Chanel and says it’s nice to see her again. Chanel says she isn’t surprised that Joy got the role after her audition. Joy asks if Johnny is on the show too. Kate explains that he’s the director while Johnny pretends to be meeting Joy for the first time. Joy jokes with Chanel that on the show, she’s coming to steal her man.

Sophia asks Tate what he’s going to say to his dad or grandparents when they see that she slept over. Tate says Marlena goes to work super early and they must have decided to let him sleep in since no one knocked on the door. Sophia guesses this was good timing then. Tate says it definitely was. Tate assures that when he invited her over, he didn’t expect this to happen. Sophia says she didn’t either but she’s glad it did and asks if he is too.

Sarah joins Holly in the living room and asks about her trip to Paris. Holly says it was intense. Sarah mentions hearing about a whole lot of drama with Chad and the fake Abigail. Sarah calls it devastating for everyone that loved Abigail. Sarah asks Holly how it went with Nicole. Holly says it was okay and they had a good talk as she eventually realized that Nicole and Eric weren’t trying to hurt her by keeping the truth from her about her dad, so she forgave them. Sarah says that makes her so happy. Sarah reminds her that she’s there if she ever needs to talk about anything. Holly thanks her and asks how she’s doing. Holly mentions hearing that Brady didn’t cause her accident. Sarah confirms it was Xander’s mother. Holly calls it crazy and says Xander must be devastated. Sarah tells her that Xander has been doing everything he can to get his hands on the serum which Holly questions.

Vivian tells Philip that they have to do everything they can to stop Xander from handing over Titan to the DiMeras. Philip says he’s been having second thoughts. Vivian hopes he hasn’t decided to let Xander control his birthright. Philip assures that if it were up to him, Xander would be rotting at the bottom of a lake. Philip informs Vivian that his reluctance has nothing to do with Xander, but because of Sarah.

Kristen asks Xander what his better idea is since Philip is committed to blocking them from the deal going through. Xander argues that Victor left Titan to him so Philip’s injunction won’t hold up in court. Kristen questions him relying on the justice system to get what he wants. Xander believes the court would eventually rule in their favor but he knows it could last years and he doesn’t want Sarah to see another of Victoria’s birthdays in a wheelchair. Kristen questions what he suggests they do then. Xander responds that it’s simple and declares that Philip has to die for real.

Tate assures Sophia that he’s really glad about what happened and he has no regrets. Sophia says that makes her so happy and asks if it was okay. Tate says it was and they kiss until Sophia’s phone goes off. Sophia checks her phone and then informs Tate that they have a problem.

Sarah tells Holly about Kristen’s serum that could make her walk again. Holly calls that amazing and asks why Sarah doesn’t seem happy about it. Sarah then explains that Kristen is asking for Xander to hand over Titan in return. Holly guesses Xander didn’t react well to that. Sarah confirms that he didn’t but then he agreed despite her objections. Sarah says that Xander would give anything to help her walk again. Holly questions if Xander is going to hand his family business over to Kristen. Sarah confirms that he was but then his brother showed up.

Vivian asks Philip what Sarah has to do with this. Philip reminds her that Sarah has everything to do with this since she’s the sole reason that Xander is willing to give up Titan to help her walk again. Vivian questions why Xander would give up Titan for a small vial that might not even work.

Kristen questions Xander proposing to kill Philip. Xander says it would solve all of their problems as Kristen would get Titan and he’d get the serum. Xander remarks that Philip may be his brother but he’s brought him nothing but grief. Kristen feels it’s a little drastic and asks if he’s really prepared to murder his brother in cold blood. Xander says of course not, but he’s pretty sure she is.

Chanel and Joy joke about their characters. Chanel asks if Joy wants to run lines. Kate says she actually needs Chanel at the studio to check out some new outfits. Johnny asks if they can wait since he and Chanel were in the middle of something but Kate says she can’t wait since they are on a tight schedule. Kate suggests Johnny show Joy around if he has time. Kate then exits with Chanel. Joy comments to Johnny on this being a weird coincidence.

Sophia informs Tate that her mom called her friend Brianna’s house this morning since she told her she was staying with her last night. Sophia says Brianna covered but she’s afraid it won’t stop her mom, so she has to deal with this. Tate understands and leaves the room while Sophia calls her mom. Tate realizes he left his phone on the living room table and sees Holly’s text.

Sarah explains to Holly that since Philip won’t let Xander give Titan to Kristen, she’s not giving her the serum she needs to walk. Holly calls that really harsh. Sarah says the idea of Xander giving up the entire Titan empire for a serum that may or may not work felt like a bad move to her and given their history with Kristen, she wouldn’t trust her. Holly says she gets it but asks what if the serum did work and she missed her chance to take it. Sarah guesses she would never know. Sarah adds that it’s been a few months and she’s getting used to the wheelchair. Sarah says she has good days and bad days, but she’s grateful for any day with her husband, daughter, and people she cares about like Holly. Sarah talks about trying to stay positive, but right now her biggest problem is worrying about Xander since he is willing to give anything for her to walk again and getting the serum.

Kristen question Xander wanting her to kill Philip. Xander says that’s unless she wants Philip to kill their deal. Kristen asks why he doesn’t do the honor. Xander argues that even the Salem police department would work out that Philip was blocking their deal and they’d be knocking on his door. Kristen argues that it’d be the same for her since she’d have just as much reason as him. Xander suggests calling it payback then since Kristen has asked him to kill people in the past.

Vivian tells Philip that Sarah made her own bed by marrying Xander and argues that Titan belongs to Philip.

Chanel and Kate go to the studio. Kate mentions hearing about what happened at Johnny’s birthday party and she’s sorry it didn’t go well. Chanel confirms that he accused her of having an affair with Alex because he saw Alex having sex with Stephanie but assumed it was her. Kate confirms that she nearly fired Alex and Stephanie because of it, but decided to give them a second chance and she’s hoping Chanel can give Johnny the same.

Joy tells Johnny that this is funny since she didn’t even know he was working on Body and Soul. Johnny says he had no idea she was auditioning and asks why she didn’t mention that when they met. Joy says she didn’t tell anyone since she didn’t want to jinx it. Joy adds that she won’t forget Johnny is married and wasn’t going to say anything in front of his boss and another co-star. Johnny then reveals that Chanel is his wife which shocks Joy, who says she wouldn’t have been so nice to her if she knew she was the one cheating on him. Johnny then informs Joy that it turns out Chanel wasn’t cheating on him and that he just made a mistake.

Chanel questions Kate thinking she should give Johnny a second chance and if that’s because she’s trying to keep drama off the set. Kate says she has a soft spot for Johnny. Chanel brings up Kate being married to Stefano. Kate recalls when Johnny was a kid. Chanel brings up that Johnny called her a cheating slut. Kate knows it’s horrible and she has every reason to be angry about that, but men tend to let their jealousy overwhelm them. Chanel can only imagine how Stefano reacted when jealous. Kate says they’ll leave that for another time. Kate brings up her son Philip, who was insanely jealous about Chloe and any time Chloe spent with Brady led Philip down a hole of delusion where he almost completely lost his sanity and Brady almost lost his freedom. Kate tells Chanel that Johnny let his jealousy get the better of him and then hurt her really badly, but he didn’t go to the crazy extremes that Philip did like he could’ve. Kate asks if Chanel can forgive Johnny and give him a second chance.

Johnny explains to Joy that the secret Chanel was keeping from him was a surprise birthday party and not that she was cheating on him. Johnny adds that he thought it was her and his jealousy got the best of him so he jumped to the wrong conclusion and she never cheated on him. Joy guesses it’s good that he didn’t confront her about it, but Johnny reveals that he actually did and he didn’t let her explain until after he said some horrible things to her. Johnny says he was just begging for forgiveness when she first walked up. Joy guesses if he figured this out sooner, he probably wouldn’t have come back to her hotel room with her.

Philip tells Vivian that it’s not that simple and she knows it. Philip knows Vivian is saying that he would’ve gotten Titan if he didn’t let his obsession with Chloe consume him and if he didn’t let her lead him on until Vivian came to his rescue which Vivian says is all right.

Kristen tells Xander that she’s sorry as she does want Titan but not enough to kill for it, so they are right back where they started. Kristen says he will have to come up with another way to cut Philip off at the knees if he truly wants Sarah to walk again.

Sarah asks if Holly is waiting on a phone call. Holly says she doesn’t need to hear about her Tate drama but Sarah calls it a welcome distraction. Holly explains that when she thought Brady was at fault for Sarah’s accident, she got super upset and was pretty harsh on Brady which led to her and Tate breaking up. Sarah mentions Maggie telling her. Holly tells her that Maggie encouraged her to reach out to Tate yesterday, but he hasn’t gotten back to her yet. Sarah suggests maybe he hadn’t seen the text and asks if she tried calling him. Holly says she went to his house but nobody answered the door. Sarah says maybe he was out but Holly says maybe he just doesn’t want anything to do with her anymore.

Sophia comes out from Tate’s room and tells him that she covered with her mom, but notices that Tate is staring at his phone and asks if something is wrong. Tate tells her everything is cool and offers to get her food but Sophia says she should go so she doesn’t risk any more with her mom. Sophia says she had a really great time last night. Tate says he did too as they kiss and agree to see each other later. Sophia then exits with a smile. Tate pulls out his phone and looks at Holly’s text again.

Sarah encourages Holly not to jump to conclusions since she and Tate were really close so she’s sure Tate will be open to talking and working things out. Holly hopes so and wishes he would text her back. Holly then gets a text from Tate, saying he just got her message which excites her.

Johnny asks Joy if they can forget the other night ever happened. Joy agrees that would be best since they will be working together. Johnny asks if she didn’t tell anyone. Joy confirms that she didn’t, but notes that her mom did find his wedding ring though she didn’t tell her anything about him. Johnny thanks her and appreciates it, saying that his wife cannot find out about this.

Kate knows it’s selfish but she also needs her director and lead actress to get along. Kate talks about the show not even airing yet and already having so much drama, so the last thing she needs is someone else to come in with more problems. Xander then storms in and tells Kate that she needs to tell her idiot son to stop trying to kill his deal, leaving Kate confused.

Vivian tells Philip that if they are going to block this deal, he needs to get dressed. Philip asks her to give him some privacy then. Vivian argues that she carried him in her womb for nine months. Philip asks she never reference that image again as he goes to the bathroom to get dressed.

Kate has no idea what Xander is talking about. Xander questions Philip not coming to her about the letter Victor left for him and staking some bogus claim to Titan. Kate questions Philip being in town. Xander confirms he’s at the Salem Inn. Kate says she can’t believe that. Xander thinks Kate must be involved in the drama since Philip doesn’t have the guts or brains to act in this alone. Kate insists it’s the first she’s hearing of it. Xander doesn’t care if it’s her or someone else pulling Philip’s strings, but tells Kate to get him to back off as he then exits.

Joy tells Johnny not to worry as what happened between them will stay their little secret. Chanel then returns to the hospital. Joy mentions not realizing that Johnny and Chanel were married. Chanel guesses Kate is trying to keep personal relationships quiet. Joy tells Chanel that Johnny really loves her and talked about her the whole time she was gone. Joy thanks Johnny for showing her around and exits. Johnny asks Chanel how her fitting went. Chanel says it went great and she also had a long talk with Kate. Chanel then declares that she has decided to forgive him. Johnny tells her how happy it makes him but Chanel warns that he’s on probation so he better not to do anything else to screw it up.

Tate has a flashback to being with Holly. Holly then shows up at his door, so Tate invites her in. Tate tells her that he’s sorry for not responding to her text as he just saw it this morning. Holly guesses he was busy then. Tate tells Holly that there’s something he needs to tell her.

Kate goes to the Salem Inn and calls it the second time that Philip has shown up in Salem without informing her, so she will see how he feels about her just showing up unannounced. Kate then enters the room to find Vivian inside.

Xander goes to the Kiriakis Mansion and tells the portrait of Victor that he hopes Kate talked Philip out of blocking his deal because if Kate doesn’t stop him and Kristen won’t, then he may just have to kill the son of a bitch, himself. Philip then arrives behind Xander.
