Steffy: Brooke betrayed you yet again. How many times has it been? Why do you put yourself through this? There is no reason, not with mom standing right here. She loves you. You should see this as an opportunity. Mom is back. Make a life with her. Make a life with a family you never should’ve left behind.
Hope: Ridge sho
Liam: Yeah, well, he’s going to be talking to her soon, whether he likes it or not.Dgisvethere. Who knows? My mom could show up to an empty house.
Liam: I don’t know, she seemed pretty confident he would be there.
Hope: Well, he better be because the sooner the two of them work through that, the better.
Brooke: Why aren’t you letting me through? Ridge is my husband. I have every right to.
Thomas: He doesn’t want to see you right now.
Brooke: Did he say that?
Thomas: He didn’t have to. After what you did to him?
[ Brooke sighing ] Yes, brooke. I know all about what you did with deacon.
Brooke: I was drinking, thomas.
Thomas: That’s not an excuse.
Brooke: I know, I know, that’s not an excuse. I love your father. I love the life that we have together.
Thomas: Sure. So why not just throw it away for one drunken night with deacon?
Brooke: It’s not something that I wanted.
Thomas: Sure, it is. Otherwise, why make out with deacon? Why take the first step?
Brooke: I keep asking myself that same question: Why did I start drinking in the first place?
Sheila: I still can’t believe you let ridge let you do this to you.
Deacon: Well, with brooke there I didn’t have much of a choice.
Sheila: So she got to see you as the victim and ridge as the bully aggressor? I suppose that could work.
Deacon: I’m not trying to work anything. I just knew it would hurt her a whole lot less if it hurt me. Actually, I’m not so sure about that now, but that’s why I stopped fighting.
Sheila: Even with all the horrible things that he was saying about you.
Deacon: I mean, you should have heard him. He actually thinks I targeted brooke. Yeah, that I spiked her drink. You know, she picked up that damn bottle all by herself.
Liam: I know it’s hard, but try not to worry. Your mom knows what she’s doing.
Hope: I want to believe that, but I don’t know. It already feels like their marriage is ending. I mean, ridge making assumptions, coming to blows with my dad and my mom drinking again and why–
Liam: Are you about to do that thing where you start blaming yourself? Because if so, don’T. Even if they do split up because of– you know what? They’re not, they’re not going to split up, okay? Your mom is over there. They’re talking it out. They’re not going to let this thing come between them.
Thomas: Does it really matter why you drank, brooke? I don’t think so. I’m not letting you in to see my father.
Brooke: Fine, then he can come out. He’s going to want to talk.
Thomas: Okay.
[ Phone ringing ]
Thomas: Oh, ah yeah. That’s right.
Brooke: You’re the reason why he hasn’t been calling me back?
Thomas: Turn around brooke. It’s time for you to go.
Taylor: Steffy, I appreciate everything that you’ve said. I really do. And I know how much you– you want your father to finally find peace, but… you’re putting too much pressure on him.
Steffy: No, I’m trying to do the opposite. I’m trying to take the pressure away. You get that right?
Taylor: No, but you– do you get that, that your father is going through so much as it is? I–I don’t want any of this to be overwhelming for you. It’s complicated enough.
Steffy: And that right there, mom, is exactly why you are the woman for him. Do you hear her? Do you hear how much she cares? She is willing to put you first. Brooke would never do that. She’s never done that. Dad, please tell me you’ve opened your eyes. Your future is right here. It’s standing right in front of you. Frontline plus is the #1 name in flea and tick protection.
Hope: I hate that ridge thinks that my dad came up with some evil plan to get my mom drunk.
Liam: Uh, yeah– I mean, I kind of get it though. Ridge was already highly suspicious of deacon. And then, the one night– the one night he’s out of town, this stuff goes down? It’s like.
Hope: I know how it looks, liam, but I believe my dad and my mom does too.
Liam: Yeah. Well, that’s kind of the problem. I mean, your mom believes deacon, she’s defending deacon. Ridge can’t handle that and that’s why we’re in this situation.
Hope: Well, it wasn’t just that. My mom relapsed that night. Her judgment was impaired. And I still don’t understand why, after all those years of sobriety, why– why she had to give in to temptation.
Sheila: Of course, brooke drank on her own. Ridge really thinks that– that you caused it somehow?
Deacon: Yeah.
Sheila: What, like you spiked brooke’s drink? And–and how did you pull that off?
Deacon: Who the hell knows? Probably thinks I was sneaking around with a flask, just waiting for my opportunity.
Sheila: Yeah, but ridge is even smart enough to know that–that brooke would taste a difference in her drink if you did something like that.
Deacon: Exactly. This guy is so blinded by his hatred for me– he doesn’t want to hear the truth. He doesn’t know who I am. I would never do something like that to brooke. I mean, come on? Spike an alcoholic’s drink? Who would do something that cruel?
Sheila: Who…indeed?
Brooke: I can’t believe you’re doing this! Taking his phone!
Thomas: He needs time, brooke. And if you’re not willing to give him that–
Brooke: He needs time with me, time with his wife, time to work through this–
Thomas: Not happening.
Brooke: Do you really think you can keep me away from my husband?
Thomas: I have to keep you away from your husband because guess what? You always do this. You always hurt him and then you have tears and your excuses at the ready. Save it for the next guy.
Brooke: The next guy?
Thomas: Yes, brooke, because he’s in there. He’s with a family that cares about him with a woman who actually cares about him. My mother is his future. It’s time for you to accept that.
Steffy: I’ll get out of your way and let you two talk.
Taylor: No, you don’t have to, honey.
Steffy: But I do, mom. This could be the most important conversation you’ll ever have. And mom, please be honest with dad. Tell him how you really feel. Because it matters. And dad, listen.
Ridge: Yes. Please listen to mom. This is the woman who you deserve. You know that. You always have.
Taylor: Doesn’t matter how old they are, kids just want their parents together?
Ridge: You know, I– I remember how I felt when my parents found their way back to each other. And not just me. Thorne. Felicia, kristen, they were… were beaming like little kids. I’m sure steffy and thomas would feel the same.
Taylor: There’s no pressure here, ridge. From any of us, okay? I just want what’s best for you. And you’re the only one that knows what that is.

Sheila: I can’t see ridge and brooke lasting much longer. I mean, how many times does he have to walk out on her before he finally gives up? I don’t know. I think it could be the end of an era.
Deacon: Anything’s possible.
Sheila: And then what? You finally get your big chance with brooke. This fairy tale reconciliation?
Deacon: I’ll be there for her. Whatever she needs.
Sheila: I bet you will be. And if for some reason she turns you down, I can always give you something that she never could.
Deacon: Ah– watch it, please.
Sheila: Oh, I’ll be watching, all right.
Brooke: You really think your mother is ridge’s future?
Thomas: Is it that hard to imagine? Someone who actually values him, someone who respects him enough to not go off and sleep with the guy he hates most in the world?
Brooke: Okay, fine. I’m a horrible person and I don’t deserve ridge. I never have and I never will. Do you know how many years I’ve heard that, thomas? Before you were even born. But it doesn’t matter to ridge or to me because we know that we belong together, no matter how many hurdles are–
Thomas: Sleeping with deacon is not a hurdle!
Brooke: I really need to talk to my husband. Just get out of my way.
Thomas: No.
Brooke: You think you can stop me?
Thomas: What’re you gonna do? Gonna push me off the cliff again? So far as I remember, that didn’t score too many points for you last time.
Brooke: I am never giving up on ridge. Never.
Ridge: I know there’s no pressure from you. I know that. And I appreciate it. I’m very thankful for it. But what I could really use is some insight from someone that I trust very much. Steffy told me what she thought about my relationship with brooke and I… I would like to have your honest opinion.
Taylor: Brooke isn’t worthy of you. I don’t think she ever has been.
Ridge: Wow. But why– why would you say that?
Taylor: There are so many reasons. But the main one is… her pattern of turning to other men. Um, “following her heart,” as–as she likes to say, which is incredibly disrespectful of you and your marriage. She doesn’t seem to have much regard for your feelings. Or most people’s really. She does what she wants when she wants. And she’s learned that if she does get caught, all she has to do is cry. Beg for forgiveness. Claims she takes full responsibility and everything will just go back to normal like it never happened, so.
Ridge: I asked for honesty and you gave it to me.
Taylor: I can– I can stop.
Ridge: I don’t want you to stop. It’s important that I hear it. It’s just not easy.
Taylor: The truth is never easy when you have to hear it about someone you really want to believe in. And for you, that’s brooke. You want so bad to believe that her patterns have changed, but ridge, after all these years… it hasn’T. I don’t think it ever will. I–I think it’s just who she is, it’s ingrained. She’s the woman who will… turn to other men in a moment of weakness and not give it a second thought. I mean, if I were you…
Ridge: You would what?
Taylor: No, I’m not telling you what to do. This is your life. She’s your destiny, right? But when your destiny causes you so much pain, betrayal and confusion over and over again… maybe it’s time to check yourself and ask why you think you deserve that path? I think you deserve so much better.

Steffy: You’re still here? Are you looking for something?
Thomas: Someone. Making sure she doesn’t come back. Brooke came looking for dad.
Steffy: She was here?
Thomas: Yeah, I told her that he wasn’t available.
Steffy: Good for you. That’s not going to stall her for long. I’m sure she sent a thousand texts.
Thomas: And she’s called a million times. But dad isn’t currently taking phone calls, so.
Steffy: Nicely done.
Thomas: Yeah, we can’t let her get to him because otherwise she’s going to start crying and begging and he needs time to figure out what he wants.
Steffy: Yeah. Well, he’s inside with mom right now, hopefully realizing what life could be like with her.
Liam: I mean, you could just call her.
Hope: No, I don’t want to interrupt her, especially if she’s making progress with ridge.
[ Door opening ] Mom, what happened? Were you able to talk to him?
Brooke: No, I didn’t get a chance to.
Liam: What– what he wasn’t there?
Brooke: He was there, all right. But thomas wouldn’t let me.
Hope: What?
Brooke: I couldn’t even get to the front door. Ridge has no idea that I was trying to call him. Thomas has his phone. Thomas and steffy were trying to keep me away from ridge to give their mother a chance to plead her case! I feel like my marriage is just slipping between my fingers, now that ridge is stuck in that house with taylor!
Ridge: Thank you for your honesty.
Taylor: You’d do the same for me, right?
Ridge: Of course I would.
Taylor: I’ll always be honest with you, ridge. Even when it’s difficult.
Ridge: You always have been.
Taylor: How are you feelin’?
Ridge: I don’t know. It’d be easier to tell you how I’m not feeling because my– my head is spinning and everything I thought was right is not. And it just keeps happening over and over again.
Taylor: Yeah, I know that feeling. When you love someone so much and they they keep hurting you over and over. It feels like your world is falling apart.
Ridge: I heard from steffy, I heard from thomas, I know what they want. They want what they always wanted. They want me to come home and I thought home… was with brooke. And I’m not– I’m not saying that what we had wasn’t– wasn’t amazing. It was… until sheila–
Taylor: You moved on. No regrets, right?
Ridge: But you didn’T.
Taylor: Never. You were my husband. I came back to a life that wasn’t there anymore, so.
Ridge: What if the kids are right? What if I should be here? Someone who’s always been honest with me, who’s never betrayed me. Someone who’s always been there for me.
Taylor: Stop. I– I cannot go through this again. What– what are you saying, ridge?
Ridge: I want to come home, if you’ll have me.
