Deacon: Okay, I don’t– I just don’t believe it. Come on. Hope? Really? She’s got the hots for Finn?

Brooke: The hots?

Deacon: You know what I mean. Come on, this is Hope we’re talking about, right? And Finn… is a happily married guy.

Brooke: Why do you think I’m so worried? [ Deacon sighs ]

Deacon: Oh, my God. Okay, maybe– maybe Hope just admires him, you know? I mean, who wouldn’t? Look, you know, I mean, the guy’s kind of like a superhero, you know? He’s got the body and the jaw.

Brooke: Deacon. My God, she admitted it to me. It’s eating her up inside. This isn’t something she’s proud of.

Deacon: You’re serious. Hope’s got the hots for Steffy’s husband.

[ Steffy sighing ]

Steffy: And now Hope’s involving herself. I mean, that girl’s just getting on my nerves. She is telling me that I can’t say anything to my husband about staying away from Sheila. It’s ridiculous and it’s extremely frustrating.

Finn: Hey, come here. Listen. Honey, don’t worry about Hope, okay? She’s not going to be a problem for us. [ Steffy sighs ]

Hope: Oh, I thought Ridge had called a meeting.

Steffy: Yeah, he did.

Hope: Well, do you know why?

Steffy: No, but the way things are going, I’m prepared for anything.

Hope: Okay, well, if it’s going to be a while, I can just come back.

Steffy: Uh, no, Hope, actually, I want to talk to you. Alone. It’s about my husband.

Hope: Uh, Steffy, I really don’t think that Finn is a good topic for us.

Steffy: I agree. This is why it should be the last time it comes up. Finn and I had a conversation about you, and you need to know what was said.

Hope: And why is that?

Steffy: So you understand what the boundaries are. Look, I can’t tell you how to feel about your father or Sheila. If you want to put your family in harm’s way, that’s up to you. What I do not accept is you trying to encourage my husband to feel the exact same way. He assured me that’s not going to happen, but given your attitude, you need to keep your distance from Finn. [ Hope exhales ]

Ridge: All right, what’s going on here?

Deacon: Just trying to wrap my head around the fact that Hope has feelings for Steffy’s husband.

Brooke: You have to keep this to yourself.

Deacon: I’m not going to go blabbing my kid’s business all over town.

Brooke: Okay, and I told you, there’s nothing going on with them yet. She’s just starting to have feelings for…

Both: Finn.

Deacon: Yeah.

Brooke: Right. I’m telling you this because you’re her father, and I know that she comes here and hangs out with you and with Finn.

Deacon: You want me to keep an eye on them? Mm-hmm?

Brooke: Yes, and trust me, if it were up to Steffy, she would never allow Finn in here ever again. I just need you to be aware. And yes, keep your eye out. Just be discreet.

Deacon: All right.

Brooke: Don’t tell anybody that she has an attraction for him. Nobody at all.

Hope: Steffy, don’t you think you’re overreacting just a little bit?

Steffy: Because I’m questioning your judgment?

Hope: My father’s relationship with Sheila isn’t a reason for Finn to have to stay away from me.

Steffy: Your acceptance of it is.

Hope: Well, I don’t exactly think that is fair to me or to Finn.

Steffy: Okay, Dad, do you see this? Do you see what’s going on here? This is what I’m concerned about, and why are you telling me about my husband?

Hope: I’m not doing that.

Steffy: Yes, you are, and you’ve been doing it a lot lately.

Ridge: All right, Hope, I know you mean well, but my daughter has explained why Finn can’t be around his birth mother.

Steffy: Yeah, and if you disagree with that, then you should not be around my husband. He understands that. He understands the gravity of this, and he always knows to put his family first.

Carter: Sorry, sorry, I was on a call. Maybe you need another minute.

Ridge: No, no. Everything that had to be said has been said. Let’s get back to the business at hand.

Steffy” Okay, what’s on the agenda? I didn’t even know we had this.

Hope: Is this about Hope for the Future? Because you did give my team–

Ridge: No, it’s not.

Steffy: Why didn’t we do this this morning? I mean, I have so many things to do.

Carter: I’m sure your father will move things along, right?

Ridge: We’re waiting for one more person.

Steffy: Who?

Ridge: Brooke.

Brooke: Hope is really struggling with this. We have to handle it carefully.

Deacon: Give me a little credit, will you? I know I haven’t been at this parent game as long as you have, but I care about Hope just as much.

Brooke: Of course you do. It’s just really complicated. It involves Ridge and Steffy and the company. It could affect so much.

Deacon: Hope is my main concern.

Brooke: Okay, well then, you should know everything that’s going on with her. She feels that Steffy doesn’t appreciate her husband enough and that she’s been really controlling of Finn, especially where Sheila’s concerned.

Deacon: She’s demanding that, you know, Finn stays away from Sheila.

Brooke: Yes.

Deacon: Okay, I mean, I’m just going to come out and say it. I see where Hope’s coming from.

Brooke: Okay, Deacon, that’s not really helpful.

Deacon: Okay, but I mean, Sheila is Finn’s birth mother. I mean, no amount of whining and griping is going to change that.

Brooke: Steffy is worried about her safety and her family’s safety.

Deacon: I told her a million times, she’s got nothing to worry about. All right, whatever. Okay, all right. Yeah, all I want to say is I’m just glad that Hope is keeping an open mind.

Brooke: Well, Hope has concerns about Sheila, too.

Deacon: Okay, but at least she’s giving her a chance, unlike Steffy.

Brooke: Okay, look, I– I don’t want to debate this with you and I got to get back to the office. I don’t want to regret telling you this.

Deacon: Hey, um, thank you for telling me.

Brooke: Sure. Yeah. I don’t want you to say anything to anybody, though.

Deacon: I know. Okay.

Brooke: I think I got through to her. I mean, I pray that… Hope listened to me and that she stops this and she puts an end to her feelings for Steffy’s husband.

Deacon: Hey, thank you guys so much for coming. It’s great to see you again. [ phone rings ] Hey, Hollis. [ stammers ] No, no, no, it’s okay. It’s okay. All right, don’t worry. Yeah, I’ll check the temperatures on the fridge. Yes, dear. Okay. All right. Thanks. I wonder where Sheila is. Huh. I promise, from this day forward, you shall not walk alone.

Sheila: I promise, from this day forward, you shall not walk alone.

Sheila: Hey, there’s my handsome husband.

Deacon: Hey, you know, I was just thinking about you. Yeah, I was thinking about our wedding day.

Sheil

Deacon: Mine, too. Where you been?

Sheila: I just– I just completely lost track of time. So, nowhere really. What, did I miss out on something?

Deacon: No, I– you know, just about to go check the temperatures in the fridge. Unless you need me for something first?

Sheila: Daddy, I’ve got a list about a mile long.

Deacon: Well, then, I’ll make sure I’m available for later.

Sheila: Oh. [ Sheila chuckling ] You are not going to take me upstairs this very moment? Well, clearly the honeymoon’s already over.

Deacon: Come on.

Sheila: Seriously, I mean, what’s– what’s going on?

Deacon: What do you mean?

Sheila: It seems like you’ve got something on your mind.

Deacon: Just, you know, I mean, work. You know, Hollis called out. I’m gonna go check the refrigerator’s temperatures.

Sheila: Work. I guess it’s just me, then.

Deacon: You?

Sheila: I– I can’t stop thinking about what Finn said earlier.

Deacon: I mean, it was nice of him to stop by.

Sheila: Oh, to tell me that he was never going to do that again.

Deacon: Ah, don’t believe him. No one could stay away from my pizza.

Sheila: Deacon, it’s frustrating. Because I know my son cares about me. I– I know the connection that we have. He wants to know me. I– I think I could be a big part of his life and my grandson’s, if it weren’t for Steffy.

Ridge: Brooke’ll be here in a moment.

Steffy: Well, hopefully soon. I got a lot going on, Dad.

Hope: Well, since we are all here, we could discuss my proposal for a showing.

Steffy: Hope, my father already insisted on your line getting another quarter, all right? I don’t think it’s financially responsible to be throwing money at a fashion show. Am I right?

Carter: Everyone’s pulling back on production. We’re putting the spotlight back on designs.

Hope: Okay, but Hope for the Future is still one of the most prominent lines here. There should be some flexibility with the budget.

Ridge: Okay. Carter’s gonna look at it.

Steffy: Okay, what is taking so long?

Ridge: Can you just be patient for a second? She’ll be here.

Steffy: I– I’m just really confused right now. We already had a meeting this morning regarding Brooke and Brooke’s bedroom line. Like, I’m not going to be any more enthusiastic about it. Is she going to come in and make another pitch? You already know how I feel.

Ridge: Why would you say that? She doesn’t have to pitch.

Carter: Brooke’s brought a lot of success to this company, Steffy.

Brooke: Oh, sorry.

Ridge: Hey.

Brooke: I had to run out. Lost track of time.

Hope: Is everything all right?

Brooke: Hi. Yeah, just somebody I had to see. Go ahead. I’ll catch up.

Ridge: No, no, no, it’s all right. I think it’s, uh, it’s time to change gears. You’re probably wondering why I called two meetings in one day. Well, this is important. It has to do with the future of Forrester Creations.

Sheila: You know, it’s just, it’s so painful, knowing that my son could one day accept me and Steffy just keeps pulling him away from me.

Deacon: She’s his wife, babe. I mean, he has to take her feelings into account.

Sheila: No. No, he doesn’t think the same way Steffy does. He never has. He just can’t say anything to her or she’s gonna go ballistic. Look, there’s no reasoning with Steffy, Deacon. No, she is so closed off and unforgiving.

Deacon: Come on, you can’t get caught up in this again.

Sheila: It’s just so infuriating. She refuses to even acknowledge that I may have changed. And I have. You’ve seen it.

Deacon: Yes, I have. A hundred percent.

Sheila: And Finn has seen it too. Even– even Hope. Hope was willing to show me some understanding as your wife, as Finn’s mother.

Deacon: I think my kid’s a little ways off from joining the Sheila Carter fan club.

Sheila: Wait, wait, wait. Finn and Hope showed up at our wedding. They were there to support us. Why can’t Steffy do that?

Deacon: It’s not gonna happen if you try and muscle your way into their family.

Sheila: I know, I know, I know, I know. I… I was dreaming. I was dreaming, to think that I could… ever win Steffy over. I gotta tell you, I– I can’t help but wonder what my relationship would be like with my son if he were with a woman that… was just willing, you know, willing to give me a chance.

Hope: You would like to discuss the future of this company?

Ridge: Yes. And I’m realizing now that that sounded a little ominous.

Steffy: Is this a new issue or something we already discussed?

Ridge: It’s something that I think needs to be re-evaluated.

Brooke: Not Hope’s line.

Ridge: No, not– not Hope’s line at all. No, me. I need to re-evaluate me and who I am in this company. I’m sorry, I can’t take all these meetings anymore. I can’t sit around this table all day and answer phone calls. I– I need to focus on design. Especially now with Thomas and my dad out of the picture. For now.

Steffy: So, what are you saying, Dad?

Ridge: I don’t know. I love working with you and I’m so proud of what we did together and I can’t wait to see how you lead this company forward.

Hope: Ridge, are you saying that you’re stepping down as CEO?

Ridge: No. If anything, I’m stepping up. Um, but I will be here if you need me for anything. I’m– I’m here.

Steffy: Yeah, good, because we still need your leadership.

Ridge: Look around this table. Everyone is committed to making this company the best it can possibly be and that includes me. But now my commitment has to be on the creative side of things. If I don’t design anything, if we don’t have anything to sell, we don’t have a company. I know you. I know what you’re thinking right now. You think that anything I’m shedding, you can pick up and you can run with it. And you probably could. But let’s– let’s be honest with each other. You know what you have to do. You know… what’s on you professionally, personally, and I don’t want to put you in a position where you might drown. I don’t need to do that. Not if we have someone here that can help us. Someone that has worked with us at Forrester for years. All right, I took the liberty of calling our biggest investors, our biggest buyers. I talked to International. And I spoke to them about what we want to do with the bedroom line. And they were, all of them, were very, very excited. But not just about the line, but about… about the person behind the line. The icon behind the line.

Brooke: Ah, Ridge, you didn’t have to do that.

Ridge: This is not– No, I know I didn’t have to do it. But I’m glad I did because it reminded me how important you are to this company. And how missed you are. And how happy everybody would be if you just said yes.

Steffy: Say yes to what?

Ridge: I can’t let this go. I want Brooke to be on the executive team.

Steffy: What?

Ridge: Anything I’m leaving on the table, she can handle.

Steffy: Wait, Dad, you can’t– you can’t be serious. You want Brooke to be our co-CEO?

Ridge: This is not about titles. I don’t care about it. Brooke doesn’t care about it.

Hope: Well, I, for one, think it is a wonderful idea.

Carter: The clientele would love it.

Steffy: Okay, okay. Hold on. Hold on. Let’s– let’s give it a minute, okay? Did you think I would be okay with this? Why wouldn’t you come to me in private? Dad, we’re a team. Brooke and I are… Definitely aren’t. She’s not gonna listen to me. I’m not gonna listen to her. I am not running our family business, Forrester Creations, with Brooke Logan.
