Brooke: I didn’t sign them because I refuse to believe that this is happening.
Ridge: It isn’t easy for me either.
Brooke: Okay, well, then just take those papers and throw them in the fireplace or rip them to shreds. Just do something. Don’t make me–
Ridge: I thought this was the best way to handle it.
Brooke: Really? You thought the best way to handle it was have carter come over and drop off the annulment papers? Come on, ridge, can we just talk about this? Whatever this is.
Ridge: I don’t have anything else to say.
Brooke: I need you to tell me why this is happening.
Steffy: Can’t believe dad’s actually doing it.
Thomas: Yeah, brooke needs to accept that dad’s done with her.
Steffy: I wonder what pushed him over the edge.
Thomas: Something happened.
Steffy: I don’t know, maybe he’s just over all the heartache, betrayal.
Thomas: That’s– that’s why this doesn’t bother me so much, you know. It’s just brooke’s finally done hurting dad, and he can just move forward and be happy, fulfilled, and content with our mother, and we can finally stop talking about brooke.
Steffy: Yeah, I’m just really over it. I text mom, I told her to come here. Wait ’til she finds out what happened.
Thomas: You know, seeing– seeing everyone so happy in my life, it makes it all worth it.
Liam: I kind of like to avoid thomas while I’m here.
Hope: Oh well, you are in luck because he and steffy are in a meeting.

Liam: I get it. Well, I’m so proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished. Hell, I’m even proud to be married to you. Even if I wish thomas weren’t a key part of that.
Liam: I’m not trying to get into it, but you at least understand where I’m coming from when it comes to thomas, right?
Hope: What? Stop.
Stop. Yeah, I completely understand where you’re coming from when it comes to thomas, so don’t worry. I know I need to be cautious with him.
Liam: Cool, that’s–
Katie: Hope, thank god I’ve been looking for you.
Hope: Katie, hi.
Katie: Have you heard?
Hope: No, what?

Katie: Ridge had annulment papers served to your mother.
Steffy: I am just so happy for mom. She’s wanted this forever. Where is she?
Thomas: Uh, have you heard of a thing called traffic?
Steffy: I’m just really excited for her. I want her to be here.
Thomas: Yeah, I know.
Taylor: Okay. What’s going on?
Thomas: Mom, hey.
Taylor: I got your text. All I saw was get here now, it’s important, all caps.
Steffy: It kinda is.
Thomas: Yeah.
Taylor: Okay, well, I am here now. So, what’s going on? Come on, I had to reschedule a patient.
Thomas: Well, I think you’re gonna want the rest of the day off to celebrate after you hear this incredible news.
Steffy: Well, it’s incredible for you and dad not so much for brooke.
Taylor: What are you talking about?
Brooke: You want to just wipe away all of the memories that we’ve ever had?
Ridge: That’s impossible. I remember every moment I spent with you.
Brooke: Well, it’s not the end, ridge, it’s not. We were just settling in. And yes, I know that we’ve both done things and we’ve forgiven each other for that. We’ve moved–
Ridge: The damage has been done, you see that!

Liam: No, it’s weird. I mean, bird’s eye view, it doesn’t make any sense.
Katie: Well, imagine how brooke feels.
Hope: I– I don’t know. Do you think it might be the situation with douglas? Or maybe because she has concerns about thomas that this influenced his decision.
Liam: Yeah, there’s no way that helped. And, you know, behind the scenes, thomas has been milking that.
Katie: It’s almost like he has to choose between one family and the other.
Liam: Which like, as if you couldn’t have both those things after 30 years of this, like…
Hope: I really thought they were back on track. I thought they were working things out, but then ridge goes to aspen and everything goes to hell. I mean, why? What happened?
Steffy: Yeah, yeah, a lot has changed.
Taylor: Okay. What is it? I’m here, tell me.
Thomas: Wait, you seriously don’t know.
Taylor: No. Oh, my god, baby, you’re pregnant.

Ridge: I don’t want this. I don’t want any of this.

Ridge: I can’t do that.

Ridge: Logan, I can’t do that.
Brooke: We have a great foundation. We have everything we need. I just– I need you to communicate with me. So, what is it? Is it bill?
Ridge: No, it’s not bill.
Brooke: Well, if it’s not bill, is it deacon?
Ridge: No, not bill or deacon, neither one of those clowns.
Brooke: Well, then what is it? Ridge, come on, please, I can’t read your mind. I need you to tell me what–
Ridge: All I wanted from you was some humanity, some kindness, some forgiveness! That’S… that’s my boy. You just… you gave up on, you gave up on my boy, my flesh and blood in the worst way.
Brooke: Thomas? This about thomas?
Ridge: I can’t battle with you anymore. Who says you have to spend more on skincare
Katie: What is so different now? What caused such a big wave that ridge just couldn’t take it anymore?
Hope: Seriously? I mean, where is this coming from? It’s not like they had some big blowout fight.
Katie: They– they– they were pretty happy. I mean, they had obstacles to overcome, sure but…
Hope: Well, they’ve overcome even worse.
Katie: Everything went south when ridge followed steffy and taylor to aspen.
Liam: Yes, super abruptly, by the way. Dude just hopped on a plane and turned everyone’s lives upside down.
Hope: Yeah, well, steffy was lobbying really hard for ridge to leave my mom.
Liam: I– no, I’m not absolving steffy of responsibility, but thomas was just as vocal, and come on, if I were a betting man, I’d say he was doing a little bit more than just gently coaxing them back together.
Katie: Okay but, what difference does it make? Ridge is a grown man who can make his own choices. Is he so impressionable that he listens to whatever his kids and his ex-wife have to say, and he doesn’t listen to his own heart?
Liam: Maybe both things can be true at once. I mean, brooke’s been pretty damn adamant that– that thomas is using douglas in our whole custody thing to drive a wedge between her and ridge. And if that’s true, the guy’s succeeded. Which, I– see, this is why I’m always saying that thomas is always up to no good.
Taylor: Wow. So– so he– he asked for an annulment from brooke?
Thomas: He told us himself. Carter did all the paperwork.
Steffy: Yeah, dad is invalidating his marriage to brooke. Which means he wants to be with you, mom. And start a life with you immediately.
Taylor: Yes. Yes, that is the plan. So, I mean, yeah…
Thomas: But he didn’t tell you he was doing it?
Taylor: No. Not– not that he was doing it today. I don’t know. I can just– I can just tell that something is weighing on him. Maybe it’s this decision.
Steffy: Of course, dad feels guilty about dumping brooke, but this is the best thing that could happen for you and dad.
Taylor: Yeah, look, don’t get me wrong. I am– I am happy, I really am, but look, I want your dad to be happy too.
Thomas: But that’s where you come in. You do make him happy.
Taylor: Yes, and listen, I am– I am so glad that he followed through with this. He really did it. And it’s great. It’s great for all of us. But don’t forget that brooke is very important to your father. Very important. And, you know, there’s some conflicting feelings going on with him, as usual. So…
Thomas: Okay, but brooke is gone and we should be popping champagne and celebrating. Brooke is finally out of our lives for good.
Brooke: Thomas? What about thomas?
Ridge: If it’s okay with you, I don’t want to play this game anymore. You know what the answer is?
Brooke: No, I don’T. I have expressed my concerns about some of the problems that he’s had in the past and whether or not he can parent douglas full-time. But that’s no reason to get an annulment. Ridge, I know you love your son unconditionally–
Ridge: Yes, I love my son. What about you? You couldn’t find even a small place in your heart. Not at all.
Brooke: I wish I could feel about thomas the way you do. And I really wish I could believe that he’s changed for the good, the way you and taylor think he has. But the fact is, I think that he is responsible for some of the issues that we’ve had in our marriage. And I know you’re not gonna like this, ridge, but he is being manipulative and not entirely truthful.
Ridge: Did you say truth? Okay, let’s be truthful. Is there anything you want to tell me about thomas?

Hope: So, are you implying that thomas had something to do with ridge and my mom being apart?
Liam: Well, do I think that thomas is 100% responsible? No. I am pretty familiar with ridge and brooke and their history and their marriage. But you know would I presume to know exactly what ended it? I– no. You know.
Hope: Yeah, I wish we had more clarity.
Liam: Yeah, I know it’s a mystery, but that is why I can’t help shaking the feeling that thomas is popping a bottle of champagne somewhere.
Hope: Liam.
Liam: Uh, look, okay. All I’m saying is, every time in the past when things have gone wrong and nobody can figure out why, it’s thomas. Why should this time be any different?
Taylor: You know, your dad has been talking a lot about our future together and– and what he wants it to look like. And he’s saying all the right things. But I’m– I’m still not convinced that, I don’t know, something’s gonna come along and– and make him change his mind and he’s going to do the old switcheroo again, you know?
Thomas: Hey, there’s no chance of that happening now.
Taylor: Oh, thank you, sweetheart. And I am happy, I really am, it’s just… I just, I still can’t help but wonder why your dad did this today.
Steffy: Well, whatever the reason, I’m just excited for you.
Taylor: Okay. I’m excited, too.
Brooke: What does thomas have to do with this?
Ridge: He’s my son.
Brooke: Okay… but what about us, ridge? What about our marriage and our relationship? You are my best friend. You’re my partner. You’re the love of my life. And I know you feel that same way about me.
Ridge: I love you so much. I will always love you.
Brooke: Okay, well, you don’t have to go through with this. You don’t have to be with taylor. It’s not gonna be the same. There’s always gonna be something missing.
Ridge: I thought it was… I thought it was gonna be you and me forever. But I can’t do this.
Brooke: But why? Why not? I mean, you didn’t even tell me what this is all about. Okay. Yeah, uh… well, you have clearly made your decision. You want to be with taylor. I’m not gonna stand in your way.
[ Brooke sighing ] Migraine hits hard, so u hit back with ubrelvy cbs. Cbs. Cbs. Cbs. I think I have an answer. The reason that ridge and I are ending our marriage is
Ridge: So we’re on, right? You and me on the tennis court, after you finish your math problems?
Douglas: Sure. You’re up for it? Last time I ran you all over the court.
