Deacon: No, no, no. The… this can’t– this can’t be. It can’t be. It can’t, there’s no way. It can’t be.
[ Deacon gasping ]
Sheila: Mama’s back.
Deacon: Sheila. Sheila!
[ Sheila cackling ]
[ Birds cawing ]
Finn: Hey.
Steffy: Hi. So, how was it?
Finn: Sun was out. The swell was sick. It was not a bad wave for my first day back on board–
Steffy: Aww. — Since, uh… anyway. I loved every second of it. I wish you’d come out with me next time.
Steffy: Yeah, well, talk to your son. He’s the reason I couldn’t join.
Finn: Hmm. Little guy’s still mad?
Steffy: Mm-hmm. But be forewarned. He did say before I put him down that he had a big day planned for the two of you.
Finn: Oh. Huh.
Steffy: But I did tell him that mommy gets dibs first.
Finn: And what did he say to that?
Steffy: He said change his diaper.
[ Both laughing ]
Finn: I got to say, as much as I miss the waves, it is nowhere near as much as I miss my gorgeous, talented, sexy wife.
Quinn: Are you having as much trouble as I am?
Carter: More.
Quinn: More? Well, I’m trying to concentrate, but I’m finding that it’S… getting really hard.
Carter: Me, too.
Quinn: Maybe we should do something about it before it drives us both crazy.
Carter: Oh, I’m already at the crazy mark.
Quinn: Oh, you are?
Carter: Mm-hmm.
Quinn: So, uh, which one of us is going to bridge the divide?
Carter: Me.
Quinn: You? Why does it get to be you?
Carter: Because I’m on the edge.
Quinn: Well, stop talking and get over here.
[ Both moaning ]
Carter: I’ve been wanting to do that all morning.
Quinn: Oh, yeah?
Carter: Mm-hmm. I’ve been wanting to do this all morning.
[ Ridge sighing ]
Ridge: Could’ve sworn this was my office.
[ Quinn clearing throat ]
Steffy: You should get out of this, uh, wetsuit.
Finn: You’re offering help?
Steffy: The surfer vibe you’re giving off is…
Finn: Hmm.
Steffy: You’ve come so far. You’re surfing again. You’re back at the hospital. It really feels that like our lives are finally back to where they were before that horrible night in the alley.
Finn: I was never going to give up on our life together. You’re– you’re what kept me going, all that time I was away. Your love kept me alive. It’s what keeps me alive.
Quinn: Is there a problem, ridge?
Ridge: Oh, I don’t know. I think it’s me. I just– never going to get used to my best friend making out with my ex-stepmother.
Carter: It was just a kiss.
Quinn: Hey, just a kiss?
Carter: It was a hell of a kiss.
Quinn: It was a hell of a–
Ridge: Can we stop doing that, please? Please, please. Find someone’s back seat. Please don’t do this here.
Quinn: Oh. ‘Cause you never do.
Ridge: It’s my house.
Carter: Okay. Okay. Let’s move it right along. There’s some things I want to go over with you– well, you and steffy if she’s coming in–
Ridge: She’s not coming in, she’s going to spend some time with finn and her family.
Carter: Okay. All right. Well, I– I thought she might have been coming in today.
Zende: Sorry to interrupt, is it true? I was out of town. I just heard about sheila. Killed by a bear? That’s freaking nuts.
Deacon: You’re supposed to be dead.
Sheila: Well, I’m not. Surprise.
Deacon: Wait, the– the cops said that you’re dead, you– you got attacked by a bear.
Sheila: The only thing that attacked me was you.
[ Laughing ] Here’s to real flavors…
Finn: I could just… I could hold you like this forever and never let go.
Steffy: I want you to hold me like this forever and never let me go. But kelly and hayes won’t allow it. Soon, hayes is going to be up from his nap, and kelly is going to be home from a friend’s house and it’s going to be complete kiddo chaos again.
Finn: Yeah. Yes, it will. But I love it. And our family time might be what I missed most while I was gone. Except this. This right here. This is what matters most.
Steffy: Oh. I feel the same way. And I know I’ve said this so many times, but having you back, our family together, it is– it’s everything. A sense of joy and relief. Not only from the kids, but from me, too. Just to know that we have a lifetime of memories ahead of us to make. Memories that are because of you. My incredibly brave husband. You stopped those bullets from sheila to save me.
Ridge: Oh, zende, not just any toe, her middle toe. See, sanchez knew it wasn’t gonna be enough to just show us some– the– the things that she left behind. Some blood on– on a phone or whatever. We needed something more conclusive.
Carter: Yeah. I see a torn off toe did that.
Zende: Does that mean– was that– the only thing left of dear departed sheila? Yep.
Ridge: Boom. Oh, uh, I have a picture of it. You want to see it?
Quinn: What? No.
Ridge: Hang on. Don’t judge me. Here.
[ All groaning ]
Ridge: You know why I have this? It’s a constant reminder that she’s gone, she’s not gonna hurt any of my eople ever again.
[ Sheila laughing ]
Sheila: Wow. You know, last night was incredible. But to leave you speechless? I guess I am that good.
Deacon: Everyone thinks you’re dead.
Sheila: Yeah, well, that was the plan. This whole getting mauled by a bear ruse was so that I could come back to L.A. To see you.
Deacon: You’re insane.
Sheila: Insanely good between the sheets.
Carter: I’m guessing that means police have closed the case, huh?
Ridge: Yeah, that’s what it means, carter.
Quinn: Well, sheila did her absolute worst, and she paid the price with her life.
Carter: How’s finn? I’m guessing he’s relieved, but still, sheila gave birth to him.
Quinn: Which is probably the only good thing she’s ever done in her entire life.
Ridge: She’d always say how much she loved that boy, right? And then she almost killed him.
Zende: And steffy.
Ridge: And steffy. If steffy had died, I would’ve hunted that woman down for the rest of her days.
Quinn: Well, luckily, you didn’t have to do that ’cause a bear beat you to it. And now steffy and finn are safe.
Ridge: And more in love than I’ve ever seen them.
Steffy: You really are my hero. Jumping in front of a gun, taking a bullet that was meant for me.
Finn: I’ll do it again in a heartbeat.
Steffy: One very close call is more than enough. Thank you. You are the most amazing husband and father and doctor. I will never, ever, ever stop thanking god for bringing you back to us. To me.
Sheila: What’s wrong? I’m not used to you being at a loss for words.
Deacon: It’s just that you look pretty damn good for someone who’s dead.
Sheila: Oh, I think I proved I’m anything but, over and over and over again last night. But if you still need more proof…
Deacon: Stop, just– just stop.
[ Sheila chuckling ]
Sheila: Now, all of a sudden, you’re scared of me? Oh, I can work with that.
Deacon: How?
Sheila: Well, I think that we can come up with–
Deacon: No, no, no, no. I mean, how did you– how did you do it? How did you convince everyone that you’re dead?
Sheila: When it comes to faking my own death, I take it very seriously. Yeah. I may have had to rip out some of my hair, tear my clothes, and a pint of my blood, but I had to make it look like a bear really did maul me.
[ Deacon scoffing ]
[ Sheila laughing ] Yeah, I– I knew that– that none of that was going to be enough, especially not for ridge and the forresters. I knew that they would need more, so I– I gave it to them. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Right? You remember the– the nursery rhyme? This little piggy went to market, this little–
Deacon: Yeah, yeah, yeah, roast beef and all that.
Sheila: Well, this little piggy had to go bye-bye.
Deacon: You did it yourself, you cut off your own toe?
[ Breath catching ]
[ Sighing ] (Vo) red lobster’s seafood summerfest is fire!
Steffy: You know what?
Finn: What?
Steffy: I don’t want to talk about that awful night anymore. About sheila. She tried to destroy our lives. She tried to– she tried to take you away from me.
Finn: Honey, I would never let that happen. One way or another, I was going to find my way back to you. Because my life without you isn’t a life. It isn’t anything without you. We are going to raise our beautiful family. We’re going to make amazing memories. And we’re going to grow old together, hand in hand. More and more love each day for the rest of our lives.
Steffy: That’s what sheila never understood. The power of our love.
[ Steffy sighing ] She’s never going to hurt us again. Never.
Quinn: I know what it’s like, that feeling. Being more in love than ever.
Ridge: And what is that, exactly? Is that a dig at my dad?
Quinn: No. This has nothing to do with eric. I love your father. I will always love your father. But what carter and I have is… special.
Ridge: I wasn’t asking. I don’t– I’ve seen enough already. Can we just leave it alone?
Quinn: No. No. We are not hiding it from anyone ever again.
Ridge: I wish you would.
Carter: Can we get– can we get back to work?
Ridge: I would love that.
Carter: But one more thing. Um, look, I know how worried you were for steffy and the kids when you thought the worst had happened. But then the miracle of miracles, man. Finn is back with his loving wife, with the kids he adores. I know how happy you are, just as we are. I’m happy that sheila will never terrorize them or anyone ever again. It must be an overwhelming sense of relief for you.
Ridge: Overwhelming sense of relief, that’s exactly what it is. Well put. I’m relieved. Ding dong, sheila is dead.
Quinn: Hmm.
Deacon: You seriously cut off your own toe?
[ Deacon exhaling ]
Sheila: You know, it was the greatest physical pain I’ve ever experienced, but it– it was necessary and a small price to pay for my freedom.
Deacon: Your freedom?
Sheila: They were never going to stop looking for me, deacon. They were going to hunt me down like an animal until they caught me. And I– I am not– I’m not going to live that way anymore.
Deacon: This is living? Slicing and dicing body parts.
Sheila: They pushed me to my limits. Would you just stop looking at me like that? I’m– I’m not crazy anymore.
Deacon: Not crazy? You cut off your own toe.
Sheila: And I would do it again. You know what it’s like living behind bars like a caged animal and what it does to you. And I’m never going to do that again. I am never going back to prison.
Deacon: I just can’t even believe you’re here. I– I can’t believe I slept with you.
Sheila: Well, you know what? You did a lot more than sleep with me, big boy. Admit it. You had the time of your life.
Deacon: I didn’t know it was you.
Sheila: Well, now you do. I think that means that we can–
Deacon: Stop. Stop. Sheila, why did you come here? You know I’m on parole. I mean, if anybody thought that I was– I was hanging out with you, I’d go right back to the slammer.
Sheila: Then don’t tell anyone. They all think I’m dead, remember? And you can’t send me away because I have nowhere else to go. And there is no one that understands me the way that you do.
[ Knocking on door ]
Jordan: Hey, deacon,
it’s jordan, your parole
officer. Open up.
Sheila: Oh, my god. I need you– you can’t turn me in. Please don’T. Don’t give me up, please.
Jordan: Deacon, open up now.
