Gaines: I apologize. I’m a friend of ashland’S.
Nick: Yeah? Then why aren’t you at the wedding? What are you doing in my room?
Gaines: I arrived late, and i didn’t want to interrupt the ceremony.
Nick: That doesn’t answer my question. And you better start talking fast, or you’re gonna have a problem.
Nick: Start talking now.
Gaines: Okay, just relax.
Nick: This doesn’t have to get ugly, but it’s up to you.
Gaines: Look, I think you’re overreacting, and I’d appreciate you taking a step back.
Nick: Not till I get some answers. If you’re such a good friend of ashland’s, why are you acting so nervous?
Gaines: I don’t have to tell u a thing.
Nick: Nah, you’re not going anywhere.
[ Door slams ]
Marriage is an ultimate union between two hearts and souls. Two lives joined together. The kind of love that lasts forever can be elusive, so, when you find it, you have to cherish it, protect it, and hold onto it with your whole heart. That is not to say that marriage is a fairy tale. It is not. It takes work. Certainly there will be the obstacles along the way. But if you make the decision to re-devote yourself to each other, every day, then you will both become stronger individually and as a couple. And your marriage will stand the test of time. Ashland: I have had some unexpected and significant obstacles in the last year. And you have helped me put them all into perspective. You have given me renewed strength. You have inspired me to cope. You have helped me fight and to strive to be a better human being and a better man. You have seen me at my best and my utter worst. And despite knowing all of my flaws, you stand by me. You accept me for who I am. And you have stood by me through all these difficult times. And that is a gift that I am not sure if I can ever repay. But I will damn well try with everything I have. I vow to give you all of my love and support that I have in my being. I am going to give you more than I have ever given anyone. And I promise, above all else… absolute honesty going forward.
Nick: I hate to break it to you, but I know all of ashland’s secrets.
Gaines: Oh, not this one. I promise you. Not too many people know this one. My father worked for camilla rhodes. You recognize that name, don’t you?
Nick: Yeah. That was ashland’s mentor, the woman who gave him the start in the business.
Gaines: Oh, she gave him a lot more than that, although not willingly, all thanks to a forged will after the poor old lady died.
Nick: I’m listening.
Ashland: I had decades-old walls that you helped me to knock down — because I knew my heart was safe in your hands. Because I knew I found in you my partner and soul mate. You have opened me up to a whole new way of living and shown me the power of true forgiveness.
Phyllis: Wow. It’s interesting. She forgives this guy, but she won’t forgive nick.
Ashland: You’ve brought strength to my weaknesses. Forgiveness to my past. And love to my heart. In return, I vow to bring you the world — and all the joy that we can squeeze out of it in the time we have left.

Victoria: I’m sure that everyone here can see why ashland is such a huge success. Because he is a tough act to follow. But I agree with him entirely. I see myself in a different way, too. I see myself as stronger because of you. And you’ve also helped me to see that my capacity for love is greater than I ever expected. The connection that you and i have is — it’s unlike anything. You’ve helped me to grow as a person and to come into my own in so many different ways and on so many different levels. First, we — we merged our companies, but now we’re merging our lives and our families.
[ Sighs ] And I really — I couldn’t feel more complete than I do right now. I’ve made my fair share of mistakes in the past. But I feel like all of them have brought me right here to you. And I’ve learned a lot about myself and a lot about life. Nobody’s perfect, but that doesn’t mean that we’re incapable of change or unworthy of love. So, if it’s right and if it’s meant to be, I believe that love transcends all.
Gaines: When camilla rhodes passed away, she didn’t leave ashland a dime. So he, along with my father unfortunately, forged a letter superseding her will, leaving her entire estate to ashland.
Nick: And I’m just supposed to take your word for this?
Gaines: Oh, I have proof. But you can also just ask your father.
Nick: My dad knows about this?
Gaines: Yeah. And when victor found out, he pressured me to stay silent, but billy abbott had other plans. So he flew me here to expose ashland before the ceremony could take place.
Nick: Did you confront ashland or my sister?
Gaines: Not yet.
Nick: Why not?
Gaines: ‘Cause I don’t trust billy abbott. I don’t know what he intends to do with that information. So I decided to take matters into my own hands, and I have been hiding out here, waiting for the most opportune moment to make my move. But you interrupted me before that moment came and now the marriage is under way and nothing can stop it, unless you cooperate with me and act fast to stop your sister from marrying that ruthless, dangerous man.
Victoria: I know that you want to give me credit for inspiring you to fight your illness, but I’m the one who is honored and grateful to be standing by your side, fighting it alongside of you. “In sickness and in health.” I honestly don’t think that those words could have a greater meaning to anyone but — but the meaning that the hold for us. I wish I could promise you forever. I really do. But what I can promise you is that we are going to spend every precious second that we have together.
Gaines: Time is running out. That minister is about to pronounce your sister legally wed to that slimeball. So? What are you doing?
Nick: You stay put.

Lily: It’s beautiful.

Leslie: Ooh, now, that’s what I call a wedding. The beautiful couple, the decor, the ambiance.
Ashland: [ Chuckles ]
Victor: And you were simply marvelous today.

Billy: I come in peace. I just want to say congratulations.

Billy: Contrary to many people’s assumptions, all i want, all I’ve ever wanted, is for you to be happy.
Victoria: Well, I guess you got your wish because I am. I’m happier than I’ve ever been.
Billy: Well, you’ve got a lot of guests to greet, and I could use a drink. It is open bar, isn’t it?
Ashland: Enjoy.
[ Sighs ]
Sally: Well, again, nicely done, mr…reverend…sir.
Pastor is fine.
Sally: Do you do a lot of weddings?
Eh, my fair share.
Sally: Let me ask you this.St out of all the couples that you’ve married, how many do you actually think stay together?

Sally: [ Chuckles ] You know what? I see my friend over there, so if you’ll excuse me.

Lily: My god, victoria’s dress is gorgeous. And it fits her like a glove.
Elena: The craftsmanship is unbelievable.
Lily: I know. It’s, like, regal. It’s fresh. It’s forward-thinking. We have to find out who the designer is.
Elena: Why? Are you gonna be needing a wedding dress soon?
Lily: Oh, my god, no.
[ Laughs ] Wait. Are you?
Elena: No.
[ Both laugh ]
Lily: Well, whoever it is, we have to find out who they are ’cause I would offer them any amount of money to make me a dress as gorgeous as victoria’S.
Elena: Yeah.
Phyllis: So, you know, I just wanted to pass along nick’s best wishes. Um, I felt I should do that for him since he didn’t feel really welcome to come to your wedding.
Victoria: And yet you still felt perfectly welcome to show up and offer your opinion.
Phyllis: [ Exhales sharply ]
Victoria: Hi, mom.
Nikki: Hi, darling.
Victoria: If I didn’t say so before, you look absolutely beautiful.

Victoria: And I really appreciate you keeping me calm earlier.

Noah: Really? I think she’s kind of mediocre.
Tessa: What?
Noah: I’m kidding. I just get the feeling you’re somewhere else right now. You okay?

Phyllis: Yeah. I mean, I couldn’t bite my tongue. I had to do that for nick.
Jack: I know you’re disappointed that he felt he couldn’t attend his own sister’s wedding.
Phyllis: Listen, you know and I know it’s going to be a long, bumpy road for a reconciliation between victoria and nick. You know that.
[ Sighs ] Nick is hurting. I don’t understand why he doesn’t want me to help.
Jack: And standing on the sidelines has never been your strong suit.
Phyllis: Yeah, I know. I just don’t get it. I don’t — I don’t know why he’s taking issue with me helping him.
Jack: Well, maybe there’s another way of looking at it. Maybe you’ve gotten things blown out of proportion. Look, he’s been to back-to-back family destination weddings, on top of all of that. That’s a lot.
Phyllis: You have a point.
Lily: I saw the look on your face when victoria was saying her vows.
Billy: [ Chuckles ] I’m capable of a sentimental streak.
Lily: Mm. Well, you joke, but I could tell that the ceremony wasn’t very easy for you.
Billy: [ Sighs ] I am happy for victoria. I just told her so.
Lily: You know, you said coming here was gonna be your way of showing that you’re over her, and I am 100% confident in what we have, but I’m also confident that if I weren’t here, you probably would have checked that text that gaines sent you.
Billy: I haven’t even looked at it yet.
Lily: Do you want to?
Billy: I want to know what happened to him, where he is and what he wants. Nothing about this trip went the way I expected…or wanted. Or maybe it went exactly the way it was meant to. Either way, I feel like the universe is trying to tell me something.
Lily: Don’t give a sleazy guy a duffel bag full of cash?
Billy: [ Chuckles ] Yep. That is true. I’ve been thinking about why i have been so determined to make sure that victoria knows about ashland’s past. I mean, of course I want to protect her. She’s the mother of my children. But I guess the truth is, there’s a part of me that wanted to prove that ashland isn’t a better man than I am. And the reason why I was so upset when I found out that she already knew the truth and she was still choosing to marry him was because I was hoping that she would judge him as harshly as I felt judged at times, which is silly because she forgave me for many, many things. And she held me accountable, as she should.
Lily: That’s very insightful of you.
Billy: [ Chuckles ]
Lily: Thank you for sharing with me.
Billy: The most important thing I felt in that whole time was just how much that I have moved on. I love you. I love what we have. And, yes, that little moment of self-awareness was not cheap. There was a lot of money in that duffel bag.
Lily: Oh, it’s okay.
Billy: Mm-hmm.
Billy: You spent that much gambling, and you learned nothing.
Billy: That is very true.
Lily: [ Chuckles ]
Billy: And if I ever see gaines again, the last thing I’m gonna do is thank him.
Nick: Hey. Where’s security?
Adam: Uh, they’re on their way. How much do you know about all this?
Adam: Listen. Listen. We can get into that later, alright? I think we should check on our friend inside first. He’s a slippery one.
Nick: Yeah, I agree. Given what he’s trying to pull off, seems a little too smug for me.
Gaines: Ah. You gonna let me out in time to catch the bouquet? Don’t settle for products that give you a sort-of white smile. you know, I am in awe of the[ Cellphone thuds ]

Phyllis: [ Sighs ]
[ Light laughter, indistinct conversations ]
Summer: [ Laughs ] You know, I am in awe of the wedding that we just attended. And we still have the reception to go.
Kyle: Well, our wedding was a little more low-key, but just as special.
Summer: I agree. But I think we may be a little bit biased.
Kyle: No doubt.
Summer: Yeah.
Kyle: I mean, this venue is fantastic, which is giving me ideas.
Summer: Mm?
Kyle: Maybe we should renew our vows here.
Summer: Oh. Okay. Uh, love the idea.
Kyle: Mm-hmm.
Summer: I love it, um, but we just got married, so isn’t it, like, a little early to renew our vows?
Kyle: No way! With a wife like you, I could do it every single day.
Summer: Mm.
[ Sighs ] Sally’s over there all alone. No surprise. Did she really think she was gonna get into my family’s good graces by showing up as adam’s plus one?
Kyle: Sally doesn’t always make the best decisions.
Summer: You know, I almost feel sorry for her. Almost. Almost.
Nikki: Now that things have calmed down a little bit, I want to hear more about the mystery of the missing wedding dress. Is it true that sally spectra had the audacity to steal your dress and substitute it with her own design at the last minute?
Victoria: Apparently so.
Nikki: [ Sighs ] “Audacity” is an understatement.
Victoria: Well, I know it took some nerve, but she worked really hard on the dress, and the truth is I’m wearing it because I preferred it to the other one.
Nikki: Well, you know what, sweetheart? You made the right choice. You look stunning.
Summer: Oh, um, yes, I agree. That dress is amazing, just like literally everything else today. Hey, by the way, which one of lauren’s designers came up with it?
Victoria: Actually, it was designed by sally spectra.
Summer: What?
Victor: May I have a moment alone with the bride?
Nikki: Oh, yes, your timing is perfect. Come on, summer.
Summer: Mm-hmm.
Nikki: I’ll tell you all about it.
Victor: [ Breathes deeply ] That was a beautiful ceremony, you know.
Victoria: Thank you, daddy. This was one of the best days of my entire life.
[ Chuckles ]
Victor: I’m so proud of you. I love you so much. I’m so happy for you.
Victoria: Thank you. I love you, too.
Jack: I know we’ve had our rough patches, both personally and in business, but I wish you the very best on your new marriage. May it be long and happy.
Ashland: Thank you, jack. I plan on making sure that that’s the case.
Jack: I think you’d be surprised at how many people in genoa city are pulling for you now.
Ashland: I appreciate that. It’s very kind.
Kyle: How’s the groom holding up?
Ashland: You know, I’m doing alright. Thank you for asking. And I also want to thank you for taking such good care of harrison. He seems extremely happy. It’s a testament to you. And as I get stronger, which i am very determined to keep on doing, I hope you keep the parental channels this open and easy.
Kyle: You have my word on that.
Ashland: Thank you. If you gentlemen will excuse me, I need to have a word with victor. I want to thank you for making sure this wedding ceremony went off today without a hitch.
Victor: You consider this your official welcome to the newman family.
Ashland: Thank you, sir. I got to admit — I was sweating it a little bit, thinking that gaines might show up and disrupt things, but I guess he had other ideas.
Victor: I take care of things.
Nick: Where the hell is security?
Adam: Why is he still smiling like that even though his plans have been ruined?
Gaines: You know I can hear you. And — I don’t know — maybe weddings just bring out the best in me.
Nick: [ Sighs ] Why is security not here yet?
Adam: Well, I didn’t call them in the first place.
Nick: Why not?
Adam: Because I made a judgment call, alright? We need to keep this situation as quiet and controlled as possible.
Nick: What does that mean? Hi. So you’re the scientist here.
Victoria: Sally?
Sally: Oh, you look stunning.
[ Sighs ] I — I know you’re probably still furious with me. The question is, how furious? If you could let me know on, like, a scale of 1 to 10.
Victoria: I can’t lie to you. The dress was a huge success. I nearly went with the one that I brought, but I’m — I’m really glad that I wore yours.
Sally: That makes me so happy, I can’t even tell you.
Victoria: Let’s just get something straight, though. I don’t agree with your methods. But in the end, I wore the gown that was perfect for this incredibly special occasion.
Sally: I know that I stepped over a line. I was just so determined. I believed in myself, and i really believed that I created the most beautiful dress for you.
Victoria: Well, I guess that there’s just one thing left to say. Thank you.
Nick: I should have known you were involved in this, obviously pulling all the strings.
Gaines: Well, not all the strings.
Adam: Hey, how many times do we have to tell you? Be quiet.
Victor: Mr. Gaines will talk to anyone who will listen. Obviously, he doesn’t know what’s good for him. Right? Now, thankfully you didn’t disturb the ceremony. But you’re still a threat to victoria and her company. And I will not allow that to happen.
Lily: Oh, I know that look. You’re reading the message that gaines sent you, right? I actually want to know what it says, so show it to me.
Billy: Gaines just offered us the scoop of the year. He sent a video of himself detailing all of ashland’s crimes, including the evidence.
Gaines: This is the letter camilla rhodes wrote to ashland locke explaining why she didn’t put him in her will. I’m gonna read it out loud so that you can hear, in her words, firsthand, why she didn’t leave him a penny of her estate.
Lily: Wow. That is huge.
Billy: [ Sighs ] If we don’t publish it within the hour, he’s gonna send it out globally.
Lily: I mean, this is all anyone would need to take locke down. So, what do we do?
[ Indistinct conversation ]

Chloe: I knew this was going to come up sooner or later. I was just hoping for later.
Lauren: You owe me an explanation — and now.
Phyllis: I don’t know. I can’t put my finger on it. It’s just sort of added tension between us. It’s gonna go forward, it’s gonna work out, or everything is gonna fall apart.
