Steffy: Babe, how are you doing with all of this?
Finn: I’m– I’m all right.
Steffy: Mm-hm.
Finn: It’s a lot to process, knowing that sheila’s alive, but I’m going to do whatever it takes to protect the people I love.
Steffy: I know.
Finn: Sheila won’t be free much longer. She made a big mistake. She should’ve stayed undercover or left town immediately after escaping prison.
Hope: Oh, sorry to interrupt. Um. Did you ever hear what happened with our parents or?
Steffy: No. I’m guessing you haven’t either?
Hope: Nothing.
Steffy: I’m dying to know what’s going on.
Hope: I feel the same.
Taylor: I can’t believe we did this.
Brooke: I can’t believe we did it. Oh, and the look on ridge’s face? Oh, gosh. He couldn’t believe we did it either.
Taylor: Wow.
[ Brooke sighing ] Yeah.
Brooke: Are you sorry?
Taylor: I am.
Brooke: You are?
Taylor: That we didn’t do this 30 years ago.
[ Both laughing ]
Brooke: And what better way to celebrate than with this cake.
Taylor: Oh, my gosh. Here, let me help you.
Brooke: This gorgeous cake.
Taylor: Look at it. It’s so pretty. After all these years, we finally did it.
Brooke: We did.
Taylor: Mm-hm.
Brooke: We kissed ridge goodbye. And that’s a kiss we can agree on.
Taylor: Yes.
Bill: Why’re you looking at me like that?
Liam: Nothing. Uh, it’s just a little weird to see you primping. Is that a diffuser?
Bill: Yeah, sure is. Smells nice, right? I’m doing this for katie, liam, all right? She loves this stuff. I want her to feel totally comfortable when she comes over and ideally, she’s gonna stay for the rest of her life.
Liam: Are you expecting katie?
Bill: She agreed to come by for a talk. And I’m hopeful that this is finally the night that I convince my katie to come home.
[ Carter groaning ]
Carter: Today turned out to be a longer day than I expected.
[ Carter and katie laughing ] But I’m not complaining. I got to spend more time with you.
Katie: I was just thinking the same thing.
Carter: Let’s keep it going. Have dinner with me.
Katie: I would love to, but bill called and I agreed to see him.
Liam: Uh, I’m kinda surprised katie agreed to come over.
Bill: Yeah, well, that’s why I’m encouraged. I mean, she could’ve just blow me off, but instead she agreed to come. I’m taking that as a positive sign.
Liam: Yeah. I don’t know.
Bill: I do. After tonight, things are gonna be very different for katie and me.
Carter: So, you’re going to see bill.
Katie: Yeah.
Carter: I have to admit that I’m quite surprised, katie. You know what he wants. He’s gonna pressure you to take him back. Why put yourself through that again?
Katie: He just doesn’t seem like himself. I’m worried about him.
Steffy: Charlie said that my dad was with both of our moms. That has to mean that he’s made a decision.
Hope: Okay, but where is everybody and why haven’t we heard from anyone?
Steffy: I don’t know. This is so weird.
Charlie: Hi. Um, sorry to interrupt. I just wanted everybody to know that there is zero chance of sheila carter breaching this building. Why? Because I have my top security on this and I have eyes in the back of my head. See?
Steffy: Ch– charlie, what exactly happened?
Hope: Yeah, did ridge leave here with my mom?
Steffy: Or mine?
Brooke: Oh, this is sparkling water for you, my darling.
Taylor: Ooh, the hard stuff.
Brooke: Did you ever imagine in a million years that you and I could get to this moment at the same time?
Taylor: Never in a million years. I can’t believe this. I mean, after– after all this time, and– and ridge just waffling back between me and you and– it just became a way of life.
Brooke: I know. It’s horrible. It went on so long that we came to accept it. You and I, we took our power back and it feels incredible.
[ Both laughing ]
Taylor: Yes, it does. It is incredible. Cheers.
Brooke: Cheers.
Taylor: You know, I never wanted to be your enemy, brooke.
[ Taylor laughing ] I’m steve.
Steffy: Well, tell us charlie. Did my father leave with my mother?
Hope: Or mine?
Charlie: Y– you know I– I– I may have exaggerated just a little bit about having eyes in the back of my head. I really don’T. So, I don’t know which of the lovely ladies ridge left with.
Steffy: Why not?
Charlie: Because I didn’t see brooke or taylor or ridge leave the building. But, I do have camera footage, if you’d like to see it.
Hope: No, I– I don’t really think that’s necessary, right?
Steffy: Maybe we should text them?
Hope: Yes.
Steffy: Good idea. Let’s do that.
Hope: Yup.
Steffy: All right.
Hope: My mom is at home.
Finn: What’s going on?
Steffy: Whoa, this is so weird.
Finn: What?
Hope: What?
Steffy: My mom’s at brooke’s too.
Hope: This can’t be good.
Steffy: No.
Hope: We should get over there.
Steffy: We should go.
Hope: Yeah.
Steffy: Let’s go. Together?
Hope: Now.
Steffy: Yup. Thanks, charlie.
Charlie: Glad I could help.
Steffy: Yeah.
Carter: So, what’s got you so worried about bill all of a sudden?
Katie: He just doesn’t sound like himself.
Carter: And it’s on you to fix him?
Katie: No, no. I– I’ve been through every bill mood there is, you know. The highs, the lows, the in-betweens. I just– I’ve just never heard him sound so… vulnerable.
Bill: I’m telling you, liam. Katie and I are on the brink of a new beginning. I’m not saying I don’t have a lot of damage control ahead of me, but I’m willing to do whatever it takes and I think katie realizes that. I just want her to give me another chance.
Taylor: You know, I never wanted to be your life long enemy, brooke. ‘Cause you know why? You’re a bad ass. You.
Brooke: Me?
Taylor: Yes, you. You are. You’re– you’re so creative. You left a mark on the fashion industry, which is huge, and you’re really smart. And the hottest chemist I have ever seen.
Brooke: Oh.
Taylor: You know the best part though? You love your family. You’re a good mom. I could see how ridge was swept away.
Brooke: Well, don’t underestimate yourself, taylor. I have respect for you too. What you’ve chosen to do with your life. How you get up every single morning determined to help people who are struggling. You are a healer and that is incredible.
Taylor: You know, this is the nicest we have ever been to each other.
Brooke: We haven’t had many chances to be nice.
Taylor: Because we’ve been fighting over a stupid man.
Brooke: I mean why? We’re parents. We’re grandparents.
Taylor: Oh, god. How did we do this? How did we let this go on for so long?
Brooke: This is our opportunity to show the world that we can be strong and capable on our own.
Taylor: And that women should never bash each other, especially for a man. We should lift each other up.
Brooke: Exactly.
Brooke and taylor: Yes.
[ Brooke sighing ]
Brooke: Let’s eat cake.
Taylor: Yes! Let’s eat cake.
Brooke: Let’s do it!
Taylor: Can we use your mail opener to cut it?
Brooke: Oh, sure. Of course.
Taylor: You know what? I– I– I want us to make a vow to each other, right here, right now, okay? We will never fight over ridge again.
Brooke: Vow taken.
[ Taylor laughing ]
Taylor: I mean, look, I know that we both played our parts in all of this, but god, the way that ridge just like ate up the attention from both of us for so long.
Brooke: I know! And that was wrong, what he did. He left me, he went to you, he didn’t tell me why, he didn’t tell you why.
Taylor: No. No, and then he asked me to marry him and he basically left me at the altar again! Hm.
Brooke: I’m sorry you had to go through that.
Taylor: Yeah. And I’m sorry that you had to go to through everything you went through too and… you know what I have to say about it all?
Brooke: What?
Taylor: Let’s eat cake.
[ Both laughing ]
Brooke: Yes! Let’s do it!
Taylor: Okay, this looks really good. Okay. All right. You just– you took the big piece.
Hope: Mom, no, no! Put it down.
Steffy: Put the cake down. Not this again.
Brooke: No, no.
Taylor: It’s not–
Brooke: We are celebrating.
Taylor: It’s not what it looks like. Yes, we are.
Hope: Celebrating?
Steffy: The two of you?
Taylor: Mm-hm.
Hope: I– I– I don’t understand.
Steffy: Wait. Weren’t you guys with dad? What happened?
Hope: Did he make his choice?
Brooke: He didn’t choose.
Brooke and taylor: We did.
Taylor: Yes.
Brooke and taylor: Cheers.
Taylor: This is so good. This cough.
[Sfx: Coughs]
Liam: I do miss the old spencer family gatherings. You and katie, me and wyatt, will.
Bill: Yeah. Had some good times here, didn’t we? And the good news is they’re not over, just on pause. After tonight, we’re gonna put those spencer family gatherings right back on the calendar.
Liam: Yeah, yeah, yeah and I– and I know that’s what you want. It’s just, uh, general reminder, katie’s gotta want it too.
Bill: She will. And to that end, not to rush you out of here.
Liam: Right, okay, yeah. Yeah. Hey, dad.
Bill: Yeah.
Liam: Good luck.
Bill: Thanks, liam.
Liam: Really wish I could walk out of here without worrying about you.
Bill: There’s nothing to worry about.
Liam: Yeah, well that sword necklace says otherwise.
Bill: That’s just for protection, which I won’t need once my katie comes back to me.
Carter: Is there any chance bill might be playing on your sympathy?
Katie: Oh, there’s always that chance, but then again, maybe he’s not and something bad is happening or it’s about to happen.
Carter: You and bill aren’t together anymore. It’s not your job to monitor his emotional well-being.
Katie: You’re right. You’re absolutely right, but he is will’s father and that means that whatever he does affects will and I have to pay attention to that.
Carter: You’re right, you’re right.
Katie: I have to go. But I am going to take you up on that dinner another time.
Carter: Count on it.
Hope: What? What is happening? What is happening?
Steffy: I don’t know. Clearly, we missed something.
Brooke: It’s simple, really.
Taylor: Yeah, it really is. We– we– we have been– should’ve done this a long time ago.
Brooke: We had to be ready.
Taylor: And strong enough.
Hope: For what exactly?
Brooke: Reclaiming our lives.
Taylor: Choosing ourselves.
Brooke: Controlling our destiny.
Taylor: Oh, you said the “d” word.
Brooke: Oh, I didn’t say the “d” word.
Taylor: You did. You just said– don’t say it anymore.
Steffy: What are you– what are you saying? I’m so confused right now.
Taylor: Um, just that the competition is over. Yeah.
Brooke: Look, it comes down to this. If ridge is in our lives, that’s great, but if he’s not, that’s fine too. We don’t need ridge to be happy.
Taylor: No, no. We don’T. We don’t need ridge to be happy. We don’T. We don’t need ridge to be happy.
Brooke: I know!
Taylor: Oh, my god. Why didn’t we do this before? We didn’t we figure this out?
Brooke: It’s so true. It’s so true.
Bill: Wow. You look stunning.
Katie: Well, you’ve seen this dress a million times, but thank you.
Bill: It’s not about that. It’s about what’s in it. Thank you for coming, katie.
Katie: Honestly, I’M… I’m concerned about you.
Bill: Well, hey. I’ll take what I can get.
Katie: Seriously, bill. You– you don’t seem like yourself.
Bill: That’s because I’m not. I’m never myself when we’re apart. Don’t do that, katie. Please don’t– don’t guard against me.
Katie: We’ve– we’ve been over this over and over again.
Bill: I know, I know. I– I– I know that, but you– see, you have to understand that I’ve been… I’ve been learning something new everyday about myself, about my feelings for you. I hurt you. I know that. And I regret it so very, very much. All you ever did was love me and support me and I repaid that, fool that I am, by hurting you in the worst possible way.
Katie: She’s my sister, bill.
Bill: Yes, I– I– I know that. I just– I just allow myself to get obsessed with brooke.
Katie: You said she was the great love of your life.
Bill: That’s not true. I didn’t mean that. I wish I could take those words back. You and I share a son and I love you and will more than words could possibly express and I miss us. I miss our beautiful family. I miss the life that we should be sharing.
Katie: The life we would be sharing if you hadn’t thrown it away. And I will never understand why. I will never understand why– how you could be so reckless with everything that we built together.
Bill: Maybe I didn’t feel like I deserved it. Maybe I– I– I don’t deserve– I– I– don’t know, katie. I get… I get in this bad, uh, head space and, uh, I make– I make poor decisions. I make poor decisions personally and professionally. I’m begging you, please. I just need to hear from you that there’s a chance. A chance for your forgiveness. A chance to reunite our family, just a chance to rebuild your faith and trust in me because I swear, I swear I will never let you down again. Just tell me that you will come back to me.
Steffy: Okay, so that’s it. Dad’s not coming back to you?
Hope: Or to you?
Taylor: Look, I know how much you wanted your father and me back together.
Steffy: I wanted it because I thought you wanted it. I mean, your happiness is my motivation.
Hope: I– I just wanted the same happiness for you too.
Brooke: Well, here’s the thing. Taylor and I finally realized that true happiness comes from within. We are all in charge of our own inner peace.
Taylor: Yes.
Steffy: Oh, my gosh. This is… this is amazing.
Hope: I never thought I would see this day. I mean, uh–
Steffy and hope: Mom, I’m so proud of you.
Taylor: Yay.
Brooke: Oh, sweetie.
Steffy: Now, serious moment. Um, that celebratory cake over there?
Hope: Yeah, I think we might want a piece of that.
Steffy: Yeah.
Brooke: Before we dig into it, can you please get some plates and forks from the kitchen?
Hope: Yes.
Steffy: I can do that. Yeah.
Taylor: Thanks. Oh, my gosh. Did you see that? Did you see how happy they are? And how proud they are? This feels so good.
Brooke: They are. It does, it feels so good.
[ Brooke sighing ]
Brooke: And I have you to thank for it, my friend. My friend, taylor.
Taylor: My friend, brooke.
[ Both laughing ]
Taylor: Oh, my god.
Brooke: It’s really incredible.
