Steffy: That was quick.
Finn: I didn’t even get through one page and Kelly fell asleep.
Steffy: Well, the beach definitely wore her out.
Finn: Her? I’m exhausted. Can you tell me again why I suggested tag?
Steffy: Yeah, I know. That girl can run.
Finn: I think she’ll be a future track star.
Steffy: Just think. When Hayes gets older and they’re both gonna be running around, we’re really gonna be tired.
Finn: Hmm. Well, see, that’s the beauty of having two–they can chase each other and we can watch in the distance, hand in hand.
[Glasses chime]
Steffy: I like the way you think.
Finn: Happy?
Steffy: I am. I just… I just wish, um…
Finn: Hmm. That… someone else, anyone else, was my birth mother?
[Knocking on door]
Jack: Sheila.
Sheila: Jack. How’d you find me?
Jack: Doesn’t matter.
Sheila: What do you want?
Jack: You need to leave town. Tonight.
Quinn: Somehow, um, Eric found it in his heart to forgive me. He says he loves me. He doesn’t want the marriage to end. He says he wants me back.
Carter: Be with him, Quinn. Go home. I want this for you. I know Eric can give you a wonderful, fulfilling life.
Eric: Hey. Back where it belongs. More importantly… so are you.
Quinn: Hmm.
Eric: Hmm.
Eric: A part of me was afraid that you might, uh– you might turn me down.
Quinn: Turn down one of your martinis? Have I ever?
Eric: [Chuckles] No, uh, turn down coming home. I was afraid maybe enough time had passed that you had decided to move on. But I should’ve known that you wanted our marriage to survive just as much as I did. To us.
Quinn: To us.
[Glasses chime]
Sheila: I know you’re upset, but you can’t just order me to leave.
Jack: Why would you stay? Nobody wants you here. It’s not like you’ll ever have a relationship with Finn or Hayes. Steffy made that clear.
Sheila: Well, maybe it’s not gonna be up to Steffy.
Jack: Well, I’m saying it, too. Stay away from Finn, from all of them. I knew you were trouble years ago, that much was clear. But after what I heard from the Forresters, there’s no place for you in my son’s life, Sheila. None.
Steffy: I don’t want to dwell on Sheila. I don’t want to obsess about her. But she’s related to you. And to our son.
Finn: It’s okay… if you are obsessing. I mean, it makes sense. The things that she’s done, I can only imagine how shocking it was to find out the woman that terrorized your family and took so much from you… turns out to be your mother-in-law?
Steffy: Hmm.
Eric: The only good thing about being here alone is that I’ve been playing a lot of piano. I got out a lot of music, most of which I cannot play. But this, um, is a bunch of old songs. I’m gonna play one of them for you.
Quinn: Ooh!
Eric: Yeah, I think you’ll like it. It’s a nice old song. Older than I am.
Quinn: Oh, ho.
Eric: But then all this stuff is.
Quinn: [Chuckles]
[Eric begins playing]
πΆπ΅ I’ll be loving you always with a love that’s true always when the things you’ve planned need a helping hand
I will understand it always always days may not be fair always that’s when I’ll be there always not for just an hour
not for just a day not for just a year but always πΆπ΅
[Quinn hits last note, laughs]
Quinn: Oh, that was beautiful. I wish I could play like you. I wish I could…carry a tune even just to let you know how happy I am to be home.
Eric: I can see that. I can see that in your eyes.
Quinn: You can?
Eric: Yeah. I think I’ve been married to you long enough to know what you’re feeling inside just by looking at you.
Quinn: Then I guess what you see is my commitment and my devotion. And it won’t waver. Ever again.
Finn: I was just so thrilled. I assumed you all would be too. But, the looks on your faces… [Chuckles]
Steffy: Sheila knew how we were gonna react. That’s what you need to understand. She knew and she didn’t care. She wanted to disrupt our day.
Finn: She didn’t intend on interacting with any of you. All right? She said she wanted to leave, that she just wanted to make sure that… I knew she loved me.
Steffy: I know you want to believe her. I understand, but… you have to realize all the heartache she’s caused me and my family. Babe, please stay as far away from Sheila as possible. For all our sakes.
Sheila: Finn’s an adult. He can make his own decisions as to who he wants to allow in his life.
Jack: He’s a good man, Sheila. Honest and caring. I won’t let you take advantage of that. Especially now that he knows the truth.
Sheila: Wait, the truth?
Jack: You need to do yourself a favor. Do us all a favor and leave.
Sheila: And what if I don’t want to go?
Jack: Do the right thing for your son, and get as far away from him as possible. You knew that was the right thing for the baby, didn’t you?
Sheila: So much has changed.
Jack: Not this! You’re not interfering in my son’s life, in his family. I won’t have it.
Quinn: Oh, no, no, no. Am I boring you?
Eric: My wonderful Quinn, you are many, many things. You are never boring.
Quinn: [Chuckles]
Eric: I’m sorry. Been a long day.
Quinn: Hmm.
Eric: It’s been a wonderful day.
Quinn: It certainly has. And I think I know… the perfect way to end it. I’m gonna head upstairs and…get ready for bed. Care to join me? Hmm?
Eric: Yeah. I’ll be up shortly.
Quinn: Okay.
Eric: I, uh– I’m so glad we did not give up on us.
Quinn: [Sighs] I was afraid I was gonna have to. I was preparing for a very different life. But a life without you? Hmm. No. This is where I’m supposed to be.
Finn: I have to admit, it is pretty painful, knowing that I came from someone who caused so much harm.
Steffy: Yeah, I don’t throw the word “evil” around lightly, but… I’m sorry. I know you had high hopes.
Finn: I did. Don’t worry about me. I mean, not all dreams are supposed to come true, right? I’m really gonna be fine. Let’s focus on us– our marriage and our family and our future together.
Steffy: A future that doesn’t involve Sheila. There’s no room for her here. Never will be.
Sheila: Telling me what I can and cannot do? It’s not a smart idea.
Jack: Neither is interfering with my son and his family.
Sheila: I adhered to the adoption agreement, and I kept silent about who I was, but I don’t need to be silent anymore. Now that I’ve met Finn, I can have a relationship with my son the way that it should be.
Jack: Over my dead body.
Sheila: I don’t see why it needs to come to that.
Jack: [Laughs] Was that a threat?
Sheila: You’re the one that’s been threatening me, telling me to get out of town.
Jack: Stay away from Finn, you hear me? From his wife. From his child.
Sheila: You don’t think I know why you’re really here, panicking, lashing out?
Jack: What father wouldn’t be panicking? Learning some psychopath is worming her way into his son’s life?
Sheila: Is that really why you panicked? Huh. Or was it the look on your lovely wife’s face, that hurt expression, when ridge was questioning you about me when he was berating you for keeping quiet? It was a good cover, though. I knew she was involved. I just didn’t know as to what extent. Please.
Jack: Cover? No, Sheila. That was the truth.
Sheila: You know what? Half-truths are still lies, Jack. And you didn’t have the guts to say what you were really thinking, did you? The reason you have kept quiet about me all these years.
Quinn: Eric. Eric, sweetheart. I’ve been waiting. Sleep well, my love.
Carter: I hold on to what you’ve given me, Quinn, but you don’t need me to tell you what you need to do.
Quinn: So this is goodbye? Carter, I love you.
Carter: I love you, too.
Eric: [Sighs]
Steffy: I warned you. We all warned you. [Chuckles]
Finn: You did, and I laughed it off. I thought there is no way an infant could be as tiring as med school.
Steffy: Lesson learned. Your wife is right about everything.
Finn: [Chuckles]
Steffy: Not just about parenting. Everything.
Finn: I learned that a long time ago. I always listen to my wife.
Steffy: Especially when it comes to Sheila, all the danger she poses.
Finn: Including Sheila. I won’t let her hurt us. I promise you. I won’t let anyone or anything hurt our family.
Sheila: Yeah, your wife seemed pretty upset that you didn’t tell her about me. Imagine how she’d feel if she found out there was so much to know, so much more. The embarrassment that I could have caused you, I think a little gratitude is warranted.
Jack: All right. Tell you what. You disappear, never contact Finn again, and I’ll send you a “thank you” note, maybe some flowers.
Sheila: Oh. Just like old times. You know, don’t pretend that you’ve forgotten. You used to go to the hospital to see your wife and catch my eye. You kissed on the cheek and not five minutes later, you’d be taking me into the supply closet.
Jack: Stop.
Sheila: You would feign disappointment when she had a double shift to pull. Remember that?
Jack: I said stop.
Sheila: But in reality– Li seems like a good woman.
Jack: Yeah.
Sheila: Very kind and devoted. I really wonder how devoted she would be if she found out that her husband got another woman pregnant and then convinced her to adopt his bastard son.
Jack: You wouldn’t do that.
Sheila: You have no idea what I would do, what I’m capable of. You don’t tell me to leave town. You don’t tell me you’re going to the Forresters. In fact, you don’t tell me anything. I’m the one calling the shots. You understand that? I kept your dirty little secret. I protected you. I stayed away from my son. But no more. Now that he’s in my life, I’m not going anywhere. Don’t you dare try to come between me and my son. Don’t you do it. Because if you do, if you try, you’re gonna regret it.
