Philip: Because you’re too good a guy to use that letter to your advantage. I, on the other hand, am not that good a guy, so I took care of it for you.
Lucas: What do you mean you “took care of it” for me, philip? What the hell did you do?
Philip: I gave it to nicole.
Lucas: Nicole has the letter now?
Philip: Mm-hmm, and seeing as how sami made sure eric found out about nicole sleeping with xander, I’m pretty sure she probably wanted to return the favor.
Sami: So you ordered the champagne. What’s the occasion?
Ej: Oh, I thought we’d toast my new position at dimera enterprises.
Sami: What a good idea. I love this. I have so much to toast, my incredibly smart, handsome, wonderful, and extremely successful husband. I am the luckiest woman in the world, and I can’t think of a time you and I have ever been happier together than we are right now.

Ciara: You think they’re just gonna not notice when the bride doesn’t show up?
Ben: The bride will be there.

Nicole: He came home, and we were so happy that we decided to throw a spur-of-the-moment anniversary party.

Nicole: And that’s where he found out, at the party, that I–I cheated on him.
Rafe: Oh. Okay, that really does not sound like you.
Nicole: I tried calling you that night, but I got your voicemail, and I didn’t leave a message. It was right after eric told me that he was gonna spend three more months in africa.
Rafe: Wait, I… I saw you the next morning outside the salem inn.
Nicole: And I told you that I got a room there to sleep it off. But I lied, and I spent the night with another man.
Lucas: When did you give nicole the letter?
Philip: About an hour ago.
Lucas: An hour ago you gave it to her? Maybe I can still stop her from giving it to ej. Philip, get out of my way.
Philip: Now, listen to me. You wanted sami and ej to be over. You said to me that he’s all wrong for her and that she should be with you.
Lucas: Who cares what I said?
Philip: I do, and now there’s a good chance that everything’s gonna play out exactly like it’s supposed to. And the best part of it is, nicole’s gonna be the bad guy.
Lucas: No, man. You. You’re the bad guy.
Philip: Just listen to me for a minute. Sami’s gonna need someone to pick up the pieces when ej dumps her. And I predict that someone’s gonna be you.
Sami: Ej, for a second there, it sounded like you called me an adulteress.
Ej: You heard me correctly. I know you cheated on me.
Sami: You can’t know that. I never, ever–
Ej: Oh, please give up the phony indignation. I know you slept with lucas.
Sami: Where is this coming from?
Ej: Does it matter? It’s the truth.
Sami: It’s nicole, isn’t it? She’s behind this.
Ej: And there’s a reason why she said let she who is without sin…
Sami: Okay, listen.

Sami: You cannot believe a word that nicole says, ej. I mean, she hates me. She’s trying to get revenge against me for what happened last night. She blew up her own marriage, and now she’s trying to destroy mine. I mean, you can’t fall for that. Can’t you see? I mean, you know what a liar she is.
Ej: You see, the question is, can I believe you? It’s a matter of trust.
Sami: How can you not trust me? I rescued you from near death. I fought for you to get the best treatment in the world. We have been through so much. I mean, we survived the darkest, roughest time in our marriage. We got through it.
Ej: You brought me back. You made me whole again, and instead of gratitude, you got coldness from me. I failed you, and I’ve acknowledged that. It forced me to be brutally honest with myself and you. I believed we recommitted to one another.
Sami: Because we did.
Ej: Then honor that commitment and be honest with me now. What happened before I came back?
Sami: I slept with lucas.

Sami: Will you please give me a chance to explain?
Ej: I told you what it meant to me that you didn’t turn to another man while I was shutting you out. You let me go on thinking that.

Sami: Okay. I’m sorry, okay? We were in the dungeon. I thought kristen was gonna kill us. She sent xander to kill us. That’s why I had to call you for the wire transfer.
Ej: What’s that got to do with having sex?
Sami: I thought I was gonna die. I didn’t think I was ever gonna see you again or my kids, and I was upset. I was sort of freaking out, and…and lucas comforted me, and it just happened. I didn’t mean for it to happen, okay? I didn’t mean for it to happen, and the second it was over, I knew it was the biggest mistake of my life.
Ej: So you’re saying it was just the one time and you were in extremis?
Sami: If “in extremis” means that I was in fear for my life, yes.
Lucas: What are we doing?
Sami: I don’t know. It only happened once. Ej, I know it’s bad, okay? I know, but we can get past this. It’ll take time. I understand that. But you are the only man for me. I love you. You are the love of my life, and I will spend the rest of my life working to make you happy and make us happy, and I think we can get past it. Don’t you think we can get past this?
Ej: We could have if you’d told me the truth just now.
Sami: I am telling you the truth.
Ej: Not according to a letter I received.

Lucas: Damn it, man. I knew it. I should have never pulled that letter out of the fireplace. This is gonna destroy sami. It’s not gonna help me, and I know her. She’s gonna be devastated at first, and then she’s gonna get mad.
Philip: But not at you. This isn’t your fault.
Lucas: It is my fault. What are you talking about? Sami put the letter in the fireplace. I took it out. If it wasn’t for me, that letter would be in ashes right now. Now, get out of my way, so I can make sure nicole still has the letter.
Philip: I was only trying to help.

Ciara: I’m should just open the door and jump out by myself.

Ben: Because after you sent me those divorce papers, I didn’t know what to do with myself, so I took off on your motorcycle. I came up here. I burned your divorce papers right here. Then I started fixing the place up.

Ben: Well, for one thing, it kept me pretty damn busy. But more importantly, I didn’t want it to look the way it did when you were so scared. I wanted it to look the way it did when you and I fell in love.
Rafe: Nicole, hey. I would never judge you. You know that, right? And believe me, I know what it is like to have a one-night stand that you regret.
Nicole: Oh, I regret it all right. And if I told you who the guy was you would totally understand why.
Rafe: Well, listen. You know you can tell me anything, right?
[Knock at door]

Ej: Surely you remember me speaking to kristen. You took the phone out of my hand and hung it up.

Ej: Remember me saying that she said she’d send me a letter?

Ej: As you can see, it’s a little charred around the edges as if someone tried to burn it and failed.

Ej: I’ll read you some of it. “I found out what sami had done while I was staying with john and marlena. I don’t know if you’ve heard, but I was masquerading as your dear mother, so I could be close to brady. I was up early one morning, and I heard sami sneaking a man out of the house. I’m sorry to tell you this, but I also heard them talk about having had sex the night before. I confronted sami, and she finally admitted that she cheated on you with none other than lucas horton.” So it wasn’t just one desperate moment when you and lucas were being held prisoner. It also happened in the safety of your mother’s guest room and probably elsewhere.
Sami: No.
Ej: I took…

Ej: Responsibility for treating you badly. I bared my soul to you! And yet you just stood there, looked me in the eye, and lied through your teeth.
Sami: You’re gonna believe kristen? She’s nuttier than a fruitcake. She went around town pretending to be your mother.

Ej: You’re lying right now, and you’ve had multiple opportunities to tell the truth to me. Good god. The day that I arrived here you stood silent, while lucas lectured me on my failures as a husband.
Sami: I was speechless.

Sami: Okay. Yes. It happened in my mother’s house the first time. And then it happened in the dungeon, just like I said it did in the second time. And that’s it. That’s the only times it ever happened. It is never going to happen again.

Sami: I was at my mother’s house, and it was the day that I was cleared for the charlie dale murder. And lucas came by to thank me for everything I had done for allie. And he was just coming to say goodbye, because he assumed I was coming home to you to italy. And then everything I had been holding inside of me, it just sort of started pouring out. I told him everything I had been feeling and dealing with, and I admitted that I didn’t even know if I had a marriage to go back to. And then I didn’t want to admit it to you. I didn’t want to admit it to me, and then I said how hard it’s been and how lonely I feel, how alone I feel, even when we’re in the same room together. And I told him that I was afraid you were never gonna touch me again.
Ej: I can’t believe it. You’re saying that this is my fault?
Lucas: Do you know if ej read the letter?
Nicole: He did. He read it right in front of me.
Lucas: How long ago?
Nicole: About an hour.
Lucas: Thanks a lot, nicole. Thank you. Now he’s gonna kill her. Great job.
Nicole: Well, and they’ll get back together. That’s their dance, lucas. How long have we all been standing on the sidelines watching?
Lucas: You’re wrong. I gotta go.
Nicole: Why are you staring at me like that?
Rafe: So it was lucas.

Rafe: What do you mean, “what?” The guy you slept with. It was lucas.

Abe: Ciara has been held prisoner all this time, and you two have arranged for her to be held prisoner again.
Claire: No it is not the same.
Lani: Okay. I’ve heard enough. Shawn, I’m sorry, but I have to take her in, and you too.
