At the club, Leslie had dinner with Eva and Izaiah. Leslie noticed Anastasia’s first husband Lionel. She flirted with him while she tried to get his help with the red tape with her shouse. Later on, Leslie and Lionel got cozy with each other. Sharon and Tracy went to see Anita so she could join them at Jazz Fest. Anita showed them that she wasn’t ready to sing. They told her that they needed permission from one of Barbara’s heirs to use her vocals on the rerecorded tracks. Later on, they went to see Leslie to get her permission to use Barbara’s vocals. Leslie said she wanted to be in the sound booth during the recording. She also wanted a producer credit. Anita said she lost her mind. Sharon and Tracy tried to talk Anita into going along with the idea, but Anita didn’t want to do it.
Vanessa was upset about the anniversary of Doug’s death. She told Joey that she dreaded going through his things with Deanna. Vanessa thought Deanna was doing better. At Uptown, Deanna thought about her father. Doug told her to hurry up with her plan against Joey. When Noah showed up, Deanna pretended to be talking to Vanessa. He comforted her until Vanessa showed up. When Vanessa and Deanna went inside of Uptown, Deanna asked how she could miss her father when she was with Joey. They ended up in an argument until Deanna told her she wanted to go through Doug’s things alone. Joey told Randy to use his friendship with Vanessa to find out if Doug had a safe deposit box. Randy didn’t want to do that. Joey said he could be in his feelings for now, but he better be ready for work the next day.
