Nicole tried to calm Samantha’s nerves about the cotillion. While Nicole was talking to her, Francesca and Anastasia arrived at the club. Anastasia approached them, and she was very rude to them. She made comments about Samantha not being a biological Dupree. Anastasia also insulted June by calling her a drug addict. Nicole had enough and told her off. Francesca apologized to Samantha for what her grandmother said about her. She agreed with her grandmother, but she didn’t think she should say things like that out loud. Samantha had enough of them and couldn’t do it anymore. She decided to leave the country club. Anita was nervous to talk to Dr. Bauer about her next steps. They talked about how long it would take Anita’s hair to grow back and whether she should have a lumpectomy or a double mastectomy. Anita decided to get a lumpectomy. Vernon wanted her to focus on the cotillion and Chelsea’s wedding as well as the life they have together. Vanessa thought about Doug while she was talking to Joey about the cotillion. He got angry when he realized that Vanessa was looking for his sister. Joey thought she was trying to fix his life because she felt guilty about her own life. Vanessa got upset and stormed off.
Vanessa went to Uptown to meet with Donnell. They talked about Deanna. Deanna was doing better. Joey interrupted them to offer Donnell cufflinks that his uncle gave him. Donnell didn’t want them. Joey apologized for overstepping. After Joey left, Vanessa wanted the people in her life to co-exist. Later Donnell went to Joey’s office to apologize to him. Joey let him know that he wasn’t trying to replace his father. He wanted to be friends with him. Randy and Mona saw each other at Orphey Gene’s. She agreed to meet him for breakfast, but she pulled the breaks when he started flirting with her. Mona was a woman of substance. She wanted to know about Lynette. He told her that she was gone. Randy wondered why she bothered meeting with him. She wondered the same thing. Mona wanted him to go back to church.
