Sarah goes to see Brady and brings him a book about snakes for Rachel. As they sit together, Brady tells Sarah that he might be practicing to become a private investigator.
Xander goes to the DiMera Mansion and tells Gwen that he got her text about being in the mood to celebrate, so he asks what they are celebrating. Gwen tells him they are celebrating money because Dimitri has agreed to sign the divorce papers. Xander asks what brought about this turn of events. Gwen tells him that he agreed so he can go on with his affair with Leo. Gwen adds that Leo is also feeling guilty about betraying her, so he convinced Dimitri to take the high road. Gwen says it almost feels too good to be true but declares that she’s free and will soon be filthy rich, so she can’t wait for Xander to take her upstairs and ravage her. They kiss until EJ walks in and tells Xander to get the hell out.
At the Salem Inn, Dimitri and Leo kiss as Dimitri says he’s waited so long for this. Dimitri asks if this is real now and he’s not dreaming. Leo confirms it’s not a dream as they continue kissing.
Rafe goes to Kristen’s room at the Salem Inn and tells her that they need to have a chat. Kristen assumes it’s not a social visit and asks if he’s here to arrest her. Rafe says as far as he knows, she hasn’t done anything illegal. Kristen says not yet.
Brady explains to Sarah how he brought the pill bottle to Steve and they were talking about bringing Sophia to justice, but he had no idea it would lean in to discussing his future career path. Brady asks if that’s crazy. Sarah doesn’t think so and believes Brady would make a fantastic private investigator. Brady thinks he just learned a few tricks of the trade from John but Sarah believes he inherited his father’s investigative spirit. Sarah knows how hard it was for Brady to step away from Basic Black and lose that connection to John, but feels that Steve is offering another connection to John and it seems like it’s meant to be. Brady admits that Tate said the same thing. Sarah knows he’s been searching for a path that’s meaningful to him, so maybe this is it. Brady agrees that maybe it is.
Rafe tells Kristen that he’s not in the business of trying to make a case against his allies, so he will ignore her comment. Kristen questions him considering her an ally. Rafe says only if she still wants to take EJ down. Kristen had no idea that he was still considering her offer due to his radio silence. Rafe admits he thought she might be heading back to jail, so it didn’t seem like a good idea to hitch his wagon to that. Kristen says she gets that, but here is now with a former inmate and jokes about what the FBI might say. Rafe thinks they can be discreet if her offer still stands.
Gwen argues that EJ doesn’t give her orders and Xander is her guest. EJ responds that Gwen is his guest and not for much longer since he hears she’s finally divorcing Dimitri, therefore giving up her claim to any DiMera hospitality. Gwen questions EJ kicking her out. EJ thinks he’s within his right to do so while Gwen tells EJ that he can shove his objections up his ass.
Dimitri and Leo continue kissing until Leo starts to have flashbacks to being with Javi and suddenly stops, telling Dimitri that he can’t and doesn’t want to. Dimitri argues that he just told him to finalize their divorce for their relationship and now it feels like he’s pushing him away. Leo apologizes as he really thought he wanted to do this, but now he realizes if he were to be with him in that way, he would be betraying a part of himself and Javi.
Gwen sends Xander to get food from the kitchen while she deals with EJ. Gwen questions what is the matter with EJ and says he can’t kick her out for divorcing Dimitri. EJ reminds her that it’s his home so he can do whatever he pleases. Gwen argues that he is still going to need her money while EJ says not for long. Gwen threatens to blow out his secrets while EJ warns that goes both ways. EJ thinks they should continue to make people think that Dimitri is the only reason Gwen lives there. EJ complains about Gwen marching her parade of sexual conquests through his living room and asks what if Xander overheard something incriminating. Gwen argues that EJ making a fuss out of keeping people away is going to make it look like he has something to hide. EJ shuts the door and reminds her that they both have something to hide, like Lexie being in the basement in very delicate condition and it’s in both of their best interests that she remain until she is able to be resurrected. EJ shouts that the last person they need getting a whiff of that is Xander Kiriakis. Xander then enters the room and asks if he just heard his name.
Brady appreciates Sarah’s support and admits he’s kind of excited to be starting this new career path. Brady adds that he feels guilty about being excited when his daughter is back in Bayview. Sarah encourages that he still has to live his life. Sarah calls him a wonderful father and asks how Rachel is doing. Brady says she doesn’t understand why she has to go back there and that Kristen isn’t helping. Sarah asks if Kristen is using Rachel to extend her stay with him. Brady informs her that Kristen actually left last night. Sarah jokes that Hell must have froze over.
Rafe asks Kristen if she still hates EJ. Kristen confirms that every day is a new opportunity to despise him more and assures Rafe that she still wants to work with him. Rafe says that’s good because he has a job for her. Kristen reminds him that she doesn’t work for him and he doesn’t call the shots. Rafe tells her that if they are to team up and work together, there will be no shots. Rafe tells her he has a damn good alternative that he thinks she’s going to like. Rafe explains that the police wanted to search the DiMera secret room but EJ does what he does and the powers that be refused to issue the search warrant. Kristen asks what he’s looking for. Rafe mentions Dr. Rolf or the pod occupants. Rafe points out that Kristen is a DiMera, so no law says she can’t search her own estate and report back to him what she finds. Rafe says he’s not one to bend the law but the rules don’t apply when EJ has infiltrated the justice system and tainted everything in this town and he’s so damn sick of it. Kristen says if he fights fire with fire, she’ll bring a flamethrower. Rafe says everything is technically above board so Kristen doesn’t have to notify EJ of the search and if she finds something incriminating, they will take EJ down and make him pay for everything he’s done to all of them.
Gwen tells Xander that EJ was just saying that he’s the last person he wants in his home. Xander is surprised he ranks above Kristen and Jada. EJ questions what that is supposed to mean. Gwen suggests EJ is just jealous of the passion they have for each other because he’s going through a dry spell. Gwen tells EJ not to looks so defeated and it’s not like Xander is moving in or anything. Gwen says that they won’t be long as she and Xander head upstairs together.
Brady tells Sarah that Kristen had a meltdown and is furious with him because he defended Marlena after she gave her testimony which Sarah calls no surprise. Brady says he was shocked by Marlena’s testimony too but he gets that she thinks Bayview is what’s best for Rachel. Brady admits he’s not sure about Bayview after everything that happened with Sophia. Sarah says she’s disappointed too that no one caught on to what Sophia was doing but insists that the doctors there really do care, but they are just understaffed which Brady calls a big problem. Sarah is sure the doctors will be very vigilant moving forward. Sarah encourages that he has a very bright young girl and she has a family that loves her very much, so she will be okay. Brady thanks Sarah for listening to him go on about Rachel as her support means a lot to him. Sarah says she just realized this is the first time they’ve ever been in a house together, alone.
Dimitri doesn’t understand how Leo being with him is a betrayal of Javi when Leo and Javi are over. Leo says maybe on paper, but not in his heart. Leo knows he’s been agonizing over this and dragging it out for months. Leo says maybe it took a knock to the head to finally have the clarity he’s been looking for. Dimitri questions what he’s saying. Leo declares that he’s finally stopped lying to himself about what he wants and needs.
Kristen goes to the DiMera Mansion where EJ questions what she is doing there and remarks that he was hoping for a peaceful day with no theatrics. Kristen responds that there will be no peace for him because he’s screwed with her one time too many.
Brady tells Sarah that she’s right that they are finally alone. Brady puts Sarah’s hand on his heart and says they are thinking the same thing. They joke about Rachel’s snake being in the house and then they kiss. They then get up and head to Brady’s bedroom. Brady asks if she’s sure which Sarah says she is, so they kiss onto the bed and begin to undress each other.
Xander and Gwen go to her room where Gwen says she thought they could celebrate her divorce with a picnic and champagne. Xander responds that he had another thought and starts kissing her. Gwen says they can do both. Xander suggests working up their appetite as they begin to undress and continue kissing.
Kristen tells EJ that he knows this is his fault. EJ says she blames him for so many things, so she’ll need to be more specific. Kristen argues that he knows she means Rachel being back at Bayview. EJ says he’s sorry about what happened at the hearing and he hopes Rachel comes back soon. Kristen argues that Rachel shot EJ by accident because he pushed her to a breaking point by taking her Grandmother and mother away. Kristen complains that EJ made her confess to his shooting even when Johnny was about to be acquitted and Rachel was just acting out because she needed her mother and she was in prison because of him. EJ questions her suggesting that he’s to blame for all the questionable things Rachel has done. Kristen argues that he sacrificed her daughter to save his son and she came to promise him that Rachel’s suffering will not go unanswered.
Leo acknowledges that Dimitri saved his life twice and he’ll be forever grateful. Leo adds that he was willing to do jail time and get stuck in Alamainia to prove his innocence. Leo admits that they’ve had some incredible adventures together and he would not give that up for anything. Dimitri argues that he knows Leo loves him and that he isn’t thinking straight because he’s still recovering from the concussion and is confused. Dimitri pleads with Leo not to say it’s over between them. Leo tells Dimitri that he’s sorry, but it is. Leo knows it may be over between he and Javi and maybe he’ll be alone for the rest of his life, but at least he’ll be true to himself. Dimitri questions if Leo realizes what he’s done and what he made him do. Dimitri complains that he agreed to that lousy divorce settlement because of Leo. Dimitri argues that he was right that Leo’s moving on speech was an act, but not to fool Gwen, to fool him. Dimitri yells at Leo asking if he was plotting to steal his money this whole time too. Dimitri warns Leo not to do this and reminds him that he will be alone, shouting that he’s already blown it with Javi and he will never forgive him. Leo responds that he might be right.
EJ questions why Kristen is still there after threatening him. Kristen claims Harold put some mail in her room so EJ tells her to go get it. Kristen says she hasn’t had her drink yet and she suddenly needs one. EJ tells her to go ahead while he’s going to find room in the house where he doesn’t have to dodge half-baked threats. After EJ exits, Kristen then sneaks in to the tunnels.
Xander and Gwen kiss in bed and have sex.
Brady and Sarah continue kissing in bed.
Kristen sneaks in to the wine cellar secret room and asks if anyone is tied up in there but finds nothing. She takes a wine bottle and returns to the living room where EJ asks if she was doing a little snooping while she’s there. Kristen claims she just went for a specific wine bottle and complains about the selection at the Salem Inn. EJ questions what she was actually looking for. Kristen asks what else would she be looking for.
Dimitri calls Leo pathetic and damaged goods. Dimitri calls him fickle, unreliable, and so predictable. Dimitri remarks that Leo is always clawing for attention and betraying anyone foolish enough to care for him. Dimitri argues that Leo thinks he’s so clever, but anyone with half a brain can see right through him. Dimitri tells Leo that he’s never going to matter now and he’s never going to find happiness now, because he was his last chance at something real and he threw it away. Dimitri declares that Leo just made a horrible mistake that will haunt him for the rest of his miserable existence. Dimitri hopes it eats him alive as he then exits the room.
Xander puts his clothes back on while Gwen looks over the food. Xander says he’s sorry but he does have to get back to the office. Xander tells Gwen that this was super fun and they should do it again as soon as possible. They kiss goodbye as Xander then exits. Gwen sits back on the bed and opens the bottle of champagne.
Brady and Sarah lay in bed together after having sex. They agree that it was worth the wait but they never want to wait that long again.
EJ calls Rita and says this could be a problem and he doesn’t want to take any chances. EJ says from now on he doesn’t want anyone passing the front gate as Xander comes downstairs and stops to listen in from behind the living room door as EJ tells Rita that he just caught Kristen sneaking out of the tunnels, disappointed that she didn’t find anything. Xander then exits the mansion. EJ tells Rita that thankfully they made other arrangements for their project, so no one will ever find out.
Rafe walks through the town square and gets a text from Kristen, telling him the secret room was empty and asks what other plan he has. Rafe is then shocked to see Javi sitting in the town square. Rafe hugs him and asks why he didn’t tell him he was coming to Salem. Dimitri then comes out from the Salem Inn and sees them.
