Brooke: [ Sighs ] I– i haven’t been able to wipe this smile off my face since R.J. Came home.
Ridge: I know the feeling.
Brooke: I don’t think I let myself really feel how much I missed him.
Ridge: I get that, ’cause it, uh, it hurts too much, doesn’t it? But you gotta let ’em go. Let them be who they are.
Brooke: As opposed to who you want them to be, right? I can’t believe you’re actually saying that.
Ridge: I can’t believe you’re saying that. All I did was nudge him in what I think is the right direction. I got him to put pencil to paper, and he’s, uh– he’s talented.
Brooke: Show me. Oh! Uh-huh. That’s, uh– wow!
[ Chuckles ]
Ridge: What, you don’t think it looks like me?
Brooke: Uh, let’s see. Yeah. Yeah. Actually, it does, it looks just like you. That’s, uh– that’s what’s so funny.
[ Chuckles]
[ Sighs ] Mm.
Liam: So, I don’t know. I mean, assuming dad signs off on it, I think we could– we could finalize the deal in a matter of days.
Wyatt: Really? Yes! See? This is what I’m talking about. See how productive we can be when you actually show up to meetings?
Liam: Oh, my god. You’re just– you’re– you’re gonna hold that over my head forever. You’re just– okay, fine.
Wyatt: Pretty much, yeah.
Liam: I’m ready for it. No, it’s great. It’s great.
Wyatt: Hey, I do have a question for you, though.
Liam: Yeah.
Wyatt: What is happening with the thomas and hope situation? Any updates?
Thomas: Okay, so what do you think? Should we take the hemline up a little bit or do you wanna leave it where it is?
Hope: You know what? I think in order to show off the shoes, we should bring up the hemline in the front just a little.
Thomas: Of course, that was, um… that was my instinct as well.
[ Chuckling ]
Hope: Of course it was.
[ Chuckles ]
Petra: There’s no doubt, you two make magic together.
Steffy: I agree. Hope and thomas are great business partners.
Wyatt: Look, obviously, I know you’ve been struggling with the idea of hope working so closely with thomas.
Liam: Oh, I’m struggling? Have I been struggling? Like I’ve been struggling in school or like I struggle for the driver’s test–
Wyatt: I know.
Liam: That’s very diplomatic of you. I appreciate that.
Wyatt: I’m just wondering, is anything concerning happened?
Liam: Uh, concerning? Did–
Wyatt: Yes.
Liam: Not technically, but that doesn’t mean there’s not gonna be something. I mean, this is how thomas works, right? It’s like nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing. And then, oh my god, he was obsessed with hope the whole time, right? I just don’t– I don’t want her and douglas dealing with that again.
Wyatt: I feel for you, man. I’m– I’m sorry.
Liam: Well, don’t, because that’s who hope is and she’s very trusting and that’s one of the things I admire about her, and paradoxically, it also creates a huge blind spot, which is why I’m keeping my eyes peeled in her stead. Uh, make sure nobody takes advantage of it, including and especially “tom*S.”
Brooke: I– I must say, R.J. Really has talent. I mean, this is incredible. Look at how he’s captured your– your mannerisms. Your essence. Look at the hair! Oh, my gosh– no, no.
[ Laughing ] The hands. The hands!
[ Overlapping chatter ]
Taylor: Okay, okay, what is so funny?
Brooke: Oh, my gosh. Okay. I guess you better be careful what you wish for. Because ridge took a pencil and put it in R.J.’S hand, was hoping that he would deliver a brilliant design, and voila.
[ Laughing]
Taylor: Oh, it is– it is the spitting image.
Ridge: What are you laughing at? Why are you piling on? What– what’s happening?
Taylor: Because it’s so easy.
Brooke: Yes, it is.
Ridge: Okay well, I don’t even know why you’re here. Looking for thomas? He’s in a meeting with hope and steffy.
Taylor: I am actually looking for thomas, but okay, fine. I– I– I love that everyone is getting along. I– I love it. The three of us, our daughters. You know what? We’re finally acting like the extended family we should have been all along.
Brooke: Mm.
Taylor: Right?
Brooke: Yeah.
Hope: I don’t know. I still think maybe we should raise the waistline a little bit, you know, and make it more marketable to a broader audience?
Thomas: Yeah. Create a better silhouette. Okay. Yeah, great. Petra, thank you so much. You have been wonderful as usual.
Petra: You should see me after work. Really, though. Any time.
Thomas: I’ll remember that.
[ Hope clearing throat ]
Steffy: Well, congratulations, both of you. Looks like hope for the future is back on track. Hopefully that will be reflected when the preorders are released today.
Hope: [ Sighs ] Yeah, I’m kinda nervous about that.
Thomas: Not me. We’re gonna kill it.
Hope: Well, of course you aren’t, you weren’t here when hope for the future was in a downward spiral. And believe me when I tell you, it was not fun. But luckily you’re back now. You’ve given new life to the line and I couldn’t be more grateful. (Buzz) morning!
Wyatt: I mean, I gotta hand it to him. Deacon has done a great job with this place. I mean, this pizza is phenomenal.
Liam: Totally. And vegetarian.
Wyatt: Yeah.
Liam: It’s still good. Right?
Wyatt: All right, it’s okay.
Liam: Mm-hmm.
Wyatt: I think deacon’s surprising a lot of people lately.
Liam: Yeah. But not hope. Because she always believed in her dad and she’s all too happy to rub in our faces that she was right about him.
Wyatt: Yeah. Well, let’s just hope that she’s right about thomas and that he’s got a handle on things. You know what I mean? But I do think it’s a good idea to keep a watchful eye on him.
Liam: I went and talked to him.
Wyatt: What?
Liam: Yeah.
Wyatt: What did he say?
Liam: Uh, what did he say? What do you think he said? He– he admitted that he’s made mistakes in the past but he’s not that guy anymore. He’s been working on himself. He’s a changed man. He’s definitely, definitely, definitely not obsessed with hope. And I don’t have to worry. You know, it’s all that.
Wyatt: So, you believe him.
[ Liam snorts, giggles ]
Taylor: You know, this is kind of like a– a dawn of a new era. Both our families standing together, supporting each other.
Brooke: Well, what makes me happy is that our daughters followed in our footsteps and ended their rivalry. Maybe they’ll become best friends, like we are.
Taylor: Wouldn’t that be something?
Brooke: It would.
[ Chuckling]
Ridge: I guess that makes you guys trailblazers, right? Because our families are finally together and not fighting anymore.
Taylor: And you know what? I– I know that you don’t fully believe in thomas yet, but I think in time you will. He really is in a good place.
Brooke: I hope he is. For your sakes, as his parents, and for– for hope, too. She has invested a lot in thomas.
Thomas: Hope, I– I can’t tell you how much your faith and your belief in me has meant. It’s incredible. After everything that I did. I hurt you and your mom and I even brought our son into it, and it– it pains me that I did that, but I did and… you somehow were able to see past that and see a future that didn’t involve thomas becoming that person, but being a much better person, and you granted me this opportunity to come back and help design for this line, which I love so much and I know means so much to you. And I just– thank you for that.
Hope: Thomas, you have to stop thanking me. I mean, you’re doing it basically every time you put a pen to a piece of paper and create a new design. But that, that’s you. That’s all you. I mean, thomas, this collection wouldn’t be the same without you, and we know that’s the truth. Uh, look, I think those preorder numbers are in right now, so I’m gonna go check on them.
Thomas: Okay, hold on. Hold on.
[ Chuckles ] You don’t need to cross your fingers. It’s all gonna work out, I promise.
Hope: Okay.
Thomas: What?
Steffy: You are just doing an amazing job, you really are. And I can see that you are turning your life around. Um…
Thomas: It seems like there’s a “but” coming.
Steffy: I just watch you and hope working together. I see how devoted you are to the success of hope for the future, and I know you’ve been focused on it for months, working with hope to save the line.
Thomas: That’s the goal.
Steffy: Yeah, but what about the personal side? I love you, thomas. So, I have to ask. Are you still fixated on hope?
[Bones cracking]
Liam: Listen, the fact of the matter is thomas has shown us all, more than once, how unstable he is. And I just– I don’t– I don’t know, I don’t want hope getting caught up in all the crazy.
Wyatt: But she’s still, like, on the lookout, right? Even though she’s given him the benefit of the doubt.
Liam: Yes. And I– I’m just– I’m just trying to practice letting that be enough. You know, let– letting her exercise her own judgment. It’s just difficult because I– I know how manipulative thomas can be, you know?
Wyatt: Not to mention the blind spot that you were talking about earlier.
Liam: There you go.
Wyatt: Look, man. I get it, all right? Hope’s your wife and your first instinct is to just protect her. Right? But I just want you to be careful. I don’t want you to talk too much about thomas when you’re spending time with hope.
Liam: I will say this. Hope has been working pretty hard to make sure that doesn’t happen. Like, as– as many hours as she’s been putting in–
Wyatt: Yeah?
Liam: She’s consciously carved out time for just the two of us. Her and me, husband and wife.
Wyatt: That’s– that’s great. Love it.
Liam: It’s– it’s been really nice. I– truth is, I don’t know what I did to deserve a woman like hope.
Taylor: Well, it means a lot that you’re willing to see thomas differently. You know, he just– he just wants to make everything right.
Ridge: And I think he is, right? He’s making some really good choices. Personally and professionally. I mean, his– his designs are great. Just full of positivity, right?
Taylor: Yes. Yes. It makes me feel so proud. It makes us proud as parents. And I think in time, thomas is gonna earn your trust, too, just like he did hope’S.
Brooke: That would make me very happy. And so far so good. He seems to be making changes. Let’s just hope it sticks.
Taylor: Oh. I think it will, I really do. He’s doing the work. He healed his relationship with you. He healed his relationship with steffy. That’s a lot. And now steffy and thomas are– are back to annoying each other on a daily basis as it should be.
[ Both chuckling ]
Steffy: Look, I’m not accusing you of anything.
Thomas: I get it. I appreciate your concern.
Steffy: Really?
Thomas: Really. Look, I– I’ve been going to therapy. I’ve been working on myself and digging through the– the darkness in my past, which led to my behavior. And I’m keeping my priorities straight this time. ‘Kay?
Steffy: Yeah. It certainly seems that way.
Thomas: It is. I mean, every morning I wake up, I have all these designs that just are flooding my brain and I have to get them out onto paper. You know, that’s my focus. And then also, you know, being a great dad to douglas is the most important thing in the world and being a good son to mom and dad, and being a great brother to you. Look, I’m– I’m not thinking about hope, and honestly, if she even threw herself at me, I would say no. Not that she would ever do that.
Steffy: No, that wouldn’t happen.
Thomas: No. [ Chuckles ] That’s what I said. It’s just– just a joke.
Steffy: Too soon, bro. Too soon.
Thomas: Okay, fine, fine. It was too soon. I’m sorry. But look, I promise I have all of my priorities straight and I’m in control of my life. You got no reason to worry.
Steffy: Okay.
Thomas: [ Chuckles ] Okay, come on.
Steffy: Okay.
[ Sighs ] Thank god. (Lucky) uh-oh the magic’s disappearing!
Thomas: Get the preorder numbers yet?
Hope: Yep.
Thomas: No, hope, no, no, it can’t be. Are– okay. All right. You know what? Um, I take full responsibility for everything. All right? We’ll– we’ll start over from the ground up, brand new designs.
Hope: Thomas, the numbers weren’t good.
Thomas: I’m getting that.
Hope: They were great.
Thomas: Are you– you joking?
Hope: Off the charts!
Thomas: Why would you– why would–
Hope: Exceeded our expectations! I don’t know, I couldn’t resist. I couldn’t resist.
Thomas: I’m so happy for you.
Hope: No, you should be happy for yourself. I mean, thomas, this comeback wouldn’t have happened without you.
Thomas: No, no, no, it was a team effort.
Hope: Well, yes, but you led that team, thomas. I mean, eric, zende, ridge, those– those are amazing designers, but it never was successful because no one has understood me the way that you do. I mean, working with you this time around, it’s been– it’s been amazing. I mean, it’s like we are in sync on everything. It’s been magical. And now, I mean, there’s no limit to where we can take hope for the future.
Thomas: You’re my inspiration. You know, it’s like it’s– it’s going from your head through these hands, out into the world.
Hope: Well, thank goodness for these hands, then.
[ Chuckles ]
[ Heartbeat thudding ] And thank goodness for you. Thank you for seeing me.
[ Thudding continues ]
[ Thudding fades ]
Thomas: Yeah, I’m so excited. This– this is just the beginning for hope for the future. Yeah, I’m excited for the journey ahead.
Hope: Me, too.
Thomas: Okay, I gotta head across the hall and grab something. Congratulations.
Hope: Back at you.
[ Chuckling ]
Hope: It’s been amazing.
I mean, it’s like we are
in sync on everything.
It’s been magical and now,
I mean,
there’s no limit to where we
can take hope for the future.
[ Door closes ]
Hope: Steffy. Hey, I didn’t realize you were still here.
Steffy: It looks like you were, uh, lost in thought.
Hope: Well, the preorder numbers are in.
Steffy: Yeah, I heard. I saw.
Hope: Saw?
Steffy: Look, my parents and I, we’ve been, uh, very proud of thomas. Obviously, his obsession with you led him to very dark places. But he rose above it. And we thought we could trust you and thomas to be able to work together without it having a bad effect on him.
Hope: And you’ve been right.
Steffy: Absolutely right about thomas. He’s changed. I see that. He realizes what he’s done with you was inappropriate and I know he won’t do that again. What I didn’t know, which I– I never would’ve thought, is that it would… it would be you.
Hope: Me?
Steffy: Yeah. Flirting with thomas.
Hope: What?
Steffy: I saw you, hope. You were looking right in thomas’s eyes, laying it on pretty thick.
Hope: All right, it’s not what you think–
Steffy: I know what I saw. I will not let you derail thomas.
Hope: Steffy, I would never try to–
Steffy: I can’t even believe we’re actually having this conversation. Things were going so well for all of us. Our moms are actually getting along. Thomas finally sees his full potential as a designer and a father. I will not allow you or anyone else to set him back. Do you hear me? So, I’m gonna ask you and ask you once. Do you have feelings for thomas? Hope, I want the truth. Do you have feelings for my brother?
