Bill: [Chuckles] Yeah. You did it. You finally opened up.
Sheila: That excites you, bill? Because what I told you is terrible.
Bill: Is it the truth?
Sheila: Yes.
Bill: This dr. Garvin, you had a fight and annie went over the balcony. And lance day. You killed him.
Ridge: Where is your team?
Sheila on audio: Yeah, but he threatened–
Ridge: Are they close?
Sheila: Yeah, these are really terrible memories, and this is such an important day. I really don’t want to spoil the moment you… you proposed.
Bill: [Chuckles]
Sheila: You want me to be your wife and I am so… I am so happy.
[Both chuckle]
Bill: So am I. You have no idea.
Sheila: Doesn’t it scare you? What–what I’ve done?
Bill: No, sheila. I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time.
Ridge: Yes, we have. We got her. She just confessed! That’s it!
Chen: Spencer did it.
Ridge: Oh, we’re sending the killer to prison and she’s never going to bother our families again.
Sheila: You don’t care… what I’ve done?
Bill: All that matters is that you finally said it.
[Phone buttons clicking]
Brooke: Is everything all right?
Katie: Yeah, it’s will. I mean, he’s fine. He’s better than fine. I just don’t really know what to say to him about his father. You know, I just keep hoping that bill is going to come to his senses or that I’m going to be able to say something to get through to him, but I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what happened to the man I thought I knew.
Brooke: So bill won’t listen to you at all?
Katie: He won’t listen to anybody. I can only imagine how difficult it’s been for you regarding will.
Katie: Well, I just try to keep things as vague as possible regarding his relationship with sheila. I mean, will adores his father. And no one, or at least I thought no one, was more important to bill than his children and his grandchildren. I mean, he would never want to cause his family any kind of pain. So I don’t understand it. Why is sheila carter suddenly so important to him?
Sheila: I just told you the worst thing I’ve ever done in my life.
Bill: Yeah, it took you long enough.
Sheila: [Scoffs] What?
Bill: You just told me your– your deepest, darkest secrets. It’s going to change everything.
Sheila: In a good way.
Bill: In the best way.
Ridge: Come on, spencer. Can you please keep it together?
Bill: I’ve always known exactly who you are. I’m going to keep my promise. I’m going to give you the future that you so richly deserve. [Laughs]
Bill: [Chuckles]
Ridge: Bill came through! He got sheila to confess. Tell me you got all that.
Chen: It’s all been recorded.
Ridge: Okay, good. She’s going away for murder one. Our plan worked.
Chen: It’s not over. We don’t have sheila in custody yet.
Sheila: Bill, if what i told you hasn’t changed your feelings about us, then why suddenly so quiet?
Bill: Oh, I’m, uh… I’m just thinking about the future, what’s ahead of us now. I am more pleased and relieved than you could ever imagine.
Sheila: Relieved? Relieved that I accepted your proposal? Did you think I might not?
Brooke: Well, you did, uh, you did hesitate. I wasn’t expecting that.
Sheila: It’s because no one has ever treated me the way that you do. I know our relationship, it’s unconventional, but I know that you love me. Are you worried about your family, how they might react?
Bill: Well, uh… my family has never really understood what’s going on here, but hopefully now they will.
Sheila: [Laughs] Do you think that there might be a chance that they accept us? Because that would be worth a celebration.
Bill: Oh, yeah. Yeah, I see a tremendous celebration on the horizon. But right now, that’s just one thing I have to take care of. I promise I’ll be right back.
Sheila: Okay.
Bill: You just stay put.
[Door opens, closes]
Katie: If I thought I could talk some sense into bill, I would be over at the house right now.
Brooke: Gosh. No, you can’t do that. Talking to him is pointless. He can’t even say one word when sheila’s in the room.
Katie: He just lets her rant and rave, and he barely makes eye contact.
Brooke: It’s so strange, right?
Katie: He’s the most assertive person I’ve ever met in my entire life. But with her, suddenly he’s so passive, it’s–it’s unnerving.
Carter: Hey. Seems like you guys are having a serious meeting. Is everything okay?
Katie: Yeah, we’re just, you know, talking about bill and sheila.
Carter: Something happen?
Brooke: No, that’s the problem. Nothing’s happened. Nothing’s changed at all.
Katie: Bill is as inscrutable as ever, and we don’t understand it. I mean, the man that we have known is just–he’s like a shell of himself.
Brooke: We just have to hope and pray that bill wakes up one day and makes sheila pay for her crimes.
Bill: Tell me you got that.
Ridge: Yes, we did. We got all of it. Congratulations. It’s a lot of work, but we got it done.
Bill: The whole confession, names, everything?
Chen: Agent chen here. Affirmative, bill. Good work, but you’re not done. It’s critical you keep sheila at the estate until my team reaches your location.
Bill: Don’t worry. I can handle sheila. We got her. We finally got her.
Sheila: You got me? Who are you talking to, bill? (Terrie) if you’re a smoker.
Carter: There is no question that bill is not himself, allowing sheila to dictate his life.
Brooke: Who’s allowed in the house, and how we’re supposed to speak to her when we’re there?
Katie: All his protective instincts are pointed in the wrong direction.
Brooke: He’s not even looking out for himself.
Carter: I mean, the woman shot her own son. She left finn in that alley to die. She’s not someone bill can trust.
Katie: He’s always been a risk taker. He thrives on danger and excitement, but this is beyond reckless.
Carter: Is that the attraction? He likes playing with fire?
Katie: I don’t think so. He doesn’t seem to be getting any kind of thrill out of this.
Carter: Okay, so then is it penance for hurting you and brooke?
Katie: I thought that might be the case at first, but then we would have been able to talk him out of this. One thing is for sure, the longer this goes on, the more danger we’re all in. Especially bill.
Sheila: You finally got me. Who were you talking to on the phone? Tell me, bill. You weren’t talking about our engagement, our marriage, our future, were you?
Bill: Our marriage? [Chuckles] Our–our future? This great love story, you and me? The woman who shot steffy and finn, the vicious criminal who tried to kill my granddaughter’s mother?
Sheila: Criminal? You think… you asked me to be your wife? You put this ring on my finger, and you professed your love over and over again. We made love in your bed. You told me your deepest, darkest secrets, your feelings. You shared that with me.
Bill: No, no, no. You shared your deepest crimes with me.
Sheila: No way. What you’re saying, it just doesn’t make any sense.
Bill: Doesn’t it, though? Everything I’ve said, everything I’ve done, sacrificed, it all finally does make sense, sheila. Come on, now. I know you’re delusional, but it’s got to be sinking in. The lie that I’ve been living for months, the acting challenge of a lifetime. Pretending to defend you, care about you, love you.
Ridge: You had to overplay it didn’t you? Don’t let her get away.
[Running footsteps on audio]
Bill: You’re not getting out of this.
Sheila: You never even wanted me here.
Bill: When you leave, it’ll be in cuffs.
Sheila: You lied to me. You told me you loved me.
Bill: Oh, yeah. Falling in love with a psycho was number one on my bucket list.
Sheila: No, no, because if you wanted me locked up, you could have had me arrested on the beach that night.
Bill: Oh, you mean that night when you just happened to find me moping in the dark, drinking away my sorrows, all alone at il giardino?
Sheila: You were in pain. You were lost and hurting. Oh, my god.
Bill: Is the light going on? Is it? Was I lost and hurting? Or was I waiting for you to take the bait? It was a set up from the beginning. A sting to get you to confess, to pour your black heart out [Mocking] To the only man who truly understood you. [Regular voice] You finally did. Took me months. Had to put a ring on your finger, but I got you. That poor lance kid, he’s gonna get his justice. His killer is going to be locked up for good.
Sheila: No, no, because this is not happening.
Bill: You confessed, sheila. Murder one. You’re going to prison for the rest of your life, and you will never hurt my family or anyone else ever again. Your reign of terror is over. You hear me? It’s over, bitch!
Brooke: So it doesn’t bother carter that you’re so worried about bill?
Katie: Carter’s worried, too.
Brooke: You can’t let it impact your relationship. When it’s new like this, the stress can…
Katie: He’s been a rock for me. He’s been so supportive and understanding.
Brooke: Okay. I’m glad.
Katie: I’ve really needed it, too, because this whole situation with bill and sheila has made me feel a little crazy.
Brooke: You’re not crazy. Bill is the crazy one. He’s hurting everybody that he says he cares about.
Katie: And for no reason. I don’t know. I just can’t help but think that there’s got to be something more to this. It can’t just be about protecting sheila. There’s got to be something we’re missing.
Brooke: What?
Katie: I don’t know. But the man I fell in love with, the father of my son, wouldn’t do something like this. I just have to believe that the real bill is in there somewhere… just waiting to come out.
Sheila: I never… terrorized you, bill. I cared about you.
Bill: Every moment I spent with you was pure anguish. But I couldn’t give in to my revulsion. I needed you to confess.
Sheila: You can’t prove anything. There’s–there’s no evidence. No one knows what I said, so it’s your word against mine.
Bill: Well, that–that would be a problem if every incriminating word you spoke hadn’t been recorded. Yes, this whole house is bugged. There are cameras, recording devices, here, there, everywhere. As a matter of fact, why don’t you give your best smile and wave to ridge and agent chen from the fbi?
Sheila: Ridge was a part of all of this?
Bill: Oh, look, yeah. You know how those dress designers can be, holding a grudge when you try and kill their daughter? You shot steffy and left her for dead!
Ridge: And now you’re gonna pay.
Bill: You think ridge was going to let you get away with that? No. We were never alone here. You were never safe. I never cared about you. It was all an act with the fbi watching and listening to every word you said, building their case around you, just waiting for you to open up. Don’t even think about running. The authorities are on their way. They’re going to cuff you and drag your ass out of here and lock you away for the rest of your miserable life.
Sheila: What about everything you said to me? To brooke, to katie, your sons?
Bill: Well, you know, I don’t want to be a braggart, pat myself on the back, but I was pretty good. They actually believed that I had fallen under your spell. See, I had to convince them to convince you. I had to burn every bridge.
Sheila: And they hate you for that!
Bill: Not as much as I hate you! It killed me. Having to listen to you fawn over me. Made me want to puke. Having to hug you, hold you, caress you. Have–have you… in my…in my bed.
Sheila: You call me a monster. The only way that this despicable plan could even work is if I’m not one. All I ever wanted was to be loved, to… have someone show me some compassion, some understanding. And what did you do? You used me, bill. You used me!
Bill: Yes. You are damn right, I did. Who could ever love something like you?
Sheila: My son. He wanted to know me. My own flesh and blood. If steffy hadn’t poisoned him against me–
Bill: Just shut up! Stop blaming everyone else for what you’ve done. Now everyone knows. Everyone knows exactly how criminal and murderous you are. You confessed. First degree murder. No one comes back from that. You are going to prison for the rest of your life. You will never, never be a free woman again.
Sheila: No! [Shrieking]
Ridge: No!
Sheila: [Yells]
