Taylor: Yeah, well today is the big day, we’re finally going to be rid of sheila forever. What time are you meeting with the judge?
Steffy: Um, ah, it’s later than we thought. We’re going to leave right after you.
Taylor: Okay, I’ll get out of here. But don’t forget what baker said. Your testimony’s are going to be crucial in sheila being put away forever. You know, I am so proud of you. I’m so proud of both of you. I know this isn’t easy. I know, but it’s necessary. Justice will be served and sheila will be locked up where she belongs.
Bill: So, we’re all set then? Good.
Sheila: I’m confused though, my attorney didn’t say anything about a meeting before the hearing today. Why does he want to see me?
Guard 1: It’s not your attorney who wants an audience with your majesty.
[ Buzzing ]Th
Deacon: I would’ve been here sooner but I just got back from out of town. We can talk about that later.
Guards 1: Sit. Now, you both know the rules. No touching or it’s back to your cell.
[ Buzzing ]
Deacon: God, I hate to see you in here, back behind bars, handcuffed. Sheila, I’m so sorry.
Sheila: You don’t need to be sorry. And this had nothing to do with you.
Deacon: Yeah, I know, but it’s like all the times that I told you that this is where you’d wind up, that it was only a matter of time. I got to admit, there was a– there was a little part of me that was betting that you were going to beat the odds.
Sheila: Maybe I have.
Deacon: Sweetheart, take a look around. This place is locked up tighter than fort knox. Houdini, on his best day, couldn’t escape.
Sheila: Yeah, I’m aware.
Deacon: So what? That means that you’ve just accepted the fact that you’re going to be in prison for a long time?
Taylor: Hey there, did you miss me?
Brooke: Taylor, you’re back.
Taylor: I just got in last night. How are you?
Brooke: Happy to see you.
Taylor: Happy to see you, too. Uh, a lot has changed since I’ve been gone.
Brooke: Oh, yes. If you’re talking about sheila.
Taylor: Yeah, I was– I was so happy when steffy called me and told me about sheila’s arrest.
Brooke: I feel the same.
Taylor: You know, I– I wasn’t sure that this day would ever come, ever. But here we are. Today is the day. Sheila is in custody, and she’s finally going to pay for all the terrible things she’s done.
Sheila: I want to thank you for coming to see me. I know this isn’t your favorite place to be.
Deacon: Yeah well, that’s true. I’ve been thinking about you a lot, you know, since you were arrested. By the way, thanks for not ratting me out.
Sheila: After everything you did for me, I really, I– I’m never going to be able to repay you.
Deacon: You already have by not saying anything. So, how they treating you in here?
Sheila: Like royalty.
Deacon: It’s good to see you haven’t lost your sense of humor. But I’m worried about you.
Sheila: That’s sweet. I’m gonna be okay.
Deacon: Still hoping for a miracle, huh?
Sheila: Yeah, well, you never know.
Deacon: Wow, you know, I expected to come here and find you down in the dumps, and you’re not. Unless this is all an act for my benefit.
Sheila: No. No, it’s not an act.
Deacon: Okay, then I’d like to ask you a question. What the hell were you doing going to spencer’s house that night? You knew the minute that he saw you, he’d call the cops.
Finn: You okay?
Steffy: Are you?
Finn: Well, neither one of us got much sleep last night.
Steffy: For good reason. If we don’t go along with bill, my mom goes to jail. And if we do, sheila’s free. It’s– it’s unthinkable.
Finn: I just still will never understand. Like, how did sheila get to bill in this way?
Steffy: I don’t know. And I honestly, I don’t care if– if bill feels abandoned and hurt. To allow someone like sheila carter into his life. I mean, you heard my mom, she is so excited about her future. My god, all this could be taken away if we agree to testify against sheila today.
Without the right start
to your day…
Taylor: I mean, of all the possible scenarios, bill was the one that apprehended sheila.
Brooke: I know, but then bill does love playing the hero.
[ Laughing ]
Taylor: Well, you know, he wasn’t really playing this time because sheila showed up at his house and he immediately turned her in. In my book, that’s a real hero.
Brooke: Mine, too.
Taylor: Yeah.
Brooke: You know, katie went over to see him and to tell him how grateful we all are for what he did.
Taylor: Oh, that’s sweet. I’m sure he appreciated that.
Brooke: Yeah, you’d think so.
Taylor: But he didn’t?
Brooke: Katie said he seemed genuinely surprised that she was there to thank him. Almost like he’s an afterthought. Like, we really don’t care about him. Which is not true.
Taylor: Oh, of course not. I’m sorry about that, I– I’m not close with bill spencer, you know, given our complicated history and all. But, you know, I hope whatever it is, I hope it works out. You know, it’s because of bill that– that sheila’s going to be out of our lives, especially after steffy and finn talk to the judge today.
Steffy: It’s my dad. He wants to be there with us today.
Finn: What did you tell him?
Steffy: Not to come. He’s been traveling, doing some soul searching, especially after what happened with my mom and brooke. Besides, he should not be here. Bill hates my dad, and if he is here it’s just going to incite bill to–
Finn: No, that’s– that’s the last thing we need.
Steffy: Yeah, exactly.
Finn: Do you think he’s just going to do as you ask?
Steffy: You know my dad. He supports his family, but since he thinks he already knows what we’re going to say, he’s not pushing to be here.
Finn: Well, do we know what we’re going to say? Because I’ve got to tell you, steffy, as much as I love you and your mother, the thought of caving to spencer, not testifying to make sure sheila remains behind bars. That’s what I’m struggling with here.
Steffy: I know, I am so sorry I put you in this position.
Finn: No, they… you didn’t put me in this position. Spencer did. He can call it whatever he wants, but it’s still blackmail and blackmailing my wife, threatening to throw her mother in jail. That’s– I don’t know how I’ll ever look like that guy without total contempt, no matter what we say today.
Steffy: I know and we should, uh, we should get going. I know this is wishful thinking, but there’s still some time for bill to come to his senses and realize what he’s doing is wrong. No one deserves to get justice served more than sheila carter.
Deacon: Seriously, what were you thinking? Hightailing it to bill spencer’s place, asking him for help? I mean, did you honestly think there was a snowball’s chance in hell that that would even happen? All right, look, it doesn’t matter. All right, what’s done is done. What matters is– is what happens going forward, right? I hear you’re going to see the judge later today.
Sheila: Yes.
Deacon: You gotta to be dreading that. Oh, come on sheila, you don’t have to put on a brave face for me. Finn and steffy, they’re going to make you out to be hannibal lecter’s spawn. They are going to detail every horrible thing that you did to their families. I just want you to know that you’re not alone. I’m not going to abandon you, even if everyone else has. I mean, there’s not much that I can do with you in here. Come visit you, you know. I’ll keep you up on what’s going on in the outside, and we’ll have to do it on the down low, but… I know that you said that– that this isn’t over. That the best was yet to come. But, I’m afraid this is the end of the line. Postmenopausal women with hr+ her2-
Sheila: I can see and hear your concern. And it’s– it’s sweet. But it’s like I said before, deacon. Everyone has always underestimated me.
Deacon: Yeah, including yours truly, at first. But sheila, I mean, you’re back behind bars. You’re going to be seeing the judge in a few. And look… I don’t wanna– I don’t want to make things more difficult. Okay, that’s not why I came.
Sheila: But then, why– why don’t you tell me. Why did you come?
Deacon: I had to see you. I had to tell you that I– I really enjoyed our time together. And I care about you.
Sheila: I care about you, too. Who knows, I mean, if– if things had been different. Maybe we would’ve had a chance.
Guard 1: Okay, you two, got to wrap it up.
Deacon: Listen, despite this brave facade, I know you’ve got to be scared. I know because I’ve been where you are. I’ve been locked up. I’ve been away from the people that I love, I know. Look, I’m gonna come visit you so you don’t feel so alone. Sheila, I’m never gonna turn my back on you, I promise.
Guard 1: Rise.
[ Buzzing ]
Sheila: Bye.
Deacon: Bye.
Steffy: Oh, my god.
Finn: Look, the judge is on his way. What are we gonna do?
Steffy: I know what I want to do. I want sheila in jail for the rest of her life. But how can I make this happen? How can I risk my mother’s freedom? My god, if she knew what bill was doing right now…
Finn: By blackmailing us?
Steffy: My mom would sacrifice herself. She would go straight to the police. She would confess what she did to bill all those years ago. Bill, what are you doing here?
Bill: Hoping to put this behind us. Remind you of our deal.
Finn: Yeah, that’s all we’ve been thinking about for days.
Steffy: We hate that you’re putting us in this position.
Bill: Please keep your voices down and watch what you’re saying.
Finn: Look, even if steffy and I do what you want. What about my mother? Sheila terrorized her, ran her off the road, tried to kill her. She can just come forward–
Bill: Lee is going to have to be kept quiet. Now let’s not forget that she did sneak you out of a hospital and falsify medical records. That could have a negative impact on her career, not to mention jeopardizing her freedom.
Finn: So now you’re threatening my mother, too.
Steffy: Have you forgotten that sheila escaped prison? One way or the other she’s going to do the time.
Bill: All I’m telling you is I don’t want to hear a word out of you and finn today.
Steffy: You think you can handle this? This is impossible.
Bill: We should leave before the judge gets here. Remember, sheila’s freedom for your mother’s freedom. Do you like…
Taylor: I– I wish today was open to the public.
Brooke: I know.
Taylor: You know, I just– I just want to see sheila’s face. I want to see her face when they haul her away.
Brooke: Me, too. When I think of the immense heartache and suffering that she’s brought to all of our families, the fear, the fear that we’ve had to live with. I mean, I’m surprised we survived it all.
Taylor: Yeah, you know, I’ve– I’ve seen a lot of patients with varying degrees of challenges through my career, but, you know, I’ve treated them all successfully. Some who are even labeled untreatable. But sheila carter is– she actually is untreatable because she doesn’t think she needs to be treated. She doesn’t think anything’s wrong with her. I’m just really glad that she’s going to be locked away for the rest of her life, you know. Maybe she’ll get some help there. Just feels good to know that she’ll be– she’ll be put away securely, away from all of us. All thanks to steffy and finn.
Finn: Look, it’s almost time. We have to decide what we’re going to do.
Steffy: You heard bill. He’s not budging. Either we do what he wants, or… oh, my god, the man has lost it. He wants us to do unthinkable things. I mean, my mom made one mistake and she regrets it. But it pales in comparison to all the evil things sheila has done.
Sheila: Hello finn. Hello, steffy. Not even a hi?
Counsellor: Miss carter, I would advise you to keep your comments to yourself.
Sheila: We were asked to review my case before trial. I just hope you do what’s best for everyone, you both know why.
Judge: Sorry to keep everyone waiting. I apologize. Please be seated. I’m judge mcmillan. As I’m sure you’re all aware that we’re here today in this closed session to gather testimony and information regarding the case pertaining to a miss sheila carter. Does the counselor have any opening remarks?
Counsellor: No, your honor.
Judge: Very well, then. Um… thank you for being here today, dr. Finnegan. Ms. Forrester. Your testimony, along with your statements today will prove very crucial in this case. I’d like to begin with you, dr. Finnegan. From what I understand, ms. Carter, is your biological mother, a fact that you were unaware of until a year or so ago. Is that correct?
Finn: Uh, yes.
Judge: All right. Let’s get started doctor. Are you ready to proceed with the case regarding miss sheila carter?
