Justin: Well, just this clause. We determine the delivery schedule. We can’t afford any delays.
Carter: We all know how you like to take things slow.
Justin: Oh, yeah. I heard about the big news. So you and taylor are getting hitched, huh? Congratulations.
Ridge: Thank you.
Carter: Well, don’t let his subdued reaction fool you, justin. Taylor makes this guy as happy as I’ve ever seen him. Right? I mean, deep down, we both know you still love brooke.
Donna: You see it as clearly as I see it.
Eric: Yes, I do. I mean, ridge– ridge is never going to stop loving brooke, but he’s chosen to make his future with taylor and so here we are.
Donna: And your family wants to celebrate that. I get that, but I– I can’T. Not when brooke is in so much pain.
Eric: I know. I understand.
Donna: It’s gonna be a really rough night for brooke.
Eric: Come home after, though.
Donna: Of course. Yes. But I’m not going to be able to make it to the wedding tomorrow, eric. As much as it pains me not to see my honey bear in his tux, so debonair.

Donna: Okay.
Eric: And tell brooke I’m sorry.

Steffy: I think it’s for the best. It’s taken a long time for my parents to get back together. You need to be focused on each other. Nothing is gonna interfere with this wedding.
Thomas: Hey, bud. Why aren’t you dressed for the party?
Douglas: I’m not going.
Thomas: Hey, we’re all going. It’s a big family dinner. You love those.
Douglas: I know, but I hate lying to everybody about the real reason my granddad and grandma brooke aren’t together. Don’t they need to know?
Eric: Well, we seem to be missing a few forrester’s here.
Steffy: Dad is wrapping up some work at the office.
Finn: Yeah. Didn’t you say, zende, he’s out of town?
Steffy: Yeah. He’s making a great impression with the east coast buyers.
Eric: I’m sure he is.
Taylor: You know, I’m surprised that douglas and thomas haven’t made an appearance.
Steffy: I’m sure douglas is getting ready. On an occasion like this, I’m sure he wants to look his best
Taylor: You’re right. That’s my grandson. Always wanting to make his family proud.
Eric: Hmm.
Douglas: We always tell the truth.
Thomas: Okay. Look, getting upset, it isn’t gonna help anything. Especially tonight. So the best thing you can do is just put it out of your mind.
Douglas: But, dad, you made it sound like grandma brooke was the one trying to call those people, but it was you. You used my app to change your voice to hers.
Thomas: Yeah. You know, this– this whole thing is just a very complicated adult situation.
Douglas: But now granddad thinks grandma brooke wanted them to take me away from you.
Thomas: She did want to take you away from me. She doesn’t want you living with me. She doesn’t think you’re safe here. But I know you’re safe here and you know you’re safe here. Your granddad is actually happier with grandma taylor. Okay? So there’s nothing, nothing at all to feel guilty about here.
Douglas: But grandma brooke didn’t do anything.
Thomas: Your grandma brooke has been trying to keep our family apart for years. I don’t want to talk bad about your grandma to you. Grandma taylor and your grandpa, they’re in love. Okay? So nothing at all should stop this wedding from going forward. Do you understand?
Ridge: I’m not denying that. I still love brooke. I never will.
Carter: But you’re not married anymore. So what happened? What changed?
Brooke’s voice: Hello. I’d like to report a child in danger. His name is douglas forrester.
>>Agent: And your name, ma’am?
Brooke’s voice: Brooke logan. Please hurry.
Ridge: What are you doing? I’m getting married tomorrow. Why are you talking about brooke?
Justin: Ridge, taylor is an amazing woman, but from what I’m picking up on, if you still have feelings for brooke, hey, that’s something to think about.
Ridge: You too? Really?
Carter: If you don’t want to talk about it, we can drop it.
Ridge: I don’T.
Carter: Fine. I know it wasn’t a simple decision for you. I don’t want to complicate things, but as your friend, I have to ask, are you sure about this? Are you really going through with this wedding?
Brooke: I was just about to ask the same thing.
Ridge: Would you excuse us, please?
Brooke: So is it true? Is this really happening? You’re going to marry taylor tomorrow? If advanced lung cancer
Katie: Brooke is in with ridge right now?
Carter: Yes. And please tell me she already knew about the wedding.
Katie: Why?
Carter: Because no one should overhear news like that, I’d never forgive myself.
Katie: You don’t owe my sister an apology. Ridge owes her an apology, along with an explanation as to why this is happening. Something that might make sense.
Carter: Well, if he has one, I haven’t heard it.
Katie: You’re his best friend.
Carter: He’s been pushing me out. I’m concerned. I mean, he says this is what he wants, but, I just– I don’t know. It doesn’t make any sense. Taylor’s incredible. Right, they have a connection, but what he has with your sister, katie, is not over. He still loves br–
Katie: Of course he does. Yes, he does. I mean. They were just reuniting. They were talking about their future together and how they’ve overcome all of these recent obstacles. And now he wants an annulment and he’s pledging his life to taylor tomorrow. Why? Why?
Thomas: Okay. Alright. You, um, you actually look great, but we could put a smile on your face. Come on. It’s a happy occasion. There you go. Okay.
Taylor: Oh, there they are!
Eric: Hey!
Taylor: Hi.
Eric: Oh, wow. Don’t you look dapper.
Taylor: So handsome.
Douglas: Thanks.
Taylor: And if ridge gets here, we can get this party started.
Thomas: Right? Yes.
Brooke: This is why you wanted the annulment?
Ridge: I really should be going.
Brooke: No, please don’t run from me, ridge, please–
Ridge: I’m not running from you. I’m going to dad’S. He’s– he’s got a little party or dinner or something.
Brooke: A rehearsal dinner?
Ridge: Something like that.
Ridge: I’m sorry. I never meant to hurt you.
Brooke: I just need you to be honest with me.
Ridge: Honest? Yeah, well, that needs to go both ways.
Brooke: I don’t even know what that means.
Ridge: Why are we doing this again? That’s not– we’ve done this already. We had a beautiful life together. It was amazing, but it turned out we couldn’t give each other what we needed.
Brooke: Ridge, we can if we try.
Ridge: It’s too late, the papers are signed, it’s done.
Brooke: I don’t give a damn about the papers. I didn’t want to sign the papers. I did that to make you happy. I love you and I know you love me.
Ridge: I have to go.
Brooke: No, ridge. Just tell me, please. You’re really marrying taylor?
Ridge: You know what I want? I want you to have everything you ever desired in your life. I want you to have peace and happiness, and know that I will always love you. Cats really know how to do… less,
Katie: Hey, pam said that ridge left. Oh. Are you okay?
Brooke: I shouldn’t have come here. I don’t know what I was thinking.
Katie: Well, what happened? Did you and ridge argue?
Brooke: No, he told me how much he loves me. And then he walked out that door to be with taylor and his other family.
Donna: Oh, brooke.
Brooke: I mean, it’s– it’s really happening.
Donna: And you tried to talk ridge out of it?
Brooke: Yeah. I tried to talk some sense into him. I told him how much I love him and that I want a future with him. It didn’t really matter. He’s marrying taylor tomorrow.
Taylor: It’s– it’s perfect, eric. Thank you. They’re beautiful.
Eric: These flowers are all from stephanie’s garden. She would have wanted to be a part of this so much.
Taylor: Yeah.
Eric: She loved you.
Taylor: And I loved her, too. Thank you, eric. Thank you so much. This is so beautiful. I couldn’t have asked for anything more special. And I’m sure ridge would feel the same.
Steffy: I wonder where he could be. Thomas, why don’t you give him a call?
Thomas: You know what, my phone is actually upstairs, uh–
Eric: You know, we’ve already started this party without him.
Ridge: No. A party without me, you wouldn’t do that.
Thomas: Hey, dad, good to see you.
Finn: My wife was getting impatient.
Ridge: Shocker.
Steffy: It took you long enough.
Ridge: Well, I’ll tell you what. Tomorrow– hey! Tomorrow I’ll be on time, I promise.
Taylor: Yes, you better be.
Ridge: Sorry.
Eric: You got, uh– you got caught up at work?
Ridge: Yeah, something I had to take care of.
Thomas: Well, you know, that doesn’t really matter because you’re here now.
Ridge: Thank you very much.
Thomas: With your family and with the woman you’re going to spend the rest of your life with.
Eric: And may that life be filled with laughter and love.
Finn: Hear, hear.
Thomas: Hey, you know what? If we’re doing toasts, then I’d like to give one.
Steffy: Shouldn’t we wait until the wedding?
Thomas: No, you know what? I have been waiting my entire life for this, so I think I’m going to go ahead and get it out there. Uh, can you imagine that? Wanting something for your entire life and then finally having it happen right in front of you. And I– I can’t express how happy I am. We all know how incredible their relationship is. We can feel the love in this room, right? There’s no stronger love than between the two of you because this is the kind of love that– that endures. It’s the kind of love that doesn’t come and go with passing emotions. It’s true love and that kind of love, you need to– you need to protect because it’s precious.
Ridge: Oh, yes. Your mother’s precious. She’s– one of a kind.
Steffy: She’s perfect.
Thomas: Yes. And there is no one more devoted to you than her. I mean, honestly, I’ve never met, uh, someone who is as loyal and as honest as our mother. You know, she– she’ll never disappoint you, and she’ll never let you down.
Taylor: I will drink to that.
Thomas: Alright.
Ridge: Me too. Nice job.
Thomas: To mom and dad.
Taylor: Thank you.
Ridge: Cheers.
Eric: Nicely done.
Taylor: Thank you.
Finn: That’s gonna be tough to beat.
Steffy: I think my brother spoke for all of us.
Eric: I think I’d like to hear from the groom. No, really, I can see how much the two of you love each other. And I– I celebrate that. And I respect how much you want to have your family together. The fact is, I just don’t know exactly how it happened– how all this happened. Your heart is the beat of life.
Donna: I told eric that I would be home later, but I can stay here. You know what? I– I can even move in with you for a little while, if you need that.
Brooke: No, no, thank you. It’s not necessary.
Katie: We’re not gonna let you go through this alone. If you need to lean on us, we’re here.
>>Donna: Yeah.
Brooke: Thanks. I just can’t believe this is happening.
Donna: Nobody can. I mean, even eric is stunned.
Katie: Has ridge said anything to him? I mean, given him any idea why this is happening?
Donna: Nothing. No. Nothing.
Brooke: It’s just really strange. We’ve always been able to communicate and even if we were apart, I always knew what he was thinking and feeling. And now, I– I don’t even know what happened. I mean, it can’t fix it if I don’t know what went wrong.
Katie: He won’t tell you?
Brooke: No, not even now, the night before his wedding. He won’t tell me why he ended our marriage.
Katie: This is just crazy. It’s insane.
Donna: Ridge is just making a big mistake.
Brooke: Maybe I made the mistake signing those annulment papers. I didn’t know he was going to rush into another marriage.
Katie: No, no. You did the only thing that you could do.
Brooke: I mean, ridge and I are really deeply connected. And I believe that our bond was unbreakable. I thought this time we were going to be together. Forever.
[ Sighs ]
Eric: Look, this is all happening so quickly. I– I’m just curious. What set it in motion?
Ridge: Why do you do that?
Eric: Wh– what?
Ridge: None of this was quick. This wasn’t– come on, I– I think he needs to know the whole story. I’m sorry.
Taylor: What?
Ridge: You know, there- there was a moment. Yes, a definite moment when I woke up, but that was after years and years of my kids telling me over and over again that– that a real relationship needs to have honesty and– and loyalty. Do you remember when child services came to your house looking for douglas? You remember that?
Eric: Yeah. Of course I do. Okay?
Steffy: Dad, what does this have to do with your wedding?
Taylor: Well, I’m just curious who made that call.
Ridge: Well, I’m not curious at all because I know who made the call. Thomas knows who made the call. We’ve known for weeks.
Steffy: Who was it? Who had the audacity to do something like this?
Ridge: Brooke. Brooke called child services on my son. That was the moment. Douglas, I’m sorry and you shouldn’t have to hear this. I don’t– I don’t get it. I’m sure you don’t get it either.
Thomas: You know what, douglas, maybe– maybe you should probably go upstairs.
>>Douglas: No.
Steffy: Brooke wanted to take douglas away from his father?
Finn: Why?
Taylor: Wow, this is shocking.
Eric: Wait, I don’t get this. Brooke made this call? I mean, I know she has issues with thomas, but she would never call child services on him.
Eric: Are you sure?
Ridge: Am I sure? Yeah, I’m sure.
Eric: How do you know? How do you know?
Ridge: Because I heard her voice. Thomas heard her voice. It was her, there’s no doubt.
