Ridge: I don’t want to have any secrets between us.
Brooke: Okay.
Ridge: And that’s what that would be. An intimate moment with another woman. I– I just, I don’t–
Brooke: So taylor kissed you.
Ridge: We kissed each other.
Brooke: Ah. Yeah. It’s mutual.
Ridge: But it’s– it’s not… finn and steffy just found their way back to each other in monaco. And steffy’s life is back on track and just, it was… I know it sounds stupid but it was the joy of it all and we just got caught up in it.
Brooke: Yeah. So, you sealed it with a kiss.
Taylor: Did you get the kids to sleep?
Steffy: Yeah. I just– it amazes me how fast they go down, like a sudden energy drain.
Taylor: Yeah, you’re so lucky. You know, you and phoebe and thomas fought bedtime like crazy. The more ridge and I tried to get you to go down, the more hyper you all got.
Steffy: Good times.
Taylor: The best.
Steffy: You know, they don’t have to be behind us. What happened between you and dad in monaco proves it. Was that what you were thinking about when I just walked in?
[ Knock on door ]
Hope: It’s open!
Thomas: Hey.
Hope: Hey.
Thomas: It’s, uh, nice not having all that extra security outside now that we finally don’t have to worry about sheila.
Hope: Huh, seriously.
Thomas: You got a sec?
Hope: Hmm. Yeah, what’s up?
Thomas: I’m here to talk about douglas.
Deacon: Mmm. I gotta tell you, buddy, it is good to be back on this side of the bar.
Bartender: You know, deacon, you might want to just–
Deacon: Eh, eh, all right, I gotta binge drink every once in a while, all right? All work and no play makes deacon a dull boy. Can’t have that.
Bartender: Hey, did you hear the news about sheila carter? She’s dead.
Deacon: Unbelievable. Killed by a bear. You know, that’s probably the only thing that could take sheila carter out. What a way to go.
Bartender: Hey, you might want to slow down.
Deacon: All right, all right. Who are you, my mother?
Bartender: Look, I’m just trying to look out for my boy. Didn’t you say you had a big day tomorrow?
Deacon: What are you talking about?
Bartender: Well, I might’ve gotten the dates wrong, but didn’t you say you had a meeting with your parole officer?
Deacon: Oh! Mmm. Yes. Thank you for reminding me. Yes.
Bartender: Okay, so I’m wondering is it really a good idea for you to be knocking them back like this?
Deacon: I’m fine. I’m fine. I’ll get back on the straight and narrow. Which, by the way, is who I am 99% of the time. Trust me. Day in and day out. I’m not a saint here, so every now and then, I might revert. But trust me, I’m not going to jeopardize what I have, you know. What I’ve managed to build. Got a roof over my head, albeit here. Got the love and respect of my daughter. Her mother doesn’t hate seeing me every time. And, uh, I’d be a fool to screw that up, do anything that would wind me up back in prison.
Thomas: I hope this isn’t a bad time.
Hope: Actually, I’m kind of in the middle of something.
Thomas: Okay, well, it won’t take long. The first thing I want to say is, look, I’m not trying to upset you or frustrate you in any way, all right? But I meant what I said before. Douglas should live with me, his father.
Steffy: You know what I think?
[ Taylor laughing]
Taylor: I’m sure you’re gonna tell me.
Steffy: I am.
[ Taylor laughing ]
Steffy: That kiss you shared with dad? It’s probably on his mind too.
Taylor: Yeah, probably. But I’m sure that brooke is doing everything she can to keep all his attention.
Steffy: Not for long.
Taylor: You know, I don’t know if I should be inspired by your single minded optimism for your father and me or if I should be completely exhausted.
Steffy: Do both.
[ Taylor chuckling ] You know, it’s pretty crazy that you and thomas are kind of in similar situations. He needs douglas and you need dad.
Brooke: To say I’m thrown, well, I mean, I never expected you and taylor to be kissing. I guess I’m just naive.
Ridge: It wasn’t planned. It just happened. It– it came out of the joy of– of seeing my daughter.
Brooke: Ridge, I mean, I understand what it’s like getting caught up in something. But this is a little different. This isn’t just some stranger. I mean, she used to be your wife. You were married to her. You had children with her. So there were feelings there. I appreciate you being honest with me, but I’m going to be honest with you right now. To hear about this, it–
[ Brooke sighing ] I mean, it– it hurts. I’m just disappointed.
Frank is a fan of fast.

Bartender: Prison. I can’t imagine what that’s like.
Deacon: Something tells me that you wouldn’t like it very much.
Bartender: Maybe you should call it a night. You’ve had enough, all right? Go home and get all fresh and shiny for your parole officer tomorrow.
Deacon: Hey, come here. The redhead over there is burning a hole in me. Eh, maybe it’s just wishful thinking because I’ve got to be honest, it’s been a while since daddy’s had any action.
Bartender: No, no, no, no, no. I’m definitely feeling the vibe.
Hope: I really don’t want to get into this right now, so if–
Thomas: Yeah, okay, you made that clear, but we have joint custody, all right? We need to talk about this. Things can’t stay the way that they are.
Hope: Why not? Why not? Things have worked out beautifully. I mean, douglas, he’s happy.
Thomas: Yeah. He is. And– and I’m so grateful to you and liam for giving him this solid foundation when I couldn’t, all right? But I have to take a bigger role in my son’s upbringing.
Hope: Thomas, you know you have access to douglas when– whenever you want.
Thomas: And so can you, all right? But things have to change. I need to be douglas’ primary parent.
Hope: But we can’t just uproot him. This is his home.
Thomas: Yeah, and douglas can spend as much time here as he wants. Look, I know how much douglas loves you, but he loves me too. He misses me. You heard him. And I miss him. We need to be together.
Taylor: I got a text from thomas earlier. He was on his way to hope’s to talk about douglas’ living situation.
Steffy: Oh, that’s good. The sooner thomas and douglas are settled in, the better. I mean, it should have happened a long time ago.
Taylor: Yeah, but he just wanted to make sure his head was in the right place. This is a big decision.
Steffy: Douglas’ well-being is most important.
Taylor: Yeah. Yeah, it is. I’m– I’m so proud of thomas for the way he’s moved through all his challenges. He’s– he’s come back stronger and wiser.
Steffy: I know. It’s time for thomas to be with his son. Douglas needs to be back with his family, just like dad needs to be with you.
Taylor: Well, as for ridge and brooke, even though they’re not technically “back together”, he’s still married to her.
Steffy: Yeah, but you two kissed. And what I’m picking up on, it was pretty good.
Taylor: Mm, not exactly. It was epic.
Steffy: Mom.
[ Taylor laughing ]
Brooke: The mental image of you and taylor kissing, well, it bothers me. Yeah. It hurts. But I can understand, ridge. Really, you guys just got caught up in the joy of everything that was going on.
Ridge: We did. It must have been incredible. You were there, and you found out that finn was alive and– and he reunited with steffy and you– you saw her depression lift. So for you and taylor, that must have been incredibly intense.
Ridge: It’s the most amazing thing. The most amazing day.
Brooke: Wow. Okay. Um, so you kissed. And it was mutual. I have to ask, what kind of a kiss was it? Age-related macular degeneration may lead to severe vision loss.
Deacon: I don’t think we’re ready for new remodelling yet. Hmm, can’t afford that. Sure as hell…
[ Knocking on door ] Lady, I don’t know who you are but I sure would like to know what’s on your mind. Really?
Hope: Please, spend as much time with your son as you want, but don’t– don’t change the living situation because of that. Don’t change what he knows.
Thomas: Okay, hope, this isn’t some impulsive move on my part. I’ve thought about this for a long time. It wasn’t just because of what douglas said, though that did make my decision final. I’ve already spoken with my granddad and he’s happy to have us over at the family home.
Hope: So eric supports you uprooting douglas?
Thomas: He knows it’s time for my son to be with me. To be with our family, to be living as a forrester. And more importantly, he knows it’s time for me to be a 24/7 dad to my son.
Steffy: I am certain this kiss meant something to dad. You shared something special in monaco.
Taylor: We sure did. Our mutual happiness for you, my love.
Steffy: Okay, sure, that was the catalyst, but you guys could’ve just hugged it out. Instead you had this, like, epic kiss. Mom, this is what you’ve wanted. You have a real chance with dad. You need to take charge. Go out there. Fight for him.
Ridge: What kind of kiss was it? I don’t know. I don’t understand. What do you– it was– it was real.
Brooke: Oh, okay, it was real. So, does that mean you have real feelings for taylor?
Ridge: No. I don’t– I, well, I, no, I– I do have– yes, I have feelings for her, she–
Brooke: Yes?
Ridge: Yes! She’s the mother of my children, I was married to her, of course I have feelings for her. But this is not– not like the feelings I have for you. The– I love you more than anything.
[ Brooke laughing ]
Brooke: Well, I love you more than anything.
Ridge: Yeah?
Brooke: Yeah. Mm. Okay, look. I know that you have forgiven me for a lot of kisses. So I am going to forgive you for this one kiss with taylor.
Ridge: Okay.
Brooke: Mm-hm.
Ridge: And thank you.
Brooke: So, it’s settled. We’re just moving right on, right? Just moving on. There is something else that I need to talk to you about. It’s thomas. And his role in douglas’ life.

Deacon: All right. Come on. [Indistinct]
Thomas: Look, I am grateful to you and to liam for giving douglas this amazing home to live in. But thinking of liam as douglas’ full-time father figure, I just– I– I can’t do it. Look, nothing against liam. He’s a nice guy. And– and he’s treated douglas well.
Hope: He’s treated douglas like his own.
Thomas: Right, and that’s the problem. Douglas is my son. I know that this probably comes as a surprise to you, but you had to know this day would come eventually. In any case, I want douglas to spend the night with me, over at granddad’s tomorrow night.
Hope: Just like that, no further discussion? Don’t you think we should get liam involved and talk logistics, or–
Thomas: Look, for a very long time, I have allowed you and liam to make decisions on douglas’ behalf and with basically no input from me, all right? But that has to change. I hope you can understand. Please don’t fight me on this.
Steffy: Don’t let this possibility of you and dad just slip away. The one thing I’ve learned recently is that nothing is forever. You have to take every minute with the people that you love. Please just don’t give up on dad.
Taylor: I won’T. I’m done be passive and minding my manners. I believe in ridge and me.
Brooke: I wanted to talk to you about thomas’ plans for douglas.
Ridge: Okay. That’s good because I want to talk to you about that too. Thomas has moved into my dad’s house and he wants douglas to be part of that and I support it.
Brooke: What? No. Douglas has been living with hope and liam now for a very long time and thomas signed off on that.
Ridge: He signed off on it because he was in a bad place. You know he was. And he’s better now. He is. I mean, you see him. He’s focused. And not just on work but on the one thing, the most important thing in his life and that’s his relationship with his son.
Brooke: Okay. I have seen them together. They have a nice relationship. They’re bonded. And my daughter certainly hasn’t interfered with that.
Ridge: I didn’t say that. No– no one ever said that. No, she’s been amazing. She’s been great. After caroline died, she was there and she– she built this solid foundation for that little boy. But now, he needs to be with his dad. He needs to learn about our family.
Brooke: Oh.
Ridge: No– no listen to me. He needs to learn about our family. He needs to learn about his legacy and his birthright. And– and I know. I get it. I know you’re concerned about thomas, that he’s going to maybe slide back to where he was. But he won’T. Because I’m gonna– I’m gonna be there. I’m going to make sure that he succeeds.
Brooke: And what about hope? I mean, douglas looks at her as his mother. That’s what she is to him. She– she adopted him, for god’s sakes!
Ridge: She’s always gonna be in his life. We’re not saying that that’s not going to happen. But that little boy can’t live with hope and liam anymore. He needs to know where his father is. He needs to understand that. And I really need you to support me on this.
Brooke: Oh my gosh, ridge, no. Thomas can’t have whatever he wants. He can’t just waltz in here and take his son. No. He lives with hope, liam, and his little baby sister. That is his family. That is what he knows. That’s his stability. I’m not going to allow it. He needs to stay with my daughter. Not with your son.
