Steffy: You thought we invited you here to welcome you into our family? You’re a deranged lunatic!
Sheila:You asked to see me? Taylor, what– what’s going on? Why are you treating me… like this? We’re family.
Steffy: You destroyed this family! You shot me. You killed my husband. You killed your own son! The truth is out, sheila. I remember now. It was you. You’re a murderer. You’re a murderer!
Hope: So, have you heard from ridge at all?
Brooke: No.
Hope: Oh, well, uh, you could always reach out.
Brooke: I know, honey, but, now that steffy’s home, ridge is going to give her all of his time and attention.
Hope: Yeah, I know liam feels the same way. And before you give me that look mom, steffy survived a terrible tragedy, so.
[ Knock at door ]
Deacon: Hey, lulu!
Hope: Dad!
Deacon: Hey, sweetheart. I knocked up at the cabin, I was hoping to find one of you home, and look at this. I got you both here.
[ Laughter ]
Deacon: Mm mm. Look, I know I shouldn’t just waltz in like this, but I didn’t see ridge’s car.
Brooke: He’s not here.
Deacon: Ah.
Hope: So… what brings you by, dad?
Deacon: Is this a bad time?
Hope: No, no. We– we were just, uh, discussing steffy’s progress. She just got released from the hospital, and ridge is helping her get settled in.
Deacon: And you’re hoping once she is, forrester’ll come to his senses and come back to you? Well, I suppose unlikelier things have happened.
Sheila: What– what are you saying? Taylor, you can’t believe this. This– this is crazy. Your mother invited me here so that– that I could see my grandson. She wouldn’t trick me in– taylor, you wouldn’T… te– tell her to stop.
Ridge: No one’s stopping, sheila.
Sheila: I– I don’t know what’s going on here, but I can– I can just leave.
Taylor: No. No. You’re going to stay. You’re going to answer for what you’ve done.
Sheila: I haven’t done anything,
Taylor: Steffy remembers.
Sheila: She’s wrong. You’re wrong. I’m not a murderer. You’re the ones that are acting delusional right now. I– here, you tell me that you sympathize with me, that you feel my grief. And– and now you want me to– oh, god. This is– this is disgusting. This is sick, to think– I loved my son. I gave him away as a baby, so he could have a better life. I would never… deliberately end it. (Christine) when you hear the words oral cancer,
Deacon: I’m the last guy to fault anyone for taking care of their kids.
Brooke: Ridge is 100% focused on steffy right now.
Deacon: I’m sorry, I– I didn’t mean to come off like I was undermining your belief in ridge. Your faith in liam.
Brooke: Okay. Well, let’s just… change the subject.
Deacon: Subject changed. Look, I just love you both. And I– I want what’s best for you.
Hope: Dad, we know that.
Deacon: Okay, I hope so. Now, I didn’t come over here to upset anybody. I came over because… I’ve got some mind-blowing news.
Sheila: You think I killed him? You’re wrong. You’re so–
Ridge: So you’re calling steffy a liar?
Sheila: I’m saying she doesn’t know what she’s saying.
Steffy: I remember sheila. I was there. You had a gun. You shot finn and me.
Sheila: What am i doing here? Why would I have rushed to the hospital, steffy? Why would I speak to the police? Why would I do that?
Steffy: You’re a lunatic. Who knows why you do anything?
Sheila: You’re so sure that I’ve done this hideous thing? And you can’t even say why?
Steffy: I saw you, sheila. You had the gun. You were in the alley.
Sheila: Yeah. And when you were in the hospital, you also thought that liam was your husband. You were positive of that. You had no memory of finn and hayes. None whatsoever. No, you believed you were married to liam.
Ridge: She knows what she saw.
Sheila: Her memories are not infallible. And you know that. Her mind has blocked out the pain and trauma of being shot. And now she’s just trying to put the pieces all back together again. And of course, it– it would be me! Why not, right? The woman that shot her mother. That took her away from her family all those years ago. No, you… you’re looking for someone to blame for losing finn.
Steffy: I was there! I remember!
Sheila: You don’T.
Steffy: I know what I’m saying. I know what I saw.
Sheila: You’ve always considered me to be a threat to your family. That’s why you put me into that alley. But it never happened. It isn’t real.
Steffy: I’m not making this up.
Ridge: Don’t listen to her, she’s trying to confuse you.
Sheila: You’re– you’re making these horrible accusations. When all I wanted to be was a part of my son’s life. Of his family’S. And I would have done anything to make that happen. And now, my son is gone. And that is tearing me apart. I never have experienced this kind of pain. It’s– it’s like hell on earth. And that kind of grief, and that kind of despair. You know… I wanted to take my own life. Taylor, you know that. You know, I’m not a violent person anymore. Steffy’S… mind is tainted by– by fear and anger, and that’s wrong. You know it. Please. You’ve gotta believe me. If you have advanced non-small cell lung cancer,
Hope: What’s going on, dad?
Deacon: Alright, before I say anything, I just want to make sure that we’re okay.
Brooke: We are.
Deacon: Okay. I’m sorry. Cause I– I didn’t mean to bad mouth liam or ridge. Alright, maybe ridge, just a little bit. But I– listen, I want to be supportive. I’m not trying to bring anyone down.
Hope: You didn’T.
Deacon: Alright, good. Because I think you two, are two of the most fantastic women in the world. And it just burns me up that you’re not getting treated the way you should be. You know, I know how much I want to be around you. And I– just think that liam and ridge would want to be around you, too.
Hope: Okay, dad, we get it.
Deacon: Okay, mm hm.
Hope: You said you came here with news. So, what’s that about?
Deacon: Yes, it’s about the shooting.
Brooke: Oh.
Deacon: It’s crazy how a tragedy like this can affect people and affect their relationships with other people.
Hope: Okay, no, maybe let’s not.
Deacon: No, no, no– I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about sheila.
Sheila: Taylor, you know I’m not the person I used to be. Saved your life.
Steffy: What is she saying?
Taylor: She was gonna jump off the roof of the hospital. When I tried to save her, I slipped and I fell, and… sheila grabbed me, and saved me.
Steffy: Oh, my god.
Taylor: That’s fine.
Ridge: So I’m sorry. What are you looking for? A loyalty cookie? What do you need?
Sheila: Maybe a little compassion.
Ridge: You’re not getting anything from this family. You’ve taken enough from us already.
Sheila: Just listen to what you’re saying! This is beyond cruel and it’s– it’s wrong.
Steffy: It’s true.
Ridge: You’re a killer! You’re a twisted, sick, evil killer. You killed your own boy!
Sheila: No! I’ve done things in my past. I’ve lost control. I’ve panicked. Done things that I’ll regret forever. But I am not evil.
Steffy: Yes, you are.
Sheila: I’m so sorry. I am so sorry for what has happened to your family. It haunts me. I think about what happened that night and what that means for hayes.
Steffy: Oh, don’t you dare say his name.
Sheila: You are obviously out of your mind with grief–
Taylor: Sheila, that’s enough. I opened up to you. I– I let you spend time with my family. I insisted that steffy invite you into this home.
Sheila: And I’m so grateful.
Taylor: I defended you to my children and to ridge. I– I told them to– to try to understand the pain that you’re going through.
Sheila: It’s because you know, I’m a different person now. I– I’m not denying what I’ve done in my past. I own my choices. I know that I– I have committed horrible crimes. But that doesn’t define me. That– I served my time. I was trying to make amends. And finn saw how hard I was trying. I thought that– I thought that you saw that, too. That– that you did. I lost my son that night too. That one senseless act of violence. And I’m never going to have a chance to truly redeem myself again. I mean, just– just look. Look at you all. Look at what’s happening. The way that– that you’re all turning on me. Taylor, please. It didn’t happen the way steffy said. Say something to them right now. You– you– ridge and steffy. They’ll believe you. They’ll listen to you.
Taylor: You want me to make my daughter doubt her own memory? To question the most horrifying thing she’s ever experienced?
Sheila: I just want you to make her see.
Taylor: You think that I would trust you over my own child? Sheila, you’re good. You’re good. But you are– you are not that good. I don’t believe you, sheila. I don’t believe you at all. I believe my daughter. She buried that horrific memory because it was too painful for her, but– but she remembers now. And she saw finn’s killer. And she’s certain it was you.
Sheila: I’m not that person.
Steffy: Gah, sheila, stop lying. You were there. You were in the alley. We were arguing. I swore I’d keep you away from finn and hayes. And then you took out a gun. You were going to kill me. And then finn showed up, and he jumped in front of the bullet. He died in my arms. And when I went to call 911, you– you turned the gun on me. You shot me. It was you, sheila. Finn’s blood is on your hands.
It’s the most wonderful
time of the year.
Brooke: You have news about sheila?
Deacon: You are not going to believe it.
Hope: Well, I thought you were trying to keep your distance from sheila.
Deacon: Yeah, but ever since finn died… she’s been completely alone. Completely isolated. I mean, she lost her son. Nobody would tell her what happened. She never got a chance to say goodbye. This has been awful for her.
Brooke: I did see her at the hospital a few times. She was devastated. As much as I despise sheila and everything she’s ever done, as a mom, I do feel sorry for her.
Deacon: You would not be the only one.
Hope: What do you mean?
Deacon: So taylor called sheila and invited her over to steffy’S. I– I didn’t think this was ever going to happen, but sheila thinks this could be it. She thinks that this might actually be her chance to be welcomed into her grandson’s life.
[ Brooke scoffing ]
Sheila: I’m not your enemy. I’m suffering, too.
Taylor: We know the truth, steffy remembers.
Sheila: Her– her memory… is hazy. She hates me. She wants me to be punished.
Ridge: Punished? What do you– do you know about punishment? You don’t get punished. If you were punished, you’d still be in prison. You wouldn’t have made it back here. You wouldn’t have met finn. You wouldn’t have shot my daughter and that poor, innocent boy. But you did. You took his life. And with that, destroyed your own. You know what? I’m going to– I’m going to spend every second of my day to make sure that you spend the rest of your life behind bars like that nasty, filthy animal that you are.
Sheila: Yes, I did it! I shot finn. But it was an accident, and it haunts me every minute of every day.
Steffy: Oh, I– I hope you die behind bars.
Sheila: He wasn’t supposed to be there. I loved finn. I would never hurt him. He was my own flesh… and blood. He was my last opportunity to finally have a loving relationship with one of my children. But you just… you couldn’t let that happen, could you? No, you were on me from the minute I came back to L.A. Threatening me, over and over again. Telling me how you were going to come between my son and me. And I’d never get to see my grandson.
Steffy: Hayes is gonna hate you for the rest of his life.
Sheila: You’re the one that took his daddy away from him. You. This never would have happened, if you would have shown me any kind of compassion, understanding, kindness. But no, steffy, you were too selfish for that! Too cruel! You– you want to blame this on me? But you know what really happened. I didn’t chase after you. You… came after me. Finn would still be here if it weren’t for you! You’d still have your husband. And hayes would still have his daddy. But no. No, you– you had to come after me. You had to attack me. I defended my relationship with my son! This is on you! Finn’s blood is on your hands, steffy. Yours!
Steffy: No, no it’s not. No, it’s not!
