Bridget: This is good.
Ridge: Yeah?
Bridget: Very, very good. I am pleased with the progress you’re making, steffy.
Steffy: Mm. Can… I go home?
Bridget: Let’s not get ahead of ourselves right now. Not quite yet, okay, honey?
Ridge: Come here a second. Do you think I could try again? You know, trying to find out again, what happened in the alley, jog her memory a little bit–
Bridget: Ridge, just don’t get disappointed if she doesn’t have answers.
Ridge: I’m not– okay, hey, baby, you awake?
Steffy: Mm.
Ridge: I just want to try one more time, see if– maybe you remember what happened that night. Who did this to you?
Deacon: You were really going to jump?
Sheila: Yes.
Deacon: I just had no idea that you were that depressed.
Sheila: Am that depressed, deacon, I am. I would’ve done it. I just want the pain to go away I have never felt so low and worthless.
Deacon: And then taylor showed up.
Sheila: Yeah. She tried to stop me.
Taylor: Sheila!
Sheila: I was gonna do it anyway.
Taylor: Don’t do it.
Sheila: And she made a move toward me, and she slipped. She saved my life.
Taylor: Don’t drop me! [ Sobbing ] Thank you!
Sheila: And I saved hers.
Taylor: Have the kids been asking questions?
Hope: Uh, well, douglas did ask how long kelly and hayes are going to be there.
Liam: Oh, man.
Hope: Yeah.
Taylor: Well, he’s a very smart kid. I’m sure he’ll figure out something’s going on soon.
Liam: Yeah, probably. I ju– I’m grateful that steffy’s doing better, because at least it’s going to make that very difficult conversation we have to have with them a little bit easier. But– hey.
Brooke: Hi! I heard that steffy was awake.
Taylor: She is.
Brooke: She is? That’s wonderful. You must be so relieved.
Taylor: I am.
Brooke: So where’s ridge?
Carter: Uh, quinn, um, what can I do for you?
Quinn: Well, um, I thought it was time to give this back to you. Key to your loft. I figured enough time has passed. Maybe there was another someone special you might want to give it to. But… I never would have thought… you and paris. It’s true? You’re involved with paris because I saw her face when she walked out right now. That’s why she and zende aren’t engaged. [ Sighing ] Carter, what have you gotten yourself into?
Brooke: So, is ridge here?
Taylor: He is, yes. He’s in with steffy right now.
Brooke: Oh, okay. Yeah. So I probably shouldn’t interrupt.
Taylor: Yeah, probably.
Brooke: Has steffy said anything so far? Does she know who did this to her and finn?
Deacon: Hey. I don’t need to worry about you, do I? I– I mean, right now. Sheila, I know–
Sheila: No you have no idea.
Deacon: Okay, fair enough. You’re right. I don’T.
Sheila: Finn is dead. And my grandson is gonna grow up without his father.
Deacon: And maybe without a mother. Which is all the reason why you need to stay in this world. You gotta be here for– for hayes– I– sheila, you gotta be here for hayes if steffy doesn’t pull through.
Sheila: She’s doing better. Uh, she’s not out of the woods yet, but– but she’s awake.
Deacon: Hey! That’s great– that– that’s good news, right?
Steffy: It’s fuzzy how– I don’t remember being shot at. I don’T.
Bridget: Honey, maybe if you concentrate on why you were there in the first place?
Ridge: Yeah. Why– why were you in the alley with finn? You guys going out for a drink? Maybe? What were you doing?
Bridget: It’s okay, steffy, if you need to rest.
Steffy: No. I– I want to help.
Ridge: You are, you are helping, just try to see if– you remember a face, maybe? Was it a man or a woman? Tall, short? Anything? Who shot you, baby? Hi, I’m karen.
Quinn: So this thing between you and paris, this has been going on since new year’s eve?
Carter: It was a mistake, and it never should have happened. So it was an attraction we’re going to have to fight.
[ Keys jangling ] What?
Quinn: Trying to fight an attraction to you. That’s something I know a little bit about.
Taylor: Steffy doesn’t remember anything about the shooting. Her, finn.
Brooke: Oh, no.
Liam: But bridget did say that, um, that’s relatively normal, right, taylor? Like, we shouldn’t be too concerned about it.
Taylor: Well, I mean, it’s not ideal. But I– I don’t think we should worry. It’s understandable that steffy would suppress this kind of trauma.
Hope: Yeah, but suppress for how long?
Taylor: I don’t know. Right now, steffy is– she’s and out of consciousness. She has to be reminded where she is and what happened. [ Sighing ] But you know what? She’s– she’s made so much progress already. She’s– she’s awake. She’s getting better by the hour. Hopefully, she’ll be able to connect the dots and find out who did this.
Deacon: I get that steffy hasn’t exactly treated you with kindness since you came back. But I can’t believe that you would wish her dead.
Sheila: What I wish is that I could go back in time. Before they got shot and do somethin– just do something to stop it.
Deacon: I’m so sorry, sheila.
Sheila: So am I. I just wish that I could tell finn that. I could see him just one more time. Tell him how much I love him and how sorry I am. He’s gone. And I’m– I’m never gonna get to see him again. I’ll never get to see him again. [ Sobbing ]
Steffy: I want to remember. [ Wincing ]
Bridget: I think she’s had enough.
Steffy: I– I want to remember, but I can’t–
Ridge: It’s okay. It’s okay.
Steffy: I can’T.
Ridge: It’s okay. Rest. Just close your eyes and get some rest. It’s okay. What– I’m sorry. I’m just trying to find out who did this to her.
Bridget: I know, ridge, I know. And it will happen.
Ridge: It will happen. I promise you.
Ridge: We’ll find whoever did this. I know there’s more heartache coming your way, but– I’m here. I’m right here.
Brooke: Has anybody told her, about finn?
Liam: No. I mean, I– I don’t- I don’t think so, but, uh– it’s just– I mean that conversation, it’s going to be impossible. How do we even– she lost her husband, you know.
Hope: Hi, amelia said that the kids are fine. And if we wanted to, she can bring them by the hospital later.
Liam: Oh, excellent. That’s really cool. I would, I– I would like to stay a little bit longer, at least until I can have a– a proper conversation with steffy. Um, actually, maybe I’m going to see if I can go do that now. Do you mind?
Hope: No.
Liam: All right. I love you.
Taylor: You happy with the numbers?
Bridget: Quite happy. You saw the follow up ct scan?
Taylor: Yeah.
Bridget: This is exactly where I would expect steffy to be.
Taylor: What about her memory?
Bridget: Taylor. You, of all people, know we don’t worry about that yet.
Taylor: Yeah, as a doctor. Sure. I’ve been trying to stay positive around my family. Not let them know what I’m feeling. But as a mother, I’m freaking out, bridget.
Bridget: Just remember, she regained consciousness.
Taylor: Yeah, hm.
Bridget: That was our biggest hurdle. Taylor, look at me. You got to hang in there, okay?
Taylor: Yes. Thank you. I’m– I’m trying. I’m trying.
Bridget: Don’t forget, it may not be such a bad thing that she doesn’t recall everything, just for the time being.
[ Sighing ]
Taylor: I can’t imagine what it’s going to be like for her to have to recall that horrific night. To experience those emotions again, and all of that but I know that it’s important, so she can tell us who did this, so we can put them behind bars.
Bridget: Well, it was a good sign that she woke up and knows who she is, who we are. We just need to give her some time to remember the events of that night.
Taylor: But when is she going to remember? When is she gonna be able to tell us what happened?
Quinn: Who knew paris and I would have so much in common. I should go and find her. Give her some advice–
Carter: No, no, no. Please don’T. Don’t do that.
Quinn: What? Professor quinn, how to get over carter walton 101.
Carter: Why is this funny? Why– why are you joking right now?
[ Chuckling ]
Quinn: Are you sure things are really over?
Carter: Yes. Yes. Falling for a woman involved with another man? Fool me once, right?
Quinn: Are you all right?
Carter: Can I tell you the truth?
Quinn: Always.
Carter: I haven’t been all right since you went back to eric. Been a bit of a mess, very confused, and– instead of moving on with a woman who’s available, what do I do? I hook up with zende’s girlfriend, he’s one of my best friends, and then– I let something happen with the woman I knew I couldn’t have. A relationship I knew would go nowhere.
Quinn: Why would you do that to yourself?
Carter: Because I couldn’t go after a woman with actual potential. Couldn’t risk starting something, not when…
Quinn: Not when what?
Carter: Not when a part of me is… still wanting… wishing. I miss you, quinn. I miss you.
Quinn: I miss you, too.
Taylor: It’s so upsetting, knowing that whoever did this is just walking around free.
Bridget: I know. I understand. I really, really do understand your frustration. But you have got to have some patience. You know, we just have to hope that steffy will be able to remember everything.
Taylor: You don’t really believe that she won’t, do you? See, I–I’ve been trying to stay strong for my family. Not wanting them to see that there is– there’s a part of me that is afraid that she’s not going to remember anything. You think the same thing too, don’t you? You think it’s possible& steffy might not remember what happened that night?
Brooke: Must be a little strange for you. Your husband has barely left the hospital since he found out, practically holding vigil at his ex-wife’s bedside.
Hope: Uh mom, steffy is very important to liam.
Brooke: Yes, they share a history.
Hope: And they share a child. So trust me, liam is exactly where he should be.
Brooke: Okay. What about you?
Hope: What about me?
Brooke: Uh, you and liam are a couple. Why didn’t you go in there with him?
Hope: Because steffy is still in a fragile state. She experienced something very traumatic, and I don’t want to overwhelm her. And besides, liam should have alone time with her. Mom, where is all this coming from?
Hope: I just thought you should have gone in there with him, that’s all. I mean, why wouldn’t you go in there? Liam is your husband.
Hope: I know that, mom. I know. And you don’t have to worry because nothing is going to change that.
[ Groaning ]
Ridge: Hey.
Steffy: Dad?
Ridge: You’re all right? You’re in pain?
Steffy: A little bit. Where am I? What happened?
Ridge: Wait, wait, you’re in the hospital, we talked about this. You– everything’s fine.
Steffy: Oh. Yeah, you– you want me to remember.
Ridge: Don’t worry about that.
Steffy: Yeah.
Ridge: Just rest, don’t worry.
Liam: Hey. Room for one more?
Ridge: Sure.
Liam: I, uh– I heard a rumor somebody is up and talking.
Steffy: Liam! Oh, liam.
Liam: Hey! Hey. Oh, my god. Oh, my god. There you are. Oh, boy. Look at you. Look at your smile. You really came back to us, didn’t you? Do you have any idea how worried I was about you? What I would have done if you had left us?
Steffy: I would never leave you. I would never, ever, ever leave you. Thank god you’re here. Thank god.
Liam: Honey, of course I’m here. I’m here.
