Steffy: I knew thomas was hiding something. He’s been so intense, shutting me out.
Finn: And why is he in the alley talking with sheila?
Steffy: That’s what I want to know. What has my brother gotten himself into?
Brooke: You said that we could get through anything. For better or for worse, in sickness or in health. You said that.
Ridge: I did. But those were not the only vows we made that day.
Brooke: I know. I know I hurt you and I continue to hurt you. I just… want to know if you still believe that we can get through anything–
Ridge: Logan. Logan. I came here to check on you. Make sure you’re not drinking.
Brooke: Because that’s what we do. We check on each other. I made the worst mistake I’ve ever made by letting you go, ridge, and I want you back. You’re my husband. Come home. Be my husband.
Finn: Okay, uh, maybe I’ve missed something. Just walk me through this again.
Steffy: Thomas has been acting really strange and whenever I ask him what’s wrong, he dodges the question.
Finn: You said the phone conversation that you overheard with thomas was intense?
Steffy: Yeah, I tried to ask him about it and he wouldn’t open up. And then he left the office. So i– I followed him.
Finn: And when you saw them together, what did they look like? Was– was it confrontational?
Steffy: I couldn’t really tell from where I was standing but it was clear that they wanted their privacy.
Finn: Why didn’t you just confront them?
Steffy: I wanted to do that! But I didn’t want to give sheila a chance to spin some kind of story so she could defend herself.
Finn: This is weird, steffy. Especially knowing how thomas feels about sheila.
Steffy: Something is going on with thomas. I need to know what it is.
[ Knocking on door ]
Taylor: Hey sweetie! I heard you were working late. Thought you might want to go grab a bite to eat with your old mom. Is everything okay?
Thomas: Yeah.
Taylor: Thomas, you can’t hide from me. I can tell something’s wrong. What is it?
Ridge: You want me to come home?
Brooke: Yes, I do. You know, I– I know I set you free. But… I mean, really, who does that? It’s really kind of silly, actually, because when you want something so bad, when you want that thing or person in your life, you don’t just set them free. Gotta hold onto it. Right? I mean… we’ve been through too much together, ridge. Just too much to let it end like this. We can’T.
[ Sighs ] I love you and I miss you. And I want you to come back. I do. So just please, please come home. Please be with me. Be ready for whatever life throws your way.
Steffy: We both know this wouldn’t be the first time thomas’ gotten himself into something.
Finn: But we don’t even know what this is yet.
Steffy: I think he could be in trouble.
Finn: Steffy–
Steffy: If he’s having conversations with sheila, like, no good can come from that.
Finn: But what if it can? Maybe thomas is acting strange because your parents are getting closer.
Steffy: That would make him act strange?
Finn: Well, yeah, because, uh, it’s something that he’s always hoped for. And now that it’s happening, he’s– he’s thinking it’s too good to be true. You both know what it’s like to watch your parents’ relationship fall apart.
Steffy: Yeah, but brooke is out of the picture. It’s like no way my father’s going back to her.
Finn: But brooke isn’t the only threat to your family. Maybe thomas met with sheila to put her on notice. Maybe he’s just trying to protect you guys.
Steffy: Protect us?
Finn: Well, think about it, the idea of your parents finally reuniting, maybe he’s just trying to make sure that nothing gets in the way of that.
Steffy: Why doesn’t he just tell me? Why is he trying to hide it?
Finn: Well, because of me. Sheila’s my birth mother. You’re my wife and he knows how much tension that caused when she first arrived. Maybe he thought if he told you, it’d would just add to it. Look. Thomas, he’s thrilled about taylor and ridge.
Steffy: So thrilled that he’s trying to protect it. I mean, it does make sense. As weird as my brother is acting, there’s nothing he wouldn’t do to get our parents back together.
Taylor: Thomas, what’s going on?
Thomas: Mom, you don’t need to worry about me.
Taylor: Okay, well, too bad. I’m your mom, so.
Thomas: I’m asking you to trust me. I’m okay. All right? I’m better than okay. You and dad are getting back together–
Taylor: Ah, you’re deflecting.
Thomas: I’m not.
Taylor: Yeah, you are.
Thomas: No, I’m not. I’m not deflecting–
Taylor: Mm.
Thomas: You and dad finally have another chance together and that’s amazing. It is, but if I seem out of sorts, maybe it’s just because I’ve recognized that’s happened before. And obviously, you didn’t end up together, so. I guess I’m just a little worried.
Taylor: I understand. Look, this is not at all what I expected when I came back to L.A. You know, your father and I share a very special bond. With everything that’s going on we’ve– we’ve been reconnecting and it’s been really nice, so. Thomas?
Thomas: Yeah, you, um, you do have a special bond. You guys love each other genuinely. And you’re such a loving person, you’re– you’re– you’re amazing. I mean, you– what you poured into me, the amount of help you gave me when I was going through everything I went through, I–
Taylor: Honey, you did all the work. I– I wish that I would have been there.
Thomas: No, heh, I don’t– I don’t agree with that. You definitely did a lot of work. It doesn’t really matter, look, what I’m saying is that you… you’re an incredibly loving person. And you pour that out of yourself to people, you genuinely want to help people. And that love shines through day and night for you. And I want to make sure that you have someone in your life that pours that kind of love into you. And the way that I see dad with you, it seems like he does. He loves you like that. And I just want to make sure that nothing gets in the way of that.
Brooke: I’ve made terrible mistakes, I know that. I’ve broken your heart and I hate myself for that. But honestly, ridge, I wouldn’t be asking you to come home if I didn’t think we could get through this. ‘Cause you are my destiny. And we’ve taken this amazing, wonderful, exciting yet sometimes painful road. And we’ve gone on this road together, ridge. Has been an incredible journey. It has. And I don’t want it to end. And I don’t think you do, either. Let’s just do this, okay? Let’S… go down this road together. We can do it. What do you say? When tired, achy feet make your whole body want to stop,
Finn: Look, I understand your concern. But as far as sheila goes, she seems to be on her best behavior. Spending christmas eve with us– it gave her hope. I didn’t get the impression that she’d be willing to risk all the progress that she made.
Steffy: And thomas?
Finn: He’s probably just protecting his family.
Steffy: Yeah. Maybe.
Finn: Hey, come here. Thomas is going to be okay. All right? Everyone is.
Steffy: This is nice.
Finn: Yeah, it is.
Steffy: Yeah.
Finn: Do you hear that?
Steffy: No, I don’t hear anything.
Finn: Exactly. Kids are asleep. Everyone’s gone.
Steffy: And I ruined your surprise dinner plans by getting home before you.
Finn: Luckily, I think quick on my feet. So why don’t I check on the kids and you meet me in the bedroom?
Ridge: What are we doing here, huh? I didn’t– I didn’t come here tonight to– to have you beg my forgiveness. I– I’m here because I was concerned about you. I still am.
Brooke: Well, I still haven’t had a drink if that’s what you’re getting at, and I’m not tempted to–
Ridge: You were tempted, new year’s eve. And we still don’t know what triggered you. And I don’t want that to happen again.
Brooke: Well, I’m not triggered now,
Ridge: I can’t do this with you.
Brooke: I’m not, ridge. I’m not triggered now. I don’t want to drink. All I want is you.
Finn: It’s been too long. I’m steve, I lost 138 pounds in nine months on golo
Steffy: How did you do this so quickly?
Finn: I have my ways. There also might be a pile of dirty clothes under the bed.
Steffy: Okay. And the rose petals…
Finn: Mm, I can’t reveal all my secrets. I’ve been waiting for a night like this. A night where it’S… just us.
Steffy: Me too.
Finn: And I don’t know what I did to deserve you. I am the luckiest man in the world. I fall more in love with you every minute, every day. You are… you’re fire, you’re strength, you– you’re a total bad ass. But you’re warm, and you’re sensitive, and sexy.
Steffy: Even when I’m covered in spit up?
Finn: Especially then. You have brought… so much… into my life. And I’m looking forward to a long and happy future with you. I love you.
Steffy: I love you.

Taylor: I know how– how happy you are that your dad and I are reconnecting but it’s not your responsibility to bring us back together, you know?
Thomas: I know it’s not my responsibility but if there’s something I can do then I will. You’ve sacrificed so much to help so many people. I mean, when’s it your turn to be happy? To have other people sacrifice for you? And look, dad gives you the kind of love and fulfillment that you deserve. And you obviously give that back to him.
Taylor: You make it sound all poetic, like your father and I are soul mates.
Thomas: You’re not?
Taylor: Honey, I love your dad so much. I– I really do. That has never changed. After all these years, even the thought of him makes my heart skip a beat. But with everything that’s going on with brooke, um, I don’t want to admit that I– I’d love to have a life with him and get a second chance. But, I do hope that. I really do.
Thomas: I hope so, too.
Brooke: What happened that night doesn’t change how much I love you. Is that so hard to believe?
Ridge: I don’t know what to believe, anymore.
Brooke: You do, ridge. You know what to believe. You know you can believe that I love you with my entire being. Look, I understand why you can’t be here with me. I do. Just know that I will wait. I will wait for as long as you need me to. Because I will always love you. And I know you will always love me, too.
Ridge: Hey. You’re right. I love you. I will always love you.
