Ridge: No.
Taylor: There’s no expectations. That kiss was nice, though.
Ridge: Mm-hmm.
Taylor: So… if you ever do that again, you know, I– I might be into it.
Brooke: I just love you so,
so much.
I wish to god
that I deserved your love.
But I don’T.
I don’t deserve it.

Ridge: For the record,
the only life I ever
wanted was with you.
Hope: Mom. What’s going on? Have you talked to ridge yet because it’s not too late, if you’re upset.
Brooke: It is. And I have to accept it, honey. My marriage to ridge is over. And I have nobody to blame but myself.
[ Sighs ]
Thomas: I am
done playing games.
Spit it out!
Sheila: And I switched
the labels.
Brooke didn’t have a clue.
Thomas: You switched

Sheila: Yeah, it really was
some of my finest work.
Steffy: Not inspired?
Thomas: No, you know what? You’re right. You’re right. I should just give up on this and uh, try again tomorrow. What brings you back to work?
Steffy: You. I want to know what’s going on. And please don’t tell me, “it’s nothing.”
Grace: Excuse me? I know I didn’t just hear what I think I heard.
Paris: It’s true, mom.
Grace: You and carter…
Paris: We’re in love.
Grace: You mean to tell me you have feelings for the same man that’s caused your sister so much pain?
Carter: Look, grace…
Grace: No. You look, carter. You look me in the eyes and you tell me you’re worthy of my daughter. Because we both know you aren’T. This is wrong. This is so wrong. And there’s no chance in hell I’m gonna let this continue.
Thomas: Why do you think something’s going on?
Steffy: Because you’ve been acting really strange, like you’re carrying some kind of weight. Not to mention this sudden attitude shift about brooke.
Thomas: There’s been no shift about brooke. All I said is that she’s going through a lot and maybe we shouldn’T… add to that, you know? There’s no– there’s no reason to kick her when she’s down. We are getting what we want, right? Mom and dad, back together.
Steffy: Yeah, but why does it sound like you feel guilty about it?
Hope: It isn’t too late. If you go to ridge–
Brooke: He was here, honey.
Hope: Okay, well, that’s a good sign, right?
Brooke: He just came to pick up some things.
Hope: Well, did you tell him that the two of you needed to talk and work through this?
Brooke: I told him to go.
Hope: Go?
Brooke: Go to taylor’s, so he can have a life without misery.
Hope: Mom, no.
Brooke: Yeah, I did. I told him that. I did it for his sake, honey. I just want him to be happy. So I told him to go.
[ Taylor sighing ]
[ Exhaling ]
Taylor: It must have been hard for brooke to give you your freedom and let you go. Freedom looks like different things to different people, you know? And, you gotta figure out what that looks like for you. Ridge, this– this can’t happen unless you know what you want. Do you even know if you’re ready to move on? Why give your family just ordinary eggs
Paris: Mom, could you please just hear me out?
Grace: There’s nothing to hear. If you tie yourself to this man it will be your downfall. Do you not understand how the forresters would react?
Paris: Okay. If this is about zende–
Carter: We don’t want to hurt zende?
Grace: Oh, sure you don’T. That’s why my daughter’s half naked in your apartment tonight.-Honey, you have created an extraordinary life at forrester creations, a life that should include zende. I am not going to let you do it. I am not going to let you destroy everything you’ve been working toward.
Steffy: After all these years, brooke could finally be out of dad’s life.
Thomas: Yeah, but, um, not really, right? Because there’s rj, obviously they have a kid together. They have a bunch of connections and they work together–
Steffy: There you go again.
Thomas: There I go, what?
Steffy: This, like, tone. Like you feel bad for brooke. What’s changed?
Hope: I can’t believe that you’re just, giving up like this.
[ Brooke sighs ]
Brooke: I don’t want to, hope, I don’T. But I don’t have much choice.
Hope: Mom. Of course you have a choice. Ridge is the love of your life, that’s what you’ve always told me. Remember that story about how you laid eyes on him for the first time and you knew he was the one? You can’t just let that go without a fight.
Brooke: I don’t want him staying with me out of obligation.
Hope: Oh, mom, how are you an obligation?
>>Brooke: Honey, if he would rather be with taylor…
Hope: Who is saying that he does?
Brooke: I don’t know. I just– I’m trying not to be selfish here. I’m trying to do the right thing, what will make him happy.
Hope: By pushing him to taylor?
Brooke: I just want to give him his freedom, you know? And yeah, maybe taylor is better for him. Maybe he should be with her. She’s– she’s calm and she’s sweet. Everything I’m not. And this way he wouldn’t have to worry about going out of town and me kissing every guy every time he leaves.
Hope: Oh my gosh, mom, you don’t do that and you wouldn’t do that again.
Brooke: Yeah, well, it never should have happened in the first place. He deserves somebody that is completely, completely devoted to him. And it certainly isn’t me. I mean, all I ever bring him is dis– disappointment.
Taylor: It’s too soon for you to answer that. A relationship like the one you have with brooke, you just don’t move on from that.
Ridge: But I do want to move on from the drama, the heartache.
Taylor: Good. Yes. Let our grand kids bring the drama. Kelly is really good at that. And hayes is almost at that age.
Ridge: And I want to be here for it, every minute.
Taylor: I’m glad you’re here. Even thomas is bringing douglas over more to hang out with us. It’s like we’re one, big, happy multi-generational family.
Ridge: Mm hm.
Taylor: I’m enjoying this. Spending time with our grand kids and our kids, watching you. Just moment to moment. And this is a good moment.
(Ziploc tab zip opening) to let you do it. I am not going to let you sabotage your career, your future for this man.
Paris: Zende and i aren’t exclusive.
Grace: But he wants to be. How would he feel if you found out the reason that you don’t want to be exclusive is because you’re here lusting after carter? Tell her, carter. Tell her whatever this is, it’s over. And you’ve got your career to think about. Don’t you? Tell her, carter. Tell her to go back to zende.
Thomas: Maybe brooke does deserve a little pity in this situation.
Steffy: Seriously? Do you or do you not want to see our parents happy together?
Thomas: Of course, I wanna see our parents happy together.
Steffy: Good. So then stop feeling sorry for brooke. She brought all of this on herself.
Hope: Yes. Ridge was hurt by what happened. But you cannot tell me that all those years of history and the great love that the two of you have shared, that that is worth giving up on.
Brooke: No, honey, it isn’T. I’m just trying to see it from his perspective. Oh, god. Have I made a mistake?
Hope: Do you want this? I mean, you– you do want your marriage to ridge, right?
Brooke: More than anything.
Hope: Then, you have to keep fighting.
Brooke: Oh, honey, I– I mean, how many times can he, he forgive me? How many times can I disappoint him? I mean, look at everything I’ve done. Kissing bill. Kissing deacon. Drinking. Maybe stephanie was right all those years ago. She knew she didn’t want me around ridge ’cause she knew the kind of woman that I was… brooke logan, slut from the valley.
Hope: Mom!
Brooke: Well, there’s truth to it, isn’t there?
Hope: Mom, I don’t want you thinking about yourself, and stephanie had no right.
Brooke: Honey, she had a right. She wanted her son to be happy. She wanted her son to be– to be with a good woman, a woman of substance. And I didn’t understand that then but I certainly understand that now. She wanted him to be happy and she was so adamant about it. And I can see that… because I want that kind of joy for ridge. I do. He should have that.
Taylor: I’ve missed this. This. Your company. I’ve never stop loving you.
Ridge: No. Pain hits fast.
Paris: Mom, I’m not a child. And you don’t have any say on who I date. Carter and I have feelings for each other and you can’t order him to turn them off or push me towards zende.
Grace: Is that what you think, carter? That I don’t have a right to my opinion? That I don’t have a right to be concerned about the damage this little fling will cause?
Carter: She’s right.
Paris: What?
Carter: I don’t want you to jeopardize everything for me.
Paris: Carter, stop. You just said you loved me.
Carter: I do, I do, and I love you too much to let you ruin your life.
Paris: You don’t mean this.
Carter: I do. I do. If zende proposes, say yes. Be his wife.
Hope: I don’t know what has gotten into you and why you’ve suddenly decided that taylor is the better match for ridge.
Brooke: Well, she won’t go around kissing other men, that’s for sure.
Hope: Okay, fine. Maybe not. But why are you idealizing taylor as if she’s some kind of saint who will never cause ridge any pain? Because she’s human, mom. She has made her share of mistakes. I mean, do you think that ridge has just suddenly forgotten all of the reasons that they’ve broken up in the past before? Do you think that he didn’t notice that she’s been mia for years? And yet, she’s better for ridge? I– I get that you have told ridge to, “go be free and to be with taylor”, but I see through this whole martyr act. And I am not buying it. I’m not, okay? Because I am not giving up on the two of you. And neither should you. Especially when I know that you still want a life with ridge.
Brooke: I do. Of course I do, honey. I don’t want to give up on this, either. I don’T. I mean, a part of me keeps on hoping that he’ll just come back, you know? And that he’ll forgive me and just forget about all the mistakes I made and we could just move forward. I didn’t want this. I didn’t want any of this.
Taylor: I know you’re trying to process a lot of emotions right now. I am too. I know your head is spinning. You don’t have to pretend that it’s not, not with me.
Ridge: Thank you for understanding.
Taylor: Yeah. Thank you for letting me be here for you.
Brooke: I don’t think I’ll feel for any man what I feel for ridge. I will always love him. And I’ll always wonder what went so wrong. Why did I do it, hope? Why did I let my destiny slip away?
[ Thomas sighs ]
Sheila: This is your chance
to save your father, to rid him
of brooke, permanently.
