Belle: Who ran the test? Couldn’t the night crew have a made a mistake?
Shawn: The lab tech ran the test twice. It’s a definitive match for philip’S.
Belle: I just don’t believe that brady would do something like that to philip.
Shawn: Listen, I know, honey, but you just–
Melinda: Oh. I hate to interrupt that tender moment. But don’t you think you should be out arresting brady black?
[Monitor beeping]
Brady: I–I swear on my kids’ lives. I–I didn’t attack philip. I didn’T. I would have remembered if I did it, chloe.
Chloe: Okay. It is just shawn’s theory for now. He thinks–
Brady: I don’t–I don’t care what shawn thinks. I care about what you think. I want to know what you think. Do you think I did something to him? You–oh, wow. I’ll take that as a yes. You–okay, all right.
Chloe: What are you doing? What are you doing? Stop.
Brady: I’m getting out of this hospital bed, and I’m gonna find philip myself.
[“Hark the herald angels sing” instrumental playing]
Kate: So you’re late getting home.
Lucas: Yeah, I had kind of had a busy day.
Kate: Oh, no. You have that sad cowboy face like from those westerns that roman always makes me watch. What’s wrong now?
Lucas: Nothing is wrong. Everything’s perfect. Everything’s just fine and dandy. Thank you. Why are you so chipper? Disgustingly chipper? What’d you get to swindle an orphanage or something?
Kate: Okay. Now I’m going to ignore that. And actually, if I am feeling chipper, it’s because rex is back in salem.
Lucas: Right.
Kate: Why are you so morose?
Lucas: Because sami’s back in town too.
Nicole: Hmm. Is sex with you good enough for me to forget about rafe? Huh? I am gonna have to mull that over.
Ej: [Chuckles] Oh, that’s not what I was hoping for.
Nicole: No? What about you? Were you able to forget all about your passionate nights with your precious samantha?
Ej: Samantha? I don’t believe I know anyone by that name.
Nicole: Oh.
Ej: Mmm.
[Tense music]
Sami: [Clears throat]
Ej: Samantha? You’re back.
Sami: Yeah. I am. And I can see just how much you missed me.
Male announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the “days of our lives.”
[Soft orchestration]
Maggie: Victor. Well, whatever you’re reading, why don’t you bring it up to bed?
Victor: I wasn’t reading.
Maggie: Oh, it’s philip’s old high school yearbook. Oh, look at him. He’s a baby.
Victor: You haven’t seen him, have you?
Maggie: No. Are you worried about him?
Victor: Chloe called. Can’t find him anywhere. She wanted to know if I’ve seen him.
Maggie: What did you say?
Victor: That philip was dead to me.
Shawn: The blood on the knife is a match for philip’s, but the divers haven’t found anything in the river.
Melinda: Philip’s blood is on the knife. Philip’s missing. Brady black was found in the same spot that philip was last seen alive covered in blood which matched philip’S. That’s enough for me. Go make the arrest.
Shawn: What? Without a body? What am I gonna charge him with?
Belle: Yeah. I’d like to know the answer to that too.
Melinda: Are you here as an attorney?
Belle: Yes. I am. And I was just telling my husband that your entire case against my client is completely circumstantial.
Shawn: Wait a minute. Brady’s your client? Since when?
Belle: Since she walked into the room.
Rafe: Mmm. Thanks. That hit the spot.
Ava: [Laughs] Good. I’m glad. And you are welcome. Hey, you know what? I was thinking maybe tomorrow we could go shopping for a christmas tree. You know, I think we could use a dose of the holiday spirit around here.
Rafe: Yes.
Ava: Yeah?
Rafe: Yes, we sure could. Lord knows we’ve got the live-in grinch.
Ava: Oh, god. I promise. I promise you I will try and ignore her.
Rafe: Promise?
Ava: Yes. So tomorrow works?
Rafe: Yes. Yeah, that’s good. Real good. What about you, hmm?
Ava: What about me?
Rafe: Have you thought about what you want for christmas.
Ava: Nope. Because I have everything that I want.
Rafe: Aw.
Chloe: Brady, where are you going?
Brady: Going down to the river, ’cause I want to help him find philip.
Chloe: Really? In a hospital gown? It’s a bit drafty. Don’t you think?
Brady: It’s better than lying around in a hospital bed waiting for shawn to build a case against me. For something I didn’t do.
Chloe: I’m not accusing you of anything.
Brady: [Sighs] I can see it in your face. You might as well just admit it. You think that either philip is badly hurt or dead. And you think that I did it.
Sami: Don’t bother. I’ve seen it all before. Like anyone who rented a misty circle porn in the ’90s.
Nicole: I see you haven’t lost that nimble wit of yours.
Sami: And I see you’re still the same skank playing musical beds.
Ej: Samantha, you’re going to have to leave. Nicole and I were in the middle of something, weren’t we?
Sami: Don’t touch her again, ej. It’s my 4:05 the-show-must-go-on
Kate: So sami didn’t leave town on her own?
Lucas: Nope. No. She was kidnapped. And she’s been locked in a room for this whole time.
Kate: And you rescued her? But how the hell did that happen?
Lucas: It wasn’t easy, but I was with allie when sami managed to call her. And I–I just helped sami figure out where she was, and then I went and got her.
Kate: This is unreal. I mean, even for sami, you know? So roman knows?
Lucas: No, I doubt it. I doubt it. Sami made it a point that she didn’t want to get any family involved. She didn’t want to notify anybody.
Kate: What? What’s more important than your father knowing that you were kidnapped?
Lucas: To sami you mean? Oh, I got two words for you. Ej dimera.
Kate: [Sighs]
Nicole: You know what, ej? I think I’m gonna go. It seems you two have a lot to talk about.
Ej: No, you mustn’t go.
Sami: Oh, yes, she must. Get out of here.
Nicole: Don’t mind if I do.
Sami: Best idea you’ve had all year.
Ej: You’re not going anywhere. Samantha will be the one leaving. Now.
Sami: I’m not going anywhere until I’ve had my say.
Nicole: Well, and I’d rather not be here for that. So thank you.
Ej: Why should I listen to what you have to say?
Sami: Because I am your wife.
Ej: Oh, right. Of course. My loving, faithful, loyal wife who while I was fighting to regain my health was cheating on me with her ex-husband.
Sami: You’re in bed with your ex-wife.
Ej: Which is the perfect example of divine justice.
Sami: [Scoffs]
Ej: Don’t you agree?
Sami: [Scoffs]
Maggie: Why do you say things like that, victor, when you know you don’t mean it?
Victor: I mean every word of it. My son is a colossal screw-up.
Maggie: Well, I don’t approve of everything that philip does, but he still–
Victor: Who else would get involved with the likes of ava vitali not once but twice? Why, he’s gonna go ahead and cost me everything I’ve worked my entire life to build.
Maggie: I know you’re disappointed in him.
Victor: That’s an understatement.
Maggie: But when I found you looking at his school picture, you looked so sad.
Victor: I was remembering the high hopes that I had for him.
Maggie: Of course you were. And you were also thinking about how much you love and miss him. He has a permanent place in your heart, victor. And he always will. Just like bo and isabella.
Victor: Don’t use philip’s name in the same breath as my other children. You know, I often wondered why god took them from me so soon and left me with the one son who’s done nothing but bring shame to the kiriakis name.
Belle: I am not gonna let you railroad brady just because you’re hungry for another headline.
Melinda: You know what? Detective brady, I’m starting to wonder if you’re too close to this case for comfort.
Shawn: Okay, what’s that supposed to mean?
Melinda: Victor kiriakis is your grandfather. That makes philip your uncle. Brady black is your brother-in-law. And now your lovely wife is saying that she’s representing your number one suspect. Do you hear what I’m saying?
Shawn: Yeah, that I can’t be unbiased.
Belle: Mm-hmm. Wow, you’ve got a lot of nerve coming in here and questioning my husband’s integrity.
Melinda: Ooh, I was not talking to you, counselor.
Shawn: Look, I can assure you, madame district attorney, that I’m perfectly capable of separating my family loyalties from my work.
Melinda: Good. Then do your job. Find out what happened to philip kiriakis and arrest the person who did it.
Brady: Stop, stop. You don’t have to do it.
Chloe: Why? Your pillow’s all messed up and your blank–
Brady: I can do it. I can do it. I can do it myself.
Chloe: Oh, all right.
Brady: [Groans]
Chloe: Come on. Come on. Lay back.
Brady: Thank you.
Chloe: You’re welcome. I’m glad you’re kind of listening to some reason.
Brady: I’m not listening to reason, chloe. I just have a bump on the back of my head. It’s beating like a bass drum.
Chloe: Yeah, well, kayla thinks that you might have hit your head on a rock when you passed out.
Brady: That must have been some rock.
Chloe: What were you thinking wanting to go down to the river? What would that look like? There’s cops crawling all over the place.
Brady: What would they think that I couldn’t resist going back to the scene of the crime? Is that it?
Chloe: Brady–
Brady: Chloe, I’m–I’m gonna ask you one more time. I keep asking you this over and over again. I need to know the answer. Do you think I made philip disappear? Yes or no?
Chloe: I–I–don’t–
Brady: Yes or no?
Chloe: I don’t know what to think. I mean, you–you were drunk.
Brady: No, no.
Chloe: And you sent those text messages.
Brady: I wasn’t drunk. And I didn’t send messages. If I would have had a drink, I would have remembered it.
Chloe: Are you sure?
Brady: Chlo, I’ve been clean and sober for a long time now. Please believe me. I swear I didn’t do this.
[Monitor beeping] Like pulsing, electric shocks,
Brady: I don’t care if everyone in this town thinks that I’m the reason philip disappeared. I just need to know that you still believe in me. That’s important to me.
Chloe: Well, I–I see the sincerity in your eyes, and I hear it in your voice.
Brady: Okay. That’s–that’s something.
Chloe: The brady black I know would never hurt philip or anyone else.
Brady: I’m still that guy.
Chloe: When you’re sober, absolutely, but I’ve seen what it looks like when you fall off the wagon.
Brady: Chloe, I told you, I didn’t touch a drop. I didn’t touch a drop of anything.
Chloe: Then how did all that alcohol end up in your system?
Brady: I don’t know. I don’t–I don’t know. Someone poured it down my throat, chloe. I don’t know how it got there.
Chloe: Poured it down your throat? Brady, I was married to you. I remember what that looked like. The–the mood swings, the–the blackouts, the rage.
Brady: Hey, I never–I never laid a hand on you. You know that. I never did.
Chloe: I–I know that.
Brady: You know that.
Chloe: I know that, but there were times I was really afraid that you would. You don’t know what it looks like when you’re out of control, when you’re loaded.
Belle: How do you stand working with melinda trask every day? I swear, she is such a bitch.
Shawn: Uh, uh, uh. Do you remember when claire called those mean girls in her class bitches? Who was the one said that no woman should ever call another woman the b-word?
Belle: Okay. So I’m a bad feminist. Sue me.
Shawn: Are you kidding me? And face belle brady in court. No way.
Belle: Smart guy.
Shawn: Yeah. Well, and speaking of court, I really wish you would have told me that you were representing brady before you told trask.
Belle: Come on. He’s my brother. And she was drooling at the idea of arresting him.
Shawn: I know. But you do see how bad things look for him. I mean, philip is missing, the blood on the knife belongs to philip.
Belle: Okay. You know what? You’re starting to sound a little like trask.
Shawn: But I’m not drooling, honey. All right? I just can’t turn a blind eye to the facts. All right, look, if something bad happened to philip, it’s–
Belle: We don’t know that it did.
Shawn: I know. And that’s why we are doing a full grid search of the surrounding area.
Belle: Right. Well, then I need to get to the hospital and let brady know that he has an attorney whether he wants one or not. Are you gonna stay here or go out on the search?
Shawn: Neither one. I, uh, have to go tell my grandfather that his son is missing.
Lucas: I couldn’t believe it. We were in salem not for five seconds, and she couldn’t wait to get back to the dimera house. She couldn’t wait to see that bum.
Kate: Well, I take that she’s looking for a reconciliation.
Lucas: Yeah, I guess so. Something like that.
Kate: Yeah, well, with a man like ej, that’s not going to be easy.
Lucas: That’s what I told her. But she thinks the fact that she got kidnapped is gonna make up for the fact that we slept together.
Kate: Mm. Well, yeah, maybe. Maybe that could happen. But is sami going to be able to forget about what’s happening between nicole and ej?
Lucas: What?
Kate: Oh. You didn’t know?
Sami: So you basically admitted it. He’s only sleeping with you to hurt me.
Ej: She’ll say anything when she’s in fire-breathing mode. You know that, right?
Nicole: Yeah. I do. I know that. God, sami, you have not changed. You’ve been away for a few months now, and you come back here still thinking the world revolves around you. Ej and I are both available and consenting adults. And we made an adult decision to start seeing each other again. And it had nothing to do with you.
Sami: You’re available because my brother finally wised up and decided to dump you. He’s not available. He’s my husband, you bitch.
Nicole: [Groans]
The snapshot app from
progressive rewards you
Lucas: Wait a minute. There’s something going on between nicole and ej?
Kate: Oh, my god. You really have been out of the action, haven’t you?
Lucas: How serious is it? How serious is it between elvis and priscilla?
Kate: Well, I didn’t say it was serious.
Lucas: Just tell me what you know. Please.
Kate: Okay. Okay. I ran into ej’s assistant the other day, and I got her talking. And she let it slip that ej and nicole have been having dinner on a regular basis.
Lucas: No. I cannot believe that. That’s amazing. Ej and nicole. Sami’s gonna lose it. She’s gonna go ballistic. And I absolutely love it.
Nicole: What is this? “Dynasty”?
Ej: Get out, samantha. Or I’ll have you shown off the property.
Sami: Yeah. Actually it is. Let’s take this outside. I think krystal should have a final say with alexis.
Ej: I’m calling security.
Sami: Oh, stop it.
Nicole: Wait. Hang on. Hang on a second. Sami, you do realize this whole situation is your fault. Ej is healthy. You were living here with him. But you couldn’t help yourself, could you? You had to destroy my marriage too.
Sami: What was I supposed to do? Not tell my own brother that you were slutting around with xander cook?
Nicole: If you just minded your own business, I would still be with eric.
Sami: Yeah. Couldn’t do that. Couldn’t let him live a lie.
Nicole: You would still be the mistress of this manor. But no, you couldn’t keep your big mouth shut.
Sami: None of that has anything to do with the fact that you are sleeping with another woman’s husband.
Ej: The only reason I have the misfortune of still being your husband is because you vanished before I could serve you divorce papers.
Sami: You–you filed divorce papers?
Ej: After you cheated on me with that sniveling beta male lucas? Yes. Of course I did. I told you before you skipped town that our marriage was over. But you refused to accept it.
Sami: I didn’t skip town, you pompous ass. I was kidnapped.
Nicole: [Scoffs]
Rafe: So since we’re gonna be christmas tree shopping tomorrow.
Ava: Mm-hmm. I bet I know what’s in that box.
Rafe: Come and see. Come on.
Ava: It’s christmas ornaments, right?
Rafe: Yes.
Ava: Yeah.
Rafe: Most of them old. See, mommy, she insisted on handing down the christmas tree ornaments to me and gabi.
Ava: Wow. They look amazing.
Rafe: Yes. And like I said, they are old.
Ava: [Laughs] That’s really pretty.
Rafe: Yeah, well, we weren’t trying to be cool. It’s just we didn’t have money, and, well, my mom liked it that kids made them too, you know? Wow.
Ava: Oh, look at that. That one’s fun.
Rafe: Oh, yeah. I think gabi made that one actually.
Ava: Oh.
Rafe: Yep.
Ava: Great. Okay, well, show me one that, um, that little rafael made.
Rafe: Well, okay. Let’s–oh, oh. Yeah. There we go. Huh?
Ava: Did you draw that little boy?
Rafe: Yes. It’s a self-portrait actually.
Ava: Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, you’re a very talented artist. I can see the resemblance actually.
Rafe: Thank you. Thank you.
Ava: Mm-hmm.
Rafe: An ornament of myself for the tree, a little egotistical though, huh?
Ava: Most kids are.
Rafe: Yeah. Well, there’s lots of them as you can see.
Ava: It’s fine.
Rafe: But, you know, if you have some, that’d be great too.
Ava: Um, I don’T. I mean, of course, we could afford them in my family. But sometimes they just weren’t exactly in the christmas spirit.
Rafe: Well, that’s too bad.
Ava: Yeah. But I am in the christmas spirit this year.
Rafe: Oh, yeah.
Ava: Yes. What about you?
Rafe: Oh, yes.
Ava: Yeah?
Rafe: Definitely.
Ava: Hey, you know, I wonder if it could have anything to do with us being together.
Rafe: I think it has a lot to do with that.
Ava: Yeah?
Rafe: Yeah. Merry christmas.
Maggie: Victor? Shawn is here. He needs to talk to you.
Victor: Well, I’m always glad to see shawn. But given the late hour and the fact that your wife doesn’t seem to be with you, I take it this is not a social call.
Shawn: No. No, it’s not.
Victor: All right. Give it to me straight. Who is it?
Shawn: Uh, it’s philip.
Victor: What’s he done now?
Shawn: No, it’s not–it’s not that. Look, philip’s missing, grandfather. And with the evidence that we have, we have a reason to believe that he’s a victim of foul play.
Victor: Don’t give me “foul play.” You must suspect somebody. Who?
Shawn: Given the evidence that we have right now, our main suspect is brady.
[Monitor beeping]
Brady: Well, I guess I finally understand why you chose philip over me. After all these years, you still don’t trust me, do you?
Chloe: It’s not that. It’S… I guess it’s just what I saw, what I saw last night, it just–it brought back a lot of bad memories.
Brady: Hmm. I’m sorry about that. You know, you can go. You can go home if you want. You don’t need to stay here with me.
Chloe: Stop. Just stop. Look, it doesn’t matter what I think. I’m not a cop or a lawyer or anyone investigating this. So just stop it. Don’t get all worked up until we know more.
Brady: Don’t you understand it is always gonna matter to me what you think?
Belle: Oh, sorry. I should have knocked.
Brady: No, no, no, belle. It’s okay. Come on in; chloe was just–she was just telling me that she’s still not sure as to whether I did something to philip or not, so… how about you, sis? You think your big brother has it in him to kill someone? Is struggling to manage your type 2 diabetes
Belle: Listen, no one knows if a murder’s even been committed.
Brady: Oh, well, thanks for the glowing vote of confidence there.
Belle: Okay, well, don’t can’t take that attitude if the police come and question you.
Brady: That’s gonna happen?
Belle: I just came from the police station. And yeah, the da tried to talk shawn into arresting you.
Brady: Oh, come on. You can’t be serious.
Belle: I’m completely serious. But I told her I was your lawyer, and I pointed out all the weaknesses in her case and she backed off.
Brady: She backed off? This is insane. This can’t be happening, belle. This is–
Belle: You need to take this completely seriously, okay? The circumstantial evidence against you is accumulating.
Chloe: What do you mean? What evidence?
Belle: You know what, chloe? I’m here as brady’s lawyer. So I’m sorry, I have to ask you to leave.
Brady: No, no, no. No, chloe. You can’t kick her out of my room, okay? Whatever you have to say, I’m fine with her hearing.
Belle: The da could call chloe as a witness.
Brady: If it goes to trial. It won’T. Because I’m innocent.
Belle: Shawn got the results of the comparison between philip’s blood and the blood found on the knife. It’s a match.
Chloe: Oh, my god. Philip?
Victor: So the official police position is that my son was attacked by my grandson?
Shawn: It’s not official.
Victor: Well, then tell me what you know for sure.
Shawn: Well, chloe was the last person to see philip. They were down at the riverbank together. And they have reason to believe that brady had been there.
Victor: What reason?
Shawn: Well, they found his watch on the ground. So chloe left philip to go and find brady. And she didn’t have any luck. And when she returned at the riverbank, philip was gone, and brady was lying on the ground covered in blood. But it wasn’t his blood. And there was a knife that was next to him that had blood on it as well, but it wasn’t brady’s blood. Our labs ended up testing it, and it’s a positive match for philip’S.
Maggie: Oh. I can’t believe what I’m hearing.
Victor: I knew this was going to happen. I just knew it.
Maggie: Oh, victor, you’ve got to keep a cool head for philip’s sake and brady’S.
Shawn: Wait, hold on. What do you mean that you knew this was gonna happen?
Victor: Chloe lane was in the center of this whole thing. I knew that damn tramp would be the death of one of those boys.
Ej: Kidnapped?
Sami: Yes.
Nicole: Please, tell me you are not buying this.
Sami: It’s the truth. I went to rafe’s house to see gabi. I was gonna ask if I could stay in the mansion. But before I could even knock on the door, someone snuck up behind me and attacked me.
Ej: Hmm. And why should I believe you, samantha? Because you’re so forthright and honest? Because you would never think of spinning a far out story to get yourself out of trouble?
Sami: Trouble?
Nicole: Or maybe she was soaking up the sun at some five-star hotel.
Ej: Hmm. On my money.
Sami: Do I look like I have a tan? I don’t believe this. I’m your wife and the mother of your children. And somebody took a rag soaked with chloroform and dragged me off, held me prisoner for three months. And this is how you react?
Ej: I’m afraid so, pet. If you want a more horrified reaction to your tale of woe, I suggest telling lucas horton.
Sami: I did. That’s how I’m even standing here right now.
Ej: What?
Sami: Lucas is the one who rescued me.
Kate: You are alarmingly happy over this whole thing. Please don’t tell me that you have your hopes up for getting back with sami, please.
Lucas: Of all the women in the world, ej has to pick nicole to rebound with? Come on. Sami despises her more than anything. This could really do it, mom. This could really break the spell he has on her.
Kate: Yeah. Okay. And sami could also dig in her heels and fight.
Lucas: Anybody ever tell you you’re a big downer? You know that, right?
Kate: Yeah. Yes. You. Repeatedly. You know, lucas, I–I just don’t want to see you get your hopes up again. I really don’T.
[Phone rings] Victor. I wonder what he wants. Hey, hi. Why are you calling me this time of night? Is everything all right?
Victor: No, I’m afraid it isn’T. Can you come to the house?
Kate: When?
Victor: Now. It’s about our son.
Belle: From now on, brady, you have to be very careful about what you say and do.
Chloe: I had to keep him from leaving here and going to the river.
Belle: Are you out of your mind?
Brady: No. I’m gonna do whatever I have to do to clear my name. Chloe–chloe–chloe has doubts about what I did last night, and I’ve known her forever. So what do you think the cops think? What do you think this whole damn town thinks what happened?
Belle: It doesn’t matter. Forget all of that. Your only job right now is to try to piece together what happened after you left the pub.
Brady: Belle, I’m trying. I can’T. There’s nothing there. It’s blank. I’d call marlena to hypnotize me, but she’s a little busy with her problems right now.
Belle: That is not funny.
Brady: No, it’s not funny. What if they find philip at the bottom of the river? Everybody’s gonna think that I put him there.
Victor: Kate’s on her way over.
Maggie: Dear god. How do we break this to her? It’s–it’s every mother’s nightmare.
Shawn: Look, there’s still hope that philip is out there and he’s alive and well.
Victor: Well, if you believed that, you wouldn’t be dragging the damn river. You think philip’s dead, don’t you?
[Phone rings]
Shawn: Detective brady. Okay. All right. I’m on my way.
Victor: That about philip?
Shawn: The divers have found something.
Maggie: [Sighs]
[“Away in a manger” instrumental playing]
Lucas: Did victor give you any clue about what’s going on?
Kate: No. He just wants me come over right away. And somehow I don’t think it’s because philip’s getting a citizen of the year award, you know?
Lucas: You want me to go with you? Give you a little backup?
Kate: No. Thanks, honey. I think you’ve been through enough today already. You could stay here, though, until roman gets back. You know, it’s his bowling night.
Lucas: I will. No problem. I got it.
Kate: Okay. Thank you. Hey, I’ll let you know– let you know how it goes.
Lucas: Okay. Hey, mom. I’m sure philip is fine.
Kate: Yeah. No. I am–I’m sure he’s fine too. See you later.
Ej: You were being held prisoner and you called lucas?
Sami: No. I called allie. And lucas happened to be standing there. And he helped me figure out where I was, and he came and rescued me.
Nicole: How chivalrous of him.
Sami: Shut your mouth or i will shut it for you.
Ej: You never called me to say you were kidnapped.
Sami: I did call you, ej. Of course I called you. But your phone was dead. Maybe too much sexting with nicole.
Ej: All right. Fine. Let’s just say you were kidnapped. Why was there no ransom demand? Who would want the aggravation of holding you captive against your will unless there was money to be made?
Sami: We’re looking at her.
Nicole: What? You think I had you kidnapped?
Sami: Well, you got me out of the way so you could have your chance with ej.
Nicole: Oh. Okay. You know what? I have had enough. Why don’t you call me if and when you get this nutjob out of your life. Okay?
Ej: You only have one shoe on.
Nicole: Yeah. I’ll hop to the car if I have to.
Sami: Oh, no. You are not going anywhere until I’m through with you.
Nicole: Oh, sami. You know what? I wasn’t gonna stoop to your level. But then I thought, “why not?”
Ej: Tt’s enough. That’s enough. Samantha, you are not wanted here. This is no longer your house.
Sami: I was kidnapped. And you’re not letting me stay?
Ej: I will throw you out myself if I have to.
Sami: This isn’t over. Not by a long shot. Why give your family just ordinary eggs
Ava: So did you mean what you said before?
Rafe: Uh, what did I say?
Ava: Well, about you being in the christmas spirit. Cheers. Because we’re together this year.
Rafe: Why would you doubt that I meant that?
Ava: You know, I’m just–guess I’m feeling insecure, feeling that I’m not worthy of somebody as wonderful as you.
Rafe: Hey. Don’t you say that.
Ava: But you know how it goes, right? The more you care about someone the harder it is to be cool, and then you’re even more needy, and then you just want the reassurance that the other person feels the same way. Idiot.
Rafe: Okay. Hold on. I think I may know a way to reassure you.
Ava: Oh, yeah?
Rafe: Yeah.
Ava: Mm? Mmm. Hmm.
Rafe: Mm?
Ava: Yeah. That actually might be working.
Rafe: Okay.
Ava: But I think maybe you could try just a little harder.
Rafe: Well, that’s definitely worth a try.
Ava: Mm.
Ava: Mmm.
Nicole: Where’s my other shoe?
Ej: Nicole.
Nicole: Oh.
Ej: Allow me.
Nicole: Thanks. I’d say I feel like cinderella. But she didn’t have to bitch slap prince charming’s ex-wife to get her to leave when she found me and the prince in bed.
Ej: Did that upset you?
Nicole: [Scoffs] Well, it wasn’t my finest moment.
Ej: You know, you don’t have to leave.
Nicole: Yes, I do. It was fun while it lasted, ej, but–
Ej: But what? Samantha being back changes nothing.
Nicole: It changes everything, and you know it.
Ej: Not where you and i are concerned.
Nicole: But what if–what if sami was telling the truth and she was kidnapped?
Ej: Then for the sake of our children, I’m glad lucas brought her back safely. And as far as you and i are concerned, samantha is still in my past. And you are my future.
Sami: Daddy? Oh, daddy, I could use a cup of chowder and someone to talk to.
Lucas: Oh. Will I do?
Maggie: Would you, um, like anything, kate? A cup of tea?
Kate: Uh, no.
Victor: A drink?
Kate: A drink? No, thank you. Look, I’m here. So why don’t you just tell me what the emergency is?
Victor: I think you should sit down.
Kate: I–no, I don’t want to sit down. People only ask you to sit down when there’s bad news, victor. So just tell me. Was philip arrested?
Victor: No, it’s nothing like that. He’s missing, kate. And the police suspect foul play. They think someone may have hurt our boy…or worse.
[Monitor beeping]
Belle: The best thing that you can do right now is just stay here in the hospital and get better. Okay? We’ll leave the investigating to the police. And I’ll start putting your defense together.
Brady: Thank you. Thank you for getting here so quickly. Thank you for everything. I owe you.
Belle: Oh, yeah, you do. Just wait until you get my bill.
Chloe: [Laughs]
Brady: [Mumbles].
[Phone beeps]
Belle: Oh, um… shawn said the divers found something in the river.
Chloe: Oh, my god. Philip?
Melinda: What do you have for me?
Shawn: You’re about to find out.
Melinda: Good god, what is that?
Shawn: It’s a prosthetic leg. The only person I know that needs one of those is philip kiriakis.
