Hope: I think the mission will love these donations.
Brooke: Oh, good. Anything to help.
Hope: Okay, so wait, let me get this straight. Eric and quinn almost divorced a while ago, but then they called it off.
Brooke: Well, that’s before he knew about aunt donna’s feelings for him. I really think they might have another chance together.
Hope: I think that’s great. I would love that for her. After so much time apart, finally able to reconnect.
Brooke: You’re not thinking about your dad, are you?
Deacon: Hey, you know, housekeeping will do that.
Sheila: You keep them busy enough.
Deacon: Hey sheila, you know, I’ve been locked up in a six by six cell for a very long time. Forgive me if I wanna spread out a little bit.
Sheila: Yeah, well, you have been locked up for a while, which is–I would think you would want a little more than just some space. We are in a relationship now.
Deacon: A fake one.
Sheila: And if you play along, our children are going to totally believe we’re in love.
Katie: Hi.
Donna: Hey.
Katie: Uh… what are you doing?
Donna: Um…I was going to call you. Eric wanted to see you alone.
Katie: What happened?
Donna: It’s over.
Quinn: You’re back. Did you speak with donna?
Eric: Yes. I explained the situation to her. I told her that you felt that our interaction was inappropriate.
Quinn: Eric, she used a personal problem in our marriage to get closer to you. She conspired with her sisters to break us up.
Eric: I said yes, quinn. I did what you asked.
Quinn: I hope you know how happy I am that you can be intimate again. It’s what we’ve been hoping for. It’s just… it’s just how it happened, and I don’t think that my request was out of bounds.
Eric: It’s what you needed from me. Donna is packing up her things now and leaving forrester as we speak.
Brooke: Oh, god. There is no way your father and sheila are romantically involved.
Hope: Could it be a trick? Could it be one of sheila’s manipulations? Sure. I just I don’t want to believe that dad would do that to me after everything.
Brooke: Honey, that’s why I don’t want you involved with him. Because he is going to disappoint you and let you down.
Hope: But that’s not the only reason, is it? You’ve pretty much steered me away from my father most of my life, but why, why are you so dead set against me getting to know him?
Katie: Eric, fired you?
Donna: No, no. I said I would leave.
Katie: This whole thing, donna, is quinn’s mess, it’s not yours. What happened between you and eric should not impact your employment.
Donna: She knows how I feel about eric.
Katie: So what? She doesn’t make decisions about who gets fired and hired around here.
Donna: Stop! It’s over. It’s over. Eric chose quinn.
Quinn: I’m sorry you feel so drained. I don’t want you thinking I’m being callous or unkind. I’m not getting any joy out of this.
Eric: I respect your feeling, but I feel that forcing donna out of the company’s a total overreaction.
Quinn: I don’T. She crossed a line with my husband. Eric, I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. But donna thinks that she belongs with you and that’s why she had to go.
Deacon: Hope, your son, the forresters, they’re not stupid. They’re going to see right through this performance.
Sheila: That’s why we need to make everyone believe that we are a couple. We’ve got to give them proof. And what could be more convincing than a paper trail?
Deacon: Great. My letters from hope. This is your big plan.
Sheila: Our letters. Passionate correspondence between lovers that are just dreaming about the day they can be together.
Deacon: Sheila carter. The only problem is I never wrote you. And if I did, it definitely wouldn’t be whatever fantasy you concocted in this little gem.
Sheila: But you wrote to brooke and bridget, hope over and over.
Deacon: Hope’s the only one who responded.
Sheila: The letters were returned.
Deacon: Yeah.
Sheila: What could be more human than a love story? I can use those returned letters as templates. I mean, it could be key to helping me create a perfect narrative. I’m trying to create history for us here, deacon. The story of our love affair, and it is going to be so compelling that finn and hope and even the almighty forresters will never once doubt that we’re in a relationship.
Brooke: My number one concern is for you, hope.
Hope: You don’t want dad to let me down again.
Brooke: No, and he most certainly will. Your father isn’t the man that you wish he was.
Hope: Mom, I can’t defend his judgment, but I also don’t want to just write him off and I don’t know why you want me to. Why you won’t even let me give him a chance and… that makes me think that there’s something more to this for you.
Brooke: I won’t deny that my history with your father is painful to me. And yes, I do want to just put it all behind me. I mean, having him here in town and wanting to have a relationship with you, that does worry me, hope. And it, it fills me with a lot of shame.
Front loader odor.
Deacon: Do you really think running a con on our kids is the best way to get them to believe we’ve changed? I just, I wanted to do things differently this time. I wanted to be honest, really connect with my kid.
Sheila: Me too. But the forresters are never going to allow that. They forced us into this deception.
Deacon: So what we just… fabricate a relationship and the evidence to prove it?
Sheila: We’ve done worse.
Deacon: Yeah, that’s kind of the problem.
Sheila: Okay, we’re just telling a story here, deacon. That’s not going to hurt anyone.
Deacon: Except us if they see through it. All right, so, um… so we’re supposed to be soulmates, right? Where was our first date?
Sheila: Knowing you, it was a cheap one.
Deacon: Did you pick me up when I got out of prison? Sheila, if we slip up, if we get caught in a lie, it’ll prove the forresters right and we’ll never get a second chance with our kids.
Sheila: Just follow my lead, okay? Everything’s going to be all right.
Hope: So, there’s nothing good you can say about deacon?
Brooke: Oh. Well… without him, I wouldn’t have you. You have to know how precious you are to me.
Hope: I can also tell that this is hurting your feelings.
Brooke: Okay, look. You can’t help who your father is, and none of this is your fault. It’s just that with deacon back in town, his presence here. I mean, ridge and I are in a good space, and I don’t want him to disrupt that in some way.
Hope: I thought you and ridge were solid, right?
Brooke: Yeah. It’s just–I mean, some things really hurt to remember.
Hope: Was your time with dad really that bad?
Brooke: I did some indefensible things. I mean, I said that it just happened, when really… I allowed it to happen. I allowed your father to, to seduce me in ways… with his charm and his charisma. I was alone. Ridge wasn’t there. And deacon was, was there for me. What are you doing?
Deacon: What we’ve both been thinking about all night long.
Brooke: I can’T.
Deacon: Do you want me to leave?
Brooke: No. I made a mistake. The worst betrayal of my life. I, you know, honey. I slept with my… daughter’s husband. But, you have to know that you weren’t one of them. Honey. I’m so blessed to have you in my life. I’m so thankful for that. Why give your family just ordinary eggs
Katie: You mean so much to eric. He shouldn’t force you out just because quinn wants him to.
Donna: Quinn is his priority, katie. Eric doesn’t want me to leave. She had no choice.
Quinn: Eric. We vowed to put each other first. To always defend ourselves and our marriage. Today, you did that for me.
Deacon: This fake relationship thing? This is a bad idea.
Sheila: No, it’s the opportunity we’ve been looking for. This could be the pathway back to their lives. I… finn is my last opportunity to prove that I can be the mother I know I can be. All those horrible things that steffy said about me… that was in my past. I’m not that woman anymore, deacon. I’ve, I’ve paid for my mistakes. My other children, they… they don’t want to see me. They won’t have anything to do with me. Finn is my lifeline. My future. Hope is yours. We can be with them, our grandchildren. Just stick to the plan, please.
Hope: Can you at least admit that you saw something in my father? That you felt something.
Deacon: Last night, I felt this incredible… sense of stillness, of calm. Like I’ve been living in some kind of hurricane and I finally made it to the eye of the storm, and it’s raging outside. And now all there is is peace. And quiet. And you.
Brooke: It was… it was complicated, sweetheart.
Hope: I know about all the negatives that surround that time, and deacon’s let me down in the past too. He’s let a lot of people down, but… I have to imagine you saw some goodness in him, right? Because, then otherwise, there wouldn’t be me.
Deacon: Baby, please, I can’t stand seeing you hurt like this. I just–I want to help you, please. We can get through this. Just be honest with me.
Brooke: Yes. Yes. I’m pregnant.
Deacon: Oh, my god. Oh, my god, you’re pregnant with my baby.
Brooke: We were just freaked out. But when I told him, he was happy. He’s had a really hard life, you know? And yeah, yeah, there’s some good qualities there.
Hope: Then why can’t I see him? Ridge isn’t perfect, but you always have his back, and besides, the two of you weren’t even together at that point. Ridge was off with taylor. He’s my dad, why… why don’t I get a say in this? I’ve basically been kept separated from my father my entire life. And I don’t think I deserve that.
Deacon: Yeah I love you so much. I don’t ever want you to think that your dad is leaving you because I’m not. I just want to give you the best life that you can have. You know, brooke, most people, they just have memories. But you and me got this beautiful, little girl. Do me a favor and just tell her I love her every chance you get. Someday, the storm is going to clear, brooke. And when it does, you better believe it. I’m going to be right there waiting for you.
Hope: I’m sorry, but he’s my father and… honestly, I-I think he’S… fascinating. He’s led a very, very interesting life. He’s protective. He’s sweet. He has a wicked sense of humor.
Brooke: He’s also–
Hope: He’s also my dad, mom. And I know I will probably be let down, and I know I might have a really hard lesson to learn, but at least let me be the one to learn it. And it might have been your mistake all those years ago to even let him into your life, but now I… I… I’m the one paying the price. I want him in my life, mom. I want to give him a chance. Are you really going to to rob me of that? My own father?
