THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!
[ Grunts ] Watch it! I’ll take it from here, frank. I’ll stay close by. What was that about? Is that how you congratulate someone on a job well done? This is how I deal with liars. This is all… this is too much. Willow, you’re gonna be a nurse, okay? That’s a big deal, and we just… well, we want to celebrate your future, that’s all. Willow, what’s wrong? I just — I have a lot on my mind and…
[ Breathes sharply ]
[ Footsteps approaching ] I-I really need to — oh, shoot! She’s already here. All: Surprise! Mommy! Great. Okay. Can I help you? I’m good. Uh, I’m sorry. It’s just — it looks like you were in the kitchen. That’s for management and employees, not customers. Really? Is that how it’s gonna be? Where did jordan go? Taggert said that she went on a mission, and I’m guessing it leads to wyndemere. Jordan is hell-bent on finding esme prince. Evening, commissioner. I’m following up on our discussion about esme. Oh, I’m sorry, but now is just not a good time. Yeah, I’ll contact you to set up a meeting. That wasn’t a request. I have a warrant to search the premises for any evidence that may lead to esme prince’s whereabouts. So, how do you want to do this? The easy way or the hard way? Josslyn: Hey! It is so great that trina was exonerated. Where — where is she? Uh, she’s still in the courtroom. Why? She’s tying up some loose ends, so to speak. I’m so relievedthat you were exonerated. See, if you were to say that to me a couple days ago, I wouldn’t have believed you. Are you finally gonna tell me what changed? Everything. Starting with what? Starting with you. I-I did exactly what you asked. I talked to the head juror and made sure he knew it was in his best interest to acquit trina robinson. I mean, it’s not my fault the da threw out all the charges against her. Trina robinson’s charges were dropped? Yeah. Isn’t that what this is about? No. No, this is about the lies you’re feeding me. When you came to me, you wanted a position in my organization. You were telling me about your war record. But you left out that you left the military on bad terms. So I had my people digging. And it turns out that you were discharged after you assaulted a superior officer. So you tell me, dex — why should I expect you to respect the chain of command when it comes to my organization?
Olivia gave me permission to pick up the cake. We’re hosting a graduation party for willow by the pool. Oh, I didn’t realize. Well, olivia’s half-owner. She doesn’t have to run everything by you. That’s not what I meant. No, but you couldn’t wait to lord your new power over me, huh? Absolutely not, but I have the right to ask. You know, I am not interested in banning you from this hotel, carly, if that’s what you’re implying. It’s not. And you can’T. Your partner is one of my best friends, and I can go anywhere I want. You know what, carly? You’re not the only one. I really don’t like you either. But I am trying to make peace with the fact that we’re gonna be in each other’s lives now that sonny and i are together. Oh, you and sonny are together? It’s official, huh? Took you a year and a half, but you finally got what you wanted. My mommy’s a nurse. She saves people’s lives.
[ Laughter ] We’ve been rehearsing that line all day. Really? Well, yeah. He’s just really proud of everything you’ve accomplished. And I gave him a little coaching. Oh, honey, we are so proud of you. You’re gonna have this great career for the rest of your life. I’m sorry. I, uh — I think I’m having some morning sickness… at night.
[ Chuckles ] Excuse me. Was it something we said? Can you watch wiley real quick? Yeah, of course. I wouldn’t dream of interfering with a police investigation. Trust me [Sighs] I want esme found as much as anyone. In case you haven’t heard, the charges against trina robinson have been dismissed. The man who sold the black-market phone that recorded the revenge porn testified that he sold the phone to esme. That makes esme prince a person of interest for recording the revenge-porn video of josslyn jacks and cameron webber.
[ Scoffs ] Well, no wonder she left town, then. Yeah, I wish we had more information, but, uh, we don’t know what happened to esme. We’d like to start our search in esme’s bedroom. Oh, yes, of course. Um, officers, I’ll — I’ll show you the way. I’ll leave you to your search. I’d like to ask you a few questions first. I’ve been, uh, waiting for this moment for so long.
[ Speaking quickly ] But now that it’s here…
[ Speaking slower ] But now that it is here, I am strangely tongue-tied. Trina! We’re about to head home. Um, so many people want to wish you well, and we’re inviting some friends and family over to the house.
[ Chuckles ] Joss, cam, we would love for you to come. Sounds great, mom. Uh, I’ll meet y’all there. You sure about that? I’m fine, mom. I know what I’m doing. I love you. Oh, I love you, too.
[ Chuckles ] Mm. Mm! Okay. I’ll see you at the house. Okay.
[ Both chuckle ] So… what happened with you and the cops? Uh, I’m going back to prison.
[ Breathes sharply ] But not to spring ridge this time. Pentonville for three months. Oh, spencer, no. It’s what I deserve. But it was worth it to help you out. See, if — if I ran out of options, I was gonna testify that I was with you at the cemetery when the sex tape came out. I just never expected you to testify about it first. And you were in the clear completely. But you chose to risk your own future to help me out. And all this time you’ve been protecting esme, until you did a 180 and tried to help me. I don’t get it. Why did you do that?
and you and sonny decided to celebrate in my hotel. Oh, uh, a little reminder. It’s no longer your hotel. It’s mine. Don’t get too comfortable, nina. It’s your hotel for now. Oh, but you don’t have a job, so you don’t have an income. I would imagine it’s gonna be a few decades before you’re in a position to try and buy back my half of the metro court. Are you taunting me? Are you gloating about your big win? It must be refreshing to show your true colors, because that gracious act you turn on for sonny — it must be exhausting. No, you know what’s really refreshing, is seeing this whole new change of pace now that you’ve lost sonny and you’ve lost your business. So when you decide now to spit your venom, you have to aim up, not down.
[ Crying ] Willow, hey, hey. What’s going on? Uh, it — it — hormones, I guess. I-I’m just — I’ve just been feeling a bit overwhelmed from graduation earlier today and the pregnancy. My emotions are way out of whack. I-I just — I just need a minute to get it together. Well, I’ll wait with you… you know, I-I’d feel a lot better if you go back to the pool and just make sure that everyone at the party doesn’t think I’m ditching them. I-I am the guest of honor, after all. I’ll come back soon. Okay. I’ll see you soon. Okay. Okay. I don’t understand. I’ve already told you everything I know. I’m not seeing the need for a return visit. Standard procedure. Now that trina’s been freed and the suspicion has been shifted to esme, we all want the same thing — answers — and justice for the victims, josslyn and cameron. So let’s start with the basics. When was the last time you saw esme? I already told you it was a few days ago. Any indication of where she went? No. Could she be staying with family? As far as I know, esme doesn’t have family, at least none that are close. Her adoptive parents are deceased.
[ Door opens ] But to clarify, you were the last person to see esme here at wyndemere. Ava: No. I was. I so get it. I’m sure that my testimony at your trial makes zero sense to you. But I promise that if you’ll just hear me out — bad time?
[ Sighs ] No. You’re just in time. Spencer, I am truly sorry that you are going back to prison. And I am so, so glad that you finally opened your eyes to see the kind of person esme was all along. I just wish it would have happened sooner. For my sake. And for yours. Spencer. Why didn’t you tell trina the truth? At least this is more private. I don’t know what we have left to talk about. You and sonny are together, and I can’t think of two people who deserve each other more, who convinced themselves they’re heroes in their own stories. Listen, I’m not gonna waste my breath asking you to be civil, but maybe I can ask you this. Can we just not engage with each other, not just for sonny’s sake, but for the children, for donna? Yeah, I’m gonna stop you right there. You’re never gonna have a relationship with donna, ever. You’re not gonna see her. You’re not gonna spend time with her. You’re gonna be as big a factor in donna’s life as you are in wiley’s, and that’s non-existent.
ry. And whose fault is that? You purposely misled me. Did you really think I wasn’t gonna find out why you left the military? I didn’t care. Yeah, what you found out is true. But I would do it again in a heartbeat. You got two minutes to explain it. I’m the youngest of three brothers. My brothers used to smack me around. I don’t mean roughhousing, okay? My parents used to write it off as boys being boys, but it wasn’T. Okay, I must’ve been sent to the hospital at least five times. What about your parents? They did nothing. That’s why I joined the military — to get away from them the second I could. I did a tour in afghanistan. You can see that on my record. But when I got sent to germany, it was supposed to be an upgrade, okay? Away from the front lines. Families lived there. Including my superior officer’S. He was a complete jerk. He was toxic with his soldiers. Apparently he was even worse to his own family. He had a reputation for smacking his wife around, did the same thing to his kids. The really messed-up thing is that everyone whispered about it, but no one did anything. Until one day i did. I don’t know if I got the son of a bitch to stop, but at least his family knew that someone tried. When I was a kid, I was too small to fight back against my brothers. But as a man, I could stand up for that family. You can have as much fun as you want with sonny. Donna is not included. Now, me — I’m going back outside to celebrate willow’s graduation with the rest of my family, and I don’t know if you’ve heard, but it’s expanding. Yes, I’ve heard. Congratulations. And just for the record, carly, I’m not trying to hone in on your family. You made it perfectly clear that I’m not welcome. Especially now that willow has replaced and eliminated my daughter from wiley’s life. Carly: Oh, my god, it’s true. Nina’s willow’s mother. No one did that to you, nina. You did this to yourself. And it’s a shame that you still don’t realize that you deserve everything you’re getting. Sorry for the guest of honor’s abrupt exit. Well, is she all right? Yeah, it’s just with the baby on the way and, you know, just graduating nursing school, she’s just a little overwhelmed right now, but, uh, she’ll be back. Look, we’re happy to celebrate whenever willow’s ready. Ah, hear, hear.
[ Chuckles ] Sweetie, come. Let’s go get a drink. Come on. Hey. All right. Okay. Please tell me that you did not run into sonny and nina on their date night. Just nina. Unbelievable.
[ Laughs ] It’s okay. Unbelievable! Hey, she’s welcome to him. I’m ready for what comes next in my life. Thought I might find you out here.
[ Door closes ] Are you okay? I’m fine. I’ll rejoin the party soon. Okay. Uh… look, if — if you really want to be alone, you know I’ll respect that. I just think I know more about what possibilities are going through your head than anyone else. Except it’s not… a possibility anymore. It’s definite. Dr. Randolph told me the biopsy confirmed your theory. I have leukemia. Honey, you’re home. Yes. Mwah. And I see we have company. Ava, you were at trina’s trial. No doubt you understand how vital it is that we find esme. Mm. Nothing would make me happier than finding esme and seeing to it that she pays for her crimes. I only wish there was more that — that we could tell you.
[ Gasps ] I do know that esme was aware that oz haggerty was a patient at general hospital. Is that it? Um, well, she — she had a suitcase with her. She said that she was going on a trip, but after haggerty’s testimony, I can only assume that esme was making a run for it while she still could. You know, if I could offer you a little advice, I would say, do not underestimate that young woman. I’m sure she’s planning to disappear for a while. And that’s why we’re gathering as much information as we can. Your husband already said that we could take a look around. Yes, of course. Be my guest. Spencer, what are you doing? She doesn’t know the full story yet. I agree that trina has the right to know the truth, okay? And of course it matters that you believed in trina the whole time, spencer. But [Sighs] You still lied to her, and you enabled esme by not coming forward sooner in your alibi. I-I know. I know. But I was trying to fix things because I needed to be the one to save trina because… because? Because why? Because you couldn’t take responsibility for your own actions? Because you didn’t trust trina? No, because I love her. You love her? Yeah. Spencer, if you mean that, now is the time to tell her the truth. I have something for you. I hope it’s not too corny. Oh, it’s the same one as the one you brought me that day in the interrogation room. Also known as the day we met. Thank you. And for the record, it’s just the right amount of corny.
[ Chuckles lightly ] I don’t want to step on your big celebration, but if you’re up for it, I would like to see what the future has in store with you.
So you’re telling me that you are just absolutely fine with sonny and nina living happily ever after? I never said I wanted them to be happy.
[ Laughs ] I’m just saying that I have moved on. I’m at peace with what happened. So [Snaps fingers] Next.
[ Laughs ] And you’re trying to tell me that this peace after divorce with sonny’s got nothing to do with drew? Oh, would you stop? There’s nothing going on between drew and me except… friendship, that’s all. Right. And you’re telling me that you’ve never even
thought about what it would be like to be more than friends? No, no. I mean, that — that would be a really bad idea. And why is that exactly? What was that little head nod? Was that — was that about the dna results, or was that because willow doesn’t know yet? It was the results. I heard from the lab. And? Nina’s not willow’s mother. Wow. I guess that’s for the best. Drew is a really good friend. And in a world where I don’t have jason, I can’t risk losing another good friend. And yet every time I see you talk about him, you get a great, big, silly grin on your face.
[ Laughs ] I only get a great, big, silly grin on my face because I’m finally at peace with what happened, and I am so ready to move on with my life. Now, that is a sentiment that I can get behind. Thank you. Cheers. Cheers. Cheers. Cheers. I am so sorry. I wish my diagnosis was wrong. No, who knows how much worse it could have been if you hadn’t trusted your instincts? I mean, the way I see it, I owe you so much, because at least now I know what the issue is. And you know that there are ways to fight this. Right.
[ Crying ] Just all of my options feel like a lose-lose situation right now. Because you’re also pregnant. Britt and terry explained there could be complications with the baby if I begin treatment in the first trimester.
[ Breathes sharply ] We just didn’t get into specifics. I’m supposed to talk to both of them tomorrow.
[ Sighs ] I’m not going to weigh in. Neither oncology nor ob are my fields of expertise. But you cannot have a better team than britt westbourne and terry randolph. I know. In a lot of ways, I’m — I’m lucky. It’s just… michael and I were so happy when we found out I was pregnant. I know. And I know that you didn’t want to worry michael until you got a diagnosis, and that makes sense. But now that you know what’s at stake, you — you are gonna tell michael, aren’t you? It’s important that you and trina celebrate this win, you know? Yeah.
Feel the joy.
[ Laughs ] No, really. You and trina — y’all been waiting to exhale for months now. So no more fears. No more worries. You’ve earned this victory lap. And so did you. You have been there with me every single step of the way.
[ Breathes sharply ] And oz wouldn’t have even been an option to testify if it wasn’t for you and marshall finding him. Honey, I owe you everything. Baby, you don’t owe me anything. You’re my family. Mm. And I feel the same way about trina. Now, don’t get me wrong, I know taggert is trina’s father, but let me tell you something — I’m gonna love her just like she’s mine.
[ Cellphone rings ] Yes? Do you have a location? Yes. Yes. I’m on my way. Officers, I’m ending the search. Let’s go. Uh, jordan, what’s going on? I’ve been notified that esme posted a rant on social media trashing trina’s acquittal. The post was geotagged to the south of france. Sounds like you both were right. Esme managed to get out of town, but her anger got the better of her. And now we know how to track her. I need to notify the authorities in france. Thank you for your cooperation. Yeah, of course. Happy to help. -I’ll be in touch. -Mm-hmm. Thank you. Thank you. Good night. What was that?
[ Exhales deeply ]
That was a close call. Huh? Hold on. Oh, my god. If commissioner jordan had looked on the terrace and found esme’s suitcase —
[ Exhales sharply ] We’re really lucky. Lucky? If esme is posting on social media, nikolas, she’s not dead. She’s very much alive, and she could ruin both our lives. Oh, I wouldn’t be so sure about that. So, does this make me your girlfriend? I don’t know. Does this make me your boyfriend?
[ Chuckles ] Well, why don’t you walk me to my place, and we’ll take it from there? Yeah. I’d like that. That was quick. So how’d it go? I didn’t tell her. And I never will.
And by “destroy,” I-I simply meant that if, um, esme has slipped up and given her location away, then, well, the only thing that’s more dangerous than a sociopath is a sociopath that’s off their game, right? Oh, come on, ava. Give it up. I know everything. You do? What the hell is wrong with you?! Well, sadly, your husband is a terrible liar. Don’t I know it. And you may think that esme being alive solves our problems, but the reality is she could try to pin an attempted-murder charge on me now that she’s alive and well and posting disgusting stuff online. No, esme didn’t post anything. Well, then what did jordan see? Oh, that was my handiwork. You see, I took the liberty of reaching out to an old colleague. Now, the two of us parted ways with the wsb on, ah, less than stellar terms. He owed me a favor, so I had him hack into esme’s myface page. I gave him a few juicy details, and then he ran with it.
[ Laughing ] Well, uncle victor. Thank you very much. I-I owe you one. Yeah, well, let’s not break open the bubbly quite yet. Those fake posts won’t hold up under much scrutiny. What they will do is buy us enough time to destroy the evidence.
But none of that will matter unless the two of you get on the same team. Uh, I — you don’t know what you’re asking. Look, if I’ve learned anything over the years, it’s that nothing motivates forgiveness quicker than mutual jeopardy. You two need to be a united front because [Scoffs] Like it or not, we’re all in this together. Portia: [ Laughing ] You’re so silly. Mom, curtis, we have company.
[ Squeals ] I’m so glad you’re home! Oh! Uh, where’s dad? I thought he’d be here by now. Uh, taggert’s out spreading the good news. Yes, he’s picking up a feast for us from the port charles grill. Ooh, okay. And, rory, you’re more than welcome to stay and celebrate with us. Marshall’s on his way. Aunt stella is coming. And you know what? I’m gonna text tj, see if he’ll join us. Great. Unless all of this is, you know, just — just too overwhelming for you — no! This is perfect. I’m gonna let you celebrate with your family. I’ll check in with you tomorrow. What? No, you don’t have to go. You heard my mom. She invited you to join us, so please do. That’d be great.
[ Chuckles ] When I went out there, trina was talking to rory. Uh, they were kissing and wondering if they should start calling each other boyfriend and girlfriend. Okay, that’s because trina doesn’t have all the facts yet. Trina deserves to be happy. For god’s sake, I have not been able to give that to her. The only thing that I’ve given her are lies and grief. And so what? Am I supposed to step on her and rory’s happiness, mess with her head and say, “oh, by the way, I have feelings for you, too, and I’m off to prison for three months”? Look, there is nobody happier about rory and trina than I, okay? But you still owe her the truth, spencer. Why? Why does trina need to know the truth? Why does she need to know that I’ve always believed in her and that I love her? Don’t put that on her. It doesn’t matter. And you two both need to promise that you are not going to tell her anything. I understand your point, okay? We don’t want to place any more stress on trina either. But there’s been so much lying going on. She’s my best friend. I cannot promise you that I’m gonna keep this from her forever. Okay, but is it really going to make trina happier to know the truth, josslyn? Dex: They offered me a discharge. The brass figured that would make much less of a stink than an investigation that might turn up how my superior officer was treating his family. I took the deal and was out. But for a few brief seconds, I got to do the right thing, and I wouldn’t change that for the world. I can understand that. Really? Without getting into all the gory details, you know, everything you talked about as far as your family violence as a kid, I lived through it. But you still lied to me. It’s unacceptable. Why would I trust you? I never said you should. I just said you can count on me. I’m not sure it’s that simple, no matter how sympathetic I am to your story. So that’s it? One strike and I’m out? Is that what it is? No, what it means is I need time to think. About what? Whether you’re worth all the trouble. From trina robinson’s trial, in case it matters to you to see how the jury voted.
[ Door closes ] Um, you know what? I need a little ice. It’s getting hot in here.
[ Laughs ] I mean, warm, like it’s getting muggy, you know? Ooh! I’m gonna get some ice.
[ Chuckles ] Oh. Hey, um, earlier, when I was setting up, I got a text from mia. She asked me for your contact information. Oh, what for? I guess there is a — a corporate coaching retreat in aruba next week, and she thought you might be interested in going. Aruba? Mm-hmm. Oh, wow. Gosh, that sounds perfect…
[ Chuckles ] …Especially with trina’s trial being over. I don’t suppose mia invited you, too? I just think you might feel better if you talked to michael about this. Well, I am still processing all of this. And I was just about to tell michael, but then this party happened tonight. You’re not under any obligation to put on a happy face for the — the sake of a party. Don’t do that on our account, okay? Michael, wiley, and I are due one last good night before everything gets shot to hell. This can keep quiet until after the party, after my follow-up. Well, I can understand that.
[ Cellphone chimes ] It’s from my uncle curtis. Trina’s verdict came in. Oh, my god. T-that’s huge. What is it? Yes! It’s — it’s — it’s good news. The charges were dropped. What?! That’s — that’s amazing! I am so glad someone got good news today. Hey, I-I can — I can join my family later if you need support here. No, go. But it’s — it’s — be with your family. But it’s — it’s not — no buts. I’ll be fine. I promise. I do thank you. I lucked out making a friend like you.
