Ben: Well, it seems like the least I could do, seeing as that you are carrying my child. And you’re putting up with my dad bunking with us.

Ciara: Wow, that is just so thoughtful of you, clyde.
Clyde: And–bear with me on this, I do have an idea about what to name the little fella. I was hoping I could run it by you.
Ben: Go for it.
Clyde: What do you think about clyde benjamin weston, jr?
Lani: Hi, baby. I just talked to jules. Um, paulina can’t get her to sleep. As soon as she heard my voice, she said, “soon dada home?”
[Laughs] She said that because, well, I guess I tell her a version of that every night before she says her prayers. Jules and carver, they miss you so much. And so do I. Baby, please, please, please wake up. Okay, because I don’t know, I don’t know how I’m gonna do this. I don’t know how I can go on without you. Please.
[Baby crying]
Paulina: Ooh, little girl, please. I know you miss your daddy. I know you want your pacifier. I can’t find the damn thing. Oh. Ooh. You need to sleep. Grandma paulina needs a glass of wine. Oh. Ugh.
[Line trilling]
[Line beeps] Voicemail again?
[Sighs] It’s me again, ray. Now, you said that you’d help out with the twins tonight. Where the hell are you? Ooh.

Ej: Hello.
Beth: Hi. My name is beth. I’m looking for johnny dimera. I’m in his movie, and I haven’t heard from him in quite a while.
Ej: I’m johnny’s father. I’m sorry to tell you this, but johnny’s left town.
Beth: When will he be back?
Ej: I wish I knew. At this point, I don’t know if he’ll ever be back.
Johnny: Somebody… help me.
Chanel: I’m here, G.

Ben: Clyde benjamin weston, jr?
Clyde: Yeah.
Ben: Yeah, that sounds, ah–
Ciara: It actually– you know, it can’t even be clyde benjamin weston, jr, because, um, the baby is your grandson, so it would have to be clyde benjamin weston iii.
Clyde: The third, really?
Ciara: Mm-hmm. Yeah. “The third,” and that kind of sounds a little…
Ben: Like he’s gonna be made fun of for the rest of his life.
Ciara: Yeah.
Clyde: Yeah, I never thought of that. Well, it don’t matter, you know. Whatever you name the little guy, I’m gonna love him to death. I’m gonna give him everything I– everything I should’ve given you.
Ciara: We–we really hope we didn’t hurt your feelings.
Clyde: Nah. Not at all. I met this nice lady today. We’re going out on a date.
Ciara: Oh. Well, that’s great. Are you guys going out tonight?
Clyde: Nah, she got a wedding to go to. We’re gonna go out to– oh, I get it! Yeah-ha-ha! You want a little alone time tonight, don’t you?
Ben: Yeah, a little bit would be good, yeah.
Clyde: Yeah. All right, hey. Don’t worry about me. I’ll find something to keep me busy. Enjoy the balloons.
[Laughs]

Ej: Johnny left a letter. I didn’t read it until after he was gone. He said that he needed to go back to italy to do some soul-searching.
Beth: So he just took off and didn’t let anyone in the cast know?
Ej: Or any member of his family.
Beth: So you don’t know anything more than I do?
Ej: No. But if he does contact me, I’ll tell him to give you a call.
Beth: Okay. Thanks.
Ej: You’re welcome. Have a good night.
Lani: Any change?
Tripp: I’m sorry.
Lani: I wasn’t expecting anything.
Tripp: We use what’s called the glasgow scale to evaluate a comatose patient. Based on the exam, we give the patient a certain number. Unfortunately, eli’s number hasn’t changed.
Lani: Um, thank you for taking the time to explain that.
Tripp: Happy to do it.
Lani: Yeah, um, it’s really kind of you. I actually wasn’t expecting that.
Tripp: Wasn’t expecting what?
Lani: For you to be so generous and attentive with your time.
Tripp: Why wouldn’t I be?
Lani: Because I know how bad chanel and allie hurt you.
Johnny: Can you get me out of these chains?
Chanel: Okay, I–I don’t know how; I’d have to find a key or something.
Johnny: Okay, okay. Just– just go up to the house and tell them I’m here.
Chanel: Okay. I will. But first I have to tell you something. It’s about allie. Okay, so I knew there was something off about her when she came back to nicole’s yesterday. And then I found out that the cake that we made for ben and ciara’s gender reveal party, it didn’t have the right filling. It was supposed to be blueberries, but it looked like blood. And she told ben and ciara that I did it.
Johnny: Okay, chanel, uh, I’ve–I’ve been chained up here for what feels like forever. I was afraid I was gonna die in here, and you’re talking about freaking cake?
Chanel: I just need you to understand that I had it out with allie, and then–I don’t know how to tell you this, but allie is possessed. So allie didn’t do this to you. The devil did it, because the devil is in allie now.
Johnny: Yes, yes, yes. I know that already.
Chanel: You do?
Johnny: Yes. And there is so much more that I need to tell you, chanel. I still love you. I never stopped.
Chanel: I’m so sorry, G. I never should’ve given up on you. I’m so sorry.
Johnny: No, no, no, no. It’s okay; you don’t have to apologize for anything. It was me. I mean, it–it wasn’t me, but– look, can you please just get me out of these chains?
Chanel: Okay. Okay. I’ll try to see if I can find something to pry them off.
Demon allie: [Laughing] Gotcha. This is the sound of nature breathing.
[Baby crying]
[Knocking on door]
Paulina: Oh. Finally. Oh, I’m gonna give that ray coates such a piece of my mind. Come in; door’s open. Oh, abe.
Abe: Well, looks like you were expecting someone else.
Paulina: I was– I thought it was ray. I needed help with the kids, and he volunteered.
Abe: Yeah, right. Well, I came by because I found this under a table in my living room.
Paulina: Oh! Thank goodness. Look what grandpa abe found. Here you go. Here’s your little fooler.
Abe: I’m glad I found it.
Paulina: Ohh. Now, if that doesn’t put her to sleep, I don’t know what I’ll do.
Abe: You know, jules likes it when I sing “my girl.”
Paulina: But abe, you can’t sing.
Abe: Well, jules thinks I can.
[Baby crying]
Paulina: You win. Okay.
Abe: All right. You got it. You hear that, jules? You’re gonna get a song from grandpa.
Paulina: [Gasps] Aww. Look at that smile.
Abe: [Chuckling]
Paulina: Mm. [Laughs]
Beth: Tr. Tr, open the door now. I need to talk to you.
Tr: Coming.
[Groaning]
[Sighs] The hell’s gotten into you?
Beth: Did you know johnny dimera left town?
Tr: What you talking about?
Beth: Your director, he’s gone. And his father doesn’t know if he’ll ever be back. Why didn’t you tell me?
Tr: Because I– I didn’t know anything about it.
Beth: You’re high as a kite, aren’t you?
Lani: I hope you know that chanel, she feels terrible that you got hurt in all this.
Tripp: I feel bad too. I said some mean things to her, and what happened was not her fault. Is there anything else I can do for you?
Lani: Bring my husband back.
Tripp: Wish I could. But eli’s stable. His condition isn’t deteriorating. And I’ve seen comatose patients regain consciousness after months and months. Hey, don’t give up.
Lani: I won’T. I promise. Um, thank you. Thank you for giving me hope.
Johnny: So you’re not chanel?
Demon allie: No, of course I’m not. Did you really think chanel would come to your rescue?
Johnny: Yeah. I did.
Demon allie: After what you did to her? She hates you now.
Johnny: I didn’t do any of that to her. You did. And once she finds out the truth, we’re gonna be back together.
Demon allie: You are locked up in a tomb getting weaker and weaker. I’d face reality if I were you.
Johnny: But you’re not me. Not anymore.
Demon allie: There’s something I want to show you. But first–
[Cell phone ringing]
Chanel: What do you want, johnny?
Devil as johnny: Hey, chanel. I’ve got some news for you.
Chanel: Okay, I’m at the hospital right now. And I know you probably don’t care, but my brother-in-law is in a coma, so I don’t really give a damn about anything you have to say.
Devil as johnny: Oh, I think you’ll care about this a lot. With depression, you just feel…blah.
Ej: Ugh, how the hell did you get on the property?
Clyde: Wasn’t very difficult.
Ej: Well, you wasted your time; you’re not welcome here.
Clyde: Not a very warm welcome for your old cellmate. Got anything to drink?
[Tense music]
Mm. Yeah. To life on the outside, huh? Mm, want to tell you how sorry I was I couldn’t accept your little job offer.
Ej: Mm. Yet you were salivating over that offer until your son walked in. Trying to make him believe you’ve changed? Good luck with that.
Clyde: It’s not just ben now, you know. I’m gonna have a new grandson any day now.
Ej: Mm, you said that before. Stop with the rubbish and tell me what you’re really doing here.
Devil as johnny: I’m back in italy now. I decided to sign the divorce papers you served me. You’ll be getting them soon.
Chanel: Good.
Devil as johnny: Oh, and my lawyer says I don’t have to pay a penny of alimony. I hear allie dumped you too. Nobody seems to want you, chanel. What a lonely feeling that must be.
Chanel: Is twisting the knife the only fun you get out of life? And I can’t believe I ever loved you.
Demon allie: I told you. She’s not coming to your rescue. No one is.
Tripp: Chanel? Hey, what’s wrong?
Chanel: Like you care, you big jerk.
Tripp: Okay, yeah, I have that coming. I had no business going off on you.
Chanel: Well, that didn’t stop you.
Tripp: Look, I had some time to think and cool off. And if you and allie want to be together, then I hope it works out for you.
Chanel: We’re not together and we never will be.
Tripp: What happened?
Chanel: Allie dumped me, even faster than her brother did.
Tr: Relax. We don’t need johnny dimera. I can direct this movie myself.
Beth: But he wrote the movie. What if the investors pull out when they find out he’s no longer attached?
Tr: Let ’em. I’m not worried about money. I told you, I can get everything I need from paulina. I can get my hands on her money once I marry her.
Beth: Women like paulina price don’t get to where they are by being fools. She might have a problem with you pumping all her hard-earned money into a movie.
Tr: If she does, I can make that problem go away. Just like I did with my daughter’s cop husband.
Beth: What the hell does that mean?
Paulina: Well, I got to hand it to you, you started singing and she went right off to sleep.
Abe: What’d I tell you?
Paulina: But I’m pretty sure that david ruffin’s legacy is still intact.
Abe: Oh, yes. I am too.
[Both laughing]
Paulina: [Yawning]
Abe: Am I boring you?
Paulina: No, no, no. It’s just that, you know, taking care of two little ones, well, I’m just exhausted. Maybe I don’t have what it takes to be a grandma.
Abe: Oh, that’s not true.
Paulina: Not a good grandma. Also, I’m–I’m just a wreck about poor eli. You know, I try to keep it together, but thinking about lani sitting next to eli’s bed, it just–it breaks my heart.
Abe: Mine too.
Paulina: I’m glad you came by. It means the world to me.
Abe: Aww.
Paulina: Aww. My asthma felt anything but normal.
Beth: You’re the one who shot that cop, aren’t you? I knew you were lying.
Tr: [Growls] Stop sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong. Keep your mouth shut, you learn your lines, and leave the rest to me. Once I get control of paulina, I’ll–
[Scoffs] I was supposed to be at her place two hours ago. I got to get cleaned up.
Beth: Yeah, well, you better clean your act up, or both of our plans will go up in smoke. My god in heaven.
Abe: Mm. Oh. I–I’m sorry, I’m sorry.
Paulina: For what?
Abe: Part of me– part of me will always love you. But I just– I just don’t want my heart to be broken again.
Paulina: Well, of course. Of course you don’T. I was pushing too far just now. I guess I was telling myself that we might be able to get past what happened. It looks like I was wrong.
Abe: You know, it doesn’t mean that you can’t call me any time that jules and carver get to be too much for you. I will drop whatever I’m doing and come straight here. I mean that.
Paulina: Thank you.
Abe: Good night. Good night, paulina.
[Soft dramatic music]
Paulina: [Sighs]
Johnny: You bastard.
Demon allie: You should’ve believed me when I told you chanel was done with you. Last time you broke her heart, she had sex with allie. I wonder what she’s going to do this time. That’s not my problem. I have bigger irons in the fire. I have to go check on my baby.
Johnny: Henry? Hey, don’t you hurt henry.
Demon allie: Not him, you moron. I’m talking about ciara’s baby. I have big plans for that little boy.
Johnny: Please don’t do anything to that baby.
Demon allie: I’m not going to hurt him. Why would I do that? But ciara’s due date is coming up, and I think it might be time to get rid of the daddy. He’s getting in my way.
Johnny: So what? You’re gonna kill ben?
Ben: Mm. Do you remember when we first started talking about having a baby?
Ciara: Mm-hmm. Yeah, I brought it up, and I took you totally by surprise.
Ben: Yes, you did. And honestly, I was just too scared back then, and I wish I was just on board from the beginning.
Ciara: So you got scared. So what? Who cares? You got over it, and now you’re looking at this beautiful adventure with open eyes.
Ben: Open eyes. And honestly, having this baby is one of the two best things that has ever, ever, ever, ever happened to me.
Ciara: Oh, my god, I can’t wait to meet this little guy.
Ben: I can’t wait either, and we got to name this little guy.
Ciara: Aww.
Ben: Do you remember when we both had that dream, and we named our kid bo?
Ciara: Mm-hmm. And now that we know it’s a boy, baby, I’d really like to name him after my father. Like, a lot. But what would your dad think?
Ben: It doesn’t matter what my dad would think. He is not naming our kid. And we are not naming our kid clyde. No offense to the clydes out there.
Ciara: Okay, so bo something weston. Are you okay with that?
Ben: I am okay with that. A lot.
Ciara: [Chuckles]
Demon allie: Forget about ben weston. The person you should be worried about is chanel.
Johnny: You leave her alone.
Demon allie: Hey. I have an idea. Chanel said she was going to the hospital. You’re the movie buff. Here’s something to keep you entertained.
Chanel: Allie looked at me like she was looking at a table or a tree, not a human being who was hurting because of her.
Demon allie: Well, well, well, what do we have here?
Tripp: Yeah, no wonder you’re not in good shape.
Chanel: And johnny just called to rub it in.
Tripp: I could never stand that little punk. I do not know what you saw in him.
Chanel: Well, I don’t see it anymore. He and his sister, they did a number on me, and I just wish I never met either one of them.
Tripp: I’m with you there. Look, I just got off duty. You want to–you want to get a drink or something?
Chanel: Oh, I’m here to see lani.
Tripp: Some other time.
Chanel: But… I’m no good to her like this. So why the hell not?
Demon allie: I have a feeling you’re not gonna like this next part. But it’s worth watching. Stay tuned.
[Eerie music]
Still struggling with ibs-c, mike knew he needed a plan.
[Knocking on door]
Paulina: Finally. Must be tr, two hours late. Door’s open; come in. Your timing’s great. Twins are asleep.
Tr: I am so sorry. I got stuck on a conference call with the coast.
Paulina: Whatever.
Tr: I can tell something happened. Is it your son-in-law?
Paulina: No. Eli’s the same.
Tr: Well, you look– you look down.
Paulina: Abraham stopped by. I made a damn fool of myself.
Abe: I brought something to keep you going.
Lani: Is this a vanilla milkshake?
Abe: Yeah. It’s your favorite, right? And sandwich in the bag.
Lani: Thank you. It’s really sweet of you, dad. It’s so hard to keep seeing him like this.
Abe: You know, you don’t have to be here all the time.
Lani: I spend as much time as I can with the kids. And then when they’re asleep, I feel like this is where I have to be. Like I–I have to keep telling eli how much I love him and how– how much I want him back, dad. I want him back.
[Crying]
Clyde: Your offer got me thinking. You know, we made a lot of money when we did business together a few years ago. Thinking we could do the same thing again.
Ej: My offer to help you leave salem is on the condition you never come back. I have no interest in forming any sort of partnership with you.
Clyde: Oh, I ain’t leaving salem. I am staying right here. But I am getting a little tired of working for minimum wage at the brady pub. So if we could make a deal, it could work out very well for you too.
Ej: How so?
Clyde: I’d do all the legwork. All you have to do is bankroll the operation and sit back and count your profits. Nobody has to know you’re involved. You’re a silent partner.
Ej: Mm. I know how you make silent partners, with a bullet in the back.
Clyde: [Laughs] Man, those days are over. I do have to keep up appearances, you know. And you can hardly afford to be picky, man. You don’t even have a job.
Ej: Just out of curiosity, what business were you thinking of?
Clyde: Well, there’s a small window of opportunity here. The, uh, local dealer has overdosed–
Ej: Drugs? I have no intention of getting involved in that.
Ben: I really wish that I got the chance to know your dad.
Ciara: I know, baby. Me too. I miss him more and more every day. But it’s like I can feel him rooting for us and little baby bo. It’s like our kid has a guardian angel protecting him no matter what.
[Knocking on door]
[Groans]
Ben: Please, please, please don’t let this be clyde telling me he left his damn keys.
[Sighs] Allie, hey.
Allie: Is it too late?
Ben: Too late? No. Come on in. Look who’s here.
Ciara: Allie. Hi. It’s so good to see you.
Allie: Same here. And you know, I still feel bad about your party cake, so I was hoping I could make it up to you. I was on an antidepressant,
Ciara: Oh, my goodness. Allie, the party cake was not your fault.
Allie: It was chanel’s, true, but still. Anyway, I know that it can be really hard to sleep during your last trimester.
Ciara: Mm-hmm. Yeah, it’s been so hard for me to get comfortable.
Allie: Well, I finally found this tea that I had when I was pregnant with henry. It is the most relaxing stuff ever.
Ciara: You are an angel, because I could really, really use a good night’s rest.
Ben: Yeah, she’s been a little wound up.
Ciara: Yeah.
Allie: Well, how about I make a cup of this for you right now?
Ciara: That would be great.
Ej: And you’re not really interested in running drugs.
Clyde: Know me better than I know myself, hm?
Ej: You think that if you get me involved in something illegal, you’ll have enough leverage to stop me from telling the authorities that you ordered a hit on me.
Clyde: Well, you’re giving me way too much credit, ej. I’m more of an open book kind of guy. I’m just not that devious.
Ej: You’re losing your edge, clyde. And that pseudo country charm of yours isn’t working like it used to.
Clyde: Well, look, whether you say yes or no to my offer, the deal that we made at statesville still stands. You don’t tell anyone about my part in what happened to you, I watch your back.
Ej: I’ll keep quiet, at least for now. As for future dealings between the two of us, getting involved in a business of some sort, forget it.
[Knocking on door]
Beth: Hope I’m not interrupting.
Lani: Beth?
Beth: Hi.
Lani: Hi. Um, this is beth. She is an actress. Um, she has a part in tr and johnny’s movie. This is my father, abe carver.
Abe: Huh.
Beth: Nice to meet you.
Abe: Yes, what role are you playing?
Beth: Celeste.
Abe: Oh. Well, that’s a– that’s a big part. You know what, I better be going.
Lani: Okay. Thank you for the milkshake and for being here.
Abe: You know, if you need anything, day or night, you know where I am.
Lani: I do.
Abe: All right. I love you.
Lani: I love you too.
Beth: He seems nice.
Lani: He’s the best.
Beth: Oh, um, I brought you these.
Lani: They’re beautiful. But you and I, we barely know each other. What are you doing here?
Paulina: More like embarrassed. Worse than that–hopeless. I thought there might be a chance that abe would be able to get past what I did. But I have to face that he’s never gonna trust me again.
Tr: [Sighs] I know what that feels like, to believe that you don’t deserve another chance when you want that chance so badly.
Paulina: What are you getting at?
Tr: I know that it’s gonna be hard to ever earn your trust again. But I hope it’s not impossible. I would do anything to prove myself to you. Anything at all.
Chanel: I want to make a toast. To the evil twins. They deserve each other.
Tripp: I will drink to that. Mm. [Sighs]
Chanel: Whoo. [Laughs] Should we do another round?
Tripp: That doesn’t seem like the sensible thing to do.
Chanel: Yeah, I know, but so what?
Tripp: Yeah. So the hell what? Yo, buddy, can we, uh– can we do, uh, this again? Thanks. You know, I–I want to make another toast.
Chanel: Mm. Mm-hmm.
[Laughs]
Tripp: To having fun.
Chanel: Isn’t fun the best thing to have? I mean, why should allie and johnny get to have all of it and not us?
Tripp: Yeah. That’s right. That’s right. You know what? From now on, it’s nothing but fun for you and me, okay?
Chanel: Mm-hmm.
Ciara: Mm. You know, I normally don’t like herbal teas, but this one is really delicious. Thank you. And it’s already working. I’m already feeling kind of sleepy.
Allie: Well, that’s what it’s supposed to do.
Ciara: Actually, do you– do you mind if I go to bed now?
Allie: No. Not at all.
Ben: Wow. Okay. All right. That’s the good stuff. Let’s go, sleepy girl.
Ciara: Mm.
[Sinister music]
Allie: It’s time to get down to business. Once I get rid of daddy, I’ll have mommy all to myself. You know liberty mutual customizes your car insurance,
Beth: I–I just can’t stop thinking about your poor husband. I don’t know if you remember, but I met with him at the police station on the day that he got shot.
Lani: I remember.
Beth: I just feel so bad for you. He seemed like such a nice guy. I can’t stop thinking about you and–
Lani: And what?
Beth: You’re the one who shot that cop, aren’t you? I knew you were lying.

Beth: There’s something I need to tell you.
Lani: Okay. What is it?
Paulina: Just what do you want to prove to me?
Tr: That I’m not the man that I was back then. That I’ll never hurt you again. I’m asking you for another chance.
[Dramatic music]
Chanel: [Giggling] Ugh. Okay. And now I’m drunk. Oh. I missed my mouth.
Tripp: There you go.
Chanel: Better now?
Tripp: Actually, you look amazing.
[Dramatic music]
Johnny: No.
Ej: I think it’s time for you to leave.
Clyde: I can’t do that.
Ej: What do you mean, you can’t? Just walk out the bloody door.
Clyde: No, no, I promised my son and his wife that I’d give them an evening alone in the apartment. And this town just rolls up the sidewalks at 9:00, you know, so… I wonder who the cubs are playing tonight.
[Suspenseful music]
Ben: Ciara’s sleeping like a baby.
Allie: This tea really works. I just poured some for us.
Ben: Ah, thank you.
Allie: You’re going to love how this makes you feel.
