Ridge: Why– why are you doing this?
Taylor: I know that you want to believe that everything has changed and that brooke has changed. But you deserve to know the truth
Ridge: You told me the truth.
Taylor: Not all of it.
Ridge: I know what happened that night, taylor.
Taylor: No, she lied to you, ridge.
Ridge: So what are you saying?
Taylor: Brooke betrayed you. Again. This time with deacon.
Brooke: I’m going to get what’s coming to me? What does that even mean, steffy?
Steffy: Consequences, brooke. You can’t avoid them.
Brooke: Look, if there’s something you want to say, why don’t you just say it? I don’t have time for–
Steffy: You don’t have time for this.
Brooke: I don’T. I’m expecting your father.
Steffy: You know what I’m expecting? What I’ve been waiting for my entire life is to see my father be truly happy and treated with respect. I’ve never stopped hoping that one day my father was gonna wake up and realize that can’t happen with you. And now with this latest mess, deacon, the way you let him in, embraced him. It proves it. It proves that you are no good for my father. One day soon, brooke. Your bad decisions are gonna catch up with you.
Deacon: So brooke is really gonna tell ridge what happened? About the kiss, me staying the night, everything?
Hope: Mm-hm. She can’t live with the guilt, dad.
Liam: I mean, it’s torturing her.
Deacon: Yeah, but I mean, it’s really gonna make her feel better? Has ridge given her any sign that if she does tell him it’s gonna be okay?
Hope: She needs out from under this weight.
Deacon: Okay, I get that. But, I mean, she does realize what’s gonna happen when she tells ridge. I mean, is she ready for that?
Deacon: I’m just surprised. She has been so determined to keep it secret.
Liam: Yeah, well, douglas actually seeing it pretty much threw her,
Hope: Okay, sure, that might’ve been a part of it, but this has been building for a while and… ridge being as supportive as he’s been, it’s just compounding her guilt. I mean, she can’t live like this anymore. She needs to tell him the truth,
Deacon: Even if it’s gonna blow up her marriage?
Liam: I mean, isn’t that kind of what you secretly want?
Brooke: In hindsight, there are things that I wish I had done differently, yes. But you can’t question my love for your father.
Steffy: But I do. And you know why? Because I know you, your history. It’s the most consistent thing about you. Sooner or later, brooke, you always turn to someone else.
Ridge: You know, I don’t– I don’t know. I don’t know where all this is coming from, but… I assure you, my wife would never betray me with deacon.
Taylor: Do you think that I would tell you all of this if I wasn’t 100 percent sure?
Ridge: No and I know it’s all coming from a good place and all that. But sometimes we’re wrong.
Taylor: But I’m not wrong.
Ridge: No, you’re not wrong. You’re not. Deacon was at the place. He was at the party and then he left,
Taylor: But, ridge, he came back, he came back. He was alone with brooke. I don’t know if that’s when they started drinking, but… if it was, then that would explain what happened I know it won’t excuse it.
Ridge: What do you mean? What happened? You’re making it sound like something happened.
Taylor: Something happened. It’s why I called you. Brooke and deacon… they kissed.
Ridge: Now you’re just being ridiculous.
Taylor: I’m not being–
Ridge: You are being ridiculous! You weren’t there, were you there? No.
Taylor: But someone was, someone who would never lie,
Ridge: Who?
Taylor: Our grandson… douglas. He saw brooke and deacon kiss. Before treating your chronic migraine,
Deacon: I want brooke to handle this however she thinks is best. Whatever that is, I’m gonna support it.
Liam: I don’t know, man, don’t you think maybe you should… just try to stay out of it?
Hope: Liam, he’s just trying to say that–
Liam: I’m just trying to say, that this is between your mom and ridge. And let’s be honest, deacon’s done enough already.
Deacon: Hey, look… let me just say this again. All right? I did not want this to happen.
Liam: I hear you, but I don’t think you realize exactly how much trouble you’ve caused. And I’m not– I’m not just talking about brooke. It’s true. I’m talking about the entire family, including douglas.
Deacon: I’m sorry about that. I– I am. Is he still going around telling people that he saw grandma kissing santa claus? Those therapy bills aren’t gonna be cheap.
Liam: Except we all know that’s not what he actually saw. What he actually saw was you, in a santa hat, turning his whole family upside down.-Hope: Okay, you know what? Hopefully that won’t happen.
Liam: Hey, I’m all for being positive, but I think we should try to be a little realistic, too. Ridge hears the guy’s name and he blows a gasket. What’s he gonna do when he finds out about the kiss?
Hope: The important thing is that we will be there for my mom when and if that happens.
Deacon: She’s right. I mean, we’ll have her back, right? We’ll be there to support her. And if brooke thinks it’s time to admit what happened… I don’t know. Maybe… maybe it’s time for the truth to come on.
Brooke: I think it’s best if we end this conversation now.
Steffy: Did you get a text from my father? Is he coming home?
Brooke: Yeah, I asked him to and he is coming home. I would appreciate it if you weren’t here when he arrives.
Steffy: I’m sure he’d appreciate that, too.
Brooke: Before you go, I’d like to tell you something about my marriage to your father.
Steffy: Oh, brooke, you can’t tell me anything that I don’t already know.
Brooke: Well, then let me remind you… everything that you’re holding against me, all of the challenges that your father and I have faced together hasn’t weakened us, steffy. If anything, it has brought us closer together. It’s made us stronger.
Steffy: You don’t have to tell me how it worked. I already know how you drag my father in, it’s no secret, but let me tell you something, something you really, really need to hear. Nothing is more painful than watching history repeat itself.
Brooke: I think you should go.
Steffy: I’m going. I’m getting as far away from this… impending catastrophe as I can.
Ridge: Douglas doesn’t know what he saw. Thomas and steffy, they’re putting ideas,
Taylor: Ridge, they would never do that.
Ridge: No, not intentionally. I’m not saying that. Look, kid walks in and and says he saw… grandma kissing santa claus, and they just filled in–
Taylor: Saw… brooke kissing deacon.
Ridge: No, he did not.
Taylor: Yes, he did. I know this is hard for you to believe.
Ridge: It’s hard to believe because you’re taking a kid’s innocent story and making it sinister. Why?
Taylor: I’m– I’m not. I’M…
Taylor: Ridge, douglas was getting ready for bed, and then he realized that he left his stuffed rabbit at the house, and when hope and liam were with beth, he snuck out of the cabin–
Ridge: On new year’S.
Taylor: Yes. On new year’S.
Ridge: Here’s what I know about new year’S. Deacon came over and then he left with hope, with liam and the kids.
Ridge: That’s it.
Taylor: And then he came back.
Ridge: No, he did not.
Taylor: I saw it.
Ridge: You saw it how?
Taylor: Your home security camera.
Ridge: Oh, my home security camera. Now you’re not making any sense.
Taylor: Ridge, I saw it. I saw deacon come back to the house. He was there alone with brooke… and he didn’t leave until morning.
Ridge: What are you saying?
Taylor: Deacon spent the night with brooke… in your home. They spent the night together. (Cyclist) why is ice t in a speed walking crew?
Ridge: So you think deacon spent the night at my house on new year’s eve?
Taylor: I understand that you’re skeptical.
Ridge: I’m skeptical because I know what happened. Brooke told me the truth. She was drinking that night.
Taylor: Yes, it sounds like you’ve been incredibly supportive of her. You’ve been going to meetings and encouraging her sobriety, but there’s more to this story. She didn’t tell you everything. Deacon came back that night. He didn’t leave until morning.
Ridge: No, brooke was waiting for me to come home.
Taylor: But you didn’t get home. And her disappointment became self-destructive. You know that. The drinking was just part of it.
Ridge: All right. Here’s what I know: Brooke wouldn’t do that. Not with a bottom feeder like deacon, not with anybody.
Taylor: Okay, then why– why has she been so upset? Why is she not been going into work? Why… why does hope say that… your marriage is in trouble?
Ridge: Okay, enough. Brooke wouldn’t do that to me.
Taylor: I don’t expect you to take my word for it. Go ask your wife.
Ridge: That’s a good idea. That’s exactly what I’ll do.
Taylor: Ridge…
Ridge: What?
Taylor: I am not saying any of this to hurt you. You’ve been lied to. You deserve so much better.
Deacon: It’s important that you both know that brooke didn’t intend for this to happen. Neither did I.
Liam: Yeah, but if it does cause her marriage to implode, I mean, you’re gonna be right there to help her through it, right?
Deacon: Well, of course.
Liam: See? Told you.
Deacon: Knock it off, will you? You know what I mean.
Hope: Liam, that is not fair. If my dad had wanted to damage brooke and ridge’s relationship, he easily could have. He could have gone to ridge. But did he? No, because my mom asked him not to. And he didn’t say a single word. Not one. Look, I don’t know how this is all going to work out, but I can say… that my dad is not all to blame.
Steffy: Where’s dad? Did he come over? Did you talk to him?
Taylor: I– I tried.
Steffy: Did you– did you tell him what we saw, the security footage? Mom.
Taylor: He didn’t want to believe me.
Steffy: Okay, I’m gonna go talk to him–
Taylor: Honey, he– he left. He went to brooke’S.
Brooke: Oh, ridge. There you are. Uh, I was about to text you again. Thanks for coming home. There’s something that I need to tell you. Something I should have told you a while ago. Don’t settle for products that give you a sort-of white smile.
Deacon: This is not why I came back to L.A. I hate this.
Hope: I just don’t want to focus on the worst case scenario, okay? Ridge has forgiven my mom before for far worse, so I have to believe that he will understand.
Deacon: Yeah, this is ridge we’re talking about. When it comes to me… I think brooke’s walking into a buzz saw. I hope he understands. I really do. But how the hell is he gonna understand what happened when brooke and i don’t even understand what happened that night?
Steffy: You said dad didn’t believe you?
Taylor: Yeah. Yeah, he– he couldn’T. He’s defended brooke so many times, it’s– it’s like a reflex for him.
Steffy: But he knows you wouldn’t lie.
Taylor: Yeah, but he just kept saying, oh, you’re mistaken, you’re confused. It’s– he wants so desperately for there to be another explanation.
Brooke: Well, I’m sure brooke’s gonna come up with an excuse.
Taylor: I hope she’s honest with him. Even if she is, she still kept this huge secret from him.
Taylor: This is gonna hurt him so bad.
Steffy: This is exactly what he was worried about… deacon coming back into town to rekindle things with brooke. That is exactly what happened. But we don’t know what happened at the house. We just know that deacon was there.
Steffy: And that douglas saw them kissing, mom. That is more than enough. Dad should realize that brooke is not committed to him.
Taylor: I don’t know that your dad is ready to face that. He has put so much faith in brooke. I don’t think he’s capable of… of seeing that… she could turn to deacon.
Brooke: I really need to talk to you, ridge. Can we sit?
Ridge: I want to– I want to talk to you too.
Brooke: Yeah, but me first, okay? It’s– it’s about new year’S.
Ridge: Oh, new year’S.
Brooke: You know how concerned you’ve been about me? About how anxious and upset I was about my drinking? Well, I wasn’t just drinking. I mean, more happened that night that I regret.
Ridge: What? What happened that night?
Brooke: Well, when you called and your plane was grounded… I wasn’t here alone. I was with deacon. He came because he had left his phone here and he came to get it and he was leaving again. And then you called and you told me that you couldn’t make it. And of course, I was very disappointed. What did I do? I just grabbed a bottle of vodka and I had a drink and… a second. I just…
Ridge: Did he stay here?
Brooke: Yes, he did. He did stay. And I wasn’t myself, ridge. The way I was acting and… my behavior, I don’t really understand it. Something… happened between deacon and me.
Ridge: What happened?
Brooke: We kissed.
Ridge: You and deacon?
Brooke: Yeah. I don’t know why– I don’t know why that happened. All I wanted was to be with you, ridge, to spend new year’s with you, that’s– that’s all I wanted. And yes, I was drinking and I know that’s not an excuse. I know that. Just say something.
Ridge: Okay. I know.
Brooke: You know?
Brooke: Taylor told me.
Brooke: Taylor?
Ridge: She told me… what happened and I said there’s no way, there’s no way you would do that. You just– you… you don’t have to explain this to me. Not the drinking part, you already… you didn’t lie about that. Tell me about deacon being here, because that’s what… that’s what douglas saw, right? But taylor seems to think that, um… deacon stayed the night and that…
[ Scoffing ] This makes no sense to me because you wouldn’t do that. Not to me, not… not to you or us. The marriage we have, you… you wouldn’t have an affair… with deacon, right?
