Kayla is in her office at the hospital, finishing up a call to put a rush on Sarah’s test results. After she hangs up, Steve arrives and asks if it’s a bad time. Kayla tells him that she’s on a break. Steve asks how Sarah is doing. Kayla responds that she’s recovering from surgery but still doesn’t feel anything in her legs. Steve asks about that being temporary. Kayla says she hopes so and asks if Steve only came by to check on Sarah. Steve says also to see her beautiful face. Steve adds that he spoke to Jack, who told him that Jennifer just got in from Boston and they are going to see Abigail.

At the DiMera Mansion, Chad tells Jack and Jennifer that Abigail is nervous to see Jennifer. Jennifer says she’s nervous too to see her daughter. Jennifer asks if it’s true that she’s really alive and here. Jack responds that she really is.

“Abigail” remains in the bedroom and makes a phone call, saying everything is going according to plan.

Connie questions Melinda firing her and asks if Gabi knows about this. Melinda says not yet. Connie argues that Gabi will never stand for this. Melinda says that Gabi will when she finds out what she found out about Connie. Connie argues that she’s an open book and asks what she allegedly found out. Melinda informs her that she checked her references and her entire resume is a lie which company policy is very strict about, so there was no alternative. Connie argues that everyone lies on their resume. Melinda demands her laptop and badge but Connie says no way in hell. Melinda argues that those are DiMera property and orders her to return them. Connie complains about Melinda showing up at her door with no notice. Melinda then threatens to get the police involved. Connie tells Melinda that she can’t come in right now. Melinda asks if she has company.

At the Bistro, Gabi toasts to Ava for taking a chance on her and reviving Gabi Chic, even if it was out of guilt. Ava asks what she means. Gabi then calls Ava the lying, cheating bitch who slept with her husband. Ava questions what she just called her. Gabi asks what part she didn’t understand. Stefan asks what she’s talking about. Gabi tells him to spare her the innocent act because she knows they slept together. Stefan claims not to know where this is coming from and asks why she would think they slept together. Gabi questions this being how he’s going to play it. Stefan claims not to understand what’s going on. Gabi asks if he’s sure and warns that she’s giving him one last chance to come clean with her. Ava calls this ridiculous and asks where Gabi even got this idea. Gabi reveals that Connie told her everything.

Connie tells Melinda that she’s sorry but it’s not a good time for her. Melinda says that’s too bad and insists as DiMera’s general counsel that she let her in. Melinda reminds her that she has their property and she’d rather not bring the police in, but threatens to do so. Connie tells her that there’s no need to call the authorities and that she just needs a minute to straighten up. Connie shuts the door and worries about what to do.

Chad hopes that Jennifer is prepared for who Abigail is now. Jennifer asks if he’s talking about how different she looks. Chad talks about Abigail not remembering any of them or anything about her life. Jack says he explained that to her. Jennifer declares that no matter what, Abigail is her daughter and she’s alive, so she will accept whoever she is right now. Chad says he will go see what’s keeping her and exits the room.

Kayla tells Steve that even after Chad and Jack told her they found Abigail, she didn’t really expect the DNA test to confirm she was Abigail. Steve can’t imagine what it was like being there when they got the test results. Kayla states that they were all just stunned. Steve declares that now the healing can begin as Chad is back with his wife while Jack and Jennifer have their daughter back. Kayla notes that Abigail is so different, so she hopes that soon they will have her back in every way.

Abigail says on the phone that she needs to go as she’s already nervous enough as it is. She hangs up as Chad enters the room. She claims she was just talking to one of the nurses who took care of her in Poplar Bluff to tell her the good news that she found out who she is. Chad guesses she was happy that her family found her. She asks if everything is okay. Chad says he doesn’t want to pressure her but her mom and dad are waiting downstairs. Abigail tells him that she just needs two more minutes to get changed. Chad tells her that she doesn’t have to cover with him as he heard her say on the phone that she was nervous. Chad encourages that Jack and Jennifer love her and they’re just really happy to have her back so they don’t want to make her uncomfortable. She jokes about them being cool with having a daughter with amnesia. She thanks Chad for being patient with her. Chad responds that he will wait as long as she needs him to. Chad adds that maybe seeing her mom will bring something back. Chad says he’ll see her downstairs and exits.

Connie tells her cardboard cutout of Li that this is a total disaster and asks what she’s going to do now. Melinda knocks on the door, asking if they can get this over with. Connie worries about Gabi finding out why she really wanted the job and there goes her plan. Connie asks how she will get revenge on Gabi and Stefan for what they did to Li if she’s not Gabi’s assistant. Melinda knocks on the door, complaining that she doesn’t have all day. Connie then gets an idea.

Stefan questions Connie telling Gabi that he and Ava slept together. Ava asks where she would get that idea. Gabi responds that Connie overheard Ava talking about it in the office. Ava flashes back to telling Stefan that Connie might have overheard her and Kristen talking. Ava tells Gabi that Connie must be mistaken about what she heard. Stefan adds that he and Ava both told Gabi that they were pretending to date and that must have been what Ava was talking about. Gabi says she said the same thing to Connie, but Connie was insistent that she heard Ava and Stefan slept together while she was in prison. Stefan states that she heard wrong. Gabi asks if he’s saying Connie is a liar. Stefan states that she’s obviously mistaken. Gabi supposes that would be possible, but responds that if Connie was mistaken then so was Kristen. Gabi then reveals that Kristen confirmed it.

Melinda continues knocking on Connie’s door until she opens it again. Connie apologizes and allows Melinda inside. Melinda says she will need her laptop and DiMera ID. Connie asks if she can take a moment to explain and offers Melinda tea but she declines. Connie says she knows it was inexcusable but she was desperate to get the job. Connie says she’s deeply ashamed of the fraud and asks if Melinda’s never done something that she deeply regretted later. Melinda says they aren’t talking about her. Connie talks about Melinda being a woman of honor and servant to the public. Connie doesn’t expect Melinda to forgive her but says she just wants to tell her side and have some understanding. Melinda gives in and asks what she has to say. Connie calls it a long story and insists on fixing her some tea.

Gabi asks if Ava is surprised that her good friend gave her up or if Stefan didn’t think his sister would sell him out, pointing out that is what DiMeras do. Gabi adds that Kristen tried to back them up as long as she could, until she threatened to pull Gabi Chic from DiMera, then Kristen finally admitted the truth that Stefan and Ava did the dirty while she was locked up, fearing for her life. Gabi declares that deserves another toast and throws her champagne on Stefan.

Jennifer worries about Abigail having second thoughts about meeting her. Jack says this is difficult for everyone. Chad then returns and says that Abigail will be down in a minute. Chad asks if Jennifer is sure she’s ready for this. Jennifer assures that she is. Abigail then enters the room.

Kayla tells Steve that she keeps thinking about the moment after reading the DNA test results when Jack reached out to hug Abigail but she pushed him away. Kayla says Jack tried to play it off but she knows he was hurt. Steve talks about Jack saying it wasn’t the easiest reunion but he is optimistic that Abigail could get her memory back. Kayla confirms it could just be a psychological issue and there’s a chance that she could make a full recovery. Kayla notes that some patients do but there’s no way to know when or if Abigail will recover. Steve says it’s a good thing that she has people around her who love her and are willing to support her through this, no matter how long it takes, including her uncle Steve and her amazing aunt Kayla. Steve adds that from what Jack told him, Abigail spent the last few years being lied to by Clyde Weston, so now that she’s home in Salem around all the people and things she knows, maybe it will cut through all of that.

Abigail approaches Jennifer and they greet each other. Jennifer reaches out to her, but then pulls her hand back and declares this is not her daughter. Jennifer then apologizes. Jack promises her that this is their daughter. Chad argues that the DNA test proved it. Abigail says she knows she looks different and she’s sorry she doesn’t remember her, but she knows how she must be feeling. Jennifer repeats that she’s so sorry as she doesn’t know why she’s reacting this way and she thought she was ready for this. Jack tries to encourage her but Jennifer cries that she thought she would still feel a connection to her daughter, but she doesn’t feel anything. Jennifer repeats that she’s sorry as she breaks down and runs out of the room.

Connie pours tea for Melinda and tells her that she knows it was wrong to embellish but she really wanted the job. Melinda says she agreed to hear her story but she’s saying nothing. Melinda question what it was about the job that she wanted it so bad for instead of finding one more suitable to her qualifications. Connie responds that she didn’t just want a job, she wanted this job, declaring that she had to work for Gabi. Melinda didn’t know Gabi was that important to Connie and remarks that she must really be a fan. Connie laughs at that and reveals to Melinda that she hates Gabi’s guts.

Stefan asks Gabi if they can talk about this in private. Gabi yells at Ava to go to the office and pack her stuff because she made it very clear to Kristen that she has no intention of working with her if she wants to keep Gabi Chic. Ava questions Gabi making Kristen choose between them. Stefan holds Gabi back as Ava calls her vindictive. Ava wishes Stefan luck and walks out of the Bistro. Gabi shoves Stefan, asking how could he.

Jack tells Abigail that he’s very sorry as this has been very hard on Jennifer. Abigail says she gets it and would react the same way. Chad encourages that it’s going to be okay and they will work it out. Abigail decides that she will go upstairs and let them have some time, so she exits. Chad didn’t think Jennifer would react that way. Jack didn’t think she thought she would either. Chad complains that Jennifer was rejecting her daughter. Jack tries to argue that wasn’t what happened so Chad questions what he would call it then. Chad argues that they worked really hard to gain Abigail’s trust and this was a giant step backwards which Jack agrees with. Chad declares that they have to do damage control or they are going to drive Abigail away from them for good. Chad and Jack make a decision on what to do as Jennifer returns to the room. Jack asks how she is. Jennifer says she’s alright but can’t believe she ran out like that and she’s so sorry. Jennifer asks where Abigail is. Jack says she went upstairs to give them some alone time. Jennifer can’t believe she reacted so badly and suggests maybe they should come back another time. Jack reveals that he and Chad actually think they should head back to Boston. Jennifer questions wanting to leave already. Jack says it’s just until Abigail gets her memory back. Jennifer doesn’t understand. Jack explains that they are just concerned that they are forcing things and it’s just too hard. Jennifer doesn’t want to abandon Abigail. Jack says they just want everyone to have space to absorb this as it’s too much pressure on her. Chad tells them about hearing her on the phone with a nurse and that she’s really struggling. Jack declares that once Abigail gets her memory back, things will all be different as she won’t look the same but she will be Abigail in every sense of the word. Jennifer asks if this is how they both feel. Chad clarifies it’s not that he wants her to leave. Jennifer argues that she can react better now that she’s more prepared. Chad worries that her sense that it’s not her daughter won’t go anywhere even if she hides it, so he doesn’t think it’s good for anyone. Jennifer agrees that Abigail needs room to find herself and them being around just makes it more complicated. Jennifer hates leaving as it feels like giving up, but Jack insists it is not that at all. Jack declares that they will never give up and that when Abigail is ready, she will come to them and they will be there to love and cherish her.

Stefan knows Gabi is upset but says what happened between he and Ava was not planned. Gabi questions him finally admitting it. Stefan calls it a moment of weakness as he was very drunk and missing Gabi. Stefan talks about how hard it was to live without her. Gabi mocks him and talks about how hard it was for her in prison, fighting for her life. Stefan says he was fighting for her but Gabi doesn’t want to hear it. Gabi complains that she got beaten up and thrown in to solitary while Stefan was with Ava. Stefan swears it only happened once. Gabi questions why she should believe him. Stefan says because he loves her. Stefan knows she hates him right now and has every right to, but argues that she can’t hate him nearly as much as he hates himself. Stefan admits what he did was horrible and he wishes he could go back to change everything, but he can’t. Stefan repeats that it was a mistake that he will never make again because he loves Gabi. Stefan says if Gabi lets him, he will spend the rest of their lives making it up to her.

Melinda questions Connie saying she hates Gabi. Connie states that she despises Gabi with every fiber of her being and Stefan too. Melinda asks why. Connie reminds Melinda of what they did to Li, shattering his heart in the process. Melinda realizes this is about Li Shin. Connie calls him a dear sweet prince of a man and says that he was a broken shell because of them. Connie blames Gabi and Stefan for being the reason they couldn’t be together. Melinda questions Connie wanting to be with Li. Connie says that she was in love with Li and that they were meant for each other. Melinda points out that they only went on one date. Connie complains that maybe if Melinda hadn’t barged in to Li’s life, they might have gone on more. Melinda had no idea that Connie had such strong feelings for Li. Connie informs Melinda that she moved in to his old apartment because she wanted to feel close to him. Connie then pours more tea for Melinda and talks about how the apartment is a great space for operations on getting revenge for Li’s death. Connie remarks that it was Gabi and Melinda’s faults that Li was killed which Melinda questions. Connie didn’t know that this would work but says Melinda actually bought her apology. Melinda argues that the only one responsible for Li’s death is the man who stabbed him, Gil Carter. Connie responds that Gil didn’t stab Li. Melinda suddenly starts to feel sick. Connie then reveals that she spiked Melinda’s tea with Digoxin. Melinda questions what it does. Connie says she will see and points out that luckily no one knows she’s there. Melinda brings up Ava knowing that she’s there and scrambles to get her phone out of her purse.

Chad tells Jack that he will check in with him every day and let him know if anything changes. Jack thanks Chad for taking care of their girl. Abigail comes back downstairs and questions them leaving. Jennifer says they are just going to head back to Boston for a little while and that they will tell JJ to postpone his trip for awhile. Jennifer explains that they want to be there but feel it might be overwhelming. Abigail tells Jennifer that it was nice to meet her. Jack adds that they are just a phone call away if she needs anything. Chad then walks out with Jack and Jennifer.

Stefan asks Gabi to let him explain but Gabi doesn’t want to hear it. Gabi says that Kristen already tried to make her understand his feelings, but it didn’t work because she doesn’t give a damn about how bad he feels about betraying her. Gabi tells Stefan that nothing excuses what he did to her. Gabi complains that she suffered while Stefan was out with Ava. Gabi brings up her first night out of prison and how she went on and on about how much she missed him and longed for him. Gabi argues that she just assumed he felt the same way but he didn’t wait for her. Gabi remarks that their wedding vows meant so little to him that he just jumped in to bed with the next available warm body. Stefan cries that it wasn’t like that and what he did was horrible. Stefan asks if they can go home and talk this through. Gabi asks if he’s serious and shouts that she’s never going home with him ever again. Stefan questions what she means. Gabi declares their marriage is over. Stefan argues that she doesn’t mean that. Gabi says she does and tells Stefan not to touch her as she storms out of the Bistro.

Ava walks through the town square and calls Kristen, leaving a message that she shouldn’t be surprised that Kristen didn’t have her back with Gabi since DiMeras always put business ahead of friendship and loyalty. Ava then sees she has a missed call from Melinda.

Connie takes Melinda’s phone and says that she was so close to leaving a message. Connie adds that she wasn’t planning on poisoning Melinda, but she couldn’t risk her exposing them. Connie then remarks that she hoped Melinda enjoyed the tea as Melinda lays passed out on the couch.

At the DiMera Office, Gabi is at her desk and looks at a photo of her and Stefan. Gabi gets a call from Connie. Gabi thought she would be here by now but Connie claims she’s getting a cold and asks to stay home today. Gabi tells her to feel better soon. Connie says she’s more worried about how Gabi is feeling as she’s sure that she will feel better after she gets her revenge on Stefan for cheating on her with Ava.

Ava meets Melinda in the town square. Melinda tells her that this is about a sensitive personnel matter that she didn’t feel comfortable bringing up in the office. Melinda informs Ava that a major indiscretion has come up and consider who it involves, it will need to be dealt with very delicately.

Jack reunites with Julie at the Horton House, explaining that they got back very late. Julie asks what happened with the girl in the video. Jack reveals that it was Abigail and confirms she is alive which thrills Julie.

Abigail comes downstairs and in to the living room of the DiMera Mansion. She looks up at the portrait of Stefano and comments that he always looks like he knows something the rest of them don’t. Chad comes in and greets her, asking if she slept okay. Abigail tells him that she slept better than she can remember since she didn’t have an actual bed in Poplar Bluff. Abigail mentions not being a breakfast person. Stefan comes in and greets Chad, asking when he got there. Chad informs him that he slept there. Stefan jokes about Chad coming over for a sleepover. Stefan guesses Chad’s friend knows Gabi since she’s wearing one of her robes. Abigail apologizes and says she needed something and it was in one of the bathrooms. Stefan then asks if Chad is going to introduce them. Chad responds that they’ve already met and reveals this is Abigail, leaving Stefan confused. Stefan says he doesn’t understand. Chad reminds him that he’s been looking for the woman in the video that Clyde sent him and they found her. Stefan knows Chad has had it very rough since that night, but tells him that this is not Abigail. Chad then reveals that the DNA test said it is.

Ava asks Melinda to just say what she has to tell her. Melinda clarifies that it’s about Connie. Ava says she should discuss that with Gabi since Connie is her direct report. Melinda points out that Gabi hired Connie but Ava hired Gabi. Ava questions that making it her problem. Melinda doesn’t think Gabi will be very receptive to pushback about her right hand woman. Ava then asks what Connie did.

Connie asks Gabi when she’s going to pull the trigger and put her revenge plan in to action. Gabi says not now. Connie doesn’t understand. Gabi explains that she’s not doing anything until she has absolute proof that Stefan had an affair with Ava. Kristen then arrives at the office. Gabi tells Connie that she knows just how she’s going to get that proof.

Melinda talks to Ava about the reasons Connie would be living in Li Shin’s old place, but they never pinned down why because they couldn’t but she needed to find out. Melinda says she went back to Connie’s employment file, paying special attention to her resumé and references. Ava asks what she found. Melinda reveals that everything in it is a lie and calls Connie a total fraud.

Connie questions how Gabi is going to prove Stefan cheated on her. Gabi says maybe later as she has to get back to work. Connie wishes her luck and tells her to call if she needs anything as they hang up. Connie then tells herself that she might miss fireworks at the office, but she stayed home to spend a glorious day with her cutout of Li.

Stefan questions Chad telling him that this is Abigail with plastic surgery and amnesia. Abigail points out that she doesn’t remember Stefan at all but they obviously knew each other. Chad explains that Stefan is his half-brother. Abigail tells him that it’s nice to meet him again. Stefan jokes that he fully expects to wake up at any moment now. Abigail asks if they were close. Stefan says they had a complicated relationship which Chad calls an understatement.

Ava tells Melinda that it doesn’t track since DiMera is a big company so someone would’ve checked Connie out. Melinda points out that it wouldn’t have gone through the regular channels since it was a hire for Gabi Chic. Ava feels Gabi would’ve checked then but Melinda points out how Connie immediately made herself indispensable so that Gabi dropped it, being swamped with her launch and Rafe in the hospital. Ava feels Connie must have some work history. Ava adds that Gabi called Connie outstanding. Ava feels Connie isn’t the first person to lie on a resumé . Melinda tells her that people she reached out to about Connie used the words overzealous and psychotic. Ava jokes that worse has been said about her while Melinda jokes that she wouldn’t have hired Ava either. Melinda talks about Connie getting a favorable reference from her previous job just to go away. Ava asks if they are supposed to tell Gabi or give Connie a warning. Melinda declares that Connie needs to be terminated immediately.

Connie tells her cutout of Li that she’s excited to spend the day with him and then sets up her voicemail on her phone.

Kristen picks up Gabi’s photo of her and Stefan, saying she must have knocked it over by mistake. Gabi asks what she can do for her. Kristen says she was just checking in and asks if she ever made it home last night. Gabi says she had too much to do. Kristen appreciates her work ethic, especially since she will be making a profit off it. Kristen talks about everyone needing a work-life balance and points out that Gabi and Stefan have spent so much time apart that it’s not good for the relationship. Kristen suggests changing that before it becomes a problem. Kristen talks about planning out her time with Rachel and not being prepared for a crime scene on their way which Gabi questions. Kristen informs her that Sarah was seriously injured by a hit and run driver in the town square parking lot. Gabi asks if they know who did it. Kristen says that Paulina is looking for someone who was driving a gray car. Gabi brings up that Ava drives a gray car. Kristen asks if she’s telling her that Ava is the hit and run driver. Gabi says no because Ava was too busy sleeping with her husband. Kristen tries to laugh it off but Gabi says it apparently was one time. Kristen questions her thinking that. Gabi responds that she doesn’t think, she knows that Stefan slept with Ava while she was languishing away in prison. Kristen claims that she doesn’t buy it. Gabi questions Kristen not hearing any rumors. Kristen says she hasn’t and insists that Stefan never stopped loving her, so she thinks Gabi’s imagination is just running wild. Gabi remarks that she’s surprised Kristen is digging so hard in to this since Connie swears she overheard Kristen and Ava talking about it. Kristen argues that Connie must have misheard. Gabi explains that Connie said she overheard Ava telling Kristen that she has a terrible feeling that Stefan is planning on telling Gabi that they slept together while she was in prison. Gabi doesn’t see any room for another explanation there.

Melinda tells Ava that Connie is a walking liability and has to go. Melinda says that she’ll break it to Connie, so she needs Ava to break it to Gabi. They talk about being unsure how they will take it. Melinda talks about planning to make sure Connie can never get past security again before she causes any lasting damage…

Connie eats breakfast with her cutout of Li and ignores when her phone rings with a call from Melinda. Connie complains that Melinda did Li so dirty and questions Li not talking back to her. Connie declares that she is Li’s retribution and she will make sure Stefan and Gabi get everything that’s coming to them.

Kristen questions Gabi calling her a liar and warns her to consider the ramifications. Gabi says she’s making a mistake. Gabi asks if Kristen likes her job which she questions. Gabi remarks that Stefan may be Kristen’s brother and he may have helped her get the job, but she’s the one helping her keep it. Kristen questions that so Gabi points out that Kristen has made the relaunch of Gabi Chic the centerpiece of her return to DiMera and explains that her contract states she can take her marbles and go home any time she wants before the launch becomes official. Gabi warns Kristen to stop with the games before she takes her company to her biggest competitor. Gabi asks Kristen if she wants to lose everything because her brother was a cheating idiot. Gabi then demands Kristen tell her what she knows. Kristen then admits that Gabi is right and everything she said is true, confirming that Stefan and Ava slept together.

Abigail asks if there’s something she should know about her and Stefan’s past. Stefan states that he’s just very happy she’s back. Abigail decides to go take a shower and says it was nice catching up as she then exits. Stefan tells Chad that it’s unbelievable and that he’s speechless. Stefan jokes that if Abigail needs any help with coming back from the dead, he can send her to him. Stefan then thanks Chad for not telling her that he raped her. Chad clarifies that he did that for Abigail, not him. Chad says she hasn’t even met the kids, so telling her about the dissociative identity disorder, Ben, and Stefan would be too traumatic for her right now. Stefan says he gets it, but advises Chad to fill her in on some things because being back there might trigger some memories that she’s not quite prepared for.

Abigail enters her and Chad’s old bedroom and finds an old framed photo of Chad and Abigail.

Jack asks Julie if she’s alright. Julie responds that she’s stunned as she was preparing herself for bad news. Jack calls it overwhelming and that’s why Chad is taking everything slowly since Abigail is a virtual stranger to herself. Julie questions why they spent the night at the DiMera Mansion. Jack explains that Abigail thought it was too soon and too much for her to see the kids. Julie understands but says they can’t keep this from Thomas and Charlotte that their mother is alive. Julie calls it a miracle and exclaims that Abigail will have to see everyone who loves her. Jack confirms Jennifer is on her way to Salem. Jennifer then rushes in and announces she’s here and she needs to see her daughter right now. Jack hugs her as Julie says she’s so glad she’s here. Jack knows she wants to see their daughter right away but Abigail wanted time with Chad alone, so he’s not sure they should push this. Jennifer questions if Jack would let anything keep him away if he hadn’t already seen Abigail. Jack then agrees to call Chad and tell him they are on their way.

Stefan tells Chad that he knows he brought Abigail back here in hopes of triggering some happy memories, but a lot of bad stuff happened her too. Chad assures that he hasn’t forgotten that. Stefan says he’s just trying to help. Chad cuts him off and says he’s doing his best as he got his wife back and it’s a miracle but he’s doing his best to manage their needs, his kids needs, and everyone else. Stefan asks if he has any idea how she survived. Chad says no. Stefan asks if maybe Dr. Rolf was involved. Chad says he has a lot more questions than answers right now. Chad then gets a call from Jack.

Abigail looks around the bedroom and sits on the bed. Chad comes in and asks what she’s doing in there. Abigail responds that she doesn’t know and that something drew her in here. Chad informs her that it was their room. Abigail asks why he didn’t take her here last night. Chad reveals it’s also where she was stabbed as he found her lying right there on the bed. Abigail asks if they ever caught the person who did it. Chad confirms they did and reveals that it was Clyde Weston.

Connie tells her cardboard cutout of Li that they can play charades until they are interrupted by Melinda knocking on her door, saying she needs to speak with her immediately.

Gabi tells Kristen that she knew she was going to say it, but she just wanted to hear it straight from her anyway. Gabi guesses part of her had hope but it still hurts. Kristen knows Stefan and Ava hate themselves for what they did and assures it was just one time. Gabi argues that it should’ve been zero and that Stefan confessed to only two kisses for show. Kristen insists that they agonized over telling her the truth because they didn’t want to upset her. Kristen assures it meant nothing. Gabi argues that Kristen wouldn’t buy an excuse like that and questions why she should. Gabi complains that they didn’t lie to protect her but to keep her from wringing their necks. Kristen states that they were just drunk and lonely. Gabi mocks the idea of them naturally falling in to each other’s arms. Kristen shouts that Stefan loves her and asks if Gabi wants to lose him. Kristen knows that Gabi loves him and also has to work with Ava. Ava then arrives at the office, so Gabi calls it a coincidence as they were just talking about her.

Abigail questions Chad about Clyde since he was the man who helped her and watched over her all this time. Chad doesn’t know why Clyde would kill her just to keep her alive. Chad calls Clyde a sick and twisted sociopath. Abigail guesses they weren’t best friends. Chad explains that Abigail once dated Clyde’s son and he’s an oddly protective father, so he hated them both and that night, he came for her. Chad adds that if Abigail knew the circumstances surrounding her death, she wouldn’t believe that she is standing here right now. Abigail questions it happening in this room. Chad calls it not an easy thing to remember or think about. Chad wants her to get her memory back but says she should be thankful that she doesn’t remember this right now. Abigail jokes about having a lot to look forward to. Chad says there will be a lot of surprises but promises that most of them will be really beautiful. Chad wants to keep it from knocking her off her feet if he can. Chad then tells Abigail that Jack called and her mom flew in from Boston this morning. Chad says that Jennifer wants to see her and they are coming over if it’s not too much for her. She declares that she is Abigail DiMera so she guesses it’s time she finds out who she is and where she comes from.

Julie tells Jack and Jennifer that she’s happy to watch over Thomas and Charlotte while they are gone. Jennifer knows Julie misses Abigail too and promises to bring her back to her family home soon. Julie sends all her love as she exits the room. Jack stops Jennifer and says he needs to prepare her as this won’t be simple or easy, explaining that their daughter doesn’t look like Abigail, has no memory, and doesn’t recognize him or Chad. Jennifer says she’s aware but Jack insists that being aware and experiencing it first hand are very different. Jack knows Jennifer is thinking that Abigail will see her mother and her memories will come flowing and he prays that they do, but he wants Jennifer to be ready for this reunion not being everything she wants or needs.

Connie answers the door and asks what Melinda wants. Melinda asks if she can come in. Connie says she has a cold. Melinda insists on talking to her in private. Connie says she prefers to have work conversations at work. Melinda then informs Connie that she won’t be coming back to work. Melinda says she didn’t want to do this in the hallway but declares that Connie is terminated, effective immediately.

Ava asks if everything is okay. Gabi says she was just telling Kristen how amazingly well their work relationship is going as they put everything from the past behind them to focus on the future and the launch could not be going any better. Kristen goes along with it as Gabi says it’s all so exciting and she sees no reason why Gabi Chic won’t be at DiMera for years to come. Gabi offers to take Ava to lunch to celebrate everything ahead for them. Ava says she has something to tell her but Gabi says they can talk about it over lunch. Gabi says she just has one thing to do and asks Ava to wait outside. Gabi adds that she will have Stefan save them the best table at the Bistro. After Ava exits, Kristen asks Gabi what the hell she’s going to do. Gabi tells her to be patient and she’ll find out. Gabi then warns Kristen that if she wants the launch to happen, she will do exactly what she tells her.

Connie questions Melinda firing her and asks if Gabi knows about this. Melinda says not yet. Connie argues that Gabi will never stand for this. Melinda says that Gabi will when she finds out what she found out about Connie. Connie argues that she’s an open book and asks what she allegedly found out. Melinda informs her that she checked her references and her entire resumé is a lie which company policy is very strict about, so there was no alternative. Connie argues that everyone lies on their resumé . Melinda demands her laptop and badge but Connie says no way in hell. Melinda argues that those are DiMera property and orders her to return them. Connie complains about Melinda showing up at her door with no notice. Melinda then threatens to get the police involved.

Gabi and Ava go to the Bistro where Gabi points out that Stefan got them champagne at their table, calling him the best husband and saying she’s a lucky woman. Ava agrees as they sit together. Gabi asks what Ava wanted to tell her at the office. Ava informs Gabi that it’s about Connie and she knows this isn’t exactly the best time but Melinda wanted her to tell her. Gabi then stops her as she sees Stefan and calls him over. Gabi then informs Ava that she hopes she doesn’t mind but she invited Stefan to join them. Gabi gets up to greet Stefan and thanks him for taking time out of his busy day to celebrate with them. Stefan asks what they are celebrating. Gabi says it’s her relaunch and declares that her whole life is about to change for the better. Stefan tells Gabi that she deserves it all. Gabi remarks that they all deserve something. Stefan pours champagne as Gabi claims she hopes it’s okay that the three of them are breaking bread together after the whole pretending to date thing. Ava assures it doesn’t have to be awkward. Gabi remarks that she’s so glad they put everything behind them and got everything out in the open. Gabi toasts to Ava for taking a chance on her and reviving Gabi Chic, even if it was out of guilt. Ava asks what she means. Gabi then calls Ava the lying, cheating bitch who slept with her husband.

Jack and Jennifer go to the DiMera Mansion. Jennifer hugs Chad and asks where Abigail is. Chad says she’s upstairs getting dressed, so she’ll be down in a minute.

“Abigail” remains in the bedroom and makes a phone call, saying everything is going according to plan.

Marlena sits at home until Kristen arrives with Rachel. Kristen apologizes for being so early and says she tried calling but there was no answer. Marlena says she was up already and tells Rachel it’s so good to see her as they hug. Marlena asks if everything is okay. Rachel says no. Kristen explains that Rachel woke up crying and insisted she needed to see her dad right away. Marlena asks what happened. Rachel responds that she had a nightmare that something bad happened to Brady.

Brady wakes up in his car outside and wonders where he is.

Jada and a cop have the street blocked off with caution tape where Sarah was hit. Jada mentions needing to alert the mayor’s office but Paulina then arrives and says she understands there was a hit and run here last night. Jada confirms it looks like that and explains that Xander found Sarah lying there while hearing a car screeching away. Jada adds that the doctors confirmed Sarah’s injuries look like blunt force trauma. Paulina can’t believe it and wonders what the world is turning to. Paulina asks if there’s any idea who the driver was.

Fiona, Xander, and Maggie sit together at the hospital. Maggie worries about Sarah being in surgery for five hours now. Fiona encourages that means she’s still alive and fighting. Maggie cries that if she just could’ve found the key to the Horton Cabin, Sarah and Xander would’ve been on their way to their honeymoon and this wouldn’t have happened. Xander stops her and declares that the only person to blame is the person who left Sarah there to die. Fiona thinks back to the crash. Xander then declares that he will hunt the bastard down and kill them with his bare hands. Fiona encourages that Sarah needs them to think positive thoughts right now which Maggie agrees with. Xander talks about Sarah being strong and having so much to live for, so she has to be alright. Fiona again flashes back to the crash. Kayla comes out from the emergency room, so Xander asks how Sarah is.

Jada tells Paulina that they don’t have an ID on the driver yet and there’s no witnesses, but they are putting together a press release, asking anyone with knowledge to come forward, and they will be checking security cameras. Paulina asks if they have nothing then. Jada says she wouldn’t say that, pointing out the skid marks and the car clipped a pole while fleeing the scene. Jada adds that there is gray paint on there for forensics to examine. Paulina asks if she’s saying she thinks the car was grey. Jada confirms it would almost certainly have damage to the front end from the impact.

Brady gets out of his car and questions what the hell he’s doing in the garage. Brady then flashes back to drinking at the bar and wonders if he drove drunk.

Kayla reveals that Sarah is stable but her internal injuries were fairly extensive and they repaired them. Kayla adds that they gave Sarah units of blood and may need more. Xander offers to donate whatever she needs. Kayla says they always need donors. Maggie asks if there’s anything else. Kayla says it’s a miracle that Sarah doesn’t have any broken bones and there is still more to evaluate, but she thinks that Sarah will fully recover. Kayla knows Sarah will be highly motivated to get well. Maggie says they will have to keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn’t push too hard. Kayla assures that Sarah will get VIP treatment here as they all love her so much and they are sorry this happened to her.

Marlena tells Rachel that she’s sorry she had a bad dream and asks if she wants to tell her about it. Rachel responds that she just wants to see her dad. Marlena states that Brady is asleep right now, but while they wait for him to wake up, they can make breakfast. Marlena thinks that will make her feel better. Kristen mentions needing to make a phone call to Hong Kong so Marlena takes Rachel to the kitchen to make breakfast. Kristen pulls out her phone and thinks back to her last argument with Brady. Brady then comes in, surprised to see Kristen. Kristen says to look what the cat dragged in.

Xander thanks Kayla for everything. Maggie asks if they can see Sarah. Kayla says she’s still pretty out of it but allows one at a time. Maggie tells Xander to go first. Xander says he won’t stay too long and heads to Sarah’s hospital room. Fiona tells Maggie that it’s good news. Maggie hopes she doesn’t have any complications but she will still have a difficult recovery. Maggie keeps wondering who would leave someone bleeding in the street alone without calling for help. Fiona flashes back to being at the scene of the crash.

Jada talks to her officer about checking the area as there’s a good chance that alcohol was involved. Jada then gets a call from Kayla, who informs her about Sarah. Jada thanks her and hangs up, then informs Paulina that Sarah is out of surgery and expected to make a full recovery. Jada leaves her officer in charge of the crime scene as she’s heading to the hospital. Jada tells Paulina that she needs to question Sarah as soon as possible since she might be their only witness and to see if she can describe the vehicle that hit her.

Kristen questions Brady looking like a deer in headlights. Brady says he just wasn’t expecting to see her this early in the morning. Kristen informs him that his daughter wanted to see him and that she’s in the kitchen with Marlena which is good because she wouldn’t want Rachel seeing Brady on his walk of shame. Brady claims he was working all night since Xander got married yesterday and he was covering for him. Brady then tells Kristen to watch out because Basic Black is coming after Gabi Chic and he thinks she’s going to regret letting them be poached from DiMera.

Xander visits Sarah in her hospital room. Sarah asks what happened to her. Xander informs her that she was hit by a car in the town square and had surgery but Kayla said she will be fine. Xander adds that Maggie and Fiona are outside. Xander asks Sarah if there’s anything she needs. Sarah says she just needs him.

Jada goes to the hospital and asks Kayla about Sarah. Kayla knows Sarah would want to help with the investigation but asks Jada to wait until she’s more fully conscious. Kayla says she will let Sarah know she’s there as Xander is with her now. Jada mentions wanting a statement from him too. After Kayla heads to Sarah’s room, Maggie approaches Jada to ask if she has any idea who did this. Jada says there’s nothing concrete as of right now but they hope that Sarah can possibly ID the driver. Fiona sits worried nearby.

Xander tells Sarah that when she recovers, he will take her anywhere she dreams but not the Horton Cabin, joking that it must be cursed. Sarah asks about Victoria. Xander tells her that Bonnie is watching her. Xander says that Maggie will be in soon to see her as they’ve all been so worried about her. Sarah insists that she’s okay and just very lucky.

Kristen talks on the phone to Mr. Shin, saying she appreciates his confidence in her and talks about the recent gains in the DiMera stock price. Kristen finishes her call as Marlena comes in and asks where Rachel is. Kristen thought she was with her. Marlena says she turned around to do the dishes and then she was gone. Rachel comes in to the room so Kristen asks if she went to see if Brady was awake yet, but Rachel reveals that Brady isn’t in his room and didn’t sleep in his bed last night.

Fiona continues thinking back to the crash and fleeing the scene. Maggie comes over and startles her. Fiona says she’s just a bit on edge with everything that’s happened. Maggie suggests she go back to her hotel to rest but Fiona feels she needs to be there for Xander and Sarah. Xander comes out and asks Jada about needing to speak with him. Xander tells Maggie that Sarah is eager to speak with her, so Maggie heads to Sarah’s room. Xander asks if Jada has any leads. Jada says she just got off the phone with the detective on the scene and unfortunately the security cameras didn’t catch anything but local businesses will be opening soon, so she hopes to get something from them. Jada brings up that Xander gave a brief statement last night but she’s trying to put together a timeline of events if he could go over what happened with anything else he remembers. Xander explains that they were going to take the ferry to Smith Island to honeymoon at the Horton Cabin but Maggie couldn’t find the key, so Sarah went to go help look for it. Xander adds that when Sarah didn’t return, he called Maggie and found out she never made it to the Kiriakis Mansion which is when he went to look for her and found her on the ground. Xander notes that she never made it to her car. Jada asks about him hearing a car screeching away. Xander says he could smell the rubber burning but he couldn’t see the car as it was dark and he was worried about Sarah. Jada points out that Sarah must have been hit shortly after she left him. Xander says it was at least 20 minutes but points out that when he got to Sarah, the driver was still there, so he wonders why they stayed and then fled. Jada points out that you never know what motivates people to do what they do. Jada thanks Xander for his statement and thinks she should go see Sarah now but Fiona stops her and says she doesn’t think that’s a very good idea. Xander questions why not.

Kristen tells Rachel that Brady is entitled to his privacy and where he sleeps is not their concern. Kristen suggests they should just go but Rachel refuses to leave without seeing her dad. Brady then comes in to the room, so Rachel runs up to hug him. Marlena tells Brady that Rachel had a bad dream. Rachel says they said Brady was sleeping while Kristen points out his bed was already made. Brady claims he made his bed as soon as he got up. Rachel questions why, pointing out that he never does that. Rachel tells Brady that she dreamed something bad happened to him. Brady assures her that he’s fine and nothing bad happened. Rachel asks Brady if they can do something together today, just the two of them. Brady says he would love that and it sounds fun as long as it’s okay with Kristen. Kristen agrees and remarks that she just wants to make sure Brady is responsible with their daughter. Brady responds that she knows he is. Kristen brings up that she and Rachel have a mother-daughter day today, so she suggests Brady call her later and they can work something out.

Maggie visits Sarah in the hospital and tells her that when she’s up to, they are going to take Victoria on the mother-daughter day they have been talking about to the aquarium. Maggie offers to tell the nurses that Sarah needs more meds but Sarah asks her not to go and insists she’s okay. Maggie worries that Sarah is in pain but Sarah reminds her that she’s the doctor. Sarah adds that the meds make her brain loopy and she wants to stay clear-headed. Maggie calls her stubborn which Sarah says she takes after her.

Xander asks why Fiona wouldn’t want the police to question Sarah. Fiona argues that Sarah just went through a major surgery and shouldn’t have more stress put on her. Xander introduces Jada to Fiona. Jada informs Fiona that she spoke with Sarah’s doctor, who assured her that it’s okay to interview her. Fiona asks if it’s really necessary right now. Jada insists it’s really important to interview her as soon as possible to see if Sarah might remember anything. Fiona then remarks that they have to do whatever it takes to find out who did this as Xander takes Jada to Sarah’s room.

Rachel hugs Marlena and tells her that she loves her. Rachel then hugs Brady and says she’s so glad he wasn’t smashed by a giant steamroller like in her dream. Brady assures he has no plans of that anytime soon. Brady tells Rachel that he will see her soon. Rachel and Kristen then exit. Brady pours some coffee as Marlena tells him that Rachel was pretty upset when she arrived. Brady remarks that kids have nightmares. Marlena asks if there’s any reason that Rachel should be worried about him. Marlena points out that she’s been a little worried about him, herself. Marlena mentions that he’s been coming home late and when she and John came home last night, she saw he was parked in her space but they were relieved he was home early. Brady claims someone was in his place and offers to move it but Marlena says there’s no need. Brady asks how John is. Marlena says that he’s okay and mentions needing to get him his pain pill so she’ll be right back. Brady then flashes back to being at the bar with Fiona. Brady begins to worry and pulls out his phone to call Fiona. Brady asks Fiona what the hell happened last night.

Xander brings Jada in to Sarah’s room and says she’d like to ask Sarah some questions if that’s alright. Jada says she’ll make it quick and asks Sarah what she remembers from last night. Sarah recalls walking to her car and hearing the sound of an engine, then she turned to look and she was on the ground. Jada asks if she saw the car. Sarah thinks it was gray. Jada asks if there was anything distinctive about it but Sarah doesn’t remember. Jada asks about the driver. Sarah says the lights were so bright that she didn’t see anything.

Fiona asks Brady what he means and questions him not remembering. Brady says he remembers having drinks with her at the bar and the next thing he remembers, he woke up in his car behind the wheel. Brady asks if Fiona knows how he got home. Fiona flashes back to deciding that Xander cannot find out it was her driving, so she moved Brady in to the driver’s seat while he was unconscious and declared that it would be better if he take the fall than her. Fiona tells Brady that if he woke up in his garage, he must have driven home and claims that she tried to make him take a cab but he insisted he was okay to drive. Brady remarks that he clearly wasn’t. Fiona claims she took a cab herself back to the Salem Inn. Brady states that falling off the wagon is one thing but driving drunk. Fiona then tells Brady that she can’t talk right now as Sarah’s been in an accident which shocks Brady as they hang up. Brady then sits down and starts to remember the sounds of the car crash.

Sarah says she’s sorry but Maggie and Xander tell her it’s okay. Jada tells Sarah to focus on her recovery while they are going to do everything they can to find out who did this. Jada then exits. Maggie and Xander get a blanket for Sarah as Kayla comes back in to check on her. Xander covers Sarah with a blanket but Sarah reveals that she can’t feel it. Sarah then tells Xander that she can’t feel his hand or anything.

Kristen and Rachel sit in the town square together. Paulina approaches and greets Rachel, who questions how she knows her name. Paulina says she makes it a point and mentions Rachel writing her a letter, saying she’s going to take her job. Kristen questions Rachel wanting to be Mayor. Rachel points out that she’s rich. Paulina assures it’s not from being Mayor. Kristen thinks it’s a little early for her to be politicking. Paulina mentions checking in on a police investigation. Kristen says she saw the caution tape and asks what happened. Paulina informs Kristen that it was a hit and run. Kristen then steps away with Paulina, who informs Kristen that Sarah Horton was the victim and seriously injured. Kristen asks if there are any leads. Paulina explains that they think it was a gray car and the driver was drunk but you can never be too careful out here. Paulina wishes Rachel luck with her mayoral aspirations and suggests starting with class president. Paulina says it was nice to see them and walks away. Rachel remarks that it will be pretty hard for the police to catch the driver. Kristen questions Rachel listening. Rachel says she was talking pretty loud. Kristen asks why she doesn’t think they will catch the person who did it. Rachel responds that lots of people have gray cars, even her dad.

Marlena comes back in to the living room and asks if Brady has heard from Xander this morning. Brady says he hasn’t and doesn’t expect to. Marlena informs him that she and John were just watching the news and found out that Sarah was hit by a car last night. Brady calls that awful. Marlena adds that what’s even worse is the driver left the scene.

Jada comes out of Sarah’s hospital room, so Fiona asks if Sarah remembered anything. Jada responds that Sarah was unfortunately blinded by the car’s headlights, so she didn’t see who hit her. Fiona calls that unfortunate.

Xander questions Sarah being unable to feel anything. Sarah states that everything is going numb from the waist down and assumes it’s spinal and should wear off soon. Sarah adds that she can’t move her legs at all. Kayla tests Sarah’s reflexes but she doesn’t feel anything at all.

Leo and Hattie are in Leo’s room at the Salem Inn talking about RuPaul’s Drag Race. Hattie can’t believe the show has been on for 16 seasons and she’s never seen it. Leo questions what she’s talking about, pointing out that they’ve watched it together.

At the hospital, Marlena informs John that the doctor agreed to release him. Marlena mentions that she bumped in to Kayla at the nurses station and apparently, Chad and Jack found the woman they were looking for in Poplar Bluff as she came back to the same room that John was being held in. John asks if it was Abigail. Marlena responds that they are about to find out.

Chad and the woman return to Kayla’s office where Jack tells them that Kayla will be back soon with the test results. Jack asks where they went to eat. Chad tells him it was his family estate. Jack asks if she recognized anything but she didn’t. Kayla then returns with the DNA test results and offers it to them to open. The woman suggests Chad do the honors. Chad then opens the envelope and reads the test results, so Jack asks what it says.

In the town square, Sarah tells Maggie on the phone that she will come over and help her find the key to the Horton Cabin. Sarah tells Xander that they have half an hour before the next ferry. Xander offers to go with her but Sarah tells him to go buy their ferry tickets to save time as she exits.

Fiona goes driving with Brady passed out in the back seat. Fiona says there was no way that she was going to let him drive home in this state. Sarah then walks out of the town square and in to the street, causing Fiona to crash in Brady’s car, leaving Sarah bloody and unconscious on the ground.

Chad announces the DNA test results confirm that the woman is a 50% genetic match with Jack. She questions what that means. Kayla reveals that the test says she and Jack are father and daughter. Chad adds that also means she is Abigail, his wife.

Hattie questions Leo saying that they have watched RuPaul’s Drag Race together before. Leo questions her not remembering and asks if she’s feeling okay. Hattie thinks she’s bloated from the pork rinds. Hattie mentions having a fitting tomorrow for Body and Soul. Leo encourages her to drink a lot of water to flush her system. Hattie declares that she will talk to Abe and Kate about making Leo their head writer. Leo thanks her as she talks about how he’d be great at it. Hattie tells Leo that she had a blast and thanks him for inviting her. Hattie says she’ll see him around and calls him Lenny as she exits the room. Leo wonders what the hell is going on with Marlena.

John asks Marlena about the woman not looking like Abigail and being in some sort of accident. Marlena adds that she has no memory of anything before the accident. John questions the accident happening around the same time as they thought Abigail died. They talk about the possibility of Abigail being back.

Jack declares his beautiful daughter is back and excitedly hugs Abigail but she pushes him away and says please don’t.

Xander makes a phone call from the town square.

Fiona tries waking Brady up in the car and informs him that she has hit someone. Fiona gets out of the car and calls out asking if they can hear her. Fiona then gets down and realizes it was Sarah that she hit.

Leo walks through the town square, calling Gwen. Leo leaves a voicemail saying she never picks up but maybe she listens to his voicemails. Leo says it helps him because she will always be his BFF even if she hates him for good reason. Leo talks about being in therapy with Marlena partly to find out why he was such a terrible friend to Gwen. Leo then spots Xander in the town square. Xander is trying to call Sarah and leaves a voicemail, assuming she’s still helping Maggie find the key and maybe she lost her phone too but he hopes she gets this soon because they are very close to missing the last ferry. Leo continues his voicemail to Gwen, telling her about how “Marlena” is acting and he’s afraid to offend her by saying he’s freaked out by it. Leo tells Gwen that he knows he’ll never hear back from her but it helps him and he loves her. Xander leaves another voicemail for Sarah, saying he doesn’t want to pressure her but if the key doesn’t turn up then maybe they can go in the morning since tonight is their wedding night and he hoped to go somewhere special. Xander says he loves her and hangs up as Leo approaches and tells Xander that he loves him too. Xander tells Leo that he was talking to his wife. Leo thought the wedding went belly up. Xander informs him that they had a do-over this afternoon and no one interrupted this time. Leo jokes that you never know when Gwen might appear and then guesses that’s wishful thinking on his part. Leo talks about the voicemail he was leaving for Gwen and starts telling Xander about the Beverly Hillbillies. Xander tells him he doesn’t give a damn, especially right now. Leo says he does miss Gwen, but he’s glad she didn’t spoil his wedding ceremony. Xander adds that if he and Sarah can make it to the ferry on time, nothing will spoil the honeymoon either…

Fiona freaks out over hitting her son’s wife and worries about what to do, telling herself to pull it together. Fiona checks her pulse and is thankful that Sarah is still alive.

John tells Marlena that he wonders if the woman knows anything about how they ended up in the same room in Missouri. Marlena doesn’t think it’s a good time to ask her given all she has been through. John agrees to let Jack and Chad talk to her first and says his priority is getting out of this room. Marlena says her priority will be to get him home and pamper him. Marlena says she’s so glad he’s okay and that he’s back. John tells her how much he missed her as they hug. John says they will make up for lost time, starting right now as he kisses her. John hopes soon they will get some answers from that mystery woman.

Jack apologizes to Abigail as he knows they are all overwhelmed, but she’s his daughter. Abigail responds that she doesn’t know any of them and she thinks she needs to head back to Poplar Bluff. Chad asks her not to go. Abigail says they don’t understand that she doesn’t feel like she belongs here and none of it makes any sense to her at all. Kayla encourages that she is with her family here and she’s her aunt, so she does belong here with them. Abigail says she’s sorry and gets that they feel that way but she doesn’t know how that can be when they are all strangers to her and she does not know them. Chad insists that she does know them and he thinks she will remember them if she gives it some time. Chad says she just has to trust them and give it time. Chad offers to take her home with him which she questions. Chad clarifies that it won’t be the DiMera Mansion but to her family’s house where he lives with Julie and Doug. Chad talks about moving in there when he thought they had lost her. Chad mentions their kids which she questions. Chad tells her that they have a son and a daughter. Chad shows her a picture of Thomas and Charlotte on his phone. Kayla asks if she recognizes them. Abigail responds that she doesn’t and they wouldn’t recognize her either. Chad says they can explain it to them. Abigail questions how they are going to do that when he shows up at home with a strange woman and say it’s their dead mom. She worries that they would all be traumatized. Chad agrees and says they don’t have to go there. Chad doesn’t care where they go as he just wants to be with her.

Leo questions Xander about Sarah being off to get the key to the Horton Cabin. Leo asks about them really being happy together and starts ranting about marriage. Xander talks about he and Sarah being compatible in all kinds of ways in addition to mad sexual chemistry. Leo calls them a beautiful couple and starts talking about how Sarah could’ve been a movie star. Leo talks about how Xander must be proud of Sarah being a doctor. Xander asks him to stop talking. Leo calls him edgy for someone who just got married. Xander says he’s just stressed about missing the last ferry. Leo jokes that he can fill in and then wishes him a great wedding night, saying Sarah is very lucky to have him. Xander says he’s the lucky one as he’s screwed up so many times and Sarah is an angel on Earth so he will never take her for granted again. Leo congratulates him again and jokes that if he gets desperate, he knows where to find him as he walks away. Xander then calls Maggie and asks for an update. Xander asks if Sarah can’t find the key either but Maggie informs him that Sarah is not with her. Xander questions that, pointing out that she left him a while ago to go help her. Xander says there’s no need to worry and he’s sure everything is fine. Xander decides he will go check if she had car trouble and hangs up.

John and Marlena go to the Brady Pub. Marlena still thinks they should’ve gone straight home. John points out that the doctor gave him a clean bill of health, so he thinks he’s capable of having a burger. Marlena first presents John with the note that he left at Catarina’s grave site. Marlena explains that Steve found it there and they wouldn’t have read it since it’s personal, but there was blood on it and he was missing. John says he understands. Marlena asks if he was able to find closure. John says yes and no as he was glad he was able to pay his respects at the grave site, but being there brought it home for him that he took an innocent life.

Fiona worries about what she’s done and what she’s going to tell the police. Xander then comes looking for Sarah, so Fiona runs away. Xander finds Sarah on the ground. and rushes to her side, questioning who did this to her and what happened.

Fiona drives Brady home and says he’s lucky that she got his address from his driver’s license. Fiona tries to wake Brady back up but he remains asleep. Fiona remarks that there’s nothing for him to worry about and tells herself that she had no choice but to leave Sarah there as Xander was on the scene and will get Sarah the help that she needs.

Xander tries to talk to Sarah as she slowly regains consciousness. Xander tells her not to move as he’s going to get her some help. Xander calls for an ambulance to the town square as his wife has been hit by a car and needs help.

Marlena tells John that he’s the best man she’s ever known and that’s why Catarina’s death is weighing so heavily on him. Marlena assures they will get through it together, no matter how long it takes. Leo then walks in to the Pub and greets Marlena, noting that she didn’t tell him John was back. Leo points out that she also changed her clothes which Marlena questions. Leo jokes about her being bloated on pork rinds. Marlena says all she had today was a granola bar. Leo says he just watched her have a whole bag of pork rinds while they were watching their show which Marlena questions. John goes to find their waiter. Leo sits with Marlena and asks why she’s acting like they weren’t just hanging out at his place. Leo then guesses that she doesn’t want John to know that she’s fraternizing with a patient.

Jack tells Abigail that he knows it’s a lot to take in but the Horton house is very warm and welcoming. Chad adds that it used to be her favorite place in the world. Abigail says to her, it’s a strange house that she’s never been to before. She continues to question showing up to his kids with a strange woman to tell them it’s their mother that they don’t recognize. Chad agrees it would be traumatic and suggests the other option is the DiMera Mansion which Abigail agrees to go to.

Marlena tells Leo that she has no idea what he’s talking about. Leo agrees to pretend it never happened and says she understands socializing with her patients is against hospital policy so he says goodnight and goes to get a table. John returns to the table. Marlena tells him that was one of the strangest encounters she’s ever had. John says that’s Leo Stark for her. John then informs Marlena of the bad news that the kitchen is closed so the burger will have to wait. Marlena says they could go to a drive thru but John decides they should just go home. Marlena tells Leo it was good to see him. Leo says the same, joking about it being the first time tonight as Marlena and John exit the Pub.

Chad asks Jack to tell the kids that he’s staying at the DiMera Mansion tonight. Jack assures him that he’s got it. Kayla tells Abigail that if she needs to talk, she’s here for her day and night. Kayla then gets a call and says she’ll be there. Kayla hangs up and says she has to get to the ER. Kayla knows this whole situation must be strange but encourages Abigail that they all love her and will all be there for whatever she needs, however long it takes. Abigail thanks her as Kayla then exits. Jack tells her that Kayla is right that even if she doesn’t recognize them, it’s alright and they understand. Jack declares that what’s important is that she’s here and alive. Jack says there are no words. Abigail tells Chad that she’s ready so they exit together.

Hattie goes to the Brady Pub. Leo points out that she’s back and she changed again, thinking she’s Marlena. Hattie questions him. Leo asks what the hell is going on here and if she’s gaslighting him. Hattie asks what he is on about. Leo asks if she ditched her husband to come back to see him. She asks him what husband.

Xander sits at Sarah’s side in her hospital bed as Kayla enters the room. Xander explains to Kayla that they had just gotten married and she was hit by a car. Kayla tells Xander to leave the room so they can do their work. Xander calls out to Sarah that they have their whole lives ahead of them as he exits the room.

Fiona tells herself that she knows Xander will get Sarah to the hospital in time and she will pull through this. Fiona wonders what to do as she can’t just sit here. Fiona then gets a call from Xander and answers it, saying she thought he was on his honeymoon. Xander informs her that something happened and he needs her.

Hattie tells Leo that she’d love to stay and talk but she has to get to sleep as Roman rented her a room above the Pub. Hattie tells him it was nice seeing him again and heads to her room. Leo then tells himself that this is just like Everett, so he declares that Marlena has a split personality.

Marlena and John go home, where Marlena wonders why Brady parked in her space.

Xander calls Maggie, telling her he doesn’t know what happened but she needs to get to the hospital as he and Sarah need her. Fiona then arrives and hugs Xander, asking if Sarah is alright. Xander says he doesn’t know as they are working on her now but she was in bad shape. Fiona asks what happened. Xander responds that it was a hit and run as some bastard hit her with their car and just drove off, leaving Sarah on the side of the road. Fiona questions how anyone can do such a thing. Xander declares that when they find the driver, he’s going to tear them limb from limb as Fiona hugs him.

John tells Marlena that maybe Brady had a long day and was distracted when he pulled in. John decides he’ll give him a call but Marlena decides it’s late and there’s no harm done, so they head inside, unaware that Brady is passed out in his car.

Jack calls Jennifer and announces that he has news about Abigail.

Chad and Abigail go to the DiMera Mansion. Chad says it looks like nobody is around. They talk about the portrait of Stefano. Chad says he will let the staff know to make up a room for each of them. Abigail thanks him as Chad says he’ll be back and exits the room. Abigail then remarks that she guesses Abigail’s home.

Maggie, Fiona, Xander, and Sarah have wedding cake together. Maggie asks how it feels to be husband and wife again. Xander responds that it’s only been about an hour, but it’s even better than the first time. Sarah agrees and says she’s so happy that Fiona could be there for the wedding on such short notice. Fiona says she wouldn’t have missed it for the world and praises Maggie officiating. Maggie calls it pure joy for her to marry her two favorite people on the planet. Xander brings up that he did take off his first day as CEO of Titan. Maggie is sure no one will hold it against him since it was his wedding day. Xander mentions that he did have an important meeting that he was hoping Brady could close the deal on for him, but he just got a text that Brady never even showed up, so he wonders what happened.

Brady drinks at Small Bar and orders another double. Brady looks at a picture of Tate on his phone as he drinks.

Tate and Holly are back at the Horton Cabin on Smith Island. Holly complains about Sophia still being mean to her but if she tells anyone about them, she’ll have to work at the Bistro. Tate hates that Holly is in the position. Holly says the important thing is that they get to spend time together. Tate asks if Holly honestly thinks that Sophia will keep quiet. Holly says she gave her money and promised more on the way, so she’s pretty positive that she will. Tate then gets a call from Brady and hopes that Holly is right, otherwise he will be in serious trouble.

Jack goes to see Kayla in her office at the hospital. Kayla hoped to see him and asks how it went in Poplar Bluff. Jack calls it quite an adventure, but aside from all that, he’s sure that she heard they found John being held captive in an abandoned building. Kayla calls it a crazy coincidence. Jack thinks it had something to do with their search for Abigail, but he doesn’t know how it fits yet. Kayla asks if they came home empty handed then. Jack reveals that they didn’t, so Kayla asks if they found Abigail.

Chad is at the hospital with the woman from Poplar Bluff. Chad warns her against the hospital coffee and talks about overwhelming this must be for her to have two strangers thinking she could be his dead wife or dead daughter. She admits it doesn’t happen every day. Chad thanks her for flying back with them to figure out the truth. She says not to thank her yet because she’s starting to think this was a huge mistake.

Fiona asks Xander who Brady is. Xander responds that he’s his idiot cousin or now his idiot nephew. Sarah tells Xander to be nice because Brady is a good person. Xander remarks that Brady totally flaked on helping him out today so he knew he shouldn’t have left him in charge. Maggie assures that Brady must have had a good reason as he’s usually reliable. Sarah points out that Maggie knows Brady better than most. Maggie confirms they have gotten close since she’s been his sponsor. Fiona questions that and assumes Maggie is in AA too, then apologizes and says it’s none of her business. Maggie says it’s alright as they are family now. Maggie then invites Fiona to a meeting while she’s in town. Fiona says that’s very kind and she’ll let her know. Sarah gets an alert on her phone that Theresa was transferred to prison earlier today and guesses that’s why Brady didn’t show up. Xander feels he still could’ve at least called to let him know.

Holly wonders if Sophia told Brady about them. Tate decides there’s only one way to find out and answers the call. Brady tells Tate that he just wanted to make sure he got to New York since he was supposed to call him when he landed. Tate apologizes and says he forgot. Brady mentions that it’s hard to hear him. Tate claims that the camp is in the woods so there’s not a lot of cell towers. Tate then tells Brady that it’s kind of hard to hear him too and asks where he is.

Jack informs Kayla that he and Chad met someone who could be Abigail, but she doesn’t look like her which Kayla questions. Jack explains that the woman told them that she was in a really bad accident a few years ago at the same time that Abigail died and had reconstructive surgery. Kayla questions her not knowing if she was Abigail. Jack adds that she said she had amnesia as the accident left her with no memory of her past. Kayla guesses it could be Abigail. Jack responds that is why they need Kayla to do a DNA test on her.

Chad questions the woman thinking it was a mistake. She’s afraid it was a big waste of his time and questions what are the odds that she’s his supposedly dead wife. Chad knows it sounds crazy but they were sent on a search that led to her and the pieces fit together so far. She feels it’s still far fetched, so she’s worried that they are setting themselves up for a terrible disappointment. Chad says it’s hard not to get hopes up but it will all be resolved soon after the DNA test as they will know one way or the other. She agrees but questions what if she is Abigail since they can’t just be together when she doesn’t know him at all. Jack comes over and announces that Kayla is ready to give the DNA test. She says they’ve come this far so there’s no sense in turning back now.

Xander and Sarah have champagne while Maggie and Fiona have sparkling cider. Xander asks who wants to make the first toast. Fiona goes first with an old Scottish wedding blessing which Sarah calls really beautiful. Xander toasts to Sarah, pointing out that if not for her, he and Fiona never would’ve reconnected. Xander adds that they have their issues to work out, but now thanks to Sarah, they have that chance and he’s so grateful. Fiona goes to refill her glass but secretly fills it with champagne instead of sparkling cider.

Tate asks Brady again where he is. Brady claims he’s at home but Tate questions the noise in the background. Brady claims it’s the TV. Brady says he’s glad he got to camp safely and that he got to see his mom before she was transferred to prison. Tate still wishes that Brady let him stay in Salem. Brady insists it’s important he doesn’t miss camp. Tate questions if that’s the only reason. Brady asks what he means. Tate says it kind of felt like Brady couldn’t wait to get rid of him. Brady says that’s so not true and he just wants him to honor his commitment to camp. Brady adds that he can’t wait for him to come home as he misses him already. Tate says he’s glad he called and they will talk soon. Brady says he loves him and hangs up. Tate assures Holly that Brady thinks he’s at camp, although he will be going home in a few weeks. Holly hopes they won’t have to meet in secret shortly after since their parents seemed kind of open to letting them date. Tate says his mom practically gave them her blessing after getting arrested. They talk about how they still have to be careful and make sure their parents don’t find out they were sneaking around all summer. Tate says they should make the most of their time together as they kiss.

Kayla gets a swab from the woman and Jack and says they will soon find out if they are father and daughter. Chad asks how long the results will take. Kayla says she will have the lab put a rush on it then it will take an hour or two. Kayla says they are welcome to wait there and she’ll be back as she exits. The woman mentions that she’s starving and asks about getting something to eat. Chad mentions the cafeteria downstairs but she bets the food isn’t any better than the coffee. Chad then offers to take her to a place he knows which she agrees to, so they exit together while Jack stays behind.

Sarah checks on Victoria and she’s still sleeping. Maggie says she’d be more than happy to take care of her if they are planning a honeymoon. They assure she will get that chance since they are determined to get away for at least a couple of days. Xander wishes it could be longer but he can’t afford to be away from Titan for that long. Sarah says that works for her since she can’t be away from Victoria that long. Fiona adds that she’s happy to pitch in as well as she would love to spend more time with her granddaughter. Xander asks if that means she’s sticking around Salem for awhile. Fiona says yes if that’s alright. Fiona then gets a text from Brady, inviting her to join him for drinks at Small Bar. Xander notices that she looks happy and asks if the message is from her secret man. Fiona says maybe, so Xander tells her not to let them keep her as they were about to wrap up the party anyways. Fiona decides in that case, she will let him know that she’s available.

Brady gets Fiona’s text back that she is on her way. The waiter comes over and remarks that this must be Brady’s home away from home since he heard him on the phone say that he was at home. Brady accuses him of eavesdropping on his private conversation. The waiter questions Brady saying it’s private when he’s in the middle of a bar. Brady doesn’t care and tells him that whatever he says on the phone is none of his business. The waiter tells him to forget he said anything and walks away while calling Brady a jackass which causes Brady to angrily confront him.

Tate and Holly continue kissing in the cabin. She starts lifting Tate’s shirt so he questions what she is doing. Holly responds that she thinks they should have sex.

Kayla returns to her office and tells Jack that the lab is working on the samples. Jack informs her that Chad and the woman went to get something to eat, but he thinks Chad may have had a hidden agenda.

Chad brings the woman to the DiMera Mansion. She thought they were going to a restaurant. Chad says he won’t let her starve and informs her that he texted the chef on the way over to whip something up for them. She asks where they are. Chad explains that this is his family’s estate where he lived with his wife and their two kids. Chad notes that Abigail didn’t love living there but it was their home. She guesses that’s why he brought her here, hoping it would trigger some memories. Chad admits he’d be lying if he said that wasn’t true. Chad asks if anything seems familiar as she looks around the living room.

Brady tells the waiter to have the guts to call him a name to his face. He tells Brady to calm down. Fiona then arrives and questions what’s going on. Brady complains that the waiter was eavesdropping and gave him attitude. Fiona assures it was just a misunderstanding and suggests not spoiling a good time before it starts. Brady agrees and goes back to the table while Fiona apologizes to the waiter and tells him to let it go and she’ll make sure he gets a big tip. Fiona joins Brady and says she was very glad to get his text. Brady says he was glad she responded and asks how the wedding was. Fiona says it was lovely while Brady comments on not wanting to spend that much time with Xander. Fiona points out that Xander is no big fan of Brady’s either, especially since he blew off the important meeting at Titan. Brady laughs as he forgot all about it and then explains that he ran in to his son. Fiona thought he was away at camp. Brady says he is and calls it a long story, then adds that he also had to go see his dad in the hospital. Fiona asks if he’s alright. Brady responds that he will be just fine but between all that, he missed the meeting and needed a drink. Fiona suggests ordering a couple of rounds.

Maggie tells Sarah and Xander that she’s enjoying Fiona’s company and calls her delightful. Xander feels she wouldn’t say that if she met her back when they lost Titus. Xander admits he hasn’t seen her like this since he was a kid so it’s like he finally got his real mother back. Maggie is glad she got herself together and credits Sarah for it all. Maggie asks if they have any idea where they want to go for their honeymoon. Sarah says they are saving the big honeymoon so they are thinking a few days somewhere like the Green Mountain Lodge. Maggie then suggests the Horton Cabin..

Tate tells Holly that he didn’t realize she was thinking about sex or thought they were ready for that. Holly questions why they wouldn’t be unless he doesn’t want to. Tate assures that he wants to. Holly says she does too as they continue kissing. Tate then removes his shirt and they kiss onto the couch. Holly starts to undress but Tate says maybe they should talk about this for a minute. Holly questions what there is to talk about. Tate asks if Holly’s ever done it before. Holly says no and Tate hasn’t either. Holly says it’s good that they can be each other’s first. Tate brings up that he doesn’t have any protection but Holly reveals that she does.

Jack finishes a call with Jennifer, saying he will let her know as soon as he knows anything. Kayla asks how Jennifer reacted when he told her about the woman they brought back. Jack says she’s just trying to stay neutral and doesn’t want to get her hopes up. Jack adds that it’s too late for him to do that obviously. Jack talks about believing Abigail is still alive and if it’s just a hoax, then it’s like having to grieve all over again. Jack is not sure that he and Jennifer can handle that heartbreak all over again.

The woman looks at the portrait of Stefano and guesses he’s the lord of the manor. Chad explains that Stefano was his father but he passed away several years ago. She calls him very intimidating. Chad says he was but Abigail didn’t mind standing up to him. She comments on a vase which Chad notes that Abigail bought when they lived in Paris together. Chad apologizes as he doesn’t mean to pressure her. She understands that he just needs her to be Abigail.

Sarah questions why she didn’t think of her family’s cabin. Xander asks if it’s definitely empty. Sarah assures that it is. Maggie thinks it’s a great idea as it’s cozy and romantic. Maggie adds that Johnny and Chanel spent their honeymoon there earlier this year. Sarah jokingly reminds that Julie showed up and kind of ruined the romance. Maggie promises they would be completely alone with no unexpected visitors. Xander decides that sounds perfect. Sarah points out that it’s only a ferry ride away, so they could start their honeymoon tonight…

Holly tells Tate that she got protection from the drug store while waiting for him in the town square. Tate jokes that he didn’t know she had this whole agenda. Holly explains that when she ran in to Sophia, she was grilling her about if they’ve done it and when she said no, she was giving her a hard time about it. Tate questions why Sophia would do that when it’s none of her business. Holly notes that Sophia did point out that Tate rented them a hotel room on prom night. Tate insists that was so they could be alone, not so he could seduce her or something. Holly questions what he’s saying and worries that Sophia was right that he changed his mind about her. Tate assures that she has no idea how badly he wants to be with her. Holly asks what they are waiting for then and kisses him. Tate stops her and says this is a bad idea.

Fiona and Brady laugh together as he tries to explain Tate being the son of one of his exes while another of his exes gave birth to him while they continue drinking. Fiona thinks they should take this back to her place. Brady says he’d like to but he has to go home because his family needs him. Brady and Fiona then kiss at the table.

Kayla tells Jack that she’s so sorry that he and his family are going through this. Kayla asks how JJ reacted to the news. Jack says that he think Clyde is lying and refuses to believe his sister is alive. Kayla hopes he’s wrong and says she will go check the tests so hopefully they can finally get answers.

Chad and the woman eat sandwiches at the DiMera Mansion. Chad talks about how the sandwich was a Vietnamese meal that he and Abigail had ordered in the past. Chad then gets a text that the DNA test results are in.

Holly asks Tate why this is a bad idea. Tate doesn’t like that Sophia made her feel insecure, so he feels like they’d just be doing it to prove a point like Sophia is forcing them in to it. Holly questions if he feels forced. Tate says that’s not what he means and repeats that he doesn’t like that Sophia made her feel weird for waiting and he doesn’t want that to be the reason they decide not to wait. Holly admits she gets that and she doesn’t want that to be the reason either. Holly says when they actually do go through it, she wants to spend the whole night with him. Tate says he would like that too as they hug. Holly decides she should get back to the Kiriakis Mansion and put Maggie’s key back, not that anyone’s looking for it tonight anyways…

Xander and Sarah walk through the town square. Sarah says they can catch the last ferry to Smith Island. Xander jokes about Sarah bringing all her clothes when she won’t need them as they kiss. Sarah then gets a call from Maggie and asks if she’s on her way. Maggie responds that she can’t seem to find the key to the Horton Cabin and wonders if Johnny and Chanel still had it. Sarah confirms they gave it back to her and she put it in the drawer in the study. Maggie assures it’s not there so Sarah decides she will come over and help her find it. Sarah tells Xander that they have half an hour before the next ferry. Xander offers to go with her but Sarah tells him to go buy their ferry tickets to save time.

Chad and the woman return to Kayla’s office where Jack tells them that Kayla will be back soon with the test results. Jack asks where they went to eat. Chad tells him it was his family estate. Jack asks if she recognized anything but she didn’t. Kayla then returns with the DNA test results and offers it to them to open. The woman suggests Chad do the honors. Chad then opens the envelope and reads the test results, so Jack asks what it says.

Fiona goes driving with Brady passed out in her back seat. Fiona says there was no way that she was going to let him drive home in this state. Sarah then walks out of the town square and in to the street, causing a crash with Fiona’s car.

Kate sits in the Brady Pub and texts Abe, asking if it’s done.

Abe is at the Body and Soul office and gets Kate’s texts, asking if he told Bonnie there is no way they are casting her as Cassandra Lovegood. Bonnie then arrives and greets Abe, calling him her favorite soap opera producer. Bonnie calls it an honor to read for the part but calls it just a formality because he was born to play the role.

Stefan remains in the living room of the DiMera Mansion with a drink and tells the portrait of Stefano that they are toasting to the health of his marriage since he decided to take Kristen’s advice and not tell Gabi that he cheated on her with Ava.

In the town square, Johnny questions Ava about Kristen hiring her to oversee all new business ventures at DiMera including the relaunch of Gabi Chic. Johnny has no doubt that Ava can handle herself at DiMera, but doesn’t see why she would choose to do so. Ava acknowledges that she and Gabi have had trouble playing nice in the past but they’ve agreed to bury the hatchet. Johnny wonders which one will cut the other off at the knees. Ava appreciates his concern but insists that any animosity that she and Gabi had is a thing of the past.

Gabi questions why Connie thinks Stefan cheated on her. Connie decides it’s none of her business but Gabi says she obviously heard or saw something that has her confused and questions who she thinks Stefan cheated on her with. Connie says it was Ava. Gabi reminds her that Stefan was only pretending to be dating Ava as it was all a show since they were being forced to run drugs for Clyde Weston. Gabi calls it all a ruse. Connie wishes for her sake that was true. Gabi states that they kissed a couple times and it was no big deal. Connie asks if she’s sure about that. Gabi admits a few years ago, if she found out some other woman even looked at her man, she would’ve been horrified and out for revenge but going to prison for a second time gave her a lot of time to think about what’s important and that is her husband and daughter. Gabi declares that Stefan told her everything that happened so they are putting it behind them and so is Ava. Connie guesses that she must have heard wrong then. Connie tells Gabi how excited she is for her vision of the Gabi Chic relaunch. Gabi then asks Connie what exactly she heard. Connie claims it’s not important but Gabi insists that she wants to put whatever rumor to rest so they can get back to work. Connie then reveals that she overheard Ava talking to Kristen and she didn’t mean to eavesdrop. Gabi yells at Connie to just tell her what she heard. Connie then admits to Gabi that Ava was telling Kristen that she had sex with Stefan.

Leo sits in his room at the Salem Inn, typing up a script for Body and Soul on his laptop. Leo declares that after this script, the ratings for Body and Soul will go through the roof. Hattie then arrives at his door, noting that Leo seems surprised to see her so she asks if he was expecting someone else. Leo says no and calls it a new look for Marlena. Hattie reminds him that he invited her over to watch RuPaul’s Drag Race, so she brought snacks.

Roman joins Kate at the Pub and says he knows her look all too well, guessing that somebody is in her doghouse. Kate confirms that’s Abe as she can’t believe she let him strongarm her in to casting Hattie as Charlemagne and letting Leo write a trial script. Roman admits that sounds like a double dose of trouble. Kate says it gets worse since Bonnie is chomping at the bit to play Cassandra and remarks that their reboot of Body and Soul is starting to seem more like amateur hour at the Salem community theatre. Roman encourages seeing a mime showing of Hamlet there. Kate complains that Abe won’t listen to a word she says. Roman suggests just telling Abe to tell Bonnie no. Kate says that she did, so hopefully he’s giving Bonnie the bad news as they speak.

Bonnie asks Abe where he wants her to audition but Abe stops her and says she’s not auditioning today.

Johnny tells Ava that he’s going to be directing Body and Soul as Abe and Kate just hired him. Ava calls that great, given his love for filmmaking. Johnny praises her at DiMera and says that she and Gabi are both very talented, so he’s sure they will be a force to be reckoned with. Ava thanks him. Johnny decides he should get to the production office because Abe wanted him to weigh in on an actress they are looking at for Cassandra Lovegood. Johnny tells Ava that it was good catching up and walks away. Stefan then approaches Ava and says he heard she had a chat with Gabi. Ava confirms that she backed up the story that they only kissed a couple times. Stefan complains about feeling like a slime ball for lying to his wife on their anniversary. Ava encourages that he did what he had to do to protect his marriage. Ava argues that he has a real shot at happiness and questions why screwing that up.

Connie tells Gabi that she’s so sorry that she had to hear the painful truth from her. Gabi argues that it’s not the truth and that Connie must have misheard or assumed they were talking about sex. Connie insists that she didn’t just assume since Ava said “I have this terrible feeling that Stefan is going to tell Gabi that he and I slept together while she was in prison.”

Stefan tells Ava that Kristen told him the same thing after he was convinced on coming clean with Gabi, but Kristen talked him out of it by saying it would be selfish to tell Gabi. Stefan adds that he and Ava never would’ve slept together had they not been wasted. Ava agrees and talks about how Gabi’s wrath would be directed at both of them. Stefan says it’s not pretty when Gabi is angry. Ava calls it all the more reason to keep Gabi in the dark.

Gabi declares that she will kill him and trashes the flowers that Stefan sent to her. Connie asks if Gabi is okay. Gabi says she’s fine and asks when exactly Connie heard Ava talking to Kristen. Connie informs her that it was when Gabi was out with Stefan for their anniversary and she rushed over to the Bistro to tell her because she couldn’t stand the thought of Ava and Stefan making a fool of her. Gabi questions why she didn’t tell her. Connie says she saw how happy Gabi looked with Stefan and she couldn’t bring herself to ruin that. Gabi questions why she’s telling her now then. Connie says she heard her talking about putting the past behind her with Ava but she knew that she didn’t know about this, so she didn’t feel right keeping a secret like this from her.

Hattie tells Leo that she got excited and came over early. Leo talks about their relationship having boundaries as if she is Marlena. Leo points out that he doesn’t have a couch so they’ll just have to sit on the bed as they watch TV. Hattie says it will be so much fun and thanks him for inviting her to hang out. Leo talks about being surprised she could make it. Hattie shows him that she brought pork rinds and root beer which surprises Leo. Hattie then asks Leo what he’s writing on his laptop. Leo calls it a sample script for Body and Soul, explaining that it’s being rebooted in Salem. Hattie excitedly exclaims that she’s the star of the show, leaving Leo confused.

Bonnie asks Abe if they are getting rid of Cassandra. Abe explains that they just think she needs a little more acting experience. Bonnie argues that Hattie doesn’t have experience. Bonnie reminds Abe how she pretended to be Adrienne for months, thinking that counts for something. Johnny arrives and asks if he’s coming in the middle of a scene. Bonnie explains Abe not letting her audition because she doesn’t have acting experience. Bonnie points out that she even fooled Justin while pretending to be Adrienne. Johnny admits that she has a point. Abe tells him not to encourage her. Bonnie argues that they haven’t cast the role yet so he has nothing to lose by letting her audition. Johnny tells Abe to give her a shot.

Connie claims that it kills her to have to tell Gabi this because she’s the last person she would ever want to hurt. Connie asks if Gabi is mad at her. Gabi says she’s grateful to her for being the only person in her life to tell her the truth when everyone else has been lying to her face. Gabi screams that she has to get out of here to find that lying son of a bitch that she made the mistake of marrying. After Gabi storms out of the office, Connie happily remarks that Gabi is going to destroy her life just like she destroyed Li’s.

Hattie tells Leo that she is playing Charlemagne which shocks Leo as he thinks she is Marlena. Leo questions her giving up her life’s work to be an actor on a soap opera.

Roman tells Kate that he knows she’d be reluctant to hire Leo Stark but from what he hears, Hattie’s gotten great reviews. Kate argues that Roman just has a soft spot for Hattie so he’s defending her. Roman points out that they owe Hattie since she’s the one who convinced him to forgive her for the whole Steve/Stefano debacle. Kate says she has nothing personal against Hattie but she’s not leading lady material. Roman encourages that she could grow in to the role. Kate says that Abe said the same thing and decides that she will let Hattie and Leo hang themselves but she draws the line at Bonnie. Kate declares there is no way that she is letting Bonnie near her set. Roman thinks she might be getting all worked up over nothing since Abe might have already kicked Bonnie to the curb.

Abe tells Bonnie that he and Kate have made their decision and they don’t believe she is right for the part. Bonnie says she understands and that she was just over the moon, thinking that she might be on television but guesses it’s not in the cards for her. Johnny stops her and questions how Abe knows Bonnie isn’t right for the part if he never even let her read. Johnny points out that Abe doesn’t know his work and he hired him. Johnny then offers to direct Bonnie’s audition. Bonnie says she would be grateful and compares it to being in a play in fourth grade. Abe tells them to get on with it as they are running out of time. Bonnie talks about being nervous. Johnny wants Abe to think of it as his audition too since he will direct Bonnie. Bonnie promises that if Abe thinks she sucks, she will totally understand. Abe agrees to let them do the audition. Bonnie excitedly hugs Abe, promising that he won’t regret it.

Gabi races to the town square where she sees Stefan and Ava. Gabi remarks to herself that they are probably planning their next sleazy encounter in public. Stefan talks to Ava about the guilt while Ava encourages that he did the right thing. Ava reminds Stefan that they just need to forget it ever happened, so they can all just move on. Gabi then walks up and asks if someone said her name.

Johnny gives Bonnie her script. Bonnie talks about actors sometimes having a hard time memorizing lines and brings up cue cards but Abe says to just start the audition. Bonnie tells Johnny to direct her as she’s ready. Johnny encourages her to be natural with real, raw emotion which Bonnie calls her specialty. Bonnie starts but struggles and asks to start over.

Leo is having a hard time picturing Marlena as an actor. Hattie argues that he doesn’t even know her and asks what he does picture her as. Leo brings up the people she helps that need her. Hattie remarks that all they do is complain. Leo comments that everyone is entitled to reinvent themselves. Hattie calls that a chapter in her favorite self help book. Leo says that’s his favorite so she must be putting him on. Hattie then says they have to quit chatting because their show is about to start.

Connie says to herself that Gabi should be at the Bistro by now and she wishes she could be there to watch her marriage to Stefan go down in flames.

Gabi says it looked intense and asks what Ava and Stefan were talking about. Ava responds that they were talking about how glad they are that Gabi knows what happened between them. Gabi questions if she means that they kissed a couple times while pretending to be a couple. Ava insists it meant nothing so Gabi guesses there’s nothing more to talk about. Stefan asks Gabi if everything is okay. Gabi asks why it wouldn’t be. Stefan asks if she believes him that nothing else happened between he and Ava. Gabi asks what possible reason she would have to think he would lie about it. Stefan says he wouldn’t but asks why Gabi came by. Gabi says she was on her way to the Bistro and saw them, so she wanted to thank Stefan for the flowers and for her husband to know how much she appreciates him. Gabi then kisses Stefan and tells Ava that she will see her at work. Gabi says she will see Stefan at home and walks away.

Roman tells Kate that she has to admire what Hattie, Leo, and Bonnie are doing by trying to change their lives for the better with legitimate work. Kate insists that Bonnie will have to find another way because she will not sign off on her being cast on the show.

Johnny encourages Bonnie to relax. Bonnie talks about being so nervous that it might not get any better. Johnny encourages channeling the nerves in to positive energy. Johnny directs Bonnie to use a time where she felt guilty to relate to Cassandra feeling guilty. Bonnie doesn’t like to dwell on that as it makes her think she doesn’t deserve Justin’s love because what she did was unforgivable. Bonnie points out that Justin did forgive her even if she still hates herself for what she did. Johnny says he’s sorry to hear that but encourages her to use this in the scene. Bonnie then emotionally begins reading the script. Johnny tells her after that it was fantastic. Bonnie credits Johnny’s directing. Johnny calls her a talented actor who got completely lost in the character and was believable. Johnny turns to Abe, who admits it was wonderful. Bonnie asks what that means. Abe announces that Bonnie has the part which thrills her.

Leo and Hattie finish watching RuPaul’s Drag Race. Hattie calls it the most fun she’s ever had with her clothes on. Leo tells her that he’s really enjoying this new side of her.

Abe joins Kate at the Brady Pub. Kate asks if Bonnie gave him a hard time when he told her that she couldn’t play Cassandra. Abe responds that she didn’t because he told her that she could play Cassandra.

Bonnie tells Johnny that she can’t believe it and she can’t wait to tell Justin that she’s going to be a soap star. Johnny congratulates her but notes that now she has to put in the real work which Bonnie questions. Johnny says he has notes on how to make her performance better, pointing out that her character of Cassandra is using her emotions to manipulate people. Bonnie compares it to how she manipulated him in to caring about her feelings and starts coming on to him, but reveals she was just acting which Johnny admits was convincing. Johnny decides he has no more notes for her and tells her to just learn her lines and he will see her at rehearsal. Bonnie thinks they will work well together.

Stefan asks Ava if she thinks Gabi knows. Ava asks why he would say that. Stefan points out that Gabi was acting weird. Ava insists that if Gabi knew, she would’ve said something and taken a knife to their throats. Stefan agrees and decides she doesn’t know then. Ava tells him that Gabi has accepted what they have told her and she trusts him. Ava adds that she and Gabi are co-existing at work so maybe one day they will actually be friends.

Gabi returns to the DiMera Enterprises office and tells Connie that she’s not going to confront Stefan. Connie asks if she’s just going to let them get away with it. Gabi says she’s not one to do that, bringing up how she almost blew up Julie’s heart. Gabi declares that right now, she needs to focus on getting proof that Stefan slept with Ava. Connie brings up Ava saying it herself. Gabi says that Ava will just deny it if she confronts her about it, so she’s going to need as much ammunition as possible to blow them out of the water and she’s going to need Connie’s help to do that.

Stephanie finds one of Alex’s ties outside his door and brings it in to him at his apartment. Alex comments on the tie and how Titan was as close to he’ll get to power again. Alex talks about getting moved back in and how he was so busy running Titan that he never really got rid of anything so it was an easy move. Stephanie figures there must be something to do and tells Alex to put her to work. Alex is sure she has better things to do than help him unpack. Stephanie says she’s her own boss so she took a mental health day and sitting in her apartment, staring at the walls while thinking of the man she loved that died is not a great prescription for mental health. Alex asks if she wants to talk. Stephanie knows he has better things to do and says she already talked his ear off last night. Alex reminds her that he’s there for her any time.

Paulina goes to see Jada in the commissioner’s office at the police station. Paulina encourages the job Jada is doing and how citizens are relieved that Rafe’s would-be assailant is no longer on the streets or a threat to society. Paulina apologizes since Jada was married to Bobby. Jada shows Paulina the “suicide note” that Everett is thought to have left and says it’s bothering her.

Chanel joins Johnny in the town square. Johnny calls it unbelievable that Rafe got stabbed just because Jada’s jealous ex wanted her back. Chanel knows it must be hard for Jada to work the case. Johnny adds that he’s sure Jada feels responsible. Chanel remarks that no one is to blame except for that loony psychopath, right as Connie walks up and tells her to shut her mouth.

Ava goes to the DiMera Enterprises office and brings flowers to Gabi, saying that a messenger just delivered them. Gabi reads the note that they are from Stefan and calls him Mr. Romantic.

Kristen enters the living room of the DiMera Mansion and comments on Stefan pacing inside. Stefan questions Kristen thinking their family business will survive with her hours. Kristen says she came to see her daughter Rachel and since she will be running the place one day, she considers it work hours. Kristen asks why Stefan isn’t serving people lunch. Stefan responds that he hires waiters for that and that he came back here to weigh his options in regards to his marriage. Kristen asks if there’s trouble in paradise already again. Stefan tells her that it’s guilt that is making him physically sick. Stefan complains that he cheated on his wife while she was in prison and tells Kristen that the only cure for what’s eating him up inside is to tell Gabi the truth, so maybe he needs to bite the bullet and do just that. Kristen jokes that she’ll help him search the house for his remaining common sense. Stefan tells her to imagine how it made him feel that yesterday was their anniversary. Stefan explains that he wined and dined Gabi at the Bistro and recited a poem, then before he knew it, Gabi wanted to know all about the time they were apart and the time he spent pretending to date Ava. Stefan adds that he told Gabi that he and Ava kissed twice which is the truth, but lying to Gabi’s face on their anniversary is wrong and he needs to make it right.

Gabi says she’s a lucky woman and thanks Ava for letting her leave work to be with Stefan. Gabi adds that she got a little more than she bargained for at their lunch since she and Stefan talked and he told her about everything that happened between he and Ava while she was in prison.

Connie tells Chanel and Johnny that the person who stabbed Rafe was not a psycho. Johnny questions who she is and why she’s defending the guy. Connie argues that the paper said Everett Lynch had a mental illness so their words were uncalled for. Chanel agrees that she should’ve chosen her words more carefully. Johnny remarks that whoever stabbed Rafe is clearly disturbed as they would have to be to try and murder a completely innocent man.

Jada tells Paulina that she printed the suicide note off Everett’s computer and that Bobby allegedly wrote it which Paulina questions. Jada states that the more she reads it, she can’t shake the feeling that something is not right.

Stephanie tells Alex how Everett could be so sweet, funny, and smart so it’s hard for her to imagine that he did what he confessed to doing. Alex points out that it was Bobby. Stephanie notes that Bobby was a part of Everett. Stephanie feels she should’ve seen the signs since she and Everett were almost engaged. Alex argues that he was hiding parts of himself for his entire life. Stephanie feels stupid. Alex relates to part of him knowing he shouldn’t have trusted Theresa but he ate up every one of her lies and now he’s hoping that they don’t reduce her jail sentence because of her ISA brother and father pulling strings. Stephanie then informs Alex that she just talked to Andrew, who confirmed Theresa is on her way to prison but only for six months. Alex is shocked that Theresa only gets six months for ruining his life.

Jada tells Paulina that once she got over the initial shock, something has just been nagging at her as it doesn’t sound like Bobby with the phrasing. Jada says anyone could type a note. Paulina asks if she’s talking about anyone in particular.

Connie tells Johnny and Chanel that Rafe didn’t deserve a knife in the back and she hopes he gets better for Gabi’s sake. Johnny questions her knowing Gabi. Connie then introduces herself as Gabi’s new executive assistant. Johnny then introduces himself, noting that Gabi is married to his uncle, and introduces his wife Chanel. Connie tells Chanel it’s a pleasure to meet her as she’s at the Bakery all the time. Connie apologizes for being testy earlier and says she will order some biscuits now. Connie talks about Gabi being through so much with her brother in the hospital and how horribly she’s been betrayed by the people close to her. Johnny questions what she means by that.

Ava hopes Gabi and Stefan had better things to do on their anniversary than talk about the misery that Clyde put them through. Gabi clarifies that they just talked about the part where Ava and Stefan pretended to date. Ava questions Stefan telling her everything. Gabi confirms that Stefan told her about the two times they kissed. Ava tells Gabi that she’s sorry. Gabi says she knows it was just about keeping Harris from being suspicious about the shady business at the Bistro. Gabi adds that now that she and Stefan have talked about it, she feels she can put the whole thing behind her. Gabi declares it’s so much better to know what happened than to sit around, imagining the worst.

Kristen asks Stefan what he thinks is going to happen when he tells Gabi everything. Stefan admits it’s going to be tough but feels they have made it through worse. Kristen asks if he’s sure about that. Kristen talks about Gabi having her legs broken in prison while Stefan was helping Ava live out her fantasies from her favorite erotic novel. Kristen laughs as Stefan complains about Ava telling her everything about it. Kristen remarks that if Stefan had an actual friend, maybe they would talk him out of this lunacy. Stefan tells her that she’s not helping. Kristen tells Stefan to get it over with but warns him that Hell hath no fury and she should know because she’s been there.

Alex talks to Stephanie about Theresa moving in because she had nowhere else to go. Alex laments that Theresa played him so damn hard. Stephanie says she’s upset for how Theresa treated him and her involvement with Konstantin, but admits that she cares about her and how she’s self-destructed makes her more sad than angry. Alex states that he’s just angry. Stephanie understands but wishes she could’ve done something to make this less complicated for him. Stephanie feels maybe she would’ve paid more attention if she wasn’t caught up in her own problems.

Jada agrees with Paulina that maybe she needs to just close this file and move on because it’s way too personal for her and she doesn’t know if she can trust her gut. Paulina blames herself for wanting the best person possible to take over for Rafe. Jada assures that she can do it and that she was reluctant out of respect for Rafe but she wants to be the one who brings justice. Paulina worries about how painful it is for Jada. Jada feels she’s just making it worse by dwelling on the note. Jada suggests maybe she’s looking for someone to blame because she thinks she’s the person to blame.

Chanel asks Connie who betrayed Gabi. Connie thinks back to overhearing Ava and Kristen talking about Ava sleeping with Stefan. Connie then says nevermind and that she shouldn’t have said anything, especially not to Johnny. Johnny guesses Connie thinks someone from his family betrayed Gabi, which she admits.

Ava is glad Gabi is feeling better. Gabi hopes she is too as she’s noticed that Ava feels uncomfortable around her. Gabi acknowledges that Ava pretended to date her husband and kissed him twice. Gabi says neither of them are comfortable with that but it doesn’t have to make things weird forever. Gabi declares that she would love it if they could put everything behind them and focus on having a great working relationship going forward. Gabi says with all that she’s dealt with and with Rafe in the hospital, she just wants peace and harmony.

Stefan tells Kristen that Gabi is not a woman scorned and calls her the woman that he loves with every fiber of his being. Kristen remarks that he’ll be a man scorned when she finds out what he did. Kristen argues that she’s supporting Stefan not being a total idiot. Kristen then tells Stefan to pretend that she’s Gabi while he explains everything. Stefan asks if she’s joking. Kristen says she’s trying to help him and tells him to improvise what will be the most important conversation of his entire marriage. Kristen reminds Stefan to include why she should forgive him afterwards. Stefan tries but can’t find the words so Kristen tells him he isn’t doing a great job with this and might as well enter witness protection. Stefan complains that Kristen isn’t helping and declares that he’s going to go with his gut and confess. Kristen calls it a coming disaster. Stefan mentions speaking with Ava yesterday and she told him that Connie almost walked in on them talking about it, so he asks what if Gabi had walked in. Kristen argues that Ava is the one who can’t keep her mouth shut about it. Stefan says that’s because Ava feels as guilty as he does. Stefan can’t risk Gabi finding out from Kristen, Ava, or anyone. Stefan declares that if the secret is going to come out, he needs to be the one to spill it.

Gabi tells Ava that she’s really glad they are on the same page about all this. Ava says she wouldn’t have been so eager to work with her if she thought it would be a problem. Gabi thought Kristen forced her in to it. Ava says she’s surprised Gabi thought that since Kristen isn’t her biggest fan. Gabi says that deep down, Kristen knows that she will need people like them if she wants to remain the boss. Gabi talks about them being workhorses unlike Kristen, but adds that Connie is too. Ava calls Connie a surprising new hire. Gabi knows she’s eccentric but remarks that with research, you wouldn’t believe what Connie can dig up. Ava asks where Connie is.

Johnny guesses that Connie thinks EJ betrayed Gabi since he put her in prison. Connie realizes that Johnny is EJ’s son and claims that is what she’s talking about. Connie says it was nice meeting them and walks away.

Paulina assures Jada that she is not responsible for what happened to Everett. Jada argues that she’s the one who called him in to the police station, confronted him, and accused him of stabbing Rafe which is when he said he didn’t feel well and went straight to his hotel where he wrote the suicide note, took the pills, and died. Paulina argues that he took his life because of the things he did, not because Jada was on to him. Jada wishes she believed that and that she never let him go.

Alex tells Stephanie that it’s not her job to rescue him from Theresa. Stephanie remains so sorry that he got hurt so badly. Alex thanks her and says he’s sorry about what she’s going through. Alex brings up the plates that Theresa bought for his apartment and says he may not be Victor’s son, but he’s still half Greek and brings up his favorite Greek wedding tradition. Alex decides he and Stephanie are going to smash the plates.

Paulina encourages that Jada had nothing to hold Bobby on and she was following the law, so she has no responsibility for what happened after he left. Jada admits that she knows she’s right. Paulina convinces Jada to close the case. Jada thanks her for everything. Paulina says she’s there for anything she needs. Jada thanks her as they hug. Paulina then exits the office. Jada sits back down and goes to close the folder but something catches her eye.

Alex and Stephanie finish smashing the plates and cleaning up the mess. Alex jokes that he was exorcising the ghost of Theresa and that it was worth it. Stephanie thanks him for helping her feel better. Alex reluctantly admits they have to thank Theresa but Stephanie credits Alex for the idea. Stephanie then gets a text from Jada that she needs her at the police station and wonders what that’s about.

Chanel and Johnny sit together and talk about Connie being eccentric.

Kristen tells Stefan that she doesn’t get him, going over how he came back from the dead in a miracle and they busted their asses to get Gabi out of prison, so he finally has her back but instead of clear sailing for the rest of their lives, he wants to throw it away. Stefan argues that there’s more than one solution to this problem and points out that he knows Gabi better than she does. Kristen points out that she’s a woman and tells Stefan not to say that she didn’t warn him.

Gabi and Ava agree that they are glad they cleared the air. Connie arrives with biscuits from the Bakery as Ava leaves to go meet with a new distributor. Connie asks Gabi how Rafe is. Gabi says he’s the same and thanks her for asking. Connie asks what that was all about with Ava. Gabi says they were just hashing out a few things. Connie asks like what and then says it’s not her business. Gabi says she’s glad that she asked since she may have heard rumors going around about Stefan and Ava being involved, but nothing really happened between them and they’ve agreed to put it behind them. Connie questions if Gabi is sure about that.

Stephanie joins Jada in the commissioner’s office. Jada says she’s sorry to drag her down again but she noticed that Stephanie never signed her witness statement. Stephanie didn’t think she’d be reliving all of this. Jada apologizes and calls it just a formality since obviously his death was ruled a suicide and he confessed to stabbing Rafe. Stephanie signs the statement and asks if it’s over. Jada states that Paulina convinced her to put all of this to bed, so that’s exactly what she’s going to do. Jada tells her to consider the file officially closed.

Chanel jokes with Johnny about how Body and Soul could use a character like Connie to stir things up. Paulina arrives and comments on Abe talking about Body and Soul night and day. Chanel tells Paulina about healthy muffins she made just for her, so she takes her to the Bakery. Ava approaches and greets Johnny, saying she heard he was moving to Hollywood. Johnny informs her that it turns out he’s sticking around which Ava says she’s glad to hear. Johnny mentions hearing that she left the Brady Pub for DiMera Enterprises and calls that the last place he saw her ending up. Johnny asks Ava about working with Gabi and how that’s going. Ava admits she was a bit worried at first but she thinks it’s all going to turn out just fine.

Gabi assures Connie that nothing happened between Stefan and Ava and questions why she would ask something like that. Gabi then gets a call from Stefan, who says he just wanted to hear her voice as Kristen pours a drink. Gabi tells Stefan that she was just about to call as she loved the flowers he sent and she loves him more. Stefan asks Gabi how her day is. Gabi responds that she just finished a long conversation with Ava as she told her that they talked and they are in a good place now. Gabi admits she couldn’t imagine relaunching Gabi Chic without Ava. Stefan says that’s good and he’s happy for her. Stefan tells Gabi that he loves her more than she could ever imagine, so he will let her get back to her work day. Gabi says she’ll see him later and hangs up. Kristen brings him a drink and mocks that being a practice run. Stefan then admits he couldn’t do it. Kristen asks if he thinks she’s right then which he reluctantly admits. Stefan declares that Gabi can’t find out because it would break her heart.

Gabi tells Connie that she likes her but she doesn’t appreciate her asking questions like that since of course Stefan was telling her the truth. Connie says she doesn’t want to be the one to have to tell Gabi this. Gabi asks if she’s quitting. Connie says it’s not about her but about Gabi and repeats that she doesn’t want to be the one to say this. Connie then tells Gabi that Stefan cheated on her.

Tate and Holly walk through the town square. Holly tells Tate to find somewhere to stay hidden while she goes to buy them tickets for the Smith Island ferry. After Holly walks away, Brady walks through the town square and bumps in to Tate and is shocked as he questions what the hell he is doing back in town.

Andrew massages Paul in their room at the Salem Inn, noting that he is very tense. Paul talks about how he thought his dad was in Greece, only to find out he was attacked and being held in Missouri of all places. Andrew calls it crazy and knows he’s anxious to hear from him but at least they know John is okay.

John returns home to Marlena. They embrace as Marlena says she’s so glad to see him. Marlena asks why he didn’t call as she would’ve picked him up at the airport. John says his flight landed earlier so he just wanted to get home and surprise her. Marlena asks where Jack is. John explains that Jack stayed behind with Chad because they are still looking for answers about Abigail.

In Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Chad shows Abigail’s bracelet to Jack, who questions how that can be and if she was wearing it the night she died. Chad says he can’t remember for sure even though parts of that night have stuck with him so much. Chad says he’s just drawing a blank. Jack apologizes and says he understands. Chad insists that Abigail was wearing the bracelet the night she died and that’s no other explanation. Chad declares that this proves the woman in the video is Abigail and he’s not leaving until she comes back. Jack reminds Chad that they just found John in this room 24 hours ago and when the people responsible for that come back, they will be sitting ducks. Chad points out that they haven’t come back yet and he doesn’t care if it leads them to Abigail. Jack states there’s another explanation about the bracelet, reminding Chad that Leo stole some jewelry from Abigail and sold some of it to Clyde, who gave it to Nancy, which was why he was a suspect in Abigail’s murder. Chad asks where he’s going with this. Jack points out that Clyde may have held on to the bracelet and left it there for Chad to find as proof to perpetuate a hoax and make them think that Abigail is still alive. Jack says he’s sorry but they have to be clear-headed about this. A woman appears outside the door as Jack tells Chad the the bracelet doesn’t necessarily mean that Abigail was ever there.

Marlena tells John that she has a million questions but is sure he doesn’t want a third degree. John stumbles back so Marlena grabs onto him and asks if he’s alright. John claims he’s fine but Marlena says after all he’s been through, she thinks he should get checked out. John decides she’s the doctor, so Marlena walks him out of the house.

Andrew encourages Paul that John will call as soon as he’s home and it will all be over now. Andrew assures that John will be fine and that Marlena told him not to worry. Paul responds that it’s not just about John, but Brady too, as he wishes he knew what was going on with him.

Brady questions what Tate is doing here when he’s supposed to be at lacrosse camp. Tate calls it a long story. Brady says it better be a good one. Tate suggests they get lunch but Brady says they are going to deal with this right now. Brady guesses that Tate is here to see Holly. Holly sees them from a distance and is shocked. Sophia approaches Holly and asks why she’s lurking back here. Sophia then sees Tate and suggests they go say hello but Holly says no and pulls her away. Brady tells Tate that he already knows what’s going on and tells him to just admit he came to see Holly. Tate says obviously not since he forbid him from seeing her. Brady argues that never stopped him before and questions what other reason he’d have to come home from lacrosse camp. Tate brings up his mom and reveals that Theresa had to be the one to call him from Andrew’s phone while in police custody, to tell him that she’s going to prison. Brady then apologizes. Tate responds that he’s sorry too but he thinks it’s great that they ran in to each other, so Brady can tell him why he didn’t hear it from him.

Andrew asks Paul about something going on with Brady. Paul tells him about Brady struggling with his sobriety. Andrew thought Paul said he was going to meetings. Paul says that’s what he told Marlena, but he didn’t tell her that he caught Brady with a drink in his hand. Andrew asks if he thinks he should’ve told Marlena. Paul says he doesn’t know as he doesn’t want to worry Marlena, but wonders if he’s making too much of this. Andrew notes that Paul said he saw Brady with the drink in his hand, but he didn’t drink it, so he feels there’s nothing to tell Marlena. Paul tells Andrew that he’s right and jokes that he’ll never say that again as they kiss.

Marlena brings John to the hospital. John questions if this is really necessary since he got a clean bill of health in Poplar Bluff. Marlena feels it won’t hurt to get a second opinion. John promises it will be the same and that he’s perfectly fine. Marlena says she’s not fine as she has a million questions so maybe he can answer a few. Marlena wants to know who attacked John in Greece and then she wants to know why he was held so many miles away in Missouri.

Chad and Jack hear a noise at the door so they rush out the door and catch a woman outside.

Holly drags Sophia to outside of the Brady Pub and complains that she knows damn well that she and Tate can’t be seen together. Holly argues that she has apologized and taken her shifts at the Bistro. Holly tells Sophia that she’s held up her end of the deal, so she doesn’t have to be a bitch about it. Sophia argues that she can’t blame her for being upset when she hasn’t even got paid yet, reminding her that Holly does the work but she gets the money. Holly argues that it’s only been a few weeks and she just got her first paycheck which she hasn’t deposited yet. Sophia guesses that’s understandable. Holly says that’s good because she has to get back to Tate. Sophia stops her and asks what about tips.

Tate argues to Brady that with his mom going to prison, he thought maybe he would hear from his father. Brady apologizes and says he hasn’t had the time. Tate says to give him a break since Theresa called him days ago about this. Brady says he’s been busy which Tate questions being his excuse. Tate asks what could possibly be more important than telling his son something that completely changes his life. Tate complains about how upset and sad that makes him. Brady stops him and says he’s right that there’s no excuse and he should’ve called him. Brady admits he’s been a little messed up lately. Tate asks if it’s about Theresa. Brady explains that when she came back to town, he hoped she really committed to turning her life around and becoming a better person, so he was terribly disappointed that she lost her way again. Tate guesses that Brady still loves her. Brady responds that he’ll always care about her and they will always be in each other’s life because of Tate. Tate asks if that’s the only reason. Brady wants to change the subject but Tate feels he has a right to know how Brady feels about Theresa. Brady responds that he’s been upset that she’s been so self-destructive. Tate doesn’t think he was thinking of him when he didn’t tell him. Brady admits he has no excuse, but tells him that he’s in a constant state of anxiety about Rachel. Tate asks what’s going on with Rachel. Brady complains about Kristen having full custody, so he’s deprived of seeing her on a regular basis and then he beats the crap out of himself for letting himself getting involved with two women who are so screwed up and how that could affect his kids. Brady apologizes for saying these things and sounding like it’s self pity. Brady tells Tate that he’s just overwhelmed and struggling so he’s sorry. Tate says he gets that it’s a lot and he thinks Brady is being too hard on himself. Tate calls him a great person and says a lot of people make bad decisions, joking that half the movies he watches is about people in miserable relationships. Brady feels bad sometimes for his kids because their parents are together and their moms are messed up. Tate suggests he just come back from camp for good so they can hang out and go through this tough time together as he thinks it would be best for both of them if he comes home.

Paul and Andrew lay in bed after having sex. Andrew asks if that took the edge off. Paul confirms he’s feeling less tense. Paul tells Andrew how much it means to him that he’s always there for him, even when he’s struggling with his own stuff. Paul knows Andrew is worried about Theresa. Andrew thinks he will be until the deal comes through. Paul asks if EJ agreed to give Theresa a reduced sentence for agreeing to confess to Victoria’s kidnapping. Andrew says he remains worried that EJ will renege on the deal. Andrew then gets a call from EJ and asks if he’s signed off on Theresa’s deal.

John wishes he had answers for Marlena but says he had no idea who attacked him as he was at the cemetery at Catarina’s grave when he got hit from behind. John adds that he didn’t see anything and the only person from Greece who has been after him was Konstantin and he’s dead. Marlena suggests maybe it wasn’t somebody from Greece, asking why they would bring him all the way to Poplar Bluff. John admits it crossed his mind, especially when Jack and Chad showed up looking for Abigail, that maybe it all ties back to her.

Chad and Jack bring the woman into the room to interrogate her as she questions who they are and what they are doing. She says who she is, is none of their business. Jack identifies her as the woman in the video, so she questions if they’ve been filming her. She then questions if they’ve been stealing from her as she notices the bracelet in Chad’s hand. Chad informs her that the bracelet is his wife’s and questions where she got it. She takes it back from Chad, insisting it belongs to her and she doesn’t remember where she got it because she doesn’t remember much of anything.

Brady tells Tate that he’s done it again as now Tate’s feeling sorry for him because he’s made this about himself again. Tate says he’s not feeling sorry but understanding what he’s going through and he wants to be there for him. Brady argues that he’s supposed to be the responsible dad while Tate is supposed to be the heartbroken one since he wasn’t there for him. Tate understands Brady is going through a lot. Brady feels he should’ve been more sensitive to his needs and he wants to be a better dad. Brady tells Tate that he loves him and that he means everything to him as he just wants his life to be good. Tate says he loves him too and wants the same for him. Tate adds that they are both dealing with a lot, so he thinks it would be better if they were together so they could help each other through this. Tate says they need each other after everything that’s happened this summer and repeats that he thinks it would be best for him to come home. Brady says he hears him but he doesn’t think it’s a good idea that he come home.

Holly gives Sophia her tips. Sophia remarks that she must really like Tate if she’s willing to work this hard so she doesn’t rat them out. Holly assures that she does really like Tate which is why she didn’t appreciate Sophia pulling that stunt earlier. Sophia asks if Holly and Tate have done it yet. Holly calls it none of her business but admits they haven’t, so Sophia questions what they are waiting for.

Tate questions Brady saying no and argues that he already feels better and less upset after their conversation. Brady says he feels the same but he thinks they should stick to video chats and that Tate should stay at camp. Tate complains that it isn’t the same but Brady encourages him that camp is a good experience and he sounded like he’s been having a good time. Paul and Andrew come out of the Salem Inn and greet them. Paul says he thought Tate was at camp. Brady explains that Tate was worried about Theresa, so he came home. Andrew then reveals that he spoke to EJ and he agreed to the deal, so Theresa will only have to serve six months but she is being transferred to the prison immediately. Tate asks if he can see her before she goes. Andrew says he was heading to the police station now and invites Tate to come with him which Tate accepts. Tate tells Brady they will continue their conversation later and he loves him. Brady hugs him and says he’s sorry about his mom as Tate then walks off with Andrew. Paul then informs Brady that Tate is dealing with enough, but he just got a call from Marlena that John is in the hospital.

John tells Marlena that it’s too much of a strange coincidence that all of the evidence Jack and Chad used to track down Abigail led them to him. John questions how Abigail could still be alive and recalls the way Chad described finding Abigail. John tells Marlena about the video of the woman but they couldn’t see her face, so t could’ve been anybody.

Chad questions if the woman is saying she lost her memory. She explains that she was in a bad accident a couple years ago and when she woke up, she couldn’t remember what happened or much of anything. She talks about having images of what must be memories but nothing concrete and her face was so messed up that she had to have surgeries so she doesn’t even know if this is what she looked like. Jack asks if she has any ID or anything that could lead her to who she could be but she says no. She adds that the doctors did their best to reconstruct her face, but ever since she feels like she’s been living someone else’s life as she looks in the mirror and doesn’t know who she is. Chad responds that they might and explains the situation. She questions really thinking she could be this Abigail person. Jack calls it hard to believe but says she could be his daughter and Chad’s wife. Chad notes that they lost her a couple years ago which lines up with when she lost her memory. She argues that she was in an accident and wasn’t stabbed. Chad asks how she knows if she doesn’t remember. She says there was a man at the hospital when she woke up who told her everything. Chad asks if his name was Clyde. She confirms that it was.

Sophia questions Holly having a romantic hideaway but not having sex yet and asks what’s wrong with her. Holly argues that nothing is wrong with her or Tate and they don’t get that much time since she’s working Sophia’s shifts at the Bistro. Sophia argues that if they wanted to do it, they would so she suggests maybe they don’t want to or that Tate’s gay. Sophia points out that Tate does have a gay uncle so maybe he has the “gay gene” but Holly insists that he’s not gay. Sophia mocks her having a problem with gay people. Holly says she doesn’t but she knows her boyfriend isn’t. Sophia points out that he did get them a hotel room on prom night, but maybe he just changed his mind about her. Holly argues that Tate is just going through a lot right now like his mother going to prison. Sophia guesses that would be a mood killer and jokes that he’s probably not thinking about sex unlike any other teenage boy, so she suggests that Holly will have to make the first move. Holly stops her and asks why she’s being like this, telling her that what happens between her and Tate is none of her damn business as she storms off back to the town square.

Paul and Brady go to the hospital to see John. Brady asks what happened. John explains that Marlena just thought he should get checked out again but he’s doing a lot better now seeing them. Brady says they’re just glad to have him home while Paul adds that they were really worried about him. John says that what’s important is they are all together now. John says he’s fine and wants to catch up. John asks Paul about Andrew. Paul says he’ll be glad to know John is okay. John asks about the grandkids, Rachel and Tate. Brady responds that Rachel is fine but there’s a lot to talk about with Tate.

Andrew and Tate go to the police station. Tate thanks him for everything he’s done for Theresa. Andrew knows this has been hard for him as it has been for him, knowing his sister is going through such a rough time. Andrew says Theresa has gotten in a lot of trouble but deep down, she’s a really good person and she loves Tate. Tate responds that he loves her too. Andrew goes to see if they are ready in the interrogation room. Tate then gets a call from Holly, who asks where he is. Tate responds that he’s actually at the police station. Holly asks if Brady had him arrested. Tate says no, so Holly asks if he figured out why he’s here and if they are busted. Tate explains that he told Brady that he came to see Theresa, which now is true as he’s at the police station to see her before she gets sent to prison. Andrew then comes out and tells Tate that they are ready for him, so Tate tells Holly that he has to go and hangs up as he heads in to the room.

Chad has the woman confirm Clyde’s photo. She explains that he told her that bad people caused her accident and might still be after her so he brought her here to hide out and then he disappeared and had a friend take care of her, which they confirm was Rebecca Goldman. Chad tells Jack that it could be her. She adds that she said Clyde would come back but then she disappeared and she got tired of waiting, so she went looking for them. Jack points out that is why she wasn’t there when they found John. She questions who John is. Chad says that’s not important and that what’s important is she doesn’t believe a word that Clyde Weston says. Chad explains that Clyde led him to a video of her pacing around the room and told him that she was his wife, who was still alive. She asks how they know Clyde isn’t lying to them. Jack admits they don’t and now Clyde is in solitary prison so they can’t talk to him. Chad adds that there’s another way for them to find out who she really is and asks her to come home with them.

Brady calls Tate from the hospital and asks if he made it to the airport. Tate is in the town square but claims he’s at the airport now. Brady tells him to have a good time and promises to be much more sensitive to what he’s going through. Tate responds that Brady’s going through a lot too. Brady tells him to text him when he lands as they hang up. Holly joins Tate in the town square and asks how he’s doing. Tate calls it a crazy day but says he’s alright and just glad that he got to say goodbye to his mom. Tate says it was hard as he didn’t know what to say before his mom goes to prison for six months. Holly encourages that Theresa knows he loves her. Tate thanks her and says now Brady thinks he’s on his way back to camp. They talk about it being a close call. Holly tells him about her run-in with Sophia, who was being really mean but she handled it. Holly says she’ll tell him all about it on the ferry. They walk off together and then Sophia walks in to the town square and watches them go.

Paul joins Andrew at the police station and asks where Tate is. Andrew says he just left but at least got a chance to say goodbye to his mom. Paul is sure that was very tough for him and asks if Andrew wanted to spend more time with Theresa. Andrew informs him that the prison transport just left too. Paul asks how he’s feeling. Andrew says he’s okay and asks about John. Paul says he’s okay too. Andrew says now at least he can stop worrying about him. Paul says he’d feel a lot better if he knew what happened to him.

John tells Marlena that it was good to see his sons. Marlena says she can tell he feels stronger. John asks why she looks so worried then. Marlena responds that she’s worried because she still doesn’t know how John ended up in Poplar Bluff. John responds that they’ll figure it out at some point unless Jack and Chad get to the bottom of it first.

The woman laughs off and questions Chad and Jack expecting her to just come with them to Salem. Chad responds that they have a plane waiting. She asks how she knows this isn’t some trick and that they aren’t the ones that Clyde warned her about. Jack swears that they mean no harm. Chad argues that this isn’t a joke to them as Jack lost his daughter and he lost his wife. Chad asks if she doesn’t want to know who she lost and promises they aren’t going to hurt her as they just want to help her figure out who she is. She then agrees to go, but warns Chad that if he lays a finger on her, he’s a dead man as the three of them exit.

Brady wakes up in bed with Fiona and acknowledges her as Xander’s mom, stating that this time it really happened.

Sarah goes to see Xander at the Titan office and asks if the CEO can make some time for his wife. Xander jokes that he can squeeze her in as they kiss.

Holly sits at home in the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion and gets a call from Tate but there’s no reception. Holly asks if Tate can hear her right as Maggie walks in and startles her.

Abe and Kate are at their Body and Soul office. Kate comments on the hard work while Abe notes they got a jump on casting and he feels their new Charlemagne is honing her craft as they speak.

Hattie is at the Brady Pub, reading the script for Body and Soul. Bonnie walks in and overhears Hattie reading a line about killing her husband. Bonnie then approaches Hattie, thinking she is Marlena, and questions if she is plotting to murder John. Hattie then informs Bonnie that she’s not Marlena. Bonnie panics that she means Satan possessed Marlena again but she reveals that she is Hattie which relieves Bonnie.

Xander asks how Sarah knew he was at the office. Sarah mentions running in to Justin and guesses Xander decided to stake his claim in Victor’s legacy after all. Xander asks how she feels about that. Sarah says she just wants him to be happy, but last they spoke about it, he was set to turn it down. Sarah asks what changed his mind. Xander reveals that it was actually his mom.

Fiona asks Brady what part of doing it with Xander’s mom is so upsetting. Brady points out that Xander is his uncle now and then calls Xander a total creep.

Holly tells Maggie that she didn’t hear her come in and decides to make her some tea. Maggie notes that Holly sounded like she was having an urgent conversation when she came in and asks if everything is alright. Holly claims that she was talking to Sophia about taking one of her shifts but the reception was terrible. Maggie then questions why she would call Sophia, “Tate”

Sarah asks if this means Xander and Fiona are on good terms. Xander responds that they are working on it. Xander doesn’t know if he’ll ever be totally over her abandoning him as a child and lying to him about his father, but they have found a way to move forward. Sarah says that’s good because they are going to need her as a witness as she declares that she wants to get married today.

Fiona questions Brady thinking Xander is a total creep. Fiona appreciates his honesty but questions why he has such a low opinion of Xander. Brady doesn’t think they need to get in to that and says he needs to shower and get to work. Fiona insists on knowing exactly what Xander did to him. Brady then reveals to start with that Xander shot him and his stepmother, who almost died. Brady asks if that answers her question.

Bonnie is shocked to see Hattie and says she’s been thinking about all their good times lately as they hug. Bonnie questions Hattie being married because she heard her talking about killing her husband. Hattie then explains it’s a line from a TV script. Hattie declares that she’s going to be a soap star.

Kate asks if Abe is really set on hiring Hattie to play Charlemagne. Abe thinks she’s perfect, calling her bold, brash, and unpredictable. Kate argues that Hattie can’t act. Abe points out that Hattie fooled the whole town in to thinking she was Marlena, so he has faith that she will figure this out. Abe adds that they have to focus on filling out the rest of the cast. Abe asks if Kate is sure she won’t consider playing Lorna. Kate insists that she will not, so they will just have to find someone else. Leo then walks in, wearing a wig, makeup, and a dress as he declares that sounds like his cue.

Holly apologizes to Maggie for lying to her and admits she was talking to Tate, claiming she wanted to know how he was doing at lacrosse camp. Holly knows they aren’t supposed to be talking but says she just misses Tate so much. Maggie understands and says if it were up to her, she wouldn’t have come down as hard on her but it wasn’t up to her and she lied to her parents. Maggie says they just want to keep her safe while Holly questions safe from what, their feelings for each other? Holly calls it so unfair and complains that she doesn’t know why they won’t let her and Tate be together. Maggie points out they made bad decisions in sneaking around. Holly argues that they didn’t have a choice. Maggie says the best way to change their mind is to prove they can be trusted and keep their distance, then maybe they will change their mind. Holly asks if Maggie won’t tell them about the phone call. Maggie agrees not to say anything but from now on, she wants Holly to be honest with her. Holly agrees to do so and thanks her. Maggie mentions taking Victoria home and says she will see her later as she exits the room. Holly then immediately tries calling Tate again but is shocked when Tate instead arrives in the room and tells her that she’s right there.

Fiona tells Brady that she doesn’t know where to begin apologizing for the heinous things that Xander has done to him and his family. Brady asks how that can be her fault. Fiona talks about not being there for Xander growing up so she can’t help but take responsibility for how he turned out. Brady understands that parents make mistakes. Fiona asks if he’s speaking from experience. Brady talks about his son spending half his life across the country with his mother and how he’s trying to make up for that now by being the best father he can be. Fiona asks how that is working out. Brady calls it complicated and says he just had to send him to summer camp to straighten him out and keep him out of trouble. Fiona relates to trying to make up for lost time with Xander too and calls falling out with him the biggest regret of her life. Brady says he knows better than anybody that people can change, pointing out that Xander has Sarah and is a dad, so word on the street is that he’s trying to change. Fiona thanks Brady as he then goes to shower.

Xander questions Sarah wanting to get married today. Sarah asks why not. Xander assures that he wants to marry her more than anything in the world, so Sarah says she will go home and get ready then. Sarah kisses him and says they can then start their life as husband and wife. Sarah then exits the office, leaving Xander with a smile.

Hattie shows Bonnie the script for Body and Soul, telling her that it’s top secret as Abe and Kate are really serious about it. Bonnie can’t wait to see it on TV and encourages that Hattie is going to kill it. Bonnie exclaims that Hattie will be a bonafide soap star. Hattie says they will wait until she signs her first autograph. Bonnie asks if she’s met her castmates. Hattie says they are still casting for a Lorna and a Cassandra. Bonnie identifies Cassandra as her all time favorite character. Hattie says they wanted Kayla but she said no way. Hattie says to imagine one of Salem’s finest citizens being in a soap opera.

Leo tells Abe and Kate that he’s here to audition for the role of Lorna DeLorean. Kate points out that this is for Body and Soul, not RuPaul’s Drag Race. Leo insists that he knows why he’s here, while Abe points out that Lorna is a woman and Leo is a man. Leo argues that he could play the role better than any female, comparing it to Shakespeare days. Kate asks Leo to excuse them for a moment and steps aside with Abe, suggesting maybe they should Leo read so they don’t get a gender discrimination lawsuit. Kate points out that it’s only an audition so Abe reluctantly agrees to let Leo read for the part. Leo compares it to Hamlet while Abe and Kate remain uncertain.

Fiona gets a call from Xander, who asks if she’s busy this afternoon. Fiona says that she has some free time and asks what’s going on. Xander thought she might want to witness her son remarry the love of his life. Brady then comes out of the shower and tells Fiona that the shower is all hers. Xander then questions whose voice that was.

Holly questions what Tate is doing here and how much trouble he’s going to be in. Tate says he had to come, explaining that he locked himself out of the Horton Cabin and he needs Maggie’s key to get back in.

Maggie brings Victoria home to Sarah. Maggie says she must be exhausted after a double shift and offers to stay and watch Victoria. Sarah tells her that she’d love for her to stay but there’s no time for sleep because she and Xander are getting married today.

Xander questions Fiona as to who is with her. Fiona responds that she had another delightful night with her charming new friend. Xander says he will change the subject then and asks if she can make the wedding. Fiona says of course as she wouldn’t miss it. Xander tells her to feel free to bring her new friend along as he’d love to meet him. Fiona thinks it’s a bit early in their relationship for her to be introducing him to her family. Xander says the invitation stands if she changed her mind, but he’ll see her at their apartment this afternoon. After Fiona hangs up, Brady says he really thought she was going to tell him the truth. Brady then gets a call from Xander and worries that maybe he recognized his voice.

Leo auditions for Abe and Kate, who can’t wait for it to be over.

Holly asks why Tate would lock the door while going out for a jog. Tate calls it a force of habit. Holly argues that he shouldn’t be out jogging anyways in case someone saw him and called Julie or someone on him. Tate says he just had to get out as he was going stir crazy. Tate asks if she thinks she can get Maggie’s key. Holly worries about Maggie noticing it’s gone but Tate assures he’ll just take it and get a copy made. Holly tells him that she has a better idea and says she doesn’t have work until tonight, so she’ll go with him to the Cabin so they can hang out and then she’ll bring the key back when she comes back. Tate likes the sound of that as they kiss.

Brady answers Xander’s call. Xander asks where he is right now. Brady asks why he cares. Xander tells him to lose the attitude and informs him that Brady is going to be working for him now that he’s back as CEO of Titan. Brady is surprised as Xander guesses he didn’t see the press release. Xander informs Brady that he needs him to take a meeting for him as a high end tech company wants to meet about creating AI using Titan publications. Brady asks what that has to do with Basic Black. Xander says nothing, but he and Sarah are getting married today in just a small ceremony with his mom and Maggie in attendance. Brady congratulates him. Xander says it would really put everyone at ease if there was a family member at that meeting, so he asks if he can count on Brady to handle it. Brady agrees to go and tells him to consider it his wedding present. Xander thanks him but Brady clarifies that he’s not doing it for him, but for Sarah, Maggie and anyone else who has had the misfortune of loving him as he then hangs up. Fiona tells Brady that he was worried about nothing and this will stay between them. Brady says he better get to the office to prepare for this meeting while Fiona says she has to transformer herself in to a suitable mother in law. Brady tells Fiona that last night was actually really great. Fiona agrees and suggests they do it again sometime. Brady agrees and kisses her.

Sarah tells Maggie that Victoria went right to sleep. Maggie asks what Fiona said to Xander to convince him to accept Victor’s request. Sarah thinks that Fiona helped Xander embrace the idea but admits that she’s a little surprised considering how angry Xander was with her at the wedding. Maggie is happy they are getting along since Xander will need his whole family to help navigate his new life. Sarah says that’s why she wants to make their little family official. Sarah then asks if Maggie wants to perform the wedding. Maggie says she’s been waiting for this a long time as they hug.

Bonnie and Hattie take selfies together. Bonnie talks about how Hattie used to work at the Pub and now her name is going to be in lights. Bonnie talks about movie stars beginning their careers on soaps and Hattie Adams will be right there with them.

Leo asks Abe and Kate what they thought of his audition. Abe hesitates while Kate calls it terrible and painful. Leo complains and blames the script, asking who wrote it. Abe says they are in the process of looking for a new head writer. Kate hopes that Will will take over which Leo mocks. Kate asks if he thinks insulting her grandson will encourage her to hire him. Leo claims he was just joking and argues that Will’s fee must be enormous and they couldn’t afford him. Abe admits he has a point. Kate questions Abe thinking of hiring Leo as a writer. Abe admits that Lady Whistleblower has a way with words. Kate reluctantly hands Leo an outline for a script and instructs him to return a script back to them and then they might consider hiring him on a trial deal to write for them. Leo questions it but Abe tells him to take it or leave it. Leo agrees to take it and tells them to prepare to be blown away as he then exits. Kate asks Abe what the hell they have gotten themselves in to.

Xander goes home and hugs Maggie, telling her he’s delighted to see her. Xander asks if she’s ready to marry him off to her daughter again. Maggie says she is and that she hears his mother is on the way. Xander calls it a step in the right direction. Maggie mentions hearing that Fiona convinced Xander to take his rightful place at Titan and she thinks Victor would be very pleased. Fiona then arrives and greets them, calling it such a happy day. Xander questions Fiona not bringing a plus one. Fiona says that her friend agreed it was far too early to meet their families. Fiona assumes Xander will be moving his family in to the Kiriakis Mansion after the wedding. Sarah then comes out from the bathroom and joins Xander. Xander declares that he doesn’t need a mansion as long as he has his beautiful bride because his true home is in Sarah’s heart. Maggie then instructs Xander to get changed so they can have a wedding.

Hattie comes out of the Pub and runs in to Leo. Leo stops her, assuming she is Marlena, and invites her over to watch RuPaul’s Drag Race with him. Hattie excitedly agrees so Leo says he will see her tonight in his room at the Salem Inn. Leo then heads on in to the Pub while Hattie wonders who the hell he was.

Kate comments to Abe on what their show is turning in to considering he convinced her to hire Hattie and now they are actually considering hiring Leo Stark to write for them. Abe encourages that there will never be a dull moment on screen or behind the scenes. Kate just wants to find someone normal to play Cassandra and mentions some of the best theatre actors coming by later. Bonnie then walks in and tells Kate to cancel that casting call as she declares that she was born to play Cassandra Lovegood.

Tate and Holly walk through the town square. Holly tells Tate to find somewhere to stay hidden while she goes to buy them tickets for the Smith Island ferry. After Holly walks away, Brady walks through the town square and bumps in to Tate and is shocked to see him back in town.

Maggie begins the wedding of Xander and Sarah, asking Xander about something he wanted to say before the vows. Xander admits he’s a little nervous. Fiona encourages him to take his time. Xander talks about not being worthy of Sarah but she’s here, ready and willing to give him yet another chance, which is proof he’s gotten more of God’s grace than he ever imagined. Xander acknowledges that he will mess up repeatedly but he will strive to be completely honest with her, putting their family and their love first, always. Maggie then asks if Sarah would like to say something. Sarah admits that Xander has made some huge mistakes but sometimes she thinks she’s the one who doesn’t deserve him, asking what she did to deserve a man who loves her so much that he would be willing to do anything for her. Sarah can’t promise to never get mad at him if he messes up, but vows to never take the easy way out again as she will stay and fight for their marriage, their family, and their love. Sarah declares that they are so worth it as Maggie gets emotional. Maggie then continues the ceremony. Xander and Sarah say I do and exchange rings. Maggie then pronounces them once again, husband and wife as they kiss.

Alex returns to his old apartment and runs in to Stephanie in the hallway. Alex greets her and thought she was moving out months ago. Stephanie says she was, but after Chad left, she decided to move back. Stephanie asks what Alex is doing there. Alex reveals that he’s moving back in too.

Ava goes to the Bistro to see Stefan.

At the hospital, Gabi sits at Rafe’s side while he remains in a coma. Gabi talks about trying the tender love and care routine, but he’s still not waking up and she’s started to get really frustrated. Gabi says she may have to move on to tough love and he won’t like that. Johnny then appears in the room and calls Gabi the toughest person he knows.

Paulina goes to Jada’s office at the police station. Jada mentions not realizing how late it was. Paulina says it looks like she’s gotten settled in to the commissioner position. Jada assures it’s still Rafe’s position when he comes back but she’s doing her best. Paulina asks about the new developments with Rafe’s stabbing. Jada confirms there are but there are no changes in Rafe’s condition. Paulina assumes the break in the case has something to do with the suspect she told her about. Jada reveals that he’s no longer a suspect as it’s been confirmed that Everett Lynch was the one who attacked Rafe.

Connie goes home with a bottle of wine and talks to her vision of Li. Connie talks about being in a good mood because she got rid of Rafe’s attacker, she’s got a good job, and she has her vision of Li. She talks about her first day at DiMera and feeling like she really hit it off with her co-workers. She talks about how Gabi has been impressed with her and all the valuable information she learned that she can use later. Connie talks about feeling more comfortable. Her vision of Li asks if she means comfortable with DiMera business or with killing Everett Lynch.

Paulina questions Jada about her ex-husband being the one who attacked Rafe. Jada clarifies that he was Bobby Stein when they were married, so they think Bobby is the one who attacked Rafe. Paulina doesn’t know what to say. Jada didn’t want to believe it either but says that she and Stephanie put the pieces together that Bobby might have been faking being back to Everett. Jada adds that Bobby had a very clear motive for wanting Rafe out of the picture, because he wanted her back. Jada talks about bringing Bobby in for questioning, then he said he wasn’t feeling well so she had to let him go because she didn’t have the evidence to hold him. Jada says that Stephanie took matters in to her own hands and went to his hotel room, so she followed her and when they got there, he was lying next to a bottle of pills as he had overdosed. Jada then reveals to Paulina that Bobby/Everett is dead. Paulina is shocked and says she’s so sorry, but asks if she’s sure that he’s the one who attacked Rafe. Jada informs her that there was a suicide note that confessed to everything and also reveals the bloody gloves found in his room.

Gabi tells Johnny that this is a surprise. Johnny says he’s been thinking about Rafe so he wanted to come check how he was doing and how she’s doing. Gabi thanks him and says she knows it would mean a lot to Rafe that he came to see him. Johnny asks what the doctors are saying. Gabi says not much as they just don’t know. Johnny calls that the worst and asks how Gabi is doing. Gabi says she’s hanging in the best she can. Johnny recalls when EJ was in a coma and the feeling of just expecting him to wake up at any moment. Johnny tells Gabi that he’s sorry. Gabi says she just hates seeing Rafe like this. Johnny recalls when he was a kid and how Rafe was a like a larger than life superhero. Johnny says he felt safe because Rafe was out saving the world and he couldn’t believe how lucky he was to have Rafe as his stepfather. Gabi says it’s as lucky as she is to have Rafe as a big brother. Johnny calls Rafe one of the strongest, bravest, and toughest guys out there so he’s going to get through this like he always does. Gabi talks about how Rafe fought so hard to get her out of prison. Johnny notes that Stefan did too. Gabi says she’s lucky to have Stefan too as neither of them ever gave up on her.

Ava tells Stefan that Gabi went to the hospital to visit Rafe, so she decided to take this opportunity to talk to Stefan alone.

Stephanie questions Alex leaving Titan. Alex confirms he cleared out his office this morning now that he’s not Victor’s son anymore, so he couldn’t make a case for remaining CEO. Alex says afterwards, he realized he didn’t want to go back to the Kiriakis mansion as he doesn’t feel like he belongs there anymore. Alex says things moved so fast after Victor’s death that he never got around to giving up the lease to the apartment. Alex says he hasn’t been back since he left so it’s probably hot inside. Stephanie notes that her place is probably a mess, so she invites Alex to go to the Pub and grab a beer which he accepts.

Paulina asks if Jada can explain why she still has the gloves. Jada says she was going to take them to forensics after finishing the report and guesses she’s still trying to make this real for herself. Paulina asks if Jada is alright as if Rafe’s case wasn’t personal enough already. Jada feels she should’ve put this together sooner and realized that Bobby was capable of stabbing and hurting Rafe. Paulina argues that she can’t blame herself as she had no reason to suspect Bobby was capable of this kind of violence. Jada argues that now the man she loves is lying in a hospital bed and she doesn’t know if he will wake up or if she will ever hear his voice. Paulina stops her and assures this was not her fault. Paulina relates to being with a man capable of terrible violence too. Paulina says Abe couldn’t treat her better, but Lani’s father Ray had a terrible mean streak and used to hit her and make her believe she deserved it or that she made him act that way. Paulina says she finally realized that she wasn’t the cause of it, just like Jada isn’t responsible for Bobby. Jada thanks her for saying that. Paulina calls it the truth. Jada talks about how she can’t believe she was married to someone capable of murder and insists that wasn’t the person she knew. Paulina points out that she didn’t know about his personality disorder either. Jada admits that Bobby had so many secrets but she hopes that one of those secrets won’t cost Rafe his life.

Gabi tells Johnny how she knows that Rafe loved being his stepfather. They talk about EJ and how he can hold a grudge forever. Johnny tells Gabi that he’s sorry for how long EJ took to get Gabi out of prison and calls it totally wrong of him to let her sit in there for something she didn’t do. Gabi thanks him but admits she’s a little surprised that he’s being so nice to her. Johnny questions why. Gabi points out that she did expose the truth about what EJ did to Eric and Nicole. Johnny says he’s glad she did because he was keeping Eric from his child and letting Nicole live a lie. Johnny hopes EJ will learn some kind of lesson from this as he’s definitely paid the price in basically losing everyone he loves. Gabi adds that he’s even on the outs with Stefan. Johnny wishes Gabi a happy anniversary. Gabi calls it sweet of him to remember. Johnny mentions Stefan hinting at her surprise as he wanted the day to be special. Gabi says he succeeded. Johnny is glad to hear and guesses they are making up for lost time. Johnny talks about how Stefan was so lonely and miserable while Gabi was in prison.

Ava tells Stefan that something happened at the office today. Stefan asks her to be more specific. Ava says she could be overreacting but she doesn’t know. Stefan asks if this has to do with Gabi. Ava says it’s her new assistant, Connie. Ava explains that she and Kristen were talking about what happened between her and Stefan, then Connie sort of walked in on them. Stefan questions if she heard them. Ava says that Kristen is pretty sure she didn’t but they couldn’t just ask her. Stefan questions what exactly she said. Ava believes she said that she and Stefan slept together. Stefan calls this so bad. Ava encourages that Connie is new at DiMera, so even if she heard, she probably has no idea what they were talking about. Stefan questions why she was even talking about this in the office in the first place when Connie is Gabi’s assistant. Ava remarks that Connie seems harmless…

Connie tells her vision of Li that she did not murder Everett Lynch as he left a suicide note. Her vision of Li tells her that Everett didn’t write that note and she poisoned his coffee. Connie complains that she can’t get anything past him and says she had to do it because Everett/Bobby was going to expose her for stabbing Rafe which she only did because he was going to expose her for stabbing Li. Connie argues that she and Li would’ve been together a long time ago if it wasn’t for Stefan and Gabi. Connie declares that she’s going to make them pay for what they did and she knows exactly how.

Johnny goes home and joins Chanel in their bedroom. They kiss until Chanel asks if he’s hungry. Johnny mentions eating at the hospital when he went to see Rafe. Chanel asks how he’s doing. Johnny says he still hasn’t woken up, but he saw Gabi there. Chanel says she must be really scared. Johnny admits she’s scared and sad, but powering on through and not drowning in her sorrows.

Stephanie and Alex go to the Brady Pub together. Stephanie asks Alex how it feels to no longer be rich. Alex says he’s still getting used to it but it’s not entirely about the money as it’s more the whiplash of being Victor’s son and then not being Victor’s son. Stephanie is sure Justin is happy to have him back but she knows it’s not easy having his life flipped upside down twice in a year. Alex says that’s enough about his problems and asks about her since she and Everett broke up. Alex asks if there’s any chance they might get back together. Stephanie reveals there isn’t because Everett is dead.

Paulina asks Jada if the case against Everett Lynch is closed. Jada says that Bobby confessed to everything in the “suicide note”. Paulina declares it’s over then but Jada says not exactly, since they haven’t resolved who really killed Li Shin. Paulina brings up Jada saying she had a new suspect. Jada says that Bobby never told her who, just that it wasn’t Gil Carter and that he knew who attacked Rafe. Paulina argues that he did know since he did it himself and asks if Bobby could’ve killed Li as well. Jada says she’s not ruling it out but doesn’t understand why he wouldn’t have included it in the suicide note since it would no longer matter. Jada also doesn’t know what his motive would be to kill Li Shin since they had no connection.

Connie talks to her vision of Li about knowing working with Gabi would pay off, but she didn’t know it would pay off so quickly as she overheard Ava talking to Kristen about sleeping with Stefan while Gabi was still in prison. Connie says she doesn’t have a plan yet but she almost dropped it on Gabi and Stefan today at the Bistro where they were having a romantic anniversary dinner. Connie says she decided to keep her trap shut in the end because she realized this is a bomb with a long fuse, so she wants to detonate it when it will have maximum impact.

Stefan tells Ava that Connie was at the Bistro earlier when he was with Gabi. Ava asks how she seemed and what she wanted. Stefan explains that she wanted Gabi to sign some papers that Ava wanted her to sign. Ava clarifies that she did not ask her to do that and questions what he thinks that means. Stefan asks Ava again if she thinks Connie heard her. Ava thinks if Connie came here acting normal, then they are safe. Stefan says that doesn’t make him feel any better. Stefan adds that he told Gabi that he and Ava kissed twice while playing their parts and that she didn’t love it, but she understood. Stefan asks Ava if they can make a new rule that says they don’t discuss this ever again because it’s done and he can’t risk anyone hearing something they shouldn’t, especially not Gabi, right as Gabi walks in to the Bistro. Stefan greets her and asks if everything is okay. Ava asks how Rafe is. Gabi says he’s the same and questions what Ava is doing here. Stefan claims that Ava came to have papers signed and then Ava adds that Stefan told her that Connie already came and had her sign a copy. Gabi confirms that she did and gave them back to her. Gabi remarks that Connie hasn’t been her assistant long, but she doesn’t seem like the type of person to wait around for things to happen.

Connie admits she’s anxious to reveal Stefan’s infidelity to Gabi, but she’s not in a hurry since revenge is a dish best served cold. Her vision of Li asks if she has the patience to wait. Connie says this time she does because the longer Gabi thinks that Stefan was faithful while she was in the slammer, the more delicious it’s going to be when she finds out he was tangling in the sheets with his co-worker. Connie thinks she will help Gabi and Ava get past their differences and start to get along, so when it all goes sour, it will be almost as good as what happened with Charlemagne and Cassandra on Body and Soul which she mentions being on YouTube. Connie talks about how fun it will be watching Gabi and Ava bond, knowing that she can destroy them whenever she wants. Connie decides it’s time for bed and reveals the vision of Li that she has been talking to is actually a life-sized cardboard cutout of Li.

Johnny tells Chanel that he wishes there was more he could do for Rafe and Gabi. Chanel says being a good friend is a lot but Johnny says it doesn’t feel like a lot. Chanel encourages him being a good director and a great person. Johnny says he’s inspired by an even better person in Chanel as they kiss. After they head to bed, Johnny says he’s going to stay up and watch some videos on YouTube of Body and Soul to prepare himself for working on the show. Chanel jokes about Johnny’s work being watching TV. Chanel then offers to watch with him because she loves the show, so Johnny opens up his laptop.

Alex tells Stephanie that he’s so sorry as she just lost the guy she loved while he’s complaining about losing his inheritance. Stephanie understands he didn’t know. Alex calls it an incredible tragedy. Stephanie adds that especially since he seemed to be getting his life together. Alex asks if it could’ve been an accidental overdose. Stephanie says that his alter, Bobby, left a note. Alex asks if that means Bobby was the one who took the pills. Stephanie says somehow that makes it even worse. Stephanie knows it sounds strange, but she doesn’t think any of this is what Everett wanted because of his terrible disorder. Stephanie cries that Everett was a good person that didn’t deserve any of this.

Paulina tells Jada that she can only imagine how confusing and painful this whole ordeal has been. Jada admits it’s not something she expected. Paulina admits she’s grateful there’s no longer a violent criminal on the loose. Jada says she’s trying to take comfort in that. Paulina encourages that Jada did her job under the worst of circumstances. Jada says it doesn’t feel like that, arguing that Rafe should be here but he’s not because of a man that she brought in to his life. Paulina assures that Rafe won’t see it that way. Paulina then tells Jada to take the rest of the day off and go home. Jada agrees but says she should first call Gabi as she doesn’t know about Everett yet. Jada hopes Gabi will find some comfort in knowing the man that hurt her brother is off the streets. Paulina tells Jada to hang in there as she exits her office.

Ava tells Gabi that since she already signed the papers, she can go. Ava wishes them a Happy Anniversary and tells Gabi that she will see her at the office tomorrow as she exits the Bistro. Stefan tells Gabi that those papers must have been pretty important if everyone’s tracking her down to sign them. Gabi feels it was below Ava’s pay grade and hopes it wasn’t too awkward for him when Ava showed up. Gabi then gets a call from Jada, who says she’s sorry to bother her on her anniversary but asks if she can talk for a minute. Gabi says of course and asks if it’s about Rafe. Jada informs Gabi that she got some new information that she thinks will bring her some closure.

Chanel and Johnny discuss the storylines on Body and Soul. Chanel remarks that the characters lead some crazy lives while Johnny asks if it’s any different than the Days of their Lives, pointing out that they thought EJ’s baby was dead when it turns out he was just adopted by Eric and Sloan and then it turned out to actually be Eric and Nicole’s baby, not EJ’s at all. Johnny brings up what Theresa did to Alex in letting him think he was the heir of the Kiriakis fortune. Chanel hopes that Alex has somebody to lean on.

Stephanie thanks Alex and says she definitely wasn’t expecting to cry on his shoulder tonight. Alex guesses they are even since she was there for him on the night that his wedding absolutely exploded. Alex tells Stephanie that he’s really sorry about Everett. Stephanie says she appreciates that. Stephanie says it’s getting late so they should probably head back to their apartments. Alex calls it convenient to be neighbors since they can come here and go back in one car. Alex says he’ll find the waiter to take care of the check, insisting that it’s on him so Stephanie thanks him.

Jada goes to the hospital and sits at Rafe’s side, telling him that Bobby was pretending to be Everett all along as he obviously didn’t want him around. Jada cries that she’s so sorry and that she wouldn’t believe any of this if she hadn’t lived it. Jada repeats that she’s so sorry and that she wishes she knew what he was capable of so she could’ve protected Rafe. Jada declares that at least now they have the case closed and he’s gone, so now all she wants to do is focus on Rafe coming back to them.

Gabi tells Stefan that she can’t believe this Bobby/Everett is the one who stabbed Rafe. Stefan points out that at least he’s dead though. Gabi isn’t sure that makes her feel any better since it does make Rafe any more likely to wake up. Gabi complains that getting a phone call out of the blue feels so unsatisfying as she’ll never get to see Bobby brought to justice or get to confront him face to face. Stefan points out that at least he did pay and that he’s dead, so justice was served in that respect. Stefan then declares that the person who hurt Rafe can never do it to anyone ever again.

Connie finishes her glasses of wine and takes her cardboard cutout of Li to bed.

Fiona tells Xander that she just wants to have a relationship with her son because she loves him. Fiona asks if Xander believes her and if he can find it in his heart to forgive her. Xander then sees something in the room and questions what the hell that is. Xander finds Brady’s underwear on the floor and questions who they belong to. Fiona thinks back to sending Brady to hide and escape through the window. Fiona then tells Xander that she had a dalliance last night. Xander points out that he’s the only man she knows in town. Fiona responds that was true, until she met a handsome stranger at the Bakery. Fiona claims that they bonded over beverages as their lattes got mixed up so they returned them to each other. Fiona remarks that he was a very charming gentlemen. Xander then suggests he might know him and asks what this charming gentlemen’s name is.

Brady is at Small Bar where Alex finds him and asks him how it’s going. Alex offers him company, insisting that no one likes drinking alone although he would be if he didn’t find Brady here. Alex talks about the past week knocking him on his ass from thinking he was Victor’s son and about to marry the woman he loved to having her screw him over which he guesses she also did to Brady. Alex guesses that’s also why Brady is back on the bottle and asks if he’s right.

Stephanie goes to the hospital in tears as Kayla asks what’s going on. Stephanie informs her that she came in with Everett. Kayla asks what happened and if he’s alright. Stephanie realizes she hasn’t heard and reveals that Everett is dead, shocking Kayla.

Marlena questions Steve as to what’s going on here and if John didn’t come back from Greece with him. Steve confirms that he didn’t, so Marlena asks where he is. Steve responds that he’s sorry but he’s afraid John is missing.

In Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Jack suggests Chad that they call the police but Chad says he’s not wasting another second if Abigail is behind that door. Chad then kicks the door open as he and Jack are shocked to find John tied up and unconscious inside the room!

Steve repeats to Marlena that he’s so sorry for keeping her in the dark. Marlena says she assumed Steve had found him. Steve wishes he had and talks about finding Catarina’s grave. Marlena questions Steve not knowing where John is or if he’s even alive.

Chad and Jack wake John up and untie him. Chad asks how badly he’s hurt. John responds that he’s been worse. Jack questions what he’s doing here. John says he could ask them the same question. Chad says they’re going to focus on him and tells him that Steve’s looking for him in Greece. John questions where the hell he is if he’s not in Greece. Jack reveals that he’s in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. John asks how he got there and what the hell they are doing here.

Kayla tells Stephanie that she didn’t even know Everett was brought in tonight. Stephanie informs her that’s because they took his body straight to the morgue as he died in his hotel room. Kayla asks what happened. Stephanie tells her that he overdosed on pills. Kayla questions it being a cardiac medicine and asks if it was an accidental overdose. Stephanie tells Kayla about the note that was left. Stephanie adds that he was still alive when she and Jada got there but she watched him die. Stephanie knows Kayla is used to seeing death every day, but she has never. Kayla tells her that she’s so sorry. Stephanie cries that Everett took his life because he was in so much pain, so she can’t help feeling like she let him down or didn’t do enough to save him.

Fiona doubts Xander knows the gentleman who she spent the night with and says it’s a very awkward conversation to have with her son. Fiona remarks that men have casual sex all the time with no judgment and questions if Xander is judging her. Xander says he’s not and suggests changing the subject. Fiona brings up knowing how devastated he was when she disappeared from his life but says he needs to know that it was truly not her choice and she’s dedicated years to working on her sobriety and improving her mental health. She claims that her motivation was the hope that one day she’d be able to be the mother he deserves. Fiona needs to know that he believes what she told him is the truth. Xander responds that he believes her. Fiona tells Xander that makes her so happy and asks if that means he forgives her.

Brady tells Alex that he’s not drinking and just having club soda. Alex calls that a relief and says he thought he’d have to call Maggie on him. Alex asks if he’s still going to meetings. Brady says he is but he’s not going to discuss sobriety while Alex is drinking scotch. Alex says he’s glad that Theresa didn’t drive him to drink though. Brady admits he was tempted. Alex remarks that he thought he was the chosen one but he was just another loser not worth mentioning in Victor’s will. Alex toasts to them being losers tonight but winners in general and to never seeing Theresa again.

Jack wants to call Marlena so that she can hear John’s voice and know he’s okay. Jack gives John his phone, so he calls Marlena. Marlena answers and tells Jack that it’s not a good time but John tells her it’s him which surprises her as she asks how he is. John says he’s fine. Marlena tells him that she’s with Steve, who said he found his letter at Catarina’s grave with blood on it and questions what’s happening there.

Kayla encourages that Stephanie can’t blame herself since she called an ambulance and stayed with him. Stephanie argues that she should’ve noticed sooner that Bobby was still in control and faked Everett re-emerging to get out of Bayview. Kayla asks if she thinks Bobby took the pills. Stephanie explains that she and Jada figured out that he had something to do with Rafe’s attack, so he must have felt cornered and like there was no other way out. Stephanie doesn’t see how any part of Everett could have done what Bobby did, wishing she was more compassionate or understanding. Kayla reminds her that he pushed her away and didn’t want her help. Stephanie points out that Everett came back just before he died and said he loved her but cries that she didn’t get a chance to say it back. Stephanie cries that she really loved him as Kayla hugs her.

Brady asks what Alex has planned next. Alex says he has no clue. Brady is sure Justin would welcome back to the Kiriakis mansion with open arms. Alex feels he has too many bad memories there as he moved in there like he did at the CEO office, thinking it was his birthright but it all belongs to Xander. Brady points out that Xander hasn’t made a move to take over the family business yet and he’s sure that Xander has complicated feelings about the truth coming out. Alex states that regardless, Xander is Victor’s son and the heir, so everything he thought was his belongs to him now.

Xander tells Fiona that he wish he knew the truth the whole time as he always thought he was the black sheep. Fiona apologizes and worries if asking for his forgiveness is too much. Xander acknowledges that he’s hurt people he loves and had to ask for forgiveness. Xander notes that he usually received it and he knows that Fiona has suffered as well. Xander talks about Fiona seemingly working hard on her sobriety, so he respects and appreciates that. Xander then tells Fiona that he forgives her. Fiona hugs him.

Kayla repeats to Stephanie that she’s so sorry she’s going through this. Kayla suggests Stephanie come stay with her and Steve for awhile. Stephanie says it’s okay as she just got settled in her apartment. Kayla doesn’t like the idea of her being alone. Stephanie assures she’ll be fine and that she knows where they are if she needs them, but it’s good for her to be independent again. Kayla had reservations about Stephanie moving back to where she lived with Chad and the kids with all those memories. Stephanie states that at least those were mostly good memories but Chad wasn’t ready to move on from Abigail. Stephanie feels that even back then, maybe part of Chad knew that Abigail might be alive.

Chad tries to figure out where the camera was in the room from the angle on the video while John remains on the phone with Marlena. Marlena tells John what a relief it is to hear his voice. Marlena says she will get on the next plane, but John tells her that won’t be necessary as he’s coming home. Marlena questions if that means this whole thing is over. John responds that he’s made his peace with Catarina’s death and he’ll tell her about it when he gets home. John says he loves her and can’t wait to see her as they hang up. Steve asks Marlena if John is okay then and what he’s doing with Jack’s phone. John thanks Jack but says he’s a little confused since they said Steve went to Greece to try to find him, so he questions what the hell they are doing looking for him here. Jack clarifies that they weren’t looking for him as Chad adds that he was the last person they expected to find. John asks what they were looking for then. Chad reveals they were looking for Abigail.

Brady knows Alex has had to do some inner soul searching like he has, but points out that Alex is still a Kiriakis with Justin as his dad which is a win. Alex agrees and says Justin has been great through this whole thing. Alex acknowledges how lucky he is for all that he has. Brady understands he’s sad, mad, and frustrated. Alex asks about Brady since he said a few weeks ago that he wasn’t interested in Theresa at all but he always felt he was protesting that a little too much. Brady responds that his head and heart have never been on the same page with Theresa, but he’s glad that his head took the lead on this one so he didn’t get too deep. Alex responds that he was submerged in the deep end. Brady declares that he’s laying off and done with women. Alex jokes about there being no chance he gets back with Kristen. Brady tells him to bite his tongue and calls Kristen the Devil, insisting Hell would freeze over before they got back together. Alex points out that Kristen is dedicated to getting back with him and that now she thinks she has a clear path. Brady declares that he and Theresa were toxic, but he and Kristen were radioactive. Alex says to forget he even mentioned it and then decides maybe he’ll take a break from women too. Brady wishes him luck with that. Alex offers to pay for the drinks but Brady says this one’s on him since he knows his wallet took a hit this week. Alex thanks Brady and says he’ll get him next time as Alex then exits the bar.

Fiona tells Xander how much this means to her. Xander calls it better for him too and jokes that it’s easier to focus his ire and resentment on one parent. Fiona understands he’s upset with Victor but points out that Victor tried to make amends too in his own way by giving Xander his fortune and wanting him to control Titan. Fiona then asks Xander when he will claims his birthright. Xander suggests maybe never, bringing up that Victor gave him the CEO job once and ripped it away from him while treating him like dirt for years. Fiona talks about Victor having high standards for himself and putting that on Xander. Xander guesses Victor is probably disappointed in him now but Fiona insists that Victor was more proud of him than he ever let on. Fiona asks what Xander has been doing since he left Titan. Xander responds that he’s been involved in a variety of ventures, most recently he owned a newspaper but he just gave up his interest in it in exchange for repairing a friendship with an old friend. Fiona questions Xander now considering rejecting running a multi-national corporation, reminding him that he has Sarah and their daughter to provide for. Xander points out that Sarah is a doctor and does fine by herself for the both of them and he’s more than happy to spend as much time as possible with Victoria since that opportunity was almost taken from him. Fiona questions him planning to be Mr. Mom and says that doesn’t sound very much like him. Xander tells her that he’s wanted to be a father for a very long time and now that he is, it’s changed him. Xander adds that Fiona doesn’t really know him anymore. Fiona argues that in the past, he put himself at a disadvantage and was self-destructive out of guilt for whatever reason. Fiona says she’s not saying this because she wants her son to be rich and powerful, but because she knows how it killed Victor to keep this secret and how he really wanted to make amends in the many ways that he failed him. Fiona adds that he may call himself Xander Cook, but he is Alexander Kiriakis and he deserves to take his rightful place at Victor’s heir. Fiona urges Xander to go claim what is his.

Stephanie tells Kayla that Chad’s jealousy over Everett hurt any chance they may have had, but admits that she was just as jealous of what Chad had with Abigail. Stephanie asks if Kayla thinks there’s really a chance that Abigail could be alive. Kayla responds that stranger things have happened in Salem, but she wouldn’t believe anything out of Clyde’s mouth. Stephanie tells Kayla that Jack and Chad are chasing down a lead now. They both hope they find answers but Stephanie worries that if they don’t and they never know, then Chad could be stuck in limbo forever.

Steve asks Marlena how John ended up in Missouri. Marlena explains that he was at the cemetery in Greece, leaving the note for Konstantin’s daughter, and then someone hit him from behind. Steve says that explains the blood on the note. Marlena adds that the last thing John remembered was being dragged away after being hit. Marlena is thankful that Jack and Chad found him but says it’s such an unlikely place.

Chad shows John the video that they had enhanced. Jack explains that Clyde claimed it proves Abigail is still alive but they can’t prove when the video was shot or if it’s even her. John argues that Clyde is just stringing them along but Chad says that doesn’t prove it’s not true. Jack talks about locating the building as every other room is empty. John agrees that this appears to be the room in the video. Jack asks how long John has been there. John guesses it’s been no more than a couple days. Jack and Chad asks if he’s seen anyone or anything that could lead them to Abigail.

Xander tells Fiona that he’s glad they talked as she’s given him a lot to think about. Fiona is grateful for his kindness and understanding. Xander says he would still like her to be there when he and Sarah get married, assuming she’s over her objection. Fiona says that she doesn’t have an objection, she just wanted to make sure he was in the right mind before such an enormous decision. Xander assures that he loves Sarah and she keeps him grounded so it’s in everyone’s best interest that they get married as soon as possible. Fiona asks what if he takes over the Kiriakis empire. Xander says that if he does, he can multi-task. Fiona agrees that he can do anything he sets his mind too. Xander thanks her for the vote of confidence. Xander adds that when he and Sarah do tie the knot, she’s free to bring a plus one.

Brady remains at Small Bar and texts Tate that he’s thinking of him and hoping he’s enjoying camp. Brady then finishes his drinks and exits the bar.

Alex goes to the Titan office and picks up his CEO nameplate, then looks at a framed photo of he and Theresa. Alex takes both the nameplate and the photo and dumps them in the trash.

Brady goes to Fiona’s room and they joke about him leaving his underwear before he made his third story descent. Fiona remarks that Xander never would’ve known if he didn’t find those. Brady asks what she told him. Fiona says she told him the truth that she met a handsome stranger who was quite charming.

Alex packs up a box at the Titan office. Xander arrives and tells Alex he’s sorry as he didn’t think anyone would be there. Alex says he’s just packing up his desk and will get out of his way. Xander says he knows this is awkward. Alex tells him that it’s not his fault or anyone’s but Theresa and Konstantin. Alex tells Xander this is all his now. Xander responds that he’s not sure it’s where he belongs. Xander offers to let Alex stay on in some capacity but he declines. Alex knows how much it upset Xander that Victor didn’t include him in his will. Xander says he just wanted what Alex had and now that he has it, he’s not sure what he’s going to do with it. Alex encourages that Xander had a good run there once, so he’s sure the company is in good hands and if he needs anything, he knows where to find him. Xander says he appreciates that. Alex then remembers he’s wearing Victor’s watch and says it belongs to Xander. Alex mentions that Maggie gave it to him for Christmas. Xander says he can’t accept that but Alex assures him that Maggie wanted Victor’s son to have it, so he hands him the watch. Alex tells Xander that he will see him around and exits the office.

Stephanie tells Kayla that she keeps thinking about how Everett followed her to Salem and now she wishes he hadn’t. Kayla tells her not to go down that path, encouraging that she was willing to wait for him and would do anything to help him get well. Kayla hates what she’s going through but is relieved she won’t be in limbo like that. Kayla tells Stephanie that she loves her and she’s so sorry as she hugs her.

Marlena tells Steve that she didn’t even ask John what Chad and Jack were doing there or why they were in Poplar Bluff. Steve bets they were looking for Abigail, acknowledging that Poplar Bluff is where Clyde Weston is from. Kayla then enters, so Steve tells her the good news that John is okay. Kayla asks where he is. Steve tells her that she’s not going to believe this.

John is afraid he’s been pretty out of it for the last couple of days as everything is just a blur. John states that someone brought food in for him when he was out cold but he didn’t see anyone come and go, so he has no idea how he got there or who has been holding him. Jack worries that he already had a head injury and they worked him over after that. John wants to wait for them to come back now but Jack argues that he needs medical attention. John says he doesn’t want them there when his captors come back but Chad declares that he’s not going anywhere. Chad says he’s going to sit around to find out who these people are and see if they know anything about the woman in the video.

Kayla is thankful that John is safe. Steve says he has so many questions for him. Marlena wants answers so she’s going home to wait for him. Kayla stops her and says there’s something about one of her patients that she should know. Kayla informs Marlena that it’s about Everett Lynch.

Alex returns to his old apartment and runs in to Stephanie in the hallway.

Xander takes his seat at the Titan CEO desk.

Fiona reminds Brady that they said earlier the third time in her bed is the charm, so she thinks this is their moment. Fiona and Brady then start kissing and undressing each other as they kiss onto the bed.

John tells Chad that he doesn’t like this idea, pointing out that Chad is unarmed and has no idea who he is dealing with. Jack agrees and tells Chad to think about his kids. Chad argues that their mother could be alive and close by. Jack wants to call the police but Chad doesn’t want to risk scaring them away. John declares that he’s staying then. Jack says no and that he’s taking John to get medical attention. Chad tells Jack to get John out and assures that he’s good. Chad says he has to do this. Jack tells Chad to be careful and to call him as soon as he knows anything. John hopes that Chad gets the answers he needs. Jack and John then exit together. Chad looks around the room and finds Abigail’s bracelet on the floor.

Kayla calls Steve from her office, leaving a message that she knows it’s late in Greece but she hasn’t heard from him and wants to hear his voice. Steve then appears in her office and says he’ll do her one better.

Paul meets Marlena at the Brady Pub. Paul hoped John would be with her. Marlena responds that he’s still in Greece. Paul says that’s too bad since Andrew is wrapping things up with Theresa, so he was hoping to see John before they left. Paul asks if she has any idea when John will be back. Marlena says no as she hasn’t spoken to him in awhile but says that Steve is over there so she’s sure he is looking out for him just fine. Marlena then tells Paul that she’s a little more worried about his brother, Brady.

Brady comes out from the shower in Fiona’s hotel room at the Salem Inn. Brady looks around the room and remarks that they really went to town.

Sarah is at home on the phone, being informed that Fiona has not checked out of the Salem Inn yet. Sarah thinks back to talking to Xander about inviting his mom to their wedding. Xander comes home and informs Sarah that their daughter’s kidnapper has turned herself in. Sarah is surprised that Theresa did the right thing. Xander says it’s only because he had the police breathing down her neck. Sarah asks if Andrew is still trying to work out a plea deal. Xander responds that there’s no way she will avoid prison now. Sarah wants to put it all behind them and focus on rescheduling their wedding. Xander says the sooner, the better. Sarah hopes they can do it before his mom flies back home.

Chad and Jack arrive in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Jack hopes this isn’t just a wild goose chase. Chad notes that Clyde could be lying, but if Abigail is alive, it makes sense that Clyde would stash her in his hometown so now they just have to figure out her location.

Xander questions Sarah being so eager for Fiona to attend their wedding when Fiona said that she wasn’t sure he should even be getting married right now. Sarah says that’s just because she thinks of him processing everything, not because of her. Xander calls Sarah the best thing to ever happen to him. Sarah thinks Fiona is just worried about him, noting that it is a lot for Xander to find out he is Victor’s son and come in to all that money. Sarah adds that Fiona flew all this way for a wedding so it’d be nice to do it while she’s still in town. Xander questions if she is still in town. Sarah confirms that she found out Fiona hasn’t checked out of the Salem Inn which means there’s still time for Xander to go work things out with her. Xander questions her assuming he would want to. Sarah calls it the right thing to do and points out that Fiona is Victoria’s grandmother so she thinks it would be good for them to have a relationship and mend fences. Xander reluctantly agrees while Sarah insists that he won’t regret it.

Fiona tells Brady that when she invited him over for a drink, she wasn’t expecting a 24 hour bender. Brady says he wasn’t either. Fiona talks about Brady really knocking them back and she wasn’t sure that she could even keep up with him. Brady blames it on the interaction he had with Theresa. Brady says he thought they were on the path to reconciling but yesterday was the nail in that coffin. Brady assures Fiona that he doesn’t have a single regret as he needed to drown his sorrows and calls her a hell of a drinking partner. Fiona reminds Brady that no one can know about this. Brady agrees not to tell if she doesn’t.

Marlena tells Paul that Brady isn’t answering his phone or responding to texts. Marlena explains that they were trying to reach Brady to invite him to Eric’s going away party, but he never came home last night and it’s not the only time that’s happened recently. Marlena wonders if Brady has been keeping secrets.

Kayla is happy to see Steve but questions him not telling her that he was on his way back. Steve calls it last minute and says he came right to her after he landed. Kayla asks how Greece was, if he found John and if John came back with him. Steve reveals that John did not come back with him. Kayla questions why John stayed in Greece. Steve explains that when he got there, he tried reaching out to John several times but he wasn’t responding so he went to the cemetery where Konstantin’s daughter was buried. Steve notes that he found fresh flowers on the grave with a note from John that said he felt tremendous guilt for taking her life and how he didn’t think he’d ever be able to forgive himself. Kayla argues that John was brainwashed so none of this was his fault. Steve says that John still doesn’t see it that way. Kayla asks if he was able to talk to John about it. Steve then reveals that he still doesn’t know where John is.

Paul asks Marlena if it’s possible that Brady is seeing someone new and doesn’t want to talk about it. Marlena insists that Brady knows she would be happy if he found someone because she worries about him being lonely. Marlena mentions that Brady texted about sleeping at the office so Paul encourages that he must just be very busy creating a new line at Basic Black. Marlena doesn’t think that’s it. Paul asks if she doesn’t think Brady is telling the truth about being in the office. Marlena responds that Brady has been in a funk lately about Theresa. Marlena notes that was a very toxic relationship and she thinks after what happened, he could be in trouble.

Fiona notes that Brady mentioned before that he’s supposed to be sober. Brady admits he hadn’t had a drink in a couple of years and all this stuff with his ex-wife got in his head. Brady says he’d usually go to a meeting but he wasn’t in the mood. Fiona feels meetings are tedious and make her want to drink more. Brady sometimes finds the meetings useful and helpful but says you have to go with the right attitude. Fiona jokes that they didn’t do him much good. Brady admits that relapsing was not in his plans but repeats that he has no regrets. Fiona points out that she’s doing just fine and says some may say she’s a functioning alcoholic but the key word is functioning. Brady questions the secrecy. Fiona explains that she has to pretend to be completely sober or she won’t have any chance of getting back in Xander’s good graces.

Xander reminds Sarah that his mom lied to him for his entire life so he might not be ready to forgive her just because she showed up in Salem for their wedding that didn’t happen. Sarah understands that Fiona has to earn back his trust but she thinks she’s willing to try, so she hopes that he gives her that chance. Sarah insists that Fiona is trying since she is sober and committed to that. Xander questions Sarah going to bat for her. Sarah talks about relating to being a mother now and wanting a relationship with her child. Xander assures that Sarah is ten times the mother that Fiona will ever be. Xander then agrees to go see Fiona and says maybe she’ll surprise him.

Jack and Chad go looking for the billboard they saw in the video and try to match it up to find the location. Chad talks about trying to find which building has the same vantage point which Jack notes may be easier said than done. They decide on a direction and go to get started.

Maggie brings Sarah baby clothes for Victoria. Sarah mentions just putting her down for a nap. Maggie offers to come back another time but Sarah asks her to stay and says she’ll make them some tea so they can catch up. Sarah assumes that Maggie heard about Theresa turning herself in. Maggie reveals that she’s actually the one who drove Theresa to the police station since she asked her to because she was afraid that she would back out if someone didn’t go with her. Maggie admits part of her respects the fact that Theresa is finally taking responsibility for her actions. Maggie talks about still pulling for Theresa. Sarah reminds Maggie that Theresa kidnapped her grandchild. Maggie assures she’s still very angry with her but she can’t help but feel for her since she seemed truly remorseful. Sarah tells her not to expect that kind of grace from Xander because he’s so angry that he wants Theresa to fry and she can’t blame him since Theresa completely screwed with his life. Maggie understands and asks where Xander is. Sarah reveals that at her urging, he went to go see his mom.

Brady tells Fiona that he should change and get out of her hair. Fiona points out that it’s getting close to dinner time and suggests he stay to have room service again and he couldn’t even stay the night. Brady thanks her for the offer but doesn’t think that’s a good idea. Brady asks her again if nothing happened between them last night. Fiona confirms that for a second time but jokes that perhaps the third time is the charm. Xander then knocks on the door, calling out that he knows his mom is in there and asks her to open up, leaving Fiona and Brady worried inside.

Paul tells Marlena that she’s right that Brady was pretty upset about Theresa and Alex getting married as he left the wedding as soon as they tied the knot. Marlena asks if he knows where he went. Paul says he apparently went to a meeting so Marlena worries that means Brady was tempted to drink. Marlena is glad that Brady went to a meeting but wishes he contacted her. Paul asks if he’s done that in the past. Marlena confirms he has since they are very close and Brady knows she will be there for him. Marlena wonders if there’s been a red flag and asks if Paul noticed any questionable behavior. Paul then thinks back to when he first came back to town and walked in on Brady with a bottle of alcohol.

Kayla questions Steve saying that John is missing. Steve says he sure couldn’t find him but he did find out where he stayed. Steve notes that the hotel manager says John never checked out but he hadn’t been back to his room in days. Steve then reveals that he took John’s note and there was blood on it which the ISA confirmed is a match for John’s. Kayla says they all know how despondent he has been over Catarina’s death. Steve doesn’t think John would harm himself but notes there were no reports of unidentified bodies. Kayla wonders what could’ve happened to John. Steve admits he’s leaning towards foul play. Kayla asks what Marlena said but Steve admits he hasn’t told her yet.

Marlena tells Paul that she asked him a question and asks if he noticed anything unusual about Brady’s behavior. Paul thinks back to Brady telling him he wasn’t going to drink and that he just had a weak moment. Paul responds that he knows Brady has been going through a lot but to the best of his knowledge, he hasn’t been drinking which Marlena calls a relief. Marlena says that with John out of town, she worries about Brady and Paul so much. Paul gets her concern and declares that he will track down Brady to make sure he’s okay. Paul bets he can still catch him at work. Marlena asks him to let her know if he learns anything at all. Paul agrees to do so and hugs her. Marlena thanks Paul and says they miss him so much. Marlena adds that she will let him know immediately if she hears from John as Paul then exits the Pub.

Fiona worries to Brady that it will lead to too many questions. Brady says he’s in no mood to deal with Xander either and suggests they stay quiet and he’ll go away. Xander continues knocking, pointing out that he knows she’s in there because the front desk told him that she hasn’t left her room all day. Fiona then calls out to Xander that she just has to put on a robe as she instructs Brady to hide in the bathroom and escape through the window even though Brady points out they are on the third floor. Fiona then answers the door and claims she was just trying to clean up a bit as she invites him in. Fiona calls it a lovely surprise while Xander says it can’t be totally unexpected since she did ask Sarah to talk to him on her behalf. Fiona confirms that she thought he might be more receptive to her story if it came from Sarah. Xander says that Sarah told him all about her being in a mental institution and how she never intended to abandon him, but he’s not sure that he believes it.

Jack and Chad return from the building they checked out but it wasn’t a match. Jack points out that none of the buildings have windows that match the one in the video and says it doesn’t make any sense. Chad then finds there’s another billboard for the skating place so they must be in the wrong place. Jack decides they will start looking again.

Maggie tells Sarah that it sounds like Fiona has been through a lot. Sarah says hearing her story changed her perception of what happened between her and Xander. Maggie says she can certainly relate to the grief Fiona felt over losing her husband and her battle with addiction. Sarah feels like Fiona has done a lot of work on herself, so it would be a shame if Xander didn’t give her another chance.

Xander tells Fiona that it’s just so very convenient that all the years of her being an absent mother and none of it was her fault. Fiona clarifies that she didn’t say it was her fault and she’s not trying to absolve herself of her responsibility. Fiona admits that she handled things terribly when Titus died as she turned her back on her only child and found comfort in the bottom of a bottle. Fiona insists that she’s cleaned up her act. Xander questions if that means she’s not drinking anymore. Fiona claims she’s committed to her sobriety and going to meetings. Fiona pretends she’s in a 12 step program, saying she wants to be sober so that Xander can be proud of her and they can finally have a relationship.

Brady staggers through the town square after escaping from Fiona’s room. Paul finds him and says he was just about to come looking for him. Paul questions Brady limping and having a leaf in his hair. Brady claims he just twisted his ankle and fell in a bush, then asks why Paul was looking for him. Paul explains that he was with Marlena and she was a little concerned about him not coming home last night. Brady claims he was at the office, swamped with work all night. Paul adds that he’s a little worried about him too. Brady claims he’s fine and asks why he wouldn’t be. Paul says he knows that Brady has been struggling because of Theresa and that he attempted to drink before he showed up. Brady calls that a mistake. Paul asks Brady to be honest with him as he questions if he needs to worry about him.

Kayla tells Steve that if something happened to John, he has to tell Marlena. Steve says he just kept holding off, hoping that he could bring her some good news. Steve adds that the ISA is still looking into it but he figured he should come home and update Marlena in person. Kayla knows Marlena will be horrified by the news. Steve states that Marlena was counting on him to look after John and he let them both down. Kayla encourages that he did everything he could. Steve insists he’s not giving up and that he will be going back to Greece, but first he has to break the news to Marlena. Kayla offers to call Marlena to get her to come over right away.

Chad and Jack arrive at a building. Jack insists that it has to be the right building since it matches everything in the video. Chad points out that this one is locked while all the other buildings were unlocked. Chad knocks on the door, asking if anyone is there.

Maggie asks Sarah if she and Xander have set another wedding date. Sarah says not yet but they both agree the sooner, the better. Maggie jokes that it’s safe to say Xander is done with double weddings. Sarah says they both are and they just want it to be small and intimate, so it will probably just be Maggie, Victoria, and hopefully Fiona. Maggie wonders what’s going on over there. Sarah admits she’s dying to know but Xander isn’t back yet, so she thinks it’s safe to assume that he didn’t immediately storm out which has to be a good sign.

Fiona knows Xander has every reason to doubt what she’s told him. Xander points out that she did lie to him about his paternity for his entire life and only came forward with the truth when it became clear that he would come in to Victor’s fortune. Fiona insists that she’s not after his money and just wants to have a relationship with her son because she loves him. Fiona asks if Xander believes her and if he can find it in his heart to forgive her. Xander then sees something in the room and questions what the hell that is.

Brady tells Paul there’s no reason to worry about him and claims he’s fine though he appreciates his concern. Paul repeats that he can’t overlook the fact that he found him with a drink in his hand. Brady asks if he told Marlena. Paul says he wouldn’t betray his trust but maybe he should have. Brady claims he went to a meeting, insisting that he’s together, stronger, and totally fine. Brady says he has to go put ice on his ankle and walks away.

Marlena goes to the hospital and gets a call from Paul, who lets her know that he talked to Brady. Marlena notes that was fast. Paul says he just ran in to him in the town square on his way to Basic Black and that Brady said he’s fine and just busy with work which is why he slept in the office, so there’s nothing to worry about. Marlena is relieved and thanks him for checking as they hang up.

Steve remains in Kayla’s office and thinks back to Marlena telling Steve that John heard Konstantin’s voice in his head, telling him to shoot Steve and admitted he wasn’t sure what to do and how he vowed to bring John back home. Marlena then arrives, looking for Kayla but is surprised to find Steve as she didn’t know he was back, noting that Kayla didn’t mention that when she asked her to come. Marlena asks where Kayla is. Steve informs her that she’s with a patient. Marlena states that if Steve is back, that must mean John is back too, so she asks where he is. Steve tells Marlena to sit down because they need to talk.

Jack suggests Chad that they call the police but Chad says he’s not wasting another second if Abigail is behind that door. Chad then kicks the door open and is shocked by what they find inside.

Stephanie and Jada enter Bobby’s room at the Salem Inn are shocked to find Bobby unconscious on the bed. They try to wake him up. Jada checks his pulse and confirms he’s still breathing but his pulse is very weak. Jada questions what Bobby did. Jada then finds the Digoxin pills and asks how many he took. Bobby mutters that he didn’t take it. Jada urges him to think because if he took any of it, it could explain what’s happening right now. Bobby then responds that he’s not Bobby, he’s Everett.

At the DiMera Enterprises office, Connie declares that she has now washed her hands of the Bobby problem and can now focus on making Gabi and Stefan pay for what they did to Li. Connie then remarks to herself that the perfect ammunition just fell in to her lap and says to wait until Gabi hears that her husband slept with Ava Vitali. Ava then returns to the office.

Gabi finishes a call with the hospital and thanks them for everything they are doing for Rafe. Gabi hangs up and tells Stefan that there’s no change. Gabi knows it’s crazy, but part of her wants to go to Rafe’s room and scream for him to wake up. Stefan says if he thought that would bring him back, he would be doing that just so Rafe would wake up and arrest him for disturbing the peace. Gabi tells Stefan that she’s so sorry as she knows it’s their anniversary and he had this special day planned, so she should be focused on them. Stefan understands that her brother is in a coma so she’s allowed to focus on him. Gabi thanks Stefan and talks about sitting with Rafe while he seems so peaceful. Gabi wonders if he knows they are there. Stefan thinks he does. Gabi just wants Rafe to know that she loves and misses him and how important he is to her. Stefan believes Rafe knows all of those things and calls that his motivation to get back to them. Gabi knows Jada is on the case and she’s the best, but she has her hands full running the department and she is probably working on Abigail’s case too.

At the Spectator office, Jack reveals to Chad that they were able to enhance the video by 70%. Chad asks if it’s Abigail. Jack responds that he doesn’t know as he decided to wait for Chad. Chad prays for it to be Abigail. They plug in the flash drive to watch the video.

Gabi knows Stefan told her not to apologize but she still feels guilty for getting them off track from the reason they are here today. They then sit together at a table in the Bistro. Stefan pours them glasses of champagne and toasts to Rafe making a very swift and complete recovery. Gabi toasts to Abigail being found alive. Stefan then toasts to them as well. Gabi points out that they are already out of champagne. Stefan says he will be making them mojitos, pointing out that working at the Bistro is his job. Gabi brings up that he only has the job because Clyde was making him use it as a front, but she knows all the drug running was to keep her safe. Stefan calls it a small price to pay. Gabi then remarks that it wasn’t that small considering he had to pretend to be hooking up with Ava and questions whose idea that was anyway.

Connie thought Ava was going to a meeting. Ava says that Kristen said it could be in e-mail so she came back. Ava questions who Connie was talking to since she heard her say her name. Connie claims that she was just trying to memorize everyone’s name since she is new. Connie asks about Ava being new here too and what job she had before this. Connie then remembers that Ava used to work with Gabi’s husband.

Jada goes to call an ambulance while Stephanie stays with Everett and asks if it’s really him. Everett asks what happened and where he is. Stephanie explains that he’s in his room at the Salem Inn and they are calling for help as he might have accidentally overdosed. Stephanie asks what he last remembers. Everett says he was here when Bobby took over and that he tried so hard to get back to her. Stephanie exclaims that he’s here now and she’s with him, so he’s going to be okay as she tells him to hang on. Stephanie urges him to stay with her as the ambulance is on it’s way. Everett cries that he loves Stephanie and never stopped as he then passes out. Jada returns to them and checks his pulse, confirming that Everett has passed away. Jada then tells Stephanie that she’s so sorry. Stephanie is in shock and breaks down crying as Jada says they got there too late. Stephanie cries that it was Everett and she knows he came back. Stephanie asks what caused this and what’s in those pills. Jada points out that he said he didn’t take any. Stephanie wonders if Everett meant Bobby took them. Jada says it’s possible since at the station, he said he suddenly wasn’t feeling well. Jada doesn’t know what to think since there’s no sign of forced entry. Stephanie argues that something made Everett emerge. Jada notes that he was definitely Bobby at the police station. Jada guesses they have to start with the basics. Jada begins putting on her gloves and then goes to Everett’s laptop and says this could explain it as she finds what looks like a suicide note, unaware that it was typed by Connie.

Ava tells Connie that she worked with Stefan for awhile and guesses Connie did her research on her. Connie says she just knows random facts and asks if she knows when Gabi will be back. Ava informs her that Gabi is not coming back as she is taking a personal day to celebrate her wedding anniversary at the Bistro. Connie points out that’s where Ava used to work with Stefan. Connie says that’s good for them as they seem like a great couple. Connie guesses there’s no point in sticking around since Gabi is not coming back. Connie tells Ava that she’s really looking forward to working together and says she loves all the girl power in the office. Connie tells Ava that she will see her later and exits the office.

Stefan says that Gabi did all that to get back on track and now she just wants to talk about he and Ava fake dating. Gabi says it sort of is about them because if he fake dated Ava, that means he fake cheated on her while she was in prison. Stefan reminds her about the mojitos but Gabi presses on. Stefan says he only told her in the interest in full disclosure but he never would’ve told her if he thought it would upset her. Gabi states that they are honest with each other about these things and she just wants him to reassure her that it wasn’t his idea. Stefan assures her that he wasn’t even there when Ava pitched the idea to Harris to get him to back off. Gabi comments that then Stefan and Ava got down to dealing drugs and blames Clyde. Stefan says that Harris totally bought it but then Chad came in and questioned he and Ava working together and was convinced they were in the drug trade. Stefan flashes back to Chad confronting he and Ava at the DiMera Mansion. Stefan tells Gabi that Chad was like a dog with a bone, so Ava had to resurrect the lie to throw his scent off. Stefan guesses they needed to lean in to it and sell it a little bit, admitting to Gabi that Ava kissed him. Gabi is shocked while Stefan insists that it was only to keep up their cover and get Chad to shut up. Gabi supposes she understands that. Gabi says they can drop it but then questions if it was just one kiss. Gabi decides she doesn’t want the details but then stops and suggests they put everything out in the open. Gabi asks again if all that happened between he and Ava was just one kiss. Stefan admits that it wasn’t all.

Jack and Chad watch the video repeatedly but Chad complains that the woman in the video never turns to face the camera. Jack argues that it doesn’t mean it’s a dead end since it’s not just the woman in the video but maybe the room it’s taken in could give them a clue as to where it is. They watch the video again to examine the room. Jack points out that the walls are bare and the window doesn’t look open. Chad then spots something and questions what it is.

Stephanie tells Jada that Everett would not do this as he had hopes and dreams and wanted to live. Jada says it might have been a different story with Bobby. Jada reads the letter that says he should’ve known Jada would figure it all out, so he might as well confess to faking being Everett to get out of Bayview, faking being integrated to get close to her, and then stabbing Rafe to get him out of the way. Stephanie points out that Bobby said he didn’t stab Rafe when Jada saw him earlier. Jada continues reading that “Bobby” wrote he was going to go down for Rafe’s stabbing anyway and that Jada would never take him back so he had nothing left to live for, adding that he left the gloves he wore when attacking Rafe in the dresser drawer with Rafe’s blood on them. Jada goes to the drawer and retrieves the planted gloves, leaving her and Stephanie shocked in tears.

Melinda goes to the DiMera Enterprises office to see Ava. Ava mocks her so Melinda asks if she’s done something to offend her. Ava says not today, but when she was district attorney. Melinda points out that they are on the same side now. Melinda gets that they have issues with each other but says she will never forget what Ava’s son did to help her daughter Haley, so she’s grateful to him. Melinda thinks if Haley was still here, she’d want Ava to know that too. Ava says she is very sorry for her loss. Melinda calls Haley a wonderful young woman and says it was incredibly painful when she tragically died at Kristen’s hands. Melinda adds that if she can put aside that pain for the time she has to be around Kristen at work, then maybe there is hope for them. Ava agrees and asks if there’s something she can do for her. Melinda says she was just reviewing the newest employee contracts and brings up Gabi’s latest hire. Melinda adds that after pulling Connie’s file, she encountered something strange..

Gabi asks Stefan if things escalated after Ava kissed him. Stefan says there was another time where they kissed. Gabi questions if they were practicing. Stefan insists this isn’t fun for him. Stefan explains that Harris came back sniffing around and asking a lot of questions after Ava already told him they were a thing, but they needed to send the point home to cover for all the time they were spending together, so he kissed her. Stefan assures that it was only to keep up their cover. Gabi doesn’t want to overreact but talks about being in prison while Stefan was out macking on Ava. Stefan wishes she wouldn’t put it like that. Gabi supposes he didn’t have a choice. Stefan states that everything conspired to put him in that situation. Stefan declares that was it, two kisses for Chad and Harris and that was it. Connie then arrives and says she’s sorry to interrupt.

Chad points out to Jack that they can see through the window in the video. Jack sees it’s part of a billboard in the distance. Chad wonders if it’s a logo. Jack zooms in and they wonder if it’s skates or rollerblades. Chad wonders if it could be an ad for a skating rink. They are able to make out the numbers 573. Chad believes it’s an area code.

Stefan tells Connie that they are closed for a private event. Gabi reminds Stefan that she met Connie at EJ’s press conference. Connie says it’s nice to see him again after getting to know his wife. Gabi reveals that she hired her at Gabi Chic and Connie is her new assistant. Connie calls the Bistro so nice and says she wishes she would’ve come with her old boyfriend. Gabi asks why she’s here. Connie says that a birdie told her that they were celebrating their anniversary so maybe it’s not the best time. Gabi says it’s okay and asks why she’s here. Connie responds that it’s about Ava Vitali.

Melinda tells Ava that she met Connie a few times. Ava asks about her finding something strange and then questions where she met her. Melinda informs Ava that it was at Small Bar where Connie was on a blind date with Li Shin which shocks Ava, calling it a strange match. Melinda notes that she was also on a blind date with Alex Kiriakis. Melinda says she recognized the address on Connie’s forms and that she’s now living in Li’s old apartment which she finds weird.

Stephanie tells Jada that none of this feels real. Jada wishes it wasn’t and bags the gloves, saying she will take it down to forensics. Stephanie reminds Jada that they didn’t finish reading the “suicide note”, so they go back to it. Jada reads that it finished with the only thing left to say is that I’m sorry to Jada, Rafe, Stephanie, and especially to Everett and maybe they can both be at peace now. The medics place Everett in a bodybag. Stephanie breaks down crying as Jada hugs her. The medics then stretcher Everett’s body out of the room. Jada tells Stephanie that she’s taken all the evidence she needs. Jada then finds Everett’s phone on the floor next to the bed and sees that he had dialed 911 but didn’t call. Jada says this doesn’t make sense and questions why Bobby would try to kill himself but try to call for help.

Ava tells Melinda that maybe Connie didn’t know Li lived there since Wendy’s name was on the apartment. Melinda mentions running in to Connie another time on Valentine’s Day and she blew up at her, blaming her for Li’s death, and then a third time, Connie sought her out to apologize, saying she realized that Li’s death wasn’t her fault. Ava calls this a lot of fallout from one blind date. Ava guesses that Connie is eccentric to put it mildly. Ava suggests maybe she was smitten with Li and couldn’t have stopped thinking about what life might have been or that she’s lonely and living in Li’s apartment brings her some kind of creepy comfort. Melinda calls it very creepy and mentions her strange interactions with her. Ava remarks that it’s not like Connie killed Li.

Gabi asks Connie if Ava sent her. Connie says it was her idea to come when she heard they were both here as Ava needed some documents signed and she was going to messenger them over, but she likes to do things in person. Connie remarks that she assumes Stefan knows Ava. Gabi comments that he knows Ava real well. Stefan says that they used to be partners at the Bistro. Connie says she heard about that. Gabi signs the documents. Connie then tells them to not give business another thought since they were separated for a long time and deserve to spend their anniversary in peace. Connie then exits the Bistro. Stefan calls her interesting while Gabi says she’s certainly enthusiastic and admits that she’s already made her life that much easier, even if she could do without interruptions like that. Stefan guesses she just wants to impress her and is glad that Gabi has someone she can depend on.

Chad looks up the area code and finds out it’s in Missouri, recognizing Poplar Bluff which was Clyde Weston’s hometown. Jack says that Clyde could be holding Abigail there and asks how long it’s been since he lived there. Chad is sure it’s been quite awhile but he’s sure he still has contacts there. They decide there’s only one way to find out if Abigail is there, so they exit together.

Stefan and Gabi have mojitos at the Bistro. Stefan is glad their anniversary is back on track. Gabi says she knows Stefan is just counting the hours until he takes her to bed which Stefan admits to. Gabi promises to make it her mission that Stefan forgets about his kisses with Ava. Stefan asks if that means they are okay. Gabi says yes and admits she overreacted. Gabi apologizes for what she said to Connie about how well he knows Ava. Stefan says it’s fine. Gabi just hates the idea of someone else messing around with her husband, but since it was just two kisses, she supposes she can live with it. Gabi and Stefan then kiss and hug.

Melinda decides maybe Ava has a point since Connie didn’t kill Li, Gil Carter did. Ava points out that she killed Gil which Melinda calls completely justifiable. Ava jokes about two people being killed in the same apartment. Melinda says maybe that’s why Connie took the place.

Connie walks through the town square, saying it would’ve been fun to blow Stefan and Gabi out of the water right there but maybe it’s more fun to keep the information to herself so she can make sure it’s perfect when she drops the bomb. The medics then come by with Everett/Bobby’s body being stretchered away, so Connie says bye bye to Bobby.

Jada and Stephanie wonder if Bobby changed his mind after taking the pills or if he was Everett by that point and tried calling for help, but was too weak to press send. Stephanie cries that it’s so heartbreaking as they hug.

At the DiMera Enterprises office, Gabi goes over ideas for Gabi Chic with Ava. Ava tells her it all sounds great but Gabi notes her being distracted and questions why Ava seems anxious. Ava responds that it’s her first project at DiMera and she wants it to go well for both of them. Gabi says that’s the goal. Ava asks Gabi how Rafe is doing. Gabi responds that he’s unfortunately the same. Ava says she’s sorry to hear that and she hopes he makes a full recovery and that they catch whoever attacked him.

In the interrogation room, Bobby as “Everett” tells Jada that he’s not a murderer. Jada argues that he was freed from Bayview the same day that Rafe got stabbed and then Stephanie went to visit him as he was getting out of the shower. Jada questions if he was washing off evidence from a bloody crime scene. He says no, so Jada asks why he looks so guilty. He laughs it off and repeats that he’s not Bobby. Jada calls him her best suspect in two stabbing attacks, so her next move will be to get on the phone with some experts to come evaluate him as she’s pretty sure they will tell him that he’s still Bobby and not Everett, so he better come back with some better responses. He then admits that he’s Bobby but insists that he did not stab Li or Rafe, but he can tell her who did, so Jada asks who it was.

Connie comments to herself on planting gloves to stay out of prison but Leo knocks on the door, saying he needs to talk to Everett and asks if he’s in there. Connie questions what the hell he wants. Leo says that he just wants to talk to him about Stephanie.

Stephanie leaves the Brady Pub and calls Jada, leaving her a message about her run-in with Leo and how Leo suspected that Bobby isn’t Everett. Stephanie mentions that she hopes she convinced Leo to keep his mouth shut because the last thing they need is for him to publish that in the Spectator.

Jack goes to the Spectator office to see Chad. Chad says he just heard Xander gave Jack his half of the paper back and calls it the best news he heard all day. Chad tells Jack that he looks forward to working with him again and asks if he’s here to talk shop. Jack responds that he’s actually here to talk about Abigail. Jack mentions just coming from the lab where they are moving painfully slow in enhancing the video of the woman that Clyde claims is Abigail. Chad asks if he had a breakthrough .Jack says not exactly, but he recruited the help of an old friend who has introduced some innovative AI techniques in to the mix. Jack says if that doesn’t work, they won’t be able to help them anymore. Jack wanted Chad to know that today they are going to find out if the video is a dead end or not. Jack declares that if it is a dead end, he will go back to Boston to tell Jennifer that they are back to square one, as if she wasn’t upset enough that they dug up Abigail’s grave. Chad points out that if it doesn’t pan out, they have nothing since Abigail’s grave is empty and Clyde’s in solitary so they can’t ask him any questions. Chad declares that if it isn’t true, he can’t rest until Abigail is back with them, resting in peace. Jack decides he will go back to see if he can speed things up but Chad stops him.

Leo continues calling out to Everett from behind the door and then says if he’s not there, he’ll just see him at the office. Connie then accidentally knocks something over in the room, causing a sound that Leo hears so he continues to call out for Everett. Leo then decides Everett must not want to talk to him and walks away. Connie sighs in relief, saying that was close.

Jada asks Bobby who stabbed Rafe if it wasn’t him. Bobby hesitates and says to give him a second. Bobby then suddenly says he doesn’t feel that well.

Gabi tells Ava that she’s counting on Jada to find the bastard that did this to Rafe. Gabi then gets a call from Stefan, who says he needs to see her at the Bistro. Gabi says that she and Ava are in the middle of the Gabi Chic launch campaign but Stefan says it can’t wait. Gabi asks him what’s going on. Stefan would rather discuss it in person, so Gabi says she’s on her way and hangs up. Ava asks if everything is okay. Gabi says that Stefan apparently has something to tell her in person and wants her to come to the Bistro. Ava hopes it’s nothing bad. Gabi guesses she will find out and apologizes to Ava. Ava tells Gabi not to worry about it and to go ahead. Gabi then exits the office. Ava wonders why she suddenly doesn’t feel so well.

Jada asks Bobby how gullible he thinks she is and tells him that this isn’t second grade where he can fake being sick. Bobby responds that he’s not faking it and repeats that he doesn’t feel that well as his head is spinning. Bobby suddenly says he has to go and runs out of the room while Jada yells after him that she just needs a name. Jada then gets a call.

Connie plants the bloody gloves in Bobby’s room and the note she typed on his laptop, then plants a bottle of pills on his nightstand.

Chad tells Jack that the half of the paper he bought from Gwen belongs to him. Jack assures Chad that he wants him to keep it since it was always meant to be Abigail’s. Jack declares that someday it will go to Thomas and Charlotte as that’s what Abigail would want and how it should be. After Jack leaves, Leo arrives at the Spectator office and greets Chad. Leo tells Chad that he has a good problem in having too many gossip items to choose from including Alex being out as Victor’s heir, Xander being set to star in Body and Soul, or if he should turn his lens inward this week which Chad questions. Leo explains that Everett is back from Bayview and the question is if he seems like himself. Chad says he hasn’t spoken to him much since he wouldn’t know. Leo talks about Everett being holed up in his room all the time, so he hasn’t seen him much either. Leo mentions knocking on his door earlier and getting totally blown off.

Connie sneaks out of Bobby’s hotel room and leaves the key card on the floor outside.

Jada finishes her call in the interrogation room, saying to let her know immediately. Stephanie arrives and asks if it’s a bad time. Jada says she’s up to her eyeballs but they need to debrief. Jada informs Stephanie that Bobby admitted to faking Everett’s emergence to get out of Bayview and that he only pretended to be integrated so people wouldn’t suspect he was still Bobby. Stephanie realizes that he was in to Jada then and believes that’s why he stabbed Rafe to get him out of the way. Jada notes that Bobby vehemently denied doing that. Jada adds that Bobby says he knows who did but as soon as she pressed him for specifics, he got sick and said he had to go home.

Bobby returns to his hotel room in pain and finds his keycard on the floor, wondering what is wrong with him.

Kristen goes to the DiMera Enterprises office and tells Ava that she hopes she’s not interrupting. Ava says not at all and that she’s just working on the Gabi Chic relaunch campaign, showing her that they came up with “Chic is Back”. Kristen suggests “Chic Never Left” which Ava likes. Kristen then asks where Gabi is. Ava responds that she had to leave because Stefan summoned her to discuss something he apparently couldn’t talk about over the phone. Kristen calls that unacceptable on only Gabi’s second day. Ava reveals that she actually told Gabi that she could go. Kristen questions why she would do that. Ava explains that she fears the inevitable is about to happen so she wants to get it over with. Kristen questions what she’s talking about and tells her to be serious. Ava clarifies that she just fears that Stefan is planning to tell Gabi that they slept together while she was in prison.

Gabi goes to the Bistro and questions Stefan why it’s closed and what’s wrong. Stefan responds that he wanted one on one time with his wife. Gabi questions doing that now. Stefan asks when if not now. Gabi suggests not when she’s in the middle of an ad campaign and complains that she has a zoom meeting with an investor in Dubai in two hours. Stefan reminds her that she shares her calendar with him and he knows her meeting is tomorrow. Stefan tells Gabi that he missed her and asks if that’s okay. Gabi admits she’s missed him too and she hates that she’s working at DiMera while he’s not, but he has to understand how important this is to her as making Gabi Chic a global brand will take a lot of her time and attention. Stefan assures that he understands and asks her to just give him a minute as he surprises her with roses. Gabi asks what those are for. Stefan questions if she really has to ask as he wishes her a Happy Anniversary.

Leo asks Chad if he should’ve kept knocking on Everett’s door. Chad says no and tells him not to take it personally since Everett is just focusing on his mental health and probably needs some space. Leo wonders if Everett was released from Bayview prematurely. Chad apologizes for being edgy. Leo says he gets it as he’s always on edge. Leo calls it crazy around here since Xander is out and Jack is in. Leo adds that when he heard one of the old owners was back, it made him wonder if Gwen was on her way back too. Leo acknowledges that Gwen hated him in the end, but she was the best friend he ever had and he threw it all away. Leo then realizes that today is Gwen’s anniversary.

Gabi apologizes to Stefan for forgetting their anniversary with Rafe’s stabbing and everything going on with Gabi Chic. Stefan questions how she could forget when they got married twice on this day. Gaib says she’d rather forget the disastrous double wedding with Dimitri and Gwen, but she still blanked. Stefan tells her it’s okay and he just thought maybe she would be expecting something, so he wanted her to be surprised. Gabi tells him that she was and this was so sweet. Gabi thanks him as they kiss. Stefan then tells her that’s not her only surprise as they are only just beginning.

Leo can’t believe it’s been a year since Gwen and Dimitri had the double wedding with Gabi and Stefan. Leo points out that Gwen and Dimitri never even got divorced. Leo complains about how he threw away his entire friendship with Gwen for Dimitri, who unceremoniously dumped him in a letter that didn’t even make any sense. Leo talks about Dimitri meeting a guy in prison and wonders if it’s even true. Chad asks if he thinks he was making it up. Leo says maybe Dimitri didn’t want him to know that he’s going back to Gwen and reclaim his inheritance. Chad thinks that’s all a stretch. Leo asks if Chad has heard from Dimitri since he’s his nephew. Chad responds that he hasn’t and probably never will. Chad asks if it would be less upsetting if Dimitri went back to Gwen rather than ending up with another man. Leo thinks it would be more upsetting if he went back to Gwen because he’d be worried that Dimitri would break her heart all over again. Chad doesn’t think coming up with crazy ideas is doing any good. Leo guesses he just misses them both a lot and wishes things turned out differently.

Stephanie tells Jada that Bobby not being Everett is why he was so cold to her. They talk about Bobby saying he knows who stabbed Li and Rafe. Jada says every time she asks for a name, he has a convenient excuse. Jada says she doesn’t think Bobby is really sick so Stephanie asks why she let him leave. Jada responds that she had no choice since there wasn’t enough evidence to hold him. Stephanie brings up Bobby admitting to lying to get out of Bayview but Jada says that’s not a crime. Stephanie worries that now that Bobby knows they are onto him, he could be packing his bags to skip town. Jada admits he could be but there’s no legal means to stop him, so her hands are tied. Stephanie declares that she doesn’t have to follow police procedures so she’s heading over there right now and rushes out of the room. Jada then hurries out after her.

Bobby crawls in to his bed in pain. Bobby then finds the bottle of Digoxin pills on his nightstand.

Kristen thinks Ava is being paranoid about the whole Stefan situation and advises her to stop bringing it up in public places because you never know who might be listening. Connie then arrives with two coffees. Kristen questions who she is. Connie introduces herself as Gabi’s new executive assistant. Ava notes that Gabi did mention hiring an assistant and introduces herself. Connie asks where Gabi is. Ava says that she’s not in at the moment. Connie says that Gabi told her to be there at 10 AM sharp and she brought her a latte with extra foam which Kristen takes instead. Kristen takes a drink and then says it’s awful, questioning what Connie put in it. Connie then thinks back to spiking Bobby’s coffee with the Digoxin pills. Connie tells Kristen that she didn’t put anything in her drink.

Bobby remains struggling on his bed and thinks back to Connie showing up at his door, realizing that she caused this. Bobby weakly pulls out his phone and tries to dial 911.

Chad tells Leo that he can’t stare in the rearview mirror for too long as he has to look forward. Leo says he’s trying and apologizes for laying this all on him. Chad says it’s fine and that he hopes good things happen for Leo. Chad encourages that Leo has a lot going for him. Leo tells him not to hold back. Chad tells Leo that he’s smart, funny and he at least tries to be a better person. Leo remarks that he rarely succeeds but thanks Chad, saying it means a lot. Chad tells Leo that it’s okay to feel lonely because moving on from the love of your life is sometimes impossible. Leo tells Chad that he knows what’s going on with Abigail and assumes there hasn’t been any updates. Chad says not yet. Leo hopes that Chad doesn’t ever have to move on.

Gabi asks Stefan about another surprise. Stefan says he even surprised himself a little bit as he wrote Gabi a poem which he started while they were apart and finished it last night in hopes that he could recite it to her on their anniversary. Stefan intends to put it to music one day and send it to her. Stefan then recites his poem to Gabi which she calls beautiful as they hug. They wish each other a Happy Anniversary as they kiss.

Kristen asks Connie to bring her some sweetener for the coffee. Connie argues that she works for Gabi. Kristen tells Connie that Gabi works for her and tells her to hurry up as Ava directs her to the break room. After Connie leaves, Ava worries about if she heard them talking about Stefan. Kristen says they are just lucky she didn’t come in a minute sooner. Ava then gets a text from Gabi, informing her that she’s not coming back as she’s taking the rest of the day off because her and Stefan are celebrating their anniversary. Kristen guesses Ava has nothing to worry about then. Ava agrees that she just needs to chill out. Connie returns with sweetener for Kristen. Kristen mentions a scheduled meeting. Connie asks where her desk is. Kristen tells her to ask Gabi as she and Ava then exit the office. Connie then decides on an open desk and takes a seat.

Stephanie and Jada go to Bobby’s hotel room at the Salem Inn. Stephanie knocks on the door, calling for Everett. Jada reveals a keycard and says the manager doesn’t need to know that she doesn’t have a warrant. Stephanie hopes they aren’t too late. They enter the room and are shocked to find Bobby unconscious on the bed. They try to wake him up. Jada checks his pulse and confirms he’s still breathing but his pulse is very weak. Jada questions what Bobby did. Jada then finds the Digoxin pills and asks how many he took.

Connie declares that she has now washed her hands of the Bobby problem and can now focus on making Gabi and Stefan pay for what they did to Li. Connie then reveals that she hid outside the door and overheard Ava tell Kristen about her and Stefan sleeping together while Gabi was in prison. Connie then remarks to herself that the perfect ammunition just fell in to her lap.

Gabi tells Stefan that his poem was so beautiful. Stefan credits her for inspiring him and says he falls more in love with her every day. Stefan pours them glasses of champagne and toasts to the year ahead which Gabi says will be the best one yet and then they kiss.

Leo sits alone in the town square and calls Gwen. Leo is shocked that she actually answered and says he was just thinking about her as today is her anniversary. Gwen tells him to go screw himself and hangs up. Leo remarks that Chad was right that he should’ve just left well enough alone.

Jack returns to the Spectator office and informs Chad that he’s got their enhanced video on a flash drive.

Chanel wakes up in a panic that she overslept and has to go open the Bakery but Johnny stops her and reminds her that she took the morning off. Johnny declares that means the morning belongs to them as they kiss until Chanel tells him he has to stop, leaving Johnny confused.

Abe and Kate are in their office on set of Body and Soul. Abe calls it surreal that they are doing this as Kate declares that Body and Soul relaunches today. Abe adds that they are in charge.

Stephanie sits in the town square with her laptop when she gets a call from Jada and asks if there’s any news. Jada informs her that she just told Marlena their theory that Everett never re-emerged and that Bobby is still in control. Jada says that Marlena was limited by confidentiality but reading between the lines, she thinks Marlena agrees with them. Stephanie guesses they are on the right track then and asks if she told Marlena that they think Bobby might have stabbed Rafe. Jada says she’s keeping that on a need to know basis. Stephanie decides that’s a good idea and says they might not know what Everett is capable of but that is hard for her to wrap her head around. Leo then appears in front of Stephanie and asks what Everett did now.

Connie goes to Bobby’s hotel room. Bobby thought they agreed not to be seen together and calls it an idiotic risk for both of them. Bobby argues that she’s begging for someone to catch a glimpse of them and connect the dots. Connie responds that she’s not really worried so Bobby questions what she knows that he doesn’t. Connie thinks back to overhearing Jada and Stephanie talking about their theory that Bobby might be the one that stabbed Rafe. Connie then tells Bobby that she has a perfect record, so whenever she commits a crime, she gets away with it.

Stephanie tells Jada that she will call her back and questions Leo eavesdropping. Leo says he smells a story or something that could have a negative impact on him. Stephanie tells him to put it away. Leo complains about how things are at the Spectator and says he will sit here until she tells him the truth. Stephanie tells Leo that it will go no further than this table.

Bobby asks Connie how many crimes she’s committed that she’s gotten away with. Connie says they’d need a ruling from the judge because she’s not sure stabbing Rafe counts as her crime. Bobby responds that it certainly isn’t his. Connie argues that he’s the one who wanted a favor in exchange for keeping his mouth shut about Li. Bobby complains that he asked for a favor, not a murder. Connie asks what he thought she would do. Bobby says he doesn’t know her or like her and she’s not his friend, so he never wants to see her again. Connie declares that his wish is her command.

Paulina goes to the police station and hugs Jada, telling her that she’s sorry about Rafe. Jada thanks her for the flowers she and Abe sent to his room. Paulina wishes she could do more. Paulina says that until Rafe is able to return to work, she needs to appoint an interim commissioner. Jada agrees to give her respect and cooperation to whoever she chooses. Paulina then reveals that she has chosen Jada.

Johnny asks if Chanel is feeling okay. Chanel says she’s fine and apologizes if it feels like she’s pushing him away but she can’t stop thinking about what the doctor said after they lost the baby. Johnny guesses she means about waiting 6-12 months before trying to get pregnant again. Johnny thought they were okay since she’s on the pill. Chanel responds that she is but after her miscarriage, she’s not taking any chances.

Abe tells Kate there are so many fresh faces but he just hopes some of them show up for their open casting call. Kate hopes so as well, talking about wanting to get the show up and streaming before the fans get out of the habit of watching every day. Someone knocks on the door, so Kate declares it’s time to let the auditions begin. Abe excitedly says to imagine that their next big star is on the other side of the door. They then open the door to apparently see Marlena in a dress.

Paulina reminds Jada that she wanted the commissioner spot before and now out of all the candidates, she is by far the most qualified. Jada says she’s flattered but they are talking about the man she loves, so she can’t just take his job. Paulina argues that it would only be until Rafe wakes up and she thinks he would want the best person available working to find his attacker to bring them to justice. Paulina feels they owe Rafe that. Jada says it’s hard to turn down when she puts it that way. Paulina jokes that she’s not a politician for nothing and asks if that’s a yes. Jada then accepts the position and says it will be her honor. Jada promises to work nonstop to find the bastard who put Rafe in a coma. Paulina says she knows she will and she will get right to work on a press release today. Paulina tells Jada to call her private line if she needs anything. Paulina then notices that Jada is looking at the Li Shin file and says she thought that case was closed. Jada reveals that she reopened it again because some new information has come to light and there may be another suspect. Paulina tells Jada to round them up because the last thing the town needs is another killer on the loose.

Connie tells Bobby that the donuts she brought from the bakery were $12.99 and money’s a little tight until her new job starts. Bobby responds that he’s not paying for it as he doesn’t even like donuts. Connie explains that she brought them to help him woo Jada, pointing out that Jada doesn’t even like Everett. Bobby talks about telling Marlena in his recent session that Bobby and Everett have integrated so Everett can do whatever he wants him to do now and never has to learn about his ugly past. Connie remarks that Everett must really owe Bobby for keeping him in his mental dungeon. Bobby pays Connie in cash, then she asks for a chocolate donut for her troubles which he agrees to. When Bobby turns around, Connie steals his key card from his wallet.

Stephanie informs Leo that Everett broke up with her. Leo says he’s so sorry but he’s shocked because Everett would go on about her constantly like it was a love story for the ages. Leo feels something is off about the whole scenario.

Johnny asks if Chanel is saying she doesn’t want to make love. Chanel clarifies that she’s just saying she usually takes her birth control pill when she wakes up at 4 AM but she overslept, so she hasn’t taken it yet. Chanel thanks him for understanding. Johnny doesn’t know if this is the right time but he knows there’s a risk of another pregnancy in the future, so he tells her it’s okay if she doesn’t want to. Chanel knows she was on the fence about having a kid but she’s learned from this experience that when the time is right, it will be right and she cannot wait to have a baby with him if he’s good with that. Johnny suggests letting him show her instead of telling her as they continue kissing.

Abe is glad to see Marlena has changed her mind. She tells him not to call her Marlena as she comes inside. Kate guesses she’s in character. Abe apologizes and acknowledges her as the one and only Charlemagne. She then reveals that she is the one and only Hattie Adams. Kate thought Hattie left town. Hattie responds that she did as she was trying to find herself and she went everywhere from a convent to a nudist colony but it didn’t seem like she fit in anywhere and then she remembered fitting in right here in Salem. Hattie recalls pretending to be Marlena before, so it occurred to her that her calling is to be an actress. Hattie talks about when she got there, the strike was going on for months. Hattie says she saw the casting call for Body and Soul and always thought she looked like Charlemagne. Kate asks if she can play the part. Hattie responds that she played Marlena, so Kate tells her to play Charlemagne. Hattie asks for them to give her a script.

Chanel tells Johnny that she wishes they could just lay here all day. Johnny reminds her that they have breakfast with Paulina so they should get going. Chanel complains that she never gets to stay in bed like this. Johnny offers to reschedule. Chanel says Paulina is chronically late so maybe they can take a few more minutes. Johnny agrees as they resume kissing.

Jada tells Paulina that she doesn’t want a murderer on the loose either but she has to proceed with caution because the person involved in Li’s murder might be connected to the person who attacked Rafe. Paulina feels that’s all the more reason to act quickly. Jada assures that she has a plan and she hopes to execute it today.

Connie tells Bobby to have a great life as she exits his hotel room. Bobby then gets a call from Jada, who says she’s not happy with the way they left things so she hoped they could talk. Jada invites him to the police station so he says he’ll be right over and hangs up.

Stephanie tells Leo that it’s not like Everett ripped her heart out but that it was out of concern for his mental health and not wanting to ask her to wait for him. Leo argues that Everett would know that Stephanie would have waited for him which confirms to him that Everett has been acting really strange since getting out of Bayview. Stephanie asks so. Leo says he has been moody and withdrawn, pointing out that the other day he had to say Everett’s name three times as if he didn’t recognize it. Leo then comes to a realization and says that would explain everything. Leo then asks what if it wasn’t Everett, but Bobby Stein.

Bobby takes his donuts and exits his hotel room. Connie then uses the key card to sneak in to his room.

Abe and Kate tell Hattie that they will give her some scenes to audition. Abe tells Hattie that she will play Charlemagne while Kate will play Lorna. Hattie struggles with the script, so Abe encourages more emotion. Abe tells Hattie that she needs to make them care that Lorna is taking Charlemagne’s position as the new top diva in town. Hattie apologizes for messing up, thinking that she ruined her chances but Abe encourages her to bring that emotion to the scenes. Hattie then gets excited about getting the job.

Paulina joins Chanel and Johnny at the Brady Pub. Paulina mentions that she had to stop by the police station to give Rafe’s job to Jada temporarily. Paulina tells them that she does have good news as she announces Jada already has a suspect in Rafe’s attack. Paulina says they are all praying that Rafe will pull through this again and she knows his attacker will be behind bars because no one is more motivated than Jada to get to the bottom of this.

Leo talks to Stephanie about Bobby being married to Jada, so maybe he’s still in control and dumped her for Jada. Stephanie laughs him off and insists that Bobby is not in control anymore and that’s why Marlena released him, so his theory is ridiculous. Leo disagrees and calls it credible.

Bobby as “Everett” goes to meet Jada in the interrogation room. He tells her that he brought her donuts as a peace offering. He acknowledges that he crossed the line in Rafe’s hospital room and says he knows that she’s going through so much right now, so he doesn’t want to make her uncomfortable. Jada says she appreciates that as she was worried about him not acting like himself. He claims he can explain that and talks about starting to feel some of Bobby’s feelings, like he’s part of him. He then tells Jada that his therapy with Marlena has been incredible and that her hypnosis helped him remember all these things that he blocked out for years. Jada asks if his memory is back then and calls that a great break for both of them. He questions what she means. Jada points out that Bobby knew who killed Li Shin, so that means “Everett” knows too and can finally tell her.

Paulina talks with Chanel and Johnny about watching her cholesterol. Paulina adds that she’s glad they and the Bakery are still here. Chanel says she’s still very sad about what happened, but she feels so lucky to get to see her mom every day. Paulina says she’s the lucky one. Chanel adds that some day when the time is right, she and Johnny will try again to start a family. Chanel says when that time comes, they will be so blessed to have Paulina by their side. Paulina asks about the plan to move to LA. Johnny says he’s decided to find work here and closer to Chicago. Paulina jokes that some of the shows can give Body and Soul a run for it’s money.

Abe asks Hattie to leave for a moment so he can talk to Kate. Hattie agrees to wait outside and exits. Kate tells Abe that she knows Hattie looks the part, but she can’t act and calls her terrible. Abe says they can hire an acting coach and if they don’t get what they want, they’ll make a change but she has the look. Kate reluctantly agrees to defer to him. Kate decides they have their Charlemagne and calls Hattie back in. Abe then tells Hattie that she’s hired which thrills her. Hattie thanks him and says they won’t regret this but Kate mutters that she is already. Abe says he has to run an errand, so Kate will go over the detail of Hattie’s contract.

Stephanie knows Leo is really excited about his theory, but says he can’t tell people about it. Leo says he can make it a blind item but Stephanie argues that everyone would know who he’s talking about and she doubts that his boss would appreciate him making assumptions about his mental health in his paper. Leo asks if Stephanie thinks he could be right. Stephanie claims that she doesn’t. Leo hopes that he at least ended things in person since Dimitri broke up with him by snail mail. Leo adds that if Everett thought he was protecting her by breaking up with her, he would like to set him straight but Stephanie tells him to drop it. Stephanie decides she should get going and walks away. Leo complains about what Stephanie told him and asks when he’s ever stayed out of anything.

“Everett” tells Jada that he’s not sure it works the way she thinks it works. He claims he’s thinking about it now, but it’s fuzzy. Jada guesses he still doesn’t want to tell her what he saw on the day that Li Shin was murdered. “Everett” says Bobby was the one stringing her along on that. Jada points out that he just said they were integrated. Jada decides that maybe Rafe was right that he didn’t see anything, so there’s nothing to remember, or maybe he doesn’t want to tell him who stabbed Li Shin because that person is him. Bobby laughs it off and asks if she’s serious as he barely knew Li. Jada asks about Rafe since he was stabbed in the back the same way. Jada doesn’t know what his motive would be with Li, but she can think of several reasons he would want Rafe out of the way. He tells her to slow down. Jada brings up that when Bobby emerged, he was all about them getting back together even though she was in a committed relationship with Rafe. Jada thinks Bobby pretended that Everett emerged but he was Bobby when he went to Bayview, when he left Bayview, and when he stabbed Rafe in the back.

Connie wears black gloves while typing on a laptop in Everett’s hotel room and says that should do it. Connie then pulls out a bag, revealing the gloves she wore when stabbing Rafe with Rafe’s blood on them.

Kate negotiates with Hattie about her contract, reminding her that she has no experience. Hattie feels it’s a low ball offer and wants perks included. Kate tells Hattie that she will do her own hair and makeup. Hattie asks if Abe would want her unhappy. Kate tells her that she won’t twist Abe to her advantage. Kate then asks Hattie if she wants the role or not, so Hattie agrees to sign the contract.

Abe joins Paulina, Chanel, and Johnny at the Pub. Paulina calls it a nice surprise and says she was just about tell Johnny to hit Abe up for a job. Abe says great minds think alike and tells Johnny that he will need a great director to bring out the talent of some their less experienced actors. Abe knows it’s not the Hollywood blockbuster he dreamed of. Johnny calls it a job doing what he loves. Chanel points out that it’s in Salem too. Johnny adds that he’d be working with someone he adores and respects, so it’s everything he could ask for. Chanel calls it amazing and congratulates Johnny as they all toast to that.

Bobby as “Everett” tells Jada that he knows this is difficult to understand but claims Bobby is gone and he doesn’t need him anymore. Bobby tells her that she can ask Marlena. Jada argues that he knows Marlena can’t talk to her about his case, unless he’s about to commit another murder and asks if he’s going to do that. He repeats that he’s not Bobby and not a murderer. Jada argues that he was freed from Bayview the same day that Rafe got stabbed and then Stephanie went to visit him as he was getting out of the shower. Jada questions if he was washing off evidence from a bloody crime scene. He says no, so Jada asks why he looks so guilty. He laughs it off and repeats that he’s not Bobby. Jada calls him her best suspect in two stabbing attacks, so her next move will be to get on the phone with some experts to come examine him as she’s pretty sure he’s still Bobby and not Everett, so he better come back with some better responses. He then admits that he’s Bobby but insists that he did not stab Li or Rafe, but he knows who did.

Connie comments to herself about planting gloves to stay out of prison but Leo knocks on the door, saying he needs to talk to Everett and asks if he’s in there.

At the Horton Cabin on Smith Island, Tate paces with his phone, questioning what Theresa has done. Holly arrives and tries to tell Tate there’s something he needs to know but Tate informs her that he just got the worst news that his mom has been arrested.

At the police station, Andrew enters the interrogation room to see Theresa. She says she was wondering when he was going to show up to tell her how disappointed he is and that he’s ashamed to be her brother and ready to disown her. Andrew responds that isn’t why he’s here. Andrew then reveals he came to say he’s proud of her.

Marlena talks with Kayla in her office about her last session with Everett and thinks his reaction to hypnosis was textbook and he was just telling her what she wanted to hear. Marlena is concerned that “Everett” is faking his integration. Abe then arrives and says he’s sorry to interrupt but that Marlena’s assistant said she might be willing to talk. Marlena says she has a few minutes. Kayla offers to step out but Abe asks her to stay and says he’s happy he caught them together. Marlena asks if something is wrong. Abe says it’s all good and hopes they can make it better. Kayla asks what this is about. Abe responds that he has an offer they can’t refuse.

Roman decorates the Brady Pub for Eric and Nicole’s going away party. Kate walks in and asks what the occasion is. Roman informs her that Eric and Nicole are moving to Paris.

Eric and Nicole pack bags in Eric’s room. Eric mentions that Roman said he’d hold onto anything they can’t fit while Nicole remarks that EJ will probably burn whatever she had left. Eric has Deja vu as he realizes he’s packing the same bag that he was carrying when Nicole stopped him from getting on the plane to Paris. Nicole points out that now they are going together as they hug.

Abe is sure Kayla and Marlena heard about Body and Soul being cancelled. Kayla confirms that she did and explains to Marlena that it was a soap opera that Abe is a big fan of. Abe informs them that the good news is that it might be making a comeback. Abe then announces that he and Kate bought the rights and will be filming it right here in Salem. Marlena calls that cute while Kayla thinks he and Kate will make a good team. Marlena adds that it might even be a boost to the local economy which Abe calls part of the pitch to investors. Kayla tells Abe that they will support any way they can. Abe says he’s happy to hear them say that because he’s going to need their help. Marlena asks if he’s looking for investors. Abe says no, they are looking for stars.

Theresa questions Andrew saying he’s proud of her when she’s committed multiple felonies. Andrew explains that he’s proud of her for turning herself in and taking responsibility for what she did which shows character. Theresa says she appreciates his approval but she doesn’t know what character is going to do when she’s doing hard time.

Tate complains to Holly that he can’t believe this is happening when Theresa judges him for lying and sneaking around, but then she does this. Tate knew Theresa had done bad things in the past but he really believed that she was trying to be better and now he finds out through Lady Whistleblower that Theresa forged the letter to make Alex be Victor’s son when it was really Xander. Holly reveals she knows because Maggie just told her the whole story. Holly says she’s sorry about his mom as she hugs him. Tate guesses it hasn’t really sunk in yet and feels like he’s in some kind of nightmare but this really happened. Holly calls it terrible for Theresa, Tate, and Brady but notes that she has some good news. Holly informs Tate that Maggie just asked her to live with her.

Eric asks if Nicole is sure she’s okay letting Holly stay in Salem. Nicole admits that she’s not but she always worries. Eric understands she’s a caring mom. Nicole states that Holly made a really good case that it’s her senior year and she doesn’t want to leave her friends, adding that she’s not doing drugs anymore so she has to learn to trust her. Nicole adds that Holly will have Maggie and other family like Sarah, Abe, and Paulina to be there for her. Nicole says after everything that has happened, she doesn’t want to disrupt Holly’s life more than she already has. Eric gets it but says he wasn’t just asking what it means for Holly. Nicole admits she will obviously miss her like crazy, but she knows that she will be surrounded by people who love her so she has to let Holly live her life while she focuses on living her life with Jude and Eric. Nicole tells Eric that they’ve been waiting for this for so long and now they have a baby together. Nicole says sometimes she wonders if she’s dreaming. Eric assures that she’s not as they kiss.

Marlena questions Abe looking for stars. Abe clarifies that he means actors who will become stars when they get the show up and running. Marlena asks what that has to do with them. Kayla thinks she knows. Abe tells Kayla that she is the spitting image of Cassandra Lovegood while Marlena is a dead ringer for Charlemagne Delacroix which Kayla identifies as the names of the characters on Body and Soul. Abe insists that they look just like them and calls it uncanny. Abe points out that Charlemagne has done 5000 episodes of Body and Soul and has been on the show for decades as he shows Marlena a picture of her. Marlena remarks that there may be a slight resemblance. Abe repeats that it’s uncanny, just like Kayla is for Cassandra. Abe declares that he knows they would be perfect for the reboot of Body and Soul.

Kate asks Roman if now EJ is driving people out of country. Roman confirms that EJ is making things difficult so Eric and Nicole decided it would be easier to leave town rather than deal with him. Kate calls EJ the villain and says that Eric and Nicole have been punished enough. Roman remarks that EJ is a DiMera. Kate says that’s for sure and at least Eric is taking the magazine job in Paris. Roman says they are packing Jude up and moving there. Kate says Eric was really happy about the job and it’s good for his career so they could do a lot worse than Paris. Kate asks about Holly. Roman says she is staying in Salem.

Holly explains to Tate that when Nicole told her that she and Eric were moving to Paris, she said she would refuse to go. Tate asks if Nicole was okay with it. Holly says not at first, but she realized she would be miserable if she forced her to leave her whole life behind and then Maggie said she could live with her. Tate says that’s really great. Holly doesn’t want to act like it’s all good news when Tate is so upset about his mom. Tate says it’s okay as he has to remind himself that Theresa brought this on herself, so as sorry as he feels for her, he’s really angry at her for all the lies she told and how many people she hurt. Tate guesses he should look at the upside that his mom won’t be policing him anymore for awhile. Holly adds that her mom is moving to another continent, so Tate declares they won’t have to sneak around anymore. Holly knows it’s bittersweet with Tate’s mom in serious trouble while her mom has to move to another country because her husband turned out to be a lying bastard, but she’s so grateful that they have each other. Tate agrees as they kiss.

Andrew encourages Theresa that she might not have to do hard time as he’s going to see if he can negotiate a deal. Theresa questions if he really thinks he can do that. Andrew says he’s going to try but notes that she is facing serious charges so there will be serious consequences. Theresa feels there should be because she hurt a lot of people including some she really cares about. Andrew talks about the other factors like Sarah and Xander’s baby being returned to them not long after while the actions of fraud were done on foreign soil in Greece. Theresa says he’s making it sound like she has a chance to beat this. Theresa asks if he can really thinks he can sell this to the district attorney.

Eric and Nicole kiss onto the bed in his room as they begin to undress and then have sex.

Holly tells Tate that they can finally be together whenever they want. Tate asks what about his dad. Holly thought it was only his mom that was freaked out about them. Tate says his dad was more reasonable but he will go ballistic if he finds out he was paying all this money for Aaron to go to lacrosse camp. Holly agrees that he won’t be too reasonable about that. Tate worries he might never speak to him again. Holly asks what to do. Tate thinks she will have to continue working at the Bistro while he stays here at the cabin. Holly suggests saying he got homesick and came home early but Tate says his dad won’t buy that. Holly suggests faking an injury so he can’t play lacrosse anymore. Tate supposes that could work but he doesn’t think they could trust Sophia to keep her mouth shut and he still thinks it would be a mistake to underestimate Theresa’s ability to totally wreck his life. Holly guesses she doesn’t mind sneaking around a little longer and jokes that it makes it kind of exciting as they kiss. Holly says she doesn’t want to but she has to go since she has to say goodbye to Nicole, Jude, and Eric. Holly says it’s funny that she spent all this time hoping her mom would leave her alone, but now that she actually is, she’s really going to miss her, Eric, and Jude. Tate remarks that while Holly’s mom is going to Paris, his is probably going to prison. Tate says he’ll be fine as he’s used to his mom doing crazy, self-destructive things. Holly encourages that Theresa has a great family who loves her no matter what and she has Tate in her corner to be there for her. They kiss goodbye as Holly then leaves the cabin.

Andrew tells Theresa that he can’t be certain that EJ will agree to a deal but he can definitely make a case and considering how EJ feels right now about Nicole, the fact that Nicole hates her might work in her favor. Theresa agrees that she sees his point. Theresa knows she has royally screwed up, probably worse than ever before so she wants him to know how grateful she is that he wants to help her, but she doesn’t understand why. Andrew reminds Theresa of when he took their dad’s car out for a drive when they were little and wrecked it, pointing out that he committed a few felonies of his own that night. Andrew recalls Shane going to read him the riot act when Theresa suddenly came in and took the blame. Theresa says she was always the one doing awful things so she didn’t think it would matter if she did one more. Andrew then gets a call from Shane and jokes that he must have known they were talking about him. Andrew goes to answer the call but Theresa asks to take it and answers.

Kate tells Roman that she would think after all the drama Holly had this summer, Nicole wouldn’t want to let her out of sight. Roman says that not all of the drama was Holly’s making and Nicole doesn’t want to move her halfway around the world. Roman adds that he’s sure Maggie will keep an eye on her. Kate jokes that she wouldn’t want a teenager living under her roof. Roman says they paid their dues raising Sami and Lucas. Kate comments that she’s glad to be restricting her drama to the television screen these days. Roman calls that incredible that she got the rights to Body and Soul and says he’s proud of her. Kate thanks him and says she’s proud of herself since it all seems to be coming together as Abe is casting as they speak.

Marlena calls it a flattering offer but says she couldn’t shoot a TV show with her schedule. Kayla feels the same as Chief of Staff at the hospital. Abe understands but says they can shoot around their schedules and do some location shooting at the hospital. Kayla appreciates it but says she will have to pass. Marlena passes as well and says she’s sure Abe can find somebody else for the roles. Marlena, Kayla, and Abe then each get a text from Kate about Eric and Nicole’s going away party at the Pub. Kayla asks where they are going. Marlena says she’ll explain on the way. Abe says that will give him a chance to change their minds.

Eric and Nicole lay in bed after having sex. Nicole jokes that this time they weren’t high on biscuits. Nicole then realizes they are both still married to other people so they just committed adultery and she doesn’t feel a bit guilty. Eric feels the same and kisses her. Nicole tells Eric that she loves him. Eric says he loves her too as they continue kissing.

Theresa thanks Shane and says she loves him too as she hangs up. Theresa then calls Tate from Andrew’s phone.

Marlena, Kayla, and Abe go to the Brady Pub. Kate asks if she’s looking at the new stars of Body and Soul. Kayla says she’s afraid not while Marlena calls it a flattering offer. Abe confirms they turned him down. Kate says she’s disappointed but not surprised since they are asking two doctors to give up all their free time. Kayla says she’s sure there will be plenty of other people wanting the roles. Abe encourages Kate that can still play Lorna DeLorean but Kate questions the idea of producing the show and starring in it too. Abe tells Kayla and Marlena that he’s not giving up on them. Kayla goes to get a drink. Roman approaches Marlena and says he’s going to miss Eric and Jude so much. Marlena mentions trying to contact Brady to invite him but he didn’t respond. Roman points out that Eric and Nicole didn’t give them much notice. Marlena says it would’ve been nice to have a large group there for them, especially since John and Steve are still in Europe. Holly arrives and says she’s sorry she’s late. Roman says that Eric and Nicole are still upstairs packing but should be down soon. Holly mentions that she can’t stay long since she has the dinner shift at the Bistro. Marlena asks if they are working her too hard over there but Holly says she doesn’t mind being busy, joking that it keeps her out of trouble. Roman tells Holly that he knows Eric and Nicole are going to miss her like crazy, but they are very happy that she’s staying in Salem. Eric and Nicole then come downstairs, surprised to see everybody as they all hug them.

Theresa asks Tate how camp is. Tate says it’s okay but he read about what happened at the wedding. Theresa figured he would and confirms it’s all true that she got arrested and is at the police station now. Tate says he’ll come there right now but Theresa says no since Andrew is with him. Tate realizes that’s why she has his phone and asks what is going to happen to her. Theresa thinks she might be going to prison.

Eric says they didn’t have to do all of this. Roman says they just wanted to celebrate them both as they head out to celebrate their new life together. Marlena calls for a toast to Eric and Nicole, talking about they weathered so many storms to be together. Marlena encourages that they are so proud of them. Marlena talks about how long Eric has wanted to be a father and he finally has his beautiful baby boy and the woman he loves, who happens to be the mother of that baby so dreams do come true. Marlena says they will miss them but there will be lots of calls and video chats. Marlena hopes that they get to come back sometime soon, but until then, they wish them love and peace on this amazing journey together. Marlena toasts to her son Eric and the love of his life, Nicole. Eric and Nicole look at each other and flash back to various moments in their past. Eric and Nicole then kiss as everyone around them cheers. Abe hugs Nicole and tells her that he’s going to miss her so much. Nicole tells Abe to come visit next time he visits Theo. Marlena hugs Eric and guesses saying goodbye never gets easier. Eric knows he’s made her do it more than she’d like. Marlena wants him to be happy. Eric says he finally is. Roman questions if he has to be happy halfway around the world. Eric assures he will miss them both a lot as they hug. Nicole hugs Holly and says she really hates leaving her. Holly says they can video chat every day and assures she will be fine. Holly tells Nicole that she’s sorry for all the time she was hard on her or mad at her, calling her a wonderful person and a great mom. Holly knows she’s had so much loss and sadness in her life and she’s so proud of how strong she’s been through all of it. Nicole thanks her and says she’s proud of her too for her strength and kindness. Nicole cries that she just wants Holly to have a great life. Holly hopes the same for Nicole, Eric, and Jude, saying that Nicole and Eric were meant for each other as they hug goodbye. Holly promises to be good for Maggie and to come see her as soon as they are settled.

Tate asks if Theresa really thinks she’s going to prison. Theresa hopes it doesn’t come to that and says that Andrew is trying to make a deal for her, but if he doesn’t, she wants him to know she will be okay. Theresa adds that she realizes she’s been really hard on Tate and she’s so proud of him. Theresa says that Tate has really stepped up and owned up to his mistakes as she knows he didn’t want to go but she also knows he’s working really hard at lacrosse camp. Theresa says that Tate has been honest about where he went wrong and really set an example for her which is part of the reason she turned herself in. Tate then tells her that he has to tell her something. Theresa says to let her say something first about Holly. Theresa then tells Tate that when he comes back from camp, if he wants to see Holly, she’s not going to do anything to stop him as she trusts him and loves him so much. Tate responds that he loves her too and he’s really proud of her. Theresa thanks him and says goodbye as they hang up. Andrew then returns to the interrogation room.

Eric and Nicole say goodbye to Abe, Kate, Kayla, Holly, Marlena, and Roman as they exit the Pub with Jude for the final time. Marlena says she was as strong as she could be and is now going to have a really good cry. Roman encourages those to be happy tears. Abe points out that Eric and Nicole are together which is the way it should be. Abe remarks that art imitates life like in Body and Soul where people leave but they almost always come back.

Nicole and Eric look over Jude as he sleeps outside the Pub. Nicole says Jude must be having good dreams while Eric feels he’s the one dreaming as he asks if this is really happening. Nicole says it is and if it’s not, she doesn’t want to wake up. Eric asks if she’s ready to go. Nicole responds that she’s never been more ready as they kiss. Eric and Nicole then walk off with Jude, leaving Salem.
