The entire episode takes place in the French Rivera as the Newmans and the Abbots arrive at Aristotle Dumas chateau.
The Newman family, Billy, Sally, and Sharon arrive first at the chateau. Aristotle’s assistant, Carter, tells the group they must go through a maze and, when they find their way out of the maze, lunch will be waiting for them. Billy and Sally find their way out of the maze first and are instructed to wait until all the guests have found their way out of the maze.
The Abbott family, Kyle and Audra are on the train making their way up the mountain to the Chateau. The Abbott family and Audra arrive at the Chateau where Carter tells them they must find their way out of the maze to find their lunch. The Abbotts and Audra arrive at the dining room where Carter tells them that Aristote is stuck in Oslo and will arrive tomorrow, but he apologizes for the delay.
Phyllis is alone on the train making her way to the Chateau.
Aristote Dumas guests are unaware that Aristotle is somewhere inside the Chateau watching everyone in the dining room via close-circuit TV.
