It’s just so peaceful down here. Yeah, uh… what’s going on? Just been thinking. Is this about Ridge? And what’s happened to our life together. RIDGE: What? No, that’s what I’m asking you. How does someone get pardoned when they killed two people? Please, let me know. So this is true– -Luna’s a free woman? -All because of Spencer. -You got confirmation. -No! Confirmation for what? -I-it had to be him! -Who else? Or who would want to? Well, it’s not gonna stand, Granddad. I’m not gonna stop fighting until Luna’s back in prison. But we can’t focus on that right now. We need to focus on Forrester Creations. Today’s the day we’re gonna get the company out of Carter’s hands. [lightly edgy music plays] CARTER: When I thought of the moment of my ideas taking this company to the next level, of making an impact here, I never thought I’d be doing it without you. I miss our friendship, Ridge. I miss my brother. [door clicks shut] You miss him… your best friend, no? [somber music plays] I don’t have an official address yet. I-I no longer live here. I just came back to pick up a few things this morning. That’s all right. You can update us within 30 days. [softly] Okay. Your, uh, personal belongings from intake. -That’s it? -On my end. That we were better off alone. That-that Nozawa power BS– that was all fake. You betrayed your own sister, Finn, and me. Your lies ruined my life. You can admit how much this hurts. I’m trying to focus on work, Daphne. Yeah. But every triumph leaves a bruise. Ill-gotten gains encouraged by Hope. I know you think you’re in love, darling, but she’s been using you. You don’t believe me. When you finally give the company back to the Forresters, remember what I told you about Hope. I imagine the entire family must be in shock. I mean, first they learn that Finn is Luna’s dad and that she has been pardoned for her crimes. What did Ridge have to say? I reached out to him, and he hasn’t gotten back to me. And I just hate not… being connected to him. You know, I don’t know what’s going on in his life. Carter has been running this LLC successfully. But without couture. And without couture, there is no Forrester Creations. But you and Dad– you two can’t be replaced. -And Carter knows that. -All right. I think we’ve waited long enough– Justin doesn’t have any answers. You think you can trust Carter’s conscience? I think we can. We give him a way out, he’s gonna take it. She’s been extremely instrumental, helping Carter see where he went wrong and what he needs to do to make things right. Good. My friend is in there, fast asleep, and we gotta wake him up before it’s too late. Everything that I have ever done has always been for you, Luna. [laughs] I don’t believe that. I wasn’t going to saddle you with just any father. You deserved better than any of the guys that I met. Oh! Okay, so that’s why you never got serious with any of the men in your life, because you cared so much about me. Did you ever believe that Bill could be my father? I hoped that he was. And I really wanted him to be. But deep down, you knew it was Finn. Didn’t you, Mom? I can’t believe this. -Daphne kissed Carter? -Mm-hmm. I saw it with my own eyes. But she knows he’s with you. Well, she would like to change that. What? She thinks that I don’t listen to him. That I pushed him into taking over the company, that I’m using him to save my line. She said that? It’s pretty clear to me that Steffy got in her head somehow, and it just… it hurts. She’s someone that I really looked up to in this industry. She’s someone that I admired, that I had such respect for, and she wanted to work with us, help us. And instead… she betrays me. -Muah. Bonjour, my friend. -Bonjour! Um, actually, I have an update for you. Dis-moi tout. Well, I think our plan has moved a lot faster. It’s-it’s even better. And obviously, I knew that you weren’t gonna have any trouble getting Carter’s attention, driving a wedge between him and Hope, but you did something else. You woke up his conscience. [chuckles] I merely, merely reminded him what he already knew–betraying your family was a mistake encouraged by Hope. You know you’re way better than her, right? We all are, especially Carter. You know, he’s a really good man, Steffy, with a good heart. You developed real feelings for him, haven’t you? I think so. Despite my intentions, I really care about him. But I know how badly he hurt your family. Well, I do put most of the blame on Hope. I haven’t written off Carter entirely, and neither have my father and my grandfather. They’re actually at the office right now. They’ve giving Carter one last chance to give us back the company. DAPHNE: When I first came to Forrester, knowing there was a coup in progress, I thought I’d meet a traitor in you, someone so ruthless and cunning, I’d have to watch my own back too. But I was wrong. That’s not who you are at all. You’re an extraordinary man, a man of principles. [footsteps] Ridge. Eric. Been a long time, Carter. I’m surprised to see you. You’ll be even more surprised when you find out why we’re here. This has been going on long enough. Dad and I, we’re… coming back to our company. [edgy music plays] Admit it. All this time, you knew. You knew Finn was my dad. He was right there, and your lies kept us apart. Luna, Finn has always been a part of your life. You grew up knowing him! I thought he was my cousin, Mom. But you knew he wasn’t. Didn’t you? Still nothing! That’s all I ever get from you, huh? How many times did I beg you for a name? How many times did I beg you to tell me anything about my dad? But you put me off. You hid Tom’s letters from me. You let me believe that maybe I could be a Spencer… all to keep me from learning the truth? It was right in front of me this whole time. And I see it now. When I look at Finn, I see my father looking back at me. How could you not see it too? Are Ridge and Eric giving Carter an ultimatum? -Thanks. -Uh, an olive branch. Another chance. Well, it’s time. My father’s starting to see cracks in Carter’s resolve. Yeah, well, Ridge isn’t wrong. Carter feels guilty. He has for a while. Well, Hope has always been able to counteract those feelings. To get what she wants. Carter’s beginning to see that. Do you think he can actually defy her this time? Je sais pas. But I do know that he misses your father’s friendship and Eric’s respect. He’s a decent man. Well, now he has a chance to prove how decent he really is. Yeah. But if I’m right, he will. All I hope is that he listens to his conscience and return the company to your family. I’m not going to put all the blame on Daphne. Carter let it happen. He’s drawn to her. Everyone is. I’m sorry, sweetheart. Your relationship seemed so strong. So where do things stand now between you and Carter? No one told me you were thinking about rejoining the company. We’ve been keeping a close eye on Forrester, Carter. Very impressive. -Steffy and Zende filled you in. -RIDGE: Mm-hmm. Okay, so… what is this? What are you getting at? We’re gonna give you one more chance. -One more chance? -We’re gonna give you one more chance to make things right, to give this company back to Dad, to Steffy, and to me. It kills me to think how different my life would be if I knew this growing up. My life would be so different. Tom and Hollis would still be alive, Steffy wouldn’t hate me. Oh. Oh, no. No, no, no, no, no. You took those men’s lives to protect yourself, not because you had some sort of… traumatic childhood? And what makes you think I was so desperate to protect myself, Mom? Because no one ever did. But Finn–Finn would have. [scoffs] You’re not answering me, Mom. Did you ever think that Tom Starr could be my father, or did you hide his letters because you knew he couldn’t be? Because you knew all along that Finn was my father. Say it! My entire life, you’ve been lying to me. Just give me the truth, Mom, for once in your life! The truth. [tense music plays] Carter will come through. Your family’s upset with him, but he’s not the enemy–Hope is. He did all that because he was enamored with her but now, not so much. Not after the kiss you and Carter shared. Mmm… [huffs] I still can’t get over it, that Daphne kissed Carter. It was a kiss. I’ve made similar mistakes in the past, but I am choosing to believe in our commitment. We love each other. And no one is going to change that. So you’re offering me a chance to take it all back. We’re offering you a chance to move forward… to get out of this, ’cause that’s what you want. How’d you know? ‘Cause I know you. We all know you. We’ve always known you until you got hooked up with Hope, saving her line… you lost your values and your integrity, and it’s taken a toll on you. We haven’t just been watching everything at Forrester. We’ve been keeping an eye on you too. I’m not gonna lie. I’ve been struggling. Well, some men will do whatever it takes to win. Thankfully, that’s not you. Well, I’m proud of what we accomplished here, Ridge. And I’m grateful you acknowledged that– the wisdom in my vision, the changes I’ve made here. Like I said, this is an opportunity for all of us. ERIC: The name on the building is Forrester. That’s also the name on every label on every item we make. This is our company. I need your word. Hope for the Future’s having a resurgence and must remain part of the lineup. [Ridge clears his throat] If Hope for the Future is on the upswing… we’d be foolish to drop it. I hate that it came to this. I hated taking the company from you, and the… the gains have been incredible, they have, but… …the victories have been hollow without you here. You’re right, Ridge. The old Carter’s still in there. You belong here, Carter. With us. Um… I-I don’t–I don’t know what to say. I’m sorry. I’m sorry I let this get out of hand. And I missed you both.
