[gasping] Li, please– [wheezing] Please, I can’t br– I can’t breathe. You slept with Finn. My son! [Li grunts] STEFFY: What are you doing? Put those cuffs back on her. -CHIEF BAKER: Afraid I can’t. -STEFFY: [whispers] What? Luna is a free woman. What are you talking about? She killed two people! -Just gonna walk free–what? -TAYLOR: This doesn’t even make sense–I don’t understand. There’s nothing else you can do? She’s just–she’s free to go? Absolutely right. Luna Nozawa… you are officially pardoned. [intense music plays] I hope you had a wonderful time, and we look forward to seeing you again. All right. Mmm. [chuckles] -What was that for? -I don’t know. Just looked a little lonely over here… within yourself. Yeah. Yeah, I guess I am. Still thinking about Poppy. You know, every time I see her, I can’t help but think of her daughter and what she did to Tom and Hollis. [Poppy gasping] Pl-please… [hoarsely] Li, you gotta let go. [mouthing] I can’t breathe. [softly] I can’t…breathe… -[Li groans] -I can’t…I can’t… -Oh! -[wheezing] -[coughing] -I knew -something was wrong with you. -[coughing, wheezing] I knew you were inclined to make the most deranged, selfish decisions! -[huffs] I never thought… -[coughs] …my son…your nephew… [hoarsely] I know how it looks but… [wheezing] but… there was nothing…sordid or dirty. [wheezing] Wh–how can you possibly say that? I’m disgusted… sickened by what you did to Finn. It’s tough, I know. We both miss…them so much, Tom and Hollis. I just–I can’t believe they’re gone. I mean, it’s just so damn unfair. Yeah. That’s because of Luna. If it weren’t for her, they’d both still be here. Wait, I’m really free, like not just on house arrest but… Being pardoned means you’re as free as anyone else in this room, relieved of the legal consequences. Wh-what? This is insane! You gotta do something! CHIEF BAKER: Believe me, I wish I could, but it’s outta my hands. They’re gonna be sending some paperwork over soon. Let’s go. Wait! No, you can’t just let her go. You’ve gotta fight this, keep her in custody! In custody for what? She’s been pardoned. For crimes committed in the past. But we all know what you’re capable of. If you slip up, hurt somebody else, you will be back in prison. And whoever’s looking out for you now surely won’t be foolish enough to do it again. I’m gonna keep an eye on you. A very close eye. You. You did this, didn’t you? RIDGE: Of course he did! Look at him! Who else can pull that kind of a favor–it had to be you. I’m just so thankful, I mean getting this second chance. I-I’m not gonna mess it up. I’m free! [laughs] Free. [heavy music plays] [coughing, wheezing] [hoarsely] You coulda killed me. I still could. You took advantage of my son. Finn was 18. He knew exactly what he was doing! You’re sick, Penelope! You’re sick! Well, you can think so, but the connection that Finn and I had wasn’t. We cared about each other. We still care about each other. Maybe you conned him into thinking there was aconnection. But I know what really happened. You used him. You used my son, and because of that, because ofyou, he has a daughter! His cousin–Luna! Luna who abducted his wife, killed those two men at Il Giardino. But babe, I don’t wanna… I don’t wanna hate on Poppy every time she comes in here, but I– But you do, because there’s something inside of you that doesn’t trust her. Absolutely not. She raised that monster. You know, look, nurture, nature, whatever you wanna call it– Poppy has to assume some blame in this. I guess. But you know what? If-if you’re talking nature, then Tom has something to do with this as well if you truly believe that DNA can dictate the way someone turns out. You know the thing that really blows me away, I mean just that I find absolutely gruesome is that Luna could kill Tom, her own father. Look, I realize that your wife can’t stand me and her parents can’t either, and I don’t blame them. But you, Finn, you’re my father. I-I’m your flesh and blood. Please just tell me that there’s a part of you, even the tiniest, but that’s happy I’m not going back to prison. God, Luna, stop being delusional! Finn despises you as much as the rest of us. There’s no way he doesn’t want you behind bars. And you will be. There’s no doubt. We will fight this absurd pardon relentlessly until you’re back where you belong. Yeah. Locked up. In prison. Yourcage. Yeah, I-I see the irony in that, and I understand why you guys would want me to rot in a confined space. But not you, Finn. Dad. If only I knew this growing up, everything would be so different. You know? All of the horrible things I did would have never happened because I would have had a good, stable, honorable presence in my life. TAYLOR: I see you think you can absolve your crimes by playing the traumatic childhood. -No one’s buying it. -LUNA: You don’t have to. None of you do. -Except my father. -STEFFY: Oh, my God. -[Ridge exhales] -STEFFY: Okay. This is-this is– Finn, tell her you want nothing to do with her. Out. All of you. Excuse me? This is my home, and I want you all gone. -Now. -RIDGE: You know what? This is gonna backfire on you. I don’t know when, I don’t know how, but it will. This is my daughter you’re putting in danger. This is the mother of your granddaughter. I don’t know what you’re gonna gain from this, but it’s something. You’re despicable! Stop…calling him…Dad. He isn’t that to you. He never will be. You’re not gonna be in our lives. We never wanna see your face again. [tense music plays] You probably feel more disdain for me than ever. Probably? After targeting my son? Yeah. That’s a given. He gave me a beautiful daughter at least. [scoffs] Ohh. A daughter you let get out of control. You raised a killer. [sniffles] Well… maybe she still has a chance at a decent life. I mean, you said she’s out of prison, right? Staying at Bill’s? That’s just like you… never having to actually face the consequences for her actions. Maybe she’ll just float through life, bouncing from one tragic situation to the next, oblivious to the real responsibility entails. Wouldn’t be surprised, considering who her mother is. The horrible human being her mother is. Get out of my life, Penelope. Never, ever come back. You are not my sister. [intense music plays] Hey, I understand how you feel. I mean, to think that Luna could kill her own father and then set her mother up for it, and what– what she did to her own cousin’s wife… Okay, look, I know that there is no love lost between myself and Steffy, but I… I never would have wished that upon her. I never thought I’d hear myself say this, but maybe some people really do deserve to be locked away in prison for the rest of their lives. And if anybody does… it’s Luna. What the hell was Bill thinking? -I wish I knew. -Well, it had to be him, right? -Arranging the pardon? -Well, who else could do it? Who’d want to–Poppy maybe, but she doesn’t have any influence over anybody. Now, this was Spencer. He unleashed this lunatic -back into our world. -Back into our lives. How could this be? How can Luna get away with everything she’s done? It was you, right? First you got me out of prison, saved my life, brought me here to your home. And as if that wasn’t enough I don’t know how, but you got me pardoned? It must have been you, right? I mean, nobody else would… even care or understand what I’ve been through and why I might deserve a second chance. It was you, right? A million reasons why I shouldn’t have. But yes. It was me. [soft music plays] STEFFY: Luna–free! Pardoned? I know. I– I can’t believe it either. Oh, my God. This is all because of Bill. Well, he didn’t admit it, but I mean, it was– No, this is him. He was stupid enough to bring Luna into his home under house arrest. He is definitely behind that pardon. Ugh! What is that man thinking? About his childhood, it sounds like, bonding over similar traumas? Yeah. I don’t for a second believe that Bill Spencer, Jr. suffered growing up. The same with Luna. You know, I don’t–I don’t even care if they wanna talk about their trauma– what about the trauma that Luna inflicted on Tom and Hollis a-and on me? And now she’s just out, free, walking around! You heard Baker, honey. I don’t– There’s nothing to be done about it. Well, there has to be a way to get her behind bars. And if there is, I will find it. Luna Nozawa– she’s going back to prison. This time for good. [uneasy music plays] God. Can’t stand Bill. No one can. Best thing to do is ignore him. Don’t give him any attention. His ignorance is causing our family pain. It puts us in danger. I don’t use the word hate lightly, but that’s how I feel. I hate Bill for what he’s done. Don’t make me regret this, Luna. I thought you already might be. The reactions you got from Steffy and her parents– -they lashed out at you. -Didn’t surprise me. I knew the wrath I’d be facing. But I did what I did. I gave you a second chance. Something I’ll forever be thankful to you for. I am just beyond grateful. You wanna show me your gratitude, Luna? Be the best version of yourself. Live your best life. What I said earlier about everyone leaving… Wait. You meant me too? You can’t stay here any longer. You need to go. Oh. Okay. Okay. I understand. But thank you, Bill. Truly. I mean, you have changed my life in so many ways and I’m forever indebted to you, and I’m gonna pay you back somehow. -It’s not necessary. -No, I will. I’m gonna find a way. Someday your kindness will be rewarded. I have a meeting. Be gone when I get back. STEFFY: Luna’s your daughter, and I-I’m really, really, Finn, trying to find way to… accept that, and part of me does believe I would have accepted it if I knew that Luna was in prison, she wasn’t a threat to us, she could no longer hurt us. But…but this? First Sheila and now Luna? Come on! I feel like we’re surrounded by psychos. Finn, you have to promise me something. -What? -Please do not make the same mistake you made with Sheila. You allowed yourself to be vulnerable to her. You gave her an opening, and I… I can’t go through that again, Finn, okay? Not this time. -Not with Luna. -No. -I know, I know, all right? -Okay? -Hey. -Just promise me. I know. Oh, God, I’m just so– Oh, I’m so furious with Bill. None of this would have happened if he hadn’t interfered. We wouldn’t have to worry about Luna. She wouldn’t have been an issue for us. She would have been locked up, and now because of Bill’s immense stupidity, she’s out! She’s out. She’s free. And not only is she out– she called you Dad. And she called you Dad more than once, so that obviously means that she wants a relationship with you. That can’t happen, Finn. Tell me you understand that. [edgy music plays] This is so crazy, looking at you now after all these years. My father. [crying]My father. I finally found you. [sniffling] I’m not gonna lose you now. STEFFY: Finn, you really need to take the lead on this– getting Luna locked up. Justice needs to be served. I need you to do everything in your power to make sure she goes back to prison and she stays there. For life, Finn. I know. I know.
