Sharon: Chance, you look great. How are you feeling?

Chance: I’m feeling great. Feeling great. Pain’s minimal. I’m sleeping through the night. I’m good as new.

Sharon: Wow.

Chance: And look at you. You’ve got a little extra pep in your step this morning.

Sharon: I do. Well, everything is coming together with the new and improved kirsten incorporated and the launch is coming up soon.

Chance: You’re keeping that name?

Sharon: Of course, I wanted to change it, but at first, it was S.N.A. And then adam was out. So, it was just S.N. And now, it’s only me. So, I guess I’m just left with what? S? I don’t know if that works.

Chance: Yeah, you know, easy to pronounce. Just not that catchy.

Sharon: Well, maybe you can help me brainstorm something.

Chance: I would absolutely love to. That’s very exciting. Congrats. You know what? I actually have some very good news of my own.

Sharon: You do?

Chance: Yeah. I’ve made a decision about my future.

Kyle: So, now that I’m coo, how exactly do you plan to take advantage of my new inside position?

Tucker: I thought you’d never ask.

Jack: Still, I would like to shave another five percent off these east coast warehouse costs.

Billy: Believe me, jack, I would too, but five percent seems aggressive. Two seems a little more reasonable.

Jack: Hey, welcome back to jabot world headquarters.

Billy: Any news on the electrical issue at the building, mr. Coo?

Kyle: It should be taken care of before lunch. We’ll be back in the office before the end of the day.

Jack: Hey, that’s great. You know, I kind of like this. All of us working here together. Oh, I gotta take this guys. But, uh, let’s talk when I’m done.

Billy: Sure.

Jack: Susan, thanks for getting back to me. Yeah.

Billy: First day on the new job and you’re only showing up now.

Kyle: I was here earlier. I actually live here.

Billy: Yeah. Where’d you go? What’s more important than your new job?

Devon: Listen, one thing that I know for sure is that I don’t want to play games with tucker. I don’t want to pretend that everything’s okay between him and me. Deceiving people is what he does. It’s not what I do. And if we ever do reconnect, it’s gotta be real.

Ashley: I’m not asking you to pretend. I know that you’re a man of integrity, makes you the perfect partner for my daughter. Although I have to admit, when it comes to people like tucker, fighting fire with fire sometimes seems like the only recourse.

Devon: Yeah. But you know how he operates. He earns your trust to betray it.

Ashley: I know. He’s very angry and he’s taking it out on chancellor and jabot and I just thought that if you– if you reconnected with him, it would get him to back off.

Devon: You think he would back off and he would calm down and leave our companies alone?

Ashley: Ah. Something like that. Would you at least consider forgiving him?

Tucker: Hey.

Audra: Hi.

Tucker: So, I just saw your boyfriend.

Audra: Hm. Which one?

Tucker: Kyle.

Audra: And?

Tucker: He asked a lot of questions.

Audra: So, he just wants to be clear on the assignment.

Tucker: No, that’s not it. I mean, yes, of course, he could be nervous and unsure of himself, but he’s always struck me as a little cocky. Self-doubt is not his thing.

Audra: Then what?

Tucker: He’s got a plan of his own.

Audra: What kind of plan, tucker?

Tucker: He’s gathering information, just as I suspected. So, what more do you need to see that he cannot be trusted? You’ll find them in cities, towns and suburbs all across america. Audra: Look, I think you’re wrong, tucker. I’ve seen the look in kyle’s eyes. I can tell when he wants something and he wants this, badly.

Tucker: What he wants is his daddy’s approval. Nothing more. And to capture the abbott white whale, me. Also to push billy out of the chair he thinks rightfully should be his.

Audra: Okay. Well, if you’re right–

Tucker: I’m right.

Audra: All right then. If you really feel that way, what are we doing here? How is this plan gonna work?

Tucker: We’re gonna use the knowledge to our advantage. He’s so desperate for his dad’s approval, he’ll be easier to manipulate.

Audra: I’m warning you, tucker, you’re underestimating kyle.

Tucker: You know what? Someone should tell him that about me. Why do you keep sticking up for him and justifying him? Audra, please don’t tell me you’re falling for this guy.

Kyle: I wasn’t here because I had to deal with the electrical issue.

Billy: Oh, yeah. Were you up on the ladder with a voltage meter trying to get the lights turned back on?

Kyle: No, not exactly, but why do you care, billy?

Billy: Why do I care? I– I– I find it odd that you would, you know, be late on your first day back at jabot.

Kyle: Well, I didn’t realize I was still interviewing for the job.

Billy: Kyle, you were so contrite with jack, insisting that this miraculous turnaround was real. You know, brimming with enthusiasm to be back at jabot. And no, it’s not in the position that you actually wanted, but it’s a family company and now you’re late on your first day.

Kyle: Okay. I had errands to run this morning. I had to step out.

Billy: Must have been important.

Kyle: Yeah, they were.

Billy: Yeah, you want to share with me?

Kyle: You still don’t trust me, do you, billy? You don’t believe that I am happy coming back to the company as coo. Is that it?

Billy: Trust me, kyle. I don’t want to doubt you. Okay? But with all the co-ceo or nothing talk, I’m finding a hard time trusting that this is sincere.

Kyle: Okay. So, what is it? You think I’m secretly gunning for your job, that I have some master plan to oust you from the executive suite?

Billy: No, but you had a very fast turnaround. That’s all I’m saying.

Kyle: I came to my senses. I realized the coo job was perfect for me and I took it. So, what exactly is so suspicious about that?

Billy: That’s a good question. Why don’t you tell me? Kyle, I’m pretty good at reading people. Right now, by gut is telling me that something’s not right.

Kyle: What does that even mean? What, you’re gonna watch my every move? Make me punch a time card? Follow me as I run my errands?

Billy: What it means is now is probably a really good time to rethink your priorities.

Devon: Ashley, I’m sorry, but I’m not ready to forgive tucker and I don’t want to fake it.

Ashley: I understand. You’re very hurt and you’re angry.

Devon: Well, I know we’re all angry at tucker. And I know that we’re both concerned about what he’s gonna do to our companies, but I don’t want to just pretend that everything’s okay between us to find out.

Abby: Look, none of us want tucker to do more damage to the people that we care about, so maybe if you can convince tucker that you forgive him, then maybe he’ll forgive my mom. Not that you need forgiving.

Ashley: Thank you, honey.

Abby: Maybe we can stop this destruction that he’s planning.

Devon: I get all that. I know what the plan would be. But like you said, it has to be sincere for him to buy it. And it won’t be because I can’t just pretend to feel something that I don’t really feel.

Ashley: I hear you. It’s okay. I’m just gonna have to give more thought as to what to do next. Thanks for meeting me.

Devon: Of course. I’m sorry.

Abby: Love you.

Ashley: Bye, honey.

Abby: Bye.

Ashley: See you guys.

Devon: See you.

Abby: You are such a good man. You’re so kind and loving. Those are just a few things that I love about you. But when it comes to tucker, I’m starting to think that my mom is right. I think we need to fight fire with fire.

Sharon: Okay. Well, don’t keep me in suspense. Tell me what you’ve decided.

Chance: Well, I’m gonna leave the gcpd.

Sharon: Wow.

Chance: Mm-hmm. I think I’m gonna leave law enforcement altogether. I think it’s time to refocus and do something else.

Sharon: You’re a great police officer. The best. But, I can’t say that I’m disappointed with what you’ve decided you want to do. I mean, after you got shot…

Chance: Yeah, I know that shook everybody up pretty badly.

Sharon: Especially your mom, I think. It sounds like she’s been through a lot with you.

Chance: I know. You know, she’s wanted me to quit for years. She’s wanted me to get a nice, safe, normal job. So, I don’t think I can keep putting her through this.

Sharon: She knows you can only cheat death so many times.

Chance: Well, it’s not just that. I– I think it’s more about how my job affects the people that I care about the most. How many times can I put everyone through the same ordeal over and over again? It’s not fair to my parents. It’s not fair to dominic, especially as he gets older. It’s not fair to you. That’s why I think getting shot, again, it was a wake-up call. It’s time for a change. (Hamlet) it’s beggin’!

Sharon: All of us who care about you know exactly what we signed up for. A little extra dose of anxiety here and there, an occasional sleepless night. But we’re also full of pride and admiration. You keep our city safe, chance. You make it a better place. Are you sure this is what you want?

Chance: It is. Yeah.

Sharon: Have you told nina?

Chance: Oh, no, no, no. Not yet. She had to go back to L.A. For a meeting, so. She’s coming back in a few days. I’ll tell her then.

Sharon: So, are you going to resign right away? Today?

Chance: Well, I gotta go to the station and tell the appropriate people, you know. I wanna make sure I offer some help so they can find a replacement. I– I– I can’t just walk away like that, you know. I wanna make sure they’re in good hands before I go.

Sharon: Well, I would expect nothing less. And then what?

Chance: Well, spending time with you was pretty high on my list.

Sharon: That sounds fantastic, but you know what I meant? What is your next move career-wise? Are you gonna go into private security or have you been considering what jill said?

Chance: It’s been on my mind.

Sharon: So, you’re really thinking about going into the high stakes corporate world?

Devon: I appreciate what you’re saying about me, okay? I do. But I made it very clear where I stand after I found out that tucker was lying about his connection to mamie. I told him I didn’t want him anywhere near me. Which means I don’t want him anywhere near you or dominic.

Abby: But what if he’s plotting against your family’s company and my family’s company? Shouldn’t we do whatever it takes to stop him?

Devon: What are we gonna do if he doesn’t believe me? He’s not stupid. I told him I want him to stay away from me and my family. He’s not gonna believe that I just had a change of heart overnight.

Abby: What if tucker reaches out to you?

Devon: He’s not gonna do that.

Abby: You don’t know that. What if tucker makes the first move? Couldn’t you at least be receptive?

Devon: Yeah. Sure I could. For the family’s sake. But he’s not gonna come running to me begging for forgiveness.

Abby: I’m not so sure.

Audra: You know, do we need to go over this again? You sense something or whatever, but you’re wrong. Okay? I’m no more smitten with kyle than I was the first time you brought it up. We just have fun. We work well together and that’s it. There’s no, there, there. There’s no substance. No love story.

Tucker: If you say so.

Audra: I got my eyes on the prize. Like always.

Tucker: I’m glad to hear it. It’s in my mind because he’s just a haircut. He’s a tool we can use and throw away.

Audra: Okay, wait. Why can’t kyle run jabot alongside me after we seized it? He knows the company inside and and out. It makes good sense to keep him around.

Tucker: Because you’re capable enough to get the inside scoop on your own.

Audra: You know, I’m starting to worry that your need for revenge is clouding your usually excellent judgment.

Tucker: No.

Audra: You know, combine that with a dash of overconfidence and I think we have a recipe for failure.

Tucker: No, ma’am. I am seeing a world with extreme clarity. I am as cool-headed as ever. You’re the one that seems to be second-guessing everything. Do I need to worry about you?

Audra: No, I’m good. You don’t need to worry about me. I’m like a cat.

[ Audra hissing ]

[ Tucker chuckling ] I will always land on my feet.

Tucker: What does that– what does that mean? I mean, in human terms?

Audra: It means I will always land on the side of success, wherever that may be. And if it starts to look like your little obsession is getting in the way of my success, I’ll jump ship.

Tucker: Will you?

Audra: In a heartbeat.

Tucker: Yes. That’s very cold-blooded of you.

Audra: Just how you taught me. Look, I make my own choices and I choose success.

Kyle: You think you have me all figured out, but let me assure you, you couldn’t be more wrong.

Billy: Glad to hear that. Because trust me, kyle, I would really like to be wrong.

Kyle: And I may not be the poker player you are, but I am an exceptional people reader myself.

Billy: Good for you.

Kyle: It could be an abbott thing, I guess. You know, I can figure out people’s motivations, sometimes before they even can. And billy, your insecurity’s showing. A man who’s constantly looking over his shoulder, worrying about what other people are doing. He feels like a fraud, an imposter. That’s not a man that should have a position of power. Summer. What are you still doing here?

Summer: Uh, you know that I’m working here today. Where have you been?

Kyle: Why is everyone asking where I was? I told myself I was ok

Summer: Wow, you’re this stressed on your first day. It’s not a good sign.

Kyle: Summer, I’m sorry. It’s just some family drama, you know how it is.

Billy: I– I understand all that, but the deadline was last week, so I’m gonna need a better explanation.

Summer: Family drama with billy?

Kyle: Yeah. Who else?

Summer: I don’t know. In this family, it could be any number of people.

Kyle: Right now, it’s all about billy.

Summer: Do you wanna tell me what’s going on?

Kyle: My uncle refuses to give me the benefit of the doubt. He’s convinced that no matter what I say, I want his job and I am carrying out some underhanded scheme to get it.

Summer: Well?

Kyle: Well what?

Summer: I mean is– is he wrong?

Kyle: What? You’re on billy’s side now?

Summer: Kyle, come on. You hate that billy is in the co-ceo spot and you’ve been pretty vocal about it. So, what are you telling me? That you’ve suddenly changed your mind?

Tucker: So, if you feel this isn’t working out, you’re gonna jump ship? To what exactly? Kyle abbott? Good luck with that.

Audra: Again, you’re underestimating kyle.

Tucker: No, audra. Kyle is– he’s– he’s not the rogue that you make him out to be. He’s just a daddy’s boy. Oddly enough, he’s a mama’s boy too. He doesn’t fool me for a second. And I’m just mystified as to why he continues to fool you. I’m the only one who can… anyway, it’s time to start trusting me again.

Audra: Okay.

[ Audra chuckling ]

[ Audra sighing ]

Tucker: What?

Audra: Now, who’s really being fooled here? What makes you think I ever truly trusted you?

Tucker: Hm. Yeah, that’s fair enough. I guess trust has always been a delicate balancing act between the two of us, hasn’t it? It’s a fine line between trust and total distrust. It’s kind of like– kind of like loving and hating someone simultaneously.

Audra: Yeah. Well, I’ve never loved or hated you, tucker.

Tucker: Really? Because I…

Audra: You what?

Tucker: Well, like I said, it’s complicated. We are complicated.

Audra: Yes, we are. Known for following your dreams. For almost 100 years, harry and david has been making gourmet gifts to share with loved ones near and far. Because giving is about more than a day on the calendar. We believe the world would be a better place if we all shared more. Harry and david. Life is a gift, share more. (Vo) get in the holiday spirit

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue

Devon: Listen, tucker can try and make things right with me all he wants, but I’m not interested.

Abby: So, reconciliation is just off the table?

Devon: Well, we’re not talking about reconciliation. We’re talking about faking it. And I don’t want to do that just so your mom can find out what he has in store for jabot.

Abby: And what he has in store for chancellor-winters.

Devon: Jill, lily and I can handle him when it comes to that. I’m not worried.

Abby: Look, devon, I get where you’re coming from. But all of the confidence in the world is not going to erase my concern for whatever tucker is planning, okay? Yes, you and your sister and jill, you’re a formidable team, but I do not trust tucker to play fair. And whatever he’s planning for chancellor-winters, if he pulls it off, it’s going to affect you. And in the long term, it will affect dominic.

Devon: Okay. So, what are you saying?

Abby: Look, I know that you want to take the high road. You want to keep everything above board, but I will fight for my family. I would like to do it honorably, but if I have to get down and dirty, I will. I won’t walk away. I’ll do what needs to be done.

Tucker: Hey, ashley.

Ashley: Hey tucker.

Tucker: I guess we’re gonna have to get used to this, huh?

Ashley: Well, yeah, it’s a small town. We go to to the same places, so we’re bound to run into each other.

Tucker: Well, luckily, I’m pretty good at being polite.

Ashley: Why are you being so hostile towards me? We just saw each other yesterday. I proposed that you take over glacade and you were very amenable, at least then.

Tucker: Well, you know me. I’m mercurial. That’s what the business press refers to me as. Mercurial tycoon changes course. Mercurial mogul has a change of heart and all that.

Ashley: You are the most interesting man alive and clearly you believe your own press.

Tucker: Yeah. I don’t know what to believe anymore. I’ll see you.

Ashley: Excuse me. Excuse me. So, really, what– what happened? I gave you that opportunity to take over the company and you jumped at it. And now, you’re just acting like an ass. What changed?

Kyle: My change of heart isn’t so abrupt. I’ve been thinking about it for a while.

Summer: Okay.

Kyle: I was having a hard time accepting billy as co-ceo, but I’m over it. For the good of the family.

Summer: So, you have accepted billy and the job. And you– you’re happy with coo because all you want to do is work with your father and be a part of the family legacy, no matter the position.

Kyle: Exactly. Look, I’m not working an angle. I gave up being co-ceo and I accept that I can’t have it back just because I want it.

Summer: Wait. Do you regret stepping down to run marchetti?

Kyle: I do. Look, I’m sorry. And I know it’s hard to hear, but maybe I wouldn’t have to be restarting my career if I had stayed where I belong in the first place.

Summer: Yeah, but you didn’t have any way of knowing how things would turn out. Professionally, personally.

Kyle: Yeah. True.

Summer: Does your regret go back even further than that? Because I think that mine might.

Kyle: What do you mean?

Summer: I don’t know if we– if we had never come back from milan, if we had never brought marchetti under the jabot umbrella. I mean, would we still be together? We were happy in italy, right? Is it possible that coming home to genoa city was the beginning of the end for us? To 50 years with my best friend and my soulmate.

Kyle: Do I think about what might have been? What could have happened if we never left milan where things were just different?

Summer: Yeah.

Kyle: Yeah. I– I– I try not to think like that, summer. You can go down a deep, dark hole if you think about what could have been. What if?

Summer: Yeah. I don’t really think about it either. It just sort of occurred to me right now.

Jack: Summer. I didn’t know you were here.

Summer: Yeah. I’ve been working from the upstairs study.

Jack: Oh, good choice. You got a minute to go over a few things?

Kyle: Mm. Absolutely.

Jack: All right. Follow me. Oh, and could you grab my laptop?

Kyle: Everything would have been different if we didn’t come back. But we did. We can’t change what happened after that.

[ Knock on door ]

Chelsea: Hi. You ready for me? Summer? Are you okay?

Summer: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Of course, yes. Sorry, I just have a lot on my mind.

Chelsea: Well, I got the sketches back, based on your notes. You want to take a look at them?

Summer: Yes. Yeah. Um, could we just not do it here, actually?

Devon: Babe. Listen, tucker’s not somebody you wanna mess with.

Abby: Neither am I.

Devon: I know that and I love you for it and I know that you– you probably could go head to head with tucker.

Abby: Damn right, I could. I have.

Devon: I– I’ve seen you do it. I know.

Abby: Look, I’m not just gonna sit around and wait for tucker’s next move.

Devon: What are you gonna do then?

Abby: Nothing at the moment, but, you know, you should give me a role at chancellor-winters. Hell, put me on the board.

Devon: Put you on the board? I don’t know if I can do that.

Abby: Of course you can do that. This is the kind of move we need to make to show tucker that I’m in this fight too.

Tucker: You know, the hardest part about what happened in paris? The most painful? Realizing you still love someone you can no longer trust. I guess love takes longer to fade.

Ashley: How come I feel like you’re still blaming me for what happened? You take no responsibility at all.

Tucker: I said I was sorry.

Ashley: I said I was sorry.

Tucker: And yet, here we are. It seems like nothing has changed. Thank you.

Ashley: I saw devon.

Tucker: Okay.

Ashley: And, uh, I talked to him about, you know, your relationship with him and, uh, how he’s feeling emotionally and everything.

Tucker: And?

Ashley: It’s not good.

Tucker: So bad that you don’t think you’ll be able to help us make peace.

Chance: I can’t even believe that I’m even considering going to work for the family business.

Sharon: It is your legacy. Your grandfather’s company. Now, half of chancellor-winters with your grandmother in charge.

Chance: Yeah. But growing up, I was just, I was more than disinterested. You know, I almost opposed the idea of doing it. And here we are now.

Sharon: Think it was a calling.

Chance: Mm. Maybe. Maybe, it was katherine’s voice, you know, whispering in my ear, telling me what to do. You know when my grandfather died, she stepped into the business, she didn’t know anything about it, but she made that place a huge success.

Sharon: That she did.

Chance: I’ll figure it out. I’m not too worried about it. Right now, I need to find a way to step down from the department without causing any kind of disruptions.

Sharon: Well, I think this is cause for a celebration.

Chance: What? Celebration for– for leaving a job? I– I don’t think that’s how it works.

Sharon: No, you have to do something special to mark the occasion of this big decision of yours. Your new life.

Chance: Yeah, that sounds great and all, but I think I am much more interested in celebrating you. Now, you are on the verge of something just as huge and life-changing.

Chelsea: Oh. Hi, sharon. Hey, chance.

Chance: Hey.

Summer: Hi.

Chance: Hi. Good to see you two. Um, I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be rude. I, uh, I gotta get to the station. I still have a job ’til I don’t, right?

Summer: Wait, does that mean?

Chance: Yeah. Yeah, I’m stepping down.

Summer: Oh, my gosh, chance. That’s– that’s huge. But I mean it must feel good to have made a decision. I know it’s been weighing on you.

Chance: A little bit, yeah. I still have some reservations about it, but I think it was the right choice. And you know what? I have to thank you for being such a good friend and you know, talking me through everything. So, thank you.

Summer: Of course, anytime.

Chance: Well, uh, I’ll see you all around.

Chelsea: Bye.

Febreze

Summer: Chelsea, these are great. I mean, honestly, such an improvement. You– you took my notes and you translated them for the design team really well.

Chelsea: Well, thank you. And you know chloe was a huge part of the process, so she deserves a lot of the credit.

Summer: Yeah. I am very appreciative that chloe stepped in when you had to work remotely to be with connor. She was an asset and I’m sorry she didn’t feel like we could all work together, but I get it. I’m a kind of a demanding boss, I guess.

Chelsea: Well, demanding in a good way. Really. You want everyone to do their best. You want what’s best for marchetti. And chloe, listen, I’m allowed to say this because she’s my best friend. She’s so smart. She’s incredibly talented, but she doesn’t like being told what to do. Oh, gosh, but I am gonna miss working with her.

Summer: I am too. I really am. And gosh, this year has been filled with upheaval and I would, um, I’d be happy with the status quo for a little while, honestly.

Chelsea: Mm. So, how’s your status quo?

Summer: Professionally, it’s– it’s pretty good, right? Personally, kind of a mess.

Chelsea: Kyle?

Summer: Our divorce is in progress.

Chelsea: Summer, I’m so sorry. The last time we spoke about personal stuff, you said that you were at peace with the end of the marriage and you were focusing on moving forward.

Summer: It’s still hard.

Chelsea: I get it. Correct me if I’m wrong, but you and kyle had some really wonderful memories. Some beautiful moments. And I’m sure you wouldn’t trade those in even if you knew how things were going to end.

Summer: True.

Chelsea: And you have harrison. I mean, you have your son. I know he’s your whole world.

Summer: Yeah, he really, really is.

Chelsea: So, there you have it. The good outweighs the bad. You just have to think of it that way.

Summer: Mm. Okay, I like that. You’ve been through this before, haven’t you?

Chelsea: Sadly, I have. Divorce is a very long, very rough road. I’m not denying that. But you just have to focus on all the wonderful things happening right now and all of the wonderful things that are going to happen. Speaking of which, um, I saw you talking to chance earlier.

Summer: Yeah?

Chelsea: Yeah, you had this expression on your face. And then a certain look on your face when he left. Um… is that something you would pursue? Are you interested in chance?

Summer: No, no. Okay.

[ Summer sighing ] I do like him. He’s been a really good friend to me, especially when my mom was gone. But it doesn’t matter because um, he’s seeing sharon. And I don’t want to interfere.

Chelsea: Are sharon and chance serious?

Summer: Okay. Why is everybody asking me that question? It’s so weird. I don’t know how serious they are, but they are in some kind of a relationship and I just don’t want to be the other woman.

Chelsea: Mm. Okay. Just answer me this. If things could work out, whichever way you wanted them to, what would that look like?

Jack: All that is to say, I am over the moon about having you back at jabot.

Kyle: Well, I’m excited too, dad.

Jack: You know, I think you should spend today getting caught up and then once we’re back in the building, get with your assistant and decide what projects you want to get involved with. We have a number of new products in the pipeline and I think your considerable expertise in marketing could come in real handy. I’d love to know your thoughts.

Kyle: That’s not really my area. Marketing is a long way from operations.

Jack: Well, I know that, but we still want your input. This is what I always wanted. Working side by side with my son. Just like I worked by your grandfather.

Kyle: This isn’t my first stint in the jabot executive suite, dad.

Jack: Well, I know that, but this seems different. Like it’s, well, like you’re here to stay.

Kyle: And I wouldn’t say I’m working by your side.

Jack: What do you mean?

Kyle: I’d have to call it one step removed. I’m down a rung or two.

Jack: Look, I know that’s a sore spot with you.

Kyle: Yeah. Not exactly. I mean, I’ve accepted that I don’t have to be co-ceo to make a significant impact at the family company.

Jack: Good. I’m glad to hear that. Look, this coo position is a key position. I have all the faith in the world in you and trust that you are going to give jabot your very best.

[ Phone ringing ]

Kyle: Yes.

Audra: I need to see you right away. In my suite.

Kyle: It can’t wait?

Audra: No, come here now.

Kyle: I’ll see you soon.

Ashley: I’m not going to give up on trying to mend your relationship with devon. It’s just gonna be more difficult than I thought to get him to forgive you, so you’re gonna have to work a little harder.

Tucker: I still don’t know why you care.

Ashley: We’ve been over this. Because of our grandson, because of dominic. And frankly, you’re a much nicer person when devon is in your life.

Tucker: I think this– the rift between devon and me is more business than personal. I think he’s– he’s concerned about chancellor-winters and my investment with mamie. You know the…

Ashley: Well, I think we both know that business and personal interests are never really completely separate. You and I are a shining example of that, aren’t we? I will help you get your relationship with devon back on track. I know how hard you worked. And you were in a good place and I know how much it means to you to spend time with dominic, so.

Tucker: It does mean a lot to me. I appreciate your intention.

Ashley: Look at us being civil.

Tucker: Hooray for us.

Ashley: It wasn’t too terrible.

Tucker: Yeah. We’ll see. See you later.

Ashley: Okay, bye.

Announcer: Next week on the young and the restless…

Jill: Would you be willing to step away from jabot and come work with me at chancellor-winters?

Cole: I don’t believe that this was a con on claire’s part. She’s convinced we’re her parents.

Victoria: But, it’s just– it’s not possible though, is it?
