Billy: So, how was new york?

Jack: New york was illuminating and not in a good way.

Billy: What does that mean?

Jack: Ashley and tucker are planning on taking her assets and her patents out of jabot.

Diane: Can they even do that?

Jack: Legal has said that there are loopholes within our merger agreement that allow her to take everything if she can show cause.

Billy: She doesn’t have cause, so good luck with that.

Jack: Don’t be so sure of that.

Diane: What’s the problem?

Jack: She’s planning on using your past to build her case.

Tucker: Hello!

Ashley: Hi!

Tucker: Hello! Hello!

Abby: Hi!

Devon: How are you? You look beautiful.

Ashley: You look gorgeous.

Abby: Hi, how are you?

Tucker: I know we said that were only gonna stay for a few minutes, but we brought gifts.

Ashley: We brought gifts.

Devon: Gifts.

Tucker: Consider them housewarming gifts.

Abby: Thank you so much.

Devon: You two really did not have to do that.

Ashley: We wanted to help celebrate your new home.

Tucker: My mothers’ home and the joy you’ve brought to it.

Abby: Well, that is very sweet. Thank you.

Devon: It is.

Ashley: Yeah.

Abby: You look happy.

Ashley: I am happy. I’m happy, yeah. Very happy.

Abby: You work things out with uncle jack?

Ashley: No, I wish. I wish. But I think diane has poisoned his mind to the point where I don’t even recognize my brother anymore.

Abby: I’m sorry.

Ashley: I know, but let’s not let them spoil this, okay?

Tucker: No.

Ashley: Because things are finally falling into place for me and my future.

Phyllis: Hey. Heather, hi.

Heather: Hi.

Phyllis: Okay, so, tell me. Were you able to, um, convince christine to drop the charges?

Heather: No.

Phyllis: Are you serious? Even though we have a statement from carson that I killed jeremy stark in self-defense?

Heather: She wouldn’t budge.

Phyllis: I have an eyewitness.

Heather: I understand. Christine somehow thinks you convinced carson to say what you needed him to say–

Phyllis: Oh, that’s ridiculous! Seriously?

Heather: She’s not buying your story, phyllis. She wants to take this to trial.

Phyllis: I’m sure she does. You know why? Because she’s obsessed with me. She’s obsessed with bringing me down.

Heather: I don’t think it’s personal this time

Phyllis: Oh, really? Oh, it’s not personal? She’s hated me for decades.

Heather: Okay. Take a breath. She’ll still need to convince a jury beyond a reasonable doubt.

Phyllis: Which she can’t do, right? She can’t do. I mean, obviously I’m innocent. I mean, we have a statement from carson.

Heather: That’s– that’s the hope and the plan.

Phyllis: Okay. Good. So, I mean, I don’t want to take my chances for carson to, I don’t know, maybe change his mind and mess this up for me.

Heather: Do you think that he might?

Phyllis: I don’t know. I don’t know. I– shouldn’t we… shouldn’t we be putting him in protective custody or something like that so no one can get a hold of him and make him recant his testimony.

Heather: Why would anyone want to do that?

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Billy: I’m not surprised that ashley’s making this play. She absolutely despises diane. No offense.

Diane: None taken.

Billy: Look, jack, I’m just gonna say it, okay? And I’ve already told diane that I think this is the right play. We have her step down from jabot.

Jack: No. Absolutely not.

Billy: Just hear me out for a second, okay? Diane is not in the picture, we take away any ammunition that ashley has to come after us. She’s got nothing else.

Jack: The answer is still no.

Billy: Jack–

Jack: We are not going to cave to ashley. I’m not going to do it. She has worked too hard for her position in this company. She deserves it. And I’m not taking it away from her because of our sister’s irrational vendetta.

Billy: So, we’re heading to war. You understand that?

Jack: If it has to be. And we will win that war.

Billy: Well, I wouldn’t be so sure about that, okay? I’ve never seen ashley this driven, this determined. If we underestimate her and her vendetta, that right there could be the worst thing we could do. It could end up bringing us all down.

Abby: So, when you said everything is going your way, were you referring to tucker?

Ashley: He’s a big part of it, yeah.

Abby: So you really think it’s worth the risk? That you can actually trust him?

Ashley: I do.

Abby: Mom, I really, really want to be happy for you–

Ashley: But you don’t believe it.

Abby: Can you blame me?

Ashley: I don’t blame you one bit. You know I’ve had doubts, right? But I’ve realized that tucker has a past. I have a past. We’ve both come into this relationship with a huge set of baggage. And I just, uh, I just realized that, um, I don’t want to be so afraid of getting hurt again that I don’t give love one more chance, abby. He makes me happy. In fact, we have an announcement we want to make.

[ Devon indistinct chattering ]

Tucker: Okay. A toast! A toast! Here you are. Um… to devon and abby, wishing you both a lifetime of happiness in this house, my mother’s house. Devon, seeing you here so happy and settled, it’s just… it’s more than a dad could wish for. And… I know that I have not, uh… I’ve not been the father, or a father even, that you deserve or needed, but, uh… I’m going to try to spend the rest of my days making up for that ’cause that’s what– what katherine would expect of me and this is what you deserve. You’re a good son. And better than I could have ever hoped for. So– and I know that you’re equally proud of abby.

Ashley: Yeah, a little bit.

Tucker: Beautiful family there that you’ve created, so that’s it. To new beginnings. To… life, love, joy and laughter.

Ashley: Beautiful.

Abby: Cheers. That was so nice. Thank you.

Ashley: That was beautiful honey.

Heather: What are you getting at, phyllis?

Phyllis: I’m just thinking out loud, that’s all. I mean, in the hypothetical. I don’t trust christine and I wouldn’t put anything past her, that’s all.

Heather: That’s all?

Phyllis: That is enough.

Heather: Okay, christine may not like you, but she’s not about to coerce a witness into lying just to stick it to you, if that’s what you’re worried about.

Phyllis: Oh, really? She’s not? Oh. You don’t know her dark side, heather. I do.

Heather: Mm-hmm. What’s going on?

Phyllis: Uh, nothing. What do you mean what’s going on? I told you.

Heather: I don’t– I don’t believe that this is about christine not liking you. I think there’s– there’s more going on here, isn’t there? Something that you’re holding back.

Phyllis: I have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.

Heather: Michael warned me about this. Daniel warned me about this too. Phyllis, I need your complete honesty or I cannot do my job.

Phyllis: I am being honest with you.

Heather: I don’t believe that. I think you’re spinning your way out of something. Phyllis, anything you tell me falls under attorney-client privilege. Do you understand that? But if I walk into that courtroom where some other shoe might drop, I cannot defend you properly and I hate surprises. So, I’m going to ask you one last time, okay? Either come clean with me now or you’re going to have to find yourself another attorney.

Phyllis: Okay. Tucker mccall has me under his thumb and I can’t get out.

Heather: Okay. What do you– what do you mean under his thumb?

Phyllis: Tucker found carson, my only witness, and convinced him to come here and testify on my behalf. He’s holding the strings. He quite literally has my life in his hands.

Heather: Okay. Okay. I’m not just accomplished.

Ashley: So honey, what’s it like being back here?

Abby: Oh, um, it’s fine.

Ashley: Yeah?

Abby: Yeah. It’s great, actually.

Ashley: Oh. I don’t know. Wouldn’t it be a little bit awkward for you being back in the same house you were in when you were married to chance. I’d be having flashbacks.

Abby: Well, I haven’t had any of those, but–

Ashley: What?

Abby: I do feel a little guilty sometimes.

Ashley: What do you feel guilty about?

Abby: It’s just– waking up here now, like being here with devon and dominic, it just– it feels perfect. This is the life that I always wanted and I thought that I was going to have it with chance, but I guess it just wants supposed to happen that way. And that’s when the guilt creeps in.

Ashley: You don’t have any reason to feel guilty about that.

Abby: Spoken like a mom.

Ashley: Well, maybe a bit spoken like a mom, but why do you feel guilty exactly? Tell me.

Abby: Because I wanted a home. I wanted a family and I think that I tricked myself and chance into thinking that that was our happily ever after. Even though deep inside, I knew it wasn’T. But being here and waking up here every day, I mean, I just feel like I am in the right place at the right time and it feels perfect.

Ashley: Oh, honey. I want you to feel that way always.

Abby: Well, I am dying to know your news. What is it?

Devon: Hey, are those rumors that I’m hearing true?

Tucker: What rumors?

Devon: That you and ashley are gonna take her portion of jabot and start your own company?

Tucker: I don’t want to talk about business tonight. Let’s just stick to the personal news we came for. Hey, should we tell them?

Ashley: Yeah.

Tucker: You want to?

Ashley: No, you do it. You do it.

Tucker: Okay. So, well, we told you before on several occasions that we are getting married, but the news is we’re getting married in a couple of weeks.

Devon: Wow.

Tucker: So… yeah, it’s going to be a– just a small affair.

Ashley: Yeah. Small.

Tucker: Immediate family. A few close friends. We don’t know about the venue yet, but… okay. Who wants more champagne?

Ashley: I do. Keep it going. Thank you.

Heather: How long has tucker been blackmailing you? Did michael know about this? Why would you keep this from me?

[ Heather sighing ]

Phyllis: Listen, tucker was able to track down carson before any of michael’s people. And he wasted zero time in– in just trapping me into a corner.

Heather: Did you know about this when I told you that carson had come forward? Phyllis? Damn it, phyllis!

Phyllis: Okay, listen. I thought that I could work this out. I thought I could.

Heather: Okay, phyllis. I’m going to ask you a question and I want you to answer it as though your life depended on it because it just might. Carson is telling the truth, isn’t he? He witnessed stark coerce you into doing his bidding and then he witnessed the attack that forced you to kill him, right?

Phyllis: I already told you–

Heather: I know what you’ve already told me, but I want you to tell me again, okay? Because if any of this is a lie, it will come out and you, phyllis, will suffer the consequences. So far, all we have is a lot of inadmissible hearsay from your children while you were in hiding, and none of that includes a witness to stark’s death, so… was carson a witness or not?

Phyllis: Absolutely. He was a witness. He was. He saw what happened through the window and then he ran away. He knows things that a witness would know.

Heather: What does tucker want from you?

Phyllis: I– I don’t think you want to know that, it– he wants me to try to get diane jenkins out of jabot.

Heather: Okay. No thank you. I– I– I don’T. I don’t want to know that.

Phyllis: I don’t want to be a part of it, honestly. I don’T. I mean, it’s the last thing I need in my life right now.

Heather: And this is why you think we need to put carson into some kind of protective custody.

Phyllis: I’m telling you, heather, tucker mccall can’t be trusted. He can’T. He’s so shady. He has me under his thumb. It’s like I have an axe over my head that he’s holding. He literally has my entire life in his hands.

Billy: Diane stepping away from jabot would be temporary in the hopes that it’s enough for ashley to back off.

Diane: It’s a good starting point, jack. We should consider it.

Jack: It is off the table. We are not giving ashley an easy win here.

Billy: Jack, this isn’t a family reality show competition, okay? This is our company. This is our business.

Jack: Yes, and ashley is the one who’s threatening it right now and not for the first time. I cannot believe after all the work we did to rebuild our relationship, after she took her patents and ran to paris, she pulls a stunt like this, all so diane can’t be part of the business or part of our family. That’s not going to happen, billy. I don’t care how much she and tucker plot and plan, I’m not moving one inch.

Billy: I hear you. But know this is about to get very ugly.

Diane: I’M… I’m sorry.

Jack: You have nothing to apologize for.

Diane: No, actually I have a lot to apologize for, but, uh, I really appreciate you being in my corner. It means everything.

Jack: I am always in your corner. I’ll always be in your corner. We will find a way to deal with ashley. In the meantime… I want to focus on my gorgeous fiancéE. I missed you so much when I was in new york.

Diane: I missed you too.

Jack: What do you say we go home and make up for some lost time?

Diane: Okay. This isn’t charmin! No wonder I don’t feel as clean.

Heather: Our case does hinge almost entirely on carson’s testimony, so, it– it is important that we keep him safe.

Phyllis: Yeah. Okay. I agree. Maybe I can, um… string tucker along and make him believe that I’m making progress. It does depend on whether or not jack will forgive me for what I’ve done.

Heather: You’ve done a lot of damage to that family

Phyllis: Have I? Really? Done damage to them? Where’s this coming from? Christine? Daniel? Oh, daniel. Okay. Well I have done a lot of damage to my children, that’s for sure. And I’m more interested in making it right with them and yes, summer is part of that family too.

Heather: Okay. Then I hope you’re successful because if tucker doesn’t get what he wants he’ll pull the plug and it’s game over. We need to fast track this trial. The sooner we get this over with, the better it’ll be for you, okay?

Phyllis: I know. Listen, there is nothing more than I want than to be free. I mean, to be free of all of this.

Heather: We concentrate on deactivating tucker’s threat, and you focus on making amends, okay?

Abby: Wow.

Tucker: Well, don’t everyone speak at once.

[ Devon chuckling ]

Abby: I– it’s just, this seems very fast. I– I don’t know, I think I’m– I’m in shock.

Ashley: Well, we’re kind of in shock. Aren’t we? But, you know, tucker loves me and I love him. Look, we just really want you to be happy for us, okay?

Abby: I want to be happy for you.

Ashley: You just don’t trust it?

Tucker: I think better put, she doesn’t trust me.

Abby: I really don’t want my mom to get hurt gain.

Tucker: That’s not gonna happen, abby. That’s never gonna happen again. I swear that I’m just not gonna put my relationship with her in jeopardy ever again. You’re kinda quiet.

Devon: Just taking it all in.

Tucker: Yeah?

Devon: Yeah.

Tucker: Thoughts?

Devon: My thoughts?

Tucker: Yeah.

Devon: Uh, you know, it’s– you never cease to amaze me.

[ Tucker laughing ]

Tucker: I would not call that a full-throated, uh, endorsement of the wedding, which we would be thrilled to have from both of you.

Devon: Yeah, I mean, when it’s right, it’s right.

Abby: You have our blessing.

Ashley: Really?

Abby: Under one condition. You stop looking at wedding venues and you let devon and me throw your wedding here at the house.

Tucker: Oh, man?

Ashley: Come on.

[ Ashley chuckling ]

Abby: Okay?

[ Ashley laughing ]

Tucker: Yeah?

Devon: Yeah.

Diane: Thank you. Oh, this is nice.

Jack: This is so nice.

Diane: So nice. It almost feels normal.

Jack: I promise you there’s going to be a whole lot of normal once– never mind, I’m not going to talk about ashley.

Diane: Thank you.

Jack: It only makes us mad and I don’t want to spoil the moment.

Diane: Agreed, so… what do you want to talk about instead?

Jack: You decide.

Diane: No, you go ahead.

Jack: Um… I will say, I was surprised to hear that phyllis just showed up. What? What?

Diane: Come on. You’ve gone from talking about one woman who hates me to another that hates me even more!

Jack: You’re absolutely right, I apologize.

Diane: No, no. No, it’s– it’s fine. We can talk about her if you want.

Jack: You sure?

Diane: Oh yes, I can’t wait to talk about phyllis.

Jack: Okay, now you’re poking fun at me.

Diane: All right, maybe I am just a little. But yes, we were all surprised when phyllis suddenly came out of hiding and turned herself in.

Jack: How did she even make bail?

Diane: Well, apparently an emt, some guy named carson, uh, showed up and backed up her whole story.

Jack: Including the part about her killing stark in self-defense?

Diane: All of it.

Jack: So, this emt has a change of heart and comes back to defend her? Sounds a bit sketchy.

Diane: Well, I heard it was a, uh, a guilty conscience. He had read about me being in jail and then heard that she was still alive and on the run and then, I guess he just caved in.

Jack: Guilty conscience?

Diane: Yeah, I know. It’s a hard story to buy. But phyllis was able to use it as her get-out-of-jail card.

Jack: She may actually beat these charges.

Diane: The thought of that is nauseating.

Jack: Okay, now I’m really sorry I brought her up.

Diane: No, no it’s okay, jack. It’s fine. I mean, it’s not as if every member of our family isn’t intimately connected to this case. It’s just a really nice coincidence for phyllis.

Jack: Oh, yeah. Everything works out just fine for her. (Wheezing)

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue. With nurtec odt, I can treat a migraine

Jack: So, have you actually seen phyllis since she got back?

Diane: I did.

Jack: How’d that go?

Diane: Uh, it was strange, uncomfortable. She was at society with tucker and we were both trying very hard to be civilized. I told her that I was moving past the anger and I just wanted to get on with my life.

Jack: And how did she respond?

Diane: Um, I don’t know. She seemed remorseful, but with phyllis you– you wonder if it’s all an act. I mean, she is really good at faking things. I don’t know, I’d like to believe she was sincere, but–

Jack: Oh, no, no. I’m on your side there. Something about this whole thing is off, and with phyllis in the middle, it’s even more suspicious.

Diane: You know what? I almost don’t care if she beats it.

Jack: I do. After everything she put you and our family through, there are some things you can’t just walk back.

Diane: Yes, but with ashley and tucker coming after me now, the last thing I need is more conflict with phyllis.

Jack: Oh, no, no. She doesn’t want that. Look, if she’s able to beat these charges, and that’s a giant if, she is going to be working her tail off to mend fences with summer and with daniel. She won’t have time for anything else.

Diane: Yeah, summer came over the other night looking for kyle.

Jack: And?

Diane: It didn’t go well.

Jack: I’m not that surprised. Kyle is really angry. He feels she betrayed him. And you know how fond I am of summer, but I– I don’t see an easy way out for those two.

Diane: I just hate the mess that this whole feud with phyllis has caused everyone.

Jack: Listen to me. This is not your fault.

Diane: No, but my age-old battle with her is at the center of all of this. And all we’ve done is– is just hurt the people we love.

Jack: Listen to me. The people you love love you. And where there is love, there is always room for forgiveness.

Phyllis: I will make things right with summer and daniel.

Heather: I know you’d like to, but–

Phyllis: No, no, no. I will. I will make things right for my children. My life isn’t going to be dictated by tucker mccall. That already happened with jeremy stark. That’s not happening again. I’m shedding my skin. If I get the chance, I swear, heather, if I get the chance, big changes will be coming. Big changes.

Billy: Well, wouldn’t that be something?

Ashley: I don’t know what to say.

Tucker: Yeah, me neither. I’m– I’m so touched though. And surprised.

Abby: That we would want to host your wedding?

Ashley: Yes, I mean, we didn’t know how you would feel about us even getting married, so–

Devon: I mean, we can’t say it hasn’t been challenging.

Tucker: Sure, I understand you weren’t so sure about my intentions.

Abby: There’s something different. I’ve noticed it all night. The way that you’ve been looking at each other. It looks like you’re genuinely falling in love.

Tucker: Well, I got to tell you guys, I’m just– I’m very touched that you would offer to– to host this wedding in my– in my mom’s house. Are you sure you want to?

[ Both chuckling ]

Devon: Hey, if you’re up for it, then absolutely.

Abby: Yes. We want to support you.

Tucker: Wonderful.

Devon: So, that settles it then.

Ashley: Yay!

Tucker: All right.

Devon: Congratulations are in order.

Tucker: Thank you!

Abby: Congratulations!

Tucker: Yes. Thank you. Cheers.

Ashley: Cheers. Relapsing ms isn’t the only thing I have going on.

Abby: I surprised you, didn’t I?

Devon: A little bit.

[ Abby chuckling ] A little bit. Just ’cause you haven’t been the biggest cheerleader of their relationship.

Abby: I know.

Devon: So, was your offer genuine or is there more to it?

Abby: Look, to be honest, I have had a really hard time picturing tucker be a part of my mom’s life.

Devon: Yeah, I know you have. So, what’s changed?

Abby: Just looking at her tonight, she was so happy. It’s like she actually trusts him despite their past and that she thinks that maybe he finally could be the one.

Devon: I hope she’s right.

Abby: You don’t think so?

Devon: I didn’t say that.

Abby: You sound doubtful.

Devon: No, I’m not doubtful. I’ve just learned over the years to go with the flow when it comes to tucker. That’s all. ‘Cause that flow can switch up midstream. But I do have to admit that– that look that you say you saw on your mom’s face? I saw it on his, too.

Abby: True love.

Devon: Yeah.

Abby: Right?

Devon: Yeah.

Abby: That’s why I want to throw them a wedding. As long as you’re okay with it.

Devon: Absolutely.

Abby: Really?

Devon: Absolutely, yes.

Abby: Yay!

Billy: It’s nice to see you, heather. I didn’t know you were back in town.

Heather: I’m, uh, I’m taking phyllis’s case.

Billy: Oh, wow. Does she have a prayer?

Phyllis: Oh, I have more than a prayer. I have an eye witness and innocence on my side.

Billy: I’m glad to hear that. Well, good luck.

Heather: I’ll get right to work on the carson issue. I think that your instincts are right. We need to act fast. I’ll be in touch.

Phyllis: Uh, heather, um, thank you. I mean that. Thank you.

Heather: Of course.

Billy: Mind if I join you?

Phyllis: That depends.

Billy: On?

Phyllis: On whether you’re interested in making me a blood sport like everybody else in this town.

Billy: Why would I do that?

Phyllis: Because I hurt a lot of people.

Billy: Yeah.

Phyllis: You know, billy, I don’t want a brass band or anything like that, but it would be really nice if somebody cut me some slack like they seem to do with other people.

Billy: That’s quite the mea culpa.

Phyllis: When you’re wrong you’re wrong.

Billy: I don’t want to bury you, phyllis. I do want to share something with you.

Phyllis: What do you want to share with me?

Billy: It’s about summer.

Diane: Oh.

[ Door slams shut ]

Jack: Oh.

Ashley: How was new york?

Jack: Oh, I think you know how new york went.

Ashley: Just protecting my interests.

Jack: No, you’re not. You’re using diane’s history as a tool for you and your greedy little boyfriend to carry out your little power play.

Ashley: Or I’m saving you from yourself.

Jack: Can we just drop that pretense? You don’t care about me or anything but getting what you want out of this.

Ashley: That is simply not true, but you know what? You can think whatever you want. You can’t stop me.

Diane: All right, that’s it. I’m out.

Jack: Wait, what does that mean?

Diane: That means that I am not going to keep my job. I am walking away from jabot.

Jack: No, I’m not going to–

Diane: It’s not your decision to make, jack. I refuse to be used as ammunition for your sister and tucker to hurt the company. Or you. My mind is made up. But that leaves you with a little problem, doesn’t it?

Ashley: I don’t see a problem.

Diane: Oh, well, since you claim I’m the reason that you and tucker are making this move, the situation has been resolved. I mean, if you’re telling the truth about why the two of you are doing this, then it would be reasonable to assume that you would back off. Unless, of course, I’m just a convenient excuse. Imagine if you could get ahead of your ibs-C…

Jack: You’re not going anywhere.

Diane: Jack–

Jack: We are not giving in to her extortion. You want your part of jabot? Fine. Take it!

Diane: No!

Jack: I will sign whatever papers are necessary in the morning.

Diane: Jack, I won’t let you do that.

Jack: It is done!

Ashley: Are you serious?

Jack: I am dead serious.

Ashley: You’re so disgusting, jack. You would actually give away such a large portion of the company you spent your whole life building because of her? Keeping her at jabot?

Jack: I would say that’s a hell of a lot better than tearing apart the family company

Ashley: Just stop, jack. You’re actually willing to do this for diane?

Jack: I would do that and a lot more for the woman I love.

Ashley: Unbelievable.

Jack: What is wrong with you? All of this to get her out of the company, out of the family? You want war? I’m ending it right now.

Tucker: Hey. What’s going on?

Ashley: Jack’s caving.

Diane: No, he’s not.

Jack: Diane–

Diane: I will not let you throw it all away for me. I’m out.

Devon: I was just thinking about something.

Abby: Uh-oh.

Devon: Why say “uh-oh?”

Abby: We– normally, when you say something like that, it’s something serious.

Devon: Oh. Well… it is serious.

Abby: Should I be worried?

Devon: No. You should not be worried at all. I was just thinking about how… you and I have never really talked about marriage before. You know?

Abby: Yeah. You’re right. We haven’T.

Devon: We talked about everything else. Talked about raising dominic together. Talked about living here in this house as a family. We’ve been best friends for a very, very long time

Abby: Mm-hmm.

Devon: So, I don’t know. Today just kind of gave me the idea that maybe we should talk about it.

Abby: Yeah. I love that idea.

Devon: Do you?

Abby: Yeah.

Phyllis: What is it about summer? Did something happen?

Billy: No, not at all. It’s– it’s a good thing.

Phyllis: Really? Okay because good things haven’t been coming my way.

Billy: I just wanted to share with you how impressed I’ve been with her. She, uh, she handled herself really well. You know with the confusion, the sadness. Believing that you had died.

Phyllis: Hm. God forgive me for that, right?

Billy: The point is, she did it. She’s grown up. She’s become quite a woman. And I know her and kyle, there’s, you know, conflict there, but she’s pushing though that as well. And I think you should be proud.

Phyllis: I am proud.

Billy: Just be careful not break her spirit.

Phyllis: This situation changed me. It did. I realize I have a lot to lose if I don’t turn things around and be the person my family loves. Not only loves, but respects.

Billy: I wanna believe that.

Phyllis: Well, I gotta show you then.

Billy: Yes, you do.

Phyllis: Um, I have a question. How did– how did kyle and jack react to me turning myself in?

Billy: Kyle, I have no idea. Jack was skeptical. Of course, diane wants to see you walk the plank.

Phyllis: Oh, of course. Of course she does. That would be a mild punishment.

[ Billy chuckling ]

Billy: Look, I’m pulling for you, okay? If anyone’s able to pull themselves out of the inferno, that’d be you.

Phyllis: Thanks.

Billy: You got it. Your lawyer needs you.

Heather: We need to talk. Privately.

Billy: Good to see you.

Phyllis: Bye.

Billy: Bye, heather.

Heather: Bye.

Phyllis: What is it?

Heather: It seems carson has disappeared.
