THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!
see. Thank you for the loaner. I got it dry cleaned. Great. I was just coming down to work, so. Oh. Is Chad here? Uh, no, he’s out. Uh oh. That’s a bummer.
Hey. Hello, man. Oh, I’m glad I caught ya. I wanted to say goodbye. I thought I missed ya. Well, uh, I was supposed to leave after my dad’s funeral, but I can’t now. Why? You didn’t hear? Lonnie’s missing. Wh what do you mean Lonnie’s missing? Well, she was due back at the prison last night, and she disappeared. No one knows where she is.
Hey, I’m sorry I’m so late. There was traffic from the airport. Any news on Lonnie? Nothing. And Rafe has been with Detective Hunter since last night. Searching everywhere. Oh, Eli, I’m scared. You and I both know. Lonnie would never run, and she knew exactly what she would do back at that prison. Yeah, she would never miss that deadline.
Not unless someone made her miss
it. I got it. I got it. She’s got a pulse, but it’s weak. Lonnie? Lonnie? Hey, Lonnie. Hey. Lonnie, it’s Rafe. Can you hear me?
What happened to you?
Nurse King isn’t answering it. I didn’t want to leave a message. It’s such a delicate topic. Can you imagine the poor thing? Carrying around that guilt all these years, just thinking that she’s responsible for her husband and her cat’s death. Carbon monoxide poisoning from a, from a space heater. Oh,
it’s Sean. Hi honey. Yeah, so have you and Steve had any luck finding Prentice?
Holly, why, why am
I so tired all the time? Don’t worry darling, you’ll be feeling much better very soon. What is that you’re pushing? Well, it’s our handy dandy space heater. I know it’s summertime, but you can never be too warm, right?
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.
Our babies want to cuddle. Do you remember when we got all these adorable rascals and brought them home? No, no I don’t. Of course you do. They always used to compete to see who was gonna sit on your lap first.
That’s how I found all of you. That terrible, terrible day.
What are you talking about? Hey, look at how happy we look in this picture. That’s how I want us to be all the time, forever and forever. And I’m gonna make that happen. Right now.
How? Oh, Abraham. Everything’s gone so wrong on the outside. Everyone wants to take you away from me. But as long as we’re here together on the inside, then everything will be alright. Right?
I’m just not sure what you mean. You will soon, darling. Oh look, Dr. Marlena Evans called me earlier. I wonder what she wants. If what
you’re telling me is true, this is amazing. Uh, honey, can you just come home, please? Yeah. I love you too. Bye. What? What? What? John and Steve have found Jerry Prentiss and he insists that Abe is alive. Oh my God. I know. I know. He said he’d been lying about everything and the truth is that he did not see Abe on the dock and he did not see Abe go into the water.
He was being paid to say that. So the police would stop looking for Abe. Hey? By whom? Nurse King. No. Yeah. Yeah. Prentiss said that she was the one who kidnapped Abe from the hospital and had been holding him captive all this time. Well, they alerted the police, right? Well, yeah. Apparently, um, Steve tried to reach Jada, but she’s out looking for Lonnie, so he left a message.
Well, then we need to call Rafe. We need to get somebody out there now! Yes.
Okay, so the last time anyone saw Lonnie was when you left her alone at the park after the funeral. Mm hmm. When she was late getting back here, that’s the first place Rafe and I went to look, but there was no sign of her. We’ve been searching ever since. And now the federal marshal’s involved? Mm hmm. Rafe called me a little while ago to tell me.
He was trying to stall the people at the prison, but Lonnie, she was just too far overdue. Now she’ll never get that early release. Paulina, once she’s found, she will tell everyone what happened. All right, they’ll all know that it wasn’t her fault. Oh, Eli, do you really believe that? Absolutely. I mean, there is one good aspect to the Marshal being involved.
What’s that? Bonnie’s wearing an ankle monitor. If she has it on, they’ll find her. Please hurry. Thank you. The ambulance is on its way. How is she? Her pulse is still there, but she’s unresponsive. Any signs of trauma? No. No. No blood, no bruising. I don’t know what happened to her. Do you think I have your answer?
A syringe? Do you have a history of drugs? Absolutely not. I don’t know. People get started in prison, end up OD’ing. No. Not Lonnie. She would never. Lonnie? Lonnie, it’s Rafe. Listen to me. Help’s on the way, okay?
Can you hear me? Lonnie. Daddy.
You were searching for her all night. And still no sign of Lonnie.
Um, I’m sorry man. But I’ve sent me home to get some rest. As if I could do that. I just called Claire. She said she was, she wished she could be here to help. Oh man, I um, I’m sure you wish you had her here to lean on, but
you got me. Alright, what do you need from me? I don’t know. Just none of this makes any sense. I’m really worried about her. Well, Grafe might not be Commissioner anymore, but you know, him and Jada Hunter, they’re very, very hard working, experienced detectives, and they’re not gonna stop until they find her.
Yeah, thanks for the reassurance. What I could really use right now is a distraction. I mean, between my dad being gone and Lonnie being MIA, I just… I need something that’s gonna take my mind off it all for just a little while. How about a game of chess? I don’t, I don’t think I could concentrate. Well, how about some good news?
You and Stephanie just moved in together, right? How’s that going? Good. Great, yeah, no issues at all. You weren’t smiling when you said that. Everything’s really great? Yeah, I mean, um, The apartment is, uh, is really nice. It’s a good size for her, me, and the kids. I mean, the view is beautiful. I wasn’t talking about the apartment, Judd.
I want to know how the living arrangements are going. And I feel like there’s something that you’re not telling me, but I’m not, I’m not great at assessing this kind of stuff, so I could be wrong, but no, no, you’re not, you’re not wrong. Um,
the truth is, is, um, yeah, it, uh, it was going great, um, until Alex Kariakis moved in right across the hall.
Oh, I had the dry cleaner work on that coffee stand on the front. I’ll let Chad know. Cool. So you’re working away over here, huh? Anything you want to bounce off me real quick? I’m good. But um, I really do need to get back to it. Okay, cool. I’ll get out of your hair. But first, I’m gonna give you one last chance to change your mind about brainstorming.
I know we’re kind of competitors now, but maybe we can forget about that for a few minutes, right? Okay, I can take a hint. Can you? What is that supposed to mean? What’s with all the intrusive behavior lately? Are you really unaware of how obnoxious you’re being? Or are you trying to be a jerk?
Rafe isn’t picking up. You know, he and Jada are probably on their way to Nurse King’s place right now. Yeah, and Jada must have gotten Steve’s message.
Abe is alive. I don’t believe it. Okay, sorry. Sorry, sorry, sorry. Oh, uh, uh, I gotta go. There’s an incoming patient to the ER. Possible overdose. Oh, here. Okay, I will call you if I have any news. Alright, great. Thanks. Mm
Did I really need this? I just, I just feel so tired. I just don’t want you to feel any pain, darling. I don’t know what I feel right now. You love me and I love you and that’s all that matters here on the inside. Everything is right.
I’m just a little sad. I keep thinking about that day that I left you all alone. For the longest time that’s all I could think about. How careless I was. How I failed you. It weighed so heavily on me, I didn’t think I could bear it. But now I think God has given me a second chance. To do what? To make sure that you’re never alone.
To go where we’ll always be together. For all eternity.
I have a little idea. Why don’t we, uh, watch a little Body and Soul? Yeah.
On second thought… Why don’t we just take a nap together? Yeah. Okay. Yeah, that’s good.
I just smell…
Something doesn’t seem right. What? What do you mean? If Lonnie had her ankle monitor on, Rafe should have got a call with an update by now. I, I need to see what’s going on.
You go ahead. I’ll catch up.
Eli. Finally, you answer. What’s going on with the search? Yeah, I know. I’m sorry I haven’t been in touch. Things have been happening fast. What things? I’m at the hospital. They just brought Lonnie in. You need to get here.
Hi. Hey, how is she? Uh, well, her pulse is weak. Her breathing is very shallow. Her body temperature is extremely low. The EMT said they thought it was a possible overdose. This was found off the scene. Maybe you can figure out what was in it and give her an antidote. If you only hope.
I’m not sure if you knew this, but uh, but Stephanie and Alex actually dated before she and I got together. Was it serious? Yeah, for him. Yeah, he was always a player, and um, never wanted to be with anybody exclusively. And then, he meets Stephanie, and suddenly she’s the one. Well obviously, things didn’t work out between the two of them, so…
What, is he just not gonna give up that easily? Stephanie broke up with him because of something he did. He apologized, but by then she and I were already dating. So, where does that leave the two of them? I guess they’re friends. Um, which he’s not okay with. You know, he’d be…
But he’s been, he’s been cool up until he moved, uh, moved in across the hall from us. And it’s really been that bad? We took the apartment two days ago. Then he’s already shunk to the door half naked to shower and borrowed a robe of mine without asking. Hold up, your shower? Yeah, I don’t know, apparently he didn’t have any hot water, but we had just ordered Chinese food.
He said he hadn’t eaten and insisted on joining us. And this…
This guy eats a ton of my mushu pork, has several glasses of our wine, and then uh, Stephanie finally had to give him the boot. Wow. Don’t get me wrong, I’m, I’m not threatened by him. Stephanie made her choice about who she wants to be with. I just don’t know if this idiot’s ever going to get the message.
You think I’m a jerk? You know damn well you’ve been acting like one. And it’s not like Chad and I weren’t cool with you getting an apartment in the same building, or at least I was. But ever since you moved in, you’ve been using our place like an extension of your own. You help yourself to our food, our shower, Chad’s robe.
Which I had cleaned. So not the point. Steph, I don’t know, I thought I was just being… Neighborly. Did you? Yeah. Really? I mean, just now. You show up here, I say I’m sitting down to work, and you push past me without being invited in. Then you ask if I want to brainstorm. I say no. And you ignore that, and you’re still freaking here.
Do you really think that’s neighborly? Oh, my God. No, you’re right. Um… I am being a total jerk.
Kayla rushed that syringe over to the lab. But what if we’re too late? How’s Lonnie? Yeah, did you find out if, uh, what she was injected with? Yeah, that syringe was filled with a sedative. A very powerful one. So we administered another drug to reverse the effects. And she’s doing, well, she’s responding well.
Good, good. So she’s out of the woods? Well, I’m going to keep her here overnight just for observation. But I think she’s going to be fine. Oh, thank God. Can we see her? Uh, Eli and Paulina, they’re on their way. You sure haven’t checked your messages, have you? Well, no, we’ve been focused on Lonnie. Why, what’s up?
Abe is alive. What? Yes, Nurse King still has him. She’s the one that took him from this place. And he’s still at her place now. Oh, my God. Oh,
God. Ssssss. Abe? Abe, can you hear me? Abe, open the door!
Abe? Hey, Abe! Sharma Maeve, what are you doing in here? No, no, it’s Marlena Evans. Look, the smell in here is terrible, it’s toxic. You and Abe have to get out of here. This is my husband. No one’s going anywhere.
You admitting you’re being a jerk. Was that for real, or are you just telling me what you think I want to hear? No, Steph, it honestly didn’t even occur to me until you called me out on it. But yes, now I do see that I really stepped over the line. What do you think that’s about?
Sounds like a question Dr. Evans would ask. You know, I’ve been seeing her to work on my issues. Try and get a handle on why I do what I do. Hopefully make a change for the better. So if Marlena asked you that question, if she asked you why you continually and infuriatingly step over the line, what would you say?
I don’t know, Steph. Maybe because I’m jealous of what you and Chad have. And maybe not on a conscious level, but yeah, I had a chance to be with the woman of my dreams and I blew it. So yes, I think it may be possible that part of me is trying to keep you two from having what I wanted for us. And if you didn’t call me out on it right now, I probably would have kept right on doing it because I’m not really that aware.
No. I’m sorry. No. not what? Excuse me? First of all, there is no scenario in which you would have kept right on doing it because Chad wouldn’t tolerate that. And neither would I. And second, I can’t believe someone as smart as you would continue to be so dense that you would Keep on being a total pest like this and think that it was adorable and charming Look Alex, I want us to be friends Just the other day I told you that I thought that we were in a good place and how I’d hoped that now with Chad and I living together Nothing would change But it is changing And not for the better.
Steph, that was never my intention. To alienate you, I mean. So talk to Marlene and figure this out. Because what you’re doing needs to stop. Otherwise we won’t just be ex lovers. We’ll be ex friends, too.
Listen to me, Amy. Ask for good news to distract you and I’m going on about Alex. I’m sorry. No, Chad, it’s fine.
Hello? Theo, uh, hi. I just wanted to let you know that, uh, Rafe and Jada found Lonnie. Oh, thank God. Is she okay? Well, she’s admitted to the hospital, but she’s gonna be fine. Yes, that’s, that’s the best news ever. Yeah, and there’s more, honey, so maybe you could come down to the hospital and I could fill you in?
Yes, I am, I’m on the way. And Kayla. Thank you. You’re welcome. See you soon.
They found Lonnie. She’s in the hospital right now, but she’s okay. I need to get there, like, right now. Yeah. I’ll give you a ride. Let’s go. I’m coming, sis. I’m coming.
My sweet baby girl. Is she asleep or? I don’t know. I thought Rafe and Kayla would be here to give us an update.
Mom? Mom? Eli? Oh, baby, we’re here. We’re here. I have never been more happy to see you. How do you feel? Should I get a doctor? No. I’m okay. Oh. What happened? Nurse King, she, she drugged me. What? She was, she was trying to kill me. Wait, when? Oh, you know what, Eli? She’s exhausted. You know, maybe the questions can wait.
Um, no, I’m… I have something to… I have something to tell you. Oh, honey, honey, Lonnie, sweetheart, I want to hear everything you have to say, but, you know, now is not the time. It’s important. Lonnie, your mom’s right. All right, why don’t you get some rest, and I’ll have Ray fill me in. Uh huh, we’ll talk later when you’re feeling better.
Listen to me, Mom. Dad is alive. Hi.
Hi. What did you say? I found my father. And he’s alive. Well, this is the drug talking, right? She’s confused? No, not at all. She’s telling the truth.
You get out of here, Charlemagne. I mean it. No. No, look, we’ve got to get this thing turned off, and we’ve got to get some air circulating in here. Stay away from that heater. This air is toxic, don’t you understand? You think I don’t know that? Listen to me. You came to me for help ages ago, and I… I didn’t help you.
I failed you. Give me a chance to help you now. What are you talking about? You were in so much pain. Your husband had died and you felt that you were responsible. You blamed yourself for it. You came to me to help you deal with the pain you were feeling. It’s all my fault. He died alone. They all died alone.
This is my chance to fix it. I can fix it. No, no, no. Don’t you understand? It was an accident. I’m so sorry, my love. We should have been together. And this time we will be. This is my chance to make it right. Whitley, listen to me. It was not your fault. When your husband died, it was a terrible, tragic accident.
Uh, I, I do remember coming to you for some help. Okay, let me help you now. I can be there for you. I can, I can help you through this terrible pain that you’re feeling. Just, just trust me.
really just said, our father’s alive. He is. There was a witness that saw Abe fall in the river. He lied. How do you know that? Because I talked to him. Jerry Prentiss? When? After the funeral. I, I left the park and I went to his apartment. Um, I had a hunch he was hiding something and I got him to admit it. He admitted it to John and Steve also.
They tracked him down in L. A. and he told them that he made up the story about Abe drowning and that he planted Abe’s blood and the hospital bracelet on the dock. But why? It’s Nurse King, Mama. She paid him to fake Daddy’s death. Well, where is he? Where is my Abraham? Well, I need to get to him. We think that he’s at Nurse King’s apartment.
Rafe and Jada just left and hopefully they will end this nightmare once and for all. She’s, she’s had daddy all this time and when I found out I, I went straight to her apartment but she drugged me as soon as I got there and, and before I could get him out of there. Mom, she, she’s been sedating him and she’s been telling him that she’s you and he’s all turned around.
Oh my, precious husband is…
Drop it and put your hands up.
I’ll do it. I’ll blow us all to kingdom come. Oh, no, no, no, no, Whitley, don’t. Jada, You flick that lighter, and this whole place will be a giant fireball. We came to rescue Abe, and we are not leaving without him. No. No, I will not be alone. I did all of this so I can be with my husband, and you will not take him away from me.
are all these people? Miss King. Put the lighter down. No! Now all of you get out! Get out! Quickly, quickly. I’m not going to leave you alone. I’m not. I will stay right with you, but… Abe. Abe has family. They’re worried about him. Abe needs to go home. He is home. He’s home here with me. And I’m taking him and all of you with me right now.
If you back up or we’re all going straight to God right now. No, Whitney, I want you to think about who you are. I’ll remind you, Whitney, you’re a nurse. You’re a nurse. Your job is to help people that are feeling vulnerable. That’s what you do. That is your code. I don’t know if this is right. Nobody’s going to hurt you, but I can help you through this.
And I will. I will. All you’ve got to do is give me the lighter.
Message received. Loud and clear. And I will now get out of your hair. Really this time.
Can I ask you one question first?
Sure. Chad and I have been together for a while. Things between you and me have basically been fine. So why do you think this is coming up now? I’m not sure, Steph.
But maybe because I’ve now seen you two move in together, take that next big step, and it’s driving home to me that I’ll never have what you guys have. Look, Alex, you can be a lot sometimes, but despite your flaws, you’re a serious catch. Okay? One of these days, you’re gonna meet someone who’s perfect for you.
Yeah, I don’t know about all that,
but… Look, the only thing that’s important to me right now is having your friendship. I hope I still do. You still do, but… No more being a jerk. Exactly. Bring it in.
Look, what are you doing?
What the hell’s the matter with you? You kidding? Dad? It is not what you think. What I think is that, is that he can’t take no for an answer. So he forced himself up. Dude, that’s not what happened. Shut up. Alex and I were just having a very productive talk about boundaries. Boundaries. What? Boundaries. Well, he had his hands all over you.
I was the one who hugged him. Because Alex understands now that he was crossing a line and he promised he’ll stop. Stephanie made me realize that I’ve been a jerk lately. So I want to sincerely apologize to you as well, Chad. Now I know my actions and behavior has shown otherwise, but… I am rooting for you guys.
Oh, I hope that’s true. It is. I came by to drop off your robe. Thank you. I’m leaving now.
Thank you. For what? I’m not telling him to get lost for good.
I guess I overreacted a little bit. You sure did. Abraham is alive! Alive! Tell me I’m dreaming, and please, please, God, let him be okay. I know, it’s a lot to take in. Why don’t I take you to the nurse’s station? You can sit down and we’ll wait for word, okay? Oh, there’s no way I could sit, not till I lay my eyes on my husband and know he’s okay.
Oh, oh. We need to give these two a moment alone. Oh, oh. Precious darling girl, you rest up, you’re gonna need that strength soon, when you come home to your two beautiful babies. You take care of her, she’s a hero. Yeah, she sure is.
You just couldn’t wait for backup, huh? You had to go straight to that nurse’s place? Hmm. My father. Wait, say that again? My father. He’s safe. You’re both safe.
Yes, Captain. The location is secure. We’ll be transporting the prisoner soon. And, uh, Put the mental health team on alert.
Miss King, You’re going to get the help that you need. But first I need to read you your rights. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right.
You have the right to have a lawyer present. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed for you.
Paulina? Oh, I’m so glad you’re here. Where’s Lenny? She’s okay, right? Yes, yes, yes. Eli’s in with her now. Oh, yes, honey. She’s going to be just fine. Yes, yes, but there’s more. That’s what Kayla said on the phone. What are you guys talking about? Oh, Theo, it’s a miracle. What is?
What’s going on here? What’s going on is that you’ve come home to us, my sweet husband. You’ve come home.
