Deacon: You know, I– I probably loved brooke since the minute I saw her.
Taylor: I mean, that’s– that’s something nice that you could– you could tell her.
Deacon: I’m pretty sure she knows how I feel.
Taylor: Right. It doesn’t hurt to say it again and again.
Deacon: I have, and it does hurt.
Taylor: I don’t know, what if– what if I’m right? You know, what– what if… [ Deacon chuckling ] What if– what if everything works out, and you have a future with brooke and– and hope has her family back together and you’re the key to breaking us out of this terrible, toxic cycle.
Deacon: Hmm. Yeah.
Taylor: Because if anyone can do it, deacon, it’s you.
[ Deacon sighing ]
[ Brooke laughing ]
Ridge: So, that’s really clever.
Brooke: No, that is– that is more than clever, that is great. That is so funny. And he’s– he has such great stage presence. Look at rj. He’S… wow.
Ridge: He’s good. So what do– what do we do? We– we like it or heart it?
Brooke: You got to heart it.
Ridge: I don’t know. You do it.
Brooke: Okay, heart it, and then, you should add a comment.
Ridge: Like, what? I don’t want to embarrass the kid. What do you say?
Brooke: No, you say, “this is a cool video and I’m proud of you.” That’s not embarrassing.
Ridge: No, I have a better idea, how about this? “Uh, this is a cool video.”
Brooke: Mm-hmm.
Ridge: “I’m proud of you.”
Brooke: [ Laughing ] Okay.
Ridge: Do that.
Brooke: That’s what I said, but yeah. [ Laughs ] Okay. Oh, so nice having him home, you know? I missed him so much. It’s a good feeling. Having our family back together again.
[ Both moaning ]
Carter: Can I just say that nobody wraps up a meeting quite like you?
Katie: Well, I believe it was on the agenda, end things with a hot and heavy kiss, you know? I like to follow the rules.
Carter: I’m not complaining.
[ Both chuckling ]
Katie: Lot of buzz around here with hope for the future going to italy.
Carter: Yes. Yes. The roma news is very exciting. Should be huge for hope and her line.
Katie: Oh, yeah, definitely. But, you know, rome’s one of the most romantic cities in the world. Might just be huge for brooke and ridge too.
Brooke: Oh, here you go. What?
Ridge: Hmm?
Brooke: I saw that look. What are you thinking?
Ridge: I– I’m– I’m just thinking it’s nice to not have to worry about sheila anymore.
Brooke: Hmm.
Ridge: So, I’m thinking about other stuff.
Brooke: Like work, you mean?
Ridge: Sure. Work.
Brooke: Yeah?
Ridge: Listen, I learned something when I was gone. I learned that being away from you is– is– is hard, and I don’t ever want to do that again. Ever.
[ Sighs ] I know you have this pact with taylor, I want to respect that, I just– and I am respecting it, I just wanted to, uh– to say that I– I really miss you.
[ Brooke sighing ]
Taylor: What?
Deacon: So– so that’s– that’s your professional opinion? That I should just go for it with brooke. You know, again and again…
Taylor: Ah, it’s not really a professional opinion, but– but I will say that, I don’t know, life– life is short.
Deacon: I’m right there. I mean, do you really think that I’d have a shot with brooke?
Taylor: Deacon, you won’t know unless you try.
Deacon: All right, what about forrester, right? I mean, lest either of us forget ridge and brooke are each other’s destiny.
[ Taylor sighing ] I don’t feel my age. Why should my skin?
Carter: Okay, you’re right. It is highly likely that ridge and brooke will end up going to rome.
Katie: Which means it’s highly likely that there might be some sort of reconnection?
Carter: Stranger things have happened. But I don’t know. I don’t know. Taylor and brooke’s friendship, it feels pretty legit.
Katie: It is. I– I think it’s great, and I love this independent side of brooke, but that doesn’t mean her love life has to come to a screeching halt. You know, if ridge is ready to commit to her, I mean, fully commit without one eye lingering on taylor, then why shouldn’t she go for it? I’m sure taylor would do the same in a similar situation.
Carter: Okay. But is ridge ready?
Katie: Maybe not. But after a few days with brooke in one of the most romantic cities in the world, I think he will be.
Ridge: I gotta say my time in the penalty box has not been easy.
Brooke: Yeah? Is that how it feels? Like you’re in trouble? Well, taylor and i aren’t doing this to punish you in any way, or make you feel bad–
Ridge: I know. I know that. And listen, I– I– I get what you’re doing with your friendship, and I admire that. That you guys are close now after, you know, fighting for so long.
[ Brooke laughing ]
Brooke: That’s putting it mildly. I mean, we’ve actually been at war with each other for so many years and… I– I almost thought it was gonna happen again.
Ridge: Why would you think that?
Brooke: Oh, I didn’t, just… yeah. No big deal. I mean, something happened, and… [ Sighs ] In the past, I think it would have gone into a full-blown fight, but we didn’t let it go there. We just kind of worked it out.
Ridge: So, what were you arguing about? Was it– was it something I said, something I did?
Brooke: No, we don’t argue about you anymore, ridge. And I know that’s probably a blow to your ego, but–
Ridge: Probably? It absolutely is, yes.
Brooke: No.
Ridge: So, if you weren’t fighting about me, what were you fighting about?
[ Brooke sighing ]
Brooke: Our children.
Ridge: Children, of course.
Brooke: If we’re not gonna let you come between our friendship, we’re certainly not gonna let the kids. And I– I know that you’re happy about our friendship, but I know there’s downsides too. And I have every intention of keeping my pact with taylor. But… I really do miss you.
[ Brooke sighing ]
Taylor: Destiny. So sick of hearing that word.
Deacon: Hey, tell me about it, 100%. I mean, but, you know, when you think about it, there is some truth to it.
Taylor: Truth to destiny? Okay, if destiny means breaking up, and getting back together a million times. How many times has it been? It’s been a lot. It’s been a lot. I really do think that you could be the one to help break this vicious cycle.
Deacon: Benefiting us both.
Taylor: What are you implying?
Deacon: I’m not implying– well, I guess I am. I’m implying that you are not exactly objective. You– you say you wanna– you wanna help me, you wanna help brooke, you wanna help yourself, right? That way, you can spend the rest of your days as mrs. Ridge forrester.
Taylor: Deacon, don’t, just… listen, I– I’m not gonna deny my feelings for ridge, even though I’ve been trying to deny my feelings for ridge. You know, it wasn’t that long ago that I was all dressed up in a wedding dress, getting ready to marry him, and then… well, you know how that turned out. I will always love ridge, just like you will always love brooke, but there’s a difference between us, right? I am– or have been, trying to push away my feelings for ridge because of this pact with brooke. But you don’t have anything keeping you from going after brooke. You know? Think about it, you know? You’ve spent a lot of your life kind of being the villain, right? What would it be like to… be a hero? Come on, deacon. Do it, do it. Just– just call her. Call her, tell her how you feel. Just see what happens, deacon. Do it. Do it today. One prilosec otc each morning blocks
[ Carter speaking italian ]
Carter: Ciao.
Katie: I’m sorry, you speak italian?
Carter: Well, I can get by.
Katie: Wow. I think that makes you even sexier than you already were.
Carter: Really?
Katie: I know. You know what I– I– I really think that you should, um, you know– you should use some of that later on.
Carter: Hmm.
Katie: When we’re together. You know, just whisper a few phrases here and there. It might earn you some real brownie points.
Carter: I think I can make that happen.
[ Both moaning ]
[ Carter chuckling ]
Katie: Uh, italy. That’s such an amazing place. Rome is like, my favorite city in the whole world. I could totally be an expat there.
[ Carter laughing ] Imagine how wonderful it would be for brooke and ridge if they end up there together.
Carter: You’re not pushing this reunion at all.
Katie: I’m not, I’m a totally neutral party.
[ Carter laughing ] Oh, come oN. I mean, just think about it. Like, I just want my sister to be happy and she’s never more happy than when she’s with ridge.
Carter: I can’t argue. If they had their reunion in rome, it would be an epic moment.
Katie: It would.
Carter: The most romantic time in their lives, but if it were to actually happen, think about what they’d come home to. They can’t stay in italy forever. They’d come back to L.A., And, you know damn well taylor will have something to say about it.
Katie: Hmm.
Taylor: Oh, hey.
Ridge: Hey. If you’re looking for steffy, she is in a financial meeting that is probably the most boring meeting of the year and I was very lucky to get out of it.
Taylor: Okay. And if you’re looking for your bff, she is somewhere that I would not want to be.
Taylor: What? Where– where’s brooke?
Ridge: Il giardino, talking to deacon.
Taylor: Really?
Ridge: Yeah, he called, said it was very important.
Taylor: Well, maybe, he finally, cracked the code for the best pizza sauce in the world or something.
Ridge: Maybe he did. I don’t know, I don’t think it was that important. I think it was probably about hope. I mean, why else would he call brooke?
Deacon: Was I right about the chardonnay?
Woman: Yes, thank you.
Deacon: Okay. Enjoy.
When it comes down to it,
there’s really
only three questions
worth asking, brooke.
“What’s worth living for?”
“What’s worth dying for?”
And “what’s worth fighting for?
Answer is the same
to all of them.

Brooke: [ Laughing ] Hi.
Deacon: Hi.
Brooke: So, you wanted to see me?
Deacon: Yeah, uh, thank you for coming. Uh– uh, let’s, um– let’s– let’s sit down. Uh, did you want coffee or, uh, iced tea?
Brooke: Iced tea would be good.
Deacon: Hey, sam, do me a favor. Can we get a quick iced tea? Thanks. Um…
Brooke: You seem a little nervous. What’s going on? Is it hope?
Deacon: No, no, no, she’s doing great. I mean, she is good, right? Everything’s good?
Brooke: Uh…
Deacon: She came in earlier, she was telling me about rome. That’s– that’s exciting, right?
Brooke: Right, oh, yes, that is very exciting. It gives her a chance to showcase her line.
Deacon: Right, I tell you, I’m just– I’m blown away by everything that she’s– she’s accomplishing. Everything she’s doing. Honestly, it’s– it’s kind of hard to believe that she came from us. Not you, me. I mean, just, um, you know, she’s just– she’s so dynamic. She’s so… I don’t know, she’s so kind just, I guess, that maybe, that is part of the reason that I asked you to come here.
Brooke: Because of hope?
Deacon: Because of what we shared, once. I used to pre-rinse dishes cause my old detergent
Taylor: So, she is with deacon. I mean, it– it could be about hope. Could be about a number of things.
Ridge: Yes, it could be about a number of things, but if it’s about money, if he’s asking for a loan, we’re gonna have a problem.
Taylor: Oh, I don’t– come on, don’t be silly. Il giardino is doing just fine.
Ridge: As far as we know.
Taylor: Yes.
Ridge: Why else would he be calling her? For what?
Taylor: I don’t know. Why are you making a big deal about it? They have a kid together, so.
Ridge: Yeah, deacon and brooke, that was, uh, not her finest hour.
[ Taylor chuckling ]
Taylor: That was scandalous for sure, but something good came out of it. They made hope.
Ridge: Okay.
Taylor: And, you know, that really bonds most people together, having kids.
Ridge: Always about the kids, isn’t it? Always about those crazy kids.
Taylor: And you, it’s also about you. I mean, you have been a really important part of my life for a long time. I mean, before the kids came along. We share a lot of beautiful memories. We really do.
[ Brooke sighing ]
Brooke: Wow. [ Laughs ] Okay. Somebody wants to take a trip down memory lane, I’m guessing.
Deacon: Would that be so bad?
Brooke: No, no. I mean, some memories are worth remembering and smiling about, and others…
Deacon: Brooke, I’m sorry for any pain that I caused you.
Brooke: No.
Deacon: No, this captivating woman who I– you know how I feel about you, how I’ll always feel about you.
Brooke: I do.
Deacon: I’m just so thankful to have you in my life and I’m so sorry for the way that it started. For the person that I was all those years ago. But I’ve been thinking about it and I– I believe that people come into each other’s lives for a reason, and I think maybe, you came into my life to help me change. You inspire me to be a better man. To be someone. I mean, if a woman as extraordinary as you can see potential in me, someone so smart, so breathtakingly gorgeous.
[ Brooke chuckling ] I mean, do you have any idea the influence that you’ve had in my life? Take the restaurant, for example. I’ve wasted so much time, and now, it’s like I’ve got this fire in my belly. You know, I just– I just want to succeed.
Brooke: Yes.
Deacon: And I want to prove to you and hope that– that I can do this. You’re two of the most important women in my life.
Brooke: Wow. Okay. Um, I mean, it makes me feel good to hear you say these things. I’m just a little confused. I’m not sure where you’re going with all of this.
Deacon: I know that you and taylor have vowed not to pursue ridge.
Brooke: Right?
Deacon: And, I mean, that doesn’t mean that you’ve sworn off all men, right? I– I– I know this– I know this is crazy, but maybe, it’s our time. Maybe, it’s our chance, I… brooke, I have worked so damn hard to put my life back together, and it’s working, and this is just the beginning. I’m making better choices, and the best choice that I could think of is being with you. Doing everything I can to– to show you and hope the man that I am now. Do you think that there’s a chance that we could find our way back to each other? That we could be a family for hope, for our grandchildren? I know I’ve said this before. Since you and ridge are separated, I’m gonna say it again. I love you. I love you more than anyone or anything. Please, come back to me.
