Traci: Lily. Lily?
Lily: Oh, my god. Traci. Sorry. Hi. I didn’t hear you.
Traci: Hi.
[ Chuckles ] That’s okay. Everybody’s minds are a million miles away this time of year, you know, going over our shopping lists and trying to figure out who’s naughty and who’s nice. I mean, I always think everyone’s nice, and then I look at my list and think about it. I am surrounded by some extremely naughty people.
[ Both laugh ]
Lily: I know. I think I have a lot of the same people on my list.
Traci: I think you do. I hope I’m not intruding.
Lily: No, never. Please sit. Sit down.
Traci: Thank you. Okay. For a minute. So, are you alright?
Lily: Oh, yeah. I’m fine.
Traci: Oh, good. Because when I first stepped in, your mind was a million miles away, and I don’t think you were going over your shopping list.
[ Chuckles ]
Lily: No, no, no, no. I was just thinking about billy.
Billy: [ Sighs ] And here I thought this was my little secret.
Daniel: What do you mean?
Billy: Well, ever since this place opened, around this time of the day, it’s usually a ghost town. So I come here to, you know, get a little space.
Daniel: You know, most people would go to libraries for that kind of quiet.
Billy: They don’t serve scotch at the library.
Daniel: Very true. Beverages were an incentive for me, too.
Billy: Which explains why we’re both here at the same time.
Daniel: I suppose so.
Billy: Lucky us.
Tucker: Well, how fortuitous. The very person I was looking for.
Ashley: Really?
Tucker: Yes.
Ashley: And you found me at my workplace. What are the chances?
Tucker: Are you free for a bit?
Ashley: Um…yeah, actually.
Tucker: Good.
Ashley: I was here to talk to jack, but he’s not in.
Tucker: Oh, yeah, I suspect you want to talk to jack about more than jabot.
Ashley: Why do you say that?
Tucker: I ran into diane last night. She said she’s leaving town.
Ashley: Yeah. Jack excoriated me over what he thinks is my role that I played in her abrupt departure, so —
Tucker: He excoriated you?
Ashley: Yeah.
Tucker: You don’t deserve that. Maybe a gentle scolding, but excoriation seems a bit
[Laughing] Excessive.
Ashley: Did you come here just to be condescending or…?
Tucker: Well, I also wanted to see you. I thought we made good progress yesterday at lunch, and I want to keep that, you know, momentum rolling. So I’ve come to ask you if you’d care to accompany me on a drive.
Ashley: In the middle of the workday?
Tucker: It’s a beautiful workday outside. And you never know. This time tomorrow, the roads could be covered with ice and snow. It might be our last chance to take a little drive around the lake till spring.
Ashley: Are you going to ignore the rules of the road like you did in monte carlo?
Tucker: Never again. No, I’ve traded in all my superfast high-performance sports cars.
Ashley: Mm. For what? Your 17th bentley?
Tucker: [ Chuckling ] No. Beat-up pickup truck.
Ashley: Mm. So, if I was supposed to go someplace with you, where would we go?
Tucker: I’m not gonna spoil the surprise for you.
Ashley: I could use some fresh air. Let’s do it.
Tucker: Let’s do it.
Summer: We’re home!
Jack: Hey! How was school today?
Harrison: Great
Summer: Show grandpa jack the drawing that you drew.
Jack: Let me see. Wow. That’s lovely.
Harrison: I made it for dee dee.
Summer: I told him that you would hold on to it until she gets back.
Jack: You know what? I know the perfect place on the refrigerator for this.
Harrison: When is dee dee coming back?
Summer: He thought that she might be home for dinner.
Jack: I’ll tell you what. Come with me. Come sit with me. We’re gonna have a little talk together.
Phyllis: Mr. Stark.
Jeremy: “Jeremy.” Please. The last person who called me mr. Stark was the judge who sentenced me to prison.
Phyllis: Oh.
Jeremy: [ Chuckles ]
Phyllis: Jeremy. I’m surprised you’re still here.
Jeremy: Why would you say that?
Phyllis: You don’t seem like a patient person.
Jeremy: I could say the same about you.
Phyllis: Oh. Have you researched me?
Jeremy: A bit. But I just felt that this was a conversation worth waiting for. Please sit down. Coffee’s on me. It’s the least I could do after you gave me that information on taylor jenson. I mean — diane jenkins.
Phyllis: I know who you’re talking about.
Jeremy: It’s good to put a name and a face — and a beautiful face — to the anonymous caller that helped me track down diane here in genoa city.
Phyllis: I didn’t make that call.
Jeremy: Well, diane made it pretty clear that you had it in for her. She was pretty confident.
Phyllis: Was she?
Jeremy: Yeah.
Phyllis: Well, there’s definitely mutual animosity between diane and myself. But just because she said that i made the call does not make it true.
Jeremy: [ Chuckles ] Well, if it wasn’t your distinctive voice on the other end of the phone, why did you want to meet me?
Phyllis: Why are you here? What exactly are your plans?

Jack: I know your daddy had to go away on a business trip. He’ll be back soon. And dee dee had to take a trip, too. She may be back a little later. But she asked me to tell you that she’s gonna be thinking of you every single day.
Summer: And she loves you very much.
Jack: Yes, she does. Hey, I know you’re disappointed. I know how much fun you and dee dee have together, but you know what? When she gets back, you’re just gonna have extra fun.
Summer: Yeah, it’s gonna be snowing soon, and you guys can go sledding and build a snowman.
Jack: Yeah, there’ll be so many things you can do together. Won’t that be exciting?
Summer: Yeah. You know what would make you feel better, I think? Calling your daddy. And I think that he would like that, too.
Harrison: Will dee dee be back for christmas?
Jeremy: I came here to catch up with an old friend.
Phyllis: And?
Jeremy: That’s all.
Phyllis: I mean, I’m sure you have other friends. Why the urgency to connect with diane?
Jeremy: Well, diane’s special. And she has something that belongs to me, and I need to get it back. So I booked the first flight out to this charming city after i got that anonymous call.
Phyllis: You could have just picked up the phone and called her.
Jeremy: Oh, no. Face-to-face. ‘Cause I can always tell if someone’s lying to me. That’s why I invited you to have coffee with me. So, enough small talk. Let’s get down to business.
Lily: I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that about billy. You just — you caught me off guard, and I kind of blurted it out.
Traci: But it was a completely honest response, right? You were thinking about billy.
Lily: [ Chuckles ] Yeah, I was.
Traci: I imagine things are a little bit bumpy between the two of you right now.
Lily: Why do you say that?
Traci: Thanksgiving. When the two of you stopped by the house, things seemed just a little off, like you were on different pages of the same book.
Lily: [ Chuckles ] That is a perfect way to describe it.
Traci: And I’m sure it’s been difficult since billy decided to step down as coo. I imagine that threw some wrenches in the plans.
Lily: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I was definitely thrown when he wanted to leave, you know? But I understood his reasons. It was terrible timing, though, ’cause that’s also when nate left. So it was really hard.
Traci: Yeah, I heard about that.
Lily: Yeah. There was just a lot of turnover to deal with. You know, just a lot of things that I thought I could count on have fallen apart.
Traci: So, would you say that things between you and billy are more than just a little bumpy right now?
Lily: You could say that.
Traci: [ Sighs ] I am so sorry.
Lily: So am I.
[ Inhales sharply ]
Billy: So I’ve heard more about your possible project at chancellor-winters.
Daniel: Really? What’d you hear?
Billy: That it’s an amazing project and it’s, um, exciting enough to keep you in town for a while.
Daniel: Well, I wish I could tell you more, but the ceo doesn’t want me to reveal too much. So, if she hasn’t told you herself…
Billy: Yeah, well, I’m sure she’ll tell me eventually. I mean, if she decides to greenlight it, of course.
Daniel: Mm. You know, I can say that I’m thinking big picture. You know, I really want to create something massive and aspirational.
Billy: That is perfectly vague.
Daniel: It’s a shame that you chose to leave chancellor-winters. I think that you’d actually be excited about this project. You know, you’d appreciate the vision, anyway.
Billy: Yeah, well, if I was there, I’d probably screw it up, so count your blessings. You’ll be in good hands with devon and lily. Me, personally, it was just time to move on.
Daniel: To?
Billy: Excuse me?
Daniel: You’re moving on to what? What’s next for billy abbott? Vo: It’s a new day.
Ashley: How did you have time to do all this?
Tucker: I had help.
Ashley: Yeah. Expensive help.
Tucker: Is there any other kind?
[ Breathes deeply ] Well, you said you could use some fresh air. It doesn’t get any fresher than this.
Ashley: Yeah, that’s very true, it doesn’T.
Tucker: Uh, there are, uh, sandwiches here, uh, hot cider in here.
Ashley: Yeah, well, you scored a lot of points for effort.
Tucker: Yeah, I think winter picnics are underrated, don’t you?
Ashley: Probably ’cause they’re kind of freezing. Ah. Right.
Tucker: [ Breathes deeply ]
Ashley: So, of all the places that you could have taken me, why did you choose this?
Tucker: Oh, just wanted to get you away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Work and family and all the other reasons you hate me.
Ashley: I don’t hate you.
Tucker: Mm.
Ashley: I don’t trust you.
Tucker: [ Chuckles ]
Ashley: They’re very different.
Tucker: Yeah. I’m gonna continue to try to change your mind about that and prove that I am worthy of your trust. Meanwhile… please.
Ashley: Thank you.
Jeremy: Now, I want to know where you got the information that diane turned me in to the fbi.
Phyllis: I told you that i was not the one who made the phone call.
Jeremy: [ Chuckles ] Ooh, I gotta hand it to you. You stick to a story like nobody’s business. That is an admirable skill where I come from. So, let me lay it out for you. If diane was responsible for turning me into the feds, I have every reason to be angry with her, agreed?
Phyllis: I don’t know where you’re going with this.
Jeremy: It seems that you have many attributes that could be of service to me. You aren’t necessarily bound by conventional morality, and i am very, very motivated to see diane.
Phyllis: I know what you’re getting at. You think I know where diane is, and you want me to help you find her. And when you find her, you intend to make her pay for what she did to you, right?
Jeremy: [ Chuckles ] Oh, I couldn’t imagine you would have a problem with that.
Summer: Harrison is taking the news about diane really hard, but I do think it made him feel better to hear your voice. Alright. Yeah, let’s talk after dinner. I love you.
[ Breathes deeply ] Where is harrison now?
Jack: He’s in the kitchen with mrs. Martinez. When I left, he was helping her cut away the crust the way he likes it.
Summer: [ Chuckles ]
Jack: How are things in the cabin?
Summer: Oh, kyle says that diane is finally settling in. She’s not happy that she’s stuck there, but she knows it’s for the best.
Jack: Only you, kyle, and i know where she actually is. We cannot risk stark stumbling onto her actual location.
Summer: She can’t stay at the cabin forever.
Jack: Look, once kyle is back, we will work on a plan to neutralize this guy and get him away. Until we do that, diane has no life here to return to.
Summer: [ Sighs ] I wonder what it’ll take to get him to walk away.
Jack: It’s not gonna be easy. When I offered to pay him off to leave diane alone, he turned me down flat.
Summer: It can’t just be all about the cash.
Jack: It’s not. No, he has a score to settle with diane. But with any luck, maybe he’ll leave town on his own once he realizes she ran away to get away from him. And if that doesn’t work, we’ll try something else. Look, everyone has an achilles heel. I will find stark’S. Who says you have to spend more on skincare
Lily: I don’t know. I just feel like billy and i aren’t in sync right now. You know, we used to always be on the same page when it came to work and our relationship, but — [ Sighs ] I don’t know. I feel like his focus has shifted.
Traci: Lily, he’s not gambling again, is he?
Lily: Oh, no, no, no. Nothing like that.
Traci: Oh.
Lily: No. It’s almost like he needs to find a new purpose because he’s realized the corporate world is not what he wants.
Traci: Ah. He has done this before a few times. I don’t know. He just throws himself body and soul into whatever big new thing he sees for himself.
Lily: Yeah. And it’s completely taken over his life. So, in turn, it’s taken over mine, you know? Like, right now I’m sitting here and I have so much that I need to work on and focus on and I — I’m just thinking about billy and, “what is he gonna do next?” You know? It’s like we just keep going in circles, and [Sighs] I want it to stop, you know? But I — I don’t really know how.
Billy: Why would my future be any concern to you?
Daniel: I didn’t mean anything by it. I’m just curious.
Billy: Okay. Well, you know, I’m still trying to figure it out. Got options here, options there. A little bit stuck in the middle.
Daniel: It’s good to have choices.
Billy: It is, but it does feel strange to be questioned about them by you of all people.
Daniel: Of all people? Hmm. [ Chuckles ] I’m not really sure how to interpret that.
Summer: Harrison’s upstairs with the nanny for his nap.
Jack: I’m glad someone in this house is getting some sleep these days. This whole stark situation has all the grown-ups on edge. And I want this to be resolved before harrison starts picking up on the tension.
Summer: You’ve put him first since the day he came into our lives.
Jack: He is completely innocent in all of this. Yes, diane brought some of this on herself, but I’m not going to rest until I know she’s safe.
Summer: You two have grown so close. It’S…sweet how protective you are of her.
Jack: It feels like there’s a question in here somewhere.
Summer: I guess I’m just wondering how you can so easily forgive diane, but you couldn’t do the same with my mom.
Jack: I see.
Summer: This is coming from somebody who is furious with my mom right now. She crossed the line. She brought this criminal to town, and she put us all in jeopardy, but how many times did diane say that there were no more secrets and then — surprise! — There was another one?
Jack: Summer, summer, hear me out. Ever since diane came back, she has gone to great lengths to show she’s a different person than the one who faked her death, who turned all our lives upside down. Yes, I am not forgetting the things she tried to cover up, but I’m starting to understand why she did it. She was afraid that tucker would undo all the progress she’d made with kyle, that if we all knew about stark that we’d judge her and cut her loose.
Summer: Even though her involvement with him supposedly ended a long time ago?
Jack: Exactly. She has been playing defense since she got to genoa city. All these accusations and innuendoes coming from every corner. At the same time, she’s trying to prove her worth as a mother and a grandmother. I think you and I will agree she’s made some real strides there. She doesn’t want to make the same mistakes. She has truly tried to reinvent herself. She’s defending herself against attacks from ashley and nikki and especially phyllis.
Summer: I guess that’s fair.
Jack: Summer, your mother has been on the warpath since we discovered that diane was alive.
Summer: I can see where you’re coming from, but —
Jack: There is a deep connection between phyllis and me that goes back to before you were born. It’s been a giant part of my life, and, no, I never thought it would disappear, but… summer, I can’t do it anymore. I can’t sit back and say, “well, that’s who phyllis is,” every time something like this happens, especially in a situation like this, where who she is has created real danger for all of us.
Jeremy: The woman who called me must have realized how i would react when I found out i was serving a heavy prison sentence because my former partner betrayed me. Now, I don’t think it’s out of bounds to consider her an ally. Her and diane have different problems, but the feelings were mutual. We want the same thing. You know what I’m saying, right?
Phyllis: [ Breathes sharply ]
[ Sighs heavily ] I called you. I was the one who called you.
Jeremy: You see?
Phyllis: [ Sighs ]
Jeremy: Doesn’t that feel better?
Phyllis: I called you because I knew that you would scare diane out of town. I have no proof that she went to the feds.
Jeremy: None? Not an overheard conversation or a legal document lying around?
Phyllis: No. I have no proof. It’s just speculation.
Jeremy: So, you lied to me?
Phyllis: I needed her out of town. I needed this woman out of town. Do you understand? And I knew if you came into town, she would leave. She would leave because she would be scared. And you know what? The people of genoa city — we thank you. We thank you so much for doing this. And it’s my responsibility. I’m the one who’s responsible for lying to you. And let me just say, from the bottom of my heart, I am sorry. I am so sorry. I’m sorry that I inconvenienced you. I’m sorry that — that you’re here. But you know what? You — you can go back to — to california or L.A. Or — or wherever you want now. We’re done. And — and I apologize. And — and just know it all happened because of me. When you really need to sleep.
“The young and the restless”
will continue.
Ashley: Well, that was delicious.
Tucker: Good.
Ashley: You’re such a smart guy, aren’t you? Getting the food from that bistro in the warehouse district that you remembered that I love.
Tucker: Mm-hmm. I remember everything.
Ashley: Yeah, you do, don’t you? Quite an eye for detail.
Tucker: Oh, yeah. I always have. And it’s even more acute since my crash in monte carlo. I — I — I notice the little things even more now. Like how there’s just a tad too much cinnamon in that cider. But I like it anyway.
[ Inhales deeply ] And someone’s burning a fire. You smell that? I love that smell. Ah. Look that way again.
Ashley: Why?
Tucker: ‘Cause of your eyes.
Ashley: God.
Tucker: I’m serious. Your eyes just sparkle in the afternoon sun.
Ashley: Oh, please. Really?
Tucker: Yes.
Ashley: Come on.
Tucker: I’m being honest. No, that crash really changed me. It did. I reevaluated my entire life, and [Chuckles] I found it sorely lacking. I was, um, missing out on love.
Ashley: I’m supposed to believe that you were actually missing out on love? All these years, no love for you, tucker?
Tucker: Well, you know what I’m talking about. I’m not talking about just romantic love. I missed out on so much with devon. I feel a lot of regret when it comes to him. So now I just want to really know him. And my grandson. Our grandson.
Ashley: Yeah. What a cute little boy.
Tucker: I know. And I don’t think it’s too late, either, ’cause I think I can start to create a bond with devon. I think deep down in his heart, he wants the same. And since I’ve been back, I’ve really created a foundation on which we can build a better and stronger relationship than we’ve ever had before. And I’d love to work with him, of course, just the way he did with neil. I think we could do great things together.
Ashley: It’s interesting hearing you go on about this.
Tucker: Why is that?
Ashley: Is that your intention? You want to get a piece of chancellor-winters so you can work beside devon?
Tucker: What makes you say that?
Ashley: Well, if I’m interpreting what you said correctly, you’re not gonna be truly satisfied until you have both a personal and a professional relationship with your son. And I just can’t help but draw a parallel between, you know, the two of us.
Tucker: Hmm.
Ashley: Because, you know, you’re working overtime to rebuild our relationship, correct? And I remember what diane said about you wanting her to get the financial information about jabot before you went after her company, so…
Tucker: Well, I thought you dismissed that whole idea as ridiculous.
Ashley: Why would I dismiss something like that? I wouldn’T. I think what I said is you would be stupid and perhaps foolish to make that kind of a play. But it kind of sounds like maybe that’s what you’re doing with devon and his company. I’m just wondering if maybe — are you going after chancellor-winters and jabot?
Summer: Thank you for taking the time to explain things to me. I feel like I have a little bit better grasp on things. You and I might not ever agree on the topic of diane, but i guess I can understand why you’re willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.
Jack: Thank you for hearing me out. Thank you for offering your understanding.
Summer: I mean, it comes down to kyle, right? He loves his mom, and you have to support that.
Jack: Just as you have to support your mother, even though you’re very angry at her right now.
Summer: Yeah.
[ Sighs ] I guess I just sort of always held out the hope that you two would work things out, settle down together.
Jack: I promise you I’m sorry to disappoint you.
Summer: No, it’s fine. It’s just… I feel sad for my mom. She can’t seem to get out of her own way. She doesn’t realize that her actions are costing her things that could make her so happy. She’s her own worst enemy.
[ Breathes deeply ]
Jeremy: Well, this has been, um…illuminating.
[ Chuckles ] Thank you very much for the talk.
Phyllis: I’m relieved I came clean.
Jeremy: Yeah, and I feel terrible that I assumed the worst of my old flame.
Phyllis: I am very, very sorry I inconvenienced you. I can’t apologize enough.
Jeremy: Oh, no worries. You’re not the only one who needs to apologize. I really need to make things right with diane. Where did you say she was off to?
Phyllis: Okay, I was telling you the truth. I have no idea where she is.
Jeremy: But you can find out.
Phyllis: I can’t find out. Nobody is telling me. Nobody’s telling me. I mean, she left without her grandson or her son, so she’s definitely scared.
Jeremy: Hmm.
[ Chuckling ] I can’t imagine why. You have a good day.
Tide pods ultra oxi
Jack: I got a crazy busy afternoon. What does yours look like?
Summer: Back-to-back meetings, but I should be able to get home in time to have dinner with harrison.
Jack: Oh, with kyle gone, that’ll mean a lot to him. I’m not gonna deal with your mother. You’re on your own.
Phyllis: I need to talk to both of you, actually.
Jack: If it’s about business, talk to your daughter. She’s your boss. If it’s anything else, I’m not interested.
Phyllis: It’s about jeremy stark! I met with him.
[ Sighs ] I need to tell you both what happened.
Billy: I guess all I’m saying is that, uh, you, of all people, have never been interested in my occupational future in the past, so why would you now, you know? I mean, you’re an artist. What do you care about the rat race?
Daniel: A lot has changed. I mean, I’ve changed. My world has expanded. You know, my point of view has adjusted. I would think you of all people would understand that.
Billy: I’m not sure how to interpret that.
Daniel: I mean, you’ve not always really been the corporate type. You’ve got a very colorful résumé with a dozen or so different careers. You know, like the time you owned the restaurant.
Billy: Yeah. Won that in a poker game.
Daniel: Right. And you’ve always been open to new opportunities. You’re lucky. You know, when they’ve presented themselves or when they do present themselves, you’re gonna have a partner who is supportive. One would hope that you would return the favor and be supportive of lily, as well.
Billy: Not sure what you’re thinking. I’ve been nothing but supportive to lily.
Daniel: Yet you chose to walk away just as the situation at chancellor-winters started to get a little bit dicey. You know, lily — she was struggling, and it was almost as if you abandoned her. I mean, you must have been very unhappy there.
Billy: This is a big place. I’m gonna go find a little space over there so I can, uh, work on my e-mails. Good luck with your project.
Daniel: I mean, I can tell you this much. It’s a platform to help people find their purpose.
Billy: Huh.
Lily: I’m sorry. I don’t mean to dump all this on you. I don’t want to put you in an uncomfortable position. I know that I should be talking to billy about this. It’s just that we’ve been talking past each other these days.
Traci: [ Sighs ] Maybe you need an objective third party to help you navigate these troubles.
Lily: Are you volunteering?
[ Both laugh ]
Traci: I said objective. I mean, I’m his sister, and I’m your friend. I like to think I’m fair, but, no, I mean a really objective third party.
Lily: You mean like a couples counselor?
Traci: Yeah. I’ve had so many friends who have really improved their relationships by getting professional help. I know it’s helped me.
Lily: No, I mean, I like it. You know, it’s proactive, and i think it’s a step in the right direction.
Traci: Do you think billy would go?
Lily: Um…I don’t know. I mean… I don’t know. We’re so not on the same page. I can’t really guess what he’s thinking.
Traci: Lily, don’t give up on him. Billy needs you. I know that I don’t need to explain to you that relationships go through these rough patches, but I really want to think that that’s all there is going on between you and billy right now because I can see how much the two of you love each other. And those deep feelings don’t just go away.
Lily: I don’t know. I just feel like it’s slipping through my fingers, and I kind of feel like I’m the only one who’s trying to hold it all together.
Traci: Okay, then you need to tell him that. You need to tell him that you cannot do this alone and maybe get through that thick, stubborn, gorgeous skull of his that he has some work to do here. Your heart is the beat of life.
Tucker: You know, it’s unbelievable. Everybody, including you and devon, thinks that my intentions are hostile.
Ashley: Well, your whole career has been built on hostility. Your business card read “tucker mccall, disruptive entrepreneur.” Remember that gem?
Tucker: That was the old me. I want to make something perfectly clear to you. Any working relationship i entered into with devon I would want to be mutually agreed upon. And the same thing goes for you and me.
[ Sighs ] Oh, ashley. I want to work side by side with you. I really do. You’re so brilliant. You are, and the way your mind works…
[ Clicks tongue ] It’s exciting.
Ashley: [ Chuckles ] Hmm.
Tucker: Can you imagine what we would accomplish together?
Ashley: Okay, but you’d never be welcome at jabot. You know that.
Tucker: No fooling?
Ashley: Yeah.
Tucker: Well, there are other options. For instance, if I were to propose to you that you quit your family business and let me help you build your own empire, what would you say to that?
Phyllis: Jeremy stark asked to meet with me.
Jack: And you obliged?
Phyllis: Yes. Um…he was certain that I knew about diane’s whereabouts and that I was the one who called him. I said it wasn’t me. I denied it. But then I decided to try something new. I told him it was me.
Jack: Wait, you admitted the truth?
Phyllis: Yes. It was me.
Jack: [ Breathes deeply ]
Phyllis: It was me. I told him that I suggested that diane went to the feds and — and — and I was the one who called him and then diane ran scared out of town because i lured him here. I told him everything. I also suggested that he go back to california.
Summer: [ Scoffs ] Well, I’m glad that you’re finally coming clean about your involvement, mom, but that doesn’t change the fact that you’re the one that started all of this.
Jack: What, were you expecting a thank-you or maybe a round of applause? Summer’s right. We wouldn’t be having this conversation, we wouldn’t be in this situation if you hadn’t set all this in motion.
Phyllis: What are you talking about? I tried to do what was right.
Jack: You tried. Is stark going to leave town, as you suggested?
Phyllis: I don’t know, but i got the feeling he’s staying here because he also told me that he needed to meet up with diane because she has something he wants?
Jack: I thought you fixed things. It sounds like you made them a whole lot worse.
Phyllis: No, that wasn’t my intention.
Jack: God, this is classic phyllis — going on a tirade, hoping everyone will give you a pass when you finally acknowledge the damage you’ve done. I told you to stay away from him. But you couldn’T. I’ve said this before. I’ll say it again. I’m done with you.
Phyllis: What? I mean, what, as jack abbott or as ceo of jabot?
Jack: Both. I don’t know if I’m more furious or disappointed. Yes, there was a little part of me actually hoping you were telling me the truth when you looked me square in the eye and said you didn’t call him. But you lied — because you never, ever change.
Phyllis: That is not fair.
Jack: I told you what the consequences would be if I found out that you reached out to stark.
Phyllis: Are you firing me?
