Thomas: I’m so pumped, I’m gonna get right into the next collection.
Ridge: Or maybe you should just enjoy the moment of what happened here.
Thomas: Well, okay. I got tons of emails and phone calls and not all of them are from mom.
Ridge: Course they’re not all from mom because you guys did an amazing job. You, zende, hope, you knocked it out of the park.
Thomas: Yeah.
Ridge: It couldn’t have gone any better.
Thomas: Last night was incredible and I’m pumped about that. But you don’t seem as pumped as I am.
Ridge: I’m just as pumped as you. What are you talking about?
Thomas: Okay, it just seems like something heavy is weighing on you. What’s going on?
Ridge: I– it’S…
Thomas: Come on. You can tell me. Is it like, did bill get one of his hacks to pan us or what?
Ridge: It’s nothing to do with bill. I… it’s nothing to do with you or your show. Everything was great. I just, I saw brooke there, and I know I saw her and… and just wonder how she could do what she did. How she could call child services and yeah, I just don’t know what to do with it.
Thomas: She– she hasn’t talked to you about that?
Ridge: Nah, she’s still pretending she doesn’t know what drove us apart.
Thomas: You know what? It’s probably best to just put it out of your mind. I mean, look, that whole situation, it wasn’t fun or anything, but it’s like… it wasn’t great answering those questions, but it’s not like it affected me. It didn’t affect douglas. Just move on from it. You know, brooke is in the past and we’re all moving on from that. I think that’s pretty amazing. I mean, you– you’ve been dedicating your time to our family and we’re overjoyed to have you.
Ridge: I did something today, something that’s gonna hurt brooke very much.
Steffy: There’s our superstar designer. Thomas, I saw an article calling you the future of fashion. Amazing. What? Did you already hear about it?
Ridge: No, it’s um…
Steffy: What?
Ridge: Er, I had carter deliver some papers to brooke today.
Steffy: Papers?
Ridge: Annulment papers.
Brooke: I didn’t expect to see you, carter.
Carter: Yeah, well… ridge asked me to come.
Brooke: Oh, I see. You have something for me.
Carter: I do.
Thomas: You’re annulling your marriage?
Ridge: If brooke agrees, yeah.
Steffy: You don’t know if she’s going to resist.
Ridge: I don’t know anything. I don’t know. No, I do know. I know she’s going to be hurt. I know that.
Steffy: Well, I’m sure carter will handle it with compassion.
Ridge: Sure he will. Um, it’s gonna be a little awkward around here. Brooke works here, I’m here, and it’S… I– I just need everyone to understand that this is gonna be a little bit strange.
Thomas: Yeah, absolutely.
Steffy: Yeah.
Ridge: Well, it should make you happy, right?
Steffy: Well, yeah, it does make me happy. I mean, I want you and mom back together. We don’t want brooke to be hurt.
Ridge: Oh, she’s going to be hurt. There’s nothing we can do about that.
Thomas: Dad, I mean, I know that you’re worried about brooke and her feelings. I get that, but it’s not like this comes out of the blue, right? She– she had to expect this.
[ Brooke sighing ]
Brooke: He really did it.
Carter: I feel terrible.
Brooke: Well, he mentioned an annulment dissolving our marriage, so it’s not really a surprise.
Carter: Still must be shocking.
Brooke: Yeah, it is. It’s really shocking to see it here in black and white. A marriage like ours shouldn’t be ending with a few pieces of paper. It shouldn’t be ending at all. Did ridge say anything? Did he ask you to tell me anything? Well, I saw him after the showing and he was, um, he wasn’t callous, but there was a barrier. And I was just hoping…
[ Brooke sighing ] Do you struggle with occasional nerve aches

Katie: Yeah. What’s going on?
Carter: I just came from brooke’S.
Katie: You saw my sister?
Carter: You might want to give her a call.
Katie: Why?
Carter: She’ll want to hear from you.
Katie: This is about ridge, isn’t it? You’re his attorney and you went to her house. Did you give her divorce papers?
Carter: Ridge wants an annulment.
Katie: An annulment? He wants to wipe out their marriage like it never even happened? This is going to devastate her.
Thomas: Hey, dad. Taking this step, I mean, even if you’re certain it’s going to be a challenge and it’s especially gonna be a challenge if you know you’re going to hurt someone, but it’s the best thing to do so that everyone can just move forward.
Steffy: Yeah. You can’t start a life with mom until you end things with brooke.
Ridge: I know. But she said she wouldn’t give up on us, not ever.
Steffy: Okay and that makes me sad for her, but you are committed to mom.
Ridge: Told her that too.
Steffy: Well, maybe it’ll be more clear to her once you give her the papers.
Ridge: That’ll be clear to her, I’m sure. I should’ve been there. It’s not an easy thing. No, I should’ve been there for her, I should’ve called her, warned her, something.
Thomas: Dad, that wouldn’t have changed anything. It wouldn’t have made it better. I mean, brooke expects you to come back to her. You always choose her over our family.
Steffy: But this time he didn’T.
Thomas: Right.
Steffy: You couldn’T. Mom offered you something better. A love that you’ll never be able to question.
Thomas: Look, dad, you’re– you’re a good person and you’re trying to look out for everyone’s best interests. But at some point, you just gotta look after yourself.
Ridge: What is happening here? You guys are concerned about my feelings, about brooke’s feelings. Okay, cool. Listen, our marriage wasn’t perfect, but we always found a way to keep moving, to fix things, to communicate. But this, I don’t know. I can’T… I can’t get past it.
Thomas: I’m sorry, dad.
[ Brooke sobbing ] You didn’t live this strong, this long to get put
Ridge: Sorry? What are you sorry about?
Steffy: Yeah, you wanted dad and brooke apart as much as anyone.
Thomas: I’m sorry that dad’s feeling bad about what he’s going through.
Ridge: Well, don’T. Thank you, but don’T. It’s gonna be okay. It’S… it’s good.
Steffy: Good. You uh, you asked brooke for an annulment. That’s good. You’re starting a life with mom. I think that’s amazing.
Thomas: You’re not having second thoughts?
Ridge: Second thoughts? No, this is not… no, I’m just um, uh, what’s the word? I’m– I’m conflicted. I’ve spent two lifetimes with brooke and we’ve done everything together and… I now know she’s in pain. It’s because of me and trying to find a place to put that. Trying to process things, that’s all.
Thomas: I get that. All right, you just– at some point you gotta move past it, right? You gotta move on. And you’ve honestly, you’ve nothing to feel guilty about. All right. So focus on the things that make you happy like, uh, like your family. Right? And your son’s success.
Steffy: Yes. And the joy mom brings to your life.
Ridge: Yeah.
Thomas: Look dad, it’S… you’re moving forward into an incredible time in your life, so there’s no reason to look back. What happened with brooke and everything like that, you got to move beyond that. Like I said, you shouldn’t feel guilty about it, all right? So just focus on your future. Focus on mom.
[ Katie sighing ]
Carter: You need to call your sister.
Katie: No, I’m– I’m going to. I will. I… I’m gonna give her a minute. You know, she– she’ll reach out to me if she needs me. I just hope she’s okay.
Carter: She will be. You logans are the strongest women I’ve ever met.
Katie: Yeah, but we’re not invincible. I mean, I can just see her, she’S… holding those papers and thinking about the life that she wants with ridge, the life that they’ve planned on, the life that they fought for. I mean, they have always overcome everything, outside obstacles in their way, whatever it is that’s thrown in their way, they always overcome it. Taylor wasn’t supposed to be a threat. Ridge said that she wasn’t a threat. They were apart and he came back to her. And now he wants to just wipe everything away like it never even happened. This is going to crush her, carter. She loves ridge so much.
Carter: And he loves her too, I’m sure of it.
Katie: Then why is this happening? Why is this happening?
Carter: It’s gonna be okay.
Ridge: Carter dropped off the papers?
Brooke: You couldn’t have asked carter that? You had to come see for yourself?
Ridge: I just wanna make sure you’re okay.
Brooke: I’m not drinking if that’s what you’re worried about.
Ridge: It’s not what I’m worried about.
Brooke: What do you care?
Ridge: I will always care about you.
Brooke: Yeah? If you really care, ridge, you’d tell me what is going on. Because I don’t understand it. You want to annul our marriage? You want to just erase our life together?
Ridge: We need to move on.
Brooke: Okay. You keep saying we. But if I sign those papers, there will be no we. So, is that really what you want? Is this it? Is this the end for us? Is it? Moderate-to-severe eczema.
Thomas: Think brooke will sign the papers?
Steffy: I can’t believe dad gave them to her.
Thomas: You have doubts?
Steffy: No, I just can’t believe it finally happened. We wanted our parents back together. And after all these years, mom was away wanting to be back with dad, knowing that he would never leave brooke. How he’s finally had enough.
Thomas: Yeah, well, I was starting to wonder.
Steffy: He asked for an annulment. It’s over.
Thomas: Well, it was time, you know, for our family to finally be together. I mean, seeing him and brooke, it’s like, it’s night and day between that and mom. And he’s just so much happier with her. It’s just seeing brooke and how she’s constantly demanding what he does and trying to control everything.
Steffy: And no matter how many times we told him to just stop and break the cycle, dad wouldn’t listen.
Thomas: ‘Til he got the message loud and clear.
Steffy: Yes, and he followed her all the way to aspen and everything changed.
Thomas: And now he’s free. Moving on from that life, moving into a life with our mother and away from brooke logan trying to control him and our family.
Brooke: This annulment isn’t really what you want, ridge. Deep down, you know, it’s a mistake.
Ridge: We can’t keep doing this to each other. We want different things for ourselves, for our kids.
Brooke: So, this is it? This is the end of our marriage?
[ Brooke scoffing ] What is going on? What is this? This wall between us? Why? Everything was fine, ridge, and I love you and I know you love me, too. So, none of this makes sense. I don’t even understand why this is happening. Yeah, you say you need to be with taylor and your children. But why? Your children are adults. They can take care of themselves. And don’t tell me this is just the way it has to be. Because that is no reason. No reason at all. I just need to know why. Why are you doing this?
